> I Need You! > by ForcePointMaster > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > LOST! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1: LOST! “ugh“ the lilac dragon grunted as he stirred from his sleep, eyes slowly and painfully opening to a dark, smog filled sky. “wha! Where am I?” he said as he began lifting his head off the ground, only to be rewarded with a sharp pain at the back of his skull. “GAH!” he shouted, as he rushed his claws to the afflicted area. Searching about he found a rather undamaged tree stump to rest upon. Using his free claw to dig into the ground he slid his scaly body towards the stump. Leaning up right against the object he managed to get a good look at his surroundings. The picture in front of him was a gruesome one. A burning, smog filled, dark, and decrepit version of Pony Ville. Unconscious ponies lying in heaps on the ground, planks of wood from collapsing buildings, burnt to black, sprawled among the bodies. The buildings themselves, ravaged with green flames, slowly burning away in the horrific scene. Topping it off, the sky itself was blood red, with black clouds of smoke seemingly melting into the sky. Something had physically devastated this place, but what? The dragon used all of his strength to rip himself from the cold, rugged ground. Standing upright, he began walking, unsure of his destination. All he knew was he had to get moving. Sliding his claw away from his head, he made out a distinct red liquid drying to his scales. “Blood?” he said, turning back around he noticed a dark red tint plaguing a plank of wood lying near him. He assumed that it had fallen off a nearby building, but. Looking around there weren’t any nearby. He surveyed his surroundings to be sure he was the only conscious being in the area. Feeling fairly certain no one was there; he made his way forward, dragging his pained feet along the ground. Walking through the dark and burning Pony Ville, he found himself gradually becoming sadder and sadder. He wasn’t sure exactly why the bodies of meaningless ponies in pain made him upset. In fact he had no idea of why he ended up here in the first place, actually he had no recollection of anything. He tried to remember something about himself. His name, his birthday, his favorite gemstone, nothing was coming to him. His memories were completely lost. The only thing he could assume was his memories left him from the head injury. Soon on he noticed a half standing bakery. The entire front wall to the bakery was ripped away and broken, while a number of pillars holding up the roof were smashed in two. Making his way inside, he could make out the distinct smell of burnt sugar and, gemstones? There sprawled out all over the counter was a huge batch of burnt sapphire cupcakes, and it wasn’t just the cupcakes themselves that were burnt, the icing was blackened and crisped, and some of the sapphires had melted and hardened to the counter top. Lying behind the counter. A pitch-black soot covered pony with a puffy mane lay unconscious. The dragon seemed to recognize her some how, but he wasn’t quite sure how. He made his way from the scene and continued on. “Sapphires” he mumbled to himself as he made his way down the street. “Ponies don’t eat gemstones… so why a sapphire cupcake?” As he continued on he came across the sight of what looked like a burning carousel. As he got closer though he noticed it was a building designed to look similar to one. His curiosity got the better of him and he made his way to the front porch. The door seemed to have been ripped off it’s hinges and was lying there with claw marks cutting through the front. The inside looked to have been ravaged as though someone was desperately looking for something. Curtains were torn, wallpapers ripped apart, and burnt fabric was lying everywhere. Making his way to the staircase, he found that the steps up were badly damaged as though something devastatingly ferocious had smashed each one on its way up. He took extra liberties by being careful not to make them collapse as he made his way onward. Upon the last step he emerged into a dark hallway, ounce again, several wood planks from the ceiling had collapsed onto the carpeting. Looking at the wall he found a number of huge gaping holes broken through, as well as patches of burnt wallpaper. Making his way down the hallway he found two more shattered and busted down doors one leading to what looked like a little girls room, and the other to a bathroom. At the end of the hallway, he noticed a half opened door with claw marks ripped across the front. Walking towards the door he heard a loud creak come from behind him. Quickly turning around, he found that the hallway he had come up was completely empty. Something bugged him, he knew he didn’t see anyone following him earlier, yet he had an uncanny feeling that someone or something was there, watching him. Double-checking the hallway to make sure he was alone he slid open the door, finding something that made his entire body freeze up. Lying there was a bleeding and bruised white unicorn. With a blood stained purple mane. But it wasn’t the fact that it was just a beaten and bloody pony that made him so terrified, it was her face. Her beautiful claw gashed face lying against the carpet. It was… “Rarity!” spike cried as he suddenly remembered his friend. His heart pounded a mile a minuet as he grabbed her up into his arms and held her close. “oh Rarity, what happened? Who did this to you?” He said as tears started streaming down his face. Suddenly the matter at hand hit Spike like a ton of bricks and he realized if he didn’t act now she would most likely die from blood loss. Picking her up as best he could, he ran into the bathroom he saw earlier. Laying her on the tile he went to work. Grabbing a face towel and wetting it, then rubbing away the blood from her face and flank. Upon closer inspection he realized her injuries were a lot worse then he originally presumed. She had a huge gash running from her flank down her leg. Putting pressure on the gash as best he could, he reached for Rarity’s medical kit she kept under her sink. Opening it up to find some gauze, he removed the towel and rapped Rarity’s upper leg with it. Relaxing from the frightening event he went over to the sink to wash off the towel. “What happened to everypony, could I have possibly done this?” he whispered to himself as his tears ounce again began to run down his cheeks as he thought of the possibility. “could it have been my greed again?” the thought scared him to his core. “you still can’t remember spike?” a light voice said from behind him. “WHA!?” spike cried out quickly facing around to see a beaten and bruised Fluttershy.
