> Blue Electric's Destiny > by Blueelectric > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Ch 1: Moving In > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Luna's moon rises upon a sleeping town, a black figure trotted toward a large building carrying two saddlebags full of stuff. But she isn't like most ponies that lived here, she is solid black with electric blue mane and tail and matching blue eyes and wings. Her eyes are bat-like and so was her wings. This is Blue Electric; a bat pony. She is from a cavern town called Transylmania. She walked up to the front door and knocked. "Coming! Just starting to close up shop!" Shouted a calm voice. The door opened up and a pink unicorn appeared. She got a violet mane and tail with pink streaks; with her mane is tied up in a bun. She also got blue glasses covering her matching blue eyes. Cutie Mark is that of an encyclopedia. "Oh, hello there. You must be Blue, the new night guard. Welcome to Ponyville. My name is Miss Era; the owner of The Ponyville Museum. I'm sorry to hear about your mother." she said sympathetically. Blue's mother passed away from a bad stomach tumor. Blue was still recovering from her grief, so the mayor of Transylmania told her to move to Ponyville and have a fresh new start. Miss Era and her mother were best friends, so the kind unicorn offered her a job and a place to stay. She went inside and followed Miss Era into the museum, past the exhibits, and down the stairs into a basement. It was small but spacious, with a kitchen and a bedroom side by side of each other. There were two doors beside each other on one side of the wall. "Where's the bathroom, Miss?" she asked politely. Miss Era then open one of the doors and point to it. Blue glanced in it too find a small bathroom with a walk-in shower, a toilet, and a sink with a small medicine cabinet. "Your work schedule starts at 7:30 pm and ends at 12:00 am. Your job is to lock up the exhibits and patrol the hallways. You start tomorrow night, so you can settle down tonight." Miss Era told her. She bids her goodnight, then left for home. Blue unpacked her bags and made her bed. she opens the other door to find a closet with a uniform already in it. The uniform was her size with her name tag already on it. She unpacked her Daring Do books and put it on her shelf by her bed. She was Daring Do fan since the first book released. She then put Daring Do posters on her wall near her bed. She got out her alarm clock and set it to 7:00 pm and placed it on her nightstand. She then placed her dishes in the cabinets and put her silverware in her kitchen drawers. She looked in the fridge to find it empty. I need to stock up on food, she thought, Maybe tomorrow, after work. She looked in her other saddlebags and found three bags full of bits that's from her mother. She also unpacked a picture frame of her and her mother. She unwrapped it and looked at it. She shed a tear and said, "Mother, I did it. I got the job. I hope you're proud of me." She then placed the picture on the nightstand, beside the clock. It was just her and her mother, nopony else. They had been through so much together. After her father left, she lived the rest of her fillyhood in peace. She got her cutie mark by saving Translymaneia's treasure from a couple of thieves; a ball of blue electricity. Her father used to do horrible things to her and her mother, even as far as making Blue fight a manticore. She still got her scars; three slash marks hidden under her left wing. The town leader then banished her father, telling him to not to come back. Blue was afraid of stallions ever since; that's why she's only into mares. She looked at her clock to find it at 10:00 am. she yawned and flopped down on her bed, instantly asleep. "You are nothing!". A hoof hit her in the chest. "Why don't you fight, you coward!" Blue gazed up at a dark gray figure with black mane and tail, his dark amber eyes gleaming with hatred. "What kind of bat pony are you if you can't even fight!".The same hoof kicked her in the stomach. She wheezed, shaking with fear, crying out with pain. He picked her up and slammed her against the wall. Her whole body was screaming with pain. "Cinder!, That's enough! She's only a filly!" A dark purple rushed to the poor shaking filly's side. She scooped her up and cradled her. "Morning Glory! Are you trying to disrupt me?! It's never to early to teach a foal to fight!". The dark purple mare with light blue curly mane and tail glared at her husband with disgust and fear in her pale blue eyes. "Maybe she doesn't want to be a fighter, do you even think of that? not every bat pony in this town is a fighter! she might want to be a gardener like me, or a chef, or even a vet! So stop with your hitting!" Cinder's hoof hit his wife in the side of her face. She fell on the floor dropping Blue in the process, blood dripping from her mouth. "You don't tell me what I can or can not do with my own daughter. I ran this household, not you! If I want my daughter to be a fighter, then she will be a fighter!". He turned back to Blue and raise his hoof to strike her in the face. Blue woke up with a gasp, shivering with fear and wheezing. Cold sweat was pouring down her face, with tears in her eyes. She buried her head in her pillows and sobbed. She cried for her mother, cried for her fillyhood. She glanced at her clock to see that it was 12:00 pm. She had slept for two hours. She ran to the kitchen sink, poured herself a glass of water and chugged it down. She then went back to bed to try to sleep. She turn back and forth trying to get sleep, but she was getting restless. Eventually, she went back to sleep. > Ch 2:First Night On The Job. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The alarm clock woke Blue up from an uncomfortable slumber. She shut it off and got her uniform from her closet and put it on. She went into the bathroom to relieve herself and brush her teeth. She picks up her brush and groomed her mane and tail. She got out of her bathroom and head out into the Museum. As she adjusts her night vision, her wings glow in the dark as she went to the front desk and grab a set of keys to the exhibits. She went to the first exhibit and closed the gate, locking it. She then locked up the rest. She then starts patrolling the hallways, making sure there are no thieves. She checks the windows and the front and back doors. She also checks the storage room. She then went to the front desk and sat there, keeping a close eye on things. She kept her ears perked, making sure nothing go past her good hearing. Time passed on, she started to get sleepy, her eyes trying to shut, her head drooping. She shook her self awake and resume her night guard. To keep her self busy and awake; Blue decided to look at the exhibits. She walked down the hallway to the first exhibit, a skeleton of a velociraptor. She was amazed at its fearsome look, from its large upright claw on each foot to its sharp teeth. She learned a lot from her old biology teacher. About how the dinosaurs lived along before ponies and how they now evolve into the dragons known today. The some of the early dinosaurs started to develop fire and wings. The weaker dinos then died out. They have been here long before Equestria's even founded. Even longer before the three pony tribes. After that ponykind forced them to stay to what is now The Dragonlands. She then passed a fossil of an Equus ferus ferus,, an ancient species of earth pony. They are an ancestor of the modern ponies today. She then headed over to the art section of the museum, gazing at paintings from Pona Lisa to Picasso. The clock then strike 12. Instead of going back to her basement/apartment, she instead heads out the door for a midnight flight. She flaps her bat-like wings and took off. She flew high in the night, soaring through the starry sky. She found a cloud right above the town and landed on it. She settles down on it and gazed down at the sleeping town below. At one end, there was a huge castle, shaped in a large crystally tree. She looked at it, confused. Nopony at her home town told her that there was a princess living in Ponyville. Maybe that's where the mayor lives, but mayors aren't royalty, just lousy politicians, so who could be living in this castle? She looked away from it to a house shaped like a gingerbread house. Her stomach growled, reminding her that she hasn't eaten anything since she moved here. The sign said Sugarcube Corner, so it must be a bakery. There are huts all over the town. She glanced up and spotted a large mansion made out of clouds. Curiously, she flew over to it landing quietly near it. The property was covered in rainbows. Even the streams look like liquidity rainbows. She walked to one and sniffed at it. She took her tongue out and lapped at it taking a mouthful. Then her mouth feel like it was on fire! She holds her breath, looking around quietly, so she doesn't wake up the sleeping resident. She took a bite out of the cloud, but it didn't cooled the burning inferno in her mouth. So she flew fast to a water fountain in the center of the town and took a big gulp of water. She finished gasping for air, reminding herself to never try and taste liquefied rainbows again. She flew back to the cloud mansion, hovering at one of the windows. She looked in and found a bedroom covered with poster of some flying team. In the bed was a cyan mare with the most gorgeous rainbow mane sleeping. She then when to another window and found what seems to be a tortoise. Feeling tired she settled down on a spot near the door and fell asleep. Cinder barged in the house, looking around and spotted Blue cowering in fear. He then walked up to her and shoved her hard against the wall. "Why aren't you in school!", he yelled in her face. "If you aren't going to be a fighter, at least try and make your self useful, you stupid coward!" He slapped her hard in the face. He then threw her on the floor. "Go to your room! No dinner for you tonight!" She ran in her room tears in her eyes. She heard her door locked. "Morning! Where are you, you STUPID mare?! We got some explaining to do!" She heard the quiet footsteps of her mother. She heard her mother yelp in pain. "Why is our brat not in school today?!" Her angry father snarled. "She wasn't feeling well. Her belly was hurting her." her mother whimpered fearfully. "Her belly's hurting her, my flank! Quit trying to make up excuses for her! Now make me some dinner and don't you even dare try to feed the brat tonight or you'll be in much worst pain!" Blue collapsed on her bed, sobbing quietly, holding her face in pain. Every day she wished that she and her mother were freed from the horrible monster that was called her father. Hoping and praying to Celestia that someone will free them from their tormentor, but they never came. She barely had enough to eat. Her father always orders her mother to feed only Blue little scraps of dinner. And sometimes none at all. The only full meals she ever eats were breakfast and lunch at school. She always goes to bed hungry. She always wonders why her father hates them, especially Blue. Her mother always told her before she was born his target was just her; but when Blue arrived her father put most of the abuse on her. She then cried herself to sleep. > Ch 3:Rainbow's Surprise Visitor > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Dash shot straight up awake this morning, excited for another day in the weather team. She dashed down the stairs, feeding Tank and made herself some toast. She rushed out the door pausing to admire the beautiful weather. It won't be before long, as light rain was on the schedule for this evening, followed by clear skies at night. As she looked to the right she yelp, startled by the newcomer. She slowly crept to the dark sleeping form. At first, Rainbow thought it was just a strange bird, but quickly realize she was a pony. She thought she was a regular Pegasus, but as she crept slowly to her she starts to noticed bat wings instead of the usual feathered wings. Her ears have tuff of fur at the tips and her blue wings are the same color as her mane. Who is this strange pony and why is she sleeping near my door, she wondered. She then notices that she was twitching and tears were streaming down her eyes. Nothing else to do she poked her on the back. The strange bat mare starts to stir, her eyes starting to flicker open, revealing strange bright blue cat-like eyes. Rainbow also sees that she's wearing some sort of uniform. The black mare jumped startled, seeing the prismatic mane Pegasus, backing up in fear ready to flee. Dash jumped in her way calming the strange mare with a friendly look in her eyes. "Wait! I'm sorry that I scared ya." She intterupted. "But I was wondering what you're doing sleeping at my house. I'm Rainbow Dash, by the way!" she said with a grin. The bat pony calms down a bit. Then she replied nervously "Blue Electric. I was sleeping by your house because I was out for a midnight flight, then I landed on a cloud tho observe the town, since I just moved here the night before yesterday and I discovered this place," she explained tearfully. "I'm sorry, I promise not to do it again." She was still trembling with fear. Without thinking, Rainbow wrapped her forelegs around the shivering mare. "It's okay. I'm not mad, just startled. It's all cool. I sleep in random places too." Blue flinched for a moment and after a few moments, exchange the hug. "Now, I was wondering, why were you crying in your sleep?", she asked. "Just a little nightmare. Nothing more." She murmured, staring at the cloud beneath her. Rainbow then looked at the town clock and said, "Look, as much I want to chat, I have weather duties to attend. So why don't we meet back near Sugarcube Corner, and I'll introduce you to some of my friends and have some grub." Blue was looking uncertain for a moment. But she then sighed and answered. "I'll meet you there." She smiled at the rainbow maned mare politely. "Thanks." Rainbow smiled back at her appreciatly. She then waved at her and flew off to the weather factory. After she was done patching up the sky for the evening shower, she went to Twilight's castle and knocked on the door. A young purple dragon answered the door. "Hey Spike, is Twilight home?" "Oh, sure Rainbow Dash! Twilight!" A purple Alicorn walked up to the door. "Hey, Rainbow Dash, what seems to be the problem?" She asked curiously. "Well there's this new pony in town that suddenly showed up and slept on my doorstep, and I was