Pinkie Pie, the self-proclaimed best duelist of Canterlot High, seems to keep getting herself and her friends into conflicts that can only be resolved by trading cards. So zip the lip and let the cards rip!
Across the town of Canterot and beyond, Duel Monsters has taken over the world. In this world, if you're a capable duelist, you can do almost anything. It's all about high stakes and fast paced duels and if you can't handle it, then you won't get far.
Pinkamena Diane Pie, or just Pinkie Pie, is an up-and-coming duelist at Canterlot High and also resident magnet for over the top scenarios that end up with her rocking a deck. Her and her friends will have to navigate a whirlwind of card games, thrills, and...duel spirits? Death Games? Wait, what about saving the world?! What happened to just playing cards!?
It was a sunny day in Canterlot as a pink-haired girl ran down the sidewalk, piece of toast dangling in her mouth. She had a curvy build, blue eyes darting from left to right as she analyzed everything around her as she ran as though her school career depended on it. Tan skin that, by now, was glistening from sweat, with an alligator-plush backpack hanging on her shoulders. She'd normally would've had a much bigger breakfast, but if she didn't put on the gas, she'd be late for school! She was usually up earlier since she lived on the other side of town, but it seemed like just one of those days for Pinkie Pie.
("That's me! Pinkamena Diane Pie! But everyone calls me Pinkie Pie!")
"'Scuse me! Pardon! Coming through!" She had a well developed body, and she couldn't help but curse at how her D-Cup breasts were probably slowing her down. The young lady hopped over cars in traffic, slid under a bench, and swung on a branch overhead to avoid running right into a baby in their carriage, munching on her toast as she dashed in her school uniform; a white shirt and red tie underneath a black button-up blouse and skirt, topped with a red blazer. Her mary janes were hitting the ground as she ran in her white, knee-high socks.
("Boy, with how much I ran that day, I started to consider taking up track!")
She came to screeching halt as she reached the front of her school, panting as sweat rained down to the ground below. She was hunched over, hurriedly scarfing down her toast as she gave a sad groan. "I didn't even have time to butter it..." After her sad whimper, she started to pull herself up and stand as tall as possible. "Oh well, I hope I have something stashed in my locker." She started to head up the steps of the school before she heard something; voices? Yeah, people were talking nearby!
Ever the social butterfly, Pinkie Pie looked to the source. Nobody, but she heard people talking. In fact, they still were! She began to follow the sound of talking and noticed they were just beyond the corner. By now, she was starting to better understand what was being said and she could see a group of students gathered around the side of the school, crowded around what looked like a duel.
The students she was now standing behind had a trembling hand as she fumbled to hold her Duel Monster cards. She was a shorter girl, almost a foot shorter than the 5'10 Pinkie Pie, with wider hips and skin only a shade or two darker than Pinkie's own tan. Sapphire hair with violet and magenta streaks running down in, and Pinkie could see she was wearing a pair of glasses and the same uniform she was in. She couldn't properly see her duel disk or face, but she had nothing on her field and her lifepoints were at 500.
The other girl, she certainly recognized as Merry May; she was 5'8 and had fair skin and a curvaceous build, flowing plum-colored hair with magenta streaks running through it, pink eyes staring Twilight down as she smirked. She had 4000 Lifepoints and her own field had an elf-like creature in purple armor, holding an intricate, rust-colored staff.
"Now, Ancient Elf, attack Twilight Sparkle directly!" Ancient Elf pointed the orb on his staff at Twilight. "Spark Flash!" The Elf then fired a bright flash of light that consumed Twilight-and Pinkie by proxy. Twilight stumbled back, crying out as her lifepoints hit zero and bashed into Pinkie Pie, landing right on top of her.
"Ugh..." Twilight whimpered as she tried to get off of the oddly soft ground. When her hand gripped at something plump, yet familiar, her face turned red. She pushed her glasses up and rubbed at her eyes underneath before looking down and seeing the dazed Pinkie Pie below. "ACK!" She jumped off of Pinkie Pie, who groaned and began to sit up. "Wh-where did you come from?!"
Pinkie started to rub at her eyes, "well, when a mommy and daddy love each other very much-"
"Not that!"
The pink-haired girl giggled, "why are you the one upset? I was the one who was felt up." Twilight Sparkle was about to object, but she noticed she had dropped the cards she was holding.
"AAAH!" Twilight sprang from the ground and tried to collect her cards, but one of them was quickly swiped up by Merry May, who looked it over. "W-wait a second!"
"Oh, the Dark Magician Girl. This is a pretty good card" A smirk was on her face as she revealed the card to Twilight-and Pinkie-as she smirked. "I think I'll b taking this one."
"W-what?!" Twilight looked horrified, the color draining from her face.
"Hey, that's the rule here~" Merry sang, "when you lose a duel, you gotta give up a card." Twilight looked to the crowd, who didn't seem to really supply with any support for or against her. She was starting to fall into a panic, trying desperately to form a sentence, but nothing would come out but sounds that couldn't form words. "Oh, come on, if you wanna win it back, you just gotta beat me in another duel."
"Hmm," Pinkie stood up off of the grass, "gee, I don't remember that being a rule." Merry looked at Pinkie Pie with a glare, but she was oblivious to it. "But, you know Merry, if you're desperate for new cards, you could've just asked me to spot you for a booster pack or two." Her smile grew bigger as Merry's face was red with anger.
("Now, in hindsight, I guess what I said was a little mean, but it's not like I was trying to be a bully or anything! I really would've given some cards if she asked!")
"Shut up, balloon tits!" Merry huffed as she tucked the Dark Magician Girl into her blazer pocket.
"Hey, can I duel too?" Pinkie asked, "I've never done an 'Ante Duel'!" She was practically bouncing with excitement, jumping up and down and the crowd behind Merry May was cheering excitedly.
Merry growled, "okay, fine. I guess you just want the stupid Dark Magician Girl card, huh?"
"Yupper-roo!" Pinkie smiled as she took off her alligator backpack and dug around. "Hmm, now which deck should I use...maybe this one?" She pulled out a deck box, but quickly shoved it back in. "Nah, how about this one?" She pulled another out, but shoved it back in within another second. This kept up for almost a minute, with Twilight watching in astonishment.
"Hey! We don't have all day!" Merry shouted, catching Pinkie's attention. "Since this is an Ante Duel, you gotta give up a card that's just not, if not, rarer then the Dark Magician Girl."
"Oh, yeah." Pinkie just pulled out a card and showed it to Merry. "How's this?"
"WH-WHA-WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" Merry's jaw hit the floor as she looked at the card Pinkie was sporting: the impossibly rare and elusive Chaos Emperor Dragon!
"Not good enough?"
"IT'S PERFECT!"
"H-HOLD IT!" Twilight shouted as Pinkie grabbed a duel disk out from her backpack-which seemed impossible since the backpack looked too small to hold all those deck boxes, let alone a duel disk. "Y-you can't just gamble a card like that away just for me! I don't even know you!"
"Oh, well, my name is Pinkie Pie. I'm a senior, 18 years old. My hobbies include long walks on the beach, binge eating sweets, and-"
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!"
"Don't you want your card back?" Pinkie popped her deck into place as she tilted her head, confused by Twilight's sudden shout.
Twilight got ready to shout again, but she looked down at her shoes. "I-I do...that card is important to me; more important then anything in the world." She bit her lip, "but...but I can't just ask you to risk throwing away a possibly one-of-a-kind card just for me when I just met you almost a minute ago. It's my own fault for losing it anyway..." Merry May, was drawing her opening hand.
"Well, too bad." Pinkie giggled, patting Twilight on the back, "I want to do it! If that card is super duper important, then I'm gonna get it back for you!" Twilight was about to say something, but she noticed Pinkie's soft eyes sharpen and a wide smirk come onto Pinkie's face. A sudden 'air' came around Pinkie as she picked up seemingly one card and unfolded it to show five. "Besides, if there's one thing I don't like, it's bullies."
"DUEL!"

"Sorry for the hold up, I'l go first." Pinkie grinned, "and I'll start things off by playing a monster in defense mode and ending my turn." Pinkie placed a card face-down on the field and a projection of a large, face-down card on the field, horizontally.
Pinkie's Hand: 4
"...That it?"
"That's right!"
Merry rolled her eyes and drew. "Fine, whatever. It's my turn then and I play the Ritual Spell Card: Earth Chant!" A sword-like marking appeared over Merry's side of the field. "This is a special Ritual Spell which enables me to Ritual Summon any Earth-Attribute Ritual Monster from my hand, but I must tribute monsters that equal its level exactly." She dug through her hand, "I send Red-Eyes B. Dragon from my hand to the graveyard!" She ditched the card from her hand to the graveyard, the black dragon appearing over the marking on the field and it began to disappear into dust and a hole opened up underneath.
"Ancient beast, bred for battle, it's time to bare your fangs and rend your foes to pieces. Arise, Level 7! Super War-Lion!"
A humanoid, anthropomorphic lion with a long, red mane jumped out of the hole just as it began to close. He gave a loud roar into the air as he showed his claws.

