> How To Charm A Bug > by ShowShine > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Meeting > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “You can do this, you’re cool, handsome, and stunning.” Zephyr Breeze encouraged himself, striking a pose. He held a bouquet of roses under his wing. He stood in front of Rainbow Dash’s cloud house, which was very large. He let in a deep breath and rang the doorbell. The door swung open, revealing a happy looking Rainbow Dash. When she looked at Zephyr, her smile turned into a frown. “Ugh, not this again.” Rainbow Dash said with a groan, rubbing the bridge of her nose. Zephyr Breeze held out the bouquet of roses with his wing. “Rainbow Dash, will you go out with me?” He asked, with a smile and a wink. Rainbow Dash gave him an irritated look and ran her hoof through her mane. “We’ve been over this, I’m lesbian. I dated your sister for like three years and I’m not into stallions. Even if I was into stallions, you’re just not my type. Now get lost!” Rainbow Dash explained. Zephyr’s ears flattened against his head. He put the roses back under his wing and hung his head low. “I understand, I should just go. To be all alone!” Zephyr exclaimed dramatically, putting his hoof on his forehead. “I’ll go see if Fluttershy can comfort my broken heart!” He exclaimed, before flying off. Rainbow Dash let out a sigh and shook her head before shutting her front door. Zephyr Breeze flew through the sky, holding the bouquet of flowers in his mouth. He flew towards the Everfree Forest, wanting to be alone for a bit. He had lied about going to see Fluttershy. He landed in a dark part of the forest, dropping the roses to the ground. “I don’t even know why I try at this point, she’ll never love me back,” Zephyr said to himself. His ears flattened and he sat on the ground, staring down at the dirt. He pouted to himself, just wanting to find someone to love him back. He had tried to go with other mares before but it never worked out. They all said that he wasn’t their type or he boasted too much. “I’ll never find love,” Zephyr said to himself, laying onto the ground. He stared up at the sky, looking at the clouds. The forest was always so quiet, despite all of the wild animals. He had lived in the forest for a short while and he only got attacked by a rabbit once. There was a rustle in the bush, making Zephyr sit up. He stayed quiet, hoping it wasn’t a Timberwolf. A tall black changeling with holes all over her body. Her hair was long and dark greenish-blue. She held a purple piece of wood in her magical grasp. “I need a way to defeat them.” She said to the piece of wood. Zephyr Breeze's heart started to pound in his chest and his cheeks turned pink. She was the prettiest mare he had ever seen. Zephyr Breeze sauntered over to her with a smirk, dropping the roses to the ground. “Hey pretty lady, do you wanna go out sometime?” Zephyr asked. The mare jumped back in surprise, looking at Zephyr as if he was crazy. “What are you doing here? Ponies are too afraid to be in this forest.” She said in surprise. “Well, that just shows that I’m the bravest stallion out there.” Zephyr boasted. The mare looked at him with a scowl. “Don’t you know who I am? I’m Queen Chrysalis!” She exclaimed, stomping her hoof. “You’re a queen in my eyes. Chrysalis is a pretty name too.” Zephyr complimented. Chrysalis gave him a surprised look. “I can kill you at any moment. Now leave me alone.” Chrysalis said coldly. When Zephyr didn’t move, Chrysalis rolled her eyes and started to walk away. Her stomach growled, making her hunch over in pain. She glanced at Zephyr and an idea popped into her head. “You want to take me out on a date, right?” Chrysalis questioned. Zephyr eagerly nodded his head. “Well we should get to know each other first, then we could go out on a date,” Chrysalis said with a fake smile. “Well my name is Zephyr Breeze, but you can call me yours.” He said with a wink. Chrysalis gave a forced smile, trying not to cringe at the terrible pickup line. “If you want to go on a date with me, show me how much you love me,” Chrysalis said with a toothy grin. Zephyr thought for a moment, thinking of what he could say. He picked up the roses he had dropped and held them up to her. “Pretty roses for a pretty lady.” He stayed with a grin. Chrysalis took the flowers from him and gave a smile. Her stomach growled loudly, making her clutch her stomach in pain. “You look like you’re hungry, we should go into town to get some hayburgers.” Zephyr suggested. Chrysalis shook her head. “I’m a changeling, I feed off of love.” She explained. Zephyr grabbed her