Sunset Shimmer vs. Night Fang's 22nd Birthday Party
With alarm clock going off.
A hand knocks it off the bedside table with a straight right punch, sending the annoyance crashing to the laminate floor below.
This is Night Fang, and today was not going to be his day, at all.
As he turned to his side, he noticed his girlfriend was not on her side of the bed.
With a groan, he dragged himself out of bed and shuffled himself into the bathroom to brush his teeth.
Once in the bathroom, however, he let out an agitated growl, the cause of his agitation.
Placed on the bathroom mirror, he saw a post-it note from Sunset Shimmer which said.
"DO NOT OPEN, Especially you Night Fang
-Sunset Shimmer xxx."
Night groaned in agitation.
His girlfriend had to put a post it on the one cupboard that had his deodorant and his shaving foam in.
"You've got some bad timing babe."
With a sigh in defeat at not being able to shave or put on his antiperspirant, Night Fang resorted to using his roll-on deodorant on the countertop on the sink before using the shaving cream from the side of the sink to get rid of his five o’clock shadow.
Downstairs
Heading downstairs to try and start his day right at least with some breakfast, Night Fang heard noises coming from the back room of the house.
“Great, now we have home invaders.”
Night Fang mumbled to himself as he grabbed his baseball bat from the side of the living room door before he entered the living room.
Living Room
With bat raised, he noticed the back room was closed off.
When he tried the handle to the door, he noticed the voices in the back room hush before quick footsteps came to meet him, but when he did have the bat raised.
As quick as a flash, he nearly caved his girlfriend’s, Sunset Shimmers face in if she hadn’t have stopped him after appearing and quickly closing the door behind her.
When she turned to face a very confused, angry and agitated boyfriend in her wake with a bat in hand, she had a bright flustered look on her face from her boyfriend's sudden appearance.
"Honey, good morning, I didn't know you'd woke up."
Sunset says with a kiss to her boyfriend.
With funny look plastered on his face and bat now by his side, Sunset quickly explained why there was noise in the back room.
"Scrap Shot is fixing the TV and Loki is helping Water Lily mow the lawn."
Night Fang’s eyebrow raised before saying.
"Sunset, we can't trust Loki with a lawn mower after what he did to Rarity's rose garden remember, or did you finally trust him to be supervised this time?"
Sunset cringed at the memory.
She remembered every last detail of an angry and crying Rarity trying to murder Loki for mowing over her prized floral arrangement.
When she shook herself out of the memory, she looked back at her boyfriend with a sheepish smile.
Unaware that Night had walked right by her as he said.
"Just let me through to the back room, I can help Loki..."
At that moment, Sunset's saviour came in the form of Fluttershy, who spotted the agitated man trying to get into the back and spoke gently to him.
"Night Fang, are you forgetting you were supposed to be helping me at the shelter today."
Night Fang ended up facepalming for his own stupidity.
“Damn it, I knew there was something I was supposed to do today.
Just let me get something from the kitchen...”
Sunset, however, took this opportunity to shoo her boyfriend out of the door.
When he did try to turn back around, Sunset was just that bit quicker and handed him his lunch and kissed him goodbye leaving the man confused at Sunset’s eagerness to get rid of him.
All this was happening as Fluttershy tried to drag Night by his arm.
Obviously failing as the meek girl was basically walking in her own dust before Night walked slowly behind her.
Back in the house
With relief evident on her face.
Sunset wiped the sweat from her brow as she watched Night Fang pull off in his car with Fluttershy.
“That was too close. Any sooner and he’d have discovered what was really going on.”
Sunset said to herself.
As she turned to go in the back and finish her work.
An almighty crash came from the room.
“What in the name of Celestia was that?”
Sunset asked.
As she entered the room, her heart sank.
As she saw the back room in complete shambles, equipment is broken, food table trashed and all other assortments, strewn all over the place.
With one look, scratch that, glare at the people stood in the room, they all quickly pointed to Loki as the culprit.
Who was stood with a bemused look on his face after testing out the sound system.
When Loki noticed Sunset Shimmer was glaring a hole in him, he laughed nervously before waving.
This caused Sunset to feel like screaming at Loki, but at the same time, felt like crying.
All that hard work she had done to make sure her boyfriend’s surprise was perfect, poof, down the drain, with one look at the destroyed back room, she ran out of the door.
With Night Fang
"OK sweeties, feeding time..."
Fluttershy says to her animal friends as they appeared at the front of their cages and holding pens ready for their food.
As Fluttershy passed the food out on one side of the cages, Night Fang served food on the other side.
All was going smoothly, Night Fang was enjoying himself and that’s all that mattered, Fluttershy’s distraction was going smoothly.
Just as Fluttershy had served the last animal, her phone began playing 'Say Hey' by Michael Franti.
With one look at the caller ID.
Her eyes widened when she saw Sunset Shimmer’s name appear.
Excusing herself, she answered the phone, almost regretting it when she had to hold her phone away from her ear as she received an almighty scream of anger and agitation down her end of the phone before the speaker eventually calmed down enough to speak.
Fluttershy was the first to speak as she asked.
"Sunset what happened now?"
There was a pause until Sunset spoke.
"Fluttershy, I need you to really do me a solid, STALL. MY. BOYFRIEND!"
Night Fang looked at Fluttershy after that last bit was literally shouted down the girl’s phone from the other end.
This one occurrence made Fluttershy laugh nervously before she set the dumbstruck male a new task while she took the call.
Outside
"Seriously, you let Loki near something, don’t you remember what happened at Rarity’s."
"I know that now, it's been ages since the incident at Rarity's and I I thought Loki could be trusted for five minutes, know...I don't know.
I worked so hard on getting everything ready that I just nearly started crying on the spot before leaving the house, how is he anyway?."
Fluttershy just rolled her eyes before looking in the shop and noticed Night Fang speeding through his tasks making her panic, but she held her nerve.
"Oh he’s fine, I'll stall him, just be quick with what you are doing, he's speeding through everything like speedy Gonzales..."
SMASH followed by Night Fang yelling 'runaway hamsters' making Fluttershy sigh angrily.
"...See you later Sunset."
With Sunset Shimmer
Speeding down the freeway at nearly 80 miles per hour.
Sunset had just got off the phone to Fluttershy before she made a drifted left turn into Sweet Apple Acres, her car came to a sudden halt after she nearly crashed into Applejack who held out one leg and halted the car to a standstill, shocking Sunset Shimmer.
The drawback was Aj's strength had left a huge dent in the front bumper of Sunset’s car making the woman get increasingly angry until Applejack spoke casually.
"What can I do ya for Sunset?"
Getting out of the car, Sunset looked straight at Applejack and nearly shouted at her.
"I need more hard cider kegs."
Applejack didn't even need to guess what had happened for Sunset to be this angry.
As she motioned for Sunset to follow her to the barn where the cider was stored.
Applejack asked.
“I’m guessing someone let Loki test the speakers.”
Sunset looked at Applejack bemused until Aj showed Sunset her phone with the text from Scrap Shot, on it, Scrap had sent a video of Loki with the speakers blowing up in his face after testing the microphone.
Inside The Barn
When they entered the barn.
Sunset's soul felt like cracking even further.
The storage where Aj kept her orders, was empty.
With no barrel in sight.
Aj placed a hand on her friend's shoulder as the tears nearly started falling, no she wasn't going to give in that easy.
In Applejack's truck
As Sunset told each of her friends over the phone what Loki had done which had caused mixed reactions of anger, surprise and laughter from Rainbow Dash until Sunset explained that Loki had run over Rainbow's soccer ball with the lawnmower which set her to angry.
The objective was simple, clean up and redo Night Fang's 22nd Birthday Bash.
And so began the long arduous task of finding everything that they had.
Later
Every store the girls went to was a bust as they had sold out of what they wanted for the bash, which at that point had caused Sunset to mentally break down.
When they got back to the house however they noticed Loki was stood outside waiting for his scolding from Sunset Shimmer and the girls before he spoke.
"If I may speak for myself...for just one moment before I end up not being a friend any more, I want to apologize for ruining my big sister and my best friend's hard work that they put into my brother's birthday party, I know I may be seen as clumsy but I hope I have made it up to you by this kind gesture."
Loki motioned for the girls to come into the house and close their eyes.
Inside the House
"Girls, as my apology, accept this token as my way of saying sorry."
The girls couldn't believe their eyes, Loki had gone through all the trouble of cleaning up and reordering everything Night would like.
In the top left-hand corner near the food table, there were the barrels of hard cider and Sweet Apple Acres Whiskey.
There were brand new speakers at the far end of the room with Pinkie and Vinyl Scratch spinning a few tracks on the turntables Scrap had installed.
A single disco ball hung above the room which had 'Happy Birthday Night Fang' written with an electronic board around the disco ball.
The TV was hung perfectly on the wall, confetti canons were placed near the door for Night Fang's big entrance.
The pool had been filled to the brim by Big Mac and Bulk Biceps, who waved to the girls who looked on in awe before they walked to the games room Night had installed last year after graduation, everything was there.
Sunset Shimmer was stunned.
Loki had gone from villain to hero in less than 12 hours, was there nothing this little mischief maker couldn't do until 'Feel Invincible' by Skillet announced Loki's phone ringing and on the other end, was his brother.
"Sup Night?"
The girls looked like a bomb had just dropped with the looks they were giving Loki as he talked away to his brother.
"Yea, I'm with the girls now, what do you mean you're held up, how did the hamsters get loose, well pick them up gently and place them back in their cages..."
Loki rolled his eyes at his brother from his position on the phone before putting the phone to his chest and motioning for the girls to go get ready before saying to Sunset.
"I'll put him on speaker Sunset."
Sunset did the kill it motion to Pinkie and the room went quiet as Loki put Night on speaker.
"Babe, I'm kinda held up, I accidentally knocked the latches on some of the animals' cages, I'll be home in roughly an hour if Fluttershy doesn't murder me, Love you always babe."
"Love you too, Night, get here safe."
When the phone was hung up, it gave Sunset the perfect chance to go get changed, the other girls thought the same, leaving Loki alone with Pinkie and Vinyl.
Sometime Later
A midnight blue Chevrolet pulled up outside Sunset's house, announcing the arrival of one Night Fang and Fluttershy, Night Fang was now in his best jeans and button up shirt which he had changed into at the shelter toilets.
"Well, today was interesting."
Night Fang had begun saying until Sunset Shimmer came out to greet him with a kiss.
She was in a teal sort of dress and her hair was made up as well*.
Night thought she looked stunning but the real kicker was the fact she had her hands behind her back causing Night to grow curious at what she was hiding.
"Do you know what today is Night?"
"I have no idea babe, what is it?"
With a coy smile, Sunset handed the gift to Night Fang who was pleasantly surprised at how simple the gift looked.
"I remembered you preferred your gifts simple and affordable, so I went to the local printing place and got this done for you.”
As Night opened the package, he was indeed surprised.
"Winter prom."
Night asked with a smirk.
"It was just after I had won prom queen, we had this picture taken before we got home and rocked the casbah."
Sunset replied as she was gently lifted off the ground in a hug before being planted with a kiss that had caught her off guard.
The moment was interrupted by one Loki who had found the two outside as he had brought out two cups of hard cider for the couple.
Night chuckled at his brother before linking arms with his girlfriend and entering the house.
Inside
Once inside Night prepared himself for the worse as Sunset had entered the other way.
Once Night Fang was stood at the back room door entrance in the living room with a hand on the door handle, he took a breath before opening the door.
The sight he got once he turned on the light switch made him reel back in surprise.
"SURPRISE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY NIGHT FANG."
Night Fang had a hunch at why Sunset was being suspicious all day but this was something mind blowing.
He never thought he'd see another birthday after the incident with Siren but here he was.
He was greeted by his closest friends and was given a small but hefty amount of gifts, but all that mattered was the fact that he was here to witness his 22nd birthday.
With the party in full swing, Night was drinking all the girls under the table, he even helped play matchmaker between Mac and Fluttershy, in Night Fang's words, Fluttershy needed to pony up and go get her man.
It took a lot of coaxing and a spiked punch bowl to get her to woman up as Mac couldn't believe how lucky he'd gotten.
Next up was the little billiards tournament, a very drunk Water Lily won that after distracting the competition with her assets.
Sunset amused Night Fang the most, she was dancing to 'Lady Marmalade' with Rarity and Cherry Blossom.
When she spotted Night she went and danced on him which earned a lot of hollers and catcalls, Night Fang wasn't complaining and neither was Blackheart, who had vanished upstairs with Cherry Blossom.
Besides the odd mishap, Loki noticed the mood dying down as he put on some slow numbers as he took the mic.
"For all you ladies who have hooked up tonight, grab your man and get on the floor, we're about to slow things down with some slow numbers and some sexual enhancement music"
Night Fang noticed Rarity had been dancing with a random boy from another school who Night Fang had on his Ponybook as one his friends who had piqued her interest.
Water Lily was dancing with Loki after he had come down from the booth.
Fluttershy was dancing as steadily as she could despite being wasted after some spiked punch.
Applejack was dancing with one Scrap Shot while Pinkie, was once again the lonely one as she sighed in unhappiness.
Nearly all the men had been taken, it was short lived however as a person she hadn't seen in three years reached a hand out to her from the crowd.
"Wanna dance?"
Pinkie looked up to see her ex-boyfriend Cheese Sandwich looking straight at her making her do a double take towards Night Fang who gave her the thumbs up before she took Cheese's hand before mouthing thank you to Night Fang who had Sunset on his arm giggling like a giddy school girl.
"What's so funny?"
Night asked his girl who at this point was swinging from his arm in happiness and tipsiness.
"I'm just thinking, we should blow this turkey shoot and get upstairs, I'm feeling a lil’ frisky and I need the birthday boy to scratch my itch."
Night Fang just nodded and followed his girl upstairs where the night was really about to begin for the drunk couple.
Next Morning
Night Fang woke up that morning with a hell of a hangover and a very sore crotch that morning.
The first thing he noticed was Sunset Shimmer fast asleep beside him.
She was going to really feel like crap today and walk really funny.
But right now, Night couldn't help but admire the beauty next to him despite how messy her hair was after what they did.
Night was falling in love all over again but when Sunset awoke she noticed her boyfriend looking at her and asked.
"What time is it?"
Sunset asked uneasily as she clutched her boyfriend in a tight hug which he returned gently.
"It’s 8:30 am and I think we've earned a few more hours, you did drink a lot, last night babe."
Sunset groaned in agony before hitting the pillows with her head making Night Fang laugh at his girlfriend, he only stopped when Sunset slapped him softly on the chest before going back to sleep nestled against Night as he looked up at the ceiling smiling with Sunset on his arm.
The day Sunset showed him her pet lizard Ray, he wasn't too fussed to the idea of a pet in the house, but what possessed his beloved to get a lizard of all things.
That was beyond his comprehension, even when she had to explain the story of her wanting a pet since she saw all their friends with their pets.
Once the look on his face vanished, Sunset spoke.
"He's not just a lizard babe, he's a little ray of sunshine that caught my eye the moment I met him."
Sunset said this while swooning over her pet as he nuzzled his owner’s cheek and Sunset nuzzled him back on the top of his head.
Night Fang just couldn't understand what was so special about this one cold-blooded creature that had his girlfriend's heart.
So for the next few days, Night Fang watched his girlfriend and her pet bond to understand why a pet was so important to her and their friends.
School
When he was in school lunch with his brother and Scrap while his girlfriend was sat with her friends.
He noticed Loki had a squirrel on his shoulder.
Being the curious one this time, Night Fang asked.
"Err, Loki, why do you have a squirrel on your shoulder?"
Catching his little brothers attention, Loki smirked before letting the squirrel onto the table to sniff Night Fang before nuzzling his hand making Night Fang raise an eyebrow before Loki spoke.
"Night, this is my pet squirrel, his name is Sir Nuttington de Santa Maria Cruz the Third, Nutty for short, I saved him from another squirrel by punching it in the face and scaring it off when I was on my home from school yesterday, I trained him and everything.”
Night's eyes widened at Loki's random idea for a pet.
The name and how he obtained such pet was a whole different story.
How in the hell had his brother managed to get a squirrel to be his pet, then again another question that popped into his head made him say in his head.
'WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL THE PETS COMING FROM?!'
Night looked at the squirrel nuzzled against his arm fast asleep.
Oddly enough, he had something on his mind and he was going to involve his girlfriend to the fullest.
When he smirked over towards Sunset and her friends, she caught on when she turned to face him, she knew exactly what he was thinking as Sunset turned to face Fluttershy.
Pet shelter
"Welcome to the Pet Shelter Night, we have so many pets for the right people."
Fluttershy was saying as she walked through the door while Night and Sunset walked in holding hands.
As he stared in wonder at the many pets in the shelter, his girlfriend walked around with Ray on her shoulder.
Night couldn't help but be drawn to the mice, but when he held one up in his hands, Sunset shrieked and hid behind Fluttershy, causing Night to look on in disappointment.
In the fish tank area, Sunset was happy to see the bask fish Fluttershy offered her, but Night wasn't interested in what he called 'food for thought' leaving the two girls appalled at Night's answer.
They tried every pet but one by one, none pleased the male until one section caught his eye.
Without a second thought, he entered it without his girlfriend and friend knowing.
In the 'To be Put to Sleep' section
As Night looked around the condemned area, he noticed dogs that were unwanted for so long, that they had a mark on their cage that said 'not adoptable' or ‘To be put to sleep’.
As he passed so many dogs that were either dying, crippled or nothing wrong with them but were put here because no one wanted them.
The sights made Night Fang feel like crying at the poor creatures until he saw the dog who noticed him first by barking towards him.
"Hey, there baby girl, what are you doing in this part of the shop."
Night Fang says softly to the female border collie which was quite happy to see him as she stood up on her hind paws and placed her front paws on the cage bars.
Once Night Fang read the reason the dog was not up for adoption, he looked grimly at the dog before saying with a sad smile.
"You are beautiful aren't you, shame you're not for adoption."
Night couldn’t take looking at the heartbreak in the pups eyes as she began to whimper making Night's heartbreak.
“Sorry Fluttershy, but I need to do this.”
Whatever he was feeling towards this pet made him snap the latch on the kennel with a straight hard kick, causing the cage door to swing wide open and the dog to bound and leap at Night Fang and attack him with licks to the face making him smile and laugh at the friendly dog.
Eventually, he had to say.
"OK, OK, let me up girl, come on."
As he stood up, the collie jumped into his arms and fell asleep comfortably in Night Fang's embrace.
Now he knew what it felt like to love a pet like his best friend.
“Come on girl, let's get you a new home.”
