> Chapter One: Cadance's Last Day of Rule

“Mnnnnghhhh… Wha… What the…” 

Princess Cadance groaned tiredly as she finally came to, even though it felt like the inside of her head had been repeatedly kicked around with several pairs of steel-toed boots. But despite the splitting headache that caused her body to shiver painfully, the Alicorn was still able to slowly reopen her eyes before lifting her head. After blinking a couple of times, the first thing to catch the Princess’ attention were the thick, crystallized bars that were encased around her while she was perched on the small platform. Of course, when she tried to lift her head up and get in a seated position, Cadance accidentally hit her head against the top of her cage. She winced painfully while rubbing the top of her head, which allowed her to feel her messy mane and the thick inhibitor ring that had been strapped to the base of her horn. “Ow! Darnit…” 

Unfortunately for the Princess of Love, her newfound consciousness didn’t seem to faze any of the ponies that walked past her, even as she found herself dangling from her crystal encasement as it hung off the ground like a bird cage. Instead, Cadance was left feeling rather gobsmacked as she blinked a couple more times, and finally took notice of how drastically the Throne Room had changed since she was knocked out. High above her head among the crystalized columns and chandeliers, countless insectoid cocoons had been erected and hung to leave the room with an eerie greenish glow; Cadance could see that pony-like shapes were nestled inside of those changeling-made capsules, but the thick lining of those gooey shells kept her from seeing who had been captured so far. And down below on the ground, many of the Crystal Castle’s staff and Guards were smiling mindlessly as they continued with their work, and mopped up the various globs of green ooze that had been dripping from the ceiling and splattering across the once-pristine floors. 

Cadance wanted to try and catch their attention, or just start shouting for help in hopes that somepony could hear her pleas. However, the moment she got a good look at the ponies below her cage, the Alicorn was quick to take notice of the ghastly green glow that was emanating from their wide-open eyes. And even as she tried to move around within the tiny confines of her imprisonment, not a single brainwashed pony even paused to look up at her with those vacant smiles. It may have not been the same kind of mind-control that King Sombra had tried in his attempted takeover, but the end-result was still desolate enough to make Cadance’s heart sink down to the pit of her stomach. 

“Aaaaaahhhhh~”

The very moment she heard that self-satisfactory hiss from behind her, Cadance felt her blood turn as cold as ice. Her head whipped around while she was hunched inside of her cage, and she grew a bloodthirsty glare upon seeing her captor face-to-face. Queen Chrysalis, who was now standing proudly without any restraints or signs of weakness, was grinning from ear to ear to fully expose her glistening fangs. And as her emerald eyes narrowed wickedly on Princess Cadance’s bound state, the Changeling didn’t pay any heed to the ponies whose heads lowered respectfully while trotting past her for their duties. Instead, all she did was tilt her head to the side like a horror movie slasher, and kept her cocky smile pointed at the Alicorn she had successfully claimed. “My, my, my… I’m not going to lie, Cadance. I wouldn’t have expected you to be so tenacious when it came to trying to muddle my plans~”

As she trotted up towards Cadance’s cage, the sounds of Chrysalis’ chitinesque hooves echoed faintly as they clacked against the crystal floors. One of the Crystal Castle Guards, who was busy mopping underneath Cadance’s cage when Chrysalis came up towards him, instantly took a couple steps back before bowing to his grinning Queen. Cadance could tell from his illuminated eyes that he was too compromised to think for himself, but that didn’t keep her from cringing painfully when she saw her officer submitting to Chrysalis without any obligation. But alas, as that sadistic Queen walked up even closer to her captive Princess’ cage, Cadance couldn’t keep her furious grimace from showing as she glared back at her.

“Actually, now that I think about it,” pondered Chrysalis as her head tilted the other way, and she asked Cadance with a curious smirk, “do you remember what happened before your capture? Because I know that you made it quite the challenge to take you down~”

Cadance didn’t say anything in response to her captor’s question, but she slowly reclosed her eyes before taking a deep breath to recollect her thoughts. In retrospect, the Alicorn had to admit that her suspicions regarding Shining Armor weren’t as sudden as Chrysalis likely would’ve hoped. But despite noticing how strangely her husband had been acting since she returned to the Crystal Empire, it wasn’t until he was holding his impromptu Physical Exams on the Crystal Guards that she realized something was truly amiss. Fortunately for their daughter, by the time Cadance was able to see what was really going on with the aid of some well-placed surveillance spells around the Crystal Castle and Guard Barracks, she had just enough time to teleport Flurry Heart to Twilight Sparkle’s castle for her safety. But sadly, the mare’s current predicament made it clear that despite her efforts, she wasn’t able to stop Chrysalis from completing most of her plans anyway. Nor was she able to outrun the Crystal Guards that Chrysalis compromised, which caused her to be caught in a net and tranquilized before she could leave the castle grounds.

“Honestly,” continued Chrysalis as she started to walk around Cadance’s hanging cage with a gloating stride in her steps, “considering what I had planned for you that night, I almost want to say I’m impressed by your fortitude! I mean, not many mares would be dedicated enough to actually hit their husband over the head with a baseball bat as soon as he enters the room. Although, given how I was going to have him divorce you on the spot, I suppose I can’t blame you for reacting a little preemptively~”

Cadance gritted her teeth as her pissed-off look intensified on her captor. While she may have known what Chrysalis’ plans for her brainwashed husband may have been, Cadance still had to keep herself from tearing up upon being reminded of that unpleasant outcome. The Guard who had been bowing to Chrysalis quickly stepped aside as she walked past him, and he went right back to mopping the floors while ignoring his captured Princess. Meanwhile, the Alicorn kept a deathly glare on Chrysalis while sitting in silence, not wanting to respond to the Changeling’s faux-complimentary tone. “And to think, you were able to do that after sending Flurry Heart off to your Sister-In-Law? Again, not a bad move on your part…”

Unfortunately for Cadance, Chrysalis’ tone of voice grew more malicious as she glanced back at her with an evilly wide grin, and she added venomously, “Ohhhhh, but don’t you worry, my ‘Princess’... Shining Armor and Sunburst have both been holding a strong barrier spell to encapsulate the city, so nopony will be able to break in or escape without my knowing. I also had the Crystal Guards hold an ‘Emergency Practice’ drill for the Empire, so none of your citizens are even aware of what’s going on just yet~ But by the time the trains start back up in the morning, I’ll have thousands of my slaves riding off to spread my eggs as far as they’re able to reach!”

Princess Cadance was doubtful that the Queen’s plans would come to fruition as smoothly as Chrysalis likely would’ve hoped, mostly since she made sure to send a distress message with Flurry Heart for Twilight to read. Unfortunately, as she looked over towards one of the broken stain-glass windows, Cadance tried not to wince when she saw how dark and gloomy the skies looked outside. She wasn’t aware of how far Chrysalis’ invasion progress had gotten, but she was certain that she already attained the Crystal Heart somehow. And as the chitinous fiend loomed in closer towards Cadance’s cage, her grin grew even more sinister as she said gleefully, “I’ve already taken full control of your Castle, your precious Guards, and your husband without any resistance so far. Heck, most of the ponies I’ve assimilated have even thanked me after they carried my eggs, despite how long they served under the two of you. Even if those Elements of Harmony realize what I’ve been doing, I seriously doubt any of them will be able to stop me by now~”

The last thing Cadance wanted to do was press her luck, especially when her captor effectively had her restrained without any defenses. However, as soon as she heard Chrysalis make such a boastful claim, Cadance huffed bitterly before asking, “Oh, really, Chrysalis? Do you seriously think that when Twilight learns what’s going on, that she won’t come down on your head like a guillotine?”

Even though Cadance tried to make that statement with a cold and unwavering glare on her foe, all that she received from Chrysalis was an unamused scoff and a roll of her eyes. “Oh, please!” huffed the Queen as she walked away from her captured prey, and began speaking in a more matter-of-fact tone. “Let’s be honest, Cadance. Has Twilight ever successfully stopped me? I left her completely broken-hearted the first time she tried to confront me, and the only reason I failed was because I was stupid enough to prove her right; if anything, I should’ve just had her turn on her friends and Celestia so she wouldn’t stop me. But the second time I tried to claim Equestria as my own, I managed to capture her AND every Royal pony without anyone batting an eye! And heck, none of you even knew about my attempts to tamper with the Tree of Harmony, and I did that over a year ago! So what makes you think that neurotic headcase like her intimidates me now?”

