A human named Spike is destined to stop the world of Pokémon's destruction, by being turned into a Pokémon. He has no memory of his life as a human, only the fact he was a human. Will he achieve his destiny and save this world?

The Beginning of a New Life

It was a pleasant day. A young human could feel a pleasant breeze passing him by. He thought to himself, "Where am I? There's a pleasant breeze... Is this a dream? I hear a voice. I wonder who it is?"

The voice, which was a girl's asked, "Hey... are you ok? Please wake up, hey, wake up."

The human opened his eyes slowly and thought to himself, "Where am I?"

The voice, which belonged to an Aron smiled, "Phew, you're awake! You were passed out here. My name's Suzie, and this is Scar! So, who are you? I've never seen you around here before."

The Nidoran next to her twitched his ears and said, "I don't think we should get involved."

The human told them, "I'm a human, what does it look like?"

Suzie tilted her head in confusion, "You say you're a human? But you look like a normal Totodile in every way."

The human looked at himself in the nearby lake, to see his reflection was that of a Totodile! He thought to himself, "It's true! I've been turned into a Totodile! But why? I don't remember anything..."

Suzie continued to look confused and asked, "You're kind of weird... Your name? What's your name?"

Scar mumbled to himself, "Weird is an understatement Suzie."

The human turned to Suzie and said, "Oh, my name is Spike."

Suzie giggled lightly, "What a funny name, kind of cute though!"

Spike blushed in embarrassment, before hearing somebody shouting for help. A Butterfree flew over and Spike asked, "What's wrong miss?"

The Butterfree, who was teary-eyed said, "It's my baby! He's fallen into a fissure!"

Spike, Suzie, and Scar all looked shocked, and said in union, "What!?"

The Butterfree nodded, "It opened up out of nowhere, and he's too young to crawl out on his own! When I tried to go get my baby, I was attacked by wild Pokémon!"

"You were attacked!? By other Pokémon!?" Suzie was shocked that other Pokémon would attack a mother who was trying to get her child back.

Butterfree continued to sob, "I think they're confused and scared, I understand, but I can't just leave my baby boy in there, and I'm not strong enough to fight! What'll happen to my baby boy!?"

Spike nodded, "I'll go in and find him!"

Suzie agreed, "Me too, I'll help! Let's go Spike!" before the two ran in to help the trapped child.

Scar ran after them saying, "Hey, wait up!"

As they ran into the fissure, Spike couldn't help but think why he was turned into a Totodile, but that didn't matter right now, there was a child trapped in here, scared and alone, he had to help get him out.

Scar looked around the fissure and said, "Watch out, this is one of those Mystery Dungeons. In a Mystery Dungeon, the layout of the dungeon changes every time you enter, no two explorations will ever be the same."

Suzie nodded, "That's more reason to get Caterpie out of here. Spike, why don't you take point?"

Spike nodded back saying, "If that's ok with you, sure." before heading deeper into the dungeon. Soon after entering, they encountered an angry Pidgey, who was obviously still startled by the fissure opening up.

Scar yelled to Spike, "Don't just stand there, use a move!"

Spike growled, "I told you, I'm a human! How am I supposed to know what moves I can use!?"

Suzie yelled at both of them, "Stop fighting, we're here to save Caterpie! Spike, try using Ice Fang, it's super effective against Flying types like Pidgey!"

Spike focused on using Ice Fang before his teeth felt super cold and he jumped at Pidgey, biting it with his frozen fangs. As the Pidgey fainted, the team moved on through the dungeon.

In the depths of the fissure, a Caterpie was huddled up crying, "I'm so scared! Mommy... Where's mommy? I want my mommy!" before seeing Spike, Suzie, and Scar coming toward him and he curled up even more yelling, "N-No! Don't hurt me! Mommy!"

Spike said, "Calm down little guy, we're here to get you out. Your mother's worried sick, and we couldn't just sit and do nothing while a little kid was in danger."

Caterpie sniffled and followed them out of the dungeon, and when they got out, he crawled to Butterfree as fast as he could, "Mommy! It was so scary down there!"

Butterfree cuddled her son, comforting him from the scary experience. She turned to Spike and his friends and said, "Thank you so much for saving my baby. It's not much, but please take this as a token of my gratitude." before handing Spike an Oran Berry, a Pecha Berry, a Rawst Berry, and a Reviver Seed.

