Sunset Shimmer is about to find out first hand that sometimes the dead don't stay dead.

Sunset Shimmer was enjoying a nice and beautiful day until he stumbled upon an old abandoned school. She is told by her friend, Coco Pommel, that it was the old Crystal Prep Academy, and was told that the school had to close down after five students were murdered by an ax-wielding serial killer, while the lone survivor was later found dead after reportedly hanging herself in her own dorm room. Sunset and her friends went to the school to investigate. They at first heard minor things such as eerie footsteps and screams of terror coming from the hallways. When Sunset found a still-working sink to wash her hands after touching some mold. In the mirror, she saw in her reflection what appeared to be a girl with purple skin, glasses, and a noose around her neck. The girl looked like she was in great sorrow, when Sunset asked her who she was and why she was here, the ghost girl only replied with "Help Me" and disappeared. That made Sunset flee the area, but what she didn't know is that some of the ghosts followed her home. While Sunset and her friends have to deal with the sometimes mischievous spirits that followed them home, the ghost's killer is still at large adding more victims to his body count. Can Sunset solve this mystery, find the identity of the students killer, and help the spirits move on?

(Hello, everyone, it's so nice to see you all. My name is Grand Galvatron, and I will be your host for tonight's grand event or maybe your...ghost host. Even though it's not Halloween yet...well it's 4 months from Halloween, but that's not the point. What is important is that I'm going to share with all of you some of the scariest stories I have ever written as a fanfic writer. But before we start, however, I have a question to ask. What happens after we die? Do we go to a beautiful paradise? Do we just stay in the ground as maggots feed on our flesh and bones? Or, do we stay on this earth as a restless spirit, never hoping to find peace? Well, The last question is the main point of my first little tale. A story about 6 students that die tragically and can't seem to pass on to the afterlife. And worst of all, their killer is still at large, adding more victims to his body count. It's up to one teenager to help these spirits move on and to put their killer to justice. Well everyone, sit down, grab a snack, and drink as I tell you a story I like to call...THE HAUNTINGS OF CRYSTAL PREP!)

Prologue: The Next Victim

It was a beautiful day out in downtown Canterlot, and Cozy Glow, the friendliest kid in town was packing up her backpack so she could head on to school. "I heading to school Mommy," Cozy Glow said to her mother, Peppermint.

"Ok, sweetie, be sure to be back home by 5:00 p.m.," Peppermint said before Cozy Glow came out of the door.

"Oh, honey, aren't we just blessed that we have a daughter as cheerful as our little Cozy," Peppermint said to her husband Sugar Drop.

"Yes, we are my darling, she is such a joy to have in our home. She can just lighten anyone's day with a happy face like that," Sugardrop said. "What's even better is that I get to leave work early today. There's nothing that could ruin such a fine day like this."

Little did they know of the horrible tragedy that was about to change this once-happy family.

Just as Cozy Glow was about to reach the destination of her school, she noticed that the usual pathway she used was blocked by traffic, much to her annoyance. But luckily for her, she knew a fast shortcut, but it was a dead alleyway that had some shady people in there. But she took the risk since she had to get to her school.

As she was getting near the end, she heard what sounded to be a metallic screeching noise behind her. As she turned around, she saw a dirty-clothed stranger carrying a rusty ax, she couldn't see the man's face, as he was wearing some kind of weird-looking mask. But as she thought it was just some friendly homeless man, she went up to cheerfully greet him. "Hello mister, is there something I can do...for...you?" Cozy said as she saw the strange man raise his ax above his head and say, "Little girls shouldn't be wandering all by themselves. But don't worry little one, I'm about to make you beautiful." He said before finally swinging the ax down and as rusty metal met soft flesh.

("Death is Beautiful, Death is peace, Death is my work of art.")

Three Days Later.

Police Chief Shining Armor was near his work desk about to come home for the night when he heard the phone start to ring. He picked it up and said, "This is Shining Armor, Chief of Police, how may I help you?" On the other end of the phone, he heard someone crying hysterically and speaking in inaudible gibberish. "Miss, if you could calm down, I can find out what's wrong!" Shining Armor said before the caller finally spoke with words. "IT'S MY DAUGHTER! I HAVEN'T SEEN HER FOR THREE DAYS! (sniff), please, help us find my Cozy, PLEASE!" Peppermint said with absolute distraught. "Don't worry Ms. Peppermint, we will do anything in our power to find your daughter, I promise you that." Shining Armor said before hanging up.