Cadance growled as her expression grew more furious, and her eyes narrowed on Chrysalis like she was envisioning the many, many ways she wanted to eviscerate her with her magic. But since Cadance’s horn was effectively locked with that inhibiting ring, Chrysalis just treated the Alicorn’s bloodthirsty glare like she was being given the stink-eye by a kitten. When she finally took notice of Cadance’s miffed expression, Chrysalis just gave a condescending “Dawwwwww~” while smirking back at her. “Won’t you look at that?~ It seems wike the widdle Pwincess doesn’t wike her Qween just yet!~”

Cadance wasn’t sure which part of that response was more unsettling -- the fact that Chrysalis worded it in such a mockingly ominous way, or that her statement actually caused several of the brainwashed ponies in the room to start laughing. When she looked around the claimed Throne Room, Cadance winced as she saw how many of her former staff were still smiling so aimlessly with their minds under Chrysalis’ control. Since she hadn’t seen a single pair of those green-illuminated eyes pointing towards her, she was sure that any chance of assistance from them would be impossible. But the moment she heard the massive doors to the Throne Room opening up, Cadance instantly tried to shout through the bars for whomever was entering the tainted space. “HELP!!! WHOEVER IS THERE, PLEASE HELP ME!!! CHRYSALIS HAS THE CASTLE, AND SHE… she…”

As if the fact that Chrysalis let her try and scream wasn’t a large enough Red-Flag, the reveal of who entered the Throne Room caused Cadance to sigh painfully and save her breath. The two stallions who entered the room were Sunburst and Flash Sentry, who both had their eyes brightly lit with their Queen’s ghastly green magic. Their smiles were just as wide and thoughtless as the other ponies preparing the Throne Room, and they didn’t show any signs of alarm upon seeing Chrysalis grinning towards them. Instead, Sunburst just smiled like an idiot as he waved up at Cadance and said, “Oh, good afternoon, Cadance! We were hoping you would be awake before our Queen’s ceremony started~”

Cadance wanted to shout for Sunburst to snap out of his brainwashed mindset, but she merely sighed a second time while gripping the bars of her cage with a look of defeat. Even if she somehow was able to get to him, the idea of Sunburst being able to save her from this predicament seemed as fruitless as vacuuming a dirt road. Her situation seemed even more dire when she glanced over at Flash Sentry, who looked to be just as compromised as the Royal Crystaller. “Oh, and don’t worry, Cadance,” noted Flash with a friendly tone of voice as he smiled up at her, “Shining was only knocked out for a couple minutes, and he’s perfectly fine now. He didn’t receive any brain-damage from that strike, and he told me himself that he already forgave you.”

Despite what the Guard may have said, Cadance still groaned with her head hung low while trapped in her cramped cage. Unfortunately, the Princess’ morose state didn’t seem to strike a chord with either of the brainwashed stallions, as Sunburst lit up his horn to float up a small stack of papers. “Ummm… should we wait until later to have Cadance sign these forms, my Queen?” he asked Chrysalis while his brows were raised over his glasses. “I mean, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind having her do it during the ceremony if that pleases you.”

“Hmmmmm…” Chrysalis rubbed her chin in contemplation as she lit up her own horn, and snatched up that stack of divorce papers Shining had previously shown to her as a Thank-You gift. She grew a devilish smirk as she looked between the officiated forms, and the sight of Cadance’s defeated state while she sat silently in her cage. Even though the idea of having the Alicorn perform such a mortifying act would’ve been entertaining, Chrysalis eventually shrugged and tossed the papers aside. “Ehhhhh, you know what?” she said with a casual smirk before eyeing Cadance maliciously. “I already have her caged-up, and took away everything she has. As far as I’m concerned, I already won~”

Cadance wanted to be grateful she wasn’t being forced to sign those divorce papers, but still gritted her teeth while glaring at Chrysalis with murderous intent. But to Sunburst and Flash Sentry, their former leader’s peeved expression didn’t keep the two from bowing respectfully before the Changeling. “Well, a victory is still a victory, my Queen,” said Flash pridefully, which caused Cadance to cringe with her eyes clenched shut; but sadly, she still heard him say without any remorse in his tone, “And we couldn’t be happier that you’ll be in charge from now on, Chrysalis~”

“Daaaawwwww, such a little hoof-kisser, you~” Despite that demeaning term, Chrysalis still smiled warmly as she leaned down towards Flash’s bowing stance, and patted the top of his helmet like he was an obedient pup. The Queen then added with a more mischievous smirk that widened across her muzzle, “But still, I appreciate your enthusiasm, soldier. Maybe after I finish up with Shining and Cadance, I’ll give you another filling of my brood~”

Cadance’s eyes widened in fear after hearing what her captor said, and her worrisome gaze turned towards the Queen while she was preoccupied with her two slaves. While Sunburst’s tail wagged about excitedly in his bowed position, Flash looked like he just won the lottery from how wide he was smiling up at Chrysalis. “R-Really?!” he asked with a downright giddy tone of voice, and his body already squirming in need before his Queen’s hollow hooves. “Do you really mean that, my Queen?”

Chrysalis chuckled under her breath while grinning evilly down at her soldier. “Why, of course I do~” she purred with a wickedly-wide smile, which was then pointed towards Cadance so she could witness the Queen’s true abilities. “Although… I’m fairly certain that Cadance wouldn’t mind seeing how much you two wish to be my Brood-Stallions~”

Without any prompting, Chrysalis had her hoof presented both Flash and Sunburst while grinning back at their former leader. “Gentlecolts~” she said as she narrowed her eyes maliciously on Cadance and her worried-looking stare, “give my hoof a good polishing while I talk to the prisoner~”

“Yes, my Queen!” shouted both of the ponies at the same time, before they instantly lunged in and began to desperately lick their Queen’s hoof. Cadance’s jaw dropped as she gawked at the sight of one of her top soldiers, and her Royal Crystaller shamelessly licking the hoof of a previously sworn enemy. And while the two stallions kept trying to push each other aside and lick more of that glistening chitin, Chrysalis just reeled her head back while laughing maniacally from her perverted display. Meanwhile, all of the other castle staff didn’t even bat an eye to what was happening, and just trotted past Chrysalis with mops and carefree smiles on their faces. 

“Ooooooh, you still feel confident about your friends, Cadance?~” she asked mockingly while giving the Alicorn a shit-eating grin. “I had your husband doing this for me less than five minutes after he tried to confront me in the caves by himself! I also had him swear his allegiance to me before he helped capture Sunburst, and even he couldn’t resist my eggs after I did the same with him! I managed to overtake your military forces in less than a day, and you REALLY think you can stop me?! Look at where I’m at right now!~”

Cadance may have despised the Changeling Queen with every fiber of her being, but her clenched muzzle still trembled a bit from the looming fear that was settling in. Meanwhile, Chrysalis continued to stare the Princess down while keeping her hoof extended out, and making her see the two stallions fighting to lick her hooves so shamelessly. “And you know what else I managed to do?~” asked Chrysalis as her smile grew more meticulous, and Cadance’s expression grew more terrified with each passing second, “I also had a very loyal associate back in the Changeling Kingdom working under me without Thorax knowing a thing! And he just informed me that the traitorous King has just been taken down himself! And you know what that means?~”

Cadance’s eyes shot wide-open, and her breaths grew slightly hiccupped due to the mortifying implications which came from Chrysalis’ claim. She didn’t want to believe that King Thorax had been compromised as well, but she couldn’t see any hint of dishonesty in Chrysalis’ fanged grin while she eyed Cadance. But while the Princess’ face started to pale in worry, her captor pulled her hoof away from Sunburst and Flash’s muzzles so they could speak again. “Gentlecolts!” barked Chrysalis with a randy grin while her hoof was coated in a thick sheen of their combined saliva. “Would either of you mind telling Cadance what Thorax’s capture means for us?~”

Sunburst was the first to speak after he took a deep breath, and then looked over at Cadance with a content-looking smile. “It means that the Changeling Kingdom is under our Queen’s control again!~” he said with an overzealously cheerful tone. “AND, we were able to revert the traitor Thorax so he’s a Brood-Incubator too!”

Flash Sentry shuddered with a jealous blush, and said with a flustered smile, “Man, I’d give anything to be in his position right now~ He’s almost as lucky as Shining!”

