"Hey, there's no need for blasters; can't we talk?" The Starswirl Doctor tried to plead. "SILENCE," Commander Novul Digugg the Grand stated. "Shoot the Doctor down before he makes his escape, for the great glory of Sontar." "SONTAR-HA," The Sontaran Stormtroopers chanted as they fired upon the Doctor. But the Doctor managed to evade them as he went into his TARDIS and escaped. Once in safety, the Starswirl Doctor looked at his hand as it glowed with a bright golden light. He knew that his age was now getting the better of him and that his regeneration would soon begin. "Sigh, oh well, I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later," the Starswirl Doctor murmured. "Well, alright then, let's hope the life of my future incarnation won't be as complicated as mine was." And with that, the Starswirl Doctor collapsed, stone-dead, on the ground. It was a really slow day at Canterlot High, where Sunset Shimmer was in her history class, just waiting for the day to end. Sunset was an excellent student, and she did very well in every one of her classes, but her history class was one of the few classes she wasn't interested in that much. "Oh, why does time have to go so slow when I have to do history class?" Sunset said it with a bored expression on her face. Sunset Shimmer was just your everyday, normal schoolgirl, just trying to get through the day without any problems. But Sunset really wanted something interesting and fun to happen, like for her to be the hero in some epic adventure. Little did she know that this adventure that she had dreamed of was about to begin. The final bell had finally rung, and Sunset was relieved when it did, because now she could finally get to go home for the day. But once she opened the doors that led to the outside, she instantly regretted her decision because it was snowing outside, the temperature was 30 degrees below zero, and she had forgotten to bring her heavy coat, so she would have to walk back home in the cold. Sunset was about to get back on her motorcycle when she started to hear a buzzing noise coming from the sky. Sunset looked around her, trying to find where the noise was coming from. Suddenly, she saw what appeared to be a white flash of light that blinded Sunset the instant she saw it, and when the light began to fade away, what Sunset saw next was incredibly bizarre. When the light faded away, what was in its place was an old antique grandfather clock sitting in the middle of the Canterlot High Football Field. Sunset was momentarily stunned because what she had just seen affected all normal scientific logic. A grandfather clock can't just appear out of nowhere; it goes against all normal logic. Sunset started to approach the grandfather clock with caution, not knowing what would be inside it. As soon as Sunset was face-to-face with the unknown clock, she was thinking about what was inside. She backed off at first because she didn't know if whatever was inside the weird thing was friend or foe. But after five minutes of her thinking it over, Sunset put her fears and worries aside and slowly but surely opened the cabinet to the grandfather clock. Once she was inside, she was met with a gentle humming noise, and then a sense of realization hit her as she noticed that the interior of the grandfather clock was bigger than it was on the outside. Sunset then ran back to see the small exterior and went back into the large control room. "HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE? There's no way an object's interior is bigger than the exterior! This defies all human logic! This is incredible—an evolution of human reasoning." Sunset contemplated herself as her amazement went up every second. But as she continued to ramble, she noticed that there was the figure of an elderly man lying unconscious on the floor. Sunset, at first thinking that the man was hurt, "Hello sir, my name is Sunset Shimmer; are you ok? Are you breathing?" Sunset asked as she tried to get the man's attention. But then, Sunset saw the elderly man become enveloped in a golden light. This was before golden flames erupted from the man's body, flying in all directions. Sunset had to squint her eyes as the entire room was then engulfed in golden light. After a minute of blindness, the golden light started to fade away, and as Sunset started to regain her vision, she noticed that the elderly man she at first saw was nowhere to be found, and in his place, there seemed to be a girl that looked like she was around the same age as Sunset was. Before she did anything, Sunset went to