Faceless One

This is a tale of wrought and destruction and a name that none can remember.

I am in a lost land unsure of its language and unsure of what to do. Maybe this Ce-les-tia person can give me the answers i need. Still everything i was and am don't seem to apply here and the strange creatures look so tiny.

Introductions are in order. That is how this writing goes right? I'm never too sure how to start something like this. Well let me start by saying I'm not well known. As a matter of fact those who do know me fear me. With good intentions I suppose. Those who know of me tend not to live long. Is it too much to ask for companionship every now and then? I mean in my line of work you work alone. Ohh did I forget to mention that I am one of the many protector of an unseen world one that many would try to abuse. In this world we hold many secrets of how both places came to be. This information is held in a tome that sits in the midst of where both worlds collide. My family were given the sole mission of keeping this tome safe and guarding the unseen world at the same time. My Family has been the guardians ever since the world came to be. We were given Immortality to ensure that we would always protect. Always duty and honor came first. Nothing else mattered in the family. There are vows that we have taken to ensure that we would never sway from the path of the guardian.

" I vow that always will I be vigilant in my task, that I shall never leave my post nor abandon my tasks, that death may grant me honor to never die and to kill to protect serve and guard that which never be read by the likes of any mortal. I do so swear that if ever i break my vows that my life be forfeit. Honor shall be my cloak, duty my sword and darkness my armor and my master." Those are the words that we the Faceless Ones have taken. The oath that we took. We were newborn and knew no better. My father and mother do not question it. My sister is too obsessed with killing any and everything or torturing it to death. She takes delight in it all. I cannot say the same. I feel so empty inside like I was never really born at all. This land I protect has nothing for me here. I dare not abandon my post, my duty. I was never given a name. We all came up with names except me. My dad was Duke, my mom Mary and my sis Valentine. Weird huh? Then again she is a masochist and a sadist. Never trusted her and I never will.

Looking at the tomb always made me uneasy. I mean for eons we've been guarding it and protecting it and making sure no mortal ever lived to see it or stay alive in our territory, It's almost like were wolves guarding our territory. It's actually rather ridiculous on how many visitors we have. In the last few centuries we've had an increase in mortals. These newer ones resemble small little ponies. Most are wizards desiring knowledge but every know and then a poor lost soul comes bumbling through only to have their soul devoured by us and then then we chop off their head. It is the most peaceful way to kill mortals. However my sis she wanders around the land wearing crude weapons some are sharped curved blades others with blunted ends meant to crush the bones inwards. It can be heard when she has made a kill throughout the land she gives a terrifying screech that vibrates within the soul. To us it is more of a roar but to anyone else it paralyzes them rendering them neigh useless.

"Come now little brother staring off to space while prey awaits us is unkind to the fodder." As my sister said these words she slapped me on the back waking me from my daze. As I looked to her she stood like a tall slender giant adorned in her favorite leather armor painted a midnight black. On her back a sledgehammer and a spiked mace hung, while her hip held her favorite weapon the scimitars swung almost freely on her hips and by her knees two knives on each leg was firmly strapped. If she had a face you could see the blood curling smile that sent a chill down your spine. Upon her face was a scar of pure red as if it was a fresh cut, she did it to herself blood frenzy as she took her first kill. It was a bloody mess. I remember that day. It was our first century. None of us expected it. An Ursa Major came rushing through our forest it was one hell of a fight. Then we had not figured out how to forge steel so we had stone swords and spears. My sis and my and mother had the spears while me and my father used the swords. Then we wore small tree woven clothes. Me and father charged the beast headfirst cutting its legs deeply. Then we quickly dashed away only to just barely evade the Ursa's huge swipe form its paw. Once again we rushed in this time cutting deep into his left foreleg. The Ursa let out a huge roar and swiped both me and my father to the ground knocking the wind out of both of us. Then that's when I saw Valentine chuck her spear right into it's eye and the bear roared in pain and stood on its hind legs. Then she grabbed both fallen swords and began to furiously cut at it's hind legs ripping them to shreds and with each cut the blade's came increasingly closer to cutting off the hind legs. She dashed through and fro from the bear slicing and cutting incisions into the bear. Then with a giant swing she cut off the right hind leg. Then she dashed over to left leg and lopped it off with a cleaving blow. The bear with the lost of both legs it was standing and fell to the ground that let out a huge earthquake and sat there with a pitiful look of dismissal. The bear still alive had given up hope on fighting back anymore and had resigned its fate. Then my sis climbed up on it's back and with a blood shrieking scream she plunged the blades deep into the Ursa's brain. Then she began to plunge the swords into the Ursa over and over again. She began to laugh manically as the swords bathed deeply into the blood of the giant bear. All we could do was watch in astonishment as she cut in and out of the bear. None of us dared to interrupt her for fear that in her blood rage she would direct it to us. My father looked to her with beaming pride, but I looked on with horror. How could anyone kill so ruthlessly.

