The Ending of the Love

Lyra tries to avoid Bon Bon after the final battle with Cozy Glow, Chrysalis, and Tirek.

During the events of the Ending of the End, there was conflict among the three pony races. Lyra suffered the worst of it when her fiancé, Bon Bon, ended their engagement because they were from different races. Even when the final battle was over, Lyra wasn’t sure if she should forgive Bon Bon and continue with their marriage plans.

This is a take on what would happen if the division among the pony races cause some kind of severe consequence after the final battle. I also wondered what happened to Lyra and Bon Bon during the Season 9 finale.

How It All Started

View Online

Lyra trotted down the streets of Ponyville to while carrying some groceries. She notice some of the citizens were avoiding each other. It has been like this for the past few days. Most of the citizens don't talk to each other and began to stay in separate groups of just earth ponies, pegasai, or unicorns. There were even some occasions where ponies started to fight among themselves. Lyra was surprised to see this kind of phenomenon happening in Ponyville. Some monster attacks have occurred from time to time, but this felt different. Another weird thing that was happening was that Lyra kept getting denied of groceries from the earth pony vendors. She was able to get some produce thanks to a vendor who was a unicorn. Today was Princess Twilight's coronation into becoming the ruler of Equestria and Lyra wanted to make a special dinner for her and Bon Bon to celebrate. Lyra felt more happy than usual as she felt her new engagement ring on her horn. She finally proposed to Bon Bon and they were now making preparations for their wedding. Lyra thought that was one thing that made her cheer up. She finally reached her home and opened the door to find Bon Bon sitting at the dining table.

"Hey Bon Bon!" Lyra said as she placed the bags on the counter and began unpacking.

"Hello, Lyra." Bon Bon said in a serious tone. Lyra noticed this and turned to see Bon Bon with an angry look on her face.

"Is there something wrong, Bon Bon?" Lyra asked in concern.

"It's nothing, I'm just surprised that you were able to find some vegetables." Bon Bon replied.

"Yeah, it was strange." Lyra said confusingly. "Most of the sellers refused to sell me anything until one of them offered to sell me some vegetables."

"Was this vendor a unicorn?" Bon Bon asked calmly. Lyra was a bit surprised to hear this from her fiancé.

"Y-yeah," Lyra replied while still confused.

"Huh, figures." Bon Bon said rudely. "I guess you unicorns are able to grow plants on their own. But earth ponies can still grow better produce!"

"I don't understand. Why are you acting this way, Bon Bon?" Lyra asked as she grew more concerned.

"I don't know, probably because you and the rest of the unicorns in Ponyville are trying to ruin the earth ponies' gardens." Bon Bon said as she slammed her hooves on the table.

"W-what are you talking about?" Lyra asked she got scared from her fiancé's outburst.

"Don't pretend that I don't know!" Bon Bon barked. "I keep hearing stuff about how unicorns keep using their magic to ruin the crops and gardens all around town! I didn't want to believe it, but all of the rumors and damages actually made sense!"

"Bon Bon, please! I don't know what you mean!" Lyra pleaded.

"Stop lying to me, Lyra!" Bon Bon yelled. Bon Bon pulled off the engagement ring that Lyra gave to her from her hoof and threw it to the ground. Lyra was dead silent as she watched the ring bounced on the floor until it slowly stopped. "I thought getting married to you would be the best thing that could have ever happened to me, but I can't be married to some traitor!" Bon Bon then used her hooves to stomp on the ring until it broke into pieces. Lyra quickly ran out of the house while crying. She too removed her ring and threw it away. Lyra didn't know where to go as she was too upset to think. She then noticed a crowd of earth ponies were galloping towards her.

"Get out of town, you unicorn!" One of the earth ponies said as the crowd began to chase Lyra while throwing trash at her. Lyra had no idea what has gotten into everypony. Before the crowd was about to reach Lyra, she suddenly disappeared out of thin air.

Lyra slowly opened her eyes to see that she was on the outskirts of town.