wondering we could, you know, we all could head out and head over to Sugercube Corner to meet her, and introduce ourselves?." She explained. Twilight thought for a moment, then nodded her head in agreement. "Sure, I'm not busy right now, so I'll head over right away." Rainbow Dash nodded and flew away to get the other four. As they all got there, Pinkie was already there, harassing the new pony. "Oh, it's been so long since we have someone new here! Welcome to Ponyville! What's your name!" Rarity walked over and whacked Pinkie on the with a branch with her magic. "Pinkie Pie! Stop harassing that poor guess!". Throwing the branch away, she turned to Blue Electric, "I'm sorry dear, Pinkie Pie can be such a hoof full. The names Rarity, by the way." Blue dipped her head in greetings. The others took their turn to greet their new guest. "I'm Twilight, it so nice to meet you!" Fluttershy hid behind her mane shyly, "Umm...I'm Fluttershy." "And I'm Applejack, nice to meet ya". Greeted the farmer mare lastly. Rainbow Dash then led them in the sweet shop. They each ordered their sweets; Rainbow ordered a zap apple cupcake, Twilight ordered some apple cinnamon muffins, Rarity ordered a tart, Applejack, a slice of zap apple pie, Pinkie Pie grabbed a bag full of candy, Fluttershy, some daisy cookies, and Blue, a slice of cherry pie. They each order some ice tea. They all sat at a table near the window. They all ask where she's from and where she's been living at now. Twilight was excited that Blue lives and works in a museum, while Rainbow thinks is awesome that she is a nightguard. She told them that her mother passed away and Fluttershy walked over and gave her a hug. After their talk Blue left to sleep at home before her shift. The light evening shower finally fell. "There is one thing I had forgot to mention, When I found her curled up next to my door, she was twitching and crying in her sleep." The cyan pegasus told with concern. The other exchange worried expressions. Then Twilight spoke, "Well, I've been reading on some book about psychology, and I came across something about that and I think Blue might have a traumatize childhood, and with the death of her mother I think it got worst." Pinkie's face was etched with guilt, her mane wilting a little, "Sorry that I yelled in her face, I was just excited too see a new face in so long. If i knew that something is wrong with her, I would never do that in first place." Twilight put a hoof reassuringly on Pinkie shoulder, "Its alright Pinkie, you didn't know," She turns to the others, "Alright everypony. I need everypony to keep an eye on her whenever she's out, we each take turns to stay at town each night to make sure she's alright." All five of them look uncertain, they all have responsibilities and need sleep. But they all agree to make sure her new life in Ponyville is comforting. They also decided on a sleepover at the castle this weekend and invite Blue That made Pinkie's mane poof back to normal. Twilight also decided to tell Mayor Mare to tell the town council to watch for a little while. Rainbow Dash left to clear away clouds from the light rain. As she kicked the last cloud away, she decided to check on Blue and landed near the Museum. She did not like what egghead stuff they had in there, but she needed to go and check on her new friend. She notices a basement window and peck inside. She saw Blue curled up under a blanket. Her eyes widened in delight. All around her bed was Daring Do stuff. Where did she even get that blanket? Seeing that she is alright she flew back home, happy that there's a new local DD fan. > Ch.4: Castle Sleepover > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was Saturday morning and she got her first pay. Miss Era showed up and paid her 200 bits. She also gave her, her mail. It was some type of envelope. She took her money and locked it in her chest she bought real cheap at a thrift store. She opened the envelope and found a letter with an invitation attached to it she read the letter: Dear Blue Electric, I want to tell you I'm sorry that I scared you. I'm just excited to see a new face in town that I didn't know how you feel. To make it up, I'm inviting you for a sleepover at Twilight's castle. So just grab your blanket and meet me at the entrance, Pinkie Pie. She read the invitation; sleepover at 8:30 pm. She hesitated, not sure if she wants to sleepover at a place with a bunch of ponies she just met. With her nightmares, she doesn't want to scare them. Rainbow Dash was the only one of them that knows a little. But she decided to go, to try it out. She got one of her saddlebags and pack a pillow and a sleeping bag. Miss Era had told her that she takes the weekend off. Blue Electric then went to the kitchen to grab herself some lunch. She sliced up some tomatoes and cucumbers and put them between two slices of bread. She opened up her window and flew to a cloud above the Museum and laid on her back munching on her sandwich. She spotted a rainbow streak appeared, clearing all the clouds from last night's storm. Her weather calendar told her it's going to be clear skies all day. She finished up her sandwich and stretch her wings. She flew to a tall tree and curled her tail along a branch and hung upside down wrapping her wings around her body and fell asleep. As Rainbow Dash cleared away the last cloud, she decided to have a little nap. She spotted a large tree and decided to take a nap in it. As she approached it she spotted something hanging on one of the branches. She lands below it and looked up. The figure was Blue Electric. What is she doing?, she wondered, snickering. She never saw anypony sleeping like that. She kicked at it, making it shake. Blue woke up startled and fell off the branch to the ground with a thud. She heard laughter and turned to find Rainbow Dash on the ground laughing, tears in her eyes. "You should see your face!" She stopped laughing and looked at her. Blue glared at her, angry that her peaceful nap was interrupted. "But seriously how in Equestria are you sleeping like that?" Asked Rainbow, curiously. "Bat ponies always sleep like that. But most of us preferred a bed." she said sourly. "Sorry, I just thought it was funny." Dash apologized. "So, do you want to go for a fly? I was going to take a nap myself, but change of plans." Blue thought a moment, still angry but agree to it. They both took off flying around town for a moment. Rainbow Dash spotted Fluttershy at her cottage and landed with Blue to meet her. Fluttershy was tending to her animals and spotted Rainbow and their new friend landed near her. "Oh, Rainbow, you're just in time! And you brought Blue too. Come on in, I'll make you some tea." They head in the cottage and sat down on her couch. Blue notices a goofy grin on Rainbow's face as she watches Fluttershy enter the kitchen. "You like her, don't you?" She looked at Blue with a shocked expression, her face turning red as a tomato. "No I don't! I just like her tea that's all!" She chuckled nervously. Blue rolled her eyes. A white bunny looked at her nodding with a smirk. "You too, Angel? Alright." She whispered to Blue. "Yes, I like her. There's something about her that makes my heart flutter. Her laugh, her smile. Heck, I never would found my pet tortoise if it wasn't for her." She sighed "But she'll never like me like that." Blue put her hoof on her shoulder. "Of course she will, you just have to tell her how you feel. If she doesn't, I'm sure she will never end your friendship. You six have the strongest friendship out of anypony I know." Dash looked at Blue with a smile. "Thanks, Blue. Its only been a couple of days since we meet and you already giving me advice." Fluttershy came back with some tea and a plate of apple cinnamon scones. Blue sipped at it and tasted rosemary. "Wow, Fluttershy, this is very good!" Blue praised her. She blushed and hid behind her pink mane. "Thanks, it's a family recipe." Blue took a bite of one of the scones and flavor burst in her mouth. "So, Blue how do you like it in Ponyville so far?" Blue looked at her and shrugged. "It's peaceful, lots of friendly faces, not like what I had back home." Fluttershy nodded. "Where are you from?" "Transylmaneia. It's a small underground town in a large cave." "Fascinating!" She told Rainbow who nodded in agreement. Blue looked at the time. It's 7:30. "Well, Look at the time. I have to get going, but I'll see you at the sleepover." She told. "Well, see you there." Fluttershy took the dishes and went to put them in the sink. Blue turned to Dash, "I'll leave you two to talk about things." She nodded. "Alright. I'll see you there too." Blue headed out the door and flew off, heading back to the museum. She went inside and went into the bathroom to take a quick shower. Then she went to her room and grabbed her saddlebag. After that, she heads back out the door. As she landed by the entrance of the castle, a certain pink Earth pony ran up to her and gave her a big hug. "Hi Bluey! You made It! I'm sorry about the other day!" She exclaimed loudly. "It's all right, you didn't know." They knocked on the door and a purple unicorn with mint green streaks in her mane appeared. "Oh! You must be here for the sleepover too," She held her hoof out to Blue Electric. "I'm Starlight Glimmer, Twilight's student." Blue took it. "Blue Electric, but you can call me Blue." Starlight led the way into the castle. Blue looked around her eyes widened in astonishment, this place is huge! Like its bigger on the inside. They headed in a room where there's a large table with a bunch of chairs surrounding it. As she gave it a closer look she notices it's a hologram map of Equestria. "This is the cutie map, if there's a friendship problem, your cutie mark will glow and it will appear on the map showing you where to go." Starlight explained. Blue nodded. They headed to a large room where three of her new friends already set up. Applejack tipped her hat, "Howdy, sugar cube," Blue dipped her head. Twilight spotted them and trotted up and gave her a hug. "You made it! Just put your sleeping bag wherever you want." Blue put her sleeping bag beside Rarity's and sat down on it. "Hello, Darling, aren't you just excited?" Rarity asked. Blue nodded. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash also appeared. Rainbow Dash lock eyes with Blue and gave her a wink. Both Pegasi laid their bags near her. Twilight dimmed the lights in the room and settle down in her sleeping bag. Pinkie Pie hopped in and brought a big box of cupcakes, each with their respected colors. Blue took hers and bite into it. She loved the creamy texture of the cupcake and savored the flavors. When they finished up there cupcakes, Twilight spoke up. "So, Blue what's was it like in your fillyhood?" Blue looked nervous, not sure if she wants to talk about it at all, but she told anyway, "Well, my fillyhood has been the worst. My father, you see is an awful father. He used to do horrid things to me and my mother. He would yell at me and start hitting us." The others gasped in shock,"You poor dear! Well, did you two escaped?" Rarity asked her eyes widened with horror. Blue lifted her left-wing and show them the scars underneath it. "Well, not at first, he then made me try to fight a manticore, he told me if I don't he'll kick me out of town. So I fought it but I lost as it clawed me. He left me to bleed to death. But then the town's leader appeared and flew me to the hospital. They patched me up and I stayed there for a week. She then banished him from town and my mother finally divorced him. I steal have these scars to this day." Anger appeared in Rainbow's eyes, "How dare that scum treats you like that! If I see somepony do that to a foal, they will never see the light of day!" Fluttershy put her hoof on Dash's shoulder. "Easy Dashie, just calm down, they already punish him. But I agree nopony should be treated that way." Twilight then spoke. "But you survived Blue, those scars are proof of that. I think you're even braver than all of us." They all then went to sleep. Blue walked into a field full of beautiful violets. She rolled around in them enjoying their scent. The flowers then turned into her old house. A pair of hooves then held her by the neck. "Stupid brat! I'll kill you. I'll kill you in your sleep!" She looked up and spotted her father, his eyes were glowing red. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Starlight woke up to the sound of whimpering. She looked around and spotted the bat pony twitching madly in her sleep. Blue then stopped breathing. Starlight gasped and rushed over, giving her CPR. She rolled Blue on to her back pumping air in her. Blue then shot awake taking deep breaths. "That's it breath, Blue" she soothed hugging her. "He's gone, he's not going to hurt you again." Blue hugged her back burying her muzzle in her chest, tears streaming down her eyes. > Ch.5: The Wonderbolt Show > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blue Electric woken up the Saturday after the sleepover at Twilight's castle. Today Rainbow Dash is taking her to the Wonderbolt show with her date, Fluttershy. I guess I'm going as third wheel, she thought amusingly. When she told Rainbow she never heard of the Wonderbolts, she went ballistic, buying her a ticket straight away. Blue never seen the look of shock quite like Rainbow Dash's. Blue then went out of bed to find it was 8:00 am, so she grabbed a clean towel and went into her bathroom. She sighed with relief as warm water ran down her body. She thought about what had happened at the sleepover. She was thankful when Starlight woke her up. Blue was shocked when Starlight told her she stopped breathing. Was her nightmare that bad? She was thankful that Starlight didn't told the other girls. She didn't want the others to worry about her own problems. She turn off the shower and dried off. She then got her brush and groom her spiky blue mane and tail. She also brushed her teeth. She then went into the kitchen and sliced up an apple and put it into a blender. She crack an egg and also put it into the blender. She turn it on and watch as it mashed into a liquid. She poured her breakfast in a glass cup and chugged it down. She decided to go to the marketplace before the show. So, she grabbed her saddlebag and put some bits in it. When then open her window, hopped out and shut it. She found out that going out her window is far more convenient than going out the front door of the large museum. She then took off to the marketplace. She was purchasing a bag of mangoes, when she heard a familiar voice called out a greeting. She turned and spotted Starlight walking her way with a blue unicorn with a magician hat and cape. "Oh, hello Starlight," she greeted back as she drop her bag and walked over to greeted the purple unicorn. She turn to the blue unicorn. "Who are you?" She asked curiously. The unicorn reared up on her hind legs. "I am the Grreat and Powerful Trixie!", she introduced. She held out a hoof in greetings. "Starlight had told so much about you." Blue took her hoof. Starlight shook her head with a smile at her friend enthusiasm. "So, how you've been doing Blue," she asked. "Nothing much, just doing my job as usual," she answered. "Rainbow Dash is taking me to see a Wonderbolt show with Fluttershy." She stared at the two mares mischievously, "Are you two dating?" She asked joking. The two mares stared at her with a shocking look in their faces, blushing madly. "W-what? No! We are just friends and I'm straight! I mean I think I am!" Said the blushing purple unicorn. "Y-yeah, Trixie is too!", agreed Trixie. Blue was already on the ground cackling. "I'm just kidding you two," she said as she was catching her breath. "You should of seen your faces!" She wiped a stray tear from her face. "Oh!, I never guess you had it in you Blue," said Starlight, her check still red. Then both unicorns covered their mouths giggling. "I guess we'll just let you be. Have fun at the Wonderbolts show." They both walked off. Blue look at the town clock and see that it was 9:50. The Wonderbolts show doesn't start till 10. Horseapples! I'm gonna be late! She swore silently. She rushed back home and dropped off her mangoes. She then went back out and flew off towards the stadium. She quickly soared towards town and spotted the stadium near some mountains. As she got there a huge line was form near the entrance. At the back waiting for her, was Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. She landed when she saw them waving up at her. "Hey, Blue! are you excited for the Wonderbolts show?" Asked Rainbow. She nodded her head nervously. Then the line started to move forward. They each give the worker their tickets and went inside. They took the top seats. Rainbow Dash left to get some snacks, leaving Fluttershy and Blue to start a conversation. "So, Blue what do you think? Are you excited?" asked Fluttershy. She nodded her head. "Rainbow Dash always wanted to join the Wonderbolts. I think it's sounds very frightening, just thinking about all those terrifying tricks." Fluttershy continued. Blue silently agrees with her. "It's not so terrifying if you know what your doing." said a voice behind them. They look back to find two mares, one was a minty green unicorn with a lyre for a cutie mark and the other a cream colored earth pony with a pink and blue mane. The one who spoke was the unicorn. Fluttershy greeted them,"Oh, hello Lyra And Bonbon, you're here to see the Wonderbolts too?" They both nodded their heads. "Blue, this is Lyra and Bonbon, Lyra and Bonbon meet Blue Electric, she's the newest night guard at the museum." They both said their greetings. Bonbon look at Fluttershy with surprise. "This is the first time I ever seen you at one of these shows before. What made you want to come?" Fluttershy look towards the fields with a blush. "Well, I came here with Rainbow Dash. It's our second date." Lyra gasped in delight, "You and Rainbow, on a date? That's wonderful! Bonnie and I are on a date too. This is probably our thousandth date." Rainbow already returned carrying some snacks. She seated next to Fluttershy and hand out some snacks. She gave Blue a bag of cotton candy and some apple soda in a plastic cup. Soon the announcer spoke,"Mares And Gentlecolts Of Ponyville, Presenting The Wonderbolts!" Dozens of pegisi in blue and yellow uniforms flew in a V shape formation. In lead was a mare with a flame colored mane. Beside her in each sides is a blue maned stallion and a mare with a silver mane. Rainbow Dash pointed at them. "The one in the front is the captain of the Wonderbolts; Spitfire. The stallion beside her is co-captain Soarin and the mare beside them is Fleetfoot. They're the main three Wonderbolts I know and most famous." She explained with an excited smile. Blue watch in awe as she watch the pegasi fly in amazing formation. Then all of a sudden grey clouds formed in the sky. Loud thunder roared and lighting flash across the sky. Wind was picking up in all angles and the audiences ran for cover. She can only watch in horror as lightning strikes Spitfire and she fell to the ground. And without thinking she rushed forward and caught the captain of the wonderbolts before she hit the ground. And they both hit the ground, with Blue cushioning the blow. She then blacked out. > Ch.6:Spitfire's Saviour > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ten minutes earlier.... Spitfire and the other Wonderbolts were in the locker room, getting ready for the show in Ponyville. They were staying in Ponyville for this and next weekend's performance and staying at the town's hotel. After she put on her uniform and goggles, she turned to her teammates. "Okay team, we got a big crowd out there and I wish you good luck. Who knows what might happen today, but I hope all of you all put on a great show." She said. The whole team cheered in excitement. With Spitfire in lead, they all head out onto the platform. Spitfire gaze down to the large crowd. Soarin tapped Spitfire on the back. She look back at him with raised eyebrow. He pointed at crowd with an amused look. "Hey Captain, look who showed up." She look to where he pointed at. In one of the rows was newbie Dash. She was walking up to one of her friend and another mare, caring snacks. She squinted at the other mare curiously. She was a pure black mare with a flamboyant long spiky blue mane. But what caught her eyes were her matching blue bat wings and her blue eyes. Instead of round pupils like most ponies, her pupils was in slits, in which she admit was kind of cute. It made her face go warm. She and the others ready their wings as the announcer spoke and flew in a V shape formation. She felt pure joy as the crowd cheered loudly. As they perform, Spitfire keep glancing at the bat pony. She felt pride bursting in her chest as the mare look on with awe. Rainbow Dash was sitting beside Fluttershy chatting with the mare and pointing at them. Suddenly large gray clouds covered the sky and large, fat raindrops were falling out of the sky. Thunder was roaring and large lightning bolts flashing by. The crowd ran to take cover from this sudden storm. Spitfire tried to dodge the flashes of electricity but all of a sudden one hit her out of the blue and she felt herself plummeting to the ground. As she came close to hitting the ground, something rushed forward and caught her. Not before falling itself and cushioning her from the the ground below. Before she passed out she got a good look at her saviour; it was the cute bat pony who had already blacked out. Spitfire slowly laid her head on her saviour before blacking out as well. 5 hours later... Spitfire woke up later in a hospital bed. She find that she was stripped from her uniform and one of her wings have been bandaged. She heard the door open and Dr.Stable walked in levitating a clip-note. He gazed at her as he walked up towards her with a smile. "Good, afternoon Miss Spitfire, I am happy to report that you are free to go. Unfortunately, your wing got singed from that lightning strike and you have to stay off of it for a few days," he explained. "If it wasn't for that mare's brave action, it would have been a lot worst." Spitfire slowly raised from the hospital bed and landed on the floor. She gazed up at the tawny unicorn. "Well, that's somewhat good news." She paused. "How is she?" He flipped through the paperwork. "It says here she broke a wing and cracked a few ribs. You can go see her if you like. She's just in the room across from this one." She trotted out the room and head towards the other. She hesitated as she open the door and poked her head in. The mare there lying on the bed. The table beside her was full of get well cards, treats, and a bouquet of roses. Spitfire thought the black mare was asleep as she slowly step inside. A fuzzy ear twitch and the mare opened her eyes. Spitfire paused for a second as the bat pony gazed at her. "You can come over, I won't mind." She spoke in a soft voice. She turned on the lamp beside the hospital bed. "I'm Blue Electric, by the way," She continued as Spitfire walked up towards her. "But I go by the name Blue. You must Spitfire." Spitfire looked away blushing furiously. "That's correct." She look back at Blue. "I just wanted to say thank you. If it wasn't for your quick actions, I would've been done for." Blue reached out with a smile and gave her a hug. "It's no problem, everypony would have done the same." Spitfire pause for a moment, feeling hot all over. My gosh, she's so soft! she thought as she carefully return the embrace. She gazed at bandaged bat wing. "How long does the doc have you in for?" She asked. Blue followed her gaze. "Just tonight, so they can monitor me. I'll be out tomorrow morning." She replied. "Your friends with Rainbow Dash, right?" Spitfire asked as she glanced at her hero. The bat pony nodded. "Did she said anything about the sudden storm?" Blue nodded. "She said there's been a small accident at the weather factory. Luckily, none of them got hurt themselves" Spitfire sat on the cushion beside the bed. "So, your new around here?" Blue nodded her head as she reach out and snatched a cookie. "Just moved in a week ago." Her ears drooped. "My mother past away in my hometown, so I came here for a new start." She plopped the cookie in her mouth. Spitfire put her hoof on Blue's shoulder. "I'm sorry to hear about that." She said solemnly. She glanced at the gifts on the table. "So, who brought you these gifts?" She asked, changing the subject. "My new friends. Pinkie Pie gave me these cookies and Rarity got me these roses. The rest brought me the cards." Then suddenly Blue's ears pricked up. "And it sounds like they're coming back now." She glanced at Spitfire with a smirk. "Do you want to play a trick on them?" Spitfire nodded with a smile. "What should I do?" Blue glanced at the door as Spitfire heard voices. "Hide under the bed and stay very still. When one of them gets close, brush them with your tail." Spitfire nodded with a smile as she slipped under the bed. She tucked her legs under her belly and swished her tail. She held her breath as seven mares and a young dragon stepped into the room. Princess Twilight step close first. "How's your wing Blue?" The purple alicorn asked. "Doing fine. I had worst injuries then this." Blue replied. Spitfire brushed her tail against her leg. Twilight took a step back looking at the floor. "What's wrong Twilight?" Asked her assistant, Spike as he step closer. The princess shook her head. " Nothing, Spike. I thought I felt something on my leg." The fiery mare did the same to him. He jumped back with a yelp. "I felt it too!" Pinkie Pie step towards them sniffing the floor like a dog. Same thing happened. She jumped back laughing like a maniac. "That tickles!" She crouched to see what's under the bed. The pink mare giggled. "Hey everypony! Look who's hiding under the bed?" The rest crouched to see what she had find. Spitfire froze as sixteen pair of eyes gazing back at her. Rainbow Dash spoke first. "Spitfire, is that you under there?" The Wonderbolt slowly crawled back out from the bed. The others gazed at her with shock. "Sugercube, why are you hiding under the bed?" Applejack questioned. Blue spoke up, "I told her to. She came in to thank me and I wanted to surprise you all." The rest said "Ohhhhh!" Twilight smiled at her. "So how are you, feeling Spitfire?" "Doing all right. The doctor said I just singed my wing and let me go." She gazed at Blue with a smile. "And with out her saving me, things would have been a lot worst." Fluttershy smiled, "Well, that's great." The others nodded. Pinkie glanced at the cookies. "Hey, you didn't eat the rest of my get well cookies." Blue grabbed the tray. "You guys wanna share?" The others cheered in agreement and grabbed a cookie. Blue offered one to Spitfire who happily took it. The cookies were sugar cookies which said "get well!" in frosting. The rest of the evening went well as they laugh and joke around. > Ch.7:The Strange Dream > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next afternoon, Blue trotted out of the hospital with fresh new bandages around her wing. Spitfire and the rest of the Wonderbolts helped payed for her hospital bill as a way of thanks. She about to protest but Spitfire insisted; not that she's isn't grateful. She was about to head to the muesem when she heard a voice called out to her. She turn and spotted Spitfire walking up to her. Her wing is not bandaged anymore, but she still have to stay off of it for a while. "Your finally out." She was wearing a captain jacket, a whistle and a pair of shades. "I thought Dr.Stable would never let you leave." Blue flicked her ear. "I have to had another x-ray done and he told me to lay of work so it could heal." She groan with annoyance. "He even told Miss Era just to make sure." She sat down and pouted, "Now I'll be board out of my mind." Blue felt Spitfire's hoof over her shoulders. "It's not that bad Blue, trust me." Blue look up at her friend questioningly. Spitfire's eyes lit up. She leaned over and lowered her shades a little looking at Blue with a grin. "Do you want to see some Wonderbolts in training?" Blue perked up at that. They arrived at the now empty stadium. The whole team was there; with some of them doing push ups, sit ups, push ups with their wings, and doing laps in the air. Blue sat on the bleachers as the fiery Captain walked up to her teammates. "Alright Maggots, Listen Up!" The Wonderbolt rushed into line, their hooves raise up in salute. "I Want You all Fly Around This Stadium Ten Times. No Stopping Till I Say So!" They all take off as soon she blew her whistle hard. Blue folded her ears behind her head in shock. Spitfire trotted up and joined her on the bleachers. "I love my job." She beamed. Blue shook the ringing from her ears. "That whistle is loud." Spitfire lifted her whistle with a smile. "It is, isn't it? That's one thing I love being being captain." She glanced at the field with a frown. "My father was captain of the Wonderbolt