Out of the Kennels
When Night Fang walked out through the doors of the restricted area towards his girlfriend, he says proudly.
“I think I found my pet.”
When Fluttershy saw this, she was going crazy at Night Fang.
"Night Fang, you know dogs who are in there are not for adoption, please put her back."
Fluttershy says softly as she tries to pry the dog from Night's arms only for the dog to growl furiously at Fluttershy making her recoil in surprise and shock.
When the dog got comfortable again, Sunset stepped in.
"Come on Night Fang, I know you want a dog, we can see that, but that dog isn't up for adoption as Fluttershy said, we can get you a dog that is up for adoption."
Just like the collie, Night Fang wasn’t having it.
"But I didn't pick her, she picked me and that's what should matter, Ray picked you to remember, so it’s the same scenario here."
Night Fang had Sunset there.
Ray and Sunset were perfect because they chose each other just like the dog had picked Night Fang.
Because he saw her plight, he picked her.
She was very skinny, almost skeletal because the guy who had her last mistreated her before dumping her in a cardboard box in the street to die.
Night Fang had one last tactic.
"Sunset, look at her, you wouldn't say no if you were adopting her would you?"
Sunset looked at the now awake border collie who gave her the cutest stare possible making Sunset's heart melt in her chest.
Ray even climbed down from Sunset's shoulder to get a look at the sickly dog.
All Sunset could do was watch.
As she looked at the lizard and the dog before Ray cuddled into the dog's fur on her back making the girls d'aww while Night felt his heart melt.
"After that sight, I think we should get the paperwork for her and take her, what do you think Sunset, can we take her?"
Night asked as two pairs of heads in the form of Ray on the collie's back and the collie herself looked at Sunset expectedly, she had to admit, it was a cute sight.
"Fluttershy, can you change the collie's adoption status and find the adoption papers, we'll take her after all."
Sunset asked to which Fluttershy nodded in confirmation making the dog bark happily.
Later
Once registration was complete, Night looked at the spot that should have the dog’s name in.
He could only think of one name for his new friend, so as he wrote the words on the paper, Sunset overlooked and was pleasantly surprised as the words on the sheet read.
'Lady'
"And now, she's our lil lady."
Night Fang says happily as he placed the collar around Lady's neck, barking happily and licking her new owners while Ray nuzzled his new adopted sister.
Back Home
Once everything was paid for, the journey back was easy on Lady as she adjusted to her new environments of the car and when they arrived at the house itself.
Night carried his new dog into the house before letting her walk when they entered the home before turning to Sunset and saying.
"She'll be very happy with us."
Sunset nodded before giving her boyfriend a peck on the cheek before walking into the living room while Night stood in the hall and smirked before he himself followed into the living room to play with his new dog.
Ship It Like Fed-ex (A Wallflower and Scrap Love Story)
Loki’s P.O.V. (Throughout the story until Scrap’s parts and the prom part)
There she was again, that one girl no one ever seemed to notice, letting everyone walk all over her while seeming mute to the world.
No one saw her and to be honest, no one seemed to care at all for the green-haired girl, she seemed to be used to being forgotten, all alone in her little world to herself.
That was until I decided to notice her.
Let me explain, it was just another normal school day for me, people clamouring for my attention, Water Lilly by my side, Night Fang was doing something with my friend Scrap involving science for the upcoming hearts and hooves day shtick.
That’s when I saw her, she wasn’t hard to spot, she was just sat on the nearest bench outside the school, face deep in her gardening book, something about petunias I gathered.
Why this girl interested me, I could never tell, but I noticed that since Sunset and the others befriended her, she had gone back to being forgotten again, nope I wasn’t having it.
Outside
Once I got free of the horde of people and got outside, she wasn’t there any more.
“Damn, where’d she go?”
She moved quickly for someone who was hardly noticeable, this gave Loki a new challenge.
“Game on girl.”
Sometime in the week
“Not too long now till Hearts and Hooves Day, students are reminded they must submit their cards for the student body by next Wednesday.”
The usual shuffle through school, with the big romance day being on this Friday and the dance next Wednesday, we’d just been reminded to submit cards to the members of the student body.
So why was I currently surrounded by some of the female student body, the one time I wished Lily was not ill that day.
Well, I was busy trying to sell Scrap Shot off to the first girl who wanted him, the only way to get rid of his loneliness.
“That’s right ladies and gentlemen, for no fee, you can date this bonafide stud muffin, always wanted a mix of brains, a great body and a down to earth guy, in no particular order.”
I winked at the girl nearest to me, causing her to faint, making me chuckle as I say to myself with a small smirk.
"These girls are eating this up, I may have found Scrap a long term girlfriend."
Despite my best attempt to hide my scheming smirk, Scrap looked at me worried and slightly disturbed.
The girls soon started making their bids with various items (PG of course).
Me being me, I decided to look at the various items thrown around Scrap Shot, some, of course, were so many unmentionables, that the blush on my face and the nose bleed threatening to shoot from my nose, could not comprehend it all.
“Ok, so we have some car keys, 50 bucks, 100 phone numbers and some very racy underwear...”
I noticed the girl who had thrown them, it was one of Scrap’s friends, Minuette, making me smirk before looking at other stuff.
One thing that did catch my eye, was a single flower.
“...And a single rose.”
After reading the tag on it, I noticed it was from the girl I was chasing down before I scanned the crowd and spotted the girl from before, trying not to make herself seen by me which caused me to smile warmly before getting the ladies attention.
“Ok ladies, if there are no more bids, then Scrap has found his date for the valentines dance. But due to the private nature of this girl, I will not announce it publicly, so thank you all for coming.”
Despite the groans of disappointment from the ladies in attendance, they soon dispersed, leaving me alone with Scrap and the girl who didn’t want to be seen.
“Loki, what’s going on?”
Scrap asks me curiously, but before I answer, I motion to the girl to come over, despite initial hesitation, she walks over.
“Scrap Shot, meet Wallflower Blush, Wallflower, this is my best buddy Scrap and you two...”
I place them together in front of me before speaking again.
“...Are dates for the dance next Wednesday.
I will monitor your progress and hopefully, something comes out of it for the both of you.”
The two looked like deers in the headlights, and it was freaking adorable.
Plus I was doing my friend a favour, since every time he hooked up with a girl, it lasted weeks, my hope was for him to get a long-time girlfriend.
The shyness between the two was a start.
The Next Day
Getting my books from my locker, I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of Wallflower Blush, looking adorably shy, as per usual, stood waiting for me to close my locker door before I acknowledged her.
“Can I help you Wallflower, you seem lost.”
The words seemed lost to her, I could tell she wasn’t used to people speaking to her before.
Today was no different.
With a gentle sigh, I spoke for her.
“Is this because of the auction yesterday?”
I got my confirmation with a soft nod, making me sigh with a smile before speaking.
“I’m all ears, what’s on your mind?”
Realising I was someone who she could confide in, she spoke.
“I wanted to thank you for not announcing I was Scrap’s date yesterday, you boosted my confidence setting me up with him, I never could work up the nerve to ask him myself, considering...”
I had to stop her there.
“Look, Scrap needs to know that a girl wants a long term with him.
He and Sour Sweet from Crystal Prep only lasted 8 months because she left him for some guy in Cloudsdale, so now is the best time to open himself up to a relationship, plus I’m sick of dragging him out to nightclubs and him shooting down my efforts because of his stubborn ass…
I feel this is my last chance to make something work for him.”
With that, I pat Wallflower on the shoulder before walking away to meet my girlfriend.
Later That Day
“LOKI WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!”
Ah, my favourite part of the day.
Explaining to Scrap Shot my idea, only for this stubborn asshole to shoot me down, yet again, Sigh, OK, time to bring out my argument.
“Dude, you and Wallflower are compatible, you know nothing about her, which is good by the way, you can learn by getting with her, she only knows the stories she heard about you, show her something to dispel them, plus, she’s up for it to boost her confidence.”
Scrap looks at me with a downtrodden look before I speak again after slapping him upside the head.
“Trust me, this time, my plan will work, I just need your stubborn ass to work for me this time instead of shooting it down like you always do.”
Scrap sighs again before looking at me again and speaking.
“OK Loki, what did you have in mind?”
The cheesiness of the Cheshire cat grin adorned on my face caused my buddy to be concerned at what I had planned for his date.
Saturday Morning (Scrap’s P.O.V.)
I must admit, I haven’t felt this nervous since Fleur De Lee was my girlfriend.
Loki sat next to me in the mall food court, he was chowing down on one of the burgers he’d ordered while I ate a panini.
Man why did I let him talk me into these things, I couldn’t face Wallflower Blush like this, oh boy was I nervous.
Loki must have read my mind because when he finished his orange and lemon slushee, he looked at me and said.
“You OK over there bud? you look you witnessed a train wreck somewhere.”
With that, I let a light chuckle escape me before I answered him.
“Just sweating this date you’ve set me upon, I’m worried I’ll mess up.”
Loki looks at me with a smirk before clapping my shoulder and saying.
“Trust me, Wallflower will love you, just turn on that Scrap Shot charm and you’re good to go...just...do
don't turn into a sleazeball, then I would chase you out of town with my brother’s baseball bat for messing up my plan.”
We both laugh, it was good that I had a friend like Loki, feel like crap, need a laugh, take 1 Loki and call me in the morning and you’ll never feel blue again.
Without warning, while I was starting to eat, Loki says.
“Heads up and play it cool, your lady has arrived.”
At Loki’s words, I nearly choked on my panini before I looked to the entrance and there she was, OK Scrap, don’t mess this up.
Oh who am I kidding, I felt like shit, I was going to ruin Loki’s plan before it even began and then I’d have a metal bat around my skull the next day.
OK, breathe Scrap Shot, turn on your charm or just be your usual dorky self and scare her away with your awkwardness, actually don’t do the last part of my second plan, definitely don’t do that you dumbass.
Before I knew it, Wallflower was stood before me in all her shy glory.
Cute little light green sundress on her petite frame which hugged all the right places, she wore leggings underneath along with light green pumps with a floral design on them, my god she was gorgeous, so why couldn’t I say anything.
It’s OK, however, Wallflower Blush was in the same boat as me, goddammit why was she so adorable.
Thank goodness for Loki being the first to speak.
“Well, Wallflower, who’d have thought for your first ever date, you’d be going around Canterlot mall with this guy huh, don’t let his playboy look fool you, he’s a sweetheart who just loves commitment to the fullest, ain’t that right Scrap me ol’ son.”
I couldn’t form the words in my mouth, Wallflower Blush had me at a loss for words, that was until I felt something stamp on my foot making me yell in anger until I noticed that Loki had tried to get me to speak, so regaining my composure, I spoke.
“Indeed, just never thought I’d be dating someone as lovely as you Miss Blush.
Red Flag waving, I had gone into my charming sleaze bag mode, I soon brought myself out of it after Loki cut motion with his hand against his neck, indicating it was the wrong thing before she spoke quietly.
“Thank you, I don’t see myself as lovely but I tried to make some sort of effort for you since I don’t know you that well Scrap.”
OH MY GOD, STOP BEING SO FREAKING ADORABLE, I was internally screaming to myself but before I could speak, Loki sounded off.
“Good to see you two future lovebirds connecting, whelp, I’ll leave you guys to it and maybe I’ll see you two holding hands at the end of this or wanting a second date.
Me, I’m heading to the ol’ arcade to play Prime ape 2: Streets of Mephistopheles, so I’ll see you later on since I was Scrap’s chauffeur today and he owes me petrol money.
Have fun.”
With that, Loki left me with my date, and that’s when the awkwardness descended upon the two of us.
So, me being the gentleman, I spoke first.
“So...want to grab a smoothie or watch a movie, maybe do some window shopping?”
Wallflower looks at me before nodding with a small smile before answering.
“A smoothie sounds good.”
Wallflower answers and then we are on our way.
Once we had grabbed our smoothies, I got to know Wallflower Blush a little better, and her to know me better, as we talked and talked about random stuff we both found amusing or just sharing interests from our favourite hobbies to other random crap, we shared it all.
Once she was fully warmed up to me, I decided to head to the arcade with her, but instead of being lured into the temptation of joining my friend Loki on the Prime Ape 2 machine and being a dick to the girl I’m on the date with, I went on the grabber machines.
While Wallflower watched in amazement that I’d managed to con the con machines with ease, winning a plushie of a kitten which I gifted to Wallflower, making her smile in thanks at the thoughtful gift.
At of the corner of my eye, I noticed Loki had snook a look at us two during the exchange of the gift, could have sworn I saw him smile until I saw him getting owned by a 12-year-old at the arcade machine, Wallflower notices this and looks back at me with a confused look.
“You don’t find me boring do you?”
Oh shit, she must think I want to abandon her to go join Loki on the cabinet in the corner.
When I looked at her looking sad, I sighed.
“Look, Wallflower, if it was any other girl, I’d tell her to do one so I could join Loki on Prime Ape, but with you, I think I want to spend time with you more.”
Her face brightened up slightly before I continued.
“I was super nervous at how this was going to go today but I think, I’ve done well to show you a good time if you think I have that is.”
My answer was given in the form of a hug, which I happily returned.
Once we disengaged, we carried on with our date, away from the arcade and into pastures new, we went to the stores in the mall and I never thought I’d see myself having fun in an unknown part of this place except when I’m in the computer store.
But today, I just wanted to show Wallflower Blush I could be a good potential boyfriend to her and try and bring her out of her shell and open up more to me, and me being my goofy self certainly helped my cause with the shy girl.
Later after Coming out of the Cinema
“OK, after that, I’m exhausted, think it’s time we dragged Loki out of wherever he is this time and go home.”
Wallflower giggles at me, causing a small smile to grace my lips before we set off to find Loki, only to find him being thrown out of an adult store by security.
“YEAH WELL, IT’S NOT MY FAULT YOUR WIFE WANTS BETTER YOU DUMB BASTARD.”
When Loki realised me and my date were stood watching him, he rubs his head in embarrassment before speaking.
“Sorry about that, some jackass couldn’t handle one of my jokes so they threw me out of one of my girl's favourite stores.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle before I felt Loki’s eyes boring into my hand, not noticing Wallflower’s hand was there, interlocked fingers and all.
Mission Accomplished.
Wallflower’s house, Sometime Later (Back to Loki’s P.O.V.)
Took you long enough to get back to me, anyway, with my eyes focused on the road ahead of me despite being parked up.
I kept my eyes on my passengers as they stood on Wallflowers doorstep.
I couldn’t make out what they were saying, but I know Scrap received a kiss on the cheek before Wallflower bade him goodnight and Scrap ran down the pathway, jumping in happiness before he got into the car in the shotgun seat.
The first question I asked was.
“So, is it a done deal?”
Scrap couldn’t help but sigh in relief while I pulled away in the car and he began explaining that she enjoyed her very first date so much, she wanted to go get lunch after school on Monday.
I was happy for the guy, really I was, he has finally overcome the label that his ex had placed on him months ago, let’s just say I’m not gonna repeat what she said to him.
Just trust me on this, you readers don’t want to know.
Once I’d drop Scrap off home, I set off myself, wondering what the next few days would offer.
Next Week Tuesday
After finding out what I found out, I was fuming, no not fuming, furious.
Remember the dinner date I mentioned that happened yesterday, two words.
Sour Sweet.
Yep, Scrap’s ex-girlfriend had humiliated Wallflower in front of everyone and now she was refusing to talk to Scrap.
The first person who just happened to note I was fuming, none other than my girlfriend, who knew my look from anywhere when I was peeved.
“Someone ruined something of yours Loki?”
I look at Lily before going back to the staring contest with my drink, taking my silence as a yes, Lily pipes up again.
“Look, Loki, you tried your best, you can’t help one of our friend’s exes ruining something you worked hard to set up.”
With that, I stand up with a sigh and look at my girlfriend in the eyes.
“It’s time for plan B and it involves prom, Lil, find Wallflower Blush, I’ll drag Scrap Shot and we’ll work this out between them.”
Lily nods before I leap from my seat to activate my plan, first by grabbing Scrap by his ear while he is sat with Minuette to the cry of “What the hell Loki!” while Water Lily gently coaxes Wallflower to follow her.
THE Room
“First off, sorry for dragging you here you two but I can’t let your blossoming relationship go to the dogs as it did because of SOMEONE’S EX-GIRLFRIEND.”
Scrap looks down guiltily before I pipe back up.
“Now, first of all, Scrap Shot, you should have defended Wallflower instead of sitting there like you have no balls when Sour Sweet is dressing her down.”
Scrap was about to defend himself but I cut him off.
“I didn’t set that date up last week for nothing Scrap, I want you to get a girlfriend and keep her this time and you can’t do that if your sat feeling sorry for yourself.
Now, I’m going to leave this room, you two better have made up by the time I come back, otherwise, I’m whooping both your asses.”
With that, I left them to it.
Hours later
As time passed and the talking ceased. I decided to check on them, only to find the two holding hands while facing each other in their seats.
Deciding to leave them be, I gently closed the door and gave the thumbs up to Lily before I walked out into the hall with the biggest smirk on my face.
Another relationship saved thanks to yours truly, I thank you.

Wednesday Evening, Night of the Valentines Dance
Thank you, Mr Author, now, I know what you guys are thinking, Loki, what are you wearing for tonight's dance?
Well, dear reader, I settled on a smart t-shirt and jeans with my slip-on shoes from my first date with Lily.
Scrap, the loveable lug, decided to go for something similar, except his shirt said ‘Geek O’clock’ on it.
His idea, not mine.
He also wore black jeans and sneakers because considering who is date was and the fact she liked Scrap when he dressed casual, that’s what he went with.
Travelling in my car besides Scrap was my other friend in my version of the humane six, this time it was Crystal Shield, Crystal Lance’s older brother and former army man.
This dude was a pure badass and a sweetheart, but mostly here to be security for the event and I had offered to give him a lift when I picked up Scrap and his date for the dance.
Wallflower’s House
Once we had pulled up outside, Me and Shield noticed Scrap was sweating bullets, until Shield slapped Scrap hard on the back before saying.
“Well we’re here geekzilla, go get your date.”
Scrap looked at Crystal like he was crazy until I stepped in by speaking.
“Ease up your nerves Scrap, just remember, you want this relationship to work, don’t get cold feet now bud.”
With a gulp, Scrap got out of my car and set off up the front path while me and Crystal Shield offered our commentary while watching it unfold.
“Ok, he’s at the door, he seems to be hesitating for some reason, come on dumbass, knock or ring the freaking doorbell.”
That was my side of things, Shields...well.
“He’s gonna blow it, Loke, he looks ready to run like a scalded dog with a liver tail.”
