Chapter 1: Falling for someone! *Update*

“Come on Rainbow Dash! I have this BIG prank set up, you got to see it!” Said an ecstatic Pinkie pie. “Hurry, Hurry, HURRY!” Its was bright, sunny morning in Ponyville. The birds were chirping; the ponies were playing. The Pegasus ponies really outdid themselves today. All was well with ponyville. It was a simple, casual day, which is a perfect day for pranking by the way. Ah, pranking. Its was one of Pinkie Pie’s and Rainbow Dash’s favorite things to do together. In fact, its what got them to be friends in the first place. Unfortunately Rainbow Dash wasn’t exactly in the mood for pranking, but she would gladly come along to see Pinkie’s prank.

“Wait up Pinkie Pie,” Said Rainbow Dash. “I’m still a little exhausted after clearing the clouds today so we better make this quick.” Pinkie led Rainbow Dash to a cliff area where there was pair of binoculars resting near the edge. Pinkie pie picked them up and peered through them. She smiled when she found the prank was still there and they haven’t missed it.

“Take a look Rainbow Dash.” Pinkie lightly tossed the binoculars towards Rainbow Dash. The binoculars fumbled in her hooves for a little bit then she tilted the binoculars up to her eyes. Rainbow Dash surveyed the land for a little bit, but she found no “BIG” prank. “Um...Pinkie.” Began Rainbow Dash. “Where is this “BIG” prank you’re talking about? Pinkie gave a little giggle and then pointed with her hoof.

“Right there, silly.” Pinkie pie responded. She then proceeded to point with her hoof where exactly her prank was. It was right near sugercube corner. Rainbow Dash peered through the binoculars again. She noticed there was a sole banana peel in the middle of the road. “...Your idea of a big prank,” Began Rainbow Dash, “...is a banana peel?”

“Yep!” Replied Pinkie pie. “Isn’t it great! Though, I am surprised no one has stepped on it yet, but that means we can still see someone slip.” Pinkie pie started giggling to herself. Rainbow Dash still was unsure about this.

“Wait...so why are we up on this cliff instead of down there?” Asked Rainbow Dash.

“So we won’t get caught, Duh!”

“But we would’ve had a better view of the action if we were down there instead of up here.” Pinkie pie smiled.

“That is why I brought a pair of binoculars to watch the prank.”

“...Pair?” Rainbow questioned. “I only see one binocular, and that is the one I’m holding. There is no other one.” Pinkie Pie just shot Rainbow a sneaky smile.

“Is there?” Pinkie pie then bounced her way over to the bushes to fetch another pair of binoculars. She then proceeded to show it off to Rainbow Dash.

“Why were you hiding...?” Rainbow Dash decided to shrug it off. This is Pinkie Pie we’re talking about. You can’t explain anything when it comes to her. “Forget it Pinkie Pie.” Pinkie Pie gave another one of her giggles. She then came to a realization.

“Oh my gosh! The prank!” Pinkie Pie quickly positioned her binoculars to eye level then checked to see if the banana peel was still there. When she saw that the set up was still undisturbed, she gave a sigh of relief. “Phew.” Rainbow Dash couldn’t help but give her own little giggle now. She then looked through the binoculars herself. She noticed a yellow figure walking backwards towards the banana peel apparently escorting a group of ducks. Rainbow Dash recognized the yellow figure instantly.

“Pinkie Pie!” Rainbow Dash shouted. “Its Fluttershy! She’s heading towards the banana peel!”

“WHAT?!? We have to stop her!” However, before she could even try to stop the most likely inevitable slipping on a banana peel, Pinkie pie tripped and flew off the side of the cliff. Pinkie Pie was screaming for her life. It couldn’t end like this! Not when there is so much stuff to do. And definitely not over something so stupid like tripping over the side of a cliff.

About three seconds until impact. Most ponies say that you see your life flash before your eyes when you think you might meet your demise. Pinkie Pie’s life did flash before her eyes, but not only that, but also her hopes and dreams. Her dream of of holding the biggest, bestest party in all of Equestria. Her dream of breaking the record for most eaten sweets. There was one dream that she hadn’t thought of in a while. something she didn’t think about because she never really had the time to go through with it. It was the dream of finding that one special stallion. However, now that she thought about it, she really wished she had.

She closed her eyes tightly. She was so close to hitting the ground. However, it no longer felt like she was falling to her death. It felt more like she was...floating? She opened her eyes to see that Rainbow Dash was holding her.

There was something Pinkie noticed about Rainbow Dash that she never really had noticed before...her eyes. Pinkie noticed they were beautiful. Her rose colored eyes were so entrancing. She also noticed her beautiful hair. The way it was flowing in the breeze...and lastly her smile. It was a beautiful smile.

"Pinkie Pie..."

She could stare at her smile all day.

“Pinkie Pie!”

Everything, really was just stunning, about Rainbow Dash.

“PINKIE PIE!”

Pinkie Pie snapped out her trance to see Rainbow Dash was trying to speak to her.

“Oh...um.” Pinkie had huge blush on her face. “Thanks for saving me Rainbow Dash.”

“No problem Pinkie, I would never let my friends fall to their demise.” Pinkie pie gave a little giggle.

“WAH!” Pinkie Pie’s and Rainbow Dash’s heads turned at the same time to see Fluttershy slip on the banana peel.

“...Oops...” Said both Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash quickly,(but gently), placed Pinkie Pie on the ground. They then both rushed over to Fluttershy.

“Fluttershy!” Began Rainbow Dash. “Are you ok?”

“Oh, I’m fine.” Replied Fluttershy. “I’m just a little bruised up.”

“I’m so sorry Fluttershy.” Spoke Pinkie Pie. “I didn’t mean for you to get caught up into the prank.” Pinkie Pie gave her a nervous frown.

“Its ok Pinkie Pie.” Said Fluttershy. “As long as you didn’t mean it then everything is fine.” She then gave a little smile and Pinkie pie smiled back. “Though...” Began Fluttershy. “The ducks did end up running away when I slipped on that banana peel and now I have to round them up again.”
“Don’t worry! We’ll help you gather the ducks.” Offered Pinkie Pie. She then turned to face Rainbow Dash with a smile. “Right Rainbow Dash?”

“US!?!” Said Rainbow Dash with objection in her voice. “It was your pra...” Before Rainbow Dash could finish her argument, Pinkie pie gave her a stern look. Rainbow Dash let out a sigh. “...Fine...”

“That’s more like it.” Said Pinkie Pie with a smile.

“By the way Pinkie Pie.” Began Fluttershy. “I heard a scream that sounded like yours. What was that?”

“Oh...” Responded Pinkie Pie. “You see, I kinda ended up tripping and falling from that cliff up there.” She then proceeded to point towards the cliff she was previously atop of.

“OH MY GOSH!” Exclaimed Fluttershy. “ARE YOU HURT?!? WHERES THE DAMAGE?!? Quickly! Let’s hurry to my house!” Fluttershy then proceeded to try to dash towards the cottage but Pinkie Pie stopped her.

“Calm down Fluttershy.” Reassured Pinkie Pie. “Rainbow Dash saved me before I could reach the bottom. She then began to blush again. What was with her? She started to think about Rainbow Dash in a weird way. It was almost as if she...

No, no, no. Pinkie Pie thought to herself. I’m a Mare, she’s a mare. Its just not right. Pinkie Pie thought deeper about it. Besides, it was probably just because she saved me from almost certain death. It’s probably just my emotions recovering from the fall.

“Pinkie Pie...”

Yeah that had to be it!

“Pinkie Pie!”

Twilight may even have book about this kind of thing. It probably happens all the ti...

“PINKIE PIE!” Shouted Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie Pie started to blush really hard.

“Hehe” Responded Pinkie Pie. “Sorry about that.”

“What’s with you today Pinkie Pie?” Asked Rainbow Dash. “You seem to be staring into space.”

“Oh...” Said Pinkie Pie. “I’m probably still trying to recover from the fall.” Which was, after all, half true.

“Anyway Pinkie Pie.” Began Rainbow Dash. “I was trying to tell you we should get going on helping Fluttershy gather her ducks.” Pinkie Pie nodded her head in agreement. “Are you ready Fluttershy?” Fluttershy leapt into the air and gave a little twirl.

“Always when it comes to animals.” The rest of day consisted of Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy rounding up all the lost ducks and escorting them to the pond that Fluttershy was originally taking them to.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was now a little bit after sunset and the rays of orange still in the sky. Some ponies were getting ready to go to bed or finish their activities while the two friends were walking Fluttershy home.

“Thanks again for helping me find and escort the ducks.” Said Fluttershy to her two friends.

“No probs Fluttershy.” Replied Rainbow Dash. “Like we said, or like Pinkie Pie “convinced” me. It was “our” fault and so it was “our” responsibility to help you.” Pinkie Pie giggled yet again. Sometimes this mare makes me mad. Thought Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy looked up at the sky and noticed how late it was .

