> Super Paper Scootaloo > by emeraldhuskydragon0 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight time was a time when Scootaloo could go and learn from princess Twilight herself! She learned soooo much stuff, like how to make her scooter go faster, how not to make fireworks, and even what Rainbow Dash’s favorite book series was! Yeah, Daring Do was cool and all, but Rainbow was twenty thousand percent cooler than her! There were also snacks, and a few edibles made by awesome master chef Spike couldn’t hurt! On the other hoof, fireworks did. Scootaloo still didn’t think Twilight got all those scorch marks out of the ceiling... Scootaloo drove her scooter up to the door of the friendship castle. She banged on the door and stood back waiting for the door to open she as bounced on her hooves. A few long seconds later, a magenta glow covered the doorknobs. The doors opened, and Twilight stood there smiling. “Hi, Scootaloo! I was worried you were gonna be late! Come on in!” Twilight said cheerfully. Scootaloo left her scooter and helmet parked in front of the large crystal structure and she bounced in after Twilight. “So, what are we doing today? Ooh! Are we gonna make go-karts? Are we gonna strap fireworks to my scooter!? Ooh ooh! Are we-“ Twilight put a hoof over Scootaloo’s mouth and the two stopped walking. “No... today, I’m gonna teach you how to fly.” At this point in time, Scootaloo’s eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. She let out a gasp that lasted a solid ten second and she squealed in excitement. “Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh I’m gonna fly!? Wow! Twilight! I-“ Suddenly, the door was bucked open! There stood Trixie, her cape flowing in the wind. Her horn was glowing, and she was wearing the Element of magic on her head. “The grrrrrrrreat and powerful Trixie requests assistance! Trixie found the element of magic, and now Trixie’s magic is going nuts! I can’t stop my horn from glowing!” Trixie cried. “Well, one, that is a toy. Two, you just over charged a spell. Just release it on like a rock or a stick or something and you will be fine!” Twilight said. “I-I can’t! My horn is gonna blow up! I just told you I can’t stop it!” Trixie screeched. She ran to Twilight and paced in place. “You are the all mighty alicorn of magic! Do something!” Twilight tapped her chin frantically. “Twilight! Just cancel the spell!” Scootaloo said, frightened. Twilight nods and readies some magic. It was too late though, as there was an explosion. Coughing sounds could be heard and the smoke cleared. Oddly enough, there were only two ponies left in the smoke. “Oh. Ok. That wasn’t so bad.” Trixie said. Twilight on the other hoof, looked around frantically. “W-what kind of spell was that!?” Twilight inquired through gritted teeth. “Oh, you know, I was trying to teleport a letter to Celestia because you do that all the time and I said, hey! I can do that too!” Trixie took a deep breath. “So I readied the teleport to go to Canterlot but it wouldn’t do anything and I must have forgot to grab the letter and I decided to go to you because you know these things and stuff and then I came in here and the magic got too strong and it exploded!” Trixie finished. Twilight’s eyelid twitched. “So, Scootaloo’s in CANTERLOT!? Also where’d you get the tiara?” Twilight shouted. “I don’t know. For both questions.”Trixie shrugged. “Why don’t you ask the first one? You seem to have a VIP pass to Celestia’s mailbox.” “Spike!” Twilight yelled. Her little green companion ran into the room. “Take a letter. Dear Celestia, a magical mishap occurred, and I am lead to believe that a little orange filly with a pink mane named Scootaloo has appeared in Canterlot. Could you find her? Thanks. Signed, princess Twilight Sparkle.” Spike sent the letter and left, and Twilight started pacing. “You have a DRAGON to send your letters!?” Trixie said angrily. “I thought he was just there for comic relief!” Twilight opened her mouth, but as if on cue, a letter burst into existence. Twilight quickly grabbed it in her magic and started reading aloud. “Dear Twilight, no, nopony has teleported into Canterlot recently, but I did sense a burst of magic leaving this universe. I assume it was Pinkie Pie, as she does that often, but it could have been this filly you are searching-“ Twilight stopped reading out loud because there was an ink blot on the letter. She continued fretfully. “Twilight, I confirmed it, and I don’t want to alarm you, but Scootaloo has just been teleported out of this universe... and we can’t follow. Don’t panic, I’m coming to help you. Signed, Celestia...” Twilight took