> Face the Fury > by MagicOrcat > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > "Have we met before?" > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight knew it was unethical, but she had sent the Royal Guard out to find the strange ponies. What were you thinking? They won't cooperate like that! She thought. She solemnly walked back into her room, only to find Spike writing letters and sending them out to the far corners of Equestria. "Hey Twilight! Do you think we'll find them?" Spike asked before flames flew out of his mouth, shrouding the scroll in fire as it disappeared. "I sure hope so, Spike. They're our only hope." She looked back out the window of her room, as the moon rose. She climbed into bed, worried. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fury stood on top of a cliff, overlooking a small town. The breeze slowly wisping away particles of smoke from Fury's empty face. His eyes still burned with the neon blue that they always did, and the flame on his horn was still there, burning the same color as his eyes. Magic stood next to him, her stubby horn only about reaching to the top of Fury's eye. "Magic, what's this town called?" He asked, his voice still echoing with slight distortion. Magic pushed her glasses up her muzzle, and went on to explain that the town was called "Ponyville", a small town one train ride away from Canterlot, Equestria's capitol. "Oh, great. I do NOT want to deal with those two princess bitches again." Fury complained, rolling his eyes. His eyes appeared to do nothing, because they were just more smoke in his void of his face. "Actually, Canterlot is in new rule now. A princess named Twilight Sparkle." Magic's horn nub flickered for a split second with knowledge magic. "Oh, Celestia's apprentice. I remember her. Such a goddamn know-it-all. Kept trying to tell me how to hold my sword properly. As if she had ever held a sword in her life." Fury had a vague memory from his pony side. "Oh you shouldn't hold it like that! You could chip your teeth!" He ignored the purple filly's warning, and continued to practice on an old mannequin. He made several swift turns, and finished with a quick slice to the neck, causing the mannequin's head to roll towards the tiny unicorn. "Shouldn't you get back to your lessons?" He asked. The memory ended as he felt a heavy wing on his back. "We need to go, Fury! People are after us!" It was Orkana, her big bulkiness made her appear as if she was 3 times as big as Fury, but the truth was she was actually slightly shorter by half an inch. She spread her unusually big wings, and shot into the sky, Magic quickly grabbing onto her hoof. Fury looked behind him to see several royal guards, and was about to open his bat-like wings when he realized that Coconut Cream had been captured by several Royal Guards. He blasted the few that were holding Coconut with his blue fire magic. Coconut ran off the cliff to get air under her wings, and was now circling with Orkana and Magic, who was holding herself up with her stubby horn magic. Fury bucked a few more guards in the face, and saw a purple shadow zipping around them, when it finally leaped up and sucked the blood out of one of the guards. Nebula. "Nebs, we gotta go! We'll get you some lunch later." Nebula dashed towards Fury, and they took off with their bat wings. "Bye, shitheads!" Nebula flicked her ear with her hoof, the pony equivalent of the finger. "Pegaurds! After them!" An ochre unicorn demanded. Several guards that also happened to be pegasi bolted towards The Outsiders. Magic buffed her friends with a speed spell, and the five sped off towards the castle in the distance. They outflew the guards, who were now tiring. Orkana laughed. "Ha! they think that they could actually catch us? Damn, we should've come here earlier-" She flew smack-dab into the castle. Nebula sighed. "Kana, you fuckin' idiot. WELP, time to assassinate the princess now!" She turned into her shadow form and slipped through the window of Twilight's room. Magic teleported the rest inside. Fury drew his sword out of its sheath, and slowly advanced toward the sleeping figure in the bed. He jabbed his sword into the bedsheets, only to find that the princess was unusually squishy. He threw open the covers, only to find that the "figure" was only a bunch of pillows. "What?" Fury murmured when a voice sounded behind him. "I've been expecting you, Outsiders." Twilight Sparkle stepped out of the shadows. Nebula bared her fangs, Orkana spread her stupidly big wings, Coconut hid behind Orkana, and Magic stood on Fury's back. His sword now aimed at Twilight. "We have a bounty to collect, Princess. Sooo... if you just give up your life right now, we can all have a jolly time. Well, except for you, 'cus you'll be dead." Magic smiled her trademark smile. "I'm afraid we'll all end up dead if you don't help me." Twilight took another step, but Fury jabbed his sword closer to her. "And why should we help you?" "I was getting to that." "What's in it for us?" Nebula asked, staring at Twilight's plump neck, drooling. She flicked her blue hair out of her eyes, and scratched at her black hoodie. Twilight sighed. "I was afraid you'd ask that. Tell you what, if you help me, you all will never be shunned from any town that you seek hospitality from." Fury's smokey blue eyes softened at this. As a pony, he was shunned, and he was shunned hard. He shook his head. He had a bounty to collect. "And why should we trust you, Twilight? Your mentors were the ones that exiled most of us in the first place." Coconut stated. Orkana started speaking in rhymes, a habit she had formed before she was exiled. "What my girlfriend says is true. The white alicorn and the one in blue. They were your mentors, after all. But united we stand, together we fall." She bared her teeth in a sneer and folded her wings to surround her friends. "You probably learned to exile from them, so we're not just gonna trust you on a whim!" "At least consider my offer. If you don't help us, Chrysalis and Sombra will-" Fury lunged at Twilight, Magic falling off his back comically. "Don't you EVER mention their names in front of me. You don't know what I've been through!" He pressed his sword to Twilight's neck, the handle glowing with a blue flame. Twilight struggled to get the words out, as Fury's sword was pressing right on her vocal cords. "But... What about your-" Fury pushed the sword harder into her neck. "What about your son?" Fury's smoke eyes widened, and he let his fire magic fade as the sword clattered to the ground. Twilight gasped for breath, and carefully touched her neck with her hoof. It was bruised. "Thunder Cloud..." He muttered to himself. Fury hadn't seen his son in ages... "Alright, we'll help you. But only for Thunder's sake!" He levitated his sword back into his sheath, and the rest of the Outsiders loomed behind him.
