Devon hadn't exactly been the most level headed to begin with, and waking up in a foreign city in the dead of winter with no recollection of how he got there wasn't doing him any favors. If that wasn't enough, he's also stuck with Alek, a disembodied voice that only he can hear. Can the pair manage to work together long enough in order to uncover what happened to them, or are they already a lost cause?
It sure would be a lot easier without hooves too...
I continued to stare with listless eyes at the padded floor. I could still see my tail, even tucked away as it was between my hind legs. The white and cobalt colored hair was noticeably frazzled, a quality that I'm sure my mane also sported. Then I realized I was back in the mental hospital again in the same padded room as last time. I sighed, purely through my sinuses since the muzzle around my face was doing an excellent job holding my jaw shut. There was no way for me to gauge how much time had passed without a clock to check, nor a window to even guess the time of day. I called out for Alek but, I got no response.
My heart beat as loud as a drum in my ears with nothing else to distract me. The way the jacket forced me to hug myself made it so that my left foreleg pressed tightly against my chest. I could feel each and every one of the heavy "lub-dubs" my agitated heart was making. After counting over two hundred of them, I gave up. My body slumped against the wall as I let my head rest on the soft padding. I had nothing to do, no track of time and I don’t know what to do. So I just laid there thinking about the past couple of days and how I have no memory of my past. Just sitting there staring at the padded floor with nothing to do.
Then I heard some hoof steps coming towards the door, I was a little worried because i don’t know what to expect. Then the metal door opened showing the same doctor from last time and a couple new guards I have never seen before at all. “Well it’s nice to see you awake you been out for a couple hours now.” The doctor in pale yellow said. “I’m sorry for the uncomfortableness but you have that stuff on for a reason and we don’t want to hurt yourself and we want to help you. So I beg of you let us help you we promise we will help you to get better.” The pale yellow doctor said.
“We will meet again in a couple of hours, for a talk, is that okey with you Drift?” The pale yellow doctor asked. I nodded yes, because I couldn’t say anything because something was covering my mouth preventing me to speak. Then they left the room and closed the door behind them I was back starring at the floor again remember what I did and how much stuff was missing from my memories. Then I began to cry because i just realized that how alone I am and how that I dont remember anything before getting here and I was so lost and didn’t know where to go.
I continued to cry for about 10 more minutes before I decided to get some sleep because I had nothing else better to do. So I tried to find a comfortable position leaning against the padded wall either this mental hospital jacket or what ever it’s called then I fallen to sleep. I then woke up at an unknown time still making sure this was not a dream and it wasn’t. I was still in the padded room and still have all that mental hospital stuff on. I then heard some hoof steps coming to my room. Then I heard what I thought was keys. Then the metal door opened and I saw the same pale yellow doctor as before.
“Hello Drift, you must be ready to have a talk right”? The pale yellow doctor said in a calm tone. I nodded yes, and I somehow have not noticed the two guards at the entrance of my padded room. But that was not worth paying attention to. “Move your head to the left please.” The pale yellow doctor said and I complied. I removed the muzzle that prevent me from talking. “Thank y-you” I said with a trembling voice. “Alright 1st question, do you remember your family?” The yellow doctor said with a calm voice. “N-no” I said my voice still trembling
“Alright do you know why your here?” The yellow doctor asked. “No I- d-don’t at all.” I said with my voice still trembling. “Well, you are considered unstable because you freak out at the market a week ago and not calming down at all and a few of our staff heard the commotion and came out side to see you freaking out for no reason so then we tried to calm you down only to see you kick one of our staff members so we had to restrain you and bring you hear and then you escaped and now we aren’t letting you escape again we made it harder for you move around for your and others safety. So do you want to let us help you and get better?” The yellow doctor said. “Yes” I said trying to not get stressed out.
The Yellow doctor notice me stressed out so he toke a clear needle full of some type of clear substance and said “I’m going to eject this into you so you can relax and I can see that you are stressed out. So stand still, it won’t hurt.” The yellow doctor said.
“No pl-please no!!” I said screaming. The two guards ran up to me and held me down. I tried to get lose but, the mental hospital jacket was to heavy for me to move that much. Then I felt the needle Pearce into my body and the two guards let go and I found myself leaning on the wall while the medicine with kicking in.
