Rainbow's Dress

Rainbow Dash wears a black dress. And goes for a swim in it.

Rarity gets Rainbow Dash to wear a black dress, even though it's not her style. Of course, it does nothing to alter her personality, and without hesitation she competes with Applejack in a swimming race, unafraid of getting her dress wet.

Inspired by a series of pics by different artists on derpibooru of Rainbow wearing a black dress and getting it wet, either in the swimming pool or singing in the rain. I like it so much I did my own story around it.

I think it's a nice change of pace from what I usually write to do another one of these.

Rainbow's Dress

View Online

One summer day, Pinkie invited her friends to hang out in her backyard and stay for dinner. Naturally, none of them could turn her down.

At about 1:00, Rainbow Dash was just about to leave, when she heard a knock on her door. She opened it to find Rarity standing there, in her original outfit of a light blue shirt and a purple skirt.

"Good afternoon, Rainbow Dash," said Rarity.

"Hi Rarity," said Rainbow Dash. "Don't you have a backyard party to go to?"

"Yes, and I was hoping we could walk there together. But first, I would very much like you to wear this to the party." She held up a sleeveless black dress that went down to the knees.

"That is so not my style," said Rainbow, pushing the dress away. "I'm a world class athlete. I'll go as I am right now." She was wearing her original outfit with skintight black shorts under a pink and green skirt. She normally wouldn't wear a skirt without shorts like these underneath to highlight her athleticism.

"Pretty please?" Rarity made a cute face with sparkly eyes.

"Why don't you ask Applejack?" said Rainbow Dash. "She's the one you have a crush on."

"I got her to do it once on Truth or Dare, at the price of standing in the rain when it was my turn. I'd really like to see you in a beautiful dress just once."

"Hmmm... Pass."

Rarity resorted to desperate measures. "If you wear this dress for the entire time you're at Pinkie's backyard, I promise I'll mud wrestle with you."

"Really? This I gotta see."

"I imagine that would be as fun for you as wearing that dress would be for me."

"All right, I'll wear it. But you'd better keep your end of the bargain!"

"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye."

So Rainbow walked into her room and emerged wearing the dress. She didn't look like she was enjoying it much, nor did she twirl around and ask Rarity how she looked.

"You look smashing," said Rarity. "Now let's go."

They walked to Pinkie's house. It was a hot day outside, so Rainbow was sweating a little. "You don't mind that I'm getting your dress all sweaty?"

"It's your dress, and a little sweat is just fine."

They reached Pinkie's house and entered the backyard through the gate. All their friends were already there, sitting in some chairs on the patio. She had a pretty big backyard, with a section of grass that had two soccer nets on it, and a swimming pool.

"Heheh, you lose a bet or somethin'?" Applejack asked Rainbow Dash. She was wearing a white and green T-shirt and a short, tight pair of jean cutoffs.

Rainbow blushed a little. "No, I made a deal with Rarity."

"What's she gotta do?"

"Get my rear end kicked by her in mud wrestling," said Rarity. "But it'll be worth it."

"Can I get a front row seat to that?"

"Of course you can. Besides, I'd prefer if you set up the... arena."

"I think you look lovely," said Fluttershy, with a light blush. She was wearing her original dress, a white tank top with a green skirt.

"Thanks," said Rainbow Dash. "Do you... prefer me this way?"

"I like you either way. Your sporty outfits are also cute."

"Well, now that everyone's here, let's have some cupcakes!" said Pinkie, who was wearing a white and pink T-shirt and a short, tight pair of jean shorts. She brought out a plate of cupcakes and they all started eating some.

They sat around for a while, having a fun conversation and drinking some lemonade or soda. Rainbow soon forgot she was wearing a dress and talked as she normally would. Then...

"Hey Rainbow, think you can play soccer in that dress?" Applejack asked.

"I know I can!" said Rainbow Dash enthusiastically.

"Heavens, no," said Rarity. "You'll get your dress all sweaty."

"You said a little sweat is just fine. And it's my dress."

"It'll be more than a little sweat, but... it is your dress. Just... try not to ruin it too much."

Rainbow Dash and Applejack went to the soccer section of the backyard and started playing one on one soccer. Both tomboyish athletic girls were having a lot of fun, and the dress was not hindering Rainbow's performance at all. She continued to score goal after goal on Applejack, though Applejack was able to score quite a few goals herself, kicking the ball pretty hard.

