> Sailor Guardians of Equestria > by Hotspot the 626th > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Act 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A thousand years ago, a terrible catastrophe nearly befell the kingdom of Equestria. The once benevolent Princess Luna, Princess of the Moon, became corrupted and twisted. She became a new creature calling herself Nightmare Moon. Passion and love for the night became an obsession that would keep the world forever dark and under her rule. But the now evil Alicorn was thwarted. For Princess Celestia, her sister, with the aid of the Elements of Harmony came to save her kingdom. Together, they had no choice but to banish Nightmare Moon to the very object of she controlled: the moon. A consequence that saddens many. And there, Nightmare Moon waited until her inevitable return. For she believed that her next appearance would be different than the last. And she was right, but for the wrong reasons. Now, it's Princess Luna's turn to shine. The sun began setting. Slowly yet swiftly heading down towards the horizon. As it moved, the once blue sky gradually changed to a vibrant orange with dull yellow closer to the sun. The lower the sun got, the deeper the colors became. Orange turned to pink to purple to dark blue, each moving closer to the sun the farther it went down. The colors flowing together fluidly in the sky. In the dark colors, the first of the stars began to shine through the oncoming darkness. Like a vanguard for an army of stars, soon more and more began to appear as the sun started to hide behind the horizon. Until finally, it had left the sky entirely. Allowing the beautiful night to set over this half of the world. Yet, the moon was still missing from the night sky. From her balcony in Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia had lowered the sun like any day. Once done, she released a sigh in relief. Moving the moon was a far easier task since it was significantly smaller. She could do so in a minute; however, she wanted to try something else. Something she had not seen in a long time. Celestia turned to look back towards the room, began to smile softly at what, or who, she saw there. She then spoke encouragingly, "It's your turn now, Sister." Then, from the shadows, a small pony stepped out into the night's dim light. The light revealed that the pony was an alicorn like Celestia. She had a grayish-blue coat and a light azure mane. Her cutie mark was crescent moon surrounded in dark purple splotch. One her head was a crown, a necklace around her neck with her cutie mark on it, and royal hoof covers upon her hooves. This is Princess Luna, the Princess of the Night, and the younger sister of Celestia. The young-looking princess had walked forward to her sister, unsurely and meekly. Once standing before her, she looked up shyly to her sister. "It… It's been a while…" Luna said, sadly. Celestia nodded. "It has," she agreed plainly. No sense bringing up the past at this point. Luna immediately became worried. "I…," she spoke out apologetically. Quickly, Celestia intervened. "Shh," she hushed her sister gently. Having her sister become so dispirited was the last thing she wanted. And she told her sister, "No more apologizing, I've already forgiven you." Sniffling, Luna felt some comfort. She still felt awful for her past deeds, though, but feeling the comforting presence of her sister again was lovely. Easily, Celestia could sense her sister's sadness. She tried to encourage her gently but confidently, "You can do this." Hearing this, Luna indeed felt better with her sister's encouragement. It was even able to give her a moment of courage. She raised her head and activated her magic. It took a few moments, but the moon soon began to rise slowly. Luna noticed this and became excited. It may have been slow, but the moon was rising. Feeling confident, Luna poured in more magic to raise it faster. The moon responded by moving slightly faster. Luna thought that she could succeed, but suddenly she felt a wave of fatigue hit her. She then immediately collapsed, and with her, the moon followed. Falling slowly back down towards the horizon. "Luna!" Celestia shouted fearfully. She immediately rushed over to Luna's side, not caring that the moon was falling. Between breaths, Luna tried to speak. Almost unable to due to her extreme exhaustion. She eventually caught her second wind and asked out, "Did we do it? Did we raise the moon?" Celestia frowned. "Luna…" she said dolefully. Since her sister had failed to answer, Luna decided to look up at the night sky. She was shocked to see the moon not up on high above the land. Instead, it was nearly beyond the horizon. "No…" Luna whispered in despair. She then began to cry into her legs, wholly dispirited. Quickly, Celestia attempted to comfort her sister. "It's alright, Sister." She said softly. Gently, she caressed Luna's coat with her muzzle to soothe her sister. Again, she tried to encourage her, "It's only been a few days since your return. You can't expect to be back at full power so soon." Yet, Luna still cried. She soon began to blurt out softly but sorrowful, "I'm sorry." Over and over, she repeated this phrase like a broken record. She was so ashamed of herself for everything she had done and failed to do. Celestia simply allowed her sister to vent these frustrations. All the while, not saying a single word. She just continued to comfort and support her sister. For a while, she allowed them to stay like this for some time. Unfortunately, she did recall that the moon was lowering back down. "Would you like to try again?" Celestia asked encouragingly. Luna said nothing, but she shook her head in response. Though saddened by the little Alicorn's response, Celestia nevertheless understood. Quickly, she turned to activate her magic to allow her to raise the moon; yet, when she looked out, she was surprised to find the moon was already rising. Confused, the Alicorn looked down to see if it was Luna accomplishing this. If she had somehow tried again, but she soon realized it was not her. Her sister's horn not glowing. "How…?" "So…" spoke a calm yet firm voice, "it is true." Shocked, Celestia turned her head towards the castle. "Uncle…" Celestia spoke out in surprise. Floating just above the balcony, Gold Roger, the king of Equestria, had his horn aglow with his gold magic aura. With it, he was raising the moon until it reached the highest point in the sky. Once set, he canceled out his magic and gave his full attention to the two princesses below. More specifically, the littlest one. He descended down onto the balcony, his neutral expression never faltering once. Once on the landing, he began to walk towards the two mares. When he stopped, only a foot away, he finally spoke; softly and gently. "Luna…" Immediately, the young Alicorn raised her ears when she heard her name. As she recognized the voice, her head soon followed suit. Her face wet with her tears; she stared up at the big stallion fearful. "Uncle…" she said, surprised and a little scared. A bit hurt, Roger sadly said again, "Luna…" "Uncle… I…" Luna's apology was cut off instantly. Without hesitating, Roger had teleported the Alicorn out of Celestia's embrace and into his own. In the presence of only his family, the often "silly but tough" stallion Alicorn allowed himself this vulnerability. He shed openly only a few tears - just enough - and he smiled fully like his life was complete. In a way, it was with the return of his fallen and youngest niece. And he told her without restraint and joyously, "Welcome back, Moonlight." Hearing her uncle, Luna began to cry more. "How?" she asked suddenly. When she looked up at the stallion with tearful eyes, she asked, "How can you forgive us so easily?" "It's been a long time since I could see both my sister's daughters together and happy again," Roger said tenderly. He then spoke again, confidently, "The past is in the past, Luna. You are here, and no longer 'Her.' That's what matters." A new wave of emotions hit Luna, making her begin to cry again. Only this time, she was doing so in relief and joy. "Uncle…" Luna said before she placed her face on her uncle's chest. She then released another wave of tears heard barely through the stallion's chest. Gold Roger just smiled and held the little Alicorn comfortingly. He did not mind the wet fur as long as he could hold his youngest niece again. Of course, watching them, Celestia smiled happily as well in seeing her family together for the first time in a thousand years. She even cried a little herself. Then, a golden magic aura engulfed Celestia. For a moment, she was surprised only to quickly be more so as she was pulled forward. Just before reaching them, Roger used his other front leg to embrace her into a family hug. Instantly after, Roger laughed boisterously. "Ha-ha! I finally have both my nieces here, we need to celebrate this!" Roger then turned to Celestia with a big grin. "Let's make another holiday, Tia!" Chuckling, Celestia then gave a playfully dismissive smile at the stallion. "I think we have plenty of those, Uncle," she told him. Celestia then added under her breath, "Ponies still remember the 'Alicorn* Day' fiasco…" *Replace "Alicorn" with "Avatar" Roger pouted. "They made those effigies far too flammable…" he grumbled disappointingly. "And the Rough Rhinos?" "They sounded like a fun circus group…" For the first time, Luna let out a short giggle as she overheard her family's antics. No longer crying in self-pity. This conversation felt so familiar to her. Never mind that many centuries had passed, their interaction felt to her like nothing had changed. It made her feel a bit of hope. Having both heard the giggle, both Roger and Celestia smiled down at the little mare. Both very happy that Luna was beginning to feel better. Thus, Luna was allowed to separate from the hug. Doing so to wipe the last of her tears away before smiling at her family. She then spoke out regally, "We thank thee, Uncle, Sister." "Oh, Luna," Celestia said happily. "You have so much to learn about the past thousand years." "A lot has changed," Roger added proudly. "It's no longer a world that's just active in the daytime, but at night as well." Luna immediately became excited. "That all sounds wonderful," she stated joyously. It didn't last long before a thought crossed her mind that saddened her instantly. Seeing this, Celestia quickly became concerned. "Luna?" she asked out. "Can we really be accepted?" Luna asked dishearteningly. She then looked up to the moon and spoke further, "We can no longer raise the moon like before. As if the moon itself is rejecting us. How can we take our rightful place as the 'Moon Princess' if we no longer can raise it…" "Luna…" spoke Roger worriedly. Celestia explained, "It's not your fault, Sister. Much of your former power was corrupted when you became Nightmare Moon. The Elements of Harmony had to purify nearly all of it. It'll take time…" "We do not want to wait any longer," Luna stated with sudden assertiveness though still childishly. Frowning immediately, Roger stated, "I'm sorry, Moonlight, but there's no quick way to bring your magic back to what they were before." The young Alicorn furrowed her brow stubbornly. "What about the Empyrean Silver Crystal?" she stated knowingly. "It is blessed with our magic, surely it could…" Luna paused as she soon noticed the expression on her family's faces. They were both frowning sadly. Luna thus asked, "What is it?" "Luna…" spoke Celestia sadly. "The Empyrean Silver Crystal is lost to us…" Roger said, bluntly. He then took a short breath to mentally prepare himself for the next part. He finally stated, "The Moon Kingdom fell nearly a thousand years ago." Luna gasped. "What…?" She said in horror. She looked over to her sister, thinking that maybe her uncle was wrong. "I'm sorry, Luna," Celestia said sadly, offering no such hope. Luna was beside herself with grief. She stepped back, feeling disoriented by her emotional state. She leaned herself against an object - the stone railing - as she began to take deep breaths trying to calm her swirling emotions. None of it seemed real to her. She could recall the last time she had been to the thriving Moon Kingdom. Just days before everything went black. "Oh, Luna!" A pure white-coated unicorn mare in a silver dress called out joyously towards the Princess of the Night. She was waving over the other Alicorn before speaking again, "It's wonderful to see you again in such a short time." Despite looking a bit mad, Luna quickly became cheerful when she saw the pony. She immediately waved back at the mare. "Serenity," she said contentedly. The two then met each other and embraced in a friendly hug. Having met in the garden, the two friends talked and walked throughout the kingdom. All around them, they passed by many wondrous sights. The beautiful buildings made of white stone like marble. Greenery lush and vibrant thrived around the city. Sparkling water flowed endlessly from an unknown source, untampered and clean. The sky above the beautiful pale white with the Earth above much like how the moon would be, only bigger. The happy and spirited ponies passed them by, greeting the two royals properly as they did before moving on to their task. It was a paradise on the moon, one that Princess Luna had been proud to have created a mere century beforehand. And currently, an escape that the young princess definitely needed. "They just don't listen to us, Serenity," Luna vocalized with much frustration. She continued to vent out, "The ponies back home do not appreciate our beautiful night like the ponies here." Listening patiently, Serenity looked concerned at her friend. "I understand that you're frustrated, Luna, but things are different here than on Earth," the unicorn stated sympathetically. She then continued in the same tone, "The days and nights work differently here, but we appreciate both the day as much as the night." Then, Serenity added tentatively, "Though, I will admit we do tend to favor the night more often than not…" Regardless, Serenity went back to her point. "Still, Luna, you are my dear friend. I understand you are feeling under-appreciated, but please remember that you are loved by both your uncle and sister as well as I. Please try to be patient with them, I'm sure they are trying to figure something out." Though her friend's words were comforting, Luna could only muster a pleasant but clearly fake smile. Her frustrations still within her mind and festering like rotting fruit. She did not have time for patience, she wanted the appreciation she deserved. And of course, the rest is history. Recalling that memory of her dearest friend, it had brought more shame to Luna as she had completely disregarded them. Not only feeling shame but great horror as well. Realizing the coincidence in the events, the princess of the night looked over at her family in distress. "Was…" Luna spoke with great difficulty. "Was it our fault?" "No!" Celestia said immediately, startling her sister. Seeing this, she continued on speaking only now more calmly. "Of course, it wasn't. You are as much the victim here as the Moon Kingdom was." Luna looked up at her sister. "What do you mean?" She asked, confused. "In the years after your banishment, there was a revolt," Roger said grimly. "And I am disappointed to say that it was led by our citizens." Luna gasped. "What! Why?!" She shouted, confused. "We are not entirely sure," said Roger confounded. He then further explained, "But we do know that it was one of the royal unicorns that led the revolt. She was able to persuade the population that the Moon Kingdom was planning revenge against us for banishing you." "What?!" Luna said, completely appalled. "Serenity would never…!" Celestia quickly spoke, "Calm yourself, Luna." She then stated clearly, "We know she would never. She was completely devastated when she learned what happened to you, and she always felt it was her fault for not doing more for you." "We all did," Roger stated abjectly. Then, Celestia's expression grew grim. "It was horrible…" She stated grimly, recalling bad memories of long ago. She continued speaking, "When we arrived to aid the kingdom and calm the citizens, we were too late. The kingdom was in ruins. Many lost their lives in that senseless conflict. Many good ponies." Luna asked, "Serenity?" Celestia shook her head sadly. Unable to even speak, the emotions of that night still powerful. Quickly, Luna understood and gasped with dismay. "No…," she said nearly in tears. The whole Alicorn royal family then became quiet as old and new emotions arose in each of them. Poor Luna could only shed a fresh wave of tears as she mourned her dear and only friend. Regretting at that had happened because of her selfishness. Celestia and Roger could only abash themselves for their previous lack of foresight and inaction to stop this revolt. Another mistake in their long lifespan. In time, the royal family recovered. Luna soon asked what happened to the ponies after the collapse. Celestia assured her sister that many survived and began anew by building a new city in Equestria. It was thanks to a young advisor that Luna herself gave to the fledgling kingdom for Queen Serenity. The younger Alicorn was intrigued and asked for the name. "La Luna." Celestia then smiles as she added, "You may find the answers you seek there." Beginning - Destiny À Suivre [“Moon Pride,” by Momoiro Clover Z. English lyrics by 18moptop] All: Moon Pride! I will become the wind that is under your wings~ The Sailor Scouts, all five, and their two Exceed, Luna and Artemis, face off opposite two other ponies. One is Tuxedo Mask, and the other is Princess Luna (pre-Nightmare Night appearance) in disguise. Neither one, however, is on the same side as the other and thus stood apart from each other. Luna, alone, stands in a dark room looking downtrodden. A silhouette of Nightmare Moon hangs over the Alicorn like a shadow. Usagi & Luna: I’ll never want the prince on his horse to come to rescue me. We will always fight and stand on our own… Then, light bursts through the darkness, vanquishing the evil figure off Luna. The Alicorn looks out, blinded for a moment, but soon sees a group standing before her. Leading out a helping hoof, three nearly identical mares phase by one after the other. First was Sailor Moon, then Usagi, and finally Queen Serenity. Touched by the gesture, Luna extends out her hoof and grasp the mare’s own and then pulled forward. Shiny Make up! She is joined by Queen Chrysalis from the other side. Soon after were four stallions, the Shitennou or “Elite Four.” The first the emerald-coat Jadeite, the dark green coat Nephrite, the red and green coat Zoisite, and finally the light pink coat Kunzite. An army of Changelings appears behind them immediately. As these villainous creatures stand together, a monstrous and evil dark specter hangs over them like a puppeteer. Now’s the time a brand new legend begins Foretold by the heavens from long ago In Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia sits upon her throne with her uncle and the king, Gold Roger, standing next to her. Kneeling for them are two ponies and a seal wearing a yellow turtle shell. The first pony was another and shorter female Alicorn with a pink coat and a mane of moderate violet with streaks of moderate rose and pale gold. The other pony was a stallion Pegasus with a sapphire blue mane and light orange coat. La la Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Appearing first are Luna and Artemis, an Alolan Meowth and regular Meowth, before joined by the Sailor Scouts. The group of mares and cats then look up into the night sky at the moon. Both Tuxedo Mask and Luna stand across from each other on top of buildings in the same scene. They too are looking at the moon. Against the moon, there is a pony, looking much like Usagi except as an Alicorn, holding a silver, flower crystal in her hooves. Sailor Guardians of Equestria A MLP: NiM story > Act 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quest - La Luna Far from Canterlot, a shining city existed on the western coast of Equestria, La Luna. A paradise on the edge of the San Palomino Desert, it is often outshined by his neighbor city to the north, Applewood, despite its beauty and culture. It was, however, a major stopping point for trains coming westward. Such locomotives would then go either north or south to other cities. One was already making a stop and letting its passengers off, either to stretch or let them off to their destination. One group of ponies was doing just that. From off out of one of the carts, there came out a young-looking unicorn with a sleek frame wearing a purple shirt with a white collar that had a black crescent moon embroidered on it. The shirt also had a black belt looping around her waist. She also had her mane styled with a ponytail, showing off her youth. This stylish mare was not alone, however. Two other ponies walked out right behind her. One orange Pegasus stallion with a spikey blue mane and a cutie mark that was a shield with a lightning bolt on it. He was carrying a few bags, each color-coded. The other was taller and slender pink unicorn mare with a violet mane with rose and gold streaks wearing a dark blue sweater with "LLU" on the front. Her cutie mark was a crystal heart with gold laces. Finally, there came out a creature like a dugong but wearing a sand-yellow shell following closely to the tall mare. Once many steps away from the train, the pink pony smiled as she looked around. "It's great to be back," she said nostalgically. Her companion, the dugong, began barking and hopping excitedly in agreement. "I can't wait to see the city," spoke the stallion eagerly. "This is my first time seeing La Luna." As she looked around, the smaller unicorn almost taken back by the sights and sounds. Her comment, thus, was less as thrilled, "It is certainly busy here." The pink pony was quick to comfort the mare. "Don't worry, Luna. Me and Flash will help you get used to how things work." "You can count on me, your highness," the Pegasus, Flash, said willingly. The dugong then barked and held up his fin determinedly. Luna smiled a little. "We thank thee, Princess Cadenza, Sir Flash Sentry, and you too, Tau," she said gratefully. The unicorn, Cadenza, gave an annoyed smile towards the small unicorn. "Please just call me 'Cadance,' Luna." Truth be told, this group of arrivals were not as they seem. For the unicorn named Luna was actually the disguised Princess Luna, sister to Princess Celestia, and second niece to King Gold Roger. Her guard was formed of skilled individuals trusted by both her family and the Captain of the Royal Guard. They were Lieutenant Flash Sentry of the Royal Guard, the Princess Mi Amore Cadenza or Cadance, and the princess' pet Kung-Fu Dugong Tau. Selected by both Celestia and the Captain of the Guard Shining Armor, they were tasked to guard and watch over the princess while on her quest. "The city of the ponies formerly of the moon," spoke Luna with hope as she looked out onto the crowd. "Here, we may recover our magic power." "Great!" Flash said readily. A thought then crossed the Pegasus' mind, and he asked, "But, what are we gonna make do for a base?" Cadance then stated assuredly, "I've got that covered." A group teleportation spell took the whole group from the train and brought them to the edge of a neighborhood. The houses looked similar to each other as they had no yard and were one-story high. It would be so until you got to the end of the area, which was by the coast. Here there is an impressive Chinese-styled, courtyard house that stood separate from the rest with a three-storied building of the same style behind it. A wall of stone surrounded the compound's front entrance with only a single entranceway guarded by ornate wooden gates. It was here that Cadance was taking the group. "I think you're gonna like it here, Luna," Cadance stated optimistically. "I know the family here personally, and they are very traditional with history both with this city and the royal family." Luna was intrigued by the notion. "Then let us meet this family most noble." The group walked up to the gates, and before knocking, the wooden doors began to open. Everyone was surprised for a moment, but the real astonishment was on the other side. From the entrance, on both sides of a cobblestone path leading to the building, were ponies tidy and neat of every tribe standing at attention. The males on the right-side then began to bow, and the females on the left curtsied as the group entered the ground. "Welcome, your highnesses," spoke all the ponies together respectfully. Flash was nearly dumbfounded. "Uh…" "Oh yeah," Cadance said in realization before smiling goofily. "I forgot how traditional they could be." For Luna, though, she felt very much at ease in this manner. Memories of her life before her turn were filled with this kind of greeting. She had long since learned to appreciate it, and seeing this reception now – in this new era – made her glad. One of the ponies then approached the group. An old stallion wearing a black vest with a white collar and black tie. The pony bowed upon meeting the group and spoke respectfully to them. "Welcome to the Li Compound, Princess Luna. And, welcome back, Princess Cadance." "It's wonderful to see you again, Wei," Cadance greeted back happily. After formally introducing himself to the group, Wei led everyone down the pathway. The newcomers took a look at the courtyard and the attendants around them. They eventually reached the other side of the yard, where they were met by a family of unicorns. There stood five mares and one colt, all dressed up in traditional clothing. Four of them looked nearly similar to each other, only wearing different hairstyles and outfits, and were younger than the mare in the middle. The colt was the youngest of the group and wearing a green outfit with the yin-yang symbol adorning on it. They together bowed before the group respectfully. "We welcome you," spoke the head mare. "I am Li Yelan, the head of the Li family. These are my children." The mare raised her foreleg and gestured over to the four ponies. "My daughters, Fuutie, Shiefa, Fanren, and Feimei." She then switched legs to show her last child. "And my son and heir, Syaoran." Luna bowed respectfully in return. "We thank thee, noble house of Li, for our accommodations and your hospitality." The mare, Yelan, smiled. "It is an honor to finally meet you, Princess Luna. If you all could join my family and I to the tearoom, please." Everyone entered into the building behind the family. They went through a few rooms, opening doors each time. Yelan's daughters excused themselves upon arrival, which Yelan allowed. Young Syaoran, however, was adamant about staying, which brought much pride for his mother. The group then entered the tearoom, where they all sat around a short table and were served tea by Wei and some attendants. They also gave Tau some treats that filled the creature to the point of sleeping. Everyone else enjoyed a few snacks along with the tea before Yelan began to speak. "Our family has waited for generations for your return Princess Luna. Many even search for ways to cure you of your curse with little success. It wasn't until after we heard about what happened at this year's Summer Sun Festival that our hope was restored. And then we received a letter from Cadance, we were honored to be able to aide Princess Luna in any way possible." Now, it was Luna's turn to speak. "Why is it so important to help us?" she asked confusedly. Yelan answered with a smile, "It was the hope of our ancestor, Clow Reed." Luna looked at the mare, surprised. "You are related to Clow?!" "Indeed." Yelan then added, "And by our great ancestor, my family and I will do all we can to aid in your recovery, your highness." Having sat quietly, Flash Sentry had a question. "What is your plan for your recovery, Princess? Does this place have anything to do with it?" Luna responded, "Yes. We sensed the magic of this metal city immediately upon our arrival on that metal steam worm. The ponies here are blessed with magic attuned to the moon much like our own. It will take some time, but We shall absorb the trickling magic flowing out of our citizens that permeates the area until we regain our former stature." Cadance immediately spoke up, "Won't that take a while?" Luna nodded. "I did not plan on this being a quick trip," she admitted. "If I may," Yelan said. "Why not allow the Li family and their servants to offer our—" "No!" Luna said quickly, surprising all. The Alicorn took a moment to calm down and then explained herself. "I'm sorry but my teacher, Star Swirl the Bearded, once stated that absorbing magic, whether through force or given willingly, is like a drug. Once you do, you can become addicted to it until it consumes your very being." Cadance smiled. "Celestia says the same," she commented out. Yelan held her head down with shame but humbly. "I do apologize. I merely wanted to suggest the quickest method," she stated honestly. "We appreciate the sentiment, and you are forgiven," said Luna. Syaoran then raised his hoof. "Are there no other ways to help Princess Luna?' he asked. Luna sighed. "Not unless we know where the Imperium Silver Crystal resides," she stated glumly. "We have a very expansive collection as well as the journal from Clow Reed himself," Yelan stated confidently. "I shall see to it that if there is any information on the Imperium Silver Crystal, it will be recovered." "Thank you," Luna said gratefully. Having another question, Syaoran asked, "Then, how will you gather all that magic? I read that Alicorns have such immense pools of magic that they could control both the sun and the moon." "A good question, young Syaoran," said Luna. Cadance immediately spoke, "I have an idea on that. Since you'll need a large and consistent crowd to draw upon, I suggest that Princess Luna goes to one of the schools in the area." Everyone looked at the mare surprised, Flash Sentry was even expressive over the idea. "One of the Royal Sisters going to school? That's gonna cause some trouble for sure." "She'll be in disguise for one. And two, young ponies would be more potent than adults as they are still learning. But most importantly, Luna needs to go to school so she can catch up on everything that's happened in the last thousand years." Luna, not liking the idea of being taught as an adult, made her disdain vocal, "I'm sure there are other ways We can—" "Actually," Cadance interrupted with a smug smirk. "I told Celestia and Roger my idea, and they agreed that it's the best way." The Alicorn stood up with surprise. "How could they! This is an outrage!" she barked. "Yelan, do you know of any good schools around?" asked Cadance to their host, ignoring other Alicorn's tantrum. "She looks like she could be a middle schooler." It took Yelan only a moment to think of a list. "There are a few close by; Tomoeda Middle School, Kunugigaoka Junior High, Aldera Junior High. If the princess goes under our name, with our financial backing obviously, she may even go to Ouran Academy." "Ugh, no way," Cadance said with disgust. "Those rich kids can be so stuck up, like Prince Blueblood." Luna soon shouted in rage, "Listen to your princess!" "How about that one school that you sent the girls too?" asked Cadance, still ignoring the princess' tantrum. "Juban Middle School?" Yelan said with some intrigue. "It is certainly a well-maintained school but for the princess…" "It'll do fine," stated Cadance assuredly. "Um," spoke Flash awkwardly, intruding on the conversation. "What if the princess doesn't want to go?" Cadance looked at the guard, slightly surprised. She then turned her eyes to Luna, who was glaring viciously at her fellow princess. It did not affect the pink Alicorn much, only making her smirk amusedly. "Well, it's a good thing I already got permission from Celestia and Roger to handle this however way I think is necessary." Luna's scowl changed to shock before making her jaw drop with disbelief. À Suivre > Act 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A moonless night allowed the shroud of darkness to cover the land, making it the perfect cover for creatures to make their move. Many began to rush or fly out of their hiding places with only a faint and sickly green glow showing their location. These beings started to gather in the ruins of an old castle in a near-barren wasteland far from the shining city in the distance. This once lifeless place became a hive of snarls and hisses as the creatures