> The story about Spike Tatsu > by BLANKS > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Ch.1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm trying my story again for those of you who read my previous story. I would like to have feedback on this to see what I could improve on, good or bad. Spike has his wings btw. GIve a like if you enjoyed it. The story begins in a beautiful sunny morning at ponyville. The birds are chirping, ponies greeting each other as they begin their day. Other ponies were opening up their stores and shops to start their usual business. As the day begins, we come into view of the friendship castle, home to the Princess of friendship, Twilight Sparkle and her two other friends, Spike Tatsu and Starlight Glimmer. We see Spike start to wake up to begin his day. "Alright, I'm up.", Spiked yawned as he got up from his bed and began to stretch. Spike looked at his bedroom wall to check the time, "So, it's 8:30 AM which gives me enough time to go to the bathroom too brush my teeth, then go make breakfast." As Spike walked down the hall and he sees Starlight going to the same place he's going. "Good morning Starlight." Spike smiled as he greeted her. "Oh, good morning to you too Spike." Starlight replied, giving him a cheery smile. "Come to brush your teeth as well? You can go first if you'd like?" "Yeah, sure. I'll make it quick since I would like to start breakfast soon. You can come and help if you would like. After you've done your business here of course." "Sure. I would love to help.", Starlight replied. "Just give me 10 minutes after you're done using the bathroom." "Alright, sounds good." Spike said. After Spike was done he headed downstairs and entered the kitchen. He opened up the fridge and looked around to see what he should make for Twilight, Starlight and him. He decided to make some eggs and his delicious haycakes, which everyone of his friends loved to eat so much. Spike wrapped around his favorite pink apron with a big red heart in the middle. He grabbed a frying pan and placed it on top of the stove. Spike turned the stove on, went to grab the eggs and cracked them open on the frying pan. He got the orange juice and poured some in three different cups. As Spike was about to go and make his haycakes, Starlight came in the kitchen. "Hey Spike, I'm here." Starlight entered the kitchen nervously laughing, thinking that she might have taken a bit longer. "Hey Starlight. You can start by setting up the table with the plates and drinks. While I start making some haycakes." "Wait, you're gonna make your delicious haycakes?!" Starlight gasped at what she just heard. "Mmm. Now I can't wait till breakfast is ready." Starlight sighed heavenly. Thinking about how tasty those haycakes are, even drool spilled out on the right side of her mouth. "Well I'll be done in 10 minutes. Oh, um. You might want to wipe that off." Spike pointed at his mouth showing Starlight where to wipe. "Oh. Heh thanks." Starlight blushed, not knowing she was drooling. After Spike finished making breakfast and the table was set. The only thing left to do was to tell Twilight that breakfast was ready. "Twilight, breakfast is ready!!", Spike yelled. But there was no reply from her. "She must have studied all night again." Starlight assumed since Twilight never responded. "I'll just go and get her." But before she could move, Spike raised his arm in front of her, "I got this. Alright Twilight, I guess me and Starlight will have to finish these eggs and HAYCAKES all by ourselves!" As if on cue, Twilight just popped right in front of them. "You made haycakes. Why didn't you tell me you were making them, I would have been down here sooner." Twilight said as she frantically went to go sit down. But before she could do anything, Spike removed her plate, "Before you eat, you could at least freshen up first." Spike suggested, since she looked like a tornado hit her from her late night research. Twilight was annoyed by this, "Ugh, fine." And just like that she was gone as the wind, and then teleported right back. "There, happy." Spike just smiled at her and set down her plate, "Yea, that's much better. Alright everypony lets eat." Everypony were silently enjoying the breakfast that Spike made, until Starlight spoke up after stuffing her face with Spikes' haycake." You know, you always out do yourself every time you make these haycakes Spike." "I'll say. That's your third one you had so far.", Twilight added. "I can't help it, they're just so good.", Starlight said stuffing her face again, savoring each bite. Spike just giggled at Starlight's compliment. Heh heh. It's fine Twilight, I'm just glad I can make my friends happy in anything I make or do." "I'll say.", Starlight began. "But you know... I wouldn't mind having a special somepony who can cook for me from time to time.", Starlight said as she smiled and blush from ear to ear at Spike. Spike smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up, "It's