The Changeling Experiment
School was out and spring break was about to begin, Ocellus, Smolder, Yona, Gallus, and Silverstream were at the train station and ready to go home, Sandbar was also there since his family did not live in Ponyville,
"Isn't this exciting, we finally get to go home and see our families again!" Silverstream said excitedly,
"Yeah, one problem, I don't have a family." Gallus replied,
"I'm sure you'll find someone to see, Gallus, you can always come to us if you get lonely." Sandbar said,
"So, what are you all doing during the break?" Ocellus asked,
"I'm going to have to spend time with Garble, I've been trying to get him to have a better relationship with Spike." Smolder replied,
"Terramar and I are going to see our cousins and do fun activities." Silverstream said,
"I'm going to be having a spring solstice party with my family." Sandbar said,
"Yona and yaks are going to have annual spring smashing fest." Yona said,
"Well, I'm not sure yet, probably sell scones with Gilda." Gallus said,
"How about you, Ocellus, what are you doing?" Sandbar asked,
"Well, probably study, and spend time with my family, I'm not sure, yet." Ocellus replied, and the train arrives,
"Ooh, the train's here." Silverstream said, and they get on board. The train begins to travel around while the six were on board,
"Wow, Equestria sure is beautiful in the spring." Silverstream said,
"Yakyakistan just as beautiful." Yona replied,
"Isn't Yakyakistan always covered in snow?" Gallus asked,
"Well, yes, but still beautiful." Yona replied,
"The Dragon Lands look the same, no matter what." Smolder said,
"Yeah, Griffonstone, too." Gallus said,
"So does the hive, we're always inside." Ocellus said,
"Mount Aris is very pretty in the spring, but Seaquestria looks the same all the time." Silverstream said, the train stops at Canterlot,
"Well, this is my stop, see you all in a week." Sandbar said, and they say bye to him as he got off. The train continues to go north,
"Wow, is northern Equestria always covered in snow?" Ocellus asked,
"Yes, so is Yona's home, we can see Crystal Empire from Yakyakistan." Yona said,
"I wanna go out and play in the snow right now." Silverstream said, Gallus and Smolder did not like the thought, the train arrives at Yakyakistan,
"Yona go here, see all in week." Yona said, and they say bye to her as she got off. The train continues and begins going east, Gallus groans as it arrives at his home,
"You okay, Gallus?" Ocellus asked,
"I'm not looking forward to going back home." Gallus replied,
"Do you really hate home that much?" Smolder asked,
"Have you seen it? It's a dump." Gallus replied,
"Oh, come on, how bad can it be?" Silverstream asked, and the train arrives at Griffonstone, they see the place,
"Oh." Silverstream said as she saw Griffonstone was worse than she thought,
"Well, I'll be going, hopefully, this spring break will end soon." Gallus said, and he gets off while they say bye to him. The train begins to go south and Smolder becomes excited,
"Garble is making new poetry, I'll be looking forward to hearing what he came up with." Smolder said,
"Can you have him come to the school one day?" Ocellus asked,
"Yeah, beatnik poetry sounds fun." Silverstream said, and the train arrives at the Dragon Lands,
"Well, off I go, see you all in a week." Smolder said, and they say bye to her as she got off the train. The train begins to go south a bit and then turns to the west,
"Well, Silverstream, looks like you and I are the last ones off." Ocellus said,
"Yes, riding a train is so exciting!" Silverstream replied,
"How so?" Ocellus asked,
"I get to see so many different landscapes and places." Silverstream replied, Ocellus chuckled and the train arrives at Mount Aris,
"I'll be going now, see you in a week, Ocellus." Silverstream said,
"Bye, Silverstream." Ocellus replied, and she got off the train. The train heads north while Ocellus sighs, she was happy to arrive home and see her family again, the train arrives at the closest train stop to the Changeling Kingdom and she gets off, the train drives off and Ocellus flies home.
Ocellus flies home and saw her family waiting for her, they were her mother, her father, her younger brother, and her younger sister, her father's name was Metamorphosis, her mother's name was Pupa, her younger brother's name was Angiosperm, and her younger sister's name was Gymnosperm, Ocellus arrives home and saw her family outside,
"Ocellus!" Angiosperm and Gymnosperm said together happily as they ran to her, Ocellus hugs the two and Metamorphosis and Pupa walk to them,
"Welcome home, Ocellus." Metamorphosis said,
"Thanks, father." Ocellus replied,
"Come on, the entire hive is waiting for you." Pupa said, and the five head home.
Ocellus arrives home with her family and the entire changeling kingdom welcomed her home, which made Ocellus happy, she sees Thorax and Pharynx walking over to her,
"Welcome home, Ocellus, we've been waiting for you, Pharynx has suggested an idea to help overcome that defect certain changelings have, he'll talk about it tomorrow, so go ahead and relax for today." Thorax said, Ocellus smiles and she and her family head to their home and have a party to welcome Ocellus back home,
"So, what is the idea Pharynx has?" Ocellus asked,
"We don't know, he hasn't said anything." Metamorphosis replied,
"All we do know he's got our kingdom's best doctors with him, so maybe it's an experiment." Pupa said,
"Ooh, I wanna try." Gymnosperm said,
"Me too." Angiosperm said,
"Calm down, you two, let's wait until Pharynx says what it is." Ocellus replied,
"Well, off to bed now, you see all in the morning." Pupa said, and all five of them went to bed and slept.
Ocellus wakes up the next morning and her family was already awake, they all have plants and vegetables for breakfast and share their love with one another, they also drink water with their breakfasts, some of the changelings used plants to make art and painted the walls with paint Ocellus brought from Equestria to the Changeling Kingdom, their home was becoming more decorative as time passed. A peaceful morning passes and every changeling gathered around Pharynx, he waited for all of them, he had several changelings with him, most of them were little kids,
"I have called you all here today because I have an idea to overcome a certain defect, as you all know, some changelings in this kingdom cannot transform into anything, as these changelings here will show you." Pharynx said, the changelings with him try to transform but could not,
"My idea is an experiment to try to overcome this defect, but I need a volunteer, any volunteer, our best doctors will conduct surgery and try to see if we can change them that way, but one drawback will be that they will be stuck in that new form for who knows how long, what you want to be changed into will be a choice of your own, now, do I have any volunteers?" Pharynx asked, the changelings were reluctant and they all shook their heads while uncomfortable,
"I know it's risky, and nochangeling wants to do it, but it has to be done, I would volunteer myself, but I have to oversee the experiment." Pharynx said, the changelings still refused since they were scared of what could go wrong, a minute passes and there were still no volunteers, Pharynx sighs and gets a black hat,
"Alright then, we'll hold a drawing lot, you all are to write your name on a sheet of paper and place it into the hat after folding it, the hat will be shaken and a name will be chosen, it could be any of you." Pharynx said, and the changelings were all given a sheet of paper by Thorax,
"You too, Thorax?" Ocellus asked,
"I'm not comfortable with this idea, either, but it is the best idea we have so far to fix the defect." Thorax replied, Ocellus sighs and she and the other changelings write their names on the papers, fold them in half, and place them in the hat. Every changeling in the Changeling Kingdom except for Thorax, Pharynx, and the doctors involved in the experiment put their names in the hat, Pharynx gets the hat back and he shakes it around while the changelings watch nervously, Pharynx reaches for a folded sheet of paper with his front left hoof, he unfolds it with his front right hoof and reads the name, he puts the sheet of paper down and looks forward,
"Ocellus." Pharynx said, Ocellus becomes surprised while the changelings look at her.
Ocellus was with Pharynx and she saw the doctors involved, there was five of them,
"Okay, Ocellus, say hello to the doctors, this is Interphase, this is Prophase, this is Metaphase, this is Anaphase, and this is Telephase." Pharynx said, Ocellus saw Interphase, Prophase, and Telephase were males while Metaphase and Anaphase were females,
"Hello, Ocellus, you must still be tired from coming home." Anaphase said,
"A little." Ocellus replied,
"Please, go on and have a seat, and relax, we're going to make this experiment as painless as possible." Telephase said, Ocellus smiled, she looks and saw her family smiling as well,
"So, what do you wish to be surgically changed into?" Metaphase asked, Ocellus thought about it,
"I can't decide, there's so many objects and animals that I like." Ocellus replied,
"Well, you have to choose something, or we'll have nothing to work with." Interphase said,
"How about your family, what would they want you to changed into?" Prophase asked, and he looks at them,
"Change her into anything you wish." Metamorphosis said, her mother and siblings nod,
"Well, if this experiment is to try to change me into something else without me changing, then why don't you all just reverse the hormones, pheromones, and genes in my body?" Ocellus asked,
"Whoa, Ocellus, we can't do that, the results on what happens to you will be unpredictable." Prophase replied,
"Well, I can't decide what I want to be, so maybe it's the best course to do." Ocellus said,
"Alright, we're going to give you several shots, and we know how much you hate them, so let's get it over with, fold up your front right leg as much as you can." Anaphase said, and Ocellus does, she was given a shot and it ended quickly,
"What's it do?" Ocellus asked,
"This will make it possible for us to mold you, we will be able to change you around and make you how we wish, but it takes time to set in, about forty eight hours, so come back here in two days." Metaphase replied, and they finish giving her the shot,
"There, that's all for now." Telephase said, and Ocellus went home with her family. Ocellus arrives home with her family and they have lunch,
"How are you feeling, dear?" Pupa asked,
"Actually, I feel no different." Ocellus replied,
"Are you okay, sis?" Angiosperm asked,
"Yes, I feel fine." Ocellus replied, her family smiled,
"I wanna hear about what happened at the school." Gymnosperm said,
"After lunch, Gymnosperm." Ocellus replied, and they finish lunch and then gather together,
"Okay, there was one time when I was Applejack's class, and Yona and I had to grow an apple tree, I tried planting them but Yona kept running over them and smashing them, and we had to clean up everything and eat applesauce for lunch, it was a mess, but we had fun." Ocellus said,
"Did you bring any gifts from Equestria?" Gymnosperm asked,
"Not this time, no." Ocellus replied,
"What else happened?" Angiosperm asked,
"Well... um... oh, there was one time when Gallus and Smolder were racing Rainbow Dash and I scared them by changing into a bugbear and they flew all around the place and knocked things down in Ponyville, it was actually pretty funny to watch." Ocellus replied, her family smiled,
"Did anything else happen?" Metamorphosis asked,
"Yeah, Silverstream got curious again, she is now fascinated with arcade games, she's been playing them all the time now, she seems to be having a lot of fun, she and I tried a dancing game together and we both liked it." Ocellus replied, her family chuckles,
"So, how have things between you and Sandbar?" Pupa asked, Ocellus becomes baffled and blushes,
"Yeah, isn't that the guy you like?" Metamorphosis asked,
"Um, Sandbar's alright, and there's nothing going on between us, he's just a really good friend." Ocellus replied,
"Don't you have romantic feelings for him?" Angiosperm asked, Ocellus continued to blush,
"Um, no." Ocellus replied,
"Then why are you blushing?" Gymnosperm asked,
"It just caught me by surprise." Ocellus replied,
"So... is that Sandbar guy going to come here during the break?" Metamorphosis asked,
"I don't think so, he's far away from here." Ocellus replied,
"Well, tell him to come, I'd like to meet him one day." Pupa said, Ocellus smiled,
"Well, go on and enjoy your day, Ocellus, your friends are ready to see you." Metamorphosis said, and Ocellus traveled through the Changeling Kingdom. Ocellus went to go see the other changelings and they all talk about their days and play games together, Ocellus also saw the young changeling children in the hive and would play with them, she loved children very much, and always wanted to spend quality time with them, they ask her how she felt and she said she was fine, today was a normal day and nothing of interest happened. Ocellus laid in her bed and was wearing pajamas, it was a two-piece, she had on a long-sleeve button-up shirt and pants, both were light pink while the buttons on her shirt were white, she bought it while she was in Equestria, she thought about what she was going through while laying in bed and felt fine, she thought maybe Pharynx's experiment was not so bad after all, she closed her eyes and slept with a smile on her face.
