> Journals of the Council of Friendship > by AleximusPrime > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Twilight Sparkle > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, dear reader. My name is Twilight Sparkle. At this current point in time, I can now refer to myself as “her royal majesty” Princess Twilight Sparkle since I was just recently crowned the leader of Equestria, but for now, I will address myself more causally as Twilight. I am writing this journal to document the important events of my life, starting after my coronation. My best friends who have helped me on my journey may be adding their own entries as well. If you are curious to know the details of what our lives were like beforehoof, I would highly recommend picking up a copy of the “Journal of Friendship” in any bookstore. Here is a short summary of my life up until now: I started out as a regular unicorn living in Canterlot with little to no friends. I was reclusive and constantly up to my eyeballs in my studies. That all changed when I discovered that friendship is magic and I defeated a powerful foe with the help of five ponies I had just met. Ever since then, the six of us have all been on amazing adventures, learning lessons in friendship and defeating even more adversaries that sought to bring Equestria to its knees. I became an alicorn at one point when I passed an unexpected test of friendship and grew wings. Several years later, my predecessors, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, retired from their positions as the leaders, and passed the crown to me. We had a few issues before this event such as Canterlot being under full-scale attack by three powerful villains, Lord Tirek, Queen Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow or the “Trio” as some call them. I am pleased to report that they have been taken care of and are currently petrified in stone in the Canterlot Garden. I will continue this journal by summarizing events of my life as the princess of Equestria every so often starting with my coronation. ~Entry 1~ It’s been about a month since the coronation. While my induction into leadership was painted by the press as the event of the century and a happy moment for all, the first few days of it were anything but happy for me. It was actually very painful. I had to make some major adjustments to my internal clock and develop new sleeping habits. Princesses are expected to be on time for royal duties and meeting with politicians and lawmakers six days a week. Thankfully, I am super organized and keep excellent schedules, though I do have to admit, I was a bit underprepared for some things. Thankfully, the parliament members of the Canterlot Palace courts have tons of experience with politics and gave me helpful advice. I persevered and things got better as time went on, but it wasn’t just the work I had to do that got to me. What was much worse was the constant painful lump in my throat from just thinking about being away from my best friends. I still have Spike with me all the time, but Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy are all still in Ponyville living their own lives and adjusting to this big change. I have a feeling they miss me just as much, but they’re lucky they don’t have to deal with princess duties like I do. I am pleased to say that all the ponies in the castle have been nothing less than kind to me. They all understand that I’m getting started out with this and are constantly making sure I have everything together and am not on the verge of a breakdown. Just the thought of them all being there for me makes me feel much better when I’m missing my friends. Every single one of them has been treating me like a new family member. Celestia came to visit me after the first week. I cried quite a bit and told her how scary the whole thing was, but she was very assuring. She spoke with some of the palace staff to better accommodate my living conditions. I felt much better after having seen her. She says she will come to visit Canterlot every week or so to see how I’m doing until I’m comfortable enough. The Wonderbolts stopped by for an important meeting with me a few days later and I got to talk with Rainbow Dash. I got a little emotional around her too. She reminded me of how she was a bit of a nervous wreck when she started out in the Wonderbolts. She gave me advice on how to deal with it and get rid of that lump in my throat. Apparently she’s been seeing a pegasus stallion she met outside of the Wonderbolts Academy some time right before the coronation. I feel much better now, knowing she’s doing so well and is starting a relationship. Pinkie Pie has been hanging around lately with Cheese Sandwich. Maybe something will come of that too. I’ve been writing letters to everyone else and Spike sends them for me with his fire breath. I’ll be seeing them all in a few days to start the first “Council of Friendship” meeting. I have to say, despite all the stress and missing my friends, I do feel very much at home in the castle. It looks even better than before since much of it had to be rebuilt and renovated after the attack. All views from the balconies are beautiful and I can see for miles beyond the mountain. It does feel very good to be back in the city I was born and raised in, even if my fondest memories come from Ponyville. Aside from the living accommodations, the cuisine is also superb. I can tell the members of the kitchen staff have been working harder than ever to make sure I never have an empty stomach. The daisy and oat salad is my favorite meal on the royal menu. One more little detail: I have decided to change up my regalia. I really appreciate Celestia and Luna giving me their merged crown, but unfortunately it is a bit too big and I think I may need to grow as big as Celestia before I can start wearing it regularly. For now, I’ve taken to wearing a periwinkle neckband and anklets as well as a tiara that resembles my old Element of Magic crown. The gold looked nice but I feel like I will have to grow into wearing such a regal color. Well, for now, I’m just going to take baby steps with all of this. It’s overwhelming and it’s easy to get stressed out, but it’s getting better as time goes on. Spike and I will soon adjust to this new life, and I hope that my friends and everypony else that lives there can adjust to having Ponyville without me. I’m not sure when the next entry will be, but I look forward to making it. Here’s to more years of a successful run as Equestria’s leader. ~Entry 2~ It’s been about three years since my first entry. I apologize if the hiatus was lengthy, but I wanted to wait long enough to have many good things to report on. First of all, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve adjusted to my royal life and Spike and I are doing great here. Everything positive I had to say about it in the last entry has gotten better and the negatives have little effect on me now. I do still get a bit stressed at times, but problems get solved here very easily with the help of my subjects. Since I’m a leader, I do have to deal with other politicians questioning how I run things and giving me constructive criticism, but I listen to them and try my hardest to come to a conclusion. I’ve gotten a lot done in terms of passing new laws. A lot of problems arose over the past few years since the coronation, much of them having to do with safety concerns for the residents of Equestria since many of us still fear attacks from other villains. I’ve decided to increase the military and welcome in plenty of non-pony soliders and guards. Even with Queen Chrysalis imprisoned in stone, there are still some evil changelings roaming around Equestria and causing problems. Thankfully there hasn’t been a large-scale attack like the changeling invasion of Canterlot or Tirek’s rampage ever since the coronation. Now I’d like to report on some very good news about my friends. That stallion that I said Rainbow Dash was seeing a few years ago around the coronation, well he and Dash finally got married! His name is Thunderhead and he’s a wonderful husband! They’ve already had one colt and they’re expecting another in a few months. I’m so happy for her and I’m pleased to see how well she’s doing with being a mother and a Wonderbolt! She’s able to tackle both rather well! While we’re on the topic of friends finding love, Applejack found it as well! I guess after Big Macintosh got married, she started talking to Burnt Oak’s son, Tex, who was present at the wedding with his father being a guest of honor. Since their fathers both knew each other very well, I guess that drew them closer and closer together till they finally fell in love and tied the knot. Tex had already been helping her a lot on the farm for the past few years because Granny Smith has been slowing down lately. Applejack told me she expected Granny to start fading soon. She’s now taken over as the manager of Sweet Apple Acres, but she’s glad she has a husband to help her out with it. Right now she’s busy nursing their newborn twins, but Apple Bloom, Big Macintosh, and Sugar Belle are still there to lend a helping hoof. Pinkie Pie is still working at Sugarcube Corner, but plans to become a full-time party planner once Pound and Pumpkin Cake are old enough to help Mr. and Mrs. Cake out at the confectionary in a few years. She’s still been spending a lot more time with Cheese and helping him with throwing some huge parties, both in Ponyville and outside of it. They seem to be getting closer every time I see them interact. I have a strong feeling there’s something going on between them. Rarity and Fluttershy are also both still single, but are enjoying it. Rarity said she’s getting tired of falling for a handsome stallion and then finding out she doesn’t belong with him, so she’s taking a break from romantic interests for a while. She’s been very busy with her work lately and has been focusing more on that. Fluttershy has also been focusing a lot on her animal sanctuary and has even hired a few other ponies to help her out with it. I still have a feeling both of them will find handsome stallions one day. Starlight and Sunburst have both been doing an amazing job with the School