"Lyra!" A voice said from behind. Lyra turned to see Minuette and some of the other unicorns who lived in Ponyville.

"Minuette?!" Lyra said in shock.

"Oh Lyra! Thank goodness you're safe!" Minuette said as she gave Lyra a hug. "All of the earth ponies in Ponyville began to run us out of town. I spotted you and we all used our magic to teleport away!" The other unicorns nodded in agreement.

"What is going on!?" Lyra demanded as confusion overwhelmed her so much that tears streamed down to her cheeks.

"We don't know either," Minuette replied. "we're going to Canterlot to seek refuge as the city is mostly made up of unicorns. We will combine all of our magic to teleport there." As all of the unicorns began to light up their horns, Lyra turned to the sight of Ponyville and thought about Bon Bon. Lyra had never seen Bon Bon act so angry before, especially towards unicorns. Lyra's only option was to go with the other unicorns in hopes of figuring out what was happening. She joined in with the other unicorns and they were all instantly teleported to one of the streets in Canterlot. Lyra saw that the streets were completely empty.

'This is getting out of hoof,' Lyra thought before she got startled when she heard an explosion. All of the unicorns turned to see a part of Canterlot Castle get destroyed by a massive beam of energy. Lyra shivered in fear as she thought there was another bad villain invading Equestria.

"We got to get out of here!" One of the unicorns yelled in panic. Lyra looked around until she spotted Princess Celestia's School of Gifted Unicorns was getting boarded up by other unicorns.

"Quickly! To the school!" Lyra yelled as she lead her unicorn friends towards the school.

It felt like a long time as Lyra and the other unicorns hid inside one of the classrooms. All of the windows were boarded up to prevent anything else from entering the school. Chancellor Neighsay was using a telescope to watch of the outside.

"There are several storm clouds appearing in the sky." Chancellor Neighsay informed.

"I bet those pegasai are the ones doing that." One unicorn said. "They're probably trying to cause a storm to mess with us." Some of the other unicorns agreed. Lyra didn't know what to say as a part of her was still worried about Bon Bon. Chancellor Neighsay looked outside again only to inform everypony that the Windigos have appeared.

"Fortify the shield around the school of magic!" One unicorn ordered. "We need to protect ourselves! It's all we can do!" Lyra and the other unicorns were about to leave to perform the spell until a small unicorn filly jumped on top of the front desk.

"Have we forgotten how the founders of Equestria defeated the Windigos?!" The filly yelled to get every unicorns' attention. When everpony was silent, the filly continued, "Earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasai becoming friends. We learned at Twilight's school that friendship is the most powerful magic there is!" All of the unicorns began to feel less scared as the unicorn filly continued with her speech.

When all three villains turned into stone, every creature cheered as they were victorious. Lyra hugged some of her unicorn friends in celebration.

"Lyra!" Lyra heard a familiar voice from the distance. She turned to see Bon Bon frantically looking around. "Lyra!" Bon Bon screamed once again in attempts to get Lyra's attention. Lyra felt relieved to see that Bon Bon was still safe and sound despite what had recently happened. Bon Bon spotted Lyra and hurried towards her. When Lyra saw Bon Bon's face, she suddenly remembered all of the harsh things that Bon Bon said before the earth ponies ran Lyra out of town. Lyra quickly used her horn to teleport away before Bon Bon reached the spot where the unicorn was. Bon Bon was completely confused as she just saw Lyra before she disappeared. Bon Bon ignored the cheers of victory from the other creatures as her only priority was finding Lyra.

What Happens Now

Minuette arrived to her home in Canterlot after that huge battle against the three villains. She never thought she would be a part of the action as she would normally be on the sidelines when something major happens in Equestria. A part of her felt really proud as everything turned out alright. Minuette was about to make some dinner when she heard knocking from her door. She opened it and she was surprised to see Lyra standing in front of her.

"Lyra!" Minuette responded.

