> My Little Pony: Magic vs Technology > by Heroic412227 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Introduction > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In a sober lair deep within the snowy mountains of the Frozen North lived a mysterious figure: a tall, brown nymph with pink wings, long black antennae on top of his head, and sporting green shoes and gray shorts. He was sitting on a desk in a dark room next to a strange machine that looked incomplete and empty. Beneath him was a trash can full of crumbled-up papers. As he kept writing, he stops and voices a frustrated groan. “Why is it so hard?!” yelled the mysterious figure. Suddenly, one of his robot minions entered the room while holding a large tray filled with maple-syrup drizzled pancakes for the mysterious figure. “Breakfast is ready, boss,” said the robot minion. The mysterious figure just groans at his robot minion’s reply. Not wanting to upset him any further, he places the tray on a table behind the mysterious figure and walks out of the room. “Well, enjoy your breakfast, Boss,” said the robot minion. After the robot leaves the room, the mysterious figure rubs his forehead in frustration. ‘There’s got to be a way,’ said the mysterious figure. ‘There’s got to be some kind of power source I could use for my machine... But what?!’ asked the mysterious figure. He clears his desk in even more frustration and then takes a deep breath and shrugs. “Oh, well. I’ll figure it out tomorrow,” the mysterious figure said. “Might as well have a taste of that delicious tray,” As soon as he gets up from his desk and walks toward it, he steps on a torn-up piece of paper. “Huh?” He picks it up from the ground and looks at it for a bit. It seems like six multi-colored gems with different shapes of an apple, a butterfly, a diamond, etc. His mind peaks with interest by it as he strokes his chin at the sight of the picture and smiles. Meanwhile, it was a nice sunny day in Ponyville, in contrast to the cold snowy grounds of the Frozen North in the first row of paragraphs. At Princess Twilight’s Castle, Twilight wakes up from her long slumber, feeling the warm sunlight hit her face as she beams a big smile. “Today’s the day! Today’s the day!” Twilight cheered, getting up from her bed as she gallops up towards Spike. “Spike, wake up! We’re going to be late if we don’t hurry!” “Ugh... five more minutes, please,” Spike groaned. “Hmm...” Twilight said, trying to find something in her castle to wake up Spike until she finds a huge gemstone lying on the counter of the kitchen. She goes back to her and Spike’s bedroom and levitated the gemstone closer to Spike. The little dragon’s nose picked up the scent and his mouth watered against his will. Just like that, Spike gets up and grabs the gem in hunger, proceeding to eat it. “Good, you’re awake. Now let’s get ready! We’ve got a big day ahead of us at Canterlot and we can’t afford to be late!” said Twilight, trying to find her saddlebag. “What’s going on at Canterlot?” Spike asked after he finished eating his gemstone. “Today’s the day for the first ever Magic Festival!” said Twilight “And everypony in Equestria and beyond is gonna celebrate it in Canterlot! That’s why we have to hurry!” “Magic Festival?” asked Spike. “What’s that?” “Don’t have time to explain!” exclaimed Twilight, putting on her saddlebag as she runs towards the front door. “Now, let’s go!” “Ugh... right behind you!” grumbled Spike as he followed Twilight to the front door of the castle. “And here I thought she was finally over that freakout phase.” The scene fades to the bright and regal views of Canterlot, where everyone from Equestria and beyond is seen putting up decorations, setting up food, and cleaning up the stage for a big show tonight. Everyone is getting ready for a little R&R. Twilight and Spike both arrive at the party, with some ink quills, scrolls, and other items in a wagon in order to make sure things go as planned for the festival. “Oh, I hope we’re not late!” panicked Twilight. “Twilight, relax! I’m sure we’ve arrived on time!” Spike yawned, pulling the wagon. Spike checks his watch for a bit. “It’s only 8 am, and...” Spike said before putting his watch down. “What time does the festival start?” “About 7:30 pm,” Twilight said. “But we can’t miss out on doing our part for the festival!” “There’s plenty of time for us to do our part before the festival starts,” Spike said. “Now, c’mon. Let’s get started, okay?” Twilight sighs. “You’re