“Oh...my.” Began Fluttershy. “It’s getting awfully late girls. Maybe you should stay in my house for the night. I wouldn’t want you girls to be a-attacked by some m-mean pony or some m-mean thing.”

“Don’t worry Fluttershy.” Replied Pinkie Pie. “With me and Rainbow Dash together there is nothing we can’t overcome!” Pinkie Pie started blushing again. Darn, and just when I thought I was over with that...

Both Pinkie and Rainbow Dash waved goodbye and goodnight to Fluttershy as they began their journey home.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a couple hours until midnight when they finally made it back to Sugarcube corner. Everypony was asleep at the time. All except Pinkie and Rainbow Dash.

“Phew.” Said Rainbow Dash with relief in her voice. “Here we are Pinkie Pie.” Pinkie Pie started to walk towards the house. She then stopped and turned around to tell Rainbow Dash.

“Hey, Rainbow Dash.” Said Pinkie Pie. “Can, I ask you something?”

“Sure what is it?” Replied Rainbow Dash. A couple of questions ran through her head, for example: How do you feel about mares? and Did you feel anything when you saved me? and also How do you feel about me. However she decided to go with a different question...

“So are you now extra exhausted?”

“Well that’s a weird question to ask me. Well of course I am. Do you know how hard it is to round up bunnies?” Pinkie Pie started to frown realizing all the extra stress she put on Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash noticed this and proceeded to put her arm on Pinkie Pie's shoulder, then reassured her. “But,” Began Rainbow Dash, “Its all worth it when I get to hang out with my friends.” Rainbow Dash then gave a little smile. Pinkie Pie’s heart started to beat faster. “Anyway Pinkie Pie I have to go.” Rainbow Dash then dashed into the air while promising Pinkie Pie she would she her tomorrow and then disappearing into the night.

Pinkie Pie was now left alone with her heart beat started to slow back down again.

...What was that? Thought Pinkie Pie. My heart started to beat faster when Rainbow dash smiled at me. She then softly hit her head with her hoof a couple of times. Get these thoughts out of my head. Pinkie Pie then gave a little sigh. Maybe all I need is a good night sleep. So, Pinkie Pie bounced her way into Sugarcube corner deciding that the best course of action was to just sleep it off. She tucked herself in and hoped for a better day tomorrow.

Chapter 2: The beauty of a sunset *Update*

“What in the world does Pinkie want now?” Rainbow Dash looked backed at the note she received:

Dear Rainbow Dash,

I want to tell you something. Its kinda embarrassing and I just want you to hear it; Please don’t bring anyone else with you. If you can come and listen to me, then please go to where we were yesterday. And please make sure you are not followed. Remember to go near sunset. Ok?

Sincerely,

Pinkie Pie

She quickly stuffed the note into the saddle bags she was carrying and trotted into the Everfree Forest.

“Now...Where was the route again?” Rainbow Dash started to worry as she got deeper and deeper into the forest. She started wondering if she might get lost in the unnaturalness of the Everfree Forest. When she was almost down to full panic, she noticed a trail of candy and frosting. “...Figures...”

Rainbow Dash quickly followed the trail. As she continued to follow the trail. she noticed a light coming closer.

Thats it! Thought Rainbow Dash. THE EXIT!

Rainbow Dash was now running full speed. She was blazing by the trees, rustling the leaves. When she made it past the exit, she noticed a lone figure near the edge of the cliff. She had a dark pink mane and a pink body.

Pinkie Pie!

Rainbow Dash glided over to where Pinkie pie was sitting and landed near her. She was facing towards the edge of the cliff so Rainbow Dash didn’t know if she noticed her there. She was apparently watching the sunset. It was a beautiful site to behold from right here. Why would Pinkie Pie ask to talk when there is a beautiful sunset before them?

“Hay Pinkie! I’m here!” Said Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie quickly turned to face Rainbow Dash with a surprised look on her face. She then proceeded to blush and tilt her head towards the ground. “So...” Said Rainbow Dash trying to break the awkward silence. “What did you want to talk about?” Pinkie Pie then started to blush even harder.

“Um...” Started Pinkie Pie. “Its just something I needed to tell you since yesterday.” Pinkie Pie then patted the ground next to her with her hoof. “Come on; watch the sunset with me.” Pinkie then reposition herself and then turned to face the sunset once more with her legs dangling off the edge of the cliff. Rainbow Dash hovered closer, then sat down next to Pinkie with her legs dangling as well. Rainbow Dash watched the sunset with Pinkie Pie for a couple minutes. She was starting to see why Pinkie was so intently watching the sunset: It was just so breathtaking.

“I don’t know where to begin.” Said Pinkie, which suddenly caught Rainbow Dash off guard. “I guess I should start by telling you, we’ve been friends for a long time.” Pinkie Pie turned her gaze towards Rainbow Dash. “We became even more like friends when we discovered that we both like pranking.” Rainbow Dash smiled.

“Yeah I know, I can’t believe I thought you were just some annoying mare.” Said Rainbow Dash. This caused Pinkie Pie to draw back a bit and become dishearten but she continued anyway.

“Well...Anyway.” Began Pinkie Pie. “After we both found out about this fact, we started hanging out more. We got really close.” Pinkie Pie started to blush but Rainbow Dash hadn't noticed. “Then yesterday happened...” Pinkie Pie got up and trotted away from the edge of the cliff and had her back facing Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash held her gaze on Pinkie.

“What was suppose to be a simple afternoon of pranking turn into me almost falling to my death.” Pinkie Pie moved her head in a way facing the ground. Rainbow Dash inched closer, listening intently.

“But...” Pinkie Pie raised her up towards the heavens. She tilted her head to face Rainbow Dash. “You saved me Dashie...YOU saved me! And when I opened my eyes after I thought I was flattened. Your face was the first thing I saw. Your beautiful face.” Rainbow Dash blushed slightly at that comment and so did Pinkie Pie. “Then I realized something. We have been friends through thick and thin! You have always been there for me. You are always so daring, confident, and so protective of your friends.” Rainbow Dash gave a snicker.

“Pfft! You know it.” Said Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie giggled.

“Anyway.” Said Pinkie Pie. “I had always felt a special connection between us for a long time, but I really felt it yesterday.” Pinkie Pie took Rainbow Dash’s hooves. “I guess what I’m trying to tell you is...Rainbow Dash...I...I...” Pinkie pie closed her eyes and looked away as she spat it out.

“I HAVE A CRUSH ON YOU!” Pinkie Pie was now, blushing as her eyes welled up potential tears. Rainbow Dash was shocked and reeled back.

Pinkie has a crush on me? Thought Rainbow Dash. She couldn’t believe it. She knew that they were close, but not that close. She didn’t even think that her mare friend would want to be, well, her marefriend. And plus, the fact that they are both mares to begin with, made this even more uncomfortable. It was just...unnatural. She kept thinking about it while Pinkie Pie was beating herself up and nearly sobbing. Rainbow Dash finally found the answer and knew what she had to do.

Rainbow fluttered over towards Pinkie Pie and put her hooves up to Pinkie Pie’s face and tilted it towards hers. Their eyes were now facing each other. Pinkie Pie was blushing a deep crimson and turned her gaze away from Dash. Rainbow Dash noticed her blushing.

Has she always blushed when she was around me? She remembered when Pinkie Pie mentioned something about yesterday. I should’ve noticed before.

“Pinkie, look at me.” Said Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie followed Dash’s instructions and turned her head back to the mare of her dreams. “I need to ask you something. Have you always liked mares?” Pinkie Pie shook her head.

“No, just yesterday when I found out about how I felt about you.” Said Pinkie Pie still nervously blushing. Rainbow Dash thought about what she said for a moment then proceeded to ask another question.

“If we did...“Go out,” how would you treat me?” Pinkie Pie was shocked.

“I would treat you like I do now.” Said Pinkie Pie with confidence. “However.” Began Pinkie. “I would try to protect you more. I would always be there for you no matter what.” Rainbow Dash smiled. “I would always treat you, like lovers are suppose to treat eachother. I like you a lot Rainbow Dash. And if we did “go out,” Just know I would always want to spend time with you whenever you need it. Rainbow Dash chuckled.

"That's great to hear Pinkie Pie."

"And there's another point." Began Pinkie. "I would always try my hardest to make you smile and laugh whenever you’re down in the dumps or just depressed.” Pinkie Pie smiled. Rainbow Dash smiled back. “I want you to know who to turn to when you want a silly little happy face instead of a bad little frowny face.” The cyan pegasus and Pink earth pony both started laughing and giggling uncontrollably. Rainbow wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes. Then she finally spoke to Pinkie about her final question.

“Well then.” Said Rainbow Dash. “I have one more question...” She then took Pinkie’s hooves into her own. “...Do you want to go out with me.” Pinkie’s face lit like a lightbulb, no, a christmas tree, no, it was indescribable how overjoyed she. She then jumped in the air and let out a big.