With how optimistically both stallions sounded while saying such horrible things, Cadance was growing more uneasy as she frantically looked around her tiny cage. But even as the Alicorn tried to pull on the crystal bars with urgency, none of her efforts seemed to worry the Changeling Queen grinning at her. Instead, all that Chrysalis did was turn away from her two mindless subjects, and leaned in close to Cadance’s cage to say with an especially cocky purr, “Ohhhhh, and don’t you worry, Cadance… By the time I fill your womb with the same eggs I impregnated your husband with, you’ll be begging me to do the same with Flurry Heart~”

That terrifying thought caused the Alicorn to freeze up for a split-second in her cage, before she went absolutely nuts and tried to break free. “HEEEEELLLLLLPPPP!!! SOMEPONY HELP ME!!! PLEASE, PLEASE GET ME OU--MMMPHHH!!”

Without warning, a thick black muzzle guard was floated out with the aid of Sunburst’s magic to instantly wrap around Cadance’s face. Much like when she and Shining had been overthrown by King Sombra, the Princess had no way to scream out for help the moment that leather cup was tightly clasped over her mouth. And even as the Princess tried to trash and squirm away from her Crystaller’s magic, Sunburst maintained a surprising amount of focus as he latched the restraint over his former leader’s muzzle. “Aaaaaaaand, there!~” With the straps tightly bound in place, and an additional spell placed on the latches so Cadance couldn’t undo them herself, Sunburst beamed pridefully as he smiled back up at Chrysalis. “There you go, my Queen! Did I do good?~”

“Oh, you did absolutely wonderful!~” While Cadance continued to try and shriek muffledly through her gag, Chrysalis patted the top of Sunburst’s head while he had himself bowed before her. Meanwhile, Flash Sentry turned his focus away from his Queen upon hearing something, and glanced back at the still-open doors of the Throne Room. Upon seeing the Guard’s reaction, Chrysalis stopped petting Sunburst’s head to ask, “Is something the matter, soldier?”

“I certainly hope not,” chirped Flash with a smile, before he looked back at Chrysalis and said cheerfully, “Because I think Shining is ready to begin!~”
As he and others turned their attention towards the entrance, Cadance’s eyes widened upon catching the unsettling glow of Chrysalis’ Changeling magic that was fully illuminating the stallion who used to be her husband. Meanwhile, Shining Armor didn’t show any discomfort as he waddled his massively swollen form down the middle aisle of the Throne Room with a blissful smile. Cadance nearly wretched when she caught sight of her Ex-Spouse’s enlarged and lumpy barrel, which was leaving his torso hanging mere inches from the floor due to the sheer weight of his Queen’s fertilized brood. However, as the stallion lumbered in closer towards Chrysalis and her subjects, it didn’t take long for Cadance to notice that his stomach wasn’t the only part of his body that was altered due to his Queen’s influence.

With each step Shining took down the aisle, the flabby flesh around his backside jiggled due to the added girth which was given to his rump. Instead of the slender and muscular physique that Cadance remembered him for, Shining now had a much wider form that accentuated his plump cheeks, and made his voluptuous waist sway back and forth like a mare in a rap video. Due to the high volume of luminescent eggs inside of Shining’s body, Cadance was able to see how much the stallion’s body had been altered due to his stomach glowing his features like a nightlight. Of course, as the Prince-turned-Slave came in closer by her cage, Cadance gawked upon seeing the many, many ropes of drying cum that clung to the fur across Shining’s full-bodied form. 

“Aaaahhhh, there’s my fertile Slave!~” After giving the briefest nod of acknowledgement down at the bowing Sunburst, Chrysalis turned her attention towards Shining as she went up towards him. With the way Shining beamed so happily upon seeing his Queen, Cadance winced painfully from how genuine his smile appeared. Even though she knew that he was thoroughly brainwashed to serve that chitinesque fiend, Cadance couldn’t do anything to stop him from bowing his head, and allowing Chrysalis to pet his mane like she had done for the other slaves. “And I must say, the Guard Medic’s regenerative spells worked wonderfully, Shining! I can’t even tell where that bat hit you~”

“Th-Thank you, my Queen,” said Shining with a sheepish smile before he pulled his head back up, and tried to stand pridefully before Chrysalis. However, since his spouse was still seated in her cage just a few feet away from them, Shining’s smile faltered a bit as he looked between his Ex and his current Leader. “Ummm… Permission to make a request, Chrysalis?” he asked her with a worrisome look, which seemed to be enough to make Chrysalis sigh with a sympathetic roll of her eyes. 

“You know what? Considering how you look right now, I’ll grant permission.” Chrysalis then bent her head in, which allowed Shining to lean in and whisper something into her ear. The Queen’s brows rose up in surprise, and she gave a brief glance back at Cadance who was still glaring murderously in their direction. Even though she gave a smug-looking smirk back at the fallen Princess, she didn’t try to stop Shining as she nodded to his request, and then watched as he turned his attention towards Cadance in the cage.

“Cadance, I… I truly didn’t want things to end this way…” Shining carried a genuinely honest and remorseful tone as he looked up at the cage, and tried not to look too hurt from the nasty glare Cadance was silently shooting him. But despite knowing she likely wasn’t too willing to hear him out, Shining sighed with his eyes closed before speaking more optimistically. “But… If it means anything, I just want you to know that Chrysalis really has made me feel better about myself. I know it’s a silly thing to say out loud, but… but becoming her Brood-Stallion has really given me a better purpose in life! And if… and if you really love me, you’ll be able to accept that this is what I really want for myself~”

Cadance looked far too appalled by her Ex’s current state to really show much sympathy for his “apology,” and just narrowed her eyes on him while seething bitterly. Unfortunately for the Alicorn, her pissed-off expression barely seemed to faze Shining as he looked up at her with a blissfully vacant smile. In an unexpected twist, Chrysalis used her magic to temporarily undo Cadance’s muzzle guard, and freed her mouth so she could give a fitting response. Even though she didn’t want to dignify Shining’s excuses by saying anything, that last comment he made caused Cadance to tilt her head and ask disapprovingly, “Oh, so being a husband wasn’t good enough for you?! Being a FATHER wasn’t good enough?!? You just had to surrender to your literal RAPIST, and throw away everything to be her egg-sack?! IS THAT IT?!?”

Chrysalis rolled her eyes with an offended scowl, clearly not a fan of the ‘R’ word being used in reference to herself. As for Shining, who blushed rather deeply out of embarrassment, he sheepishly looked away from his former spouse before giving an uneasy shrug of his shoulders. “I mean… When you word it like that, it sounds pretty bad, but…”

Cadance gritted her teeth as she groaned hard from such a pathetic response by the Ex-Prince. Meanwhile, Chrysalis stepped in to place a comforting hoof on Shining’s shoulder, and spoke in a faux-reassuring tone while eyeing Cadance intently. “Oh, don’t worry about her, Shining… As soon as our marriage ceremony is concluded, I promise she’ll be more accepting after I impregnate her myself~”

Cadance’s eyes widened as she gasped in shock, and she reeled back from the two quickly enough to hit the back of her cage. Her hooves were trembling in fear, and she looked around in horrified realization upon seeing what was going to happen. Not only had Chrysalis compromised Shining enough to make him divorce his wife, but she was somehow able to get him to remarry her in front of Cadance like some sick cuckold fantasy. But despite how dire her situation may have looked, Cadance tried her hardest to remain vigilant as her voice struggled not to quake. “Y-You… You won’t get away with this! As soon as Twilight and my Aunts find out--”

“Yes, as soon as they find out~” Chrysalis said in interruption before looming in closer towards Cadance. As the Alicorn tried to keep her muzzle from quivering in fear, her captor’s grin grew even wider as she spoke in a cockily venomous voice. “But right now, your precious Princesses won’t be able to stop me. The barriers around this city are crafted by Shining himself, and can’t be broken without Changeling interference. And since Thorax has already been compromised in the Changeling Kingdom, that means that there’s no way for anypony to break through and try and save you. And by the time any help does arrive…”

By the time she made that pause, Chrysalis’ muzzle was peeking through the bars of Cadance’s cage while she showed off her glistening fangs. Cadance could’ve easily kicked her in the face, but she had grown too petrified in fear to move from her huddled stance away from her. Because of that, Chrysalis smirked smugly with a huff before pulling away from her cage, and looking back at Shining with a smile. “Slave? Would you mind telling Cadance what will happen to her by the time Twilight shows up?”