right, Spike.” Twilight then walks away while levitating an ink quill and a piece of paper. Spike then follows her, but then suddenly looks down at his watch again. “When did I start wearing a watch?” Spike asked in confusion. As the two continue walking through the festival, they start look at what everyone’s doing for the festival with a quill and paper at hand (or in their case, claw and horn). “Hey, Twilight!” Lyra and Bon Bon said while helping each other with hanging a streamer to one of the pillars. “Hey there, Lyra and Bon Bon!” Twilight said before she writes a big red check mark next to one of the jobs on the list. “Decorations? Check.” Twilight then sees Gallus and Gilda setting up scones with the rest of the food, who then see back at Twilight. “Hey, Twilight! What’s up?” Both Gallus and Gilda greeted. “Just wanted to check and see how things are going,” Twilight then marked off the next job on the list. “Food? Check.” “Wow!” Spike said. “I had no idea that the festival had this many creatures.” Spike then spots Ember and Smolder helping each other light torches with their fire breath, who then see Spike. “Hey, Spike!” They said before they continue on with their part for the festival. “Hey, Ember! Hey, Smolder!” Spike replied as he waves back at them before he continues his activity check with Twilight. “Still, what’s this festival about, exactly?” Spike asked. “It’s a brand new holiday where everyone from Equestria and beyond gets to celebrate all of their unique and magical abilities and how they used it to make the world a better place for everyone,” Twilight explained. “Pinkie and I came up with the idea and asked Celestia and Luna, as well as the other rulers if we could try it, remember?” “Riiiight,” Spike said. “ So, where is Pinkie Pie, along with the others?” “Probably at the center of the festival, helping out with the stage,” Twilight replied. “Isn’t all of this sort of similar to the friendship festival a few months ago?” Spike questioned. “Oh, there they are!” Twilight said, pointing her hoof at the stage where her friends are. “C’mon, Spike!” She then runs over to the stage. “Hey, wait for me!” Spike yelled, running after her while pulling the wagon. As the duo make it to the stage, we see their friends doing their usually jobs for the festival. Applejack and her family are preparing foods like cakes, pies, and cider, while Pinkie Pie is busy making balloons and showing off party cannons. Rarity is hanging up decorations with her magic, while Fluttershy is orchestrating the birds. "Hey there, guys," Twilight said, walking towards the group while Spike panted behind from pulling the wagon. "Looks like everyone's doing a great job on their part for the festival." "We sure are!" Rainbow Dash shouted, zooming down from the air towards Twilight. "Sky's all cleared up and ready for the festival." She then turned her head and waved her hoof towards the Wonderbolts. "Thanks, guys!" "Anytime, Rainbow," Spitfire said, saluting at Rainbow Dash before she and the other Wonderbolts sped off. "Yep. Definitely like the Friendship Festival," Spike said, sarcastically before Twilight covered his mouth with her wing. Suddenly, a Royal Guard flew towards Twilight. "Your highness. The Royal Sisters need you and your friends immediately," he said, flying away while the Mane Six and Spike followed suit. > An Urgent Matter > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the Royal Castle, Twilight and her friends galloped inside of the Throne Room as they stopped in front of both Celestia and Luna. "We came as fast as we could, your majesties," Twilight said. "Thank you all for coming," Celestia said. "So, what's the emergency?" Applejack asked. "It's the Elements of Harmony," Luna replied. "They've disappeared from the tree!" The Mane Six gasped in horror while Spike fainted down to the ground. "Disappeared?!" Rarity exclaimed. "But that's not possible! I thought the tree could only respond to its bearers!" "We thought so, too," Princess Celestia replied. "However, somepony who went through the Everfree Forest, somehow found the Tree of Harmony and saw that the Elements weren't there. All that see found was this," Luna added, levitating a small item with her deep blue magic. She then gave it to Twilight, who then surrounded it with her own magical aura. "A microchip?" Twilight asked as she examined the device closer to her face. "A micro-wha?" Applejack asked. "A microchip," Twilight replied. "It's a tiny wafer of semiconducting material used to make an integrated circuit." "Uh... In English, please?" Rainbow Dash said, raising an eyebrow and crossing her forelegs. "It's a tiny device used to store information on an electronic device," Twilight sighed, rolling her eyes for a brief moment before turning her eyes back at the Royal Sisters. "So who do you think did this?" "We're not sure," Celestia replied. "Then it looks like we're going to have to figure this out on our own," Twilight said. "Let's do this!