> Silent Hill: Frozen Fear > by Dalek-Galvo > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue: Dreams of Despair > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight was busy packing up her backpack when she felt a hand touch her right shoulder. When she turned around to see who it was, she was happy to see that it was her friend/girlfriend, Sunset Shimmer. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you while you were studying," Sunset said, who was starting to blush out of embarrassment. "It's ok, Sunset; there's nothing to apologize for; I'm just happy that you're here," Twilight said, with a sheepish smile on her face. As Twilight and Sunset were walking back home, Twilight then asked Sunset, "So, what did you want to talk about with me?" "Oh right, I heard that Pinkie Pie is going to be throwing this big party, and I was wondering if you wanted to come over," Sunset replied. Just as Sunset said that, she saw the faint bags under Twilight's eyes. "Twi, did you stay up all night last night preparing for that test we had today?" Sunset asked. "Oh, you noticed, huh?" Twilight said. "I'm sorry, I was just really paranoid that I wasn't going to pass the test or not, so I stayed up a little later than usual," Sci-Twi said as she let out a low yawn. I promise I'll sleep a little earlier tonight as a reward for getting an A+ on the test. "Hey Twi," Sunset said. "I know of a little short cut to get to Pinkies house a little quicker; follow me," Sunset said as she raced down a nearby alleyway. "Sunset?" Twilight said as Sunset ran towards the alley. "Hey, wait up," Twilight said as she followed Sunset towards the alleyway. Since Sunset was a lot more athletic than Twilight was, she was already 10 feet away from Sci-Twi, to the point where Sci-Twi could only see the back of Sunset's red and gold hair and jacket. "Hey, Sunset, slow down. You know I'm not as fast as you," Twilight said as she raced after Sunset. As she kept running, she noticed that the alleyway kept on going, almost like Twilight was caught in an endless maze. It took just a few more left and right turns before Twilight completely lost sight of Sunset. "Sunset, could you turn around so I can get to you more easily?" Twilight said. No response. This made Twilight run even faster than before, just so that she could get to Sunset quicker. Sci-Twi then saw that the walls around her, which were once clean, were now painted with rust. "Rust, how can a brick wall rust?" Twilight said. "Sunset, please knock it off; this isn't funny," Twilight said in a panic. Still, no response. Twilight then noticed that the sky was beginning to darken and the rusted walls were now starting to rot and decay. As Twilight was thinking about this, she heard a loud siren blaring from all around her. She then saw that the walls were beginning to ooze a red substance that looked almost like blood. Then, out of nowhere, she heard a blood-curdling scream come from the other side of the alley. The voice that emitted the scream almost sounded like.... Now Twilight's heart started to pound as she started to tremble in fear. "Sunset, sunset, where are you?" Twilight screamed as she raced even further through the never-ending path until the sky darkened completely and Twilight was completely drenched in darkness. "No...NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NOOOOO!" Twilight screamed as her vision was completely cloaked. But then, lights started to appear from the dark void and illuminated a path for Twilight to follow. But as Twilight looked around, she noticed to her horror that the brick walls had been replaced with walls of flesh that had eyeballs that were twitching in all directions, mouths that were chattering uncontrollably, arms that were reaching out for her, and the floor was now riddled with squirming body bags that were covered in blood. Twilight could also hear the mouths saying something like, "Ritual," or something like that. Twilight couldn't take anymore of this, so she ran as fast as she could, hoping that she would finally find an end to this never-ending path. Eventually, she finally found a door that was made of flesh with a rusty doorknob at the right of it. Twilight tried to move the knob, but the door wouldn't open. "Move, why won't you move?" Twilight said as she frantically turned the door knob, but to no avail. Suddenly, Twilight felt something wet touch her left shoulder, almost like a drop of rain had hit her. Twilight then reached her hand out to see what it was, only for another drip to hit her hand. When she brought her hand back, she discovered, to her horror, that it was a drop of blood. Two more drops hit her shoulder, and when Twilight looked upward to see what the cause of the dripping was, what she saw made her heart stop and made her skin tremble through her very core. Twilight saw Sunset Shimmer's mangled body, covered in bloody claw marks. Sunset's stomach had been completely ripped open as intestines and other organs dangled from her body. and she was hung up on the ceiling with barbed wire, like some kind of twisted hunting trophy. There was no mistaking it; Sunset Shimmer was dead. "No, God, please nooo! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" Twilight screamed in despair, looking with tear-filled eyes at the sight of her murdered friend. Just then, she heard what sounded like footsteps approaching her; they got louder and louder and louder the closer they got to her. Then, in the darkness, a figure appeared before her. The creature appeared to be cat-like due to the ears and texture of the creature's face, but other than that, the creature looked like it had human arms and legs and appeared to have a human-like smile, filled with jagged, rotting teeth. Then...the creature spoke, "I'm sorry, little one. I tried to be gentle with her; too bad she broke so easily," the creature said while letting out a psychotic cackle. "But the truth is, I don't want to play with her anymore. Do you want to play with me?" The creature spoke in an unhinged voice, followed by laughter that sounded more demonic. "Please, don't hurt me; someone, s-s-someone please help me," Twilight said as she begged for her life. "It's too little, too late for that now; no one is going to help you now. It's time toooooooo...PLLLLLAAAAAAYYYYY!!!" The creature roared as it lunged towards Twilight, driving it's claws into her flesh with enormous force. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH," Twilight woke up in a scream of utter terror. She looked around frantically while breathing in and out heavily. Twilight then realised that she was no longer in a flesh-filled hallway; there was no demonic cat creature tearing her apart, and there was no corpse of Sunset Shimmer. But Twilight saw that she was in the comfort of her bedroom. "It was all just another nightmare," Twilight said, as her breathing finally calmed down. This was the eighth week that she had these constant nightmares. And unlike the previous ones, this one was the worst of them all, as it terrified her to her very core. Like all the others, tonight's dream felt so real and so dark and dreary. All of her nightmares were different, but each one would end with her being torn apart by a different monster for each dream. In one dream, it ended with her being torn in half by a monster that looked like a mangled corspe. In her next dream, she was being haunted by a demon after playing with a Ouija board, who wanted to drag her to the lowest pits of hell. In another, it ended with her finding an unknown door, and then, when opening the door, she was swallowed whole by the gaping maw within. In another, she was trapped in a patted room, but she was not in control of her body as it writhed around and screamed like a cornered animal; it was like she was a prisoner in her own form. And in another dream, she was repeatedly stalked by a man with a warped face before being hit by a large truck. She could handle those kinds of dreams, but the next set of dreams was more unsettling than the last. In her next dream, she was being eaten alive by swarms of flesh-eating insects, and in another, she had been driven mad and went on a killing spree, destroying objects and lives. However, this dream was different and it terrified her to her very core. Twilight then started to cry uncontrollably because she had to suffer from 8 weeks of horrific nightmares, and each one was worse than the previous. She then got up and went to the bathroom to try to wash her face. But when she looked in the mirror, her reflection looked absolutely awful. Her hair was in a complete mess, there were large bags over her bloodshot eyes, and her skin looked sickly pale instead of her usual purple skin. After Twilight sipped from a glass of water, she realized going back to sleep was now completely out of the question because she didn't want a nightmare even more horrific than the one she experienced tonight. "Sunset, Sunset should be able to help me," Twilight said. "She has to; she has to be able to help me." Twilight said as she just rocked back and forth in her bed for the rest of the night. > Chapter 1: Entrance to Darkness, welcome to Silent-Hill > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset Shimmer woke up with a loud yawn, as the rays of the Summer Sun shined on her face. "Man, I really need to shut those blinds before I go to bed next time," Sunset said as she went to the bathroom to take a nice hot shower. After Sunset got dressed and did her morning exercise routine, she went to the kitchen to prepare her morning Coffee and take out a blueberry muffin she had been saving in the fridge. "I'm so glad it's summer vacation," Sunset said as she took a bite out of her muffin. "I wonder what kind of Summer activities Rainbow Dash has planned." Just as Sunset was thinking about that, she heard a knock on her door. Sunset paused for a moment, because she didn't think anyone would be knocking on the door at this time of day. "Hmm, I wonder who would at the door. I know the mailman isn't supposed to come on weekends," Sunset thought to herself. Her thoughts were interrupted when the door started knocking again. "Ok, hold your horses, I'm coming," Sunset said to the person outside. Once she got the door key out of her dresser, she ran over to unlock the door and see whoever was outside. When she opened the door, she saw her friend, Twilight Sparkle outside. "Oh Twilight, I didn't think you would be visi...," Sunset stopped her sentence when Twilight spoke. "Hey Sunset," Twilight said in a tired voice. "Oh my gosh, Twilight, you look like you haven't slept in weeks, are you feeling well," Sunset said in a worried tone of voice. "No, I'm not feeling well at all. can I come in?" Twilight said. "Oh yes, of course, come in, do you need anything, do you need to lie down and sleep a while," Sunset asked. "No, no sleep, I just need some coffee," Twilight said as the thought of sleep made her feel sick to her stomach. Ok, just sit down on one of these chairs and I'll get your coffee prepared for you," Sunset said. Once Sunset comes back into the living room and gave Twilight a small cup of coffee, she then sat in the chair facing Twilight. "So, Twi, what was it that you wanted to talk to me about," Sunset asked. At first, Twilight didn't say anything, and just sat there looking at Sunset. "Twi, please, the only way that I'm going to be able to help you is if you tell me what's been going on," Sunset said. O-Ok, I'll tell you," Twilight said as she drank from her cup of Coffee. "You see, I've been having some nightmares lately." "Oh, nightmares, can you tell me what kind of nightmares you been having," Sunset said. "I've been having constant Nightmares for the past 8 weeks," Twilight said. "And these nightmares are so horrific, I can't even describe