Caterpie's eyes had finally stopped watering, and now they were glowing with admiration, "You guys are so cool! I want to be like you when I grow up!"

Scar smiled, "That's a good goal little guy, but for now, just focus on having fun."

Butterfree smiled, "Before I go, may I have your names? I think the three of you would make a fine Rescue Team, so I want to send a letter of recommendation to the Interplanetary Rescue Union."

Scar was shocked when Butterfree told them she was sending a letter of recommendation to the Interplanetary Rescue Union. Being an apprentice at the Rescue Union marked you as true rescuers. Of course, it wasn't required to be an apprentice to form a rescue team, but people hold apprentices of the union in high regard. He answered her saying, "I'm Scar, this is Spike and Suzie."

Butterfree smiled, "Thank you. If I ever need help, I'll know just who to call." before flying off slowly while her son crawled after her.

Spike asked, "Well, it's nice that we saved a scared child, but what's this Interplanetary Rescue Union she was talking about?"

Suzie explained, "This fissure isn't the first natural disaster we've had, in fact, five different worlds, Terra, Green Gate, Ignis, Triton, and Tatooine, they've all been experiencing natural disasters. The Interplanetary Rescue Union was formed to help Pokémon stay safe in the wake of these disasters, and being an apprentice of the Union signifies you as a true Rescue Team!"

Scar nodded, "I think Butterfree is right, we make a good team, so how about it?"

Suzie smiled, "I'm in! What about you Spike?"

Spike thought to himself for a moment, "It's not like I have any memories or ideas on how to get back to being a human. Besides, helping Pokémon in need could be fun." Before nodding saying, "I'm in!"

Scar smiled, but then realized, "We don't even have a team name yet, what do we call ourselves?"

Suzie couldn't come up with an idea and asked Spike, "Do you have any ideas?"

Spike thought for a moment and said, "How about Team Go-Getters?"

Scar thought it over and said, "It's got a nice ring to it. I'm fine with that name."

Suzie nodded her head in agreement, "Me too, from now on, we're Team Go-Getters!"

The three of them put their hands together and cheered, "1, 2, 3, Go-Getters, let's go get 'em!"

After that, Suzie and Scar led Spike to a little house that was vacant. Suzie explained, "We bought this place so we could use it as a base when we were old enough to form a Rescue Team. Since Scar and I have homes, but you don't Spike, you can crash here if you'd like."

Spike smiled, "Thanks you guys. It's getting late, so I'm going to hit the hay for now."

Scar nodded, stretching himself out as he yawned, "Yeah, me too. I'll see you guys in the morning." before heading off

As Suzie left, she yelled to Spike, "Get a good night's sleep Spike, if the Union gets Butterfree's letter, we'll have to go to the union first thing in the morning!"

Spike laid down and fell asleep, but he couldn't stop wondering about why and how he became a Totodile. Either way, he'd made some great friends in Suzie and Scar, and was ready to start tomorrow as a member of a Pokémon Rescue Team.

New Apprentices

Spike was sleeping in the house that Suzie and Scar had given him. As the sun rose, he started to wake up and said, "Man, what a weird dream. Me becoming a Totodile." before getting up and yawning before looking in the water. "Oh crap, that's right, it wasn't a dream, I really am a Totodile. Well, I better go look for Suzie and Scar." before heading out of the front entrance of his new house.

Scar was leaning against Spike's mailbox, nudging the sleeping Suzie with his foot, "Hey, Suzie, wake up, Spike's up."

Suzie jumped awake and looked over to Spike, "Hey Spike, how'd you sleep?"

Spike sighed, "I slept well, until I thought that me being turned into a Pokémon was just a dream. So, what do we do now?"

Scar told Spike, "Well, if Butterfree sent that letter of recommendation, we should check the mail to see if we've been accepted as apprentices." Before walking over to the mailbox and looking at the mail, "Well, there's the newspaper, and a Rescue Team Beginner Kit, but nothing else." He looked over to Suzie and sighed, "Looks like we may not be becoming Union apprentices."

Before Suzie could reply, a Pelipper landed on their mailbox and dropped in some mail. Spike ran over and read it out loud, "Dear Team Go-Getters, Ms. Butterfree spoke highly of your skill while rescuing her son Caterpie from Tiny Woods. It is for this reason we invite you to join the Interplanetary Rescue Union. The Union Headquarters is to the north of Pokémon Square. Please bring this letter with you as proof of your acceptance."

