Sunset begins to realize she may like Adagio who seems to feel the same. But how will the rest of the mane six feel about this? Or the Dazzlings for that matter?

Late night Bar run

It was a late night and Sunset had finally finished her shift at the music shop, she said goodbye to Vinyl and decided it was a good night for a drink. She picked up her phone and called Twilight, she figured a drinking buddy would be good and she needed to blow off some steam. Sunset walked towards the bar, it wasn't far from her apartment and she had walked to work anyway.

"Hey Twi, it's Sunset? I was wondering if you're doing anything tonight? Thought maybe we could get a few drinks." she asked,

"Sorry Sunset, I've got to work in the morning. Plus Principal Celestia is still on vacation so I've got a few extra classes to teach. But, maybe you can try Pinkie Pie? I'm sure she's available." Twilight replied. Sunset thought about the last time she went drinking with Pinkie and how crazy things had gotten and she just wanted a nice relaxing night, not a wild party like Pinkie would make things into.

"No that's ok, think I'll just spend some time alone then. Talk to you later Twi." Twilight said her goodbyes and Sunset put her phone back into her pocket, she finally made it to the bar and walked inside.

Sunset sat down at the bar ordered a drink, she was a little upset Twilght didn’t come with her but she understood why. She was never much of a drinker, and she couldn’t hold her liquor very well either. Sunset took a sip of her drink and began to look at the photos on her phone, a comforting sense of nostalgia going through her mind as she looked at the pictures of her and her friends in highschool. It was hard to believe how long ago it had been she thought. Sunset was on her second drink when she her noticed the voice of the woman next to her. She looked to see her on her phone and recognized her, Adagio!? She thought, Sunset watched her from a distance wondering what she was she up to. Her previous encounters with the Dazzlings were usually never anything good, for a moment she thought about just using her geode and finding out why she was there. But she also didn't want to start a fight in the middle of the bar either. So she decided to listen for now.

“Well tell Sonata I’ll be back late...I know, I know, I’ll get it done tomorrow. Uh huh, thanks Aria. I’ll see you then.” Adagio said before hanging up her phone and going back to her drink. Adagio finished her drink and called the barkeep over ordering a bottle to fill her drink and poured herself another glass, Sunset wondered if she knew she was there. Maybe she was just ignoring her? It wouldn't surprise her if she was, finally losing her patience Sunset walked down the bar and stood next to her,

“What are you doing here Adagio?” she snapped. Adagio looked up to see Sunset standing next to her,

“Oh...Sunset, how nice to see you.” she said a smug grin on her face. Sunset slammed her hand down on the bar and asked again, Adagio looked away from her and picked up her glass drinking it slowly almost taunting Sunset.

“Obviously I’m here to drink...” she said pouring herself another glass, Sunset didn’t trust her, last time she saw her and the other Dazzlings was the Starswirl festival and that was years ago.

“You don't mind if I sit here then?” Sunset asked sitting on the stool next to her. Adagio smiled looking at her from the corner of her eye,

“Not at all, drink?” she asked offering Sunset some of the bottle she had. Sunset sneered and took the bottle pouring herself another drink, she quickly drank it and looked back at Adagio confidently. Adagio smiled and did the same drinking hers in one go same as Sunset, then smiled back. Sunset poured herself another drink and drank it again, the two began to go back and forth almost competing to see who could drink more. Before either one had realized it the bottle was more than half empty, Sunset was feeling pretty tipsy now and she had enough of Adagio’s smug attitude, that constant grin she kept on her face the entire time.

“You can’t fool me, I know you’re up to something...I bet your sisters are nearby looking for some magic, or the three of you are trying to steal something from someone.” Sunset’s words were beginning to slur a little as she yelled at Adagio who quietly sat and drank. Sunset was getting angrier as Adagio ignored her,

“Hey! Listen to me when I’m talking to you! I want to know why your really here! And your going to tell me.” Sunset snapped as she stood up leaned towards her, Adagio set her glass down and looked at Sunset still smiling as she leaned over her one hand on the bar for balance.

“Are you gonna answer my question or not?!” Sunset shouted, Adagio refused to answer of course. She loved the control she had at the moment, and seeing a drunken Sunset mad only made it better for her. Sunset continued to shout at her drawing attention to herself when Adagio suddenly reached up and grabbed Sunset by her hoodie and pulled her towards her, she stopped with Sunset’s face just a breath away from hers. Sunset stood frozen, her breathing was suddenly heavy, she started to sweat, her whole body getting hotter. Adagio silently looked back that confident smirk still on her face the entire time. Sunset couldn’t understand what was happening, was it the liquor? Did Adagio have her enthralled? Or was she just turned on by this level of confidence Adagio was showing? Her mind was racing with reasons as to why she suddenly felt this way.

