> Glim Glam Bam Again! > by JimmyHook19 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Tied up in Knots > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome back! It is time to start a new tale, and who better than to introduce us than- "Is it really that time? Transformation is rarely done in rhyme. But I was on my way to Dismal Swamp, when I ended up in a predicament. I am aware that rhyme is flawed, but beauty of words is rarely poured. So I did not always roam, I hitched a lift home." "And I found a hairband. Silly, huh? You'd have thought he'd have learned after Sweetie Belle." "HEY!" That's enough. On with the story. It was another day in Manteo, and Jimmy was thinking about one of his personal favorite characters. He had plenty of time to think about them, as no new episodes were forthcoming at this sad hour, and this made him sad. "Oh, will we see Starlight again?" he asked. Kelly Sheridan had a busy schedule, no doubt, but he was not sure she'd do fan work. He went downstairs into his living room, with the note DO NOT TOUCH RANDOM HAIRBANDS on the door. But there was no hairband on the table. It was a hair ribbon, which he then touched. The hair ribbon soon vanished from the table where it had been, and Jimmy glanced up at his mirror, to suddenly observe something baffling occurring to his hair. Well, it was baffling to most people at least. To him it was normal. His hair changed color from brown to strands of purple, pink, and turquoise, which two separate fringes hanging over into his face, right above his eyes (which was exceptionally annoying). The hair at the back of his head shrank back up his head, and two pigtails soon appeared, which were held in place with two ribbons. One of them was the one that had been on the table. "What is going on now?" he asked. "I look like a little gi-" He never finished the sentence, as an intense pain built up in his rear. Something seemed to be happening to his tailbone, and suddenly something burst out of his butt, ripping a hole in his pants. It was a tail! A very short tail, colored those very same shades of purple, pink, and turquoise. "Curse that hair ribbon! Why? Why?" Jimmy had no clue as to why fate liked to this to him, but this matter was by far the least of his worries. His toes were suddenly pulled back into his feet as his legs shrank in length and cracked backwards, as they often seemed to do with worrying frequency. This gave the effect of looking at a gorilla when viewed normally, and his feet became hooves, and this was soon followed by his hips shrinking as his entire chest compressed, and the narrator making excessive use of the word 'and' to start a sentence joined to another by a comma. Jimmy's junk soon vanished into his/ her (take your pick, folks) body, followed by too small lumps appearing alongside them. This was soon followed by her neck and head shrinking and her shoulders compressed to a tiny width. Not long after this occurrence, Her arms got shorter and inverted, followed shortly after her fingers shrinking into hands that belonged to her and not long after ceased to be hands of any description, instead being reduced to hooves, as was now fairly commonplace. As a pair of glasses suddenly landed on the floor, Jimmy's nose and mouth merged together, exploding out of her face in a muzzle. That was not the only thing that exploded. Pressure built up under her forehead as a horn tore through the skin, growing to about two inches long before stopping. Her eyes grew in size to the size of saucers, and the retinas turned from their normal blue to a moderate Persian blue. Her ears appeared on the top of her head, rather than the side where they belonged normally (for most of the week, at least), and her entire body was abruptly covered in a pale, light grayish heliotrope fur coat. And there was still that accursed tail, all the way back there. Starlight Glimmer looked about this room in confusion. Why was everything so big? What was this gigantic pillar right next to her? Why were there gigantic garments lying all over the floor? Why was there a voice in her head narrating everything she was thinking? "Where am I?" she asked, out loud, as characters do for some reason when there is nobody else in the room. "What is this place? And why am I talking to nobody at all?" No sooner had she noticed the gigantic pair of glasses before her on the floor, the floor suddenly opened up into a portal below her, and she fell straight into a kaleidoscope of colour and light, colours and sounds rotating in a wondrous parade that made Starlight wonder if she had had too many sweets to eat. Then she fell out and crashed into something. Sunburst was a busy colt, busy cleaning up the mess in his room, as there were an absolute mountain of books that needed to be cleared from the floor, and if he were not to clean said books from the floor, he would soon get into trouble, and that would never do. Not at all. His mother was obsessive about doing things the new and proper way, and she deemed that leaving items in untidy, unwanted, untoward piles on the floor was the old and improper way of doing things, and thus it must not be done. "Almost done," he said, as he arranged some more onto the shelves, which began to groan under the weight of paper and leather that sat upon them. None of these books had those dreadful plastic covers, which made such a mess of everything and often fell off it you applied so much as a tiny bit of force to them. Which was also old and improper. Suddenly, Starlight Glimmer fell out of the air and knocked into the bookshelf, suddenly knocking it over and sending books flying everywhere. Sunburst coughed as he looked at his friend. "Really?" he asked. "Must you always teleport into my room when you come to visit!" "Sorry!" Starlight replied, her pigtails flying about as she shook her head. "I just fell through a really weird wormhole and this is where I ended up!" Sunburst shook his head. "Oh well," he sighed. "If you are so good at teleporting, you can at least help me magic this lot back onto the bookshelf. And get a duster while you're at it!" Starlight nodded as she received the instructions.