The search went on for three whole days until someone smelled a stench that smelled like rotting flesh. As Shining Armor, two other officers, and Cozy's parents went to the scene, her mother could only scream in terror as she saw her daughter's severed head.

("For me, the only thing that makes me happy is beautiful death coming out of those miserable bodies. Oh, such glorious death.")
Chapter 1:The Legend Part 1: The Deal

It was early morning in Mapel Dv., and as the sun started to rise, the neighborhood rooster started its clucking. And like that, the entire town came to life. Everyone was greeting one another, children were playing, and dogs came to their owner's side. Everyone was awake and happy in this quiet neighborhood, well everyone except for Sunset Shimmer, who was in her bedroom, all the windows closed, sleeping like a baby.

"Snore...The golden ratio is one point six one eight three three nine eight..eight..seven...fivvvveee...snore...The definition of matter is anything that has mass and...takes up spacccceeee...snore."Sunset said as she was talking in her sleep again.

Her cat, Blaze, came over to her bedside and put a paw on her face to try and wake her up, but all Sunset said in a groggy voice was, "Mmm...An invertebrate is an animal without a backbone, some examples are insects, spiders,...scorpions,...centipedes...(snore)," She murmured with a smile on her face as she went back to her slumber.

Blaze then climbed onto Sunset's dresser and jumped on Sunset's chest, startling her awake. "AHHHHH, THE YEAR OF THE YELLOW FEVER WAS AUGUST OF 1793, IT CAUSED THE DEATHS OF 50,000...huh!" Sunset said as she saw she wasn't in school but in her bedroom.

"Oh, I was dreaming again huh, YAAAAWWWWNNNN, mornin everyone, thanks for waking me up Blaze," Sunset said, as she patted her cat on the head.

"Well, at least you're not sleep-walking this time," Sunset's father said. "Mmmm, wait, was I talking in my sleep again," Sunset asked her father.

"Yep, I think, since you were saying mathematical equations and definitions of words all night, I say you were having another knowledge dream, am I right?" Her father said.

"Yeah, I guess so. Well, I'm off to school, I already got breakfast with me." Sunset said as she got dressed, took her breakfast, and left the house for school. "Please be careful, dear," Sunset's mother said.

After school was over, Sunset was about to get on her motorcycle to head back home, when in the corner of her eye, she saw what appeared to be an old abandoned building. She then saw one of her best friends Coco Pomel and said, "Hey Coco, do you know what that old decrepit building over there is?"

"Sunset! Don't you know what building that is, that's the old Crystal Prep building," Coco Pommel said in utter terror. "You shouldn't go in there, people around here said that it's haunted!"

"Ha ha ha ha, ohh my gosh, Coco, you actually believe there are ghosts in there? I mean c'mon, you're messing with me aren't you?" Sunset said skeptically. Sunset didn't believe that ghosts existed because she was part of a family of thinkers. So if there was nothing she could see, hear, or feel then it wasn't real.

"I'm not joking, I heard that six of the students died in that building and I heard their ghosts still haunt it, it's so spooky, I don't like going in there by myself," Coco Pommel said.

"Well, how about I go in the old Crystal Prep building and if I don't find anything or witness any paranormal phenomena, you have to buy us both a pizza, do you agree on our little deal," Sunset asked. "Ohhhh, ok fine, we have a deal, but don't say I didn't tell you so. Coco said as she started walking away.

Chapter 1: The Legend. Part 2: The Terrible Truth

As Sunset climbed over the fence and stepped into the pavement of the old Crystal Prep school. She felt a strange vibe coming from the entire area as if someone was warning her not to go any further. But, Sunset put her fears aside and opened the doors to the run-down building. She first smelled a disgusting stench and saw graffiti all across the walls and floor.

"Man, couldn't someone have had better hygiene for this place. I don't want to have any diseases after I'm through with this." Sunset said as she stepped into the building. At first, she didn't see anything, other than graffiti on the walls and the pitter-patter of water. Then she noticed that everything looked exactly as how they left it as they had just not taken anything with them. She saw many desks in several of the classrooms, and the library section had all of its bookshelves intact, almost like something or someone had fixed and cleaned the shelves.

