> Fluttershy Signs Up for Disney+ > by Strawberry Sunrise > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Wallet Woes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Disney+ will launch on November 12th, but you can sign up right now,” Fluttershy read. Yay! She had been looking forward to Disney+ coming out for a while. She was especially looking forward to watching some of Disney’s old shows that featured animals, like the Gummi Bears one and the 101 Dalmatians one. They had both aired before she was even born, but she had used to love watching the reruns. Should she go ahead and sign up now? She thought about it for a bit, and decided to do it. She had missed the original D23 sign-up deal, which was a little disappointing, but that was okay. And they would probably send her an email or something to remind her when it launched. (Not that she was likely to forget.) With a spring in her step, she went to her bedroom, where she had left her purse, and started looking through it. Sunscreen, her keys…other things…where was her wallet? “Angel? Are you around? Did you happen to see where I left my wallet?” she asked. Angel hopped over from the other side of her bed and then nodded. “Where is it?” Angel shrugged and hopped away. “Angel,” Fluttershy said. “Did you take my wallet?” He continued to hop away. “Angel Blackberry Bunny,” she said. He turned around and she gave him the stare. He lowered his head and moved his foot in an apologetic, submissive manner. Fluttershy picked him up, and he pointed out of the room. She left the room, and he pointed down the hall. A couple more times pointing and she found the wallet tucked behind a few boxes of cereal in her pantry. “Angel, why did you hide my wallet?” she asked. Through a pattern of charades and small noises, he explained himself. “You think I’m spending too much money online?” she asked. He crossed his arms and nodded. “I should spend more money on carrots?” He nodded again. “Hmm…” she said. Now that she thought about it, she had been spending more money than usual lately. There was a book, and a video game, and then that big sale on clothing that Rarity had helped her pick out…but still, she had a job and a pretty decent amount in savings. She could afford $7 a month, and the charge wouldn’t even start for a couple months, anyway. “Thank you for your concern, Angel,” Fluttershy said. “But I think I’m doing alright. Please don’t hide my wallet again, okay?” Angel nodded, and she went to the refrigerator to get him a carrot. Leaving him to enjoy his treat, she went back to the room with the computer. (It was a desktop.) “Now, where was I?” she thought. “Oh. Right.” She took her credit card out of her wallet and clicked the link to the Disney+ website. Right now, it just featured a countdown and some general information about the service, but it was still exciting. (Though she was a little jealous of the people in that other country who had gotten the launch early.) She clicked the button that said, “$6.99/month” and it took her to a special sign-up page that explained that she would get a week-long free trial starting on November 12th. She entered her email address, clicked “Agree & Continue,” entered a password on the next page, and clicked “Continue” again. Finally, she was on the page for her billing information. Looking down at her credit card number, she was about to enter the information when she heard the doorbell ring. Well, she did still have a couple months after all. Waiting a few more minutes wouldn’t hurt. She got up and went to see who was at the door. It was a deliveryperson with a clipboard. She opened the door. “I’ll just need you to sign here,” he said, holding out a pen and the clipboard (which had a form attached). “Um…I don’t…I don’t think I ordered anything,” Fluttershy stammered. “What is this?” The man glanced down at the clipboard. “It’s an order for a Mister…Angel Bunny? Does he live here?” “Yes…” Fluttershy said hesitantly. She frowned, but signed the paper. The man went back to his vehicle, picked up a large package, and brought it back to the door. She took it and he left. “Angel Blackberry Bunny!” she called, closing the door behind her. “You come in here this instant.” Angel came hopping slowly over from the kitchen, eyes wide, trying to make himself as cute as possible in the hope that it might reduce the intensity of Fluttershy’s inevitable rebuke. It didn’t come in quite the manner he expected. “Angel, I am very disappointed in you,” she said sadly. “You took my wallet and you ordered something without my permission? Is that why you hid it? You thought I might be lower on money than usual because you spent it?” He nodded. “Well, I’m going to take…whatever this is…and you’re not going to get it back until you earn it. That means chores!” she said. He nodded sadly. She picked up the box and took it back to the computer room, closing the door behind her to keep Angel out. For a moment, she considered leaving the box closed – it wasn’t really polite to open someone else’s mail – but since it was her money and she needed to know just how much Angel owed her, she decided to open it. To her surprise, it was…a statute of Angel, apparently from some custom online shop. And a rather good one, too – it was quite lifelike. Looking at the order receipt inside, her eyes widened. It seemed that Angel was the one who really had a problem with wasting money online. And since the statue was custom-made, it couldn’t even be returned. Fluttershy turned back to her computer, which was still on the billing information page for the Disney+ sign-up process. She glanced at her credit card, then back at the statue, and finally decided to go ahead and sign up. She entered the information, clicked the final button to subscribe, and logged off. Seven dollars a month still wouldn’t make much of a difference, and she had a couple months to save up again, anyway. She looked at the statue one more time and shook her head. She couldn’t help but smile slightly at the ridiculousness of it, but was still irritated about how much it had cost. It looked like Angel would be doing a lot of chores for a while. The End
