With smoke obviously coming out of his apartment, Cheese Sandwich seems to be in danger. Pinkie Pie does everything she can to rescue him!

Based on and similar to the Mickey Mouse short Fire Escape with some changes.

Set in the Pony Life world, Pinkie Pie is on her way to visit Cheese Sandwich in his apartment, due to the fact that he invited her over for dinner. But the apartment that Cheese Sandwich is in has smoke coming out from its window, causing Pinkie to believe that he is in serious danger, and attempt to do everything she can to save him.

This is my nineteenth overall story and the second to be a Pony Life story. Therefore it is not linked with Friendship is Magic stories, but linked with Pony Life stories.

I am still neutral with Cheese Sandwich x Pinkie Pie, and the only reason I chose them to star in this story is because I thought that they would fit the story more than the other characters of MLP.

Pinkie Pie was whistling as she walked through the streets. She was on her way to see Cheese Sandwich that very day. The pink pony then came across one of her dear old best friends Rarity.

"Oh, hi Rarity!" Pinkie Pie greeted.

"Hello to you too, BFF!" Rarity replied.

"I thought all of us were your BFFs!" Pinkie Pie reminded, "Me, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy..."

"Yes, yes, I know, darling. I just...forgot to say 'one of my' and pronounce an s!" Rarity explained, leaving Pinkie Pie confused as a pink question mark appeared over her head.

"I mean, I should have said, 'one of my BFFs'." Rarity clarified.

"Much better!" Pinkie Pie hugged Rarity, "You're one of my BFFs, too!"

"Anyway, what brings you here to this town of tall buildings city!" Rarity asked as she twirled, admiring the city they were in.

"Is this a city or a town or a town of tall buildings city?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"A city, just a city, dear. I was just describing it." Rarity explained.

"Of course you were, Rarity!" Pinkie Pie chirped.

"Back to the main question, what are you doing here?" Rarity asked.

"Well, Cheese Sandwich invited me to have dinner with him in his apartment here! Way on the top of that building!" Pinkie Pie answered.

"Oh, how generous of him!" Rarity replied.

"Yes indeed!" Pinkie Pe nodded, facing Rarity.

"And smoking hot." Rarity added.

"He sure is!" Pinkie Pie replied, before shaking her head vigorously, "Wait, wha?!"

"Oh yes, that stallion's on fire!" Rarity commented.

"On fire?! Are you out of your mind, Rarity?!" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Oh Pinkie, not only did you sleepwalk before, but you're now blind to smoke, and signs of fire." Rarity responded.

"I am not blind to smoke and signs of fire!" Pinkie Pie argued, standing on two hooves while her front hooves were placed on her waist.

"Oh really? Then do you see that?" Rarity asked, pointing a hoof at Cheese Sandwich's apartment.

This time, Pinkie did see the smoke bursting out of Cheese Sandwich's window.

"Fire?!" Pinkie Pie gasped.

"Yes, where there's smoke, there's fire." Rarity quoted.

Pinkie Pie screamed in horror, before jumping onto Rarity and telling the unicorn, "Rarity! Remain calm!"

However, the next action Pinkie did completely contradicted what she herself should be like, if she told Rarity the latest thing she said, as Pinkie anxiously slapped Rarity's face multiple times in a vigorous manner and panicked, "CALL FOR HELP!!!"

Pinkie Pie dashed off towards the building, while Rarity rushed to the nearest telephone, dialled a number, and dramatically cried, "Help!"

Back with Pinkie, she just reached the bottom of the building and looked up at the smoke-generating apartment that belonged to Cheese Sandwich.

"I'm coming, Cheesy!" Pinkie Pie called, facing up so that her voice would travel in the direction she needed it to go, in oder to alert Cheese Sandwich.

Pinkie then noticed an old, elderly pony walking towards the building. Quickly approaching the old pony, Pinkie told the former, "M'am, m'am, m'am, you cannot go in there! The building's on fire!"

Pinkie scrambled up the building, constantly shouting, "The building's on fire!" throughout her journey, startling the ponies there.

Pinkie then noticed a sleeping grown-up stallion wearing glasses despite his current activity. She quickly raced to the station's window, telling him, "Sir, wake up! The building's on fire!"

"Some pony just retired?" the stallion asked, waking up.

His question only triggered Pinkie to exclaim, "I said...THE BUILDING IS ON FIRE!"

This time, Pinkie's voice was heard by all the residents of the building (except for Cheese Sandwich), who quickly reacted by asking, "Fire?" followed by screaming in unison.

"This way, every pony!" Pinkie signalled, trying to get the ponies of the building to safety. Unfortunately for her, the ponies stampeded their way down the stairs, proving that thy never learnt any calm evacuation skills. Pinkie winded up flat as a pancake on the ground level, once the stampede was over.

More smoke came out of Cheese Sandwich's window, this time, darker and more widely-spread than before.

"I'm coming, Cheesey!" Pinkie Pie said weakly, getting up and back to the rescue mission.

Pinkie raced up the stairs, which unknown to her, were weakened from the stampede earlier. Just as Pinkie was going to reach the final set of stairs, the floor she was standing on crumbled and collapsed, causing a domino effect as it went down, breaking the rest of the platforms all the way to the bottom, taking Pinkie with it.

"Cheesy!" Pinkie cried, as she witnessed more smoke released from his window.

The crowd gasped as Cheese Sandwich was still in trouble, and without the stairs and platform, he could not get down since he did not have wings nor magic as an earth pony.

"Cheesy! I got to save him!" Pinkie Pie cried dramatically.

"But, what can you do?! You're an earth pony! You got no wings, no magic!" a mare asked Pinkie Pie.

"How are you going to get up there?" another mare asked.

Pinkie Pie thought for a while, before getting an idea, "Hang in there, Cheesy, because Pinkie Pie just got an idea to save you!"

The next thing they knew, the crowd watched Pinkie Pie blow up balloons to add to the balloons that her front right hoof was tied to, enabling her to float up to Cheese Sandwich's window.

"I'm coming, Cheesy!" Pinkie Pie said, struggling to fight off the smoke that threatened her breathing.

Finally, she succeeded in reaching her destination as she leapt through the window after untying herself to the balloons.

"Cheesy!" Pinkie Pie called with all her remaining might.

"Oh hi, Pinkie!" Cheese Sandwich greeted back, as the smoke simmered down, revealing that it was produced by Cheese Sandwich's burned food that he was cooking on a frying pan.

Pinkie Pie then looked around Cheese Sandwich's kitchen; it was a mess as there was bater splatted on the wall, a blender that was blending dough-coloured mixture in a liquid, and a cookbook titled, How To Cook For Beginners. The presence of all those signs obviously meant one thing; Cheese Sandwich was not good at cooking.

"Dinner's almost ready." Cheese Sandwich informed, just before a red-orange flame rose up from his frying pan, releasing more smoke. But he did not seem to mind as he giggled and told Pinkie "Have a seat."

Pinkie Pie speechlessly did as told, before Cheese Sandwich served her what he cooked; a completely burnt to black colour salad of leaves.

"Enjoy!" Cheese Sandwich told his guest, completely unaware of her obvious emotions of disgust and unwillingness to taste the burnt-black food.

Just then, the door opened as Rarity burst in with a pair of firefighters, one on her left, the other on her right. "Pinkie, I've brought help!"

As soon as Rarity finished her sentence, both firefighters fired jets of water from their hoses, getting Pinkie and Cheese Sandwich completely wet while blasting the burnt food away.

Once the water spraying was over, Pinkie Pie let out a nervous chuckle, "Hee hee!"