"Hey Minuette," Lyra spoke in a sad tone. "Is it alright that I come in?" Minuette nodded as she allowed Lyra to trot inside. Lyra took a seat on the large couch in the living room. Minuette took a seat across from Lyra and both of them just stayed silent for short while.

"So what brings you here, Lyra? I thought you would go back to Ponyville." Minuette noticed Lyra's eyes began to flood with tears. Lyra bawled out while covering her face with her hooves. Minuette hurried next to Lyra and held her to calm her down.

"It's okay, Lyra." Minuette assured as she patted Lyra's back. "Just take your time." Minuette used her magic to retrieve a box of tissues and offered them to Lyra. Lyra took some tissues and blew her muzzle.

"S-sorry," Lyra said. She took some deep breaths before she was ready to speak. "I'm not sure if I should head back to Ponyville."

"Why?" Minuette asked in confusion. "I thought you and Bon Bon were planning your wedding?" Lyra blew her muzzle again.

"Bon Bon broke off our engagement." Lyra whimpered.

"What?!" Minuette yelled in shock.

"It happened when all of the earth ponies, pegasai, unicorns were believing those false rumors and remained separated. Bon Bon thought I was betraying her and she said that she didn't want marry to me. Next thing I knew, she smashed her engagement ring right in front of me!" Lyra cried once again as it felt too painful to mention that awful moment. Minuette gave Lyra a tight hug to let her know that everything was alright. Minuette remembered how all of the earth ponies in Ponyville treated the unicorns and pegasai like nasty rodents. She also thought it made sense that the temporary division affected Lyra and Bon Bon's relationship as they were different pony races. Lyra spoke again, "After those three villains were defeated, Bon Bon ran towards me and I quickly teleported away. I started to remember that harsh moment and I really didn't want to see Bon Bon again." Minuette tried to think of a good solution for Lyra.

"I think the best thing for you to do is spend some time away from Bon Bon. This can help you calm your nerves and figure out what to do next." Minuette suggested. Lyra took a moment to think about her friend's suggestion.

"Alright, I think that's a good idea." Lyra smiled and returned a hug to her friend. "Thanks for hearing me out."

"It's what friends are for." Minuette said embrassingly while rubbing her neck.

"Is it alright if I stay here for the night?" Lyra asked. "It's already late and I don't want to disturb my parents if they're asleep."

"No problem," Minuette assured. "I'll prepare the guest bedroom for you." Minuette trotted down her hallway.

"Thank you!" Lyra said as she continued to sit on the couch. She felt a bit worried as she left Bon Bon without saying a single word. Lyra thought of something as she used her magic to retrieve a piece of paper and a quill.

Bon Bon trotted frantically across Ponyville's streets as she was looking for Lyra. Bon Bon looked in every part of town and asked several of the local ponies if they have seen Lyra. Unfortunately, all of them had no idea where Lyra was. Bon Bon continued to trot down the streets until she spotted Amethyst Star.

"Amethyst!" Bon Bon hollered to get the unicorn's attention.

"Hey Bon Bon, is everything alright?" Amethyst asked.

"Have...you...seen....Lyra?" Bon Bon asked while panting.

"Hmm..." Amethyst said while thinking. "I haven't seen her since that big battle again the villains. Maybe she went home to look for you." Bon Bon slapped her hooves on her forehead as she felt stupid for not checking their house first.

"Thanks Amethyst!" Bon Bon yelled as she hurried to the house she and Lyra were sharing. Bon Bon opened the door to see that Lyra wasn't in the kitchen. "Lyra!" Bon Bon called out in the house. She didn't get any response and ended up trotting to every part of the house, only to find no traces of Lyra. Bon Bon heart beat faster as she grew more worried about Lyra. Bon Bon hurried to the kitchen to exit the house. She stopped when she noticed something on the floor. It was her engagement ring that she completely destroyed. It triggered Bon Bon's memories of that moment when she falsely accused Lyra for siding with the unicorns. Bon Bon felt heavy guilt as she saw how upset Lyra was and how she ran off to be chased by the earth ponies. Bon Bon heard some knocks from the kitchen door and hurried to open it.