Suzie jumped in joy, "We did it, we're in the Union! Let's go! Pokémon Square is this way!" before running off, Scar and Spike running after her.

As they headed to Pokémon Square, and then north, they saw Whiscash Pond, and to the left and right of the pond were sets of stone staircases leading up to a large building on the cliff behind the pond. Spike was surprised there could be such a big building made by only Pokémon.

Scar spoke, breaking the silence of awe, "Let's go in already!" before running up the stairs with Spike and Suzie behind him.

As they approached the gate of the building, a Bisharp stood in front of the gate, who said, "Halt, who goes there?" When Spike showed the letter to the Bisharp, he smiled, "New recruits eh? Go on ahead, show this letter to the Terra Union Leader, she's in the planetarium up on the second floor. My name is Ezio by the way"

As the team walked up to the second floor, they saw a Gardevoir looking into a high powered telescope. She wrote down some notes, before realizing that Team Go-Getters were there, turning to them and saying, "Oh, hello! You must be the new recruits. My name is Sabrina, I'm the head of the Terra Branch of the Interplanetary Rescue Union. Please, follow me and we'll get you the proper supplies."

As they followed Sabrina, Spike noticed a strange pad, and asked, "Excuse me, what's that pad for?"

Sabrina smiled, "You're a curious one, aren't you? That's the teleport pad. It allows travel between Terra and the other four Core Worlds. However, you won't be allowed to use the teleport pads until you reach Bronze Rank. Right now, your team is at Rookie Rank, so you'll need to get to Normal Rank before Bronze Rank, but I'm sure you can do it if you give it your all."

The continued walking through the hallway up until they came to a door. Sabrina opened it to show all sorts of stuff, but when she grabbed what looked like a Rescue Badge, Scar asked, "Why do we need a Rescue Badge? We got them in our Rescue Team Beginner Kit."

Sabrina nodded, "As do all new Rescue Teams, however, these badges also act as communicators. With them, we can call you if something comes up, and you can communicate with each other should you get separated while you're in a dungeon. Only Union sponsored Rescue Teams are allowed to carry such badges."

As Sabrina handed them the new badges, Spike smiled, he felt as if he had dozens of new friends. He asked, "So, now that we've got the proper supplies, what do we do now?"

Sabrina thought for a minute, "Well, we don't have any high priority jobs you can do here on Terra, perhaps you should go to the Pelipper Post Office and see if there's any missions you can do on the Bulletin Board. You can also look around the HQ if you'd like. We have many facilities for training, and much more. Well, I must be off, I have much work to do in the planetarium." before heading back to the planetarium.

Suzie smiled, "Well, we're official Union Apprentices now, so we should get to work! Let's take a look around the HQ and then we'll go to the Pelipper Post Office." before walking down the hallway, looking around as they did.

The HQ seemed to have everything, from training equipment to training dungeons. Spike saw a bulletin board and walked over to it, seeing posters of Pokémon and said, "Woah! Guys, take a look at these! I think these are wanted posters!"

Scar and Suzie ran over to Spike and the bulletin board, and Scar said, "Damn... I never knew the union went after wanted Pokémon. Do any of these missions look easy enough for us?"

Spike shook his head, "No, these Pokémon are way out of our league. Let's go back to my house, I saw Pelipper heading that way."

Suzie nodded, "Maybe we'll get our first mission as a Rescue Team!"

Now that Team Go-Getters has been inducted into the Interplanetary Rescue Union, they are marked as a true Rescue Team. As a Union Rescue Team, they have standards to meet, and they have the will to become the best Rescue Team ever.

The First Rescue

Spike was up bright and early to check his mailbox. He looked through it to find the daily news, as well as a letter. He waited for Scar and Suzie to show up and read the letter to them, "BZZ BZZ BZZ. I heard about you from Caterpie. My friends need help. A strange electromagnetic wave flowed through a dungeon and stuck Magnemite and Magnemite together. It's not enough to form a Magneton. It's incomplete as it is now. Please, help my friends."

Scar smiled, "Looks like we've got our first real mission! Let's go!" before running towards Thunderwave Cave with Spike and Suzie.

When they got to the dungeon, two Magnemite were hovering outside, one of which said, "Oh, you must be Team Go-Getters. My friends should be at the end of the cave. Please get them out of there."