of Friendship. They’ve made some changes to the building and added some new curriculum that will really improve the education for the students. I was a little iffy about the idea of having Trixie be the new guidance counselor, but she actually seems to be doing very well with it. I never would have thought that Trixie, of all ponies, would be a great asset to the school I made. I’m glad to see she’s now gotten her act together and has a stable job. Also, the six former students from the school, Sandbar, Yona, Gallus, Ocellus, Smolder, and Silverstream all graduated recently and are taking educational courses to become student teachers and eventual full-time teachers at the school. They did so wonderfully with their classes and with the final battle against the Trio, so they’ll make great teachers. Any creatures in Equestria who have experienced the magic of friendship at such a young age and seemingly have a connection with the Elements of Harmony definitely deserve to have such jobs. Flurry Heart is also growing up rather fast. She can now speak full sentences and is learning to control her magic. Cadance and Shining Armor have so far been doing a great job raising her. They’ve arranged to have Starswirl the Bearded stop by the Crystal Empire every now and then to teach her some magic. I have a strong feeling that Flurry will one day be as gifted as I was when I started training under Princess Celestia. Sunset Shimmer has also decided to return to Equestria not too long after the coronation. She really misses the friends she made in the world beyond the mirror, but feels she needs to come back to her roots and start spending more time with her family members and old friends she used to know. She’s already made friends with Flash Sentry (the one from our world that is) and has been hanging out in Ponyville and getting to know the pony versions of the friends she made in the Canterlot High School. Something significant I did recently that I’ve wanted to do for a while was appoint Tempest Shadow as the captain of the royal guard. She’d shown interest in training to become a guard after taking some time off after the Storm King’s invasion. Her militia experience is perfect for a captain and she’s performed so admirably. After her time serving the Storm King, she has suspicions that the Trio could break free somehow so she has her guards check the royal garden every now and then. Well there’s a lot more I could talk about, but I would rather not bore you, the reader, with all the details about the politics a princess has to deal with. Right now, all you need to know is I am doing wonderful and so are all my friends. I look forward to making another entry in a few years and hope to have much more great news to give. ~Entry 3~ It has now been seven years since my coronation. Much has happened and my life is getting easier as a leader with each passing day. I’m very happy with where I am now and my friends and I have all dealt with being apart rather well. Equestria has been without war or any major attacks since then, and harmony between ponies and all other creatures continues to flourish. Celestia and Luna are very proud of me. They visit every now and then, but I now have enough experience that I don’t need much guidance from them. I’ve completely adjusted to my royal lifestyle and I grow wiser and wiser each day. I’ve also started to grow taller and have nearly reached the same height that Luna used to be when we first met her. I’m still the shortest of all the alicorn princesses, but I’m taller than any of my friends. Celestia says that it has always been very common for alicorns to grow this tall around thirty years of age, and females eventually grow to be as tall as she is. One day I may be able to wear my crown passed on from her and Luna once I feel the gold regalia suits me better. Spike is surprisingly very happy where he is now too. He still missed Ponyville a lot when we moved to Canterlot and the other royal advisors suggested he take some time to settle in before he can be an official advisor and rightfully wear that badge I gave him before the coronation. I think they are right. I never wanted to pile too many responsibilities onto my number one assistant. He’s mostly there to help me out with chores and be the same helper he always has. He gives me emotional support and some advice, but any wisdom I need about politics and the duties of a princess comes from some of the royal advisors that Celestia and Luna left behind. Spike takes his job with great pride though and enjoys it nonetheless. While he’s grown up, he’s still got that cute little dragon kid vibe to him and that crazy sense of sarcastic humor he’s always had. He’s great with kids and Flurry Heart has taken to referring to him as “Uncle Spike” at times. He’s also grown a lot larger over the years, and I don’t just mean height-wise, I mean he’s gained quite a few pounds. He still loves eating those gems and I think the royal cuisine might have spoiled him a bit, but it’s added some extra insulation underneath his scales for the slightly colder weather we have here on Canterlot Mountain. He’s still diligent as ever and never complains about his work. He’s a lot stronger than he used to be and a surprisingly good flyer despite that large scaly belly. As for Pinkie Pie, well I guess I can say I called it because she and Cheese Sandwich started dating recently! They seem to really like each other and are helping out with party planning and traveling all over Equestria to lend their services to all kinds of ponies and other creatures in need of it. I’m really happy that she’s living her dream and that she’s got a great boyfriend to help her out with it. I’m just waiting to hear when Cheese has finally popped the question. Pinkie’s wedding would be the biggest party she could possibly throw! Rainbow Dash is doing very well. She actually quit the Wonderbolts not too long ago to focus on her family. It was really hard for her, but she was already sad about not being able to spend as much time with her kids, and now that she and Thunderhead are expecting a third child, she’s definitely going to be needing it. I’m so proud of her for making the right choice and proving once again that she is the Element of Loyalty. Applejack, Tex and their kids are also doing great. Sweet Apple Acres is growing and becoming more popular in Ponyville. Ponies from all over Equestria have come by in the fall to have a taste of their goods and it’s been great for the family business. Their twins, Apple Chip and Annie Smith, are also old enough now to do some chores and they’re very obedient. They like to hang out with the Cake Twins a lot and with Rainbow Dash’s oldest child, Storm Streak, when they come to visit Ponyville. Something rather surprising happened recently with Rarity: she moved to Canterlot. She said she needed to do this so it would be easier for the boutique. She and I can visit each other a lot more frequently and Spike is especially happy to have her around again. The boutique has really expanded and she’s getting better sales than ever before. Fluttershy is still working with the animal sanctuary. She’s hired more workers and has made quite a decent business out of it. She’s even welcomed in more wild creatures like cockatrices and manticores. Despite how feared they were back when they were mostly native to the Everfree Forest, she’s been able to train them well to interact peacefully with ponies and the other animals. Discord has even taken to helping her out by using powerful magic to create portals for animals from far away to come in to visit and for ponies to send their sick pets to her. I’m really happy with how much Discord has changed ever since we reformed him. He may be a trickster, but he’s much more reserved and on the right side now than he ever has been. Everything else has gone very well for the others: Starlight and Sunburst are taking excellent care of the School of Friendship, the “Student Six” are now the “Teacher Six” and have started teaching at the school, Sunset and Flash are in a relationship and she has taken up teaching at the School for Gifted Unicorns, and Tempest just appointed Flash Magnus as her first lieutenant. One thing that has really been on my mind lately is the Trio, in particular, Cozy Glow. Chrysalis and Tirek are definitely criminals no doubt, but there has been some talk about if Celestia, Luna, and Discord were really in the right to turn all three of them into stone. Discord seems rather content with their imprisonment and is still holding a grudge against Tirek for betraying him back during Tirek’s first encounter with us. Celestia told me she and Luna were very enraged with them for destroying most of the castle and nearly ruining my coronation and future as a leader, which is why they acted so quickly once we drained them of their power. I wasn’t ready to do such a thing, but she and Luna were still in command and I felt didn’t need to be questioned. She’s not beyond setting Cozy Glow free, however, undoing the petrification spell would require great amounts of magic that would set the other two free in the process. I have personally told Canterlot security that I plan to one day do this, but only once we have found Cozy’s parents. I feel bad that we imprisoned a little girl in stone, but petrification spells perfectly preserve living creatures just like a cockatrice’s stare, so she is in no real danger. Once they come out, it will feel as if only a few moments have passed for them, so none of them are likely to change their minds. I will deal with Tirek and Chrysalis, but Cozy must be taken to her parents. If I cannot find her parents, I am not sure how much longer I can wait. If possible, I may ask my friends if they can do anything to reform them as Fluttershy once did with Discord. Before I leave, I want to put emphasis on how much Flurry Heart has grown and matured. She’s been practicing with some powerful spells that Starswirl has taught her. I cannot help but notice she longs very much for an adventure and always tells me how much she wishes she could have started out like me as a regular unicorn instead of royalty. I think Shining and Cadance are pampering her a