Cadance made the mistake of looking at her Ex-husband, who was still smiling disturbingly wide as he replied to his Queen without any worry in his voice. “Well... you’ll certainly have some more babies for Twilight to spoil~” he noted with a cheeky shrug, not seeming to notice how much that comment terrified Cadance to hear. “In fact, you’ll probably be holding more Changeling eggs than I have! And just to think, when Chrysalis helps you see the light, you’ll probably be ordering Twilight to give Flurry back as well! I know she could use som--”

“NOOOOOOOO--MMMPH!!” Cadance tried to scream out against Shining’s plans for their daughter, but Chrysalis was quick to reapply her muzzle-guard and muffle her pleas once more. Shining’s ears pulled down a little out of worry, but he seemed to be put at ease when he looked back at Chrysalis and saw her confident grin. Even as Cadance thrashed around in her bindings and tried to free herself, her fruitless efforts were of no interest to the Queen who enslaved her. Instead, Chrysalis turned her attention back towards Sunburst and Flash, who were still standing obediently for her approval and attention. 

“Sunburst?” she asked with a brow raised curiously towards him. “Are the pheromone canisters ready to disperse?”

“Yes, my Queen!” chirped the unicorn with an enthusiastic nod that matched his smile. He pointed a hoof towards the equally elated-looking Flash Sentry before adding, “He just placed all of them around the streets himself!”

“Excellent!~” After giving both of the stallions some much-appreciated head-pats with her hoof, Chrysalis grinned obscenely wide as she looked back at Shining and said, “If that’s the case, then I don’t see any reason not to begin the festivities a little earlier than expected~”

Shining and the other brainwashed stallions all gasped excitedly, with the former Prince smiling like a colt who was just given an early birthday present. “R-Really?!” he asked with an unbelievably happy tone, which caused Cadance to gawk at him in disgusted shock. “You really mean that, my Queen?”

“Absolutely~” Chrysalis could tell that Cadance was staring at both of them in growing dread and worry, but her eyes remained pinned on the stallion she claimed from her as she spoke in a broodingly eager tone of voice. “Since your former spouse is already awake, I feel like she should witness first-hoof how effectively I can overthrow the Crystal Empire on my own~”

The Changeling Queen then looked back at Cadance with an especially gleeful grin, before she said maliciously, “And for starters… Let’s see just how well your subjects will respond when I have your precious Shining Armor surrender to me publically~”

Before Cadance could take a moment to process what Chrysalis was planning to do specifically, she felt herself being lifted up as Sunburst’s magic took hold of her cage. As the stallion smiled vacantly and lifted up his former Leader, Shining had to take a breath to keep from growing too overwhelmed in joy. Fortunately, the Ex-Prince kept his composure as he heard his Queen say with firmer authority, “SHINING! Dispel the Emergency Tests, and issue out an order for all the Crystal Ponies to wait at the Crystal Heart!”

While Cadance stared at Chrysalis in horror, and Shining beamed up at her excitedly, the Queen’s evil grin was at its absolute widest as she said with a satisfied purr, “Since today is the day of my Coronation, it seems only fair for you to lead the proceedings with a parade~”

Well… I can safely say that this is the worst moment of my life…

Princess Cadance wasn’t able to say that statement out-loud while the muzzle-guard was firmly locked over her face, but that thought certainly rang truthful enough in her head. Considering all the defeats and heartache she had to endure in her life as Equestrian Royalty, there were certainly a lot of moments where she felt hopeless and afraid. But even after being locked in the Canterlot caverns before her wedding, being thrown into Tartarus without her magic, and having her family held hostage by King Sombra, Cadance could undoubtedly claim that her current predicament was the worst. Not only had she been captured by her own Guards, and locked in a cage like some sort of animal by Queen Chrysalis, but now she could only sit and watch as her former husband was about to give away everything they had to that twisted fiend. 

Even though the Crystal Heart was running strongly by its own magic in the center of the Crystal Empire, the skies above carried an ominous greyish hue to indicate a storm was looming near. But despite that foreboding forecast, Cadance was able to see the glow of her subjects as they congregated around the Crystal Heart. It had only been a few minutes since Shining casted out the announcement for the Crystal Ponies to gather at the center of the Empire, but it seemed that their hours spent under lockdown prompted them to act rather quickly for this event. Cadance would’ve wished for anything to warn them about what was to come, but it was hopeless to think about such a thing while she was bound in her floating cage, and being lead towards her Empire’s doom like a sideshow attraction. 

Her cage bobbed up and down a couple times while it was being held by Sunburst’s magic, but the unicorn’s magical skills seemed to have improved greatly while under Chrysalis’ influence; either that, or the former Crystaller was placing more emphasis on his magical focus in hopes of being on the receiving end of Chrysalis’ Ovipositor again. Either way, the stallion carried a disturbingly blank smile as he trotted down the crystal street without a care in the world, and followed his Queen who had taken the lead in her impromptu parade. While the Changeling lead the charge towards the Crystal Heart, and the dozens of brainwashed Crystal Guards followed her in a couple of organized rows, Cadance was seated right behind her captor as she was being led towards her fate. 

Despite the fact that Chrysalis was taking her time with slow and methodical steps, her soon-to-be-husband was still having difficulty walking beside her as he waddled helplessly. Even if the former Prince wasn’t swollen with his Queen’s eggs, Shining’s altered physical state was enough for his steps to falter a bit from inexperience. Instead of the slender and muscular physique he once carried, Shining now had to walk with a noticeably more swayed trot in his step to make up for his voluptuously enlarged rear. If Cadance wasn’t being held prisoner by her egg-addicted spouse, she likely would’ve been okay with seeing a little more meat on Shining’s bones; but right now, all that the Alicorn could do was struggle not to cry while hovering above the rows of compromised soldiers marching around her. 

“Aaaaaahhhhhh… Such a lovely day for a Coronation~” purred Chrysalis to herself as she lead the march towards her destination. Shining was panting a little due to his difficulty breathing, but he still gave an enthusiastic nod in agreement up to his Queen. Meanwhile, Chrysalis made sure to shoot a cheeky glance back at her captive Princess, and smirked upon noticing Cadance’s nasty glare. “Hmph~ Go ahead and keep staring, Prisoner. I know you’re jealous~”

Cadance’s eyes narrowed on the Queen more intensely, and she let out a brief groan through her muzzle-guard before looking away from her with a scowl. Unfortunately, her aversion from her captor wasn’t enough to keep Chrysalis silent. “And just to think, you’re going to get a front-row show when the takeover begins! Honestly, I think you should be ready for the fun I’m about to have~”

A sharp huff could be heard through Cadance’s muzzle-guard as she rolled her eyes, and she crossed her hooves over her chest. Chrysalis tilted her head curiously, but maintained a confident smirk upon seeing her prisoner’s response. “Oh, what’s that look about? Aren’t you excited to see me take your crown like I should have done years ago?~”

Since Cadance was still effectively silenced in her bondage, all the Princess could do was look back at her with an unamused glare, and shook her head slowly towards the Queen. Meanwhile, the pregnant Prince-turned-Slave decided to speak up for Cadance’s sake, and said up to Chrysalis, “Ummm… I think she’s just nervous, my Queen. I mean, you remember how I was when you first came to me, right?”