Spike entered the cave first, followed by his teammates. He was somewhat worried, this dungeon had lots of Electric types, and being a Water type wasn't exactly great for him. As they fought through the Pokémon who were attacking, they moved farther into the dungeon.

When they got to the deepest section of the cave, Scar said, "Look, there they are! Let's get them out of here." before helping the two conjoined Magnemite get out of the dungeon.

When they exited the cave, the Magnemite separated. The two of them cheered, "We're separated! Thank you so much Team Go-Getters!"

Spike smiled, "No problem, it's all part of being a Rescue Team."

One of the Magnemite handed Spike 500 Poké and a Reviver Seed, and then they left, happy that they had been rescued.

Suzie cheered, "Our first mission was a complete success! Come on, let's-"

Suddenly, their badges started beeping. Spike took out his badge and flipped it over to answer the communicator, to which he saw Sabrina, who said, "Team Go-Getters, if you aren't too busy, can you come to the HQ? We have a quarrelsome group of Pokémon who refuse to leave unless they see you in person."

Spike was a little worried about a quarrelsome Pokémon, he figured they might be getting into a fight. He nodded, "We'll be there as soon as we can Sabrina."

Sabrina sighed in relief, "Thank you Spike, please hurry though, I don't like to get violent, but these Pokémon are starting to get on my nerves."

When they returned to the Union HQ, they saw a Gengar, Medicham, and Ekans demanding to be let into the building, only for Ezio and Sabrina to knock them away every time they tried to force their way in. The Gengar looked behind him and said, "They're Team Go-Getters!? They're just a bunch of little kids! If they can be a Union Rescue Team, we'd have no problem!"

Ezio prepared to attack again, "As I told you before, you need a formal invitation to join the Union. Leave the premises or I will have no choice but to alert Sheriff Magnezone.

Gengar growled, "You're gonna regret this!" before walking to be eye to eye with Team Go-Getters and saying, "You Team Go-Getters are no match for Team Meanies! We're going to be the most successful and richest Rescue Team ever!"

Spike growled to him, "I suggest you leave before I get angry."

Gengar laughed, "Yeah right, like you could do anything to beat us!"

Spike sighed, "Guys, you up for this?"

Scar nodded, "You bet I am, nobody insults us like that!"

Suzie growled, "Normally I'm against violence, but they're really pissing me off!"

Spike jumped at Gengar, using Ice Fang, as he did, Gengar yelled, "Wait, what's going-" only for the ice to spread and freeze Gengar solid.

Medicham squealed in terror at her boss being frozen, "Come on Ekans! Let's get Gengar and get out of here!" before the two of them ran off, carrying the frozen Gengar.

As they ran, Scar yelled, "Cowards! Take this, Sludge Bomb!"

As Scar shot out his Sludge Bomb attack, Suzie joined in with Flash Cannon, and the two attacks sent Team Meanies flying, as Medicham and Ekans yelled, "Looks like we're blasting off again!"

Spike yelled after them, "And don't come back you no good punks!"

Sabrina smiled as she walked up to them and said, "Good job chasing those three off. I doubt they got the message though. I'd be careful if you run into them again. I could sense malice in their hearts, they're not a true Rescue Team. Rescue Teams help Pokémon to keep the peace, not for profit or power, those three don't know what it means to be a true Rescue Team."

Ezio spoke up, "Sabrina, if you don't mind, they were able to chase away fully evolved Pokémon with little effort. Perhaps they're ready to be appointed Normal Rank."

Sabrina thought for a moment and nodded, "I believe you're right Ezio." before looking to Team Go-Getters and saying, "I'm quite surprised by your strength. It's possible that you three are Combat Species, individuals that show greater strength than other Pokémon of their species. If that's the case, you're more than ready to be Normal Rank." before giving them a new set of badges.

Spike smiled, "This is awesome! We're not Rookies anymore!"

Scar chuckled, "Those Team Meanies better think twice before challenging us again!"

Suzie nodded, "Yeah!"

Sabrina giggled, "Well, since you're a Normal Rank team now, you'll be able to use the Makuhita Dojo on the first floor of the building. I'll let Makuhita know you're cleared for training in the Dojo. You three should head home and get some rest, I should have a special mission for you by tomorrow."

Ezio nodded, "Good luck tomorrow you three, Sabrina is... imaginative... when it comes to coming up with special missions."

Sabrina slapped Ezio from behind and said, "Ignore him, I'll see you tomorrow."