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. The Mane Six and Spike all run out of the Throne Room before Twilight stopped and turn her head towards the other princesses. "Don't worry. We won't let you down," she said before running out the door with her friends. "We know," Princess Luna said. Meanwhile, At the Frozen North, the strange figure from last time kneeing in front of a large, blinking machine while placing each Element of Harmony in its respective, element-shaped hole. Two robots peek their heads behind the door of the room, watching the figure reach out for the final Element, the Magic one, from behind his back but can't find it while he's working. "Do you think we should help him?" The robot at the bottom whispered. "I don't know," The robot at the top replied. "I mean, I know it's part of our programming to help the boss out, but that accident might still be affecting him. What if he...?" "Uh, I can hear you two," The figure said. "Oh, sorry, Boss!" The one on the top exclaimed as both him and the other one moved from behind the door and walked towards their boss. "Aaaand, done," The figure said, placing the last Element into the whole before pressing a big red button. "Now all we have to do next is wait for it to charge." The figure then stepped back while the machine made a loud whirring sound. Both of the robots moved out of his way while he backed away before all three of them stopped. The machine's green meter steadily moves up until it reaches the very top. "Perfect!" The figure exclaimed, pulling out a remote control from his back while his robot minions looked at each other in disgust. "Now for the final thing to do before I activate my contraption," He pressed the button on the remote, causing the top of the machine to open up and a large antennae to protrude from it at a snail's pace. "Huh. I guess it takes a little longer than I thought it would take," The figure said. "Uh, boss?" One of the robots asked. "Yes, Tin?" The figure replied. "Not that I want to upset you in any way, but are you okay?" Tin asked. "Okay?! I've never felt better in my entire life!" The figure exclaimed. "But I will feel even more better when this machine accomplishes my brand new goal!" "New goal?" The other robot exclaimed. " What happened to the old goal?" "Ha! That goal is gone! Done! No more!" The figure interjected. "Now, I've found a new goal from now on!" "And what method is that?" The other robot asked. "I'm glad you asked, Tinker," The figure replied, walking towards the machine and points at its meter. "Once this machine gets enough power from the Elements, it will then allow that power to flow through the antenna, once it reaches the top within... I guess, about a few hours or so. But once that finally happens, I will be able to spread its power across the globe, thus making me ruler of the entire planet! Haahahaha!" Both Tinker and Tin looked at each other in concern. "The boss has totally lost it," Tin whispered. "Ya think?" Tinker whispered back. Back to the Mane Six and Spike, who are now at Twilight's Castle library, rummaging through the books for answers about the microchip and who it belongs to. "Found anythin'?" Applejack asked. "Nothing up here," Rainbow replied, searching through the top of the shelf. "Nothing down here, either," Fluttershy added. "Ugh! There's got to be something in here that can help us figure out what's going on!