as they filled the space. They all looked to be waiting as one by one, these creatures approached a platform. Each time one did, a black bug-like pony, it regurgitated a glowing green orb. Magical aura then engulfed the ball and floated up to a pony at the top. Unlike the creatures below her, she appeared genuinely equine with a dark purple coat and dark auburn hair. She was adorned with silver crystal earrings and a necklace. The unicorn also wore a black, upside-down boomerang-shaped crest over her unicorn horn. The mare was not alone on this platform as the glowing orb illuminated four ponies to her right and one tall ponylike creature on her left. The four were stallions – two unicorns, an Earth pony, and a Pegasus – kneeling towards the pony dutifully. It was not the same for the other creature who as bug-like as the other creatures but was more elegant in appearance, almost similar to an Alicorn. She appeared displeased with the pony now holding the glowing orb and soon expressed it. “How much more of our food do you need, Queen Beryl,” spoke the bug-pony rudely. “My subjects and I have been at this for some time now with little energy to spare.” The unicorn mare, Beryl, turned to look at the creature unamused. “Patience, Queen Chrysalis. Soon, we will have everything we need.” “And what of these rising warriors defeating my subjects?” asked Chrysalis. Annoyed, Beryl responded, “I shall send one of my Elite Four to aide them then. Jadeite.” One of the four stallions immediately stood up. It was the short mane blonde unicorn with the emerald coat and a black hexagon gem as his cutie mark. He devotedly replied, “Yes, my Queen. I shall see to it that the Dark Kingdom will succeed in acquiring the energy of the ponies in La Luna for our grand goal.” Fate - Usagi In a dojo setting, Princess Luna sat in the middle of the room in a meditative state. To her front laid a weapon, a scythe with a white blade extending slightly further off its back. She was alone at the moment; however, disguised ponies soon began to quietly enter the room. Many were armed with a weapon while a few of the unicorns looked to be readying a spell. The princess, though, was completely aware of their presence but waiting for her moment. Then, one of the Pegasus sprang into action with tiger claw weapons. Luna finally opened her eyes. Her horn began to glow with her cobalt blue magic aura and used it to take ahold of her scythe weapon. She defended and countered the Pegasus, sending him hurdling away with little harm done to him. The rest of the ponies started attacking soon after, but Luna was more than ready. Wielding her sickle with excellent coordination, the Alicorn deflected, repelled, and defeated her opponents skillfully. It was only a moment before all her challengers were at her hooves, unable to move. She smiled at her handiwork and skill, but she had little time to revel in it all for long. Luna felt her sixth sense kick in, and she brought up her scythe's blade to cover her body. Something hit the edge, which managed to push her back. The attack did not disorient Luna, and she quickly readied again to defend herself from a different angle. This was the exchange between Luna and an unknown assailant for a short time. For eventually, the attacker appeared after another strike; it was Flash Sentry. "You've gotten pretty good," Flash Sentry said proudly. "Thank you," replied Luna. "These months of training were an excellent idea." The two ponies then separated but ceased any further attack. Around them, the other ponies began to recover, with some even removing their masks. Among the group was a unicorn mare with a light green coat and a brown mane. This pony is one of the Li Quadruplets, Shiefa. "You've done well, Princess Luna," spoke Shiefa proudly. "I think you're definitely ready for any situation should it require some 'aggressive negotiations.'" Luna turned and then bowed to the mare. "Thank you for the training." Done with sparring, the three ponies took their leave to join the rest of the Li family for breakfast. They joined them in the dining hall where all but Cadance and Tau were seated; however, there was a new addition sitting among the family. A filly with a black mane styled in two hair buns and long hair. Her coat was berry pink with a cutie make of a Chinese bronze bell. She was sitting happily next to Syaoran, expressing some annoyance, as they ate together. The child greeted Shiefa familiarly and then Princess Luna and Flash Sentry respectfully as they joined the group. The ponies greeted her back before taking up seats around the table. Shiefa sat with her sisters, and Luna and Flash took places by Yelan. As the newcomers were served their breakfast, Luna was concerned for the lack of Cadance's (and her pet's) presence. "Where is Princess Cadance?" Yelan answered, "She is still sleeping, your highness. It seems last night's escapade had worn them both out." Shiefa reacted in a frustrated way. "I knew I should've gone with her. This is a police matter, after all," she said." One of the sisters, who had a gold-yellow coat and whose cutie mark was a large red jewel with a yellow tassel, responded with some disdain. "You're on leave, Shiefa. You can't be pushing yourself so much with this case." "But this is a serious problem, Fanren," retorted the green mare. "Ponies are found nearly drained and weak with our only clues being these strange mares in colorful sailor uniforms." "I understand the severity, but as your doctor, your health comes first." Fanren then turned to her mother, "I'll be sure to check Cadance after breakfast, mother." Yelan nodded in understanding. Having heard everything, Luna commented, "Strange happenings seem to be occurring around La Luna, it appears." Another of the Li sisters, Fuutie, who has a light red coat and whose cutie mark is a red jewel with white wings, answered the princess while holding a newspaper. "You should read yourself, your highness," she then tosses the papers across the table. Luna accepted the newspaper and began to read one of the cover stories. Mention of a "Demon Bus" had brought much fear to one of the neighborhoods of La Luna. It was stopped, however, by the intervention of a group of vigilantes in colorful sailor uniforms, their leader being named "Sailor Moon." Another article mentioned the alarming rate of ponies arriving at the hospitals near death due to lack of energy. For the princess, it was all extremely concerning. "Young Feimei," spoke Luna to the last sister, a mare with a light blue coat and whose cutie mark is a red jewel in a blue, six-petal flower. "You've been the one to report on this 'Sailor Moon' character; tell us, who is she?" "She's pretty much a hero. That's how everyone I've interviewed has treated her. I've not seen much of her myself. She is, quoted, 'the pretty guardian who fights for love and for justice' and that 'in the name of the moon' she will punish the bad guys." Syaoran nearly snorted his drink upon hearing the mare. "I'm sorry," he said incredulously, "but, 'in the name of the moon?'" "I don't make this stuff up, little brother," stated Feimei thoughtfully. "I only report it." Then, Meiling chimed in, "I think it sounds romantic. A brave warrior fighting off evil by moonlight. I would love to meet her." Luna, too, held the intention to meet the mare called "Sailor Moon" though silent. She was intrigued that a citizen of her kingdom would use the moon in such a heroic motif. It felt as if there was hope that her time as Nightmare Moon had not eroded the ponies' views of the moon. Soon, Yelan had to discontinue the conversation. "It is time for school," she announced. The children were quick to gather their things, and Luna took her time to even acknowledge the statement. Flash Sentry had to prod the princess into action, threatening also to get Cadance involved if must. That got Luna moving, and she was soon out the door with Flash and the two yearlings. She was now disguised appearing very much like a unicorn. The Royal Guard soon went on ahead of the group before Syaoran and Meiling went their own way to their elementary school. This left Luna by herself, but she was already familiar with the path and confident in protecting herself. She walked through the neighborhood and into town, slowly joining many other students taking the same route. They all eventually made it into the city before finally reaching their shared destination: Juban Middle School. Thus, Princess Luna's daily chore of attending a public education facility began for another day. She had spent months attending this school and had grown to dislike it as much as her fellow students did. Learning how her kingdom changed over the last thousand years had proven to be beneficial, but it had long since become mute due to the way it was taught. The teachers were so mundane unlike her previous teacher, Star Swirl the Bearded, who had such a passion for his knowledge of magic and spells. At least her goal of absorbing the residue magic coming off the young students proved to be worthwhile. The progress, though, failed to advance herself from her weakened state. It was starting to become frustrating. Today was no different, and Luna soon found herself distracted as a consequence. She walked through the hallway, passed her fellow students while carrying a lunchbox. It was now lunchtime for the youth, and Luna was planning on eating somewhere secluded. Her head, though, was focused on how to convince her "babysitter" to unenroll her. The mare's thought, thus, hindered her perception, and she failed to notice the pony exiting a classroom. They both immediately bumped into each and knocked the other over. Swiftly, Luna was about to berate the pony, but upon seeing them, she froze. On the floor in front of her was an Earth pony mare with a light yellow coat and a yellow mane styled with two hair buns to the side and hair extended out from them. The young pony made Luna subconsciously remember someone important to her and, thus, unwittingly spoke. "Serenity…" The other mare, having heard Luna, recovered and looked at her confusedly. "Um, no. My name is Usagi," she replied. The pony responding back awoke Luna from her trance. "Yes, right," she said as she stood up. "My apologies." The Alicorn in disguise was about to pass Usagi, but the mare grabbed her foreleg suddenly. "No, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump you," she said apologetically. "Its nothing," replied Luna quickly. "Have we met before?" asked Usagi abruptly. Stopping immediately, Luna looked back at the mare. She unintentionally began to stare at the pony but broke free on her own by shaking her head. Her response came next, "No. This surely our first meeting at Juban Middle School." "Who are you?" Usagi continued curiously. Despite trying to leave, Luna gave an answer, "My name is Luna." The young mare smiled before speaking, cheerfully, "Wow, you talk really nice. And you look so beautiful too! And your name! It's all lovely." Luna was caught entirely off guard by the string of compliments and began to blush with embarrassment. She was not sure how to respond to the (much) younger pony. The pony was utterly flustered with the situation and attempted to leave. "Excuse me…" The unicorn was about to leave, but Usagi stopped her, looking a bit nervous. "I know we just met, but would you like to join me and my friend for lunch?" she asked hopefully. "Oh, um," Luna said, fumbling her words slightly. "Great!" said Usagi impatiently. Not giving her a second, Usagi began to pull Luna along with her. Luna did little to resist, having been swept up by a combination of shock and nostalgia. The two rushed down the hallway, with no one really paying much attention to them. There was, however, who did notice this interaction. A janitor with a familiar appearance to Flash Sentry was collecting trash nearby when he spied the two mares. He began to smirk at the sight. "Cadance is gonna like this." Meanwhile, Usagi had brought Luna outside into the courtyard. There were a few benches around with trees providing shade. On one of the seats was one light blue Pegasus mare with a short dark blue mane and a cutie mark that was a brown book with a raindrop on it. She was, coincidentally, reading a book while wearing reading glasses. It did not distract much as she soon noticed Usagi coming to her with another pony in tow. "Hey, Ami," Usagi shouted cheerfully. "I've brought a new friend to eat with us." The Pegasus immediately smiled nervously. "I see," she said. After introducing Luna, the three mares took their seats and began eating. Luna was slightly nervous about hanging around these younger ponies, but she was interested in Usagi. Her appearance as her long-dead friend was uncanny, though, her personality was anything but. There was something else about her as well, and it included her friend as well. She could sense strong magic from these two that seem to hold an even stronger connection to the moon than the average pony living in La Luna. "So, Luna," spoke Ami curiously, after swallowing her food. "Are you new? I haven't seen you around before." Luna was quick to answer, for she was already given a cover. "Yes, I am from Canterlot originally," she stated. Ami was instantly intrigued. "I've heard so many things about Canterlot. Like how it is the center of magic study in all of Equestria, and that the citizens even get to see Princess Celestia raise the run and lower the moon." "Indeed," Luna spoke, "for I have seen the princess do such." "It must have been so lovely living in Canterlot," Usagi says dreamily. "I wish I could go to Canterlot and find my prince in shining armor." "Oh, Usagi," Ami said pertly. Luna soon changed the subject. "So I must ask, are you indeed the young Ami said to be one of our school's brightest students?" she asked. As the compliment made Ami too embarrassed to answer, Usagi decided to do happily. "Yep! Ami here is like a super genius," she stated. "Usagi," whined Ami feeling more embarrassed. "Then, well met, Ami," Luna said politely. "We also have another friend," said Usagi. "Her name is Rei, and she goes to an all-girls' school somewhere nearby." Calming down, Ami finally could speak. "Her family runs a shrine nearby as well," she added. "Fascinating," Luna said before taking a bite of her lunch. Eventually, the lunch period was over. The mares had to separate to attend their respective classes, though, Usagi was confident that they should meet up again. It was a boring rest of the day for Luna until she could finally leave the establishment and head back to the Li Compound. She did not ever see Usagi or Ami after school, which was slightly surprising given the Earth pony's attitude. The Alicorn-in-disguise did not mind, for she wanted to return to her host's home to receive an update. Thankfully, having been around those mares for a time, she was able to recover enough magic to use a teleportation spell herself. Thus, in a flash, Luna was on the ground of the Li home. The mare was a bit winded, but it strengthened her confidence in magic. Upon her arrival, she was greeted by the servants as she moved inside. She traversed through the building until she reached the dining room. To her surprise, Luna found Cadance – and Tau – with Yelan inside. "Young Princess Cadance," Luna greeted as she walked in. "We see that you have recovered from last night's excursion through the city." Cadance nodded. "Yeah, and I've been able to uncover a few things," she stated thoughtfully. Luna was intrigued and took a seat with the other mares. "Do tell," she said. "Well, I found out that many of the incidences occurring over the city are in search of something. And our heroine, Sailor Moon, is also seeking the same item." "What is it?' asked Luna. "They're searching for the Silver Crystal." "What?!" shouted Luna. Yelan spoke immediately, "That can't be right. In Clow Reed's journal, the Imperium Silver Crystal disappeared after Queen Serenity used it to defeat the Enemy. How could it be here?" "I don't know, but they are adamant that it is in the city," Cadance stated assuredly. "This changes things," Luna said seriously. "If the Silver Crystal is here, then are ascension may become all the quicker." "We need more information," stated Cadance quickly. "Maybe we can somehow get a message out to Sailor Moon, so we can meet." "Or invite the enemy," Yelan added cautiously. "We must proceed carefully, or we may very well end up with a sword in our backs." Luna asked, "How shall we do this, then?" Cadance quickly came up with an idea. "Well, perhaps the Li family can host an event to coincide with the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala in Canterlot." The pink princess then leaned towards the two mares with a wily smirk. "With a special guest appearance from a princess and an heirloom of a lost kingdom." Both Luna and Yelan smiled, understanding the idea mostly. À Suivre > Act 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Marvelous Mustering Masquerade Today, the city of La Luna was in an uproar. Its citizens in a frenzy of sorts as many prepared for what would surely be the greatest night ever. The news was spreading all over through the morning newspaper and then through oral communication. By the afternoon, not a single soul did not know of the event to be held within one week. The Marvelous Mustering Masquerade: an event hosted by the prestigious Li Family at their compound, with support from the city, similar to Grand Galloping Gala hosted in Canterlot. It was also being sponsored by the Royal Family, who would be sending a representative along with a priceless heirloom from a long-lost kingdom. It would be an open affair allowing anyone to come and go as they pleased. The one keynote of the occasion, however, was that all must wear costumes or masks. To do so was to open the possibilities for new encounters and experiences for all. Of course, all of it was merely a ploy. For a while, preparations were made for the event, the conspirators were plotting in kind. Cadance was the one in-charge as she directed Flash Sentry, Tau, and Princess Luna to their jobs and duties. Everyone was nearly in agreement with her plan except Luna. "We do not see why young Princess Cadenza is the guest of honor for this ball," said Luna irately. "After all, We are the true kin to the king." Cadance immediately rolled her eyes. She then explained, "Because you're relatively unknown to the public. Even after the Nightmare Moon incident, no one is quite sure who you are." Luna scoffed at the remark. "I've already built up a lot of good faith with the ponies here, and that me and Shining Armor are quite the power couple. Adored by everyone for breaking tradition and dating outside the nobility. Practically a fairytale romance." Now, it was Luna's turn to roll her eyes. "How frivolous," she stated. Flash then whispered to the princess, "You should see how they are as a couple. Gross." Surprisingly, Tau began nodding his head, wholly agreeing with the sentiment. "If we're done nitpicking," Cadance said annoyedly. She then added to her reasoning, "We also need you, Luna, to be able to mix with the crowd so we can find Sailor Moon and her group." "Very well," Luna conceded begrudgingly. The planning was soon done, and Cadance left to fulfill her role. Luna and Flash were next to leave and heading for Juban Middle School. Classes came and went before it was lunchtime once again. The disguised Alicorn soon found herself in the company of Usagi and Ami once again. A recurrence that she had become accustomed to by now. Their conversations were the highlight of her day as she got to know these two youths. Today they were talking about the masquerade event as well as the attending princess. The latter part happened to irritate the secret royal further, though she never let on. Then, a black cat entered their area with an odd moon-shaped birthmark on her forehead. Not only this, but the cat looked bigger than an average cat that Luna witnessed. It also appeared to have strong magic, which is unusual. Regardless, Luna watched as the feline ran up to the two young ponies. "Hi, Luna," responded Ami cheerfully. Luna, breaking her concentration, looked at the Pegasus, confused. "Yes? Have We not greeted you today?" she asked. Ami gasped. "I'm sorry, Luna, I meant Usagi's pet, Luna," she restated before holding up the cat. Confused now, Luna looked at the Earth pony, "You named your pet after me?" "No," Usagi said. "She just came with the name." "I see," Luna said, but still looked at the cat suspiciously. The cat then left as quickly as it came. Luna further believed this to be unusual but looked over to the mares to see their own reaction. Neither seemed to notice the behavior, so Luna allowed her skepticism to remain unvoiced. The rest of Luna's day remained uneventful. The next day, however, she found her usual walk far more crowded than usual. She found that the city had given the Princess Cadance a possession as she and her partner traveled to the Li Family home. Luna was amused by this ostentatious display the princess was performing. Her partner, Shining Armor, however, looked to be nervous in keeping appearances. She soon proceeded on her way before she noticed some familiar faces in the crowd. "Young Usagi, young Ami," Luna spoke loudly, gaining the mare's attention. "We did not expect to find you here." "And miss out on seeing a princess? Fat chance!" Usagi stated brusquely. Ami agreed. "It's not often you get to see one of the royal family here," she said with timid excitedness. Luna would have taken great pleasure to tell them; however, she did have appearances to keep. She was impressed by the performance being put on here by Cadance. Such a grand presentation would attract all who sought after the Silver Crystal, and she would be sure to gain the upper hoof. As tonight was the night of the Marvelous Mustering Masquerade, the school let out early much to all the student's joy. Both Luna and Flash were quick to return to the Li residence to begin the operation. The home was already decorated and furnished for the occasion. Anything to be secured was moved to a location that could provide it better. Time was approaching to begin the event, and thus, everyone had to prepare. Flash Sentry and Tau adorn their armor to act as guards for the couple, but they would be joined by a third partner. Luna now wore her own armor designed with a night theme to it. Her weapon was also mounted on her back if a need would arise. They were then greeted by Shining Armor, who wanted to check in on both Flash and Tau. "You're doing great, Flash," Shining Armor complimented proudly. "From what Cadance has told me, you may make a fine Captain of the Royal Guard yet." Flash looked as his commander with surprise. "Does that mean you're about to…" "Shh," said the unicorn, hushing his friend. He then whispered, "I'm waiting for the right moment, but I'm hoping tonight will be the night." "Gotcha," Flash said quietly. "Good luck, Captain." Tau barked with the same sentiment. Soon, night had fallen, and the crescent moon was rising into the starry sky. The Marvelous Mustering Masquerade was now underway. Entire crowds of ponies entered onto the grounds dressed both in the fanciest of clothing or the most ridiculous of costumes. There was no limit to what any pony could wear. Many began to mingle after entering, and many more partook in the food provided. The Li family soon presented themselves later into the party before finally showing bringing out the main attraction. "Presenting, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and her date, Captain Shining Armor," announced Wei, wearing a simple black mask. The crowd marveled as the princess and stallion entered the courtyard from the building. Cadance wore a stunning dress that glistened against the lighting. In contrast, Shining Armor wore his formal captain's uniform with a sword by his hip. It was dashing but straightforward. Both were wearing simple masks as well. The ponies began stamping their hooves or clapping in awe of the couple. The couple was gracious and gave their gratitude for everyone attending the first Marvelous Mustering Masquerade. Cadance then had a special announcement. "In one hour's time, we will be unveiling a great treasure from a kingdom long since lost to the ages. A beautiful crystal, unlike anything seen before." She then added, "But please, enjoy the dance until then." On cue, the music began playing. Couples began to take center stage while those not wanting to participate watched on. Cadance and Shining Armor joined in as well. Everyone watched the couple closely, taking in how beautiful and lovely they appeared. A perfect distraction. Luna, Flash, and Tau used the cover to begin searching through the guests. Cadance, unfortunately, could not give a strong description due to some sort of magic blocking perception. Still, she could tell that the mare in question had a substantial amount of magic with affinity to the moon. For Luna, it would be an easy task to sense the pony out, but the crowds were too close together to make it easy. She was confident, though, that they would find who they were looking for. Then, by accident, Luna bumped into one of the party guests. She was about to apologize when she notices who she hit. "Usagi?" The pony, wearing a beautiful white dress now partially covered with liquid, looked to be Usagi. The mare herself, however, was shocked to hear the name. "Um, no," she said nervously. "No," Luna stated assuredly. "You are indeed young Usagi from Juban Middle School." "Nope!" the mare said quickly. She then promptly took off and disappeared from the crowd. Luna found the mare's behavior strange. Not for Usagi not recognizing her, for it was the point despite forgetting momentarily, but that she was actively denying her own identity. Its not as if she was required to remain anonymous. There was something more, too; she could sense that Usagi's magic was slightly stronger than earlier. Luna decided to investigate further. It took Luna a short time before finding Usagi again. She was on the dance floor and dancing with a mysterious stallion in a black tuxedo and white mask. Luna was about to intervene, but she stopped upon seeing Usagi's expression. The young mare looked to be in a dream as she blissfully moved along with the other Earth pony. That pony, in turn, appeared equally as happy as his partner. Luna herself felt entranced by the scene, and yet, she also began to sense her heart tightening. She was confounded by this feeling, not understanding why. At that moment, the Alicorn-in-disguised took her eyes off the couple, and when she looked back, they both were gone. "Gadzooks," Luna said frustratedly. "Luna." Before she could leave, Luna heard her name. She turned to see Cadance dancing her way over with Shining Armor. The Alicorn then spoke once they were near, "How goes the search?" Calming down, Luna soon answered, "We have yet to uncover Sailor Moon." "Don't worry," Cadance said optimistically. "It's only a matter of time before something happens with our 'heirloom.'" On cue, a commotion soon halted the music and dance. Both the couple and Luna ceased conversing and immediately moved towards the noise. They pushed through the dense crowd to see what was happening. Luna was the first to get through and was surprised to see Yelan drove through the ponies while carrying a small chest. Her attitude was strange as she yelled rudely at everyone and acting panicked. Just as Luna made it through fully, the Yelen-looking pony had already escaped her sight. She could still hear her, fortunately, and gave chase after the pony. The princess-in-disguise yelled at the ponies to move out of the way, but she soon found something wrong with them. Many now had a dark aura emanating from their body and moving around listlessly like zombies. They appeared to have no volition of their own. Luna dared not draw her weapon upon the citizens knowing they were not of sound mind. She instead used her magic to safely repel the mind-controlled ponies. It was not long before Cadance, Flash, Tau, Shining Armor, and the Li Family with the real Yelan arrived. Together, they were able to hold back the zombie-like ponies from the other guests, but they had no plan of action in stopping them entirely. "Moon Twilight Flash!" Suddenly, a brilliant white light covered the area. It blinded the defenders for a moment before it died down ultimately. Now, the ponies once attack them were no longer doing so, and the black miasma on them was utterly gone. They were bewildered, but no harm had come to them. Luna and her group could breathe a sigh of relief that the attack had ceased, but then, they caught sight of a group approaching them. It was none other than Sailor Moon herself. She and her cohorts, now including a familiar black cat, approached the group unabated with the treasure box in her foreleg. They were as described through the newspaper articles; mares in color-coded sailor uniforms with tiaras. Their cutie marks represented their names, Sailor Mercury having the symbol of her planet as did Sailor Mars. Finally, Sailor Moon had a crescent-shaped moon cutie mark. Altogether, though young, they were as beautiful as the princesses themselves. With a soft smile, Sailor Moon spoke to Cadance. "We're sorry to ruin your night, Princess Cadance. But here is the treasure that almost got stolen," she then handed the chest to Alicorn. Doing so with magic coming from the jewel in her tiara. Cadance graciously accepted the item. "Thank you, Sailor Moon. To you and your friends," she said. From behind, Fanren was taking pictures with a camera. "What a scoop!" she proclaimed eagerly. Also nearby, Shiefa was holding the police back. "Just give them a moment, guys," she advised protectively. Luna, meanwhile, stared at the mare called Sailor Moon. She blinked as she fully recognized who it was standing in front of them. "Excuse me, Princess," spoke Sailor Moon cautiously. "There's something we wanted to ask you?" "Yes?" "Are you the princess we've been searching for? The Moon Princess?" Cadance smiled. "I don't believe am," she admitted honestly. The group of mares and the cat were confused. Sailor Moon then asked, "Then, the treasure…" "Is not real," Cadance further admitted. She then offered the whole truth, "This whole thing was set up so we could meet you and your friends, Sailor Moon." Now, the group gasped. The idea that this party was a ruse to see them had never crossed their minds, and now, they feared that they were trapped. Before Cadance could fully explain, a rose struck between the two groups, and a smoke bomb went off. There came a shout from a stallion, "Run, Sailor Moon!" And the hurried hoof-steps singled the group leaving hurriedly. Not wanting to miss this opportunity, Luna dashed through the smoke and give chase. She went after them as they hopped over the stone wall. The last to go was Sailor Moon, who looked back at the compound distraught. As she was about to leave, Luna knew that she had to gain the mare's attention. Luna threw off her helmet quickly and stopped midway to the wall. She then shouted, "Usagi!" Sailor Moon stopped and looked back. She then glanced down to see the now undisguised Luna and gasped with shock. Both mares locked eyes as one recognized the other now. Sailor Moon appeared confused, but she soon left all the same. Luna did nothing more to follow after; she had already gotten the answer she needed. Usagi was, indeed, Sailor Moon. À Suivre > Act 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sailor Moon - Usagi "What?! You're saying you were recognized? Impossible!" Now daytime, the scene is set not on our usual cast but, instead, the ones once playing the support. There is Usagi, Ami, and a third mare sitting outside in a shrine within the city of La Luna. They are with Luna, the black cat, who no longer acted like an animal. She stood up right now and able to use her front paws for typical tasks requiring hands. In reality, she was not cat by nature but another species entirely. Something to be revealed later. At this time, Luna was fretting over a shocking revelation. "Are you sure you were recognized?" she asked severely. Usagi nodded with a frown. "I think so." Ami asked, "How was she able to recognize you? Don't our sailor uniforms block ponies' perception?" Luna furrowed her brow as she tried thinking of an answer. "The most plausible answer I can think of is that she, Luna, has some connection to Usagi." "She's my friend," Usagi stated meaningfully. The blue Pegasus immediately