"That's a big kitty." Pinkie giggled.
"Now, Super War-Lion, attack! Wild War Swipe!" Super War-Lion pounced onto the face-down card. A small, lion-like monster with flower petals around its neck appeared, holding its hands defensively, just as the War-Lion, swung his claw and tore the monster into petals.
"That monster was my Dandylion. And with him destroyed, I get to special summon two Fluff Tokens." Two giant dandelion seeds appeared on Pinkie's field, one looking happy, and the other pouting.

"Aw, how cute." Merry's voice had a mocking tone in it, "but whatever. I'll set two cards and end my turn." She had set two cards facedown on her duel disk as two large cards were set vertically, behind her Super War-Lion.
Merry's Hand: 1
"Draw!" Pinkie's turn came around and she drew her next card. "Alrightie, watch this! I activate the effect of Quickdraw Synchron from my hand: by sending one monster card from my hand to the graveyard," Pinkie set a card to the graveyard, "I can special summon him in attack mode!" A light blue robot-like monster appeared next to the Fluff Tokens, wearing cowboy boots, hat, and a red, tattered cape.

"A-a tuner?!" Twilight gasped as the Synchron monster hit the field.
"That's right, but I'm not done yet. Cause now, I summon Quillbolt Hedgehog!" A little yellow hedgehog popped up next to Quickdraw, covered in screws instead of quills.
ATK/800 DEF/800
"Uh-oh..." Merry said with eyes wide, "this isn't good..."
"And now, I tune my Level 5 Quickdraw Synchron with my Level 2 Quillbolt Hedgehog and Level 1 Fluff Token!" Pinkie said as her monsters jumped into the air. Quickdraw exploded into a collection of five green rings that surrounded the pouty token and hedgehog. Quillbolt Hedgehog exploded into two stars and the Fluff Token into 1.
"Clench your iron fists and demolish the walls in front of you! Synchro Summon! Let's go, Junk Destroyer!"
He fell from above and landed behind Pinkie Pie, a giant robot that seemed to loom over the two duelists and Twilight. A black frame with four arms, with golden trim and trident-like crown upon his face. An orange light illuminated from his chest as he flexed his arms triumphantly.
ATK/2600 DEF/2500
"And now that he's hit the field, my Destroyer's effect activates: for each synchro material that was used to summon him, I get to destroy one card on your field."
"Before that effect activates, I trigger my trap: Breakthrough Skill!" Merry May activated one of her facedowns, flipping it and revealing it. "This will negate your Synchro Monster's effect. And next, I also trigger Curse of Anubis! This will force your Junk Destroyer into defense mode and you won't be able to change his position. And for the rest of the turn, his defense and 0."
The sound of shattering glass came from the giant machine as he began to take a knee, pulling up his four arms for a crossguard. His color then began to mute, becoming monochrome.

"Well that sure is unfortunate, but it looks like my War-Lion is safe." Merry said with a cocky smirk, but Pinkie was still smirking herself.
"Nice try, but this was all according to plan!"
"It is?!" Twilight gasped.
("It so wasn't, but they didn't need to know that!")
"Yup!" Pinkie said, "cause now, I'll tribute my Destroyer to special summon Turret Warrior!" Junk Destroyer turned to pixels as a tall, grey-like machine with castle turrets for arms and legs formed behind Pinkie Pie.

"Wait, why would you sacrifice Junk Destroyer for a much weaker monster?" Twilight asked as she looked over Pinkie's shoulder at her duel disk.
"Cause when Turret Warrior is summoned this way, his attack points increase by Junk Destroyer's original attack points."
"B-but that was 2600!" Merry May gasped Turret Warrior's attack increased.
Turret Warrior's ATK: 3800
"That's incredible!" Twilight's jaw had dropped, "you summoned an amazingly powerful card so quickly!"
"Yeah, that's kind of how this game works." Pinkie giggled before turning back to the duel. "Turret Warrior, attack with Castle Bombardment!" Turret Warrior's...turrets then fired down upon Super War-Lion, showering it in bullets before it exploded to pixels.

"And with that, my turn ends."
Pinkie's Hand: 1
Merry May was growling as she drew her next card. "I play Graceful Charity! Now I draw 3 cards and discard two." She then did just that, leaving her hand size at two. "I'll set one card face down and a monster in defense mode. That's it from me." With the two cards set on the field, her turn was up.
Merry's Hand: 0
"Draw!" Pinkie was grinning giddily. "I summon Max Warrior!" A man in brown armor, with a grey cape and giant tuning fork appeared on Pinkie's field.
ATK/1800 DEF/800
"Max Warrior, attack Merry's monster! Max Charge!" Max Warrior raised his large fork and dashed forward. Appearing from the facedown card on Merry's field was the Giant Soldier of Stone; a literal giant warrior carved from solid rock. Pinkie smirked, "when Max Warrior attacks a monster, he gains 400 attack points during the Damage Step."
Max Warrior's ATK: 2200

"Of course he does..." Merry groaned as Max Warrior stabbed the giant rock monster, causing it to explode into smaller rocks. She covered her face with her duel disk to protect herself from the falling rocks.
"After attacking, Max Warrior becomes a Level 2 and his attack and defense becomes half until my next Standby Phase."
Max Warrior: ATK/900 DEF/400
"And now, I attack with Turret Warrior!" Turret Warrior then pointed his cannons at Merry.
"Oh fu-" She was then showered with rapid fire bullets, kicking up a small dust storm as she held up her arm to protect herself.
Merry's Lifepoints: 2700
"And that's my turn!"
"Oh no it's not!" Merry shouted, "during your End Phase, I play Necro Fusion!" The trap revealed itself, leaving the crowd to gasp.
Pinkie gave a gasp herself, "Necro Fusion?!" Then she blinked, "wait, what does that do?"
"Well, it allows me to Fusion Summon monsters by first banishing the material from the graveyard." Merry then pulled two cards from the graveyard as the Red-Eyes B. Dragon appeared on her field as a ghost, as well as a large, molten rock. "So I banish my Red-Eyes along with my Meteor Dragon!"
"H-how'd that get there?!" Twilight gasped.
"I ditched it back when I used Graceful Charity." The two ghostly monsters then began to swirl around each other.
"Ebony dragon with crimson eyes, fiery dragon from the stars above. Combine your powers and show your true potential! Arise! Meteor B. Dragon!"
A hulking dragon then crawled out of the ground, his scales purple and covered in molten rock. Gave a guttural roar as lava pooled around his legs, scythe-like wings spreading out.

"That can't be good..." Twilight whimpered.
"Aw, don't worry, Twilight. He's still a few points short of beating Turret Warrior." Pinkie looked back, smiling to reassure the glasses-wearing Twilight, who gave a slow nod back to her. "I've got everything under control."
("I didn't.")
"Draw." Merry drew her next card. "This is just what I need! I play Pot of Greed!" A green pot with a large grin appeared on Merry's field.
"Huh?" Pinkie scratched her head, "what does that do?"
"It lets me draw two cards." Merry then drew the two cards as the pot vanished. "Perfect. Now, I play United We Stand!" An yellowish-orange glow came around Meteor B. Dragon as he roared again. "This gives Meteor B. Dragon 800 attack points!"

"But that's not all! Cause next, I active Scapegoat! This gives me four Sheep Tokens!" Merry smirked a four, multicolored sheep appeared on her field, looking quite content. "And thanks to United We Stand, for each monster on my field, Meteor B. gains another 800 for each. So that's an additional 3200!"

"...Okay, so I may not have everything under control."
"NOW YOU TELL ME?!"
"Meteor B. Dragon, attack Turret Warrior! Meteor Blast Attack!" The meteor dragon opened his mouth as it formed a molten ball of rock and spewed it at Turret Warrior, blowing it to molten scrap that rained around Pinkie.

"Wowie! That was a cool combo!" Pinkie smiled, stars in her eyes.
"P-Pinkie, this isn't the time to be admiring her!" Twilight cried.
"Don't worry, Twilight." Pinkie smirked, "this duel isn't over yet!"
Merry's Hand: 0
"My turn! Draw!" Pinkie drew her next card as she examined her hand. "Standby Phase: Max Warrior's stats return to normal and I'll switch him to defense mode." Max Warrior held his tuning fork in front of himself as he bent the knee. "I'll set one card face down and end my turn."
Pinkie's Hand: 1
"Draw!" Merry smirked, "oh yeah. I play Fairy Meteor Crush!" Meteor B. Dragon gained a reddish glow. "Now that it's equipped to my dragon, he gains a piercing effect!"
"That's right!" Merry pointed her finger at the Fluff Token, who suddenly looked terrified. "Meteor B. Dragon, attack that Fluff Token and end this duel!" Meteor B. Dragon charged up another molten ball of lava and spewed it at the fluff token.
"I activate Kuriboh from my hand!" Pinkie discarded the card as a puffball with little feet and claws appeared next to her, just as the token was stroke with the lava. "By doing so, I take no battle damage."
"You just got lucky." Merry huffed, "I'll end my turn for now, but next turn, I'll smoke you!"
Merry's Hand: 0
"Oh man, I don't think I can watch!" Twilight whimpered.
"Hey, stop worrying." Pinkie smiled, "I told you, this duel isn't over yet."
"B-but how can you possibly hope to win now? There's no way you can turn this around with a near empty hand and no strong monsters on the field. It's all over." Twilight looked down onto the ground, crestfallen, but Pinkie was laughing. A joyous laugh, even that got her attention.
"Don't be such a Negative Nelly, Twilight."
"Who's Nelly...?"
"Cause it's not over! Not yet, at least." Pinkie put her hand on her deck and drew the next card. "...Okay, now it's over."
"WHAT?!"
Merry was laughing, "ha! Oh wow, that was anticlimactic." She was laughing as loud as possible, holding her sides as she nearly fell over. "S-so it's my turn, right?"
"Oh, you seem to misunderstand." Pinkie smirked, "it's not over for me. Because I've got everything I need right here!"
"...Huh?"
"I activate my face-down card: Call of the Haunted! This lets me bring back one monster that's sleeping in my graveyard! And I choose the Kuriboh I just ditched!" A tombstone popped up onto Pinkie's field, Kuriboh hovering over it.