hoof and kissed it. Chrysalis’ horn started to glow and she opened her mouth, eating up Zephyr's love. Once her stomach was full, she licked her lips and let out a belch. She looked down at Zephyr who stared at her with love in his eyes. “How are you not weak and tired from that?” Chrysalis asked. Zephyr tilted his head in confusion. “What do you mean?” He question. Chrysalis scratched her head in confusion. Usually, when she sucked the loved out of someone, they’d be exhausted but Zephyr looked fine. “This idiot is actually in love with me. We just met and he’s head over hooves for me. He has so much love for me that I could eat for weeks.” Chrysalis thought to herself. She couldn’t use him for a revenge plan, he seemed too dumb for that. She couldn’t just keep him with her either, he was too annoying and would drive her crazy. If she put him in a cocoon, his love would fade quickly and she would be left hungry again. “What should we do next my love?” Zephyr asked. Chrysalis didn’t want to deal with him at that moment and she had already eaten. “How about you come here at the same time tomorrow, and you can stay with me until the sun sets. Just don’t tell anyone I’m here or who I am.” Chrysalis commanded. She couldn’t risk being caught because he blabbed his big mouth. Zephyr gave a confused look. “Why not?” He asked. Chrysalis quickly thought of an excuse. “I’m really shy, I don’t want anyone to see me,” Chrysalis explained, hiding her face in her mane. Zephyr Breeze flew up to Chrysalis’ face and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. “My older sister is shy too, you don’t have to worry about a thing.” Zephyr sympathized. He blew Chrysalis another kiss before flying off of the ground. “I’ll see you later my love!” He said before flying away. Chrysalis watched him fly above the trees before looking at her piece of wood. “That was pathetic, wasn’t it?” She asked the piece of wood with an amused smirk. She stared at the wood, which stayed silent. “Well, at least he’s better than talking to a piece of wood,” Chrysalis said, tossing the wood a few feet away. She patted her full stomach. Now she was ready for tomorrow, excited to have another full meal. Rainbow Dash stood in front of Fluttershy’s cottage, knocking holding a card. She knocked on the door and it opened, revealing Fluttershy. “Hello Rainbow Dash, what brings you here?” Fluttershy asked. Rainbow Dash’s ears flattened and she looked down at the ground. “I came to bring this to Zephyr, I think I was a little too hard on rejecting him.” Rainbow Dash explained. “That’s very kind of you, but Zephyr Breeze isn’t here.” Fluttershy stared. Rainbow Dash cocked an eyebrow. “Really? He left my house an hour ago.” Rainbow Dash said, now confused. Fluttershy thought to herself. “Do you think he got lost again?” Fluttershy asked. Even though Ponyville was a small town, Zephyr had gotten lost in it countless times. Fluttershy looked over Rainbow Dash’s shoulder to see her brother flying towards her with a grin on his face. “Fluttershy, I’m in love!” Zephyr exclaimed, landing next to Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy let out an exasperated sigh. “You say that you’re in love with every mare that speaks to you,” Fluttershy stated. Zephyr shook his head. “This time she actually likes me, she asked me to meet up with her tomorrow.” He said with a proud grin. Rainbow Dash cocked an eyebrow. “Who’s this mare anyway?” Rainbow asked. Zephyr opened his mouth to answer but quickly shut his mouth. “She doesn’t want me to tell anyone, she’s really shy,” Zephyr explained. He opened his wings. “I’m going to go buy her presents!” He exclaimed before flying off. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash looked at each other in surprise. “Should we be concerned?" Fluttershy asked. Rainbow Dash waved her hoof dismissively and shrugged her shoulder. “As long as he doesn’t have a crush on me anymore, I don’t care.” > I Guess This Is A Date > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zephyr Breeze stood in front of the mirror, brushing teeth. He spit into his cracked sink and looked up at the mirror, winking to himself. He walked out of the bathroom, excited to see his new crush. He walked into his living room that looked run down. He had a faded orange couch with a lot of rips and tears in it. Next to the couch, there was an old brown table. On the table, there was a gift bag with hearts all over it. “Some sweets for my sweetheart,” Zephyr said to himself, picking up the bag and putting it under his wing. He walked towards his door, holding the bag in his mouth. He