objected. "But our other friends have never been able to see through our disguises before-hoof." Mindfully, the red unicorn commented, "It doesn't seem to make much sense." "I can't believe Luna is a Royal Guard though," Ami said, distressed. "She's been going to school with us since the start of the year." The unicorn, with a cutie mark of burning incense, spoke, "What I want to know is, why was she doing this in the first place." Ami explained, "She never once asked anything about Sailor Moon or what has been happening around the city. I don't know what to tell you, Rei." "Then what was all that at the masquerade party?" asked the unicorn, Rei, frustratedly. "Why is the kingdom so interested in us?" "I don't know," Luna admitted distraughtly. Rei continued. "But this is becoming a serious problem now. How will we be able to find the rest of the Sailor Guardians, or the Moon Princess, or the Silver Crystal? Our enemies keep growing." Immediately, Usagi stood up, looking angry. "Luna is not our enemy!" she stated decisively, surprising everyone. "There's no way that someone who shares their lunch with you can be a bad guy!" Luna looked at the mare worriedly. "Usagi…" "Let's just ask her ourselves," Usagi suggested confidently. "Tomorrow, at school during lunch, she'll tell us the truth. I know it." The group, despite their own misgivings, had no way of changing their leader's mind. To confront the problem head-on did seem like a sound strategy for this dilemma. They decided to trust in Usagi's judgment and wait for the next day. But, when it arrived, there was no Luna (pony) to be found. "What is the meaning of this, Beryl!" shouted Chrysalis in outrage. Around her, within the ruined castle, scores of the bug-pony queen's subjects were laid out and unconscious. Few of their own were attending to them, but recovery would still take time. So, now, Chrysalis was in a foul mood as her active minions dwindled with each passing day. "The Changelings will not stand for this abuse!" Appearing from the other end, Beryl and her stallions entered the room. "We still need more energy, Chrysalis. My plan has yet to come to fruition." "Then send your lapdogs to collect it!" shouted the bug pony. "We are already suffering enough from your enemies, attacking us consistently." Annoyed, Beryl conceded to her ally's point. "Very well. Zoisite, I'll let you take charge in this matter." The pony Zoisite, a Pegasus with a purple-pink coat, stepped forward. "Of course, my queen," he replied dutifully. "If I may," another one of Beryl's stallions moved forward. He was the other unicorn of the group who had a light pink coat and a white mane. His cutie mark was a black octagon gem. "I would like to help." Beryl was intrigued. "That is fine with me; in fact, why not all my Elite Four work together to finally end these nuisances once and for all." Together, the four stallions spoke, "It will be done." Other the next few days, the Sailor Guardians would attend school as usual in the hope that Luna would be there as well. Not once did she appear. A week after the masquerade party soon passed with no sign or clue of the mare. Within that same time, the Royal Guard or the police never came after them. It was almost troubling for the group but mostly for Usagi. She desperately wanted to see Luna again and to hear her explanation that would clear up everything. It was even making her more airheaded than usual. Much continued to happen, however. The group soon acquired a new member, a slender and tall Earth pony by the name of Makoto. The feisty light green mare became Sailor Jupiter, whose strength and courage would aid the Sailor Guardians further against the Enemy. She was also a good friend as she suggested that they take a day for themselves, to get their minds off their concerns for one afternoon. "Who wants ice cream?" spoke Makoto cheerfully, carrying a tray with ice cream in cones. At one of the local ice cream parlors, the Sailor Guardians were trying to enjoy their time off. Each took a cone and began licking and eating them. Though most everyone was enjoying themselves, only Usagi remained in the doldrums and barely eating her dessert. This was a shock to the others as they knew their friend always liked to eat. "Usagi," spoke Luna (cat) sadly. "Please try not to fret other this matter. We'll figure something out." The Earth pony glanced at the cat. "I just wish we knew where she was," she stated glumly. Makoto commented to the others, "This other Luna must be really important to her." Ami nodded. "Usagi was always so adamant about having her join us for lunch, even though she looked like she wanted to be left alone." "Why, though?" asked Rei. "She always said it was like 'a warm feeling' that felt both new and familiar at the same time." Before they could think much other the idea, a stallion's shout drew the group's attention. All of them got up and quickly rushed to the source. There was a crowd already formed where they found the problem. High above, two window cleaners were hanging off their rick. One of them was about to lose their hold on the bars. Despite her mood, Usagi was determined to do something. "All right, girls. Let's—" Before Usagi could finish, the Earth pony began to fall. The girls were about to transform before someone caught the stallion first. To the Sailor Guardians' surprise, it was a figure they all knew well. "Sailor Moon?!" Usagi then frantically spoke, "B-B-B-But I'm right here?" The group watched as the twin Sailor Moon landed and gently set the stallion down safely. She then rushed to retrieve the next pony before he was to fall. The crowd marveled at these heroic actions, but not all were so easily fooled. "Why is someone acting like Sailor Moon?" asked Rei suspiciously. A stallion walked up behind the group, watching the scene as well. The grey-coated Earth pony then spoke, "Fame and glory, perhaps?" The group of mares was surprised to hear the stallion. Usagi, however, then became dreamy-eyed as she stared at the handsome pony. "Mamoru…" "But I've seen those two work before, and that scaffold has never broken before," the pony Mamoru continued. "I suspect that imitation may be behind this peril." "That's awful!" Usagi said, appalled. "We should—" Quickly, Rei covered her friend's mouth, knowing exactly what she was about to blurt out. "Well then, let's hope the real Sailor Moon discovers this soon and puts a stop to it," she said calmly. Mamoru smiled and nodded. "Indeed," he then took his leave of the group. "See you later, Bunhead," the stallion said teasingly. Infuriated by the comment, Usagi wanted to shout at the stallion. It was fortunate that her friend kept her hoof in place to cease such action. Once she cooled down, Usagi was ready to catch the imposter. All her friends were willing and ready. They all quickly moved away from the crowd and ducked into a nearby alleyway. To the other side, they went, reaching a back alley with enough space. A quick check of their surroundings proved that that coast was clear. The yellow earth pony nodded in affirmation, and she her hooves over her brooch, one holding four-colored orbs - blue, red, green, and orange. "Moon Prism Power…" Her friends soon followed. Each raising a pen unique to them with a color similar to its owner. "Mercury Power…" "Mars Power…" "Jupiter Power…" "Make Up!" the group shouted together. Brilliant colored light shined from the pens and illuminated the mares. It completely covered their bodies in color matching their coat before bursting off them a moment later. The young ponies now appeared different from their former selves though still distinguishable. Each wore a sailor suit uniform with trimmings and a bow at the chest matching their own color. The exception was Sailor Moon, whose costume was more individual. Gold tiaras now adorned the crown of their heads with a matching gem to their color; again, with Sailor Moon's being red. Finally, their cutie marks were now different. These magical markings were transformed into new ones matching their planetary symbol, of course, except for Sailor Moon, whose cutie mark was now a crescent moon. "Alright, Sailor Guardians," spoke Sailor Moon confidently. "Let's catch that imposter!" Everyone followed Sailor Moon's lead and left the alley. It was not long when they caught sight of the imposter, standing in front of an admiring crowd. The doppelganger saw the group over the crowd and swiftly made her escape. The group immediately gave chase after her. They were able to quickly gain on the mare. She had taken a twisting route that nearly got them lost. By evening, the Sailor Guardians finally trapped her within a construction zone. Except, the doppelganger was not alone. There was another with it. "Three Sailor Moons?" Sailor Jupiter said, confused. Luna shouted out, befuddled, "What is going on here?" Immediately, the two doppelgangers began to smirk twistedly. The entrances were suddenly covered in a purple barrier. Everyone was shocked and looked backed at the imposters. They were on guard as they could sense something malicious about to happen. The two Sailor Moons then began to chuckle before turning it into full-on evil laughter. Their appearance began to twist and change as such. No longer were they Sailor Moon; they had become two stallions, a Pegasus and an Earth pony, that the Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask knew well. "Nephrite! Zoisite!" Sailor Moon named bitterly. Suavely, the Earth Pony greeted the group. "The stars told me of our fated reunion, Sailor Guardians," spoke Nephrite. The Pegasus greeted them as well in a vain manner, "My, how lucky you all are to see beautiful me again." Then, two more jumped out of the shadows, surprising the group. They revealed themselves as two unicorns and stood beside each of the stallions. The Sailor Guardians were shocked by their sudden arrival. "That's Jadeite," spoke Sailor Mercury, surprised. Jadeite chuckled maliciously. "My queen has finally allowed me to rectify my failures and take revenge on you do-gooders!" Sailor Mars though, focused on the new pony. "But who is that fourth pony?" she asked aloud. The last member of the group responded after giving a polite bow towards the group. "Greetings, everyone," he began saying, "I am Kunzite. The leader of our queen's Elite Four, the Dark Kingdom's finest warriors." "Kunzite?" Sailor Mercury spoke confused. "We have been tasked with your destruction by our queen, and together, we will not fail her," announced Kunzite. Immediately, the four stallions began to glow with energy. It was a vast amount that felt evil in nature. The Sailor Guardians could sense the pressure emanating from the Elite Four's display. None faltered, and they together stood their ground against evil ponies. The groups launched at each other, and their battle begins. Sailor Moon took on Kunzite alone. The other Sailor Guardians took on the other stallions one-on-one. Sailor Mars fought Jadeite, Sailor Mercury battled against Zoisite, and Sailor Jupiter clashed with Nephrite. The two groups appeared evenly matched. Their attacks matched and countered before it happened all over again. "We will defeat you!" shouted Sailor Moon determinedly. Kunzite smirked. "You will try…" Suddenly, there came shouts from the other three members of the Elite Four. Kunzite looked out to see his comrades pushed back and injured. It shocked the stallion, and he looked back over to see what happened. Sailor Moon did the same, and they together were astounded. There were now new fighters next to the Sailor Guardians; two ponies and a small creature. Of the three, they all could recognize the one pony that stood – at the same height – next to Sailor Jupiter. "Princess Cadance!" revealed the Sailor Guardians together. Cadance gave an acknowledging nod to the group before turning her attention to the stallions. She then declared, "Surrender now, and you won't have to look like chumps in the next 10 seconds." The other pony, Flash Sentry, also gave out a comment. "I'd do as she says, guys. This won't end well for you otherwise." Tau, the creature, gave a stern yip in agreement. Looking over his comrades, Kunzite was filled with anger. His horn began to spark as he announced his intention, "You fools! You may outnumber us, but you do not outmatch us." One by one, the other Elite Four members regained composure and were ready to attack again behind Kunzite. He noticed this and attempted to intimidate their opponents. "We do not fall so easily, Princess. Our time is—" "Death Scythe Baku…" A new female voice interrupted Kunzite, and its sudden appearance freaked both him and his comrades. They turned around, having heard the speaker from behind, and prepared to attack. "Devour," spoke the mare calmly. In a swift flash of white, everything and every pony held still. The Sailor Guardians were confused before looking more closely at the Elite Four. It was strange that none of them were moving, and they were wondering why not. Before they could approach them, all four stallions collapsed much to the mares shock. At the same time, the barriers behind them were lifted. Luna (cat) quickly investigated the stallions. "They've been knocked out," she discovered, "and they completely drained of energy." "Yes," spoke the voice from before, stepping forward from the shadows. "It is the unique ability of our weapon, Death Scythe Baku, to 'eat' the energy of our opponents while leaving them mostly unharmed." Sailor Moon gasped. "Luna," she said hopefully. The mare in question smiled. "Yes, Usagi, but we are normally addressed as…" Luna then revealed her wings to the group, who all gasped in surprise. "Princess Luna: Princess of the Moon." À Suivre > Act 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ally - Friend “Fools!” In the ruined castle, the screeching hollering of Beryl echoed throughout. Her voice was then followed an equally loud boom and then a crash. The chamber now looked like a warzone as a blast of dark purple-colored magic struck a part of the room. As the broken stone fell, the Changelings scurried out of their path as quickly as possible. It was not the end, unfortunately, as Beryl continued her reckless onslaught. Many Changelings were already hurt, and many more were in hiding out of fear. For Beryl, it did not matter. “Useless!” Beryl fired another blast of magic. “Weak!” Again. “Pathetic!” And again. “Imbeciles!” The only left in the room was Chrysalis, who appeared more than amused by the tantrum her partner was throwing. “My how the mighty have fallen,” she mocked openly. Beryl immediately set her glare upon the Changeling queen. Her horn began to spark with magic as she prepared another attack; this time, it would be aimed at the impertinent Changeling mare. Chrysalis did not take the gesture lightly. Her own horn began to glow a brilliant green magic aura, ready to either attack or defend herself. None of the regular Changelings dare intrude on this fight between two powerful magic-users. Suddenly, the crystal on Queen Beryl’s staff began to glow. The group, even its owner, were surprised to see the gem start flashing, almost doing so urgently. Beryl forgets her woes and rage as something more pressing came to light. She took off down the hallway from the throne room, leaving Chrysalis behind utterly confused. The unicorn raced through the castle without a moment to lose. Her journey was not too long as she soon approached a large set of metal doors deep within. Upon opening them, the unicorn enters quickly. She then immediately begins to kneel and speak. “My queen, Metalia, why have you requested me so urgently?” asks Beryl immediately. To whom Queen Beryl was speaking to; before her was a nebulous cloud of black, dark red, and purple smoke taking the shape of a pony. It was nothing more than a formless monster: yet, its red eyes and mouth was smirking like it had a plan. “The loss of our generals is disappointing,” spoke Metalia, speaking so with a female voice. “But the arrival of the lost Princess Luna, though…” Beryl looked up, confused. “What do you mean, my queen?” Metalia began to cackle lowly, a plan forming in her mind. Luna stood in the city alone: empty. The Alicorn knew not why there were no citizens out, but it was mysterious. What was more concerning for her was her appearance; she no longer looked like a younger version of herself. Her coat now darker blue, her mane now had an ethereal effect like a night sky, and she stood taller. She looked as she did before her change, precisely the same. It confounded her, along with the disappearance of all the ponies. She attempted to search for everyone, calling the names of those she knew first before asking for any pony. The situation was entirely unnerving for the mare. Someone or something had to be around. While Luna walked around searching, she had not realized that her shadow was stretching from where she started. The black path soon began to seep with sinister ooze and bubble. Then, from the same point, something began to rise. As the Alicorn was about to call out again, she found her trot halted suddenly. She was immediately confused and looked back. “Gadzooks!” she gasped. The black goo began to lift higher and started to take the form of a pony, one much taller than herself. The being had a slender body, a long horn like a unicorn, and pointed wings. The creature became more substantial with each second and soon revealed to have sharp teeth before laughing evilly. The Alicorn stared in horror as she recognizes the form. “You…!” “Yes!” answered the creature – female – back sinisterly. The being began to walk forward, its body became more whole as it came closer. “Did you really think you could get rid of us,” spoke the thing as it became complete. “No,” said Luna horrified. The creature walked up to Luna and lowered her head to the mare. She whispered to her, maliciously, “We are you.” “NO!” Instantly, Luna awoke in a dead sweat. All that she recalled in her memory had just been a dream. A nightmare, if the mare had to be honest. She remained within her bed as she panted exasperatingly. Her vision soon gazed over to the curtain-drawn window, where she could see morning’s first light already shining into her room. It did not sit well with her to go back to sleep, even if she felt tired. Though the nightmare had felt real, it only helped cement her determination. There was still more to be done to return herself to her former glory. On this morning, countrywide news hit La Luna. The first-page story talked about a weird disturbance that occurred yesterday around Canterlot, even reaching to a small town called Ponyville. The newspaper’s heading described the entire section: “Chaos!” Pictures of the strange, disturbing, and downright kooky images littered the paper on every page. The actual description explained that it was all caused by some creature named Discord, only to be defeated by a brave band of ponies. The very same ones that defeated Nightmare Moon some time ago. The citizens of La Luna were flabbergasted by the news, but it was the talk of the town. However, this was not true for everyone. A group of young mares and cat had other things on their mind. The most prominent being the large building standing before them, followed by a row of attendants that were leading them in. The Sailor Guardians, along with Luna (cat), were now at the Li residence, and none of them could believe it. “There is much we would like to discuss with you,” Luna had told them the day before, “please come to the Li household where we can have a proper talk.” The group had decided on doing so. Wei escorted the mares personally onto the compound. While trotting along, the girls could not help but marvel at how impressive the property was on the inside. It was almost like a castle. Through the courtyard, they traveled and then entered into the older building. The group soon came upon the main room, where Flash Sentry and Tau stood guard. “Hello, ladies,” the Pegasus greeted politely. Tau greeted the group with a yip and bow. Ami suddenly gasped with realization. “Aren’t you the janitor at our school?” she asked, almost assuredly. Flash chuckled with a grin. “Yep,” he replied honestly. The Sailor Scouts then went inside and saw Luna, Princess, sitting on a mat and sipping tea, appearing to be waiting patiently for them. She was not alone, but she was with someone they did not expect. Luna introduced the mare, Yelan, to the girls and that she would be joining their meeting. The girls took the seats offered to them, sitting opposite of Luna and Yelan cross the table. Once their guests were comfortable, Yelan began their meeting. “Good morning, ladies. I am Yelan Li, head of the Li Family. I, firstly, would like to thank you all for everything you’ve done these past weeks in protecting this city and her people. Your actions have shown you all to be truly noble and kind individuals who deserve as much praise as the bearers of the Elements of Harmony.” Many of the girls began to blush and smile. It was the first time outside Luna (cat) that some-pony complimented them on doing their job. It was almost embarrassing. Then, Yelan became more formal. “Now then,” she began, “I shall introduce you, Sailor Guardians, to our princess. The Princess of the Moon, the Dreamwalker, and the second Princess of Equestria, Princess Luna.” Luna bowed her head slightly. “Greetings.” The girls were silent for a moment before Usagi spoke. “You really are a princess?” she asked. “Indeed, Usagi.” “Whoa,” said the Earth pony, amazedly, a sentiment shared among her friends. “Fascinating, yes,” spoke Luna (cat) as she hopped onto the table. Her mood, however, showed she was still suspicious and wanted to get to the bottom of it. Luna (pony) then spoke to Usagi, curiously. “Is this your familiar?”. Before Usagi could answer, Luna (cat) stepped forward first. “I am no one’s familiar. I am her guardian, Luna. Moreover, I’m the adviser to the Sailor Guardians and the Moon Princess Serenity.” The feline then stated firmly, “And you are not the Moon Princess we seek." The Alicorn princess nodded. “We know.” “The true—” Luna (cat) stopped speaking when she heard the princess. She immediately asked puzzled, “Then, why are you…?” Yelan responded first by placing a book upon the table. It was an old and tattered book with a fading symbol on it of the sun and the moon. Yelan spoke, “Allow me to tell you a story, girls, passed down in my family.” Long ago, a terrible fiend rose up and took over the realm of Equestria with his chaos and trickery. The king, a reckless but just Alicorn, fought back to end the creature’s reign but had no way of settling to stop it. The King’s nieces, one who could raise the sun and the other that brings out the moon, attempted to aide their citizens in any way possible. A solution was devised to send as many as possible to a safe place. The moon was chosen as it was far from the reach of the monster terrorizing the land. Under the Princess of the Moon’s guidance, she selected a trusted friend to oversee the ponies on the moon. The princess, thus, continued to help others on Earth. In time – too much time – a proper solution revealed itself, and the tyrant was defeated. The Kingdom of Equestria could return to its peace and her ponies to a sense of normalcy. However, ponies on the moon, who had long been left unsupervised, had grown into a nation all their own. It would look like war if not for the strong friendship between the Princess of the Moon and the new Moon Queen. The newly established Moon Kingdom was granted its sovereignty, and an alliance was made. In celebration, the Princess of the Moon gave her friend her two gifts. Her trusted advisor and some of her power. It took the form of a beautiful silver crystal and named as such: the Imperium Silver Crystal. As time passed on, the Princess of the Moon disappeared, and the ponies on Earth grew both jealous of the shining kingdom of them and suspicious of the power that the moon could wield. Without warning, an attack took place lead by a noble-mare. The destructive power she held destroyed both her and the Moon Kingdom, leaving its citizens to return to Earth. The Queen and her heir, the Moon Princess, died along with their guard. Only the Royal Advisor survived. As an act of apology, the King gave the ponies land to begin anew. With the help of the Royal Advisor, they thrived again. “…Thus was the tale written by Clow Reed, my ancient relative, royal advisor to both Princess Luna and then Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom, and founder of the city of La Luna.” Yelan concluded her story. The young mares were flabbergasted by the story. They even looked to Luna, who had been knowledgeable in the subject of the Moon Kingdom, to see if she would state otherwise. Luna (cat) confirmed without hesitation the legitimacy of the story. “I was there for some of it,” stated Luna (cat) unhappily, to everyone’s surprise. “While I don’t know much about the founding, I do know about the later part. I witnessed the destruction of the Moon Kingdom, and the loss of our queen and princess.” “No way,” Rei said in disbelief. “Oh, Luna,” spoke Ami sadly, sensing the grief within the cat. However, the cat soon became hopeful. “And that’s why I had to find you girls.” “Queen Serenity used the last of her power bestowed by the Silver Crystal to reincarnate the Moon Princess and the Sailor Guardians in the future. And she sent me to find you all to help the Moon Princess when the time came. It was her last request of me.” Luna (pony) placed her hoof upon the table, looking determined. “Then we shall honor our fallen friend’s last request,” she stated. Luna (cat) and everyone looked at the Alicorn, and she asked, “What do you mean?” “The original point of this meeting was to ascertain your goals and confirm some information. Our own goal was simply to recover the Silver Crystal to regain our former power. But in knowing now Serenity’s final wish, We would be honored to aide in recovering the Moon Princess as well.” While Luna (cat) and the Sailor Guardians were astounded by the proposition, Usagi was ecstatic. She immediately lunged over the table and took ahold of the Alicorn’s hoof, looking hopeful and optimistic. “You’re really going to help?” she said. The Alicorn blushed immediately. “Y-Yes,” she said anxiously. Usagi smiled happily but then had a thought. She kept her hoof firmly on Luna’s hoof as she asked her seriously and even more hopeful, “Does that mean you’ll come back to school and hang with us?” Now surprised, Luna had to take a moment to think over the request. Her disdain for the public education center was not a well-hidden secret. Still, she felt something compel her to disregard that feeling. She thus began to smile and nodded. “Yes, I shall return.” “Yay!” cheered Usagi happily. The other Sailor Guardians, and Luna (cat), began to smile now. Usagi was finally acting like herself again, which meant they could return to how things were before. Now though, it would seem they had a new friend and ally to count on. Luna (pony) suddenly proclaimed, “The alliance between the Kingdom of Equestria and the Moon Kingdom is now renewed! Together, we shall achieve our goals and defeat our now shared Enemy for the sake of peace and justice.” “Yeah!” said the Sailor Guardians determinedly. À Suivre > Act 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Enemy - Dark Kingdom The meeting between Princess Luna – with Yelan – and Sailor Guardians continues. Luna (cat) asked out of curiosity, "How did you know that Usagi was Sailor Moon at the Masquerade? The Sailor Guardians have a strong perception-blocking enchantment upon them." "I do not know, Lady Luna," spoke Princess Luna. "It may be because we are connected to the same source of magic, the moon." The feline nodded. "Yes, that sounds likely." "Aw," whined Usagi childishly. "I thought it was because we're such good friends." Luna (pony) continued speaking, "Though, she was the only one that night We recognized. We could not identify young Ami that night." "Well, that's good then," Luna (cat) stated relievedly. "It would be dangerous if the Enemy learned of the Sailor Guardians' identities." The princess nodded. "Agreed." "Who is our enemy exactly?" Ami asks inquisitively. "Those four stallions from yesterday mentioned something about a 'Dark Kingdom.'" "And a queen," added Rei. Yelan answered, "We are not entirely sure ourselves, but we do understand that they are currently in an alliance with another group." "The Changelings," Princess Luna stated grimly. Luna (cat) asked immediately, "What is that?" "They are vicious creatures that feed off the energy of other creatures like parasites. Their natural ability to take on the form of any creature can cause great mistrust and chaos. They were quite the problem back in my time, but it seems they have since faded from public memory." Usagi became a bit frightened by the description. "They sound scary." "They can be, which why it is all the more important we share as much as we can with each other," Luna (pony) stated assuredly. "While these creatures can take on our appearance, they do not have the power to mimic memories." Makoto asked, "How do you know about these guys if they can disguise themselves." "Because we discovered one after the incident at the Marvelous Mustering Masquerade." Usagi, Ami, and Rei all gasped in realization. "The pony that looked like Miss. Li," said Ami. Yelan nodded. "After you all left, we did a search of the grounds. We found it immediately and took it captive." "Discovering the creature led to a search of the city to identify any more of its kind," spoke Flash. "Princess Luna took charge of locating them." "Is that why Usagi and the others hadn't seen her in a while?" asked Makoto. The princess nodded. "That was what We had been doing up until two days ago when we returned to Canterlot after hearing of Discord's escape." "Is that what happened to Princess Cadance, too?" asked Ami. "I noticed she wasn't here to be a part of this." Luna answered, "Princess Cadance is with her beloved taking sabbatical within the city. The events in Canterlot were quite dramatic for Sir Shining Armor." The explanation instantly smote Usagi. "That's so romantic," she stated fondly. Then, Yelan pulled out two pictures and laid them on the table for the young mares to see. In one photo, there was a grey stallion in a tuxedo, cape, and mask. He appeared to be running away. The other picture had a mare on it, who looked similar to Usagi. She wore a uniform identical to the Sailor Guardians only orange with a beaded belt around her waist. The pony was also wearing a red mask. "These pictures are of others who seem to be accomplishing the same tasks as your group," stated Yelan. "Do you know them?" Usagi nodded fervently. "That's Sailor V," she pointed to the female picture. She then looked to the next image, "And that's Tuxedo Mask." "Wait," Makoto said suddenly. "Sailor V is real?!" Yelan nodded. "She has been doing a lot in the north part of the city but has since gone quiet. Ever since Sailor Moon arrived, actually." "Who is this Tuxedo Mask pony, though?" asked Princess Luna. "He often appears around you, from what the Li family has gathered." Ami answered, "All we really know is that he's after the Silver Crystal too." "I don't trust him," Rei stated with contempt. "He only ever appears when it's convenient." Usagi, however, was staring at the photo longingly and smiling. "But he's always so kind and helpful," she said dreamingly. The discussion soon ended. For now, Princess Luna agreed with Luna that Tuxedo Mask was someone to be suspicious of. Today's meeting was declared a success and formally concluded at the request of Yelan, taking into account that tomorrow was a school day. The Sailor Guardians gave their gratitude to their host and were soon on their way back home. After saying goodbye, the mares left with Usagi waving to Princess Luna one last time. Though the group of heroes was gone, Luna (cat) was still with the princess. She wanted to speak with the princess alone. "I know we didn't get off on the right paw," Luna (cat) spoke with sincerity. "But I'm actually glad that I could meet you, princess." "Why is that?" asked Luna (pony). Luna (cat) began to smile. "When I was found by Queen Serenity, she wanted to give me a name. She said I reminded her of a dear friend that she could no longer see anymore, and now, I realize that I was named after you." The Alicorn princess stared down at the cat in amazement. It never crossed her mind why they shared the same name, but it all made sense now. Her