"What in Faust's name are you doing...?" Merry mumbled.
"Winning." Pinkie smirked back at Merry, catching her off guard as she nearly stumbled back. "Now zip the lip and let the cards rip! I summon Nitro Synchron!" A red-and-white valve monster appeared, with big yellow gloves and clown shoes.

"Another Tuner!"
"That's right, Twilight! And now, I tune my Level 2 Nitro Synchron," Nitro Synchron jumped into the air, "with my level 1 Kuriboh and Level 4 Max Warrior!" Kuriboh and Max Warrior followed tuner as he turned into rings, coming around Kuriboh ad Max Warrior as they became stars equal to their levels.
"Fire up your engine and move at top speed! Synchro Summon! Let's Go, Nitro Warrior!"
A bulky humanoid creature appeared, green skin with dark green armor pieces, with pistons on the back of his neck and head and a turbine coming out of his lower back.

"And now, thanks to Nitro Synchron, I also draw a card."
"Care to explain how he's suppose to help you?" Merry smirked, "in case you haven't realized, my Meteor B. Dragon has over twice his attack points!"
"Yeah, I know. But he's not aiming for your dragon." Pinkie smirked, "Nitro Warrior, attack the blue Sheep Token! Dynamite Knuckle!" Nitro Warrior then flew from Pinkie's field and pulled back his arm, throwing a haymaker into the unsuspecting sheep as it exploded into puff balls.
Meteor B. Dragon's ATK: 6700
"Was that all you got?!" Merry called as Nitro Warrior flew backwards and into the air.
"Not even close!" Pinkie replied, "cause now Nitro Warrior's effect actives: when he destroys a monster in battle, I can force a monster on your field into attack mode and attack again!"
"...What?" Merry stood there, stunned as her orange Sheep Token began to rev his foot in confidence, ready for battle. "B-but wait! My tokens have 0 attack points!"
"And you have only 2700 Lifepoints! Nitro Warrior, Dynamite Crunch!" Nitro Warrior then came flying down towards the Sheep Token, a green aura surrounding his fists before two large, fist-shaped constructs appeared and crushed the sheep. The shockwave sent Merry flying back on her back.
Merry's Lifepoints: 0
"I-I...I lost..." Merry whimpered.
"You won?!" Twilight gasped as the cards began to vanish and Pinkie popped out her deck and collected her cards. "I can't believe it! You actually won!"
Pinkie giggled, "I told you not to worry." She then walked over to Merry and offered her hand. "That was a great duel, Merry May! But, do you mind giving my friend back her Dark Magician Girl, now?" Merry looked up, pouting at Pinkie Pie as she accepted her help and stood back up.
"Fine. Here." Merry threw the card through the air, Pinkie Pie managing to catch it, fumbling all the while. "I didn't want that card anyway."
"Oh, did you still want this one?" Pinkie held up the Chaos Emperor Dragon, "you can have it if you want."
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH?!?!?!?!?!"
The entire crowd stood there in stunned silence, Twilight's jaw having dropped onto the ground, as was Merry's.
"Well, sure. I mean, if you really want it, then I'm more than happy to give you a card or two." Pinkie smiled. Merry's happy face contorted into a sour frown. "Uh, are you okay?"
"Do you think I'm a joke?!"
".....No?" Pinkie wasn't quite sure how to answer, backing up a bit as Merry marched towards her.
"Oh, I see how it is! You think I can't hack it, so you're giving me a hand out!" Merry stormed pass it. "Well forget it! You can take that card and shove it up your-"
Then the bell began to ring.
"OH NO, I FORGOT!" Pinkie cried as she shoved her cards back into her backpack.
"AAAAAAH! TODAY'S MY FIRST DAY AND EVERYTHING!" Twilight howled as she ran back into the school, the rest of the crowd following in turn, including Merry May.
("And this was the start of my...bizarre adventure!")
("Wait, no, that's a different anime...uh...don't play card games and drive!")
With the duel from before over and Pinkie and Twilight barely managing to make it to first period, the school day was mostly uneventful. Pinkie and Twilight shared the same classes together and as the school day winding down to lunch time, Pinkie was looking over Twilight 'Dark Magician Girl' card.
Once the card was handed back, Twilight held it protectively in hand. "Well, you see, it was my older brother's card."
"Oh..." Pinkie's hair practically deflated, getting Twilight to nearly jump from her desk. Pinkie put a hand to Twilight's shoulder and in a somber tone, "I'm so sorry for your lost, Twilight. I'm sure he was a good person and is in a much better-"
"He's not dead."
"Oh! Okay!" Pinkie's hair made a 'popping' noise as it returned to its usual, bouncy self, getting a small squeal from Twilight from just how absurd that was. "So, what, did he leave home or something?"
"Y-yeah..." Twilight adjusted her glasses and started to compose herself. "He left to become a Professional Duelist and he's been doing really well. He gave me his 'Dark Magician Girl' to help me on my own path to become a duelist myself." She mused, "actually, you might've heard of him. His name is Shining Armor."
"NO WAY!" Her sudden scream had enough force to knock Twilight over on the bench with a hard 'thud'. "Your older brother is Shining Armor?!"
"I guess you heard of him..."
"Heard of him?!" Pinkie pulled out her backpack and dug around before pulling out a large poster. Shining Armor had long blue and turquoise hair, deep blue eyes, and a well toned body with fair skin. He was in a dark purple suit with an undone black tie, the 'Buster Blader' monster standing over him. He was also standing next to a fair skinned woman with a buxom build, curly long hair with various purple shades and a hint of golden streaks, and purple eyes. She was in a red leotard that helped showed off her hips and breasts, with white frills that hovered just over her knees, with pink knee-high stockings and gloves. She had the 'Dark Magician' standing over her.
"He's totally awesome! He and Mi Amore Cadenza are my favorite Tag Team Duelist!" Pinkie was absolutely giddy as Twilight pulled herself up off the bench. "I can't believe he's actually your brother! You must have a super awesome deck to use!"
"Yeah, er...about that..." Twilight pulled out her deck, "I, well, don't really have a deck that's all that good..."
"Oh come on! If Shining Armor's your brother, I bet he sends you lots of cool cards like Dragon Rulers! Or Thunder Dragons! Or," Pinkie then went through Twilight's deck and her face contorted. "'M...Mushroom Man #2? 'Ancient Jar'? 'P-Poison of the Old Man'?!"
("It was honestly starting to hurt going through Twilight's deck. I mean, she had 'Watapon' in her deck! Who uses that?!")
Twilight was shyly twiddling her fingers as she mumbled, "w-well...ya see, when my brother started dueling, he didn't have any cards and had to build up his deck from scratch." She took off her glasses and stared somberly at the table. "So, when he and Cadence left for the Pro Leagues, I didn't wanna use the cards they tried to leave to me cause...cause I wanted to do it on my own like they did."
("Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand cue the flashback!")
A younger Twilight Sparkle, a Freshman in Middleschool, watched Shining Armor pack his bags, holding a small box in her hands. She was standing in the doorway, and when he turned to see her, he jumped a bit.
"Wh-whoa, Twily! Don't scare me like that!" He chuckled a bit, "jeez, you're gonna give me a heart attack!"
"S-sorry." Twilight giggled a bit, "I just...just wanted to give you these." She held the box up to him. Shining raised an eyebrow, walking over and looking inside the box. He was taken back to see cards; about 8 years worth of cards that he had given to Twilight. "You told me you were just loaning them to me, so I wanna give them back."
"I-I...well, I mean," Shining had said it so long ago that he didn't really remember. Even if he did say that, he only dd it cause it sounded cooler. "Twilight, you don't gotta give these back, ya know? I mean, I've got plenty of cards for my own deck."
He tried to give them back, but Twilight pushed them back. "Still, I don't want to use a bunch of hand-me-down cards. I...I wanna be a duelist who stands on her own two feet. With my own deck. I wanna do it just like you did." She smiled at him, "I wanna catch up to you in the Pro Leagues with my own deck!"
Her smile was wiped away when Shining looked down at his little sister, flowing a waterfall of tears and had snot running out of his nose. "O-oh Faust, that's so precious..."
"Shining, stop looking at me like that! It's weird!" He pounded lightly at his chest, getting a small laugh from both of them. "My BBBF is suppose to be super cool!"
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry." Shining began to sniffle and clean his face with a nearby rag. "But...here. At least let me help you get started on your new collection." He dug into his coat pocket and pulled out a card and handed it to Twilight. She stared at it, unsure if she should take it. "Hey, don't thnk of this as a loan. Think of this as...a gift. A 'good luck in Middle School' gift."
("St-stupid onion-cutting ninjas...")
"And that's why the 'Dark Magician Girl is so important to me." Twilight said, "because it's the card I took to remember my brother from."
When she put them back on, she was stunned to see Pinkie with tears flowing like a waterfall and snot running down her face. "TH-THAT'S SO TOUCHING!"
"WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN EVERY TIME I TELL THIS STORY?! IT'S NOT THAT SAD!"
After quickly cleaning her face with a bunch of napkins, Pinkie smiled. "Say, I wanna make it to the Pro Leagues too! So why not let me help you and we both can make it together!"
Twilight fidgeted with her glasses, "well, I mean, I want to do it on-"
"Oh come on, nobody can make it on their own!" Pinkie giggled, "I mean, Shining has a Tag Duel partner, doesn't he?"
"I-I mean...I guess so..."
Pinkie put an arm around her shoulder. "And if it's a pride thing, then why not just pay me to build you a deck? It's not a handout; it's business." She watched Twilight's face twist n uncertainty. "Lots of Pro Duelists have professional Deck Builders to look over their cards. Smash Fortune does. Daring Do does. I heard that Songbird Serenade has an entire team of scientist just to do maintenance on her deck!"
Twilight slowly began to nod, "I...guess that makes sense."
Pinkie was beaming as she let go of Twilight. "Good. I'm available Mondays-Fridays and I only accept payment in cupcakes!"
"C-cupcakes..." Twilight was pretty confused, but she didn't push on it. "You sure that you can do something like that?"
"You mean charge with food or build a deck."
"...Uh, the second one?"
Pinkie smiled, "well, trust me! I'll make you an amazing deck to play with! After all, I'm going to be the next Duel Queen, so I gotta prove I can rock and build a deck!"
"Duel Queen?"
Twilight and Pinkie shared a glance before looking behind them to the source of the new voice. She had long, rainbow-colored hair tied into a long ponytail, goggles resting atop her head. She was about 5'4, just a bit taller then Twilight's own 5'3 and wore the same uniform as the two girls did. Magenta eyes leered at Pinkie Pie, the student having a rather well endowed build of her own, even if her own C-Cups were overshadowed by Pinkie's Ds.
"Oh, hey Rainbow Dash." Pinkie smiled, waving at her, even if Twilight was scooting away nervously from Dash's intimidating glare.
"Don't play dumb, party girl."
"Play dumb? How do you do that?"
Rainbow Dash slammed her hand onto the desk, "you just said you would be the next 'Duel Queen'."
"Oh, that?" Twilight watched Pinkie's metamorphosis again, seeing her smirk with almost shark-like teeth, and Dash was sharing that look. "Yeah, I guess I did say that; cause I'm pretty sure I'm the best duelist in this school."
Dash gave a small chuckle, "that's a pretty bold statement when you know I'm here." Dash pulled out a pair of navy, fingerless gloves and began pulling them over her tanned flesh. "Care to prove that?"
Pinkie shot out of her bench, "oh, I'm always ready if you are."
Then the bell rang.
"...Er, let's do this after school." Pinkie said.
"Y-yeah." Dash had pulled her gloves off. "I'll see you then."
"So, what's the big deal about this whole 'Duel Queen' thing anyway?" Twilight walked besides Pinkie as she dug around inside of her backpack. "I mean, it doesn't really mean anything; it's just a nickname that some female duelists get when they're popular. It's not like an actual title or anything."
"Yeah, well, at Canterlot High," Pinkie pulled out a duel box and began to load her deck into her duel disk, "calling yourself a 'Duel Queen' is like calling yourself the best duelist at the school. Cause only pros ever get called 'Duel Queen'. So calling yourself one of those is like calling yourself a professional-the best of the best. The cream of the crop. The Queen Bee in a hive of drones. The Alpha over all the Omegas. The majestic unicorn around a field of draft horses. The-"
"SHE GETS THE POINT, AIRHEAD!" Rainbow Dash shouted from across the field, her fingerless gloves back on. "Now hurry it up!"
"Oh, sorry!"