Ocellus wakes up the next morning and felt rejuvenated, she yawns while stretching and takes her pajamas off, she uses the bathroom and headed out to have breakfast with her family,
"Any differences?" Metamorphosis asked,
"Nope, I still feel the same." Ocellus replied,
"How about walking around? Is it any different?" Pupa asked,
"Nope." Ocellus replied, and they have breakfast,
"Wanna play tag, big sister?" Gymnosperm asked,
"Sure." Ocellus replied, and they finish breakfast,
"I'm it." Ocellus said, and she plays tag with Angiosperm and Gymnosperm, the three laugh as they run through the Changeling Kingdom, the three have fun and the other child and teenage changelings join and have fun together, they all stop to have lunch and continue playing afterwards until dinner, they all continue playing tag until it was bedtime and Ocellus slept another peaceful night.
Ocellus wakes up the next morning and has breakfast, she went to go see the doctors shortly afterwards with her family coming with her, Thorax and Pharynx were there as well,
"Okay, Ocellus, just try to relax, and you should be fine." Anaphase said, and she laid down while her family watched, Thorax looks at them,
"Remember, Ocellus didn't choose what she wanted to be changed into, so we have no idea how she will change or what will happen." Thorax said, and Ocellus was anesthetized shortly afterwards and unconscious,
"Alright, I'll let you all watch, there are no secrets or strange doings, just regular surgery, now, of course, we can't show her while she's undergoing surgery, but you will see the end results." Pharynx said, and they watch while the doctors work, they used surgical tools and magic to perform surgery on Ocellus, they see light blue blood on the bed sheets, but Ocellus was unconscious and feeling nothing, they all watch the surgery and saw it was going well, but Metamorphosis and Pupa were still nervous. The surgery continues for several hours and there was an uneasy quietness in the area, the surgery finishes after several hours,
"Ocellus is still asleep, she'll be asleep for probably a few hours." Anaphase said,
"Can we see her?" Pupa asked,
"Yes, you may." Anaphase replied, and they go, they see Ocellus looked exactly the same as she did before the surgery, which relieved her family,
"Look, our daughter is okay." Pupa said,
"Yes, and she'll soon wake up." Metamorphosis replied,
"Big sis! Big sis!" Angiosperm and Gymnosperm said together loudly and excitedly,
"No, stop it, you two, Ocellus needs her rest." Metamorphosis said, the two look down with sorrow,
"Well, go on home, I'll call for you all when she reawakens." Pharynx said, and they all leave. Thorax was watching Ocellus sleep and went to Pharynx,
"Pharynx, I'm still thinking this experiment is a bad idea, we don't know what's going to happen to Ocellus." Thorax said,
"I'm just as nervous as you are, but at this rate, it's the only hope we got to help cure those changelings that can't transform." Pharynx replied,
"I still think we should've done the experiment on a changeling who can't change." Thorax said,
"It makes no difference, we just need Ocellus to not change and see how she evolves naturally." Pharynx replied,
"What did you all do to her?" Thorax asked,
"We altered the hormones and pheromones in her body, and her genetic structure, we also shut down the gland that lets her transform, so even if she wants to transform, she can't." Telephase replied,
"This isn't a good idea, Pharynx, we don't know how her appearance and behavior are going to change." Thorax said,
"I'm aware of that, but they only did what Ocellus told them to do." Pharynx replied,
"This experiment also brings up several questions as well." Thorax said,
"Like what?" Pharynx asked,
"What if her behavior becomes worse than Chrysalis'?" Thorax asked,
"Then we must work together to knock her unconscious if that happens." Pharynx replied,
"What if the experiment isn't done by the time she has to go back to school?" Thorax asked,
"I've already thought about that, if that is to occur, we are to tell Princess Twilight and her friends that Ocellus is very sick and cannot get out of bed, and that the sickness is contagious and she cannot be visited, and she'll have to remain here to get some rest." Pharynx replied,
"What about her five friends? What do we tell them?" Thorax asked,
"The exact same thing." Pharynx replied,
"We could've contacted the ponies to have them cast a spell to cure the defected changelings." Thorax said,
"The unicorns can cast a magic spell that can make the changelings who can't transform be able to transform? I doubt even the ponies can do something like that." Pharynx replied, Thorax was reluctant to agree, but Pharynx did have a point, that did sound too good to be true,
"Nevertheless, the experiment shall continue for now, I already told the changelings to block all exits so Ocellus doesn't try to get out of the hive." Pharynx said, Thorax sighs since he did not like the experiment, he went over to Ocellus,
"Ocellus, you may not hear me, but I hope this experiment doesn't leave any psychological scars on you." Thorax said, and he continued to watch her while Ocellus slept. Several hours pass and Ocellus wakes up, her vision was blurry at first, it corrects itself and Ocellus saw straight,
"Hello? Where is everychangeling?" Ocellus asked,
"Go get her parents." Ocellus heard Pharynx say, his voice sounded distant and echoed,
"Pharynx?" Ocellus asked,
"I'm here, Ocellus." Ocellus heard Pharynx say, his voice still sounded distant, she looks to her left and saw him, she also saw a blurry figure looking at her, but she made it out and saw it was Thorax,
"Thorax?" Ocellus asked,
"Can you see me, Ocellus?" Thorax asked, his voice sounded distant as well,
"Yes, but you're very blurry, your voice sounds very far away as well." Ocellus replied, Thorax becomes very worried,
"Give it time, your majesty, Ocellus is just readjusting to her surroundings." Interphase said,
"How long will that take?" Thorax asked,
"Should be close to done around now." Interphase replied, Ocellus continues to readjust and finishes,
"Okay, I can see fine now." Ocellus said,
"Can you hear fine, too?" Thorax asked,
"Uh-huh." Ocellus replied,
"Okay, good, the surgery was a success." Metaphase said, they hear walking and saw Metamorphosis, Pupa, Angiosperm, and Gymnosperm coming, Angiosperm and Gymnosperm become excited and run to Ocellus,
"Ocellus!" Angiosperm and Gymnosperm said excitedly,
"Hello, Angiosperm and Gymnosperm." Ocellus said, Metamorphosis and Pupa walk over to her,
"How do you feel, Ocellus?" Pupa asked,
"Fine, my vision was blurry and I had trouble hearing when I woke up, though, but I'm fine now." Ocellus replied,
"Can we take her back, Thorax?" Metamorphosis asked,
"Yes, of course." Thorax replied, and Ocellus tried to get out of the bed, but she fell and tried to stand, the doctors had to carry her and have her be able to walk again, Ocellus was able to walk again after several minutes, she goes to her family after the doctors let go, they were ready to leave,
"Wait." Pharynx said, they look at him and he walks to them while holding a book with a dark green cover on it in his front left hoof,
"This is a diary, Ocellus, I would like for you to write down your feelings and any behavior changes you notice in yourself, and one more thing, the gland in your body that makes you transform has been shut down, so you won't be able to change." Pharynx said, Ocellus takes the diary,
"Well, that's all, you all can go back." Thorax said, and Ocellus and her family leave.
Ocellus walks back with her family and looks around, she notices everything looked the same as before, her vision was still the same, her hearing was still the same, and she was walking fine, she looks and sees the other changelings looking at her with curiosity, she smiles at seeing them, she continues to head back with her family and walked back to where she and her family spend time with one another. Ocellus plays hide and seek with Angiosperm and Gymnosperm and they run around the hive, Ocellus runs and feels like she was running faster than before, and was more determined to find them, she sees Angiosperm and notices something strange, her mouth was watering when she saw him, but she managed to stop herself,
"Found you." Ocellus said, Angiosperm was caught by surprise and he ran away, Ocellus then looked for Gymnosperm, she tries to transform but could not,
"Oh, right, can't change." Ocellus said, and she begins to fly around instead. Ocellus flies around the Changeling Kingdom while looking for Gymnosperm, she sees other changelings in the hive and they all made her mouth water, she wondered why it was happening, but keeps flying while her drool hits the ground, she sees Gymnosperm and lands on the ground, she began acting like a hunter stalking its prey and crept up slowly towards Gymnosperm from behind,
"Found you." Ocellus said, Gymnosperm screamed and jumped up to the ceiling, Ocellus notices what she was doing and soon stopped, Gymnosperm whimpered in fear while she looked over her own left shoulder and saw her older sister,
"It's okay, Gymnosperm, it's me." Ocellus said,
"Don't scare me like that." Gymnosperm replied,
"I'm sorry, but come on, let's head home, it's almost dinner time." Ocellus said, and the two head home shortly after finding Angiosperm again. Ocellus has dinner with her family and ate, but the vegetables she usually eats tasted very unpleasant to her, she wanted to spit it out, she had to down the vegetables with water, which also tasted bad to her,
"You okay, Ocellus?" Pupa asked,
"These vegetables and water suddenly taste terrible to me." Ocellus replied,
"What? The effects are kicking in already?" Metamorphosis asked,
"It appears so." Pupa replied, and they see Ocellus was struggling to swallow the vegetables and water,
"How bad does it taste, Ocellus?" Pupa asked,
"Really bad." Ocellus replied, her family becomes worried while Ocellus struggled to finish dinner, she did after a while and had a terrible aftertaste in her mouth, she felt nauseous from eating the meal and felt like she was going to vomit, which worried her family, but she managed to stop herself,
"I don't feel well, I'm going to bed." Ocellus said, and she did. Ocellus sat on her bed while wearing her pajamas and began writing in the diary,
"The surgery was today and I had changes done to my insides, but I am still the same on the outside, I look the same, I sound the same, I feel the same, and I can see and hear the same as before the surgery, and I still remember everything, but I have noticed two changes today already, one is I hate vegetables and water now, they taste terrible to me, I want to throw up when I eat and it makes me feel sick after swallowing, I have a bad aftertaste in my mouth as I write this, the other change I notice is whenever I see a changeling, my mouth waters, I don't know why, though, but other than that, everything is still the same, and I've been enjoying my spring break."
