Why do chickens scare you?
When Celestia and Luna arrived in the tower where Twilight Sparkle was, Twilight Sparkle didn’t know what to say, “Celestia! Luna! Help me! I can no longer raise the sun and lower the moon with this amulet because the amulet has broken! Please help me! I don’t want to cause an imbalance in the Harmony of Equestria like the last time i try to use your magic to lift the sun and lower the moon... "
“Twilight, calm down. Take a deep breath”, said Celestia.
“Yeah, Twilight. You can go home. We take care of it now”, said Luna.
Twilight Sparkle inhaled to calm down, “I’m sorry. It’s just that I’ve never touched this amulet before”
“Twilight, we know you never knew the existence of this amulet, so don’t blame yourself”, said Luna.
“You’re right, Luna,” said Twilight Sparkle, smiling. “Well, I better get going”
Twilight Sparkle flew out of the tower she, Celestia and Luna were in. Luna lowered the moon and Celestia raised the sun. They entered the room and took off the clothes they had worn on their temporary vacations.
“So, You’d like to tell you about your vacation without me?” asked Luna.
“Well, that was cool. Until a moment”, replied Celestia.
Luna was confused, “what do you mean? Did something bad happen?”
Celestia nodded, “yes. Because I saw a monster”
Luna was worried, “Did he attack you?”
“No. Thanks to Faust”, said Celestia.
“Do you know the species?” asked Luna.
“Yes, I know,” replied Celestia. “A chicken”
Luna struggled not to laugh, “what? Seriously?”
“Seriously, Luna. If I wasn’t quick, it would have turned me to stone”, replied Celestia.
“Sister, I think you’re confusing a species. Are you sure it wasn’t just a chicken?” said Luna.
“Well, it was a normal chicken, yes. But it could be a Cockatrice in disguise”, said Celestia in fear.
“Cockatrice aren’t able to change shape, Sister”, Luna pointed out.
“I know, but it’s better to be careful”, said Celestia.
Luna knew that as princess of the night, she should help her subjects face their fears. And she would help her sister, “sister, as princess of the night, it is my duty to help ponies face their fears. And I’ll help you deal with your fear. But first, I need to know, how did this fear come about?”
Celestia didn’t expect Luna to help her. Well, she should have known by now that Luna would want to help her, “okay, Luna. I tell”
Luna and Celestia, still fillies, were playing in Everfree Castle’s garden. Their mane wasn’t ethereal, they were like normal horsehair. Luna had blue mane. Celestia had pink mane. They realized it was time to lower the sun.
“Luna, I’m going to lower the sun. When I’m done, you raise the moon”, said Celestia.
“Okay, Tia”, said Luna.
Celestia used her magic and made the sun go down on the horizon. Luna, seeing the sun disappear, she used her magic to lift the moon and make the stars appear. Celestia yawned, “Well Luna, I’m going to sleep”
Luna looked sad at this, “Can’t you stay with me, Tia?”
“Sorry, Luna. But I’m tired. I need to wake up early to get the sun up”, said Celestia.
“But, but…”
“Luna, I can’t”
Luna looked at the floor, “Okay, Tia”
Celestia smiled before entering the castle, but she left the door open. Just in case Luna wants to come in and not want to stay outside the castle anymore.
When Celestia was out of Luna, Luna lay down and began to cry, “Why doesn’t Tia want to stay awake during my night?”
Because she doesn’t care about you.
Luna was startled by her voice. She looked around. But she didn’t see anypony, “Hello? Is anypony there?”
The mysterious voice laughed, “No use, Luna. You can’t see me, yet”
Luna was frightened. This thing knew her name, “you know my name. How?”
Simple, Luna. Because I am you. And if Celestia doesn’t stay with you, I’ll stay with you.
“Are you offering me to be my friend?” asked Luna.
Yes, Luna.
“Awesome! And you could show up?” said Luna.
