> Epic Tales of Blood Moon and the rest > by SigmasonicX > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Another Way [Comedy/Twilight] > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here we go again, Twilight thought as she and her friends faced off against yet another unicorn or alicorn or whatever that had turned to darkness. How many times has this happened? First was Luna, then Trixie, then Sunset, then Starlight, then Stygian. When Starlight moved into her castle, that was kind of fun. Then Trixie started hanging out more until she finally moved in, and that was OK. Then Stygian decided to stay there too until he figured things out. He still hasn't. Then Sunset came back from the other world and bummed in her castle with her girlfriend, the alternate Twilight, and that was weird. And then Luna decided to live there too for some reason, and it started getting kind of stuffy. But then came Dusk, then Sundown, then Eve, then Nightfall, then Evening, then Gloaming, then Eventide, then Close of Day. The point is, it was getting crowded in the castle! And now there was this, what was her name, Crepusular Light! Twilight was sick and tired of providing boarding for all these reformed unicorns in her house, and it was going to end now! She reminisced on how King Sombra was defeated. Friendship energy came, and blew him up. Yeah, that was nice. No weeping pony left behind to grant forgiveness to. Twilight regarded her foe. She was enveloped in darkness, talking about how because she was distracted by her friends, she failed her math quiz. Twilight could partially sympathize, that was a pretty heinous thing for her friends to do, but that was still dumb. Fluttershy spoke, "If you hadn't pushed away your friends, you all could have learned from that experience!" No Fluttershy, don't! Crepusular hesitated and the darkness faded. No, I don't want another roommate! "You... think they could ever forgive me?" If she was forced into darkness more, maybe they could use the Elements of Harmony, and then she would explode like Sombra! Yes, that could work! But she needed to move quickly. Applejack opened her mouth to say something, but Twilight quickly shouted, "Look, I don't care about your friendships problems or anything! I.. I just had nothing better to do!" Alright, just have to make it seem like we aren't interested in her problems. Twilight's friends looked at her blankly. Rainbow shouted, "What the hay, Twilight! What do you think--" but she was interrupted by Rarity raising her hoof. She knew what was going on. "Look at you! You're such a mess!" Twilight shouted, her face red with exertion. Despite her negative thoughts, vocalizing it was awkward for her. "Nopony would like someone like you! Especially not me!" Crepusular stood there in confusion. "Are you... blushing?" she asked. Twilight turned away from her, hiding her face with her wings and exposing her flank, in the ultimate sign of disrespect. "I'm not blushing! You're such a fool! You should be grateful I even came to deal with you!" And now the kicker! She'll surely turn to darkness after this! Twilight thought as she said her finishing line, "It... It's not like I like you or anything!" "Well, here's your room," Twilight said as she led Crepusular around the castle. The princess sighed. True, there was a possibility that her plan would fail and the evil mare would turn good after all, but she assumed it would be from her friends interfering. But they did nothing! And Crepusular still turned good! She didn't understand it at all! Moreover, the new mare seemed to actually get happy when Twilight yelled at her. What's with that?! Maybe I wasn't intense enough, Twilight thought. Maybe next time I need to stomp on them too. > Blood Moon [Adventure/Comedy/Romance/Celestia/OC] > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Celestia sat in her cage. How could this have happened, she thought. Chrysalis cackled. "With the power of this Alicorn Amulet, not even the Elements of Harmony can beat me now!" Tears formed in Celestia's eyes as she saw Twilight, her precious student, on the ground with her friends. With a last burst of effort, Twilight raised her head and forced out, "You... you'll never get away with this." "I already have." With that, sickly green energy mixed with the red of the Amulet she wore around her neck, and the spiraling energy flew toward the little ponies. Stone formed around them, until they were as statues. Chrysalis laughed uproariously. Celestia weeped, and the sounds of her tears hitting the ground made the