“That’s very true,” remarked Chrysalis with a thankful smile down at Shining, which made the stallion blush sheepishly with a goofy smile. “However,” she then added sharply, “I feel like Cadance isn’t too confident in my abilities just yet…”

When she turned her attention back towards Cadance, the Queen could see her eyeing the crowd of Crystal Ponies who could be seen in the distance. The combined glow of their crystalized and luminescent bodies intensified as more of them gathered around the Crystal Heart, and their magic auras combined to help strengthen the beacon’s powers. Even though the magic was fairly fruitless against Chrysalis at the moment, the Princess was eyeing the display with a look of determination on her face. But despite how the Alicorn may have looked, Chrysalis’ cocky smile didn’t falter in the slightest as she asked, “Oh, Cadance? Might I ask what’s catching your attention right now?~”

Again, since the muzzle-guard was still firmly clasped around her face, all that the Princess could do was give a split-second glance back at her captor before shrugging her shoulders. Chrysalis’ grin widened a little as she narrowed her eyes on Cadance, and then asked, “Oh, let me guess… You think that the Crystal Ponies won’t approve of my presence, and will try to rebel against me. And then while I’m fighting them off, you’ll find a way to use your magic and activate the Crystal Heart and stop me. Is that correct?~”

Cadance blinked a couple times, and tried not to let her expression change too drastically while staring back at Chrysalis. Unfortunately for the Alicorn, her pupils shrunk the tiniest bit from hearing that correct guess her captor made. Meanwhile, Chrysalis just chuckled in delight as she watched some of the color pale from Cadance’s face, and then looked back ahead while continuing their march. “Well, I’d hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Sunburst and your Ex-Husband already prepared for such an outcome. Isn’t that right, Shining?~”

Shining Armor kept a chipper smile as he nodded enthusiastically, and smiled back at his fretful-looking spouse to explain. “That’s right, Queen Chrysalis! Since the Crystal Heart is the only way to stop this invasion, Sunburst had the idea to set up pheromone bombs in advance. It’s meant to help ponies lose their inhibitions and become more… accepting of various things~”

As Cadance’s eyes began to widen in fear, her ears twitched as she heard Sunburst speaking up from behind her. “It’s actually quite a fascinating chemical reaction invented by our Queen!” he chirped gleefully while keeping Cadance’s cage steady in his aura. “It’s the same kind of substance that’s found in Chrysalis’ eggs, which makes them so amazing to feel inside of the Equine body. And since I swore my allegiance to her, I was able to craft an airborne version of the chemicals to disperse out at will, and help everypony to see how amazing Chrysalis is as our new leader!~”

Cadance’s heart shot up to her throat, and her panicked reaction wasn’t helped when she heard many of the Crystal Guards cheering to Sunburst’s statement. The Princess’ horrified gaze returned towards the Crystal Heart, and the crowd of hundreds of Crystal Ponies that were becoming more visible in the distance. She had no idea what was going to happen if those bombs went off, but she was certain that any plans of escape would be futile if they did. But alas, before any bright ideas could come to the Alicorn’s head to try and stop the mass drugging of her subjects, she heard Sunburst’s voice calling out from behind, “Flash Sentry! I think we’re good to set them off!~”

“Great!” shouted the brainwashed pegasus, who pulled out a remote control from underneath his armor. Since the Guard was right behind Cadance’s cage as part of her “escort,” the Princess was able to look back at him just as he smiled excitedly, and pressed the red button with his hoof.

BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!!

The multiple explosions were intense enough to make the ground underneath Chrysalis and her new subjects shake like an earthquake. Cadance gasped in horror as she looked back towards the Crystal Heart, which was now concealed by the thick plume of dark green smoke that enveloped the entire space like a chemical attack. Her hooves shot up over her muzzle-guard as she heard the countless screams and panicked gasps from the Crystal Ponies, along with the numerous gasps and coughs from whomever was unlucky enough to inhale too much of Chrysalis’ pheromones. Cadance almost looked like she wanted to cry, and winced painfully from the sounds of her subjects all struggling within the attack her husband willingly committed alongside their captor. 

Fortunately enough, the Alicorn felt a light tap from the back of her cage before Flash Sentry said reassuringly, “Don’t worry, Cadance. Sunburst did a lot of tests, and there’s absolutely no way those bombs will be fatal. I promise you that none of the Crystal Ponies are hurt~”

Even though that detail was fairly comforting, Cadance didn’t show her enthusiasm as she stared back at the Guard with an intense grimace. Chrysalis may have not been intimidated by the claimed Princess, but Flash certainly cringed worriedly as he stepped back from her cage. Meanwhile, Chrysalis merely chuckled after seeing her pheromone bombs being activated so successfully. “Ooh, you know what’s interesting?~” she asked before peering back at Cadance with a wickedly wide smile. “Since that muzzle-guard you have on has a breathing filter, you’ll be the only pony not affected by my pheromones just yet! Which means while everypony else has their fun, you’ll be the only one who gets to witness my greatness through sober eyes~”

As Cadance looked back at the grinning Queen with a more disturbed look on her face, she could already hear the Crystal Ponies’ screams and coughs dying off fairly quickly. The thick smog of Chrysalis’ smoke bombs were still lingering around the Crystal Heart, but Cadance wasn’t able to hear any sounds of despair or fear anymore. Slowly, she and the others were able to hear new sounds that began to surface within the greenish smoke; particularly, they could start to hear childish giggles as they marched in closer towards the smog, as well as enamored moans and sultry whispers too faint to really make out. Of course, by the time Chrysalis’ pheromone-laced smoke finally started to dissipate, those sounds intensified even more as the aftermath of the Changeling’s plan was fully revealed. 

Cadance, as well as most of the brainwashed ponies around her, all gasped in shock as they caught sight of what Chrysalis’ bomb did to the Crystal Ponies. In less than a couple minutes, the Changeling pheromones were potent enough to turn the crowd of standing ponies into an absolute frenzy of mindless, lust-added savages. Adults of all ages and genders were quick to start rubbing up against one another, and were growing increasingly frisky as they began to grope each other’s bodies while giggling incessantly. Fortunately for Cadance’s sake, it seemed that Sunburst had enacted a small alteration to the pheromone strain that affected the younger ponies differently. While most of the adults started to make out with each other and grow more aroused with each passing second, most of the Crystal Pony children were rolling around on the ground and laughing like they just took an entire bong hit; it may have still been horrid to have kids in the presence of their parents and neighbors eager to start fucking above their heads, but at least the adults were keeping to each other while losing themselves to Chrysalis’ pheromones. 

 “Oh, WOW!~” beamed Shining Armor as his eyes grew as wide as his mesmerized smile. Even though he should’ve been appalled by the sight of his subjects all succumbing to a mass orgy around the Crystal Heart, he was grinning from ear to ear while standing alongside his egg-giving Mistress. “Can you believe it?!” he gawked excitedly as he looked up at Chrysalis with pure optimism. “The Crystal Ponies are all so happy now! There’s no way they’ll oppose you now, my Queen!~”

While Chrysalis threw her head back to cackle victoriously, Cadance's jaw tried its hardest to drop in shock inside of her muzzle-guard. Her eyes couldn’t look away from the hundreds, if not thousands of Crystal Ponies who were indulging with one another like some Caligula-esque orgy. Even with her snout inside of the safety of her breathing filter, she was somehow still able to smell the musk that was starting to waft out from the countless stallions who were growing erect from their sheaths. Mares of all sizes and ages were beginning to grow wet while rubbing themselves and each other, and their kids continued to laugh in hysterics below their hooves like nothing was amiss. The sight was shocking enough to leave the Alicorn in a completely appalled state, and she could only watch the carnage ahead of them while her hooves were clasped over her muzzle-guard in stunned silence. 

Of course, the Princess jolted with a surprised gasp as she heard several trumpets blow out in unison behind her cage. After the brainwashed Guards made that booming display to catch the Crystal Ponies’ attention, the “parade” continued on as Chrysalis and her claimed subjects marched on towards the Crystal Heart. Even though most of the compromised citizens were still rubbing each other and moaning weakly, their sights were pinned towards the grinning Changeling Queen who was practically prancing towards them with glee. And right by her side was their former Prince, who was waddling more notably with a bloated gait while grinning in excitement. 

“ATTENTION!” he bellowed out with a tremendously cheerful tone, before he managed to balance himself well enough to wrap a hoof around Chrysalis’ foreleg in solidarity. “As your former ruler of this wonderful Empire, I would like to have all of your attention for this momentous event in our history!~”

Despite the unsettling image of Queen Chrysalis standing freely alongside Shining, or the sight of their Princess being held in a cage right behind them, the pheromones that were dispersed caused many of the Crystal Ponies to smile and applaud to their Prince’s enthusiastic tone. Meanwhile, Princess Cadance could only sit in growing turmoil as she witnessed her very subjects losing their sobriety -- and eventually their personal freedoms -- without even the slightest hint of worry in their blank expressions. Due to how potent the Queen’s smoke-bombs really were, many of the Crystal Ponies were still groaning in arousal and groping each other while their Prince continued to speak before them.