“YES!”

They gave each other a hug and squeezed each other tightly.

“Dashie...”

“Pinkie...”

They then both drew back a little bit and stared into each others eyes. They then inched their mouths closer, and closer and...

“Hay Pinkie! Its time to wake up!”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“WHAT!? WHO?! WHEN?!? WHY?! HOW?!? Said Pinkie Pie as she shot straight out of bed.

Huh? Thought Pinkie Pie while she was recovered from being woken up by the cakes. So its true. I do have a crush on a mare...I have a crush...on a RAINBOW DASH! Pinkie Pie sighed. I never, in a million years, thought that I would even dream of liking a filly. I don’t know what to do with myself anymore.

“Pinkie Pie!” Called Mrs. Cake. “You food is going to go bad if you don’t hurry.”

“Plus.” Added Mr. Cake. “Its your favorite...CAKE!” Pinkie Pie’s face beamed.

“OH BOY!” Shouted Pinkie Pie. “Cake!” As Pinkie started to race down stairs to the kitchen, another thought came to mind.

The cakes sure are caring. Thought Pinkie Pie. They might helped me out in this crazy, messed up predicament. Pinkie Pie then proceeded to go father down stairs when another thought came to mind. But...What if they don’t accept me? What if they don’t let me stay! What if...they hate me? Pinkie Pie sulked her head down. She then picked her head up once more. I’m just going to see how it turns out! Its the only way to solve my problem! And with bravery and uncertainty, she trotted into the kitchen...

Chapter 3: Talking to Cakes *Update*

View Online

As Pinkie walked into the kitchen, she could just the smell the pleasant, delicious aroma of all the different pastries, and their hot, yummy goodness. Pinkie Pie noticed Mrs. Cake was struggling with some dishes and plates, so she trotted over to where Mrs. Cake was to help her. Mrs. Cake heard the sound of trotting and saw Pinkie.

“Hay Pinkie!” Said Mrs. Cake while she was struggling. “Be a dear, aah, and help me put up the, eeh, dishes and plates before I, oof, fall.” as Mrs. Cake finished her sentence, she began to wobble around. Pinkie immediately helped take the plates and dishes off of Mrs. Cake’s hooves and then put them up at super sonic speed. Mrs. Cake then wiped the sweat off her forehead. “Thank you Pinkie Pie.” Mrs. Cake gave Pinkie Pie a hug. Her eyes then shot wide open in realization. “Oh my gosh! Pinkie! Your cake!” Mrs Cake grabbed Pinkie’s hoof and rushed her to her seat. From where Pinkie was sitting, she could see a giant cloth over something possibly a hoof and a half high. Mr and Mrs. cake each stood at one side of the cake.

“Introducing.” Began Mr. and Mrs. Cake in unison. They paused for tension, it was certainly working. Pinkie Pie was literally holding onto her seat in suspense. “Your cake!” They took the cloth off and out revealed a delicious cake with fudge and gummy bears, and whole sorts of other treats.

Now you may be wondering why Pinkie Pie was in suspense when she knew it was a cake. Well, the answer is simple. You see, every weekend, the cakes try out a new cake recipe. They decided that the best way to test new cake recipes was to have Pinkie Pie eat the cake for breakfast. Oh, how Pinkie loved every Saturday. Eating the cake even made her forget about her problem and what she wanted to ask. Absolutely nothing could ruin this moment.

“So Pinkie Pie.” Began Mr. Cake. “What happened yesterday?” Pinkie Pie froze. Except that.

Darn, thought Pinkie. And just when I forgot it.

“I mean.” Continued Mr. Cake. “You did come home a little late. We know because we didn’t see you at all before we went to bed. And we heard your hoofsteps last night. Can you tell us why you were up so late?”

Pinkie thought about this for a moment.

“Okie dokie lokie!” Pinkie replied. So, Pinkie Pie told the cakes about how she set up a prank. How she fell off a cliff. How Rainbow Dash saved her. And finally how Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash helped round the ducks up for fluttershy. However, she neglected to mention that during this time, she started developing feelings for Rainbow Dash as well as failing to mention the dream she had last night. When she was finished the Cakes smiled.

“Well we're just glad to you’re ok.” Said Mrs. Cake.

“We wouldn’t know what we would do if something happened to you.” Said Mr. Cake. “Its great that Rainbow Dash saved you. She is absolutely wonderful.”

“Yes she is.” Said Pinkie Pie out loud which she didn’t intend. Pinkie Pie felt her face heat up in embarrassment.

“Maybe we should bake her a cake! Does that sound like a great idea Pinkie?” Pinkie Pie nodded.

“Yep! Exclaimed Pinkie. “Sounds like the perfect thank you gift to me.” She said as she licked the remaining frosting from her lips.

“Then it's settled.” Said Mrs. Cake. The Cakes walked away while Pinkie thought of something.

I can’t talk about my feelings towards Rainbow Dash while we’re baking! Thought Pinkie Pie. I have to talk to them about this now, or else it will just eat me up inside like how those books that Twilight keeps trying to get me read go. Plus, they deserve to know after all the things they did for me. Pinkie Pie sighed.

“WAIT!” Exclaimed Pinkie Pie. The Cakes turned around to face Pinkie Pie.

“What is it Pinkie?” Asked the Cakes in unison. Pinkie Pie took in a big breath of air.

“I kinda need to talk to you about something before we start baking dashie's cake.” Said Pinkie while she played with her hooves. “Its really important.” Pinkie Pie blushed a deep shade of red. The Cakes trotted closer to Pinkie.

Ok, I can do this. Pinkie thought to herself. Just take another deep breath. Pinkie Pie calmed herself down, she was ready.

“Ok, Mr. and Mrs. Cake.” Began Pinkie Pie. “I...”

“Yes?” Said Mr. and Mrs. Cake together.

“I have a...” Pinkie took one last deep breath and spat it out. “...Have a crush on someone...” The Cakes’ faces beamed. Pinkie blushed heavily.

“Awwww, our little Pinkie winkie has a little crush.” Said Mrs. Cake. The blush on pinkie's face deepened in color.

“M-Mrs. CAKE! You're embarrassing me.” Said Pinkie.

“Oh Pinkie.” Began Mr. Cake. “Their is nothing to be embarrassed about. There is nothing wrong with having a crush on a stallion.” At this, Pinkie lowered her head in disheartenment. “We should celebrate! Me and Mrs. Cake will bake the most delicious cake for you.” Mr. Cake then realized something. “...Right after we bake that cake for Rainbow Dash. No, wait! This is more important. Then again, your life is more important then some crush. But, this isn’t some crush! This is your first crush!” Mr. Cake and Mrs. Cake turned towards Pinkie Pie and asked her the question she had been dreading ever since she woke up.

“Who is the lucky stallion?” Pinkie Pie lowered her head and fiddled with a piece of lint on the ground.

“I have a crush on...” Pinkie Pie began. “I have a crush on...” Pinkie Pie couldn’t seem to get the words out of her mouth. All the pressure kept piling up on her. Add on to the fact that the Cakes were in suspense and she didn’t want to disappoint them, made it all the harder. Everything seem to be pointing at her saying no. She didn’t have to tell them the truth. She could lie and say the name of a stallion like Big Macintosh or Pokey!

NO! Thought Pinkie Pie. Come on Pinkie! Just gotta admit it to yourself first! Ok, I have a crush...

“...On Rainbow Dash...”

The room was hushed. Not a single sound could be heard except the ones outside. The Cakes were are wearing shocked faces and Pinkie was not only blushing madly, but was sulking.

So I guess they do hate me now after all. Pinkie Pie was about to turn around and walk back towards her bedroom to cry for a while, when she was pulled into a group hug by the Cakes.

“Wha!?!" Said a shocked Pinkie Pie. “You...You guys don’t mind that I like...a mare?” Said Pinkie Pie with shame. The Cakes hugged Pinkie tighter.

“Oh, Pinkie dearie, we could never hate you for something like that.” Replied Mrs. Cake. “We can’t control over who you like and don’t like. As long as you are happy Pinkie Pie, we’re happy.” Pinkie Pie smiled and a single tear of joy slid down her face.

“And plus.” Added Mr. Cake. “Rainbow Dash is a kindhearted mare who looks like she would never hurt you, She's a keeper.” Pinkie Pie started giggling uncontrollably.

“Yes, yes she is.” Pinkie Pie smiled again and then pulled the Cakes back into a group hug. And so, they all began to start on baking the two cakes. One for Rainbow Dash for saving Pinkie’s life. And the second one for Pinkie’s newfound crush...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Pinkie Pie and the Cakes were done with, well, the cakes. They set them out.

Rainbow Dash’s cake was a 3 layer cake where all three layers were light blue. In the middle of each layer was a rainbow stripe. And at the bottom and top of each layers was vanilla in the shape of clouds. On the very top of of the cake had Thank You! in the dead center. On each of three layers on the side there was a name. On the bottom layer was Mr. Cake. The middle layer was Mrs. Cake. And on the highest layer was Pinkie Pie with a heart at the end. Pinkie blushed, even though she knew Rainbow Dash wouldn’t understand what the heart really meant.