a second to reread that, and another to reread that. “Twilight..?” Trixie asked. “Did I just..?” “If what you mean by ‘did I just’ is send a FILLY to CELESTIA KNOWS WHERE and there being highly likely to be VERY DANGEROUS, then yes. Yes you did.” Twilight answers with a hint of insanity. “No, I mean... I, the GRRRRRRRRREAT and POWERFUL TRIXIE, have... successfully pulled off an even larger teleport than you could ever dream of. Hah! Take that, Twilight!” Twilight stares at Trixie wide eyed and angry. She lunged at Trixie with a shout and grabbed her by the shoulders. “TRIXIE, DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS!?” Twilight screamed as she shook the blue unicorn like a rag doll. the toy crown fell off her head and onto the ground. It was so quiet you could hear a feather drop. “No?” Trixie managed to squeak out. “YOU JUST MOST LIKELY KILLED OR TERRIFIED AN INNOCENT FILLY WHO DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO YOU!!! WE WILL NEED TO PREPARE FOR DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS, YEARS EVEN, TO GET HER BACK! AM I CLEAR!?” Twilight screamed loudly. “Loud and.” Trixie whispered, fully terrified at this purple monstrosity. The alicorn jumped off the limp blue ball of fur and started running like all heck had broken loose to the library. Once there, she grabbed lots of books off the shelves and started hunting for answers. Scootaloo couldn’t have gone too far, could she? ——===**===—— Two bros, one in red and one in green, walked out of a house. “M-M-M-MARIO! HELP!” Someone cried. They ran up. They had a white mushroom cap with red spots on their head, and they were frantic. The two bros ran to greet the shroom dude. “T-toad?!” The green bro said. “What? What happened? Why are you so crazy?” He asked. “It’s sh-sh-shocking... Peach found an orange thing... Mushroom castle raided... Princess Peach... STOLEN!” The shroom dude, Toad, cried. “WHAAAAAAAAAAT!?” Cried the green bro. “Why, that’s ridiculous! Who in the world would do such a thing?!” The green bro suddenly had an idea. “Wait a second... yeah... I think I’ve got it! Bro, this must be the work of that guy! That bad guy! He says. The two make eye contact and the red bro gasps. “I won’t stand for this... We’ll have to sneak into his castle and rescue Princess Peach! Let’s go, bro!” The red bro nods and they head off. “We’re counting on you, Mario Bros!” Toad shouts after them. Meanwhile in a stone castle near lava or something... “BWA HA HA! Listen well, my elite minion task force! It’s time to initiate my awesome plot to invade mushroom castle!” Says some spiky turtle dinosaur looking dude to a mob of little brown mushrooms, bipedal turtles, and blue robed mages. “Today is the day I make my beloved Princess Peach ALL MINE! And if that weren’t awesome enough, I’ll also stomp her little mustache buddies!” “YEAH!” The minions cry in unison. “It’s our turn! Bowser! Woo, woo! We’re under attack!” “Bwa ha ha ha ha! ‘We’re under attack!’ You jokers are the best!” Suddenly, Bowser, seemingly the leader, noticed something. “Hey! Who are those hairy guys in the back? We shave around here, minions!” Bowser jumps into the crowd as it parts to reveal the two bros from earlier. “Blargh! Mario! ...and Luigi!? How’d you get in here?” “Oh, well we just walked in the front gate.” Says the red bro. “What? My front gate was open!?” Bowser cried. He starts stomping the ground. “How many times have I told those idiots that if you are the last one in, LOCK THE GATE!” “Quiet, Bowser!” Says the green bro as the two bros take a defensive stance. “We know you kidnapped Princess Peach! Now where’d you put her?!” This surprises Bowser. “Where’d I... wait what? We’re only now about to launch our atta-“ A bloodcurdling scream rang through the air. “MARIO! HELP!” Suddenly, Peach appeared floating above ground in a cube of hexagons, as well as a smaller cage lower to the ground holding a small unconscious orange pegasus. “Princess Peach!?” The green bro said. The two bros and Bowser looked at the floating cages. Suddenly, Peach’s cage moved and a verticals rectangle of space time did a three sixty, revealing a floating cloaked dude with a staff and a top hat! “BLECK!” He cried. “Your princess and orange chicken have been taken... by Count Bleck!” “You... Wait, by WHO?!” Bowser shouts at him angrily. He bows as if addressing an audience and answers. “By me... Count Bleck! The chosen executor of the Dark Prognosticus...” he paused for dramatic effect. “Is Count Bleck! The fine fellow prophesied to come to this dimention... is also Count Bleck!” “I’ll tell you who doesn’t make even a lick of