“For far too long, our nation has kept itself blind to the wonders that await past our own species. But after reuniting with a former enemy, I’ve been able to truly understand the potential that Changeling magic can do for our society, as well as for ourselves. Before today, I may have been alright with leading the Crystal Empire as best as I could. But on this day, I couldn’t be happier to announce that our times of struggle will be no more!~”

The Crystal Empire may have not had many instances of “struggles” outside of villainous conflicts, but Shining’s sentiments were convincing enough to receive a strong round of applause from the intoxicated Crystal Ponies gushing before him in the crowds. From her higher vantage point, Cadance was able to see several pairs of Crystal Ponies slipping down to the ground to get more intimate with one another, with their writhing bodies being completely ignored by any of the younger citizens still rolling around in hysterics. The sight of her subjects all losing themselves so carelessly before Chrysalis’ invasion was nothing short of disturbing for the captured Princess to see. But since her muzzle was still firmly locked shut, all she could do was sit and listen to her fallen husband while a couple tears of defeat beaded at the corners of her eyes. 

“To all of my Crystal Ponies,” he said with genuine conviction as he stepped away from his grinning Queen, and presented her like he was a game show host revealing the grand prize for his subjects. “Let me be the first to officially welcome our newest leader to the Crystal Empire, and eventually to Equestria as a whole! Everypony, I would like to present your Queen in all of her magnificent glory: Queen Chrysalis!~”

If those pheromone bombs weren’t dispersed earlier on, Cadance would’ve likely expected to hear horrified screams and uproars of protest from how enthusiastically their Prince was selling them out. But with their minds thoroughly warped and clouded in intoxicated bliss, the only thing the Alicorn heard in response to Shining’s declaration were strong rounds of applause and cheering among the Crystal Ponies’ incessant moans and giggles. The crowd gathered before Chrysalis’ hooves were as disorganized and carnal as one would expect from a group who had been laced with Changeling pheromones; but from the new Queen’s perspective, she couldn’t have looked more content as she smiled proudly before her captured subjects, and waved her hoof regally to their unorganized applause. 

“Thank you! Thank you all for accepting me as your new Ruler!~” Given how enraptured the Crystal Ponies were all acting, it was doubtful that even a fraction of them were aware of just how dire their situation had gotten with the invasion of such a ruthless Queen. But alas, Chrysalis still spoke out with unbridled glee as she stood before the crowd with a wide and victorious grin. “Changelings may have felt the need to change themselves to appease to lesser beings, but that doesn’t mean we can’t revive the former glory we once carried with pride! And with all of your help as willing slaves, I know that we can bring back our kind with a force even Thorax wouldn’t have fathomed! The Crystal Empire may be the first city I’ve claimed for myself and the Changelings, but rest assured that we’ll all be able to conquer this nation, and make a Hive that transcends the Alicorns themselves!~”

The Crystal Ponies didn’t even pause to process what their new ruler just said, and just applauded wildly while indulging each other even more in their inebriated states. As the mood among the audience grew more animalistic, Cadance could barely watch as she watched her former subjects rolling over each other and thrusting without caution. Mares and stallions alike were moaning out more intensely as random ponies mounted their backs, and started fornicating out in the open due to the effects of those pheromones. Chrysalis’ grin widened as she eyed the spectacle she created with great satisfaction, absolutely loving how deeply the ponies were succumbing to her inflicted actions. And since the only pony willing to stop her was unable to free herself from her bondage, Chrysalis paid no attention to Cadance’s morose state as she turned towards the brainwashed Prince. 

“Shining Armor!” she belted out dominantly as she stood before the stallion, and motioned for him to follow her command. “As the new Queen of the Crystal Empire, I hereby order you to surrender yourself before the Crystal Ponies!”

Despite how horrified Cadance may have looked with tears finally streaming down her face, she was completely ignored by the cheering crowd while Shining Armor obeyed his Queen. The egg-stuffed Prince closed his eyes as he bowed himself shamelessly before Chrysalis, and spoke out pridefully over the moans and laughter of his former subjects. “Queen Chrysalis! As the former Prince of this Empire, and now your willing Slave, it’s with my deepest pleasure to officially renounce my Royal Status before you all!~ I am a Prince no more, and shall devote the rest of my life to being your Brood-Stallion! From this moment on, I hereby reject my Equestrian rankings, and surrender the Crystal Empire to be under your rule as Queen!~”

Even though she already understood how deeply her former spouse had fallen before the hooves of their captor, Cadance’s head still hung in unrelenting shame after hearing Shining proclaim such horrifying things without a shred of remorse in his voice. And worst of all, the uproarious applause from the Crystal Ponies, as well as the Crystal Guards all around her cage, only intensified the helpless dread which made more tears trickle down the Princess’ face. But as the Alicorn sobbed silently in her bondage, clearly anticipating a fate worse than death at the hooves of Chrysalis, she couldn’t bear to reopen her clenched eyes and see Shining bowing before that Changeling. Fortunately, that action meant that Cadance wasn’t able to see her Ex-Husband openly kissing the hoof of Queen Chrysalis among the entranced crowd. 

As the former Prince’s lips remained firmly planted to the underside of her hollow chitin, Chrysalis’ grin couldn’t have been wider while savoring the applause of her momentous victory. But even with her conquest in check, the Changeling couldn’t resist lighting up her horn to summon some familiar items that were formerly in Shining and Cadance’s living quarters. Among those items were Shining’s golden-plated armor, his former spouse’s tiara, and a framed document that Cadance would’ve immediately recognized as their marriage certificate.

“Now then!” Chrysalis placed the items before Shining’s hooves, and allowed him to stand back up while motioning down to their Royal regalia. “Shining Armor, as your first act as my official slave, I hereby order you to destroy the items of your past, and show the Crystal Ponies how deeply you wish to relinquish your former freedoms!~”

Shining didn’t even pause to reflect on the emotional significance those items carried, and nodded his head with a prideful smile. The former Prince lit up his horn brightly with his pink magic, and lifted up his golden plating to hover before his compromised subjects. Hig magic grew tremendously bright as the temperature of his aura increased, and eventually caused the metal of his armor to warp and deform from the intense heat. With Chrysalis watching in approval with a domineering grin, Shining made a quick effort to destroy his most valuable regalia without any regrets, and leave the armor a useless hunk of metal that fell to the ground like a crushed soda can. The armor was something many of the citizens’ most skilled craftsponies created within days of Shining’s appointed rule, but there didn’t seem to be any horrified screams from the Crystal Ponies while it was being tarnished before their glowing eyes. In fact, their applause only grew louder after the armor was tossed aside, and Shining brought his attention to his spouse’s tiara.

Cadance opened her eyes for only a split-second, and instantly winced as she saw Shining preparing to destroy the crown gifted to her by Celestia herself. The moment Cadance reclosed her eyes and whimpered pathetically, she heard her Ex-Husband’s enthusiastic grunt as he pulled his forelegs off the ground. The egg-swollen slave didn’t even look back at Cadance before he lifted his body up high, and then brought his hooves down to give a brutal stomp to that delicate piece of jewelry. Cadance may have been fortunate enough to keep from seeing her crown being crushed under Shining’s hooves, but the metallic snap and crunching still caused her ears to twitch uncomfortably among the sounds of her subjects applauding once more. 

“Wonderful, wonderful!~” Chrysalis used her magic to float up that framed document, and was quick to pull out the parchment that carried Shining and Cadance’s official marriage certificate. As she hovered the pristine paper before Shining’s blank smile, Chrysalis grinned evilly before saying, “Now then… As soon as you proclaim your marriage with the former Princess to be null and void, we shall continue the celebration so that we can be wed!~”

That time around, Shining did pause for a brief moment to glance back at his former wife. Unfortunately, all that the stallion saw was Cadance hunched-over with her muzzle pointed to the floor, and a small puddle of tears growing larger between her quivering forelegs. But despite how heartbreaking that image should’ve been to the Ex-Prince, Shining only sighed sympathetically before looking back at his Queen, and taking the document with his hoof with an affirming nod.

“Very well, my Queen…” Shining closed his eyes to take a deep breath, and then stood on his hind-legs so that the Crystal Ponies could bear witness to his massively swollen body. He held out his marriage certificate with both hooves while presenting it to the crowds, and then proclaimed with disturbing conviction, “From this moment on, I am no longer a married stallion! For I, the former Prince Shining Armor, am willing to show my devotion to my Queen, and announce this marriage to be invalid!~”

With a simple pull of his hooves, the marriage certificate was torn in half with a single rip that caused Cadance’s heart to do the same. Even with her Ex’s mind being thoroughly morphed and deformed by Chrysalis’ twisted whims, Cadance knew that there was no going back to what they had before. Shining was truly lost to her now, and there was nothing she could do to stop him as he gave away their entire marriage before the cheering crowds. While there may have still been the slightest glimmer of hope that she could be rescued by Twilight or the Royal Sisters later on, Cadance knew that the relationship she had with Shining would likely never be saved.