Spike chuckled before he, Scar, and Suzie headed home for the night.

While Spike slept, he was dreaming, and he heard a faint voice, but he couldn't make it out, and fell back into a deep sleep.

Back at the Union HQ...

Sabrina was looking at the night sky through the planetarium's telescope and sighed, "Still nothing yet... How long will I have to wait until the Millennium Comet passes? If my records are right, it's been 1000 years since the last passing, so it should be visible by now. I need to analyze the comet's trajectory to see if Xatu's prediction has any truth to it..."

AMBER Alert

As Spike woke up in the morning, he wondered, "I know I had some sort of dream... but I can't remember anything about it. Oh well, I better check the mail." before heading out to see the only thing in his mailbox was the newspaper.

As Scar and Suzie showed up, Suzie said, "Hey, you're up early. Is there any mail?"

Spike shook his head, "Just the daily paper. Besides, Sabrina said to report to her this morning, remember?"

Scar nodded, "Yeah, Spike's right, let's get going." before the group walked over to the Union HQ to see Ezio knocked out on the ground in front of the gate.

Spike ran to Ezio and shook him, "Ezio, wake up! Are you ok!?"

As Ezio came around, he groaned in pain, "It's Team Meanies, they came back..."

The team's eyes all widened and Suzie confusedly asked, "How could they beat you!? We beat them, and you're much stronger than us!"

Ezio tried to stand up, but couldn't, "This battle is too much for you. Gengar… He got a Mega Stone..."

Scar's eyes widened even more, "Mega Stone!? Where did those thugs get a Mega Stone!? There's no way we're strong enough to beat a Mega Gengar!"

Spike had heard about Mega Evolution, but he knew very little about it because of his memory loss. He growled and said, "We can't just let them do as they please! Let's get them!"

Before they could enter, Gengar, Medicham, and Ekans were sent flying out the front gate, and Gengar reverted from Mega Gengar back to Gengar. Sabrina walked out as a Mega Gardevoir and walked over to Team Meanies, taking the Key Stone and Gengarite from Gengar. As she walked back towards the gate, she turned back into a normal Gardevoir and said to Team Go-Getters, "I appreciate that you wanted to help, but if Ezio couldn't beat them, they would have made short work of you. Can you take Ezio to the infirmary and come see me afterwards?"

Spike nodded, "Of course Sabrina, no problem." before the three of them helped Bisharp get back on his feet led him to the infirmary. After they made Ezio was being treated, they headed to meet Sabrina.

When they returned, Sabrina told them, "Thank you for taking care of my husband. He's very stubborn, and he has a lot of pride, so it was inevitable that he would try to fight Gengar, even though he'd Mega Evolved. Now, I suppose I should tell you about the mission I have for you. Now, I'm sure you know about the earthquakes we've been having lately. During one of those earthquakes, a Pokémon named Skarmory kidnapped a child who he blames for the earthquakes. He doesn't understand it would take much more than a family of Diglett and Dugtrio tunneling to cause earthquakes. Diglett's father Dugtrio has asked me to send a team to help rescue his son. Are you up for it?"

Spike was angered that somebody would kidnap a little kid, and nodded, "Of course, we'll get Diglett home safe and sound."

Sabrina smiled, "Thank you. I suggest you get some items from our storage before you go. We keep Union Teams supplied with all sorts of items that can help you during rescues. You'll need some Oran Berries and Reviver Seeds, those are two of the most important items a Rescue Team needs. Help yourself to anything you might need."

Spike and the team nodded before heading down to the storage lockers. They grabbed some Oran Berries, Apples, Reviver Seeds, and were about to head out before Suzie spoke, "Wait, Skarmory is a Steel and Flying type, we should try to find some TMs that can help us, especially you Scar, your strongest move is Sludge Bomb, it won't do anything against a Steel type like Skarmory."

Scar sighed, "You're right, let's look around." before looking at the TMs. He found two TMs he thought might help, "Which do you guys think would be best, Shadow Claw or Thunderbolt?"

Spike thought for a moment, "Both of them could come in handy, Shadow Claw is a Ghost type move, that could help you if we ever face Psychic types. I think it'd be best to learn both of them."

Scar nodded before using both TMs to learn Shadow Claw and Thunderbolt. When the TMs were no longer functioning, he put them in a box that said 'Used TMs' before saying, "Do you think either of you should learn some new moves?"