“I’m sorry about that but it had to be done.” The doctor walks towards me and puts my muzzle back on, putting it on tightly. “I hope we have a better day tomorrow have a good night’s sleep.” And the metal door closed, then the lights turned off. so I figure that I should go to sleep now. Just when I was about to sleep the medicine kicked in. My head slammed against my two back legs.
Just when I was about to get up when my body gave in and I felt very sleepy and lightheaded then I fell asleep.
I woke up lifting me head up and leaning my body against one of the padded room walls. Then I noticed I pain coming from my head and I didn’t know why it hurted but it hurt. I looked around my surroundings, I was still in the padded room with these restraints still on me and still no sign of Alek. I tried to move around but I barely move at all for that matter. So I gave up on trying to move around because my restraints won’t let me move around because how heavy they were. I let out a small grown.
I had nothing, to do, no movement of freedom and worst of all I am stuck in this place for who knows how long. I just decided to stare at the padded floor for awhile. Then more belly started to rumble, that’s right I haven’t had some food for about 12 or more hours.
Then I head hoof steps coming towards my room, then stop. Then I heard the door being unlocked and opened and I turned my head toward the door to see the same nurse as before. And 2 different guards along side my door. “Good morning Drift, how are yo- Oh my he said with concern in his voice. I tried to say something but I couldn’t because on my muzzle on my face. “Drift did you try to hurt yourself?” The yellow doctor said with slight concern in his voice. I shock my head no, and I was confused because why would he ask my that question? “Can you explain the new bruise on your head?” The yellow doctor pony said. Then i realize that when I was about to fall asleep my head hit my back legs.
I shock my head up and down to say yes. The yellow doctor walked towards me the two guard pony’s following closely behind him. “Can you turn you head please?” The yellow doctor said calmly. So I did and I felt my muzzle Untighten. Then it got taken off. Then I spoke “Well, when I was about to fall asleep my head fell on to my back hooves hard. Then I fell asleep.” I said with a little nervousness in my voice.
Then he gave me a not so believable look. “Drift we want to help you and your only making it worst if you continue to hurt your self.” The yellow docter said in a calm tone. “I know” I said with a sad tone in my voice.
My belly rumbled because I was hungry. “Oh, I see that your a little hungry” the yellow doctor said. “Yes I am I little hungry.” I said. “Well then you wait right here while we get some food for you. Don’t worry we will be back in a bit.” The yellow doctor said as he put back my muzzle back on to my face. Then they left the room and close the metal door and I was alone once again.
Then I realized I could bearly fell my wings at all. So I turned my head around to see my wing which were being held by a canvas or something like that. That meant I couldn’t fly at all as because they were being held tightly. With Alek gone for that time being I had nothing and no one to talk to at all to past my time.
Then I heard those hoof steps again heading towards my room as usual. Then I heard the metal door being unlocked and the same yellow doctor pony as before came in to my padded room with a tray of food. And placed it in front of me then he stared to remove to muzzle from my face. “There you go open your mouth wide.” The yellow doctor said. “Wait your going to feed me? I’m not a baby.” I said with a annoyed tone. “Well yes because we don’t trust you feeding yourself yet.” The yellow doctor said. “Oh god” I said with a worried tone. “Come on open up it’s not that hard.” The yellow doctor said. After I got done my breakfast the yellow doctor picked up the tray and started walking out of the room. “Don’t worry I will be back in a little bit.” He said before leaving the room and closing the door behind him.
I decided to stare at my two blue legs that were not strapped in unlike my other to legs. I was stuck in a trance think what happened and why am I hear in the first place and worst of all I don’t remember anything before this week. I think things are going to get worst. Then I heard yelling down the hallway but I could not make it out. It has been awhile at this point that I heard hoof steps coming towards my door. Then I heard hoof steps coming towards my door, I heard someone unlocking the door. And when the door opened it was a different pony this time it was a pony with white fur and a pink mane With a Red Cross cutie mark.
“Hello I’m Nurse Redheart, I’m going to do an interview on you so all you need to do is sit back and relax while I’m going to ask you some questions and your going to answer them, ok.” Nurse Redheart said with a cheerful smile. Then she grabbed a chair from the hallway and then placed it into my padded room and then came over to me and took my muzzle off.