"Brother snap out of it you dipshit!" With that Valentine punched my violently on the shoulder waking me again from my daze.

"Dear sister, I do hope your not going to go into frenzy and try to kill me again, because the last time we fought for nine hours and it only concluded when I pummeled your ass into the ground."

"Ohh come now we both know that you got lucky with that shot to the ribs with your gauntlet. I would have won had it not been for that."

"That's bullshit and you know it that fight was mine I have always been the strongest of the family and all of us know it."

" Ohh I bet you think your tough shit don't you??"

"Fuck you just kill the fucking intruder already."

"Don't fucking rush me bitch I know what the fuck I'm doing so give me my space."

"Just do it already you dumb bitch!" Just as i had finished my words Valentine walked up to the intruder. The intruder looked like a small unicorn here to unravel secrets no doubt. He tried to talk to sis but his words were jumbled and in another tongue we didn't know.

"So little brother what shall we do with this one? Drain his soul and give him a painless death, or maybe we should chop off his limbs one by one, or maybe we should flay his skin from him and roast him over a spitfire slowly letting his body slowly melt away. No that sounds too merciful. I plan on having him suffer just for me entertainment." With a maniacal laugh Valentine approached the unwanted visitor. The pony shivered in pure terror as it saw that it had met its demise.

As Valentine grabbed him by his mane dragging him across the ground he screamed in hopes that somepony, anypony would save but his attempts were futile. Tired of hearing his pathetic whining Valentine gave him a swift blow to the head knocking him unconscious. She then threw him on her shoulder looking at me.

"Pathetic little things aren't they? They squeal like little pigs backing from a slaughter eh?"

Ohh and you know all about killing defenseless animals don't you now?? My sister the pig slayer hmm? I'm sure that sends shivers down all your enemies spines." I chortled at her with amusement and quickly ducked a wild right hook from her and bounced back hands up. " Come now sister being so violent is so uncivil of you why can't we just get along?"

"Because you are an arrogant prick who needs to be taught a lesson to treat me better as your sister and to keep your childish annoying thoughts to yourself." As she said this she rushed me bombarding me with jabs, and hooks all to which i ducked and weaved away from effortlessly. As she cocked her arm back for a haymaker i quickly thrusted

my fist into her collarbone while smoothly striking her throat seconds afterwards. She grabbed her neck staggering backwards. I then picked up momentum and kicked her in the ribs and then swiftly knocking her off her feet. As she fell to the ground i stood above her and picked her up only to slam her back into the ground leaving an indent into the ground. I jumped back to just barely avoid the swipe of her bladed mace. She got up slowly with dark waves emitting from her.

" Now now now sister aren't we getting serious? Isn't this just splendid were having bonding time!" As i jumped with exaggerated glee that i did not have. Then I noticed that the pony had slowly stirred.

" Celestia save me from this hell." I heard him say yet all I understood was "Ce-les-tia" it sounded awkward like some sort of place or maybe a person. I barely had time to duck as I heard the sound of whoosh and the mace passed over almost grazing me. I slid away from her reach attempting to reason with her.

"Sister the creature is awake! We must tend to it before it gets away!" As i tried to reason with her i could her rage emitting from her body. " Shit i won't be able to get through to her in time " I thought aloud to myself while jumping away from my sister. Then i noticed the creature chanting something. " Valentine stop now we must kill the creature!" Blinded with rage she only charged onwards towards me with contempt and rage. Then the creature finished his chanting and opened up some sort of strange like door.