Spike thought for a minute, before picking up a TM for Rock Slide and using it on himself before saying, "What about you Suzie?"

Suzie nodded, "I think Aerial Ace would be good for me." before using the TM. "Let's go!"

When they arrived at Mt. Steel, Dugtrio appeared in front of them and told them, "Do be careful! Skarmory is a strong ruffian! The summit is the ninth floor up. Good luck!" before going back underground.

As the team started to scale the mountain, they noticed some wild Pokémon eyeing them with a sparkle in their eyes, but they couldn't understand why.

When they got to the summit, Scar saw Diglett and said, "Look, there he is! Don't worry Diglett, we'll get you out of here!"

Skarmory landed in front of the team and said, "What are you doing here!?"

Spike growled, "We're here to rescue Diglett! Skarmory, don't do this, release Diglett!"

Skarmory scoffed, "It's their own fault! I haven't slept in a week because of the earthquakes! It's this brat and his family who've been causing all of them!"

Suzie shook her head, "That's not true. Well, it's true we've had bad earthquakes, but it would take much more than Diglett's family running wild underground to cause them."

Skarmory squawked at them, "Quiet! You'll have to get past me if you want to save that little brat!" before flying towards them.

Spike jumped out of the way before using Rock Slide, causing stalactites to fall on top of Skarmory. When Skarmory was trying to get out of the rubble, Scar shocked him with Thunderbolt, causing the rocks to shatter, although Skarmory had obviously had enough, and flew off.

Spike walked over to the edge of the cliff and looked down the chasm separating them from Diglett, "I don't think we can cross this, and Diglett looks too scared to move... What now?" Suddenly, two Magnemite floated down near Diglett, to which Spike was surprised and said, "Hey, you're the Magnemite we helped out!"

One of them said, "We heard about this, we can rescue Diglett from the sky." before the two of them started lifting Diglett out of the dungeon and meeting Team Go-Getters back at the Union HQ.

After Dugtrio had been reunited with his son, he thanked Team Go-Getters and the Magnemite. After he gave the Rescue Team their reward, the Magnemite said, "Well, I suppose we should be going."

Before they could leave, Suzie said, "Wait! We couldn't have done this mission without you. We could use more help, so... would you like to join Team Go-Getters?"

Scar nodded, "I agree, you'd be a valuable asset to us. What about you Spike?"

Spike nodded, "I'm all for it."

One of the Magnemite seemed happy, saying, "That sounds fun! But... if you need to get me for rescues, I'll need somewhere close by to live. Do you have a place like that?"

Spike looked disappointed as he said, "Well... no, we don't..."

Magnemite also looked disappointed and said, "Well, in that case, I can't join you. Sorry." before heading off.

Suzie sighed, "Well, we'll need to find a place where new members can stay. I heard there's a new shop opening, Wigglytuff's Circle of Friends. We should head there tomorrow and see if Wigglytuff can help us."

And so with the rescue of Diglett, Team Go-Getters realizes they need places for team members to stay, and in the morning, they'll be heading to Wigglytuff's Circle of Friends to see if they can get some Friend Areas.

New Friends and New Idols

As Spike woke up, he felt as if he had another vague dream, but didn't worry about it. He headed out of his house to meet with Scar and Suzie, "So, we're heading to Pokémon Square to meet with Wigglytuff, right?"

Scar nodded, "Yeah, his shop is right next to Persian's bank. He should have opened up by now."

As the team headed into Pokémon Square, they headed past Felicity Bank and talked to Wigglytuff, who said, "Welcome friendly friends! Friends are my treasure, Wigglytuff's Circle of Friends! Oh? You're new, you must have just formed a Rescue Team! Well, in that case, as a gift, I'll give you two Friend Areas, free of charge!" Wigglytuff spun around in a circle singing, "Let's be friends, let's be friends, YOOM-TAH!" before stopping, "Now you can befriend Pokémon from the Wild Plains and Mist-Rise Forest. When you're in a dungeon, you may find Pokémon who gain your respect and want to join your team. A team can have a maximum of 8 team members at one time. If you recruit new members when you have too many members, you'll have to send a member back home."

Suddenly, the two Magnemite from the other day came over, and one said, "If you're giving away Friend Areas, can you give my friends the Power Plant Friend Area?" It looked over to Team Go-Getters and said, "I'm sorry I rejected your offer the other day, but after mulling it over, I couldn't help but decide to join. I hope you'll still accept me."

