> The Newborn Queen Of Equestria > by King Rose > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Tragedy > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1- Tragedy Elena POV It was a warm summer day at the Florida Game Convention, where me and my mama were browsing the convention vendors. I was dressed as the humanized version of my favorite character from Monster Hunter World. Xeno'jiva! The reason I loved this Elder Dragon, wasn't because they were so cool or because they were powerful. It was because of the child like connection I had always felt with the baby Elder Dragon. Though my costume wasn't complete, as I was missing one thing. The horns. When we couldn't get the horns I was so devastated, but my mama assured me that we would be able to get them at the convention, but after a few hours at the convention we've had no such luck, and I was losing hope, but then when I looked over to a different vendor, I saw them! I saw the Xeno'jiva horns! I tugged on my mama's pants and got her attention. "Hmm? Oh what is it Elena?" My mama asked. "Look! The vendor over there has the horns to complete my costume!" I joyfully told her, as I pointed to said vendor. Mama looked over to the vendor, and smiled. She picked me up and we walked off to the vendor. When we had gotten close enough I saw that on the table, there was at least one item from every fandom on the table. My eyes had stars in them as I looked over at all the items. My eyes then landed on the Xeno horns that would complete my costume. "Why hello there little lassie. I see you're looking at the Xeno'jiva horns." A slightly rough but calm and soothing voice sprouted from behind the table. I looked up to see a man who matched the description of the FimFicton Displaced stories I had heard about. I mean he did match what I had read about him, and I mean I did believe the stories about him, but I didn't think he was a bad guy. So I greeted him. "Hello Merchant, I'm Elena! The baby Xeno'jiva!" I cheerfully greeted him as I held my hand out to him. "Oh, well it's very nice to meet you Elena, I'm The Merchant." He shook my hand while greeting me back. "Now what would you like?" "How much for the Xeno horns?" I heard mama ask. "Hmm... How about I give you a discount for Elena being such a polite little Elder Dragon? I'll take $35 for them." He told my mama with a kind smile. "Oh, thank you so much." Mama thanked him, as she pulled three ten's and a five out of her wallet and handed it to The Merchant. Merchant handed me the horns and I held them tightly, as I wanted to savor the fact that I had met The Merchant. I looked up to him and gave my best smile. "Thank you so much!" I told him. "You're quite welcome little one." He responded. Me and my mama then left Merchant, and we exited the convention as it was getting dark. The two of us were walking as I held my mama's hand, and in my other hand was the Xeno horns. The two of us were nearing where our car was, when I heard a metallic clack. This sound caused both me and my mama to stop dead in our tracks. The two of us knew what this sound meant. Some one behind us was holding a gun. "Give me your wallet." I heard a male voice demand. What happened next, was that my mama tried to disarm the man with the gun, but as she turned around a loud BANG rang out. My eyes widened as I watched my mama, the person who had taken care of, and raised me, dropped to the concrete pavement. I watched as her body hit the ground. I saw the crimson blood start to pool around her stomach, staining her shirt, and leaking onto the ground. I widened my eyes, and tears started to fill them rapidly, and suddenly, I felt the pain of sorrow and sadness hit me. I dropped to my knees next to my dead mother, and I felt her hand touch my cheek. I looked at her face. She was smiling and crying. "My little Elena." She said with strain ever present in her voice. "It's all going to be ok. D-don't worry my little Dragon. I love you my little Xena..." She spoke as her life faded from her eyes and her hand dropped to the ground. I couldn't hold my tears back as I started to cry uncontrollably. I lost my mama. All I could feel in that moment was sorrow. "SHUT UP YA BRAT! DIG THROUGH HER PURSE AND HAND ME HER...!" The murderer started but was cut off as the sickening sound of a *Shink* appeared. I then saw the man who murdered my mama gain an expression of immense pain, as I looked to his chest, and saw that a hand was pushing a dagger deep into the heart of the killer. I then saw another hand pull the killer of my mama back a bit, and to my surprise the face that appeared, was The Merchant's. He had saved my life! I then saw Merchant lean into the killer's ear. "May you're soul burn in Tartarus. You dirty mother killer." Merchant told the killer as he ripped the knife out of the killers chest, ending his life. Merchant then ran over to me, and kneeled down to see if I was ok. Physically, I was