okay Starlight. I'm sure you'll find your special somepony someday, you are pretty amazing after all." Starlight gave Spike a deadpan look while Twilight giggled at Spike for not understanding what she meant. "So Twilight", Spike began. Is there anything you need for me to do this week?" "I don't think there is anything particularly I need for you to do. Why do you ask?", Twilight questioned Spike. Spike sighed in relief, "Okay that's good. It's because the other day the girls wanted me to help them with some stuff. Rarity wants help with picking out gems and fabric for her next fashion lineup. Rainbow Dash needs help with coaching rookies for the buckball team. Applejack needs extra help on her farm, Fluttershy wants me to help bath the animals. And Pinkie Pie wants me to taste test some of her new recipes she created." "Well Spike, since I have everything planned out for this week. I think I can manage with just me and Starlight." "Thanks Twilight" Spike was glad that Twilight could cover for him while he helped out her best friends. As Twilight was about to continue to eat, Spike announced something surprising. "There's also another thing I'm also going to do.", Spike began. "I'm going-", Spike was nervous and hesitant on what he wanted to tell them. "-I'm... I'm finally going to tell Rarity how I feel about her." Spike finally said with determination in his eyes. Starlight spit her food at Twilight as she also heard the shocking news. Twilight sat there speechless but was still able to wipe the food off her. "I see Spike. But what made you decide to finally tell Rarity you love her?", Twilight asked. "Well since I just turned 18 last month, I'm finally old enough to ask her to be my special somepony. I just want to try and see if we can be more than friends. I've been with you girls for years. From having adventures, helping out ponies with friendship problems, beating bad guys and now having every creature learn about friendship through this school that we have. You all have grown and achieved your dreams through it all. Applejack running her family business; Fluttershy becoming a great veterinarian, Rainbow Dash being part of the wonderbolts, Pinkie Pie spreading laughter world wide through her parties, Rarity opening boutiques from ponyville all the way to canterlot, Starlight becoming the headmare for the school of friendship and you are to become the new ruler of equestria." "Spike, I understand we have accomplished so much ever since we came to ponyville, even if Starlight has accomplished less than us.", Twilight stated. "Hey!", Starlight yelled feeling a bit hurt. Twilight giggled, "Heh heh, sorry. But what does that have to do with you confessing." "That's just it Twilight.", Spike began. "You girls have fulfilled your goals and all that's left is to enjoy life. As for Rarity, since she's all set, she would probably want to start a relationship with some random stallion, and what if this time said stallion could be the one Rarity has been looking for. I don't want that to happen when I haven't even told her how I feel!" After Spike finished explaining why he wanted to confess, it was Starlight's turn to say something. "If I may say something, I thought you gave up on Rarity a while back.", Starlight admitted. "What do you mean?", Spike wondered. "It's no surprise that you've had feelings for Rarity, even the whole town knows about it. But I've seen and so have are friends that every time you try to woo Rarity or to tell her you like her, something goes wrong. Like that time you bought her flowers, only to have a bunch of bees attack because they were pollinating. Or that time you invited her for a nice picnic out in the sun but forgot that it was going to rain that day. There was that time you wanted to invite her to go dancing but she couldn't go because she had meeting with photo finish. Your friends also told me about when you were younger, you tried to cheer Rarity up when one of her clientele didn't approve in one of her designs with the whole puppet show thing. So, you got her this book that had this spell which brings ideas to life but it backfired because she was making everything in ponyville into her own rough draft ideas." "Yes I know.", Spike felt depressed. "I've known how all my attempts always seem to fail. I know most ponies struggle but in the end it mostly works out. But for me, it never seems to work out no matter what I do, I'm just so unlucky." Spike said looking down at his plate. Starlight felt bad in making Spike depressed, she didn't mean put it that way. "I could be wrong though." Twilight was just as confused as Spike when she heard that new statement. What I mean is, despite with all your failed attempts you still keep trying. Most ponies would have given up thinking it's just not meant to be when they've fallen too many times. But you keep getting back up no matter how much you fall. And I think that is what might help you pull through at the end." Spiked walked