when I was filly. I wanted to be just like him. He always bring me gifts from around Equestria. Then one day he never came home. My mother, Stormy Flare told me that he's busy with the shows and things. I know it's not true, he always comes home. Soon, when I was old enough to have my cutie mark, my mother told me the truth. She told me there had been a tragic accident and he lost his life." She lowered her head a little. Blue wrapped her wing around her comfortingly. Spitfire gazed at her with a smile while continuing, "So, I vowed to join the Wonderbolts and to continued his legacy. I soon got my cutie mark and worked my way to the top." She showed her the whistle. "This use to be my father's. He had given it to me before he left for the last time." "What was your father's name?" She asked with sympathy. "His name was Firestorm." Spitfire looked at her scars with a raised eyebrow. "How did you get those scars?" Blue gazed at the slash marks under her wing. She sighed folding her wing back in place. "The truth is, not everypony's father is as great as your's, Spitfire. My father was a very bad pony." She told her about her fillyhood; about what that stallion did to her and her mother. "And one day a manticore was attacking bat ponies outside of the cave that house the town. My father thought it was a good idea to send me out there to fight the beast. He said if I want to prove myself to him, I had to fight that thing on my own." Tears were starting to form in her eyes. "He said if I didn't, I had to fend for myself. Not wanting to leave my mother, I went out and started to fight the manticore. But it was much stronger than me and faster. It brought one paw up and clawed me. After that, the whole town besides my father came out and chase the creature away. I had lost a lot of blood that day and stayed in the hospital for days. The mayor kicked him out of town and my mother divorced him. He left, but not before telling me that he wishes that I did die." She stayed quiet for a moment, watching the Wonderbolts began their last lap. She suddenly felt forehooves wrapping around her and she turn her gaze to Spitfire who was giving her a warm hug. "I'm sorry that something like that happen to you." Blue thought she heard a crack in her voice. She return the embrace harder, burying her face into her neck. "Please don't cry for me. It's all in the past." She whispered. Spitfire quietly respond. "But you could've died. I would have lost you before i know how much you meant to me." She rubbed her check against Blue's own. "But I didn't, I wouldn't have saved you if I did or haven't even met you." She slowly raised her head and removed Spitfire's shades. She gazed into the amber eyes as she touched her black forehead against Spitfire's own. "Just don't worry about what happened in the past. My father got what he deserved. Everything worked out great in the end". They both sat for a few moments in each other's embrace, enjoying each other's company. Finally Blue look up, noticing the Wonderbolts already finished their exercises. "Spitfire, I think they're done." They broke apart from the embrace and Spitfire got up. Blue handed her, her sunglasses back. "Alright, enough with the mushy feelings. I've got work to do." She slipped the glasses back on. Blue got up as well. "I have to get back to town. I need to get some rest." Spitfire turned to Blue. "Alright, I'll see you around." She quickly give Blue a small peck on the check and head back to her teammates. Blue just shook it of with a smile and made her way towards town. She laid on her bed with a groan. She made it home, not before she headed straight towards Sugercube Corner for a bite to eat. What she did not expect, however, is the lights turned off. Then the light came on quickly with alot of ponies yelling "Surprise!", which scared the living bejesus out of her. Then the pink party pony gave her so much sweets, that she thought she was going to pop. That mare is going to give me diabetes one of these days! , She thought as she slowly drift to sleep. Blue was standing in the middle of Ponyville at midnight, when she spotted movement in the corner of her eyes. She look around and spotted a beautiful silver fox cub. The most beautiful fox she had ever seen. The little fox starts to run away. Blue followed it. "Hey, wait up!" She called for it. It led her into the Everfree Forest. She paused for a moment, knowing the dangers in that heinous place. But she knew she have to go after that fox, so she went in anyway. The young fox led her to a cave. She paused as she look into the cave. She slowly went inside. Instead of going inside she found herself in front of a large sparkly lake She looked around feeling confused. The fox was nowhere to be found. Instead it was Spitfire, sitting next to her. She was gazing at her with a loving smile. They were inside of a cave, with the moon shining through a hole in the roof. The moon was in a right position, making the water sparkle. She heard the name of the lake out of nowhere:Lunar Lake. She then found herself playing in the lake with Spitfire, splashing water at each other. They were both laughing, having such a great time. In a swift movement, Spitfire pinned Blue down with a look of adoration in her eyes. She leaned in and kissed her. Suddenly the scene switched and she found her father instead. Blue was wearing a dress and she looked around to find herself in Canterlot. He was looking down at her wickedly. He was wearing the most evil smile she had ever seen on him. She tried to get him off of her, but he's to heavy to budge. He raised his hoof very high ready to strike her in a killing blow. Suddenly he was thrown off of her. She look around and spotted Spitfire standing over him with a look of pure rage in her eyes. Her other friends ran over, all in their dresses too. They all surround her, facing her father. More hoofsteps appear and all of them look around and spotted Princess Celestia and her sister Princess Luna walking up towards them. As they past Blue, Luna looked back at her and gave her a knowing smile. Her horn flashed and Blue found herself sitting by a fireplace She looked around to find herself at a camping spot. Spitfire was beside her, wing wrapped protectively around her. She was chatting away with the rest of her teammates. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy was there as well. Blue gazed at Spitfire, who in return, nuzzled the top of her head. All of a sudden, three pairs of glowing green eyes appeared. Blue heard menacing growls from all three of them. The others looked up with horror growing on their faces. Blue then find herself racing towards a large gorge. She was bleeding from every wound on her pelt. She hears the loud roaring water in it. She flapped her wings and took off towards it. Spitfire was pinned to the ground by a giant wolf made of trees, one of it's wooden paw pinned against her chest. Blue dived on top of it, sinking her sharp fangs into it's wooden back. It reared back with a furious roar and fell into the gorge, not before biting into Blue's wing and taking her with it. "BLUE!" A horrified voice screamed. Blue fell into the roaring water. She found herself weakly swimming to the surface, mouthful of water. She hauled herself out of the river, cough out a gallon and collapsed onto the shore. She laid there breathing heavily. She heard a voice; "Trust in your destiny Blue Electric!" Blue woke up in bed gasping for air. She look at her clock to find it was past 9 a.m. She walked to her window and looked outside, wondering what the heck she just seen, last night in her dream. > Ch.8: The Silver Fox > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been two weeks since the accident at the Wonderbolts show and the strange dream. Blue spent days wondering what it could mean but she lost interest and shrugged it off as just a weird dream. She even blamed Pinkie's sweets for it. She was in the hospital waiting for her cast to be removed. Nurse Redheart walked in. "You ready to have your wing cast remove, Miss Electric?" Blue nodded her head with determination, her blue eyes narrowed. "I was born ready." The white earth pony bite at it and ripped it apart. Blue smiled as she moved her now healed up wing. She said her thanks to the nurse and head out the hospital. She walked out, moving her wing. She flapped her wings hovering a bit and landed back on the ground feeling satisfied. She took off, flying around town for a moment and landed on a large cloud. She sighed with relief as she laid down on the soft fluffy surface. Oh, how she misses sleeping on one! She shifted to her side, gazing down at the busy town below her. She was about to drift off to snooze, when she felt something brushing her ear. She flicked her ear, thinking nothing of it. But then she felt it again. She heard a whisper in her ear. "Guess who's behind you." Blue's eyes shot open. "Spitfire?" She turned around to see the fiery pegasus smiling at her. "I thought you were finishing up your tour." "Already done. I thought I come back and check on you." She lied down, brushing up against her. Blue glanced at her friend. "That's very considerate of you." She said, smiling at her as she flipped herself around. Spitfire leaned down and touched her ear with her nose. "I can be a very considerate pony when I want to." She glanced at Blue's now unbandaged wing. She grinned. "I see that your wing got better." Blue nodded. "Just got the cast taken off today." She yawned. Spitfire notice."Tired?" The black mare nodded. "It's been a long morning. I guess it's also my fault that I stayed awake until nine in the morning." She glanced back at her. "I was getting ready to nap, when you decided interrupt me." "Sorry about that." She apologized. "You know, coming to think of it, I guess I'll nap too." Spitfire positioned herself so she can lie on her side, while resting her head onto Blue's side. She glanced at her friend, who was already asleep. She smiled as stroke the spiky, but surprisingly soft mane. She curled up and rested her head against her shoulder. She soon fell asleep as well. Spitfire was woken up to a sound of whimpering. She blinked her eyes open and glance at the mare beside her. The sleeping bat pony had tears running down her face and was shivering like crazy. "Mother, don't leave me." Blue whimpered in her sleep. Instinctively, she wrapped her wing and foreleg around her comfortingly and nuzzled her cheek. She continued to rub her cheek and began to lick away her tears. "Don't worry Blue, I got you." She sooth, whispering in her ear. Blue finally stop shaking and slowly open her eyes. She looked up and spotted Spitfire looking back at her with a sympathetic smile. "You were dreaming about your mother, didn't you?" Blue nodded as more tears began to fall. "We were in a middle of a field hugging each other, when she walked away and disappeared in a cloud of smoke." She buried her face into Spitfire's shoulder and sobbed. "I miss her so much, Spitfire." The golden pegasus nuzzled her cheek and whispered. "I know you do." She raised her hoof and stroke her mane soothingly. She lifted her face with her hoof. She stared deep into the pretty electric blue eyes. "Because I felt that way about my father." "How did you make it go away." She cried. Spitfire licked her tears away soothingly. "I didn't. You just have to remember the good things your mother did and live with that." She pressed her forehead against hers. "And you got friends to help with that too." That seems to calm her down. She smiled and gave Spitfire a hug. Spitfire hugged back, running her hoof through her mane. They eventually broke away from the hug. They both stand up and notice the sun starting to set. Blue sat down and watched it with awe. "Wow," she breathed. "I never notice how beautiful sunsets look from up here." Spitfire turn to her crush with a smile. "Yeah, it's sure is." She agreed, watching her longingly. Blue stare back at her. "And it made you glow. You look so pretty in it." That line made Spitfire blush hard. "T..thanks!" She stutter, looking away. She was starting to sweat furiously. When she look back, Blue was starting to stand up. "I have to get back home." She look back at her. "Do you want anything to eat? I could fix us something at my place." Spitfire's stomach growled. She nodded. "Lead the way." They both took off and landed in front of the museum. Spitfire look at it curiously. "You live in a museum?" Blue nodded as they head up the stairs. "Sort of, I live in the basement. I work here." She open the door. She turn back to look at the pegasus. "I have to warn you. Miss Era turns the light off this time of the night and it gets pretty dark in here. Just follow me." She close the door back as Spitfire step inside. She look around. "You're right, it is dark in here." She turn and notice Blue's blue wings are glowing. "Since when did your wings glow in the dark?" She asked in shock. "I was born this way. My foal doctor said it's a recessive trait and only one in a hundred batponies have it" she explained as she led the way through the museum. "But it only works in really dark places." Spitfire watch her in wonder as she followed her. This mare was really something else. She brushed close to the glowing mare. "One in a hundred, huh? Do you know someone else with it?" Blue nodded. "The mayor of my hometown." Spitfire smiled. "I guess that makes you rare. And that's a good thing." Blue nodded as she paused in front of a door. "I guess it is," she said as she opened the door and turned on the light. She frowned as she added. "But my glowing wings also makes me a target if I want to hide from my father." She led the way down the short flight of stairs. "Sit down on one of the bean bags. I'll get dinner ready." Spitfire glanced around the basement/apartment. It was small but comfy. "You seem to like Daring Do a lot." Blue nodded as she took out ingredients for a salad. "She's my idol." She glanced back at Spitfire as she sat down on a bean bag. "Did you read any?" The Wonderbolt shook her head. "Not much of a reader. But I heard plenty from Rainbow Dash." Blue walked up and gave Spitfire her salad, as she went back for hers. She sniffed at the salad curiously. It look like a normal salad with strawberries added to it. She took a mouthful, surprised by the fresh sweet salad. She swallowed and glanced at Blue beside her. "This salad is good." Blue glanced back at her, smiling gratefully. "Thanks." They were standing outside of the