sense...” Bowser snarks. “Count Bleck! Enough! Release Princess Peach, right now! I’m on a schedule over here!” Count Bleck shakes his head. “Count Bleck says NEVER! This princess is integral to fulfilling the prophecies... she will be brought to Castle Bleck and used to destroy all worlds... By count Bleck!” Count Bleck declares. “Destroy... all WORLDS?!” Cries the green bro in fear. Mario decides this has been enough and jumps on the cage containing the orange pegasus and uses that momentum to land on Count Bleck, only for a barrier to appear and for the cage containing the pegasus to break. The Pegasus falls to the floor and Mario lands on the ground, confused as to why that did no damage. Suddenly, Bleck flicks Mario with his staff and a small void appears, damaging Mario and rendering him unconscious! “Big bro!” The green bro cries. Count Bleck studies the unconscious Mario and orange pegasus “This man deserves ridicule... so does the chicken... I never needed the chicken anyways... Weaklings cannot face Count Bleck!” Count Bleck observes. “Hey, here’s a thought!” Bowser says. “You calm down and free the princess... OR ELSE!” All the minions step closer aggressively and Bowser takes a fighting stance. “Bleh heh heh heh... your princess shall NOT be returned by Count Bleck.” Bleck says. “In fact, Bowser, evil king of the Koopas, Count Bleck will take you too! BLEH HEH HEH HEH! BLECK!” Suddenly, Count Bleck summons a large portal, sucking everyone in except himself, Mario, and the pegasus. The minions cry out uselessly in terror. Count Bleck closes the portal. “BLEH HEH HEH HEH! BLECK! Count Bleck’s preparations are now in order! All that remains is for the dimensional void to appear, as foretold in the prophecy...” he pauses, then start laughing maniacally. Suddenly, a black rectangle outline made by a small white cursor surrounds him, and that vertical rectangle of space time three sixties and he is gone. ——===**===—— “.........otaloo....” someone whispers through the darkness. “......Scootaloo........” Scootaloo opens her eyes and stands up. Next to her is a... strange creature with a brown mustache in a red hat and blue overalls. He is wearing white gloves and brown shoes. In front of her is a strange rainbow butterfly that seems like... she is just an outline! “Are you two awake?” The strange red capped dude and Scootaloo look at each other. Scootaloo looks at her hooves, which were paper thin and smooth. She whips around and looks at herself. “I-I’m flat!” Scootaloo says. “That’s... weird...” She looks at the outline butterfly expectantly. “My name is Tippi... I am what is known as a Pixl... A sort of fairy...” she says. “Mario... Scootaloo... I came to find you two..” Scootaloo gasps. “What! Are you evil or something!?” She says aggressively. Mario takes an offensive stance. “I am no enemy... you met Count Bleck... he captured a princess and an evil king... is this not so?” Tippi asked calmly. Mario looks at Tippi in shock, then nods, while Scootaloo is just confused. “I... was unconscious... but I vaguely remember being called a chicken...” Scootaloo answered. “Well, then that means Count Bleck is even now beginning to form The Void... We haven’t much time...” Tippi said. “You must come with me... yes, if your friends are to be saved, you must come...” Suddenly, another cursor appears, and makes a black rectangular outline around the three of them. “Let us go...” The rectangles of space time all three sixty leaving nobody left in the empty castle hall. ——===**===—— The three of them appear on top of a large white tower where a man in a blue cloak and with a long luscious white beard stood waiting for them, while Scootaloo and Mario look around uneasily. “Oh ho! Well, well, well.. back so soon, Tippi?” He asks the rainbow butterf- sorry, Pixl. “And who might these be? Red shirt, blue overalls, and a nice mustache... while on the other hand, orange fur, pink mane, strange mark... Tippi, you have truly out done yourself...” “They match the description of two of the heroes from the Light Prognosticus perfectly...” Tippi answers. “Hold up! I have some questions! Why am I here even!? I’m nothing special, you should get Rainbow Dash for that! What is that thing in the sky, and who were those people, and who even are you!? Better question, where the hay am I!?” Scootaloo sits down. “Oh dear... this wasn’t what I was expecting at all... so sorry Scootaloo... This is Mario and Scootaloo, Merlon.” Tippi said. “Well, to answer some of your questions, I am Merlon, and this is the town of Flipside. You have come far from the Mushroom Kingdom and Equus of your dimention. Of course, our fair Flipside is in no dimension, in fact, it is BETWEEN dimensions! I read old dusty papers to see the future and stuff!” “If you know about stuff, what is that thing in the sky?” Scootaloo asks. “You want to know about the end of all worlds? That gathering darkness... it is the void, a rip in the very fabric of space! So strange... in the end, it will destroy all existence... everything... This thing was made by Count Bleck, who has the Dark Prognosticus.” “Wait... he’s the dude who called me a chicken!” “Yes... ‘The heroes with the power of the eight Pure Hearts will rise to save the day.’ So it is written in the Light Prognosticus.” Merlon says. Suddenly, a glowing, floating red heart flies forth from his hands. “This is one of eight Pure Hearts. You two are clearly the heroes in the book. Only you can defeat Count Bleck and save all worlds! Mario! Scootaloo! Take this and save all worlds from destruction!” Mario nods. “I will, even though I’m pretty sure you’ve got the wrong pony...” Scootaloo says. “Excellent! You truly are the heroes from the book of legend! Ahem. Mario! Scootaloo! Our brave heroes! Take... This!” Merlon throws the Pure Heart at the two. *You got a Pure Heart!* Suddenly, a fanfare plays like it was choreographed to go with this moment. In the background, a pink hoof and an eagle claw grab a blue changeling with a trumpet and pulls them offscreen. “Now, great heroes, your first task awaits. You must place it in the heart pillar in this town. Tippi will lead you there. Return when you finish!” Scootaloo nods and runs with Mario after the prismatic butterf- AHEM Pixl. “I know a shortcut.” Tippi says. She flies off the edge of the tower. She then flies back up. “Err... you can fly... can you not?” She asks Scootaloo. “No... I can’t fly... YET! I can sorta hover, does that count?” Scootaloo answers. However, before more words could be said, Mario leaps off the tower! “WAHOOOOooooo!” He cries as he descends. Scootaloo looks at Tippi and jumps off the tower, buzzing her wings. She glides slowly down and Tippi follows. They land in front of Mario laying on the ground in front of a white pillar with a heart shaped hole in it. Mario jumps up and dusts himself off, then gives the bu- Pixl and pegasus a thumbs up. “Here we are, the heart pillar. Put the Pure Heart into the hole...” Tippi says. They do so and all of a sudden, blinding rings of light appear all around. The rings then disperse suddenly as they had appeared. “Well done... now let’s return to Merlon.” MARIO and Scootaloo nod and start heading forward. *one search for the elevators later and now on the tower* “Ah, the three of you return! Look! A door has appeared! This ‘dimensional door’ was made to lead the heroes to another Pure Heart.” “So... we collect all the collectibles, then what?” Scootaloo asks. “Wow, this seems a lot like one of Button Mash’s video games!” “Once you finish collecting all the Pure Hearts, you go to Bleck Castle and beat him and save the worlds I guess...” Tippi suggests. “I have an item to help you in your journey.” Merlon says. He tosses a small badge of a red pipe at Mario. “It will allow you to return to Flipside whenever you need. And now, off you go.” “Well, we better hurry then! See yah, old man!” Scootaloo says as she jumps through the door. Mario runs in after her and before leaving, Tippi nods at Merlon, then she follows through after them. > 1-1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A door shaped outline appeared in the middle of a slightly forested area. The outline fills up with red and darker red intricate patterns and swirls. The door opens and Scootaloo jumps out. She is shortly followed by Mario and then Tippi soon after. “Wow... this place looks weird... everything is flat!” Scootaloo pauses to look around. She looks at Tippi. “So where is the collectible again?” Scootaloo asks. “It’s still far from here... I forgot to mention something. We have to find Merlon’s friend, Bestovius, to learn how to flip into 3D. We’d better go find him...” Tippi answers. Mario nods. “Wait... we’re in 2D!? Woooooooah...” Scootaloo says. “Yes?” Tippi answers. “Let’s go. Also if you want to know about things, just ask. I know many things...” A small brown thing that looked sorta like a mushroom with legs walked up. Mario waved to it, but it ignored him! “Well. that was rude.” Scootaloo said. Mario nodded. Tippi got a little closer to the thing. “This is a goomba. They really put the ‘under’ in underlings. It has no remarkable traits. They have 1hp and 1atk. His eyes are really blank...” Tippi says. Mario nods and JUMPS on it! The goomba gets pushed off to the