Pinkie Pie’s cake also had 3 layers. It had hearts on the top of the bottom layer. Flowers on the middle layer. And on the very top was Pinkie’s cutie mark. Of course, being the sugar lover she was, she ate her cake without admiring as much as she probably should’ve.

“Ok Pinkie.” Began Mr. Cake. “Now that you had your cake, its time to deliver this one to Rainbow Dash.” Mr. Cake then gave Pinkie Pie a wink. Pinkie Pie then giggled.

“You got it!” Pinkie Pie said with a smile. Pinkie Pie was heading out the door when she was stopped by Mrs. Cake.

“Um...Pinkie...” Began Mrs. Cake. “Do...your friends know?” Pinkie Pie lowered her head.

“...No...” Replied Pinkie Pie

“Pinkie...you do know you have to tell them sooner or later...right?”

“I know...” And with that Pinkie Pie exited Sugercube corner. Mrs. Cake's words ran through her brain.

I know I have to tell them soon. Thought Pinkie Pie. But, when? And, who first? As Pinkie walked in the direction of Rainbow's house, these thought kept running through her head. Who first...

Chapter 4: Shyness is not a Rarity!

Pinkie pie trotted happily down the road toward rainbow dash's cloud home. The cake her and the Cakes had prepared for the blue Pegasus, was secured safety in a cart she had borrowed from applejack. She was about half way there when she decided it was time for a break. She saw a nice tree where there was a good amount of shade. Parking the cart and unhitching herself was simple and gave her more time to lay back, relaxed, against the tree. She gazed out onto the street and watched the other pony ville-ians go about their daily lives.

Derpy and Dr. Whooves seem to be in a hurry to go somewhere. Pinkie had heard a silly rumor that Derpy and Dr. Whooves have had time traveling adventures in a thing called a Tardis, but that had to be utter nonsense...right?

Pinkie also spotted Lyra and Bon-bon chatting. Those two had been dating for a while. At first ponyville wasn’t very accepting of two mares dating. Even Pinkie’s friends had never vocalized their opinion on what to think of them. This made Pinkie more demoralized about telling her friends.

She then spotted Fluttershy who was, wait, Fluttershy! Fluttershy was here and without any pony else! This is the perfect time to tell her. She is the most kind and caring pony she knows; she couldn’t possibly hate her, she’s perfect to tell first. Pinkie Pie trotted towards Fluttershy but suddenly stopped.

But what if she becomes uncomfortable around me? Thought Pinkie Pie. What if she starts to avoid me because she thinks I’ll start flirting with her? Pinkie Pie started trotting back to the cart to make a clean get away. Fluttershy however, noticed her.

“Hay Pinkie.” Said Fluttershy. Pinkie froze.

Too late! Thought Pinkie Pie. Pinkie slowly turned around to face Fluttershy.

“Um, hay Fluttershy.” Said Pinkie Pie. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh, I was just picking up some carrots for Angel.” Fluttershy looked over Pinkie’s shoulder to see applejack’s cart with a box on top. “Um...whats with the box?” Pinkie Pie looked behind herself, smiled, then faced Fluttershy again.

“Oh...” Said Pinkie nervously “Inside the box is a cake that I’m going to deliver to Rainbow Dash for saving me yesterday.” Replied Pinkie Pie. Pinkie then started giggling and even blushed a little.

“Well, that’s nice.” Fluttershy was about to leave when she had an idea. “Hay, Pinkie, can I come with?”

“Sure.” Answered Pinkie. “But, what for?”

“Oh, I just wanted to see how Tank was doing.”

“Okie Dokie Lokie!" Exclaimed Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy was about to go to Dash’s house when she was stopped by a pink hoof. “But first,” Pinkie spoke with considerably less enthusiasm. “I need to tell you something.”

“Sure Pinkie, what is it?” Responded Fluttershy.

“It's something important. Can we sit under the shade please?” Fluttershy proceeded to follow Pinkie’s instructions and sat down in the shade. Pinkie followed suit. “Fluttershy, before I can tell you what it is, I need to know. Would your opinion of me change if I had something about me that most ponies thought of as immoral?” Fluttershy tapped her hoof to her chin.

“Hmmm...Well, I guess it depends on what this “immoral” thing is.” That was what Pinkie was afraid of.

Great. Thought Pinkie. I'll have to follow my gut and hope for the best.

“Well Fluttershy. I...I...Like somepony.” Fluttershy had a look of confusion on her face. Pinkie Pie was too preoccupied to noticed. She could have sworn she heard the sound of somepony giggling.

"Um, Pinkie.” Began Fluttershy. “That doesn't sound bad. In fact, that actually sounds kinda swe-.” Pinkie however put her hoof to Fluttershy’s mouth.

“You didn’t let me finish, that somepony is...” Fluttershy was drawn in. Pinkie Pie took in a deep breath and tried again. “The pony that I like is...is...” She concentrating all her might in to saying those two simple words. "...Rainbow Dash..." Fluttershy had a predictably shocked look on her face. However, that wasn’t really important because right after that moment, the sound of a bag hitting the ground filled both Pinkie’s and Fluttershy’s ears. They both looked behind the tree to see...

“RARITY!?!” Shouted Pinkie Pie. Rarity was in a panicked state.

“Oh, um hay Pinkie darling.” Said Rarity. “Um, so I was just shopping and in the neighborhood when, um, look over there!” Rarity pointed her hoof and an attempt to fool Pinkie Pie and escape the situation. Pinkie wasn’t fooled though, she quickly galloped at full speed and intercepted Rarity with a tackle. Pinkie Pie held Rarity down in the dirt, with a look of disgust on her face.

“Ugh! Pinkie Pie, get off me!” Ordered Rarity. Pinkie Pie gave her a stern look.

“Not until you promise to not run off so we can discuss this like civilized ponies.” Replied Pinkie.

“Fine Pinkie.” Agreed Rarity. “I promise I won’t run off, now get off.” Rarity continued to struggle, but Pinkie wouldn’t budge. “Pinkie, I already promised.”

“Pinkie Pie swear.” Commanded Pinkie.

“Alright, alright Pinkie.” Said Rarity. Rarity gave out a sigh of embarrassment. “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” Pinkie Pie gave a giggle and got off of Rarity. They all sat back down in the shade.

“Why were you spying on me Rarity?” Asked Pinkie Pie.

“Darling, I was just walking around town getting some shopping done and was just carrying the bags of supplies home when I saw you two talking. I wanted to say hello but it looked like what ever you girls were talking about was important. I was about to just walk away when I heard Pinkie Pie say she liked somepony. I gave a little giggle and before you girls could spot me, I hid behind a tree. That was juiciest thing I had ever heard and you know how I love gossip. However, when you said your crush was on Rainbow Dash, why, I was so shocked I dropped my bags. You pretty much know the rest.”

“So why did you run? Were you planning on spreading it around?” Asked Pinkie with a dejected tone.

“Darling, I would never do that to a friend.” Replied Rarity. “I was just confused and in panic, that i didn’t expect you to say you had a crush on a mare and when you did, I knew I shouldn’t have heard that. To make matters worse, you spotted me and I felt like I shouldn’t have to talk to you at the moment so I fled. I’m sorry if I hurt you.”

Pinkie Pie then let out a sigh. “So, now that you know, what do you think of me liking...a mare?” Rarity thought about this for a moment.

“Whether you like stallions or mares isn’t really important.” Replied Rarity. “As long as you stay the same Pinkie, that's all that matters to me.” Rarity gave her a smile and opened her arms for a hug. Pinkie’s eyes welled up with tears of joy. She accepted the hug happily. Fluttershy thought that it was probably time for her leave, so she started trotting away.

“Hold it.” Said Pinkie. Pinkie Pie stopped hugging Rarity and turned to face Fluttershy. “Whats your opinion on this?” Fluttershy just gave pinkie a smile.

“Oh, I don’t really think its much of a big deal.” Answered Fluttershy. “I mean, I sometimes see two animals of the same gender fall in love. Sometimes they even go as far as to m-Eep!” Squeaked Fluttershy, realizing what she was about to say. Pinkie and Rarity both laughed while Fluttershy’s face lit with crimson. “Sorry, sometimes I get a little too carried away when talking about animals.”

“It's ok Fluttershy.” Reassured Pinkie. “Now, there is one final thing I would like to discuss. None of you can tell anyone else. I have to tell them myself. Is that clear?”

“Crystal!” Responded Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie smiled.

“And you Rarity?”

“I’ll make sure I won’t...on one condition.” Said Rarity.

“A condition?!?” Said Pinkie in disbelief. “Rarity, you are my friend! You should help me out on this without asking for something in retu-.” However, Pinkie was silenced before she could finish by Rarity’s hoof.