Flash Sentry tried to lean in close to Cadance’s cage to say sympathetically, “It’s alright, Cadance. Maybe you can be Chrysalis’ broodmare after this! Wouldn’t that be nice?~”

If her heart and soul weren’t thoroughly tarnished by Shining’s debaucherous actions, Cadance would’ve likely had the energy to kick Flash in the face. But as she sat among the sea of encaptured ponies as the lone sober prisoner, all that Cadance could do was close her eyes and await her fallen fate. Meanwhile, she was able to hear Chrysalis’ booming voice as she called out to everypony, “HAH!!~ I’VE FINALLY DONE IT!! After years of isolation and failure, I can finally say without hesitation that I won!! I WON AGAINST PRINCESS CADANCE, AND STAND VICTORIOUS BEFORE YOU ALL!! THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE IS NOW MINE!!!~ AAAHHHHH, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAA!!!~”

The Ex-Princess wasn’t sure how long her captor’s maniacal laughter lasted for, but it rang on for a long while among the Crystal Ponies’ mindless applause and cheers. She felt her cage moving about once more, but she couldn’t bear to open her eyes and witness what had become of the Crystal Empire through the remainder of Chrysalis’ “Parade.” Instead, the Alicorn hoped more than anything that her daughter was still safe and out of harm’s way, even as she was being escorted throughout the Crystal Empire to endure the remainder of Queen Chrysalis’ celebration of conquest. 
> Chapter Three: The NEW Royal Wedding

Princess Cadance wasn’t sure how long she spent within the tight confines of her cage, but it felt like several hours had passed throughout the entirety of Chrysalis’ sadistic “parade.” Since she refused to open her eyes after witnessing her former husband’s mortifying declarations of surrender, all that Cadance could do was remain hunched in her restraints while struggling to ignore her captor’s smug victory. But alas, in the hours she spent cooped-up in her cage, her ears ended up ringing painfully from the incessant cheers of her brainwashed citizens indulging in Changeling pheromones, as well as the constant blaring of her former Guards’ horns throughout their marching. While she knew that things could have been worse for herself, the entire experience made her wish for the solitude of Tartarus when she was banished there alongside her Aunts. 

After a while, the constant noise that battered on Cadance’s eardrums turned to a monotonous hum that she was fortunate enough to block out while sitting stoically. Unfortunately, the Princess could still remember flinching a few times as she heard random muffled explosions during the parade. She could only assume that those were more pheromone canisters placed around the Crystal Empire by Sunburst, just to ensure that the entire city was inebriated under Chrysalis’ twisted plans. But since she still had that muzzle-guard locked over her face, Cadance remained the only pony in the Crystal Empire who wasn’t too high from pheromones to ignore the Changeling invasion taking place. 

By the time the sun was starting to set in the western horizon, Cadance didn’t notice any signs of rescue from outside the Empire’s impenetrable shields. Even though she wasn’t too hopeful for her own safety, every minute she spent in her cage was accompanied with desperate prayers for the sake of Flurry Heart’s well being. As the overcast skies grew darker above their heads, Cadance could tell that any chances of salvation would likely be received too late. So as she was finally lead back to her castle to endure Chrysalis’ “Marriage Ceremony,” the Alicorn could only hope that her own fate wouldn’t be as dire as her spouse’s was. 

As soon as her cage was finally lowered back down to the ground, Cadance reopened her eyes to gasp in shock at what became of her Throne Room. The massive space used to be a marvel of the Crystal Ponies’ ingenuity, with flawlessly smooth walls of pristine crystal towering high above to present a grand space for Royalty. But ever since Queen Chrysalis took over, it was near-impossible to notice any of the Crystal Castle’s stunning architecture while the walls and columns were suffocated by Changeling vines. Thick organic tubing clung to every inch of the walls and the ceiling above Cadance’s head, and multiple pods could be seen hanging high above with unknown ponies floating around inside. Each pod was glowing with Chrysalis’ unsettling aura of green magic, and helped to illuminate the Throne Room brightly enough among the hundreds of candles arranged around the place. And despite remembering how diligently the Crystal Ponies were trying to mop up the room before their Queen’s parade, Cadance could barely see the original floor while massive puddles of green ooze littered every square inch of the once-immaculate floors. 

But despite how dark and desolate the alien-like transformation of the Throne Room may have looked, it seemed that Cadance was the only one who was disturbed by the end result of Chrysalis’ efforts. As soon as the city-wide parade was finally finished, the Princess could only watch as the entire Throne Room was overfilled with the entire Empire’s population, who either sat closely-bound in the pews or somewhere on the messy floor. The giant space already felt cramped with all of those Changeling pods pulsating above everypony’s heads, but the added fauna also caused Cadance’s fur to moisten from the unwelcome humidity and heat that made the air feel thick and musky. And due to how long that parade had been going on, the ripe stench of sweat and body odor was rather overpowering after everypony had finished running around and fucking each other all day. 

Cadance may have not been claimed by the pheromones just yet, but she still tried to keep her breathing faint within her muzzle-guard to keep from gagging from the growing stench of unwashed ponies and rancid Changeling secretions. The Princess herself looked fairly unharmed while seated by herself in the cage beside her old throne, but her fur was still thoroughly matted from the sweat and tears that trickled down over the past several hours. But as the Alicorn remained unnoticed by most of the Empire’s compromised citizens, Queen Chrysalis stood in front of the cage with a wide and prideful grin as she marveled at the end result of her work. The Throne Room may have been a madhouse with how overfilled it was with intoxicated and horny ponies, but the Changeling still sighed blissfully with a content smile on her fanged muzzle. 

“Aaaaaahhhhhh… I honestly can’t wait for Twilight Sparkle to see the photographs of this event come tomorrow~” To add to her already cocky demeanor, she looked back at her bound Princess to add with an especially gloating grin, “I already got assurance from Flash Sentry that the newspapers are claimed for us as well, and they’re working on the headlines for this reclamation as we speak!”

If her muzzle wasn’t locked shut, Cadance would’ve likely given a sarcastic “Hooray” to irritate her captor. But after everything else she already endured, the Alicorn was too lost in defeat to even lift her head up in acknowledgement of Chrysalis. Fortunately for Cadance, Chrysalis didn’t seem too peeved by the Alicorn’s silence, and just huffed before looking back out among the crowds of moaning and giggling Crystal Ponies. “Well… If it helps to lift your spirits by any means, you have to admit that I brought everypony together with smiles on their faces~”

Cadance may have been too downtrodden to really defend herself against the Changeling Queen, but a murderous glare still intensified across her face as she stared Chrysalis down from behind. But as the skies outside grew darker through the broken stain-glass windows, Chrysalis knew that there were more pressing matters at-hoof aside from tormenting her claimed Princess. Fortunately for the Queen, as well as all of her lustfully mind-clouded attendees, the sounds of trumpets blasting victoriously outside was quick to gain everypony’s attention. 

Cadance may have felt dead inside, but even her head perked up alongside everypony else’s as the doors to the Throne Room bursted open. Several of the Crystal Guards, all with trumpets in their hooves and their eyes glowing brightly with Chrysalis’ green magic, stepped inside to take position and stand along both sides of the aisle. And even with how enamored and rowdy the inebriated Crystal Ponies may have been, the Throne Room became much more silent the moment those trumpets belted out loudly within the interior space. Many of the ponies had to cover their ears to keep from getting any hearing damage, but Chrysalis still carried a content grin on her muzzle while standing at the front of the podium proudly in wait. 

After the preemptive music was played out to begin the proceedings, it seemed that Queen Chrysalis’ idea of a marriage ceremony was fairly different from the standard Equestrian fare. For starters, the ‘Bride’ of this unholy event wasn’t the one to walk down the aisle herself, as Chrysalis remained front and center for her future husband to make his appearance. And while most conventional weddings had ponies standing up at attention for the “lucky” spouse-to-be, the Queen’s pheromones ensured that most of the attendees couldn’t stay still for more than a few seconds before either going into another giggling fit, or rubbing up against each other to sate their unbridled horniness. Of course, the very moment the Guards began to play “Here Comes the Bride” on their trumpets, the most eerie divergence from any sane wedding came from the presence of the fallen Prince himself. 