Then she sat back into here chair. “So first Question, do you know where you are?” Nurse Redheart said. “No I don’t know where the hell I am at all.” I said straight forward. “Well you in Manehattan Mental Hospital for sick pony’s.” Nurse Redheart said with a smile. “Ok, second question do you know any family members?” Nurse Redheart asked. “No I don’t know any family members at all.” I said Nurse Redheart face had a look of worry. “ Last question, do you know why you attacked those guards a week earlier.” Nurse Redheart said with worry in her voice. “Yes, because I was panicking and didn’t know what was going on.” I said straight forward to her. “Thank you for answering those questions the doctor will be here in a little bit to bring you to the bathroom.” Nurse Redheart said with a smile.
Then she put my muzzle back on my face and then took the chair with here. Then after that I heard the metal door close after she left the room and I was alone again with no one to talk to and nothing to do.
I feel like I’m going crazy, which is not good at all!
I stared at the padded floor and was thinking how should I escape from here because I really don’t know what to do it this point.
Until I heard some voices outside my door. They were muffled but I could make out what they were saying. “So, Nurse Redheart what did you get outta him?” Someone asked. “Well, for starters he has a server case of Amnesia, and he really does not know anything so, yeah I do t know what else to say.” Nurse Redheart said. Oh, my that’s bad. Someone said. “Do you know what he has instead of just Amnesia?” Nurse Redheart said. “ Well no, sadly we don’t know but test will be coming in soon. Maybe we should a sign him a therapist? Maybe we he talks openly about it to somepony he will open up?” Someone said.
“No that’s to dangerous, you know what you told me when you were give him that needle? He literally panic and had to be pushed down on the floor just so you could put the needle in him.” Nurse Redheart said.
“Why not we restrain him during-“ He said when he was about to finish his sentence. “You know what why not we just talk about this later ok, good.” He said. “Okey then should we take him into the bathroom now?” “Yes we should” Nurse Redheart said. Then I heard the door opening and it opened to show 2 guards and the same yellow pony I have seen before. He walked over to me and took my muzzle of my face and my straight Jacket or whatever the thing in me is called. And for the first time in 2 days I think I got all to all fours the fell right back down.
The yellow pony caught me before I hit the ground. “Wow there you don’t wanna fall down do ya.” He said with a force smile. “It’s time to go to the bathroom.” The yellow doctor said. They leaded me outside my room and I could see other doors connecting to other rooms. We walk down the hallway for like a minute and the bathroom was there. “Now you only got 5 minute until we check on ya.” One of the Guards said with a force smile. I made it into the bathroom and there was a stall for some reason with a broken stall door. the to the left there was a sink. I walked up to the door and fixed it. Then all of a sudden my flank started to glow then I got my cutie mark which was a Hammer and plank and I was amazed at it but I really had to go.
So after I did my business I headed to the sink, but then I through of something. To escape this place, so i looked around to find a vent and I did but it was fucking to small for me. “Shit that not good.” I said With anger in my voice.

Then I felt something pull me and throw me against the wall. I screamed in pain as blood started to gash from my side next to my flank. Then the thing thrown me to the sink, then slammed my head so hard it broke the sink and broke the sink into pieces. I fell to the floor screaming in pain. I felt blood coming down to my face from my head.
See you would try to kill yourself
I heard the door open and I saw two guards come to my side. “Holy shit what happened!” One of them said. “Please stay awake for us okey we are getting you to th-“ before he could finish his sentence I blacked out entirely from all the pain and stuff.
The next thing I remember was waking up in my padded room again. I felt something on my head and I tried to look up and see what it was. It was some type of padding on my head to keep me from hitting my head. I also noticed I had my straight jacket on again and so I had the muzzle on to. But what scared me the most out of all of that was what happened to Alek and who was that new evil voice who tried to kill me. I’m just so confused over what the fuck just happened and who or what the fuck was that think that controlled my body. And I was sitting down like usual and leaning my head and body against the padded wall.
I heard some hoof steps coming towards me once again and by this point it was getting old quick. Well i could guess it was probably close to dinner time or so but that’s the main thing I wasn’t worried about at the time.
I heard the hoof steps outside my door stop and heard the metal door unlocking and seeing it open to show a yellow doctor pony and two guard ponys. They walk into my room and the yellow doctor pony kneels down to my level and then starts to talk. “Drift we need to have a talk about what happened a couple hours ago.” The yellow doctor pony said with a concern look on his face.