friend's gesture touched her even after all she had done. She began to smile unintentionally as her heart became a flutter with emotions. "Serenity," Luna (pony) said warmly. "She would do something like that." The feline then stepped closer to the pony, looking slightly anxious. "If I may ask, why is it that you disappeared in the first place." All of Princess Luna's happy emotions immediately disappeared. She became solemn as she answered the cat's question. "It doesn't matter. I am here now, and I will correct the mistakes made in the past." "Take this, Queen Beryl." In the chambers of Queen Metelia, the specter was meeting with Beryl. She was forming an orb from her own energies. Once it was completed, the gaseous being floated the ball to her subordinate. The evil mare took the item within her magic aura, staring at it for a moment. "I will not fail you, my queen," Beryl stated devotedly. Metelia warned, "For your sake, I hope not." Beryl understood clearly. She immediately left the chamber and made her way back to the throne room. To her surprise, she found Chrysalis waiting for her with many of her subjects behind her. The Changelings were snarling and hissing, looking ready for a fight. The unicorn was surprised but not entirely. She was, however, annoyed with the display. "So," spoke Beryl, "you think you can turn on me now?" Chrysalis spoke angrily, "I've had enough with this alliance of ours. You no longer have the power to keep us in check. Now, we will capture you, and the city of La Luna will be our feast." "And do you think you can defeat the Sailor Guardians and their allies?" Beryl asked shrewdly. "They will be expecting you, seeing how you too loss one of your subjects." "It won't matter, Beryl," stated Chrysalis assuredly. "Our numbers will overwhelm them." Smirking sinisterly, the unicorn replied, "Just like you believe you can overpower me?" Immediately, Beryl began displaying her magic power. It shook the entire castle violently, throwing the regular Changelings off their balance. Many of them were frightened as well and took off to hide. The power emanating from the pony was even destroying the space around her. Stone was beginning to crumble and crack. Chrysalis became noticeably nervous, realizing the error she made in her decision. Beryl would have liked nothing more than to destroy these bugs, but she knew better. She ceased her display of power and reprimanded her tenuous ally. "Know this, Chrysalis. You and your minions are here by the good graces of my master. She still needs more energy, and you and your people will continue gathering as much or face destruction. Are we clear?" Though still visibly stunned, Chrysalis was able to give a curt nod. "C-Crystal." "Excellent," said Beryl contently. "Now then, Chrysalis, I require your assistance for my next plan." The next day, Princess Luna came to school, fulfilling her promise to Usagi. The young mare was ecstatic to see her friend, and the other Sailor Guardians – only Ami and Makoto – were glad to see the princess keeping her pledge. Much of the day went like nothing changed, going through the usual routine that the group experienced before. At the end of the school day, however, there came a change offered by Usagi. "Do you want to come to the arcade with us, Luna?" Not knowing what an 'arcade' was, Princess Luna was initially going to decline. It was then that Ami informed her that the place was also their headquarters; thus, allowing Luna to reconsider and accept. She told Flash Sentry of her change in schedule, which made the Pegasus surprisingly giddy. "Do you mind if I come with you guys?" asked the Royal Guard-in-disguise. "I haven't been to an arcade since I joined the guard." No one had any qualms against bringing the guard pony; in fact, both Usagi and Makoto insisted he joined them. Of course, it was because they were both fawning over the attractive stallion. The group together made their way to the arcade, Game Center Crown. It was a whole floor dedicated to machines that played one game each for a minimal price. Here they met Rei, who attended another school, and they all together went inside. Usagi was quick to show Luna her favorite game while everyone else began to meander around the floor. In doing so, they meet an unexpected couple. Flash spoke in surprise, "Captain?" The Pegasus and the girls were shocked to find none other than the royal couple, Princess Cadance and Captain Shining Armor. The two, however, did not look the same as seen before. Both looked surprisingly mild-mannered, wearing business suits that were plain and uninspiring. They both were also wearing glasses; Shining Armor's being black and square, and Cadance's were large and round. Even their manes were styled differently than usual, slicked back for Shining and in a bun for Cadance. It was all the more surprising seeing them both playing an arcade came The complete opposite of their public image. "Oh, hey Flash," greeted Shining Armor. Before anyone could reply, the video game Shining Armor was playing made a sound and began flashing. The stallion at the screen and his jaw dropped. "I lost?" he said. His opponent, Cadance, began smirking. "What was it that you told me? You gotta 'get your game on,' wasn't it?" she said teasingly. While Shining Armor stood frozen in shock and pride, both Usagi and Luna joined the others. They, too, were surprised to see the royal couple her, but Usagi was now giddy to meet Princess Cadance in person. She was quickly joined by the other Sailor Guardians. All of them were excited and eager to engage such public figures. "Why are you here?" asked Ami curiously. "Did you know about our secret base here?" Cadance answered, "Actually, my future-husband here found this place on a brochure and wanted to play since it had been 'forever' since he last played at an arcade." "O-Oh," Ami said, surprised. Makoto then immediately cut into the conversation. "Wait, you said 'future-husband?'" she asked hopefully. Nodding happily, Cadance pulled her lover close to her and told the group, "Shining Armor proposed to me yesterday night." The Sailor Guardians began squealing with delight. So much so that they nearly rupture a few eardrums. They were all happy to hear such grand news. Princess Luna approached the couple. "Congratulations. May your coupling sire many strong heirs," she said naturally. While the phrase was a bit awkward, the couple, and the group, understood that it was a well-meaning gesture. It was then time to see the base of the Sailor Guardians. The royal couple and Flash Sentry remained in the arcade, feeling no need to join the group. Entering through one of the games, the Sailor V game, the girls led Luna down below the building much to her surprise. It was only a moment of stepping down until the group reached the main chamber. Luna was stunned to see how modern and futuristic the room appeared. She had never seen anything like it. Sitting at the control console, Luna (cat) turned to greet everyone. "Welcome back, everyone. And welcome to Lunar Command, Princess Luna." "Amazing," said Princess Luna. Usagi giggled. "I know, right? It's really cool what Luna and Ami can do here." Before anything more could happen, the screens went red and began flashing a warning sign. Red lights soon activated as well as coloring the room as such. Luna (cat) quickly returned to the console and pressing several buttons. "There's trouble," Luna (cat) shouted quickly. "Looks like the enemy is attacking." Usagi nodded determinedly. "Alright, girls. Let's do this!" The other Sailor Guardians nodded back. Each of them pulled out a pen with Usagi placing her hooves over her brooch. Luna watched on with intrigue. "Moon Prism Power," announced Usagi confidently. "Make up!" À Suivre > Act 8 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nightmare Within the city, at one of its many shopping areas, the ponies, once enjoying themselves, suddenly found themselves weak. Many began to faint as even the electrical power to fade as well. No one knew what was happening to everyone, and before long, no pony was conscious to discover it. Of course, the ones causing this was Queen Beryl. She stood atop a low building gazing upon her handy work with a cruel smile. The orb in her staff was glowing as it sucked in the energy from the bystanders. She appeared alone for the moment, which did not bother her. It was precisely how she wanted herself to look. "Up there!" A shout brought Beryl's attention elsewhere. She looked over to see four mares enter the area. They all wore similar uniforms with different colors. It was evident to the evil unicorn who these ponies were, which made her smirk sinisterly. "Who is that?" asked Sailor Mars cautiously. Beryl introduced herself flashily, "Greetings, Sailor Guardians. I am Queen Beryl, leader of the Dark Kingdom. Prepare to finally meet your end!" "The leader?" repeated Sailor Mercury alarmedly. "Queen Beryl?" repeated Sailor Moon. Wasting no time, Beryl began her attack. She raised her hoof and formed an orb of dark magical energy. "Face my power!" she shouted, commencing to rain down several smaller spheres upon the area. "Everyone!" spoke Sailor Moon quickly. "Protect the citizens!" Without a moment's hesitation, the mares leaped into action. They each used their attacks to counter the incoming balls. Fire, water, and lightning flashed out taking several out at a time. In using her wand, the Moon Stick, Sailor Moon's own attack, Moon Healing Escalation, purified the energies, and it all returned to the bystanders. A few managed to damage some of the property around, but no one was hurt. The effort made them winded, but they could still stand against the evil mare. Yet, Beryl began to laugh. "Do you think you foolish mares can keep defending these innocent bystanders forever?" she said mockingly. Sailor Moon replied definitely, "We'll do so for as long as we can!" Beryl then smirked. "Or until your ally gets into position," she said knowingly. On the other side of the building, Princess Luna stood with her scythe in waiting. Having her presence noticed did nothing to deter her from her next move. She began galloping forward with her weapon prepared to strike. It took only a moment for her to be within the range of her target, and she started her attack. "Death Scythe Baku," Luna said as she swung. "Devour—!" Just when Luna's blade nearly upon her opponent, a pair of black short swords blocked her attack. The Alicorn was surprised and immediately backed away. Now between her and Beryl, Luna saw another pony was protecting her enemy. The pony, a mare, appeared like a ninja wearing mostly black with some dark green garments around the waist and covering the mouth. Her glowing horn covered in toxic green magical aura showed revealed her black coloring, and also damaged despite working correctly. It made Luna suspicious. "Greetings, Princess Luna," spoke Beryl as she turned to the Alicorn. "What an honor it is to meet one of the royal family members." Remaining on guard, Luna replied, "Shame the same cannot be said for you, villain." "I'm surprised you aren't more majestic as your sister," Beryl stated mockingly. "But, I guess that's to be expected when one hides in another's shadow." Luna growled at the comment, and her anger got the better of her hits. She recklessly charged at the two ponies, not caring she was outmatched. The first swing she made was dodged by the ninja pony and, thus, left her true target open for attack. Luna was going for her next slash, paying no mind to the calmness of her opponent. Just before she could reap the evil pony's magic, the Alicorn felt something collide with her side and hitting her away from Beryl. The princess landed with a skid but recovered quickly enough, but her weapon was lost in the process. It was not deter her as she could use her magic. The only thing stopping her was the twisted smile on Beryl's face, making her worry. "Now, arise…!" Beryl shouted. In a split second, Luna realized that there was something on her. She looked to her side and found a black ball attached to her. It was no ordinary sphere as she could sense malicious magic emanating from it. "Nightmare Moon!" finished Beryl zealously. All Luna could do, in a single moment, was widened her eyes in shock. At the same time, Sailor Moon and her group arrived at the top of the building. "Luna!" shouted the leader of the Sailor Guardians worriedly. It was too late. The sphere on Princess Luna expanded and engulfed the small Alicorn. The orb then began to glow a fiery red as a gale swept around it. From the ball, Luna's screams started echoing out filled with pain and resistance. Sailor Moon tried to approach, but upon touching, a burst of magical energy repelled her. The other Sailor Guardians immediately launched out attacks, attempting to break it. Nothing they did accomplish the task, leaving the group confounded on what to do next. The globe soon fell silent as it changed to black. It was only a moment later that the blackness became like a purple and ethereal. The sphere soon unwrapped itself as it revealed a new pony within its center whose mane and tail were made up of the outer shell. A pony of pure black coat like a clouded night, razor-sharp teeth like a vicious creature, and a piercing gaze with nothing but ill-intentions behind them. The newly formed pony, an Alicorn, soon began laughing maliciously as they stepped forth into the light. "We are born again!" shouted the Alicorn triumphantly. "Long live Nightmare Moon!" "Night-" "…mare…" "Moon!" said Sailors Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter, each in utter shock. Sailor Moon, however, was baffled by the appearance. "Luna?" Upon hearing the name, Nightmare Moon's mood turned sour. She immediately glared at the mare, frightening her a little, before snarling with displeasure. "Fool! You dare think We are that pathetic princess? We are the true ruler of the moon, the night, Equestria, and the world!" Beryl seemed surprised by the statement. "No! You're supposed to be working with the Dark Kingdom!" she shouted demandingly. Nightmare Moon growled as she turned her attention to the unicorn. "You dare think We would side with a pathetic group like yours? Ha! You truly are naïve for all will be ruled by We, Nightmare Moon!" The evil Alicorn then took flight. Nightmare Moon hovered over the area as her horn began to glow. She launched out a beam of magic aimed at Beryl, but the equally evil unicorn protected herself with a barrier. The flying pony ceased her assault on Beryl but now directed another blast at the Sailor Guardians. The girls quickly dodged the strike and continued so as Nightmare Moon attempted to move the stream of destructive energy to hit them. Beryl soon went on the attack herself as she tried to take down the Alicorn. In response, Nightmare Moon again attacked the unicorn, which gave the Sailor Guardians time to regroup and take cover behind the entrance into the building. "What is going on here?" asked Sailor Mars as she peered around the corner cautiously. "What happened to the princess?" "Is she really Nightmare Moon?" Sailor Jupiter said worriedly. "I thought the Elements of Harmony destroyed her?" Sailor Moon looked at her friends, confused. "What do you mean?" she asked. Sailor Mercury replied, "Don't you remember when it was night for nearly a day?" The leader of the Sailor Guardians attempted to recall the day in question. In her memories, thinking back to months ago, she remembered her alarm sounding off. The mare then used her hoof to turn it off before drowsily slipping off her bed. As she began to move about, she noticed that her room, usually lit up with the morning sun's rays, was still dark. She thus looked outside, only to see that it was night. "Stupid alarm," mumbled the sleepy and annoyed Usagi. "It's still nighttime…" Blissfully unaware of the events transpiring in Equestria, Usagi immediately returned to her bed to continue sleeping peacefully. And now, returning to her present… "Nope." Sailor Moon stated unashamedly. All her friends, of course, could not believe how air-headed their friend was at times. "But," continued Sailor Mars looking troubled, "I can't believe that Princess Luna is Nightmare Moon." Sailor Jupiter then had a thought that she shared aloud, "Do you think that's why she wants the Silver Crystal; to become Nightmare Moon again and take over the world?" "No/No!" Sailor Moon's shout was mixed with another coming from the group's communication devices. Everyone noticed this and began speaking into it. "Luna?" questioned Sailor Mercury. "Actually, that was Princess Cadance," replied the feline. "She, along with Shining Armor and Flash Sentry, are here at Moon Command once I told them about your situation." Princess Cadance spoke now, sounding desperate. "Please! Luna deeply regrets what she has done in the past. Her goal was only to have the Silver Crystal return her back to the Alicorn she once was before her change." "But then," spoke Sailor Jupiter, confused. "How is she Nightmare Moon now?" "I don't know, but please, don't think Luna was always planning this. She hates herself so much for her actions. She's been tortured for many nights by it in her dreams, the one thing she normally has control over. She is trying her best to atone, but she believes that only the Silver Crystal can truly help her accomplish it." Though the other Sailor Guardians were unsure, Sailor Moon looked determined. "Don't worry, Princess Cadance. Luna's our friend, we're not going to let the Enemy take away all her hard work." The other Sailor Guardians were surprised by their leader's declaration. Before any of them could even speak, Cadance was already responding joyfully. "Thank you, Sailor Moon. You have been such a good friend to Luna." Sailor Moon smiled and let out a tee-hee and smile, slightly embarrassed by the compliment. Her friends, despite their own misgivings, realized there was no sense in debating over what to do. They would just have to have faith in their leader. "The boys here and I will be heading to your position soon. Try to keep Nightmare Moon there until we arrive to help capture her." "Right!" said Sailor Moon. She then spoke to her team, "All right, girls. Let's save Luna!" "How do you plan on doing that?" asked Sailor Mars. It took her a moment, but the Earth pony mare had an idea finally. "I'll use Moon Healing Escalation, its helped heal ponies before." Sailor Mars nodded. "Then, we'll distract Queen Beryl," she said determinedly. The Sailor Guardians were in agreement, and immediately they went into action. Sailors Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter went straight for Beryl while Sailor Moon moved towards Nightmare Moon. The ninja pony reappeared as the mares approached the evil queen cutting them off from a direct attack. Sailor Mars took charge of keeping the pony occupied, using her fire attacks to keep her opponent at bay. The remaining two went for Beryl, who was defending against an attack from Nightmare Moon. Their opponent noticed them and dispelled her own opponent's attack. She then immediately turned to face the incoming mares. Both Sailors Mercury and Jupiter stopped and fired their attacks off. Beryl threw up her shield again, and the two Guardians' attacks were stopped. Watching this, Nightmare Moon felt pleased to be able to take out all her enemies in one shot. She was about to prepare her deadly strike when someone called out. "Luna!" Annoyed, Nightmare Moon looked over to see Sailor Moon. She glared at the unafraid filly feeling disrespected by the name the pony used. "You dare call us by that name again? Your insolence shall be punished!" Building up her magic to the tip of her horn, the evil Alicorn launched a blast of energy down at Sailor Moon. The leader of the Sailor Guardians was unprepared for the attack. She was helpless to think of a way out before the attack. Then, before the power could hit her, a rose shot forth between Sailor Moon and the beam. The flower took on the full force of the blast and immediately deflected it away into the sky and dying out along with the plant. Sailor Moon and Nightmare Moon witnessed the action and were stunned by it. A voice then spoke out. "Now, Sailor Moon!" a male voice shouted from behind. Sailor Moon looked back to see a grey, Earth pony stallion wearing a black tuxedo with a cape, a top hat, and a white mask. She instantly recognized the pony. "Tuxedo Mask?" "Hurry," shouted Tuxedo Mask quickly. "Use your power to help your friend!" Understanding, Sailor Moon regained her composure. She held out the Moon Stick before her and aimed it at Nightmare Moon. "Moon Healing…" Enraged, Nightmare Moon shouted, "Die, fool!" She then fired another blast of magic towards the mare. "Escalation!" At the same time, Sailor Moon launched her attack. A white beam of energy met the dark energy, and the two attacks struggled to overcome the other. It was a shock to Nightmare Moon, who believed herself absolutely superior. She forced more magic into her technique, which helped push back the white energy. Sailor Moon was now struggling to keep her power going, and she was beginning to falter. She was already on her first knee. During their fights, the other Sailor Guardians witnessed this and were upset. "Sailor Moon!" they shouted together. The dark magic was gaining more ground and inching closer to hitting Sailor Moon. She was becoming too exhausted to resist much longer. Before the mare could give up, a hoof placed upon her shoulder startled her. She looked to see that it was Tuxedo Mask, unwaveringly behind her. "You are stronger than you realize, bunhead," said Tuxedo Mask gently – and teasingly – yet confidently. Filled with newfound energy, Sailor Moon stood back up and screamed with all her might. Not screaming but putting all her willpower into her attack. The magic power from wand surged and tripled in power that pushed Nightmare Moon's magic back. As Sailor Moon pushed herself, the forehead jewel in her tiara began to crack. Astounded, Nightmare Moon doubled-down on her effort. "You cannot save her, little pony! She is me!" the evil Alicorn shouted in an attempt to weaken her opponent's resolve. She also poured more of her magic into her spell, which helped stop the opposing attack midway. "You're wrong!" shouted Sailor Moon as more energy surged from her. "She's my friend, Luna!" "No!" Beryl shouted desperately. "Go, Sailor Moon!" shouted the Sailor Guardians together. Tuxedo Mask shouted as well, "You can do this!" Sailor Moon was not going to back down: not now. "Bring Her Back Now!" The jewel broke utterly, and Sailor Moon's forehead began to glow. Hidden power boosted the Sailor Guardian's attack tenfold. Her magical blast overpowered her opponent's and continued hurdling straight for its intended target. Nightmare Moon could only shriek as she surrounded herself with a barrier for the incoming magic. The opposing magic hit and enwrapped the shield and evil mare. It all then descended onto the building and crashed between everyone. Hopeful, Sailor Moon wanted to see her friend return, and evil vanquished. Her vision, though, began to blur, and the scene started going catawampus. She had used up nearly all her energy to fight for Luna's return, and now, she was slipping into unconsciousness. Tuxedo Mask immediately caught Sailor Moon before she could hit the floor. He held the mare up and quickly inspected her condition. It revealed that the Earth pony was only exhausted, having exerted more energy than realized. She would be fine with some rest at a safe place. The stallion would do that, but first, he had to witness the fate of Nightmare Moon. The white orb containing Nightmare Moon soon ceased its lustrous shine. It soon became black. A skeletal pony shape began to stretch the black mass like rubber. A ghastly moan echoed from the figure as it crept slowly across the roof. The other Sailor Guardians were frightened and stepped back every time the creature moved forward. Every step it took, the blackness around began to melt around it, revealing it as nearly a skeleton of an Alicorn. It was horrifying, but as it progressed, it started leaving something behind. Unlike itself, it was leaving behind something fully living. The creature soon moved far enough away to uncover whoever was underneath it: an unconscious blue Alicorn. "It's Luna!" shouted Sailor Mercury in joy. Immediately, the Sailor Guardians went to Luna's side. They avoided the creature continuing its way forward. Together, they positioned themselves around their unconscious friend and readied in case of another attack. As for Beryl, she was gazing at the creature as it wobbled over to her. The sight was gruesome but also disappointing. She expected the revival of Nightmare Moon to be her ace, but the Alicorn ended up turning on her. Now, the evil unicorn could only watch as the old tyrant slowly died. "M-…," the abomination spoke softly, surprising Beryl. It continued its attempt as it tried to give voice to its thoughts. "M-… M-… Metelia." Beryl's breath hitched upon recognizing the name. She immediately erected a barrier around the failing creature. The orb then floated over to her and she called out for someone. "We're leaving, Chrysalis." The ninja pony appeared next to Beryl immediately. The look of indifference shown through eyes. "Whatever," she said back. Using her staff, Beryl soon opened a portal behind them. Chrysalis was the first to enter through soon, followed by the sphere. Beryl took her time and made her way through, but stopped midway to glare back at the Sailor Guardians. Before closing the entranceway, she left the group with one final word. "This isn't over." Their enemies were now gone, the Sailor Guardians could relax a bit. Sailor Mercury quickly checked over Luna's condition, which was physically okay. It was a relief for the group, and they wanted to inform their leader immediately. There was only one problem with that. "Where's Sailor Moon?" asked Sailor Jupiter. À Suivre > Act 9 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deep in the sanctuary of the dilapidated castle, Queen Beryl stood in the room of her master as she oversaw the work being done. Queen Metalia was focusing much of her energy into the orb that contained the creature that is Nightmare Moon. She appeared much better than last seen as her features began to return to normal. It was a slow process, but progress was happening. While both Beryl and Metalia were distracted, much was happening in the rest of the castle. The Changelings were moving out in droves and leaving the castle as the morning sun rose. Chrysalis stood on a rock outcrop overseeing this mass exodus. She glanced back at the castle before scoffing with disdain. The changeling queen, with great reluctance, followed with her subjects towards their new destination: La Luna. The morning’s light slipped through the curtains to brighten up the room delicately. Its illumination shined on the sleeping Usagi upon a large bed. Her transformation as Sailor Moon long since worn off due to her current state. She was having a romantic dream where a handsome prince was attending his hoof towards her: his princess. It was unfortunate then that the sunshine had to stir the mare from her sleep. She slowly awoke with little realization of her surroundings. As the Earth pony rubbed the sleep from her eyes, though, she immediately took notice of this fact. Her first thought was to try and remember what happened before she lost consciousness. Something was coming to her, but it was soon forgotten as the door to the room open. She gasped as she watched a pony enter the room. “Ah, I see you’re awake,” spoke a grey stallion. Usagi recognized the pony instantly. “You…?” The Earth pony smiled. “Breakfast is ready should you want it,” he said courteously before leaving. Usagi soon got out of the bed and followed after the stallion. She opened the door and discovered herself to be in an apartment, both spacious and cozy. Across from her, she saw the pony, Mamoru, preparing two plates with a meal of pancakes and fruit. The young mare was amazed by where she was standing. There was still some confusion, however. Usagi could not figure out how she came to be here. She had never come over to Mamoru’s house before now. Mamoru, in noticing the mare’s entrance, soon greeted her. “Welcome to my home,” he carried over the plates to the table. “How did I…?” asked Usagi, significantly confused. Unwearyingly, the stallion responded, “You don’t remember?” As she looked around the apartment, Usagi saw some clothes draped on the couch that she soon realized a new revelation. She then looked at Mamoru in realization, her heart beginning to beat hard with emotion. “You used all your power last night, and you freed your friend.” Usagi walked over to the couch. She picked up one of the items: a white mask. “Are you…Tuxedo Mask?” she asked. Mamoru’s response was only a knowing smile. So mesmerized by her discovery, Usagi approached the stallion with the mask in hoof. Once she was close to Mamoru, who held no qualm over her action, the mare held up the costume piece to his face. It was now so apparent to her as the features she recalled dearly matched precisely. The fact made her heart flutter and become light as air. It was all so shocking. “Why are you Tuxedo Mask?” Usagi asked anxiously. “Why are you doing all this?” The stallion now smirked and took the mask from the mare before stepping back. “I have to do it,” the Earth pony said confidently, holding the item up to his face playfully. “If I ever want to recover my lost memories, I must use the power of the Silver Crystal to unlock them.” “You’re…memories?” spoke Usagi amazedly. A tale was told by Mamoru. He was once just like any other pony living in Equestria with his two loving parents. One day, the family went out on a carriage ride to the countryside. It was all enjoyable and fun until they were attacked by a Manticore. The carriage’s driver tried to lose the beast and, in doing so, threw them all off a cliffside. The wreck was discovered shortly after, with Mamoru being the only survivor. Worst of all, the young colt had lost important memories and left him amnesic. There was only one thing he could remember, though vague and confusing. A phrase, “Find… the Silver Crystal… waiting…” spoken by a mare so beautiful like a full moon on the clear starry night. His life would become challenging for many years until recent events made him to dawn the costume of “Tuxedo Mask” to search for any clues. “And then, you appeared, Sailor Moon,” Mamoru said curiously, moving closer to the young mare. He was gentle and respectful as he then asked her a question. “Why do you want the Silver Crystal?” “Well, uh,” Usagi was unprepared to answer as many emotions and thoughts swirled within her mind. She tried her best to explain from what she recalled, “Luna (cat) only told me to find it and protect it.” Mamoru appeared disappointed in the answer. “…I see.” “But Princess Luna,” spoke Usagi quickly. “She wants to use it to fix herself. Just like you.” The stallion seemed intrigued now. “Is that so,” Mamoru answered thoughtfully. “I know that…” Usagi paused for a moment as she realized the confusion in naming, “…our advisor said not to trust you, but I feel like I can trust you.” “Oh?” “We should work together,” Usagi recommended powerfully. “That way, everyone can get what they want.” “How do you know you can trust me?” asked Mamoru practically. “Because I can feel that you’re a good pony.” The male Earth pony chuckled. “Sometimes, I wonder if I really am,” he stated softly. Usagi wanted to encourage the stallion more, but Mamoru suddenly handed her school saddle to her. “I think its time you returned to your friends, Usagi. I’m sure they’re worried for you,” he advised facetiously. Though she wanted to speak some more, Usagi did realize that her friends probably did not know her location. She was also worried about Luna despite what Mamoru said earlier. The accepted the bag, and the stallion showed her out. Both, though departing, stared almost longingly at the other for a moment before Mamoru closed the door. Usagi continued looking at the door for a moment longer until she finally began to head for the elevator or stairs. She was hoping the stallion would have a change of mind before she left. At the same time, Mamoru was leaning against the door, looking almost exhausted. He was conflicted with several thoughts and feelings. Everything the young mare told him was optimistically naïve, and yet, he could not help but feel moved by all she said. “Is there another way…?” From Mamoru’s apartment, Usagi traveled through the city on her own. She immediately gave Luna (cat) a call through her brooch once outside. The feline was absolutely relieved to finally hear from the Sailor Guardian and advised her to head to school to keep up appearances. Given guided directions, the airheaded mare eventually reached the building just a little after the first bell rang. Ami and Makoto soon meet with the Earth pony, expressing how relieved they were that she was okay. Usagi was happy that they were okay as well, but she soon noticed someone was missing. “Where’s Princess Luna?” Neither Ami nor Makoto could answer, so they all went to search for the one pony they could ask. They were lucky to find the pony doing his job as a sanitation worker as he cleaned the floors. “Princess Luna?’ repeated Flash Sentry before frowning. “She’s been in serious depression since she woke up.” “Oh no!” said Usagi worriedly. “It’s pretty bad. Nothing Cadance has tried is really helping her…” Upon saying that, however, Flash Sentry soon made a realization. “But, Ms. Usagi, maybe you can help.” Instantly, Usagi nodded with determination. “I want to try,” she stated. After school, Flash Sentry guided the girls to the Li residence. Along the way, Rei and Luna (cat) joined them after being informed of the situation. They were greeted by Yelan, who, of course, allowed them into her home once Flash explained why he brought them. Not long after did the group meet with Cadance. She had nearly run out of options until she saw Usagi, which gave her new hope in dealing with the situation. Cadance told Usagi as they approached Princess Luna’s room, “She always seems to be in a better mood when you’re around, Usagi. You may be our last hope.” At the door, the princess had to force it open with her magic. She then calmly gestured for the mare to go inside the pitch-black room. “Try your best,” she said hopefully. Usagi nodded and bravely went in. The only light came from the opened door allowing the mare just enough sight to look around. While she had never seen Luna’s room before, the Earth pony could tell that it was a mess. The vanity mirror was broken, pillows ripped apart with their feathers everywhere, and there was damage all over from holes in walls to burned furniture. It looked as if it was a warzone. As she scanned, Usagi could not find Luna. She begins to wonder if her friend was even in this room. “Leave us, Princess Cadenza,” came Princess Luna’s voice, sounding blasé. The sudden echo surprised Usagi, but it also helped her locate her doldrum friend. Usagi found the Alicorn just behind her in the furthest corner of the room away from the light. There was enough of a glow, however, that she could see the state of the mare. Her mane was tangled and misplaced with ends poking out in a few directions. The discourse extended to her tail as well, looking similarly like a bottle brush. She even looked slightly injured with some burns and a scrap or two. Her face was entirely in the corner, hiding her misery, which meant she most likely did not who came in. Usagi was heartbroken to see her friend like this; thus, she strengthened her resolve and approached her. “I told you, foul caretaker, We do not—” Before Luna could finish, she was forcefully made to turn around much to her surprise. “…U…Usagi?!” “Luna…” Usagi said sadly. Luna stared at the mare as the light behind her illuminated her being. It was a bewitching sight that reminded the Alicorn of her friend centuries ago. A moment later, though, she returned to her senses and looked away from the young pony. She tried to compose herself as she tried to make her current situation less appalling. “Y-You have returned,” Luna stated grateful though distant. “We feared the worst since you were taken by that miscreant, Tuxedo Mask.” Usagi, despite her own desire, obliged the princess her act. “Yeah, he took me to his place, and I asked him if he could join together with us,” she said. The Alicorn feigned interest. “That is…very good of you, Usagi. They say ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend.’ Perhaps now, we may be able to find…” “Luna,” said Usagi, interrupting vehemently. “Why are you acting this way?” Instantly, Princess Luna went silent. It remained so between the two mares for a moment before the Alicorn finally spoke. “Do you not hate me?” she asked as barely a whisper. “Hmm?” the Earth pony responded, unable to hear. To the mare’s surprise, Luna soon turned entirely around. She was then shocked to see her friend crying and appearing in distress. “How can you come and see us?” she asked much louder this time. “We became Nightmare Moon! Again! And We attacked you and your friends just like We attacked our sister all those centuries ago! The Elements of Harmony didn’t get rid of her because she is me! We should have known better! Fate deems it that We are nothing more than a host for evil! How could any-pony—” Luna was soon cut-off as Usagi enwrapped her in a tight hug. The Alicorn was confused at first and wanted to dissuade the pony from doing such for someone like herself. A gentle yet powerful sensation soon overcame her being, making her even more confused. It felt familiar and accepting, like when her kin hugged her months ago. Her mind could not fathom how the mare was able to recreate such a similar feeling. Before she could say anything, however, she soon heard sniffling and even felt some moisture on her body. Luna quickly realized that Usagi was crying now. “You’re not bad, Luna,” Usagi said woefully. “You are my friend and someone I know who could never be truly evil.” “Usagi…” The younger mare continued, “I don’t care what you did in the past. The Luna I know is always willing to let me take a bite or two from her lunch. Who promised to come to school for me, even though she hates it. And who’s willing to help me and my friends when we’re in trouble. You’re so good that you feel so bad about what happened before. So I can tell you, Luna…” Usagi moved her head to look directly at Luna. Tears were still falling, but she was smiling contently. “That you are a good pony, and my dear friend.” Now, Luna was beginning to shed tears. Not in a long time had any pony said such words to her. The last one, Serenity, had done so much often, and Usagi was very similar to her. It did not matter for she felt that, for the first time since returning, she had found someone outside her family who understood her. A smile began to form, though emotional and trembly. She a bit embarrassed but she was also happy. “Thank you,” Luna said emotionally, “Usagi, my friend.” The two mares spent a little more time together, allowing their emotions to calm down. They left together to find Princess Cadance waiting for them, slightly teary-eyed. Heading down to the others, relief was shared among the group that Princess Luna was now okay. Yelan wanted to prepare a feast in honor of the princess’ recovery; however, the sudden barging in of her daughter, Shiefa, so urgently grabbed everyone’s attention. “Mom! Princesses!” the officer mare shouted, “Something is happening!” Sensation - Love À Suivre > Act 10 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fight - Together La Luna was in chaos. Within the city, as evening fell, mass hysteria was sweeping over the public. The ponies were turning against each other, and several were already unconscious. Any pony, with some sense, took off running to get away from the discord. The only ones to remain behind were law enforcement, attempting to control the situation. Unfortunately, they were having a tough time as there was confusion within their own ranks. Nothing about this situation was under control. That was why Shiefa, an officer of the local police, came to her family and allies with this grave news. Typically, this would not be a concern to bring the Li family; yet, a shocking revelation made the mare realize how dangerous the situation was becoming. "I saw ponies sucking out others energies out," stated Shiefa unsettlingly. Princess Luna immediately confirmed, "It's the Changelings. They have decided to be reckless and bold." Immediately, Yelan ordered her family and servants to prepare to fight back the Changeling menace. Yelan then suggested to the Sailor Guardians that they go ahead of them as preparation and mobilization would take time. They agreed and were taking off until Usagi noticed Princess Luna's not following with them. "Unfortunately, We have lost all our magic," Luna stated sadly. "We would only be a hindrance to you all." Usagi attempted to convince her otherwise, "But…" "We'll back you up, Usagi," said Cadance, stepping forward with Flash Sentry and Tau. The Pegasus quickly flashed a grin, "You can count on us!" Tau barked out confidently, implying the same sentiment. "Aww," said the Sailor Guardians together affectionately. Ami then asked, "Is Captain Shining Armor coming too?" "Unfortunately, he went back to Canterlot last night," Cadance stated regrettably. "I wanted him to inform Celestia on what's been going on here." Regardless, the group left to face the enemy with Shiefa giving them an escort. Princess Luna and Yelan saw the group off, wishing them luck in their endeavor. Once the group was gone, Luna turned to Yelan with a grim expression. "While there is not much We can do for them now," the Alicorn stated determinedly. "There is something We can procure for our next move against the Dark Kingdom." Yelan nodded. She then began to lead Princess Luna back into her home. The two of them traversed the hallways steadily. The Li matriarch was sure to oversee her family and servant's preparations while doing so. Luna watched on before realizing that someone was not devotedly approaching their mother to be a part of the situation. When asked about the whereabouts of young Syaoran, Yelan answered with some relief. "I apologize for not saying something sooner, but He is currently dealing with a family matter at the moment," Yelan explained. "Wei and Meiling have gone with him to aide in his task as well." After that explanation, Luna asked no more for it would too much to pry into other's affairs before dealing with your own. The two mares continued through the home until they reached a point that was the furthest away from the entrance. Yelan used her magic to reveal a hidden door that also immediately opened a path for them. They descended the stone stairway unafraid, and magic flames lighted up with every few steps they took. At the bottom, the duo arrived in a large chamber with many empty cells. It appeared to be a holding prison. The mares then approached one of the confinements, both appearing stern and unwavering. Luna spoke sharply, "Its time that we received some important information from you four." In the cell, four ponies sat about wholly confined. They are the Dark Kingdom's Elite Four, kept powerless and detained with extreme caution. All of them glared defiantly at the mares; their resolve would never allow them to betray their leader. "Um, excuse me," spoke another voice a few cells down. A Changeling appeared and waved its holey hoof to grab the mares' attention. "Hi, Thorax here, um, can I please go now?" asked the changeling politely. "I promise not to hurt anyone while I leave the city." The (annoying) changeling completely ruined the gravitas of the situation. It was sometime later when Usagi, her friends, and allies arrived on the scene of the chaos ensuing. Many windows were broken, and a fire had started in a few buildings. It was like a warzone. In the distance, screams and shouts could be heard coming from more ponies in trouble. Usagi and her friends were determined to help them. "Let's go, girls!" Usagi said to her group. As her friends pulled out their pens, the Earth pony then held her hooves over her brooch, "Moon Prism Power…" "Mercury Power…" "Mars Power… "Jupiter Power…" "Make up!" In another moment, the mares were now transformed into the Sailor Guardian uniforms. Seeing it for the first time, Cadance's group was amazed by the performance. The girls then galloped forward to where the trouble was happening. Flash Sentry and Tau followed after the group. Sailor Mercury then stopped as she noticed Cadance remaining behind. "Are you coming with us?" "I'm more a support player," the pink princess said proudly. "I'll cover you guys." "You can trust her," Flash said immediately. "She's one of the best shots in all of Equestria." Cadance then separated from the group, taking flight towards the buildings. Shiefa had to return to the police station before suspicion was raised upon her. Everyone else continued their gallop towards the chaos. The closer they came to the area, the worst everything around began to appear. Screams and shouts once an echoing away was starting to have more volume and pitch. More fires were springing up and brightening the darkening sky above. A pony was soon spotted just off to the side of the road, needing help. Sailor Moon immediately went over to check on the pony out of worry. "You…" spoke the pony as the mare helped him up. "You…have so much energy!" The pony screeched and bore out fangs about to attack Sailor Moon, freaking her out. Immediately, Tau threw a punch past Sailor Moon and hit the pony. As the equine fell over, unconscious, a green flame erupted around him quickly before disappearing and revealing a bug-like pony creature in its place. The group was shocked but for more than one reason. "That's a changeling?" asked Sailor Mars. "Wow!" said Sailor Jupiter, amazedly towards the dugong. "You're tough for a little guy." Flash Sentry grinned and stated proudly, "Never underestimate a Kung-Fu Dugong, especially not our Tau here." Quickly, the group continued further in. More and more ponies were beginning to appear. Some were in panic while others seemed more in a hurry. The group attempted to communicate with any of them for information. Many simply continued running while others spoke incoherently before doing the same. Then, there were the ones that were actually changelings who attacked soon after being asked. While surprising, the changelings' attempts failed as the group was wholly on guard. Unfortunately, as the number of ponies increased, so did the chances of them being changelings; in fact, most of the ponies were turning out to be the creatures. The group was soon surrounded by ponies and unable to tell who was what. None of the girls dared use their attacks in fear that they would hurt an innocent. They would need to figure out something quickly as the crowd began to close in on them. "I know!" shouted Sailor Moon with an idea. She then pulled out the Moon Stick and began to wave it around. "Moon Healing Escalation!" Sailor Moon spun around as he wand began to produce a showering mist of magic energy. The mystical silvery energy washed over the entire crowd. It, at first, appeared ineffective before suddenly nearly every pony erupted in the same green flames as seen before. There now stood the invading army of changelings – with some civilians running away in fright – looking confused and befuddled by their unexpected change. Since the creatures were now distracted, it allowed the group to attack. "Mercury Aqua Mist!" shouted Sailor Mercury as she formed to spheres of water and launched them. Holding up talismans, Sailor Mars threw them at the crowd. "Akuryo Taisan!" she shouted, igniting the areas where the papers fell. For Sailor Jupiter, her tiara extended an antenna, which began to glow with electricity. "Supreme Thunder!" she shouted with a large amount of voltage sent out against her opponents. Flash Sentry was not one to be shown up by the girls' flashy moves. He immediately summoned forth to his hooves, and then, began firing out in rapid succession. "Meteor Flash!" he shouted as he took care of another area of changelings. "Wow!" spoke Sailor Jupiter, surprised to see that their friend was capable of power like them. "I didn't know the Royal Guard could make special moves too." Flash smirked proudly. "Only if you've got the right teacher," he stated. All the attacks made quick work of a majority of the changelings surrounding them. It also, unfortunately, caused the area to be covered in a cloud of dust and smoke. With their sight limited, everyone stood close by each other, making sure to not allow their opponents a chance to trick them. They waited for an attack to come, but all they could see was the glowing blue bug eyes. Everyone remained on guard, but a repetitive clapping soon drew their attention. As the smoke began to dissipate, revealing more changelings in the place of those defeated, a taller and more ponylike changeling began to approach them from the sky. She was the one clapping, looking mildly amused at the display. Queen Chrysalis now graced her foes with her presence and mocked their futile efforts. "We meet again, you goody-two-shoes. Though you've managed to knock out quite a few of my loyal servants, it is all just wasted energy; my army is far too large for you all to handle on your own. It would be wasted energy to us, so why not surrender now and spare yourselves of pointless resistance." "Never!" retorted Sailor Moon heroically. "In the name of the moon, you will be punished." Chrysalis growled before giving out her command. "Attack-!" In a blink, the changeling queen saw something pink heading straight for her. She quickly moved aside as that object shot past her like an arrow. It did manage to strike a changeling below, revealing to be a construct of pink energy that did not damage it but knocked it out completely. "What was that?!" demanded the queen as she searched the skyline. The Sailor Guardians looked to Flash Sentry, who appeared unsurprised unlike themselves. The stallion courteously answered, "That would be Cadance, and her Scared Treasure, Twin Bow Eros." From on high atop a building, Princess Cadance stood with one of her legs extended out. A light, much like the arrow earlier, was extended out vertically from her appendage, looking like a bow. She looked a little disgruntled, having her attack being avoided, but she remained determined. Another light-constructed arrow formed in the bow and began to draw itself as the princess took aim. "Knockout," Cadance said before willfully releasing her attack. From below, Chrysalis saw the attack again but chose to remain firmly in place. She then summoned two short swords and used them to destroy the construct arrow. Eyeing the sky, she did not wait to be interrupted again. "Attack them!" Without hesitation, the changelings charged forward. The Sailor Guardians, Flashy Sentry, and Tau were all prepared to face the army with everything they could throw at them. As the crowd neared the group, a barrage of fire, water, lightning, and air magic attacks rained down upon the enemy. These strikes perfectly protected the group who looked back to see who or what was aiding them. From behind, the Sailor Guardians saw a squadron of unicorns with their horns aglow. They could see Yelan with them, whose horn was doing the same. Around them were the ponies that made up the police force of La Luna with Shiefa. Together, they charged forward against the changelings with a mighty battle cry. The changelings were surprised by the arrival of troops and hesitated from attacking. Ponies met with these bug-like creatures and thrashed them back. The Sailor Guardians immediately joined the fray, launching out their attacks to the enemy of the other side. Aiding the forces of good, Cadance's strikes began to rain down upon the unsuspecting changelings. Among the chaos, Sailor Moon fought bravely. She was doing very well for herself but was unfortunately left open for an attack. One changeling saw this and was about to strike, but his attack was stopped when a rose struck him. Sailor Moon took notice and was surprised until she saw the item. She instantly knew who had helped her. "Is this a private event?" Next to the mare was a grey stallion dressed in a tuxedo standing suave and calm amidst the battle. "Tuxedo Mask!" Sailor Moon said gladly. The stallion smiled. "Perhaps you could use a partner," he said coolly, pulling up a few roses. Sailor Moon nodded happily. "Mmm!" They, together, fought further against the enemy. Watching on, Chrysalis began to grind her fangs. It was clear that her forces had lost the advantage. Her anger was evident; yet, she was remaining calm. She began to scan the battlefield until she stopped on Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask. Her eyes began to glow green as she sensed an intense amount of energy on the two of them. The queen had found her targets and descended down. Interjecting between the two, she spun and slashed at the two Earth ponies. Now that the two youths were separated, Chrysalis moved to attack Sailor Moon. Her skill outdid the mare, and her knives were already threatening to slit her throat. Luna shouted immediately, "Sailor Moon!" Tuxedo Mask stood still instantly. He internally berated himself for not keeping a better eye on Sailor Moon. "You little welp," Chrysalis said bitterly to Sailor Moon. "This job would've been done so much quicker if it weren't for you and your ridiculous cohorts." Sailor Moon could not say a word. She was afraid the blades at her throat would cut through. Her thoughts were drawn to Tuxedo Mask, whom she desperately wanted to rescue her. "But I shall do what Beryl could not; kill Sailor Moon! But not before I devour your energy to become even more—" A cream-colored blur flashed by Chrysalis' sight followed by immediate pain to her leg. "Gah!" When the tall changeling mare screamed out in pain, she also released Sailor Moon from her hold unharmed. Sailor Moon was surprised but, in seeing the blur as well, she looked over to see who had helped her. She was shocked to find that it was a cat almost parallel to Luna. This cat, however, was cream-colored with some brown fur and slightly plumper. It even had the same crescent symbol on the coin situated upon its forehead. Luna herself was also a bit alarmed as she noticed the similarities as well. "Mind if I cut in?" spoke a female voice. A new pony suddenly dropped down between Sailor Moon and Chrysalis. A light orange Earth pony mare in a sailor uniform, just like the Sailor Guardians, only in orange with an added red bead-string belt. Her long blonde mane was tied together in a red bow. She also wore a red mask and had the crescent symbol on her brow, much like Luna – and the new cat – did. Angry now, Chrysalis demanded an answer. "Who are you?!" The pony smiled as she removed her mask before posing. She told the queen, "I am the phantom warrior of justice, the protector of La Luna, and the ally of love. I am…" "Sailor V!" shouted Sailor Moon, absolutely amazed. À Suivre > Act 11 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sailor V - Princess Several ponies soon took notice of the entrance of three newcomers. The Sailor Guardians, of course, recognized Tuxedo Mask with some suspicion, but the shocking appearance of Sailor V was surprising. A figure almost like a legend from a story. The Li family were also amazed to see the mare appear and during their greatest time of need. For Chrysalis, she was unaware of the identity of this new pony but, by the queen’s judgment, she was an ally to Sailor Moon with powers equally as annoying. She realized that this conflict was beginning to turn on her and her subjects. “So, Ms. Changeling,” spoke Sailor V confidently. “You wanna try your skills against me?” It was now that Chrysalis gave a quick glance to the side. In an ally way nearby, the queen took notice of one of her subjects hidden within the shadows. He nodded his head to the changeling leader, which eased her worries. “Retreat!” Chrysalis commanded immediately. “Retreat!” The callout was surprising for Sailor Moon and her group. Upon hearing their leader, the changelings began to fall back either by flying or running away. Chrysalis soon followed as she fluttered away with many of her subjects. All were heading out of the city with haste. La Luna’s forces, of course, heard the call and were invigorated to give chase. Most of the Sailor Guardians were going to join them but were stopped by Cadance, after descending down from her spot. “We’ll take care of the changelings,” the princess told the group securely. “The Li family and I will make sure they can never come back to La Luna, so we’ll need you all to stay and protect it along with the police.” “Okay,” said Sailor Moon. “You can count on us.” Cadance nodded to the mare before turning to Flash Sentry. “Please stay with Princess Luna until we get back,” asked of them. “No prob, Cadance,” said Flash before giving her a confident salute. Not to be left out, Tau hopped over to Cadance's side. He gestured with his flipper clenched and showed his determination to his friend. The young princess smiled before telling him, "Of course. I can't forget my most dedicated knight." To which, Tau replied with an assured yip. Thus, Cadance, Tau, and the Li family forces continued driving the changeling force out of town; meanwhile, the police began to aid the citizens and keep the order. The Sailor Guardians would have helped, but the appearance of Sailor V and her cat drew the group’s attention. While grateful for her arrival, along with Tuxedo Mask’s support, the group did wonder why she only now appeared to help. Sailor V’s explanation shocked the group wholly. “What?!” “You are complete...” Beryl dropped the barrier immediately. The opaque glasslike sphere began to deteriorate from the bottom up, dropping the thing inside. A dust cloud covered the creature before it slowly stood up. Now stood Nightmare Moon, no longer melting or misshapen. She had mostly returned to her former glory, with only the cutie mark now missing. Opening her dark purple eyes, the reformed Alicorn began to check over herself. “At last,” spoke Nightmare Moon astonishingly. “We are our own pony.” The Alicorn then turned around and kneeled. “We can finally serve our true master, Queen Metalia,” she said loyally. The specter smirked. “Yes, you have finally become the pony you were always destined to be. No longer are you a princess but a queen. Queen Nightmare Moon!” “I am honored, my queen,” replied Nightmare Moon appreciatively. Beryl then knelt beside the newly christened queen. “Command us, our queen, and we will accomplish it,” she asked dutifully. “Despite giving me the energy I need to revive Nightmare Moon, the changelings are of no use to use anymore. I can see the city’s forces are sending them further south, and they have abandoned this place. But with Queen Nightmare Moon now at her fullest potential, we have the power to strike back.” Finally, Metalia gave her command with wicked glee. “Destroy Sailor Moon and her friends, and bring me the Silver Crystal!” The two queens said together, “It will be done.” Nightmare Moon then smirked evilly. “And I know where to begin,” she stated. Returning to the Li Household, Princess Luna sat in the garden outside the front gate with a few members of the Li family with her. She was awaiting news of the battle and passing the time by drinking some tea prepared for her. Despite the harrowing situation, the princess was calm in her patience. At the same time, her thoughts drifted to moments of serenity and peacefulness. She was also confident as she knew that Sailor Moon and her friends, along with the unified forces of the city, would be more than enough to fight against changelings. Fear was still partially there as she worried about any sorts of injuries Usagi and her friends could receive. Then, the gates opened, and Princess Luna was on her hooves immediately. The mare could see the first of the group entering, and leading them was Usagi. So elated the princess was that she rushed over to congratulate her and her team. When the Alicorn got closer, however, she soon noticed two more ponies a part of Usagi’s group not there before. A grey, Earth pony stallion, and a light orange Pegasus with a blonde mane with a cat on her back, who looked similar to Luna the cat. The princess stopped and then looked to her comrades with confusion. Usagi excitedly answered her friend’s confusion, “Luna! This is Tuxedo Mask and Sailor V!” Luna was surprised; she had never expected those two vigilantes to appear to help them. “And guess what?” continued Usagi giddily. “Sailor V is the Moon Princess we’ve been looking for!” “Pardon!” Luna said, utterly shocked. The one named ‘Sailor V’ soon stepped forward, in place of Usagi explaining further. She approached Princess Luna and graciously curtsied before the Alicorn. She spoke politely, “Hello, Princess Luna. My name is Minako, but in my past life, I was the daughter of Queen Serenity and the Moon Princess, Serenity.” “And I am Artemis, her aid,” spoke the cream-colored cat, genuflecting. A bit shocked, Luna was not sure how to reply precisely. She had thought the time for her to meet her old friend’s – reincarnated – daughter would come much later. Now though, the princess could not help but feel a little unprepared mentally. The pony before her bore little resemblance to the image of Serenity that Luna knew so well. “Let’s go inside,” spoke Luna (cat). “We should discuss what to do next now that the changelings are dealt with, and the Moon Princess found.” Everyone gathered in the meeting hall like before, now including Flash Sentry, Tau, and Mamoru. Minako began by telling her story of being Sailor V and her fight against an evil force. It started when she met Artemis, and he gave her the transformation pen to fight an unknown evil force. They worked tirelessly to protect La Luna until they discovered a clue in Applewood. When they left, Sailor Moon made her debut, making their trip worry-free. Once they learned all they could and caught wind of the incursion, they returned and helped defend the city with everyone. “So, what did you learn?” asked Ami after the explanation. Solemnly, Minako responded, “The identity of the ones using the changelings and their master…” “You mean this ‘Dark Kingdom’ group,” spoke Princess Luna. Minako nodded. “Queen Beryl is the reincarnation of a pony who led the revolt against the Moon Kingdom." "She was driven by jealousy due to the prominence of the Moon Kingdom compared to her own kingdom. She used evil magic to corrupt her citizens into attacking and sought out the Silver Crystal for herself. Mamoru spoke up immediately, “What about the Silver Crystal? We all have been searching for, but it appears that only you may know where it is.” “I do,” said the Pegasus with a nod. She then added as everyone became excited, “But, I can’t reveal its location just yet. It is safe; however, I’m sure that the Enemy has their sights set on us now, so it must remain a secret.” Makoto then raised her hoof up. “What about our memories from our past lives?” she asked curiously to Minako. Artemis answered for the Pegasus, “They’ll return in time, but slowly as to not overload you.” “Memories?” asked Flash curiously. Luna (cat) now answered, “Yes. Now that our princess has returned, the Sailors’ past memories are returning to them.” Princess Luna was satisfied with the information received; however, there was still a concern left unanswered. She turned to Mamoru as she addressed his presence, “So then, now that young Minako has answered our inquiry, why not be the same. Answer Us why you are here, Sir Tuxedo Mask.” The young stallion was apprehensive about answering at first, but with some encouragement from Usagi, Mamoru explained his situation. “I am trying to recover memories that I have lost, and that they seem to be connected to Princess Serenity and the Silver Crystal.” “That is all?” inquired Luna (cat) with some shock. “Yes.” Usagi immediately began to smile smugly. “Told ya he wasn’t a bad guy,” she stated obnoxiously. The others quickly rolled their eyes disbelievingly. Minako then spoke, “I’m sure we can help with that, but after we defeat the Enemy.” Mamoru nodded. “Sounds fair,” he said. “Yay!” cheered Usagi as she hugged Mamoru and Ami, who was closest. “Now we’re finally working together. Those bad guys don’t stand a chance!” Though bewildered by the action, the whole group was soon laughing along with Usagi. It was, in many ways, a relief that each group – four originally – now had ponies to count on. As the threat remained, everyone together would need to figure out their next move. Then, Luna sensed something suddenly. “Get down!” she shouted urgently. On instinct, Princess Luna jumped over the table and kicked it up, so the top part was now facing sideways. A second