"Score is 20-14!" said Pinkie, who was keeping score. "Rainbow Dash wins!"

Rainbow Dash and Applejack were panting and dripping with sweat. Rarity cringed at the state Rainbow's dress was in. They drank some refreshing lemonade, and the sun dried the sweat off them within a minute. Rarity was a little relieved at this, though she suspected her dress might smell slightly.

"Hoo, it's mighty hot out today," said Applejack.

"And we've been running around," said Rainbow Dash. "Want to cool down in a swimming race?"

Applejack smiled. "You're on."

"Rainbow Dash, your dress will be soaked," said Rarity.

"I said I'd wear it the entire party," said Rainbow Dash. "We never said I can't get it wet."

"Oh... very well. After that game a nice rinse might be exactly what it needs."

Rainbow and Applejack looked at the pool.

"Let's start from here on foot," said Rainbow. "Then we dive into the pool and swim to the other end and back. First to swim all the way back wins."

"Sounds good."

"Ready... set... go!"

Rainbow Dash and Applejack ran towards the pool, and when they reached the edge, they dove in with a SPLASH. Rarity winced slightly. As captain of the swim team, Rainbow Dash was swimming faster than Applejack. She reached the other end of the pool moments before Applejack did, kicked off, and swam back as fast as ever.

"Go Rainbow," Fluttershy cheered quietly. "Woohoo."

Rarity had to admit she did look rather lovely swimming in her dress. Rainbow might unintentionally be onto something here. She made a mental note to start making a line of swimsuits resembling dresses.

Rainbow reached the edge of the swimming pool and climbed out. Her dress was soaking wet, as was the rest of her, but she didn't mind one bit, having had fun beating Applejack in a swimming race. The dress clung to her as water dripped off the bottom of it, shimmering in the sunlight.

Applejack reached the edge moments after Rainbow was standing. "Good game, Rainbow," she said.

Rainbow held out her hand. Applejack grabbed it, and they shook hands. Then, before Rainbow could pull Applejack out, Applejack pulled Rainbow back into the pool. Rainbow resurfaced, coughing and sputtering.

"Gotchya," said Applejack.

Rarity and Fluttershy giggled.

Rainbow and Applejack splashed each other playfully for a bit, before climbing out of the pool at the same time.

"I do hope you both had fun," said Rarity.

"Hay yeah we did," said Rainbow. "And don't worry about the dress. Some of your dresses washed just fine from getting really messy."

"Yes, there is that."

Rainbow and Applejack sat back down, and the sun dried them in minutes.

They sat and relaxed for another half hour, until the sky suddenly filled with dark clouds.

"I always found it fascinating how the weather can change so fast," said Twilight, who was wearing her Legend of Everfree outfit.

Just then it started to rain hard, soaking everyone instantly. Rarity, Fluttershy, Twilight, and Sunset ran inside. Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie stayed outside. Pinkie bounced around in the rain, giggling and saying "Whee!", splashing in the puddles on the patio.

"Hey Rainbow, care for a soccer rematch?" said Applejack.

"You bet I am!" said Rainbow. They ran to the soccer field and started kicking the ball around again.

Sunset and Fluttershy, who didn't mind the rain so much, walked back outside to watch the game, and in Fluttershy's case, cheer for Rainbow, though too quietly for her to hear. Rarity and Twilight stayed inside even though they were already dripping wet, but had fun watching the game all the same.

...

The following day, Rarity stood next to a mud pit Applejack had just set up in her farm, free of any pigs. Rarity was wearing an athletic outfit of her own design, a skintight pair of purple spandex shorts and a matching sports bra. Something she didn't mind getting dirty, and Applejack thought it looked good on her. It would still be unpleasant for her going into the mud, but a deal was a deal.

Rainbow Dash showed up, and Rarity was relieved to see she was wearing a similar outfit to her (the same shade of blue as Rainbow's hair) instead of her dress.

"Ready to get your butt kicked?" said Rainbow.

"Yes," said Rarity. "And thank you for wearing that dress to the party. You looked divine, even when you were soaking wet. Did you keep it or throw it out?"

"I kept it just in case," said Rainbow. "I MIGHT be willing to wear it again. Just don't fuss if I play some sports or go swimming in it."