opened the front door, taking a step outside. A large rat ran in front of Zephyr, holding a carrot in its mouth. It let out a loud hiss and swiped at him before running off. Zephyr didn’t live in the best part of Cloudsdale. There was always crime and violence. “How do rats even get up here?” Zephyr questioned to himself. He shrugged it off and walked through his apartment building. It was badly built and everything was falling apart. An old blue stallion walked out of an apartment, holding a trash bag in his mouth. “Hi, Mr. Snowflake.” Zephyr greeted happily. The stallion scowled at him. “Get a job, you useless child!” He exclaimed, shaking his hoof in the air. “I do have a job!” Zephyr shouted back, walking away. He walked down the rickety stairs, listening to his various neighbor's fight. The stairs were old and chipped. Zephyr made his way to the bottom of the stairs, hopping off of the last step. He took the bag from under his wing and put it in his mouth. He walked out of the front door, which was ripped off of its hinges. Zephyr Breeze opened his wings and flew into the air, wanting to avoid getting mugged again. He flew high above the crummy apartment buildings. He had a large smile on his face, excited to see his new loved one. Chrysalis walked around the forest, levitating the piece of purple wood. She stopped walking and looked around. “Why do I feel like I’m forgetting something important?” She asked the piece of wood. An aquamarine blur fell in front of her, landing on the ground with a thud. Zephyr Breeze laid on the ground, his mane messily strewn on his face. He pulled his mane back into a messy bun and laid on the ground, wanting to stay there for a while. “Oh right, you’re here.” Chrysalis groaned with an eye roll. Zephyr quickly stood up, wearing a large grin on his face. He handed her the gift bag that had red and pink hearts all over it. “I got you something, Chrissy.” Zephyr said with a large smile. Chrysalis gave a look of disgust. “Don’t call me Chrissy.” She hissed out, taking the bag out from his hooves. She reached into the bag and pulled out a heart-shaped box of chocolates. “I know you only eat love, but you should try chocolate, that tastes good too,” Zephyr explained. Chrysalis reached into the bag again and pulled out a stuffed dog. It was brown with a drooping face and a big smile. Its arms were outstretched for a hug and ok it’s chest it said ‘I love you this much!’ in bold red letters. It looked pathetic. “Do you like it?!” Zephyr asked excitedly. Chrysalis opened her mouth to say something rude but stopped herself when she saw Zephyr's face. She didn’t want to admit it, but he actually looked adorable. “I love it!” She exclaimed, hugging the stuffed dog. Zephyr Breeze grinned happily. Chrysalis felt a warm feeling inside of her chest. ” Why didn’t I just insult him? His gift looks stupid. What’s this feeling in my stomach?” She thought to herself. She couldn’t be catching feelings for this pathetic welp. “What do you want to do? I can make us flower crowns. It’ll bring out those colors in your mane.” Zephyr explained running is hoof through Chrysalis’ mane. “It’ll be better than walking around the forest,” Chrysalis stated with a shrug. Zephyr grinned happily. “I’ll go find some flowers!” He exclaimed happily, flying off. He hit his head on a nearby low hanging tree branch, making him fall to the ground. He quickly stood up, wobbling a bit. “I’m okay!” Zephyr shouted before running off into the forest. Chrysalis giggled and her cheeks turned pink. She quickly shook her head. “There is no way I’ve fallen for him, especially after one day. I just enjoy his company. I’ve been alone for months.” Chrysalis said to herself. She looked at the pitiful looked stuffed dog and hugged it, blushing a bit. Zephyr Breeze tumbled through some bushes, holding flowers in his mouth. Chrysalis quickly hid the dog behind her back, not letting him see that she was showing affection. “I got some flowers to match your mane,” Zephyr said, holding up dark purple and light blue flowers. “Those flowers are too bright for my mane, the colors would clash,” Chrysalis stated. Zephyr shook his head, braiding the flowers together. “These flowers are going to go perfect with your mane. The colors are going to mix perfectly.” He said, finishing up the flower crown. He flew up to Chrysalis’ head and placed it on her head. He looked at her and his cheeks turned pink. “You’re beautiful,” Zephyr stated, breaking out into a grin. Chrysalis’ cheeks turned pink from embarrassment. This was the first time someone had ever complimented her. If she had ever