Principal Celestia's office and told her about everything that had happened, and once Sunset showed Celestia where the mysterious girl was, they took her inside so she wouldn't get frostbite from being in the cold for too long. Sunset and Celestia then brought the unconscious girl to the Canterlot High Medical Wing. Both Sunset and Celestia were looking at the mysterious girl as Nurse Redheart took her dingy outfit off and dressed her in a hospital gown. Nurse Redheart then drew an X-ray. Sunset was then startled when Nurse Redheart let out a shocked gasp. "What's wrong, Nurse Redheart?" Principal Celestia asked. "This girl has two hearts!" Nurse Redheart said "WHAT!!!" Both Celestia and Sunset shouted in surprise. "Not only that, she has 48 rib bones in her ribcage. A normal man has 24 rib bones." Nurse Redheart said "Miss Sunset, where did you find this girl?" "I found her unconscious in this old antique grandfather clock, where the inside is bigger than the outside. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. Well, she was first an old man, then there was a flash of light, and then the old man is a girl now." Sunset ranted as her brain was going into overdrive, trying to figure out a logical reason for all of this, but in the end, she couldn't find any logical reason for this. All this thinking made Sunset's head hurt, but Celestia soon calmed her down from her paranoid rant. "Sunset, I'm sure that you are just as puzzled as we are, but what we need to do is calm down and think of a solution for this. Maybe when the girl wakes up, we can ask her about all this." Celestia said it in a calm voice. Sunset finally calmed down, and I just waited. She couldn't wait for this mysterious stranger to wake up because she had a lot of questions that needed to be answered. Meanwhile, in the vast reaches of space, a spaceship was hovering across Earth's atmosphere, and metal men from inside the ship had found the grandfather clock. These creatures were known to the universe as the Cybermen. "The TARDIZ has been detected," one of the cybermen said. "Exzellent," said the cyberleader. "Thizz is confirmation that the doctor is on this planet." The Cyberleader said, "Zoon, the Doctor will be found, and the TARDIZ will be under our complete control. Your orders are to find the doctor and force him to pilot the TARDIS for us." "Yezzz, Leader," The Cyberman said, "all zzztrike forcezzz will be zzzent to apprehend the doctor." "Exzellent," the cyberleader said. "Soon, all of time will belong to Uzzz!" I will continue with Part 2 of 7, The Awakening. > Infiltration of the Cybermen: Part 2 of 7, The Awakening (Updated) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sci-Twi as Doctor Who Companions: Sunset Shimmer Wallflower Blush Episode 1: Conquest of the Cybermen Part 2 of 7: The Awakening Written by: Grand Galvatron (The next day) Wallflower Blush looked out the window of her Apartment room and saw that not only was the snow just as bad as yesterday was, but today was supposed to get even colder than it was yesterday. Wallflower was your typical shy kid. Ever since she was little she has always isolated herself from the outside world. Always trying to avoid being in large groups of people, probably because she has severe claustrophobia. Wallflower didn't really have a lot of friends either. "Uggh, why does it have to get even colder today. I wish I was on a tropical beach right now." Wallflower said to herself as she got her backpack ready and headed off to school. "My day can't get any weirder...can it," Wallflower thought to herself. Nurse Redheart, as she entered the Canterlot medical wing, she saw the girl was still unconscious. "Hmm, I wonder how long she's going to be like that. Well, I think it would be best to check her pulse just in case." Nurse Redheart said as she entered the Medical Wing. As Nurse Redheart was checking the girl's heartbeat and saw that it was just as it was the last time she checked, she then went over to one of the cupboard doors in the wing to find a thermometer to check the girl's temperature. Nurse Redheart got surprised when she heard a faint murmur, "Mmmm...No, you can't win Master, I won't let you," The girl said as she slowly woke up. Nurse Redheart, upon seeing the girl wake up, reacted immediately, and walked over to the girl. "Well, you're finally awake, my name is Nurse Redheart, could you please tell me your name?" Redheart asked. "C-4," The girl murmured. "I'm sorry, I couldn't understand what you were saying," Nurse Redheart said. "C-4," The girl said