side, dazed. Mario nods and starts heading forward. “Mario! What did you do to it!?” Scootaloo shouts after him. Mario turns back and explains. “It seems it was not in its right mind... I guess Mario fixed it?” Tippi answered. Mario nodded. “Okay, I was worried that you had hurt it or something. Let’s go!” Scootaloo says. She runs after Mario and Tippi follows. Shortly after, they come across a strange formation of floating blocks! “What..?” Scootaloo asks. Mario jumps up and hits a yellow one with a question mark and a small round mushroom comes out! He jumps up onto the block formation and grabs the mushroom. Almost immediately after, a small pink floating heart appears with the number ten on it. “How did you do that!? Where did that heart come from!? Wow, Button Mash would geek out if he saw that!” “There must be no question and brick blocks in Equus... you can hit the blocks and stuff might come out.” Tippi explains. “Really? Cool.” Scootaloo says she jumps up and buzzes her wings to get onto the block. “Ok.” She says to herself. “Um... how do I do this...” she jumps up and stomps an a brick looking one. The brick block breaks and Scootaloo falls to the ground! “Ow.” Mario hits the rest of the blocks and the three come across a small green pipe. “What does this do?” Scootaloo asks. “That’s a pipe. Sometimes they can take you somewhere else.” Tippi says bluntly. Scootaloo nods and jumps over it. She uses this momentum to buzz her wings and to land on a nearby brick block. She lands on the block, destroying it, and jumping to the next. Scootaloo destroys this block and heads to the next, but this block doesn’t break! It instead drops a coin that disappears in a small golden sparkle. There is a block cage ahead. Tippi flutters to Scootaloo. “Aren’t you gonna ask where the coin went?” “Nah. This place seems like a video game, so I’m assuming that this is a video game.” Scootaloo answers. “What is a video game..?” Tippi mumbles. The trio head over the block cage. There is a small chasm in the way. “So... if this is a video game... going down there would be a bad idea. Right?” Scootaloo asks Tippi. “Yes.” “And that pink thing over there is not in its right mind either?” Scootaloo asks, pointing at the pink thing. “That is a squiglet. It’s a small creature that scurries around on it’s many legs. It has 2hp and 1atk. There isn’t much else to say besides it’s eyes are very blank...” Tippi answers. The trio head over the chasm and past the squiglet up a hill. They spy a house. “Is this where we are supposed to be going?” Scootaloo asks. A simple yes was all it took. The three headed in side the house... only to find an empty room. “Hey! There is nobody in here!” “This is not an empty room. Try... try to find a trap door or something.” Tippi says calmly. Pressing to the wall, Scootaloo finds a small rip in the wallpaper. “Is this it?” She asks. Scootaloo buzzes up and rips off the paper, revealing a door. “It’s a door-“ Tippi was cut off. “Yes. I can tell it’s a door. Let’s go!” Scootaloo opens the door and runs inside, with Mario and Tippi tagging behind. “Hmmmmmmmm?” Somebody asks. “What are these how do they have the audacity to stand before me, Bestovius?” He pauses. “Wait right there! Red shirt, white gloves, red cap... Orange fur, small wings, pink mane... Ha! You look just like the heroes of the prophecy! In fact, you must be the great...” Bestovius pauses for dramatic effect. “Hero! Impersonators!” He says! “What costumes! You two look like you just leapt out of the pages of the Prognosticus!” Mario shakes his head. “This is Mario and Scootaloo! They look like this because they ARE the heroes! Merlon told us to find you.” Tippi says. “Merlon!? If Merlon thinks you are the true heroes, you probably are. I think... well then. As the ancient prophecy foretells... I, Bestovius, will bestow upon you the anchor to secrets of dimensional flipping... for a nominal fee of ten thousand coins!” “Excuse me sir, does the prophecy say we have to pay you?” Scootaloo asks. “No... fine. I will teach it to for free.” Bestovius says. “Flimmidy flammidy flooooom! Diggidy daggidy doooooom! Zibbidy zabbidy zoooom! SHABOOM! FLIPPOW!” Suddenly, magical light envelops Mario and Scootaloo! The light explodes outwards! “I, Bestovius, have granted you two the ability to flip between dimensions. Well, what do you think? Mind blowing, is it not? You now can find super secret passages and items and stuff, but beware. If you use your new power too long, you will lose hp.” “Okay.” Says Scootaloo. “Let’s do this!” She says. Mario and Scootaloo flip into 3D! “Wow, this place looks... huh. Normal. To me at