I couldn’t agree more, This one situation caused me to climb out of my window and look over the roof and shout.
“KNOCK ON THE DOOR YOU MARY SUE!”
The reaction was Scrap jumping out of his skin and quickly knocking on the door in a panic.
Making me laugh to myself just as Crystal had just gotten out of the car and stood menacingly against the door with his arms crossed as it felt like ages before Scrap’s date answered.
We watched the whole thing go well, ‘cept for her old man showing up and nearly cocking it all up for Scrap.
The poor guy was already a wreck, he didn’t need some dude with a gun on his ass.
Deciding this was the best time to step in, Crystal Shield walked over to the front door.
Trust me reader, when a hulking 6’10 gentle giant walks over, you best have a good reason for the delay otherwise Shield is on your ass like an evil drill sergeant.
Luckily once Shield showed up, it all went smoothly before the two in question was escorted over by the towering hulk of a man, I was crapping bricks, I honestly thought something was going to go wrong, but once the two lovers got in the car, we were on the move to the school.
School (No P.O.V.)
Once all four of them pulled up at school, the dance was just getting started with all the couples filling into the building.
With the car parked in the lot and Loki making his way over to his girlfriend, Scrap and Wallflower stood out front.
Wallflower was hanging back, but it didn’t go unnoticed by Scrap who took her hand and squeezed it gently, making Wallflower smile shyly at her boyfriend before they walked into the building.
School Gym
Once the two walked into the hall, Scrap was at a loss for words, Pinkie Pie had really outdone herself this time with the theme and decorations for tonight’s dance, there was the odd wallflower on the wall (pun intended) because they didn’t want to work up the courage to go dance with their crushes or best friends.
The obvious two wallflowers being Night Fang and Wallflower Blush, Scrap had gone to get some punch, but Night Fang, being the guy he is, saw this as his chance to finally speak to Wallflower.
“Scrap’s new girlfriend huh, Wallflower is it?”
Wallflower looked confused at first until she realised Night Fang was indeed talking to her, this gave him his cue to continue.
“Look if you’re wondering why I’m talking to you, it’s because I've known you for ages, it’s just that, with what happened with the sirens, I haven’t had chance to speak much with you, believe me, I have noticed you.”
Night Fang noticed Scrap talking to Midnight Luna and Sunset Shimmer causing Night Fang to pull himself off the wall and say to Wallflower in leaving.
“I’m gonna drag him over here, it’s not right he’s left you by yourself.”
With that Night Fang headed over to the punch table.
Table
“So where is your date Scrap, I didn’t see her come in with you?”
Midnight asks curiously until Night Fang stepped in with a serious look on his face.
“HIS date is stood by the wall, wondering why her boyfriend hasn’t returned with her drink.”
Scrap looks over at Wallflower Blush stood by herself bored making him gulp before looking at Night Fang who has his brow raised before Scrap says.
“I’ll just head back then, nice seeing you two.”
With that Scrap scurried away, this caused Night Fang to sigh, Sunset took this as her cue to speak.
“I take it Scrap has a habit of leaving his dates high and dry?”
Night Fang nods.
“He’s scared is all, Loki best push him in the right direction otherwise I have a baseball bat fit for round his head.”
This causes Sunset to shake her head with a smirk before we see Night Fang motion to Loki on the DJ decks about Scrap.
With Loki
Seeing his brother signal to him, Loki nodded before playing some slow music before announcing on the mic, while he was stood with said track spinning.
“Now, will all the couples make their way to the dance floor as we slow it down with some ol’ Loki mood-enhancing music because your best friend Loki has just what you need on this Saturday night.”
With track spinning, Loki notices Scrap gently prying his girlfriend off the wall for a dance, she rejected at first but Loki called over on the microphone.
“You know something guys, let’s get some motivation going, I have two friends who just recently got together and he’s having a hard time getting her to dance, so, COME ON SCRAP SHOT, get up and dance.”
Despite the growing redness on Scrap and Wallflower’s face, Scrap held a hand out to Wallflower and says.
“May I have this dance?”
Despite her reluctance, Wallflower nods shyly before taking Scrap’s hand and moving onto the dance floor with the others.
Even despite her shyness and reluctance, she laid her head on Scrap’s chest and danced like there was only Scrap in the room.
Sunset was the first to notice the two while dancing with Night Fang making her d’aww at the sight making Night Fang look at her inquisitively before asking.
“What’s got you so loved up my love?”
Sunset still looked at the two when she said.
“Reminds me of the first time I danced with you back at the Gala, you were just like Scrap is with Wallflower.”
Night Fang noticed this too before answering.
“Shy yet easing into the swing of things with the girl he loves.”
Sunset nods before they blended in with the crowd and danced away without a care in the world.
Sometime Later
Once the booze was brought out, Night Fang was straight to the built-in bar with Sunset and the others.
Scrap, however, was stood outside, nursing the gin in his hand while watching the night sky while Wallflower was still inside enjoying herself with the other girls.
Scrap sighed in content, Loki had done it again for him and this time nothing would go wrong.
‘cept for one thing.
“Scrap, how are you?”
Scrap nearly spat his gin out when Sour Sweet walked up to him, in jeans and a t-shirt, Scrap was nearly physically ill before he spoke.
“You shouldn’t be here Sour Sweet, the girls find out, you’re in for it.”
Sour Sweet pfft’d at the threat before walking over and wrapping her arms around Scrap, making him sweat nervously.
“You think Wallflower is something, she can’t even defend herself as I picked her heart apart, piece by pathetic peace and all she could do was run and cry.”
Scrap knew he couldn’t hit a woman, even if it was tempting to put Sour Sweet in her place, his weakness was his undoing as Sour Sweet continued.
“We all know you still want me, I saw your posts online.”
“THOSE, were from last year and you know it, now leave me alone.”
When Sour continued to throw herself on him a voice broke it up.
“HEY, GET YOUR CLAWS OFF MY MAN YOU HUSSY.”
Like a house on fire and rage in her eyes, Wallflower ran out and separated the two with surprising strength.
When she was about to ask Scrap if he was OK, Sour Sweet punched Wallflower square in the nose, causing her to fall to the ground in pain with Sour shouting.
“YOU STUPID BITCH!”
What Sour Sweet wasn’t expecting was Water Lily to come running out of the hall, heels and all, and take Sour Sweet down with a rugby tackle before lacing into her with punches, only to be dragged off by Scrap Shot and Loki as she shouted so many explicits at Sour Sweet.
Before her other friend, Indigo Zapp could join in and get at the restrained teen, Sunset stepped in and clocked her with a right hook to the jaw causing the two to run off like cowards as Sunset and Water Lily stood tall.
“AND GOOD RIDDANCE!”
Lily shouted at their retreating forms before turning to the downed Wallflower Blush who’s nose was bleeding heavily from the shot, luckily it was only a popped nose so nothing was broken.
She was soon helped to her feet by Water Lily who couldn’t help but hug the crying girl as she sobbed into her friend's shoulder.
Scrap just stood like a deer in the headlights, that was until Lily and Sunset walked the crying Wallflower over to Scrap.
Once she reached him, they held each other tight before Wallflower says between sobs.
“I don’t want to be alone tonight Scrap, can I sleep at yours tonight?”
Scrap looked at his girlfriend lovingly before nodding and kissing her forehead in the hug, despite the violence.
These two were going to be together for quite a while.
Crystal Prep Vs Canterlot High School Part I: Twirling The Baton Of Fate
Breaking up with a girl who did nothing but abuse you so you had to break up thanks to the intervention and she is vowing unholy vengeance on anyone who gets with her now ex-boyfriend.

Canterlot Cafe
“So let me get this straight, you are a very eligible bachelor and so many girls would go out with you in a heartbeat just to spite your ex-girlfriend Sunset Shimmer.”
This is Sunny Flare, she is sat in this very establishment speaking to the guy who will finally end his bad relationship streak.
That guy is Crystal Prep’s, Midnight Fang.
Sound familiar?
Well, this is isn’t Equestria Night Fang, he’s long since graduated and is the gym teacher at CHS.
This is the human dimensions, Night Fang.
But he prefers to be called Midnight.
At the friendship games last year, thanks to the intervention from Equestria Night Fang and his wife, along with his friends.
He managed to muster up the courage to break up with human world Sunset Shimmer and have Sour Sweet lay her out with a straight right punch after he had taken all he could and turned into an evil version of his Equestria self.
He was ‘defeated’ by a girl he had gotten to know over the course of last year.
One problem.
The girl he had the crush on, went to Canterlot High.
Let’s just say Sunny and Twilight never saw that coming.
They were expecting him to choose one of them as his new girlfriend.
He had turned them down so he could recover his mental stability before diving into a relationship.
“I understand what you mean Sunny, I really do, but for some reason, I am drawn to Baton Twirl from CHS.”
When Midnight says this, Sunny ‘aww'd’ in realisation before nodding, she remembered now.
Flashback
“Midnight? Where are you buddy, the last event’s about to start!”
Sunny was shouting, trying to get her male classmate to answer her.
Plus Sunset had sent her, and when Midnight’s girlfriend sends you, you do it.
“Come on darling, this isn’t funny anymore, I want to get this search over with so Sunset doesn’t skewer you alive.”
The sound of giggles caught Sunny Flares ear before the source just happened to be walking around the corner.
Unaware the two Crystal Prep classmates were about to collide.
THUD
Rubbing her head from the collision, Sunny got a glimpse of the classmate she was looking for before looking at the girl beside him.
This caused her face to pale.
“Midnight, why are you with Canterlot High’s drummer major when we need you over at the school entrance.”
The look on Midnight’s face said it all when he looked at his watch before looking at Baton Twirl before saying.
“I’ll give you a call sometime Twirl if Sunset hasn’t skinned me alive and fed me to her Rottweiler.”
Once he says this, Baton Twirl kisses his cheek goodbye before she and he ran off in opposite directions.
Baton towards her position with the band outside and Night Fang and Sunny Flare with their Crystal Prep teammates.
Completely unaware of what was to come.
End of Flashback
“It’s been months since me and Baton spoke since that day, I mean, I’ve only just got over Sunset after blocking her on Pony Book.”
Midnight says before the two friends drinks arrive at their table.
Later
After paying for the drinks and bites to eat, Midnight and Sunny walk the streets of Canterlot City.
It was rare for the two friends to be seen in public without any of the others hovering over them or Sunset breathing down her ex-boyfriend’s neck.
The buzz of a phone playing a drum beat broke the silence between the two before Midnight pulled his iPony 9 out of his pocket before looking at the notifications.
Sunny noticed Night’s face had lit up when she saw the text itself on her best friend’s phone.
It read:
From: Baton Twirl
‘Hey Night,
Just wondering if you are free later after our schools let out, band practice got cancelled for that day due to the teacher being ill.
I really want to see you and reconnect while on this little and our first official...date.
I’ve missed you, so much xxxxx.
P.S. Heard about your ex was marking any potential girlfriend’s for you with death, I’d say if we get together later, let’s give her a reason to be jealous.
- Baton Twirl.’
This caused Sunny to smirk at the flustered male before saying.
“Look at you stud, you’ve got a date tonight, go you.”
Midnight couldn’t believe his luck.
One problem.
And it caused Sunny to fall back comically when he says.
“What happens on dates again?”
Later That Night
The sight that was beheld by the two girls when they walked into Luna Stones house that night was one of hilarity.
What they saw was Midnight, running around like a headless chicken and panicking over small issues.
Sunny Flare had flashbacks to Rarity during the whole Dance Magic video with how much Midnight was panicking.
“How long has he been running around like this Luna?”
Twilight says to the mildly amused mother who at that point, Midnight slid by the three on his feet into the kitchen.
“Let’s just say, this has been going on since his ‘girlfriend’ phoned him this afternoon, he’s been doing nothing but move and quite frankly girls, it’s irritating.”
Luna says evenly.
As she watches her son speed by them again, she decides to speak up.
“Midnight, if you don’t slow down, you’re going to strain something and I won’t be responsible for you in the hospital with pulled or torn muscles.”
Midnight stops in his tracks just as he is about to walk upstairs before descending the stairs and walking back into the living room and sitting down in just his boxers and dress shirt.
The sight before his friends made them hold back laughter.
Midnight’s hair was a mess, his shirt had only just been ironed and now it was creased like hell with all the movement before he bolted back upstairs.
“This Baton Twirl, is she any better than Sunset Shimmer?”
Luna asks Sunny seriously before she answers the older female.
“As far as I’m aware, she means well, from what Midnight told me, he was smitten with her after she saved him.”
“She saved him?”

“Friendship games, Midnight had turned into a demon thanks to the help from unknown sources, his first target, everyone within close vicinity and his ex-girlfriend.
Flashback 2
Equestria Night Fang was in for the fight of his life, he’d just fused with his brother and Sunset was in her daydream form thanks to the help from the magic container Sci-Twi had.
“YOU ALL WILL SUFFER FOR SUNSET SHIMMERS MISDEEDS!”
Night Ki heard the male demon shout at all who would listen.
Daydream Shimmer had heard enough before going in for a strike, only for Demon Midnight to knock her away with a thrust kick to the face.
Unbeknownst to Demon Midnight, his friends were seen running over to the CHS marching band and pulling Baton Twirl to one side.
Once they were in cover and out of Demon Midnight’s eyesight, Twilight spoke.
“He didn’t hurt you did he?”
Twirl shook her head before showing the bruises and saying.
“Just a scrape, I’ll be fine, you on the other hand...”
Twilight’s face was a mess, a cut is seen along her cheek from Demon Midnight’s claws said it all, even a cut above her eye was still slightly bleeding.
With new resolve, Baton Twirl speaks.
“I have to stop him.”
The two crystal prep students stare wide-eyed at the female before she turns around and smiles at the two before saying.
“Sunset caused this, I’m going to fix it.”
With that, Baton Twirl stands up before running from cover and straight onto the battlefield.
School Front Entrance
“STOP!”
The three at war stopped dead in their tracks and Demon Midnight was furious that the girl he had a crush on, had stopped him destroying the three Equestrians and human Sunset.
Only difference was, Baton Twirl showed compassion as she stared down the demon before her.
This caused the female to shout.
“MIDNIGHT, CAN YOU HEAR ME?!”
Midnight Wolf stood unmoving in the presence of the girl before him.
Despite the weird looks she was getting, she walked towards him, bold as brass, her voice close to cracking from the sob she was holding back.
“This isn’t you Midnight, you are not a monster.”
Despite the boys behind her charging up an attack, Baton motioned for the god of fusion to stand down before she motioned for the beast before her to come to her.
Once Baton Twirl had Midnight in front of her, she placed a hand on his furred cheek before looking into his red eyes.
Before the male says his next line, Sunset shouts with all her might while struggling to stand.
“I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU UNGRATEFUL WRETCH, I MADE YOU!”
With that said, Midnight says sternly.
“NO, YOU BROKE ME AND NOW I AM DONE BEING YOUR PUPPET SHIMMER!”
This set the demon to look Sunset dead in the eyes before he and Baton walked forward while he is saying.
“IT TOOK ME THIS LONG TO REALISE YOU WERE USING ME FOR YOUR OWN GAIN, TEARING ME FROM MY FRIENDS, SPLITTING ME FROM TWILIGHT SPARKLE AND TRYING TO TURN ME AGAINST MY OWN MOTHER.”
He had Sunset reeling from his words.
Her anger rising, she had heard enough from the male before going in for the kill.
“THE ONLY WAY THIS HUSSY CAN HAVE YOU IS IF YOU ARE DEAD!”
“BATON!”
Sunset never got to the girl and Twirl never got touched by Sunset Shimmer.
Instead, Midnight stood with his hand round Sunsets throat and began to squeeze.
The looks of horror he received from everyone made him smile at the sweet relief he would gain from Sunset’s death, it would be therapeutic.
Deciding against it, Baton Twirl boldly ran at the beast and held him steady by restraining him for the guys and Equestria Sunset to set him free from his curse.
“Now I am free.”
Midnight says quietly to no one in particular as he expects to hit the ground.
But he never did.
And he had no idea that a certain drum major was holding him in her arms.
“Rest Midnight, you are truly free.”
Those were the last words Midnight heard before he heard Sunset get dropped by Sour Sweet before he blacked out in Baton’s arms.
End Flashback
“From that day on, once Midnight asked Baton to be his girlfriend a month later, I've never seen the guy so happy.”
Sunny finishes her story to a dumbstruck Luna Stone.
Upstairs With Midnight
Songs blaring on his wireless speaker while in the shower, Midnight felt like the luckiest guy in the world as he washed himself down.
Looking over his toned body, Midnight was amazed he was still alive with all the scars he had over his torso.
He had really been through hell with Sunset Shimmer.
Now that Baton Twirl was giving him a well deserved second chance at a normal relationship.
He was rightfully nervous.
‘I hope my mind can handle a normal relationship after being in a violent one for three years.’
In his head, he was right.
Could he handle normal after all that violence?
Granted, it had been four months ago after the friendship games that he had asked out Baton Twirl.
In that time, however, he had not been on one date with her due to certain bacon haired female lurking around to make sure no one got with him.
Besides that, the two had a pretty healthy relationship.
Baton Twirl made sure he took his depression pills and helped him when he broke down with his fits of rage and random depression attacks where he would break down and sob for hours until he fell asleep.
He truly loved Twirl, he really did.
Hell, he was encouraged to pursue the relationship by his Equestria counterpart Night Fang and his wife Sunset Shimmer after the two talked to him as calmly as possible.
But how could she glue together an already damaged heart?
Night’s Bedroom
RING
The sound of a door buzzer broke Midnight’s thoughts when he had just gotten dried and dressed and with a bit of aftershave on his collar and wrists before he heard female voices and footsteps enter his room.
“Midnight, Baton’s here for you.”
At Twilight’s words, the panic button had been pressed internally inside Midnight’s mind when Twilight left his room.
To Twilight, the sight of the smartly dressed Midnight made her heartache while she was walking downstairs.
DownstairsWith The Girls
“...And for the love of god, don’t keep him out too late, he has his soccer practice in the tomorrow at 3 o’clock, he’s hoping to make it to the Canterlot City Rangers Under 21’s side for their league stage in five months time.”
Luna Stone was saying to Baton Twirl who, when she arrived in a house that had a history with Crystal Prep, including Sunny, Twilight and Midnight’s mom.
She felt pretty awkward being the only CHS student there.
She got over her awkwardness when Midnight came downstairs and stood in the doorway of the living room before clearing his throat to get the ladies attention.
It worked.
The sight that awaited Baton Twirl was one of breathlessness.