Ocellus closes the diary and lays in her bed and sleeps, she was still wondering what was causing her mouth water whenever she saw a changeling.
Ocellus wakes up the next morning and felt no different, she goes to have breakfast with her family and they look at her with surprise,
"Ocellus." Pupa said,
"What? What is it?" Ocellus asked,
"Your skin color's different." Gymnosperm replied, Ocellus becomes surprised and looks for a piece of rock to see herself, she looks at her own reflection and gasps,
"My skin's color is different." Ocellus said, she looks and saw her skin was now light gray, which made her a bit uneasy, since her skin color was almost the color of a decomposing corpse, but everything else about her was the same, she went back to her family and ate the vegetables, which tasted even worse, she had to down it with water, which also tasted even worse, Ocellus manages to finish her meal with a struggle,
"I'm still hungry." Ocellus said,
"Really? That's usually enough to keep you full until lunch time." Pupa replied,
"I'm starving, I feel like I haven't eaten in days." Ocellus said, her family becomes worried,
"How do the vegetables and water taste?" Metamorphosis asked,
"Worse than yesterday." Ocellus replied, surprising her family,
"Well, you'll just have to hold off your hunger until lunch time, Ocellus." Pupa said, and she waits for them to finish. Ocellus walks around with Angiosperm and Gymnosperm and she felt very hungry and thirsty, her mouth watered whenever she looked at her two younger siblings, her mouth watered even more when she saw the other changelings, who were looking at her due to her changed skin color, she looks at the paintings on the wall that was used to decorate the kingdom and Ocellus no longer found them beautiful, she thought they were horrendous, and wanted to destroy the paintings.
Ocellus feels the love sharing throughout the kingdom and blushed with embarrassment since she felt very aroused between her hind legs, she became even more aroused whenever she looked at a male changeling, she held her hind legs together tightly since she was getting aroused to the point of discomfort, her two siblings notice her,
"Do you have to use the bathroom, Ocellus?" Gymnosperm asked,
"No, the love in the kingdom is making me very uncomfortable." Ocellus replied, Thorax realized what was going on and ran to them,
"Quick, get her someplace with less love before she loses control of herself." Thorax said, and her siblings along with several adult changelings fly and take her elsewhere. Ocellus was with Pharynx and the doctors,
"You felt uncomfortable by the love we share?" Interphase asked,
"Yes." Ocellus replied,
"So, the love in this kingdom now makes you feel sick?" Metaphase asked,
"No, it feels as if it's too much for my body, and it's overriding my senses." Ocellus replied,
"Can you describe the discomfort?" Prophase asked, Ocellus blushed with embarrassment,
"Um..." Ocellus said,
"It's okay, Ocellus. Where are you feeling the discomfort?" Pharynx asked,
"Um... in my private parts." Ocellus replied,
"Can you describe what it feels like?" Anaphase asked,
"I'm getting this throbbing and tingling feeling down there." Ocellus replied, surprising Pharynx and the doctors,
"What else are you experiencing?" Metaphase asked,
"I find water and vegetables to be disgusting, they taste terrible, they leave a terrible aftertaste, and it makes me feel sick, my mouth waters whenever I look at a changeling, I'm still really hungry after eating the same amount of food that used to make me feel full, and those paintings on the wall I used to find beautiful are now ugly to me." Ocellus replied,
"I see, so, so far, change in skin color, change of appetite, increased appetite, and increased libido." Anaphase said,
"How's your sleep rhythm?" Pharynx asked,
"Still the same." Ocellus replied,
"Okay, tell you what, we'll try to keep you in a part of the kingdom that has less love, since it seems you have become hypersensitive to it, and tell the other changelings to reduce the amount of love we share so you don't lose control." Pharynx said,
"Good idea, I was thinking the same thing." Ocellus replied, and they got ready to take her back to her family, but they saw Ocellus' mouth was watering with drool coming out of her mouth as she looked at the changelings, it made Pharynx and the doctors uncomfortable, they go behind her and her mouth stops watering, they carry her back to her family.
Ocellus was taken back to her family and she sat on her bed while her family surround her,
"You still want lunch?" Pupa asked,
"Sure." Ocellus replied, and she sat with her family and had lunch, she eats her first bite of grass and has trouble swallowing it, so she down it with water. Ocellus was about to eat more but she begins gagging and holding onto her own throat with her own front hoofs,
"Ocellus!" Pupa said as she stood up, Ocellus continues gag and vomits out the grass, she coughs afterwards,
"Quick, give her a drink." Metamorphosis said, and Angiosperm puts Ocellus' rock cup to her mouth and she takes a sip of water, she forces herself to swallow it, she coughs and gags again and vomits out the water, making her family nervous, she continues to cough and soon stops,
"My body's rejecting it, it's almost like I'm allergic to it." Ocellus said, she looks and sees her family looking at her with surprise and shock,
"What?" Ocellus asked,
"You changed color again." Angiosperm replied, Ocellus runs around to look at her own reflection and saw she has, her mane, elytra, and wings have become light gray as well, much to Ocellus' surprise, and also to her surprise, she suddenly felt tired, she goes back to her family,
"I'm going to sleep." Ocellus said, and she went back into her bed and slept. Ocellus wakes up when she heard her family having dinner, she goes to them and they look at her,
"Sleep well?" Metamorphosis asked,
"Actually, yes." Ocellus replied, her family smiled,
"I'm going to go for a walk, see you all later." Ocellus said, and she leaves. Ocellus walks around the hive and saw two toddler changelings sleeping, she walks to them quietly while smiling, but she felt her brain telling her something unpleasant, she realizes that her body was telling her to eat them, and her mouth watered,
"No, I won't do it." Ocellus said as she resisted her brain, it was a lot harder than she thought, but she managed to resist, her brain continues to tell her to eat them, so she runs away and goes to an area with no changeling in her sight. Ocellus looks at a wall so her brain would not tell her to eat any changelings, she also realized why her mouth always watered whenever there was a changeling around, she soon felt tired after resisting her hunger and went back to bed, she writes in her diary,
"The color of my skin, mane, wings, and shell on my back changed today, I can no longer eat and drink my original diet, my body rejects it and I vomit whenever I swallow them, I am resisting my brain since it is telling me to eat the changelings, I am also now hypersensitive to love, I get an uncomfortable tingling feeling in my private parts now, and they're throbbing, and I don't like it, I felt tired this afternoon and slept, but I think that's because I haven't been eating and I'm losing my energy, I'll see how I feel tomorrow and how I change tomorrow."
Ocellus closes the diary and went back into her bed, she had to force herself to fall asleep and was hungry when she slept. Ocellus was sleeping and she begins to sleepwalk, she groans while her body sought out changelings to eat, some of the changelings who were awake saw her and noted Thorax and Pharynx, the two and the doctors restrain her while she tried to bite Telephase, they hold her off until Ocellus stops sleepwalking and fell, they put her back in bed and they all continued to sleep.
Ocellus wakes up the next morning and felt the same, she goes to have breakfast with her family and they look at her with surprise again,
"What is it now?" Ocellus asked,
"Your eyes." Metamorphosis replied, Ocellus goes to look at her own reflection and saw her eyes were now pink, much to her surprise, Ocellus looks at herself and saw other than the color of her body changing, she looked exactly the same, but she was extremely hungry and wanted to eat a changeling, Ocellus continued to resist, and she went back to her family, they look at her and she sat,
"I can still see fine." Ocellus said, much to her parents' reliefs,
"So, have you decided what you want for breakfast?" Pupa asked, Ocellus shook her head, several changelings arrive and they had nuts and berries with them,
"Alright, Ocellus, we gathered some fruits and nuts from outside the hive, let's see if we can find something your body can digest." Thorax said, and Ocellus tried the fruits first, she gagged and spat out some of them, while she did swallow the others, she vomited them out,
"Okay, no fruits or berries, try the nuts." Thorax said, and they gave Ocellus the nuts, she eats them and they left a somewhat bitter taste in her mouth, she swallows them with no problem,
"Hey, I can eat these." Ocellus said,
"Good, her food problems are solved, we don't need another incident like last night." Thorax said,
"Wait, last night?" Ocellus asked,
"You were sleepwalking, and you tried to bite Telephase, almost as if you were going to try to eat him." Pharynx replied, Ocellus becomes horrified at what she heard,
"I would never do something that horrible." Ocellus said,
"Well, you did, and you were asleep, so you probably don't remember." Prophase replied, Ocellus was still horrified at what she tried to do,
"Alright, let's go back out, we now need to solve Ocellus' drinking problem." Thorax said,
"Wait, I still got some leftover punch from last Hearth's Warming." Pupa replied,
"Let's give it a try." Pharynx said, and she gets it, Ocellus takes a sip while Angiosperm and Gymnosperm watch with jealousy that Ocellus got to drink the punch, she spat out and coughed since it tasted really bad to her, she shook her head, one changeling offers her non-sweet tea and she managed to swallow it but vomited it out a few seconds later, another changeling offers her bitter black coffee and she drinks it with no problem,
"I can drink that." Ocellus said, and the changelings try the others, one gives her milk, she swallowed it with no problem,
"Okay, she can drink milk, too." Thorax said, another changeling gives her soda, she drinks and could not swallow it since it tasted so bad to her, she spat it out immediately, they were out of drinks and it was decided to give Ocellus milk and bitter black coffee. A male changeling flies in late and goes to them,
"Wait, I hope I'm not too late." the changeling said, and they all saw he had a block of white cheddar cheese, Ocellus tries it and chews it, it hurt her teeth, but she managed to swallow it with no problem,
"It's alright, a little hard, though." Ocellus said,
"Alright, we found her a diet, nuts and cheese, and give her bitter coffee and milk to drink, just give her any kind of nuts, peanuts, almonds, whatever you can find, we'll also try to find some meat for her, and remember, don't kill the animal, get one that's already dead, let's go." Thorax said, and he and the others fly outside.