bit much and don’t seem to notice how much Flurry wants more in her life than being a princess, but I know they’ll eventually come around to the idea of letting her come to Ponyville one day to learn about friendship like I once did. I have a strong feeling she will be the one to solve the same kinds of problems I did when I was with my friends. My time as a hero has come and gone, and when trouble does arise again, somepony will have to take my place. I have also been having strange dreams lately about the Tree of Harmony and the Elements of Harmony. Perhaps the way I feel about Flurry’s future and these dreams will one day intertwine… ~Entry 4~ A year has passed since my last entry. I wasn’t planning on updating this quickly but there are some very important things you, the reader, need to know about. I have been communing lately with the “Spirit of Harmony”. She first appeared to me as Princess Celestia, but now she speaks to me through the voice of a wise elderly mare. She told me a few months ago that Equestria may no longer be safe, but that “heroes will rise again.” I begged Her to tell me more, but She said it is my duty to find the answers myself. I wasn’t sure what She meant by that. I consulted the princesses and Starswirl on this. They told me they had never had any encounters with the Spirit, but they had had dreams that could be interpreted as messages from Her. A few days ago I started having short, vivid dreams. I looked out by the castle labyrinth where we keep the statues, and realized that the statue of the villains had broken and left nothing but the pedestal and stone flakes around it. I saw Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysalis all running away from it in different directions. I did not know which one to go after first. Suddenly, I was in front of Celestia and Luna’s old castle in ruins and beside me was a horrible, red beast with thick, armored scales and a horn protruding from his snout. He rushed towards the ruins and suddenly started to destroy the Treehouse of Harmony. I tried to stop him, but then everything around me transformed once again. I was now in Flurry Heart’s bedroom and she was on the floor sleeping peacefully. She had the Journal of Friendship under one of her hooves. I lifted it with my magic and opened it up. At first I saw all six of the Elements of Harmony, whole again. I turned the page to find a picture of the Bewitching Bell, but then a cloud of thick, dark smoke arose from from it. It took on the form of a ram with glowing yellow eyes. I knew right away who this creature was: Grogar, the “Father of Monsters”. He lifted his head back and made a fierce, low bray of a sheep, echoing all around and ringing in my ears. The dark smoke encircled me and I heard a voice come from Grogar. “She will not stop me.” he said. Then I woke up, my heart pounding in my chest and sweat dripping from my head. I’ve had these dreams every night for the past week and have lost sleep because of it. I sat out on the sunset balcony last night and spoke with the Spirit. She told me that the answers have already been provided for me. I closed my eyes and thought hard. This dream is telling me several things. First of all, Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysalis will escape from their stone prison, but will not be joining each other which is why they ran in different directions. I’ve ordered Tempest Shadow to put the guards on a 24-hour watch out by the statue, but I know it won’t be enough. The villains will break free anyway, but the Spirit told me I should direct my attention more towards Flurry. Perhaps she is telling me this because there is still good in those three. Next, Flurry Heart will be playing an important role in whatever is to come. Most likely she will be the one to find a way to stop that red beast I saw, whoever he is. There must have been a reason why she was reading the “Journal of Friendship.” I think she is ready to take on the same duties I did when I first came to Ponyville. As for Grogar, I don’t know how, but he is likely still around. When he said, “She cannot stop me”, I think he was talking about Flurry. I don’t know how we will do it, but Grogar will be stopped. I have kept the Bewitching Bell hidden safely in the crystal caves, far beneath Canterlot, protected by a magic spell only I can break. As long as Grogar cannot find it and regain his full power, we should be safe enough from him, but the other three villains may be a problem. Lastly, the Elements. I don’t know why I saw them in the book, but I have a feeling they will come back. Who they will choose this time is a mystery. The Spirit told me if they do come back, they might be very different from the ones we wielded before. This is a lot to pile on and worry myself about, but I have a strong feeling Flurry Heart will do a good job dealing with this if she is truly the one the Spirit is calling out to. I am going to do the best I can to deal with it while tackling my royal duties, but my days of being the hero and solving such problems have come to an end. I can only pass on my knowledge as a teacher and lead as a princess. Flurry will grow as a result of this experience and will one day take her mother and father’s place as the leader of the Crystal Empire. She’s been bored with her royal life lately and wants to learn something, and that’s just what she’ll get. My story has ended. Flurry Heart’s story starts now. > Spike > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, It’s Spike the Dragon! Princess Twilight Sparkle’s number one assistant. Twilight said we should do this journal thing, so I figured, well, why not? So much has happened since she became the leader of Equestria and we’ve both got a lot to talk about, so let’s jump into it! ~Entry 1~ Now where do I begin? First of all, we’ve been in here for over a month now and I think Twilight’s got her first entry written. She didn’t do so great the first few weeks and got pretty emotional at times, but so did I. When she cries, I usually cry too. I’m just glad I’m here with her, always happy to cheer her up. She seems to get over things pretty quickly and all the other ponies in this castle are really helpful. You should meet the royal chefs and waitresses. Boy do they make a mean gem pudding and seasoned hay fries back there in the kitchen! Anyway, I’m getting off topic. So yeah, Twilight’s been having it pretty rough, but she seems to be coming along as time goes on. We had our first ever “Council of Friendship” meeting a few weeks ago and, well, you know Pinkie Pie, she had to make it a memorable one. We all met at Sugarcube Corner and had tons of cake and ice cream and sweets galore. We talked for a while there and then took a walk around Ponyville doing some shopping and saying hi to some friends. After that, we took a quick tour of Twilight’s old castle and the School of Friendship where we made a surprise visit during a pep rally. Everyone was so happy to see her. By the end of the day, Twilight was really sad to leave, but I reminded her how we do this once every month and that there are always still opportunities to see them outside of the meetings. She did see Rainbow Dash a few weeks ago when the Wonderbolts came by to talk with us about important matters with the Equestrian military. Well after that first Council meeting, Twilight seems to be doing a lot better. She’s taking it one day at a time and I think she’ll do great! Well I guess Rainbow Dash and Applejack both found coltfriends believe it or not. I’m calling it right now that they get married to them. Also, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich totally have a thing for each other. I just know it. I see them hanging out a lot whenever Cheese comes to help her throw a party in Ponyville and I’m calling that they’re gonna fall in love someday too. Some ponies keep saying they think Fluttershy and Discord are in love, but…eh, I’m not seeing it. Discord just really cares for her is all. He doesn’t seem that romantically interested in anypony right now and sees Fluttershy as more of an important friend than anything. I think she’ll find a good stallion one day, but right now, she just loves working with her animals. Rarity’s still single but hoping for some handsome stallion to come sweep her off her feet one day, and to be honest, I’m fine with that. I know I’ve had a crush on her for a while, and I kinda still do, but I don’t get to see her that much anymore and I know she’d love to be with someone she can start a family with. I dunno if I’ll ever find myself a nice dragon lady out there someday, but for now, I’m going to make sure Twilight does good as the new leading princess and I’m going to keep helping her out. Well that’s all for now I guess. I hope things get a lot better with Twilight, but I’m sure she’s going to do just great leading this country. We’ll have a lot to talk about in a few years, so stay tuned! ~Entry 2~ So it’s been like three years now since the last entry. Twilight just updated recently so I thought I’d do it too. We’re doing great here in Canterlot now! Twilight’s gotten used to the new princess lifestyle and we both love living in the castle. She’s getting taller like alicorns do as they grow in their thirties and wearing this nice bluish set of regalia. I guess she thinks the golden crown she got from Celestia and Luna is a bit big for her and she wants to grow into it. The crown she’s wearing right now looks great on her and resembles her old Element of Harmony tiara back when they beat Nightmare Moon. As for me, I’m not the one leading so I don’t have as tough of a job as Twilight, but I was a little overwhelmed back when we were getting started. I didn’t say this before, but I guess the royal advisors that Celestia and Luna left behind suggested I work my way into becoming Twilight’s official advisor. I’m still mostly her number one assistant and just being a voice of reason for her when she needs it. That medal she gave me is still in my bedroom, but I’m going to wait till I’ve earned wearing it. Besides, it’s to tight to actually fit on me. I’ve gained some weight. Hey, what can I say? The food here’s delicious and the gems they serve are to die