Spike smiled, "Of course! After all, we asked you to join us!"

Wigglytuff nodded before doing the same little dance and saying, "That's all the giveaways for now, if you want more Friend Areas, you'll need to buy them from me. Have a nice day Team Go-Getters!"

As they decided on what to do next, Magnemite, who introduced itself as Magnus, noticed something going on in the square and called over, "Hey, come see this you guys!"

Spike, Suzie, and Scar walked over and saw a Jumpluff begging a Shiftry for help. The Shiftry said, "Forget it, we're not going to work for that."

Spike asked a Lombre, "Hey, what's going on?"

Lombre looked to Spike and said, "Jumpluff's friend got stuck between some rocks, and she needs a gust of wind to get out. She's asking Shiftry for help, but Shiftry's team is greedy and lazy, they don't work unless they're paid royally. I feel bad for Jumpluff. I may not be a rescuer, but if it were me, I'd help Jumpluff simply to help."

Spike glared at Shiftry, but before he could do anything else, a voice said, "Hey, rather cold-hearted aren't you?" before everyone's attention turned to an Alakazam who was accompanied by a Charizard and Tyranitar. The Alakazam said, "To help Jumpluff's friend, a strong wind is needed. Your leafy fans can whip up powerful winds. Help that Pokémon out."

Shiftry looked around, not wanting to make a scene, he said, "Tch! Fine, we'll do it!" before running off with his team.

Scar asked Lombre, "Hey, who are those guys?"

Lombre was shocked by the question, "You don't know? That's Team A.C.T! They're famous for being Gold Rank, not a lot of Teams have that rank around here. Alakazam has an IQ of over 5,000, he's memorized everything that's happened in the world. Charizard's Flamethrower is hot enough to melt mountains. And Tyranitar prides himself on his strong armor plating."

As Alakazam passed by Team Go-Getters, he stopped for a moment before looking back at Spike. Charizard asked, "What's wrong Alakazam?"

Alakazam stayed silent for a moment before saying, "Nothing, let's go." before the team headed north to the Union HQ.

Spike's eyes were gleaming with awe, "Come on you guys, if we put our minds to it, we can be as great as Team A.C.T!"

Meanwhile, Gengar was watching them from afar and grumbled, "Those babies think they can be as great as Team A.C.T? Yeah right!" before meeting up with Medicham and Ekans to talk about their next scheme.

The Next Morning...

Spike woke up early in the morning to see if there was any mail, which there was, there were two missions and the daily paper, which had a coupon for a new service at Makuhita's Dojo.

When Scar and Suzie arrived, Spike showed them the coupon and Scar said, "I heard about that new service, something called the Room of Spirit and Time. I don't know much else about it though."

Spike looked at the coupon and asked, "Should we go after we go see if Sabrina needs anything from us?"

Suzie nodded, "I agree, let's go check out the mission board at the HQ, we could use some new missions, and maybe training at this so called Room of Spirit and Time could help us get stronger. I bet all sorts of Teams would train there if they want to keep strong."

As they walked towards the Union HQ, Spike wondered about what happened yesterday when Alakazam seemed to be studying him. He thought to himself, "Does Alakazam know something about me? I'd ask, but... he's kind of intimidating to be honest."

And so, with their newest member Magnus on the team, Team Go-Getters can start recruiting new members. They've also met Team A.C.T, and aspire to be a strong team like them. But with Gengar's meddling annoying them at every turn, will they be able to?

Off to Green Gate

It had been a slow day for Spike and Team Go-Getters, no new rescues that were of their skill level. As they headed to the Union HQ, Ezio stopped them in front of the gate and said, "Sabrina wants to talk to you kids. You've been doing so well that she has a special assignment for you on Green Gate."

Spike tilted his head, "Green Gate? What's that?"

Ezio smirked, "You'll see soon enough, go find Sabrina, she should be in the planetarium like she usually is."

Spike nodded and they headed up to the planetarium to find Sabrina, who said, "Oh, you're here. Good. Ezio probably told you, I'm sending you on a mission to Green Gate. Green Gate is one of the five planets that make up the Core Worlds. For years, we were cut off from all four of the other planets, but not too long ago, Alakazam from Team A.C.T, along with Xatu and myself were able to create the Teleport Pads that link the worlds. Follow me."