"Equestria, i'll never leave again." As he said these words, the words i could only hear but not understand, he moved towards the strange door. I knew that this door lead me to where he came from I was filled with dread that our world would be endangered by a petty argument between my sister and me. I was filled with anticipation as a whole new world to explore was opened up to me. This was a chance in the lifetime that I knew that I couldn't pass up. As he walked through the door it slowly began to close but not before i made a series of jumps and leaps right through the door as it closed. Then suddenly with a blast of magic i fell to the ground my eyes burning from the sudden exposure to the light. "MY EYES!!! Holy shit i've got eyes! what the hell is this!?" I screamed and throttled on the ground the exposure to color and light searing my mind.

"Well this certainly is an awkward welcome to Equestria but to be fair you were trying to kill me. Celestia be praised that i made it out of that dark hellhole. Well then hope you can find your way around here sadly i have to go so let's hope you die??" All that rambling and still the only thing that made sense was Ce-les-tia and i was still writhing in pain. I managed to pry my newfound eyes momentarily only to see him poofing away. The questions running through my mind were mainly where I was. But most importantly maybe this Ce-les-tia could answer my questions.

"Ugh I feel like shit" I looked around with the eyes I was just given moments ago. Everything was so bright that it was hard to tell what was what. I closed my eyes and felt the world around as I had always done before I had eyes. I felt the vibrations of life around me each thing emitting a wave of energy. The bigger the object the more energy I felt from it but as I felt the waves of energy it started to become overwhelming. There was so much life within the small radius of where I stood that it became overwhelming so I just opened my eyes again to get a better understanding of where I was. Suddenly the pain in my eyes began to dull and my eyes adjusted to the light and I was washed with beauty. The tree stood in front of me branches procuring from it and leaves growing from them and the color of it was simply divine. I had never before seen color or miniscule descriptions of my surroundings as I had now. It was the first thing I had seen that did not hurt me and i adored it like a musician adores music or an artist adores artwork. I was awestruck by such grace and I could only gawk at something so plain yet so define. I could see the grooves within the tree working way smaller holes to which smaller creatures walked upon the tree in search of food perhaps. These creatures were smaller than the leaves on the tree and had tiny antennas protruding from their head. They looked so weird yet as I attempted to grab one as soon as my hand brushed against it, it lifelessly fell to the ground never to live again. I picked it up with my hand and almost cried. Tear welling upon my eyes,

" What had this creature done to deserve death? It simply lived and was probably looking for food to take to it's family. Now that it is dead who will now take food to it?" Guilt had overridden my conscious. I looked around desperately for food to feed them and found a bushel of strange looking berries. As i walked over to them to pluck one my hand touched the bushel and the entire thing fell away and withered like death had taken hold of it.

" Oh no. I'm a monster to kill with the slight of a touch. Why am i cursed to kill all that is around me!" I cried aloud pathetically. Me, a guardian of a secret world reduced to tears by a mere bushel. What were these strange feelings taken a hold of me in such weird ways? It felt like a burning hot liquid was burning deep within me like inside me was the core to a volcano. I felt a weird sensation growing in my chest and a warmth started to run within me creating my body to feel a strange heat circulating it.

" What is this? What is happening to me? That creature did something to me!" I looked at my hands, dark sinewy and almost transparent they began to change I could feel them liven as they became solid filled with life my entire body slowly followed. Fear was pumping through me as my entire body felt the sick working of it becoming solid and worst of all mortal.

"That must be it, I am becoming a mortal because I have left our land?" Many questions raced across my mind. I needed to find my way back home. Every second not there increases the danger to our land. Then suddenly it dawned on me. Maybe this Ce-les-tia person knew a way out of here. Only one way to tell. I wiped the tears from my eyes no use in crying when my family needed me back home. As I looked around me I could see that I was surrounded in a forest filled with dark trees and strange sets of eyes surrounded it unnerved. I could then hear growling surrounding all around me and found that strange wood-like wolves surrounded me from all sides and they appeared to have a never ending number of them coming from some of the trees and some from the darkness and more from bushes. More and more of them came to flock around me as if I was a sheep and they were bandits lured in by treasure. This wasn't going to end well. I reached for where my sword would normally be and realized as I grabbed for it that I had left it at home. " Shit this day can't get any worse can it?" I looked for any escape but there was no way out. I would have to punch straight through them and hopefully find a gap to escape them. It was a terrible plan but it was the only one that seemed to fit perfectly unless praying to some all powerful being to shine down mercy upon me. Hey worth a shot right?