"Deal."

Rainbow and Rarity did a rump bump. Then Rainbow did a cannonball into the mud.

Rarity hesitated, but Applejack pushed her face-first into the mud. Rarity got into a sitting position, a little disgusted at first, but she got over it.

"Ready?" Rainbow asked.

"As ready as I'm going to be," said Rarity. Both she and Rainbow were now covered in mud. "Just... don't go TOO hard on me."

"I'll be as gentle with you as Fluttershy, but I'll still play to win."

And so their contest began, though of course it was obvious to anyone who was going to win.

Fountains, Swimming Pools, and Mud Puddles

Rainbow Dash was going for a walk in the park with Fluttershy. Fluttershy was wearing her original dress, a white tank top and green skirt halfway to her knees. Rainbow Dash was wearing the black dress Rarity had made for her. The last few days she'd dress athletically, whether or not she was hanging out with Fluttershy. But today she felt like wearing this dress with her. Fluttershy felt each had its own attractiveness to it. Not that she didn't love Rainbow Dash whatever she was wearing.

"You know, this dress isn't bad," said Rainbow Dash. "I do kind of like the way the fabric feels. It's so... soft. And it doesn't do anything to slow down my athletic activities!"

"It is really pretty," said Fluttershy. "How fast do you think you can run to that tree and back?"

"I'll do it right now!" Rainbow ran as fast as she could without her geode. She loved the wind in her hair as usual, and there was something about running in the dress as well. Athletic shorts were her first choice of course, but she couldn't say she didn't like how this felt. After reaching the tree, she returned to Fluttershy.

"Way to go," said Fluttershy. She loved watching Rainbow run. She wasn't nearly as athletic as her but it was fun to see what she could do.

Rainbow sat down on the edge of a nearby fountain. Fluttershy sat down next to her.

"So, what do you want to do for the next few hours before I go to Pinkie's house?" Rainbow asked.

"Whatever you feel like," said Fluttershy, leaning her head against Rainbow. Rainbow liked this, and put her arm around Fluttershy.

Then Indigo Zap zoomed by on her bike. Fluttershy was startled, and with a little squeal, she fell backwards into the fountain with a SPLASH!

Rainbow turned towards her. "Are you all right, Fluttershy?"

Fluttershy sat up. She was soaking wet, but her heartbeat slowed down to its normal pace and she caught her breath. "I'm fine."

"Mind if I join you?" Rainbow stepped into the fountain and sat down next to Fluttershy. "Ahhh, the water feels so refreshing."

Fluttershy giggled and splashed Rainbow playfully. Rainbow responded by splashing Fluttershy with a huge wave of water that would have soaked her through if she'd been completely dry.

They had fun playing in the fountain for a bit before they stopped and sat side by side.

"Here's an idea, how about we go swimming?" Fluttershy asked.

"That sounds like a great idea."

They stood up and stepped out of the fountain, dripping wet. Fluttershy thought Rainbow looked cute in a wet dress like that. The water was dripping off of it and parts of it clung to her legs.

"Even though I'm already wet, I'll go get my swimsuit for the pool," Fluttershy said. At the beach she would wear a wetsuit, with a pair of short, spandex, athletic green shorts and a matching sports bra underneath. Lately she'd just wear this athletic outfit to the pool. It wasn't a swimsuit exactly, but was close enough for her, besides, as her wetsuit was not a drysuit they'd get wet under it anyway. Plus she knew Rainbow liked it.

"I'll go with you," said Rainbow. "Then let's go straight to the pool."

Fluttershy giggled.

As they walked to Fluttershy's house, the summer heat dried them. After Fluttershy picked up her "swimsuit", which she changed into already, they were soon feeling hot again as they walked to the swimming pool.

They just had to walk through the change rooms and into the shower room. They stood under the shower head together, soaking Rainbow's dress again in seconds. Then they entered the pool area and jumped in together.

They swam around for a bit, enjoying how refreshing it was, before Rainbow Dash started jumping off the diving board. Fluttershy didn't like doing this very much so she just stayed to the side and watched Rainbow Dash jump, dive, cannonball, and belly flop multiple times, making a big splash each time she hit the water.

After Rainbow did a sort of somersault in midair as she jumped off the diving board again, she swam over to Fluttershy. "Want to go on the waterslide now?"