"I'm going first." Dash told her as she picked up her opening hand along with Pinkie. "And I'll start with Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus in attack mode!" Appearing on Rainbow Dash's field was a white, winged horse with a sapphire horn, neighing proudly as it flew around its master before landing in front of her.

"C-Crystal Beasts?!" Twilight gasped, "those cards are impossibly rare! Only a handful of people in the world play them."
Rainbow Dash smirked, throwing out the 'v' sign with her hands. "Damn right they are! These cards have been in my family for generations! And now I'm their new master!"
"But if they're family heirlooms, why are you playing them?" Pinkie asked, tilting her head.
"...When Sapphire Pegasus is summoned onto the field, I can add a Crystal Beast monster from my deck to my backrow. I choose Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle!" Sapphire Pegasus's horn gave a blue glow as a red chunk of stone appeared behind it.
("I can't believe she just ignored me!")
"I set two cards and end my turn." Dash smirked at Pinkie Pie, "beat that!"

"Okie dokie lokie," Pinkie shrugged as she drew her next card. "Hmm, let's see...oh, I know! Watch carefully now, cause this trick has a lot of steps to it! First, I play Double Summon! This lets me make two Normal summons this turn. And my first one will be Peformapal Secondonkey!" A donkey appeared on Pinkie's field, light brown in color and with a red bowtie with yellow polkadots.

"P-Performapals?" Twilight scratched at her head, "you've got another deck?"
"Yeah! I've got, like, a lot of them!" Pinkie smiled, "and now Secondonkey's effect activates; it lets me take a 'Performapal' from my deck and send it to the graveyard." Pinkie then sent a card from her deck to the graveyard. "Next, with my second Normal Summon, I summon Performapal Friendonkey!" Another, light-blue, donkey appeared next to Secondonkey, having a mischievous look on his face and a tiny hat on his head. It also had a pink saddle and saddlebag.

"I'm sorry, but is there a pitstop between now and the fucking point?" Dash asked, rolling her eyes.
"Hey, no swearing! We don't have the profanity tag!"

("Oops, I was suppose to put that here.")
"Never mind. Anywho, Friendonkey lets me Special Summon one Level 4 or below 'Performapal' from my hand or graveyard. So from my graveyard, I'm calling my good buddy Performapal Longphone Bull!" Friendonkey began chuckling as his saddlebag opened up and a blue bull in a vest and pants popped out and landed in the middle of the donkeys, with a phone on his head.

"That's real cute, Pinkie, but in case you flunked math or something, none of these cards can take on Sapphire Pegasus." Dash said bluntly.
"Good thing I'm not done!" Pinkie smiled as the phone on Longphone's head began to ring. "Cause now, I can add a 'Performapal' from my deck to my hand, as long as it's not a Pendulum monster." A card popped from her deck and added it to her hand. "And lookie here! The card I added was Performapal Elephammer to my hand. And since if I've got 2 or more Performapals on my field, and I count 3, I can Special Summon him to the field!" A lime-green elephant with a hammer in his trunk then lept from behind Pinkie, but instead of landing on the field, it fell into a hole and was sent falling before a loud 'thud' was heard.

"Uh...h-hey! That's not suppose to happen!" Pinkie yelped
Dash rolled her eyes, "yeah, I bet not. Cause I activated my Trap Card; Bottomless Trap Hole! When a monster with 1500 attack or more is summoned, I can banish it from the game."
"Oh..." Pinkie pouted, "that's no fun."
"Oh, whatever! Is that all you got?"
"No!" Pinkie huffed as she looked through her hand, "I still got...I can still...well, er, I guess I do end my turn."

"All that set up and that was all you could manage?" Twilight asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, well...that was just my first trick."
"And your last." Dash drew her next card. "Cause now, I'm summoning Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger!" A yellow-ish tiger, covered in spikes on its legs and forehead, and a yellow stone on both sides of his neck. He purred a bit as he nuzzled up next to Rainbow Dash.

"Aw, it's a kitty!" Pinkie cooed, but then Topaz Tiger growled at her and got her to flinch. "Nevermind! He's a really big cat!"
"You got that right!" Dash smirked, "Topaz Tiger, attack Secondonkey! Topaz Slash!" The tiger's claw began to give off a topaz sheen, leaping into the air and mauled at the screaming donkey before it exploded in a puff of smoke.

"Wait, why did my lifepoints go down to 7000?!"
"Cause when Topaz Tiger attacks," Dash smirked, as the tiger returned to her and his claws returned to Normal, "he gains 400 points for the damage phase. So his attack became 2000."
Pinkie pouted, "I guess that tiger's got some serious claws.
"And now, Sapphire Pegasus, take out Longphone Bull! Sapphire Beam!" Sapphire Pegasus flew into the air, his horn glowing a sapphire color before firing a beam from said horn, hitting the bull and destroying it.

"And that's my turn, Pinkie."

"Draw!" Pinkie had a giddy grin, "alright, for my next trick, I'll tribute Friendonkey to Special Summon Performapal Sleight Hand Magician!" A red curtain came down upon the donkey before a tall man in clown makeup and a a jester-like outfit took his place, holding a scepter with a theater mask on the end.