changeling queen spin around. "Oh, don't think I've forgotten about you, my dear princess." Energy gathered up just as before, and Celestia shut her eyes closed tight, awaiting the end. A loud crash came and the ground shook. That isn't what the spell sounded like. Celestia opened her eyes to see a striking figure in front of her. He was a tall stallion with a muscular build. He had dark purple fur, approaching black, and a luxurious mane flowing ethereally with a dark blue starscape pattern. He had large majestic wings and--is it possible--a large curved horn. He had a beautiful, almost mare-like face, with his eyes closed. But what really drew Celestia's eye was his flank, featuring a red moon cutie mark against a dark sky. Chrysalis grimaced. "What? How dare you interfere! But I suppose I haven't grown tired of crushing heroes today." She fired the spell at the mysterious pony. To Celestia's shock, he made no attempt to dodge. She tried to shout out for him to leave, but in her grief, it was too hard to get the words out. As the blast approached him, he opened his eyes, revealing a strange red and black pattern, almost like what could be seen in a kaleidoscope. "KAMUI!" he shouted, and the blast disappeared into nothingness. Chrysalis stepped back. "Is... is it possible? The Mangekyo Sharingan? Who are you?" The stallion flared out his wings and lifted one hoof. With a grim expression, he said, "My name... is BLOOD MOON!" Energy collected in his horn, a mix of black and red. More and more built up, far beyond anything Celestia had seen in all her years, until it seemed like reality itself couldn't contain it. Finally he released his hold, and the magic rushed out in a torrent of cosmic power. Even from behind him in the cage, Celestia could feel its heat, and it was intense, and yet... It felt like more than her skin was being warmed. She felt a yearning in her chest. Could he be... warming my heart? Chrysalis summoned a shield to protect her from the blast, which slammed into it with the force of a thousand Sonic Rainbooms. She dug her hooves into the ground as it slowly pushed her back, drawing more and more energy from the amulet. At long last, the blast dissipated and the shield dissolved. And with it, the Alicorn Amulet shattered. "How? How is this possible?" she shouted, her eyes shaking but fixed on the alicorn stallion. "With the amulet, I should have had far more energy than you!" Blood Moon closed his eyes and shook his head. "More energy, yes," he explained, "but I have spent years learning fine chakra control. Even with less energy, I am capable of using it much more efficiently." This answer kept Chrysalis silent for a moment, but she soon started smiling and regained her confidence. How is she still so cocky? She lost her power source! Celestia thought. The princess was shaken to her core by what came next. From within the holes of her legs, Chrysalis pulled out, no, it can't be, an additional sixteen Alicorn Amulets! Despair sank into Celestia as Chrysalis's diseased laughter echoed throughout the chamber. "As you can see, I have gone above and beyond what was needed to beat the Princess of Friendship and her friends," she said as she put all the amulets around her neck. "Your magic and chakra control, as you call it, has all been very impressive, but with what you've shown me, I only need the power of three of the amulets." Her eyes glowed black and the chamber was shrouded in darkness. Blood Moon's horn glowed, but that light seemed to be absorbed by the gloom. The brief flickers that reached beyond a yard seemed to be snatched out of the very air by shadows. "I summon the forces of darkness to tear you apart!" Chrysalis spoke, and then turned to face Celestia, who at this point, could only see her glowing eyes and three of the amulets, alight with magic. "And don't think I've forgotten about you. You will be caught up in this attack too." The darkness closed in around them, with writing shades lashing out at the rocks, leaving deep gashes with their every movement. During all this, Blood Moon simply chucked. "You think you can beat me with darkness? I am the darkness!" Purple energy gathered around Blood Moon, similar to but different from the shadows about to attack. It engulfed him and then exploded outward, knocking back the malignant attack. Celestia was forced to close her eyes, but when she opened them, there stood... Nightmare Moon?! But the warmth remained, and Celestia's heart still throbbed at his sight. No, it isn't the same as Nightmare Moon. The shadows moved