The Galar Region.

Known to many as one of the most advanced regions known to the world of Pokémon. Already using steam-powered inventions, both humans and Pokémon are able to live in harmony as they continued to thrive.

Or, some were, at least...

Deep within the Slumbering Weald were two young adults, roughly nineteen in age each - a boy and a girl. Normally, the forest was silent to respect the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, but all could here the sound of panicked footsteps.

“Hurry, Olivia! They’ve almost caught up to us!” Jayson Stonehenge cried, picking up the pace slightly as the sound of branches breaking could be heard growing closer.

“I’m trying, Jay!” Olivia Fairclaw cried in fear, trying desperately to catch up to her newly- proposed fiancé. Eventually, they reached the monument of the legendary wolves, with nowhere else to turn.

“Jayson? I’m scared,” Olivia whispered, holding onto her fiancé’s arm tightly. “Why do they want you dead? You’ve done so much good to the region.”

“I don’t know, sweetie,” Jayson sighed. “I don’t - “

Suddenly, a grey creature popped from the bushes, it’s claws quickly fusing to become two daggers. “Perrsurker!” The creature cried, summoning forth two more of the same creatures and a man in a black trench coat.

“You know running is inevitable, Stonehenge,” the man spoke calmly. “Surrender now, and we’ll make this easier for you.”

“What do you want with him?” Olivia cried in fear.

“Liv, this isn’t - “

“ANSWER ME!!!” she yelled, tears beginning to run down her face as she held Jayson tighter.

“The King has his reasons,” the man answered. “Now - “

“There is no ruler over Galar,” Jayson spoke up. “The only one who over watches the region is Leon, and he’s not a king - He’s Champion.”

The man sighed. “I will ask you one more time, Stonehenge - surrender now. I don’t want to make this anymore complicated.”

“If you’re going to get him, you’ll have to go through me!” Olivia cried, tears now clearly running down her cheeks.

The man looked at her - was that pity on his face? - and sighed, before snapping his fingers. Almost immediately, comes came down from the trees and caught Olivia, leaving her hanging helplessly as she tried to fight back. Looking around, Jayson saw the reason for this - A Trevenant was looming in the background, using his ablilites to control the trees.

“No!” He cried, preparing to throw a Pokeball, but another vine came down and wrapped his arms, preventing him from getting help. “You can’t do this! Please!”

“I warned you, Stonehenge, but you refused to listen.” The man turned to the first Perrsurker. “Use Metal Claw.”

As fast as lightning, the Pokémon launched into the air, it’s claws entrapped in a metallic aura, only to be sliced into Olivia’s side.

“NO!!!” Jayson cried in panic, trying to fight the vines off to help his fiancé. “PLEASE, SHE DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!!!”

“Jayson...” Olivia whispered softly, her voice suddenly weak as her face paled.

Looking at his love, he couldn’t help but begin to cry as the light in her eyes began to dim...

“I love you...”

Before fading to nothing.

“NO!!!!” Jayson cried as he slumped to the ground, defeated as he began sobbing.

“Maybe next time you should listen to - “ The man started, but stopped when suddenly two flashes of light - one cyan, the other magenta - appeared before then, the light fading to reveal...

“Oh, shit...”

Zacian and Zamazenta, even without their armor, were intimidating Pokémon, and their eyes were rage-filled as they glared at the man and his Pokémon. Howling, they began to charge the man, who immediately backpedaled away as he began to run out of the forest. Before long, the only sound that could be heard was the sobs and sniffs from Jayson as he continued to cry.

Eventually, however, he rose of the ground and pulled out six Pokeballs. Throwing them into the air, he released his Pokémon- Noivern, Gardevoir, Lucario, Krookodile, Centiskorch, and his Starter, Lycanroc. Immediately, they saw Olivia’s dead body and began to comfort Jayson, who started crying all over again.

That is, until a voice spoke:

“Hoopa can help!”

Jayson, confuses, looked up to see a strange creature before him. It was the size of a small child, with a lavender and magenta color scheme, and had two large horns, each having a ring on them. There was another ring across its waist, but what caught his attention was its eyes - those mischievous, jade-green eyes...

“Have we met before?”

The Pokémon giggled. “For a little. I’m Hoopa!”

“Hoopa, huh? You said you could help me?”

“Mhmm. Hoopa sees Jayson-San is sad. Hoopa can take Jayson-San away from here to a better place!”

Almost immediately, Jayson’s Pokémon surrounded him protectively, leaving Hoopa in confusion before laughing.

“Hoopa isn’t going to hurt Jayson-San!” He laughed. “Hoopa will just take you somewhere better!”

“Are you sure it would help?”

“Yep!” Hoopa replies as he launched a hoop of his horn, which grew to an unnatural size. “Ale Hoopa Ring!” He cried as the ring became a portal. “Have fun!” Hoops cried before the ring engulfed Jayson and his Pokémon.

As he entered through the portal, the first thing he saw was a school almost directly below him, albeit smaller than expected.

The second thing he saw was blue all around him, with white here and there.