least. Look! Items!” Scootaloo says. Mario picks up the two items. He looks at them and smiles. “It seems we found a secret. Come on, let’s go...” Tippi says. They flip back into 2D and leave the house. They head to the block wall. There is a small square with a fire symbol laying on the ground outside. “Ooh, more cool free stuff!” Scootaloo says as she picks it up. They find the block wall. “There is something behind here...” Scootaloo mumbles. She flips into 3D and back. “I found a red door with a star on it.” She says. “Good job, lets go!” Tippi says. The three flip into 3D and head through the door. They exit another red door with a star on it into a forest. Heading forward, they notice a bipedal turtle with sunglasses. Mario jumps up and lands on it, making it quickly go into its shell. He kicks the shell, knocking all the blank eyed goomba and more turtles away. The shell hits a very tall pipe and the shell gets knocked away as well. “How do we get past- oh right. Just flip.” Scootaloo says, interrupting herself. They continue forwards, back in 2D. They pass multiple enemies, blocks, and chasm, until they find a door. Heading through the door reveals a wall, a spring, and a sign. The sign reads, ‘Use jump platforms to get over things and stuff!’ “I think we can just flip and go around.” Tippi says. Scootaloo and Mario nod. They continue forward and see another wall, this one without a spring. Heading past this. They find more enemies and a large staircase. “Woah! A staircase! Let’s climb it!” The three go up the staircase to find a small gap between the top and more land. Mario jumps over it, then Scootaloo and Tippi follow. They come upon yet another door. Going through this door reveals some pipes which the three easily weave around in 3D. They come upon a single question mark block. “Another block. Who knew adventuring could be so boring?” Scootaloo says. They completely bypass the block that clearly held something important and go past a maze of enemies and brick blocks. They soon stumble upon a large high up rainbow block in front of the end of the road. “Woah!” Scootaloo says in awe. “I doubt I could reach that!” Mario doesn’t. He jumps up and confidently strikes the block, and the three get teleported away. > 1-2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The three appeared in front of a mountain. Tippi flew forwards. “The pure heart is somewhere beyond this mountain... but it is still very far...” “Well, what are we waiting for!?” Scootaloo exclaims. “Let’s g- hey, what’s that?” Scootaloo flips and disappears. “Scootaloo?” Tippi asks after a while. Scootaloo reappears next to a tall mound, panting. “Well... now I know what old man whatsaface meant by stay flipped for too long you take damage. I also found a secret path. Follow me!” The three of them flip to 3D and see what Scootaloo meant. The large hill was flat, and there was a path behind it. The three ran down the path now tunnel to find a door. “Oh. A door.” Tippi said. The three went through the door. As soon as they got out the other side, they fell a few feet onto hard stone. “It is a secret entrance further into the mountain!” Tippi said. Scootaloo nodded. “Yep, now onward!” Scootaloo said. They climbed up the mountain onto two long strips of block. “Uh oh...” Scootaloo said, looking up. Directly above them was the first strip. “How are we gonna get up here?” She asked. “Having a problem? Try flipping.” Tippi suggested. Scootaloo and Mario flipped, and lo and behold, the first strip was not directly above them. They could also see a block sneakily hidden behind the second strip. Scootaloo hit the block and a line snaked out of it. Flipping back into 2D, the two flightless members of the party climbed the ladder. “Wow, that’s a lot of coins!” Scootaloo said as she looked at the coin littered cloud line. She ran across the clouds grabbing every one. “Wait... can you walk on clouds Mario?” Scootaloo asked. Mario nodded and followed Scootaloo, with Tippi trailing after. They soon came to an end of the clouds. Tippi looked down. “Well, I can see a door. You might want to flip when you land though, as there seems to be some spiny tromps rolling down the way up.” Tippi observes. Mario jumps down and flips into 3D, and Scootaloo follows. They reach the door and head through. They come across a chasm to large to jump over and a pipe. In the distance, there is another pipe and a house. Mario looks at the pipe next to him and at the pipe in the distance. He jumps down the pipe and reappears out of the pipe in the distance. He waved at Scootaloo and Tippi, then goes into the house. A minute or two later, a