for! Anyway, remember when I said Rainbow Dash and Applejack were gonna totally get married to those stallions they met? Well, I was right! AJ’s already had twins (Apple Chip and Annie Smith) and Dash’s already had one kid (Storm Streak) and is expecting a second! Dash’s husband is named Thunderhead and he’s awesome! He can fly really fast just like her even though he’s not a Wonderbolt, and takes great care of her. AJ’s husband is Tex. He’s the son of Burnt Oak, that one earth pony that her dad hung out with back when they were younger. Tex is big and strong like Big Mac, but he talks a little more and he helps out a lot on the farm. Like, so much has changed with these two; it’s hard to believe! Their kids are still toddlers, but they’re already learning to speak in full sentences and they love having fun. I’m gonna try getting them into the Power Ponies comics someday. Don’t tell Rainbow Dash I said this, but Power Ponies is way better than Daring Do! Pinkie and Cheese have been doing a lot of traveling lately with their party-planning businesses. They haven’t started dating yet, but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of them. They gotta hook up someday, they’re totally meant for each other! Fluttershy’s still doing her thing with the animals back at her sanctuary and Rarity’s still working on her fashion design. I really miss being with Rarity, but she has thought of moving to Canterlot since her new boutique is here and it gets a little more traffic than the one in Ponyville. I’m kind of repeating most of what Twilight’s already said in her entry so if you want to know more about what all has been happening with our Ponyville friends, feel free to read her entry or theirs. Well, I should go now. Twilight says tomorrow’s going to be a big day. We’re meeting with some delegates from Griffonstone. She says the griffons are looking to redo some things in their country and want to partner up with Equestria like they did back in the old days when Celestia and Luna’s parents were in control. Talk to ya later! ~Entry 3~ Hey, it’s Spike again, and wow, has it really been seven years since this all started? A lot has changed since then! First of all, we were successful with that meeting we had with Griffonstone that I mentioned in the last entry. Twilight and the Griffonstone elders (which was just Grandpa Gruff and a few other reluctant griffons who joined him) all met and worked together to get funding to help rebuild and expand the city. Twilight sent in some soldiers to protect it from raiders that were causing trouble for a while until Griffonstone could build up it’s own military. They have a military force now and even have a leader named General Giovanni the Great (try saying that ten times fast). The reason he’s called “general” and not “king” is cuz the griffons wanted to go back to how it was when they were actually part of the Equestrian state and the griffon leader is in charge of a military faction. I guess some time after Celestia banished her sister to the moon, the griffons thought she was violent and were scared of her so they seceded and formed their own separate kingdom with a royal family and all. After what happened with Arimaspi, the city just went everygriffon-for-themselves, but our victory against the “Trio” (Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysalis) encouraged them to start things up again. Griffonstone had quite a comeback. The city looks way better and they have tourists come by a lot. Gabby and I are still great pals and visit each other frequently, but she sends me some photos every now and then when she has the chance. She says she feels way happier living there and griffons have become a lot nicer and appreciative of the ponies. I guess you can say the ponies really changed their way of life. Gabby doesn’t know where Griffonstone would be without us Equestrians. You wanna know who else’s lives have changed thanks to us? The dragons! That battle with the trio really helped show the dragons that the ponies can also be tough. Dragon Lord Ember says it’s become much less of a thing to insult ponies. She usually scowls at any dragon that does it. Ember sure has grown taller and she rules with an iron fist. They’ve taken to flying into the Equestrian territory more often to visit other non-dragon friends. Twilight usually teleports over to the Dragon Lands to speak with Ember about important matters, but Ember doesn’t mind taking a trip to Canterlot every now and then too. Whenever Twilight needs to send a quick message to Ember or any other leaders, she has me use my fire breath and it appears over a little torch they’ve placed in all the different lands that they can use to send a scroll back with a response. Smolder and Garble are also doing great over there. Garble’s been a good friend ever since he came around back during that incident with the eggs not hatching. He’s not such a bully anymore and the other dragons love listening to him play the bongos. Smolder is actually studying right now to become a teacher at the School of Friendship along with her other five friends, which I think is a great idea. Thorax has also made some progress with the Changeling Kingdom. They’ve built more homes around the castle and have been having more children. Apparently Queen Chrysalis would forbid them from producing any offspring back when she was in command, so she would just spawn them in eggs with her powers. That was part of the reason she didn’t invade Equestria for such a long time until Shining Armor and Cadance’s wedding happened because she needed time to build up enough of an army. Now that she’s gone, changeling males and females mate to produce offspring, though some already had started to behind her back, which explains where Ocellus came from. I guess after metamorphosing from sharing love instead of taking it, romantic love has been encouraged and as a result, they’ve been having more kids. Of course, their weddings are a bit silly since they take our traditions a bit too literally just like with Hearth’s Warming. They’re all doing great and Thorax has matured as a leader. He even appointed his brother, Pharynx, as the captain of the changeling guard. So yeah, we’ve been having a lot of success abroad. Equestria and the lands around it are way more united than we were before. Twilight’s so happy with all of this and even better, our friends in Ponyville are doing great too. Rainbow Dash actually quit the Wonderbolts recently to focus more on her family. She had another kid, Lightning Flash, and now she’s expecting a third, possibly in a few weeks. Storm Streak (or “Stormy” as some of us call him) looks a bit like Thunderhead but he’s as brave and adventurous as his mother. I was able to get him hooked on Power Ponies, and he’s even got some of the action figures (I still buy them too. Don’t tell Twilight). AJ and Tex haven’t had any more kids yet, but Chip and Annie are both great helpers on the farm and they’re close friends with Stormy and the Cake Twins. Now let’s get to the good part: Pinkie and Cheese finally started dating! I knew all along that they had a thing for each other and boy did they take long enough! Pinkie’s on cloud nine right now and Cheese couldn’t be happier since he was the one that asked her out. Here’s hoping he’ll propose to her soon! Fluttershy’s been a lot more confident lately and has been singing more with the Ponytones Quintet. Of course she’s usually more occupied still with the animal sanctuary. She’s let in more exotic animals and expanded it. Discord helps out there when he can and he’s been behaving lately too. I think he learned his lesson after the whole fiasco with the Trio. He feels bad about that, but he’s done all he can to make up for it and everyone else seems to like him now. Now for Rarity: something really special has happened lately with her: she moved to Canterlot! I was so happy when I heard she was going to be moving to our own town. She visits us quite often in the castle and Twilight commissions her to make some royal gowns. It’s great to have her back here. She hasn’t forgotten her little (or big) “Spikey Wikey.” Every time we see her, she always gives me these perfectly aged gems that she saves for me for several weeks, and oooooh boy, they’re delicious! Of course those gems haven’t exactly helped to slim me down. My belly’s gotten so big; I can’t even see my own toes when I stand up now. It’s not a problem for dragons though, a lot of dragons get better metabolism from it, and it keeps me warm during the winter. I’m pretty strong now too and it’s never a problem helping Twilight around the castle. Well I think that’s all I’ve got to say for now. I’m just so grateful we’ve been able to get so much done in the past few years. Twilight’s off to a really good start as the new leader of Equestria and I’m so proud of her. ~Entry 4~ Hey, I’m back. It’s been just one year since the last entry, but I’ve got some great news! Flurry’s coming to visit Ponyville for a week or two and Twilight has tasked me with watching over her during her stay. I guess Flurry had a bit of a rough time at some fancy ball up in the Crystal Empire last night and she told Shining Armor and Cadance that she’s tired of being a princess and wants some adventure. Well, they agreed and decided that she needs to set out on one just like Twilight did back when Celestia sent her to Ponyville. Feels like old times already. Twilight said she’s been having some strange dreams lately too. She feels like they’re premonitions and Flurry is supposed to do something important. I mean I’d be remiss if I said I couldn’t see that happening. Flurry is the first natural-born alicorn in Equestria in over a thousand years and she’s pretty capable for her age, but she really wants to know more about the magic of friendship. Twilight seems to think she’ll be the next hero that Equestria needs. I think she’s right. Well, if Flurry is meant for great things, I’d be happy to help her out. I have a feeling she’ll be staying a little longer than a few weeks, so I best pack up as much as I can. I’m really excited to be heading back to Ponyville for a while. It’ll be nice to be out in the country once again and be staying in Twilight’s