"Yes," said Fluttershy. She loved roller coasters and so the waterslide was fun to her.

"I must say, you do know how to wear a wet dress with style," came a familiar voice. They turned to see Rarity swimming up to them.

"Hi Rarity," said Rainbow Dash. "Fancy meeting you here."

"Quite so," said Rarity. "I had been meaning to show you my new line of swimsuits." She climbed out of the water, revealing a purple dress similar to the one Rainbow was wearing, though made of swimsuit material rather than the soft fabric that made Rainbow's dress.

"Eh, it's all right," said Rainbow Dash.

Rarity knew from experience this was the closest Rainbow would ever come to complimenting her fashion. "Why thank you, Dashie. It must be more than all right, seeing as how you're wearing the dress that inspired it again."

Rainbow blushed a little. "I'm only wearing this cause Fluttershy likes it. It's not like I think it's fun to wear girly dresses or anything."

"If you say so." Rarity winked. Try as she might, Rainbow couldn't hide things like this from her.

Rainbow and Fluttershy stuck around long enough to see Rarity do a graceful swan dive off the diving board before they climbed out of the water and up the stairs to the waterslide.

"You go first," said Fluttershy. "I'll be right behind you."

"Sure," said Rainbow Dash.

They reached the top, and Rainbow Dash went down the waterslide. She lay in a position to go as fast as possible, landing in the water at the bottom with a huge SPLASH! She quickly swam to the side, and soon Fluttershy splashed into the water.

After going down the slide a few more times, they returned to swimming around, until soon it was time for Rainbow to go hang out with Pinkie. Rainbow walked Fluttershy home, and by the time they reached Fluttershy's house, they were completely dry.

"That was really fun," said Fluttershy.

"You bet it was," said Rainbow. "I can't wait to do it again sometime."

"Have fun with Pinkie, Dashie."

"I will. See you around, Fluttershy."

...

Rainbow and Pinkie had a fun gaming session before they decided to take a break for some snacks. Pinkie got ice cream cones and a few cans of soda, and they walked outside to Pinkie's backyard. Rainbow didn't bother asking why there was now a big section of mud in the middle of her yard. She was Pinkie Pie, after all.

"Cotton candy ice cream is so delicious!" said Pinkie, who was wearing the same summer outfit as she was when Rainbow first wore the dress at her backyard party.

"It sure is," said Rainbow Dash. She finished her cone, and she and Pinkie each drank a can of soda. She reached for another can, and Pinkie playfully used her geode to make it explode, showering Rainbow's entire front half in soda. Rainbow laughed. "Good one, Pinkie!"

Pinkie giggled and drank her second soda.

Rainbow walked to the edge of the mud. "That's not gonna still be there next backyard party, is it?"

"I can remove it before then if you like."

"Actually, it might be fun having that in my next soccer game with Applejack."

"Cannonball!" Pinkie suddenly jumped into the mud, splattering Rainbow's dress.

If this happened to Rarity she would likely freak out. But Rainbow just grinned and jumped into the mud, splashing Pinkie and covering what few parts of her were still clean. Pinkie giggled and splashed Rainbow back. Their mud splash battle turned into mud wrestling. They rolled around in the mud for a bit before Rainbow got Pinkie laying facedown, sat on her butt, and grabbed a hold of her leg. This was one of her favorite moves, which she had used on Rarity, though a little more gently, as she had said she would.

"You win, Dashie!" said Pinkie.

Rainbow got off Pinkie and sat down beside her in the mud. Pinkie also sat up. They were covered in mud from head to toe, you couldn't even tell the color of their hair, skin, or outfits. Although Pinkie hadn't stood a chance against Rainbow, she had a lot of fun all the same.

"How about we clean up now?" Pinkie said.

"I wouldn't mind staying like this, but sure."

They stood up, and Pinkie turned on the hose. She pointed it at Rainbow Dash and sprayed her full force. It only took a few seconds to rinse all the mud off Rainbow and her dress. For the third time today her dress was completely soaked.

"My turn now!" Pinkie handed the hose to Rainbow Dash, who rinsed her off. They sat on the patio and relaxed, and once the sun had dried them, they went back inside to play another game.

Singing in the Rain

View Online

The Equestria Girls were hanging out in Rainbow Dash's backyard. Rainbow had just finished playing soccer with Applejack, which she had won. They were just standing around talking when suddenly it started to rain. They all ran inside, but by the time they got in they were completely soaked.