bridge appears over the chasm and Mario jumps out of the pipe next to Scootaloo. “Woah! Where’s that bridge come from?” Scootaloo asks. Mario explains that a guy in the house was stuck so when he helped him, the guy fixed the bridge. “Well, lets go...” Tippi says. The three cross the bridge with ease. They enter a small village. “Hold up! That block formation! It’s suspicious! Let’s go explore!” Scootaloo says excitedly. She flips and finds a pipe behind it. A short while later, she comes back out. “I found a lot of coins in there!” She says. “Hey Scootaloo, I can see the teleport box over there. Let’s go...” Tippi says. Scootaloo nods and follows after Tippi... who stops suddenly. “Oh dear... there’s another chasm...” she says. Good thing for them, there is another pipe like earlier. Mario jumps into the pipe again, but comes back with a shrug. He explains we need permission from high up to get the bridge lowered. “Aw man! Now we have to go on a fetch quest?! Where is the mayor’s house?” Scootaloo says, exasperated. She goes into a house with a weird fork shaped roof, and Mario and Tippi follow. “Is the mayor down there?” She mumbles to herself as she looks at a pipe behind a fence. “I guess so, as it’s hidden and stuff.” She climbs over the fence and jumps down the pipe. Exiting the pipe, which was more like a slide going underground, she sees a bunch of crusher looking things. Mario and Tippi exit the pipe. “Oh dear. Look at all these thwomps. How are gonna-“ Tippi get cut off when Scootaloo flips and goes behind the crushers, as it turns out they were flat. Mario and Tippi follow Scootaloo in through a door. In the room that the door was nothing but a star on the wall. “Where is... oh wait.” Scootaloo cuts herself off again. She yanks down a sheet with a star on it and the same pattern as the wall to reveal... a door. “Wow, this mayor must be very important to have so much protection.” “Yeah...” Tippi says as the three head through the door. They step out into a larger room with a giant chest, a block, and a switch on the ceiling. Suddenly, bars appear over the door trapping the three in the room! “Oh no... the door...” Tippi says. Scootaloo gasps. “It’s a trap!” Scootaloo shouts. Mario on the other hand opens the chest, revealing nothing. He peeks into the chest. “SWEET FREEDOM!” Someone from inside the chest says. “Wait a moment... if I have been set free, the legendary heroes must have done it!” A square with five circles hovering over the square and two eyes on the square floats out of the box. “You’re a weird looking butterfly...” Scootaloo says. “I’m not a butterfly, silly! I’m a Pixl! My name? Thoreau! I will join your party, great heroes! I can help you by grabbing and throwing like really heavy stuff!” *Thoreau joined your team.* “Now we can throw that box at the switch to get out of here!” Scootaloo says triumphantly. Thoreau grabs the box and smashes it against the switch and the bars blocking the door disappear. “Glorious day!” Thoreau cries. “Now, to infinity and beyond!” The team of four leaves the underground rooms and back into daylight. “So, I guess the next house is the mayor’s?” Tippi suggests. The now quartet enters the last house on the row. “Whoozit?! I’m the elder around here so watch it!” Cries an old voice. “What do ye want? Get off me rug!” “We need the bridge to be brought down.” Scootaloo says flatly. “Nothin but desert past here. There’s treasure, but you’ll get sand on everything. That’s what Yold Town is for, to keep treasure safe from YOU. So watch it!” “We’re the heroes!” Scootaloo announces proudly. “Whuzzat!? Whizzit!? You lot are the heroes!? RUBBISH! If you were, ye would have a Pixl shaped like a hand...” Old man Watchitt suddenly notices Thoreau. “Oi! Ye lot do!? Course ye do! You’re the heroes! Knew it all along. I’ll give that Green feller a call. He’ll let you cross.” He pulls out a phone and types something. “Go talk to Green at the edge of town. Now get off me rug!” The quartet scramble out of the house and to the pipe. Mario nods and jumps in, appearing on the other side. He enters the house. A short while later however, Mario is flung out of the chimney of the house and lands headfirst into a tree. “Mario!” Scootaloo and Tippi cry in unison. Mario slides out of the tree with his hand on his head. He shakes his head and glares at the house. “Are you okay Mario!?” Scootaloo asks. Mario nods and starts walking towards the bridge. Scootaloo and Tippi look at each other then follow. They come upon another rainbow box. “Can I do it?” Scootaloo asks. Mario nods. Scootaloo buzzes her wings and jumps, hitting the box with her hoof.