"And now I activate his effect: I can send a card from my hand to the graveyard and destroy one card on your field. And I choose...Ruby Carbuncle in your backrow!"
"Oh no you don't!" Dash shouted, "I reveal my trap: Fiendish Chains!" When the trap card flipped face up, chains fired out and entangled the ever-smiling mage. "This will prevent your Magician from attacking AND negates his effects! So he's not going anywhere."
Pinkie giggled, "silly Dashie, don't you know that he's...an escape artist?"
"Eh?"
"But he needs help from his little friend! By returning my Sleight Hand Magician to my hand," The Magician disappeared in a puff of pink smoke, "I can Special Summon Performapal Sky Pupil!" A little boy appeared with a white mask and a red and blue jester hat appeared out of the smoke, holding two golden rings.

"I'm getting really tired of you clowning around, Pinkie..." Dash growled.
"Oh, then you're gonna REALLY hate this." Pinkie smirked, "cause now, I also summon Performapal Skullcrobat Joker!" Another clown in a pink and black suit, with a tophat, fell from the sky. Sky Pupil held up a ring as the magician grabbed and flipped through it before landing next to the kid and bowed.

"I'm not impressed." Dash said coldly, Skullcrobat joker looking dejected before falling over and sobbing.
("Jeez, tough crowd...")
"Well, you might be impressed with this! Skullcrobat lets me add a 'Performapal' from my deck to my hand. And I choose my 'Performapal Sky Magician'." Skullcrobat took off his hat as the card went flying to his master.
("Spoiler Alert: He'll come up later.")
"Thanks, pal! Now, attack Topaz Tiger with Skull Surprise!" Skullcrobat joker then took off his hat, a giant, cartoony skull on a spring went flying right at Topaz Tiger and struck him dead on.
"When Topaz Tiger is destroyed, instead of sending him to the graveyard, he can go to the backrow!" Dash smiled as a huge chunk of yellow stone appeared besides the ruby.

"And now, Sky Pupil, attack Sapphire Pegasus!" The child then threw his large rings at the winged horse.
"Uh, why? Pegasus'll just crush him."
"Cause Sky Pupil has another effect: when he attacks and I have another 'Performapal' on the field, I can choose to just destroy your card!" Pinkie smiled as Sky Pupil flipped threw the rings and just...poked Pegasus on the nose as a puff of pink smoke came around him. Flying out of the smoke was a hunk of sapphire landing next to the topaz. "And now, my turn ends."

"About time." Dash grunted as she drew her next card. "I play Pot of Greed!"
"Ooh, what does that do?!" Pinkie looked excited, but Twilight just scratched the back of her head.
"It lets me draw two." Dash said, the pot coming and going as Dash drew. "Next, I summon Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat!" A pink furred cat was summoned in front of Dash, looking more like a panther then a house cat. It had a gold collar with a solid amethyst embedded into it.

"Aw, what a cute ki-" Pinkie was cut off by the cat growling at her. "Okay, okay, I get it!"
"Good." Dash nodded, "And now, with Amethyst Cat's effect, she attacks...you directly!"
"...Say what?" Pinkie blinked as she watched Amethyst Cat jump over her clowns and swipe at her face with her claws. "OWOWOWOWIE!" Pinkie whined, holding her face in agony.

"Oh calm down, it was only for half her attack." Dash rolled her eyes.
"It...still hurt."

"Draw." Pinkie sniffled a bit, "okay, I summon Performapal Silver Claw in attack mode!" A violet wolf with an orange star on his cheek appeared on Pinkie's feet, growling at Amethyst Cat.

"And now, I attack with Sky Pupil and play his ability again on Amethyst Cat." Sky Pupil performed his little ring trick again, booping Amethyst Cat on the snout as it disappeared into smoke and reappeared as a purple gem with the rest on Dash's field.
"And now, Silver Claw attacks!" Silver Claw's claws became silver and he charged at Dash. "Oh, and when he attacks, he and all Performapals on my field gain 300 attack points until my turn ends!" Dash visibily cringed as she covered her face, guarding against the incoming attack.

"And Skullcrobat attacks too!" The acrobat jumped into the air, doing a flip before coming down and kicking Dash right in the stomach, knocking her over.

"I'm," she gave a few coughs as she got back up, "I'm fine. Just end your turn."
"Uh, okay. My turn's over."

"Good." Dash drew, "cause you're right where I want you!"
"You mean 'winning'?"
"Ha. Ha ha, that's funny." Dash rolled her eyes, "but no. I play Crystal Abundance! First, the four gems in my backrow are sent to the graveyard!" The four gems all began to rise into the air before circling around Pinkie's field. "And now, it destroys your entire field!"
"...Uh-oh."
With a loud explosion, all the cards on the field were destroyed. Pinkie cringed as she said, "wh-when Pendulm Monsters like Skullcrobat Joker and Silver Claw are destroyed, they go to my extra deck instead!"
"Like it matters. Cause now, I get to special summon as many Crystal Beasts from my graveyard. So let's welcome back Topaz Tiger, Sapphire Pegasus, and Amethyst Cat!" The three gems reappeared on Dash's field before, in a flash of light, the 3 of them reappeared. "Oh, and I get to activate Pegasus's effect again, so I put Emerald Tortoise back there!" A large emerald stone appeared in Dash's backrow.
"Oh, this is gonna hurt..." Pinkie whimpered.
"Oh yeah it is!" Dash smirked, "all my Crystal Beasts; attack directly!" The three monsters all started to stalk around Pinkie Pie.
"N-now hang on a second!" Pinkie cried, "y-you can just...tap me on the leg and we'll call that an attack." She smiled sweetly at the three monsters.

"Owie..." Pinkie whimpered, face in the ground and butt up in the air as her lifepoints dropped.

Dash laughed as loud as she could, slapping her knee and everything as her monsters came back to her. "Oh man, you look like shit!"
"Dash, no, the rating..." Pinkie said weakly as she got back onto the field.
"Oh whatever." She rolled her eyes, "my turn is over. So play your last card already."

Pinkie drew as she looked over her hand. "I...guess I'll just set a card and end my turn."
Pinkie's Hand: 2
Dash chuckled as she drew, "aw, not laughing now? Gonna be a sad clown, now?"
Pinkie pouted, putting her cards in her duel-disk hand and rubbing her butt. "It's a little hard to smile after your horse literally kicked my butt."
"Big baby." Dash snickered, "alright, I'll put you out of your misery. I summon Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth." A woolly mammoth with twisted tusks and a large, orange-like gem on his forehead appeared on her field.

"And now, Amber Mammoth, give the finishing blow!" Amber Mammoth gave a loud blow of his trunk before charging at Pinkie Pie.
And then, she smirked.
"I activate Pinpoint Guard!" The trap flipped as a tombstone appeared in Pinkie's backrow. "This card lets me special summon a monster from my graveyard, as long as they're Level 4 or below! And I choose...Performapal Hip Hippo in defense mode!" A pink hippo appeared on Pinkie's field, standing on his hind legs and holding up his hands to guard his face. It had a red vest, orange bowtie, and a tophat.
"Where'd THAT even come from?!" Dash asked.
"Don't you remember, silly?" Pinkie smiled, "he was sent to the graveyard for the effect of Sleight Hand Magician!"
Dash sucked her teeth, "yeah, well, my attack continues!" Amber Mammoth then raised a leg and stomped on the hippo. But instead of of the monster disappearing into pixels, it was completely fine. "H-hey! What gives?!"
"Oh, I know this!" Twilight spoke up, "Pinpoint Guard prevents the monster from being destroyed this turn!"
The rainbow-haired girl groaned as she said, "fine, my turn ends."
Dash's Hand: 3
Pinkie smirked, "alright, time to turn this duel around! I draw!" Pinkie drew her next card, "alright, now, I play Pot of Desires!" The green pot returned, with a pink, disgusting face on the other side. "this card lets me banish the top ten cards facedown and lets me draw two cards!"
"Isn't that a bit excessive?" Twilight asked.
"Course not!" Pinkie declared, "now, zip the lip and let the cards rip!" She ditched the first ten cards on her deck and then drew two. "And what cards I found! First, thanks to Hip Hippo's effect, I can use him for a double sacrifice! So I tribute him to summon the star of my deck: Performapal Sky Magician!" A magician flew overhead with a golden ring before he let go, flipping around and landing onto the field. He wore all white, with four golden rings all linked together.