Ever since Midnight met his Pony World counterpart, he had decided to mould his image after him, Midnight even cut his long hair before he had jumped in the shower.
His light black hair was now swept to the side and gelled along with a fresh shave of his face.
He even wore contacts instead of glasses.
His ensemble for the night included a blue button up shirt, with two buttons undone, button-up jeans and Nike Mare Sneakers on his feet.
Baton couldn’t believe the sight before her, then again, neither could Midnight when he got a good look at his date.
When he got a look at Baton in her Rarity brand red cocktail dress and low white heels, he soon felt gentle heat rise to his cheeks and nearly light up the room.
Her hair was down and curled lightly at the tips and she wore no makeup because she remembered that Midnight didn’t care how she looked.
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
The exchange of words and the stare off continued until Sunny Flare coughed to break the two out of their trances before saying.
“Now Midnight, just remember what we practised with Other World Sunset Shimmer and her husband and you should do just fine.”
Midnight couldn’t help but chuckle at the memory of Sunset mistaking him for her husband.
At least he got a kiss on the cheek from the nice Sunset when she accidentally mistook him for Night Fang.
When Baton takes Midnight’s hand, the male seizes up before settling down when Baton reassures him everything is OK before the two head out.
Midnight’s car
Driving in the three-door Ford Mustang ‘87 down to where their date would take place in the main city, Midnight and Baton were sat in silence while Midnight was driving.
Man, he hated not being able to speak to the beauty beside him, he was so used to the woman speaking first that he forgot that he was dating someone else.
Deciding to break the silence, Baton took a hold of the docking station and put some tunes on for them to listen to on their drive.
Scrolling through her Pony Galaxy 8 with her songs on Spotify, she found the song she wanted to share with Midnight before letting it play.
Midnight couldn’t help but cringe when the song hit its opening.
When Midnight recognised the song, he couldn’t help but chuckle before saying.
“Loki’s funeral song, man, he really wanted everyone to laugh on that day he was buried.”
Baton smiled sadly as Midnight cried while smiling at the memories of his baby brother while the song played over the stereo.
Once it ended, Midnight spoke for the first time without it feeling forced.
“I just want tonight to go smoothly so we can get on with our lives together.”
Baton nods at Midnight’s words before gently squeezing his hand and giving his cheek a kiss.
Outside The Restaurant
With the car parked up in a parking space and at the place with twenty minutes to spare.
The two decide to do last minute checks on each other before Midnight got out of the car and jogged round to the passenger side door and opening the door for his girlfriend.
With his hand held out, Baton takes it graciously before standing at the side of the male before they interlock fingers and walk into the establishment.
Inside The Building
“So, tell me a little about you Midnight, I want to know what makes my handsome boyfriend tick when he isn’t with me or with his friends at school.”
Baton Twirl asks genuinely to the shell shocked male.
Being situated at a two-seater next to the window of the establishment, the couple had just ordered their meals before Baton had decided to ask Midnight about himself.
Let’s just say, he wasn’t used to any of his girlfriends being nice to him.
“OK, well, to begin with, my hobbies include soccer, video games and athletics, mainly 1800 metre sprints around the track.
My favourite music I listen to on the low is musicals, metal and movie soundtracks.
I mainly watch cartoons because I hate real world stuff and soap operas, I do not watch the news either.”
Baton nodded on intently before Midnight continued once the food came.
“My favourite video game is Samurai Hound: Chinatown Takedown, my least favourite is Squirrel: Live and in Uncensored Colour, I mean, it’s a mature rated game but it’s as watered down as a beer in old china city up north of here.”
Once the conversation halted, the two began to eat.
Highlights include, Midnight being fed some of Baton’s Pasta Linguine before he shared some of his fries with her.
Baton accidentally spilling her drink on the waiter that was bringing over their White Chardonnay before Midnight helped clean up the spill.
Midnight finding it funny to smear ketchup on his girlfriend’s nose before he had his head dunked in the ice bucket which held the Chardonnay in retaliation.
Overall, for the couple, it was a good start to their night.
Theatre
Next stop for the couple was the movies.
When the two stepped out of the car and approached the entrance, one of the security guards who was friends with Equestria Loki from the local arcade let the two enter the theatre first, which shocked Baton.
“How does he know you?”
Baton Twirl asks making Midnight chuckle and say.
“When your friends with another world Loki, you get certain...perks, thank god this was one of them.”
When they purchased their food and drink from the concessions and due to Midnight knowing Loki was good friends with said security, he and Baton got a hold of V.I.P. tickets to an advanced showing of Samurai Hound: Unforgiven which should have been sold out as of last week.
As they headed to the box which was reserved for the two lovers, their focus turned to the screen which showed what they were watching.
Baton couldn't help but smirk at her boyfriend.
"Samurai Hound: Unforgiven?"
Baton asked with a raised eyebrow to which Midnight smiled as he munched on some popcorn his bag.
"You're dating a comic book nerd babe."
Midnight says with a smile to his girlfriend who could only smile back at how adorable he was being.
Midnight was in his comfort zone and Baton Twirl was glad her boyfriend was now opening up more to her and getting into his comfort zones.
As they enjoyed the movie, Twirl caught Midnight off guard by laying her head on his right shoulder while giggling at his remarks towards the flaws of the movie from the soundproof room.
They could hear the movie and the moviegoers, but they couldn't hear them as the movie played out.
She would occasionally join him at throwing popcorn at moviegoers much to the annoyance of the audience.
Outside the Theatre
After the movie and while they were on their way back to the car, Midnight still had more questions than answers about the movie while Baton was finishing the drink that she still had in her hand.
"The plot just made no sense, her love interest was the head of the yakuza but instead of killing him, she lets him live!"
After what Midnight called a disaster of a movie, Baton Twirl actually liked the movie.
Despite only reading one comic and this being her first time watching anything related to the Samurai Hound Franchise.
Later
Despite a well-deserved trip to the arcade where Baton Twirl owned everyone at Dance Dance Revolution Mega-Mix and Midnight was busy getting high scores on the Mansion Of The Dead 2: Code Red.
Even helping Baton clear the final boss on Co-Op Mode.
“Well done babe, you are pretty good at this game.”
Midnight says praising Baton as she hugs him tightly before the two pull apart with blushes on their faces.
Later
Walking through the mall was just pure bliss for the couple.
Baton Twirl herself had a good time but she was more focused on the guy beside her.
The guy, who she had never seen so happy from the months they’d known each other, was smiling broadly while confidently holding the girl's hand as if to show her off to anyone who came near him.
His shot of confidence, however, was soon to end when he spotted his ex-girlfriend making a beeline for them.
Luckily, help was around.
“Hello Baton Twirl, enjoy taking other peoples property!?”
Sunset says angrily before swinging a fist at the girl.
Her fist did not connect as someone had placed their hand in the way of Baton’s face.
“What the...”
The look of horror overtook Sunset the minute her counterpart appeared before her with Human Shimmer’s fist in the palm of her hand.
“Mrs Shimmer, what a pleasant surprise.”
Baton acknowledged her music teacher who smiles politely at her student before turning serious at the offender and saying.
“You weren’t about to ruin this impressionable couples date were you Miss Shimmer?”
Her tone, Human Sunset recognised as a veiled threat for her to try something or say something stupid to the adult faculty member from the rival school.
“Because it seems you were about to assault one of my students while I was watching from the shop right over there.”
Mrs Shimmer, being in her casual clothes and not wearing her reading glasses, was an intimidating sight to behold.
Especially since she was now staring down the Crystal Prep student after letting go of her fist and letting her glare in anger.
“You can’t protect them forever Mrs Shimmer, THAT I promise.”
With that, the teenage girl walked away with her message heard loud and clear before the older Shimmer sighed and rubbed her stomach from the aggravation she felt.
Seeing this, Midnight and Baton helped Sunset sit down.
Silently nodding in knowing what exactly was wrong with Sunset, Midnight handed Sunset a drink before her husband arrived to see to her.
Later That Night
Once the date was done and Midnight and Baton were ready to go home, they hopped into the car and Midnight drove into the night.
Back at Midnight’s Home
The minute the couple walked through the door, a light went on in the living room revealing two smirking friends awaiting their arrival.
The looks on Midnight and Baton’s face said it all.
Once the two left, well Twilight straight away, Sunny gave Midnight the thumbs up and a smile before leaving.
Once Midnight was sure his friends had gone, he and Baton Twirl made eye contact before locking each other in a tight lip lock before the two tumbled on the couch with Midnight turning the light off from the wall.
Crystal Prep Vs CHS: Part II: One Fiery Step Into Her Heart
“Good hustle today guys, keep this up for the start of the season and our opponents won’t know what hit them in the School World Cup.”
Coach Night Fang’s voice rang out across the field towards everyone on the field.
They were training for the upcoming School’s World Cup next year and boy, could this team Night Fang has, compete with the best of them.
Since winning qualification by winning the School Regional Cup thanks to Loki, Scrap and Coal, this team had a new confidence and were ready to take on all challengers.
One such guy was CHS’ number 4, Fire Step.
This guy had been in the team that won the cup in the regular season and was lucky to have even started in that game after one of their number one choice defender was stretchered off in the Regional League final.
Fire Step showed his mettle and helped the team defeat Crystal Prep with his no-nonsense defending.
It helped he was also the youngest member of the Canterlot Rangers SC.
At the age of 18, he only started five games for them in the regular season as they just missed out on a play-off place.
He loved soccer but after today, something else was about to take his heart.
Locker Room
“We keep this up guys, we might be able to win the whole competition instead of going out bottom of the group like all the other times.”
Fire Step overheard Spring Clean saying what he thought before chuckling to himself.
Despite being Loki’s first choice to succeed him as captain, Fire Step was one to never show his emotions.
Yeah, he let out the odd laugh or two, but when your nickname is ‘Fire Starter.’
You knew people wouldn’t mess with you on or off the field.
And that’s what annoyed him.
Yes, he had friends, but some of them were friends with him because he either scared them or they were too afraid to speak to him.
His ex even split up with him because she called him a ‘homicidal maniac’ after he set her car alight with her and the guy she was cheating on him within the back seat.
He’d refused to date ever since.
That is until one day, the new transfer that he was teammates with, Midnight Fang, who played central defensive midfield on the Wondercolts team, decided that he would help Fire Step.
Sugar Cube Corner
“So let me get this straight, you want to help Rambo here, get a girlfriend and hopefully he doesn’t try to kill her this time.”
Wallflower says nervously.
As she and Scrap look at Fire Step who is seen sipping his drink while watching the three converse without a care in the world.
The chill Scrap got from the thousand-yard stare Step was throwing out made him shudder before looking at Midnight Fang like he had a second head.
“That’s like putting gasoline on a fire to put it out, he’s crazy, no girl in CHS is brave enough to date him.”
This gave Midnight his mad scientist moment before whipping out his phone and texting his girlfriend the following.
‘Hey baby, it’s Midnight, you got five minutes to help out?’
The minute he was about to put the phone down, it vibrated before the following message made him smile.
‘Just finished band practice honey, what do you need?’
Scrap and Wallflower could have sworn their friend was insane.
When he smiled widely at Fire Step, who could do nothing but raise his eyebrow at the creepily smiling friend of his.
Something went through his mind, and that was.
‘What the f*ck are you planning on doing Midnight?’
Later at Midnight’s House
“Thanks for coming guys and love of my life.”
Midnight says this as he kisses Baton on the lips before speaking again.
“Today, with your help, of course, I am going to attempt the impossible, I am going to find Fire Step a girlfriend before the friendly game against cross-town rivals Everfree Timber Wolves this Saturday.”
The looks he received were ones of disbelief and horror.
This caused Midnight to say quickly.
“Don’t worry, I have some candidates that will match Fire Step’s personality.”
At this, Baton spoke up.
“No offence babe but, this is FIRE STEP we are talking about, he doesn’t date anymore remember, plus with the names you threw out, I think the Crystal Prep girls wouldn’t dare go near him.”
With that, Midnight and the girls brainstormed into the early hours of the morning.
Next Morning With Fire Step
The minute Fire Step woke up that morning to a text from Midnight, he knew something was up.
“Midnight, just give it up pal, I’m not in the dating game anymore.”
Fire Step mumbles tiredly before getting up and going to the bathroom for a shower before getting dressed into his clothes for the day.
CHS
Walking into the school that day, he walked into mutterings of ‘who would date that psycho’ and ‘Midnight is in over his head again.’
This caused Fire Step to growl in irritation at the mutterings before he walked to his locker and opened the door after putting in the combination.
“It’s just gonna be one of those days I guess.”
Fire Step mumbles to himself while taking his books from his locker.
Only to find Midnight stood behind the locker door with a piece of paper in his hands, startling Fire Step before he says.
“DAMN IT MIDNIGHT!”
The sudden shout earned the crimson red-haired teen a look from some of the student body before they went on their way.
Leaving the two males stood at the locker.
“Just hear me out Step, I called some girls from my old school and despite some of them saying hell no to meeting you since you’ve played against some of them while with the Rangers against the Crystal Knights or the Wondercolts against the Shadowbolts, one of them actually agreed to meet you and give you a chance.”
This caused Fire Step to raise an eyebrow at the optimistic freshman before asking.
“And pray tell, Midnight, who in the blue hell, did you get to agree to your crazy plan?”
This caused Midnight to smile before he showed Fire Step a picture of the girl he would be meeting at Canterlot Mall after school.
The minute Fire Step got a look at the green and yellow hair, his eyes widened.
“You’re kidding?”
Midnight shook his head before Fire Step continues saying.
“Does she know who I am or what I did to my past girlfriend?!”
Midnight nods before saying.
“Don’t worry, this girl is as laid back as the low tides of the sea, she loves meeting new people when she isn’t rocking out to the music from her headphones.”
Fire Step couldn’t help but facepalm at the stupidity of this girl.
But inside.
He couldn’t help but be curious why this one girl saw something in him.
So with a reluctant sigh, he says.
“OK, despite the fact she is from Crystal Prep Academy, I’ll give it a shot.”
Midnight couldn’t help but internally yell in excitement, that was until Fire Step says.
“This goes wrong, you owe me 80 laps around the soccer field.”
Midnight nods before the two start their days.
After School With Midnight, Baton and Fire Step
“This is still a stupid idea, we should be practising for the game on Saturday.”
That’s all Fire Step talked about when they arrived at the Canterlot Mall that Thursday afternoon when school let out.
Personally, it was making Baton Twirl roll her eyes and making her sigh every five minutes in irritation.
His outfit that day consisted of a red and black flannel button-up shirt with a ‘Death From The Sky’ T-shirt. He also decided on wearing his ripped on the knee jeans with converse sneakers.
He just went with his everyday look that didn’t involve sportswear.
He was tempted to just go to the arcade and go on one of the many machines.
He never expected to be waiting nearly two hours for this ‘date’ to arrive.
Despite his impatience, he heard the girl’s voice.
“Midnight, what’s happening my dude.”
The minute he realised his ‘date’ was Lemon Zest, he had choked on his cola, resulting in his back being patted hard by Midnight before he witnessed the two friends hug.
“Nothing much Zest, just showing Moody McGee here that some girls are interested in him.”
Midnight points to Fire Step when he says this before Lemon Zest pulls her headphones down from around her neck before introducing herself to Fire Step.
“Wassup dude, I’m Lemon Zest, you must be Fire Step, the ‘Canterlot Psycho’.”
Despite the hesitation from being called that, Step noticed Lemon was smirking when she says this.
With that one action, Fire mustered up an uneasy smile before shaking the girl’s hand.
“Yep, my name is indeed Fire Step, the ‘Psycho’ part is sadly true too.”
Lemon nods at Fire’s words before grinning and leaning towards Midnight and Baton with a smile and a whispered.
“I like this guy already.”
That caused the couple to sigh in relief before Lemon looked back at Fire Step and says.
“So, Mr McGee, what do you want to do first?”
Fire Step couldn’t help but chuckle at the girl before she clung to his arm, nearly sending him over with how surprisingly strong she was as she dragged him along.
Leaving Midnight and Baton to stand dumbstruck with an anime sweatdrop rolling from their foreheads before deciding to head to the cinema.
With Fire Step and Lemon Zest
Even though it was just a meet up to test their compatibility, Fire Step found himself enjoying the mellow girl's company.
Sure she had some different and some same tastes in music, but that’s what made Lemon stand out to Fire Step.
She wasn’t clingy but at the same time, she knew when to invade his personal space, except for the time she pressed her breasts into his face when she tried to reach a high shelf in the comic book store.
That brought a rare blush to the guys face.
Despite Lemon’s eccentric behaviour, Fire Step kept it classy.
Fast Food Establishment
Once the two were sat in a little food area that was tucked into the corner of the mall, they had been doing a little bit of shopping before they had got there.
Lemon Zest had a stack of comics while Fire Step kept checking if his brass knuckles were in his jeans pocket that he bought from the local guns and weapons store.
While they were eating, however, Lemon decided to speak up.
“So, tell me something Step, how did you get the psycho nickname? Whatcha do? Beat up a lot of people for the mafia, like a debt collector or something?”
Fire Step, despite his hesitation to answer, couldn’t help but laugh lightly before turning serious at the snap of his fingers before leaning in.
“No one but Midnight and Baton knows this story, if I do decide to date you in the future, you must promise to not leak this information to anyone, do you understand?”
Lemon nods as she leans in eagerly making Fire Step shake his head with a sad smile before beginning.
“It all started when I was new at CHS, two years ago...”
Flashback
We cut to a young Fire Step, aged 16, walking around CHS with a girl with long flowing grey and yellow streaked hair, this was his girlfriend, Road Block.
Though she was 4’8, she was a fighter, she even put Fire Step in his place when he used his 5’11 frame to torment her.
They were an odd couple, to say the least.
Fire Step’s silent but sweet demeanour and Road Block’s feisty attitude, they were the perfect example of opposites attract and in the best way possible.
They had gotten together after Fire Step saved Road Blocks special needs baby brother, who was in Junior High, Brick Wall from some bullies who had tried setting him on fire for being different.
Let’s just say, the bullies soon moved away from Canterlot to get away from Fire Step.
Life was good until that faithful day…
Flashback Paused due to Lemon Zest Speaking
“Hold Up! Brick Wall, as in my classmate Brick Wall, with the brain defect? You saved him!?”
Fire Step nods making Lemon look in astonishment before asking.
“So why does Brick Wall want to kill you every time you guys meet on the field?”
Fire Step sighs before he continues the story.
Flashback Resume
Fire Step was waiting on Brick Wall from Crystal Prep because Road Block had called to say she was running late and her car had broken down and was at the garage for repairs.