"Lyra!?" Bon Bon said and hoped that it was her fiancé. Unfortunately, it was just Derpy while wearing her mailpony uniform.

"Mail delivery for you, Bon Bon!" Derpy said as she gave an envelope to Bon Bon.

"Thanks Derpy," Bon Bon said while she sighed in disappointment.

"You're welcome!" Derpy said as she flew off to deliver more mail. Bon Bon looked at the envelop to only see her name and address. There wasn't a return address on it. Bon Bon hoped that this mail was from Lyra and opened the envelop to find a letter. Bon Bon could immediately tell that the letter was from Lyra as Bon Bon could recognize her fiancé's horn writing.

Dear Bon Bon,

I'm writing to let you know that I'm staying away from Ponyville for a while. I couldn't bare to see you again after what you said. What made matters worse, you destroyed the very ring that was a sign of my affection towards you and I was willing to spend the rest of my life with you! If you wanted to marry me, then why did you and the other earth ponies act so rudely towards me and the other unicorns? I'm beginning to also reconsider our engagement. For now, I just want to be away from you. I'm not sure if I'll return to Ponyville. If I choose not to return, you can just throw out my belongings as those were the possessions of a 'unicorn'.

From your EX-fiancé,
Lyra Heartstrings

After Bon Bon finished reading the letter, she collapsed to the ground and cried her eyes out. Bon Bon felt like her heart was in so much pain as she drove away the love of her life.

How Are Things Going

Lyra woke up to smell something cooking. She got up from her bed and made her way to the kitchen to see Minuette making some eggs.

"Morning Lyra!" Minuette said with a cheery tone.

"Morning Minuette," Lyra said while smiling. She took a seat on the table.

"I'll have breakfast ready in a jiffy!" Minuette said.

"I appreciate it," Lyra said as she waited patiently. Both of the mares enjoyed their breakfast while swapping funny stories.

"So those living apples began to say crazy riddles?" Minuette said in surprise.

"Yeah, it was so crazy. I was still able to drown them out while I propose to-" Lyra stopped when she remembered that was the same day she proposed to Bon Bon.

"Oh, my bad." Minuette cringed as she caused Lyra to bring up a memory involving Bon Bon.

"No, it's alright." Lyra waved a hoof. "I just forgotten about that part until now." It was dead silent between the two unicorns for Celestia knows how long.

"Are you feeling any better?" Minuette asked in attempts to cheer up her friend. Lyra took a moment to think of a good answer.

"Yeah, I'm alright." Lyra replied. "I just needed to clear my head from everything that has happened."

"Especially when everypony was divided. Most of my friends didn't want to say anything to me because I was a unicorn." Minuette recalled her experience before the villains attacked. "I was lucky that I knew a few unicorns who joined in on escaping Ponyville."

"I should be the one who should say she was lucky as you and the other unicorns helped me escape. I didn't know what else to do." Lyra praised.

"I'm still glad that battle is finally over." Minuette said. "Now we just have to move on from all of this."

"I don't think I can," Lyra said while her head was down. Minuette grew concerned from hearing Lyra's response. "Everypony may have forgiven each other after that final battle, but it felt difficult for me to forgive Bon Bon. I'm just afraid that Bon Bon will behave like that again if we get married." Lyra formed tears in her eyes and sniffled. Minuette offered a tissue to Lyra so she could blow her muzzle again.

"W-which is why you're here," Minuette assured. "to take some time off and really think about this decision of marriage." Lyra took some deep breaths and she was able to calm down.

"Thanks for being with me, Minuette." Lyra said as she gave her friend a hug.

"Say, how about we both head out to catch up with our friends?" Minuette suggested. "Lemon Hearts, Twinkleshine, and Moon Dancer would love to see you again!" Lyra simply smiled from remembering her old Canterlot friends.

"That sounds like a great idea, Minuette." Lyra nodded.

At the Canterlot Park, all five unicorn mares trotted down the path while enjoying the beautiful scenery. It felt wonderful for Lyra to see her old friends. Lyra was also surprised to see Moon Dancer as she would normally be busy reading books.