museum. "Thanks for dinner." Spitfire said. "It's no problem. And thanks for stopping by." Blue smiled. Spitfire smiled back and embraced her. She smiled harder when she was hugged back. They let go of each other. "I'll probably see you tomorrow." She said. Blue smiled and kissed her on the cheek. "OK, see you then." She turned and walk back to the door. Spitfire watch her go frozen in place, her face burning furiously in the place where the kiss was. She slowly raised her hoof and touch her check. She smiled, eyeing the retreating black flank as it disappears into the building. She then turn, whistling a happy tune as she made her way to the hotel. Blue woke up at midnight and walked up to the window. She smiled as she opened it and hopped out. She closed it back and decide to began her usual midnight stroll. She lift her wings and take off. She flew for a few moments until she decided to land by Twilight's castle. She turn around spotting something in the corner of eye. Standing a couple of feet from her was a silver fox cub; like the one from her dream. It was standing there sniffing around at the ground. Blue blinked and shook her head thinking she was dreaming again. The cub was still there. Slowly as she could, she crept up to it noticing it was a female. She was a beautiful cub; silver, with black feet, black tipped ears and a fluffy white tipped tail. Blue also notice that she was almost as thin as a twig. The fox looked up and stared at her with blue eyes. With a yelp of fright, she ran off. "Wait! Come back! I'm not gonna hurt you!" She ran after her, not noticing the castle light went on. The castle's balcony door open and Twilight Sparkle walked out. She looked down, spotting Blue chasing something silver. With wide eyes, the Alicorn took off from the balcony and landed on the ground below. "Blue, where are you going?" She chased after the bat pony. Meanwhile, Blue rushed past Sugarcube Corner. The light went on and Pinkie popped her head out the window. She notice Twilight rushing by. "Ooh! A midnight chasing game!" She shouted in delight. Twilight was still on her trail when she notice Pinkie running beside her. "Pinkie, I need you to get Applejack and Rarity." She ordered. "Okie Dokie, Loki!" She shouted as she heads towards Sweet Apple Acres. The purple alicorn then look on in horror, as Blue went into the Everfree Forest. She paused at the entrance near Fluttershy's cottage to catch her breath. "Twilight, care to tell us why your up in a middle of midnight?" She look around and spotted Rainbow Dash followed by Fluttershy. She pointed to the forest. "I heard shouting, so I look out and spotted Blue chasing something. Then she went into the Everfree Forest." The two pegasi look into the forest with shock expressions. They heard footsteps and turned around. They spotted the other three heading straight towards them. Applejack had an annoyed look in her eyes. "Care to explain why I have to wake up this time of night?" Rainbow Dash explained to the rest. They slowly walked up towards the entrance, hesatatied for a few minutes. "Isn't it too late at night to go exploring that place?" A voice behind them made them jump. They turn around and spotted Spitfire landed behind them. She raised an eyebrow. "And it's far too dangerous." Rainbow Dash walked up to her. "We're not trying to explore it. Twilight told us that Blue went in there a few minutes ago. And She thinks she was chasing something." Panic lit up in her orange eyes. She pushed past them and rushed right into the forest. The others look on with shock. "What in tarnation was that all about?" Applejack asked in disbelief. Rarity spoke up. "I believe Spitfire may have feelings for Blue, dear." They all turn to the white mare. "What, isn't that not hard to believe? I think it started when Blue saved her life. And this evening I spotted them on a cloud, taking a nap with each other." Spitfire was halfway through the forest looking for a sign where her dear friend had went. She looked around and spotted something on some brambles. As she walk towards it she spotted tufts of black fur sticking from the thorns. She gasped and started to head towards that direction. She ducked under the brush and notice tiny paw prints in the dirt. She also spotted hooftracks and knows she's going in the right direction. She spotted more brambles up ahead and spotted more tufts of black fur. She also spotted tufts of Blue's mane. She also spotted blood. Starting to worry, she shouted. "Blue! Blue where are you?!" She flapped her wings and took off, flying through the trees. Up ahead she spotted something glowing. It was Blue, and Rainbow was right; she was chasing something and was heading toward a cave. She landed on the ground and chased after her. Blue slipped into the cave. Spitfire didn't hesitate as she followed behind. The entrance of the cave led underground. It went dark for a few moments until she spotted light up ahead. The cavern was huge, covered in large white crystals. The walls were covered in drawings. Spitfire payed no mind to that as she spotted her friend staring at some of them. She tackle her in a crushing hug. "Spitfire?" The fiery mare hold her tight and buried her face into her mane. "Don't ever do that again." She her heart was pounding in her chest and she was sure Blue felt it. "I thought something bad happened to you." She look back at her and notice a scratch on her check. It was fresh and still bleeding. "And your bleeding!" She added in shock. She touched it with her hoof, which made Blue wince. "I'm fine. I'm sorry that I worried you." She stared at something behind her. "I was following her." Spitfire followed her gaze and notice a fox cub. She was huddled against the wall and stared up at the two ponies in fear. They turn around and notice the rest of Blue's friends entering, with Twilight in the lead. They looked around the cave in awe. Rarity walked up to one of the crystals. "Absolutely, marvelous!" She gasped, her tiredness suddenly forgotten. "Oh, glowy!" Pinkie exclaimed as she hopped up to a bigger crystal. She giggled when it made it look like her face gotten bigger. Twilight walked up to Blue, still looking at the pictures. "How did you found this place?" She asked in awe. Blue and Spitfire stepped aside to reveal the fox. "She did." Fluttershy gasped. "A silver fox!" She walked up and pick up the shivering cub. "And the poor thing is skin and bones." Applejack smiled at it. "Now I know what happened to my chicken eggs." Blue looked around. "But I can't find her mother anywhere." She walked up and nuzzled the fox. "I'll take care of her." The fox cub stop shivering and look up at her with hope. She hopped from Fluttershy's grasp and rubbed against Blue's legs. The other ponies awed. "What are you going to name her?" Fluttershy asked. Blue already picked out the perfect name. She glanced down at the fox cub who stared up at her. "Her name is Wisp." > Ch.9: Fireflies > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blue was at home boiling an egg for Wisp. She look back at the silver fox cub, who was eyeing the pot hungrily. "Don't worry girl. It'll be done in a minute." She bend down and nuzzled the creature. She picked her up and put her on her back. Wisp laid down, wrapping her bushy tail around her legs. She got out a small plate and put the egg on it. She went to the fridge and pulled out a carton of milk. She washed the pot and pour some in it. She then put it on the stove to warm it up. Then she got out a bowl and poured it in. She set them both on the floor. Wisp hopped off her back and gobbled down the egg. Blue giggled. "You must been starving." She grabbed a bowl and some cornflakes. She grabbed some blueberries from the fridge. She poured the cereal in the bowl and topped it with some blueberries. She hovered as she ate her early breakfast while she watched Wisp. "Were's your mother, little one?" She sadly asked. She yawned as she sat her bowl in the sink. "I don't know about you Wisp, but I'm tired. All that running last night exhaust me." She landed on the floor and picked up the empty dishes. She walked towards her bed and laid down on it. She made room for Wisp who curled up against her belly. She sighed as she fell asleep. She woke up with a jolt, sweating and tears in her eyes. Wisp sat up looking at her with concern. "Oh Wisp, everytime I close my eyes he was there." She hopped out of bed gazing at the now night sky. How long did she slept in? She open her window as she starts to sing. You could never know what it's like; your blood like winter freezes just like ice And there's a cold lonely light that shines from you. You'll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use Blue look back at her bed. She turn her gaze down at Wisp, who was rubbing against her. And did you think this fool would ever win? Well look at me, I'm back again! She picked up Wisp cradling her. She suddenly see visions of all of her friends, even Spitfire. She started to smile. I got a taste of love in a simple way. And if you need to know while I'm still standing, you will fade away. She burst out the window as she put Wisp on her back. She took to the air flying very fast. Don't You know I'm still standing better than I ever did? Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid! She landed on the ground trotting joyfully as she sang. I'm still standing after all this time Picking up the pieces of my life, without you on my mind! She past by the hotel as one of the lights turned on. But she didn't notice. I'm still standing! Yeah yeah yeah I'm still standing! Yeah yeah yeah She scowled as she stared down the blurry vision of her father, who was smirking at her. Once I never could I hope to win You starting down the road, beating me up again. The threats you made were meant to cut me down If your love was just a circus you'd be a clown by now Blue swiped the image of her father away, as it vanish into the night. She continued to walk with her head held high with determination. Don't you know that I'm still standing better than I ever did? Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid! I'm still standing after all this time Picking up the pieces of my life, without you on my mind! I'm still standing! Yeah yeah yeah I'm still standing! Yeah yeah yeah She put Wisp on the ground as she took off towards the sky, twirling around as she sung louder. Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did? Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid! I'm still standing after all this time Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind! She dropped to the ground, not noticing that Wisp walked off. I'm still standing! Yeah yeah yeah I'm still standing! Yeah yeah yeah She turn around noticing Wisp missing. She spotted her walking towards a large meadow. Blue pricked her ears, curiously. "Wisp! Where are you going." She started to follow her when she heard a voice above her. "Nice song." She look up and spotted Spitfire above her smiling at her. She blushed in embarrassment. "You heard that?" The fiery mare landed beside her. "Actually it woke me up." She gave her reassuring smile. "It's not bad at all. You have a nice singing voice." Blue smiled back at her. "Thanks." Blue gazed back to where Wisp was going. She continued to go in that direction with Spitfire following behind her. "Where is that fox going?" As they came across the meadow, Wisp was there waiting for them. Blue sighed with relief. "There you are." She look around the meadow. It was filled with long stalks of grass. "What is this place?" She exchange glances with Spitfire who shrugged. The fox cub stand up and started to pounced in the grass. A bunch of glow in the dark bugs flew away. The little lights were flicking off and on. Blue look at them with wonder. "What are they?" She breathed in awe. "They're called fireflies." Spitfire exclaimed, looking at the insects in admiration. She gave Blue a questionable look. "Have you never seen them before? Not as a filly?" Blue shook her head sadly. "Never have been out of the cave." She brush her tail against another clump of grass as more appeared. She smiled at the glowing insects. Feeling a burst of excitement she dove into the grass. She laughed in delight as even more appeared. Spitfire smiled at the laughing mare. She loves the way the bat pony's eyes light up when she gazed up at the bugs. And she was falling in love with her. When she find out last night that Blue was in that awful forest, she felt her heart stop. She wanted to protect her from any harm. Spitfire felt a burst of anger for that mare's father. If she find him, he'll be sorry that he ever touched the love of her life. The train of thought paused as she felt herself knocked over. When she looked up, her anger was forgotten. Blue was standing over her with a look of triumph in her eyes. Blue smirked. "You weren't paying attention, so I thought I surprised you." She leaned down touching Spitfire's nose with hers. Spitfire froze as she felt her hot, sweet breath on her face. She smirked back. "That's what you think." Blue yelped in surprised as she was flipped over by Spitfire. Now, Spitfire was on top. "I was prepared. You're as light as a feather." She teased sticking out her tongue at her with a wink. She leaned in and kissed her. Blue's eyes went wide with shock. She closed her eyes and kissed back wrapping her forelegs around her neck. She hummed with delight. Spitfire shivered with excitement as she felt her kissed back. Her lips was the sweetest thing she had ever touched. Their kiss lingered for a bit. They pulled away for a moment staring into each other's eyes. Spitfire pressed her forehead against Blue's gently. "I love you." She whispered. Blue caressed her cheek with her hoof. "I love you too." She whispered back with a loving smile. She leaned up and kissed her again. Spitfire rolled to the side with Blue, enjoying the sweet kiss. Their kiss slow into a rhythm, brushing against each other. They pulled after a minute, catching their breath. Spitfire leaned in and nuzzled her cheek. She wrapped her forelegs around her to cradle her. "So," she whispered in her ear. "What's with the singing?" Blue looked away for a moment, biting her lip. "I had a nightmare about my father and I just got caught up in the moment." Spitfire glanced at her lover with concern. "Do your nightmares happens often?" Blue nodded burying her nose into her shoulder. "More than often. I just can't make it go away. Sometimes I get trapped in them for