again. "I'm sorry, I don't know what C-4 is," Nurse Redheart said. "C-4," The girl said, this time pointing at a nearby vending machine. "Oh, you wanted a snack, ok, I will be right back," Nurse Redheart said as she walked towards the vending machine. She returned to the medical wing with a bag of Jelly-Babies in her hand. "Is this what you wanted?" Nurse Redheart asked, to which the girl slowly nodded her head yes. As Nurse Redheart gave the Jelly-Babies to her, she snatched it out of Redheart's hand and quickly munched a sweet treat. After the Jelly-Babies were completely eaten, the girl licked her lips with a satisfied smile on her face. "Ohh Jelly-Babies, the greatest sweet in the universe. Oh how I missed you," The girl said cheerfully. "Excuse me mam, but could you please tell me your name," Nurse Redheart said. "Wait, why are you calling me mam," The girl said before getting a surprised look on her face as she rushed to a mirror. "Young...I'm YOUNG! YAAAAAAAY! I'M NOT OLD ANYMORE! OH BLESS YOU, YOUNG PEOPLE!" The girl said in excitement. "Wait, wait a minute...I'm too young...well, nothings perfect. I have to say though, I think the eyes are a definite improvement, but I could have done without the nose. Tell me, something Nurse, what do you think of my nose," The girl said to Nurse Redheart. "I'm not entirely sure," Nurse Redheart said in a confused voice. "Well of course you don't, you're a busy woman, you don't really have time to check on someone's nose." The Girl said. "Could you please tell me your name?" Nurse Redheart said. "I am the Doctor," The Doctor said. "Umm...Doctor Who?" Nurse Redheart said. "It's just The Doctor, nothing after that." The Doctor replied. "Would you like a Jelly-Baby?" Just then, Sunset Shimmer came into the medical wing along with Principal Celestia. “Ahh, Principal Celestia, you came just in time, the girl just woke up and is up and about,” Nurse Redheart said. “Can I talk to her, I just have a lot of questions to ask her or him or whatever,” Sunset said, barely containing her excitement. “Very well, I will notify her that you will be coming,” Nurse Red heart said. Sunset responded with an excited scream, like she just won the lottery. When Nurse Red heart and Sunset came into the room, they both saw the mysterious girl writing something on a chalk board, but when they saw what she was doing, they saw that she was writing a math equation that looked so complexing, but Sunset finally realized that she was writing the Riemann Hypothesis, a Math equation that to this day, had never been able to be solved. But somehow, this girl was able to completely solve it with the correct answer. “She just solved the Riemann Hypothesis in about 3 minutes…b-but THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!” Sunset said in utter shock as her and Celestia’s jaws dropped. “Oh, it’s nothing really, just solving a simple math equation,” The Doctor said. Just then, Octavia came into the room, and without warning, the Doctor snatched the cello from Octavia’s hands and started playing the entirety of Beethoven perfectly, causing both Sunset and Octavia to faint from excitement. “Maybe we should wait for Sunset to wake up before we start asking any questions,” Celestia said. “Ok, it’s no Biggy, I can wait, there’s just so much knowledge in this place that I need to see and expose to my mind,” The Doctor happily said as she zipped out of the emergency room and into the library. “Oh brother,” Celestia said as she saw the girl going through every encyclopedia, dictionary, and thesaurus in the library. "Hey, what are you doing, unhand me right now, this is no way to treat a mathematical genius," The girl said as she was escorted out of the library by two security guards. "Oww, your squeezing my arm too tight, you are really hurting me, is this any way to treat a girl." End of Part 2. Colonel Neighsay said "Yes, sir, all plans for the device are ahead of schedule," one of the engineering operators said. "Excellent, I do not want any more delays on the device's construction; have the computer pull up the blueprints," Neighsay instructed, as the computer pulled up the blueprints to not only cryogenic chambers but to some kind of ice cannon. "Soon, men, we will be able to use polar temperatures as a weapon to help defend our country." "Colonel," one of the operators said. "Our instruments are picking up some kind of spacecraft landing near our vicinity." "On-screen," Neigh-say said, revealing the mysterious spacecraft. "Have our instruments detected any lifeforms in the craft?" "Not