The yellow doctor pony walked up to me with a concern look on his face. Then he took muzzle off and retreated a couple feet back. “Look we care about you a lot and we want to make you better, but that can’t happen if you keep on hurting yourself. Now tell me why are you hurting yourself?” He said “I didn’t want to hurt my self at all, a ummm, uhhhh strange force slammed me against the sink.” I said cracking a uncomfortable smile on my face.
“Ok, and did this force you to hurt yourself?” He asked with a smile.
“Well, uhhh-“ I was stoped by him. Don’t worry you will feel better when you see your therapist next afternoon I promise.” He said with a big smile. Then he walked out of the room with the other nurses and guards and then the metal door closes. I was alone again, until....
Hey I’m back do you kno-, oh shit we get captured didn’t we. Well this is pretty bad I have no idea how we are going to get out of this one.
“Alek your back, I missed you so much, a couple hours this strange other voice that wasn’t you took over my body and slammed my head against the bathroom sink.” I said with excitement in my voice.
So how long have you been here for, I don’t know what happened before everything went black and I was stuck in some black darkness in your head he’ll that was fucking scary.
“Well, I been here for 2 days now and it’s been pretty boring and I got my cutie mark or whatever it’s called.” I said
“Hey can you help me get this straight jacket off and the canvas off my wings to?” I said

I leaned down and then I felt something tugging on my straight jacket. Then more tugging, this time harder.

As I got lost in thought I heard hoof steps coming in to my way. I look up to hear the door unlocking and 3 pony’s came in. And one of the was the stupid yellow doctor pony.
Well we are fucked, this ain’t good at all.
“Well I’m back and don’t worry, we are just going to give you some medicine for you to relax and to go to sleep.” The yellow pony doctor said with a smile.
I just stay where I’m at because there was basically no point in struggling because I was outnumbered and also I almost have zero freedom of movement. Then I saw a Guard come up to me and pin my down to the soft floor. Then I felt the needle hit my flank and the pain to. Hi hen I felt the Guard lift his hoof off of my back and then I put my body leaning against the wall.
“There we go much better, you will feel better in no time.” He said with a smile.
They left the room and closed the metal door behind them and then about 30 minutes later I fell asleep.
I remember being in the market square confused and scared. It was very cold out and I remember yelling but I really don’t know what for.
I remember walking up to a pony “Uh sir what’s going on?” I said with a hint of fright in my voice.
The brown pony looked at me with a confused look at me. “Hey dude you alright, you are shaking like crazy. Do you need help with something are you lost”. The brown pony said.
He reached his hoof to my shoulder then I jolted and I said “Stay away from me!” I said with a lot of panic in my voice “Sir he’s says yet again do you need help, you seem really scared?” He said with concern in his voice.
He started walking over toward me, “Stay away!” I said yet again. Then I started to notice some pony’s started to stare at me with concern looks. The brown pony keep on walking toward me. “Sir you seem really scared do you need to go to the police or are you lost?” He said with concern in his voice.
I dash straight pushing the brown pony out out of my way. I heard other pony’s gasps as I push the brown pony out of my way. I just keep on running not stopping for anything. “Hey you!” I stopped dead in my tracks. I felt my blood going cold. I looked at the police pony with a smile. “Uh, is there something wrong officer?” I said with a smile while shaking uncontrollably. “Yes there is, I just saw you panic over there and pushed that brown mare out of the way.” The officer pony said with a serious tone.
“You seem really scared and you are shaking uncontrollably, right now. Do I need to bring you to the hospital or something, it seems like you need some help.” The officer pony said with concern in her voice.
Then she starts to walk up to me carefully keeping her distance. “Sir I think I should bring you to the hospital. There seems like there’s something wrong with you.” She says with concern in her voice.
“Stay away” I yelled out loud. And at the cornor of my eye I could see some more police pony’s walking toward me slowly. I started to run the other direction until one of the police pony’s jumped on me and pinned me to the cold ground. “Sir I need you to calm down okey, we want to help you.” The police mare said.