"And now, I activate the Continuous Spell: Magician's Restage!" A box then appeared on the field, "this let's me special summon a Level 3 or below Spellcaster onto the field. So re-introducing Sky Pupil!" The little boy popped back out of the box, giving a small wave to Rainbow Dash, who wasn't so pleased. "Oh, and when I activate a Continuous Spell, Sky Magician gains 300 attack."
Sky Magician's ATK: 2800
"And now, Sky Pupil attacks Amber Mammoth! And with his effect, a monster is automatically destroyed!" Sky Pupil poked Amber Mammoth and a slab of amber slid to Dash's backrow.
"Next, Sky Magician, attack Amethyst Cat!" Sky Magician chain of rings were tossed at Amethyst, getting smaller before they crushed the cat.
Dash's Lifepoints: 1000
Dash sucked her teeth as Pinkie moved to her mainphase 2. "And now, I tribute Sky Pupil to special summon Sleight of Hand Magician again!" The jester-looking mage popped back onto the field. "And now, my turn ends. Oh, and Sky Magician returns to normal."
Pinkie's Hand: 1
Dash growled, "don't think you're the only one who can pull off big moves like that!" Dash drew her next card and a smirk appeared on her face. "I play Dark World Dealings! This forces us to both draw a card, then ditch one." Both girls did as instructed.
"Okie dokie lokie, Dash. So what no-" Pinkie was cut off by the rainbow glow that came around Dash. "Uh, what's going on here?"
"With the Sapphire Pegasus and Topaz Tiger in my frontrow," The two monsters began to glow blue and yellow, "Amber Mammoth, Emerald Tortoise, and Amethyst Cat in my backrow," the three gems began to glow orange, green and purple, "and the Ruby Carbuncle and Cobalt Eagle sleeping in my graveyard," her graveyard then began to give off an indigo and red glow, "I special summon the Ultimate Crystal: Rainbow Dragon!"
A large dragon appeared behind Rainbow Dash, its serpent-like dragon covered in white scales and adorned with white feathers. It gave a mighty roar as the gems adorning its neck gave a vibrant glow.

"...Hot fudge, that's SO COOL!" Pinkie had stars in her eyes as she marveled at the giant dragon. "I want a dragon like that!"
Dash rubbed her nose, "yeah, he's pretty cool. This is the ace of my deck."
"I can see why!"
"Yeah...hey! Don't distract me when I'm about to win!" Dash shouted at her, "and now, Rainbow Dragon! Attack Sky Magician with Over the-"

Both girls stopped dead in their tracks, slowly turning their heads to see a cyan-colored hatchback. A woman with walnut-skin poked from the window, with reddish-orange hair and a yellowish-orange streak running through it was waving her hand over at the three girls, but noticeably at Rainbow Dash.
"Dashie-Honey! Yoo-hoo!"
"'Dashie'?" Pinkie asked, holding back a giggle as Twilight tried to peer on at the woman.
"Rainbow Dash, is that...your-"
"MOOOOOM!" Dash turned around to face her mother and the car. "I told you guys to stop picking me up at school!"
"Aw, but Dashie, you didn't call us to check in." She added, "you know we love you, but if you're not gonna check in at home, then you gotta call us to make sure you're okay."
"MOM! I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A DUEL HERE!" Dash whined, "can't this wait?! I'm a senior for Faust's sake!"
"Sorry, honey, but you promised to house sit right after school and you know how important promises are~" Windy Whistles giggled, "you know it's game night for your father and I."
"On a Monday...?" Twilight mumbled, looking at Pinkie who just shrugged.
Dash groaned, grumbling something about 'being too old for this', "look, let's call this a draw, okay?" The holograms suddenly turned off as Dash disconnected her duel disk.
As Rainbow Dash started to run off, Pinkie called out to her, "whatever you say, Dashie~"
Rainbow Dash stopped, slowly turned to glare at Pinkie, "do. NOT. Call me that." Pinkie giggled innocently as Dash ran to the car. Once she drove off, Twilight gave a small sigh.
"Well, that's a shame...I was really looking forward to seeing more of Rainbow Dragon."
"Yeah, me too." Pinkie nodded, "I was so close to winning."
"...Pardon?" Twilight raised an eyebrow as Pinkie turned around and showed the last card in her hand. "...You had THAT in your hand?!"
"Yup." Pinkie smiled, proudly holding Rainbow Kuriboh. "If Rainbow Dash attacked, Rainbow Kuriboh would equip himself to Rainbow Dragon and stop the attack."
"Then...next turn, you'd draw, use Sleight Hand Magician's effect and..." Twilight's eyes widened, "oh my Faust, Pinkie! You would've won!"
"Well, I at least could've stopped Rainbow Dragon," Pinkie shrugged, "there was still a chance that Dash could've brought it back somehow." She then started to put her deck back in its box. "It was REALLY close, though. I hope we can duel again! It was so fun!" She began to bounce away with Twilight walking beside her.
("How cute. Girls still fighting over the right to be called 'Duel Queen'.")
Meanwhile,
A tall woman stood in a nearby window, having watched the duel between Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. She was observing them with her long hair flowing with blues, greens, and pinks. Sharp, magenta eyes looked quite pleased as the tanned, buxom woman put a hand to her face.
"It's been such a long time since I've seen duelists with such passion. Since, well, my days in the Pro League." Principal Celestia smiled faintly from her perch.
"Sister, you're being a stalker again." Vice Principal Luna approached her. 6 inches shorter than the 6'5 Celestia and had much paler skin, but still had a body that rivaled her older sister's. Midnight blue hair was taken out of its ponytail and allowed to flow.
"I'm not stalking! I'm observing." Celestia giggled, "I remember back in my Pro Days when I was called a Duel Queen."
"Yes, back when we used to play cards with stone slabs." Luna chuckled a bit, getting a pout from Celestia. "Oh come on, sister, we're not exactly getting any younger."
"You don't need to make us sound ancient." Celestia huffed, "and those two duelists have real potential. I think they could go pro." She then looked back out the window. "I especially got a good feeling about her."
"...Her?" Luna raised an eyebrow, "but she wasn't even dueling. And besides, she just started today and from what I saw, she couldn't tell a Trap Card from a Link Monster."
"Have faith in me, Luna. I have a talent for spotting talent." Celestia smirked, "I have a good feeling about the senior class this year..." She then walked over to her desk and opened a drawer. "Maybe I'll be able to bust out this old baby..."
"No."
"Oh come on, Luna! It wouldn't be my REAL deck! I would have my kid gloves on!"
"That you probably made from REAL kids..."
"You make me sound like some kind of monster!"
"You were called the 'One Turn Killer' for a reason, Celestia. You're the reason 'OTK's are even a thing!"
Celestia pouted, crossing her arms, "you're no fun."
It was Tuesday of the following day after 'The Duel of the Duel Queen' yesterday. The school was abuzz with people talking about how the duel was gonna end. People were chatting about how Dash had it in the bag, with others proclaiming that Pinkie had an ace in the hole. Twilight knew that last comment was partially right, but she didn't dwell too much on the results of a duel. It was inconclusive and that was enough for her.
Right now, her focus was just on seeing Pinkie almost rip open the plastic container and scarf down cupcakes as though she hadn't eaten in years. She mauled a red velvet as the fluffy texture rained down onto the lunch table like bloody cotton.
"Ooh, red velvet with vanilla icing~ Nice, Twilight!"
"Th-thanks..." Twilight was disgusted with the way Pinkie scarfed them down. She tried not to be, but it was like watching a hungry wolf tear at a deer's throat. But she swallowed her nausea as she said, "s-so, this will due as...payment, right?"
"Huh?"
"...For building me a deck, Pinkie. We talked about this yesterday."
"Oh yeah!" Pinkie smiled, pushing the container of 8-now 3-cupcakes to the side as she grabbed her backpack. Twilight watched her dig around for it and pull out a notepad. "Okay, so you want a deck. I guess you want it centered around the 'Dark Magician Girl', huh?"
The bespectacled girl frantically nodded her head. "Y-yes! That's exactly what I want!"
"Okie dokie lokie!" Pinkie smiled, "when I build the deck, I'll leave space for her, so you can just slip it in when I give the rest of the cards to you." Pinkie watched Twilight nod as she flipped the page of her notebook and scribbled more stuff down. "Goodie! Just come by my place on Saturday at around noon and I'll have the deck fully prepared, finished, and ready for you."
"R-really?!" Twilight nodded, "thank you so much, Pinkie Pie! You're amazing!"
"Aw, shucks," Pinkie giggled, "thanks, Twilight~ I ease to please!"
Twilight stepped off of the bus as she walked her way to the rather rustic house. She took a second glance on the paper given to her by Pinkie. She couldn't believe someone so bounce and pink lived somewhere so...grey and drab and near the edge of the city, with a nearby garage. She took Pinkie for someone who lived in the heart of Canterlot, with friends just pouring out of every door and window.
She tried to push those thoughts away as Twilight walked to the door. She had a lilac sweater vest over a white t-shirt, a purple dress with a magenta star emblazoned on her hip, with her school backpack hanging on her shoulders. Knee-high socks and plain black shoes that clicked on every step of the cobblestone before she began to walk up the steps to the porch.
KNOCK, KNOCK-KNOCK!
Twilight braced herself, expecting Pinkie to spring out and tackle her like an excited dog. But instead, a tall woman came out-at least as tall as Pinkie, but she was nothing like her. Sharp slate eyes that made Twilight freeze up, with matching her tied into a bun. Golden glasses hung on her face with a noticeable chain, the woman had fair skin and a curvy build; her breasts were an E-Cup and had child-bearing hips, with a dark grey vest over her plain white shirt, a black pencil skirt underneath.
"Can I help you?"
Her voice was suddenly dry. Twilight tried to speak, but no words seemed to come out. Twilight only stood with her jaw agape as the woman adjusted her glasses.
"You must be Pinkie's friend, aren't you?"
("Yeah, this isn't t he first time I brought a friend home and they had this reaction to one of my parents.")
"Y-yes, ma'am. That's-AHEM-that's right."
"Well then, she's in the garage with one of her...projects." Twilight noticed the sneer the woman gave when she said that final word. "Simply knock and I'm sure she'll open the door."
"Er, thank you, ma'am." Twilight nodded as she watched the woman return inside. Twilight stepped off the porch and headed to the garage door and began to give it another knock.
No response.
When Twilight got ready to knock again, the door started to move upward and open up. Inside, the garage had looked like mchanic's workshop. Twilight looked around, seeing Pinkie's poofy hair from behind what looked like a motorcycle, working away with a wrench.
"Huh?" Pinkie looked up and gawked, "oh, hey Twilight! Sorry, I lost track of time!" She stood at her full height, sporting a pink pair of overalls with a work belt around her hips.
"It's okay...er, your mother mentioned you were working on a project." Twilight walked over the motorcycle that was propped up. "Is...this bike it?"
"Yeah!" Pinkie giggled, "since I need to either ride the bus or hoof it in order to make it to school on time, I wanted to get a car! But I can't afford one, so I decided to get a motorcycle! But I couldn't afford that either, so I'm building one!" Pinke smiled, "it's gonna be amazing!"
"...You're not gonna try to play card games on that, are you?" Twilight raised an eyebrow at Pinkie.
"...That would be silly."
("Keep this scene in mind, it's going to bite my in the butt later...")
"To be fair, Pinkie, I would't put it past you to try." Twilight looked behind her and standing near the exit, where the mechanism to open the garage door was, was another girl with pink hair, but hers was long and straight. Creamy and clear skin, with eyes that were a soft green. She had matching leggings and a bright yellow sweater that did a poor job concealing her own D-cup and yellow boots.
"Oh, hey, uh, Fluttershy, right?" Twilight greeted, giving Fluttershy a wave as she smiled back. Thankfully, through Pinkie, the two of them had become pretty fast friends. "Nice to see you!"
"You too." Futtershy nodded, "but I hope Pinkie didn't rope you into helping her with her bike, too."
"Uh...no..." Twilight slowly sad before she clarified, "I'm here cause Pinkie promised to build me a deck for-"
"Muffins?"
"Cupcakes."
"Ah." Fluttershy gave a nod, grabbing a wrench and handing it to Pinkie. "Last time she made a deck, she charged someone muffins. She rates always seem to change with her sweet tooth."
"Hey, girl's gotta eat." Pinkie popped from her bike with a cheeky grin, making her way to a nearby desk. She took off her grease or oil-covered gloves and opened the dresser. She grabbed a deck box and handed it to Twilight. "Here you go, Twilight: one deck, perfect for your special card~"
"R-really?" Twilight took the box and opened it up. She quickly scanned through the deck and noticed it was a little...similar. Not quite the same, but she's seen a pretty similar deck. "Pinkie-"
"Yup!" Pinkie giggled, "since the 'Dark Magician Girl' is your special card, I thought I'd build you a full Magician Girl! And I took plenty of inspiration from Cadenza!"
"I guess that's a little fitting." Twilight said with a small smile, "her and Shining taught me how to duel. after all."
"R-really?!" Fluttershy gasped.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that; her brother's Shining Armor." Pinkie gushed, "isn't that cool?!"
"W-wow, really?" Twilight couldn't help but blush as she felt Fluttershy's amazed stare. "That's pretty cool! It must be pretty amazing to have a brother like Shining Armor in the Pro Leagues!"
"Heh heh, thanks." Twilight rubbed the back of her head, "but I don't think I can compare to either Cadence or my brother."
"Oh, I don't know." Fluttershy gave Twilight a gentle smile, "do you mind showing me then? I'm sure you're better then you say you are."
"W-well, o-okay." Twilight took out a duel disk from her backpack, "I guess I gotta test ut the deck anyway."
"Yippie!" Pinkie cheered as Fluttershy moved to Pinkie's desk, grabbing a duel disk and popping it on her arm. Once the two got into position, the two shared a friendly nod.