them." "I've tried everything I could to finally get some pleasant sleep, I tried hanging up a dream-catcher, I even tried reading a good book, but all that did was make the dreams even worse," Twilight said, beginning to tear up. "And last night’s dream was the worst of them all. I was running through a never-ending alleyway that soon became littered with dead bodies and the walls turned into flesh. And then when I came upon a door I couldn't open, I felt something dripping above me. And when I looked up, I...I...," At this point, Twilight started to tear up and tremble in terror just remembering that one moment. "I saw you're mangled corpse hung by barbed wire, and then this demonic cat appeared and proceeded to..."Play with me" as he said it when it was tearing me limb from limb," Twilight said as she then completely broke down into tears. Sunset was in complete shock, not by how graphic Twilight said the dreams were, but by how utterly terrified Twilight was. "Twilight, I'm so sorry you have to experience this all on your own," Sunset said as she tried to comfort her frightened friend. "But what's worse is now...I can see the monsters from my dreams even when I'm awake, like when I came downstairs this morning, I thought I saw the Demon cat and I attacked, but when it hit me across the cheek, when looked back at it, it wasn't the demon cat at all, it was...my mother." Twilight said crying even heavier now. "Before she could say anything to me, I just took off running, I can't tell what's real and what's not anymore. I'm afraid that if I have another nightmare like the one, I had last night, I think I'm going to hurt someone I care about or go completely insane." Twilight said. "Twilight, I need to tell you something, I think I know a spell that will be able to help you with these nightmares," Sunset said. "It's something called a Mind-Delving spell." "Mind-Delve," Twilight said in confusion. "It's a dream spell that when used, can bring you to this pocket reality in your mind," Sunset said. “Once inside, you will have to find the reason to what's causing these nightmares. Rather they could be manifestations of traumatic memories from some part of your past or manifestations caused by some kind of demented or twisted spirit. Trust me, I been in there all by myself once when I had a series of horrific nightmares myself. But I barely able to escape. But this time, you won't be going alone, I'll be with you during this." "But for it to work on both of us, I'm going to have to use hypnosis on you," Sunset said. "I just want to make sure that you are ok with this?" "Sunset, I'm absolutely ok with this, I'll do anything for this to stop," Twilight. "Ok, Let's begin then," Sunset said. Sunset then got out a Pocket Watch and started swinging it back and forth. “Just keep your eyes on this pocket watch,” Sunset said. Twilight expected her eyes to start drooping and for her to fall into a deep sleep, instead she saw that everything was starting to move in slow motion. And then everything stopped, as Twilight saw that a bee from outside was frozen in mid-flight. “What’s happening, this isn’t really your usual hypnosis,” Twilight said to herself. Then the entire room started to warp and distort as Twilight was starting to get light-headed. “Oh, I hope this is a dream, because if it isn’t, I think I’m gonna hurl,” Twilight said as she was trying to find some place to sit. Then, the floor below her collapsed and shattered as she was sent plummeting through an endless abyss. “AHHHHHH,” Twilight screamed as she continued to fall through the endless white void. And then her vision abruptly cut to black. This torment felt like hours rather than seconds when Twilight regained her consciousness. "Oh, my throbbing head," Twilight said as she got up from being on the floor. "Hey Sunset I don't think the sp..." Before Twilight could finish her thoughts, she saw that Sunset was no where to be found. Not only that but the building that Twilight was currently in looked like Sunset's house, but it was dilapidated and it looked like all the color had been drained out from it. That's when Twilight felt something cold touch her shoulder, and when she turned around, she saw that there were snow-flakes. "What, it's snowing in the beginning of the Summer," Twilight thought to herself as she had a confused look on her face. Then, Twilight turned back towards the table, and saw that there was some kind of note. Twilight then read the note as she picked it up. (The Note) "A traumatic event is a sudden chill, welcome to the world of Silent Hill." "Silent Hill, what the heck is that," Twilight asked herself. Then she saw two other notes, one that seemed to be wrapped around something, and the other taped to a chair with a coat on it. Twilight picked up the first note. "The Cold Snow is where misery is born, wear the coat to keep yourself warm." So, without any hesitation, Twilight then put on the coat. "Oh, that feels much better," Twilight said as she felt the warmness of the coat start to envelop her. Then she see's the second note next to what appeared to be a Gun. Twilight then opened the note, that revealed a small Phonograph inside. "Hmm, this thing looks like it's seen better days," Twilight said to herself as she looked at the strange device. Then she read the note. "Fear never tires, for danger has easy detection, The Phonograph and your trusty fire-arm will be your only protection." "Huh, Protection, protection from what exactly," Twilight asked herself. "Well, that appears to be all the notes that I can find in here. I don't think there'll be anything else in here that could be considered valuable." And with that, Twilight opens the door to Sunset's house as she see's that the entire town looks abandoned. All that remains is white snow and silence that is a black and as ominous as the grave. (Will Continue in Chapter 2: A Freakish encounter, fight to survive).