unsurely, confused as to what to do next, until Blood Moon spoke. "I am the lord of shadows and the night. You belong to me!" The shadows rushed toward him again, but instead of hurting him, they seemed to only make him stronger as they flew into him, converting to magical energy again. But Celestia had no time to feel relief. Chrysalis had switched to using six amulets now and threw the moon at him. But wait, this was a distraction! While Blood Moon used his Nightmare powers to hold the moon back, Chrysalis fired a big energy blast at him. But Celestia had no time to feel grief. Blood Moon explained, "It was a mistake to bring the moon so close to me. With the light as it is now, it is a full moon." His fur grew longer, his features more canine. He was transforming into a werewolf. Still enveloped in Nightmare energy, the new werewolf Blood Moon used pure physical strength to knock both the energy blast and the moon into space. He stood silently for a moment while Chrysalis gathered more energy from her amulets, and then spoke. "Let's take this battle into space. I don't think you want this planet to be destroyed any more than I do." Chrysalis begrudgingly nodded, and both flew into the sky. Celestia had good eyesight, but even she couldn't see that far. Yet somehow, through the warmth in her heart, she could tell what was happening to Blood Moon. Far outside Equestria's atmosphere, Chrysalis gathered the full power of her 16 Amulets, and the fight appeared to be even. The Werewolf Nightmare Blood Moon used his Mangekyo Sharingan to summon Susanoo, coating himself in large armor made of black flames. But Chrysalis's attacks could disintegrate stars, so he used Kamui to phase himself out of existence to avoid them. Over time, Blood Moon started gaining the upper hand, but he felt his energy draining faster than it should. In a brief interlude between attacks, he looked, and he saw: standing on a nearby asteroid was Tirek! His mouth was open, absorbing small portions of his immense energy. Now that the gig was up, Tirek increased the pace, and before Blood Moon could react, he was caught in an energy blast from Chrysalis. He used his remaining energy to form a shield, but after the blast dissipated, he was completely out of chakra, and was sent hurtling toward the sun, which he fell into. At this, tears welled up in Celestia's eyes, and she called out, "BLOOD MOOOOOOOON!" A light brighter than the sun erupted from within it. "Impossible!" Chrysalis shouted. "This love I feel... it's far greater than that between Shining Armor and Cadance!" The light faded away, revealing Blood Moon, still a werewolf, still with Nightmare energy, but now there was something even stronger: a golden glow coming from him. His first move was to take out Tirek, not by attacking him, but by emitting so much energy into his mouth that he exploded from the overload. And then came Chrysalis, who barely had a chance to move as Blood Moon fired a blast the size of a galaxy at her. Chrysalis screamed, and then... To the shock of both Celestia and Chrysalis, they were back in the cavern where they started out. Blood Moon explained, "What you just saw was an illusion created by my Tsukuyomi. Sorry that you had to be caught up in that too, my love," he said to Celestia. "I was perfectly capable of everything we saw in that vision, but there is no need for us to fight now that we know what will happen." Chrysalis scoffed. "If that was all an illusion, why should I believe that?!" She took out all sixteen of her Alicorn Amulets, still intact, and charged toward Blood Moon. "Let me finish," he said. "Even besides what we saw in that vision, there's something else about me you should know." Six glows came within him, and then two more. "I am a master of all eight Elements of Harmony." A rainbow came out of him, joined by the colors infrared and ultraviolet, and it crashed into Chrysalis, instantly shattering her amulets. When the light faded, Chrysalis had changed in appearance, her holes filled in, her exoskeleton pink and green. The newly changed changeling started crying. "I'm sorry for everything that I did! And I know that this is strange, but... I think I love you!" Blood Moon chuckled. “Psssh… Nothin Personnel… Kid…” He walked over to Celestia and released her. "... But I only have one true love." Blood Moon took Celestia's hoof, and electricity shot throughout her body, a joy she never felt before. His face approached hers, and their kiss was so intense that the pressure resulted in nuclear fusion, forming helium from hydrogen. Celestia