hours. This morning, I was trapped until at night." Spitfire suddenly got an idea. She gently caress her face. "How about I stayed over tonight? I'll wake you up if something goes wrong." Blue's eyes went wide. "I can't let you do that for me. These dreams can be pretty bad and I don't want you to get worried." Spitfire took her hoof with her own as she pressed her cheek against hers. "You already worried me, dear. And I want too." Blue smiled as she kissed her quickly. "You really are a considerate pony." They both giggled as Spitfire wrapped her wings around her protectively. "I really meant it when I said I loved you, Blue. You're the pony I want to spend my life with." Blue's eyes lit up with panic remembering something. She shook it off. "I meant it too." She smiled and kissed her again. Their kiss last longer than the rest. The moment ruined when Wisp popped in between them sniffing their lips. They both exchange glances and burst out laughing. They then spend most of the night cuddling with each other. > Ch.10:Letters From Fillyhood Friends > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Both mares and one fox cub laid in the grassy meadow not noticing as the sun slowly rises in the horizon. The fireflies had went away for the day and they still cuddled up to one another, as they suddenly fell asleep the night before. Blue slowly opened her eyes as she look around her surroundings. She stared down at the sleeping golden mare holding her closely. She smiled as she remembered last night. She turn around to look at the small silver fuzzy fox curled up against her back, her fuzzy tail covering her snout. She bend down and nuzzled the sleeping Spitfire. "Spitfire, it's time to get up." She whispered in her ear. The golden pegasus stirred, holding her tightly. "I don't wanna go to school mom." She groan in her sleep. "Just wake me up when I'm dead." Blue giggled as she played along. "I wouldn't do that or you won't even be here with me. Get up or you'll be late." She leaned in and kissed her cheek. She watched as Spitfire slowly opened her eyes. The fiery mare lift her head to gaze at her surroundings until it landed on the mare in her grasp. Blue was giving her an amused look. " 'Bout time you wake up." She teased. Spitfire smiled and briefly kissed her on the lips. "Well it's a good thing I have you to wake me up, love." She smiled warmly at her and buried her muzzle into her black fur, breathing in her sweet scent. They both got up and stretch. Blue bend down and nose Wisp awake. She put the fox cub onto her back as they both flew back towards the town. Spitfire glanced at the bat pony flying beside her and held out her forehoof for her marefriend. Blue smiled and took it, burying her face into her shoulder as they made their way towards the town. They landed in the middle of town and slowly made their way towards the museum. They faced each other as they paused near the steps. "I have to check on my teammates at the headquarters. But I'll come back in a few hours and help you with your nightmares." Blue nodded. "I understand." She leaned forward and kissed her. Spitfire kissed back and wrapped a hoof around her. They broke away from the kiss and look into each others' eyes. "I love you." Blue whispered. Spitfire pressed her forehead against hers as she gazed into her eyes with a loving smile. "I love you too." She gave her one last kiss and took off. Blue watch her leave with a smile on her face. She jumped when she heard the nearby bushes shake. Trixie and Starlight step out, each wearing a smirk on their faces. Blue's black face turn to red as she gazed at the two unicorns. "Were you two spying on us?" Starlight nodded as her purple eyes glint with mischief. "We saw you came back to town with the captain of the Wonderbolts, so we followed you two." She admitted. Trixie smiled at her. "So Miss Electric, what have you two been up to last night?" She teased. Blue sighed with defeat. She took Wisp off her back and set her on the ground and sat down. She smiled as she told her friends about last night. "It was the most magical thing I had ever experienced." She finished wistfully. "We eventuality feel asleep with out realizing it." Starlight smiled at her. "I'm so happy for you." Trixie nodded her head agreement. "Trixie is too. She thinks you are so lucky." They walked away, while Starlight look back and gave her a wink. Blue walked over to her open window, grabbed Wisp, and went in. She closed it and set her on the ground. She got out two pots and poured some water in it. She put an egg in one for Wisp and some oats in the other for her. She opened the fridge and got out two apples. She peeled them, removed the cores, and minced them up. She winced as the knife accidentally cut her leg. She rushed to the bathroom and turned on the warm water. She sighed with relief as the water numb the pain and washed the blood down the drain. She opened her first aid kit and got out some antiseptic wipes and a band-aid. She patched up her cut and head back to finished up their breakfast. She was on her bed, eating her cinnamon apple oatmeal while reading a Daring Do book when she heard her door knock. She closed her book and sat her now empty bowl in the kitchen sink. She went over to open her door. She was surprised to find Spitfire already back. Blue smiled and gestured her in. "You're back." The golden pegasus smiled and leaned in to give her a kiss. "Told you so." She reached for something she was carrying in her wing and pulled out two envelopes. "Also the pink unicorn in charge here wants me to give you these." Blue take them with curiosity. One of them was from Las Pegasus and the other is from Manehatten. She gasped in shock and went over to her bed and open both of them. Both of them were letters. Intrigued, Spitfire walked over and sat down on the other side of the bed. She leaned over Blue's shoulder. "Who send you these letters?" She asked. "When I was a filly after my father left, I made two friends at school." She began. "One is named Ace. She gained her cutie mark when she beat me at a card game called Spades. What's interesting about her is that she's not attracted to mares or stallions. She told me that she's only interested in hanging out with friends and playing with cards. After she graduated she moved out of town and went to Las Pegasus. My other friend's name is Brownie Batter. She always gives me the best batch of brownies I had ever tasted. She moved out as well. She told me she's going to run a cookie store in Manehatten." She sighed as she stared at the two letters. "I haven't seen my girls in years. We were all the only foal in each of our families and seen each other as sisters. I wonder why they decided to write to me now?" Spitfire smiled and briefly nuzzled her. "There's only way to find out. Read what they had to say." Blue nodded and read the one from Las Pegasus first. Blue!, There's so much you had missed since I left for Las Pegasus. This place is so lit AF! I even got a job at the casino! I work as a Spades dealer and I freaking love my job! Anyways, enough about me. I heard you moved to Ponyville and that your mother died. I'm so sorry about that, Blue. I know you two had been very close ever since that monster of a father left for good. So, I'm inviting you over to visit me here this weekend. You can even bring a new friend or two. I am friends with the manager over here at the hotel and she got a luxury room waiting for you, all paid for by your's truly! I can't wait to see you again. Your friend and sister always, Ace! Spitfire smiled. "She seems to be a lively one." Blue nodded as she read the next one. This letter had a scent of brownies to it. Dear, Blue. How have you've been doing. I got word from your mother's passing and I am so sorry. I want you to know that I run a very successful shop in Manehatten now. I even got married and had a little filly. She wants to meet you. So I'm inviting you over. You can even bring someone with you if you like. The shop's name is called Brownie and Macadamia's Cookie Store and It's near town square. There you will find a small tan and white building. It's so good to be meeting you again. Your sister and best friend, Brownie Batter. Blue eyes went wide with panic. She got up and started to pace around the room. Spitfire watched her marefriend with concern. "What's the problem, Blue?" "Each of my fillyhood friends invited me over! I haven't seen each of them in years!" "Blue?" "They both said I can bring some friends. But I don't know who to take with me! One of them even got a filly and I have no idea what she's like. What if she doesn't like me?!" "Blue. Calm down..." "And what about Wisp? Who would take care of her when I'm gone?" "Blue, wait.." "I never even been to a large city before! I'm afraid I might get lost!" She paused and chewed on her hoof nervously. Spitfire got off of the bed and grabbed her panicking marefriend. "Don't worry about any of that. I will definitely go with you. And don't worry about Wisp, one of your other friends here will take care of her, especially Rainbow Dash's marefriend. What is her name, Shutterfly?" "Fluttershy." She sighed. "And hey your right, there's nothing to worry about. You can come with me." Blue smiled and hugged her. "I'll rally up the others tomorrow and ask if one of them want to come with us this weekend. We'll go to see Ace first." Spitfire smiled back and kissed her. "That's the spirit." She beckoned her back towards the bed. "Why don't you rest. I supposed to help you and wake you up if something goes wrong." Blue nodded and curled up on the bed. Spitfire laid down beside her and noticed the bandage on her leg. She lifted it and asked. "What happened here?" Blue took her leg back and rubbed it. "I cut it on an accident while making breakfast. Don't worry, I cleaned it up and everything." The pegasus lifted it back up and kissed it. "You poor thing." She rolled onto her back as Blue laid her head on her chest. Spitfire wrapped her hooves around her and kissed her forehead. "Go to sleep. I'll stay awake until something happens." Blue gazed into her eyes fearfully. Spitfire run her hoof through her mane comfortingly. "Don't worry. I not going anywhere and you need me right now." She soothed. She nuzzled her head. Blue nodded and slowly drifted to sleep. Wisp hopped up and went to sleep at the foot of the bed. Spitfire smiled at her sleeping lover and kissed her cheek. > Ch.11: Ace Of Spades Pt 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blue, Spitfire, and Twilight were in the hot air balloon getting ready for Los Pegasus. Spitfire gazed at her marefriend with concern. Blue was right about her dreams getting bad. (Flashback) Spitfire was holding Blue and was about to doze off, when she heard whimpering. Her eyes shot open and she glance down at her sleeping marefriend. Tears were streaming down her face and the poor bat pony was shivering madly. Blue stopped shivering and suddenly stopped breathing. With orange eyes widened with fear, Spitfire shook her lover awake. The black mare gasped for breaths and opened her eyes. Spitfire stroke her mane and nuzzled her. "That's right, my love. Breath." She soothed. Blue's eyes watered and she buried her face into her chest as she sobbed. Blue told her of her dream and said she was so afraid that her father is going to find her. Spitfire lifted her head with a hoof and gently kissed her muzzle. "He's not going to find you. I won't let that happen." She said, gazing into her eyes. She then got up to make Blue some tea. (End of flashback) Spitfire scooted closer to her and wrapped her wing around her. Blue glanced at her with a loving smile and leaned against her as she gazed out towards the horizon. "You two are so cute together." Exclaimed Twilight. The couple blush as they gazed at the Princess of Friendship. Blue had gathered her friends at Sugarcube Corner and told them of her Fillyhood Friends. Twilight agreed to go with them to Las Pegasus, while the others are going with them to Manehatten. Fluttershy was taking care of Wisp while they were heading to Las Pegasus "Uh, thanks." Said a flustered Blue as they spotted the cloud city in the distance. As they approach the city, Blue can see a lot of ponies rushing about. They landed the balloon at the landing dock with the help of the traffic pony. They hopped out and looked around. Blue scanned the crowd and gasped in delight. Twilight and Spitfire watched as the black pony rushed over to another bat pony. The bat pony is a pale gray almost white mare with purple bat wings and eyes. Her mane style is what Twilight called a Babs Seed sort of style but longer. Her mane is the same color as the asexual flag; black, gray, white, and purple. It's like she was wearing the flag on her head. Her cutie mark is that of an ace of spades. And she was wearing two silver earrings in one of her ears. Blue gave the mare a bone crushing hug. Spitfire and Twilight walked up to greet her. "Ace! It's so good to see you again!" Blue squealed. "It's good to see you too Blue." Ace groan as she pat her on the back. "Also, you're crushing me." She added as Twilight and Spitfire watched on in amusement. "Oops! Sorry." She let go and grinned with a *squee* sound. Blue turned around to introduce her to her other friends. "This is Ace, my fillyhood friend and sister." She said as Ace gazed at them with astonishment. "Blue are you telling me that your friends with both the Princess of Friendship and the Captain of the Wonderbolts?!" She exclaimed as she rushed up to them. "Hi! I'm a huge fan of you both!" She held out her forehoof for a hoofbump. They both smiled and hoofbump her. "That's not all." Blue said as she walked over to Spitfire and kissed her. The golden pegasus blushed and wrapped her wing around her. Ace gazed at them with disbelief. "This is a joke right?" Blue smiled and shook her head, her eyes glittering with amusement. The pale gray bat pony's jaw dropped. "Your not joking! Blue you are so lucky! If I'm not asexual, I'd be jealous." She sighed as she gazed away wistfully. "But my true love is Spades and cake. Defiantly cake." She licked her lips. "Follow me. I'll show you your rooms at the hotel." She led them across the golden bridges and towards the side. Blue looked around as she followed her friend. The city was covered in clouds and large buildings. On one side she spotted a rainbow roller coaster and a large Ferris wheel. She flicked her ear as she heard screams of the ponies from the ride. The clouds