later, an explosion erupted and destroyed much of the room. The table could only take so much of the fiery blast but did well enough to leave the entirety of the group mostly okay. Everyone recovered, but there was a ringing in their ears now prevalent. They began to make their way through the newly-made opening, knowing that they needed to see what was happening outside. When the group reached outside, the entire was shocked to find much of their surroundings nearly destroyed. The once beautiful and scenic courtyard was now ruined and smoldering. Much of the walled perimeter was wrecked and crumbling. Walking out further, the group could see that the building itself sustained damage as well. It was fortunate, though, that the surrounding neighborhood was not affected by the attack. Evil laughter soon erupted from above the group. Everyone looked up and was horrified. Above the group were Queen Beryl and Nightmare Moon, floating above them. “So,” Beryl spoke as she looked over the group. “These are the meddlesome ponies who have foiled my plan time and time again.” “It’s Queen Beryl!” shouted Minako. “And that’s…” Princess Luna said utterly befuddled. “Me?” “Nay!” retorted Nightmare Moon. “We are our own pony now! We are now Queen Nightmare Moon, the true ruler of the moon!” Luna (pony) looked visibly confused. “Queen?” “Let us finally be rid of these pests, Queen Nightmare Moon,” announced Beryl quickly. Nightmare Moon agreed wholeheartedly, “Yes, let’s, Queen Beryl.” The two queens’ horns began to glow as they readied their attack. Two beams of magic collide between the mares and start forming into an immense dark sphere. It grew further in the next moment before it finally fired a massive attack at the group of heroes. None of the Sailor Guardians nor Mamoru was prepared to handle the blast. Princess Luna had not yet recover any of her own energy to be able to fight back. It looked to be the end for the group; however, Flash Sentry literally flashed in front of the group with his forelegs extended out to his side. The stallion was glowing with a yellow aura. “Final…” the Pegasus said determinedly before bringing his hooves together, aimed at the incoming blast. “Flash!” A massive energy blast was produced from Flash Sentry’s hooves. It soared through the air and met Beryl and Nightmare Moon’s attack head-on. They collided, and a struggle began between the blasts. Both queens were shocked by the sudden defense. It was the same for the Sailor Guardians, Princess Luna, and Mamoru, as they had not expected similarly. As the two beams attempted to force each other back, Flash soon looked back at the group. “Hurry!” the stallion shouted. “Transform!” The group quickly overcome their shock, and Usagi gave the Royal Guard member a determined nod. “Moon Prism Power… Make Up!” she declared. Together, all the Sailor Guardians, along with Mamoru, began to glow brightly. It nearly blinded Beryl and Nightmare Moon, which helped cease their attack. At the same time, Flash Sentry could no longer keep up his beam attack just as the evil mares stopped theirs. The tired Pegasus immediately descended as the group finished their transformation. He looked back to exhaustively smile towards them before gesturing his hoof upwards at the evildoers. “They’re all yours, guys.” Immediately, the group leaped into action. Flash Sentry retreated back to stand beside Princess Luna, the cats, and Tau, who took up guarding in his place. Princess Luna was impressed with the stallion and gave him her gratitude. “You did well, Sir Flash.” “Indeed,” said Luna (cat). “Thanks,” said Artemis relievedly. Flash replied with a grin and humbling chuckle, “No problem. Though, I think Master Vegeta would be disappointed that I couldn’t take two ponies down with his move.” Princess Luna gave the royal guard a sympathetic pat on the shoulder before observing the battle ahead. Being that there are two enemies, the group split up to take on each. Sailors Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter were handling Nightmare Moon while Sailors Moon and V with Tuxedo Mask challenged Beryl. The groups’ superior numbers helped in combating the two evil mares, especially with how powerful they appeared to be. Beryl, despite just being a unicorn, had power like an Alicorn, a fact that gave an actual Alicorn a tinge of jealously. She desperately wished to have her power back and aide her noble comrades in the fray. Her help could have turned the tide for either fight, especially her weapon, instead of it continuing in a stalemate. That was when an idea came to Princess Luna. “We shall return,” she said quickly to her group before galloping back inside. It was too late for any of them to stop her. Magic blasts from all parties whizzed through the air as they missed or countered one another. Though the battle was in a stalemate, the advantage was quickly growing for Beryl and Nightmare Moon. It took most of the girls fighting the evil Alicorn to combine their attacks to even counter back. The others were having a fairly more even match; Beryl seemed to be holding back partly through her battle with the Sailors and Tuxedo Mask. She was almost worried for some reason. The course of the fight soon shifted as Nightmare Moon knocked back all three of her combatants back in an explosive wave. Now concerned for their friends, the others retreated back to them to check their condition. The group was okay, but now they all had to deal with both evil queens. “It is time to finish this,” Beryl stated as her horn began to glow. Nightmare Moon did the same, and they together reformed their powerful attack from earlier. Sailor Moon knew they had to act quickly. “Hurry!” she said urgently before pushing Sailor V into the others. “Get the princess out of here!” Sailor V was shocked. “No! Wait—” before she could say more, the other Sailor Guardians began to pull her back. Concerned, Sailor Mars asked back, “What about you?” “I’ll figure something—” Sailor Moon ceased speaking when she noticed something in the sky. Neither Beryl nor Nightmare Moon noticed the expression on Sailor Moon’s face. They were more focused on finishing off the group at last. It was not until a shadow covered over Nightmare Moon that she finally took notice of what was in the sky above them. She saw Princess Luna, with her weapon Death Scythe Baku in mouth, descending upon them about to swing upon them with the glowing blade. Luna attempted to say something witty as she did so but was muffled by the staff. Nightmare Moon, though shocked, dodged the attack; thus, ending her part of the attack with Beryl and altogether canceling it. “No!” shouted Beryl before turning to Princess Luna. “How dare you!” Princess Luna did not speak, knowing it would be futile anyway. She was about to attack Beryl next but was intercepted by a magical blast from Nightmare Moon. The mare crashed into a wall, releasing her weapon in the process, and looked terribly hurt. As an Alicorn, she was fortunate that her physiology could take such hits even when depowered. It was a powerful blast, however, and she found herself barely able to move. Much to the amusement of her attacker. “Oh poor pathetic little princess,” mocked Nightmare Moon as she hovered near Luna. “Look how worthless you’ve become without my power.” “Y-You…!” The Princess of the Moon attempted to retort but failed. Nightmare Moon began to charge her horn for a magic attack with a sadistic smirk. “This is your end, false me!” she declared with zeal. Then, Sailor Moon swiftly moved between them and holding up her Moon Stick in defense of her friend. “I won’t let you!” she retorted defiantly. “Usagi…” Luna said weakly. Of course, Nightmare Moon laughed at the gesture. “Then you can die along with her!” she shouted and then launched her magic blast. Sailor Moon braced herself for the attack. As the beam of magic neared her and Princess Luna, their end nigh, a silhouette suddenly appeared in front of them. It was Tuxedo Mask, coming to the defense of Sailor Moon. The beam struck him, and an explosion immediately occurred. Through the smoke, the stallion hurtled over to Sailor Moon, severely hurt with no physical alterations. Princess Luna was shocked by the act as was Sailor Moon, who soon became horrified. "Tuxedo Mask!" À Suivre > Act 12 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Princess – Serenity "No!" Beryl reacted suddenly when she saw Nightmare Moon attack Tuxedo Mask. She swiftly fired her own blast at her partner. It struck the Alicorn though did minimal damage. The evil pony soon recovered and glared at her attacker as her horn began to glow again. "How dare you?!" roared the infuriated Nightmare Moon. "How dare you?!" retorted Beryl. "You attacked what's mine!" While the two evil mares began to argue and fight, Sailor Moon was already by Tuxedo Mask's side. She was trying desperately to keep the stallion alive, but he was quickly fading. Her cries fell on deaf ears as the male Earth pony began seeing fleeting visions. The trauma of the attack reawakened those lost memories that Tuxedo Mask wanted to recover. Those memories were that of his own past life as a prince of the Kingdom of Equestria, Endymion. Tuxedo Mask soon saw an image of a mare within the memories of his former life. She had a silver mane tied in two pigtails and buns, and she looked so similar to Sailor Moon and Usagi. The mare was even crying above him and desperately calling out to him. It was this vision overlapping with the present that made something click within the stallion's final thoughts. "S…Serenity…" spoke Tuxedo Mask before finally succumbing to injury. Sailor Moon could not bear it. "NO!" she cried out in emotional distraught. No sooner did she scream out, she and Tuxedo Mask encased in a transparent sphere of bright light. "U-Usagi!" called out Princess Luna in fear. Watching on, the other Sailor Guardians were also worried. "Sailor Moon!" they all shouted. Within the sphere, Sailor Moon and the now-dead Tuxedo Mask were unharmed. Sailor Moon did not even notice that they had been surrounded. Her tiara broke suddenly, like the night before, but was immediately replaced. Upon her forehead shined the crescent moon that Luna (cat), Artemis, and Sailor V bore; however, something was changing to the third. Sailor Moon's outfit then transformed from its usual sailor school uniform to a silver dress, and her mane lengthened to reach the floor and then some. "Is she…!" "How can…?" "She's…!" "Princess Serenity!" All those connected to Sailor Moon, except Sailor V and Artemis, were shocked by the reveal. At the same time, Sailor V's crescent emblem soon disappeared and was replaced with the symbol of Venus before forming a tiara with an orange jewel. Sailor V soon realized her change and was now concerned for the revealed true Princess Serenity. Meanwhile, Beryl and Nightmare Moon soon ceased their conflict upon seeing the light from the sphere. Both were now as shocked as the others. Neither one could act, however, as the shine blinded them from attempting anything further. As for Princess Luna, she stared at the sphere and through into the inside. She thought back to that short time ago when she first met Usagi and how uncanny her appearance was to her old friend. How foolish she was to not realize something so obvious. She watched as the mare began to mumble to herself. "I remember now…" spoke Usagi sadly to the cold body of Tuxedo Mask, nearly crying. "We were lovers…and you protected me like you did now. Oh, my prince…" Princess Luna then witnessed a single tear fall from Usagi. Amid its descent, it began to shine brightly, and yet, Luna could still see clearly its form. All around her, however, were being blinded by its luminescence. The Alicorn had no clue, but her attention was entirely on that single teardrop. Good thing too, for it soon began to shift from its liquid state to a solid one. Not like ice but like a gem. It also changed into a hue to become silver. It began to float then as Usagi brought both her hooves up to catch it, wholly surprised by the display. Luna was equally astounded by its appearance. "The Silver Crystal!" The light once produced by the silver sphere was immediately replaced by the illumination coming off the newly-formed crystal. It blinded all in the area, even forcing the two evil mares back. From all over the area, everyone could see the light, wondering how and why. Seeping through every easy and transparent opening in the city. The energy was being expelled from the gem, spreading over the immediate area. It was doing wondrous miracles like healing the injured and sick that were in the neighborhood or at the hospital on the other side. Dying plants were being revived and flourishing like new. It was as if everything was being rejuvenated. In relation, Princess Luna began to feel a surge of energy within herself. A silvery aura started glowing around her body, and her eyes shined similarly. Beryl and Nightmare, too, were being affected. The jewel on Beryl's staff began to crack, reacting negatively. Nightmare Moon had an adverse reaction physically. She was being burned by the rays produced and was causing her to retreat back. "So, this is the power of the Silver Crystal," Beryl said in frustration. She then descended down at the mare, aiming for the crystal. "It shall be mine!" As the evil unicorn drew near, something was happening with the Silver Crystal. Reacting to the thoughts and feelings of Usagi, the gem's light left its physical body and floated into Tuxedo Mask. The crystal then dropped into Usagi's hooves, and its glow ceased. She was unaware of Beryl approaching her and about to attack. Her body suddenly glowed with a blue magic aura, and she was jerked away immediately, Silver Crystal in tow. Beryl landed in the same spot in front of Tuxedo Mask and looked further ahead of herself, angry, disappointed, but cautious. What she saw was the Princess Serenity behind the glowing Princess Luna, appearing slightly bigger thanks to the aura. She floated before the evil mare and protecting the moon princess instinctively. Her weapon then moved next to her, brought forth by her magic, ensuring her stance. Beryl did not dare attempt an attack, but she did seize another opportunity. She used her magic to take ahold of Tuxedo Mask and moved back. "We're retreating!" she called out. Nightmare Moon, now recovering from her burns, growled but obeyed. The two evil mares joined together in the sky. A portal soon formed behind them, and they entered through. Usagi could only watch helplessly from behind Princess Luna, whose silver aura soon vanished. The Alicorn's hold released the younger mare, who could only watch as the evil mare took her lover away. "Tuxedo Mask!" The damage done to the Li home was extensive, and, under the recommendation of Sailor V, the group relocated to the base under Game Center Crown. Once so, they gave Usagi her space to recover from her emotional distress. It was the next evening before everyone decided to check in on the mare. The first to enter was Minako, feeling some personal responsibility for the situation. She transformed midway in her walk before stopping beside the weeping pony. "Sailor Moon… No, Princess Serenity," spoke Sailor V before kneeling before the mare. "Have you recovered your memories?" Sitting on a bed, Usagi was surprised by the display but also found it familiar, thanks to her new memories. She wiped away the tears from her eyes, and she nodded understandingly. "Then, you must remember that I am actually Sailor Venus, the leader of the Sailor Guardians, and you remember the Moon Kingdom, right?" Usagi nodded again. "Yes, I remember everything. All of my friends, my life, my love; I remember all of it." Ami approached with the others. She spoke, "We remember everything too." "To think, our Usagi was the real princess all along," spoke Makoto. Sailor Venus stood up and addressed the others. She apologized, "I'm sorry for deceiving you all, but it was important in protecting the princess and keeping the Silver Crystal within her safe." "Did you know, Luna?" asked Sailor Mars to the feline. Luna (cat) shook her head sadly. "I didn't know. My memories were sealed for the same reason." "Sorry for that, too," Artemis said apologetically. "You did your best, though, under the circumstances." The black cat did not seem too convinced. Turning to Usagi, who was looking back at her dazedly, Luna asked, "Are you alright, Usagi." Usagi nodded and slipped out of bed. "Everyone-Whoa!" before the young mare could speak to the group, she accidentally tripped over her now long hair. Her friends were surprised, and the Earth pony grew immediately frustrated. "Why is my hair so long?" Usagi complained aloud. Immediately, the other young mares had a good-natured laugh. Sailor Venus then transformed back into Minako and pulled out a mirror and a pair of scissors. As she began cutting Usagi's hair, she responded, "When you were Princess Serenity, you kept your hair long all the time. Your body must be adapting to your recovered memories." Rei then spoke lightheartedly, "I remember telling you back then that you would, one day, trip over your hair." Recalling the memory, Usagi let out a giggle. She then looked around at her friends as they all shared the same sentiment. It was now that the Earth pony noticed that someone was missing from their group. "Where's Princess Luna?" she asked. The Sailor Guardians told Usagi that Princess Luna, along with Flash Sentry and Tau, were currently in the main lobby. They were guarding in case the enemy attempted another attack. Every precaution was to be taken in defense of Usagi. The young mare wanted immediately to see her, now worried. She was quick to reach outside and found the trio standing by faithfully. "Luna!" Usagi called out. Princess Luna promptly turned around. "Young Usagi," she greeted gladly, "you have recovered." "Glad to see you're feeling better, Ms. Usagi," said Flash Sentry. Tau shared the same sentiment. Usagi smiled before she reached for something on her person. She soon pulled out the Silver Crystal, surprising all around her. As the Earth pony held it out towards Princess Luna, she told the mare cheerfully, "Here. This is what you've been waiting for, right?" The Alicorn nodded but did not take the gem. "It is, but its power is currently dormant right now. It no longer reacts to our presence, as well." "What do we do then?" asked Usagi, confused. "I don't know anything about it." Luna (cat) scampered between the two mares. "I think I know what we need to do," she stated. "What is it?" asked Usagi. "We need to go to the moon," Luna (cat) announced. "To the ruins of the old Moon Kingdom." Everyone was surprised by the declaration. The idea was utterly unheard of; no pony could reach the moon. Of course, realizing that the Moon Kingdom did exist on the moon and that ponies could reach it once though proved otherwise. Luna (cat) explained to the group that it was possible with their power. They only had to wait until the moon was in the right position in a few days. Princess Luna, however, felt that time was too late. "We cannot wait that long to rescue young Mamoru," she declared. Usagi stated at the princess, amazed. "Luna…" The Alicorn looked at the Earth pony and smiled. "We know that you want to rescue the young stallion, and We will help you," she stated assuredly. "How?" asked Usagi. Not answering at first, Princess Luna only kept her smile and began to walk out. Everyone was confused at first but decided to follow after her. They climbed up to the game center and then outside. Luna (pony) was not immediately in sight until someone looked up. She was on top of the building, fully revealed, and looking up to the sky. No one knew why until they noticed Luna's horn began to glow. "Luna!" Usagi called out. Though hearing her, the Alicorn continued her action. The dim glow of magic around her horn shined even brighter instantly. She then looked to be struggling as if she were moving something substantial. Everyone watched on confused until they noticed how the night sky began to brighten. From where Princess Luna stood, the moon slowly came into view. No pony could believe the sight of a single pony moving a celestial body like the moon. "She is an Alicorn, after all," commented Flash Sentry. It took a few more minutes before Princess Luna finally placed the moon. She put it just above the city, looking more significant than usual. The princess was wholly exhausted from exerting so much magic, but she seemed content and proud. "Finally…" Luna breathed out tiredly but victorious. À Suivre > Act 13 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moon – Revelation It may have been a solid five minutes when Usagi and her friends finally woke from their shock and awe. As Flash Sentry descended with Princess Luna in hoof, the girls immediately rushed around the mare, concerned, and amazed at the same time. The princess was happy to help but could barely express it. She had exhausted all her magic in pulling the moon to an optimal position. Luna (cat) immediately prepped for the group's travel. At a small mirror pool, with the moon near Luna (cat) told the group what to do. "Stand around the pool and transform. You'll be then transported to the ruins of the Moon Kingdom." "Right!" Princess Luna, using every bit of her remaining strength, stepped forward. "I would like to go with you." Usagi immediately asked the cat, "Can she?" "Of course." The girls gathered in a circle, ready to go. Usagi then uttered out the transformation phrase and while the others held up their pens. All five girls changed to their Sailor Guardian alter-egos in an instant and without affecting the princess. They began to continue glowing as the pool's water started shining brightly. Quickly, both Lunas and Artemis touched the ponies and were enveloped in the magical light as well. The brilliant illumination formed a beam and launched the group into the sky, leaving behind Flash Sentry and Tau to wait and watch. "Good luck," Flash said hopefully with Tau expressing the same. Ascending through clouds and atmosphere, the group traveled far above the surface of their world and into space. They were immediately protected by a sphere of magic as it brought them further away from the planet and closer to its satellite. The girls marveled at this one-in-a-lifetime sight, never had they seen their home so beautiful. For Princess Luna, it was a nostalgic view that made her smile with fondness. In only a few moments, the group arrived at the moon's surface in the presence of crumbling ruins. "Behold," spoke Luna (cat) grandiosely. "Here lies all that remains of the once-prosperous Moon Kingdom." Despite only being remnants, the girls were astounded by the discovery of this place. It was clear a civilization did once exist on the moon. The girls were amazed to see it, but all, starting with Sailor Moon, saw Princess Luna hold a different expression entirely. Her shock and horror were evident as she gazed around the area. Everyone was becoming worried about the Alicorn, so Usagi went and approached the stunned princess. "Princess Luna?" Princess Luna mumbled, "It's all really gone…" The princess of the night then looked down at the path they were on. "This used to be the main street…" Luna (pony) then looked further down the path. "It led all the way to the Moon Palace, where Serenity lived…" "Princess…" Usagi said again, attempting to comfort her friend. "There was a store that sold these delicious pastries, Moon Pies…" The Alicorn was lost in her doldrum as she approached the ruins of a building. "I think it was here…" Usagi now shouted desperately, "Luna!" Finally, the dazed equine awoke from her trance. She soon realized what had happened and attempted to dissuade any concern. "Apologies, young Usagi. For Us, it was only a short time ago when We…" Without warning, the Earth pony interrupted Princess Luna and enwrapped her in a hug. "I'm so sorry,' she said sadly. It was a short moment later that the two rejoined the group. Both Lunas led the group towards one of the more extensive ruins, which both identified it as the Moon Palace. There was still much of the original layout left intact only without a roof and a wall or two. Not surprisingly, the two Lunas continued to recognize each area of the remnants and having a good time. All the girls and Artemis were a little annoyed by it but also happy that Princess Luna was in better spirits. As the group traveled deeper through the compound, they soon came upon a single crystal structure surrounded by some remaining columns. At its base, there was a stone sword embedded in rock pedestal. "What is that?" asked Sailor Moon. Artemis answered, "A very important item. Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, each of you must try and pull it out." Each mare gave it a try. In the order that the white cat gave, the girls failed to even budge the item one by one. After three attempts, it looked as if the endeavor was a loss, but Sailor Venus was still willing to try. She tried with all her might, but the sword came out swiftly. Everyone was astounded, including the mare herself. Now released from the stone, the rock exterior of the sword broke away to reveal the pristine and pure form of the weapon. Upon the sword's release, the crystal tower began to glow. Everyone was surprised and went on guard. Light suddenly shined through the crevasse, and an image was projected forth. A small white-coated unicorn mare with silver hair appeared with fairylike wings on her back appeared. And much like how Luna (cat) and Artemis, the pony had a crescent moon located around her horn. She opened her silver eyes and gazed over the group happily. The mare was about to speak but stopped when she caught sight of one pony. Her smile changed to shock, and tears began to fall. "Luna…" Princess Luna was very much in the same emotional state. "Serenity…" she said as she stepped towards the little pony. "I can't believe…" Serenity nearly choked up before speaking further. She then began to smile while her tears continued falling. "You're finally free." Princess Luna responded, "I'm sorry it took so long…" Sailor Moon stepped next to the princess. "Is that really Queen Serenity," she said in awe. The queen turned to look at the mare and smiled happily. "You're here too, my daughter. Though, I guess that's not really the case anymore…" "We are all here, your grace," spoke Luna (cat). She and the rest of their group began gathering around the tiny equine, to better see her and vice versa. "You all are here," Serenity said happily, "This is amazing," said Sailor Mercury looking over the hologram. "You're having a conversation with us as if you were actually here." "That is thanks to Moon Castle's computer system, the Eternity Main, where the real Queen Serenity recorded her memories and personality. She wanted to be able to help her reincarnated daughter and her friends." "How?" asked Sailor Venus. The hologram gestured to the sword. "That is the Holy Sword of the Silver Crystal. It was used in your previous life to protect Princess Serenity. It has great power." Sailor Venus held the sword up, amazed. "Oh wow…!" "And I can tell you about your true enemy," Serenity stated with severity. "Queen Beryl?" asked Sailor Mars. Serenity shook her head. "Beryl is only a pawn for the true mastermind. The real culprit is something far more dangerous." "What?" asked Princess Luna. "The one behind the destruction of the Moon Kingdom was an abnormality born from the sun itself. It grew jealous of the beautiful gem known as Earth and the precious treasure that Princess Luna gave me, the Silver Crystal." Princess Luna was shocked. "What? The sun?" "I only learned that part too late," Serenity stated sorrowfully. "That being, so full of evil and jealousy, attempted to manipulate Princess Luna, who she sensed great dismay and weakness." The group, especially Luna (pony), was shocked by this revelation. It never occurred to the princess how she became such an evil being who starkly contrasted her own personality. Her kin even believed that it was her Alicorn magic that was fulfilling her ambition turned-dark. Serenity, meanwhile, continued her explanation. "But only half succeed. She could not control the Alicorn known as Nightmare Moon, and so, she sought an easier target. It was Beryl, a pony who had that same envy as she, that she chose to imbue her dark power. Under Metlia's influence completely, she led that terrible revolt and destroyed everything I cared about." "My only solace is that I was able to seal that entity away from harming anyone else further. But from all the sorrow, confusion, and losing everything, I could not use the Silver Crystal to its fullest extent, which costed my life. Thus, it was only a temporary solution, and now that entity is about to try again in Equestria." Sailor Jupiter stepped forward, looking determined. "Not if we can stop them!" "How, though?" asked Sailor Moon worriedly. "The Silver Crystal doesn't glow anymore." Serenity looked confused and asked, "What happened?" Sailor Venus explained, "Sailor Moon used the Silver Crystal to heal the stallion who was Prince Endymion, your highness." "I see." The hologram queen smiled and addressed her former daughter, "You must have been trying to save his life," the hologram queen said kindly. Princess Luna then approached. "It doesn't seem to react to us as well. How can that be?" Queen Serenity responded, "The Silver Crystal has become so much more since you've been gone, Luna. Its power relies on the emotions and mindset of its user. You both need only to realize your potential." Suddenly, the image began to grow fuzzy much to everyone's shock. The hologram Serenity noticed this as well. "I'm sorry there isn't much time left." "Queen Serenity…" said Luna (cat) sadly. "What do you mean, Serenity?" asked Princess Luna desperately. "We know our potential. We are the princess of the moon, overseer of the night, and a ruler over Equestria." The image sadly smiled at the Alicorn. "Luna, you have always been more than just those titles…" "Serenity…" "I only have so much energy left, so I have but one last thing to say. My final secret," Serenity said quickly as the image began to fade. Sailor Moon, however, tried to help. "Wait, the Silver Crystal can…!" She tried to use the gemstone to give the computer energy, but it did nothing. "Luna, I love you, please take care of our reincarnated daughter…" Finally, the hologram of Queen Serenity disappeared, and the glowing ceased from the crystal tower. Sailor Moon gave up and collapsed to the floor, nearly in tears. Her friends and guardians, however, were left stunned as they looked to their princess and then Princess Luna. The Alicorn was frozen in place as the revelation sunk into her mind. Tears were falling as the realization came that she could never respond back to her friend. Then, there came other feelings. She began feeling joy, but it was mixed with confusion and sadness. She then turned to Sailor Moon as she wondered how she was dealing with the information. To her surprise, the mare was looking sheepish. "Hehe, hiya, Mom." Now, the group was surprised at Sailor Moon and stared at her. "You knew?!" "Only since my old memories returned," Sailor Moon said bashfully. "But… How?" asked Princess Luna. Growing embarrassed, Sailor Moon explained, "When I was Princess Serenity, my mother would always show me this beautiful mural…" Becoming suddenly inspired, Sailor Moon walked off in search of the mural she mentioned. The group followed her but remained behind as she explored the area. It was not long when Sailor Moon finally stopped. She and everyone looked upon a piece of crumbling wall where a painting was placed. Most of it was gone, but the center image was what mattered. It was of a mare like Queen Serenity holding a foal with the Silver Crystal on her. Around the mother and daughter, an old and stretched image of Princess Luna was above them and radiating upon the two lovingly. "It's…" spoke Princess Luna astounded, but she could not complete her thought. Luna (cat) soon warned that the group had little time left. The connection back to Earth would only stay open for a short time longer. They had acquired critical information as well as a scared weapon to help in their fight against the Dark Kingdom. Everyone returned home safely and were immediately shocked by the sudden change from a silent, deserted wasteland to a noisy, populated paradise. They all returned to the game center and were greeted by Flash Sentry and Tau. "So, what's the plan?" asked