started to speak and giggled as the helium made her voice high. But she continued, "Who are you?" "I come from another dimension," Blood Moon explained. "I have been using my own magic to create portals to other dimensions. I picked up my werewolf curse from a dimension with what are known as humans. I used to go by a different name, but I took the name Blood Moon after I mastered the Sharingan. My real name... is PRINCE LUNAR." Celestia gasped. "I have a sister named Luna. You must be an alternate universe version of her. That explains your Nightmare Moon form." "Sister? But I don't have any siblings." Celestia was relieved. That meant this wasn't creepy. They walked away, deeply in love, and they approached a strange object. "This is the Sun Crusher. It is a star fighter that is capable of destroying stars and withstood an attack from the Death Star. I've been using it as my personal vehicle after it fell out of a white hole into this dimension." But as they walked toward it, Celestia's heart stopped. There stood the stallion she assumed she never stood a chance with. But now that Twilight is stone, is it possible he moved on... to me? she thought as he looked at her with bedroom eyes. "Hey Celestia," said Flash Sentry. "So who would you rather have, him, or me?" He pulled out a guitar and started playing it. Celestia looked back and forth at the two gorgeous stallions, and... didn't know who to pick. Now it's up to you, dear reader! Who should Celestia date: Blood Moon, or Flash Sentry? > The Worst RariTwi Fic [Romance/Rarity/Twilight/Objectivism] > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rarity cried, as she usually does. Spike had broken up with her, having finally grown into a teenager and realized she was just taking advantage of him. Spike was good for getting gems, but now she needed another way to get money. Rarity had manipulated stallions for years, but now she set her sights on a mare. Twilight calmly sat in her study, reading Ayn Rand and making notes on how to better implement her philosophy into Equestria, when Rarity burst into the room. The exact opposite of Rand’s ideal, Rarity sobbed and begged. “Darling, please, darling. I am all alone now, darling, and I want you to be the one to comfort me.” Rarity wore a sexy outfit; because horses don’t usually wear clothes, that made it even more sexy. Still, Twilight could see through manipulation thanks to her wealth. Shaking her head, she said, “Oh Rarity, I can’t believe the way you look. You made yourself look like a clown.” Rarity gasped. “Darling, what?!” Twilight summoned a bucket of water and poured it on Rarity. She screamed, but the water washed off her makeup and removed her curls. As she whimpered, Twilight snorted. “I guess even a dog like you can get cleaned up. You’re far prettier without all that makeup, you know.” Rarity felt a blush creeping up her cheeks. “Really, darling?” “Anyway, you were saying you needed me to comfort you. Pssh, yeah right. How about you comfort me? Make me a sandwich while I play some PS Triple,” Twilight said while dabbing. Rarity nodded, conquered. “OK, darling.” Thus, Rarity became Twilight’s maid, showing off her natural beauty from then on. Twilight took over her companies and ran them better than she ever did through the use of rationality. Rarity was happy for the first time ever, having rejected her appearance of altruism, which was nothing more than inefficient selfishness in the first place. “Now I am your only darling,” said Twilight. “Yes, darling, everyone else is an ant.” From atop the castle, Rarity spat on Fluttershy below, as she was weak. This taught Fluttershy to no longer respect those below her, and with time she too became a rational thinker. Twilight watched as some earth ponies protested the conditions at their factory. “Rarity, break up that strike.” She did, and the workers were free to rejoin the world. > Fruit of Transformation - Iron Author Fic [Slice of Life/Sunset Shimmer/Silverstream/Terramar] > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunset took a deep breath of clear air, the wind running through her mane. She hadn’t been sure what to make of Princess Twilight packing her things and sending her to Mount Aris as soon as she mentioned she wanted some artistic inspiration, but she had to admit, it impressed. “And this is Harmonizing Heights!” explained one of her two guides, a white hippogriff colt with blue hair… feathers? Sunset didn’t know what to make of hippogriff manes, but felt it was a bit rude to ask about it. His name was Terramar, and