“The condition.” Continued Rarity with a grin. “Is that when you two decide to get married. It is I you will turn to for your wedding dresses.” Pinkie Pie giggled and then pulled everypony into a group hug.

“It’s a deal!”

“Now I must be off you two.” Interrupted Rarity during the group hug. “I have to go back home and make sure Sweetie Belle hasn’t done anything to the Boutique. Good luck Pinkie with-” Rarity paused to giggled, “-Rainbow Dash.” Rarity then trotted of away towards her shop. Pinkie got up to hook herself back up onto the cart.

“So, Fluttershy.” Began Pinkie Pie. “You still coming with me to so I can deliver the cake and you can check on Tank?” Fluttershy nodded.

“Yes, plus, I want to see Rainbow’s face when you give her the cake.” They both giggled.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Pinkie and Fluttershy made it to the ground below Rainbow Dash's cloud home, they noticed something. Right below Dash’s house was a fence. In the fence was Rainbow Dash’s tortoise, Tank.

“I’m really going to have to talk to Rainbow Dash for better sleeping arrangement for Tank.” Said Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie gave a laugh.

“Hay Fluttershy.” Said Pinkie. “Can you help me get Dashie down for me?”

“You got it” Fluttershy then flew up to get Rainbow Dash. While she was doing this, Pinkie Pie unhooked herself from the cart and took the box off it. “Rainbow Dash. Pinkie has something for you.” Rainbow Dash shot out of bed.

“A present?” Asked Rainbow. “I’ll be right down.” By the time Fluttershy touched down on the ground, Pinkie had already taken the cake box off from the cart. “OK Pinkie whats this present, it better not be a prank.” Pinkie opened the box and took out the cake inside, presenting it to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow's jaw dropped with a surprised look on her face.

“Do you like it?” Asked Pinkie Pie. “Me and the Cakes made it as a thank you for saving my life.” Pinkie Pie blushed. “I can’t thank you enough.”

“Pinkie” Began Rainbow Dash. “This is beautiful. Thank you.” Rainbow Dash came over and gave Pinkie a warm hug. Pinkie was now heating up to the extreme while she was being embraced by Rainbow. Pinkie suddenly felt a pang of courage while she embraced Dash. Fluttershy giggled.

“So, Rainbow Dash.” Interrupted Fluttershy. “How are you doing with Tank.” Rainbow turned to face Fluttershy.

“I’m taking good care of him Fluttershy.” Answered Rainbow Dash while exiting out of her hug. Pinkie was, of course, upset that she couldn’t hug Rainbow Dash for any longer, but she got over it seeing how she didn’t want to get mad at Fluttershy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After Rainbow Dash finished her cake and discussed her tortoise with Fluttershy, Pinkie decided it was time to go.

“See you later Rainbow Dash.” Said Pinkie as she walked back home with Fluttershy. As the pink pony and yellow pegasus finally were out of ear shot, pinkie finished chatting with Fluttershy. “It is nice to know you don’t hate me Fluttershy. Thanks for understanding.”

“Its no problem at all Pinkie Pie.” Replied Fluttershy. “Just remember that if you need any help, I’ll be there for you.” Fluttershy then hugged Pinkie Pie. After the hug Fluttershy told Pinkie that she would see her later, and waved goodbye. Pinkie had one thought on her mind left.

So, now I have two down with two more to go. Thought Pinkie Pie. Then I’ll be all set to tell Rainbow Dash the truth. Pinkie Pie thought about it for a moment. But should I tell her immediately about it? When would be the perfect time to tell her? When is it just right...

Chapter 5: An Old Friend *update*

View Online

Pinkie Pie woke up the next morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. She walked in front of her mirror, checked herself, then smiled. She gave a little giggle then trotted to the kitchen. She noticed the Cakes were busy preparing to make a batch of cupcakes.

"Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Cake!" Announced Pinkie as she walked into the room. The Cakes turned away from the supplies scattered on the table and faced Pinkie.

"Oh Pinkie." Began Mrs. Cake, "Thank goodness you're awake. We need you to make a batch of cupcakes and a batch of muffins while we are away to get some grocery shopping done."

"Can you do it?" Asked Mr. Cake. "You can count on me!" Answered Pinkie Pie as she gave a quick salute.

"Thank you dearie." Said Mrs. Cake. "We will be home by 9:00pm, alright?" With that, the Cakes walked out the door while waving goodbye. Pinkie Pie trotted over to the recipe that she was supposed to use and picked it up.

"Chocolate cupcakes for Bon-Bon and Lyra." Began Pinkie Pie. "And banana muffins for Derpy." Pinkie Pie smiled and place the note back down on the table. "I'll have these done lickety-split!" Pinkie Pie eagerly hopped around the kitchen, grabbing ingredients.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Around the time the cupcakes were done, the pink pony heard her stomach growl, eliciting a soft giggle.

"Oh no my tummy has the grumblies!" Said Pinkie Pie. "I forgot to eat breakfast anyway. It is the most important meal of the day." Pinkie went over to get her favorite cereal, however, before she could grab it, her tail started a twitchin'. "Uh oh." Exclaimed Pinkie Pie. She quickly jumped out of the way when a familiar cyan Pegasus crashed through the roof. Pinkie Pie looked over the rubble to see Rainbow Dash. "Heya Dashie!" Rainbow Dash regain her posture then faced her friend.

"Hay Pinkie." Replied Rainbow. "Listen, I need to tell you some great news!"

"What is it Dash?" Asked Pinkie. Rainbow Dash paused for dramatic effect.

"I'm giving Gilda a second chance!"

"What!?!" Pinkie Pie blurted out while she reeled back in shock.

"I know," Began Rainbow, "I was shocked too when she sent me a letter saying that she was willing to change if it meant me being her friend again." Rainbow Dash dusted herself off while Pinkie Pie stood there speechless.

Rainbow Dash is trusting Gilda again? Thought Pinkie. This isn't good. That griffon might hurt Rainbow again. Rainbow Dash finished dusting the rubble off and faced Pinkie again.

"Anyway." Continued Rainbow. "Gilda is going to try to reintroduce herself and apologize to all of you guys and I am here to get you." Rainbow Dash then smiled. "By the way, you're the first I've talked to about this." Pinkie Pie's face heated up. "Well, um... thanks Dashie for the news." Pinkie Pie looked back over to the cupcakes.

"Can you hold it off for a little bit? I have to finish baking this batch of muffins." Rainbow Dash shrugged.

"I guess. Just meet us by the bridges." Rainbow prepared to take off. "I promise I'll pay for the hole in your roof." With that, Rainbow Dash flew out through said hole. Pinkie Pie was skeptical about all this. Gilda was one hay of a jerk. Pinkie lifted her head high and went back to making the muffins for Derpy. Nothing bad could come of this...right?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was probably about 2:00pm when Pinkie Pie finished the muffins and made it to the bridge where all her friends were waiting. When she was close enough, her friends all turned to face her.

"Well howdy do sugercube." Said Applejack. "What took you so long?"

"We were starting to get worried." Added Twilight. Pinkie Pie smiled.

"I was just making the cupcakes and muffins for today's customers!" Pinkie Pie trotted up closer to the bridge where she noticed Rainbow Dash was standing atop of. Twilight nudged Pinkie Pie.

"So what do you think this is about?" Twilight asked Pinkie. The pink pony had a confused look on her face but then realized what happen. Rainbow Dash must have only told me about Gilda. Thought Pinkie Pie. She looked at all her other friends to see that they also wondered what Rainbow was about to tell them. Suspicions confirmed. But, why would she not tell the others? Could she... Pinkie Pie slapped herself. She suddenly realized that her friends were watching her...including Rainbow. She started to blush furiously.

"Anyway," Began Rainbow Dash. "I need to tell you all something and you will probably not like it." Rainbow Dash cleared her throat. "Gilda, you can come out now."

"GILDA?!?" Everypony (save for Pinkie), exclaimed in unison. At that moment, the griffon swooped down and landed facing the pony gang.

"Um... hi." Managed Gilda. The response, however, was not so good. Everypony, (excluding Rainbow Dash), glared at her. Gilda was starting to feel uncomfortable. This was Rainbow Dash's cue to step in.

"Look," Began Rainbow Dash. "You all probably think Gilda is still the bully she was when we last saw her." Rainbow Dash turned to face Gilda. "However, she asked for a second chance to change and I'll give her that chance seeing how she was one of my first friends." Gilda smiled. "Now, Gilda, its time to introduce yourself and apologize to my friends." Gilda walked up to the ponies and weakly smiled.

"Hi dw-I mean, everypony." Said Gilda, feeling like an idiot. The ponies were still skeptical. "Look, I'm sorry for the way I acted. Its just that, Dash was one of my only friends. We always tried to act cool in Flight School, and seeing her hang out with a bunch of lo-I mean different ponies made me feel like I was out of place. I thought that she needed to hang more around me then anyone else so she would realize how lame you a-I mean I thought you were. After I left, I realized I had no one left to turn to. I was all alone in the world and I just want a place to belong again. I'm sorry to each one of you." Gilda then faced Pinkie Pie. "I apologize to you especially Pinkie, for telling you to stay away from Rainbow Dash. Can you ever forgive me?"