gotten complimented, she was usually in a disguise or she ordered one of her subjects to. This was the first time someone truly loved her. “I think I’m in love.” Chrysalis thought out loud. Zephyr Breeze let out a gasp and broke out into a grin. “You love me?!” Zephyr asked in disbelief. Chrysalis crossed her arms and stuck her nose up in the air. “I was talking about the flower crown, not you.” She said, trying to hide her blush. Zephyrs ears flattened in disappointment before the quickly shot up. “You didn’t reject me, so I still have a chance with you!” Zephyr said confidently. Before Chrysalis could respond, a drop of cold water hit her nose. She looked up to see storm clouds covering the sky. “It’s always so hard to find shelter when it rains.” Chrysalis groaned out. Zephyr tilted his head in confusion. “Wait, you live in this forest?” He asked. Chrysalis nodded her head, feeling more water drip on her. “How about you stay at my place until the storm passes over? I could never let a lady stay in the rain.” Zephyr suggested. Chrysalis quickly shook her head, her cheeks turning pink. “I am not spending the night with you, I can handle rain.” She stated. There was a large crack of thunder and rain started to pour down, pelting both of them in cold rain. “Never mind, I’m staying with you,” Chrysalis said. Zephyr broke out into a grin and opened his wings. “Follow me!” He exclaimed, flying off. Chrysalis let out a sigh and followed him. This was going to be an interesting night. > An Eventful Sleepover > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zephyr Breeze and Chrysalis landed in an alley between two buildings in Cloudsdale. Chrysalis looked around to make sure that no one was around. “Why did you say we should land right here? This is far from my apartment.” Zephyr asked. Chrysalis gave a panicked look. “Do you see the way I look? Ponies are going to riot when they see me.” She whispered. Zephyr gave a sympathetic smile. “I know you don’t like the way you look but I think you look like a goddess.” He said with a wink. Chrysalis blushed and shook her head. “You don’t know who I am but other ponies do. I can’t be seen like this.” Chrysalis stated. She transformed into a green unicorn. She had a long red mane and a red tail. Her eyes were light green and she had a ladybug cutie mark. “There, now no one will freak out when they see me,” Chrysalis said. Zephyr let out a gasp and covered his mouth with his hooves. “You’re so cute!” Zephyr exclaimed, pulling Chrysalis into a hug. A large blush appeared on Chrysalis’ face and she pushed him off. “Just show me to your puny house and we can get this over with,” Chrysalis said with a snarl. Zephyr gave a smile and led his crush out of the alleyway. Chrysalis followed behind Zephyr, looking around. They were in the bad part of Cloudsdale. Ponies fought at every corner and there was trash all over the streets. She looked over to see two rats fighting over a piece of bread. Chrysalis grimaced in disgust. “You live here? I thought ponies were neat and kept everything clean.” Chrysalis said, looking around. Zephyr shrugged his shoulders. “Some places aren’t as nice as others. I live in this part of town cause I can’t afford to live anywhere else.” He explained. Chrysalis frowned. It never bothered her when ponies were in bad places but for some reason, seeing that Zephyr lived in a place like this made her feel bad. If the streets looked like this, what did his house look like? Zephyr opened the door to his apartment and threw his hoof out, showing Chrysalis his place. "This is my apartment!" Zephyr Breeze said excitedly. Chrysalis looked around the apartment in disgust. The apartment was rundown and everything was breaking down. The wooden floor was scuffed up and faded with cracks in it. The walls had mold on it and was dripping from the ceiling. The place looked like a dump. "You live in this filth?" Chrysalis asked in disgust. She lived in a hive filled with filth and this was somehow worse. Zephyr shrugged his shoulders and closed the door behind him, locking it. "It's not too bad once you get used to it. The bugs are good company and I like to water the moss." Zephyr stated. Chrysalis stuck out her in disgust. She looked down the hallway in that led to the rest of the apartment. It was very dark but she could tell the hallway looked just as bad as the living room. "Does anyone else live here?" Chrysalis asked. Zephyr shook his head. She let out a sigh of relief and quickly transformed into her regular changeling self. Zephyr looked up at Chrysalis with hearts in his eyes. He was staring at the