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Calm down, Rainbow," Rarity bade to her. "Surely we'll figure this out soon." "Rarity's right," Twilight chimed. "Nopony said that this would be easy." "Hey! I found the right book!" Pinkie Pie said. "I stand corrected," Twilight and the others went towards Pinkie Pie. She levitated the book to the central table with her magic. It had a dark brown cover with a picture that looks exactly the same as the microchip "Where did you find this?" "In the mechanic and technology section, duh," Pinkie Pie answered. "Okay then. Now, let's see what we can learn from this microchip," Twilight flips the front cover of the book open and skims through the pages before stopping. "Huh?" She said as she and the others looked at a picture of a figure standing next to a large machine. "Uh, Who's that?" Rainbow Dash whispered. Applejack hushed Rainbow. "Let her concentrate, okay?" "Sorry," Rainbow Dash crossed her forelegs and turned away. "Let's see. About many years ago, the very first non-magical invention was originally thought of by Sideros the Third. She wanted to make the world a better place, but then became a laughing stock when her first attempt turned out to be a failure in front of the public's eyes." "Goodness!" Fluttershy said. "That poor lady," "Shush!" Applejack interjected. "After being humiliated in front of everyone, she quit her job and became an famous artist before falling in love with and marrying a man who was quite found of her skills and talents." "Ugh! Is this even going anywhere?!" Rainbow Dash groaned. "Rainbow!" Applejack shouted. "What?!" Rainbow exclaimed. "As I was saying," Twilight chimed, gritting her teeth. "After having their first child, she contracted a disease that stuck with her for a few years before she..." Twilight flips to the next page before she and her friends gasp with widened eyes. "Oooo! That doesn't look good," Pinkie Pie said. "But what does this have to do with the microchip?" Applejack asked. "Well, it says right here that she used to be a great inventor of microchips, amongst other inventions at the time," Twilight replied, pointing her hoof at the words of the book. "What if her son was the one who stole the Elements from the tree?" Fluttershy questioned. "But how and why would he do that for?" Pinkie Pie added, stroking her chin. "Whatever it is, it can't be good," Twilight replied. " We have to stop him before something bad might happen." "But we don't even know where he is!" Spike chimed. "How do we find him?" Suddenly, the two doors of the library slammed open before the Mane Six and Spike turned their heads to find out who opened them. It turned to be none other than Starlight Glimmer. "Uh-hum! I think I might know how to do that," Starlight bragged. "How long was she even there?" Rainbow Dash whispered to Applejack, who just rolled her eyes. > The Great Search and Smash > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back at the figure and his minions' lair, The large antenna is still slowly lifting up from the machine as the figure crosses his arms and taps his foot. Both Tinker and Tin are sitting behind him, playing Go Fish. "Got any eights?" Tinker asked, holding up a row of cards. Tin looks at his own deck of cards and squints his eyes at them, trying to find any eights. "Nope. Go Fish!" Tinker then sighs and rolls his eyes before pulling out one of the cards from the small pile between them. The figure looks down at his watch, watching the second hand pass through the minute hand before putting his arm back down and going back to staring at the antenna, which isn't even halfway through the roof of his lair yet. "Ugh! What's taking so long?! At this rate, I'll never be able to seize control of the entire planet until I turn at least 50 years old!" The figure exclaimed. "Maybe there's something holding up the speed of the antenna. Tinker? Tin?" Both Tinker and Tin dropped their rows of cards before quickly getting up from the floor and saluting their hands to the figure. "Yes, boss?" "Could you check and see what's keeping this here antenna from reaching the top of the lab," The figure demanded, pointing at the machine. "Yes, sir." Both him and Tin walk up to the top of the machine and lowered their heads and hands inside. "Oh, here's the problem," Tinker said. "There's a huge thing stuck between the antenna and the other side of the contraption." "Oh... Then, let's pull it out," The figure demanded. Tin went over to Tinker's side and both of them grab a hold of the huge thing before pulling it out and setting it down next to them. The large antenna, while still not completely to the top, starts moving a bit faster than before. "Thanks," The figure said, giving Tinker and Tin a thumbs up as they jumped down to the floor. "Uh, you're welcome," Tinker and Tin said, giving him a thumbs up back before looking at each other. Meanwhile, the Friendship Express slowly chugs through the railroad before making a stop at the middle of the Frozen North. The sound of hoof-steps