"Wow, I can't believe this, all the desks, lockers, and bookshelves look so clean, but people said that this place had been abandoned for many years." Sunset thought to herself.

Before she came here, she went to a museum to find out more about the school. She found out that after the suicide of a student named Twilight Sparkle, the school was finally forced to close down. But the headmaster, Abacus Cinch, would rather die than leave everything she had worked so hard to achieve. So, the historical records said that the Principal had killed herself by jumping off the roof of the school. People had found a note in her office that said after whenever she would die, she would haunt this school forever.

As she was thinking to herself, Sunset heard what sounded to be footsteps upstairs, and then heard a metallic screeching noise in one of the rooms. She looked and saw that one of the chairs had moved to a different location than where she originally saw it. And when she passed the Gymnasium, she heard what sounded like a basketball was being dribbled and thrown into a hoop, followed by what sounded like crying coming from the bleachers. This was all really weird, but she wasn't scared, Sunset was known to be someone who wouldn't scare easily. So, she continued exploring, until some dust got in her eyes and it made seeing anything very difficult, so she tried to see if there was a bathroom nearby, but when she went into a dorm room hallway, she saw that only one of the doors was open, which was room 305, the room that used to be Twilight Sparkle's room.

"Well, I'm sure no one's going to mind, it's not like anyone's watching me or anything," Sunset said, as she went inside the room. She was surprised to see that the sink inside the room was still working, so after she washed her hands and face when she looked up at the mirror after drying herself off, She stopped dead in her tracks and her blood ran cold when she saw a face peeking out right behind her. It looked sad and frightened. Sunset saw that its eyes were completely black and there was a red ooze coming out of her eyes, almost like she was crying tears of blood. Sunset also saw that there was a noose around her neck. Sunset then said,

"Hello? Who are you? What do you want?" Sunset asked.

At first, the girl said nothing as she continued to stare at Sunset, then the spirit said, in a gentle and quiet voice, "Help me." Sunset had finally had enough and ran out of the dorm room as quickly as possible. She didn't want to know what it wanted, she just kept running and never looked back.

When she finally came home, she raced towards her room, as she tried to calm herself, tried to understand what she had just seen, but she couldn't think of anything logical to comprehend. Her eyes weren't playing tricks on her, Sunset Shimmer had just seen a real-life ghost.

"Hey Aria, don't you think you had enough for tonight," Limestone Pie, The head manager of the Stone Pie Bar and Casino said to Aria Blaze, who had just drunk her 6th cup of whiskey.

"Hey! You listen to *hic* me, you little dipshit, I'll tell you when I've had enough, so just *hic* shut up and leave me alone!" Aria Blaze slurred in a loud and rude tone of voice, she was really, really, really drunk. Since Aria was Limestone's most popular customer, she had learned to get used to Aria's rude behavior.

"Hold on, I need to *hic* use the ladies room, if you take my cup of whiskey, I'm gonna bust your *hic* ass in this here bar." Aria sneered as she wobbled towards the restroom, well first hit a wall and told the very same wall to go f off before she finally went into the restroom. "Well, finally, I thought that she would never shut up, this gives me a little time to do some cleaning." Limestone said as she turned around to clean some cups on the shelves behind her. Little did she know that a man in a suit came over and sprinkled something into Aria's drink, then, after stirring it with a spoon the man left as quickly as he came.

"Ha, Limmie, I knew that you would *hic* never take my drink, you really saved yourself a lot of trouble," Aria said to Limestone, with a stupified smile on her face. "Well, down the *hic* fukin hatch," Aria said as she drank the cup of Whisky.

"Hey, Limestone, what did you *hic* put in my drink, I feel really dizzy and...yawwwnn, reallt...really...tired all of...a...(snore)," Aria murmured as she finally fell into a deep peaceful sleep. The man in the suit came over to Limestone and said, "Hello, I'm a good friend of Aria, you don't mind if I take her home." "Sure, saves me the trouble calling Adagio over here." Limestone said as the man took the snoring Aria Blaze out of the bar.