"I could dry my hair but it will be SO messed up," said Rarity, remembering that Monday she ran to school in the rain, along with Sunset, Twilight, and Fluttershy, ending with a bad hair day for her.

"Your hair looks fine the way it is," said Applejack, winking at her.

"Awwww..." Rarity smiled, blushing lightly.

Rainbow Dash stared out at the rain. A fun idea had just occurred to her. "You know, Sunset, you looked pretty good singing in the rain." Rainbow hadn't been present for Sunset's first Let It Rain but she had seen her sing it again when it had rained on Rarity at the festival.

"Thanks," said Sunset. "Are you suggesting I sing a song out there?"

"I was going to say I'd like to try it. I'd probably look awesome doing it."

"I'm sure you would," said Fluttershy.

"I'll set up a big umbrella for us to stand under while we listen," said Pinkie.

"I'll go get changed for the occasion," said Rainbow.

"Whatever for?" Rarity asked. "You're already wet."

"Heheh... be right back." Rainbow ran to her room and changed out of her black skintight pants, white T-shirt, and blue jacket into her black dress. She picked up her guitar and walked downstairs. "How do I look?"

"Oh, you never get tired of getting that dress wet, do you?" said Rarity, who was used to this by now.

"Not even a little bit."

Pinkie finished setting up the umbrella. She didn't care that it had rained on her for about a minute; if anything, she found it kind of fun.

The other girls rushed under the umbrella, even though they were already wet enough for it to barely matter. Rainbow Dash stood in the center of her backyard and started playing her guitar and singing Awesome As I Wanna Be.

Rarity and Fluttershy couldn't deny how awesome she looked singing this song in the rain in her black dress. And this time Pinkie was enjoying her performance.

The dress clung to her body and water dripped off the edge of the skirt in torrents, often flying off her with the motions she was making. When she did the hair flip, droplets of water flew from her hair. Last time it was sweat from showing off so hard in the heat of the stage lights, leaving her nearly as soaked with sweat as she was with rain now.

Rainbow Dash finished the song this time, since there was no reason for Sunset or anyone else to stop her. Once she was done, the girls all applauded, Fluttershy cheering the loudest. Rainbow Dash bowed, then said "So Applejack, up for a second round of soccer?"

"You know it," said Applejack, and she ran out into the rain to play soccer with Rainbow Dash while Pinkie splashed around in the puddles. Sunset, Twilight, Rarity, and Fluttershy watched, finding it entertaining, with Rarity cheering for Applejack and Fluttershy cheering for Rainbow Dash.

...

A few days later, it was raining hard again. But just about everyone in the city was gathered in front of a big stage, most of them with umbrellas.

Rainbow Dash walked onstage with her guitar, and wearing her black dress, which was already soaked from the rain. She spoke into the microphone. "I've been waiting a few days for a rainy day like today so you can see the awesomeness of me singing in the rain."

She then started rocking on her guitar as enthusiastically as ever and singing Awesome As I Wanna Be again.

The audience loved it. Rainbow Dash was known to be a world class athlete and a tomboy but she looked good in a black dress, and somehow it looked even better on her in the rain, and she was still moving and singing like she always did, as if she was still wearing her athletic outfits, and not caring how wet her dress got, possibly even enjoying it. Some of the audience cheered when she did the hair flip. A few of them put away their umbrellas and let it rain on them. Fluttershy and Sunset among them; Fluttershy was enjoying this the most.

When Rainbow Dash finished the song, the audience cheered and applauded loudly. Once again Fluttershy was uncharacteristically cheering the loudest. Rainbow Dash bowed to them and walked off the stage.

...

The next rainy day, Lyra, Sweetie Drops, Trixie, Indigo Zap, Sunny Flare, and even the Dazzlings could be seen singing in the rain wearing black dresses.

"Looks like you started a trend," said Rarity to Rainbow Dash as they and their friends were walking through the city, all but Rainbow with umbrellas, and Rainbow wearing her original outfit with skintight black shorts today.

"I guess I'm that awesome," said Rainbow.

Rainbow's Bath

View Online

Rainbow Dash ran through the rain in the park. She loved the feeling of the raindrops falling on her and soaking her through. Her black dress clung to her and glistened as water dripped off it in torrents. Occasionally she would stop running and do a hair flip just for the fun of it, making drops of water fly off her hair as well.