Can she really change? Pinkie Pie thought to herself. Well...If Dashie can trust her...Then I can too!

"Gilda," Began Pinkie Pie. "I forgive you." Gilda smiled.

"Thank you so much." Said Gilda. She then realized what she said then changed her attitude. "I-I-I-mean, pfft, whatever." Pinkie Pie then gave a giggle.

"Well," Began Applejack. "If Pinkie and Rainbow can trust you. I reckon there isn't a reason why I shouldn't." Applejack then got closer and gave a more stern look. "But, if you ever hurt Rainbow, I'll personally give you a good buckin' or two, ya hear?" Gilda became worried for a second but quickly became calm. "Don't worry," Replied Gilda, "I won't hurt her again. I promise."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pinkie Pie was walking home from that talk with Rainbow and Gilda. It was getting late; the Cakes would be home soon.

"Pinkie Pie, over here!" Said a familiar voice. Pinkie Pie turned to the direction of the voice. "Come here!" Pinkie Pie trotted a little closer, to notice it was Fluttershy.

"Fluttershy?" Said Pinkie Pie. "What are you still doing here? I thought you would have gone to your house by n-"

"Shhh!" Interrupted Fluttershy. "I need to talk to you about something." Pinkie Pie looked confused.

"Well, why could it not wait till morni-"

"It involves your crush." At this Pinkie Pie knew what the yellow mare wanted to talk about.

"You think I'll get jealous...don't you." Fluttershy nodded

"Pinkie...You need to know that Gilda was a very close friend to Rainbow Dash back in flight school. She most likely will hang out with her a lot."

"Is that all you wanted to tell me? Well I'll be going now." Pinkie Pie began trotting away but Fluttershy flew right in front of her.

"Promise me you won't do anything to Gilda to make her stay away from Rainbow Dash." Pinkie Pie smiled.

"Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." Performing all the necessary movements, she smiles at Fluttershy, who smiled back.

"Thank you Pinkie Pie. Now, if you excuse me, I need to go and check on the animals. See you later!" And with that she left. Pinkie Pie continued her walk back home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pinkie woke up the next rushing out the door. She wanted to meet up with Rainbow Dash for a great idea for a prank. She would be able to spend more time with her crush, oh how she felt giddy just thinking about it. She saw Rainbow at the far end of town.

"Hay Dashie!" Said Pinkie Pie cheerily, "You wanna go pranking today?" Rainbow Dash turned around to see Pinkie.

"Oh, hi Pinkie." Said Rainbow Dash. "Listen, I need to catch up with Gilda and..."

Déjà vu. Thought the pink pony.

"And well I was going to go flying with her and see how she's been doing. We can totally hang out some other time ok?"

"Well why can't I come?" Asked Pinkie.

"Well its just seems like I should talk more about what happened...alone."

"Oh, ok then..." Pinkie said slightly crushed. "Well, see you later then..." And with that, Rainbow Dash took off. Pinkie Pie was left all by herself. "I shouldn't let it keep me too down." Said Pinkie Pie more enthusiastically. "I'll just hang out with her tomorrow...for sure!"

Chapter 6: J-E-A-L-O-U-S-! *Edited*

View Online

One day is fine. Pinkie thought to herself as she was looking for Rainbow Dash. Two is ok, but four in a row?!? Pinkie couldn't believe it. It felt like Gilda was more important to Rainbow Dash then her; She didn't like that one bit. Pinkie Pie sulked her head down. Does she even think of me as a friend still? The pink pony raised her head up high.

"I have to stop thinking like that!" She Exclaimed. She then finally spotted Rainbow Dash and trotted up to her. "Hay Dashie!" The cyan pegasus turned to face Pinkie. Rainbow felt a little bit uncomfortable seeing Pinkie Pie every morning and having to say the same thing over again.

"Listen, Pinkie." Began Rainbow. "About today..."

Uh oh. Thought Pinkie.

"...You see I still have some stuff to talk to Gilda about."

Here it comes.

"And It will probably take the whole day again..."

...Fifth.

"...So I won't have time to prank with you."

The feeling of being crushed returns.

"I'll see you later...ok?"And with that, Rainbow Dash took off into the sky. Pinkie Pie started getting really depressed.

Why doesn't she want to hang out with me anymore? Pinkie thought to herself. Is there something wrong with me? Is she avoiding me? The questions just kept pouring into her head. The anger inside her was starting build. The anger then turned to rage. She was just so mad; She needed something to take her anger out on. Then an idea popped into her head.

The only reason why Dashie isn't hanging out with me...Is because she wants to spend time with Gilda...Pinkie Pie gave out a smirk. Which means if I get rid of the griffon pest, Dashie will have to spend time with me. Pinkie then started laughing uncontrollably. Suddenly, Fluttershy's voice popped into her head.

"Promise me you won't do anything to Gilda to make her stay away from Rainbow Dash." Pinkie then went back into her depressed state.

Thats right. Pinkie thought. Fluttershy doesn't want me to get rid of Gilda. She was now faced with a terrible dilemma. Let Gilda and Rainbow Dash hang out more and stay heartbroken, or split up Gilda and Rainbow but betray Fluttershy in the process. What to do...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spike was tidying up the library while Twilight was out with Rarity to find a certain gem to study. He was just organizing the quill and parchments.

"Spike!" Shouted Pinkie Pie. "Can you write a letter for me?" Spike smiled.

"Sure I can." Replied the dragon. Spike snatched up a quill and parchment and was ready to write. Pinkie cleared her throat.

"Dear Gilda,

I am writing to you to tell you how much of a jerk you are. You're are rude, ugly, and its no wonder why no pony wants to be your friend.

No love for you,
Rainbow Dash.

Ps. You are a pain in the a-"

"Rainbow Dash?" Questioned Spike. "Why are you asking me to put Rainbow Dash as the writer? You are the one asking me to write it."

"Well..." Began Pinkie. She stopped to consider her words carefully, the wrong word choice and its all over. "You see Spike, I don't trust Gilda. I think she is going to end up hurting Rainbow Dash again." Pinkie Pie face dropped. "I wanted you to write the letter so that when Gilda read it, she would think Dashie hates her, then leave knowing Rainbow Dash doesn't trust her. I just don't want to see Rainbow hurt." Pinkie then gave her best fake frowny face.

"Is that really what you were planning?" Spike said a little suspicious. Pinkie had a little bit of sweat pouring down.

"Well..."

"I think you are jealous...AGAIN!" Spike answered himself.

"JEALOUS?!?...AGAIN?!?" Spat out Pinkie. "I wasn't even jealous the first time!"

"Sure you weren't." Said Spike sarcastically. "Anyway, this isn't the way to go Pinkie. Trust me, I've been there."

Oh, really? Pinkie thought sarcastically. "Come on Spike! Don't you trust me?"

"I trust Twilight more." Replied Spike. "I'm willing to bet she wouldn't want you to do this. Thus, letter denied!" Spike took both ends of the parchment, then tore it to shreds. Pinkie's eyes widen as she saw what might have been her last chance to spend time with Rainbow Dash literally ripped to shreds.

"Fine...You win..." Pinkie started walking towards the door. "Just do me a favor, don't tell any pony about this, especially not Fluttershy." Spike thought about this for a moment.

"Fine...On one condition!" Spike gave a smiled "You have to get me 10 of those sapphire cupcakes the Cakes made for me." Pinkie gave a smile too.

"Thank you." Pinkie returned to going out the door with her sad expression.

What am I to do now?

"So, why did you want Gilda out of the picture?" Pinkie was snapped out of thoughts as she was right outside Twilight's house. She turned around to see Applejack was leaning against the treehouse with a smirk on her face and her hat covering the top half of her face. The orange equine kicked off the tree and landed with her hat back on the top. "Well Pinkie?" Pinkie started shaking, and it wasn't the twitch.

"Um..." Managed Pinkie. "I-I just wanted to keep Dashie safe from Gilda."

"Well that sounds fine." Pinkie Pie released her breath she didn't realize she was holding. "Now that we got that out of the way." Applejack got a little closer with a more serious look. "Whats the real reason?" To Pinkie, that sounded more like a demand instead of a question. Pinkie sighed.

"...I guess...I was a little jealous."

"A LITTLE jealous?!?" Applejack questioned with disbelief. "Pinkie, you were trying to separate two pals! I hardly call that a little."

"Well you're the one who was spying on me," Pinkie roared. "And you're calling me a bad friend?"

"I was only trying to make sure you weren't doing anything hasty. I can't believe you would even think of pulling something like this." Pinkie lowered her head in shame. "Come to think of it, jealous really doesn't fit the bill. I don't think jealousy is reason enough." Pinkie's eyes widened.