over to Starlight and gave her a big hug as thanks. "Thank you, Starlight. That means a lot." Starlight didn't know how to respond. She was to flustered from this sudden contact. "Oh. Ugh, heh. You-. You're welcome Spike." Starlight relaxed herself for a second and returned the hug. "I'm done with my breakfast and I think I'm going to head out now. I don't want to be late with meeting Rarity at the fabric store, I'll talk to you girls later tonight." And with that, Spike got up and flew to his destination after he exited the castle. Once Spike was gone Starlight and Twilight got up and went to clean the dishes. Twilight got one of the plates and started to lather it with soap. As she was doing so Twilight brought up the conversation Starlight had earlier. "You know.", Twilight began. "It was very nice of you to cheer Spike after he started to feel down and doubt himself after the whole... Well you know." Twilight mentioned levitating the wet plate over to Starlight. Starlight took a hold of the plate with her levitation magic and dried it up with the rag. "I wasn't trying to sound mean or put Spike down. It's just that--". Starlight stopped her movements after she received the plate she was levitated too.. "You know my feelings for Spike is not so surprising. Heck, even the others girls know about it as well. He was the first one to look past my faults and just see me as me. Spike didn't care who I was back then, he cares who I am now and I'm so grateful for that. I was able to get closer to him without worrying about what I did back then and just be myself." Then Starlight looked down and felt disgusted with what she was about to say. "But when I heard Spike say he was going to confess his love, I just felt like I lost something important. And I guess my subconscious mind blurted out those things so that I wouldn't lose him. I'm just glad I didn't say anything worse. I know sometimes Rarity uses Spike for manual labor and I get little upset because of it. But I can't just dis her. Because I know deep down she doesn't mean to use him like that, because of how Spike is kind and willingly to do it for her just as much as he would with anypony!" Starlight finished trying hard not to burst out crying. Twilight was just dumbfounded at this revelation from Starlight. "I'm thrilled that you care so much for Spike. It warms my heart knowing I''m friends with somepony so wonderful." What Twilight said next shocked Starlight. "To be honest with you I... I- I'm also in love with Spike." Twilight admitted blushing from ear to ear. Starlight didn't know what to say. "You... How... Since when." "To tell you the truth, I don't know myself. I've been best friends with him since the day I hatched him. I used to think he was the only friend I needed because of how close we got. But I was wrong when I started to make other friends, especially you and the girls. Even with all the friends I've made, Spike made sure I was taken care of. Made sure I was fed, had good sleep, and helped with assignments from Celestia. Lets face the facts, I would have been a wreck if he wasn't with me as my assistant. But most of all is how Spike always believed in me even when I start to doubt myself or when I'm "Twilighting" as you all call it. I think- No, I know that's the reason why I fell for him. And to be honest, I thought he would outgrow his crush on Rarity when we first came here but he never faltered. So, it was hard to believe his crush turned into true love. "You did?", Starlight began. "Then you could talk to Spike that maybe he's still infatuated, he'll understand if it came-" "I wouldn't do that Starlight. It's not up to me on who Spike should fall in love with. It wouldn't be right of me to force him to stop seeing Rarity. Just how I can't stop you from loving Spike so I can get the advantage, what mare would I be if I did that." "You're right. I don't know what I was thinking.", Starlight said turning her head to the side not wanting to look Twilight in the eye. "Look. I know it hurts to see somepony, er in this case dragon to be in love with somepony that's not you. But forcing him to change his mind won't make him see you or me in romantic way. We should be the best friends he has and at least cheer him on, and hope for the best with Rarity.", Twilight smiled. "Yeah, I understand Twilight. I just wished he knew how much he means to me the same way he feels with Rarity." Twilight saw how this was affecting Starlight. So, she came up to her and gave her a big hug. "Don't feel sad Starlight. We don't know if Rarity feels the same way about Spike. If that happens then we both could cheer each other on to gain Spikes' affection. After we support him from his heartbreak of course." "I'd love that.", Starlight beamed. To be continued... > Ch.2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- We last left off with Spike taking off after he left the castle. We see him flying through the sky waving at ponies passing by or other