" Dear omnipotent and powerful being that certainly must exist, please save me and send me that pony too so i can kill him and can you send me home also, uhh i guess you can just put that on my tab or whatever it is that pretty much means IOU. Umm, yeah that's it and the wolves are still there." I looked up towards the sky raising my voice," Would it killl you to at least give me a weapon??" Yet again nothing stopped the advancement of the endless army of tree wolves closing the distance.

" Yea that didn't work guess miracles are too overrated for him. Always knew payers didn't wor-" I was cut off by a wild leap of one of the wolves trying to get his chow on before i was ready. Woah, calm down there buddy I'll get to killing you all in a minute can you give me to just like mentally prepare myself??" My question was answer by another wild leap. "Guess not huh?" Another wolf jumped only to receive my fist through his mouth and out of his throat an orange-like substance covered my hand that felt like sap on my fingers. I grimaced as I pulled out of him only to have three other wolves pounce on my at the same time to which I delivered three quick blows to each of their chests leaving huge gaping holes where I struck them. Soon it became a game of inevitable defeat. A jump here, a punch here more of the sap-like stuff spewing all over the place. The bodies built up around creating a mound of bodies of the wolves that attacked. That's when i started to get tired. Which was weird it felt like my body was wearing out so soon. It had to be true I had to have become a mortal and was limited to only so much now. That's when it started to escalate. The wolves still kept coming in endless waves. Then i felt one dig it's claw into my back to which he was rewarded with an elbow to the face decapitating him. Then one of the bite my shoulder while another my leg. I spun in a hurricane like move shrugging them all off and drove my hand through all of them but this time there where no gaping holes just indents to where my fist landed. I was becoming tired quickly and the mound of bodies served as a prison wall keeping me in. Still I kept punching and twirling to kill as many as possible. My movements started to slow down and become more sluggish exhaustion taking it's toll on me. They managed to claw my back and both my legs. I kicked them away only to stumble on a body and fall backwards. They swarmed me like vultures jumping on me all at once overwhelming. I could feel their hot filthy salvia drip over and the fangs sinking into my flesh and suddenly my eyes glowed with a dark black filling them to the brim full of power, my body radiated with a dark waves of energy and released it in a huge circle expanding outwards, incinerating all that stood in it's way. As my body finished releasing the energy the glowing dimmed and faded away. Then I slowly drifted into unconsciousness.

The Darkness

A/N:This chapter ties in with my other story A Lost Entity. It is recommended that you read this before going any further in the story. Sorry for the confusion and I am now having jediinc proofread my stuff if you have the time you should check him out. Thanks again for all the comments and the tips.

I died. Sounds rather dark when you say it. No matter how you say it still has the same dark message. I passed away, I concluded life's journey, I slept for the last time. All of that pretty much still means I'm dead. You can decorate all you like, it's still the same. What!? Your disappointed that it ends here? Naw, this is just starting to get good. Just pay attention this is where it gets good.

As my body lay still I felt it being dragged downwards as if to hell. There I met him, he stood there just as confused as me. He was resembled a Unicorn and a Pegasus together. He looked at me with confusion in his eyes. " Where am I?"

I looked at him lost. I mean I was the one dragged her from death and he doesn't knows what's going on? I thought he was the responsible for me being here. Weirdly enough I understand him too. It was nice to finally communicate with someone, even if it was some weird lost pony. Damn this still creates far too many questions and no answers. "Who are you?" I asked hopeful that I could learn something from him.

" I-I don't know. Don't you?"

"Nope, pretty sure I'm dead and that this is the first time meeting you, ever."

"You, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be guarding the tome?" A strange shadow like being spoke with no mouth and then it clicked in my mind.