Third, he then saw a bird pass him, looking at them all with a strange expression.

It was then he realized he was falling from the sky into a new world, which he then proceeded to scream his head off as they fell.

Chapter 1: Introductions gone Wrong

Five Minutes Prior

“You okay, Sunset?” Twilight asked her friend as the two hopped off the bus, walking up the sidewalk towards their school, Canterlot High.

“Hm?” Sunset looked at her puzzlingly before flushing as she moved a lock of hair out of her face. “Sorry, Twilight. I’m just really caught up in my thoughts recently.”

“Anything you want to talk about, or...?”

“Maybe later, alright?” Sunset said as she slightly picked up the pace. “We should go catch up with our friends and - “

“Hey, guys! We were wondering when you were going to show up!” Pinkie Pie suddenly cheered, appearing between the two as she bear-hugged them both.

“We was wonderin’ what was taking y’all so long to show up,” Applejack said as she and the other girls approached the three. “Everything goin’ alright?”

“Yeah,” Sunset muttered as she rubbed her arm slowly - something everyone saw immediately.

“Darling, are you sure everything’s alright?” Rarity asked in a concerned tone. “It’s not like you to be down in the dumps.”

“Yeah! You’re always the one with a flaming desire to get stuff done!” Rainbow Dash shouted with her arms thrown in the air, before adding, “Not, you know, the way you are now.”

“Is there something bothering you, Sunset?” Fluttershy asked calmly. “We’re all here to help you.”

Sunset looked at all of them before breathing slowly. “Actually, it was a dream I had last night. I dreamt of two people running through a forest, but then one of them disappeared and the other one looked... depressed. He was then surrounded by six auras, each fluctuating with power, when one aura of even stronger power opened a portal and - “

Suddenly, as she was speaking, Pinkie’s ponytail began to twitch before she began shaking all over. “Twitchy tail doozy! Twitchy tail doozy!”

Immediately, everyone still outside ran inside for cover, trying their best to stay protected from whatever was about to fall from the sky.

Everyone, that is, except for Applejack and Sunset, who looked up to see if they could find it.

“Hey, Sunset? Am I going crazy, or...?”

“Nope, Applejack. I see it, too.”

Applejack sighed before straightening her stenson hat. “Guess we’d better check it out.”

“Yep,” Sunset sighed before they ran towards the portal that had just appeared in the sky.

“Hey! Wait for us!” Rainbow cried as she and the girls ran after them, realizing what they were doing too late.

“Goddamn it, Hoopa!” Jayson cried as he and his Pokemon freefalled to the ground. “Why do you have to teleport us into the - “

He paused suddenly, before mentally slapping himself and sighing. Wait, I have a Flying Type. Idiot...

“Noivern! A little help here!”

Noi!” He cried before swooping down to catch his Trainer. Jayson, after landing on Noivern’s back, pulled out five Pokeballs and pointed them towards his other Pokémon. “Everyone else, return!” He cried, which each Pokémon simultaneously flashed red before entering their specific Pokeballs. Once secured, Jayson then faced forwards. “Let’s find somewhere quiet to land, Noivern.”

His Pokémon nodded, then dived to the ground, which he proceeded to open his large bag-like wings and glide in between the trees before landing in a small clearing.

Jumping off of Noivern’s back, Jayson patted his head before throwing the Pokeballs again, bringing out his Pokémon as they took the time to relax for a little.

Jayson took the time to look at each of his Pokémon, and couldn’t help but smile, despite what just happened to him. He travelled to each region, hoping to get good Pokémon to not only protect Galar alongside him, but also to befriend. Thankfully, they were eager to join his team, especially his Partner, Lycanroc - which was not only a rare Dusk Form, but also even more rare because it was “shiny” - though he was confused by the context at first. Instead of having the orange coat, his Lycanroc has a blue coat, his eyes a pure teal color. Noticing he was looking, Lycanroc yelped happily and went up to him, who was been petted softly.

“Thanks, Lycanroc,” Jayson said softly before he started to tear up again. “She’s really gone, isn’t she?”

Lycanroc, though he looked upset as well, only nodded in response.

“And now we can’t even go to her burial,” Jayson added before the tears fell as he cried again.

Suddenly, Lucario and Lycanroc turned to their North before jumping up and growling, Lucario preparing Bone Rush and Lycanroc preparing Stone Edge. Each calling out, his other Pokémon responded the same, the most menacing being Centiskorch, who rose to his max height as his fangs charged with electricity.

“Guys? What’s going - “

“I think I hear something!”

Suddenly, a pink- toned girl jumped out of the bushes before seeing his Pokémon and stopping. “Oh, poo,” she stated before Gardevoir grabbed her while using Psychic and launching her back.

“I think I hear something!” Pinkie cried before she disappeared through the bushes, leaving the others behind confused.

“What, exactly, did she hear?” Sunset asked.

“No idea, but it’s weird how there’s no animals around here,” Fluttershy notes as she looked around.

