The Mane Six have to stop a sleepwalking Pinkie Pie from getting herself into trouble
Based on and inspired by the Mickey Mouse short Sleepwalkin' , Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Applejack have to spend a night chasing a sleepwalking Pinkie Pie all over town due to agreeing to watch over her when she thinks she have been sleepwalking lately.
This is my fifteenth overall story, and the first Pony Life story I ever wrote.
Due to being a Pony Life story, this story is NOT linked to the other stories I wrote before.
The present moon and the night sky could be seen outside Sugar Cube Corner, while in the inside, the Mane Six were following Pinkie Pie to her bedroom.
"Thanks for agreeing to watch over me tonight, every pony! You are all the best-est friends ever!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
"It's just what friends should do," Applejack honestly responded.
"Helping a friend in need," Fluttershy added.
"Or a friend in distress," Rarity contributed.
"Or a friend who thinks that she has been sleepwalking recently," Rainbow Dash finished.
"Sleepwalking, formally known as somnambulism, is a behavior disorder that originates during deep sleep and results in walking or performing other complex behaviours while still mostly asleep." Twilight read some information from a book she was levitating out loud.
"Other complex behaviours? Like what?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I don't know. Might be eating all the cake, which happened before...or blow thousands of party balloons, which happened yesterday...or just walk out of bed and make a mess in Sugar Cube Corner, which I have got to clean up when I woke up." Pinkie Pie listed some possible examples.
"It's very serious in this case," Twilight stated.
"But not to worry, we shall keep an eye on you for each and every last second you sleep!" Rarity declared.
"Aw, thanks gils! You are the best!" Pinkie Pie thanked her best friends and hugged them tightly.
"That's enough hugging for now..." Rainbow Dash said, getting squeezed by the tight group hug.
Failing to Keep the Agreement/ The Sleepwalking Begins!
As Pinkie Pie slept, the rest of the Mane Six played a board game right next to her bed, followed by playing with a skipping rope, then a childish version of volleyball using a small, harmless bouncy ball as the volleyball, and nothing as the net.
Finally, the bored ponies were yawning, as they struggled to keep their eyes opened and on Pinkie, before they all succumbed to sleep.
"So much for...." Rarity yawned, "Watching Pinkie Pie, because she thinks that she...sleepwalks," the unicorn's eyes closed completely as she began to sleep right next to Pinkie's bed.
Unfortunately for every pony, the very next second after the last watcher, Rarity, fell asleep, Pinkie Pie got out of bed and stepped on the back of a sleeping Twilight, waking the alicorn up.
"Huh? What?" Twilight asked, waking up to see a snoring and still asleep Pinkie Pie opening the door to exit her bedroom!
"Ah! Pinkie is sleepwalking! Code red!" Twilight cried out loud, before levitating a red siren out of no where and activated it, waking up the other ponies, who quickly woke up upon hearing the loud sound as the sound waves from the source reached their ears.
The Mane Six (minus a certain sleepwalker of course) burst out of Sugar Cube Corner and looked around. To their horror, they saw some pony-shaped holes in a bush, a tree trunk, a boulder, and even a building's wall!
"How did this happen?!" Rainbow Dash asked, just before a sleepwalking Pinkie Pie zoomed pass the form and spun her (Rainbow Dash) out.
"Should we say that Pinkie's sleepwalking in this case?" Applejack asked, "Asking because she's asleep, but running!"
"So it's sleep running now?!" Rainbow Dash asked.
"It can actually be asleep while doing all sorts of things, every reason to like sleepwalking's former name!" Twilight announced, "somnambulism!"
"Um, girls?" Fluttershy asked, catching their attention, "Pinkie Pie is sill sleep-running and on the loose!"
Everypony looked at where Fluttershy was pointing her hoof at, and quickly raced after Pinkie.
Twilight's horn glowed as she used her magic to levitate Pinkie, but her success was short-lived as Pinkie began to overpower the magic grasp, breaking free and resumed her run.
"Did you see that?! Pinkie's super strong!" Applejack commented.
"Unbelievably strong!" Rainbow Dash added.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think the best way to stop Inkie is to wake her up," Rarity announced.
"Wake her up?!" the other ponies asked in unison and shock.
"But, that will let Pinkie know that we...." Fluttrshy gulped, "Failed to keep our agreement."
"Failed to look out for her in case she sleepwalks," Applejack added.
"Well, anything better than seeing our friend get hurt because of her own sleepwalking!" Rainbow Dash pointed out, while pointing a hoof at Pinkie Pie, who got a long flexible pole for her own pole vault activity, while running towards a house!