Shining Armor walked -- or more realistically, dragged his massively egg-swollen form -- down the aisle while groaning strenuously from every step. Cadance’s jaw dropped in pure disgust as she gawked at the sight of her former husband, whose stomach had grown out even larger than what she remembered the last time she saw him. She wasn’t sure if it was because Chrysalis stuffed more eggs inside of him, or if the eggs he already carried ended up growing in size, but now his bulbous torso had to be pulled across the floor while he struggled to walk in tandem to the tempo of the song. But even with how red Shining’s face may have looked from the strain, and how much sweat may have been trickling down his matted fur due to the physical exertion, a determined smile was still plastered across his face while marveling at the sight of his future wife. Even with Princess Cadance sitting in brooding silence in her cage, the presence of his Changeling Queen standing right beside her was enough to keep Shining in high spirits during his lengthy walk across the Throne Room. 

For many of the attendees who were standing close to the aisle, they were able to see just how many thick, pulsating eggs were burrowed inside of their former leader. They could also see just how brightly they were glowing from their luminescent magic, which caused those dauntingly large orbs to be seen through Shining’s flesh like some twisted lava lamp. All of the inebriated ponies in the Throne Room whooped and hollered excitedly, treating this “Wedding” with about as much respect and class as a bunch of drunken kids at a rodeo. Cadance could only close her eyes as she tried to ignore those enthusiastic rounds of applause, not wanting to think about how easily her subjects had been swayed by those Changeling pheromones. Unfortunately, the Princess only had her eyes closed for a moment before her cage was jolted with a hard kick by Chrysalis. As Cadance yelped in shock of such a sudden strike, Chrysalis shot her a murderous glare and shouted, “Don’t you DARE look away, bitch! You may have been stoic during the takeover, but I do intend to make you witness this~”

Even though she knew she had no choice, Cadance showed her feelings about such an order as she narrowed her eyes on the Queen with a brooding glare of her own. Unfortunately, that response only made Chrysalis smirk again before she turned back towards her bloated groom. “Anyway… Since we’ve already wasted enough time, I might as well--”

“NNNGHHHH!!~” Shining Armor’s body convulsed strongly as he let out a painful groan, and his hind-legs buckled underneath the daunting weight of his egg-swollen belly. A sharp yelp came out of his muzzle as he clenched his eyes tightly shut, and he collapsed on the ground while gripping his torso with both forelegs. There were a couple of gasps among the packed crowd of attendees, but they could barely be heard over the countless moans and cackles of laughter that rumbled throughout the Throne Room. Cadance carried the slightest hint of sympathy in her expression upon hearing Shining’s agonized groans, but his earlier actions left her feeling mute to his discomfort. “M-My Queen, my Queen!” he shrieked out painfully while writhing at the altar and gripping his stomach. “I don’t… I don’t think I can keep your eggs inside for much longer! I’m so sorry!! I’M SO SORRY!!!”

“Ohhhhhh, it’s perfectly fine, Shining~” Chrysalis didn’t seem the slightest but perturbed by her groom’s misery, and just smiled warmly while patting the top of Shining’s head. “You don’t need to apologize, dear Slave. You managed to hold my eggs for so long while we were outside. And right now, you’ll be able to give birth to my children before your entire Empire! Doesn’t that sound nice?~”

Cadance could only stare in disturbed awe while hearing what Chrysalis just said, and couldn’t help shaking her head to the thought of witnessing that above all things. Nevertheless, the blushed and elated smile on Shining’s face seemed to match the uproar of applause the Throne Room attendees gave to such an idea. And as the grin across Chrysalis’ face widened in maniacal glee, she made one last glance back at Cadance before she said, “In fact… we should perform the ceremony while you lay my brood, Shining!~ It’ll help to make the experience more unique~”

The bound Alicorn winced in her cage, knowing that Chrysalis was only doing all of this to hurt her. But since Shining was already nodding his head in agreement halfway through his bride’s answer, it didn’t take long before a couple of the brainwashed Guards rushed up to help their former Captain onto his back. “Thank you, my Queen,” said Sunburst with a sincere smile as he gave Chrysalis a quick bow of respect. “I promise I’ll do my best to make this ceremony official and quick!~”

Due to how brightly Sunburst’s eyes were glowing behind his glasses, his smile wasn’t tarnished in the slightest while hearing Shining’s pained groans from behind him. Meanwhile, the groom was just barely able to pay attention to the Crystaller’s words as he kept pushing that thick Changeling egg. Fortunately for Sunburst, his focus returned to Shining just as his pained shrieks became more intense with that egg stretching his tailhole to its limits again. “Aaaaahhhh!! AAAHHHH!! “Oh! A thousand pardons, my Queen!~” Sunburst was quick to return to his duties, and stood between Chrysalis and Shining as he cleared his throat. While Shining prepared to continue his egg laying, the Crystaller took advantage of that brief break to ask him loudly, “Shining Armor, do you take our wonderful Queen Chrysalis as your dutiful Mistress and Wife from this moment on? Through sickness and health, until death do you part?”

Despite how improvised Sunburst’s proceedings may have been, Chrysalis still nodded with a content smile while Shining could be heard grunting hard between pushes. “I do~” she stated without any hesitation, while also eyeing Cadance in her cage with a maliciously cruel grin. Of course, even though Cadance tried to glare at her captor during that response, it was obvious that she was too broken to care as her head slumped down again. 

“Alright then!” chirped Sunburst with a gleeful smile. After Chrysalis nodded her head in approval, Sunburst shrugged quite casually before be proclaimed to the attendees, “Fillies and Gentlecolts, I’m very pleased to hereby announce Queen Chrysalis and Shining Armor to be wedded as husband and wife!~”

The uproar of applause and cheers from the Crystal Ponies was enough to make Cadance feel physically sick, and she could only sigh through her muzzle-guard while overhearing Shining pushing out yet another egg. But even as the Ex-Prince kept pushing, She had no idea how many eggs he actually had inside of him, but she couldn’t blame Chrysalis for rushing through that “wedding” if the laying was going to take this long. The Queen then lit up her horn brightly, and floated up a small item that had been laying on the ground in preparation of this moment. It looked like something similar to a homemade pipe-bomb, which was made of a thin tube of plastic that had thick rubber bulbs covering both ends. There was also a small electronic trigger device attached to the shaft, which Cadance could only assume was a detonator of some kind. She wasn’t exactly sure what the device was, but the Alicorn still tried to reel back with a fretful look while Chrysalis held it in her hoof. “You know what this is?” she asked with a maliciously wide smile on her fanged muzzle. “These were actually the pheromone bombs that your Royal Crystaller built, after he left your side to join my cause. Chrysalis than tilted the bomb to its side, and carefully unscrewed the rubber bulb on top while Cadance struggled to pull back from her. After the top of the bomb was unscrewed, a thin mist of the greenish powder inside began to waft out from the opening for the terrified Princess to see. Meanwhile, Chrysalis chuckled with an impressed shake of her head and added, “Heck, that Sunburst fellow even found a way to concentrate my pheromones into an airborne substance! I already sent Pharynx the instructions on how to replicate it, and he informed me that he’s already in the process of building thousands of them down in the Changeling Kingdom. Mnnnnghhhh… I can only imagine how much those bombs will shape the way for my vision of Equestria as they’re dropped into all of your major cities~”

Cadance’s face paled in unrelenting dread, and her eyes widened as she realized just how badly things would likely be for her nation in the upcoming weeks. Since she was able to see first-hoof just how effectively those bombs inebriated the Crystal Empire, she knew that places like Manehattan and Vanhoover could easily be taken down with just a few of those canisters at Chrysalis’ disposal. Heck, even with Twilight Sparkle’s shielding abilities, Cadance was doubtful that Canterlot could be safe from any attack involving those pheromone bombs. But as the Alicorn’s head started reeling with horrifying thoughts about the fate of Equestria, Chrysalis just leaned back in with a gloatingly wide smile, and held the open top of her bomb between their muzzles. “Of course… I think it’s only appropriate for you to get a small sample~”

Before Cadance had any time to react, Chrysalis gave a sharp blow through her lips to disturb the dormant powder inside of the canister. A sizeable cloud of the green powder shot up from the tube, and was blown directly into Cadance’s face to leave her utterly helpless to the effects.