Flash Sentry, ready for action. Ami answered though unsurely, "Well, besides learning some interesting facts, all we can do is prepare for when Queen Beryl and Nightmare Moon attack again." The tomboyish Makoto communicated, "Don't we have any leads on finding their headquarters or something?" "None that I'm aware of." Flash quickly spoke up, "Actually, we might have a couple of ponies that might be able to help with that." "Who?" asked Minako curiously. "I'll tell you later," Flash stated before showing some concern. "I think you guys need a break after everything that's happened." Luna (cat) spoke immediately, "I agree with Sir Flash. You all need your rest if we want to finish this battle against our Enemy." "Best you all stay here too," Artemis said assuredly. "Now that they know your identities, they may try to strike again." Rei immediately asked, "What about our families?" "I'll take care of it with the Li family," Flash said confidently. "You guys rest." All the mares present, Princess Luna and Usagi not present currently, could not argue against that assessment. Flash Sentry then left, leaving Tau behind as another measure of security for the mares. While the girls prepared for bed, Usagi and Princess Luna were in another room having a meaningful conversation. Both were sitting atop the building, looking out to the moon and black sky surrounding it. "Did you love Queen Serenity?" Princess Luna was hesitant to respond at first, but she eventually forced it out. "Yes, but such a romance is frowned upon in society," she stated sadly. Usagi looked at the Alicorn, confused. She then told the older mare, "Maybe back then, but I've never seen any-pony mind it now, and there's quite a few cute couples in town." "I see," the Alicorn said as a small smile formed. But it did not last long before Luna became more stoic and reserved. "But it does not matter anymore. Serenity has long since passed, and I can never share my moments with her like before." "Luna…" said Usagi sadly as she looked at the pony. As the princess turned to Usagi, she saw the Silver Crystal hanging around her friend's neck. She lifted it up as she gazed upon his dull luster and began to muse openly. "To think that my gift, a mere magical gem meant to keep my friend and love safe, would become something so powerful and mysterious." Usagi stated frustratedly, "I wish she'd told us how to use it, though. I have no idea what to do." Gently placing the gem back, Princess Luna agreed with the sentiment but also had some words of encouragement. "We think you will figure it, Usagi. You are…very spunky, that is the word We have been told suits you." The young mare was a little surprised at first by the compliment, but Usagi was soon smiling for it. She then enwrapped the Alicorn in a hug to show her appreciation for her kind words. In doing so, she posed a question for the princess. "So, are we still friends? I know you're my past life's mom, but…" Princess Luna chuckled before answering, "Being your friend would be far more pleasant than trying to act like your mother now." "Our daughter is gone as well, even if she's now reborn. You are your own pony, Usagi, and I would not have it any other way." In the lair of Dark Kingdom, the two queens under Queen Metalia were in a heated argument. Beside them, the motionless Tuxedo Mask laid upon a cold stone block unaffected by the noise around him. The same could not be said for their amorphous leader on the other side, who was losing her patience. "Enough!" roared the secret leader of the Dark Kingdom. As the entire castle shook from the booming voice, both Beryl and Nightmare Moon instantly stopped their argument. They both cowered before the being as it grew large and threatening overhead. "Your bickering is pointless to me!" announced Metalia enraged. With her red eyes, the entity looked over to Beryl disapprovingly. "You failed to destroy the princess and retrieve the Silver Crystal, and all you have to show for it is a worthless husk!" Beryl immediately bowed before the creature and began to plead. "Please, Queen Metalia, I meant not to fail you, but I took a chance to acquire my true love!" "I don't care about your measly wants, Beryl! I want the Silver Crystal's power!" Kneeling next, Nightmare Moon told the ethereal being, "We are outnumbered, my queen. Even if we were to go back, we might not be able to acquire the Silver Crystal for you." At first, Queen Metalia was displeased by the excuse. She would have reprimanded the Alicorn if she did not soon after realizing an idea. Her red eyes soon gazed back onto the unconscious body of their hostage. Metalia calmly but sinisterly replied, "You are right, Queen Nightmare Moon." Both minor-queens were surprised by her sudden acceptance. "We need an ally that even Sailor Moon cannot defeat…" From her gaseous body, Metalia began extending out her being out. It was like a snake made of smoke as it slithered its way around the queens and to Tuxedo Mask. Climbing up the stone, the smokey tendrils encircled the bed before spreading over the body. A black gassy layer covered the entirety of the spot. Both queens became curious and approached cautiously. Before the two mares could get much closer, the dark mist was parted as Tuxedo Mask suddenly sat up. Neither fiends were too guarded as they noticed a cold and dark look in the stallion's eyes. It was clear that he was no longer the pony they knew before. "Arise," spoke Metalia. "my dark Prince Endymion!" À Suivre > Act 14 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evil – Queen Metalia It was many hours later when all the Sailor Guardians and Princess Luna awoke within their base of operations. After a quick meal, they were greeted by Flash Sentry returning from his task. Everyone was shocked when he came in, bringing five more ponies, four of which the group knew. “It’s the Elite Four!” shouted Makoto. Just as all the Sailor Guardians prepared to transform, Flash Sentry quickly intervened. “Wait! They’re not evil anymore!” he shouted. “Huh?!” shouted the girls, shocked. Kunzite, whose cutie mark was now silver, spoke, “I know that when we met, we were trying to kill you, but we were under the effects of Queen Beryl and her master.” “Before all of this, we each lived different lives when we were each ensnared by that wretched mare,” said Nephrite, his own cutie mark now returned to purple. Though still suspicious, Rei asked the group, “How did you break free then?” Princess Luna spoke, “That was thanks in part of our Scared Treasure, Death Scythe Baku. It absorbs all magic from the individual. No matter if it belongs to the pony or not.” “It was thanks to Princess Luna that we’re back to ourselves,” said Jadeite relievedly. His cutie marked was now emerald green. Zoisite, having a pink gem cutie mark, then stated, “But, then this brilliant light hit us, and we regained memories of our past lives during the Silver Millennium…” “We were once the elite guard for Equestria’s representative to the Moon Kingdom, Prince Endymion,” explained Kunzite. Usagi perked upon hearing the name. “Mamoru…” “Yes, princess,” said Kunzite before continuing. “We were brainwashed back too by Beryl in her past life to help her destroy the Moon Kingdom. We even fought against our prince and died for that wicked mare. Now, we want to help you defeat her and her master.” The Sailor Guardians, though very hesitant, allowed the stallions to join them. With the first problem settled, everyone turned to Flash Sentry’s fifth guest. The pony looked as if the royal guard picked him out of a crowd, which turned out to be true in a sense. He was not really a regular pony but a changeling by the name of Thorax, captured when the girls found him on the night of the masquerade dance. “Uh, hi, everyone,” greeted the timid changeling. Flash Sentry then explained. “Thorax has agreed to lead us to where the Dark Kingdom is hiding, and, in turn, we set him free provided he never returns to La Luna again.” Princess Luna was pleased by the stallion’s work. “Excellent work, Sir Flash. We nearly have everything we need to vanquish the Dark Kingdom.” “What are we missing?” asked Ami. “A way to defeat Metalia once and for all.” Princess Luna then explained, “Without knowing how to use the Silver Crystal properly, an alternative must be devised if we are to succeed.” Kunzite stepped forward. “I believe I can give you some information that may help with that, Princess Luna.” “Metalia is mostly an amorphous figure that wields incredible and destructive magic, but she has a weakness. The scar on her forehead is where you should aim to defeat her.” Rei asked immediately, “What about Queen Beryl? I doubt she’ll let us just walk up to her leader and kill her.” “Alas, she never let on,” Nephrite said regrettably. Minako was annoyed but remained calm. “She’s a normal pony, all we have to do is fend off her magic.” “And Nightmare Moon?” asked Makoto worriedly. Princess Luna answered, “We shall take care of her.” Everyone looked at the Alicorn worriedly, so Usagi asked, “Are you sure, Luna?” “I may not have magic, but I still have my skills to fight.” Luna then turned to Usagi sympathetically spoke, “We need everyone to fight if we are to get young Mamoru…” Usagi was surprised but nodded in understanding. Though there were reservations, the group did agree that it was time to strike. Luna and Artemis would stay at the control center, but the former Elite Four would return to the Li Compound to help. Flash Sentry and Tau remained at the base as well to stand as the last line of defense. “Good luck, girls,” Flash Sentry told the girls before they left. Tau too yipped the same sentiment. Everyone else followed Thorax. He led them out of town and into the outer rim of the San Palomino Desert. They did not have to travel far before finding a massive rock outcrop covering over the ruins of a mostly intact castle. Everyone could feel that there was something off with building, sensing darkness inside. “Okay!” said Thorax nervously as he backed away. “You guys don’t need me to get inside, so good luck and bye!” No-one stopped the changeling from running off. He was of little concern for the group as they were about to face their most dangerous adversaries. Everyone took a step forward and approached the tumbledown palace courageously. As sand became withered stone forming a pathway into the building. Everything around them appeared to change once inside. From the temperature to the lighting, it was like the group had entered another world. It was creepy and dank yet in order and lived in. “Everyone be careful,” advised Princess Luna. “We are in the enemy’s territory.” “This place is so spooky,” said Usagi, frightened. A male voice then spoke, “You should have seen it in its heyday.” Everyone turned towards a hallway shrouded in darkness. From the hall, none other than Tuxedo Mask walked out slowly. He appeared much different missing his white mask and hat. The tuxedo he was wearing was much fancier than his usual attire. No one noticed the difference initially as they were all surprised to see the stallion show up. “Mamoru!” shouted Usagi happily. However, Mamoru continued speaking. “This used to be a beautiful kingdom. The envy of the Canterlot royalty once a long time ago. Now, it is nothing more than ruins in a desolate desert…” Usagi picked up quickly that the stallion was behaving very differently. “Mamoru?” The stallion then raised his hoof and formed a sphere or dark purple magic. He shouted with wicked zeal, “Pay for the destruction of my kingdom!” Immediately, Mamoru launched his attack. Everyone moved to dodge with Princess Luna leading Usagi from the line of fire. Usagi was confused as to why her love would suddenly attack them. Luna, though, informed her that the young stallion was possessed. A notion soon confirmed as Queen Beryl arrived from the opposite way. “He is no longer Tuxedo Mask or Mamoru Chiba, but his true self, my Prince Endymion!” Appearing upon the balcony, Nightmare Moon revealed herself as well. “The Dark Kingdom will rise, and all will fall to our ruler, Queen Metalia!” “Hail, Queen Metalia! Hail to the Dark Kingdom!” cheered the possessed Mamoru. Surrounded by their enemies, Usagi quickly gave out the command. “Everyone! Transform!” She then raised up her Moon Stick. “Moon Prism Power…!” The other girls did the same with their transformation pens. “Mercury Power…!” “Mars Power…!” “Jupiter Power…!” “Venus Power…!” And together… “Make-up!” Altogether, the mares transformed into their sailor uniforms. They were all surrounded by light that changed or gave them clothes and accessories. Each had their own color of blue, red, green, or orange with Usagi’s outfit white and blue with a red ribbon. It took only a second for what would be a much longer change time. The light around the mares burst off them to reveal their new but familiar appearances. Sailor Moon announced immediately, “We are the pretty soldiers in sailor uniforms. The guardians of love and justice. I am Sailor Moon…!” “Sailor Mercury!” announced the blue-mane Pegasus mare. “Sailor Mars!” declared the red unicorn. “Sailor Jupiter!” proclaimed the Earth pony with a brown mane. “Sailor Venus!” said the light orange Pegasus. Sailor Moon then continued, “We are the Sailor Guardians, and in the name of the Moon, you will be punished!” Annoyed, Beryl declared, “Only you will be punished here, Princess Serenity!” “Nay,” said Princess Luna as she stepped forward determinedly. “Beryl, Nightmare Moon, it is time that you both received the punishment for your crimes against Equestria and her allies.” “We will destroy you!” shouted Nightmare Moon angrily. Luna replied venomously, “We share the same sentiment!” Nightmare Moon could not take the presence of Princess Luna any longer. She leaped from the balcony and attempted to stomp the smaller Alicorn. Luna reacted by swinging her scythe around to block her opponent’s hooves and then deflect her away. The princess immediately went after her advisory with great determination. “Luna!” Sailor Moon called out worriedly. Before the young leader could go after her friend, the possessed Mamoru intercepted her. He immediately attacked with a mighty swipe that sent the mare back. The other Sailor Guardians attempted to help Sailor Moon, but a wall of flame soon cut them off. It was evident to the group who had cut them off, and they turned to see Queen Beryl with both her horn and the gem on her staff glowing. The mare herself wore a wicked grin as well. “I will allow you all the honor of being my first victims before I finish off Sailor Moon and Princess Luna!” Sailor Venus quickly retorted, “Don’t think we’ll go down so easily, Queen Beryl!” Each of the girls attacked attempting to finish off the evil mare, but Beryl was able to counter every strike through the use of her protective shield. Once they were finished, the malicious unicorn fired her spells at the group aiming for any of them. The girls were able to dodge and maneuver around her attacks before relaunching their own, but the result was still the same. It was a deadlock with the Sailor Guardians slowly losing energy with each strike. Something had to be done soon. It was now that Sailor Venus summoned the Holy Sword she received on the moon. She began to focus as she chanted, “O Holy Sword of the Silver Crystal, I, Sailor Venus, call upon you to help protect the kingdom once more…” The sword instantly began shining brightly and blinding Queen Beryl. Sailor Venus continued her chant as she prepared to attack, “Vanquish our enemy and bring peace to our home!” The Pegasus mare lunged at Queen Beryl while she was distracted. Beryl sensed the attack coming and threw up a protective sphere around her. Though she could not see it clearly, the evil pony poured all her magic into the barrier to make it impenetrable. Sailor Venus continued not knowing this but soon proved to be pointless. Her sword went through the magic shield, and its point struck the orb at the end of Beryl’s staff. The jewel cracked and then shattered much to Beryl’s shock. The energy was immediately released into an explosion that threw both opponents back. The other Sailor Guardians caught their friend while the sword flew further back behind the group. None of them worried about it as their attention was placed ahead. All the energy in the wicked queen’s staff was now coursing through her body and electrocuting her. When it stopped, Beryl looked more like charcoal than her former self and was beginning to crumble away. “N-No…” spoke Beryl despairingly. Now desperate, the mare held out her hoof out towards where Mamoru was last seen. “My love…” she said as her body crumbled away. Her last thought was of when she, in her past life, fell in love with Prince Endymion only for him to be in love with Princess Serenity. Once the last of their opponent was dust scattering in the wind, the Sailor Guardians were together relieved. “We…did it,” said Sailor Mercury amazed. “Good thing you brought the sword,” said Sailor Jupiter to their most recent joining member. Sailor Venus soon noticed, though, that her sword was not by her. “Speaking of, like, where did it go?” “We better search for it quickly,” stated Sailor Mercury. Before the Sailor Guardians could begin, the sound of clashing drew their attention immediately. It was Princess Luna and Nightmare Moon, and their fight was appearing very one-sided. No longer using physical attacks, the evil Alicorn was launching a barrage shadowy orbs at her smaller foe. Princess Luna was doing her best as she spun her scythe around in dissipating the attacks as they came close. The few the princess missed exploded upon hitting the ground with any nearby damaging her from the splash. Each time her sinister doppelganger was able to push her closer to the fires. The Sailor Guardians forgot about the sword for now and rushed to aid their friend. “Akuryo Taisan!” shouted Sailor Mars before launching forth two fireballs. The fire attack went straight for Nightmare Moon. Stopping her onslaught immediately, the evil Alicorn maneuvered and dodged the fiery blasts. She soon retaliated by producing a few shadowy tendrils to lash at the group. Sailors Mars and Jupiter were unfortunately hit while the other two leaped out of the way. Luna easily sliced through them all as she defended her allies. “We have this well in hoof,” spoke Princess Luna through her staff assuredly. “You need not come to our aide for We will vanquish this fiend ourselves.” Recovering, Sailor Mercury retorted determinedly, “You don’t have to do it by yourself. We’re your friends too, Luna.” “Try to have a little faith in us,” said Sailor Jupiter as she began smiling endearingly. Sailor Venus then stated, “We’re here to help you too, ya know?” Princess Luna was surprised by the sudden declaration and was even touched by their solidarity with her. During the battle, the princess knew that there was no time for questioning those you would trust on the battlefield. She nodded to the girls and smiled, showing her understanding of their goodwill. Together, Luna and the rest of the Sailor Guardians faced back against their now-shared opponent. Nightmare Moon, however, was annoyed. “You all can die together!” she roared. “Everyone!” shouted Princess Luna. “Attack together!” The Sailor Guardians nodded. “Right!” The evil Alicorn took flight and began summoning a large amount of dark magic above her. It grew more significant by the second before becoming as large as a boulder. While the malicious mare prepared, the Sailor Guardians gathered in front of Princess Luna. Each brought out their transformation pens and placed them center in their circle as each began glowing. Behind the group, Luna was preparing something as well. With the blade close to her face, the princess whispered to it as if the steel were alive. “Baku, awaken.” Beginning from the jewel by the base of the blade, a magic aura of sparkly light-blue hue enveloped the steel. Its shape began to change as it partially parted like a mouth with jagged teethlike edges. The upper part extended further, and the topmost section gaining a curved horn. She then held her blade back and waited to strike. Finally, Nightmare Moon finished charging her attack. “Die, Luna!” she shouted, launching her assault. To meet her attack, the Sailor Guardians fired their own. “Sailor Planet Attack!” From the center of their grouping, the mares’ energies collected and fired at their opponent’s attack. The two attacks met and collided in the middle. Each had about the same power making them dead in the air. It would take something more to overpower the other. That is when Princess Luna made her move. “Dreamcast!” announced Princess Luna. Swinging her scythe, Luna released all the energy towards the blasts. It joined with the Sailor Guardians’ attack and fused to power-up into one super-strong attack. Together, the combined techniques broke through the large sphere. It continued to soar straight to Nightmare Moon, much to her shock and horror. She barely had time to react but not enough to avoid the assault together. Upon contact, it exploded and sent the evil Alicorn crashing through a wall on the opposite side of the room. The group was astonished by the effectiveness of their combination and was overjoyed by their win. “Let’s hurry to Sailor Moon,” said Sailor Mars to the group. Everyone agreed and hurried to find their friend and leader. The flames created by the now-dead Beryl had long since lost their magnitude and size as they began smoldering out. Princess Luna led the charge through the insufficient embers to search for Sailor Moon on the other side. Everyone could see that, despite facing against her love, there was a struggle that led out of the room. Everyone galloped down the hallway as they followed the trail of damage further into the castle. The sounds of a battle were becoming increasingly evident as the group moved to go even faster for their friend. Eventually, the group exited the hallway to now find themselves in a large chamber where a stone throne stood vacant and crumbling. It was nearby this weathered seat that they saw Sailor Moon and the possessed Mamoru together. Sailor Moon was holding the Holy Sword via magic telekinesis as she held it at the stallion. “Sailor Moon!” shouted the Sailor Guardians frightenedly. The mare did not look back, however. Sailor Moon continued facing her opponent but spoke in a sad tone to the others. “Everyone… I’m sorry.” Without warning, Sailor Moon slashed the sword upon Mamoru. Everyone was shocked, but it was only the prelude as then the mare swiftly caught the stallion as he fell in a kiss. It lasted for only a second as soon the Earth pony commanded her magic to raise the sword again and jabbed the blade into herself. “Sailor Moon!” screamed the group, now horrified. Both ponies fell on top of the other, appearing like a couple struck down in the prime of life. The scene was absolutely despairing for the group as the girls began to feel hopeless and miserable. It appeared as if fate and destiny would always lead them to a sad end with all their efforts feeling futile. Princess Luna was feeling much the same on a magnitude more significant than the other mares could ever realize. She had sworn to protect the reincarnation of her daughter, and she failed miserably due to her selfish desire to defeat her doppelganger. “Look!” shouted Sailor Venus suddenly. Everyone looked back at the fallen couple, almost hesitantly. The group did eventually look and saw something sparkling from both ponies. From Sailor Moon, a glowing Silver Crystal began to float from her body. It was from Mamoru’s body where the next light came from as it formed what looked like a sliver of glass. Together, the two objects began floating around above the fallen lovers. Each revolution brought the small piece closer to the gem until it slipped into its form like a missing jigsaw. Now together, the now-completed Silver Crystal shined and illuminated every crevasse and crack in the ruined castle. And that light even reached the chambers of Queen Metalia. “Yes!” spoke the amorphous being with pleasure. “I can feel the energy of the Silver Crystal!” “I want it! Give it to me!” Suddenly, the monstrous gas-like creature erupted and expanded. Metalia then began forcing her way up towards the source. Above them, the crystal began to react further. It formed a crystalline construct around the two lovers. Before the group could approach, shadowy tendrils sprouted forth and wrapped around the structure. The Sailor Guardians and Princess Luna were horrified before immediately retreating as the floor gave way. As the stone crumbled away, Queen Metalia engulfed the rock, like candy with glee. “Finally!” announced Queen Metalia victoriously. “I have the Silver Crystal!” À Suivre > Act 15 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Final Battle – Reincarnation Princess Luna looked back in worry as she and the Sailor Guardians galloped through the crumbling castle. The image of the amorphous monster swallowing the crystal that held her friend and her lover was still fresh in her mind. To think that the mastermind behind the Dark Kingdom, Metalia, would strike so suddenly was unexpected. Now, the building was beginning to collapse as the being grew more extensive thanks to the Silver Crystal's power. Luna and the Sailor Guardians were able to leave just as the hallway came crashing down. They were relieved they all made it out in time, but as the smoke and dust cleared, the rumbling beneath their hooves proved that it was not over. The castle collapsed away as the large body of Queen Metalia rose from the rubble. Her arched back lifting the rest of her body to raise her head. Metalia gazed down with her red eyes at her surroundings before beginning to smirk, her mouth glowing red. She began to cackle as she reveled in her newly acquired power. "What awesome power! Did that fool of a queen really think to only use it for peace? Pathetic!" The fluid fiend used her new strength to lift the rock above the area backward with her large size. The massive stone landed and shook the area violently. All the Sailor Guardians and Princess Luna were nearly thrown off their balance. Metalia, with an unhindered view of the bright blue sky, opened her maw to spew out black miasma into that perfect air. It formed into dense and sinister clouds that started spreading further out. The demonic being finished her task promptly but was gleeful. "Now, my age of darkness shall begin!" Metalia then looked over to see the city of La Luna a short distance away. "And that place shall be the first under my dominion!" "No!" shouted Princess Luna. Metalia, however, was unconcerned in the either Princess Luna or the Sailor Guardians. She started to move her large body forward, smashing through the remains of the castle. Everyone quickly moved away as the giant continued on. Metalia paid no attention to the group as she continued to La Luna. "I can't believe it…" Sailor Mercury said as she collapsed to the ground despairingly. "After all we've tried, we absolutely failed in every regard." Sailor Jupiter was equally as distressed. "We failed Sailor Moon…" "We can't give up!" shouted Sailor Venus desperately. "If we don't do something, then all of La Luna will be destroyed." "What can we do?" asked Sailor Mars. "Anything!" Sailor Venus shouted with urgency. "We have to do everything we can. For La Luna, and for Sailor Moon." The blue Pegasus looked at her friend, unsure. "I don't know…" A stomp of a hoof brought all the mares' attention to Princess Luna. The Alicorn expressed much frustration as she watched the ginormous and monstrous Metalia slowly but steadily towards the city. Many thoughts were on her mind from the immediate to what had just passed, the latter still heavy. Her dear friend – and reincarnated daughter – was gone, and it had been due to her recklessness. The princess could allow for her mistake to cost any more lives. "I will fight," Princess Luna stated determinedly. "Princess Luna!?" shouted the Sailor Guardians in shock. "That is the least We can do for Usagi, but it also our duty to all of Equestria! We will not allow for Metalia to destroy everything that our friend Clow Reed, my sister, and my uncle have built this past millennium!" Sailor Venus stepped up next to the princess. She was smiling as she told the mare, "You don't have to do it alone, ya know." "We'll help too," said Sailor Jupiter with Sailors Mercury and Mars behind her, all determined as well. Feeling her frustrations relieved a little, Princess Luna nodded to her comrades with a smile. She and the group stood together as they watched Metalia stomp closer towards La Luna. She was already halfway to the city, but the Sailor Guardians knew how to reach her quickly. Holding hooves, the group formed a magic sphere around themselves. They invited Luna to join them, but she figured her flying ability would be sufficient when she made her strike. Together, the group soared after the evil being with all haste. Everyone caught up with the colossal creature in moments before splitting up to attack. Overtaking the monster, the Sailor Guardians put themselves a reasonable distance away before landing outside the city limits. The sphere disappeared upon landing, and the mares readied to fight. It was apparent to all of them that none of their attacks would work on such a massive opponent. They would need to use their most significant attack. "Everyone, together!" declared Sailor Venus as she held up her pen. "Use all the power you've got!" Each one did the same as the blonde-mane mare, holding their transformation pens. Sailor Mercury was first, "Mercury Power!" "For La Luna!" shouted Sailor Mars before continuing the trend. "Mars Power!" Sailor Jupiter also had something to add. "And for our friend! Jupiter Power!" Meanwhile, as the Sailor Guardians charged their strike, Princess Luna began her attack. "Baku, devour!" Upon the chest area, the Alicorn swung her scythe down upon her enemy. The blade sunk into the body and began to glow; however, nothing was happening to the giant. "Inconceivable…" Luna was not sure of what to do next. She soon began removing her weapon from the being when she noticed something within the body. The mare attempted to peer through the swirling mass that formed Metalia's body. "What is this?" Eventually, Metalia started noticing the actions of her enemies. First was the Sailor Guardians' attack that was shining in front of her. She could easily sense the amount of magic growing but did nothing more than stop. A smirk formed upon her maw as the amorphous being became amused by the audacity of her enemies. "You dare believe you can defeat me?!" Undeterred, Sailor Venus shouted, "Give it everything you got!" Finally, the attack was ready. "Sailor Planet Attack!" A massive blast of magic much from the group's center than when used on Nightmare Moon was fired at the evil monster. The colorful blast rocketed through the air. It struck Metalia on her chest, forcing the gigantic pony back a few steps. She stopped and withstood the full impact of the attack. The stream of magic power continued for only a few seconds longer before finally ceasing. Metalia was seared slightly but nothing more. The monstrous mare soon began to laugh. "Such a pitiful attempt," the mare mocked with zeal. All the young mares could not respond. Just as Sailor Venus asked, they had given all their magical power and energy to destroy Metalia. Now, the group was barely able to stand. One by one, each Sailor Guardian dropped to the ground, unconscious. Princess Luna saw this and shouted, "No!" Metalia began to move again. Luna attempted to pull her weapon from the creature but could not. Time was of the essence as the giant was proceeding towards her friends. It was all too likely that Metalia would crush them before making her to the city itself. The Alicorn abandoned her attempt and proceeded to make for the eyes. She would either attack or distract to draw the monster away. As the princess attempted to attack, her presence was noticed by Metalia, who retaliated immediately. The being's eye glowed brightly and launched a blast. It was too late for Luna to do anything, and she had not any magic to use. Her fate was sealed. A flash and the massive beam of energy ceased when Metalia ended her attack. The nebulous nemesis laughed as she felt that all her problems were no settled, and her dark reign assured. She then restarted her trek for the city, unabated and assured. However, she was suddenly assaulted by a barrage of magic attacks aimed for her head. All of it together forced Metalia to stop, but none had done any severe damage and cover her eyes with smoke. It only worked to annoy her much. "Who dares…?!" And some pony replied, "We would!" When the smoke cleared away, Metalia saw who had spoken to her. It was Flash Sentry garbed in Royal Guard armor and side-holding Princess Luna, who was wholly surprised. The usual cheerful expression the stallion often wore was now replaced with professionalism and a stoic expression. A moment of clarity made Luna soon realize what had happened and finally noticed her rescuer. "Sir Flash?" Flash smiled and stated, "Not just me…" He then gestured behind them. The princess did the same, and she was astounded. There was a force composed of many of La Luna's police force and many Li family members behind them. Standing at the front of the crowd was Luna and Artemis, with the Li Quadruplet sisters next to them. They were also joined by the Dark Kingdom's former Elite Four. It was a sufficient force that could be considered a "small army." Still, it was a meager force against a giant like Metalia and her evil power. Luna separated from the Royal Guard as she looked out at the colossal crowd. "Incredible," she said. "Everyone began to gather when we heard the commotion, so the cats and I helped organize them into a defense force!" explained Flash proudly. "La Luna!" Flash shouted to the force. "Fire again! Don't let that monster enter the city!" Everyone obeyed, and every unicorn fired a blast of magic. The barrage of attacks hit Metalia, creating explosions across her body. None had enough power to defeat the monster, but together, La Luna's forces could distract and hinder her for a bit. At the same time, the former Elite Four stallions went to recover the downed Sailor Guardians. It was impressive, but Princess Luna could see that it was doing little to affect their opponent. But it was distracting the evil being. "Flash, I need your help," she requested urgently. "What do you need, princess?" asked Flash dutifully. "We need to pierce into Metalia!" declared Luna, pointing towards the monster's chest. Flash was shocked but understood quickly that the princess was serious in her demand. "I know a technique for that, the 'Sleipnir Spear.'" he stated readily. Luna nodded before pointing towards Metalia's chest. "Aim for our weapon at her chest!" "Got it!" By Flash Sentry's lead, Luna followed the Pegasus higher into the sky. Once they reached a proper height and angle, the ponies took each other's hooves, and Flash began to spin them around. The revolutions increased quickly until it was like they were an orange and dark blue mini-tornado. At the height of their tremendous momentum, they were ready to make their strike. "Here we go!!" shouted Flash. The Pegasus stallion then threw Princess Luna with all might he could summon and with the force they acquired for this moment. He was not worried about the potential damage due to the high velocity on the small Alicorn. The Earth and Pegasus pony combined physique could handle it. Luna knew this as well and held no fear as she plunged straight for Metalia. In only a second, the princess hit her weapon by her hoof and punctured the body sharply. Metalia felt the attack. "Gah!" she roared out in pain. None of the La Luna forces understood why but many among them began cheering as if they were achieving victory. It was invigorating for the city defenders. Flash certainly was not going to say anything if it kept the ponies' spirit high. He knew they would need it until the princess could do whatever she was about to do. "Good luck, Princess Luna." Meanwhile, inside the swirling mass of evil miasma, Princess Luna was struggling. She was in a difficult position as she tried moving through the body. It was like swimming in syrup for the Alicorn, and its stickiness was acting like needles jabbing into every pore. Worst of all, she was unable to properly breathe within this mass. Any average pony would likely fall to it, but Luna knew she was beyond average. Her goal was only a short distance, and she could bear the pain to reach it. One hoof swing before another and even using her wings, Luna pushed forward with all her strength towards the object deep in the mist. A crystal of translucent white that was dimly shining through the dark purple material. The Alicorn could see something within it, none other than Sailor Moon and her love. It appeared that both, despite having received fatal stabbings, were alive and seemingly well inside the crystalline structure. For Princess Luna, it was what she needed to preserve through the hazardous energy to reach them. 