“Well?” Adagio teased, Sunset could smell the liquor on her breath, the perfume on her body, her scent was almost as intoxicating as the liquor she had been drinking all night, and worst of all, she didn’t care anymore why she was there. She wanted her, now. Sunset leaned in and kissed her on the mouth, Adagio’s hand slowly reaching up from Sunset’s hoodie to the back of her head holding in place as they kissed. Sunset slowly pulled away and opened her eyes to look at Adagio again still smiling, she slowly licked her lips in a teasing manner and whispered.

“Do you wanna get out of here?” Sunset stood breathing heavy still, and answered,

“Hell yes...”

The Morning After

Sunset slowly woke to a throbbing headache, she opened her eyes and saw the light of the morning sun shining through the blinds of the window above her head. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes,

“I drank too much last night...” she thought. Her memory was hazy, she remembered going to the bar after work and having a few drinks but was having trouble remembering what happened afterwards. She went to sit up when she noticed the weight across her chest, she looked down to see Adagio sleeping her head resting on her chest, her arm draped across her hugging in her sleep. Sunset suddenly started to remember what had happened last night, she looked around and noticed she wasn’t at her apartment either.

“We went back to her place? My apartment was closer! Why did I drink so much last night?!” she groaned. Adagio let a small groan and slowly lifted herself up, her hands positioned under Sunset’s arms. Sunset looked up at Adagio as she opened her eyes and looked back at her, the sun shined on her golden hair as it hung down across her shoulders, her bare body completely exposed to Sunset. She was awestruck by the sight before her, she never really stopped to look before but now she could see it, she was beautiful, more gorgeous than she had ever realized. Adagio stared back at Sunset silently, then slowly her eyes began to widen a look of surprise on her face. Sunset braced for the worst,

“Oh no...here it comes.” she thought. Adagio looked around the room in a panic and shouted,

“What time is it!?!” She sprang from the bed and frantically searched the room until she found her phone,

“9:43?! I slept in dammit!!!” she shrieked, Adagio dialed a number on her phone and held it between her head and shoulder as she began to dress herself in a hurry.

“Aria? Aria! It’s me, Adagio! I’m sorry, I slept in...Why?” she looked back at Sunset with an annoyed glare.

“I met an old acquaintance last night and had too much to drink. I’ll be there as soon as I can.” Sunset sat up covering herself with the blanket as she watched Adagio finish putting on her panties and pants, she paused as she picked her blouse.

“What? Oh, she did? Well...do you still want me to come by?...A little hungover yeah...Well, if your sure then...Yeah, ok I’ll see you this weekend then...Ok, thanks and I’m really sorry.” Adagio spoke into the phone before ending her call and turning to face Sunset. She sighed and leaned against the wall behind her and looked back at Sunset annoyed.

“So, is everything all right?” Sunset asked, Adagio glared back at her for a moment before answering.

“It’s fine, I was supposed to help Aria but your friend, I don’t remember her name. The excitable one, she showed up early and helped out.” Adagio explained, Sunset giggled before answering

“Pinkie, she’s the excitable one.” Adagio looked away her annoyed attitude seemed diminished now. Sunset couldn’t help but look over Adagio’s body as she stood across the room, the lines of her face, her slender neck and shoulders, her bare breasts, the curves of her hips. She was so beautiful she thought,

“Soo, what happens now?” Sunset asked, Adagio looked back at her and said,

“Get your shit and leave, I don’t care.” Adagio walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind her, a moment passed and Sunset could hear the sound of a water running followed by the sounds of a shower.

“Guess I’ll just leave then...” Sunset thought.

Sunset managed to find her phone and underwear but had to leave the room to search for the rest of her clothes. She opened the door and was surprised to find them neatly folded at the doorstep, her boots and hoodie place beside them. She picked them and could smell the fabric softener on them, someone had just cleaned these she thought.

“Oh wow, you’re the one Dagi brought home last night?” a voice said, Sunset turned and saw Sonata standing in the kitchen a cup of coffee in one hand a plate with her breakfast in the other.