fine, but Emotionally, saying "Hurt" wouldn't begin to tell you the pain I felt. The Merchant then kept repeating "I'm so sorry." over and over, because he couldn't save my mama. It wasn't his fault. I hugged him and voiced my thought. Once we broke the hug, I looked at him, and then looked down at the Xeno horns. I saw the orange parts glow slightly, as they lit up with a magma glow. I looked back up to the Merchant. "Send me to Equestria… Please." I told him. His only response was to say, "Have a nice trip, little one." with a sympathetic tone, he then laid the horns onto my head, and I felt myself lose consciousness as he caught me in his arms, he laid something in my hand, and as I held what he gave me tight, I felt myself slip into darkness. The Merchant POV I watched as Elena fell asleep and was being transported into Equestria. I watched as the tears that escaped from her eyes glow with a crystalized blue. I watched as she started to fade from existence, as she laid there in my arms, and as she did, I pulled out a coin that was the size of a quarter, and it had the design of Celestia on the front, and on the other side, it had the design of Luna. I had given this little girl MY token. But it wouldn't summon me. It would allow her to communicate with me, if she needed to talk. I then watched as she completely faded away. I then got up and walked over to the body of her fallen mother. I kneeled down next to the body, and waved my hand over it. The body then disappeared, and it too faded out of existence, but not to Equestria. To the afterlife. I then walked back over to the killer, and I opened a portal under it, sending it to hell. I then walked off out of the parking lot, but not before taking the car with me. "Stay safe Elena, stay safe." I said one last time, before opening a portal, and walking through it. Elena POV As I slowly regained consciousness I felt my back laying against a very hard surface. I opened my eyes to find myself surrounded by illuminated crystals. I then sat up and looked around before realizing that I was in the Elder's Recess. I then felt a weird sensation on my back. I turned around and saw that I had a tail, and wings. I didn't smile though. I was still in grief, and with sorrow. I then stood up and walked over to a reflective crystal. What I saw made me crack a little and small smile. I saw this. I then walked towards the exit of the Recess. I then looked down at the coin that Merchant gave me and I set it in the pocket I had. "Well, here goes nothing." I quietly told myself as I stepped out and into this new world. That's where it all went wrong. As soon as I took my first step out of the Recess, my mind essentially exploded. All I could feel was pain. Blinding pain. I cried as the pain was unbearable. It felt like all of my bones were shattering and being put back together all at the same time, and after only seconds of the pain. I lost conscious but my new draconic instincts, did not. 15 years later, Celestia POV The wind was blowing with intense heat, as a terrible roar could be heard in the distance. I felt my sister tap my shoulder as she was dressed in her midnight armor, and as I was dressed in my solar armor. I then walked over to the leaders of the Dimond Dog, Minotaur, Griffin, and Dragon races. "What's our plan of attack Celestia?" The King/General of the Griffins, King Grover asked. "We first attack it, find out what it's weaknesses are, and if we see one, we hit that spot with all we've got, and as soon as its down, we fire the Elements at it." I explained. "Are you sure this is going to work?" King Taurus of the Minotaur's asked with slight worry in his voice. "It has to." Luna stated. Then suddenly a piercing roar was sounded. The beast was drawing near. "Well, lets get this over with." General Dimond Will, of the Dimond Dogs told everyone. We all then walked out and onto the battlefield. We weren't going to let this beast get past us. I then heard General Silver Scale walk over to me as she was angered beyond belief. I would be too if something like this beast killed my father. "Is everyone ready?" I asked without turning to the new Dragon Queen. "As ready as we can be." She stated. Then a sickening roar was heard, and in the distance an enormous flying creature was seen. The Dragon roared once more, making it's presence known. It roar then created so much heat that all of the surrounding trees, were disintegrated. The other leaders, except Luna, Silver, and I, were terrified that such a powerful being was real. On the other side of the now barren dessert, the Dragon landed and created a huge crater. It looked directly at us and knew that this was a battle worth fighting, and in an instant... both sides charged. Third POV The result of the battle was devastating, as thousands of bodies littered the warzone. Suddenly a bright flash of silver light stuck something. After the dust settled, it revealed a heavily