prettiest changeling he has ever seen. Chrysalis' stomach growled, snapping him out of his daze. "Oh! You must be hungry. Where are my manners." Zephyr said. He flew up to Chrysalis' head and kissed her on the cheek. Chrysalis opened her mouth and sucked in the love. Once she was full, she licked her lips in satisfaction. "I should get myself some dinner too," Zephyr said happily, flying into his kitchen. He landed in front of the fridge and opened it, only to see a singular hot sauce bottle and half a jug of milk. He closed the fridge and opened the freezer. There were only a few full ice cube trays. Zephyr closed the fridge and walked around the kitchen, looking for some food. After several minutes of rummaging the kitchen, he had found nothing but crumbs and stale crackers. He sat in the middle of the kitchen, staring at the floor with a frown on his face. He looked at the kitchen entrance to see Chrysalis standing there with a look of concern on her face. "Do you not have any food?" Chrysalis asked. Zephyr dismissively waved his hoof. "It's fine, this isn't the first time I had a day without food. I can't go grocery shopping yet because I get my paycheck on Friday but I'll be fine." Zephyr reassured. Chrysalis' brows furrowed and she let out a huff. As much as she didn't want to help Zephyr, his life was pretty pathetic. He lived in the worst part of Cloudsdale, obviously didn't make a lot of money, and couldn't buy food for another three days. Chrysalis transformed back into the green unicorn and turned around. "Show me to the richest grocery store in Cloudsdale," Chrysalis ordered. Zephyr tilted his head in confusion. "You have bits?" He asked. "No, but I have a plan." Chrysalis and Zephyr stood in an alleyway next to a very large supermarket. They both poked there heads out of the alley, looking at the entrance. "What are we doing here? This is the most expensive grocery store in Cloudsdale, I can't afford anything here." Zephyr said. Chrysalis held her hoof up to Zephyr's mouth. "Shush, I'm waiting for someone to come out," Chrysalis said. The sun was setting so the streets were pretty much empty and there would be very few ponies shopping. A purple pegasus stallion walked out of the grocery store, pushing a shopping cart filled to the brim with paper shopping bags. The stallion approached the alleyway, getting ready to walk past it. Chrysalis transformed into herself and let out a low chuckle to herself. She hopped out of the alley, letting out a hiss. Her eyes glowed green and she showed her sharp fangs. Her tongue slithered out of her mouth, flicking saliva into the stallion's face. The stallion let out a loud scream and instinctively flew away. Once he was out of sight, Chrysalis let out a laugh and transformed back into the unicorn. "Dinner is served," Chrysalis said with a smile. Zephyr flew out of the alley and wrapped his arms around Chrysalis happily. He covered her cheek in kisses. "Thank you so much!" He exclaimed. Chrysalis' face turned bright red and she pushed Zephyr off of her. She walked over to the shopping cart and stood up on her hind legs to push the cart. "Let's go back to your apartment and unpack all of this food," Chrysalis said, starting to walk off. Zephyr followed his crush, letting out a dreamy sigh. He was in love with her. A very old scary movie was playing on the wall in the living room. Zephyr had a projector in a spare room and decided it was a good idea to play a movie. Zephyr sat on the couch, eating popcorn from a bowl. Chrysalis laid on her back with her head on Zephyr's lap. "Don't run towards the murderer you idiot!" Chrysalis exclaimed angrily. Zephyr let out a chuckle, making Chrysalis look up at him. Her heart pounded in her chest and her face turned red. This was the first time she had ever felt like this for someone. She had known Zephyr for two days but it felt like she had known each other for years. He had given her more affection than anyone had willingly given her in a thousand years. Usually, when anyone gave her love, it was because she was disguised as someone else. He loved her for who she was and didn't care what others thought about her. Chrysalis was in love with him. > Suspicions > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight walked around her library, sorting out books. She happily hummed to herself as she organized. The sound of a doorbell rang, making Twilight turn around. Who could that be? She wasn't expecting anyone. Her friends usually just walked in uninvited. Twilight walked out of the library and started to walk down the hallway. The sound in the castle was silent