So once he dropped the kid off at his and his sisters home, he decided to do some investigating.
Grease Monkey’s Garage
Walking up to the garage, Fire Step noticed that right there where she said it would be, was Road Block’s grey SUV, but where was Grease Monkey that worked here?
“Grease, you here?”
Fire Step says into the garage before noticing the SUV shaking.
This caused Fire Step to whisper suspiciously.
“Who’s in there?”
With enough instinct, Fire picks up the nearest wrench before deciding to smash the SUV’s passenger window.
What he saw made his blood run cold.
There, in their birthday suits and clutching each other as the male gyrated into the girl, unaware Fire Step was stood there, was Fire Step’s girlfriend and someone called Blazing Skies from Cloudsdale Academy.
“WHAT THE F*CK!”
The minute Fire Step shouts this, the female gets off the male who had no chance to respond before Fire dragged the male by the scruff of his neck and dragged his naked form out of the car before proceeding to break both of the guy's legs with the wrench.
“WHAT THE HELL, FIRE STEP, STOP IT YOU HOMICIDAL MANIAC!”
That was the day, Fire Step turned pure evil.
When he took one look at the naked girl, he hit her on the top of her head with the blunt object before tying her disoriented body to the back seat with the seat belt before focusing on Blazing Skies.
At this point, Fire couldn’t tell if the guy was begging for mercy before he grabbed the power saw from the rack and proceeded to cut off his manhood and his sack, leaving him screaming blue murder before he smashed Blazing Skies head in with a sledgehammer.
Effectively killing him.
With that done, Fire Step grabs the body and throws it in the back seat with his concussed ex before slamming the door shut.
After drilling some metal onto the hole where the smashed window was, Fire Step grabbed some gas from the back and proceeded to douse the car in gasoline.
With one look at the lighter in his hand, Fire Step sighs.
He needed to get rid of his involvement if he was going to go through with this.
Later
Once his fingerprints had been washed off the tools he’d used, he walked over to the car and with one look at a coming round Road Block.
He threw the lit lighter at the car and watched it catch fire before walking away once it exploded with Road Block screaming into the night.
End of Flashback
“After that, even though she miraculously survived the blast and has prosthetic limbs in place of her two arms and her left leg, Road Block avoids me because I trigger her back to the day I attempted to murder her for cheating on me.
Brick Wall, however, hated me after that and every time I played against him, he is out for blood on that field for what I did to his big sister.”
Fire Step looks at Lemon Zest looking at him stunned before he says.
“That’s why you shouldn’t date me Lemon, I don’t deserve happiness and this is my curse for killing Blazing Skies and attempting to kill Road Block.”
With that, Fire Step stood up from the table and walked out of the restaurant, leaving Lemon Zest sat in stunned silence.
Main Court
The minute Fire Step stormed past Midnight and Baton Twirl, the two knew something was up with their friend.
Midnight was the first to speak.
“What happened? Where’s Lemon Zest?”
All Midnight received was a cold glare, leaving the male frozen to the spot before Fire Step continued out of the mall.
Fire Step’s Home
The minute Fire Step crashed out on his bed back first, his eyes started to water up before screaming in anger at his stupidity.
“WHY DID I TELL HER THAT F*CKING STORY, KNOW SHE’LL NEVER SPEAK TO ME AGAIN, MAN I AM SO F*CKING STUPID!”
Once his screams turned into whimpers, he just laid on his bed and let the tears fall as he choked out a whisper.
“Why am I the cursed one?”
The moment he stopped feeling sorry for himself was when his phone buzzed to life when ‘Let It Whip’ by SR-71 began playing to announce he had a phone call.
Who greeted him, well.
“Hello?”
“Oh thank Christ, dude what happened back at the mall? You stalked off and left me high and dry!”
Fire Step sighed before answering the annoyed girl at the end of the line.
“Sorry about that Lemon, I thought with me telling you why I get called the Canterlot Psycho, that you’d never speak to me again and leave me to wallow in my self-pity.
He heard laughter down the phone before the voice spoke.
“For real, wow, you boys are dense, I wasn’t scared of you, you dummy, I was...kinda getting the hots for you.”
This time, Fire Step was the one to do a double-take, Lemon felt all hot and bothered around him.
Even he was impressed, eventually, she continued.
“Look, I did some digging, you weren’t the first guy Road Block cheated on, she had eighteen other boys wrapped around her finger and was responsible for those eighteen boys’ suicides.
She even told Sunset Shimmer you were victim number nineteen and explained she had planned to do the dirty on you when you went to pick up her brother from school.
she didn’t know who she was messing with.”
This surprised even Fire Step, he had saved other boys from being Road Block’s planned victims.
Once they continued talking, Lemon brought up why she thought Fire Step was so cool and what she liked about him before saying.
“This Saturday, can you get me a ticket into your friendly game against Everfree, I want to watch you play and wipe the floor with the Timbers.”
This caused Fire Step to smirk before saying.
“Why do you want to watch me play? I’m nothing special.”
The next sentence caught Fire Step off guard as his face turned crimson when Lemon Zest says over her end of the phone.
“Well a girlfriend has to come and watch her boyfriend kick some ass on the soccer field, I mean, I am your girlfriend right?”
It was an unconventional way of asking him out but it made Fire Step smirk at Lemon’s straightforwardness.
“Dude, you there? Fire Step, you there?”
Fire Step shook himself out of his trance before answering the girl on the other end.
“Yeah still here Zest, of course, you’re my girlfriend and I’ll see what I can do.”
With that, the two continued to talk into the night before the two hung up.
On this night, Fire Step slept with a wide smile on his face, he felt like the happiest man alive at that moment.
Game Day, Saturday
The sound of guys and girls changing rang around the changing room of the Canterlot Wondercolts.
Chatter filled the air and laughs were going back and forth.
For Fire Step, this was just another day at the office for him.
Placing on his shin pads and pulling up his blue and yellow socks, Midnight noticed his friend was a lot happier today compared to Thursday.
Step even had a picture of Lemon Zest in just her swimsuit bottoms and holding her arm over her exposed breasts while she had a huge smile plastered on her face on the photo on the inside of his locker door which she had sent him from her swimming class changing rooms when she went with her school yesterday.
Pulling on his compression vest before his number 4 shirt, Fire Step took one look at the girl on the locker door before smiling and whispering.
“Hope you’re in the stands Zest, I’m going to destroy me some Everfree Timber.”
Once he was changed, Coach Night Fang walked into the changing rooms with Soarin beside him before shouting.
“OK BOYS AND GIRLS GATHER ROUND!”
Once Night Fang was sure all his team was here, he looked around before saying to all of them.
“Today, we play the Everfree Timbers in a pre-season friendly going into the School’s World Cup next year.
I’m running a 4-3-3 formation, Scootaloo, Crystal Shield, you two will be flanking Light Speed up top as his wingers, you are the attacking three.”
Scootaloo and Crystal high fived before Night Fang spoke to his midfielders.
“Sunny Rays, you will be partnering Midnight and Coal Dust in midfield, Sunny you will be playing central midfield with Coal while Midnight, you will sit in the middle behind Coal and Sunny in a central defensive midfield position, you boys are the middle three.”
Midnight, Sunny and Coal nod before Night Fang turns to his defenders.
“For my back four players, Iron Gate and Blackheart, you boys will sit on the left and right defenders positions, Blackheart, you play on the right since you’re left-footed.”
With that, Night Fang walks over to Fire Step with the armband and says in his defender's ear.
“Show us why my brother picked you to succeed him Fire Step.”
Fire Step nods before it is revealed he is teaming up with Spring Clean in the two other centre back spots.
Night placed Emerald in the net for the game.
Once Night Fang left the changing room, Fire Step stood wide-eyed at what he was holding.
In his hand was the blue and yellow coloured armband, emblazoned with the Canterlot Wondercolts horseshoe with captain written on both sides.
Once he got over the shock and looked at his team, he gulped nervously before placing on the armband and leading his team out of the locker room and towards the away teams entrance tunnel.
Tunnel
Fire Step could hear his heart beating rapidly through his body at how nervous he was.
This was to be the first game he ever captained the Canterlot Wondercolts, he could feel the pressure getting to him until he felt a hand land on his shoulder, making him jump out of his skin.
“Hey relax Step, you’ll do great, I know you will!”
Midnight says in reassurance, making Fire Step turn round with confidence and say.
“Let’s show these Timbers what a Wondercolt can do!”
The team cheered before hearing the announcer announcing the home team first as they entered to ‘Big Bad Wolf’ by Duck Sauce, much to rapturous applause from the home fans.
There was a reason the Everfree Timbers were the most feared team in the Regional School’s competition.
It was the home support that turned the ground into a fortress and made everyone who played there intimidated.
The only two teams to defeat them all last season was The Shadowbolts and The Wondercolts.
Something the home team was looking to rectify in this friendly match.
Back With The Wondercolts
“Hope we get some sort of entrance like they did!”
Coal says to no one in particular, but Fire Step heard him and sighed.
“And now, ladies and gentlemen, all the way from Canterlot High, The Canterlot High Wondercolts!”
The sound system playing ‘The Touch’ by Stan Bush, Fire Step walked his team out of the tunnel to a venomous stadium of boos from the home fans.
The away fans were just as equally loud, especially Lemon Zest who was sat with Baton Twirl and Wallflower Blush.
“KILL FIRE KILL!”
The CHS fans started chanting making Fire Step sigh as he shook hands with the Timbers goalkeeper before getting into position and letting Scootaloo stand in the centre with Light Speed.
Stretching off, Fire looked at the crowd of blue and found who he was looking for, making him smirk.
Once the two teams were ready, the game began.
1st Minute
No sooner had the referee blew the whistle, the first goal of the game happened.
With enough free-flowing passing, Crystal Shield managed to use his strength to barge through two of the five defenders on the Everfree team and drive across in for Scootaloo to hit a breathtaking bicycle kick from outside the box and into the right-hand corner of the goal.
This sent the CHS crowd into ballistics as Scootaloo celebrated with her team.
Everfree Timbers: 0 – 1: Canterlot Wondercolts
15th Minute
Despite getting passed four people on the Wondercolts team, the Timbers no.8, Green Thumb, wasn’t prepared to be wiped out by Fire Step with a fair but crunching challenge which made the CHS crowd go ballistic with a passion at Fire Step’s pinpoint defending.
It continued when Fire Step volleyed away a corner which had been conceded by Emerald after saving the first shot from the Timbers No.11, Ocean Breeze.
28th Minute
The idea of it being a friendly soon went out of the window when the Timbers no. 3, Autumn Leaf, went crashing into Light Speed and sent him barreling into the stands behind the goal and breaking his arm, earning her team a goal kick.
They nearly received a free-kick when Fire Step got involved and swung for the defender, only to be pulled back by Crystal Shield.
To his girlfriend in the stands, Lemon Zest knew this was going to get ugly, REALLY fast.
39th Minute
Sometimes she wishes she was wrong.
If you’re leading one to nothing in the first half, you’re first instinct is to defend the lead till half time.
That logic didn’t apply to Fire Step.
His logic involved snapping the leg of the Timbers star striker in retaliation for the earlier tackle on Light Speed.
This caused Lemon to facepalm at her boyfriend's stupidity as he received a yellow card before a huge melee broke out between the players.
Despite wanting to join in the fight, Lemon restrained herself and just shouted for Fire Step to rip their heads off.
Once the referee got control of the game again and the Timbers made a substitution to replace their injured striker, the free-kick was ready to be taken by Autumn Leaf.
Once she struck the ball, Emerald managed to save it and tip it over the bar for a corner, making the CHS crowd sigh in relief while some held their chests to still their beating hearts at the scare.
40th Minute
Everfree’s number 7, Sea Shores stepped up to take the corner.
When the whistle blew, he whipped the ball into the box and once again, Emerald used his height to catch the ball in his hands.
Much to the appreciation of the away supporters.
45th+1 Minute Stoppage Time
The wall of blue had finally been scaled as Everfree’s number 18, Song Bird, skipped past Fire Step with a roulette and mid-spin, nutmegging Spring Clean before chipping the ball into the left hand corner after doing a no-look shot, sending the home support into raptures of applause and shouts while the female celebrated by flapping her arms like a bird and strutting in celebration.

HALF TIME
Locker Room
“OK, not a bad performance out there you guys, really proud you held out till half time and only conceding once.”
The team nods in appreciation at their coaches words before Night Fang turned to the captain who had his head held low.
“Fire Step, you played well out there, there is nothing to be ashamed of, just control your temper and you’ll make it through this game.”
Fire Step nods at his coaches words before Night Fang spoke again.
“With Light Speed out of the game, I am running a 4-4-2 diamond formation, meaning now, Sunny Rays will move in behind Scootaloo and Crystal Shield in central attacking midfield while Midnight stays in central defensive midfield, Coal you will stay put in left central midfield while I am putting Scrap Shot in right central midfield to partner you three.”
The guys and girl nods before the announcement says.
‘Will both teams start making their way to the tunnel, ready for the second half.’
With that announcement, Fire Step leads his team back out to the tunnel before eventually leading them out onto the field and ready before the ref blows her whistle to restart the game.
47th Minute
It took some time for the Wondercolts to adjust to their new formation upfront and in the middle.
Because Song Bird was dancing round them and was in on the defenders.
She beat Spring Clean, but wasn’t prepared to be wiped out in both her legs by Blackheart and Fire Step, allowing Emerald to volley the ball upfield towards Midnight, who with enough where with all, spun past River Stream and did a backheel volley after flicking it over Red Herring and just hitting the crossbar.
“Unlucky Midnight, keep going.”
Night Fang shouts at his human counterpart who nods to his coach before continuing.
56th Minute
Everfree were in again to score, only this time, Emerald wiped out Song Bird, much to the home crowds anger.
They grew even angrier when Emerald was allowed to play on even though he never touched the ball in the dive.
60th Minute
Scootaloo was probably a goal-scoring goddess at this point to the Wondercolts crowd.
With another free-flowing move, Fire Step levered the ball downfield before it fell to Coal, who got past five players before chipping it over the last defender to the waiting head of Scootaloo, who buried it under the keeper's legs and into the centre of the net.
The Wondercolts had the lead back…
Everfree Timbers: 1-2: Canterlot Wondercolts
64th Minute
No sooner had they got the lead, they almost lost it when Spring Clean completely missed the tackle on Song Bird who broke away and chipped it over Emerald before the female shot a sweet shot which was destined for the net.
She had beaten Emerald but not Fire Step.
With enough jump, Fire Step launched himself into the ball with a diving header and headed it onto the crossbar and back out into play.
This caused the Everfree team to groan at their bad luck.
72nd Minute
Lemon Zest was seeing red.
She was fuming when one of the Timbers players on the field had wiped out Fire Step with a high kick to his face just outside the box.
Oh boy was she screaming explicit after explicit at the Everfree player that had done the tackle.
She had to be calmed by the people beside her before she risked being sent out of the stands.
82nd Minute
Despite the ten-minute pause in the game, Canterlot was ready to take the free-kick.
Scrap Shot stepped up and put it away comfortably by slotting it into the left-hand corner of the net.
Once the goal had been scored, Fire Step, bandaged head and blood dripping off him, walked back onto the field.
The looks of horror he received from his laughing face covered in blood made Lemon Zest smile before whispering.
“Will the real Canterlot Psycho please stand up.”
Everfree Timbers: 1-3: Canterlot Wondercolts
90th Minute plus 2 minutes Injury Time
Last play of the game involved the Wondercolts playing the slow down game to try and waste a little bit of time.
Only for the plan to backfire when Coal accidentally gave the ball away to Autumn Leaf.
Once she gets past a few players, she lays it off to Song Bird, who with literally the last kick of the game, hits a rocket shot from the halfway line.
Only for it to get caught in the gloves of Emerald who decides to just casually throw the ball out of play for the final whistle to blow.
FULL TIME
Final Score: Everfree Timbers: 1-3: Canterlot Wondercolts
Later That Night
Despite having a successful first game as captain, Fire Step exited the locker room that evening by himself and into his casual clothes after taking a shower in the locker rooms after the game.
Once he was outside, he let the cool air hit his face making him sigh in happiness.
His thoughts were interrupted when he got an alert on his phone.
When he looks at the screen, he can’t help but smile at the message.
‘Great game dude! You tore it up out there with your teammates.
Sorry I couldn’t stay longer, my friends from CPA wanted me to meet them for something before the end of the game, otherwise I would have met you at the end.
Thanks for showing me a great time over these past two days, you are nothing like what you had been described, my dude.
One day, I’ll get the chance to spend some quality time with you outside of school and get this relationship off the ground.

Fire Step laughed to himself and shook his head with the smile never leaving his face once.
With one click onto his messages, he typed back.
‘Don’t worry Zest, I’ll have all the time in the world for you when you are not busy.
Maybe we can hit up a dinner someday or a concert of your choice, I’m not fussy.
Till then, you’ll just be the girlfriend no one has seen yet, well except some people, but you know what I meant babe.

Once he sent the message to Lemon, he put his phone back in his pocket and proceeded to head off home.
Standing in the school for the first time in years, Night Fang had a slight unease to him as he was stood outside the principal's office.
The reason he was there in the first place was that his uncle was in the room speaking to human world Celestia about restarting his nephew’s enrolment back into the school system.
Since being forced to flee his home dimension after nearly beating the tar out of his godmother followed by Discord dragging Night Fang and Loki through the mirror.
Night Fang’s head was all over the place.
He hadn’t had a decent nights sleep due to the nightmares that plagued him which ranged from his best friend being killed right in front of him by Princess Celestia which led to said beat down.
Then the kicker to his nightmares.
Having to block off the portal so no one could follow them and looking at the heartbroken stare of his now ex-girlfriend.
Man, he had some seriously shitty luck.
His thoughts are sidetracked when the door to the principal's office opened and out stepped Principal Celestia and Discord.
Once their slight conversation finished and the principal went back into her office, Discord looked at his nephew with a sigh.
Night Fang looked at his father figure expectedly before the older male spoke.
“She’ll take you on a probation period before fully accepting you back Night.”
Night Fang couldn’t help but slump in his seat with an irritated sigh.
Discord knew his teenage nephew's dilemma but all he could do was sit next to the seventeen-year-old and lightly rub his back.
Night Fang looked at his uncle before deciding to speak.
“Uncle Dizzy, do you think a monster like me can fit in here?”
For the first time in a long while, Discord couldn’t help but wince at the’ word before thinking carefully on his answer.
He didn’t need to speak as he and Night Fang caught sight of the one girl, no, THE girl, he’d never thought he’d see again.