5 hours later

Aria, still as drunk as ever, woke up in an alleyway she did not recognize. "Hey, who are you, this *hic* isn't the bar, take me back to the bar or I'll," Her thoughts were cut when a knife dug into her throat. Aria tried to scream, but her mouth was full of too much blood. The man then slid the knife through her throat. As Aria was gasping for breath, she murmured, "Adagio...Sonata...someone...help...me," before finally dying. The Ax-Man then admired his latest handiwork, before leaving Aria's lifeless body in the alleyway.

Chapter 2: The Paranormal Occurrences (Updated)

View Online

Later on that night, Sunset Shimmer was in her bed, trying her best to fall asleep, but she couldn't get the image of the girl's face out of her mind. She had always been a skeptic, and never really believed in ghosts or the supernatural. But what she saw in the mirror's reflection was something she could not debunk. She did not tell her parents about what she had seen, because they would obviously not believe her and would start worrying about her mental health. She tried everything, from reading a book to drinking a nice warm glass of milk. But the image of the ghost girl, even though she didn't appear to be malevolent, terrified her to her very core.

That's when she started hearing something in the hallway outside her room. She started hearing footsteps heading towards her room, but they stopped once they got to her door. Someone or something began to knock on the door, but when it didn’t get any answer the doorknob started to turn. Sunset had locked the door before going to bed, thus the door didn't open. Then Sunset felt a cold chill cascade down her spine as the doorknob continued to turn side by side until the doorknob suddenly stopped, then something that made Sunset’s blood really run cold was the sound of the door unlocking. The door slowly opened with a low creak to reveal the dark and empty hallway. Nobody was standing there, even as footsteps were heard walking inside the room.

Sunset hid under her duvet as best as she could as the footsteps approached her bed and something sat down on her bed. Mustering up all the courage she had, Sunset peeked out from the safety of the duvet, but regret followed soon after as what she saw froze her in place. The same girl she had seen in the mirror earlier that day was now sitting on her bed. The girl had noticed Sunset’s action and looked directly at her. Before Sunset could as much consider the thought of running out of the room the girl lifted one of her hands up to her face and put her index finger vertically over her mouth, gesturing Sunset to be quiet. Sunset found herself unable to do anything except staring as this happened and before she could even fully process the figure stood up from her bed again.

“Sorry for disturbing you.” she said as she turned around and walked towards the door.

The door was closed and the unmistakable click of the door locking echoed through the room. Sunset just stared for what felt like hours before her eyes rolled back and she fainted.

Morning broke, and Sunset's alarm clock roared like a storm siren, which startled her awake. Sunset always hated that alarm clock, and she wished she could just rip that little beeping nuisance into little pieces.

"Ugggh, stupid alarm, one of these days I'm gonna ask my parents to get me a much quieter clock," Sunset thought to herself.

After a few moments the events of last night came back to Sunset and after looking around out of a short adrenaline rush, she shook it off as her imagination having played a twisted joke on her.

She went down to the kitchen to prepare her breakfast when something stopped her dead in her tracks, she saw that her breakfast had already been prepared, with orange juice included. She first thought that her parents made her breakfast before she woke up, but upon peeking into her parent's room she saw that they were fast asleep. To say that Sunset was confused was an understatement, but she ate her breakfast anyhow. While eating she decided to go to the museum to find out more about Crystal Preps' history. So, when she was done eating she got changed and headed out towards the museum, unaware that a ghostly face was watching her from the shadows, whispering in a soft voice, "She's the one who can avenge us."

Chapter 3 Prologue: Next Victim (Sonata Dusk)

View Online

Sonata Dusk was attending the Canterlot High Homecoming Festival. Even though her sister, Adagio, told her that she couldn't go to the party because of her fear of what happened to Aria, Sonata escaped by climbing out her Bedroom window while Adagio was asleep, and went with her boyfriend, Solar Eclipse to attend the party.

"Cmon Sonata, don't you want a taste of whiskey before the party starts," Her boyfriend asks.

"I'm sorry, I wish I could, but I don't really like how alcohol tastes," Sonata said. "A water bottle would be nice."

"Alright, I'll go get you some water," Solar Eclipse says as he went to the concession stand to get some water for her.

"I don't know why Adagio was so worried about me coming to the party, it's not like anythings going to happen tonight.

However, what Sonata didn't know was that a man was quietly creeping behind her, and putting a liquid-like substance into her food.

"Hey Sonata, I'm back," Solar Eclipse said as he gave her the water bottle. "Mind if we eat our dinner before we start to dance?"