"It felt like a long time since I have been here," Lyra claimed as she took a closer look at one of the ponds.

"This park is still the same even though you were gone, Lyra." Lemon Hearts said.

"I'm so glad that I was able to get some free time after cleaning up the magic school." Moon Dancer said. "It took some time to remove the nailed wood from the windows and clean up the classrooms since we used them as bunkers."

"Oh yeah, I heard that you're going to work at Princess Celestia's magic school as a teacher. Is that right, Moon Dancer?" Twinkleshine said with curiosity.

"Correct, Princess Celestia herself hired me as I provide an incredible amount of knowledge about unicorn magic." Moon Dancer said with a sense of pride.

"Wow! That's so cool!" Minuette said in amazement. The mares were interrupted by a mare's scream. They looked around to see that the scream came from the other side of the pond. One mare had her mouth covered with her hooves while a stallion kneeled down to present a small box with what looked like a ring inside.

"Oh yes my love, I will marry you!" The mare hollered as she gave the stallion a tight hug.

"Ah! Isn't that so sweet." Lemon Hearts cooed.

"I really hope that one day my coltfriend will propose to me like that." Twinkle said. "Don't you think so, Lyra?" Twinkleshine asked but she noticed Lyra was just staring at the newly engaged couple. Lyra started to see herself and Bon Bon on the other side of the pond while offering each other engagement rings. Lyra started to form tears in her eyes and it flowed down to her cheeks. Minuette noticed this and she then turned to the couple.

'Uh oh,' Minuette thought as she realized that Lyra was getting reminded of some bad memories.

"Lyra," Minuette said as she placed a hoof on Lyra's shoulder to startle her.

"Huh?" Lyra said as she turn to see her friends looked concerned.

"Are you alright? You have tears coming out of your eyes." Moon Dancer informed. Lyra noticed this and quickly wiped her tears away.

"S-sorry, I was just feeling...overjoyed for the couple!" Lyra lied as she faked a smile. Her other friends looked at each other in confusion. "W-we should get a move on! How about we go to Donut Joe's shop? I haven't been to his place in a while." Lyra said as she hurried out of the park. Minuette felt a bit worried while her other friends were a bit concerned of Lyra.

Back at Ponyville

Bon Bon dragged her hooves while trotting on the streets. She didn't sleep last night as she crying for most of it. When Bon Bon stopped crying, her thoughts continued to be clouded with her yelling at Lyra and then Bon Bon started to cry once again. It became morning when Bon Bon was burned out from all of her crying. She didn't want to be inside of the house as it made her remember of that wrong move she made. Bon Bon's mind was completely blank as she didn't know what to feel or think. 'Lyra is gone,' Bon Bon thought as she found herself at Ponyville Park. A few fillies and foals were playing around while some couples were spending time with each other. Bon Bon decided to take a seat on one of the benches. She then started to remember all the times she and Lyra sat on these benches after spending time together. It really soothed Bon Bon as she and Lyra watched the day go by while sitting.

'It's like this whole town is cursed to haunt me of my past.' Bon Bon thought as she hung her head in sadness. As she closed her eyes, she started to hear some bouncing noise and decided to ignore it. It wasn't until the bouncing noises stopped and the sound of hoofsteps was getting closer.

"Hey Bon Bon," A mare's voice said. Bon Bon lifted her head to see that it was Pinkie Pie, the Element of Laughter and resident party planner of Ponyville. If there's anypony who can make any creature smile, Pinkie was the perfect mare for the job. "What's wrong?" Pinkie asked as she noticed Bon Bon looking down.

"There are a lot of things that's wrong, Pinkie." Bon Bon grumbled. Pinkie took a seat next to Bon Bon.

"Is there any way I can help?" Pinkie offered.

"I'll be fine, Pinkie." Bon Bon replied.