It was only in passing but the two shared a glare between each other before she passed by as quick as she had walked near him.
Night Fang let a small smirk escape his lips at what he was seeing.
This would be an interesting time back at the school.
Later
Once he had received his schedule and his card for the cafeteria, he made his way to Miss Cheerilee’s class in the east corridor.
When he arrives with the principal, Night Fang couldn’t help but gulp back the lump in his throat because the next thing he knew, the human version of his godmother is seen knocking on Cheerilee’s classroom door.
Inside The Classroom
The minute Night Fang walked into the room, the chatter began between the students the minute they saw the teen stand in front of the teacher's desk.
Once he was stood at the wooden desk, Celestia spoke.
“Students, could I please have your attention for just a minute.”
The minute all eyes were on him, Night Fang stood stoic and uncaring while the principal announced him to the class.
“I’d like to welcome our new student, Night Fang, to the student body, I hope you all will make his stay with this school a happy one.”
Night Fang stood looking at the classroom he was stood in while blanking Celestia and catching the eye of the girl he had seen in the corridor near the principal's office.
Red and Yellow hair, check, evil glare directed at him, check, plans to castrate him the minute she gets him alone, double-check.
No doubt, this is a now teenage Sunset Shimmer.
The minute Celestia had said who he was, the look from Sunset Shimmer spelt danger to him.
This was not the girl who had had a crush on him back in Equestria.
Once Night Fang took his seat, his first thought was to instantly open his book to whatever page he had been told to open it to.
His second, avoid the burning hole being burned into him by the female next to him.
Cafeteria
Sat by himself was a blessing to the male who was sat on his cell phone that his uncle had bought him a week after being back in the human dimension.
With the odd bite of his fries, while looking at the screen, he never saw the female, who was glaring at him in class, walk into the cafeteria with her two flunkies and making everyone run away scared from her mere presence.
When they got to their target, Sunset gave her knuckles a crack before walking over to the male's table.
When she got there, however, she wasn’t expecting the male to be prepared for her.
“Piss off.”
Those two words from Night Fang caused Sunset to stop in her tracks and contemplate her next actions.
She didn’t want to lose face in front of her cronies, especially to this foul-mouthed male.
With a new resolve, she spoke.
“You didn’t even give me a chance to speak you wretch.”
Night Fang paused eating for a second to look at the female in front of him.
The minute the two eyes met properly, time stopped.
Even though his heart was doing somersaults at the beauty in front of him, he held his stoic expression while silently glaring daggers into his childhood friend.
Sunset, however, was trying to hold her expression despite her heart aching.
“You need to remember this, even though you were the big bad back home, the tables have turned, I run this school, got that! You and everyone else is dirt beneath my boots and If you cross me, I won’t be afraid to crush you.”
Sunset says threateningly to the male who is known plussed by the female's presence.
Deep inside, she was bricking it at the fact she was attempting to be a bully to her crush.
Something she knew would spell doom for her.
What caught her off guard was Night Fang getting to his feet with his shake in hand.
Taking a sip of the drink, Night says to the girl in front of him, while she was preparing for the worst.
“You done yakking yet?”
Sunset nods reluctantly before her look of silent backing off turned to rage.
Night Fang had tipped his shake on Sunset’s head before placing the cup on top of her head and whispering in her ear.
“If you remembered what I was like when we were kids darling, you’d know bullies don’t last long around me.”
Before he walked away and left the fuming female behind, he turned and said.
“Oh, and by the way, dinner’s on me tonight, my treat.”
Leaving a blushing and raging Sunset behind, Night Fang couldn’t help but hold his chest and say.
“Holy hell she is gorgeous, just hope she doesn’t kill me for that stunt.”
Back inside the Cafeteria, we see Sunset stood blushing and shaking in rage at the nerve of the male to show up the queen bee of CHS.
Though dinner with her crush did sound tempting.
Later Back At Night Fang’s Home
The minute Night Fang walked through the door after school let out, he wasn’t expecting to see his principal in her casual clothes and sat at the coffee table holding his uncle’s hand.
When Discord noticed him, his face lit up with a smile.
“Hey champ, how was your first day back at school, your human aunt told me you were involved in an altercation with Sunset Shimmer.”
Night Fang was about to speak but the minute he opened his mouth, his fourteen-year-old brother interjected.
“According to PonyBook, Uncle Dizzy, Sunset posted the following...”
‘Never been so humiliated in my life! First my childhood crush comes to MY school and then proceeds to ruin my queen bee image by pouring strawberry milkshake all over me!’
“...So to answer your question uncle Dizzy, Sunset picked the wrong new kid to bully and my brother put her in her place.”
Night Fang closed his mouth, opened it again only to close it, point to his brother and say.
“What he said.”
Discord couldn’t help but shake his head with a smile, Celestia however, only had a few things to say.
“Just be careful Night Fang, even though Sunset is somewhat a model student in her own eyes, I don’t trust her one bit.”
Night Fang nods before heading upstairs to his room.
Night Fang’s Room
Dark blue walls greeted the male as he entered his bedroom, switched on the light and placed his rucksack next to the door before flopping down on his bed and pulling his cellphone from his jeans pocket and looking at the front of the screen.
It was a picture of him and Sunset when the two of them were best friends.
Night Fang couldn’t help but smile a sad smile towards the picture.
‘I made the mistake of losing you once Sunny, I don’t plan on losing you again.’
His thoughts are interrupted by his phone flashing with a notification and the following message appearing.
‘Just making sure this is the right number for you Night Fang.’
Being the ever-curious one, Night texted back.
‘Yea this is the right number, that you Sunset?’
After sending the text, his phone began ringing.
Without hesitation, he answered.
“Nice to hear from you outside of your normal school image Sunset.”
“Well, you know me too well Night, we did grow up together, I just wish I had some warning before you showed up in my life again.”
Night Fang chuckles before continuing to speak.
“Sorry I showed you up darling, I knew you had this new image to protect but my stance on bullies still stands.”
“I know Night, I still remember when you humiliated Rain Cloud to defend my honour back home.”
The mention of their homemade Night Fang sigh sadly, something Sunset caught onto.
“Night, what’s wrong? You had a good life in Equestria didn’t you after you killed Predator right?”
Night didn’t want to tell Sunset the truth, but it was his obligation to his crush to spill the beans.
“Sunset, what I tell you now, stays between us, so here it goes...”
Once Night Fang had gone through the major details of going to his mother’s funeral, being accused of Predator’s murders, watching his best friend be killed in front of him, beating the crap out of Princess Celestia for said murder then fleeing Equestria with his uncle, baby brother and his brother’s girlfriend in tow as he left behind his ex-girlfriend and everything he knew behind.
Sunset had been stunned into silence.
“...And that is why I am back in Humansberg and making your queen bee image mean jack shit.”
Night Fang finished his story and waited on a reply from Sunset, which soon followed.
“So, you’re now a single, falsely accused murderer who beat the crap out of the princess because she murdered your best friend while you escaped and left Twilight behind.”
Night Fang responded with.
“That’s the truth.”
Sunset didn’t know how to respond to that.
However, she did know how to respond when she could hear the male looking through his tablet before he spoke again.
“Is your address still the same Sunset?”
‘Yea it’s the same house from when you saved me from Predator when I was eleven.’
“Perfect, I’ll come to your house soon, just gonna get changed into something casual, then I’ll be around for you.”
After a few more bits of conversation, Night Fang eventually hangs up the phone before going to the wardrobe to decide on his ensemble for the night.
Later
The minute Night Fang chanced upon Sunset’s house on his walk, his first course of action was to walk over to the door and give it three knocks before hearing Sunset say ‘Come In’ and heading inside.
In The Hallway
“Sunset? it’s me, Night Fang.”
The minute the female heard the males voice she shouted to him.
“I’m in the living room!”
That’s all Night Fang needed to hear before taking his sneakers off and heading to the lounge area where Sunset was waiting on him.
Living Room
“You took your sweet ass time Night, thought you were gonna stand me up as you did back home.”
Sunset says with a smirk but noticed the serious look on her old friend’s face, her smile dropped and her look turned to that of concern.
“Too soon?”
Sunset says apologetically, earning a nod from Night Fang before the two sat down on the couch.
Awkwardness soon set in between the two.
The last time these two saw each other was when Night Fang’s mother was killed and Night went berserk and killed Predator.
But there was something, something that was said that day that still stuck with Sunset after she came back to the human world.
Flashback “Bastard...”
With the new voice, Predator looked at his opponent who had weakly got to his hooves before the young horse shouted.

‘Does he still feel that way? even when he was with Twilight, he called me ‘His’ when he tore into Predator.’
Noticing Sunset looking at him, Night Fang turned to face her, only for her to turn her head away with a bright red blush adorned on her face.
Night Fang enjoyed tormenting Sunset, it could be the slightest look her way and her face would turn bright red.
The torment soon stopped when Night Fang pulled his phone out of his pocket to check the time before speaking.
“Welp, I best phone the oriental takeaway then, really fancy a chow mien.”
Night Fang says with a smirk to the female before unlocking his phone and ringing the takeaway for delivery.
Once the orders were placed, Night Fang found a new topic to take his mind off the awkward silence that would soon follow if no one spoke up.
“Oh, by the way, to answer your earlier question on the phone Sunset, I'm willing to date you, well if you still want to despite the image you need to maintain.”
The blush on Sunset’s face said it all, her friend had just boldly asked her out and she was shell shocked.
When she did recover long enough to speak, her first thought came to light.
“What about Twilight?”
“What about her Sunset?”
Sunset had to collect herself and not screw up her second chance at admitting her feelings, this time, without Loki to ruin it all.
“Well when you and Twilight were thirteen, you two were inseparable, obviously not now, but I felt that I had blown my chance when Loki pushed you towards Twilight.”
Night Fang sighed before boldly pulling Sunset in for a kiss.
Before Sunset could deepen the kiss, Night Fang pulled away, leaving the female breathless.
“You never blew your chance, I felt guilty breaking your heart and letting Loki help me towards Twilight, I thought I'd never see you again until I saw you in the school corridor today.”
Sunset sighs knowingly before the male continued.
“I wanted to reciprocate your feelings but my mother, Celestia rest her soul, had other ideas when she came to get me to go shopping for my Winter Ball suit.
Sunset nods before hugging her best friend and now boyfriend Night Fang before the doorbell rang, announcing their take out had arrived.
As the two reunited friends shared jokes, food, kisses and laughter into the night, the male was blissfully unaware of what Sunset was planning to do at the dance.
But for now, Night Fang was to remain blissfully unaware.
Next Day At CHS
News spread like wildfire of the teen who was Sunset Shimmer’s proverbial kryptonite.
Teens no longer had to worry once Night Fang was around to scare off Sunset, Snips and Snails.
Something they didn’t know.
Night Fang is now dating said Queen Bee of Canterlot High in secret.
Times couldn’t be better for the male.
Cheerilee's Class
“Now remember class, fall formal is a couple of days away and since no one is opposing Sunset Shimmer this year, it looks like another victory for her.”
Sunset sits in her seat and smirks cockily before Cheerilee continues what she is saying.
“To make sure no shenanigans happens this year, Principal Celestia has requested there be a fall formal monitor to make sure the voting process goes smoothly.”
Sunset’s cocky smirk dropped at the monitor part before Cheerilee continued.
“Principal Celestia has appointed Night Fang as the Fall Formal Monitor.”
The whole classroom cheered but Sunset hid her face in her hands in mock disappointment.
She was looking and smiling lovingly at the sleeping male at the desk next to her.
‘He has no idea what has just gone on.’
Sunset says in her thoughts before giving the male a nudge causing him to shout after jolting awake.
“GAH! GIANT MARSHMALLOWS!”
“Where?!”
Pinkie says earning a laugh from the class while Night Fang is coming around from his slumber before slowly saying while yawning.
“Sorry Miss...” Yawn “I didn’t sleep much last night with half of the school population sharing the video of me tipping milkshake on Sunset Shimmer.”
Sunset flushes in anger at the male before someone catches him up.
Once all caught up, he speaks.
“I’ll do my best, I'll make sure SOMEONE doesn’t sabotage the formal...”
Night Fang turns and faces Sunset and whispers the last part so only she could hear.
“Even if it’s the girl I love.”
Sunset blushes before the bell spares her any further embarrassment.
Outside of Class
Standing with his locker door wide open and placing his books into the storage unit, he noticed something was up.
“How long have you been standing there Sunset Shimmer.”
Just like that, he was correct, it was Sunset Shimmer, but something was troubling his beloved.
Causing him to say.
“OK, I’ll bite, what’s troubling you, babe?”
Sunset sighs before looking at her boyfriend in the eyes.
“There is something I need to do tonight, but I'm worried it’ll cause a rift between us.”
Sunset says as she motions a finger between herself and Night Fang.
Night Fang sighs before closing his locker door.
“Whatever it is, it can’t be worse than what I'm wanted for Sunset, just as long as no one gets hurt, go for it.”
The look of relief on the female’s face told Night Fang all he needed to see before he received a kiss before she jogs away.
Leaving the male wonder what all the hubbub was all about.
Later That Night
1:53am, Wednesday Morning
Sleep was impossible that night for the male as he tossed and turned before deciding to just sit bolt upright, relaxing and playing on his phone.
Only for his game to be interrupted by a text on his phone.
Groaning at his late-night game being interrupted, he opened the text before looking wide-eyed at what it read.
‘Not too late to join me on this ride home babe, we can stick it to your ex-girlfriend if you help me on my task.’
A sudden but dull thump on the window by a stone announced that Sunset was stood outside the house with a balaclava in hand for Night Fang to wear over his head when they returned to Equestria.
Jumping down from the window sill of the second storey window and landing with his knees bent before standing fully.
Night Fang looks at Sunset comprehensively before accepting the face mask.
Portal To Equestria
The uneasiness the male felt was only coupled with the fact Sunset was stood beside him and holding his hand right in front of the horse statue that held the portal home.
She could feel her boyfriend’s rage and sadness mixing to create a shaking wreck.
A wreck ready to fight the first chance he got.
To Sunset, this was the only sight that worried her that Night Fang was going to mess this up for her, only to see him pull on the face mask and turn to her and saying.
“Lord, I'm coming home to you.”
Before diving in headfirst, soon followed by Sunset.
The Crystal Empire (Night Fang’s P.O.V.)
With eight sets of hooves landing softly on the crystallised floor, Sunset knew she was in the Crystal Empire, me, however…
Thud “What the hell did I just land on?!”
Sunset quickly shushed me before helping me to stand again from my prone position.
Once she knew I was upright and that everything worked, we made our way into the hallway thanks to my speciality silencing spell.
Avoiding guards was the easy task, except when I decided to knock a stallion guard out with a hoof across the neck before quickly disguising myself as said guard before using my horn and hiding the guard in the broom closet and following behind Sunset.
Outside a Bedroom
“She’s here.”
I say nonplussed at the fact my ex, was in this room right in front of me.
My task was that, I was here to help Sunset and damn it, I would help her in any way I could!
“I’ll keep watch, you go get what you’re after.”
Sunset nods before sneaking into the room where her target was while I stood to watch outside the door.
“Come on Sunset, times ticking.”
I mutter to myself as I see Sunset get closer to her target on the nightstand.
A few minutes later and Sunset had done it, the job is done, except for one thing.
She didn’t see a tail on the floor and had tripped up over it making me cringe before my heart rate picked up when Twilight slowly awoke and saw us both with her crown.
“MY CROWN, THEY’VE GOT MY CROWN!”
Twilight’s voice sounded making me panic before I began dragging Sunset out of there before we were soon being followed by Twilight.
“STOP THIEVES!”
What we weren’t expecting was Twilight to teleport right in front of us.
“Sorry Twilight.”
I say regretfully before me and Sunset used teleportation spells and dropped what we were wearing.
Once we were on the other side, my yellow eyes glowed in the dark before me and Sunset bolted it back to the mirror room.
Only for Twilight to tackle Sunset into the mirror room before I had to close the doors on the other five mares before I turned my attention to the two.
“YOU!”
I couldn’t help but cringe before I turned to face Twilight.
“Sorry, it had to be this way Twily.”
I say before I ram Twilight in the side of her ribs, effectively letting Sunset loose with the crown as she jumped through the portal.
“Why are you doing this Night Fang?”
I sigh before I walk towards the portal, once in front of it, I sigh again before turning to face Twilight and saying.
“Strictly business.”
Before I jump through into the portal back to the human world.
Just when Night Fang thought he’d have a normal relationship going for him with Sunset, despite the fact they never showed affection in school except the trips into the janitors closet just to get away from the stress of school.
Today, well…
“That crown doesn’t really belong to you either.”
“EXCUSE ME!”
Night Fang is seen watching Sunset intimidate another student from a distance, almost ready to go in and ‘save the day’ like the couple had done for the last week or so.
It went as follows:
Sunset acts on her queen bee image and intimidates the poor person who crosses her with her cronies while Night Fang would be stood at a distance away from his girlfriend and the person she was intimidating before ‘making the save’.
He would scare off Snips and Snails like planned before mockingly getting angry at Sunset, where she would proceed to fake cry before getting his thanks by the victim before he and Sunset would just smile at each other.
Once the victim was out of sight of them, the two shared a kiss.
It was the perfect three point plan.
Until today when a touch of lavender pissed the lovers plan right up the wall.
“HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO HER THAT WAY!”
The minute Night Fang heard THAT voice and saw HER walk by him towards his new girlfriend.
He couldn’t help but scream and yell internally.
‘NO! GOD DAMN IT TWILIGHT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?’
As he watched the two former friends argue, he saw his girlfriend’s cockiness return as she flicked Twilight’s nose.
“You must be new here.”
Night Fang sighed in relief before watching Sunset scare Normal Norman into his locker before walking towards the turning where he himself was.
Outside The School
“That damn Twilight, can she not leave well enough alone.”
Sat on the grass together at the front of the building, the two friends were sat eating their lunches since they were doing well at keeping the relationship a secret from the student body.
The addition of Twilight to the mix, that complicates things.
“Ease up babe, I’ll deal with her.”
Sunset says reassuringly before she bared witness to the first time her boyfriend’s eyes turned yellow and his fangs took shape in his mouth.
“No, this is something I must do my love, it’s time I confronted my past.”
At this, Sunset didn’t know whether to be scared or turned on by her boyfriend, against her better judgement, she allowed him to deal with the nuisance.
Flickering Light Corridor
The minute Twilight walked around the corridor with the dim lights, she wasn’t prepared for a set of glowing yellow eyes to greet her.
“You couldn’t have left well enough alone.”
The voice spoke, Twilight’s heart broke.