" The Darkness! Our Creator it cannot be you?"

"Chronic, what the hell is he talking about?"

"Urr, well you see, this is quite awkward myself to not be able to answer you. I can only confirm that what he says about you is true. I cannot tell you anything, he on the other hand can."

"Sir, whatever you are tell me who I am."

" This is no joke? Forgive me, of course it isn't I am just a little amazed to see you again. You have taken on a different form since last we met. It has been eons since our last meeting. I am one of the four Guardians that are given the task to protect the tome and its locations whereabouts. You gave me and my family this responsibility."

"The Garden is safe correct?" Chronic budged in insistent on an answer.

"Well no it isn't a unicorn found his way there and escaped back to his homeland where I followed to which he turned me mortal and then I was assaulted by an army of tree wolves of some sort."

"Ahh you must mean the timber wolves. I see and you have died hmm? That won't do."

" I still have questions for him Chronic. Tell me what is your name guardian?"

"I have no name only a title that me and my family share. We are called the Faceless Ones."

"I see, you also called me The Darkness, is that my name?"

"No, it is a title like mine. However in the tome it may be written in there of your name. I am unsure of where you might find the way into the Garden unfortunately. I am sorry I couldn't be of more assistance."

"No you have been of plenty of help already. I only wish to reward you for your help. Chronic is there something we can do for him?"

"Of course he is under your direct power should you will it I can give him back his life and something more maybe? An enchanted sword would not be unreasonable."

" Well then don't keep him waiting. He has a mission to accomplish let us not keep him any longer."

Darkness washed over me and healed my wounds. I could feel them leave and thought aloud. "I just met the creator. Never thought we would ever hear from him again." In my hand a sheathed sword appeared and on my right hand a gauntlet appeared on it. The gauntlet was jet black and at the end of each fingertip were claws as sharp as a blade. The sheath of the sword was a rich silver, that had dark figures engraved upon it. Hmm not bad, Valentine would definitely be very jealous.

I opened my eyes to find myself in a huge ditch that I created. I grabbed for my weapon to find my new sword hanging and my gauntlet firmly strapped onto my hand. I unsheathed the sword and instantly a shadowy flame engulfed. I also felt whispers in the back of my mind. I then began to see me standing across from me joined by another and another, till soon i was surrounded by me. The whispers were becoming painfully loud and it made no sense as it sounded like the same gibberish i had heard from the unicorn who had put me here. My body began to waver back and forth, my hands shaking violently and the sword was vibrating in my hand with power. I quickly realized the blade was the cause of this and quickly sheathed it and the voices left with it. I stopped shaking as well and slowly the circle of me's dissipated away. I fell to the ground feeling exhausted from the strain the sword put me in.

"Well never going to use that again." I slowly found my bearings and picked myself up. I had a long trek ahead of me and it would get more dangerous.

Seed of Insanity

With my new weapon and gauntlet I rolled my shoulder's flexing out my once dead body. I could feel my shadow like body bending backward inhumanly as I found myself looking in between my own legs. Then I snapped back into place raising my arms far above my head reaching outwards to nothing in particular. I felt a huge difference in my body. As I tried to open my eyes I noticed that they were no longer there. I also noticed that my all my power had returned to me.

"Back to sensing with my enhanced hearing." I said to no one in particular. With my improved hearing I could see my surroundings much of the same way that a bat does. My supersonic hearing was weak, unfortunately due to the lack of usage. I couldn't see very far but it was enough to get by for now. The trees around me gave shape in my mind but everything lacked color and for that I actually missed my eyes. I touched my face with my hand relishing in the smooth blankness of it.

As I took stared walking forward with no direction in my mind I began to reflect on the recent incidents. I was taken away from home by a random unicorn then,I went through the worst pain possible as my body changed into a mortal state and was given eyes. For once I could see the world around me with it's wonderful color. Now I was back to being trapped within this colorless vision. Everything grey lacking color. How would I explain this to my family? Do they know that I am missing? Do they even care? What if they are better of without me? No I can't question myself like this, I had to protect the Garden that was now in danger. My family could take care of themselves, regardless my duty came above everything. I had a duty that I needed to fulfill. My creator had given me his blessing and gave me back my immortal body and returned my powers tenfold. Yet I couldn't help but feel unsatisfied. They say that you never really miss something until it's gone.