“Sonata?” Sunset asked, Sonata’s eyes slowly drifted downward Sunset suddenly remembering she was in her underwear still. She panicked and ducked back into the bedroom and finished getting dressed. A moment later Sunset walked out of the room and picked up her boots, and walked out of the apartment without a word. Sonata sat at the kitchen counter eating her breakfast, a few minutes later Adagio emerged from her room drying her hair with a towel wearing only a blouse and a pair of red panties. She sat across from Sonata,

“Is there any coffee left?” she asked. Sonata nodded and got a mug pouring Adagio a cup the way she liked it. Adagio rubbed the sides of her head, the shower helped but her head was still throbbing. She took a sip from her coffee,

“Why’d you bring Sunset home last night?” Sonata asked with a bright smile. Adagio looked at Sonata, she set her cup down and looked at her phone and replied.

“I was bored...plus I was drinking a lot last night. Seemed like a good idea at the time.” Sonata simply gave a sly grin back at her sister, Adagio looked up annoyed by Sonata’s expression.

“What?” she asked, Sonata leaned back and took a sip from her coffee.

“Oh nothing, nothing at all Dagi.” she teased.

Two hours had passed and Sunset finally made her way to Mr. and Mrs. Cake’s bakery, Fluttershy and Rarity were there waiting already as Sunset walked in.

“Sorry I’m late guys, some things happened last night and I had to run back home for a quick change of clothes and a shower.” Sunset explained, Fluttershy handed her a cup of coffee as she sat down.

“I don’t mind.” Fluttershy answered,

“I understand completely Darling, after all you can never put too much time into making sure you look proper for the day.” Rarity added. Sunset took a sip from her coffee, her head was still throbbing but she felt better now compared to how she was before. The three talked for a while before they took notice of Sunset rubbing her head occasionally,

“Sunset darling, are you alright? You seem like you might be sick.” Rarity asked. Sunset looked up and replied,

“I had a few drinks last night and woke up hungover, I’m still fighting it right now. That’s all.”

“Oh it’s not good to drink like that Sunset, maybe you should call Twilight or Applejack and see if they have any ideas how to help with your hangover.” Fluttershy said, Sunset smiled and thanked her friend for the idea. She picked up her phone and began to scroll through the contacts when she noticed Adagio’s name and number in her phone.

“When did I? Ugh, must’ve done it last night while we were drunk.” Sunset thought. She stared at her phone and began to think about her morning, about Adagio, and how she felt about her last night. Her heart began to race a little, butterflies in her stomach. It was like last night, but not as intense why did she feel this way about her so suddenly?

“Sunset? Are you okay?” Fluttershy asked, she looked up to see Rarity and Fluttershy looking at her concerned.

“I’m fine, but I gotta go. I think I left something at my job last night and need to go pick it up.” Sunset replied before grabbing her coffee and rushing out the door.

Sunset walked down the street annoyed that she had Adagio’s number in he phone,

“I’ll just delete it and be done with this.” she thought, she went to erase the number but then stopped. She stood in the middle of the sidewalk staring at her phone, her mind constantly thinking about last night. Adagio’s confidence, her smile, the smell of her hair, her body, everything about her was on Sunset’s mind now.

“Are these my feelings? Or is she just controlling me somehow?” she asked herself, she looked down at her phone again. She pressed the dial button and decided she had to know, she raised her phone to ear and spoke.

“Hello, Adagio? It’s Sunset...”

Time to Talk

Sunset sat in the diner leaning against the table, she kept staring at the menu in front or her while taking the occasional sip from her coffee. She started to tap her foot in annoyance her mind constantly thinking about why she was even there.

“What am I doing here? She’s not going to show, she probably only answered your call so she wouldn’t have to listen to her phone ring. I’ll bet she’s not even going to show up like I asked her to, and you know why? Spite. Because she hates me, and my friends for that matter.” Sunset sat up in her seat feeling a little more confident,

“Yeah, that’s right. Why would she come here? You know what? In fact, I should just go. Leave right now and let her live her life and I’ll live mine. That’s exactly what I should do.” Sunset thought to herself.

“So? What did you call me for?” Sunset froze, she looked over her shoulder to see Adagio standing behind her.

“Oh...I wasn’t sure you were gonna come.” Sunset said nervously. Adagio walked over and sat across from Sunset, a moment later a waitress approached handing Adagio a menu and asking if she wanted anything to drink. Adagio replied and she and Sunset were alone at the table, Adagio looked over the menu as Sunset watched her. A few minutes passed and neither one spoke, Sunset was frustrated she kept wondering why she was doing this, why so obsessed with her all of a sudden.