can be heard as the train's engine steams up again before chugging backwards, revealing the Mane Six, Spike, and Starlight standing near the tracks while wearing snow clothing and gear. "Are you sure this is the right place, Starlight?" Twilight asked. "Positive," Starlight replied. "My new tracking spell that I've learned has never steered me wrong before." "Great job on making us these comfy snow clothes, Rarity," Fluttershy said. "Why, thank you, darling," Rarity replied. "That's just how I make my designs: Both Fashionable and Func-" "Uh, let's just focus on the task at hoof, okay?" Applejack chimed. "Fine," Rarity said. "Wait! I'm picking up something," Starlight said as her horn slowly glows. She then pointed it towards a large mountain with a hole on it from a distance, causing it to glow more intensely. "There!" "You mean we have to walk all the way over there... in the cold and snowy ruins?!" Rarity exclaimed. "We have to, Rarity. If we don't, then who knows what could happen to the Elements," Twilight replied. "So, c'mon, guys!" Pinkie Pie cheered. "Let's go save the Elements!" She and the rest of the others ran forward. "Just a few feet more and then I'll be that much closer to taking over the entire planet!" The figure said, rubbing his hands together. "Uh, boss?" Tin asked, poking the figure from behind. "Are you rubbing your hands because of the cold or because of your evil plan?" "My evil plan," The figure replied. "Oh," Tin asked. "Now, go with Tinker and check to see if anybody's there. I don't want anybody to spoil this opportunity by coming here to possibly stop me, ya know," Sid replied. "Yes, sir," Tin walked out of the room while the figure turned his attention back to the machine. Back to the Mane Six, Spike, and Starlight, who are hiding behind a large rock. They then peek their heads out and spot both Tinker and Tin searching through the frozen wasteland, but aren't able to spot them back. "Who are those guys?" Rainbow Dash whispered. "I think they might be guards, trying to make sure nopony enters that mountain," Twilight whispered back. "They don't look like any guards I've seen before," Pinkie Pie chimed. The entire group then retracted their heads back behind the rock before either Tinker or Tin could see them. "Okay, here's the plan," Twilight whispered. "Pinkie and Rarity, you two go over there and distract them while me and Starlight teleport the rest of us into the mountain." "Got it," Pinkie Pie said, saluting her hoof towards Twilight. "But what about me and Pinkie?" Rarity asked. "Don't worry," Twilight replied. "Once we make it to the mountain, Starlight and I will temporarily clone you two and then teleport you into the mountain with us while the clones are busy keeping the guards distracted." "Understood," Rarity accepted. "Yeah know, I'm starting to miss the old boss," Tin said. "At least before the accident, he was much nicer to us." "I know, Tin, but if we want to be on his good graces, we need to do what he says," Tinker replied. "Uh-hum!" Rarity said, walking with Pinkie Pie towards Tinker and Tin. "Sorry to drop by unannounced, but we couldn't help but notice what handsome guards you are." She said, blinking and flipping her mane in a flirtatious manner. "And who are you two supposed to be?" Tinker asked. "We're uh..." Pinkie Pie scratched her head before Rarity whispered in her ear. A light bulb then popped out of her mane. "We're just some random mares here to entertain and comfort you, since you seem so bored and cold out here. Nailed it." "Both entertainment and warmth? Ooo, don't mind if we do..." Tin said, walking towards them before being grabbed by Tinker. "Tin," Tinker whispered. "Don't you remember what the boss said? We're not supposed to be let off guard or let anyone into the lab," "It'll only take a little while," Pinkie Pie beamed. Both Tinker and Tin looked at each other for a bit. "Oh, alright," Tinker sighed, rolling his eyes. "But only for a short while, okay?" "Pinkie Promise," Pinkie said, crossing her chest with her hoof and putting it on her eye. Pinkie, Rarity, Tinker, and Tin walk away from the mountain while Twilight and the others watched from behind the huge rock. "Great. Now's our chance," Twilight whispered as she and Starlight light up their horns before the entire group disappeared and reappeared into the lair in a purple and cyan flash. "Perfect," Starlight whispered. "Now for phase two." Her horn glows up as Pinkie Pie and Rarity are