ponies greeting him when they saw a familiar purple dragon flying over them. Spike enjoyed feeling the wind throughout his entire body. "Having the wind against my face feels so great. I can see why Rainbow Dash is always pumped when she flies, and show off while she is at it." Spike felt thrilled to be able to fly anywhere he could go. Instead of walking or asking Twilight if she could teleport him, or having her to take him there. He was having the time of his life in the sky, until he recently remembered something. "Dang it. I was having so much fun and left the castle in a hurry that I didn't check what time it was.", Spike realized." Luckily I know where to go." So, Spike went to ponyvilles' clock tower that was in front of Fluttershy's cottage. 'Okay it's 9:30 AM. Which means I'm thirty minutes early in meeting Rarity at the Jewelry Shop at 10 o'Clock.', Spike thought after he arrived at the tower. "This is great!", Spike beamed with enthusiasm. "That means I can surprise her with something amazing." Woo hoo!!" Spike said shooting his arm into the air. Once Spike had his great idea, he flew slowly around ponyville thinking what to get Rarity. "Hmm. What should I get her? Chocolates? Nah. I think Rarity wouldn't want to have sweets before lunch. How about a necklace? Nope, bad idea. That would make me look desperate, plus where am I going to get the bits for it. Hmm." Spike kept thinking for a while until it finally hit him. "I got it. I know what to get her. Flowers, and not just any flowers. Her favorite ones, white roses. And it's a good thing I know the ponies who can help me get them." Spike imagined how the day would go. First, Spike would surprise Rarity with the bouquet roses. She would be speechless at first, then she'll cry tears of joy with how thoughtful my gift is, I might get a kiss out of it if I'm lucky. Then we'll go to some place nice to eat where I can charm her as we have conversion. That will show her how I can be comfortable and enjoyable to be around with. Lastly, when I take her back home, that's when I'll tell her. "I think today is going to be my lucky day, I can feel it." With that being said, Spike flew straight to Daisy, Lily and Rose's Flower shop. As he was getting close he could see that Daisy and Lily were outside selling flowers to customers who were either getting gifts for their loved one/ones or their soon to be special somepony. "Hey Lily, Daisy.", Spike greeted. "You girls having a wonderful morning?" "Hello Spike.", Daisy said. "Hi Spike.", Lily said. "We were.", Daisy began. "But it just got a hundred percent better once you arrived, isn't that right Lily.", Daisy asked. "Correct you are Daisy.", Lily answered while they both gave Spike bedroom eyes. Spike just stood there with his eyes closed, nervously laughing. "Heh heh. Yeah, right. Anyway, I came by so I could buy some white roses. Would you ladies care to help me out?", Spike asked. "White roses you say.", Lily repeated. "I think you might want to see Rose (Roseluck) who is inside the shop if it's about roses. If it was about lilies then I could help you there." "Or if you wanted Daisies then 'I'm your mare'." Daisy emphasized, getting a little closer to Spike. Spike just continued the conversation, not knowing what Daisy was referring. "Rose huh? Alright then, I'll go and see her inside. Thanks girls." But before Spike could go inside, something or somepony pulled back his arm. "If it's not too much trouble. Could you tell us who are the roses for?", Lily asked. "Puh-lease Lily. Why even ask that. Everypony knows that Spike is madly in love with Rarity. Of course he'd get them for her" "I know that Daisy but we don't if they are for her. For all we know he might be giving those flowers to another mare." "No, she's right. I am getting those roses for Rarity." "See, I told you.", Daisy boasted. "See, they're part of my plan to woo her in order to get the confidence to finally tell her that I love her. ", Spike explained to them. "I've been friends with her for so long... I know what she likes, dislikes, what her are hobbies and how she acts like a drama queen over little things. I love everything that defines her, be it good or bad. That's why I've decided to stop hiding my feelings and ask her out." "That is just so... So wonderful! Rarity is very lucky to have somedragon that cares so deeply for her!" Lily cupped her own two cheeks, swaying her head as she swooned over Spikes' determination to win Rarity's heart. "I'll say. I wished I had somepony who care about me deeply as you do for her.", Daisy added wiping a tear from her eye, feeling that she will never find her very own knight and shiny scales. "Don't worry girls, I'm sure you both will find your special someponies. You both are very beautiful with lots of charming features. If my heart wasn't set on Rarity, I wouldn't mind asking either one of you on a date.", Spike said with a toothy grin, trying to bring their hopes up. Both Daisy and Lily