"Uh, I guess I'll go first?" Twilight asked.
"Oh, okay then. After you."
Twilight nodded as she examined her hand, then grabbing a spell card. "Okay...I'll start by activating Hand Destruction. This card forces both of us to send two cards from our hands to the graveyard, then draw two more." Twilight ditched two cards and drew two more, as did Fluttershy. "Next, I summon Chocolate Magician Girl!" A tanned-skinned girl with aqua hair appeared on Twilight's field, twirling around a wand as she floated in the air, putting a hand on her hip. She had a blue, pillared wizard hat, crop top, and mini skirt.

"A Magician Girl deck?" Fluttershy asked, "that's pretty interesting."
"Thanks~" Pinkie sang from her spot, munching on a bag of popcorn neither of them saw her grab.
Twilight tried to ignore the sound of Pinkie eating as she said, "a-and now, I play Secret Village of the Spellcasters." Tall tree sprouted into the garage, phasing through the ground and ceiling as a fake sun's light shined through. "As long as I have a Spellcaster on the field, you can't activate spell cards anymore."
"Oh dear..."
"I'll set two cards into my backrow. Turn end."
Twilight's Hand: 1
"Draw." Fluttershy drew her 6th card and looked over her own hand. "I'll activate the effect of the Tuner Monster Egotistical Ape: by sending my Level 1 Bunilla to the graveyard, he can be special summoned." Fluttershy discarded the card as a small chimp was summoned to the field, a fiendish aura surrounding him as a large, shadowy ape came over him. "When my Ape is summoned this way, I can increase or decrease his level by the level of the discarded monster. I choose to decrease his level from 5 to 4."

"Next, since I still have my normal summon, I summon Outstanding Dog Marron." A small dog popped next to Egotistical Ape, yipping excitedly. It had a small dog tag with 'Marron' written on it. Twilight and Pinkie couldn't help but give an 'awe' in pure bliss at seeing the dog. Even Chocolate Magician was cooing at the monster.

Twilight snapped out of her awing as she realized what was happening. "Uh-oh."
"And now, I'll tune my Level 4 Egotistical Ape with my Level 1 Marron!" The ape then dispersed into four rings, appearing before Marron, who ran forward and jumped through, turning into one star.
"Gallant galloping with hooves echoing the thunder clap! Synchro Summon! Run free, Thunder Unicorn!"
From the other side of the rings appeared a majestic, blue unicorn with lightning-yellow mane and electricity crackling around his horn. Yellow streaks marked its body.

"So amazing..." Twilight gawked.
"Thank you." Fluttershy smiled, "oh, and since Marron went to the graveyard, he instead gets shuffled into my deck."
("Personally, I always felt this deck didn't suit Fluttershy. Maybe if they were Pegasus...Pegasi? Pegasuses? Pegasuses.")
"Now, Thunder Unicorn, attack Chocolate Magician Girl! Thunder Shot!" The blue unicorn's horn charged with electricity and got ready to fire, but a magical circle appeared in front of the Magician Girl.
"Not so fast, Chocolate's effect activates when she's attacked; it lets me special summon a Spellcaster that's steeping in my graveyard." Fluttershy gave a gasp as Twilight took her card. "And I choose the master of magic himself, the Dark Magician!" A man with white hair and light blue skin appeared before Chocolate, in a black cloak and armor with a white trim, and blue staff in hand. Chocolate was blushing, cupping her face in her hands.

"S-so that's what Hand Destruction was for..."
"That's right. And not only is he Thunder Unicorn's new target, but thanks to Chocolate's effect, his attack is cut in half." as Twilight explained, a blue aura came around her unicorn, sapping his strength.

As electricity fired from the unicorn's horn, the Dark Magician held out a hand, catching the electric blast before holding out his rod and firing dark purple energy at the unicorn, blowing him to pixels.

"Good move, Twilight!" Pinkie cheered.
"Y-yeah, that was great." Fluttershy smiled.
"R-really? Thanks." Twilight blushed a bit, rubbing the back of her head.
Fluttershy looked over her hand, "I guess I can't do anything else but set one card and end my turn."

"Don't underestimate 'Shy, Twilight!" Pinkie screamed with her mouth full of popcorn. "She's slippery!"
"I-I'll keep that in mind." Twilight nodded as she drew. "Okay, I'll summon Berry Magician Girl." A small, baby monster with wings appeared, fluttering around Twilight in a green jumper and pink shorts, as well as a pink hood with the spiraling wizards hat. She held her own wand in her hand and a pacifier in her mouth. She eagerly flew around the other two monsters.

"Now that she's summoned, I can add a 'Magician Girl' to my hand. And I choose the 'Apple Magician Girl'." Once Twilight took her card, she commanded, "now, Dark Magician! Attack directly! Dark Magic Attack!" As the master of magic raised his arm, a tombstone appeared on Fluttershy's field. "W-what?!"
"I'm activating Call of the Haunted." Fluttershy smirked, "you didn't think you were the only one who could summon from the graveyard, did you?" A large fist punched through the ground, holding a spear. "I use Call of the Haunted to resurrect Beast King Barbaros!" Fully appearing was a giant monster, tan fur that ended in the lower half of a panther with a scorpion tale. He had a golden, lion's mane, one hand holding a spear the other a shield.

