> The fallen Prince > by red reaper > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Fell to the hatred > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A thousands years ago, before Celestia was even born, there was a prince, a young black alicorn with fiery mane named Bearious, son of King Kronus and Queen Gaia. The prince was kind hearted and good to his people, and he was one of the most powerful warriors anyone has ever seen, and he was a great wizard too. “Are you excited?” a young grey unicorn asked his prince as they walked among the training yard of the castle, “You are about to become the youngest captain there was in the royal guard.” “Why should I be nervous Star swirl?” Bearious asked his friend, “I was kind of born to this…” Bearious stopped his words as he noticed a young black female pegasus walking by the two. “Hello?” Star swirl looked at his friend and he noticed the mare as well, and he smiled, “Will you ever talk to her?” “I would love to, but not now,” Bearious told his friend as the two continued to walk towards the throne room. As they arrived, they saw the entire court was inside the room, filled with guards and nobles and in the middle was a big male blue alicorn with a beard made of the night sky, and a white female alicorn with a mane made of a rainbow flowing from her head. All bowed before the king and queen, including their son as the king walked down from his throne. “Today is a big day for you, my son,” King Kronus told the young prince. “I know father,” Bearious nodded, keeping his head down, “I am ready.” “I know you are,” Kronus smiled, and walked with his son back to the throne, “Prince Bearious, seventeen years ago, you came to this place as a private, hoping to keep Equestria safe, protect the innocent, and help those in need. Now you are the captain of the royal guards. Bearious son of Kronus, would you lead our army into the wars to come or whatever shall come?” “I will,” Bearious nodded. “Would you continue to keep Equestria safe from any threat from outside, lurking in the dark, and from inside, destroying the land?” “I would.” “And do you swear your loyalty to the land of Equestria, the land you were born to, and to all of the ponies who lived, living, and will live here?” “I do.” “Then rise, Captain Bearious!” The king ordered his son as two guards came with a new set of dark silver armor and a helmet that was entirely black, all made of the changeling hive, almost indestructible and immune to any magic attack. Bearious smiled and he took the armor, putting it on his black coat and the crowd cheered, before Bearious put his new helmet to cover his face, there was one thing he had to do. Bearious took off the armor to everyponies’ surprise, including his parents. “Father, are we finished?” Bearious asked looking at his father as he held his helmet with his purple magic. “Why is there someplace you and Star Swirl need to be?” Kronus asked chuckling. “Well,” Bearious rubbed the back of his neck and looked at Star Swirl, “Not with him.” “Go,” The king told his son, knowing what and who he was talking about, “and good luck.” Bearious smiled as he ran through the doors and left the nobles with his parents and friends. Bearious arrived to the place he wanted to be, the royal guard training yard, and he found it empty, not a single soul was there, nopony was there except a black female pegasus with a white mane and a shield as cutie mark. The mare was doing training in the sky, dodging bolts of magic from automatic casters of magic that the guards used to train blocking and dodging. “Hey!” Bearious tried to get the mare’s attention, but had no luck, the mare just ignored the stallion, and he decided to fly with her. “Hey!” Bearious tried again, but got no new results, the mare still ignored him, and she flew away. “Hey!”  Finally, the mare decided to talk to the stallion and the two got back on the ground. “What?” The mare asked the stallion in anger, only to blush in embarrassment. She could not believe she yelled at the prince right now, and the mare immediately bowed in fear, “Your highness, I am very sorry, I didn’t know you’re…” “You didn’t know I was the prince?” Bearious asked and a smile grew on his face, “Terrible, really disgraceful, you will spend your days in the dungeon because of it.” The mare’s eyes widened in fear and Bearious smile faded, “No ...No, no, I was joking, do not worry.” The mare’s fears started to fade as the prince explained, but she still bowed, “Well, you can get up now.” The mare blushed and she got up on her feet. “So….” “Spyre Shine,” The mare told Bearious her name as she took a spear to train in combat. “Well, Lady Shine, I didn’t see you in the ceremony today,” Bearious told the mare. “I wanted to train alone, other ponies can be distractions,” Spyre told Bearious. “Well, I wish you would be there, Lady Shine,” Bearious grinned. “Well, it’s not up to you,” Spyre smirked. “Well, at least you could be kind enough to let me join your training?” “You’re more than welcome to join me.” Shine smiled, and the two started training in the sky, flying as the automatic magic casters blasted a variety of spells their way. Years has passed by and the connection between the alicorn captain Bearious and Spyre Shine  grew stronger and stronger, from co workers to friends, from friends