"But Bon Bon-"

"I SAID BUTT OUT, PINKIE!" Bon Bon hollered. Bon Bon then saw flashes of a scared Lyra from Bon Bon yelling at her. Bon Bon breathed heavily as she regretted yelling at Pinkie. "I'm sorry, Pinkie." Bon Bon said as she placed her hooves on her face.

"It's fine, you were just stressed that's all." Pinkie said as she patted Bon Bon on her back. Bon Bon whimpered before she cried in her hooves. Pinkie slowly gave Bon Bon a caring hug and told her that everything was alright. The party pony then pulled out some tissues from her mane and gave it to Bon Bon.

"Thanks," Bon Bon said as she blew her muzzle.

"Is it alright that you talk to me about it? I'll Pinkie promise to pay attention." Pinkie said as she placed a hoof on her eye. Bon Bon knew from experience that Pinkie always kept her word if it involved a Pinkie promise. So Bon Bon began with how it started with her accusing Lyra and getting the letter saying that Lyra doesn't want to see her again. When Bon Bon was done, Pinkie nodded as she understood.

"It wasn't your fault," Pinkie claimed. "it was the three villains who spread those false rumors."

"But it was my actions that drove Lyra away," Bon Bon admitted. "I chose to believe those rumors instead of believing the one pony who I truly loved." Pinkie felt really bad for Bon Bon as she never thought that those false rumors left such a severe scar on Lyra and Bon Bon's engagement.

"At least you're admitting your mistakes, that's the first step towards healing." Pinkie said.

"Yeah, but I don't know what to do now." Bon Bon said. "I'm not sure if Lyra will take me back if she saw me again."

"You can't force her to take you back. You just need to say you're sorry. It will show that you thought a lot about what you have said. If Lyra still doesn't want to go back to you, then you will have to move on and learn from it." Pinkie advised. Bon Bon felt a bit surprised to hear such great advice from Pinkie. Bon Bon would normally see Pinkie as some crazy party mare who gets easily distracted. Bon Bon guessed that Pinkie must've grown a lot thanks to the magic of friendship.

"Thanks Pinkie," Bon Bon said with a smile.

"Oh! There's that smile!" Pinkie cheered while giving Bon Bon another hug. When Pinkie's hug was over, Bon Bon began to trot out the park and made her way to find Lyra. Bon Bon could only think of one place Lyra would go as it was Lyra's birthplace, Canterlot.

When Things Get Better

Lyra and her friends were sitting around a table at Donut Joe's donut shop. It was very quiet while everypony helped themselves to some donuts. Lyra looked sad while chewing on a chocolate donut. With the exception of Minuette, Lyra's friends thought something was up with Lyra ever since she saw that couple at the park. Twinkleshine decided to break the ice by starting another conversation.

"So how's Ponyville?" Twinkleshine asked. Minuette tensed up as she was afraid that Lyra might get angry.

"Maybe we can talk about how great these donuts are!" Minuette said in attempts to change the subject.

"Ponyville is alright," Lyra responded.

"Some of us have been visiting Ponyville and we couldn't agree more!" Lemon Hearts said. "It's such a nice town full of friendly ponies." Minuette felt sort of relieved that Lyra didn't react badly.

"Oh yeah! Aren't you living with that friend of your's, Lyra?" Twinkleshine asked. Lyra's pupils shrunk as her friend was mentioning a sensitive topic.

"What was her name? Bon Bon, that was her name!" Lemon Hearts said before she and her friends noticed Lyra staying completely silent and looked like she was very ill.

"Lyra, is there something wrong?" Moon Dancer spoke first. Lyra started to feel tense as she didn't want to mention what happened with Bon Bon. The worried looks on her friends' faces made Lyra feel more pressured into telling what had happened. Minuette placed a hoof on Lyra's to get her attention.

"Is it alright if I told them?" Minuette asked calmly. Lyra quickly nodded as she started to tear up.