I ran but before I could go any further away from the cop ponys. One of them jumped right on top of me and then pinning me to the hard cold ground. I tried to escape but I couldn’t instead I was pinned down harder. “Sir resisting will only make it harder. We really want to help you, I’m honest but resisting will only make it harder. Then they put some cuffs on me. Then the last very thing I could remember was getting injected with a needle then I blacked out.

I felt Awake again and begin to crack one of my eyes open, I slowly open both of my eyes and I was greeted to being restrained in a wheelchair, being pushed down a slightly busy hallway. The hallway was white, with a white floor and ceiling. The walls were white with a green strip in the middle of the wall.
I was still in my straight jacket and my wings were still in the canvas as well. “Oh, your awake I hope you had a goodnights rest.” A familiar voice shock out behind me. “I-I did have a goodnights rest Nurse Redheart.” I said with a nervous voice. “Where are we going?” I said confused. “Oh, don’t worry you will see, after we get this done and over with we can get you breakfast.” Nurse Redheart said in a cheerful tone.
“Uhhhhh, ok?” I said with a hint a fear in my voice. I continue to get pushed down the hallway in my wheelchair I look at some other pony’s. I see some doctors escorting a Brown Philly down the hallway and some doctor pony’s and some other patients being led somewhere.
For once in this place I feel calm I don’t feel resistance or any of that. I don’t know if a was dopet up or not but that was the only moment I felt calm. I felt like there was nothing wrong but there was something wrong I just didn’t know what it was. We turned turned down the this hallway with a door at the end of the hallway, Nurse Redheart keep pushing the wheelchair down toward the door at the end of the hallway. When we got closer to the door I could read what it said on the glass. It said Psychiatrist on it, then I realized where I was going to. When we got closer to the door and the wheelchair stoped. “Don’t worry this Psychiatrist is very nice.” Nurse Redheart said . Then she trotted to the door then raised her left hoof to open it up. In the room was a desk and a chair and had some windows in the right on the room. Sitting in a seat looking at papers at her desk was a pink pony with a blond mane. Not going to lie she was kinda cute.
“Oh, hello there, you must be Drift.” The pink pony said walking over to me. “I’m Happy face nice to meet you drift!” Happy face said with a big smile on her face. “I’ll take over from here Nurse Redheart you can have a break.” Happy face said with a smile. “Ok then, see you later Drift.” Nurse Redheart said while walking through the doorframe. And the closing the door behind her. “So, do you feel safe here Drift?” Happy Face said. “N-no” I said in a trembling voice. “Can you tell me how you feel right now.” Happy face said while sitting down In a chair.
Shifted myself on the wheelchair trying to get into a comfortable position. “I-I feel so lost, ever since I woke up here in this city with no memory of my past life at all and a voice in my head talking to me and that I could only hear. I don’t know what to do anymore!” I said on the verge of crying. My emotions got the better of me and I could control what I was saying anymore.
This can’t be good......
“Hell, I can’t even remember my family!” I scared out crying. “I’m so confused a-and l-lo-st here I don’t know what to do anymore with myself!” “ I-I have even have thought about harming myself!” I said before I broke down sobbing. I continue to sob for a good couple minutes. Until Happy face got on the all 4s and walked up to me. “Hey, everything is going to be ok.” Happy Face said while whipping my tears away from my face.
I wanted to move, but my restraints wouldn’t let me do that. Then I looked up to her with a smile. “Thank you” I said “Wow look at the time my next patient is going to come in 5 minutes.” Smile face said while looking at the clock on the wall As she said that I heard the door open and it was Nurse Redheart. “Hello there Drift, it’s time to take you back to your room for breakfast.” Nurse Redheart said. Nurse Redheart started to trot towards me. the she got behind my wheel chair and started to push it out of the room.
I then look at Happy face and she was still smiling which creeped the hell outta me. Then we got through the door way. Then my stomach grumbled. “Well it looks like your hungry Nurse Redheart said.
I think Happy face is a serial killer.... And I think she’s going to murder somebody with that smile she gave you while you were looking at her.....
But I did t say anything back to Alek because I was afraid that Nurse Redheart would think I was really crazy by talking to nobody. Nurse Redheart keep ouch my wheel chair and me down the long hall and it was silent until a heard some screaming. A little pony was screaming a fit about something and I don’t know what it was but it was something alright. He kept screaming until the doctors restrained him and calmed him down.