yet, Colonel," the operator said. "Alright, send a search team to go inside the craft and report anything that you find," Neigh-say commanded. "Sir, yes, sir," the search team said. "Alright men, activate the speakers on their vests so that we can hear what they find," Neighsay said. "Yes, sir, activating the communication link," the operator said. As the speakers then activated "Contact established," Neighsay then saw the search team start to enter the mysterious spacecraft. "Search Team, what have you found so far?" Neighsay said. "Wow, it's amazing," the lieutenant said. "These mechanisms are more advanced than anything we have ever built." "Yeah, but it's so cold in here," the Sargent said. "It feels like we're in some kind of giant refrigeration port." "Activating scanners," The Lieutenant said. " Suddenly, the lieutenant heard something from afar. "Hold on, Colonel; I think I hear something," the Lieutenant said. "What is it?" Neigh-say said. "It sounds like footsteps heading towards our location," the lieutenant said. "Colonel, our scanners are detecting six lifeforms on the ship," the operator said. "One of the doors is opening," the lieutenant said. "It's...oh my god." "What, what is it?" Neigh-say said. "It's...six metal men, with wires all over them," the lieutenant said. "I'll try to communicate with them." "Hello, I am..." The lieutenant tried to say something before being interrupted. "Lieutenant Magnus of the Earth Military Defense Force," the Cyber-Leader said. "Yes, we know who you are." "Who or what are you?" The Lieutenant said this before Neighsay heard what sounded like the sound of laser fire, followed by the Lieutenant's screams of agony as he then died. "We are the Cybermen," the CyberLeader stated."Kill the rest of them; their bodies will be perfect for cyber-conversion." "YES, Leader," the other Cybermen said before they opened fire on the rest of the search team. "LIEUTENANT, WHAT IS GOING ON IN THERE? Please respond," Neighsay commanded before the doors to the base exploded. "YOU WILL ALL DROP YOUR WEAPONS NOW AND SURRENDER!" One of the cybermen said: "Who or what are you?" Neighsay said. "Who among you is in charge?" "I am the leader," the cyber-leader said. "Well, let me tell you something, Leader: I am not going to answer any of your questions," Neighsay said. "There are many ways that we can make you tell us about anything we please," the cyberleader says. "It is a simple matter of handling organic life forms like yourself; the definition and usage of pain, physical as well as emotional pain, will suffice." "If you think I'm going to let you walk out of here with information regarding this base, then you are sadly..." Neighsay said this before the Cyber-Leader put his hands up against Neighsay's skull and then proceeded to crush it. "Remain silent unless we deem it fit for you to speak, or we will kill you," the cyber-leader said in an emotionless voice. The cyberleader then let go. "Alright, what do you want from me?" Neighsay said, gripping his head. "We want to know about everything that you have about Project Kronos," the Cyber-Leader said. "Kronos," Neighsay said, confused. "What is that?" "HE ATTEMPTS TO DECEIVE," one of the cybermen said. "Clearly," the cyberleader said. "We will find out about Project Kronos because we know of humanity's weakness." "Weakness, and what would that be exactly?" Neigh-say asked. "The weakness of the human mind, the weakness of emotion, the weakness of love," the cyberleader said. "Those are strengths where we humans come from; it's how we can tell between right and wrong. It's what is going to give me the strength to knock that metal mask off your face," Neighsay said. "Your human beliefs are irrelevant to the matter at hand," the cyberleader said. "Bring his family in," The Cyber-Leader said as his wife and son are brought in. "NO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY FAMILY?" Neighsay roared as two cybermen pointed their weapons at him. "This is but a test to prove our point that human emotion is a weakness," the cyberleader said. "You are a war veteran, and the only way to win in a war is by using logic and having no regard for the lives of the enemy," the Cyber-Leader said. "And especially no regard for what other's believe; only victory matters in the art of war." "What does my family's lives have anything to do with what we are doing right now?" Neighsay said. "If what you say is true, victory and keeping your blue-prints secret are all that matter," the cyber-leader said. "Then you will have no qualms about