"Sure, I'm already starving as it is," Sonata said as they both started eating their meals.

At first nothing out of the ordinary happened during the festival, but soon after both Sonata and her boyfriend were nearly done with their meals, Sonata let out a quiet cough.

"Hey Sonata, are you feeling well," Solar Eclipse asked. "You're face looks a little pale, you need me to drive you home?"

"N-no, I'm fi...," Sonata tried to say before she went into another coughing fit.

Suddenly, she collapsed on the dance-floor and started convulsing rapidly.

"Sonata, what's wrong," Solar Eclipse said as he was starting to get worried.

"C-C-Can't...B-Breathe," Sonata said as she struggled to breathe, but something was constricting her throat and lungs, preventing any air from going into her body.

Then, after mere seconds of convulsions, Sonata finally laid still, Solar Eclipse went to Sonata to see if she was ok, only realize that...she wasn't breathing.

"Ok Sonata, jokes over, you can wake up now," Solar said as he tried to wake her up.

"Sonata, please wake up, you're scaring me," Solar said.

"SOMEONE, PLEASE HELP," Solar yelled, getting the other people's attention. "SOMEONE CALL THE NURSE, SHE ISN'T BREATHING!"

At 10:10 pm on Friday, Sonata Dusk was pronounced dead at the scene. When police officers investigated the scene of the crime, they found Sonata's half-eaten dinner, and once it wa brought to forensics, they found traces of Hydrogen Cyanide in her food, which mean't that she had suffered a slow and painful death.

"Hydrogen Cyanide, very powerful neurotoxin, poor girl didn't stand a chance," One of the Forensic people said.

It was 1:00 in the morning when a loud knocking on the door startled Adagio awake.

"(Yawwwnn) Don't worry, I'm coming," Adagio said in a groggy voice.

As soon as Adagio opened the door, she saw three police officers standing outside.

"Hello, officer, is anything the matter," Adagio asked with tired looking eyes.

"Are you the sister of Sonata Dusk," The officer said.

"Umm, yes, why do you ask," Adagio said with a face of worry. "Did something happen, she should be in her room asleep."

"I'm so sorry that I have to tell you this, we found you're sister dead in Canterlot High," The Officer said.

Adagio felt her heart stop when she heard that.

"N-No, what are you talking about," Adagio said as she started to shed tears.

"You're sister died from a large dose of Hydrogen Cyanide that was found in the food she ate at the time," The Officer said.

"YOU BETTER NOT BE FUCKING WITH ME," Adagio screamed. "I'VE ALREADY LOST ONE SISTER, I'M NOT GOING LOSE THE OTHER ONE!"

"You two, I think it's best for her to see her sister's body," The officer said as the two other officers went into an ambulance and came out, pulling a gurney carrying a body-bag.

When Adagio saw her sisters life-less body, she let out a scream of anguish as she cried over Sonata's dead body.

"However, we also saw this individual with her at the scene of the crime," The Officer said as they brought Solar Eclipse out of a squad car.

"PLEASE, I DIDN'T DO IT, I SWEAR," Solar screamed as he pleaded to the officer.

"Solar Eclipse, WHAT IN THE HELL DID YOU DO TO MY SISTER," Adagio screamed in rage as she tried to throttle him, but it all three officers to keep her from tearing Solar Eclipse apart. "YOU BASTARD, I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

And like that, Solar Eclipse was arrested for the crime he didn't commit, and without any evidence to prove his innocence, Solar Eclipse was sentenced to life in prison with a possibility of parole in 20 years.

Unfortunately for poor Adagio, she had become a mentally broken wreck from grief over the loss of her sisters and even though she still went to Canterlot High, she was treated as an outcast by the other students due to her rambling on about how her sisters are dead and that she was now truly alone.

Nearby, the true killer looked at the results of his handi-work with a sadistic grin on his face as he then contemplated a plan for his next victim in the future.

Chapter 3: The Experiment, Revelation

It was late one night, and after Sunset had gotten into her pajamas, she had gotten two night-vision cameras at the nearby department store. She had placed one in the living room and the other in her bedroom. She just wanted to make sure that she wasn’t going completely crazy.

She had also gotten an audio recorder that she had in the living room, just to see if she could pick up any voices that may come through it.