Ocellus looks at her family and her mouth still watered, but less than before, she begins to scream and opens her mouth, she covers it with her front hoofs,
"The cheese must've been too strong for her." Metamorphosis said,
"No, I can feel my tongue transforming, it hurts." Ocellus replied with her voice muffled, and she continues to scream in pain, she soon sticks her tongue out and her family watches it transforms, it becomes forked with two tines at the end, it also becomes longer. Ocellus looks at her new tongue with shock before it slid back into her mouth,
"What's happening to me?" Ocellus asked, her family continued to look at her,
"Bleh!" Ocellus said as she held her new tongue out, she realized that she can now taste the odorless chemicals in the air, and they tasted bad,
"What's wrong, big sis?" Angiosperm asked,
"She is now able to taste odorless chemicals in the air, that tongue is used to smell things, snakes and lizards have the same type of tongue." Metamorphosis replied, surprising him and Gymnosperm, Ocellus begins to scream again, this time was louder and more painful,
"Where are you hurt this time?" Pupa asked,
"My teeth!" Ocellus replied, and she screams in agony while on all four of her knees, her white straight teeth begins to mutate slowly and painfully, Ocellus screams and her teeth slowly grew taller and slimmer, all of her teeth changed to razor sharp fangs. The transformation finishes and Ocellus pants since it hurt a lot, she looks at her own reflection and sees her teeth, she looks at it with bafflement. Flying is heard and the changelings come back,
"She's mutated even more, Thorax." Metamorphosis said,
"What's changed?" Thorax asked,
"Her tongue and her teeth." Pupa replied, Ocellus turns around and they see her new mutations,
"Wow, two mutations that quick?" Thorax asked,
"The transformation process must be speeding up." Interphase replied,
"Well, come on, guys, we got some meat, we're going to cook them and see how done she likes the meat." Pharynx said, and they do. Ocellus decided to play with Angiosperm and Gymnosperm while they waited, they were playing hide and seek again, Ocellus was impulsively holding her tongue out and smelling where they went with it, she looks for them and found Angiosperm behind a rock, Ocellus puts the tongue back in her mouth and begins moving to him slowly from behind like a hunter about to attack its prey, Angiosperm hears her coming and saw her jump, he becomes scared and flies away while Ocellus lands on the rock and destroys it,
"What are you doing?" Angiosperm asked, Ocellus comes to her senses, she looks and saw she has broke the rock by jumping into it and realized she was physically stronger than before, she looks at Angiosperm and saw he was scared of her,
"What's wrong, Angiosperm?" Ocellus asked, Angiosperm backed away from her while scared and ran away,
"Angiosperm, wait!" Ocellus said, but he kept running, she decided to go look for Gymnosperm. Ocellus looks for her younger sister and stuck her tongue out again to smell her out, she puts her tongue back in her mouth and runs to where Gymnosperm was, she realizes she was a lot faster than before as well. Gymnosperm was hiding behind a rock and hears running up ahead, she looks and saw Ocellus coming forward, she was panting and huffing, Gymnosperm becomes scared and begins to run while Ocellus chases her, she keeps running and Ocellus snarls when she jumps into the air, she lands on Gymnosperm and she screams, Ocellus bites into her back and she screamed in pain, the other changelings change into various wild animals and pull Ocellus away while the others checked the crying Gymnosperm, she was bleeding and Ocellus had blood in her mouth, Metamorphosis and Pupa heard Gymnosperm and they find her, Angiosperm ran as well, they see her and look at Ocellus,
"What have you become, Ocellus?" Metamorphosis asked,
"I'm sorry, it's almost like something else is controlling me." Ocellus replied,
"That's it, we should change her back now." Thorax said,
"Not yet, not until the mutation's complete." Pharynx replied,
"You saw what she did, Pharynx, at this rate, we'll all be in danger." Thorax said,
"If we change her back now, we will never know how much she will evolve, plus, she's acting this way because she hasn't had any meat to eat, maybe she will stop when we give her some meat to eat." Pharynx replied,
"What do you all say?" Thorax asked, the changelings agreed with Pharynx, Thorax sighed,
"Alright, but if this doesn't stop her from attacking the others, I'm pulling the plug on this experiment." Thorax said, and he goes to the changelings who were cooking, they changed to dragons and breathed fire on the meat,
"How much longer?" Thorax asked,
"This is the last one." a male changeling replied, Ocellus places her tongue out again and sensed the meat, her mouth watered,
"In a minute, Ocellus." Thorax said, and they were done shortly afterwards, they go to Ocellus and she had six pieces of meat to try, she tried the blue rare meat first and gobbled it up on impulse,
"This one's actually delicious." Ocellus said,
"Alright, let's the try the others." Thorax said, and they gave her the rare meat next, she ate it with no problem,
"Good, but not as good as the last one." Ocellus said, they give the medium rare meat next, she ate it after sometime,
"Worse than the last one." Ocellus said, they give her the medium meat next, she swallowed it after a struggle,
"I don't like that one." Ocellus said, she was given the medium well meat next, she swallows it but vomits it out,
"That one tastes bad." Ocellus said, she was given the last meat, it was well done, she chews and spits it out,
"That one's terrible." Ocellus said,
"Alright, extra rare meat, it is." Thorax said, even though he and the other changelings were sick to their stomachs at the thought of eating meat, they all decide to let Ocellus roam around to see how she acts. Ocellus walks around the hive and no longer felt her mouth water since she had meat, the thought she had to eat meat made her want to puke, it was very sickening to her, she walks around fine and sensed the love the changelings share was reduced since she did not feel any throbbing or tingling between her hind legs. Ocellus continues to walk around and soon felt pain in all four of her hoofs, she screams in pain as she mutated, the other changelings come and they gasp when they see Ocellus mutate, she grows five yellow claws out of the front of each hoof, she looks at them with shock, she saw each claw was long and razor sharp,
"M... My hoofs." Ocellus said, she looks at them for sometime and tries to stand, she stood up with no problem and saw she could walk just fine, it relieved her, but made the changelings nervous,
"Well, it's almost dinner time, Ocellus, we should head back." Pupa said, and they do. Ocellus has dinner with her family, she was eating peanuts and almonds and drinking bitter black coffee, it was alright, but her family noticed her licking her own teeth with her tongue, which made them uncomfortable,
"Ocellus?" Pupa asked, she looks at her,
"Why are you licking your teeth like that?" Pupa asked,
"I don't know, but whatever's on my teeth tastes so good." Ocellus replied, it made her family very uneasy because they can clearly see she was licking blood, Gymnosperm was especially uncomfortable because it was her blood,
"That reminds me, how's Gymnosperm's back?" Ocellus asked, Gymnosperm became uncomfortable,
"We had her checked when you were eating, she's lucky, no diseases or illnesses from the bite on her back." Metamorphosis replied,
"Good, I was worried about her for a minute." Ocellus said,
"I think it would be best if you go to bed early tonight, Ocellus." Pupa said,
"Yeah, I am pretty tired after today." Ocellus replied, and she finished her dinner and went to bed shortly afterwards. Ocellus put her pajamas on and began writing in her diary,
"My eyes changed color today, and my transformation is speeding up, I had three transformations today, first, my tongue changed to a forked tongue like the one snakes have, second, my teeth changed to fangs, and third, I grew five claws on the front of all four of my hooves, I'm also noticing my own behavior changing, I'm now using my tongue to smell instead of my snout, and I attacked my own younger sister out of desperation to have meat, it's almost like there's another voice in my head that's telling me what to do, and I'm fighting to resist it, I fear sooner or later, I will lose complete control of myself and this other voice in me will take over my body."
Ocellus closes the diary and went to sleep in her bed, she was scared with how she will be when she wakes up.
Ocellus wakes up the next morning and takes her pajamas off, her pants did not feel like they fit, she looks for a smooth rock to see her own reflection, she looks and to her surprise, she has grown a tail right above her flank, it was a regular tail and was hairless, she heads out and goes to see her family.