old castle in Ponyville where Sunburst, Starlight Glimmer, and Trixie currently live. I’ve got a lot in Ponyville I’d love to show Flurry. She’s going to have such a fun time there! > Rainbow Dash > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Dash here: fastest flyer in Equestria. My friend, Princess Twilight Sparkle decided to write in this journal after she became the new leader of Equestria, and said the rest of us can join in. We started this a few months after the coronation, and there’s already quite a lot of awesome stuff for me to talk about, so let’s jump right into it! ~Entry 1~ Okay, so first of all: things didn’t go quite as swimmingly as we planned for Twilight’s coronation. Discord was just being Discord again and tried to set up some big final battle with some villains to try and get us to win so it would boost Twilight’s confidence or something, but it kinda backfired. Lord Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis just turned on him and absorbed his magic, and then they absorbed Celestia and Luna’s magic, which pretty much left us defenseless. Well, we eventually escaped and, found Twilight and took on all of them with the help of practically everyone else available in Equestria. They all came along and distracted them and that gave us enough time to use the power of the Elements along with the Pillars of Equestria and the six students from the School of Friendship. We did the whole epic rainbow beam and took their powers they got from Grogar’s crazy old bell and then Discord and the princesses turned them into stone. I gotta say, it was pretty insane! Well we eventually got to Twi’s coronation and we messed up quite a lot of things, but she handled it surprisingly well. I guess she wasn’t doing to hot though during the first few weeks and I could tell by her letters she had sent that things were rough. I actually had the pleasure of seeing her before our first “Council of Friendship” meeting when Spitfire needed to go meet with her about some important matters involving the Wonderbolts. When I finally got to speak alone with Twilight, she tried her best to be positive in front of me, but I knew right away that she was hiding her emotions, so I looked her right in the eyes and told her to be honest. Her lip started quivering and before you knew it, she was huddled up right next to me and kept going on and on about how rough it was. I felt so bad for her. I put my wing around her and told her how I’ve been a nervous wreck with some things before and was a little scared back when I was getting started being a Wonderbolt. It seemed to make things a lot better, but I knew it was going to take some time for her to get used to all these big changes. I left for home that night feeling pretty down and decided to call an emergency meeting with the others about Twilight. We all decided to give Twilight a little surprise party at Sugarcube Corner for the first council meeting and that really made her day. The next few months did get better for her. She seems to be adjusting to all the big changes despite still missing us. That’s what’s been going on with Twilight, but now I’ve got some really big, life-changing, super awesome news: I might kinda sorta have a boyfriend now. Yeah, yeah, I know. I’m surprised it happened too. I never thought I’d find a stallion this soon, but I did and he’s actually pretty cool! Let me tell you how I met him. So I was flying around one day outside of the Academy, just practicing my moves and testing some new goggles, when suddenly I saw this other pegasus flying to my left not too far from me. I was flying pretty fast and he was catching up so I figured it was Soarin or somepony, but I slowed down to get a better look and he didn’t have on a uniform or any goggles. His coat was a shade of greyish blue with darker blue hair and a yellow streak going through it that was shaped like a lightning bolt. I was surprised at how fast he was despite not being part of the Wonderbolts or being in training. I followed him to see what he would do and sure enough he started doing some amazing tricks around some of the clouds much like I would do back when I was younger and trying to impress the Wonderbolts. I eventually caught up to him and told him he had some slick moves. He said he was happy to get such a compliment from one of the Wonderbolts. Before I could even introduce myself, he already knew who I was. He said he was a big fan of the Wonderbolts and knew us all by name. He then introduced himself as Thunderhead. We sat down on a nearby cloud and talked a bit. I was getting a little nervous cuz I could already tell he was my type, but I just listened and did my best to talk like he was a close friend, the same way I do with Twilight and the others. He told me he was always a thrill-seeker and very athletic (wow, just like me), but surprisingly he was never really that interested in being part of the Wonderbolts. It was confusing to hear this, but I guess he wasn’t really the type to devote himself to such a team. I asked him what he was interested in doing and he just looked up to the sky and said he wants to “live my life and be happy.” I wasn’t quite sure what he meant by that. I thought he would just tell me what kind of job he wanted, but that was a pretty vague answer. After a long pause I just said how we’re in the same boat then cuz I’m living my life and am happy being a Wonderbolt and all. For a moment I thought I might’ve insulted him, but he didn’t seem offended by it. Well we said our goodbyes, but not before I decided to invite him to a Wonderbolts air show happening in Canterlot, which he gladly accepted. A few days later after the show had ended, I met up with him and then introduced him to some of the other Wonderbolts. He seemed a bit star-struck, though not nearly as much as I was when I first met them. We hung out later and chatted a bit and got to know each other. He apparently is also a fan of Daring Do, and unlike Quibble Pants, he actually appreciates the new books. This made me feel a lot more connected to him, but I still couldn’t really decide if I liked him or not. The next time I met Thunder was actually during the battle against the Trio right before Twilight’s coronation. When everyone came in to help us fight, he was one of the ones who decided to join in with the pegasi. He flew in and helped a few others distract Tirek by flying around him. He nearly got blasted a few times, but he dodged it like a pro. After we all settled down and those three were taken care of, he gave me a big hug and said how glad he was that I was alright. I thanked him a ton for helping us out along with the others. After the battle, I finally introduced him to my friends later that night at Donut Joe’s. Probably not the smartest idea since Pinkie couldn’t go on about how I liked him and should totally get married and have kids (thankfully she said that after he left). I was pretty bashful but everyone else was supportive and thought he was handsome. I was hiding it at the time, but it was true I was already starting to crush pretty hard. Well, long story short: one thing lead to another and after a lot of hanging around and talking about Daring Do and the Wonderbolts and stuff, Thunder finally asked me if I would be his special somepony. I’ve never felt like such a dweeb before, being the silly fan-girl I am, but I was so happy he finally asked. We’ve been dating since then and I really feel like this is something I’ve been missing out on for a while. I always thought relationships were just not my thing and I’d just end up being single but still happy to be a Wonderbolt, but I guess I found the right guy. Being in this relationship has really caused me to see the world a bit differently. Throughout my life, it’s always been about me; about going out there and being the best I can be and being a wild free spirit, but being with Thunder has made me feel a lot more down-to-Earth. I admit I’ve been pretty self-centered most of the time and I brag a lot about how awesome I am, but I’ve eased off on that. I haven’t felt quite this different since Twilight came to Ponyville and the six of us all became heroes after stopping Nightmare Moon. After Twilight went back to Canterlot to start leading a country, I’ve felt a little sad that those days are gone now and we all have to move on, but I think this has opened up a new chapter in my life. We’ll see where it all goes from here. I really want to be around Thunder more and see if he’s the guy for me. One thing I can say is he’s made me feel a lot more awesome than I ever have in a while. I’m rambling now, aren’t I? Yeah, sorry, I’m a love-struck weirdo. Well I hope this first entry wasn’t too mushy, but the next one probably will be too at this rate. Well I hope Twilight does an awesome job with the crown and here’s to me and Thunderhead! Oh hi, it’s me, Pinkie Pie! Shhhhh, don’t say a word! Dashie doesn’t know I secretly hid this little message in her entry! Just letting everypony know I toooootally ship “ThunderDash!” Or does “RainbowHead” sound better? RainbowHead kinda sounds like a crazy metal band that sings about rainbows and stuff. Eh, I’ll go with ThunderDash. That sounds way more awesome! Anyway, these two are adorable and I love them so super much and I’m gonna do the best I can to make sure they have the most super coolest, awesomest, radicalest, amazingest (these are all words, I’m adding them to the dictionary!) times together! Okay, gotta go! TOODLES! ~Entry 2~ PINKIE PIE!!! Sorry about her, guys. I told Twilight we should all write in our own separate journals, but oh well. That crazy party pony just has no shame. Well I owe her in a way cuz guess where I am right now? I’m sitting in my new home just outside of Ponyville with my son on the floor playing with some little Wonderbolt plushies as I write this. Yup, that’s right: Thunder and I got hitched and we had a kid! Not long after I wrote the last entry, things got kinda serious between us, and just about a year later, he proposed and we were married! I wasn’t planning on having kids immediately after getting married, but I figured what the hay. The kid’s name is Storm Streak (Stormy for short), and he’s an