seen dancing in front of the robots, who are wearing large blankets to warm their metallic bodies. As the two continue dancing, a bright flash of light briefly surrounded them, but nothing happened to them. "Woah! Cool light show," Tin said, clapping his metallic hands. "Yeah. Now if you'll excuse us, we need to get back to..." Tinker then spotted a bit of static from the two mares. "Wait a minute." Tinker then walks up to the two mares and lightly pokes their bodies before they disappeared. "This was a distraction!" "What?!" Tin exclaimed. "Which means, someone, or some group, is trying to enter the lab! C'mon! We've gotta warn the boss before it's too late!" Tinker exclaimed, running back to the lair with Tin following suit. "And I really wanted to be entertained," Tin said. Suddenly, Rarity and Pinkie appeared in a flash of light in front of the rest of the group. "How did it go?" Applejack asked. "It was absolutely fabulous," Rarity replied. "Truly our best work yet." "Plus, those guards didn't even notice a thing," Pinkie Pie chimed. "Except for maybe that tall one who seemed a little bit too smart for his own good, but other than that, completely distracted." "Uh oh," Starlight gasped. " I forgot to mention that the clones that I've created aren't fully tangible and can only last as long as nopony touches them." "What?!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "Then we better hurry and stop Sideros' son before they find out! C'mon!" Twilight said as she gallops across the hallway while the others follow suit. They then passed through a strange room before Rainbow Dash stopped and went back. "Uh, guys," Rainbow Dash said. "I found the Elements," The others walked back to where Rainbow was and saw that the Elements of Harmony were embedded in a large machine with a giant antenna growing out from on top of it. They also saw the figure snoring on the ground with a puddle of drool in his mouth. "Eww!" Rarity whispered, seeing the sleeping figure. "That must be Sideros' son," Twilight whispered. " C'mon. Let's slowly take the Elements and get out of here." The entire group slowly tiptoed towards the machine, but were then quickly ensnared in a large net while screaming in loud noises. The figure then quickly woke up and wiped the drool off of his mouth before spotting the group. "Huh? Intruders?!" The figure yelled. "Ugh! I thought I told both Tinker and Tin to make sure no one enters my lab!" The figure pulled out a tape recorder from his back and pressed the record button. "Note to self: Evil plan for tomorrow, berate my robot minions for their failure. Now, who are you and what are you all doing here?" "Exactly what we were going to ask you!" Twilight demanded. "One, my name is Sid. Two, that's none of your business," Sid answered. Suddenly, both Tinker and Tin ran back into the room that both Sid and the entire group were in. "Boss, some group is trying to stop your ev-!" Tin said before opening his eyes and realizing that the entire group is already trapped in a net in front of Sid. "Oh... Nevermind." Sid facepalmed before turning his attention back to the Mane Six, Spike, and Starlight. "Don't worry. They mean well," "So, you are up to no good, Sid!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "What are you planning to do to the Elements?!" "Okay, then. I'll tell you... In exposition," Sid complied. "You see, I was once a kind-hearted being who wanted to make the planet a better place until a horrible accident caused me to lose most of my morality and sanity. And since I needed a power source to fuel my latest invention, I've decided use the most powerful source of energy there is." "You mean...?" Pinkie Pie asked. "That's right. The Elements of Harmony themselves." Sid answered. "After some careful studies and intricate details, I've found a way to remove the Elements from the Tree of Harmony without the aid of magic, by carefully using science and technology. Once I did that, then I added them to my machine in order to charge up and-" "Yawn! Can you go any faster, please!