Ocellus has breakfast with her family, they were giving her nuts and milk again, she lets out an angry grunt and hits her meal off of the table to her right, her family looks at her and realized her voice has changed, they also see her tail, she stands up and looks at them,
"I'm tired of having nuts for meals." Ocellus said, her family becomes horrified when they hear Ocellus' voice, it was masculine, raspy, and ghastly,
"What? Don't give me that look, give me something to eat." Ocellus said,
"You've got nuts to eat right there." Metamorphosis replied,
"I don't want nuts, I crave meat." Ocellus said, her family becomes nervous,
"Is that nervousness I smell? I'm not surprised, you changelings were always a bunch of obedient cowards anyway." Ocellus said, her family becomes shocked,
"Ocellus." Pupa said with disbelief,
"What? You know I'm right, now give me some meat, better yet, give me those two right there." Ocellus said with a menacing smile on her face as she looked at Angiosperm and Gymnosperm, the two become scared and hide behind Metamorphosis and Pupa, she jumps and lands behind the four, she snickers as she looks at her two younger siblings, the two become scared and Metamorphosis and Pupa put them behind themselves as they turned around to face Ocellus,
"Now, Ocellus, don't scare your younger siblings like that." Metamorphosis said,
"Siblings? They're my siblings? They should be food instead." Ocellus replied, and the two run away while screaming, Ocellus runs after them but Metamorphosis and Pupa hold her back,
"That's enough, Ocellus!" Pupa said, Ocellus pushes them to the sides and Pupa exclaims as she fell, Ocellus runs after Angiosperm and Gymnosperm. Ocellus runs after Angiosperm and Gymnosperm, they scream and yell for help, the other changelings block Ocellus' path while Thorax and Pharynx stand in front of her, which made Ocellus stop,
"Out of my way, Thorax, I need to feed." Ocellus said, the changelings were baffled by her new voice,
"Give her the very rare meat." Pharynx said,
"No, I don't want rare meat, I want it raw." Ocellus said, surprising the changelings, Telephase hands her a piece of raw meat, she slaps it away with the back of her front left hoof,
"No, I want the animal I eat to be whole and alive." Ocellus said,
"What? But why?" Thorax asked,
"So when I bite into it, it will feel the pain, I wanna hear it scream." Ocellus replied, the changelings become horrified,
"Would some coffee make you feel better?" Pharynx asked,
"I don't want to drink coffee, I want to drink blood." Ocellus replied, shocking the changelings,
"What's gotten into you, Ocellus?" Prophase asked,
"Into me? I am merely evolving to perfection." Ocellus replied, the changelings become scared of her and back away slowly,
"You all backing away from me? I shouldn't be surprised, you are a weak, sniveling brat, Thorax." Ocellus said,
"Hey!" Thorax replied, offended by what she said,
"He has made you all weak ever since Chrysalis was overthrown, only Pharynx was able to defend himself, you should join me instead." Ocellus said,
"No way." Pharynx replied,
"Look, Ocellus, I know changing and adapting is hard, but we still love you as you are and..." Thorax said,
"Love? This place doesn't have enough love, I need it more." Ocellus replied,
"But, Ocellus, you're hypersensitive to us sharing love, and even if we reduced it, you should still be able to feel love in your heart." Thorax said,
"I don't want to feel love in my heart, I want to feel it in my loins." Ocellus replied, some of the changelings gasp,
"Ocellus!" a female changeling said with shock,
"Oh, and one more thing, that love I feel has to be given to me by the male changelings." Ocellus said with a menacing smile on her face, some of the changelings gasp,
"No way, Ocellus, we are not doing that." Thorax said, Ocellus growls and she lunges forward while snarling. Ocellus tries to latch onto Thorax with her claws but he changes to a rock to prevent her claws from cutting into him, the changelings all change to various dangerous creatures from around the world to restrain Ocellus, but she snarls and growls as she swings her front legs around and throws the changelings around the kingdom, they exclaim as they get thrown into the air, she grabs one male changeling behind her by wrapping her tail around his neck and throws him over herself, she opens her mouth and has the acid in her stomach come up her throat and she shoots it out of her mouth at high speeds, she hits another male changeling in his face with the acid and he turns around screams in pain as the acid melts his face. Pharynx and several other changelings try to restrain her with rope, but Ocellus pulls her legs towards herself and breaks them, so the changelings use chains, she broke those as well, so they use wire cables next, they manage to restrain her enough and tie more ropes and chains around her just to be safe,
"Alright, knock her out." Pharynx said, and Telephase hits her on the left side of her neck and knocks her out, she was carried away while the others watch with fear. Ocellus was locked in her room and had ropes, chains, and cables around herself, she was still unconscious, her family, Thorax, and Pharynx were looking at her,
"How much longer until the mutation's complete?" Thorax asked,
"I don't know, but it is speeding up, see, look." Pharynx replied, and they see Ocellus' body changing, her mane, wings, elytra, and horn were now gone, Pupa cried while Metamorphosis hugged her,
"What has happened to our daughter?" Pupa asked,
"I don't know, but I know, deep down in there somewhere, she's still there." Metamorphosis replied, they look at her and see Ocellus was still unconscious,
"I'll leave some raw meat and cups of blood in here for her, hopefully, she won't try to break out and attack us when she's full." Pharynx said,
"I told you this experiment was a bad idea." Thorax replied,
"Yeah, I see that now, but as soon as she finishes changing, we change her back immediately." Pharynx said, he was looking down as well,
"What's wrong, Pharynx?" Gymnosperm asked,
"It's my fault this whole mess happened, I'll take any responsibility for what happens to the hive." Pharynx replied,
"So, what will happen to Ocellus?" Angiosperm asked,
"We don't know, and her mutations are unpredictable, all we can do now is wait." Pharynx replied,
"Off to bed, you two, it's already late." Metamorphosis said, and they leave while blocking the entrance to Ocellus' room with a boulder. Ocellus wakes up after a few hours and saw she was restrained, she snickers,
"Tie me up if you want to, you can't hold me forever." Ocellus said loudly while smiling,
"I know you two are awake, Angiosperm and Gymnosperm, your big sister's coming for you two." Ocellus said, Angiosperm and Gymnosperm try to sleep while covering their ears',
"I know you hear me too, Thorax, you won't be able to contain me forever, once when my evolution is complete, I will be free, and I will have all of the meat and blood I want." Ocellus said, Thorax did hear her and was uncomfortable, her voice alone was enough to give him nightmares. Ocellus wakes up and saw while she was all tied up, the ropes, chains, and cables were long enough for her to move around in her room, she moves around and saw raw meat and cups of blood on the floor, she eats and drinks them loudly, she was stuffing the meat in her mouth and chewing fast, she finishes her meal and saved the rest of later, she went to go write in her diary,
"I am continuing to evolve into perfection, now that my former inferior mindset is gone, I will admit that I am losing the ability to write and speak, but they are sacrifices that are necessary for me to grow. Thorax is a weak leader, and an inferior being, but his love can help me produce an offspring, a superior changeling, with my form and the ability to change. Those changelings who cannot change are inferior, and should given to me as food, not kept alive so they can find a way to help them overcome their defect, they are weak, and should be eaten, I will have to wait for at least three more days before my transformation is complete."
Ocellus closes the diary and snickers while she lays down in her bed, she looks at her pajamas and decided not to wear it.
The next day comes and it was the last day of spring break, the changelings were worried since they could not send Ocellus back to school the way she was, her family has breakfast and they were sad with what Ocellus has become,
"I'll go check on her." Pupa said,
"No, Pupa, it's too dangerous." Metamorphosis replied,
"I'm just going to take a quick peek." Pupa said, and she goes to Ocellus' room, she moves the boulder out of the way to look, she looks and her eyes widen, Ocellus' front hoofs have changed to hands, and her hind hoofs have changed to feet, her eyes have changed to compound eyes, her skin has become covered with light gray snake-like scales, and her snout was gone,
"Hi, Pupa." Ocellus said in a taunting tone with a smile on her face, Pupa quickly puts the boulder over the entrance and she sits on the floor and cries with her front hoofs on her face while Ocellus laughs. Pupa informs the doctors about Ocellus later in the afternoon and they go to Ocellus' room and move the boulder, their eyes' widen when they see Ocellus has transformed even more, she has grown taller and more muscular, she was now as big as a manticore, and as muscular as a bodybuilder,
"How do you like me now?" Ocellus asked, they become scared and quickly block the entrance,
"This isn't good, school starts again tomorrow." Thorax said,
"I knew the experiment wouldn't be done by then, you guys keep an eye on her, I'll handle the ponies." Pharynx replied,
"How much longer until the experiment's done?" Metamorphosis asked,
"I don't know, but hopefully, soon." Interphase replied,
"Come on, let's just go." Pharynx said, and they leave while Ocellus remained in the room all tied up. Ocellus ate raw meat and drank blood, and she was tired, so she assumed it was dark, she listens and hears snoring, she realizes that her hearing has enhanced, she gets the diary and holds the pencil in her right hand and writes,
"Eyes changed, sight better, can see thousands of images. Hearing better. Body bigger. Body stronger. Body more muscular. Skin changed to scales, can slither around like snake. Hooves changed to hands and feet, can use claws now. Two more days before transformation complete."
Ocellus breathes louder than usual and looks at the pajamas, she thought the pink color was hideous, so she picks it up and rips them apart and went to sleep.
The next day comes and school was starting again, Ocellus was heard huffing and puffing,
"Tomorrow... evolution... complete." Ocellus said, it made her family uneasy, they heard loud noises in her room and the boulder being moved, they saw Ocellus run out and were shocked to see her front legs have shifted places, they were now at the sides of her shoulders and was now bipedal, even though she ran on all fours, they run to inform the others while Ocellus went elsewhere,
"Ocellus broke out!" Metamorphosis said, the changelings all gather together and look for her. The changelings fly around and look for her, they hear loud breathing and scraping on the walls, they go to where they hear it, and to their horror, Ocellus was painting over their decorations, the paint they put on the walls was painted over with her own blood, which was now red, Ocellus slashes herself with her claws and paints her blood on the walls, she looks back and sees them,
"Paintings... now... beautiful." Ocellus said,
"Come on, restrain her." Telephase said, and they do while Ocellus did not fight back, they tie her up with ropes, chains, and cables again and take her back to her room. Knocking is heard at the entrance and it caught everychangeling's attention,
"Um, excuse me." a female voice said, they realized it was Fluttershy, Thorax and Pharynx go to the entrance and remove the boulder, they see her,
"Hello, um, school starts again today, and Ocellus hasn't showed up, so um, Twilight sent me to remind her." Fluttershy said,
"Oh... um... you see..." Thorax said,
"Ocellus caught an illness during the spring break, and is very sick right now, she can't get out of bed, she'll have to remain home until she gets better." Pharynx said,
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, um... can I visit her?" Fluttershy asked,
"Sorry, but we can't allow that, the illness Ocellus has is very contagious, we blocked every entrance to our kingdom to prevent the illness from getting out." Pharynx replied,
"Oh, okay, I'll let Twilight know that Ocellus might not make it in a few days." Fluttershy said,
"Thank you, we'll let you know when she gets better." Pharynx replied,
"Okay, tell her I said I hope she gets well soon." Fluttershy said, and she flew away while Pharynx blocked the entrance,
"Do you have any idea what you've done, Pharynx? The ponies will be furious if they find out you lied to them." Thorax said,
"I know, but it's for the best, and I'm ready to face the consequences if they do find out." Pharynx replied, Thorax was a little speechless,
"Come on, let's go get some more food for Ocellus." Pharynx said,
"No way, I am not giving her a live animal for her to eat." Thorax replied,
"I didn't say a live animal, just food, let's get her a dead one." Pharynx said,
"But still, she might reject it." Thorax replied,
"Then she will have no choice but to starve." Pharynx said,
"You saw what happens when that happens, that's also a bad idea." Thorax replied,
"Well, let's try it." Pharynx said, and the two leave and go out to look for dead animals to feed to Ocellus. Metamorphosis, Pupa, Angiosperm, and Gymnosperm have lunch while sad,
"You two are horrible parents, Metamorphosis and Pupa, it's not nice to lock up your child in their own room." Ocellus said, Pupa was nearly on the verge of tears while Metamorphosis ignored it,
"Admit it, you only locked me up in here because you're jealous of my evolution and superior skills, and the fact that I was chosen to evolve to perfection and you weren't." Ocellus said, Pupa was trying to keep herself from crying,
"Ignore it, Pupa, it's just trying to get under your skin." Metamorphosis said,
"But that thing took over our daughter." Pupa replied,
"I want Ocellus back." Angiosperm said,
"Me too." Gymnosperm said,
"I do as well, where is my oldest daughter?" Pupa asked,
"She's there, she's just not herself." Metamorphosis replied,
"No, that thing is not our daughter." Pupa said, they hear snarling in Ocellus' room,
"Yes, I'm evolving more." Ocellus said, and Pupa cried again while they heard Ocellus transform, Metamorphosis finishes his lunch while Angiosperm and Gymnosperm did not eat. Thorax and Pharynx arrive back at the kingdom with dead animals and go to Ocellus' room, they move the boulder and saw Ocellus' front legs have changed to arms, they throw the dead animals in and Ocellus eats like a pig while making loud snarling noises, Thorax was uneasy while Pharynx was stoic, he puts the boulder back to block the only entrance and exit.