“Something Wrong Sunset? You weren’t this quiet last night...” Adagio teased a mischievous grin on her face. Sunset’s face went red with embarrassment,

“Don’t say that out loud!!” she said in a loud whisper. Adagio looked up and replied,

“I had to get you talking somehow didn’t I?” Sunset was getting angry now, Adagio was just playing around just like last night she thought and she hated it.

“Fine, then I’ll just ask and get this over with. Do you still have your Siren powers or not?” Sunset demanded, Adagio looked at Sunset confused for a moment.

“I haven’t had my powers since the battle of the bands...you know, when you and your friends destroyed our gemstones?” she replied.

“There’s no way that’s true, you have to have them to some degree otherwise I wouldn’t constantly...” Sunset stopped mid sentence her face blushing again, she sat down and went quiet again. Adagio looked at her confused, she wondered what she was about to say but after a moment she could tell by the look on her face.

“Been thinking about last night a lot haven’t you Sunset?” she teased, Sunset didn’t answer she just looked out the window to the side. Adagio leaned back in her seat and smiled, she loved the fact that she could tease Sunset like this.

“I’ll admit it was fun. Maybe that’s why you called me out here today? You want another date maybe?” she asked. Sunset was blushing harder still refusing to look at Adagio, the two sat quietly Adagio looking at Sunset the entire time with a smile.

“We shouldn’t even be talking like this...” Sunset finally spoke up, she looked at Adagio finally her face not blushing anymore.

“We’ve never been friends, every time we run into each other in fact we’ve been at each others throats. Hell, my first encounter with you and your sisters you tried to mind control all of Canterlot High.” Sunset said. Adagio’s smile faded,
“We didn’t do it because we enjoyed it...” Sunset looked at her confused.

“Siren’s feed on negative emotion, we needed it to survive at the time. And not once did we ever hurt anyone, sure we were controlling them but that’s as far as we ever took it. Made everyone angry so we’d have something to survive off of.” Adagio explained. Sunset was having trouble believing her story, but she also felt a little sympathetic as well she didn’t have the best history either.

“So why did you need to do it?” she asked. Adagio sighed and leaned back in her seat,

“You’re from Equestria right?” Sunset nodded.

“Do you know about the Melody islands? It was a pair of islands west of the crystal empire.” Adagio continued,

“No, I can’t say I have...” Sunset replied. Adagio took a sip of her drink,

“It’s where all the sirens used to live...” Sunset looked puzzled,

“Used to?” Adagio nodded,

“The sirens feed on negative emotion, we’d travel to the mainlands and find ponies or whatever creatures were having problems and gave off negative emotions. We’d feed on the negative emotions with our songs, it left them calm and relaxed the bad feelings gone for the moment. We did this for years, until...he found out...” Sunset leaned forward wondering about Adagio’s story now.

“Who?” she asked, Adagio looked out the window of the diner.

“Starswirl...he was running around Equestria at the time cleaning up all the leftover monsters made by Grogar. One day he saw a group of sirens doing what they do and he mistook their actions for mind control or some other ill deed.” Adagio continued, she took a sip of her drink and set her glass down.

“He brought every pony he could muster with him to our home, my mother hid me, Aria, and Sonata as they slaughtered them all. No remorse, no chance to explain our actions, we were nothing to him but monsters that needed to be dealt with.” Sunset sat silent thinking about how bad she felt for Adagio right then,

“So how’d you end up here then?” she asked. Adagio leaned back in her seat,

“We took the gemstones from a cave hidden in our home, they made us stronger, bigger, hungrier for emotion. We decided we’d get our revenge on everyone who thought we were monsters, but then Starswirl and his friends sent us here. He couldn’t beat us so he sent us away like every other problem he ever encountered.” Adagio explained. The two sat silent for a moment,

“I’m sorry, I had no idea you’d been through all that. My coming here wasn’t exactly on good terms either ya know.” Sunset said. Adagio looked back at Sunset, she could see she was being genuine about apologizing. She looked at the menu in front of her and finally asked,

“So...if you’re not busy Saturday, do you maybe want to go the movies or something?” Sunset was surprised she asked,

“Are you asking me out on another date?” Adagio slammed her menu down on the table and snapped,

“Do you want to do something or not? I’m trying to be nice here...” Sunset laughed. She’d never seen Adagio act like this before and couldn’t help but laugh a little. Adagio naturally started to get angry at Sunset before she finally answered.

“Yeah, I think we can hang out a little.”