As Sabrina led them to the Teleport Pad, she said, "Let me see your Rescue Team Badge for a moment." before Spike gave it to her, and she put it in a slot.

A computerized voice said, "Team Go-Getters recognized. Green Gate transport authorized."

Sabrina smiled, "Good, you can go to Green Gate now. Step on the pad and you'll arrive at the Union's Green Gate HQ. Talk to Gene when you get there, he's the leader of the Union's Green Gate Branch. You can't miss him, he stands out in a crowd. He'll tell you more about your mission on Green Gate."

Spike stepped on the pad, followed by Suzie and Scar, and they arrived at a new building, which had a lot of natural light. As they arrived, Suzie smiled, "So this is the Green Gate HQ? Very natural, I like it."

A Grovyle saw the team arrive and said to them, "You must be Team Go-Getters. If you're looking for Gene... well, he went out. He probably won't be back until dark. Honestly I never understood why he's always like this. 10 years working here, you'd think I'd get used to his concerts, but he never changes."

Spike tilted his head, "Concerts? As in, music?"

The Grovyle nodded, "Gene may work for the Rescue Union, but his musical career seems to be more important to him. He's out in the Great Forest playing another concert. You could go see him, but he probably won't do anything to help until his concert's over."

Spike sighed, "Well, that stinks... should I call Sabrina on our communicators?"

Grovyle shook his head, "No, even with Gene at his concert, I was briefed about your mission, I'm second in command here on Green Gate, and I take most of Gene's responsibilities when he's at a concert."

Spike nodded and followed Grovyle to a room with a giant tree growing up through the ceiling. "So, what's our mission?"

Grovyle spoke, "We got a report of a mysterious energy coming from the Lost Woods. Normally that dungeon is so confusing, people always wind up back at the entrance very quickly. We want you to investigate that energy, and find out the source of it."

Spike nodded, "Yes sir!" before the team ran out of the building.

As they walked towards the Lost Woods, Scar wondered, "What do you think this energy is?"

Suzie shrugged, "No clue, could be anything with all these disasters. Heck, it could be a legendary Pokémon waking from its sleep. I sure hope that's not the case though."

Scar shuddered at the thought of facing a legendary. "You and me both sister."

As they approached the entrance to the Lost Woods, Spike asked, "Do you hear that? It sounds like music..."

Scar nodded, "I hear it too, but it can't be Gene, Grovyle said he was in the Great Forest. Should we follow the music?"

Spike nodded, "That's a good idea." before leading his team into the woods, following the direction of the music.

As the music got louder, they noticed a strange cave, where the music echoed out of. Suzie gulped, "This is kind of creepy... But we better go in." before walking in

As they walked in, they felt a strange surge going through their bodies before the music suddenly stopped. They heard a roar, and as they followed it, they saw a massive Pokémon, and Spike said, "What the heck is that!?"

Scar gulped "I-It's a Gigantamax Vespiquen! How can we fight that thing!?"

Suddenly, Spike felt a strange sensation, and he grew to match the Vespiquen in size, with Scar and Suzie's eyes widening, and Suzie said, "Spike, you Dynamaxed! You might have a shot at beating that Vespiquen! Let's do this!"

As the Vespiquen charged up an attack, Spike used Max Hailstorm, a move that did a lot of damage to it. Vespiquen slashed as Spike, but he spun around, hitting her with his tail. He used his new Rock Slide move as Max Rockfall, knocking out Vespiquen and returning her to normal.

When the Vespiquen returned to normal, so did Spike, and she came up to them, "My apologies, that energy made me lose control. I'd be honored to be friends with a team as strong as you if you'll allow me."

Spike nodded, "Great to have you!"

After heading back, Gene was back, and the Obstagoon was playing air guitar for a moment before saying, "Rockin' lil' dudes! Thanks for check out that weird flow!"

Spike could understand why Gene was a musician, he certainly looked the part, but said, "No problem, it's what we were sent to do. It's getting late, do you have a room we can stay in for the night?"

Before Gene could say anything, Grovyle spoke, "Of course, follow me." before walking off with Team Go-Getters following him, "Believe me, I wonder how Gene got this job too, he's more musician than rescuer, but in a battle, he's somebody you can trust with your life."

As Grovyle led them to a room, Spike yawned and thanked him before laying down in one of the straw beds in the room before Suzie and Scar followed suit.