and the only sound was Twilights hooves tapping across the floor. After several minutes of walking, Twilight finally approached the front door. She swung the door open to see a purple pegasus with fluffy white hair. He looked like he was a few years older than Twilight and had a distressed look on his face. He also looked very sleep-deprived. "Princess, I'm so sorry that I'm disturbing you, but I have very important news." He said, clearly out of breath. It looked like he had flown all the way to Twilight's castle. "Last week, I saw Queen Chrysalis in Cloudsdale." He explained in a distressed tone. Twilight's eyes widened in surprise. "Queen Chrysalis? Are you sure?" Twilight asked. The stallion nodded his head. Twilight hadn't heard anything about Queen Chrysalis since Thorax became king. "She popped out of nowhere and hissed at me. I think she stole my groceries. Since then, I've been having vivid nightmares about her attacking me. I thought it was just a hallucination but it's stuck with me for too long. I think it was really her." He said with a shaky voice. Twilight cocked an eyebrow. Why would Chrysalis need groceries? She still fed off of love. Twilight moved to the side, making space for the stallion to walk in. "Come in, I need to hear more about this," Twilight said. The stallion shakily walked in and walked past Twilight. She needed to find out more details. Twilight paced around the throne room, holding a scroll in her magic. Her friends sat in their seats, all of them watching Twilight intently. "None of this makes sense, why would Chrysalis scare someone just to steal their groceries? She didn't even attack!" Twilight exclaimed. Rarity tapped her head with her hoof. "Twilight darling, are you sure that this poor stallion wasn't hallucinating?" Rarity asked. Twilight nodded her head. "I'm positive. I checked his memories with flawless spells and it was Chrysalis. The odd thing is, she didn't seem to have a motive. She didn't chase after him when he ran off." Twilight explained. "I say that she's doing the long haul. Scaring ponies one by one for something big." Rainbow Dash said with a slight sneer in her voice. "Whatever she's planning. we need to stop her." Twilight said sternly. "Applejack, search around Appleoosa, Rarity, search Manehatten, Pinkie Pie, search Yayakistan, Rainbow, search Fillydelphia, and Fluttershy, search Cloudsdale. I'll go to Canterlot to talk to the Princess about getting extra security. We can't let Chrysalis get away." Twilight said. Her friends nodded there heads and sprang into action. Twilight closed her eyes, preparing to teleport away. She needed to get to the Princess right away. Zephyr Breeze stood in a hair salon, holding a pair of scissors in his mouth and a comb under his wing. He leaned on a cushioned chair with a mare sitting in front of him. He ran his hooves through her long, dark blue mane. He pulled her mane up and started to snip off the ends of it. A bell rang out across the room, making Zephyr's ears perk up. Someone must have walked in. He didn't turn around, completely in the zone. A familiar soft voice snapped Zephyr out of his trance. He turned around to see his boss and Fluttershy talking about something. It looked like they were having a serious conversation. His boss shook her head and Fluttershy said something in response. He stuck his hoof up into the air and rapidly waved. "Hey Shy!" Zephyr greeted rather loudly, making the scissors fall out of his mouth. Fluttershy turned around and walked over to her younger brother. "Zephyr, I didn't know you had a job," Fluttershy said in surprise. Zephyr put his hoof against his chest and leaned on his client's head. His client made a slight noise of discomfort but didn't speak up. "I've had this job for half a year already and I'm doing great." Zephyr boasted with a smile. Fluttershy looked Zephyr in the eye and put her hoof over his. "Now Zephyr, I need you to listen to me carefully. Queen Chrysalis is somewhere nearby and I need you to stay safe. She's very dangerous so if you see her, go in the opposite direction. Don't do anything dumb, I know how you are." Fluttershy instructed. Zephyr slowly blinked, clearly spaced out. "I'll be fine. I'm brave and strong." Zephyr said with a wink. Fluttershy let out a long, annoyed sigh. "Zephyr, just stay safe," Fluttershy said. Zephyr got off of his client's head and picked the scissors off of the floor with his mouth. "Will do." He murmured out before turning around and continuing to cut his client's mane. Fluttershy let out another sighed and walked out of the salon. Zephyr had no idea what