to lovers. It was hard to find the prince without his beautiful mare. Times came and went, and the prince was known to be one of the most powerful alicorns in Equestria, and monsters feared from the mention of his name, all but one tribe, the draconequus. King Kronus sent his son and a small division to bring an offer of peace to the king of the draconequus tribes, and the squad was on their way for one last mission before gaining true peace. “Beautiful isn’t it?” Bearious asked Shine as they flew above the lone forest, home of the draconequus tribes. “All this is worth it, my father was right. The sacrifice of the chest would be worth it if we could just walk into the forest, and not make a war of it.” Shine nodded and continued flying. After some time of patrolling through the sky, the alicorn and the pegasus took a rest at the top of the mountain, away from the camp. As Shine walked to the edge of the mountain and looked up at the stars and the moon, Bearious looked at his love and he chuckled. “What’s so funny?” Shine raised an eyebrow and she looked at Bearious as he stood next to her. “Nothing, I just never imagined you of all ponies thinking of the moon as lovely.” “Did you talk with him?” Shine asked Bearious as the two looked at the moon and cuddled by each other’s wings. “This is our last mission, my love,” Bearious smiled, “After this, we can go anywhere we want. Now that Celestia is born, I don’t need to carry the crown.” “You don’t have to do it,” Shine told Bearious, worried for him, “I wouldn’t mind if...” “It’s fine,” Bearious smiled and he stopped her, “Nothing else matters to me, not the crown, not my father, only you.” The two looked at each other and they started to kiss for a time. As Bearious closed his eyes, Shine felt something happening to her, as if she was being torn apart. “Bearious?”  Shine asked as Bearious opened his eyes, and what he saw was one of the worst images he had ever seen. In front of his eyes, Shine started to disintegrate into dust, “What is going on?” Shine cried in fear before she fell to the ground. “No, no,” Bearious cried as he watched his lover dying in his wings, until Shine wasn’t there. “No!” Bearious took his helmet and flew back to the camp, flying as fast as he could, but he was too late, when he arrived at the camp, he took off his helmet and all he saw was empty tents, and armor scattered on the ground, filled with dust. From sorrow to rage, the prince’s eyes started to glow in green and purple smoke came out of them and his eyes turned to the forest before putting back his helmet on, covering his now green eyes in the darkness of the hatred. “Bring in the prisoner,” King Kronus ordered the guards and the doors opened to reveal his son entering the courtroom, chained and hidden behind a mask, and the prince looked at his parents and Kronus could sense the hatred inside of him, cutting like a knife. The courtroom whispered as Star Swirl looked at his friend with sorrow. “Star Swirl,” Kronus looked at his new royal sorcerer. “Yes your highness,” Star Swirl nodded and he walked forwards, “Ladies and gentlecolts of the royal court, today we are putting Prince Bearious, son of King Kronus and Queen Gaia, brother to Celestia and the groom to the late Spyre Shine on trial for the war crime of massacring the draconequus tribes. Three weeks ago Prince Bearious and his division went bring the Crystal Heart as a peace offering and under unknown circumstances, the entire division was gone, and the heart was missing.” “Under unknown circumstances?” Bearious asked in a metallic voice behind his mask, interrupting his friend, “It wasn’t unknown, who could turn  an entire army into dust but a draconequus?!” “As I was saying,” Star Swirl continued, “After the prince arrived at the camp as he described it as a massacre scene, he decided on his own to execute the draconequus tribes without any consideration for the consequences of these actions.” “They killed my division, they killed my bride!” Bearious shouted at his father, “Do not deny it, old one! They asked for war, and I gave it to them.” “You slaughtered a village!” Kronus replied in rage, “You murdered families! Do you have any proof that would justify your madness?” “Madness?” Bearious asked as his horn glowed behind his helmet in black, “The only madness I see here is yours father. You defending monsters and killers. I swore to protect Equestria from all threats, and they proved to be a threat. Tell me father what would you do if I was killed by them, or Celestia, or mom? Would you wait to see if the obvious killer is the killer?” Kronus did not answer, but looked at his son and sorrow was in his eyes. “Lord Bearious, for your crimes against the crown, I banish you from Equestria for 14 decades. " Tears came out of the king’s eyes as his horn glowed in blue, “May you rethink your crimes in your banishment.” Bearious started to glow in blue as he looked at his father and his friend, his eyes were filled with rage behind the mask he wore and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared, as if he never was in the room. The court started to evacuate the room as Star Swirl walked up to king as he was confused. “Your highness, what about the kid we found at the village?” Star Swirl asked. “Hide him, make sure no one knows about the last draconequus.”