whether your family dies in the process," the cyberleader said. "You two, kill them," the Cyber-Leader commanded. "Yes, Leader," the two cybermen said as they pointed their weapons at Neighsay's wife and child. "NOO, PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU," Neighsay pleaded. "I'll tell you anything that you want to know; just don't bring any harm to my family!" The Cyber-Leader then brought his hand up, signaling the Cyber-men to lower their weapons. "You see, it is your feeble human emotions that made you act in such a way," the cyberleader said methodically. "Now you see that emotion is a weakness; it made you avoid doing what would be the logical step to keep your plans secret," the cyberleader said. "Fine, I'll tell you anything you want to know," Neighsay said in defeat. "We do not need the information spewed out from your lips," the cyberleader said. The cyberleader then turned towards the other cybermen. "Take him to our mothership, to cyber-control," the cyber-leader said. "Once he is converted into our new Cyber-Time-Controller, The Cyber-Planner will have all the information about Project Kronos that we need," The Cyber-Leader said. "Also, leave his family at the base and set the facility to self-destruct," the cyberleader said. The Cybermen all replied, "Yes, Leader." "NOOOO!" Neighsay shouted as he thrashed around in the Cyber-Men's grip while he was escorted into the Cyber-Men's spacecraft. When Neighsay was on board the Cybermen's spacecraft, all he could do was watch as the military base exploded before him. "Take him to the Cyber-Conversion Chamber to be converted into our newest Cyber-Leader; the Cyber-Controller demands it," the Cyber-Leader demands. "We will have complete and total control over the timelines. The Cybermen will be the masters of all time eras." (Will continue in Conquest of the Cybermen: Part 3 of 7: The Conquest Begins: Part 2 of 2: 20 questions.) > Infiltration of the Cybermen: Part 3 of 7: The Conquest Begins: Part 2 of 2: 20 questions > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Back at Canterlot High) After Sunset had finished her last class for the day, Sunset Shimmer, after packing her backpack, went straight towards the nurses' office to ask thisalien girl" a few questions. But as soon as Sunset reached the door, she saw that there was no one inside the nursing area. However, even though she couldn't see anyone or anything, that didn't mean she couldn't hear things, as she heard a ruckus in the nursing room closet as if someone was thrashing from being tied up. After getting close to the closet door, Sunset gently knocked on the door. "Nurse Red-Heart, are you in there?" Sunset asked as she waited for whoever was inside to reply to her. Suddenly, as Sunset opened the door, she saw that Nurse Redheart was bound by a jump rope. "Nurse-Red Heart, what happened to you? Where's that girl?" Sunset asked while freeing Red-Heart from the jump rope. "Oh, just because that girl is delirious does not mean she's stupid," Red-Heart said. "She tricked me into going into this closet with a game of Jump-Rope, then she tripped me and tied me up with it." As soon as Nurse Red-Heart said that, Sunset knew exactly where the strange girl may have gone. So without another moment to spare, she went outside and headed towards that rickety grandfather clock out on the football field. As soon as Sunset got to the clock, she started hearing noises inside the police box, almost like someone was changing clothes. "Hey, what are you doing?" Sunset said. "You can't just tie up poor nurses, lock them in closets, and just go off willy-nilly." Suddenly, the girl's face appeared just when the doors opened slightly. "Can't, what do you mean can't, There's no such thing or word as can't." The Doctor replied, "Oh wait, can't is a word, but you know what I mean...Alright, it's been fun talking with you, Earth Girl whose hair looks like it should be served with scrambled eggs and toast, but I must be on my way, so...Cheerio." The doctor said this as she closed the doors. "Oh, WHAT DID SHE JUST SAY?" Sunset shouted, offended at the doctor's snarky remark. "Now you hold on just a minute. What are you even doing in there?" Sunset sneered as The Doctor opened the doors slightly again. "Changing," the voice said. "There are places to go, people to see, and historic books to read." Suddenly, the strange girl came out, who was wearing some kind of pirate outfit, complete with a hook-and-eye patch. Sunset then had a distasteful look on her face. "What?" the doctor said in a