"Told us what?" Twinkleshine asked. Minuette started to explain what recently happened to Lyra from the proposal to Bon Bon to teleporting away from the battle's aftermath. While Minuette spoke, Lyra just nodded to confirm what her friend was saying. All of Lyra's friends were shocked as they didn't realized how much Lyra was hurting before and after the battle against the Legion of Doom. They immediately gave Lyra a much needed group hug.

"Oh Lyra! We're so sorry that you had to go through all of that!" Lemon Hearts cried.

"That Bon Bon is such a jerk!" Twinkleshine added while the friends stopped hugging Lyra.

"It doesn't matter now, I just want to forget Bon Bon and move on from all of this." Lyra claimed as she took another bite from her donut. Moon Dancer wasn't comfortable with what Lyra was saying.

"I really think that's not a good idea, Lyra." Moon Dancer spoke up.

"You should've seen Bon Bon, Moon Dancer!" Lyra responded. "She just treated me like I was some double agent just because of some false rumors. It was almost as if she had forgotten all of the great times we had as a couple. I bet now she is hooking up with some earth pony mare after I vanished from her life." Lyra droned on.

"We don't know if that will happen." Moon Dancer objected, "Look, what Bon Bon did may have been terrible, but I think that was only one mistake."

"Yeah, a mistake that makes me question if I should forgive Bon Bon or not." Lyra said.

"I have been in a similar situation to your's, Lyra." Moon Dancer mentioned. "A friend of mine made a mistake that affected me very badly. It made me want to seclude myself from her or anypony who tried to help me as I was afraid that I would get hurt all over again. That was until my friend came to see me and tried to make things right with me. She admitted that she wasn't a good friend in the past, but now she was more willing to see me and restore our friendship." Lyra and Moon Dancer's friends smiled as they knew what friend Moon Dancer was talking about.

"What are you trying to say, Moon Dancer?" Lyra asked with confusion.

"What I'm trying to say is don't let a friend's mistake ruin your connection with her." Moon Dancer confirmed. "You can forgive Bon Bon as long as she has acknowledged what she has done and is willing to make things right with you." Lyra took a moment to think about what Moon Dancer has said. Lyra noticed that she only cared about avoiding Bon Bon while staying in Canterlot. Lyra couldn't think of what else to do if things kept going the way they are right now. She looked out the window to jump from her seat as she saw Bon Bon trotting to the shop's entrance.

"Oh no, Bon Bon is coming inside!" Lyra said while panicking.

"Maybe now is the good time for you two to talk?" Minuette suggested.

"I really can't right now!" Lyra said as she tried to think of a way to get out.

"There's a backdoor over there." Lemon Heart said as she pointed at the said door. Lyra immediately ran out through the backdoor right when Bon Bon entered the donut shop. She looked around to search for Lyra, only to find no traits of her. Bon Bon was about to leave until she spotted Minuette and her friends sitting around a table. Bon Bon did remember Lyra mention her friends in Canterlot. Bon Bon decided to approach the unicorn mares to see if they have anything about Lyra's whereabouts.

"Hey Minuette," Bon Bon said as she approached the blue unicorn.

"Hey Bon Bon," Minuette said while smiling. Lemon Hearts and Twinkleshine just glared at Bon Bon as they knew what she did to Lyra.

"I thought you and your earth pony pals were too proud to speak to us unicorns." Lemon Hearts said to make it sound like an insult. Bon Bon sighed as she had that coming.

"Lemon," Moon Dancer said in disappointment.

"I guess Lyra must've told you." Bon Bon said in shame.

"Yeah, about how your earth pony pride made you forget all of the good times you had with Lyra." Twinkleshine replied. Bon Bon gritted her teeth as Twinkleshine's words felt like salt rubbing on wounds. Bon Bon took some deep breathes to calm down.

"It's true, I choose my race over Lyra without thinking. That's why I'm here, to make things right with her." Bon Bon then bowed to Lyra's friends. "I also apologize about any mistreatments I made towards you guys or other unicorns. I should've learned better than to believe false rumors over what was true." Lemon Hearts and Twinkleshine began to feel real guilty from acting so rudely towards Bon Bon.