My mind had started to wander as I walked aimlessly. My vision blurred for a second. Weird, a ringing in my ear clouded what I could see yet, that wouldn't explain the drowsiness in my body. If I had a mouth I'm sure I would be breathing raggedly. Suddenly I could feel my sister touching my right shoulder. I quickly turn to my right and reach out only to grasp nothing there and my sister no longer there. What was that? Strange I was so sure that she was there. Could the sword be doing this? It did make me hallucinate and mess with my mind. I sat down for a second to rest my weary legs. I could hear civilization bustling with activity. It was still awhile off but it was the middle of the day and I could hear shouting approaching in the distance. The words were incomprehensible, but I could tell that they were approaching the forrest. I stood back up and walked towards the strange creatures walking slowly as they entered the forrest. I could now tell they were ponies, there were three of them all together. One had a horn just like the pony responsible for putting me here. The other had wings while the other had neither a horn nor wings. The one with wings was riding a strange contraption with two wheels on it. In between the wheels a metallic plank held the wheels from falling. They looked like little fillies and they appeared to be smiling and having fun. I was just about to go towards them when an overwhelming sense of uneasiness washed over me. My feet became firmly planted and my arms felt like lead. It was then that I felt a red aura swirl around me. Its origin was of course, the sword. Even sheathed it was a dangerous weapon. I felt a sharp agonizing pain ride up my spine causing my legs to buckle and drive me to my knees. I looked up and I felt an apparition appear before me.

" How would it feel to rip out your heart I wonder? Do you even have one? Maybe we should walk into to town killing them all like little lambs led to the slaughter. That would be most satisfying." I could feel the apparition cling to me in sadistic glee as I could only imagine the blood thirst in it's eyes. " It's a shame really, you set us free only to bind us back to that awful sword. We only want to bathe in the madness of everything around us, is that too much to ask for?"

"What are you?" I finally managed to mutter through the pain.

"Funny you should ask, we are..." It abruptly closed it's mouth and thought to itself for a minute before responding." Never you mind what we are. We can't exactly tell you since you aren't a real player in the game, but if you break me from that sword I will gladly grace you with letting you become my personal servant. Imagine the countless power I could grant you, imagine the madness we could spread, the insanity, the sweet, sweet insanity that will destroy nations with just a few loose screws. HAHAHAHAHA, I'm trembling with anticipation! Say yes, please do I have so many plans that simply must be dealt with and you would be a most powerful ally that I could use." Whatever it was, was jumping like a little kid given a lollipop. Laughing manically as if it knew some secret joke.

" I will not serve you. I am bound to the Creator, I shall forever serve him with my life and there is nothing you can say do to ever dissuade me." I slowly rose from my knees. My body slowly fighting back against the apparition. " I will destroy you apparition in the name of the Creator!" I finally managed to shrug off the last of the pain and stood up to my full height and drew the sword. A dark aura emitted from my body clashing with the apparitions.

"Apparition! I am no apparition you simpleton, I am Cassius the mad, the spirit of madness!" I was soon overwhelming Cassius with my dark aura, I could see that victory was in my favor. "I will find you boy, trust me I will! You shall regret not accepting my deal." With a final push my aura conquered over Cassius, vanquishing his presence from the blade forever. I fell to the ground with exhaustion. It was then that I got a better look at my blade. It was midnight black and had engraved into the hilt of it "Oath and Honor" with silver lettering. I sheathed my blade and quickly fell into slumber.

My mind finally at ease for once to catch a good rest. I began to dream about my home and my family. It was more of a memory than it was a dream. It was a long time ago when we had everyone there. My brother was there too. He grabbed my shoulder and patted my back reassuringly. I woke up with a start. Looking around unfamiliar with my surrounding. Then I remembered where I was and what I had to do. Sighing deeply I rested my head back on the hard ground. I slowly crept back to my feet to assess my situation and what would the best course of action would be. Suddenly I could heard a snap from a twig. I drew my blade and readied myself for a possible clash. "Who is there? Show yourself! Stand and fight me with honor." For some reason I could not feel their presence which meant that they were powerful or could mask their aura. Either or meant bad news for me. While I was strong I knew that I was a terrible magic user. I made up for that with my skill and agility. Then I heard a familiar voice one I thought long dead.

