> Strawberry Date > by BrawnyBold > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Strawberry Date > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feather Bangs sat on a small table at one of Ponyville's local restaurants. He wouldn't go to Ponyville unless he wanted to participate in one of the town's events or just to visit. This time was different as he got a blind date with one of the local residents in Ponyville. 'I gotta thank Sugar Belle for setting this whole thing up.' Feather thought as he remembered how all of this started. Sugar Belle thought that Feather could date some of the mares in Ponyville as they all seem nice. Sugar Belle said that she knows this one mare by the name of Strawberry Sunrise who is looking for a stallion to date. Obviously, Feather accepted Sugar's offer as she also mentioned that this Strawberry mare looked cute. Feather started to get nervous about taking part in this blind date. He wasn't sure if Sugar Belle's view of a cute mare was equivalent to his view. He took a look at the entrance to see a mare that matched Sugar Belle's description of Strawberry Sunrise. The mare was a light yellow, pegasus with curly red manes and green eyes. She looked around the restaurant until she spotted Feather. As the yellow mare got closer to Feather's table, Feather got more nervous by the minute. "Excuse me, are you Feather Bangs?" The yellow mare asked. "Yeah, are you Strawberry Sunrise?" Feather responded. "Yes indeed. It's nice to meet you." Strawberry replied as she offered a hoof. "It's nice to meet you too." Feather said as he shook Strawberry's hoof. Feather got up to pull out Strawberry's chair. "Here you go." Feather said in a polite manner. "Why thank you." Strawberry said with a giggle and took her seat. Feather returned to his seat so he and Strawberry could face each other. "No problem, anything for a cute mare like you." Feather said as he gave a charming wink. Strawberry giggled once again. "Sugar Belle was right when she mentioned you were always flirty to mares." Strawberry said. "That's true. It was too bad that she hooked up with somepony else." Feather said as his face showed some sadness. "It's alright." Strawberry said. "There are plenty of fish in the sea. That's why we're doing this date." "Thanks," Feather said with a smile. "It must be nice living in a small town like Ponyville. I too came from a small town where all of the ponies know each other." Feather said. "Ponyville is a great place for anypony who wants to live somewhere quiet. The only problems in this town would be the frequent monster or villain attacks." Feather only had a concerned look on his face. "I have heard that Ponyville experienced some strange events during recent years, but you make it sound like it's no big deal." "When you live here as long as I have, you would get used to it. Most of the ponies here are calm because we have Twilight and her friends saving us from disasters." Strawberry said. "Well, not every small town is perfect." Feather said. "I mean, my town used to be overruled by a mare named Starlight Glimmer who was opposed with cutie marks and equality." It was Strawberry's turn to form a concerned look on her face. "Everything is alright now," Feather assured. "Starlight gave up on her ideals and my village is doing fine. Heck, it made me to go back into poetry more." "Oh! You write poetry?" Strawberry asked in curiosity. "Yeah, it's kind of like my passion. I sometimes write about what bothers me or what I like about certain things. You probably think I'm girly for writing things like poetry." "Are you kidding, I think it's sweet." Strawberry said which caught Feather by surprise. "It's refreshing to see more stallions trying certain things that challenge the status quo." Feather couldn't help but blush from hearing Strawberry's praise. "T-thank you!" Feather blurted out. Feather and Strawberry were interrupted when a waiter trotted towards them. "Are you ready to order?" The waiter asked. "Oh right!" Feather said as he took a look at his menu. "I'll have the hay salad with ranch dressing." Feather said to the waiter. Strawberry looked at her menu. "I'll have...the strawberry sandwich with extra strawberries in it, strawberry lemonade with a slice of strawberry on it, and...a strawberry parfait." Strawberry also said to the waiter as he left to get their order. Feather raised a brow to hear such an odd order from a mare. "I guess you like strawberries?" Feather asked politely. Strawberry just stared at Feather for a while until she formed a wide grin. "Of course! I admire strawberries so