Fluttershy said, but it couldn't be that big of a deal. Zephyr walked into his apartment, taking in a breath of fresh air. Well, not really fresh, more mildewy than anything. Chrysalis laid on Zephyr's couch, staring at a single chip. All of her attention was on the chip. Zephyr walked over to her and kissed her on the head. "Hey Chrissy, what are you doing?" Zephyr asked. Chrysalis looked up at Zephyr. Her cheeks turned green with blush at the sight of him "I'm trying to eat a chip but the idea of eating is nauseating," Chrysalis said in a disgusted tone. Zephyr let out a chuckle. "You'll get there eventually." Zephyr encouraged. Chrysalis let out a sigh and placed the chip in the bag. "How was work today?" Chrysalis asked. Zephyr smiled and laid on the couch next to Chrysalis. "It was great, I got a lot of tips today. My sister came over and warned me about some 'dangerous villain' but I don't think I hafta worry about that." Zephyr said cockily. Chrysalis let out a chuckle and leaned her chin onto Zephyr's head. "You won't have to deal with anyone dangerous if I'm around," Chrysalis stated. Zephyr let out a happy hum and nuzzled his head deeper into Chrysalis' chin. Chrysalis closed her eyes, relaxing herself. They had been living with each other for the past week and everything had been going great. They were like a domestic married couple. Chrysalis loved sleeping on a soft couch and getting fed every single day. She wouldn't admit it, but she was fond of Zephyr. He treated her better than anyone she had ever met. It felt nice to get physical love too. It seemed like Zephyr was enjoying the company too. He was very passionate about Chrysalis. "Do you want to meet my family?" Zephyr asked. Chrysalis' eyes snapped open and she jolted upwards. She shook her head. "No no no, that would be a bad idea," Chrysalis said. Zephyr looked up at Chrysalis and frowned. "Why not?" He asked. Chrysalis looked down at him to answer but saw the sadness in his eyes. She couldn't just tell him who she was now. She had feelings for him and couldn't bear to lose him. "I've...done bad things in the past. I'm known as a bad changeling around Equestria." Chrysalis explained. Zephyr tapped his chin with his hoof, thinking for a moment. "How about you only meet my sister. She won't judge you, she's dating a reformed villain right now. You can be yourself around her and it can be a double date!" Zephyr exclaimed happily. Chrysalis thought about that suggestion. It wouldn't be that many ponies there and if anything went wrong, she could wipe their memories. "Fine, but only if it's somewhere private. Like a house or something." Chrysalis bargained. Zephyr broke out into a wide grin and wrapped his arms around Chrysalis' neck, peppering her face in kisses. "Thank you so much! This is going to be so much fun!" Zephyr exclaimed, now excited. Chrysalis let out a sigh. Maybe the date won't be so bad. > Preparation > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zephyr Breeze stood in front of Fluttershy's cottage, knocking on the door. The top part of the door swung open, revealing Fluttershy. She smiled when she saw her brother. "Zephyr, what are you doing here?" Fluttershy asked. Zephyr smiled and ran his hoof through his mane. He stood up on his hind legs and leaned on the door. "Me and my girlfriend want to have a double date tomorrow night," Zephyr said with a smirk. Fluttershy blinked in surprise. "You weren't lying about that?" She asked. Zephyr's face scrunched up in annoyance. "When have I ever lied about a girl?" Zephyr asked. "Well, there were your girlfriends "Very Real Mare", "Totally Not Fake", "Princess Celestia." Fluttershy started to list off. Zephyr waved his hoof, making Fluttershy stop. "Fine, I've made up girlfriends before but this one is real. We've been living with each other for the past week." Zephyr said proudly. Fluttershy gave a confused look. "Didn't you meet her last week?" Fluttershy asked. Zephyr nodded his head, letting out a hum of confirmation. Fluttershy was taken aback. Who would want to date Zephyr, let alone live with him? It drove Fluttershy crazy if Zephyr stayed with her for more than two days. "So can we have a double date here tomorrow night? Zephyr asked. Fluttershy slowly nodded her head, still surprised that her brother was dating anyone. "Sure, I'll talk to Discord about it. Meet here a little after the sunsets." Fluttershy instructed. Zephyr grinned and reached over the door to hug his sister. "Thanks Shy, you'll love her!" Zephyr exclaimed. He let go of the hug and flew off into the sky. Fluttershy shook her head. Anyone who