"Um, no, I was definitely jealous." Pinkie spoke in panic. Applejack thought about that for a little bit. She then gave a tiny laugh.

"Well if that was the case, that would mean..." Applejack didn't finish her sentence. She frowned as she realized what was going on. "Pinkie...You don't mean to tell me..." Pinkie nodded her head. Applejack gave out a sigh. "Look, Pinkie Pie, I think you should give up on Rainbow Dash." Pinkie was taken aback by Applejack's comment.

"WHAT?!?" Shouted out Pinkie. "Why would I do that? She's perfect!"

"Its just that, I don't think it would work out." Pinkie glared at her.

"Oh, so you think I'm not good enough for her." Pinkie spat out with rage.

"No, Pinkie! I'm trying to say..."

"You think I'm an idiot don't you? An idiot just because I like another mare."

"Stop putting words in my mouth!"

"I've had enough of this."

"Pinkie! WAIT!" But it was already too late. Pinkie was galloping farther away, tears in her eyes, until she was out of view. Applejack's face was agape as the events of what just happened sank in.

Horseapples...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Why would Applejack say that me?" Said Pinkie to herself. It was the middle of the night and Pinkie could hardly get any sleep. When she got home to Sugercube Corner, she had a lot of explaining to do to the Cakes about why she was crying. The Cakes tried the best they could to try to cheer Pinkie up, but to no avail. She told the Cakes she needed some time alone, they eventually agreed and let Pinkie return to her room. She was thinking about how Applejack had just insulted her like that.

Give up on my Dashie? Thought Pinkie. NEVER! Just because I'm a fillyfooler and she...could possibly not be doesn't mean there is no hope! Pinkie Pie's trademark smile reappeared on her face.

"That's right, I can't give up!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Tomorrow I'll tell my secret to Twilight and everything shall be ok...She will help me out." She then was finally able to sleep. She dreamt a happy dream of her and Rainbow Dash and their future together. Little did she know, her dream future still had a couple bumps to go...Especially involving Twilight.

Chapter 7: Secrets, Secrets, are so Fun!...

Well...Today's the day. Thought the pink pony. After today, all my friends will know. It was most likely the middle of the day. Pinkie had finished all her chores, gave a, "later," to the cakes, then left. She was determined to tell Twilight and nothing would stop her.

"I brought you a letter!" Sang Derpy.

"Huh?" Pinkie gave a quick spin in the other direction. Derpy was holding a letter with her same goofy, yet adorable, expression. Unfortunately, Pinkie didn't have time for this. "Sorry Derpy, but I have other things to deal with."

Derpy's glee faded. "Oh, ok." Replied Derpy. "I'll just return this letter to Rainbow Dash..." Pinkie froze in place.

"D-Dashie?"

"Yeah, it says:

Send to Pinkie Pie,

From Rainbow Dash."

Derpy was about to take off, but Pinkie Pie tackled her with a big hug and nuzzle.

"Oh thank you, thank you Derpy!" Said Pinkie in between nuzzles. Pinkie picked the letter from Derpy and began opening the letter. Pinkie cleared her throat, then read.

Dear Pinkie Pie

Gilda will be returning home later today. We will finally have time to spend together! Isn't that AWESOME! Anyway, please meet me at the park tomorrow at 7:00 P:M.. Get ready to have some pranking fun!

Sincerely,
Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie Pie couldn't believe it.

Dashie was actually going to visit me... The pink pony couldn't hold it in any longer. She rocketed into the air and exploded with joy.

"YES!" Pinkie shouted. "She's finally going to spend time with me!" All the ponies that were there at the moment were looking at Pinkie Pie funny, but she was too much of a joyous mood to care. "Oh Derpy, thank you for giving me this let-." When Pinkie turned to face Derpy, she was not there. "...Oh well! I guess a mail mare's work is never done huh?"Pinkie Pie looked at the clock tower. "Its 3:00 P.M. right now...Its time to go see Twilight." Pinkie started headed towards the library. "And then I will meet up with Rainbow Dash tomorrow..."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey Twilight, I found the Daring Doo book you said was for Rainbow Dash." Announced Spike. Twilight turned from her book and gave a smile.

"Thank you Spike," Twilight said. "Rainbow Dash will surly be happy about this." Knock, knock, knock. "Hang on spike, someone's at the door." Twilight opened the door to reveal a somewhat nervous Pinkie Pie.

"Hi Twilight." Began Pinkie. "I need to talk to you about something."

"Sure!" Replied Twilight. "Me and Spike are always happy to help."

Pinkie blushed. "Uh, a serious talk." Twilight had a confused look on her face. Pinkie Pie put a hoof to her face knowing full well that Twilight wouldn't get it anytime soon. Pinkie Pie let out a sigh. "Just get Spike out of here." Twilight quickly shoed Spike away.

"Well now that we got that out of the way," Spoke out Twilight. "Lets talk over tea..."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Twilight was just finishing making her own tea and, being the proper host she was, finished Pinkie Pie's tea before her. They both sat down at a table and began to talk.

"So," Began Twilight as she sipped her tea. "What do you want to talk about?"

Pinkie was a little nervous. I don't know about this. Thought Pinkie Pie. What if she ends up hating me like Applejack? Twilight noticed how unsure Pinkie was. She took another sip then asked Pinkie a question.

"Is something wrong Pinkie?" Pinkie turned to face Twilight then shot her a reply.

"Can I answer your question, with another question?" Twilight shrugged.

"I don't see why not."

"Can you keep a secret?"

Twilight frowned. "Um, Pinkie, you know the answer to that question." She was right, Pinkie did know the answer. Unfortunately, she didn't like it. The fact of the matter is, she was a horrible secret keeper. She actual put her head in a plant pot to avoid spilling the beans of her friends secrets, then went on to reveal Spike's in front of a random pony. The real question was, could she trust Twilight to keep this secret?

"You know what Twilight, you need to know." Pinkie said. Twilight took another sip of her tea with a worried expression on her face.

"If you say so." Said Twilight. Pinkie took in a deep breath. Before Pinkie spoke, Twilight took a small drink of the tea.

"I'm in love with Rainbow Dash." At this, Twilight's eyes widened and she barely avoided doing a spit take.

"Pinkie Pie, you like mares?" The pink pony just slowly nodded her head. "Well, I can surely see why you wanted Spike out of the room." Twilight jokily. Pinkie Pie smiled.

"So you are not mad?"

"Mad? Why would I be mad? Pinkie if I learned anything about friendship, it's that you should always be accepting of your friends." Twilight then gave another smile.

"Oh thank you Twilight! It's good to know at least four of my friends are accepting."

Twilight frowned. "Four? Not all our friends approve?"

Pinkie Pie let out a sigh. "It was Applejack, when she found out, she said I should give up on Rainbow Dash."

Twilight gasped. "Oh Pinkie thats awful!" Twilight said trying to comfort her. "Tell you what, I will go to Applejack tomorrow and set her straight."

"Thanks again Twilight." With that, Pinkie pulled Twilight in a warm, friendly, embrace. She then waved goodbye and left.

Just think, thought Pinkie, tomorrow, everything will be better!...

That was such great time with Gilda. Thought Rainbow Dash as she was flying back to Ponyville. I'm pretty sure that right there makes up for an apology. Rainbow Dash saw the outskirts of Ponyville and glided all the way 'til she touched the ground. She gave her wings a shake and then folded them back up. She then walked towards the designated area where she told Pinkie to meet up with her.

"Pssh," Came a voice. "Hey you, Rainbow hair!" Rainbow Dash looked around for her insulter with an irritated look.

"Where are you?" Rainbow Dash said. "I'll show you what happens when you mess with me!"

"Shimmer down hothead." Said another voice. Dash was finally able to pinpoint the voices. It turned out the voices were coming from the garden trio: Daisy, Lily, and Rose. The Rainbow hair remark came from Rose while the hothead remark came from Lily.

"Besides calling me names," Rainbow Dash replied, "What do you want?"

"We were just wondering how it would be going with you and Pinkie." Responded Daisy. They all started to give little snickers which made Rainbow raise an eyebrow.

"You mean you don't know?" Asked Rose. Rainbow Dash gave a frown.

"Why? Is there something wrong with Pinkie Pie?"

"Not Physically or mentally." Replied Daisy. "I guess its up to you to decide." Rainbow Dash was confused now.
What could be wrong with Pinkie? Rainbow Dash thought as she listened to what they had to say...

Pinkie Pie was cheerful today. Actually, that would be an understatement of just how happy Pinkie was as she made her way to the park. The park seemed extra busy today; it was full of activity. It took her some time but she finally found Rainbow Dash. She kinda seemed uneasy for some reason but Pinkie didn't worry about it to much.

"Hay Dashie!" Pinkie exclaimed. Rainbow Dash looked over at Pinkie.