Suddenly, the rain stopped and the sun came out.

"Aw, is that all?" Rainbow asked. She did like the sunny weather but she loved running in the rain in her dress. She sat on a bench, which was soaking wet, but so was she, and even if she wasn't, she didn't care.

She relaxed for a few minutes, during which she stopped dripping, though she was still wet. Then she noticed a large area of dirt that the rain had turned into mud, and grinned. It was time for some messier fun.

"Cannonball!" Rainbow did a cannonball into the mud, splashing it everywhere and dirtying her black dress. She then rolled around in the mud, splashing playfully and sometimes scooping mud up with her hands and pouring it over herself. It wasn't long before she was completely covered in mud.

She had been playing in the mud for about five minutes when Rarity walked by. "Rainbow Dash, is that you?" she said, trying not to sound put off by the extremely messy state Rainbow was in.

Rainbow was sitting in the mud with her legs outstretched. "The one and only," she said. "Care to join me?"

"No thank you," said Rarity politely. "I'd prefer not to get dirty."

"Suit yourself. You're missing out." Rainbow stood up, deliberately slipped, and fell on her butt.

It was hard to tell given how dirty she was, but Rarity was sure of what she had seen when Rainbow had been standing. "Are you wearing your dress?"

"Yeah. Getting it dirty's just as fun as getting it wet."

Rarity winced slightly. "It does look rather lovely wet, I admit, but it looks absolutely horrid covered in mud."

"Don't worry, I'll rinse it off in the shower."

"It'd still be a little bit dirty after that. You need a bath."

"No thanks. A quick rinse is good enough."

"Your dress is absolutely filthy. It needs to be washed with soap."

"This isn't my first time getting it muddy. I've always rinsed it with the shower or the hose."

"Then it needs that bath even more."

"Hmmm... Nah."

"I thought you loved getting your dress wet. How often have you worn it in the shower?"

"I lost count."

"How often have you worn it in the bath?"

"I don't even take baths, unless you count hot tubs at the pool."

"Wouldn't you like to try something new with your dress? Taking a bath with soap?"

This did appeal to Rainbow Dash. She'd been in pools, the rain, a fountain, the shower, and sprayed with the hose, but not a bath. "All right, I'll do it," she said.

As Rainbow and Rarity walked to Rarity's house, Rainbow left a trail of muddy footprints.

"I will want to rinse you with the hose first," said Rarity. "So you don't track mud all over my house."

"Sounds good," said Rainbow.

They walked into Rarity's backyard, and Rarity sprayed Rainbow with the hose, rinsing the mud off her. Rainbow enjoyed this, of course. By the end of it, Rainbow was soaking wet, and her dress was mostly clean, but with a few slightly dirty spots on it.

"Leave your shoes by the door before you go in," said Rarity.

Rainbow took off her shoes and set them down next to Rarity's back door, and they entered Rarity's house. Rainbow was dripping on Rarity's floor - mostly her hair and the skirt of her dress - but Rarity didn't seem to mind. They entered Rarity's bathroom, and Rarity filled the tub with warm soapy water. Rainbow couldn't deny to herself she was looking forward to this.

Rarity turned the water off. "Now, into the tub, Dashie."

Rainbow Dash stepped into the tub and sat down, still in her wet, slightly dirty dress. This time she sat with her knees up. Already she was having fun. As Rainbow's hair was already wet, Rarity poured a large dollop of shampoo on it and started to rub it with her hands.

Once her hair was sufficiently lathered, Rarity poured some liquid soap on a bath scrubber and began scrubbing Rainbow's back and sides, coating her dress in suds. Rainbow thought this was as fun as getting dirty. She let out a small sigh of relaxation.

"I told you you'd like it, Dashie," said Rarity with a giggle.

Once Rarity finished washing Rainbow's top half, she filled a bucket with warm water and poured it over Rainbow, rinsing all the suds off her.

"Your top half is clean. Now for your bottom half."

Without hesitation, Rainbow Dash got out of her sitting position and got on all fours. Rarity poured more liquid soap onto her bath scrubber and scrubbed Rainbow's butt, then her back legs, coating both in suds. Rainbow found this enjoyable in its own way. Once she was done she poured another bucket of water over Rainbow's lower half to rinse all the soap off. She could have just told her to sit back down, but Rainbow was sure Rarity wanted to see her entire wet dress above water.