Twilight bit her lip, as the Dark Magician lowered his rod. "Well, I activate one of my facedowns; Magical Dimension!" A tall, iron maiden appeared behind Twilight's monsters. "By sacrificing one Spellcaster, I can special summon another from my hand. I choose my Apple Magician Girl!" Berry turned into pink energy, being absorbed by the iron maiden. In a red flash, a girl in a red, tight dress, with matching winged boots and gloves, and spiral hat. She turned, saw the Dark Magican, and clung onto his arm, blushing eagerly as Chocolate Magician Girl growled at her. The Dark Magician just rolled his eyes.

"And now, with Magical Dimmension's other effect, I can destroy Barbaros." The iron maiden closed itself before firing at Barbaros, exploding him into dust.
"Don't think I'm out yet; since Barbaros was a Beast-Type monster that was destroyed, I can special summon another Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest!" Appearing from the dust was a large, green ape creature, clad in brown armor and holding a wooden club. He pounded his chest and roared. "I gotta pay 1000 lifepoints, however."

"Wow, Flutershy!" Pinkie clapped her hands, "you summoned two super strong monsters back-to-back!"
"Th-thanks, Pinkie." Fluttershy smiled bashfully.
"Yeah, that was a good move!" Twilight smiled, "but I guess I can't do anything else, so I end my turn." Chocolate Magician girl had her arms crossed and glared at Apple, who gave a nervous shrug.

"Thanks, I draw." Fluttershy drew her next card. "I'll set two cards and have my Green Baboon attack the Dark Magician. Wild Bash!" Green Baboon pounced on top of the Dark Magician, swinging his club down on top of the wizard, much tot he dismay of the Magician Girls.

"And...I guess that's it."

"Draw!" Twilight drew. "And I'll play Card of Sanctity! This lets both of us draw until we both have 6 cards in our hands." Both girls drew a new hand. "Alright, now, I sacrifice Apple and Chocolate to summon Ice Queen in Attack Mode!" Both Magician Girls turned to yellow and blue energy, both twirling around each other into a pool as a woman in white, with white hair arose from it.

"And now, Ice Queen will attack! Zeta Blizzard!" A harsh whirlwind of ice and snow was sent flying at the baboon.
"Not so fast! I equip my Baboon with Horn of the Phantom Beast!" A pair of moose antlers were placed on top of Green Baboon's head. "This will give him a boost of 800 points!"

Green Baboon charged through the blizzard before he tackled the Ice Queen, sending her flying before she shattered to shaved ice. "And while equipped with the 'Horn of the Phantom Beast', I get to draw a card when my Baboon destroys a monster in battle and sends it to the graveyard."

"3400...that's gonna be tough..." Twilight mumbled as she looked through her hand. "And now that I don't have any Spellcasters on my field, I can't use my spells." She shuffled through her hand before she set a new card face down. "I'll set another card and end my turn.

"Draw!" Fluttershy drew her 8th card. "Okay, first, I summon Rescue Rabbitin attack mode." A white and grey rabbit appeared on Fluttershy's field, with ski goggles and a safety helmet. "And now, by sacrificing him, I can special summon two Normal Monsters with the same name. And I choose two copies of Chu-Ske the Mouse Fighter."

"O-okay...?" Twilight was pretty confused by this odd turn of events.
"Next, I play Double Summon, letting me make another Normal Summon. And I choose to summon Key Mouse!" A white mouse appeared on her field, with a key for a tail.

"Oh no, Key Mouse is a Tuner..."
"That's right." Fluttershy nodded, "and now, I tune my Level 1 Key Mouse with both of my Level 3 Chu-Skes!" Key Mouse became one ring that hovered into the air, with both of the mice jumping into it, both exploding into three stars each.
"Shock and amaze all that gaze upon you, as volts run through the ground you run across! Synchro Summon! Run Free, Voltic Bicorn!"
A black horse appeared from the beam of light, hopping out of the ring Key Mouse created. It had a much wilder mane then the unicorn before it, and it had two horns, coursing with yellow lightning.

"U-uh, Fl-Fluttershy!" Pinkie called, looking pretty nervous for Twilight's, who was just as terrified. "Th-this is just a te-"
"And now, Voltic Bicorn, attack with Voltic Charge!" The black stallion had its horns course with electricity before racing towards Twilight.
"I-I activate Necro Gardna in my graveyard!" A shadowy creature in red armor appeared as a ghost before Twilight, blocking the incoming attack from the bicorn. Twilight let go of the breath she was holding before she then said, "this stops one attack."
"O-oh." Fluttershy snapped back to her normal self, "er, sorry if I went a little overboard. I-I guess I was just..really in the moment there."
"I-it's okay..." Twilight assured.
("Fluttershy is always super scary when she does that...")
"W-well, I'll play one of my set cards: Beast Soul Swap. It returns one Beast on my field to the hand and I can special summon a new one of the same level." Fluttershy added, "since Voltic Bicorn is a Synchro Monster, and will be destroyed by 'Wild Nature's Release', I'll return him to my Extra Deck," the stallion gave aloud neigh before he galloped back to his master's deck. "And special summon another Level 7 from my hand: Big Koala!" A large, blue Koala then joined Green Baboon on the field.

"And now, my Koala will attack!" Big Koala jumped right for Twilight, tackling her and knocking her onto the ground with a heavy 'THUD!' Twilight groaned as she rolled onto her stomach.

"And now, my Green Baboon will do the same!" Green Baboon jumped atop of the downed duelist and raised his club and-

"OW!" Twilight cried as she shot off of the garage ground after the big, wooden club struck her on the butt, getting her to hold it and dance on her toes.

"Wow, Fluttershy~ I didn't know you had it in you." Pinkie giggled.
"W-WAIT, WHAT?! N-NO, THAT WASN'T INTENTIONAL!" Fluttershy shouted, her face pinker then her hair.
"Sure it wasn't." Pinkie's giggling made Fluttershy blush more, as well as Twilight as she shot daggers at the girl.
"I-I...er...e-end my turn here." Fluttershy mumbled.

"...Draw." Twilight drew her next card, trying to calm herself down with a deep breath. "I summon Legion the Fiend Jester." An odd, doll-like creature in a jester costume appeared on Twilight's field.

"He looks...kind of scary." Fluttershy mumbled.
"Yeah, he kind of does." Twilight admitted, "but thanks to his ability, I can perform a tribute Summon for a Spellcaster. So I tribute him and summon my Dark Magician Girl!" The Jester slowly sank into the ground and out came the Dark Magician Girl, who flew threw the air before winking at Fluttershy, getting a nervous blush from her. "And thanks tot he Dark Magician in my graveyard, she gains 300 attack."

"I-I guess she's the Ace in your deck, huh?"
"That's right." Twilight nodded, "and now, I'll activate the spell card, Sage's Stone." A white stone appeared in the Spellcaster's hand and she raised it up. "So now, I can special summon another Dark Magician from my deck." A white portal appeared above the stone as the Dark Magician came through, this time with tanned skin and red armor and cloak. He landed next to the Dark Magician Girl, who gave a wink to the pale-looking monster. The Dark Magician nodded back to her.
"Duel Monster's Power Couple!" Pinkie cheered.
"I think this is bad for me..." Fluttershy mumbled.
"Sorry, Fluttershy, but now I play Dark Burning Magic!" Once Twilight played the card, the two Spellcasters crossed their rods and a mix of black and pink energy swirled between the two. "When I activate this card while I have the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl on the field, I can destroy your entire field." Both Spellcasters cried out, sending a ball of magic flying to Fluttershy's field and obliterating her Green Baboon and Big Koala.
"O-oh..." Fluttershy whimpered as her field was wiped clean. "W-well, I'll at least be able to survive the next attack..."
"Guess again." Twilight grinned, "I flip my facedown Magic Formula and equip it to Dark Magician, giving him 700 attack points. And next, I equip Wonder Wand to my Dark Magician Girl, giving her another 500." A text book appeared in the Dark Magician's hand as the Magician Girl's wand began more slender with a green jewel on the end of it.

"And now, my two Magicians! Attack Fluttershy directly! Dark Burning Magic" Both Spellcasters performed the maneuver again, this time nailing Fluttershy directly for 6000.

When the dust cleared and the field spell disappeared, Twilight saw Fluttershy on her back, spirals in her eyes. Twilight quickly hurried over to her, "oh my Faust, Fluttershy! Are you okay?!"
"Y-yeah, I'm okay..." Fluttershy said, dazed and confused. Pinkie Pie walked over and together, her and Twilight helped Fluttershy onto her feet. "It's been a while since I actually used my duel disk. I forgot how much kick they have."
"Sorry."
"O-oh, don't apologize! You're okay." Fluttershy smiled, "and your pretty good, Twilight. You adapted to your new pretty quickly."
"Yeah, Twilight!" Pinkie added, "that was awesome!"
"Heh, thanks." Twilight rubbed the back of her head, "and thanks a lot for the deck, Pi-" Then, Twilight noticed that her hand had the duel disk on and her cards fell right off of it.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH, MY DECK!" She frantically knelt down to collect her cards.
"Calm down, Twilight." Pinkie giggled as she and Fluttershy quickly got down to help her collect them. "They're not going anywhere."
Just as she said that, the wind picked up, carrying the Dark Magician Girl card away. "Oh, except that one."
"NOT THAT ONE!!!" Twilight jumped off of the ground and chased after the flying card, with Pinkie quick to follow, leaving Fluttershy to gather the rest of the cards.