"Oh...hi Pinkie." Rainbow Dash replied. Pinkie frowned.

"Don't tell me you are ditching me again." Rainbow Dash smiled.

"Heh, you know I always keep my promises Pinkie." A couple ponies started snickering. Rainbow's smile faded. Pinkie raised an eyebrow, but then decided to go with the day.

"So, what's this super awesome prank you got set up this time?" Rainbow Dash revealed a book that was behind her. The tittle on the book was called, The Ultimate Pranks: For Pranking Experts.

"The Daring Doo series has got me interested in other books as well." Said Rainbow Dash. "So I decided to look around Twilight's library and came across this bad boy." Rainbow was trying hard not to get to intimidated by some of the other ponies looking at her and Pinkie.

"Sounds like fun, lets do this!..."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was the beginning of the night and Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were laughing all the way back to Sugercube corner.

"Do you remember that time," Laughed Rainbow Dash, "when Lyra and Bon-bon were chasing us?

"Or that time," Pinkie laughed, "when that one pony had milk shot out of his nose?"

"Yeah, I can't believe I was worried about those rumors concerning you." Pinkie stopped and went wide-eyed.

"...Rumors." Rainbow Dash froze.

"Oh Celestia..." The ponies that were still awake and up about were gathering 'round.

"Yeah, I heard something interesting about you two." Said a bystander pony.

"I heard you two were fillyfoolers." Said another bystander with a snicker. Rainbow Dash got mad.

"For your information," Rainbow began. "The rumors are not true, and we are not fillyfoolers, right Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow Dash turned to face Pinkie who was inching backwards while looking towards the ground. "Right, Pinkie?"

"See, even if Rainbow Dash isn't one, Pinkie sure is." Said yet another bystander. "She is probably in love with her." Rainbow started panic.

"S-stop it!" Began Rainbow Dash. "Stop torturing Pinkie Pie and let her go." Rainbow then faced Pinkie again. "C'mon Pinkie you don't love me do you? Tell them the truth." Pinkie wanted to scream. She was surrounded by ponies making fun of her. She couldn't take it anymore.

"The truth is," Began Pinkie, "I do...I do love Rainbow Dash..."

Everypony in the crowd gave a huge gasp. They were shocked indeed by this revelation of Pinkie Pie's crush on Rainbow Dash. However, no one was as shocked as the rainbow maned pony herself.

"B-b-b-W-h-What!?!" Managed Rainbow Dash. "Y-y-you do l-l-like me?" Pinkie lowered her head in shame.

"Well..." Began Pinkie Pie. "...Yeah, I do Dashie." Rainbow Dash cringed at that nickname. The crowd started murmuring to each other. Pinkie tried to desperately hide herself. Rainbow stared at Pinkie with disbelief.

"You mean...all this time I known you," began Dash, "you've been crushing on me?" Pinkie Pie shook her head.

"No, well..." Began Pinkie Pie. "I certainly didn't notice it until you saved me that one time." Pinkie Pie then gave a giggle. Rainbow Dash drew back with a blush. The crowd's whispers were getting louder. Both ponies were getting a scared of what the crowd would do. Pinkie Pie cleared her throat and prepared to speak. The crowd fell silent. "So D-..." Pinkie stopped herself to avoid making Rainbow Dash as uncomfortable as she was already. "...Rainbow Dash. Now that you know how I feel...Maybe we could..." Rainbow stopped Pinkie with her hoof.

"I'm sorry Pinkie," Rainbow Dash interrupted, "but my door doesn't swing that way" Pinkie got on her hoofs and knees.

"Please Rainbow." Pinkie begged. "Just one date to see what its like."

"No, Pinkie. Never!"

"Please!" Rainbow Dash couldn't take it anymore.

"Enough!" Rainbow Dash shouted. She spread her wings out and took off away from the crowd and Pinkie Pie to fend for herself.

"Dashie!" Pinkie scream. Pinkie charged towards the direction Rainbow was heading, however she was knocked back by the angry crowd.

"We don't need a filly-fooler like you around here." Said one pony of the angry crowd.

"You are sick you know that." Came out another.

"I don't want to walk around the streets of Ponyville worrying if another mare likes me." Said a mare. The ponies were gathering closer and closer to Pinkie. She couldn't do anything and she closed her eyes, waiting for the pain. However the pain never came.

"GAHHHH!" Roared a couple of ponies.

Pinkie Pie opened her eyes to see a couple ponies lying on the ground in huge pain. All the other ponies were stepping back away from the ponies that did this.

"You have a problem with filly-foolers?..."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rainbow Dash was crying as she flew away, she didn't know where, just away. She eventually found a safe place where she could be alone and decided to rest there. She looked around and quietly sat on a stomp to slightly sob..

"Why Pinkie," Sobbed Rainbow Dash. "We were doing so well as friends...why did you have to ruin it by liking me and stuff."

"It's not actually ruined you know." Spoke out a voice with a country accent. The cyan pegasus recognized that voice instantly.

"Applejack?" Rainbow Dash asked. The pony walked forward and sure enough, it was Applejack. "What are you doing here and how did you fid me?" Applejack gave a chuckle.

"Well, first off, this is Sweet Apple acres and I'm getting some last minute apples," She said as she bucked a tree, "And second, I could hear you sobbing a mile away, and I recognized those sobs a mile away." Applejack gave a smile. Rainbow Dash continued to frown. Applejack put her hoof on Rainbow's shoulder.

"Well Applejack," Began Rainbow Dash, "You should know perfectly well that I am right." Now it was Applejack's turn to frown.

"So I had a small crush on ya'," Applejack said, "Big whoop. It's not like you have to worry about it anymore. I have already given up on liking mares." Applejack turned to face Rainbow in the eyes with an angry expression. "Besides, I wasn't the one who turned me down when I asked for one simple date." It was Rainbow's turn to be mad.

"I told you, I don't like mares."

"Well, you could've given me a chance!" Applejack reached for her hat, then threw it at the ground near Rainbow Dash causing her to take a step back and shut her mouth. Applejack was staring at the ground breathing heavily. "And you want to know the worst part Rainbow Dash? It's fine when you hurt me, but you ended up hurting a more innocent pony: Pinkie Pie." Rainbow Dash looked like she was hit with a sharp jab when Applejack finished that sentence. She tried to hide her face from Applejack, hiding her tears.

"There is a reason I don't want to date other mares Applejack." Rainbow Dash said in between sniffs. "You see, back in flight school, I...I...I..."

"Rainbow, you can tell me anything, you know that." Assured Applejack. "I promise I won't laugh." Rainbow Dash slowly nodded, and with a quick gulp, she began again.

"You see, I kind of..." She took a deep breath, then spoke, "had a crush on a mare." Applejack managed to not laugh, but her eyes did widen. Rainbow Dash continued. "She was very beautiful, she had this poofy yellow mane, and this, smooth white coat." Rainbow Dash let out a smile. "She was the most amazing pony I ever dated. For a beautiful mare, she had a beautiful name…Surprise."

Applejack raised an eyebrow. "…Rainbow Dash? Aren't you 'pose to be letting it out? Why would you want save the name for a surprise?"

At this, Rainbow Dash burst out laughing. "No Applejack," Giggled Rainbow, "Her name was Surprise."

Applejack blushed, then gave a snort. "Wait...So you actually dated this mare?"

Rainbow Dash nodded her head. "Yeah, and things were going great! It was a secret to Everypony." Rainbow Dash's smile faded and was replaced with sorrow. "But then...I made the mistake of asking for more."

Applejack let out a short gasp. "Oh..."

Rainbow let out a sigh. "I was young, I was foolish. She became afraid of me. Called me a real filly-fooler." Rainbow Dash's tears started to well up again and she started to have a harder time with her sentences again. "I begged her not to tell anypony, but the next day, Everypony laughed at me, and called me a filly-fooler over and over." Rainbow Dash's tear were now streaming down her face. Applejack was beginning to feel bad not knowing how to help this poor Pegasus.

"So Rainbow Dash." Began Applejack. "The reason you don't date mares...is because one hurt you in the past?" Rainbow Dash nodded her head, and then wept harder and harder. Both Applejack and Rainbow Dash didn't know how long she was crying for, but all that matter was she let it out. Applejack refused to speak until she was sure that the cyan Pegasus was able to continue. The only thing that could be heard on the farm was Rainbow's sobs. Applejack prayed to Celestia that none of her family would ruin the Pegasus’s intervention. Luckily, she gave one last sob, and it was Applejack's time to speak again.

"Look Rainbow, I know its hard, but Pinkie really cares for you."

Rainbow Dash sighed but then gave a smile. "I know…Hay, maybe I can make it up to her. "

Applejack raised an eyebrow. "And how in the hay are you going to go about doing that?"

Rainbow Dash started beating her wings to the point she was hovering. "Its a secret."

And with that she zipped off into the night leaving the dazed Applejack dumbstruck.

"Rainbow Dash…I hope you realize the right decision before its to late."