adorable little ball of energy! He’s got a darker shade of blue in his coat like his father, and he has my eyes some of my mane colors, so he’s a good cross between the two of us. He’s already learned to say his first word: “Awesome!” I taught him how to say it obviously. I never thought I was going to enjoy being a mother so much but I love being with the little guy. I can already tell he loves the Wonderbolts, and he loves when I read him the kid’s book versions of Daring Do. I’m still on maternity leave from the Wonderbolts, but I’ll be heading back soon. I’m going to miss getting to chill at home with Stormy, but I found the perfect babysitter: Scootaloo! Scoot is really happy for me finding a husband and having a kid. She loves spending time with Stormy, and I’m happy to pay her to watch my kid when Thunder and I are busy at our jobs. Oh and by the way, Scoot finally learned to fly! She did it some time after I wrote my first entry in this journal. She said she was hanging out with Applebloom and Sweetie Belle one day and she started flapping her wings really fast while she was air born on her scooter and just managed to stay afloat. She had a little trouble with direction and could only stay in the air for a minute or two before her wings got tired. Her wings have gotten much bigger though and I’m pretty certain she might be as good of a flyer as I am one day! She broke the news to me by surprising me while I was practicing outside of the Academy. I couldn’t believe I was seeing her flying right next to me at that moment! I’m just so proud of the little squirt for finally learning to fly, and she didn’t even need my help to start doing it! Now as for Thunder: back when we first met, he was working two part time jobs at a restaurant and a weather factory in Cloudsdale. Now he’s working full time at the factory, but he’s sometimes able to get time off to stay with Stormy while I do some Wonderbolts work. If we’re both booked, we call in Scoot or anypony else available. My schedule is usually freer than his unless I’m prepping for a show or if we’re called in to help with some weather-related disaster. Thunder doesn’t have the best job, but we’re both making enough to support us and he’s just happy that we have a good living situation and a great kid. I’m so proud of him for everything he’s done for me. Oh and while I’m at it, can you believe that Applejack also got married?! She was dating a guy called Tex for a while. He’s the son of Burnt Oak. They were pretty close and they actually beat me and Thunder to tying the knot as well as having kids. As if one wasn’t enough, AJ had twins named Apple Chip and Annie Smith! I can already tell Stormy loves hanging around the two of them. They’re gonna be good friends as they all grow up. Well aside from that huge change in my life, there’s not much else to say that Twilight and the others haven’t already mentioned in their entries if you wanna go check them out. A lot sure is changing. Even without Twilight in Ponyville, we’re all moving on well without her, and we’re really growing up. Can’t wait for the next entry! Alright, I gotta go. Stormy’s getting into the cookie jar again. That naughty little pipsqueak! ~Entry 3~ Okay, so how long as it been now since I started this journal? Four years I think? Eh, I’ll figure it out another time. Anyway, Thunder and I had another kid! We named this one Lightning Flash! He looks a bit more like me only with blue eyes and some red, yellow and bright blue in his mane. He’s pretty energetic like Stormy but he’s not quite as naughty. Stormy’s gotten a bit feistier at this age and he’s a bit of a troublemaker, but I handle him pretty well. It’s hard to get mad at him sometimes cuz he reminds me so much of myself when I was his age, but Thunder and I still keep him in line when I need to. You should see Thunder with the boys. He loves wrestling, tickling, and rough-housing with them in the living room every night before we put the kids down for bed. It helps tire them out so they sleep like rocks. And of course I still hire Scoot to come by and watch after them. They both love her obviously. Lightning hasn’t started flying just yet and she’s trying to teach him to do it. Well that was several months ago. Lightning is just starting to learn to walk and talk while I’m back doing some Wonderbolts work. Thunder actually got a better-paying job with weather control in the Ponyville/Canterlot area, which means we could finally move back down to Ponyville in a house. When we were married, I moved in with him in his apartment in Cloudsdale, but it feels a lot better to have a house with way more space for the kids. He’s been doing great, but I do worry about the kids a bit. I feel like there’s not enough time to spend with them and whenever I’m busy with the Wonderbolts, I get this feeling coming over me like I should be with the kids. I trust Scoot with them of course, but I always feel bad when I have to leave and I look back to see Stormy, waving goodbye to me and looking all sad. He’s toughened up a bit now, but he used to cry sometimes when I was gone. Lightning hasn’t really reached that age yet, but it’s going to be harder when he starts using those puppy-dog eyes on me to try and get me to stay home. Some great news is that Mom and Dad are being suuuuuper supportive of me in all this. I forgot to say in the last few entries, but sweet mother of Twilight Sparkle (hehe, I love that I can say that now), they were so happy when I started dating Thunder and then married him! Mom taught me all about feeding foals and changing their diapers and so on. Dad calls like practically every single day to see how we’re doing and he loves playing with the kids. I used to be embarrassed by their support and would get angry with them, but now I’m really happy I’ve had supportive parents that could be there for me in times like this. All this mom-work got me pretty good, so I decided to cut my mane and tail like how Mom wears hers. Looks pretty nice on me. Thunder, on the other hoof, has been growing his hair out. He used to have a sort of Trojan-horse manecut, but now he’s looking a little more like I used to. Well apart from that, I’ve started taking the kids to some places that mom and dad used to take me. Stormy’s old enough to go on some kiddie rides at the Ponyville Fair and he loves the Cloudsdale Aeronautics Museum too which is right around where Thunder and I used to live. He keeps asking if he can go on one of the roller coasters over in Las Pegasus, but there’s no way he’d be allowed on one of those yet. When he gets tall enough, he might be able to get on the more exciting rides. He really loves moving around a lot and keeps himself busy, which is why I helped Thunder put together a little jungle gym out in the back yard. Lightning’s usually just playing in the sandbox, but Stormy can’t get enough out of the gym or the trampoline. It only becomes an issue when he gets a bit rambunctious and flies out to play on some low-hanging clouds. Ever since he started flying (yes, that early, can you believe it?!), he’s been doing that a lot. I keep telling him to stay close to the house but he still has a hard time listening. Oh well. A colt after my own heart I guess. Oh and while I’m at it, Stormy looooves Daring Do! I’ve recently started reading him the original books written by AK Yearling, and he never dozes off when listening to me. While on topic, I also heard they’re trying to make a film adaptation of the books. I was a little scared that Hinnywood would screw it up like they did what that one lousy Power Ponies reboot a while ago, but AK said she’s not going to let it happen unless they allow her to be involved with the production, so if it happens, it’s gonna be good. I don’t know if the films are going to be appropriate enough for Stormy to watch, but maybe if they take a while to do them, they’ll come out when he turns 13. Eh, who am I kidding. I’ll wait for the video release and just show it to him at home, and nopony can stop me! Mom and Dad let me see a few PG-13 films when I was like 9! Well that’s all the time I have for now. Tomorrow Thunder and I are gonna take the kids on a trip to the beach and Stormy’s super-excited! ~Entry 4~ Eight years ago, my friends and I stood up against all odds and saved all of Equestria. A few days after that, Twilight became our leader. We weren’t able to spend as much time with her anymore, but I met a stallion who understood and brought out the best in me. I married him and we had wonderful kids. For the next few years, I tackled my job as a Wonderbolt and my family, but as time went on, it became increasingly difficult. I had accomplished my dream, but I started to realize I was living another one. No, I didn’t plan on getting married quite this soon and starting a family. I think at one point I probably didn’t like the idea of it, but it just happened anyway. I went with it and haven’t regretted it to this day. Not too long ago, I signed the papers, finished up my remaining duties for a few more weeks, and then finally, I left the Wonderbolts. They threw a huge party for me on the last day and I went into the office before leaving and had a long talk with Spitfire. She was sad that I had to leave, but she knew I had to quit this dream in order to stay true to another one. She wished me luck and gave me a special pass to get into Wonderbolts shows free with any of my family and friends. I went home to Thunder who had already put the kids down for bed. It was rough expressing my feelings to him. I started crying at one point, but he was there for me. Even if I’m no longer a Wonderbolt, I’m still so happy I have him and the kids. Years ago, if you were to tell me this would all happen, I probably would have just laughed it off or denied it. I feel like my younger self would have been angry to hear that I would join the Wonderbolts but then find love and quit to take care of a family. I was immature and selfish back then. I was an Element of Harmony, but I still made lots of mistakes and usually thought only of myself. Over time I started to realize this and I wised up, but I still continuously fell short. Getting into the Wonderbolts forced me to be more responsible