There before her, yellow eyes and fangs bared, was a face she thought long gone from her life, effectively ending their relationship back home.
This was a new Night Fang she was not accustomed to. This one was more vicious and protective than the stallion back then.
“Night Fang?”
“Indeed Twilight, it is I.”
Night Fang says wearily before coming face to face with his now ex-girlfriend.
The minute the two faced each other, tears threatened to sting Twilight’s eyes from the male in front of her.
There was so much she wanted to say, however Night Fang had different ideas.
“If you know what’s good for you Twilight, go back from whence you came and never return, this is my home now.”
Twilight’s resolve nearly faltered before she spoke defiantly.
“Not before I retrieve my crown as the Princess of Friendship from this dimension, a crown I might add, that you and Sunset Shimmer stole from me and returned it back here to be used as the fall formal crown.”
The minute she mentioned crown and that she was a princess, something clicked within his head before he turned his head to face the female before confronting her.
“You, a princess, don’t make me laugh.”
Twilight held her nerve before Night Fang continued.
“Me and Sunset took something of yours because we felt the power of being a monarch should be hers, instead, my godmother grants you that honour, bullshit.”
Staying in close proximity to Twilight, he raised his hand before pointing it at her.
“She will hand any little girl a crown and call them princess, newsflash, that’s not how it works Twilight, the minute Sunset puts that crown on her head tonight, a true princess will be crowned and you go around masquerading to your subjects back in that land that is no longer my home.”
This statement caused Twilight to say in outrage.
“What happened to that colt back in Equestria who’s mother helped him become a respectable young man and my colt friend who I loved with all my heart?”
Big mistake.
As the hole in the locker next to Twilight showed when Night Fang put a hole through the solid metal door as though it was paper and got in Twilight’s face.
“WAKE THE FUCK UP TWILIGHT! YOU ARE NO LONGER MY MAREFRIEND AFTER YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE TURNED ON ME, LOKI, DISCORD AND LILY WHEN YOU TOLD CELESTIA ME AND LOKI HAD PREDATORS POWERS FROM BEING BITTEN, LEADING TO US FLEEING! BECAUSE OF MY GODMOTHER, I LOST RUSTY BUCKET BEFORE I NEARLY KILLED HER WHERE SHE STOOD. BECAUSE OF YOU, I FLED, I TOOK MY BROKEN HEART AND RAN, I RAN FAR AWAY FROM ALL THOSE WHO BETRAYED ME AND MY FAMILY.”
The minute Night Fang calmed down, Spike appeared from Twilight’s bag, only for the male to grab the dogs muzzle and say threateningly.
“And you, open your mouth to any of the princesses, I will hunt you down and hang your head on my mantlepiece!”
Spike soon cowered back into Twilight’s bag before Night turned his attention back to the heartbroken girl in front of him before finishing calmly.
“Go home Twilight...”
Night Fang walked away but not before turning his head and saying.
“...Oh, and you’ve no chance of winning fall formal, Sunset already has this competition in the bag, so don’t waste your time.”
With that, he departed.
Later That Night
Standing in front of the mirror at his girlfriend’s home in the living room, Night Fang had to admire the craftsmanship and the detail Rarity put into his suit.
He looked good.
And a voice shared his thoughts.
“Look at you, watch out ladies, Night Fang the lady killer is in the building.”
Night Fang smiled at the girl who had spoke before she joined him at the mirror and put her arms around him before leaning her head onto his chest.
“Sunset?”
“What is it babe?”
Night Fang sighs before saying what’s on his mind.
“I feel bad for what I said to Twilight.”
This caused Sunset to lift her head and look her boyfriend in the eyes before giving him a small peck on the lips and saying.
“She needed to hear what you had to say baby, it wasn’t your fault you were cursed by Predator to kill in his name.”
Night Fang nods before Sunset continues.
“Once I win the crown, Twilight will no longer be a problem and we can go about our lives as normal darling.”
Night Fang knew he was safe with Sunset, but he still had that niggling feeling in his heart that his new powers would come out tonight.
And not in a good way.
Fall Formal (Night Fang’s P.O.V.) The formal was in full swing, Loki and Lily were enjoying themselves while I was stood by the wall and observing the proceedings.
Besides being a known wallflower, I was also looking out for anything that would go amiss while everyone was enjoying themselves.
I said Hi to people who greeted me and who knew me as their saviour from Sunset Shimmer.
Speaking of my girlfriend, she said she had something to do and had left me by myself, in her words, watch out for the results coming in.
“Seems simple enough, wait, what are those two talking about?”
I say to myself quietly as I spot Twilight conversing with Rainbow Dash, no doubt, she was on the lookout for my girlfriend doing something to sabotage the event.
All seemed normal until the fall formal results were in.
Somehow, my ex had pipped Sunset to the crown, causing me to crush the cup in my hand before leaving the hall.
Outside
Cigarette lit and taking a few drags to calm my nerves from what I saw in the hall, well…
“Well played Twilight, you won fair and square but you winning this doesn’t mean shit to me.”
I had to admit to myself while taking another toke of my cig.
My break was interrupted when some dude was looking for me with panic evident in his eyes.
“NIGHT FANG COME QUICK, SUNSET’S GONE BERSERK!”
The minute that sentence left the guys mouth, I threw my cig before sprinting round to the front of the school.
Front of the School
“Babe, what have you done?”
That was the first thing I said to myself when I saw what was in front of me.
Mind-controlled teenagers, all my classmates, brainwashed into mindless zombies, The cause of all this, well, my heart broke when I saw my beloved flying around and ready to attack Twilight.
End of P.O.V.
“First I take this world, then all of a Equestria.”
Sunset shot off her blast causing the girls to huddle together around Twilight.
Except for one thing.
It involved two males stood with their fists out once the blast had exploded, leaving Night Fang and Loki stood there, breathing heavily before Night looked at his girlfriend with his fangs bared and eyes a bright yellow.
“WHAT’S THIS!?”
Demon Shimmer couldn’t believe her eyes when the dust cleared and Night Fang stood ready to fight with Loki as the two brothers as they stared down the demon before them.
“Stay back girls, we’ve got this.”
Loki says to the six girls behind him before Night Fang and himself took their stances against Demon Shimmer.
“YOU DARE BETRAY ME NIGHT FANG! EVEN AFTER I GAVE YOU THE LOVE TWILIGHT COULD NEVER GIVE YOU!”
Twilight looked at Demon Shimmer before looking at the male nearest her.
Night Fang had a look of guilt on his face when he met his ex girlfriend’s gaze before turning serious and looking back at Sunset.
“YES I DARE, THIS WASN’T WHAT I WANTED SUNSET, YOU PROMISED ME NO ONE WOULD GET HURT IF YOU WON PRINCESS OF THE FALL FORMAL!”
This was the part where Sunset softened but still said angrily.
“You will soon feel the pain I felt when you abandoned me for Twilight, Night Fang.”
Once Demon Shimmer was back in control, she found herself staring down Werewolf Soul 3 Night Fang, yellow eyes and fangs on full display as he stood in front of the girls and shouted.
“THIS ISN’T YOU SUNSET SHIMMER, I NEVER INTENDED TO ABANDON YOU AT ALL, I’D JUST LOST MY MOTHER AND I WAS ABOUT TO BE EXECUTED IN EQUESTRIA FOR PREDATOR’S MURDERS.”
Sunset aimed a magic blast straight at Night Fang who dodged with little effort before getting some momentum going before leaping at Demon Shimmer and beginning to claw at her before her own claws cut Night Fang deep across the front.
Leaving heavy gashes and causing him to bleed heavily before Demon Shimmer threw him away without trying with a straight right fist to the face.
Night had managed to skid along the ground on his back before standing back up with a spin and a nip up before speeding back in with strikes of his own.
Something Sunset wasn’t expecting before it was followed up by a high kick to the chin, sending the demon into the air before he joined her in the sky and knocked her back down with an axe kick to the back of her head.
When Night Fang landed back on the ground next to the crater Sunset had made, he looked in and says sadly.
“How many more must die before I can make you see sense Sunset, because of you, I nearly killed Twilight under your mind control.”
This was when Sunset dropped the one line she will soon regret.
“BECAUSE OF ME! WHAT ABOUT YOU?! YOUR MOTHER WOULD STILL BE ALIVE IF IT WASN’T FOR YOUR CARELESSNESS.”
Something snapped in Night Fang and Sunset unfortunately knew it as she soon felt a fist hit her square in the chops before being set upon by the now angered Night Fang.
“MY MOTHER WAS AN ACCIDENT, I COULDN’T STOP IT IN TIME WHEN PREDATOR CONTROLLED ME AND YOU KNOW IT.”
Once Sunset was thrown halfway across the street, Night Fang stood with his palm outstretched before saying with magic charging in his palm.
“And after tonight, I will erase your evil from the one I love Demon Shimmer, you will haunt her no more.”
Despite still getting chills from Night Fang saying he loved her, she wasn’t prepared for Loki hitting his brother square in the jaw and sending the blast rocketing into the sky.
It was after Sunset had mentioned Luna Stone and the fact Night Fang was involved in her death that had awoken Loki’s dormant power.
Unfortunately for Night Fang, he was now laying in a dent in the nearest car, unconscious and not a clue what had hit him.
When she had looked at the youngest brother, she saw an untapped fury from the once calm Loki as an unimaginable energy surrounded him.
Loki just straight up kicked the crap out of her.
All his fury that had built up since his mother’s death, he was letting her have it all.
“YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SPEAK MY MOTHER’S NAME TO ME YOU BASTARD!”
After bellowing this, Loki uppercutted Sunset into the stratosphere before taking a huge leap and axe kick, kicking Sunset in the back of her head, sending her crashing back into the ground.
When he landed, he kicked her back up into the air slightly before hitting a spinning back kick, sending Sunset through the walls of the school.
In the School auditorium
Demon Shimmer is unsteadily getting to her feet when Loki appeared through the holes in the wall.
Slowly walking, taking his time as blast after blast ricochetted off of him as though they weren’t even touching him.
The panic she felt that day increased tenfold, even when she watched her best attack be swiped away and the teen approaching her.
When he got to her, the 14-year-old Loki picked her up by the front of her dress and stared her down before speaking.
“I can finally avenge MY mother, you and Predator manipulated my big brother and had him hurt my girlfriend, then he had Night Fang kill our mother, for that, I will never forgive you.”
With a freehand, Loki placed his full palm against Sunset’s face and charged up his final magic blast.
“Loki STOP!”
Shouting this just in the nick of time, Night Fang shoved Loki’s hand away before standing in front of Sunset and covering her from the rainbow that had shot straight at her from the six girls from outside.
Sunset had her eyes closed, only for her to open them when she noticed Night Fang had stood in front of the blast intended for her from the girls.
“Night, what are you doing!?”
Night Fang looked at his girlfriend before smiling down at her and saying.
“Sunset...just know I love you enough to stop this for you, I want this demon to never resurface ever again, do you understand?”
Despite the shock of it all, Sunset nodded before the second kiss the two ever shared happened before Night Fang, with enough energy left, locked away Sunset’s demon and removed the crown from her head while they kissed.
Aftermath
When the six came to see Sunset without the crown on her head and back to normal, Twilight noticed Night Fang and Loki had seemingly vanished into the night.
It was also the night that Night Fang and Twilight were officially finished and the new coupling, despite everything, was Night Fang and Sunset.
Sunset after this was forced to rebuild the walls she had been smashed through.
Discord returned to Equestria to say his nephews and Lily had gone AWOL.
The boys and Lily, however, took to roaming the street, searching for their next meal.
Even though they had saved the school, they felt the need to disappear.
Canterlot High Vs Crystal Prep Part III (Road To The World Cup!)
Lemon Zest, the Crystal Prep girl who is never normally seen without her headphones on, is seen walking towards a school field.
Said field belonged to the rival school.
On that field, was someone Lemon Zest was there to spy on for her gains.
That someone.
Fire Step.
She had blended in with the crowd around her as she watched her boyfriend train with the team and put in some crunching tackles against the slackers.
Once she got into a spare seat near the touchline, she watched intently as the team was hard at work before the game against the New Zebraland All Blacks tonight.
This was to decide who goes to the School’s World Cup in first place out of the two qualification spots in Qualification Group C.
“THAT’S IT FIRE STEP, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!”
Night Fang shouts to his star defender before turning to his assistants, Rainbow Dash and Soarin and says.
“OK guys, looking at this team of players, who can we rely on for tonight’s game against the All Blacks?”
With a look at her clipboard and reports, Rainbow relayed her notes to the head coach.
“We need to bench Midnight for this game, we can’t risk injury to one of our midfield players in a qualifier.
Plus with the physicality that the opposition is known for in all areas, Fire Step is gonna have a hell of a task to keep out Rakiti, their star No. 7.
We need to toughen the team up coach, otherwise, we might as well kiss our world cup hopes goodbye.”
Night Fang nods before turning to Soarin.
“Suggested team sheet Soarin?”
Soarin hands Night Fang the team sheet but ends up shouting when he sees what is written on it.
“WHAT!”
Rainbow and Soarin cringe before Night looks at Soarin.
“I can’t play this formation Soarin, it’s not how I do things.”
The whole team looked at Night Fang with weirded out looks before he shouted at them to get their asses back in gear.
Once he’d done that, he looked back at his coaching staff before looking at the sheets again and sighing.
“I’ll consider it you guys, thanks.”
With that Night Fang called a halt to the training session and gathered the team around him and his coaching staff before saying.
“OK guys and girls, good session today, now, onto the main focus at hand.”
Night Fang looks at his team before grabbing the team sheet from Soarin and getting in the middle of his players and discussing tactics.
With Lemon Zest
After watching her boyfriend for a good few minutes before the session was brought to a close, she made her way over to him as he and his teammates were ready to hit the showers.
By that, I mean, she jumps on her boyfriends back and holds on while he tries to get her off.
She couldn’t help but laugh as the two tumbled onto the grass below them and Fire Step had Lemon Zest pinned beneath him.
“That’s a pin.”
Fire Step says victoriously until Lemon licks his cheek, making him lose his grip on the girl before she switched the positions on Step, now he was the one pinned.
The spectacle caused everyone to laugh at Fire Step, including Lemon Zest.
It was all broken up when Midnight walked over and tapped Lemon lightly on the back with his studded boot.
“Hello there Zest, what brings you to our training session when it’s finished?”
Lemon looks up at the other male before saying.
“Hey, dude, it’s mine and Fire’s date night tonight and maybe he’ll attempt to be romantic this time instead of some snooze fest in eastern Fillydelphia.”
The minute Fire Step was reminded it was his date night tonight, his face paled.
It was the final qualification game tonight against the All Blacks, but then again it wasn’t the first time he’d bailed on a date to play soccer.
Remember Road Block, he did just that to her while playing for the Rangers in the Super League.
“Right, that, I’m sure I’ll see you tonight baby, it’s just with tonight’s game, I nearly forgot.”
Lemon nods at her boyfriend's words before saying herself.
“Hey it’s cool, had I known myself, I’d have made coming to your game against the all blacks then hitting a burger joint our date night tonight.”
Fire Step couldn’t help but chuckle at his girlfriend's carefree nature.
The same couldn’t be said for Night Fang.
Night Fang’s Office
Going over the suggested team sheet by his staff then going over his notes from the time he played against the All Blacks.
One thing still haunted Night Fang to this day.
That damn penalty which got him kicked from the team after the School’s World Cup semi-finals, the same year the All Blacks won the competition against Crystal Prep.
“I don’t want my team to buckle under the same pressure I did back then.”
Despite his best attempts to stay calm, his desk was soon tipped over and he screamed so much profanity, he wouldn’t be surprised if the whole school heard him.
Night Fang and Sunset’s Home, That Afternoon
Sat at the kitchen table, scrunched up paper at the side of him from all the ideas he deemed stupid.
Night Fang was in a bind.
“Can Midnight even play left midfield if I move Scootaloo into the strike position?”
Night couldn’t help but ruffle his hair in frustration at the frustrating tactics he had to pick out against an opponent Canterlot High has never beaten.
Not even coach Spitfire could come up with something against this formidable opponent.
His frustration eased when a voice spoke.
“Daddy?”
Night looked up from where his head was laying and saw his five-year-old daughter, Crescent Rain looking at him curiously before he acknowledged her.
“Hey sweetheart, can I get you anything?”
Crescent took a seat next to her frustrated father before pulling over the sheet towards her.
“No daddy, momma sent me in here to check on you, she was worried you were losing your marbles, as she put it, over this whole thing with the soccer team.”
Night Fang couldn’t help but chuckle at his wife’s assessment over the predicament he was in before he noticed his daughter take the pen from him before she began doodling on his tactics sheet.
He was about to take the sheet from his daughter until he saw what she was doing.
She was marking certain spots on the sheet with neatly drawn lines, he’d have to thank her aunt Twilight for teaching her.
She had her mother’s brains.
“OK daddy, here is your sheet back, I'm going to go read with momma now, hope you win tonight.”
Crescent kissed her dad on the cheek before she left the room with her teddy in her arms.
Looking at the sheet, Night couldn’t believe his eyes.
“Crescent, you are a little genius!”
On the sheet, his daughter had made a 5-3-2 formation with attacking full-backs, she even noted that Scootaloo could play strike with another striker instead of Light Speed since he was out for the world cup.
She had placed Fire Step on his preferred right-hand side of the field since he is left-footed at the right wing-back position, meaning he can get up and support the midfield or strikers if needed or get in amongst the goals as he had done before.
Crescent had placed the back five as the following:
Spring Clean at Left Wing Back.
Blackheart, Applebloom, Cloud Chaser and Spring Clean as the Centre Backs.
Fire Step as mentioned, he plays at Right Wing Back.
Sunny Rays, Midnight and Coal as the three in midfield.
Scootaloo and Crystal Shield as the two upfront.
His daughter had even named Midnight as the captain, which surprised him, he never thought Midnight could lead a team, let alone against the All Blacks.
But he couldn’t let his daughter down, she had drawn this sheet up for him and he planned on using it.
Canterlot Stadium, Later That Night
Once the team were getting changed into their home kit for tonight’s game, Night Fang walked in, the smile never leaving his face before his assistant Soarin called for the team's attention.
Once Night was sure he had the teams attention, he spoke.
“With Light Speed out now until after the world cup and my little girl getting a hold of my team sheet.
I am running a 5-3-2 formation, meaning, Spring Clean and Fire Step, you are on the left and right wing-back positions respectively, you will be flanking the four centre backs which are, Cloud Chaser, Spring Clean, Blackheart and Applebloom who I am removing from second-choice goalkeeper to play at centre back.”