much!" Strawberry said. "They are so sweet and tasty! Even though strawberries are small, it allows them to be easier to eat! Plus, they can go on any kind of food, especially deserts!" Feather did his best to process every praise Strawberry has given about strawberries. "I-I guess you have a point. Strawberries are good." Feather said while sweating nervously. He and Strawberry were interrupted when the waiter showed up with a plate full of food. "Here are your orders." The waiter said as he placed Feather and Strawberry's meals on the table. "Enjoy." The waiter said with a bow before he left. "Let's eat." Feather said as he and Strawberry took bites from their food. Feather felt glad to see Strawberry enjoying her strawberry meals instead of talking a lot about the fruit. "This is so good!" Strawberry said as she took another bite from her strawberry sandwich. "That's great to hear." Feather said while taking a bite from his salad. "Hmm! I love what this place does with the hay salads. Especially when they added apple cubes into it." Feather took another bite and noticed Strawberry was glaring at him. "What's wrong?" Feather asked Strawberry. "Did you just say...apples?" Strawberry asked sternly. Feather gulped. "Yeah, apple cubes were included in the hay salad. Is something wrong?" Feather watched as Strawberry gritted her teeth and one of her eyes was twitching. It took Strawberry a few seconds before she took a breath to calm down. "Nothing is wrong. Let's keep eating." Strawberry said as she took a big bite from her strawberry sandwich. Feather didn't know what happened with Strawberry. As he recalled, he only mentioned that his salad included apple cubes. "So I hear Ponyville was founded by some farmers who settled here a long time ago. That sounds interesting." Feather said to change the topic. "It was also because a lot of ponies came and traded in the area." Strawberry said while continuing to eat her food. "I know, right!" Feather said. "Who would've thought that a small town like Ponyville was created thanks to some zap apples." Feather then noticed Strawberry started to growl after hearing what Feather said. "Did I say something?" Feather asked in concern. He then Strawberry compose herself once again. "I'm completely fine, Feather." Strawberry replied as she took another big bite from her sandwich. Her eyes suddenly popped open and she started spitting out the food from her mouth. "Are you choking!?" Feather asked as he was prepared to run up to Strawberry and help her. She raised a hoof to stop Feather as she opened her sandwich to look at the content. "Waiter!" Strawberry said which caused the waiter to come to Feather and Strawberry's table. "Y-yes?" The waiter asked. "Can you explain to me why I have some bits of apple in my strawberry sandwich?" Strawberry asked as she showed the waiter the sandwich's content. "Oh! I'm terribly sorry, ma'am! I'll get you another strawberry sandwich and take it off your bill!" It was too late as Strawberry's face grew red from anger. "S-Strawberry?" Feather asked in fear. "Apples..." Strawberry muttered under her breath. "What?" Feather asked. "I...HATE....APPLES!" Strawberry screamed out and flipped the whole table from under herself. This caught most of the customers' attention as they watched. "It's bad enough that my blind date is eating apples and mentions apples to me, but now I find some bits of these monstrosities in my strawberry sandwich!" Strawberry said as she let out a loud roar. Feather and most of the customers were shaking from fear as they watched Strawberry throw her angry fit. "I hate apples! They're nothing but homes of nasty worms that makes anypony sick! What's worse, apples are ruining my strawberry selling business as most of the ponies here would prefer those instead of my sweet strawberries! They just want apples just because the Apple family apples are well known in the town! What about the other fruit sellers in town!? We need to make a living as well!" Strawberry growled again as she stomped her hooves out of the restaurant. Feather and the customers were left in shock from Strawberry's huge temper tantrum. Feather then noticed the damaged table that was on the ground. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know my date would act this way!" Feather pleaded to the waiter. The waiter just turned and looked at Feather. "Buddy, I was sorry that you had to go on a blind date with a mare like that." The waiter said as he went to inform the manager what happened. Feather ended up slumped on his chair from how bad things turned out for his blind date.