and ready for anything. Meeting Thunderhead humbled me and taught me how important family is. I now know what he meant when he said he wanted to “live life and be happy” because that’s what I’m doing. I set out with the goal of becoming a Wonderbolt and I did it, but in time, something else came up that I didn’t expect and I had to roll with that instead. Quitting the Wonderbolts was the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but it was also the best one I’ve made. Thunder got promoted at his job so we’re doing alright financially, and I saved up a lot from my Wonderbolts career. The kids are going to do fine with us and Stormy is already becoming just like me. He got his cutie mark a few months ago and he’s able to zoom around as fast as I could as a kid, only younger. I think he’ll make a fine Wonderbolt someday. As I write this, I’m sitting here in our nursery room right next to a crib with our newest addition to the family: Misty Blitz. I gave birth to her not long after quitting the Wonderbolts. She’s been around for just a few weeks and needs lots of attention, but I manage just fine every day, even through the stress. I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom now; I have all the time in the world. Being a Wonderbolt helped me to deal with the toughest of situations and was a great way to introduce me to motherhood now that I think about it, so there was no mistake doing either one. I love being with these little ones and I love my husband. I wouldn’t trade them for the world. I don’t know if me and Twilight and the others will ever be chosen to wield the power of the Elements of Harmony again, but I’m still the Element of Loyalty through and through and that’s why I stuck with them. To whoever reads this: it’s never bad to follow your dreams, but also don’t be afraid to settle down or quit your dream in order to be happy. Family is still important too. Be as loyal as you can to those who mean something to you. Whether I live on as Equestria’s fastest flier or Equestria’s best mom, I hope my experience taught you all something. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a big day tomorrow. I’m taking Mom and Dad to a Wonderbolts show in Canterlot and Spike is bringing Flurry Heart over to be introduced to my kids. She was hanging out with the Cakes the other day and Twilight says she’s going to be spending some time in Ponyville to learn about friendship. I have a feeling Stormy will get along with her; I just hope he’s not too mischievous around the princess of the Crystal Empire. Take care, everyone, and stay awesome! > Pinkie Pie > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- EEEEEH! HI EVERYONE!! IT’S PINKIE PIE!!! Omigosh, I’m so excited to be doing this! Twilight said we should all keep a journal starting after she becomes the head honcho of Equestria, so this is my first entry. I don’t know how often I’ll update, but I’ll do my best and I’ll have some super awesome news every time, so let’s get right to it! ~Entry 1~ Oh boy, where do I begin?! First of all, things were crrrrazy before Twilight’s coronation! We fought Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis (or the “Trio” as everypony’s calling them) and the windigoes came back and then we turned the Trio into stone and Twilight’s coronation was super duper awesome! Well, kinda. Okay, honestly though, we didn’t exactly plan things out too well with the coronation and it kinda flopped, but at least Twilight got her crown and she’s the leader now! Yay! We all got to give her that special book of memories that Starlight Glimmer worked on so it all turned out good in the end. I felt so bad for Twilight after the first few days though. She said she was so sad and nervous and had a few little breakdowns. She really wanted to be around us more. I cried a few times whenever I had some alone time, just thinking about her in that castle, several miles away from her friends in Ponyville. It’s just so sad to think about. Well, she writes letters as often as she can and sends them through Spike’s fire breath and we reply using these nifty little magic torches that Starswirl made that can send them back to Spike. She can’t always reply that quickly, but she tries. It’s been about a month since her coronation and she says it’s getting better and she’s getting used to all the big changes. Well for the first “Council of Friendship” meeting, I thought we’d do something huge so I got Dashie, AJ, Fluttershy, and Rarity to help me out at Sugarcube Corner. Mr. and Mrs. Cake helped make tons of treats for us and we set up some streamers and stuff. As soon as she came in, we surprised her and she was so happy she started crying! Of course, we all cried a little too. We were just so happy to see her! We all spent some time at Sugarcube Corner, walked around Ponyville to shop and stuff, and then we took Twilight to visit Starlight, Sunburst, and Trixie over in her old crystal castle. Next, she made a surprise visit during a pep rally at the School of Friendship and the students were sooooo happy to see her! By the end of the day, she was really sad that she had to leave, but before we left, we went back to the castle and talked a few things over. She wanted us to come to Canterlot for the next meeting to discuss with us a few things about her plans for Equestria. She’s got a lot in mind for how to improve relations with the other creatures we’re becoming acquainted with. Now here’s some interesting news: Cheese Sandwich is going on a bit of a party-throwing tour some time next spring, and he offered to let me join him! I’ve never actually went on a partying tour before and I’m kinda nervous about doing it in areas I’m not too familiar with, but I figured this was a great idea to expand with my special talent! After all that’s happened lately, we should definitely spread more laughter all over Equestria, and if there’s anyone who can do it with me, it’s Cheese! It’s a ways off but I can’t wait to get started with that! Right now, we’re all getting adjusted to not having Twilight around and I am getting super stoked for the holidays coming up! Twilight wants to plan something huge in Ponyville this Hearth’s Warming! CAN’T WAIT!!! Well hey, before I go, did you guys know Applejack’s got a boyfriend?! It’s true! AJ’s been seeing a guy called Tex for a few months now. They’ve already started dating and they’re perfect for each other! Tex is the son of Burnt Oak and I think it’s just so sweet how their fathers were both close friends back in the day. Her dad would be so proud to know she’s with his best friend’s son. Now to see them tie the knot! DO IT APPLEJACK! FOR YOUR PARENTS!! Oh, and Dashie’s seeing a guy called Thunderhead and ooooh boy is she hot for him! I can see it in her eyes! He’s totally her type! They aren’t dating yet, but mark my words, THEY WILL BE!! I’m gonna make sure nothing comes between these two! They’d have the cutest kids ever! Sorry if I sound like a crazy fangirl, but I ship TexJack and ThunderDash so hard right now!!! Alright, that’s all for now. See ya in another couple years when I’ve got some updates! ~Entry 2~ AAAAAAAAAAGH!!! I’M SO HAPPY I COULD BURST!!! Sorry, couldn’t resist. So much has happened in the past few years though! AJ and Tex got married not too long after I did my first entry and Dashie and Thunder did the same a few months later! But wait, there’s more! AJ and Tex had twins named Apple Chip and Annie Smith! They’re inseparable and so cute! I think it’s adorable that Annie was named after Granny Smith! Dashie and Thunderhead’s son is named Storm Streak and she’s already pregnant with a second one! I just can’t believe this is happening to my friends now! I feel like an aunt already! Fluttershy and Rarity haven’t found any stallions yet. Rarity’s been taking her work quite seriously lately so she doesn’t really have time for romance right now, but she’ll get there. Fluttershy’s also taking things seriously with her work too and Discord’s been helping her with the animal sanctuary. Ever since Twilight left, we’ve all been focusing heavily on our jobs and that’s okay, I just kinda miss the days when we were having a lot of adventures. To be fair though, nothing huge has happened ever since we turned Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy Glow to stone. I kinda feel bad for those three, but if we released them now, that might not go so well. Ah well. Less conflict means a little time for some R&R I guess. It might not be as adventurous as it was a few years ago, but we’re all continuing with our lives pretty well and we’re getting some additions to the family in the process! So yeah, a whole lotta changes. As for me, I’m still following my passion of party-planning and helping run Sugarcube Corner. The Cakes are starting to expand their inventory too! We’ve got a lot of new tasty treats that even I can’t resist buying with my 50% discount every day after work! Everyone says I might wanna lay off on the sweets though cuz I’m starting to put on some weight. Not sure what they mean by that. I’m not that chubby am I? Let me go check a mirror real quick. Be right back… WHOA! Actually they’re right! I am getting pretty thick, ‘specially back there in the glutes! Hehe, I’m kinda cute like this! I’m almost starting to look like Mrs. Cake! Hey, all that sugar’s gotta go somewhere, right? Speaking of cakes, the Cake Twins are growing up sooooo super fast! They started talking more some time after Twilight started leading and they can speak full sentences right now. Pound really loves building toys and being pretty active while Pumpkin just laughs a lot and loves her sweets. Kinda reminds me of myself! They’re well-behaved foals but every now and then they get into a little mischief when they’re together. Reminds me of when I used to babysit them. Good times! Now I’m sure you’re wondering about somepony very special in my life: my sister, Maud. Well she’s still dating Mudbriar, but they’ve been taking it quite slowly. Maud isn’t the type who likes to rush anything. She plods along at her own pace and likes to plan things out. She told me she’s still very happy to be dating Mudbriar and doesn’t want to rush herself into marrying him and