were left speechless. They just looked at Spike with their faces flushed and hearts beating so fast they could burst. "Thanks Spike", They both smiled at his compliment. "No problem girls. Well, I'll go talk to Rose now. Talk to you girls later.", Spike waved. "You know, if it Rarity turns you down. We'll be delighted to take you out anytime.", Daisy whispered. "What was that?" "It was nothing. Right Lily." Lily giggled at Daisys' comment. "Heh heh. Yeah. It was nothing Spike." Spike just shrugged it off and entered the shop. Before Spike entered the shop, we see Rose sitting behind the register with a stallion. While Spike was talking with Lily and Daisy outside, Rose was exchanging bits with said customer. Rose waved goodbye. "Thanks for stopping by. Come again." After the stallion left the shop, Rose's expression went from joyous to a gloomy one and then face planted on the counter. "Ugh. I don't get it. Out of all the Stallions that have entered and left, not one of them got little smitten looking at me or look my way, except to try and buy something. I even put in the effort to put makeup on to look a little more attractive, but I got no reaction what so ever. Some of them I can understand since they were for their loved ones but most were just gifts for family members or to make a room look more lively. Sigh, I should just live the rest of my life as a cat mare." As Rose was venting out her frustration she heard the door open and sees a familiar purple dragon enter the store. "Hello. Rose are you in here?", Spike asked. Rose quickly changed her expression and put on a fake smile so that Spike wouldn't notice she was feeling down. "Hey there Spike. What can I help you with today?" Before Spike could give an answer, he became a little awestruck when he saw Rose but pushed it off because he needed to prioritize on what he came here for. "I came today so I could buy some white roses. Preferably a bouquet of white roses. I'll be so grateful if you have them." "As a matter of face we just got a shipment of them today. Excuse me while I go get them", Rose said. "Thank you so much.", Spike bowed. While Rose went to go grab the bouquet she asked Spike what was the occasion. "So, Spike. Care to tell me what you plan to do with these white roses, if that's not too much to ask?" "Certainly.", Spike answered. "What I'm planning on is to get these roses which is part of my plan to woo Rarity and ask her to be more than friends. I've always wanted to tell her but I would chicken out at the end. But not this time. I'm going through with it till the very end." "That sounds so Romantic.", Rose cooed. "Since this is a special occasion I think I'll give you a discount. How does 50 bits sound to you?" "I believe that's a fair price." Spike took out his wallet and got the 50 bits. "Here you go." He gave her the bits and Rose gave him the flowers. "Thanks so much Rose." "No problem. Come back anytime.", Rose waved goodbye. As Spike was about to leave, he stopped and turned his head sideways to look back at Rose. "By the way, you look very stunning Rose." Rose was flabbergasted to what Spike just said. "Excuse me?" "Your makeup.", Spike pointed out. "I think it looks good on you." Spike said having a red hue across his face while he scratched his face with his finger. "When did you..." "I noticed it the moment I saw you, and was even taken aback for a moment. You should be careful though, you might end up having this store filled with stallions just to see you, haha... But if I'm being honest, I think you look beautiful even without it.", Spike beamed with a sincere smile. As he was about to leave he took a quick look at the clock to see how much much time he had left. "Well, I'm going to head out. See you later." And with that, Spike left the shop. If he would have stayed a few seconds more, he would have seen Rose with her face as red as a tomato. "He notice. Out of all the stallions that came in, he was the only one that noticed. What's more is that my heart is still racing no matter how many times I replay it over and over. I now see why most of the mares in ponyville have taken a liking to him. And now I think I've fallen for him as well." After Spike exited the shop he took off into the sky again and went towards Raritys' boutique with her bouquet of white roses. "Okay. Now that I got the roses, all I got to do now is go meet Rarity. Luckily I checked the time before I left. I have 15 minutes left before 10." Spike flew across town in a slow and steady pace so he wouldn't harm his present for Rarity. He kept looking down to see if she was already headed towards the Jewelry shop or is still at home getting ready to leave. It took Spike a minute until he spotted Rarity eight feet away from her house talking with somebody never met before. "Hey Rarityyy!", Spike shouted, slowly descended to the ground while hiding the flowers behind his back. "Spikey-wikey, darling!" Rarity was a bit confused as to why Spike was meeting