Knocking was heard at the entrance and Pharynx removed it, he saw Sandbar, Gallus, Smolder, Yona, and Silverstream,
"Um, hi, we were told Ocellus is sick, so we come to wish her to get well soon." Sandbar said,
"I'm sorry, but Ocellus' illness is contagious, we can't let you near her." Pharynx replied,
"What? Oh, come on, it'll only be for a short second." Gallus said,
"The illness is very contagious, a brief second is enough to make you sick." Pharynx replied,
"Yona wanna see Ocellus!" Yona said,
"Can we see her? Pretty please?" Silverstream asked,
"Sorry, but no." Pharynx replied,
"Is she awake?" Smolder asked,
"No, she's asleep right now." Pharynx replied,
"Well, we did bring gifts and treats for her, can we at least give them to her?" Sandbar asked,
"I'll have the doctors give them, since it's too dangerous to go near her right now, I'll let you five know when she's better and can be visited." Pharynx replied, Ocellus' friends become sad and walk away with their heads down,
"Sorry." Pharynx said as Ocellus' friends walked away, they leave and Pharynx blocks the entrance again. Night time comes and the changelings had dinner, Ocellus was silent again, she felt tired and looked at herself,
"One more transformation, and I will be complete." Ocellus said, she walks on her legs and writes in her diary,
"Grew arms today, can walk on two legs now. Ugly paintings now covered with blood, paintings now beautiful. Transformation will complete tomorrow morning. Changelings lock me here because they are jealous of my superior skills, once when I am complete, I will break out and kill all of the female changelings so I can be the only mate for the males, but first, go out and look for food."
Ocellus closes the diary and her former self was still fighting to regain control of her body, there was still a very small part of her inside that was writing the diary, but her new mind wrote down the words, Ocellus lays on the floor and sleeps.
The next day comes and Ocellus was quiet, while her family was worried, they hear her transforming,
"Yes, last transformation, I am comple... *snarl*" Ocellus said, scaring her family, the other changelings gather around and were ready to get Ocellus out, but they hear the ropes, chains, and cables breaking, punches were heard and put dents in the boulder, scaring the changelings, one last punch is done and the boulder explodes into pieces. The changelings look and see a black silhouette of the transformed Ocellus, they hear her growling and breathing hard as well, which scared the children in the hive, she walks forward and the changelings look at her with wide eyes' and open mouths, Ocellus was now bipedal with two arms and two legs, her skin was light gray and covered in snake-like scales, she had five yellow claws on each hand and foot, acting as fingers, thumbs, and toes, a long tail coming out of her lower back, her body was very muscular and she was as tall as a manticore reeled up on its hind legs, she had no mane, wings, or elytra on her body, her head was completely round, her snout was gone, so was her mouth, she had one nostril hole and her pink forked tongue came out of it, her ears were smaller and could not be seen, every single ommatidia that made up her pink compound eyes split in half horizontally and changed to mouths, they were all filled with thirty two long, razor sharp, pointed fangs, and she had a vertical split in the center of her abdomen, three pink tentacles came out of it, and each tentacle had a white eyeball on the end of it that she used to see, each eyeball had big black pupils on them and no irises.
Some of the changelings back away in fear while the adult changelings put their children behind them, Ocellus runs to the exit while snarling,
"Restrain her! It's time to undo the experiment." Pharynx said as he and the other changelings to try to restrain her, but Ocellus begins slashing them with her claws and kills some of them, the changelings change to various wild animals to try to tame her, but Ocellus opens up the mouths that made up her eyes and shoots acid out of each one, several changelings were shot in their faces and they melted, she also used her tail to strangle several changelings behind her, she sees a female toddler changeling while scared, Ocellus shoots her forked tongue out and it wraps around the changeling toddler, she screams as Ocellus pulls her forward, she puts her near her mouths and each mouth eats her alive piece by piece while she screamed in agony. Thorax changes to a bugbear and wrestles with Ocellus to let the changeling child go, he manages to make her lose her grip and the changeling child falls, but she bled out and died, Pharynx changed to a giant snake and wrapped around Ocellus' neck to choke her into unconsciousness, she falls unconscious after a while and the changelings change back,
"Alright, let's undo the mutation." Pharynx said, and they carry Ocellus back to where she first received the surgery.
Ocellus was laying down on a bed and the doctors get ready to perform surgery,
"Alright, everything's ready." Telephase said, and Anaphase walks forward and was about to anesthetize Ocellus, but she suddenly sits up and slashes Anaphase's throat with the claws of her right hand, Anaphase screams while her blood flew everywhere and she falls on the ground dead. Ocellus growls and snarls as she jumps out of bed and throws rocks and boulders at the doctors, they run and try to restrain her and she shoots acid out of her mouths and into Telephase's face, he screams as he fell over and covered his own face with his front hoofs. The changelings run and change into various creatures to restrain Ocellus, but she slashes them with her claws, bites them with her teeth, strangles them with her tail, and shoots acid out of her mouths at them, several changelings died in the process. Ocellus feels hungry and saw a male toddler changeling sitting on the ground with his front legs over his own head, Ocellus throws the changelings to the sides while snarling and she runs to him while growling and snarling, he looks back and saw Ocellus running to him, which made him frozen with fear, Pharynx tackles her from her right blind spot while he was in the form of a bugbear, Ocellus slashes him with her claws a few times but Pharynx stood his ground and stung her a few times in an attempt to make her stop. Ocellus hears her own stomach growl and was starving, she decided that the changelings will not be enough food for her, so she runs on all fours and sees a boulder, she lunges forward and breaks through it, Ocellus arrives outside and runs away, the changelings fly out and see her jumping from tree to tree, they saw her heading north and look,
"She's heading to Yakyakistan!" a female changeling said,
"Come on, we have to stop her." Thorax replied, and they go after her.
The animals in the forest were having a peaceful day and were feeding, a deer was walking by and a tongue wraps around it, the deer lets out several whines before it is pulled away and Ocellus eats it with her many mouths, she left the skeleton on the ground and saw with her three eyes and sensed the place with her tongue, the animals see the tentacles with Ocellus' eyes and her tongue, the animals look and see Ocellus emerge from behind the grass and standing up tall. The animals become scared and begin running and flying away, the birds let out warning cries to the animals in the forest to inform them. Ocellus lies on the ground and begins slithering on the ground like a snake, she sees a nearby coyote and wraps her tongue around it, it lets out cries of help before Ocellus eats it alive and leaves its skeleton on the ground. Ocellus stands up and begins walking slowly to see any animals, she looks around and saw the animals were running away, she lets out an angry snarl and begins running after them, the animals let out warning cries to inform the other animals in the forest, they hear Ocellus panting and see her running after them, the animals become scared and run away. Ocellus jumps from tree to tree and ate whatever unlucky bugs she caught, she also ate whatever unlucky animals that were too slow to run away from her, she tried to eat the smallest and youngest animals, she keeps chasing them until a bugbear tackles her from her right blind spot and fights her, a manticore flies to her from behind and the two restrain her, a chimera and a giant snake also came over to help, Ocellus did not know nor care they were actually changelings, she saw them as food and fought back, the four attempt to restrain her and Ocellus jumped in the air and carried the four with her, they land elsewhere in the forest and Ocellus tried to get the four creatures off of herself.
The School of Friendship was open and everycreature was outside and seeing their friends and talking about their spring break, they were all enjoying themselves until they hear running to the east, they look and see many animals running and flying north while scared, the animals also let out warning cries to let the other animals know,
"That's weird, having the animals come all the way out here." Rainbow Dash said,
"No, something's wrong." Twilight Sparkle replied, and they all watch the animals going north, Fluttershy flew to them,
"Excuse me." Fluttershy said, a raccoon stops and looks at her,
"What's wrong?" Fluttershy asked, the raccoon does several squeaking noises, Fluttershy becomes scared and flies back,
"He said there's some big, scary monster hunting them and eating them." Fluttershy said, scaring the others, they watch and see the animals running away, they soon hear Ocellus snarling loudly, scaring the people at the school and the animals, they run and fly faster, they soon see Ocellus in the air with the bugbear, the manticore, the chimera, and the giant snake on her in an attempt to restrain her, they land to the animals' rights. Everybody watches and they see the bugbear, manticore, chimera, and giant snake thrown around, the animals begin running west and Ocellus shoots acid out of her mouths to melt the legs on some of the animals, they fall and wince in pain,
"Quick, y'all, get indoors." Applejack said, but they all watch and soon see Ocellus in full view, scaring the students. Ocellus goes after the slow and injured animals while Fluttershy got them to safety and her five friends hold her off, and they were having some trouble, Ocellus sees a slow squirrel running to Fluttershy, Ocellus slashes it with her left hand and scratches the right side of the squirrel's face, slashing its eye in the process, the squirrel squeaks in pain and falls, Fluttershy was shocked for a moment and quickly flew over to the squirrel and carried it away. Applejack tries to tie Ocellus down with her lasso but she pulled her arms and legs around and broke the ropes easily, Rarity and Twilight Sparkle try restraining Ocellus with telekinesis, Rainbow Dash was trying to pull her back, and Pinkie Pie was just bouncing around, Ocellus ignored them and tried to go after the animals that were running away, she runs to the animals again and Twilight Sparkle puts a shield up to block her while Rainbow Dash flew to Fluttershy to help her get the animals to safety. Ocellus growls and snarls as she sees the animals leaving, she sees the closest animal, it was a beaver, she shoots her tongue out and grabs the beaver, the beaver squeals as it struggles to break free, Ocellus begins to pull it forward in hopes of eating it alive so it will feel the pain, Applejack throws a lasso around the beaver and begins pulling, her five friends gather behind her and help her pull, they grunt as they wrestle to free the beaver, Ocellus shoots acid out of her mouths and Pinkie Pie screams as the acids hit the ground and melt it while the other five mares exclaimed. Twilight Sparkle and Rarity try to get the beaver back with telekinesis, they were still struggling, they struggle until the bugbear comes back and tackles Ocellus from her right blind spot again, she snarled as she was tackled away and dropped the beaver, the manticore, chimera, and giant snake come back as well.