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Rainbow Dash!" The rest of the group yelled. "Sorry," "Anyway," Sid continued. "Then after the machine is fully charged, all I needed to do is wait for this large antenna to fully reach beyond my lab and into the atmosphere. Thus, with the push of a button, the antenna will spread the energy across the globe, which will give me the chance that I need to take over the entire planet! Haahahaha!!! Everybody got that?" "Yes, we did," Spike sighed. "But not if we can help it!" Twilight exclaimed. "And how are you going to do that when you're trapped in my net, exactly, huh?" Sid bragged. Both Twilight and Starlight simply use their magic to teleport the entire group out of the net as all of them got into their battle positions in front of Sid. Sid takes out his tape recorder and presses the record button again. "Another note to self: Next time, try to come up with a better trap for my enemies." Sid then quickly put the tape recorder back before pulling out another remote control. "Now, I've got you, Mane Six and friends!" Sid then pressed the button and fires a laser beam at the group. The entire group then dashed out of the beam's way before Twilight stopped mid-flight. "Wait... Mane Six?" She said, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah. I just love giving my enemies group nicknames whenever they're in a group. That name just came to me, ya kno- Woah!" Sid leapt out of Twilight's magic blast before shooting another beam at Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. "Mane Six, huh? It really does roll off the tongue when you think about it," Pinkie Pie thought to herself before being grabbed away by Rainbow from another blast. "Pinkie Pie! Focus!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "Oh, right," Pinkie Pie then bounced out of Rainbow Dash's hooves before extending one of her hind legs out for a kung fu strike. She then knocked the remote out of Sid's hand. "Ow! Hey!" Sid yelled before sprinting and reaching out for the remote. Spike blew fire onto the remote, causing it to overheat and explode in Sid's face, as well as covering it in ash. "...Ow." "Now for that there machine!" Applejack said. "Ha! You're too late, Mane Six and friends! The entire planet is almost mine!" "Oh yeah?! Then why do we have the Elements in our hooves right now?" Pinkie Pie asked before she and the rest of the group pulled out the Elements of Harmony from behind. "What the-?! How did-?!" Sid stuttered. "While you were busy fightin', we decided to sneak around you and grabbed the Elements from that there machine," Applejack said. "Oh..." Sid said. "C'mon, Sid," Starlight said. "You don't have to try to take over the world in order to make it better." "Starlight's right," Twilight chimed, reaching her hoof out to Sid. "Let us show you there's another way." "I... I-I... Can't," Sid stuttered. "What?! Why not?!" Rainbow Dash yelled. "Redemption doesn't come easily, you know," Sid replied. "It takes time and work." "Well, then," Rarity said. "So much for reaching out to somepony." "But look on the bright side. At least my contraption is still in tact," Sid said. Twilight and Starlight both then blasted a magic beam at Sid's contraption, causing it to short-circuit. "Everypony! C'mon!" Twilight shouted, flying through the hallway and out of the lair while the rest of the group followed suit. "That doesn't look good," Tin said as the contraption started vibrating and heating up while both him, Sid, and Tinker backed away. The Mane Six, Spike, and Starlight escaped through the entrance and teleported away before a huge explosion occurred. Sid and his robot minions survived the explosion, but were mostly covered in ash and burn marks. "Well, at least it can't get any worse," Tin said. Suddenly, a huge avalanche slid down the mountain and covered the entrance in snow. "You've really gotta learn to keep your metallic mouth shut," Tinker said. "DANG YOU, MANE SIX!!!" Sid yelled, but the snow-covered entrance muffled his voice. > Return of the Elements > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "We see," Princess Celestia said as she and Luna flew up and placed the Elements of Harmony back onto the tree. "And you didn't even try to redeem this so-called "Sid", this time?" Luna asked, landing down towards the Mane Six. "Well, we did, but he sort of refused our offer," Fluttershy replied. "So you see why we had no choice but to stop him, right?" Twilight asked. "Yes, but still. Do you think he'll ever come back?" Luna asked. Rainbow Dash snickered. "Trust us. I don't think he'll be coming out of that mountain anytime soon." "You sure are right about that, Rainbow," Applejack said. Everybody all laughed and snickered while walking away from the tree as the overgrowing roots and plants began to retract back into it, thus freeing Equestria from the ever-growing Everfree Forest.