“And the magic fluctuating here is astounding!” Twilight added, her meter beeping unnaturally fast. “What’s causing this to - “

Before she could finish, Pinkie was blasted past them into a tree, to which she cried out as she slumped to the ground. “

“Pinkie!” They cried as they ran up to her.

“Are you okay, darling?” Rarity asked as she helped her up.

“I’ll be fine,” Pinkie said as she rubbed her head and cracked her back. “Just some really weird creatures through there.”

“What!?” Twilight asked before Applejack charged through the bushes.

“What in tarnation did ya do that - “

Lucario!” the creature - a blue humanoid dog - cried as he slammed an energetic bone into her stomach, stopping her in her tracks as her breath was removed.

All of Applejack’s friends then came from the bushes, each one then gasping as the creatures launched some form of attack at them - a blue wolf with rocks in its mane launching at Rarity before slamming its head into her, a large bat-dragon sending sonic waves at Fluttershy, who cowered on the ground in fear, a humanoid with green hair entrapping Pinkie in telekinetic magic once more, a large fire centipede biting Rainbow Dash, momentarily paralyzing her, and a magenta crocodile with black lining over its eyes launching sand at Twilight, who couldn’t use her magic on it, and proceeded to slam its tail into her.

Sunset, however, was shocked at the man who stood behind the creatures. His face, his clothes, his posture...

This is the man from my dreams, she thought in surprise.

“Guys! That’s enough!” The man shouted. Though, as Sunset looked closer, he actually looked about 19 - just a year older than her. He had a tan complexion, with neck-length black hair that partially covered his face. He wore a black leather jacked and a purple-and-green jersey with the number 47 on it, along with a grey knit beret. He also had green sunglasses on, along with black denim pants and black and purple running shoes. Upon him speaking, nonetheless, the creatures looked at him before nodding and returning to him, although they still surrounded him protectively.

“I’m so sorry about that,” the man spoke in a light accent, indicating that of Great Bridle. “I hope none of you were hurt to badly.”

Gaining a groan from most of the girls, he sighed before looking at the humanoid. “Gardevoir, do me a favor and use Life Dew on them?”

The creature nodded before holding her hands out and encasing them with a blue-green aura, which also healed their wounds. The girls, surprised, stood up before looking at the boy again, who sighed once more.

“Again, my apologies for that.” He turned to look at each closely, as if he could see any more wounds. “Are you alright?”

“Well, we are now, no thanks to your... things,” Rainbow noted with an attitude, which got her a murderous glare from the centipede. “B-But that is for healing us, I guess.”

“Stand down, Centiskorch,” the boy said. “I don’t think they’re here to hurt us.”

“No, we’re not,” Fluttershy said cautiously.

“It’s alright, they won’t hurt you again. My name is Jayson Stonehenge. I’m from the Galar Region. Do you happen to know where I am?”

“Well, you’re in - wait,” Twilight said, suddenly confused. “Where are you from?”

“Galar? As in The Galar Region?” Jayson answered, only to get more confused faces. “You don’t know where that is?”

“Sorry, but no, we don’t,” Sunset responded. “But it’s a pleasure meeting you. I’m Sunset Shimmer. And this is Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash. You’re in Canterlot, right next to the school, actually.”

“Canterlot? Which region is that?”

“It’s not a ‘region’, it’s a city.”

“Of what region?”

“... We don’t have a region name, man,” Rainbow stated. “Different home, remember?”

Jayson looked at her confusingly. “How would you guess that?”

“You came through a giant portal in the sky, that’s how.”

“Look, girls, I know we have a lot of questions, but school’s about to start in ten minutes,” Twilight said, looking at her watch. “We should probably go before we get in trouble.”

“Agreed.” Sunset then proceeded to turn to Jayson. “Care to join us?”

“As much as I appreciate the invite, aren’t I too old for school?” Jayson asked, clearly confused.

“Eh, you‘ll be fine,” Rainbow said as she wrapped her arm around Jayson’s neck, to which Lycanroc began to growl.

“I-I’d prefer if you didn’t do that, actually,” Jayson stuttered, quickly stuffing his hands into his pockets as he looked down.

“...Right,” Rainbow stayed slowly. “Well, you look younger than you probably are... what are you, twenty?”

“Nineteen, actually.”

So I was right, then, Sunset thought with glee, then paused. Wait, why am I excited about that of all things?

“Yeah, I guessed right, then, since you look roughly seventeen. In that case, you should be fine, then.”

“So what are we waiting for? Let’s get to class!” Pinkie cried before speeding off through the bush, leaving Jayson and his creatures looking dumbfounded.

“Can any of you do that?” He asked, to which he received a no from each. “Interesting.” He then proceeded to pull out six red and white balls and held them out to each of them, saying “Return,” before they flowed red and disappeared into the spheres - except the blue wolf, who looked at Jayson defiantly.

In response, he only chuckled and patted his head. “I thought you’d wanna stay out, Lycanroc.”

Lycanroc!” the creature replied before the two began to walk out of the bushes as well - but it was then Sunset noticed a ring on his left finger.

“Wonder what that’s for?” She thought out loud before following suit, the bell slowly becoming louder as the school day started.