Applebloom looked on pleasantly surprised by the fact that she was being moved outfield for a change instead of waiting on Emerald to get injured just to get game time.
“The three central midfielders are, Coal Dust, Sunny Rays and Midnight Fang.”
Scrap nodded in approval at the three chosen over him, he didn’t mind being an impact substitution for the guys and girls as long as it wasn’t for an injury.
“Of course, my two strikers are Scootaloo and Crystal Shield with Tail Wind and Light Patch being the substitute strikers.”
Scootaloo and Shield high fived before Night Fang brought out the captains armband.
“Normally, I know who I would normally pick for this, but, my daughter had other ideas when she drew up this game plan.”
Everyone got a shock when, instead of walking over to Fire Step with the armband, he walked over to Midnight with it and nearly gave the male a heart attack.
“You are my daughters choice for captain Midnight, do you accept?”
Midnight gulped before looking over at Fire Step who couldn’t help but smirk and give him the thumbs up, genuinely happy for his best friend before Midnight nods and says.
“I accept coach.”
A small cheer goes up in the changing rooms while Midnight places the armband on his right arm before standing upfront with his vice-captain Fire Step and Coach Night Fang before clearing his throat of any nervousness and saying.
“Tonight, we face one of our greatest challenges before we enter the world cup in two months, the All Blacks have run riot on the Wondercolts for far too long and I say it’s time we went out there and showed them we aren’t here to lose, BUT WE ARE HERE TO FIGHT!”
The changing room erupts into cheers before the announcement for the teams to make their way to the tunnels sounds before Midnight leads the team out to the tunnel.
Tunnel
Once the team are standing in a straight line and ready to exit the tunnel out onto the field.
Coach Night Fang makes his way to the bench with his assistants and the subs for tonight’s game, much to the applause of the home crowd and the derision of the away crowd who remembered him from the World Cup semifinal.
He didn’t let it get to him as he took his seat with Soarin and Rainbow before the home team made their way out first to ‘The Touch’ by Stan Bush, much to the home crowds adulation.
Night Fang noticed the nervousness on his new captains face but decided that his human counterpart would rise tonight against a much tougher opponent.
The Field
Midnight hated the fact that all eyes were on him to lead the team tonight over a huge hill called the All Blacks.
Led by Rakiti, the all-female team was a fearsome sight to behold.
The ten-time School’s World Cup Champions had fielded a slightly weaker team which was to compete with the inferior team.
But Rakiti would still lead this secondary team.
Once the referee had the two All Blacks players in the centre circle with the ball, she blew the whistle and the game began.
First Half
6th Minute
The game had only just reached the six-minute mark before we get the first foul of the game.
It involved All Blacks Number 12, Cakuta, wiping out Coal Dust when he had the ball with an almost leg-breaking tackle, leading to a straight red card for the midfielder, leaving the female team with just ten women.
19th Minute
First blood to the All Blacks, scored by Rakiti after a superb one-woman effort to get around the five defenders before chipping it over Emerald with ease.
Her celebration included doing the cut-throat motion to Night Fang in the dugout before joining her team for the restart.
Canterlot Wondercolts: 0 – 1: New Zebraland All Blacks
23rd Minute
No sooner had Canterlot tried to get some momentum going, the All Blacks snuffed them out again, this time Wakata, All Blacks number 3, nearly snapped Scootaloo’s legs when she was clear on the All Black’s goalkeeper, Logati.
Scootaloo punched the ground in frustration when the ball was booted up the field.
28th Minute
A second goal for the All Blacks.
This time scored by All Blacks Number 8, Kintoni, with an assist from a Rakiti volleyed pass from the side of the box before the awaiting player sent the ball almost through the net with a powerful header.
Night Fang was growing increasingly frustrated by his team's lack of commitment to wanting to win as the other team was just embarrassing them now.
Canterlot Wondercolts: 0-2: New Zebraland All Blacks
39th Minute
Night Fang couldn’t help but hide his face behind his clipboard when the All Blacks number 7, Sikula, nutmegged the goalkeeper to put her team three up.
Night wanted this half to end so he could give his players a kick up the ass.
But for now, he just hoped his wife wasn’t in the stands watching this disaster play out.

40th Minute
Night Fang was thanking his lucky stars that some of his players knew how to play when Midnight scored to salvage the game from the brink of humiliation for CHS.
With the help of Fire Step’s powerful long pass, Midnight dodged Sikula before doing a roulette nutmeg to the other two midfielders and leapfrogging the defender before hitting a venomous shot into the middle of the net just above the keepers head.
It was like those three unanswered goals had awoken something in Midnight as he slid on his knees towards the home fans and saluted them.
Canterlot Wondercolts: 1-3: New Zebraland All Blacks
45th +1 minute Injury time
Something had changed in the Wondercolts thanks to their captain's goal and it showed when they started using their wing-backs more as Fire Step nearly took Rakiti’s head off with a high kick straight to her face in the penalty area.
Leading to a mass brawl between all the players on the field.
When it eventually calmed down, Fire Step himself was red-carded and Rakiti was walked off the field with a concussion and a gash on the side of her head.
The confidence in the All Blacks faces soon vanished when they noticed that the Wondercolts had found their weakness now.
Setting up the penalty, Kolata, All Blacks number 65, notices Emerald preparing to send this game to the end of the first half by possibly saving this penalty.
With a deep breath before the referee’s whistle, Kolata hits it in the sweet spot, only for Emerald to use his height and tip it over the bar before the referee called an end to the first half.
END OF THE FIRST HALF
“Now I don’t normally approve of such tactics guys but just to see the cockiness wiped off their faces, that was just pure bliss.”
Night Fang was saying to his ten players who were all holding their respective aching body parts.
The first half had been tough on Night Fang’s team and it showed.
It was only Midnight who was bouncing about on his seat, ready to inflict more damage to the All Blacks.
Night Fang couldn’t help but smirk at his captain before speaking again.
“Now since we are down to ten men, I think it’s time we ran the 4-4-2 where wing-backs are no longer needed, instead, Spring Clean you are moving to right midfield while Scrap will partner his usual 3 in midfield on the right-hand side of midfield.”
Spring Clean nods before Night turns to Crystal Shield.
“Crystal Shield, you will be partnering one of the newbies, make sure she gets comfortable up top as you partner Tail Winds instead of Scootaloo.”
Crystal nods before giving Tail Winds a soft punch to the arm in encouragement before Night Fang continues.
“Now that the selection nightmare is over, go out there and give them hell guys, even though it doesn’t matter if we win this game or not, we need to make a statement and keep second place.”
The team let out noises of agreement before they rose out of their seats to head to the tunnel for the second half.
The Stands
Making his way to the stands after his first-half red card, Fire’s first thought was to try and find his girlfriend while holding two hot dogs and two cups of cola and lemonade. Finding the green and yellow-haired girl wasn’t too hard, she was sat with Baton, Lily, Wallflower and Equestria Sunset who had her son and daughter with her to watch the game.
Lily was the first to spot him.
“Here comes the psycho now, did you enjoy nearly taking the oppositions captain head off?”
Fire Step chuckles at Lily before sitting in the empty seat next to Lemon and besides Wallflower before he answers the female.
“Let’s just say, Rakiti wasn’t expecting someone to bring the fight to her.”
He says this while handing his girlfriend her drink and food before he bites into his food ready to watch the second half.
Second Half
46th Minute
As though a light switch had been turned on, The All Blacks were facing a different Canterlot than in the first half.
No one had ever seen Tail Winds play in the Wondercolts colours but the teen was tearing apart the All Blacks defence until an All Blacks defender upended her, only for the ball to fall to Sunny Rays forty yards out as the midfielder flicked it over Kokoda before he hit a stunning left-footed half volley which nestled into the top corner of the net.
Night Fang couldn’t believe his eyes, neither could his wife in the stands, the last time someone did that against the All Blacks was Loki in the final of the Inter-Nations Shield eight years ago.
Canterlot Wondercolts: 2-3: New Zebraland All Blacks
48th Minute
The All Blacks had the ball, only to run into a tackle from Applebloom, which freed the ball, only for it to drop to an All Blacks striker who struck it with some power, only for Blackheart to volley the ball away towards Sunny Rays who did a one-two pass with Scrap Shot before Sunny does a lobbed through ball pass to Tail Winds who smashes her shot against the post and out for an All Blacks throw.
55th Minute
Night Fang was thanking his lucky stars for the good start his team was on for the second half and his relief showed when Blackheart dispossessed the All Blacks midfielder before she even got close to the box before going on a blistering run upfield.
“RUN FOREST, RUN!”
Fire shouts from the stands as Blackheart takes on the All Blacks before laying the ball off to Crystal Shield to smash the ball home into the net, sending the home crowd into ballistics while Crystal Shield saluted his coach and teammates before running back into position.
Game on.
Canterlot Wondercolts: 3-3: New Zebraland All Blacks
65th Minute
The close calls kept piling up for the Wondercolts.
Not only was Emerald set upon eighteen times by the All Blacks strikers, but by the midfield too. When it looked like the All Blacks had gone back into the lead, it was ruled offside by the lineswoman, making the All Blacks coach, Zecora, go mad down on the touchline.
Night Fang, however, was the opposite, he nearly had a heart attack on the touchline, resulting in Light Patch trying to revive her coach.
78th Minute
Opportunity knocked again for Tail Winds, this time with help from a lobbed pass from Scrap Shot before she attempted a rabona shot only for the keeper to catch it, leading to the seventeen-year-old growing increasingly frustrated until Crystal calmed her down and told her to think straight.
85th Minute
Foul against the Wondercolts.
Blackheart had brought down Lakota outside the penalty area with an elbow to the face.
He was lucky to get a warning, he wasn’t so lucky that it was so close to the end of the game and Rakiti had returned to the field after telling the doctors she was OK to continue, plus, the kick was placed in her speciality area as well.
With the wall stood firm, Rakiti looked at the row of stoic faces who now showed no fear by her presence compared to earlier, she smirked.
When the referee’s whistle blew, Rakiti struck it true and it should have been a goal.
Except, she had shot the ball in the path of Emerald, who had caught the ball with one hand in front of him, making the Canterlot crowd sigh in relief as the man from the Emerald Isles smirked.
90th + 3 Minutes Injury Time
With one long throw from Emerald and the game nearly ready to be over, the ball fell kindly to Scrap, who roulette turned two midfielders before lobbing it to Spring Clean who nutmegged his opposite number before through balling it into the path of Crystal Shield who was clear on goal.
Only for Logati to wipe out Crystal with a straight clothesline.
The Canterlot crowd went ballistic at what had happened before Crystal nipped up and looked at the injured goalkeeper who had broken her arm trying to take him out.
Penalty awarded to Canterlot.
Midnight Fang to take the final kick of the game.
Night Fang with his head in his hands and hoping for the best.
This was it.
Midnight placed the ball on the spot and walked back five paces before standing with his hands on his hips and looking at the hurt Logati right in the eyes.
“Come on Midnight.”
Baton says to herself as she is nearly biting her fingernails at the tense moment playing out before her.
The girls beside her didn’t dare look away.
Fire Step was at the edge of his seat.
Midnight looked at the crowds who had gone silent just for this penalty before he looked at the referee about to blow her whistle.
Once the whistle blows, Midnight makes his move.
With the bated breath from his girlfriend, teammates and coaches, the ball left Midnight’s weak left foot.
And buried itself into the middle of the net after Logati dived the wrong way.
Once the whistle blew to end the game, Midnight looked around at the silent arena before realisation sunk in when he looked at the scoreboard.
FULL TIME Final Score:
Canterlot Wondercolts: 4-3: New Zebraland All Blacks
The crowd went into ballistics before the whole crowd rushed the pitch and swamped Midnight.
Midnight had broken the curse of never beating the All Blacks and Night Fang couldn’t believe the noise coming from the sidelines.
The celebrations on the pitch would live on in the minds of all the Canterlot Wondercolts in attendance.
But now, an even bigger fate awaits with the draw for the 2019 School’s World Cup in Africa.
Night Fang’s House
“Man, what a night to remember, huh Midnight?”
Baton says to her boyfriend who nods at his girlfriend while he is seen eating popcorn while his Equestria counterpart is sat on the other couch with his wife and kids getting ready for the draw.
Fire Step is stood behind the couch with Lemon Zest while Scrap is by himself since Wallflower wanted to stay at her parent's house tonight.
“I wonder who we’ll get in the group stage since there are sixty-four teams and us, Crystal Prep and The All Blacks are three teams out of the sixty-four.”
Sunset nods before she turns the television over to the sports channel that is covering the World Cup draw as a voice speaks up from the TV.
“Welcome everyone, to the 2019 School’s World Cup Draw for the group stage.”
The silence was deafening as the announcer began explaining the format.
“Now for first-time viewers or to the teams making their debut in this edition of the cup, here is how the School’s World Cup works:
The competition is comprised of sixty-four teams from all around the seven continents in twelve groups of four.
The top two teams in each of those twelve groups after six games will qualify for the round of 32.
The round of 32 to The Semi-Final will comprise of two legs, both home and away at different venues across the continent of Africa.
The team who is victorious will be decided by aggregate, meaning if a team wins 1-0 in the first leg then 3-0 in the second leg, the team who scored those goals will go through with 4-0 on aggregate.
If the aggregate score is level after the regulation ninety minutes in the second leg, two fifteen-minute periods of extra time will take place. If the tie remains equal in the Round of 32 to the semi-finals during extra time, then a penalty shoot-out will take place.
The final will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on the 17th July.
The two teams eliminated in the semifinal will contend the third-place play-off on the 16th July.
Now to make the draw for groups A through to F, first we have a five-time cup winner with the Trottingham High Red Devils and their current coach, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage, Pitch Fork!”
Night Fang couldn’t believe how badly time had aged a School’s World Cup icon from Granny Smiths time at CHS in the fifty's.
Sunset couldn’t believe the guy was still alive at seventy-four years old.
“And to make the draw for Groups G to L, she is the all-time leading goalscorer with sixteen goals in a single competition in the same year as of when she led the All Blacks to their recent tenth world title over Crystal Prep four years ago, ladies and gentlemen, Rakiti!”
Night Fang knew Rakiti was tough but to go on stage with a bandage over the side of her head, man, he had to show some respect for the All Blacks captain for not caring about whether she was injured or not.
“Now, Pitch Fork, if you’d like to get the tumbler going, we are ready to begin the draw for Group A of the 2019 School’s World Cup”
The two ladies at the side of the tumbler began to spin the container five times before Pitch Fork reached in and pulled the first ball out of the tumbler.
Unscrewing the ball and pulling out the paper, he unfolds it before showing it to the camera and saying.
“New Zebraland All Blacks.”
The woman speaks while Pitch Fork is choosing the next team.
“New Zebraland qualified after topping group C almost convincingly, only suffering defeat once all through qualification to the Canterlot Wondercolts.”
The next ball is drawn and the paper is pulled from the container as Pitch announces the name of…
“Trottingham Red Devils.”
“The Red Devil’s qualify after Canterlot High won the Regional school’s cup in the final against Crystal Prep, they were the third-placed team in Qualification group C and only qualify due to Canterlot electing to qualify again instead of automatic qualification to the finals in Africa.”
When the next team is chosen, Night Fang and Sunset are pleasantly surprised by who is announced.
“The third team in Group A is the Tokyo Lightnings, they qualified after beating Chineighese side, the Beijing Raptors in a best of 7 series to decide who qualified out of the four Asian countries.”
“The Lightning, this should be a good challenge for New Zebraland, Tokyo is unbeaten twenty years running in their school league.”
Night Fang states to everyone in the room who looks at him pleasantly surprised, except for Sunset, she just rolls her eyes at her husband having a, what she calls a ‘Twilight Moment’ by stating facts about stuff he cares about.
The last draw was made for group A as they heard…

“Australian School League Champions in 2018, beating North Sydney Mariners in the play-off final in the 2018/19 Outback league. With that draw, here is the full group A table.”

Once the screen changes to the next group which is Group E before the presenter speaks.
“Next up is the draw for Group E, still to be drawn are the Regional School Cup champions, the Canterlot Wondercolts and Crystal Prep Academy.”
“With a long rivalry between the two schools main teams, the Wondercolts and the Shadowbolts, will this rivalry be put to the test at the world cup this summer?”
The draw begins with Pitch Fork reaching into the tumbler and pulling the first ball out of the container for group E.
The first name announced, well…
“Starting off Group E, the Canterlot Wondercolts.”
Night Fang’s house was rocking at the announcement, they were just glad they’d avoided drawing the All Blacks in the group stage.
Rakiti on screen looked like she’d just tasted a lemon for the first time at the fact her team was denied a rematch against Canterlot.
Midnight couldn’t help but laugh at Rakiti’s face.
“Canterlot Wondercolts, the only team to beat New Maresland All Blacks in 2019 and despite being regional cup champions in the 2018/19 season, opted to qualify again so Trottingham took the regional spot instead of Canterlot.”
Now that the Wondercolts had been announced, everyone in Night Fang’s house held their collective breathes on who would join them in the group before News Reader announced the next team Pitch Fork had picked.
“The next team to join the Wondercolts in Group E is the Vanhoover Wildcats, a team making their World Cup debut after qualifying third in their group behind the Mareami Sunshine and the Chicago Windies, who are in World Cup Group B.”
With that, Pitch Fork made the next selection and pulled at a name Sunset wasn’t expecting to hear.
“Next up, we have the Emerald Isle Centurions, led by captain Emerald Glimmer, The Emeralds qualified for the cup by finishing top of the 18/19 Jewel League by twenty clear points of the Ruby Island Polecats.”
“Looks like I’ve got a selection nightmare for a goalkeeper again since Emerald is our number one shot-stopper between the sticks.”
Night Fang says before his wife pipes up.
“You’ve got plenty of goalkeeper options since Applebloom moved to centre back, I’m sure Misty Skies will be happy to be a second choice keeper for the team.”
Night Fang nods at the fair assessment before the last team is due to be announced.
“And to round out Group E, Pitch Fork has drawn...The Crystal Prep Shadowbolts.”

The silence was deafening in Night Fang and Sunset’s house that night.
They went from avoiding New Zebraland to getting their cross-town rivals in their group.

Night says quietly before slowly taking Sunset’s reading glasses off before picking up his beloved from her chair bridle style and moving her over to the bed.
Once he made sure Sunset was comfy under the covers, Night Fang stripped down to his boxer shorts and quietly got into bed.
Once he set a sleep track going, he pulled the covers over him before getting comfortable.
Once he thought he was comfortable and his wife had her arms around him in her sleep, Night Fang drifted off to sleep.