Rarity waited a few seconds before saying "Now let me wash your feet."

Rainbow Dash sat back down with her feet on the edge of the tub. Rarity took the scrubber and started washing them with soap, even though this probably wasn't necessary as Rainbow's dress was already clean.

Rainbow was extremely ticklish, so as Rarity was scrubbing her feet she laughed so hard she was splashing about in the tub, soaking Rarity's original dress. By the time Rarity finished scrubbing, she was as wet as Rainbow Dash.

"Sorry about that," said Rainbow. "I couldn't help it."

"It's quite all right," said Rarity. "Besides, Applejack says my hair looks as beautiful wet as it does in its usual style."

"She's not wrong."

"Why thank you, Dashie."

"Is my bath done?"

"Yes."

Rainbow climbed out of the tub, dripping wet and sparkly clean. She and Rarity walked outside and relaxed on the chairs in Rarity's backyard, letting the sun dry them.

"That was fun," said Rainbow Dash. "We should do it again next time I play in the mud."

"Believe me, I will," said Rarity.

They sat in silence for a few seconds.

"You up for a water fight?" Rainbow asked.

"Sure, why not?"

Food Fight

View Online

Rainbow Dash knocked on Pinkie's door. She had run here from her house in her black dress so she was sweating quite a bit. Even her dress was a little damp.

Pinkie Pie answered, wearing a pink and white T-shirt and short, tight jean shorts. "Hi Rainbow Dash! Ready for our food fight?"

"You bet I am!" said Rainbow. Usually she'd wear a sportier outfit for food fights with Pinkie, like the one she had worn mud wrestling with Rarity, but she wanted to wear her dress this time, and get another bath from Rarity.

Pinkie led Rainbow into her food fight room. There was an assortment of pies and cakes, bottles of whip cream, ketchup, and syrup, bowls of ice cream, and small plastic bags full of frosting, effective as water balloons.

"There won't be any hard feelings about getting your dress all messy, will there?" Pinkie asked.

"None whatsoever." Rainbow smiled.

"Then we start on three. One... two... three!"

On three, Rainbow Dash took a bag of chocolate frosting and threw it at Pinkie. It splattered all over the front of her shirt. Pinkie grinned, picked up a pie, and threw it. It hit Rainbow Dash in the face. Some of the pie's filling got on the top of her dress.

Pinkie threw a bag of vanilla frosting at Rainbow, covering the front of her dress. Rainbow lobbed a cake with chocolate frosting at Pinkie. It landed on her head and collapsed over her. Pinkie licked all the cake off her face, then picked up some ice cream out of the bowls and threw it at Rainbow. Rainbow took a bottle of butterscotch syrup and sprayed Pinkie with it. Pinkie in turn sprayed Rainbow with chocolate syrup. They ran around a bit as they did this - but neither was really making an effort to try to dodge.

When Pinkie ran out of frosting, she bent down to pick up a pie off the floor. Rainbow picked up a bag of chocolate frosting and threw it at Pinkie's rear end, splattering all over the back of her shorts. She let out a squeal, but giggled and threw the pie at Rainbow, hitting her mid section.

Rainbow threw a few scoops of ice cream at Pinkie, as Pinkie threw a cake with rainbow frosting and a bag of vanilla frosting at Rainbow Dash. Pinkie then picked up a bottle of ketchup and sprayed Rainbow with it as Rainbow sprayed her with a bottle of strawberry syrup. Both were laughing as they got more and more soaked.

And then when they ran out, they threw the rest of the ice cream, frosting, and pies at each other, before picking up the bottles of whip cream, having saved them for when they were almost out of everything else, and sprayed each other relentlessly with them. Neither could keep herself from being covered with whip cream - but then neither really wanted to, they were having so much fun.

Eventually, there was nothing left to throw or spray each other with. Rainbow and Pinkie stood, panting. Both were completely covered from head to toe in whip cream, frosting, pie filling, syrup, ketchup, and melted ice cream.

"That was fun!" said Pinkie.

"You can say that again," said Rainbow. "I can't even tell who won." There was not a single clean spot on either of them.

"Let's call it a tie. Now, time to clean up!"