confused voice. "Do you honestly believe that I'm going to walk around town with you looking like that?" Sunset said with disdain. "Oh, alright then," The Doctor said as she went back in, only moments later to come out wearing an astronaut costume. Sunset this time shook her head no as the doctor then went back inside. Then she came out wearing a Civil War Union soldier outfit. "Are you even trying?" Sunset said. "Oh right, golly, what was I thinking?" the doctor said as she went back in time a third time. Then the doctor came out wearing a purple sweater, a white lab coat, grey long-sleeved pants, brown boots, and goggles on her head with messy hair. "Alright, that's...good enough," Sunset said with a nervous sweat. "Are you sure I can change again?" the doctor encouraged. "No, that's quite enough of the dress-up, because right now, I wanted to ask you a few questions," Sunset said, annoyed. "Oh, alright, ask away," the doctor said with a happy look on her face. "First of all, who or what are you? You were an old man with a long beard and a purple robe on when I first saw you," Sunset asked. "Oh, I've been called a vast collection of many names," the doctor said. "Some have called me The Sand-Man; many on the Borders of Mars have called me The Time-Lord Victorious. Some in the darkest trenches of the universe referred to me as the Valeyard." "There was one planet where there was a race of talking ponies with wings and horns and various things on their bottoms," the doctor said. "I remember that they used to call me Starswirl the Bearded; that's what they called me," the doctor said. "And they had a princess; maybe that's where I got the idea for this new incarnation of me." "But you can call me The Doctor," The Doctor said. "I'm a Time Lord, from the planet Gallifrey on the 2nd constellation of Kasterborous. "Doctor Who?" Sunset said. "No, just the doctor; my real name isn't important; it never was," the doctor said. "Oh, and about your question, I just simply draw energy off of the TARDIS," the doctor said. "Without it, I wouldn't have survived." "TARDIS," Sunset said, confused. "Yes, my Type-44 TARDIS. It stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space," the doctor said. "Now where were we? Oh yes, it's a little thing called regeneration; all time-lords can use it," the doctor said. "Well, we don't want to keep your principal waiting, so let's go back inside so you don't catch a cold in all this snow." As the Doctor and Sunset came back in, the Doctor saw a news bulletin on a TV that was hanging on one of the walls. "We interrupt this program to give you this shocking Canterlot News story," the anchor said. "Earlier today, a military base on the outskirts of the city was strangely destroyed by a blast of blue energy. Some of the survivors said that their base was under attack by a group of silver metal men." "Silver metal men, no, it couldn't be," the doctor thought to herself. "Our drones captured an image of one of these supposed metal men," The News Anchor said as the screen zoomed into the picture the drones had captured. The blood in the doctor's veins ran cold when she saw the image of the machine monster's face. Sunset noticed the doctor's reaction. "Doctor, what's wrong?" "No, no, no, not them, not anyone but them," the doctor said in fear. "Sunset, you need to listen to me," the doctor said to Sunset. "You need to run away, far away from this place. Because if they catch you, they will capture you and convert you into one of them, a soulless, emotionless machine monster; all of your emotions will be removed; your ability to feel pain or remorse will be stripped away; and everything that makes you human will be snuffed out and replaced with cold machine-like logic." "And when you've been converted, they'll force you to do horrible, terrible things, like destroy cities or convert your loved ones," the doctor said. Oh, I've been so careless with you; they may have seen you with me." The doctor said "Now do as I tell you, run away and never look back. They never tire, they are ruthless, and they will never stop hunting you," the doctor said. "Run from what?" Sunset said. "The Cybermen...run from the Cybermen," the Doctor responded. "Wait, if you said that they may have seen me with you, then that must mean..." The very thought made Sunset panic. "They're at home." Sunset then bolted towards the location of her home. "NO, STOP, IT'S TOO DANGEROUS," the doctor shouted as she chased after them. But what Sunset would see next would change her—for all the absolute worst outcomes.