The six mares and students watch as the bugbear and Ocellus wrestle with one another, the chimera soon jumps onto Ocellus' back while the tiger's head roared and bit her, Ocellus snarled loudly as the chimera bit her and dug its claws into her back, the manticore flies down and slashes the back of Ocellus' head, and the giant snake wraps around her legs, Ocellus grabs the chimera and pulls it off and throws it over her right shoulder, she slashes the giant snake and it hisses in pain, its body opens and Ocellus frees her own legs, the manticore flies behind her and tries to restrain her while the bugbear held her arms off, the bugbear soon punches Ocellus into the air with its upper right fist and begins flying and tackling Ocellus, the bugbear keeps attacking until it did an uppercut with its upper left fist and then flew up and put its feet on its abdomen, the bugbear lands on the ground and smashes Ocellus' body onto it, leaving a crater.
The bugbear flies forward and pants while it changes to Pharynx, the manticore changes to Thorax, and the chimera and giant snake change to female changelings, surprising everybody present, they pant and look at Ocellus, she begins to revert back as well. Sandbar, Gallus, Smolder, Yona, and Silverstream become shocked and go to Ocellus while Silverstream gasped,
"Ocellus!" Silverstream said, the others look and saw Ocellus has mostly changed back, but her skin, mane, wings, and elytra were still light gray, her eyes were pink, she still had five yellow claws on each hoof, her teeth were still fangs, her tongue was still forked, and she still had the tail,
"Alright, let's take her back." Pharynx said,
"Wait, what happened to her?" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"We'll explain later, we got things to do first." Pharynx replied, and they carry her away and they fly back to the changeling kingdom.
Ocellus undergoes surgery and the doctors work to change her back to normal, they finish and saw Ocellus looked normal again. Pharynx went to go see Twilight Sparkle in her office, Spike was there as well,
"It is as I said earlier, Ocellus contacted a rare illness during the spring break, and it changed her appearance and behavior, we were working to cure it." Pharynx said,
"Why didn't you all contact us?" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"The illness was very contagious, and being in the same room as Ocellus made the others sick, we didn't want to spread it." Pharynx replied,
"Where did she contact it?" Spike asked,
"Around the hive while she was outside." Pharynx replied,
"When did she contact it?" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"Shortly before she entered the hive after coming home." Pharynx replied, Twilight Sparkle and Spike felt bad since it sounded like Ocellus was sick for the entire spring break,
"Well, I'm sorry to hear Ocellus got sick, I'll let her stay home today, tell her I send my regards." Twilight Sparkle said,
"Okay, I will, I'll be leaving now." Pharynx replied, and he went back home.
Hours pass and Ocellus woke up, she groaned while her vision was blurry again, the changelings near her realize her voice was normal, they began to hear her cry softly,
"What have I done?" Ocellus asked, and she began to cry more, her family ran to her,
"Ocellus!" Pupa said with worry, Ocellus hears her and realize her voice was distant again, she sees her along with Metamorphosis, Angiosperm, and Gymnosperm,
"Mom? Dad? Angiosperm? Gymnosperm?" Ocellus asked, they nod,
"How do you feel?" Metamorphosis asked, Ocellus began to cry a bit,
"Terrible." Ocellus replied, Pupa and Metamorphosis hug one another,
"Our daughter is back." Pupa said, Metamorphosis smiles and they look at her,
"Do you recognize us, Ocellus?" Angiosperm asked,
"Yes, little brother and little sister." Ocellus replied, the two smile that she remembered them, Ocellus sniveled a bit,
"Angiosperm, Gymnosperm, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to attack you two, I was well aware of what I was doing, but I couldn't control myself." Ocellus said,
"It's okay, Ocellus, it's not your fault." Gymnosperm replied,
"Not my fault? Yes, it is, I told them to make me that way." Ocellus said, she became sad as she remembered, almost tearing up again,
"How's your vision and hearing, Ocellus?" Prophase asked,
"Still blurry and having trouble hearing." Ocellus replied, her vision was getting better, it fixes after several minutes,
"Okay, I can see fine now." Ocellus said,
"How about your hearing?" Thorax asked,
"I can hear fine now, too." Ocellus replied,
"Okay, good, we'll do the funeral after Pharynx comes back." Thorax said, Ocellus becomes sad again,
"Excuse me, Thorax." Metaphase said,
"Yes." Thorax said,
"Telephase has succumbed to his wounds." Metaphase replied, Ocellus almost cried when she heard them,
"Okay, we'll bury him as well." Thorax said, and they all continue watching Ocellus,
"I'm back." Pharynx said from afar,
"Okay, let's do the funeral." Thorax said, and they do. The funeral begins and there were pictures of the changelings that Ocellus killed, Anaphase and Telephase were among the pictures, along with a few pictures of children, Thorax gave an eulogy while Ocellus looked away and cried loudly while Pupa hugged her, Ocellus was crying tears of shame and regret over what she has done, Pharynx also looked down with shame and regret, feeling he was responsible for their deaths. The funeral ends after a while and Ocellus was still sad, she goes back to her room and looks on with horror, she saw the brains, hearts, intestines, livers, and blood of the dead animals that she ate on the walls of her room as decoration, Ocellus nearly vomited since it made her sick to her stomach, she puts all of the dead animals out of her room while almost crying, she looks at her pajamas and runs to them, she holds up her destroyed nightwear,
"My pajamas." Ocellus said, she began to cry,
"These were my favorite clothes." Ocellus said as she cried, Metamorphosis heard her and walked inside,
"I'm sorry, Ocellus, but you're just going to have to buy another pair." Metamorphosis said,
"No! These are one of a kind, there is no second pair." Ocellus replied as she cried,
"What's so unique about it?" Metamorphosis asked,
"The silk it's made from, it's made from a rare animal in Equestria, and this was the only pair ever made." Ocellus replied, she continued to cry, Metamorphosis felt bad for his daughter, but only hugged her in an attempt to comfort her, she hugged him back and continued to cry,
"Do you want to stay home tomorrow?" Metamorphosis asked,
"No, I'll go to school." Ocellus replied,
"That reminds me, your friends from school brought treats over, so maybe you can eat those." Metamorphosis said,
"Where are they?" Ocellus asked,
"I put them where your mother keeps the vegetables." Metamorphosis replied, and Ocellus went to it, she saw get well soon cards and cookies, she eats them and they were sweet, she was still sad, but felt better, she finishes them after a while and laid down in bed and slept for the rest of the day.
Ocellus leaves the next morning and she went to the school, she saw Pinkie Pie's class was first, she came in late and walked in slowly, everybody looked at her with worry since they can see she was sad, she sat at an empty desk and the others look at her with worry,
"Ocellus?" Sandbar asked, she did not respond, Pinkie Pie puts a sheet of paper on her desk,
"This is the work you missed yesterday, Ocellus." Pinkie Pie said, and Ocellus saw the assignment was to write down what she did during the break, Ocellus just scribbled lines with her quill. Pinkie Pie continues teaching until she saw Ocellus writing on the desk, she becomes worried and trots to her, she saw Ocellus had a sad frown on her face,
"Ocellus." Pinkie Pie said, she stops writing and looks at her,
"Are you done?" Pinkie Pie asked, Ocellus nods slowly, Pinkie Pie becomes very worried and takes the paper, she knew something was very wrong, she puts the paper on her desk and she continues teaching while Ocellus zoned out every word she said with thoughts of what she did while she was mutated, the bell rings and class ends, Ocellus just leaves and walks slowly to class, Rarity's class was next,
"Alright, class, let's finish up your outfits from yesterday." Rarity said, Ocellus did not work since the sewing reminded her of her destroyed pajamas, she nearly cried by just remembering her favorite clothes being destroyed. Rarity noticed Ocellus was nearly tearing up and trotted to her,
"Ocellus, darling, what's the matter?" Rarity asked, Ocellus did not respond and was still sad, she walks to her desk and gets her saddlebag out, she opens it and takes out her destroyed pajamas, Rarity let out a scream and ran to it,
"What happened?!" Rarity asked, Ocellus nearly cried,
"Did somebody destroy it?" Rarity asked, Ocellus nods,
"My, who would do such a thing?" Rarity asked,
"Um, it's just a pair of pajamas." Smolder said,
"Just a pair?! This is made from a silk of an animal only in Equestria, that animal itself is very rare to find, finding outfits like this one is a once in a lifetime chance." Rarity replied, Ocellus was still distraught while Rarity examined the pajamas,
"I'm sorry, Ocellus, dear, but I can't sew this back together, you'll have to wait until I go out and find the silk produced by the animal that makes it before I can make you a new one." Rarity said, Ocellus teared up a bit,
"Go on and rest for today, darling." Rarity said, and Ocellus sat at her desk. Ocellus just sat at her desk and her mind was flooded with the noises of the changelings screaming and the animals wincing and whimpering in pain from the injuries she inflicted on them,
"Ocellus." Sandbar said, he, Gallus, Smolder, Yona, and Silverstream surround her desk,
"What's wrong, Ocellus?" Sandbar asked, Ocellus turned away to her right,
"What are you doing?" Gallus asked,
"What? Come on, Ocellus, answer us, please." Sandbar said, Ocellus did not since she was too upset to answer, the bell rung and they went to their next class. Fluttershy's class was next and they sat, Fluttershy begins to talk about raccoons and the students enjoy her class, Ocellus looks around and saw animals everywhere, she begins to remember all of the dead animals she ate, the animals she attacked, and the animals she killed, they were almost all baby animals, her mind is flooded with visions of her attacking them and the noises they made when they were in pain, Ocellus screamed while she clutched her head and then ran out of the classroom crying,
"Ocellus!" Sandbar called out with worry, Gallus, Smolder, Yona, and Silverstream become worried as well.