"Lyra went through the backdoor, we don't know where she would go." Minuette said.

"Thank you, I'll make things right with her." Bon Bon nodded before she exited the shop and tried to follow Lyra.

Lyra quickly trotted through the streets of Canterlot to avoid Bon Bon. Lyra saw the park and thought that would be a good place to hide as the trees can hide her. Bon Bon was able to spot Lyra entering the park. Bon Bon trotted in a fast pace to catch up to Lyra. Lyra was walking through an open path that was surrounded by some trees. She felt at peace as she only heard the winds blowing and the birds chirping.

"Lyra!" Lyra heard a very familiar voice behind her. She turned to see Bon Bon galloping not too far from her. Lyra panicked and began to trot as fast as she could in attempt to get away from her ex-fiancé. "Lyra, please stop!" Bon Bon begged desperately as she continued to chase after Lyra. Lyra thought the only other option was to teleport away, but it was difficult for her to concentrate with her horn while trotting. An idea came to Lyra's mind as her horn began to glow. Bon Bon noticed Lyra's horn glowing and trotted faster to prevent Lyra from teleporting again. Bon Bon was about to reach Lyra until the unicorn teleported. Bon Bon was left alone in the middle of the wooded area. Unknown to Bon Bon, Lyra was secretly hiding behind one of the bushes on the side of the open path. Lyra was able to teleport to a spot outside of the open path and she snuck under the bushes until Bon Bon was gone. Lyra noticed that Bon Bon was still standing on the same spot for some time. Sadness took over Bon Bon's thoughts as she once again let the love of her life get away. 'Way to go Bon Bon, you just scared Lyra away just like at Ponyville.' Bon Bon thought to herself. Tears streamed down Bon Bon's eyes as she was overwhelmed with regret. "Lyra! I'm sorry!" Bon Bon cried out. "I didn't mean to drive you away! Please come back to me!" Bon Bon collapsed to the ground and sobbed. Lyra couldn't help but feel terrible for causing so much grief to Bon Bon. Lyra could tell that Bon Bon was not faking her words or her tears. Lyra decided to slowly come out of the bushes and stood at a close distant from Bon Bon.

"B-Bon Bon?" Lyra said to get Bon Bon's attention. Bon Bon's head shot up to see Lyra standing before her.

"Lyra," Bon Bon said in a low tone. Both of them just stared at each other as they didn't know what to say. Bon Bon sniffled before she cried once again. "I'm so sorry, Lyra! I was so stupid for listening to those rumors and for yelling at you! I didn't know what came over me when those hateful thoughts started to appear!" Bon Bon rose to reveal her teary eyes to Lyra. "I can't live a life without you! You were always the perfect mare for me! We had all of those amazing times together and I don't want our relationship to stop." Lyra continued to stay silent as she watched Bon Bon pour her heart out. "I promise I'll be a better pony! I'll apologize to every unicorn or pegasus in Ponyville! I'll even follow every demand the unicorns and pegasai of Ponyville would give me to make it up to them. Just please don't leave me!" Bon Bon let out a few more sobs while Lyra tried to process Bon Bon's words. Lyra slowly approached Bon Bon and sat down next to her.

"I'm glad that you were able to admit your mistakes. But I should also say sorry." Bon Bon felt confused. "I was the one who left you after the final battle and made you feel guilty. I was just so confused and heartbroken from your actions that I had to get away and try to figure things out. I truly didn't want our friendship to end from your one mistake." Bon Bon smiled as she started to feel hope.

"Then will you take me back?" Bon Bon said as she pulled out Lyra's engagement ring. Bon Bon also held up her hoof which had her ring that was put back together by glue. Lyra tried to think of a good answer.

"How about we hold off the engagement?" Lyra suggested. Bon Bon looked confused from hearing Lyra's response. "This can allow us to recover from everything that has happened and give us more time to prepare for marriage." Bon Bon smiled as she hugged Lyra.

"I'll wait as long as you want, Lyra." Bon Bon said as she and Lyra hugged each other.