them so early. "What are you doing here so early? I thought we were gonna meet up at 10?" There it was. The nickname that Spike loved to hear. For some odd reason Spike would be filled with pure joy when Rarity called him that. "Oh yeah, about that. After I finished eating breakfast I kinda left the castle in a hurry without checking what time it was first, heh heh.", Spike explained rubbing the back of his head. "By the way, may I ask who this is." Spike asked looking at said creature. Meet Sunny Snow, she is a kirin with her coat as white as snow and a light-bluish mane. Her scales and; somewhat clawish hooves are grey. "Oh, where are my manners. This here is Sunny Snow, she's from the Kirin Village.", Rarity said, extending her right hoof at Sunny. Ever since Applejack and Fluttershys' trip to Kirin Village a while back, kirins have been exploring all over Equestria to experience what they've missed from years of solitude. "Hi, I'm Sunny Snow. You can call me Snow if you'd like. I hope you don't mind me tagging along." Sunny said, extending her hoof to shake Spike's claw. Spike extended his arm and shook Sunny's hoof. "Hello, the names Spike Tatsu. Nice to meet you Snow. And no, I would be delighted if you'd join us." "Well, if we're all set, then lets go." Rarity started to trot to their destination. But before they could make any further Spike decided it was time to give Rarity her gift. "Before we go Rarity there is something I want to give you." Spike unveiled what he was hiding behind his back and presented them to Rarity. He knew she loved his gift because of the way her eyes widened and how her cheeks were getting very red. "Why Spike are those white Rose-" "ROSES!!, Sunny yelled. "I'm achoo so sorry but I'm achoo, extre- achoo -mly allergic to roses." Sunny just kept sneezing and sneezing that her nose was starting to get red and her eyes were getting watery. 'What do I do', Rarity began in thought. 'I don't want to tell Spike to get rid of them, it would break my heart to hurt him for doing something so thoughtful as this. And I don't want waste time in making him go back to my boutique. I want make sure I have all the necessities for the designs I need to make today. I promised my clientele I would have his wardrobe done by the end of the day. Oh, of all the worst things that could happen, this is the! Worst! Possible! Thing!' Rarity had made her decision and she did not like it, not one bit. "Spikey-Wikey. I'm awful for saying this but could you di- dispose of those." Spike didn't know what to think. 'Why? Why would she say that. I got these for her so I could show her how I feel. So she can understand that I-' Spike paused for a bit. 'No. I shouldn't be thinking that way. Be reasonable, why would she tell me that with a sorrowful expression if she didn't care. That's enough for me to not succumb to my own greed while another suffers.' 'But Why not?' Spike quickly looked around to identify where that horrendous voice came from but saw no pony close by them. "Spikey?...", Rarity called out, feeling guilty that she might have hurt Spike in the most cruelest way. Spike quickly turned back to Rarity who looked worried about him, he then closed his eyes and took a deep breath to collect himself. "Sure, I understand Rarity." He smiled at her. Spike looked around too see what to do with the roses. He didn't want to give them to somepony he hasn't known for that long. The only logical thing to do was to throw them away in the trash. Spike headed to one. As he was about to throw them something caught his eye, more like he saw certain pen pal delivering mail to a certain pony. Spike looked backed at the bouquet and thought it be such a waste to throw away these beautiful white roses. So, Spike turned and flew straight to gabby. "Heyy! Gabbyyy!" Gabby turned around to see who was calling her and was delighted to see it was Spike. "Hi Spike! How are you?" Spike landed next to Gabby. "I'm glad I saw you. Here, I want you to take these." Spike presented her the white rose and put it in her talons. Gabby went wide eyed and her cheeks flushed red all over. "Oh, um. Spike I- I don't know what to say. This is so thou-." But before she could express her gratitude Spike flew off. "Sorry Gabby. I have to head back now.", Spike yelled, heading back to Rarity and Sunny. "Gee, I never knew Spike could be so shy.", Gabby said, looking at Spike leave. Spike landed next to Rarity. "Alright Rarity, I took care of the roses, is Snow okay?", Spike asked. "Yeah, I'm alright. After you took off I took some allergy medication to help relieve my eyes and sinuses. I'm very sorry that you had to give up those roses for my sake." Sunny said, bowing her head to Spike as she apologized. "It's fine. I don't mind, things happen sometimes." Spike smiled to show her that everything is okay. "So, are we ready to head out?" "Yes darling, I'm ready.", Rarity answered. "Yup. Same here.", Sunny replied. With that, they were on there