Ocellus was sent to Starlight Glimmer by Twilight Sparkle after Fluttershy informed her what has happened and they sat across from one another,
"Okay, Ocellus, what's wrong?" Starlight Glimmer asked, Ocellus did not respond,
"Ocellus, if you don't talk, I can't help you, and you won't be leaving here." Starlight Glimmer said, Ocellus sighs and sat up,
"There was a funeral yesterday for the changelings that died in the hive during the spring break, and I saw a lot of dead animals during the break as well." Ocellus replied,
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that, but that is just a part of life, things die all the time." Starlight Glimmer said,
"No, I caused it." Ocellus replied,
"Oh, well, you shouldn't blame yourself, sometimes, you don't know what consequences your actions can have." Starlight Glimmer said,
"No! I did it, they're dead because of me." Ocellus said,
"Well, as I just said, they were unforeseen consequences, whatever killed them was not your fault." Starlight Glimmer replied,
"You're not listening to me, they died because of me." Ocellus said,
"Yes, we just covered that, and whoever killed them is unrelated to what you did." Starlight Glimmer replied,
"No! I did it! I killed them!" Ocellus said, Starlight Glimmer becomes surprised,
"Why?" Starlight Glimmer asked,
"When I changed, I lost control of myself, I wanted to eat changelings, and I wanted to eat meat and drink blood, I wanted to eat the youngest animals, I wanted to them alive and raw so they can feel the pain." Ocellus replied, Starlight Glimmer gasps with horror,
"Did you try to regain control?" Starlight Glimmer asked,
"Yes, but after about three days, I lost complete control of myself, I could only watch." Ocellus replied,
"It's not your fault, Ocellus." Starlight Glimmer said,
"Yes, it is, it's my fault this whole mess started, I almost killed my siblings as well." Ocellus replied,
"What else happened?" Starlight Glimmer asked,
"I ripped my favorite pair of clothes while I wasn't myself, and I used the animals' brains and organs as art, and their blood as paint." Ocellus replied, Starlight Glimmer became uncomfortable,
"Did anything else happen?" Starlight Glimmer asked,
"I started taunting the changelings on how they are a bunch of obedient cowards, and that they're jealous of my superior physical abilities, oh, I said horrible things to them." Ocellus replied while she covered her own face with her own front hoofs,
"Is that all?" Starlight Glimmer asked, Ocellus nods,
"Okay, Ocellus, take a deep breath and have some empathy cocoa." Starlight Glimmer said, and she gave Ocellus a cup of cocoa and she drank it, she exhaled as well,
"Well, that is all, you weren't yourself, and it's not your fault, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself, till next time, Ocellus." Starlight Glimmer said, and Ocellus exited the office. Ocellus exits the office and saw Sandbar, Gallus, Smolder, Yona, and Silverstream outside and looking at her with shock, having overheard what she said to Starlight Glimmer,
"No! Don't look at me!" Ocellus said while she looked away while clenching her teeth and had her eyes closed, she ran away, making her five friends worried.
Ocellus laid on the bed in her dormitory and was still sad about what has happened, knocking was heard at her door,
"It's me, Ocellus, can I enter?" Thorax asked,
"Come in." Ocellus replied, and he did, he had her diary with him,
"Twilight called me here after how you behaved in school today, so I'm here to check up on you, and if you wish, take you back home." Thorax said,
"No, it's fine." Ocellus replied,
"I also brought your diary here in case you wanted to keep writing, Pharynx wanted to keep it, but I thought it would be better to give it to you." Thorax said, Ocellus looks at him with shock,
"Is he planning to do another experiment?" Ocellus asked,
"No, he deemed the experiment a failure, he wanted to use your notes so we could learn from this experiment, and not make the same mistake again." Thorax replied,
"So, what is he going to do with those changelings who can't change?" Ocellus asked,
"Well, for one, he might choose one, and try to have them changed into something they want, but he's less than willing to do it now after we saw what happened to you." Thorax replied, Ocellus looks down with sorrow,
"It's not your fault, Ocellus." Thorax said,
"Yes, it is, I'm the one who said to do what you all did, and look at what I became." Ocellus replied,
"That's because you didn't choose what you wanted to be changed into, Pharynx is going to take several precautions next time since he believes if we change a changeling into an animal through surgery, they will start acting just like that animal over time." Thorax said,
"I'm still ashamed with what I've done." Ocellus replied,
"You're not the only one." Thorax said,
"Huh?" Ocellus asked as she turned her head to the left to face him,
"Pharynx has been full of shame and guilt as well." Thorax said, surprising Ocellus,
"How is my family?" Ocellus asked,
"They're a bit traumatized, too, especially Gymnosperm, since you bit her, we had to check her to make sure she didn't contact any sicknesses, luckily, she didn't." Thorax replied, Ocellus looked down with shame again,
"I'm sorry, Ocellus, but I have to go now, I have to help rebuild the hive, I'll try to come over whenever I can." Thorax said,
"Okay, bye." Ocellus replied, and Thorax left, Ocellus sat in her bed for the rest of the day and went to sleep at night, she had nightmares about what she did all night until Princess Luna zapped them away, Ocellus still slept while still being filled with guilt and shame.
Morning comes and Ocellus took her diary with her, she goes to class and saw Fluttershy's class was first, which made her uncomfortable, she sat and tried to do the work, but she could not,
"Now, Ocellus, I heard about yesterday, you can step out of my class if you like." Fluttershy said, Ocellus nods slowly and sadly, Fluttershy continues teaching her class while Ocellus read what she wrote in her diary, she finds the part that she wrote when she began to completely change and was shocked by what she wrote, she sniveled a little and ran out of the class when it was time to meet the animals. Sandbar, Gallus, Smolder, Yona, and Silverstream go to her desk and see the diary, they read it and gasp.
Twilight Sparkle contacted the Changeling Kingdom and Thorax and Pharynx went to the School of Friendship, they go to her office and see her there along with Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, Starlight Glimmer, Spike, Sandbar, Gallus, Ocellus, Smolder, Yona, and Silverstream,
"Thorax, Pharynx, we need to talk." Twilight Sparkle said,
"Yes." Thorax said,
"Several of my students saw this diary open on Ocellus' desk." Twilight Sparkle said as she showed it to them with her telekinesis,
"I told you to give that to me." Pharynx said,
"I thought Ocellus would want to keep writing in it." Thorax replied,
"These five turned it in to me, what is this about surgery and some other voice in Ocellus' head?" Twilight Sparkle asked, Thorax and Pharynx become shocked,
"It's no use telling them she's sick now, Pharynx, they know." Thorax said,
"What did you guys do to our friend?" Sandbar asked,
"It was an experiment, Ocellus was chosen by chance, it could've been any of us." Thorax replied,
"An experiment? For what?" Rarity asked,
"Some of the changelings have a defect, they can't change into anything, so Pharynx came up with an experiment to see if we can fix it." Thorax replied,
"What was the experiment?" Rainbow Dash asked,
"To have a changeling undergo surgery and change into what they desire, every changeling put their names on a folded sheet of paper and placed it inside a hat, I shook it and picked out a random paper, it had Ocellus' name on it." Pharynx replied,
"Y'all lied to us, y'all said she was sick." Applejack said,
"That's because the experiment wasn't done yet at that time." Pharynx replied,
"But we left Ocellus treats and cards." Yona said,
"Yeah, which I made." Pinkie Pie said,
"I already had them." Ocellus replied,
"Why didn't you guys contact us to see if we can cure them with our magic?" Starlight Glimmer asked,
"Even though you unicorns can do impressive things, I doubt even you guys can cure the defected changelings." Pharynx replied,
"You still should've called us and let us try." Rarity said,
"That's what I told you to do, Pharynx." Thorax said, Ocellus becomes sad,
"I killed so many changelings and wild animals, it's all my fault." Ocellus said,
"No, it isn't, Ocellus, you weren't yourself." Pharynx replied,
"But it is, I told you guys what to do for the surgery, and you guys did, and look at what I became." Ocellus said,
"What you requested the doctors to do had unpredictable results, no one knew you were going to change that way." Thorax replied,
"What did you tell them to do?" Silverstream asked,
"Well, since I didn't know what I wanted to be changed into, I told them to just reverse all of hormones and pheromones in my body, and change my genes around." Ocellus replied,
"Change your genetic code and reverse your hormones and pheromones? Of course that's going to have sudden results, no one knows how that will change someone." Twilight Sparkle said,
"And look at what it did, all of this is my fault." Ocellus said,
"No, Ocellus, it's my fault, I'm the one who came up with the experiment in the first place." Pharynx replied,
"Yeah, that basically makes Ocellus innocent." Smolder said,
"Yeah, see, Ocellus? You have nothing to be ashamed about." Gallus said,
"But those changelings and animals that I killed..." Ocellus said sadly while looking down with her eyes closed,
"Were the results of my experiment, none of this would've happened if I didn't come up with it." Pharynx replied, Ocellus still felt sad,
"So, um, what are you guys going to do now?" Spike asked,
"We're going to try to find another way to cure the defected changelings, the experiment was a failure." Thorax replied,
"Bring them here, let's see if we can cure them with our magic." Twilight Sparkle said, and Thorax and Pharynx left. Thorax and Pharynx come back and had the defected changelings outside, they try to change but could not, Twilight Sparkle, Starlight Glimmer, and Rarity cast spells in an attempt to cure them,
"How did they get defected in the first place?" Rainbow Dash asked,
"They were born that way, the gland that allows us to change is either abnormal inside of them, or they don't have the gland at all." Thorax replied, the three unicorns trot to him after a while,
"Sorry, but we can't cure them." Starlight Glimmer said,
"I knew you guys couldn't do it." Pharynx replied,
"Come on, guys, let's go home." Thorax said, and he and the defected changelings fly home,
"Keep an eye on Ocellus for us, contact us if she starts acting suicidal." Pharynx said, and he flies home as well.
A few days pass and the students and teachers were trying their best to comfort Ocellus,
"Ocellus, I contacted your home, would you like your family to be here for you?" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"No, it's fine, thank you, though." Ocellus replied, the others continue to comfort her,
"Has anything happened at home?" Ocellus asked,
"Well, Thorax said Pharynx has been tending to the families of the changelings you killed, he's raising the children who were orphaned, he also goes to visit the animals that were hurt by you, and the families of the ones you killed and apologized, Thorax said Pharynx is also having nightmares on what has happened." Starlight Glimmer replied, Ocellus felt bad for him,
"I need to rest." Ocellus said, and she put her head down while her friends comforted her.
A week passes and she was in Rarity's class, Rarity managed to make a set of pajamas from the same material of the old one, it was the same color as well,
"Here, you go darling." Rarity said,
"Oh, thank you, Rarity." Ocellus said as she hugged her new pajamas while smiling and had her eyes closed, she resumes class and sees Rarity had fans in the classroom to use to make their manes blow in the wind for photos, Ocellus has thought about turning into a bug and flying into the fan several times, but her friends kept her from doing it, along with the thoughts on how devastated her family would be if she died. The day ends and Ocellus sleeps at night, she wakes up the next morning and gets her supplies, she hears voices outside and looks out the window, she saw Pharynx leading child changelings orphaned from her attack and was showing them around Equestria, Ocellus felt bad about leaving the kids orphaned, but had to get ready for class, so she heads out of her room and walks to class, unsure of what the future will hold for her.