he and his sister, Silverstream, were guiding Sunset during her summer stay. “It’s wonderful!” Sunset said. “You two get to come here all the time?” The other hippogriff, a pink mare with blue… let’s go with hair, nodded her head enthusiastically, only to twist her face then shake it. “Well, Terramar comes here a lot. I like it just fine, but you know, I’m way more excited by what’s out there! Stairs, indoor plumbing, you name it!” While Terramar was fairly reserved, Silverstream was very excitable. She reminded Sunset of a certain other pink girl she knew. “So, Professor Shimmer—” Sunset blushed. “Uh, it’s just Sunset. I’m just a student like you are, not a professor.” It was Terramar’s turn to twist his face. “Wait, really? But aren’t you, like, the same age as Silverstream’s professors?” Sunset smiled. “It’s complicated. Don’t worry about it. Anyway, I think I’ll definitely find inspiration for a still life somewhere around here.” They strolled through the forest for a few more minutes, Sunset rebuffing attempts to get further explanation. Eventually, something caught the unicorn’s attention from the corner of her eye. “Oh wow, take a look at this.” Sunset levitated a strange object from out of the bushes. It resembled a large papaya, but the top bloomed into a pink and yellow flower. Silverstream put her front hands, or rather, claws up to her cheeks. “It’s beautiful!” Sunset examined it. “What kind of fruit is it?” Silverstream shrugged. “I haven’t really brushed up on hippogriff surface level fruits… or stuff in general. Terramar, do you recognize it?” The colt scratched his chin. “It looks kind of familiar. I think it was used in some old festivals, maybe? It might have been in some old wall drawings.” Sunset grinned. “So, it’s an important fruit, then. All the better to capture it in paint, then.” They walked out to a clearing. Sunset looked around, then placed the fruit near a stream. She then stepped away and set up the painting equipment she brought in a bag. She placed the canvas on a stand, pulled out her paint, then got to work. After a minute, she remembered her audience. “You don’t have to stay here while I paint, you know. It’ll take some time.” Silverstream smiled. “Oh don’t worry Profess—er, Sunset. Seeing someone else paint is really interesting!” “I’m fine staying here too,” responded Terramar. Sunset nodded and got back to work. Thirty minutes later, she was making good progress, but the wind picked up and— “Oh no!” Silverstream exclaimed as the fruit fell to its side and then rolled into the stream. “I’ll get it!” Terramar said. Touching his necklace, he transformed into a seapony then dived into the water. A few seconds later, he returned. “Uh, is it just me, or does this look different now?” Indeed, the fruit he carried in his fins couldn’t have been the one before. It was blue, for one thing. The flower had regressed to a bud, and there were yellow leaves drooping off it. Silverstream gasped. “I know what it is! Don’t you remember, Terramar? During your last transformation ceremony?” Terramar thought for a moment. “Oh yeah, that! It was on the walls.” Sunset raised an eyebrow. “Transformation ceremony?” Silverstream nodded. “When a seapony chooses their gender, Queen Novo uses the Pearl of Transformation to change their body as they like. Well, the Pearl always has a particular look for you in mind, so it’s not like you can add more feathers or anything, and—” Sunset interrupted. “Wait, the Pearl can do that? I heard about it, like, changing ponies to seaponies, but it can change your sex too? And it’s just like a normal part of being a hippogriff? That’s crazy!” Silverstream blinked. “Oh, huh, yeah, I guess you ponies never had the Pearl, so you don’t do that. Weird.” Sunset wanted to ask more about that, but it was probably best to let her continue. “Anyway, about the fruit?” “Oh, yeah. This is the fruit of transformation. It has a proper name, but I don’t remember it. Anyway, this fruit has been known to transform according to its surroundings. Or whenever it wants to, really, so it’s a symbol of hippogriff transformations. I heard these were all lost when the Storm King attacked, so it’s amazing that we found one!” “We really need to tell the others we found one!” said Sunset. Silverstream touched her hoof. “Sunset, finish the picture first. That’s what I’d want.” Sunset twisted her face. “Well, most of the painting was of its previous form and…” The fruit transformed back. “Oh, well, I guess if the fruit wants me to finish…” Sunset proceeded to finish her drawing.