willingly dated Zephyr had to be crazy. Zephyr sauntered into Carousel Boutique, swishing his tail back and forth. He saw Rarity standing on the opposite side of the room, making some adjustments on a dress. Rarity turned around to face Zephyr and gave a smile when she saw him. "Hello Zephyr, how may I help you?" Rarity asked with a smile. "I'm looking for a suit and a dress. Since my sister is one of your closest friends, I think I should get a discount." Zephyr said with a smug grin. Rarity's smile dropped and she let out a sigh, rubbing the bridge of her nose. "Just get something out of the bargain box." Rarity said in an exasperated tone. She pointed to a corner that was covered by thick, purple curtains. Zephyr walked over to the curtains and pulled them back to see a large cardboard box. He sat down on the floor and started to rummage through the box. After several minutes of searching, he found a tuxedo top, a white button-up shirt, and a light purple tie. He unfortunately couldn't find any dresses for Chrysalis because she was so tall. All of the dresses were built for mares of a normal height. Zephyr let out a sigh of disappointment. How could he show anyone how pretty his girlfriend is if she didn't have a pretty dress. Zephyr walked away, very upset. He slipped on a different curtain, making him trip. He stood up and peeked in the certain to see a white dress. It had tiny light blue gems on the chest, making a swirling pattern. The sleeves were short and smooth. The dress looked like it was meant to be long, but was burnt at the back. It looked like it would be able to fit Chrysalis perfectly. "Hey Rarity, who is this dress for?" Zephyr asked. Rarity walked over to Zephyr and peaked her head through the curtain. "That was for Princess Celestia but there were some complications. The gems are the wrong color, it's the wrong shade of white, the sleeves are all wrong, and Spike accidentally lit the dress on fire. It's beyond repair and I have to start all over." Rarity said dramatically. Zephyr gave a very large smile. "That'll fit my girlfriend perfectly, how much is it?" Zephyr asked. Rarity gave the stallion a confused look. What mare could be as big as Princess Celestia? "You can have it for free." Rarity stated. She levitated the dress off of the pony shaped mannequin and draped it over her back. She levitated Zephyr's clothes off of his back and placed them on hers. "Let me put this in a bag for you." Rarity said, walking away from the curtains. Zephyr followed a few feet behind Rarity, happily thinking to himself. Fluttershy was going to love Chrysalis. They were going to be best friends. Rarity placed a white bag in front of Zephyr. On the bag, there was purple cursive writing that said Carousel Boutique. "That'll be 12 bits." Rarity stated. Zephyr frowned. That much for a nice suit? He pulled out some bits and handed them to Rarity. He picked the bag up with his mouth and flew out of the shop. He needed to make one more stop before he went back home. Zephyr Breeze stood in front of Rainbow Dash's house. He knocked on the door with a smug look on his face. Rainbow Dash opened the door and groaned when she saw him. "I'm not going out with you." Rainbow Dash said in a deadpanned tone. Zephyr raised his hoof. "I'm not here to ask you out, I'm here to tell you that I'm over you. I have a girlfriend now." Zephyr said smugly. Rainbow Dash blinked in surprise and shock. "You weren't lying about that?" She asked in disbelief. Zephyr stomped his hoof on the ground. "No! Why do people say I'm lying about that?!" Zephyr asked. "Well, you did say that you were dating Princess Celestia." Rainbow Dash stated. Zephyr puffed out his cheeks. "Well I'm not dating a princess, I'm dating a queen. We're having a double date tomorrow night at Fluttershy's house." Zephyr explained in a 'matter of fact' tone. Rainbow Dash had to see this. There was no way a well functioning mare would want to date Zephyr. She must have been a mess. "How about we make it a triple date? I can bring Applejack with me." Rainbow Dash suggested. Zephyr thought to himself, putting his hoof on his chin. Two more ponies wouldn't be too bad. Rainbow Dash and Applejack were nice too, they wouldn't judge Chrysalis too badly. "Sure, just make to dress fancy. I already got a dress for my wonderful girlfriend and I don't want her to feel overdressed." Zephyr explained. He opened his wings and flew off of the ground. "I'll see you tomorrow night." He said before flying off. Rainbow Dash closed her door behind her and flew in the opposite direction. She needed to tell Applejack about this.