have golden bridges and hard grey paths for the non pegasus ponies to walk on. Above the city were signs on top of clouds. How the signs don't fall through the clouds beats Blue. Ace led them in a large hotel. As Blue stepped in, she was surprised how busy the place is. Ponies of all different kinds rushed about trying to get a room or two. She even spotted griffons. Ace led them towards a counter were a white unicorn mare with a bright yellow mane and eyes helping out a family of five. She has a pair of keys for a cutie mark. She looked up as she gave the family a pair of keys. "Enjoy your stay!" She called as the family walked away. Ace walked up to her. "What's up Keystone?" The unicorn smiled at her. "Busy as usual, Ace." She looked behind the gray pony and lock eyes on Blue. "Is that your friend you been telling me about?" She walk around the counter to greet her. She held out a hoof. "You must be Miss Blue Electric. I'm Keystone, the manager and Ace's friend." Blue smiled and shook her hoof. "It's so nice to meet you. Any friend of Ace's is a friend of mine." Blue introduce her friends. "This is Princess Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and my marefriend Spitfire who is the Wonderbolts' Captain." Just like Ace, the white unicorn gazed at the two famous ponies with shock. "No way! That is amazing!" She rushed over to Twilight. "You're free to have any hotel room, your Majesty. Free of charge." Twilight shook her head. "I don't want to abuse my power. Being the Princess of Friendship doesn't mean I have free will of everything." "I know. But I want to." Insisted Keystone. Twilight was about to protest more when Keystone was giving her puppy dog eyes. She sighed. "Fine." Keystone bounced in one place happily. "Great!" She went behind her desk and levitated three keys. "The luxury rooms are on the fifth floor. Blue your room is Room 508." She gave her the key. "Thanks, but there's no need for an extra room. Spitfire is staying with me." Spitfire smiled at her marefriend gratefully. "Oh! Silly me." She put the extra key back. She gave the second key to Twilight. "And your Majesty, your room is right beside them. Enjoy your stay!" Twilight thank her, taking the key. "And I'll show you the rooms." Ace added as she led them towards the elevator. She pushed a button as the doors slide close. "Just wait until you see your room, Blue! Room 508 is the best room in this hotel." She said as the elevator moved upwards. "You don't have to do this, Ace." Blue told her adopted sister as she put her hoof on her shoulder. Ace gazed at Blue with understanding in her purple gaze. "I know, but I want to spend time with my favorite sister again. Don't tell Brownie I said that, though." She said with a smile. "With everything you been through, you deserve a vacation." She lightly hit her on the shoulder with a smirk. Blue giggled and hit her back. Spitfire watched their interactions with a smile. Oh, how it warms her heart to see her marefriend this happy. The golden pegasus could see the bond that made the two bat ponies sisters in the first place. Soon as the elevator stopped on the fifth floor, Spitfire and Blue stayed behind for awhile as Ace and Twilight moved on down the hallway. Spitfire gazed deeply into Blue's eyes and leaned forward to kiss her. Blue giggled and kissed her back. Spitfire break away from their kiss and pressed her forehead against hers to stare into her eyes. "You don't know how much it warms my heart to see you this happy, Blue." Spitfire said with a loving smile. "Thanks for coming with me, Spitty. I couldn't have done this without you." Blue said. Spitfire giggled at the nickname. She was about to kiss her again when she heard Ace cough up ahead. "If you two love birds quite done." They both look ahead and notice Ace and Twilight paused to look back at them with amusement. The couple exchange a glance and trotted up to catched up with them. "Sorry, Ace. We were caught up in a moment." Blue apologize sheepishly. "What moment? You haven't seen your room yet." She paused at pair of double doors. The sign said Room 508. Ace motioned her sister to hand her the key. Blue did as she was told. Ace unlocked the doors and pushed open both of them. "Welcome to Room 508." Spitfire and Blue both opened their mouths in shock. The room was huge! In the middle was a princess sized bed covered in silky soft blankets. On one side was a sofa covered in red and gold velvet. The two chairs beside them is covered in the same stuff. On both sides of the bed were large cylinder lava lamps that changes colors. The large windows shows an amazing view of the city and opens up towards a balcony. Ace stare at her friend in amusement. "If you thought this is amazing, wait until you see the bathroom!" She squeaked in excitement as she ran to another set of doors. Inside the bathroom was a large Jacuzzi and a large walk in shower. She turn the shower on. "Feel that? Only warm water. Not too hot and not too cold." Blue stick her hoof out to feel it. "Hey, you're right." She gazed at her friend questionably. "How did you afford all this?" "I'm so good at Spades. Upper class ponies pay good bits trying to beat me." Ace explained with a shrug. "I made so much money, that sometimes I feel bad and let them win sometimes. So I was able to buy you this room." Blue was impressed. She knew Ace was good at Spades, but she didn't know she was this good! She shared a glance with Spitfire and noticed her marefriend thought the same. "Also," the pale gray bat pony added. "You'll have room service anytime of the day." She walked up towards a button on the wall. "Just press this button and somepony will come with food. And trust me, they have the best food here." She paused in thought. "There's also this buffet but that food doesn't compare to the one made here at the hotel. Keystone's mother is a great cook." She walked up towards Blue and gave her the key. "Enjoy your room. I have to show Twilight her room and go home to rest. I got a busy night at the casino." Ace gave her a hug. "I hope you stop by tonight. We'll play Spades like old times." Blue hugged her back. "Oh, I will. We could also show Twilight and Spitfire the ropes. It will be a two against two!" She challenged. Ace smirked as she head out the room. She look back at her. "Oh, It's on!" She stuck her tongue at her as she closed the door on them as the couple laughed. Blue hopped on the bed and was surprised how soft it is. She smiled at Spitfire as she rolled on her back. She gestured her on the bed. The golden mare smiled back and hopped on the bed beside her. Spitfire scooted over and laid gently on top of her. Spitfire nuzzled her nose. "You wanna try the roller coaster tomorrow? I've been on it before as of the other Wonderbolts." Blue smiled and kissed her. "Of course I will. Anything with you." Spitfire grinned and kissed her nose. "In that case. Wanna try the Jacuzzi with me?" Blue nodded and dash towards the bathroom. Spitfire grinned even wider and chased after her lover. > Ch.12: Ace Of Spades Pt 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spitfire and Blue were in the bathroom, getting the Jacuzzi ready. When the Jacuzzi is filled with warm water and bubbles, the couple slide right in. They both relaxed, leaning against one another, with Spitfire had one foreleg wrapped around her lover. They both giggled, nuzzling each other, lovingly. Blue sighed. "Ace really did spoil us, don't you think, Spitty?" Spitfire nodded, kissing her cheek. "You got that right, babe." Blue smiled at her marefriend. "Thanks for coming with me. I wouldn't have gone without you." She said gratefully. Spitfire smiled back and lifted Blue's head to gaze into her stunning eyes. "No problem, my love. I would have gone anywhere with you." She leaned forward and gave her a kiss. Spitfire shivered with excitement as she felt her kissed back. She decided to go further. Spitfire licked at her lover's lips, as to ask for entrance into her sweet cavern. Blue compiled and opened her mouth as Spitfire slipped her tongue in. The golden pegasus shuttered as she explored the sweet cavern with fervor, enjoying the taste. She felt Blue's tongue prodded back and into her own mouth. Spitfire shuddered with pleasure as she felt her tongue in her mouth. Both tongues met in a passionate dance. Spitfire shivered as she heard Blue moan. Eventually, they broke apart their kiss, their lips connected by a strand of saliva. They both smiled at each other and nuzzled each other. Spitfire smirked and splash water over her lover. Blue giggled and splash back. Spitfire pressed her forehead against hers and gave her lover a loving smile. "I love you." she whispered as she caressed her cheek with her hoof. Blue smiled back and kissed her nose. "I love you too." She whispered back. Blue wrapped her forlegs around her and buried her face into her chest. Spitfire smiled even wider and buried her muzzle into her soft mane. After a few minutes, they hopped out and dry off. Blue hopped on the bed and laid down on her back. Spitfire hovered over her and gently laid down on top of her. Spitfire buried her face into Blue's chest and quickly fell asleep. The black bat pony smiled and stroke her mane. She soon went to sleep as well. Spitfire was flying in the sky. She look beside her and noticed her Blue flying beside her. Blue glanced at her and smiled sweetly at her. Suddenly a storm appeared with large lightning flashing across the sky. Spitfire can only watched in horror as a lightning bolt struck Blue. Her love look at her and fell. The golden pegasus shook away the terror and flew after her. Blue was lying on the ground, bleeding from every wound on her body. Spitfire rushed over to her side and picked her lover up to cradle her. Blue look up at her with sadness in her eyes. The black mare started to cough up blood. "Spitfire? I'm sorry." She closed her eyes and went limp. Tears started to well up in the Captain's eyes. "Blue?! Blue!" She screamed trying to shake her lover awake. She gently push open one of her eyes and notice it glazed over and looking at nothing. She lowered her lifeless body on the ground and screamed into the stormy sky with anguish. Spitfire's eyes shot open and she started to breath heavily. She glanced down at her beloved marefriend and sighed with relief to find her breathing. That dream had felt so real. She shakily laid her head down onto Blue's chest. It calmed her down to hear her beloved's heartbeats. She lifted her head up to stare at Blue's face. She smiled and pressed her nose against her cheek She slowly got up and walk towards the balcony. She leaned forward and watched the scenery below. Spitfire turn around when she heard footsteps behind her. "Spitfire? What are you doing?" Asked Blue as she yawned. The bat pony walk up beside her and leaned against her. "I had...Uh...a nightmare." Spitfire explained as she wrapped her wing around her lover. Blue gazed at her with sympathy and kissed her cheek. "You poor dear. Usually it's me with the nightmares. What's it about?" Spitfire gazed into her lover's eyes and tears started to fall. The tough Wonderbolt was not the one for crying, but her dream had felt so real. She embraced Blue and buried her nose into her shoulder. "I was dreaming that we were flying together and all a sudden a storm appeared and struck you down. I watched you die in my arms." Spitfire whimpered. Blue grabbed a hold of her and cradled her and sat down. She stroke her mane. "It's okay, Spitty. You can let it all out." Blue whispered in her ear. Spitfire buried her face into her chest and for the first time in forever, cried. Spitfire lifted her head and pressed her forehead against Blue's. "Promise me that you'll never leave me like that. I love you so much." She whimpered. Blue smiled and caressed her cheek. "I promise. I would never leave you. It was just a dream." Blue leaned in and kissed her sweetly. Spitfire smiled and kissed back. They stayed like that until it was dark out. Blue pulled away and grinned. "Come on. It's time to play Spades." They arrived at the casino and went inside. They look around at all the ponies gambling and drinking. They spotted Ace at a table sorting cards. Twilight was sitting beside her. The pale gray bat pony look up and beckoned them over. Blue smiled at her sister and sat across the table from her. Spitfire sat down beside of her. Blue glanced at the table near them and noticing a bad tempered earth stallion betting on some blackjack. Blue's eyes widened and start to pay attention to their game instead. They played the card game for a few minutes. Twilight seemed to have the hang of it. Spitfire did amazing. Blue had found out that Spitfire sometimes play cards with her teammates. Suddenly the stallion started to yell. "This has to be a scam! I definitely won fair and square!" The poor blackjack dealer tried to calmed him down. "Calm down, sir. It's just a game." At Blue's table, the bat pony was starting to hyperventilate in fear. Spitfire gazed at her marefriend with a worried expression. "Blue? What's wrong?" Asked Twilight. Blue started to stand up, but she collapsed on the ground. The last thing she saw was Spitfire crouching down with a look of worry before everything turns black. Spitfire picked the unconscious mare, saddled style and hovered over Ace. "What happened?" Ace gazed at her sister with a worried expression. "She usually has these panic attacks when somepony yells angrily." She explained. "Take her back to the hotel room and put a warm rag on her forehead." Spitfire nodded and flew off towards the hotel. She went in their room and gently laid her down on the bed. She pressed the room service button and ask for two cups of warm tea. She then went and wet a washrag with warm water. She gently pressed the washcloth on her marefriend's head. The room service pony came in when Blue start to come to. Blue opened her eyes. "Spitfire? What happened?" She asked sitting up. Spitfire gave her a cup a tea and sat beside her with her own cup. "Some stallion started to yell and you passed out." She gently explained. Blue's eyes widened in horror. "It happened again didn't it? I'm sorry, Spitty. I shouldn't have been weak." Spitfire sat her cup on the foot of the bed and scoot over to wrapped her forleg around her. Spitfire pressed her cheek against hers, comfortingly. "You're not weak, love. It's something you can't control." She soothed. Blue started to whimper. "But I ruined our game. I wanted us to have a good time, but I