So, after installing all the equipment, Sunset then went to the bathroom to brush her teeth, and soon after, she went into her bedroom and fell asleep.

However, what Sunset didn’t know was that she would be visited by the Ghost Girl she saw at Crystal Prep, but another far more malevolent entity would make its presence known.

(The Experiment begins)

(Time 11:00 P.M.)

The House is silent, with only the noises of Chirping Crickets and Croaking of Frogs from outside. But other than that, nothing unusual occurs at first.

(Time: midnight.)

At first, the house is still silent, but the silence is then interrupted by the sound of footsteps being heard in the living room.

Then, the rocking chair in the living room starts rocking back and forth by itself.

Through the recorder, a disembodied voice can be heard, almost like a disembodied crying sound.

Then, a purple ball of light, followed by a teen-sized shadow figure appears in front of the camera as it is looking to the right, then turns to face the camera.

Then a voice could be heard whispering, “Hello.”

Then one of the kitchen cabinets slowly opened by itself, as kitchen utensils floated out of the cabinet.

Then, to the left of the camera, a long-fingered hand could be seen phasing through the door as it was reaching out for something.
Then a devilish voice could be heard saying, “The sleeping child’s soul will be mine tonight.”

Then the full shadow figure came through the door on all fours. The shadow also had red-glowing eyes.

Then before the evil entity could go any further, the glowing orb of purple light appeared as its light intensified.

A loud screech could be heard, almost as if the evil entity was screaming in pain from the bright light as it bolted out of the house.

Then, the orb hovered at the camera as a voice could be heard saying, “It won’t be the last, more evil spirits will be coming soon.”

2:00 am.

The sounds of Kitchen utensils can be heard as if someone is preparing food followed by a gentle humming.

Sunset was in her room, snoring as she was fast asleep.

As she was sleeping, she then felt a tap on her shoulder.

“N-No mom, it’s too early, let me sleep,” Sunset sleepily murmured as she slowly tossed and turned in her bed to a more comfortable position. Sunset then continued in her slumber.

She then felt the tapping on her shoulder again.

“Mmm, Mom what is it,” Sunset murmured as she squinted her eyes open.

Sunset then saw a girl standing right next to her.

This girl had leafy green hair and she had freckles on her face.

But the most defining feature was that her face was disfigured, almost like her face had been scarred with acid.

This girl had a face full of disdain and anger like she was angry at the world.

The Ghost Girl then began to moan at Sunset, almost like she was screaming at her, it was the loudest thing Sunset had ever heard.

Sunset screamed in fear as she hid under her covers, however, when she got out of the covers the Ghost Girl had disappeared.

Sunset couldn’t sleep anymore that night cause of that frightening encounter.

(The next morning)

Sunset walked into the kitchen and saw that there was a plate of scrambled eggs bacon and toast on the kitchen table.

Sunset thought that it was the friendly spirit that she had encountered on numerous occasions.

Thank you for the breakfast, I appreciate it,” Sunset said.

Since it was a Saturday, she didn’t have to go to school, so she stayed home and watched the Canterlot News Network since she loved watching the news.

“In this news story, there have been reports of a man that has been found dead in an alley-way,” The News Anchor said. “People found his body placed in a ritualistic fashion, leading us to believe that he was a member of the Canterlot Hellfire Club, a secret society that has been reported to partake in satanic rituals and even performs not only animal but human sacrifices.”

“DNA autopsies have confirmed that this man was the perpetrator responsible for a string of murders that occurred in the old Crystal Prep Academy, which has been reported to be haunted by the spirits of teachers and students that died in the school premises,” The News Anchor said.

This made Sunset freeze, the murderer had killed himself, and he was also a devil-worshipper. This left Sunset to believe that the students that were murdered were done so in Satanic ritualism, which could be why they couldn’t move on, even if their killer was dead.

Sunset then left to find out more history regarding the school, however, what Sunset didn’t realize was that a tall shadow figure entered Sunset’s house.

The entity’s eyes were as black as coal, and its teeth were rotten and jagged.

“The fool,” The entity sneered. “She thinks it’s all over just because I died. She will soon know that my work will continue. She’ll find out, and when she does, I will make her suffer, I will make her family suffer.”

The Evil Spirit of the Ax-Man gave out a wicked cackle as he then disappeared into the closet of the house.