The ponies gasped to see the danger their friend was in, and quickly responded by rushing to her aid. Rainbow Dash quickly brought a cloud down to where Pinkie Pie would most likely land, while Twilight tied the cloud up tightly to create a cushion.
To the ponies' surprise, Pinkie bounced right off the cushion and flew so high, pass a high-flying bird in the night sky and giving the animal a shock. Pinkie Pie landed on the top of the mountain, and was preparing a dive from the great high, causing her watching friends to scream in horror, "PINKIE! NO!"
Rainbow Dash immediately tried to prevent the dive from happening by racing all the way up the mountain, but was too late as Pinkie Pie had already jumped off the cliff and was falling down at falling head first position, decreasing her surface area so there would be lesser air resistance to slow down her fall! In other words, her position was enabling her to fall down as fast as possible!
Fortunately, Fluttershy bravely told the rest of the ponies, "Don't worry, I've got this."
The yellow pegasus then turned into a huge giant like she did before, and marched off to stop the sleepwalking Pinkie from hitting the ground by using her (Fluttershy's) hoof to catch her (Pinkie Pie).
"Whoo-hoo!" Applejack cheered.
"You did it, Fluttershy!" Rarity praised.
"You saved Pinkie!" Twilight added.
"For just now!" Rainbow Dash corrected, pointing a hoof in the distance to show that Pinkie Pie was sleep-running again.
The ponies then looked at Fluttershy's hoof the should have a sleeping Pinkie Pie on it like it did a second ago.
"Oh, come on!" Rarity could not help but say in an annoyed tone.
"Come on girls, we got to get Pinkie back to Sugar Cube Corner in her bed, and stop her sleepwalking!" Twilight announced.
The ponies quickly caught up with the sleepwalking Pinkie, and did their best to wake her up, in hopes that doing so would end her sleep walking and sleep activities. But unfortunately, none of the attempts worked.
"Pinkie Pie! Wake up!" Applejack yelled through a megaphone that Rarity was levitating in front of the former.
"Let me try!" Rarity called, before levitating a diamond to reflect the moonlight into Pinkie's closed eyes.
"Allow the expert," Rainbow Dash told the two ponies, bringing a dark cloud with her. The pegasus then shouted, "Pinkie, wake up now!" and stomped her hooves on the cloud, releasing lightning and thunder, but surprisingly, neither of them worked.
"The usual old fashioned way!" Twilight insisted, levitating a bucket of water with her magic, using it to pour water onto the sleepwalker, leaving the pony wet but still asleep.
"Maybe this will help!" Fluttershy suggested, carrying a frog and placing the frog's lips right in front of Pinkie's. Thinking that a kiss from a frog might work. Although the plan succeeded, the outcome was the total opposite of what was expected; instead of waking up, Pinkie Pie was still sleep running and on the loose.
"You should have known that Pinkie will never feel that while being asleep." Rarity commented.
"Doesn't matter now, we got to catch up with Pinkie again!" Twilight instructed.
The ponies galloped right next to Pinkie Pie, struggling to keep up with her.
"We can't chase her like this all night!" Fluttershy cried.
"How in tarnation are we going to get her to stop?!" Applejack asked.
Just then, the ponies saw what Pinkie Pie was dreaming of by looking at her thought bubble.
"Seriously, going to be first place in a marathon?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"And going to cross the finish line any second by now?" Rarity added.
"Wait a second, finish line! That's it!" Twilight brightened up, before taking the finish line out of Pinkie Pie's dream and placing it right in front of the sleepwalker, who automatically stopped her sleepwalking once she crossed the finish line.
"Phew," all the ponies heaved a huge sigh of relief.
"Now all that's left to do is get her back to bed," Applejack announced.
The five ponies tiredly brought Pinkie back to the latter's bed in her room. Most likely, Twilight was the one who brought Pinkie to bed as she was the one levitating the sleeping pony.
"Nice in bed," Rarity commented.
"I'm just glad that that nightmare's over," Rainbow Dash yawned.
"And we can finally have some sleep," Fluttershy added.
The five ponies then closed their eyes and snuggled off to sleep, but a few seconds after that...
Riiiiinnnnnnggggg!
Pinkie Pie's alarm clock went off, it was wake-up time in the morning already!
Most of the ponies' eyes automatically opened with red replacing their eyes' actual colours. With the exception of Pinkie Pie, as she was the only one who did not spend the night awake.
"Guess what every pony?! I slept great! I felt like I can run a whole marathon! What do you say, best pony friends forever? Come on!" Pinkie cheerfully invited her friends to an activity, unaware of what they had been through and the fact that they were obviously insanely uncomfortable at the moment.
"NOT AGAIN!!!" Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Applejack all cried in unison.