Well, I can show up, yes. But know that only you will be able to see me.
Luna looked around to see if she could find her new friend. She saw a bigger alicorn than she. The alicorn was black, had blue armor and Cutie Mark was equal to Luna. But the difference was that it was a different color.
When morning came, Celestia went to the place where Luna was. She was surprised to see Luna on her back, to, “Luna, I woke up. Ready to lower the moon?”
Luna was startled by the presence of Celestia, but soon calmed down, “yes”
Luna lowered the moon and made the stars disappear from the sky. Then Celestia made the sun rise.
“Come on, Luna. The coffee is already on the table”, said Celestia.
Luna followed Celestia. When they arrived in the dining room, they were surprised by what was on the table, there were fruits, pancakes, and more.
“The cooks did well”, said Celestia.
“Yes, Tia”, agreed Luna.
Celestia picked up a pancake and began to eat. Luna took an apple with her magic and ate. Celestia had an idea, “Luna, I had an idea!”
Luna looked at Celestia, “what’s your idea?”
“We’re going to camp tonight”, replied Celestia.
Luna didn’t know if it was a good idea, “are you sure? Everfree Florest has many dangerous animals at night”
“Luna, we are alicorn princesses. If a dangerous animal comes to us, we’ll just attack”, said Celestia.
“Okay, Tia. But can we go when it’s near the end of the day?” said Luna. She wasn’t afraid of the dark, it was just that she didn’t want to be attacked by any dangerous animal at night until the place that would be the camp. Which unfortunately, they haven’t planned yet.
When it was almost time to lower the sun, they took their things and went to a place in the forest to camp. When they arrived at the camp site, Celestia lowered the sun and Luna raised the moon and made the stars appear. They took the branches to make the fire. Luna had already taken five and Celestia had two branches. Suddenly, Celestia saw something that caught her attention. She saw the head of a chicken on its back. She became curious and slowly walked over to the chicken. But the chicken, with its eyes closed, hid in the bushes, “chicken?”
The ‘chicken’ came out of the bush and let out a roar, “Cockatrice!!”
Celestia ran away, until she tripped over Luna, “Tia? What happened?”
“We need to get out of here! Now!“ exclaimed Celestia in fear.
“Why? What happened?“ asked Luna, still calm.
“I saw ... I saw ... A Cockatrice!” exclaimed Celestia, now in a panic.
Luna has heard of this creature. And she knew the Crockers were known to petrify whoever she looked into the victim’s eyes, “you’re right. Better to go”
Luna and Celestia took their camping gear and ran. They could be the princesses of Equestria, but that didn’t mean they would quarrel with a creature. Only if it were causing great harm to Equestria, of course. As they ran back to the castle, the Cockatrice watched the royal Sisters run back to the castle. But she didn’t follow them, just returned to the forest.
When Luna and Celestia arrived inside the castle, Celestia closed the door. Luna was in her hips, sitting up as she tried to catch her breath.
“I don’t think I’ve ever ran so hard in my life”
“Neither do I, Luna. But it was worth it. Because we managed to leave alive and not petrified”
Celestia yawned, “Luna, I’m going to bed. Have a good night”
Luna just smiled. Because she already had a friend. She looked to the side and saw Nightmare Moon, smiling at her.
When Celestia arrived in her room, she lay on the bed, covered herself and tried to sleep. But as much as she tried, she couldn’t, because Cockatrice had looked like a normal chicken in the bush, but then turned out to be a Cockatrice.
“I never imagined your fear was born of a camp we did. Why didn’t you tell me?“ said Luna.
“It’s just that I was afraid that you would judge me“, confessed Celestia.
“Sister, I would never do that. It’s Alright . Everypony has fears“, said Luna.
“Yeah. You’re right, Luna. Sorry“, said Celestia.
Celestia yawned, “I hate to interrupt this good conversation. But I need to sleep”
“All right, sister”, said Luna.