wounded Silver Scales, with the broken sword of Celestia, as the Lunar and Solar sisters laid behind the Dragon Princess turned Queen as the sisters were charging the Elements of Harmony. In front of the wounded Silver, laid a defeated Dragon. Its mouth was bleeding melted crystal, and its leg's crystals had been shattered. The Dragon Queen walked up to the fallen beast, and stood in front of its head. She only wanted to ask the beast one thing. "Why did you kill my father?!" Silver demanded. Silver expected various things to come out of the Dragon's mouth but instead, the Dragon started to glow and soon the light had caused Silver, as well as the sisters of the celestial bodies to cover their eyes. What was left behind from the light, shocked the only three remaining leaders to the core. What was revealed to be Elena Serene, laying on her back, with melted crystal blood flowing out of her mouth, and with aqua glowing tears streaming out of her eyes, she spoke with what little strength she could. "I-I d-didn't want t-to kill anyone... b-but I couldn't s-stop m-myself... I-I'm s-so s-s-sorry..." Elena weakly explained to Silver. Silver looked deeply into Elena's eyes to see if this little girl was lying, but all Silver could see was pain, suffering and loss, but most of all, Silver could see sorrow. Silver then dropped the broken sword, and lifted Elena in an upright position. Silver then did what Elena didn't think she would do. Silver embraced the girl in a hug. Elena was shocked, but soon she cried even more and returned the hug given by the Dragon Queen. Silver then looked back to the celestial sisters, and gave them a nod. The sisters nodded back and then focused their powers into the Elements, and they then shot the magical energy wave at Elena, and Silver. "What's your name?" Silver asked as the two girls were slowly being encased in stone. "M-my name is Elena Serene, but you can call me Xena." Elena told the dragon. "I'm Silver Scales. Its nice to meet the real you Xena." Silver told the still crying Elena, as she too cried. As the two of them hugged each other, they were both completely encased in stone, and in the sky directly above the two of them, a star burned brighter than any other. It burned with silver, and sapphire. "Sister, look." Luna pointed out the star to her sister. "I see it. Luna, from this day forth, this star will be called, the Sapphire star, and it shall guide all other races into a brighter future." Celestia said. Thousands of years later, Canterlot Garden, Celestia POV I walked out into the garden with my pupil Twilight Sparkle as I promised to let her see the statues. We were walking past the different statues such as team work, victory, pride, determination, the statue that imprisoned Discord, and then I saw Twilight stop at the oldest out of all of them. She had always had a fascination with this one. I stood next to her as I looked at the statue that contained Silver Scales, and the little girl. This statue represented the most important thing of all... Friendship. "Princess Celestia?" Twilight asked. "Yes Twilight?" I responded. "Who are these two?" The young filly asked. "Well the Dragon, was one of the first Queens of the dragon race. Her name was Silver Scales. But the other little girl, I do not know. Only Silver knows the answer to that." I answered. After explaining this to the filly, I saw her give out a big yawn. I then picked the filly up and took her to her room so she could get some sleep. I then closed the door to Twilight's room and walked back out and stood in front of Silver's statue. I thought about how the little girl had cried with joy after Silver had hugged her. I smiled as I knew that the little girl had finally gotten a friend. I then head a glimmering light, and I looked up to see the Sapphire star, was shining very brightly. I had to cover my eyes, and after the light had faded, in front of me, laid a scroll. It looked like the same type of scroll that had appeared when I banished Nightmare Moon to the moon. I leaned over to it and picked it up. I then held it in my hand and opened it. My eyes widened as I read what the scroll was telling me, or rather what it was prophesizing. 'On the night when the Mare in the Moon is released, and when the Elements are in dire need, the Sapphire star shall shine bright, and the light of this star shall destroy our statue, and will release us. When this happens, the Elder's Recess shall resurface, and with it the guardians of the Queen of the Elder Dragons shall rise as well, and then friendship shall rise even higher than ever thought possible. I then lowered the scroll, and looked at the statue. I smiled and walked off to the royal library. I then got out a book and started to write in it, as the night grew deep and the Sapphire star kept me company, because as we would always say. "Let the Sapphire Star guide your way." I told myself as I continued to write.