Pinkie ate most of the stuff laying on the floor, which she made sure was in pristine condition before the food fight began. Rainbow helped her mop up what remained, but they stayed in their messy state.

"Wanna have something to eat?" Pinkie asked.

"Sure," said Rainbow. "I'd love a cider, too."

Pinkie led Rainbow to the dining room. Rainbow walked towards the nearest chair. Just before she sat down, Pinkie put a cake with vanilla frosting on the chair. Rainbow's eyes went wide as she sat on the cake, then she chuckled. "Good one, Pinkie!"

Pinkie got Rainbow a slice of another cake with chocolate frosting, and a glass of cider, before setting the rest of the cake on her own chair and sitting down. Rainbow ate the cake and guzzled down the cider, spilling a bit of it down her front. Pinkie giggled at this.

Eventually, Rainbow stood up. The cake hardly made a difference, as her dress was already completely saturated. "This was really fun, but I'd better get going."

"Want me to rinse you off with the hose?" Pinkie asked.

"Nah, I'll have Rarity give me a bath. She and I both really enjoy it."

"Have fun, Dashie!"

Rainbow ran to Rarity's house as fast as she could. She knocked on the door, and Rarity answered, wearing short skintight purple shorts and a matching sports bra, for it was a hot summer day.

"Good heavens, what happened?" Rarity asked upon noticing Rainbow's state.

"Food fight with Pinkie," said Rainbow.

"I should have known. You really need a bath, Dashie."

"That's what I'm here for."

"To tell you the truth, I was so hoping you'd get your dress dirty again, because this time I want to try something a little different."

"What, now?"

"While I was going for a walk with Applejack the other day, I tripped and fell in the mud. Applejack was a sweetheart and said she'd get me cleaned up, and I told her about your bath. She liked the idea of that and gave me a bath in my muddy dress outside in a wooden tub. She gave me a wooden tub in case you ever wanted to try it."

"Sure, that sounds fun."

Rarity and Rainbow Dash entered Rarity's backyard. A wooden tub sat in the center, fairly small but big enough for a person to bathe in. Rarity turned on the hose and filled the tub with warm, soapy water. Rainbow removed her shoes, but before she could step into the tub, Rarity picked her up and threw her in the tub with a splash.

"A little warning next time?" Rainbow said, in a sitting position with her knees bent, as the tub was a little too small to sit with her legs outstretched.

"That's just how Applejack did it," said Rarity. "It wasn't too rough, was it?"

"Eh, it was kind of fun."

Rarity poured a bucket of water over Rainbow's head and scrubbed her hair with shampoo as she had done before, and then scrubbed her top half, especially her dress, vigorously with soap. Rainbow wasn't sure which was more fun - this or a regular bathtub. Once Rainbow's top half was clean and covered in suds, she got on all fours so Rarity could scrub her lower half, which required a little less work as her legs and the lower part of her dress had already been submerged. Once Rainbow's legs and butt were covered in suds, she sat back down with her feet on the edge of the tub. Rarity, anticipating what was to come, scrubbed Rainbow's feet with soap, tickling her and causing her to splash and soak Rarity through. Rarity didn't mind, it was kind of refreshing on this hot day.

Once Rarity was done, she said "Now step out of the tub and I will rinse you off."

Rainbow did as she was told, mostly covered in suds. Rarity sprayed her with the hose, rinsing her completely. Rainbow closed her eyes and enjoyed the refreshing spray of the hose as it blasted her full force.

When she was done, Rainbow was sparkly clean and soaking wet. She did a hair flip, causing drops of water to fly from her hair, and sighed in satisfaction. Rarity loved the way the wetness made the dress shimmer, and how the water was dripping from the skirt. The beauty of this could even rival her own wet hair, she thought.

"How did you like that?" Rarity asked.

"I loved it," said Rainbow.

"So did I," said Rarity. "Next time I'm hanging out with Applejack I might deliberately fall into the mud so she can do it again."

"Go for it," said Rainbow Dash. "And I'm pretty sure Applejack likes it." She winked, and Rarity blushed lightly with a smile.

Rainbow put her shoes back on, left Rarity's backyard, and went for a walk in the park, letting the sun dry her. Just as the last dampness on her dress faded, she noticed a large mud puddle. Rainbow grinned, ran towards the mud, and jumped.