having a kid real soon. Mudbriar’s the same way. I actually asked him once if he’s planning on proposing to her any time soon and he simply said he’s not ready. He wants to wait till he knows for sure that Maud would be ready to commit and for her to get adjusted with her new job as a geologist. I know I’ve been really excited about some of my friends starting families, but I also know Maud’s gonna to have to go at her own pace with her own relationship. I’m anxious to see what happens with them though. As for my other sisters: Limestone can be quite persnickety, so any stallion that has his eyes on her had better know how to treat her. She’s fine just being single for the time being and that’s cool. Marble’s too shy to really pursue a stallion right now. I think she kinda used to like Big Mac back when I introduced the Apples to my family, but she knows he’s married and it doesn’t seem to bother her. As for Twilight and Spike: they’ve settled pretty well in to the Canterlot life in the palace and Twilight’s been a terrific leader ever since they moved there. She’s been making great connections with all the other non-pony races and it’s great to see a lot of them learning from pony ways, especially pretty rough-and-tumble creatures like the dragons and griffons. I’m just so happy we’re spreading positivity beyond Equestria now! The griffons are getting a huge makeover with Griffonstone and dragons have really opened up to us and aren’t such bullies anymore. I can just feel the positivity flowing throughout the entire continent now! I think it’s my Pinkie sense reacting to the world around me. I just feel the positive energies of the world giving me strength every minute whenever I walk into a place that’s been affected by the friendship that Twilight’s been spreading. Hehe, sorry. Getting a little too deep for ya, huh? Well ya can’t blame me when I’m the Element of Laughter! Alright, before I go, I do have one teeny tiny little thing I wanna talk about. Remember when I said how Cheese Sandwich invited me to start traveling with him doing parties all over Equestria? It’s been going very well for the past few years! I never thought I’d enjoy doing this sort of thing and taking my parties abroad. Cheese really knows a thing or two about keeping a schedule for all these parties! I know I’m the one who inspired him to become a party pony, but he really keeps track of all this stuff without any formal teaching from me. I’ve actually had to take long absences from Sugarcube Corner in order to do it, but the party planning with Cheese definitely pays well too. We even got to do a party for Sapphire Shores’ birthday over a year ago and recently pulled one off for Coloratura/Rara in Ponyville! Whoops, sorry, I’m kinda getting off topic. That wasn’t the teeny tiny thing I mentioned, but it does have to do with Cheese. Well, I…I think I’m starting to have a weeeee bit of a crush on him. Yup. It’s funny cuz I think he’s got one on me too. Not gonna lie, I think he feels like we’re meant to do this party thing together forever, and not just as co-workers. I’ve been sweet on boys, but I’ve never had a real crush before and I’m kinda nervous about this. I don’t really have the strength to admit this to him yet, and he seems like he’s taking it one step at a time before he admits it to me. I mean I can’t blame him for liking me. I am pretty cute and all, but I’m also what caused him to realize what his true purpose in life is, and I even helped him recover his laugh a few years ago, so it’s no surprise he’d feel this way towards me. We both have so much in common and he’s very compatible with me. There’s got to be a spark between us that’s about to ignite a fire within. Eh, that’s a weird analogy cuz fire is hot and burns…actually that’s a perfect analogy now that I think about it. It is a fire…a passionate burning flame that can never be quenched. I think I’m in love. Darn it. Well, I’d better go before things get a bit too spicy. Here’s to more funnerific things to come! May Twilight’s reign be full of happiness and lots of big, complicated political things that I don’t understand getting done too! ~Entry 3~ HOLY MOLEY IN A CREAM-FILLED CANNOLI, I’M ON CLOUD NINE RIGHT NOW!!! Sorry, it’s just I’m so excited! Cheese asked me out!!! That’s right, folks: I have a boyfriend now! AAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH!!! Hehe, there I go again. For real though, I can’t believe Cheese and I are dating now! He’s such a great boyfriend! We go on a lot of dates to get ice cream and stuff and it’s soooo romantic! He’s such a great hugger and gift-giver! I’m so glad he asked me out cuz I would have been super nervous doing it myself! I was so super-duper happy when he did it! I was bouncing off the walls! He did it right after we were finished with some party business and then he took me out to eat and then asked if I could be his special somepony! Of course I said yes, I mean what would I say otherwise!? Man it feels so good to be dating a sweetheart like Cheese, but I can’t ignore even better news: MAUD AND MUDBRIAR GOT MARRIED!!! I was her best mare and I was so happy to be there for her when she tied the knot with him! The wedding felt like a reunion cuz so many members of the Pie family were there! I just can’t believe my sister’s already got a husband and will be expecting a kid soon! I’m going to be an aunt! AUNTIE PINKIE PIE!!! Oh boy, I’m just so happy about that I feel like I’m going to forget something. What else is there to talk about. Oh yeah, that’s right! Rainbow Dash and Thunderhead had another son named Lightning Flash not long after my last entry and she just had a daughter too named Misty Blitz! They have such cute kids I could burst! Stormy’s become a real feisty little kid too! He’s already got his cutie mark and he’s a little speedster just like his mommy! Dashie made a really tough decision recently and actually had to quit the Wonderbolts. It’s sad she isn’t with them anymore, but I’m glad she did it cuz she needed to settle down and spend more time with the kids so she’s a stay-at-home mom now. So proud of her! AJ and Tex haven’t had any new kids. I think they’re going to settle on Chip and Annie and that’s ok. Chip is really diligent and helps with apple-bucking and tons of other chores on the farm. Annie is almost always with him and just as helpful. They also both got their apple-themed cutie marks not too long ago! They both have apples that look the same but are different colors which is so cool! Kind of like the Cutie Mark Crusaders! Stormy, Chip, and Annie are also good friends with the Cake Twins. It’s so awesome seeing the five of them play together. Pound has really grown up and he’s kinda like the leader of the gang. When he’s in charge, his mischievous side kinda disappears so he can keep everypony in line. Pumpkin on the other hand is still a regular little goofball. I taught her well! Hehehe! Now on the topic of kids, let’s talk about Flurry Heart cuz I forgot to mention her in the past few entries! Flurry’s been doing great and has really grown up! She’s a great student and gets magic lessons from Starswirl the Bearded. She’s just as smart and studious as Twilight, but I worry cuz she seems a bit lonely being all cooped up in that castle in the Crystal Empire. She really wants to get out and make friends. I wish she could come to Ponyville someday and hang out with all the other kids. Twilight seems to think Flurry has a lot of potential and I can see her going on some grand adventure like Twilight once did. Her schooling is a bit demanding though and I hope she doesn’t get any summer classes. I gotta make more efforts to go visit her when I can. She and I are really close just like we were when she was born! Well since Cheese and I are dating, we’ve been working a lot more closely lately with the party business and I’m loving it! Traveling abroad has been pretty fun and who better than to do it with my sweetheart? Cheese really does bring out the best in me, and even though I’ve always been happy since the day I got my cutie mark, I think this is the happiest I’ve ever been! I just love the guy so much and he really loves me through thick and through thin. Hehe, funny I should mention that cuz I’ve gotten a lot plumper since the last entry too. I’m like a big pink marshmallow now! That’s okay cuz it makes for some great cuddling with the boyfriend! Hehehe! Alright, alright, I’ll stop gettin’ all mushy on ya. Cheese and I are busy planning another party and we’re thinking of visiting Ponyville in the weeks to come when summer starts. I’ll talk to you guys soon! ~Entry 4~ Hey everypony, this is Cheese Sandwich! Pinkie’s a bit too overjoyed right now, so I offered to write this entry for her. Anyway, big news: Pinkie and I are engaged! I proposed to her about an hour ago at the time I’m writing this and she said yes! I had the worst time getting the proposal ready cuz I was going to set up some huge show in the Cake’s house, but I lost some equipment I was planning on using for it and had to plan a song I was going to sing at the last moment. I was really stressed and out of my element though, so it never happened, but Cup and Carrot gave me some encouragement with proposals and I decided to just sit her down and have a little talk and then finally pull out the necklace and propose. Pinkie didn’t mind one bit that I didn’t do anything flashy for the proposal, so that’s all that matters in the end. It was just a memorable moment and she said yes. I’ve already spoken to a few friends and they’re willing to get started with the wedding planning and of course Pinkie and I are gonna be heavily involved with that as well. Twilight has also just been informed and she’s getting things set up to officiate the wedding. As it is tradition in Equestria, it’s scheduled to be held a few weeks after the proposal. We’re getting married some time in July this summer. Thankfully, Pinkie and I were planning on taking a bit of a break from some party planning for the next few months, so we’ve got plenty of time to get things ready and then go on our honeymoon right after. This is going to be the best summer imaginable! Can’t wait to be your husband, Pinkamena Diane Pie!