"Brother? Is that you Brother?" I suddenly felt his aura and knew that I had found my long lost brother. If it were possible I would be beaming. I was about to run up to him when I was filled with suspicion. No this thing couldn't be my brother. Then again aura's do not lie. I decided to play it safe and talk to him from afar.

"Slendy, is that you? It can't be you, you left all those eons ago. We thought you to be dead" Suspicion still in my voice as I still had my sword pointed at him. I was wavering however clearly perturbed at the thought of finding my brother after eons passed from he went missing.

" 'Afraid so little brother. It has been awhile since I've last been in the garden. How is the family??"

"They're good. Last time I was there at least. You've been gone a long time, what happened to you?"

" Well a dragon had made his way into the territory the last time I was there. It was one hell of a fight, especially alone. I managed to get the upper hand though, just as I killed him he opened up a rift back to his world. That rift became destabilized with the death of it's creator. It turned awry and it sucked me in to this world. Been wondering ever since. The ponies fear me running away calling me slender pony. Though I don't think I look like a pony, do I? Then again I have enchantments on me to frighten away creatures."

"Wait you understand their strange tongue?" I asked clearly shocked that he could understand the hogwash they spoke. Sounded more like grunts and gurgles from an unintelligent creature.

"Yea I understand them enough. You kind of catch on when you've been wondering for eons. To be honest I'm just glad to be out of the Badlands, Large Ass Hellhole is what it should be called. You wouldn't believe the crap that is in there. Managed to scare some vamponies and zomponies though. Still don't get how I could scare them. I mean does it not sound ridiculous for an undead being to run away frightened?" he chuckled slightly.

"Yea maybe a tad bit, but what is this Badlands you speak of?" I asked clearly confused with the strange name.

"It's in the middle of nowhere and filled with a bunch of crap I'd rather not face again, so don't worry about it. How did you get here?" So I told him how it all started and even told him my fight with the timber wolves. He seemed a bit apprehensive when I told him of my meeting with the creator. He accepted it as it was however and seemed to stare at me wide eyed as I told him of my mental battle with the apparition. When I finished he still stared at me wide eyed. " What?"

"You just fought of a Spirit, nonetheless the Spirit of Madness."

"That is what it called itself but, what does that mean?"

" When I was in the garden I was the only one with permission to know the contents of the tome. We all had special tasks that none other than me really knew. I was the Record Keeper, keeping track of all history and memorizing it all. That also meant knowing the history of how we were born. You are the Gateway. The bridge between both worlds. Valentine is the Guardian the true protector of the Garden. Mother is the Gaea of the land nourishing the Garden and keeping it apart from this world. Father is the Time Keeper he is the one that controls the flow of time allowed in the land. Mother and Father know their roles, I told them but I never got around to tell you or sis. I was whisked away before I could have the chance. However as Record Keeper I know that the creator created everything as it is. He created two separate creeds to protect and destroy this world. One creed was known as Elementals while the other was known as Spirits. These creeds are immortal and cannot age, however they can die I believe. I am not sure how but that much I do know. There where certain parts in the tome that I was not allowed to read. For it was for the Creators eyes alone."

My eyes opened wide as I tried to comprehend all that was said. "So what were we created for then?" I asked hesitant to know the answer.

" I believe that we are the last stand in the Creator's army, I have seen them here and there. There is an upcoming battle one that will forever change this world and we are to take part in it. It will be a war that this world has not seen in some time. It will cause huge rifts and many will be slaughtered. It will be a war between the creeds. All we can do is stand with the Creator and help as much as we can."

His words pierced me and seemed to hit home. I stood there dumbstruck. Everything that had been taught to me was only to lead me up to a huge battle. Would I die? I plopped to the ground and sat there not knowing what to do. "So now what?" I asked almost not wanting to hear the answer.

"We wait until were needed and we continue on your quest to kill that unicorn." With that he offered me his hand which I gladly took.