'I'm almost there, Usagi…' Finally, with a single hoof, Luna reached the crystal. It took all her strength and stamina just to touch the barrier. There was nothing more she could do, and she felt that her stored air was nearly spent. She achieved her goal, but she could not do a thing as she began to lose consciousness from lack of oxygen. Before she could faint, the Alicorn saw Sailor Moon turn to finally see her. Just as everything went dark for Princess Luna, a flash of light occurred, and fresh air entered her deprived lungs. She breathed heavily to receive as much life-giving oxygen as possible. While doing so, a worried Sailor Moon expressed her shock over the Alicorn's appearance. "Luna! I can't believe you're here?! How?!" After a moment, Luna could finally speak. "We saw this structure within Metalia's foul body, hoping you and young Mamoru were somehow okay." Sailor Moon nodded. "We're both alright, somehow…" "Princess Luna," spoke Tuxedo Mask. "What is going on right now?" "Metalia tried to absorb the Silver Crystal after you both…died. It protected you both, however, but she is taking its power. She's now three times the size of any Sleipnir and about to attack the city, but her citizens and Sir Flash are defending it." The news surprised Tuxedo Mask, but Sailor Moon appeared less so. "Is that where we are? It feels so…cold," she said anxiously. "How will we get out?" asked Tuxedo Mask concernedly. "Do you have a plan, princess?" "We will call upon the Silver Crystal itself to help." Luna, now recovered, looked over at Sailor Moon. As she approached, the mare understood her intention and offered the crystal. Luna appreciated the gesture but surprised the mare by not just taking hold of the gem but keep it within her friend's hoof. As Sailor Moon looked at her, the Alicorn smiled and shook her head. "Not Us, but we, my friend," she told the young mare. "But isn't your crystal?" "It was our gift to Serenity, and it belongs to her and her kin. It should heed your call…" Sailor Moon immediately took Luna's hoof within her own as her expression became more determined. "It'll listen to both of us," she stated. Princess Luna was surprised but smiled and nodded with understanding. Together, both mares cupped the Silver Crystal caringly. A reaction began, and the gem started shining as if reacting to the mares' thoughts. It grew brighter by the passing second, and its illumination engulfed the two ponies. Tuxedo Mask watched on, amazed as the light grew to surround him too. The whole crystal structure followed and pierced through the dark miasma. As Metalia was about to enter the city, its defenders pushed back. She began to sense a change within her body. She stopped her advance and looked down at her chest. "This energy…!" roared the malicious mare. "The Silver Crystal is producing even more than before!" "Unlimited…Power!" The evil being felt invincible as her body surged with the energy and grew larger. Her form even became more sinister and threatening. Suddenly, a piercing white light shot through the ginormous monster. It surprised Metalia before she began letting out a roar in pain. "What?!" More beams began bursting through her body from the center. Each time sending forcing a scream. Many of them destroying the dark clouds above as well. "What is going on?!" The fleeing defenders looked back when they heard the confounded cry of their attacker. Everyone watched as, from the first beam produced, something was floating through from the body. It left and revealed a crystal structure, the same one that contained Luna, Sailor Moon, and Tuxedo Mask. Once it removed itself, the light penetrating through Metalia's body rescinded and retreated to its source. With the last of its energy now back, the prism disappeared, and three spheres – one small in the middle of two much bigger – composed of that same power took its place. At the same time, Tuxedo Mask was floated down until reaching the ground safely. He immediately looked back up as he witnessed the phenomenon occurring now. Everyone was watching. "What is happening?" asked Luna (cat) in amazement. Within each of the two large spheres of light, both Luna and Sailor Moon were undergoing a transformation. Sailor Moon's costume became more colorful, starting at her skirt, now adding a yellow and red layer of frills atop her standard blue. Two pink ribbons formed behind her as a pair of luminous white wings sprouted from her back. Her tiara vanished away, revealing the yellow crescent moon birthmark of the Moon Kingdom. From the bay of this symbol, a horn formed from base to point, appearing translucent, much like wings. The once average Earth pony now seemed like a regal Alicorn – in a sailor uniform. Concurrently, Princess Luna's change was far more physical than the one her friend undergoing. It began with a change in her coat as her once grayish phthalo blue blackened to become dark blue. Her body grew as well but only becoming slightly more adult than her previous form. The most drastic alteration came from the mare's mane and tail. Like the sun setting against the azure sky, it simulated the aspect similarly to become like the night. A moderate sapphire blue with an outline of greyish Persian blue began flowing magically as if it were stroked by the wind. The little Alicorn that once lost everything had finally regained her true self. Finally, the light encasing the mares suddenly scattered like petals and revealed their new appearance. The only light left was of that produced by the Silver Crystal itself remaining in between them. Every pony gasped in amazement and awe of the sight. Like snow falling, the flakes began falling and landing upon the many citizens of La Luna. It influenced many ponies, especially the Sailor Guardians, who awoke from unconsciousness. "What's happening?" asked Sailor Mercury. Luna (cat) quickly explained, "It's Sailor Moon and the princess! They're…!" Metalia, on the other hand, was horrified. "This cannot be! The Silver Crystal belongs to me!" Princess Luna replied nobly, "You're finished, Queen Metalia! You shall pay for all the atrocities you have committed towards the Moon Kingdom, Equestria, and the whole world!" "In the name of the moon and Equestria," announced Sailor Moon while posing. "You will be punished!" Growling, Metalia let out a roar in defiance. "I will destroy you all!" She then opened her maw wide and began collecting within into a sphere. It was growing larger by the passing second. Neither Princess Luna nor Sailor Moon panicked at the sight. A quick nod of affirmation between the two before acting together. Sailor Moon immediately brought out the Moon Stick, and Luna summoned the Death Scythe Baku back to her. The young mare's wand extended to become a staff, and the Alicorn's blade grew and enlarged. Now ready, the two mares prepared their attacks as Metalia finished charging her own. "DIE!" Metalia then fired her massive sphere of condensed evil magic towards the two tiny ponies. Acting first, Luna swung her scythe back. "Waxing Slice!" the Alicorn shouted before turning her weapon towards Metalia and launching a large blade of magical energy. Sailor Moon followed her. She moved staff in a complete circle as she announced her own attack, "Moon Healing Escalation!" Once completing the loop, it filled with magical light and fired forward behind Luna's attack. The attacks hurdled through the air towards each other. Luna's Waxing Slice reached the massive sphere of evil magic first and immediately sliced through it with ease. As the wave sailed further without rest, Sailor Moon technique struck the separated halves next. The circle magic enveloped both sides and turned entirely into positive energy, absorbing it all. It then continued behind the other attack and gaining fast. "Impossible!" shouted Metalia in shock. "Now!" shouted Princess Luna and Sailor Moon together. They then joined to form a pose next to each other with their hooves pointed at their enemy. "Together!" Syncing with their casters, the two attacks began to change. The Moon Healing Escalation reached the Waxing Slice, joining with it from the latter's bay. Once it did, the techniques combined and reformed to become a brilliant white energy ball, looking like a full moon. Together, the combined move continued to its intended target: Metalia. "No!" Seeing the princess, Flash Sentry cheered out, "Go, Princess!" The Sailor Guardians saw what was to come, and they shouted along with the lunar cats, "Finish it!" "Do it, Sailor Moon," said Tuxedo Mask confidently. Princess Luna announced, "Full Moon…" Sailor Moon followed next, "Sparkling…" "Reverie!" the two mares shouted together. Nothing could stop the attack as it finally hit Metalia. Like with her technique, the Full Moon Sparkling Finale was absorbing all the negative and evil magical energy. It then converted it into its own power, making it grow larger. Metalia attempted to escape, but the pull of the light technique made it impossible. She continued to struggle, despite this fact. Her body's front part was soon gone, followed by the back, and leaving the neck and head left. It was clear that Metalia's fate was sealed. "No! No! NOOOOO!" Finally, everything that was once the evil queen Metalia was absorbed into the technique. Once all the negative energy was gone, the sphere of light shot up into the sky. Everyone watched as it climbed so high that it became like the moon itself. It then dispersed, becoming like twinkling stars before disappearing entirely. Every pony watched the scene in awe. The next moment, the defenders realized that the evil about to attack the city was now destroyed. A cheer erupted from all the ponies that were soon joined by the citizens who were watching. The Sailor Guardians were overjoyed that the monster that once killed them in their past lives was, at last, vanquished. After a quick hug with each other and the lunar cats, they got up and rushed over to Sailor Moon and Princess Luna, who were floating back down with the Silver Crystal. Once on the ground, Sailor Moon's appearance changed back to normal. Luna remained as she was now, which came as a surprise when she finally noticed herself. Before the Alicorn could say a word, Sailor Moon suddenly engulfed her in a joyous hug to celebrate their victory. It amazed the young Earth pony when her friend returned the gesture. Neither one expected all the Sailor Guardians and the lunar cats to join them, making Luna happy to see they were okay. They all shared in their success. Nearby, Tuxedo Mask watched on contently soon joined by Flash Sentry, both looking proud. No pony noticed the large troop of ponies off to the side. They were Yelan Li's group that went after the changelings. It was only a few moments ago when they arrived about to join the fight. The leader herself stood out in front, along with Cadance and Tau. Then, a pony descended from above, catching every pony's attention. It was none other than Princess Celestia, who looked confused. "Hello, everypony," spoke the sun princess with great intrigue. "Did I miss anything?" À Conclure > Final Act > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the west coast of the Kingdom of Equestria lies the metropolis La Luna, "the City of the Ponies formerly of the Moon." It was not the most notable location in all the kingdom, but it was a lovely home for many of its citizens. Recently, however, it seemed to have gained some fame from the events that transpired here. Most notably, a particular group that protected the justice and peace. The group – the Sailor Guardians – were at their usual hangout, Game Center Crown. The evening was approaching, but none of the girls realized this yet. As regular civilians, they were all inside and spectating while their friends were in heated competition against each other. It was Usagi and Princess Luna, the latter disguised in an outfit to hide her wings. They were playing a Sailor V fighting arcade game. Both mares were at a console using their avatars to fight. Usagi looked to be having an easy time, but Luna appeared to be growing frustrated by the passing second. Soon, a winner was declared, which sent the young Earth pony in a cheer. "I win!" Luna immediately banged on the plastic. "Sard!" she cursed out in defeat. The Alicorn in disguise then spoke to her friend indignantly, "Be still thy cocky attitude, young Usagi! We have only just adapted to this game's mechanics! Our duel is not final until twice more times your avatar slays mine!" Immediately, most of the girls laughed, entertained by Luna's frustration over a game. Rei was the only one not laughing but looking a bit peeved. "And you guys say my speech sounds old…" Some pony then approached from behind Luna. "Mind your language, sister. Just because its old doesn't mean that it is no longer improper," spoke Celestia, also disguised. The young mares gasped. "Princess Celestia!" "Sister!" spoke Luna immediately. "We must acquire one of these 'arcades' for the castle in Canterlot. These 'video games' are entertaining." Celestia chuckled before answering. "I'll see to it that we attract a business pony who may have that interest then." Then, Celestia took notice of the time. She solemnly informed her sister, "We must be going now, sister. Our train leaves soon…" Frowns replaced the joyful smiles the group was sharing upon hearing the sun princess. The fun was over, but Usagi asked if they could stay with Princess Luna until they left. Celestia agreed, having expected this notion. Together, the group left the game center. Outside, they were joined by Luna (cat) and Artemis. As they journeyed to the train station together, Celestia gave her sister and friends space to discuss everything they could in these last moments together. It was quiet at first, but eventually, the ice broke. "I'm going to miss you, Luna," said Usagi sadly. "Its gonna feel a bit lonely with you gone." "Yeah," agreed Makoto solemnly. Luna (pony) smiled sadly. "Indeed. We might actually be starting to miss our gatherings at school." Ami stated, "We've done so much together, both as students and as Sailor Guardians…" "Speaking of," spoke Rei, who was looking around. "We've certainly become popular as of late." "I know! Isn't it great?" said Minako happily. On the street that the group was traveling on, what Rei was referring to was all the buildings' advertisements. Signs were on nearly every available space, and all it was showcasing none other than the Sailor Guardians. Each one was featured on several posters with many more of the group together. "I, like, could totally get used to this," Minako said giddily. "Well, you probably shouldn't," stated Luna (cat) promptly. "Seeing that our enemies are defeated, it's unlikely that Sailor Moon or any of you will need to show off again." "Oh yeah," realized Makoto. "We've done our job as Sailor Guardians. What do we do now?" Artemis answered positively, "I think living as young mares do sounds good to me." Minako let out a whine in disapproval. "But, I liked fighting for justice." "You've probably been doing this for too long," commented Artemis tiredly. Luna (pony) then spoke, "While it will be your choice in the end, We do believe that the Sailor Guardians will always be needed in Equestria." "What do you mean?" asked Ami. "There are still many threats, both within and outside of Equestria. Someone will need to protect this city from either or both should the time arise. I trust no one better than Sailor Moon and the Sailor Guardians to do that." "Aww!" said Usagi happily before pouncing on the princess and giving her a hug. "Thanks, Luna! We'll do our best." The Alicorn princess smiled back. "Thank you, Usagi." "It's good to know we have a princess of Equestria on our side," Rei stated securely. "But honestly, I hope we won't have to deal with anything for quite some…" Having tempted fate, a monstrous roar echoed through the city. The group, and everyone around them, froze where they stood, frightened or confused by the unearthly sound. All the mares looked to each other with concern and worry. No sooner after, sirens called off as to alert the citizens of impending danger. Most could be heard in the distance; however, there was one growing louder as it got closer to them. A police carriage soon appeared from around the corner, its red and blue lights flashing brightly. It passed them before suddenly stopping only a few feet away. A head popped out of the side to reveal Shiefa Li in uniform. "Hey!" the lady officer called out to the group. "A red lizard monster just entered town! I don't think we're gonna be enough to herd it out!" "Do you think you can help out?" Rei was surprised, like all her friends. "You think we can help?" she asked. "Of course! You guys are the city's heroes and protectors!" Despite the advertisement, none of the girls had figured on them being real heroes for the city. They were unsure whether to accept or decline, but they soon remembered Princess Luna's encouraging words before. Though the Dark Kingdom and Metalia were gone, there was still more they could do. Monster attacks sound like the right place to start. Of course, that also meant their time with Princess Luna would be cut short. Now, the Sailor Guardians were not sure to accept for that reason. "We believe you should go," Princess Luna advised thoughtfully with a proud smile. The Alicorn then brought out an orb she was hiding on her person. Her magic aura floated the object to Usagi, who took it. Luna (pony) then explained, "Once you all have succeeded in your task, contact us later and tell us how it all transpired." Usagi, like the others, was astounded by the gift. "Thanks, Luna!" she told her friend happily. "Now, go! Defend the city, Sailor Guardians!" announced Princess Luna proudly. [Music cue: "Moonlight Densetsu" sung by Amalee] The group agreed but did not take off just yet. All of them hugged Princess Luna as one big group with both Luna (cat) and Artemis joining in as well. It was a surprise for the princess, but it was welcomed as the last farewell. After an extended moment, the entire group broke away, and the Sailor Guardians and their companions took off towards the threat. Shiefa soon left as well to provide backup. All the while, Celestia had watched on with intrigue. She soon joined by her sister's side after the group left and glanced to see how she handled the situation. A bittersweet smile was displayed as the short dark blue Alicorn kept her eyes on the direction her friends went. It surprised Celestia, and it made her happy too. "Don't worry, Luna. You will see your friends again." Why can't I tell you all of these feelings It's so much easier when I'm dreaming Though melancholic, Luna's mood changed as she reminded herself of the many promises made with her friends. "You are right, sister," she said. "Let us head to the train station." I think my brain's about to short circuit I really wish I could find the words Sometime later, Princess Celestia and Luna arrived at the train station, still disguised. It was not a busy time as there were few ponies about or trains. Those that were here, however, were so not to board but to see off the princesses. Yelan and some of her family and a few retainers representing the Li Family were those present. Also, Flash Sentry is standing by the car like a guard despite not dressed at such. And now I'm crying under the moonlight I wanna call you up, but it's midnight Princess Luna approached Yelan and her group. She gave a respectful bow towards as she stated gratefully, "Thank you for opening your home to us." Yelan, the three Li sisters, and the retainers gave the princess the same courtesy in response. "We were honored to have this opportunity to aid you," said Yelan humbly. What should I do with all of these feelings Like a Kaleidoscopic heart "Please give Princess Cadance our regard as well, and that she recovers soon. Also, please tell her she may expect us to attend her coming nuptials." Luna replied pleasantly, "I will." The light that shines down from the moon Will guide the way And once again, it leads me to you Once finished, the princesses moved to board the train. Celestia was first in, but Luna stopped just before entering to turn to Flash Sentry. Despite having been acting casual with her for months, the young stallion's royal guard training was in top form as he stood still beside making a salute. It was almost too funny for Luna. "Good work, Sir Flash Sentry. You are a credit to the Royal Guard." Flash smiled while remaining poised. "Thank you, Princess Luna." The constellations sparkle in my dreams And so I wonder if it's a blessing Just about to step in, Luna looked back at the platform. A sense of forlorn was already making her miss the city and all its citizens, especially her friends. Usagi, she would miss her most of all. As if by fate we're born on the same planet Just like a miracle romance "Until next time, La Luna," Luna said quietly. She then fully entered the train car. So let us have another great weekend And I will pray it has a happy end The train soon departed at its scheduled time. Flash Sentry had already joined inside. Slowly, the engine created steam to push the wheels forward on the track. A toot of the whistle signaled that this transport was leaving. I'll still be here past, present, and future Head over heels in love with you Inside, Luna joined her sister in the car a section down. Celestia had already picked a spot, but there were plenty of open seats with no other passengers here. The younger Alicorn took a seat opposite from her sister, who did not mind. Flash Sentry took a spot in the back, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. I can't forget the way you looked at me that day When I met you the very first time Princess Luna slid over to the window once in her seat. She immediately began staring out the window, though the view was only inside the station. It changed once they finally left the structure where now the city could be seen. It was not much to see, only the ponies, the streets, and the shops. Within the sea of stars under the night sky I could still find you if I closed my eyes The track soon began ascending, and with it, Luna's view was changing. The streets and ponies fell beneath the edge of her window. It was replaced with the towering buildings with only bits and pieces of space revealing what was behind them. I love the way the world gives us moments That we make our own destiny Moments later, the placement of buildings became more spacious. The princess of the night could soon see much more now. City parks, busy intersections, and the hundreds of ponies going about their day. And everywhere, reminders of her friends could be seen in the many posters scattered throughout the area. Speaking of, meanwhile, Usagi and her group had transformed and were already amid battle. The monster that they were warned about was a large red lizard the size of a small building with oversized front claws. It stomped around, causing destruction and chaos in its path. Along with the police, Sailor Mercury was aiding in the citizens in escaping the area. The others took to distracting the creature to keep them safe. This miracle will always remain a mystery Cause once again, it leads me to you Both Sailor Jupiter and Mars attacked with their lightning and fire blasts, respectively. The strikes hit the monster and forced it back. The constellations sparkle in my dreams And so I wonder if it's a blessing The monster smashed and crashed throughout the area chaotically. It was making the Sailor Guardians' job difficult. Every time, it let out a roar that sounded painful despite not appearing to have taken damage. Something that all the Sailor Guardians picked up on instantly. As if by fate we're born on the same planet Just like a miracle romance Once the citizens were gone, Sailor Mercury immediately joined the battle. Using her hi-tech glasses, she began discerning both the creature and the cause of its rampage. She eventually pinpointed it and informed the others of her discovery. Sailor Moon then gave out her plan. Concurrently, the creature continued to thrash. It was beginning to creep close to elevated rail tracks. It was, currently, when a train was oncoming. The locomotive was already at full power, making stopping difficult if they were to avoid the beast. But this was not any train; it was the same one carrying the princesses. "Hey, look!" Flash shouted as he pointed towards the other side of the train. Both princesses got up as they saw the creature and were shocked. They were about to move to defend the train when Princess Luna soon caught sight of the Sailor Guardians below. She stopped her sister from acting and focused her attention down. As the monster was about to crash into the bridge, it was swiftly protected by Sailor Moon, forming a shield. Luna watched her friend, both amazed and proud. The mare then pushed the creature back before using her signature technique. "Moon Healing Escalation!" With a rotation of her wand, Silver Crystal placed within its golden crescent moon, a powerful light shined upon the monster. Unlike with Metalia, the energy enveloped the beast and did not harm it. The mystical veil healed the creature, and its mood greatly improved. It calmed down and lowered its body to greet the mares who helped it. Sailor Moon breathed out in relief before looking over at the train. As she checked over it, she spotted Luna in one of the cars. "Excellent," Celestia said happily. "They handled that wonderfully." Proud, Luna nodded in silent agreement with her sister. She also felt a bit of inspiration. Without a word, the younger princess teleported to enact her idea. Meanwhile, Sailor Moon informed her friends of her discovery. "Luna is on that train!" she said excitedly. "We should-!" Sailor Venus interrupted Sailor Moon suddenly. "Look!" The group looked up to now see Princess Luna standing at the top of the caboose. She stood with her wings out and horn glowing with the moon acting as her spotlight. The display attracted many of the civilians and police force as well. As the trained continued on a straight and unobstructed path, Princess Luna's voice, thanks to her magic, echoed out for all to hear. "Fighting evil by moonlight Winning love by daylight Never running from a real fight She is the one named Sailor Moon" Luna took a moment to look at her friend, whom she could see, was stunned. The Alicorn smiled and continued singing. "She will never turn her back on a friend She's always there to defend She is the one on who we will depend She is the one named Sailor~…" Then, using her magic again, Luna fired a magical firework high into the sky. She would do these three more times, and each time, a symbol would appear before disappearing for the next one until the last. Each one represented the celestial bodies that each Sailor Guardian, minus Sailor Moon, drew their power from. "Sailor Venus! Sailor Mercury! Sailor Mars! Sailor Jupiter! Her secret powers all so new to her She is the one named Sailor Moon" While the crowd below cheered on, enjoying the song, Sailor Moon and the others flew up in their magical sphere. They reached to where Luna stood, remaining only a few feet away. Immediately, they began to wave their friend off as she was about to leave. Many of them looked like they would cry, especially Sailor Moon, but they were happy to be able to see their dear friend off in the end. "She is the one named Sailor Moon!" Princess Luna returned to the gesture, nearly shedding tears despite being so happy. The Sailor Guardians then stopped as they reached the city limits but continued to wave their friend off into the distance. Neither side noticed that, high on a building, Tuxedo Mask has also arrived. He, like the others, was seeing the princess off, though silently and coolly. Finally, as Luna continued to wave as well, the Alicorn finished her song just before her transport slipped into the night. "She is the one… Sailor Moon!" La Fin