way. While walking towards to their destination, Spike popped a question. "So, Snow. Any reason why you wanted to come along with us? If you don't mind me asking?", Spike questioned. "Not at all.", Sunny began. "You see Spike, I actually wanted to tag along with Rarity so I could to take notes on how she creates her marvelous designs on fashion. The reason for this is because on one of my exploration at Canterlot, I became amazed how most ponies wore amazing and sophisticated clothing. I was so inspired by Canterlots' customs that I wanted to not only make those types of clothes for every kirin in my village! But to show my own wondrous fashion ideas to all of Equestria! I first asked ponies around Canterlot if they could show me the ropes but none would offer to help. Most of them either laughed or told me to get out of their place of business., I'm, dreadfully sorry about that Sunny.", Rarity apologize, hoping that Sunny doesn't think that all ponies in Canterlot are jerks. "I guess there are some ponies who still act snobbish." "It's quite alright Rarity. Most of them looked busy anyway." "That may be so, but they should at least give some form of help. It was good thing you stumbled upon Sassy Saddles; a friend of mine and told her about how I could lend a helping hoof." "To Which I was thrilled that you'd actually help me. I thought you'd be a very busy mare since you're famous around Canterlot. Not just because how you saved Equestria countless of times but also help other famous ponies in Canterlot; Photo Finish, Fancy Pants, Coloratura, etc. But most of all is how you put others first than your own." Sunny explained. Rarity got embarrassed at hearing Sunny praise her. "Oh stop, you're making me blush darling. I'm not all that great." "Don't be so modest Rarity, you have done a lot of amazing feats through the years. I know because I was there to see those astonishing things, with and w/out the girls being there." "Flattery will get you nowhere Spikey boo." As the group kept on discussing with each other, they hadn't notice that they were already at their destination. "Looks like we're here.", Sunny declared. "We were talking for so long that we hadn't notice how close we were to getting here.", Rarity said. "Shall we?" "Sure thing.", Sunny replied. "Like wise.", Spike added. After two hours from going to the Jewelry Shop then to the fabric store, and Sunny taking notes on how Rarity does her thing. Rarity decided it was time for a break. "Phew, that was a long errand.", Rarity said as all three exited the fabric store. "I'll say. We've purchased a lot more stuff than we normally do.", Spike added, carrying some bags and boxes while Rarity levitated the other half of their items. "Yes, indeed. But I think I'm getting quite famished. We should go and get some lunch, care to join us Sunny?", Rarity asked. "Sorry, but I think i'll pass on this one. I got what I came here to do and I want to get started on what I've learned. Plus, I already made plans to go eat with a friend." "It's quite alright darling. It was fun having you with us. Though next time you should definitely come." Rarity said, hugging her goodbye. "I'll be glad too." Sunny said returning the hug. "Goodbye." Rarity said as she started to leave. "Come along Spike." "Coming.", Spike responded. Before Spike could take another step, Sunny pulled him back to say something. "Don't tell Rarity I said this but I lied." "How come?", Spike asked, wondering why she would lie to her. "I did it so I could give you two some alone time. I had a feeling that you liked Rarity more than just a friend. The way you would smile and blush every time you spoke with her or how you would glance at her when she wan't looking." "I was never really good at hiding my feelings.", Spike laughed. "That's why everypony in ponyville knows who I've always liked. "It's not a bad thing. It's actually one of the good things about you. Which is kinda why I've taking a liking to you.", She said, looking at him with bedroom eyes. Spike didn't know what to think, he just looked at her with a shocked expression. "Oh, Snow I- I don't know wha-" "Heh heh. Just kidding." Sunny giggled. "Spike are you coming? You know you shouldn't keep a lady waiting." "You should probably go." "Yeah. I'll see ya.", Spike said. "Oh, and one more thing.", Sunny stated as Spike was leaving. "When I was speaking with Rarity back at the boutique, it sounded to me that she is very fond of you." "What, really?! Or are you just messing with me?" Sunny just laughed and headed the opposite direction. "Who knows?" Spike ignored what was said and went straight to Rarity. "What were you talking about with Sunny?" Rarity asked, wondering what took Spike so long. "Oh, she just wanted to know where she could get some sweets around here. So I told her about Sugarcube Corner and where to go." "That was nice you darling. Now where should we go eat?", Rarity wondered. "I think I have just the place." To be continued...
