He grew up with a hard life but one day changed his life.

Black Night was a very friendly bat pony, but he grew up in a rough household. His Dad and brother weren't nice at all. His mom was the opposite and she was very friendly unlike his brother and his dad. Not a lot of ponies liked him and were very scared of him since they don't really see day time bat ponies often. As if life didn't get worse for him, his job was really rough on him. Everything was going bad until one day changed his life.

Prologue:

Life was pretty easy for most fillies growing up, but for one pony it was very difficult. Black Night grew up in a not so great household. His dad was more of a vicious bat pony and loved to sneak around at night. He was very aggressive around other ponies, drinking blood as much as he could get his hooves on. He loved feeding off other ponies and he changed his first son to do the same. Black's brother Silvermoon was also like his father. He loved to feed off other ponies and staying around in the shadows of the night. He wasn't as aggressive as his father but he wasn't any better. Over time Silvermoon started to grow a little soft and started to help out Black later in his life. He didn't fully care for him, but at times he wanted to see him do better than what he and his dad was doing. Black's mom was a different story.

Black's mom was a very caring pony to many others and was very into foster care. She loved to help out many fillies to find homes and also fostered a couple of fillies in her lifetime before getting married to Black's dad. She stopped helping out in foster care due to trying to raise Black on her own. Since she wanted to raise Black to be a nice bat pony and being similar to like she was, his dad was not very happy with what she wanted their son to be. He wanted to be his way and his way only, but his mom denied him from doing that. His dad got up and left the room they were in from her newborn child, saying "I don't want anything to do with that child! Don't keep him near me or I will hurt that child!" he slammed the door behind and left his mom only to raise him.

"It's okay Black, I'll take care of you with everything I have." she smiled at him while he was sleeping with a small smile on his face.

Years go by and it started rough for Black. His mom turned him from the traditional nocturnal bat pony to a regular daytime pony. She was like that as well, but she had to convert herself from being nocturnal to being a regular daytime pony. Black had a lot of controversy with many other ponies. Most parents kept their children away from him, not wanting him to drinking blood from and "killing" them. He was always alone at school and at home since his mom worked every day. He was a very smart pony and his teachers saw that. They all had high hopes that he'll be successful in life, but they didn't do anything to help him out since he was a bat pony. They kept their opinions to themselves and never elected to him or his mom out in any way. This left Black alone to do his work all on his own.

Years went by and nothing was different. Ponies kept ignoring him more and more, not wanting to do anything with him. Becoming a teenager was harder for him. He was bullied throughout most of his middle and high school years. Black was getting more and more upset each day in school, he had enough of it. He tried to go to his mom about it and want her to take him out of school and going to a night-time school like all the other bat ponies were. His mom simply didn't listen and he still had to go to school during the day.

After a miserable thirteen years of Elementary to High School, he was finished with going to school. He was so happy that he was done, he didn't have to go to school every again, but his mom had other plans for him. His mom left him with two options. He either had to do was to go to college or find a job and move out of her place. Black didn't like the idea of moving out and leaving on his own for now so he decides to go to college and get his degree in whatever he can get his hooves on.

College was no different from the thirteen years of school he had to go through. Ponies still ignored him, but none of them actually threatened him or bullied him. It was really strange that ponies didn't bully or attacked him, but he didn't complain since he got the chance to be able to do his work and not have other ponies hurting him physically or mentally.

After four more long years of college, he got his degree and moved on to find a job somewhere around Equestria. His mom was really proud of him and let him stayed living with her until he found a job and bought a place for himself to live in. He went to many interviews at many different places and was finally hired at one job in Ponyville. Both he and his mom were very excited that he was hired.

The day came that Black had to move out of his mom's place, but he wasn't all that sad about it. He would miss seeing his mom every day, but he got the chance to be able to live on his own and endure life the way he could. He said his final goodbyes to his mom before taking the train to Ponyville to move into his new city and place to live.

He arrived in his new town. He smiled with glee, seeing all the new sights of the new town he's living in. He got a smell of the fresh air of Ponyville before trotting in the direction of his new home. He loved seeing the sights of the town, just how much he imagined it would be. Some ponies gave him weird looks, but he simply didn't care about what they thought about him. Black finally arrived at his new home, looking up at his new home, still smiling the whole time he walked from the train station to his new home.

Black was living a good life in Ponyville. Working Mondays through Fridays each day and he was enjoying his job at the beginning, but things started taking a bad turn for him. Few years down the line of him moving out to Ponyville, his boss kept putting more work on him that he could handle. This made Black incredibly stressed out from his job, and disliked working there every day that kept adding more piles of work on him. Despite getting a lot of work piled on him, he was paid very well for his work which made him stay for a while.

Black kept pushing through these tough times but was doing well for himself. Always had enough money for himself to feed him, pay for his utilities, and had money to spend for himself. Despite all that was going on, there was still one thing that wasn't in his life, finding his special somepony. Black really didn't have the best chance to find somepony to be with due to most ponies ignoring him or threatening him at times, and it was still hard for him since he's still a day time bat pony. He wanted to change that, change from being a day time pony like everypony else to being nocturnal like all other bat ponies are. He thought about this for a few months but ended up staying as daytime for the time being. More days go by until one day changed his life forever...