ruined it." Spitfire caressed her cheek with her own. "You didn't ruined it, my love. We had already beating them in the first round." She gently lifted her head with her hoof to face her. Spitfire smiled and gave her a quick kiss. "Let's go back and finish. I'm sure that stallion is gone now." Blue smiled back and kissed her cheek. "Let's go." They went back and the stallion was no longer there. They finished the game and Spitfire and Blue had won. They then head towards the buffet. > Ch.13 One Punny Date Night > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the small town of Ponyville, leaves are starting to change colors, to start off the fall season. The CMC's walk through town chatting about the events for this season. "I can't wait for Nightmare Night this year! I'm going to be dressing up as a fairy princess!" Exclaimed Sweetie Belle. Scootoloo nodded in agreement. "I can't wait for The Running Of The Leaves! I bet Rainbow Dash going to win this year!" She said in excitement. Apple Bloom shook her head at the orange filly. "Ya'know it's not about winning, right?" She questioned as they past by the resident bat pony. "Howdy, Miss Blue" Apple Bloom greeted as the three fillies walk past her. "Greetings girls." She greeted back as she head for the market. It's been three weeks since her trip to Las Pegasus and she smiled at the memories. She rode the coaster with Spitfire and she had enjoyed it. Twilight rode with them and giggled when she remembered how the alicorn had gotten sick after the ride. She got her list out of her saddle bag. "Okay, first I need a carton of eggs." she murmured to herself as she went up to the egg stall. She paid for a carton and gently put it in her saddle bags. As she scribbled out the first of her list she felt soft hooves around her. "Hey, Hon." "Spitfire." She smiled as she look behind her. Spitfire smiled back and kissed her neck. Blue's face turn red. "Spitty, we're in public." She giggled as she kissed her lover's lips. "I know, but I can't help myself." Spitfire stated. They heard giggling and turn to find the CMC's watching them, while whispering to each other. "Do you three have something to share with us?" Asked Spitfire with amusement. Apple Bloom put her hoof up as to look at an imaginary watch. "Wow, look at the time! Come'on girls!" She ran off with the other two close behind. Sweetie Belle paused to look back at the couple sheepishly and ran to catch up with her friends. Spitfire shook her head. "Kids." She scoffed in good humor. She turn her attention back to Blue. She noticed her marefriend looking over a grocery list. "You need help with that?" She asked, nodding to the list. Blue smiled. "Sure! You can help if you want." She gave her a pouch of bits. "I'll get the honey, granola, and cranberries, while you get the milk, sugar, and alfalfa." She instructed. "We'll meet back here when we're done." Spitfire nodded as she grabbed the pouch. "Sound like a good plan to me." She mumbled around the pouch. Half an hour later, they return to Blue's home. Wisp walked up to Spitfire as the pegasus help put away the groceries. "Hey girl!" Spitfire greeted the fox cub and pat her head. Blue smiled at her pet. "I bet you are hungry." She got out a small pot and pour warm water in it. "So, are free tonight?" Spitfire asked her lover. Blue nodded as she put the pot on the stove. "Sure. It's the weekend and I don't have work." She raised her eyebrow as she put an egg in the pot. "Why?" Spitfire walked up behind her and wrapped her forehooves around her. "I just wondering if you want to go on a proper date with me." Spitfire suggested as she nuzzled the side of her neck. "I know we been together for a couple of weeks, but I want an actual date." She explained as she kissed her neck. She continued to kiss along her lover's neck, making her shiver. She made her way to Blue's fuzzy ear. "So, what do you think?" Spitfire whispered as she nibbled on the fuzzy appendage. Blue turned around and leaned back against the stove. She gazed into the warm orange gaze of her lover. "Sure." She breathed. "I would love to go on a proper date with you." She smiled and kissed her. Spitfire smiled and kissed her back, closing her eyes to enjoy this blissful moment with the pony she loved. The moment cut short when Wisp growled impatiently. She smiled at the silver fox with affection. "Alright, girl." She giggled. She got out a bowl and put the boiled egg in it. She then gave it to Wisp. She turn around and nuzzled Spitfire. "I have to go to the little filly's room. I'll be right back." She whispered. The fiery pegasus returned the nuzzle, understanding. Blue quickly trotted away towards the bathroom, while Spitfire stared at her flank. Spitfire was starting to go to lala land, when she heard a squeal of fright and a loud *bang!* in the bathroom. She shook herself out of daydreaming and rushed towards the bathroom. "Blue, are you alright?" She asked worriedly. As she went inside, she spotted Blue cowering on top of the toilet. The batpony locked eyes with her and shakily pointed a hoof towards the shared corner of the shower and a wall. Spitfire followed her gaze and spotted a small furry spider. Spitfire chuckled and walk towards it. "What are you doing, Spitty? Don't go near it!" Blue squeaked. Spitfire coaxed the spider onto her hoof. "You're scared of this little guy?" She showed it to Blue. The batpony quickly turn her gaze from the eight-legged arachnid. "Please! Take it outside!" She wailed in fear. "Alright, alright." She giggled as she walked out of the bathroom and towards the window. She opened the window and sat the spider outside. She heard the flush of the toilet and turn to see her lover watching in fear. Spitfire had to admit; Blue look so cute with her ears pinned back against her head and her eyes widened with fear. She remind Spitfire of a little kitty cat. "I is it gone?" Blue whimpered. Spitfire nodded and walked over to hug her. She wrapped her forelegs and wings around the frightened mare. She had no idea that her mare is an arachniphobe . She leaned in and nuzzled her face. "Don't worry, Blue. It's not coming back." Spitfire soothed. She let go of her and started to walk away. "Why don't you get yourself ready for our date?" The pegasus suggested. "I'm going to go do the same." Blue nodded and walk beside her, feeling better. "Sure." She leaned in to give her a kiss. Spitfire kissed her back. "I'll pick you up around eight. Sounds good, yeah?" Blue nodded and watched her hopped out of the window. Blue then squealed in excitement, her arachnophobia suddenly vanished. She rushed and grabbed a towel and went into the shower. She look around to see if the spider had any friends around. Upon not seeing any, she head into the shower. She took awhile, enjoying the warm water and humming to her favorite tune. She then got out and dried herself out, taking her time to brush her mane and tail. She walk out, seeing that is now seven thirty at night. She decided to read a Daring Do book until it was time. She put down her book as she heard a knock on her door. She smiled as she look at the time and opened the door. Spitfire stood there with a grin, holding out her hoof. "Shall we?" She proposed. Blue nodded and took her hoof. Together, they went out of the museum and took flight. Blue smiled and leaned against her lover as they soar through the night, the moon shining bright overhead. Spitfire turned and caught her breath as she gazed at the batpony. The moonbeam had shown through electric blue mane, making it sparkle. Spitfire had thought she had never seen anything more beautiful in her life. She close her eyes for a bit to breath in the scent of her lover; the scent of coconut and mangoes. She used her hooves to cover Blue's eyes. "Don't peak yet. We're almost there." She explained. Blue heard a roar of water up ahead. As they near the sound, Spitfire put her hooves away. Blue was astounded as she look in front her. In front of them was a ring of mountains with waterfalls pouring off of each one. "Wow.." She breathed as she watched the the sparkling water reflect moonbeams. "This is so beautiful, Spitfire." She turned to her golden lover who was gazing at her with love and affection. She leaned forward and touched noses with her. "Not as beautiful as you." Blue blushed and look away. " Pfft! You know that is so cheesy do you?" Spitfire giggled at the reaction. "It's true."She commented. "And speaking of cheesy, I got another surprise for you." She took her by the hoof and led her behind one of the waterfalls into a cave. Sitting inside was a blanket covered in candles and empty wine glasses. Beside it was an open basket and beside it was a bowl of cheese fondue and another with chocolate fondue. Beside of it was a plate of strawberries, marshmallows, and small cheese squares with sticks next to it. Blue landed near the cheese fondue and sniffed at it. She glared at Spitfire with a smirk. "I'll get you with that pun." She teased. Spitfire land beside her and playfully nudged her with a hoof. "I like to see you try." She mocked. Spitfire trotted over to the basket and got out a bottle of red wine. She poured it in each glass and gave one to Blue. She picked up a stick and put a cheese square on it. She dipped it in the cheese fondue. She thrust the cheese towards Blue, who was sipping the wine. "Hey, do you want cheese with that wine?" she offered. Blue giggled and took the cheese in her mouth. "That's not very punny, Spitty." She took her stick and put a marshmallow on it. "Heh, it kind of looks like Rarity." she joked. She dipped it in the chocolate and reached over to put in Spitfire's mouth. But it missed and got chocolate on The golden mare's cheeks. Blue blushed in embarrassment. "Sorry!" She squeaked turning her head with shame. Spitfire paused for a moment. She wiped the chocolate off with her hoof and scooted closer to her lover. "Blue?" She brushed against her. "Blue, it's okay." She lifted her hoof and brushed her forelock away. Her heart broke a little when she see the tear stained face. She leaned in and licked the tears away. "It's okay Blue. It was an accident, I'm not mad." She soothed as she leaned closer to nuzzle her face. "I'm not like your father. I would never hurt you, even if you made a little mistake." She got up and trot towards the basket. She leaned in and got out a blue flower necklace. She trot back to Blue and put it around her neck. The flowers were forget me nots. Blue lifted the flowers around her neck with her hooves. Spitfire sat behind her and wrapped her own hooves around her and brought her lover close. Blue leaned back and nuzzled under Spitfire's chin. "Oh, Spitfire. They're beautiful." Spitfire gently placed her hoof against her cheek and pressed her forehead against hers while gently rocking both of them back and forth. They sat there for awhile as the sound of the waterfalls roared outside > Ch.14: The Way The Cookie Crumbles Pt1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spitfire and Blue were on a train ride to Manehatten with all of Blue's friends. They were getting ready to see Blue's other fillyhood friend, Brownie Batter and her family. They all got there own private booths and Spitfire and Blue decided to share one together. The booth got a nice comfortable bed and a bench for them to sit in. The couple were in the bed, cuddling with each other. Blue giggled at the joke Spitfire was telling and kissed her. She rest her head on her chest and sighed with content. "You have to try my friend's strawberry filled brownies. They are the best." Spitfire caress her face. " I guess I will." She said as she booped her nose, making her giggle. Spitfire lifted her face and kissed her. She felt Blue prodded her lips with her tongue and she open her mouth to comply. She felt fire in her heart as she felt her lover's tongue slipped in. Spitfire then slipped her own tongue into Blue's mouth, their tongues meet in a dance. Spitfire twitched her wings as Blue teased them with her hooves. They soon parted, needing to take a breath. Blue smiled and laid her head back on her chest. She soon fell asleep. Spitfire smiled at the mare and kissed her forehead. She wrapped her forelegs around her and buried her nose into her neck. She sighed as she traced her scars with her hoof. The train soon pulled up to the Manehatten train station and all eight mares hopped off. It was late at night. They walk through the station and out of the door. Blue widened her eyes as she she gazed around at the large city. One large poster on the biggest building has a picture of green cat eyes. Spitfire flagged down a large pony drawn cab and everypony hopped on. The cab pony was surprise at the large group of mares "Take us to Brownie and Macadamia's cookie shop please." Blue told the pony. The pony nodded and galloped on through the city. "Oh, this is simply exciting!" Squealed Rarity as her eyes twinkle at Blue. "The last time we ever came here is on a Friendship mission, now were back to help out a new friend!" "Thanks Rarity." Blue said. Rarity smiled and closed her eyes with pleasure. "Definitely!" Pinkie Pie chimed in. "I can't wait to try some of Brownie Batter's treats. I already came to prepare!" She got out a gigantic bag of bits. Blue widened her eyes. "Were did you even get this money?" She asked, flabbergasted. The pink mare just shrugged. "Being a party pony is big business." She exchange glances with Spitfire who shrugged. "Do ya think she has any snickerdoodle cookies?" Asked Applejack. "There mah favorite!" She licked her lips in anticipation. Rainbow Dash narrowed her eyes in disbelief. "I thought you only like apple flavored stuff." The farm pony glared at her. "Not everything about me is apple related." She said matter of factually. "Well, your name and job is apple related." Rainbow stated. They both started to growl at each other. "Girls! Get a hold of yourselves! We're here to support Blue, not arguing about cookies!" Scolded Twilight. The cab soon pulled up to a two story white building with brown trimmings. The logo got a picture of a brown batpony and tan unicorn that had the words "Brownie Batter and Macadamia's Cookie Shop!" Surrounding the picture in brown font. "I guess this is the place." Said Blue. They all got off and Blue gave the cab driver a bag of bits for the tip. "Thanks!" He shouted as he trotted away. They trotted forward with Blue in the lead. Blue paused at the door and gulp nervously. Spitfire put a protective wing over her. "What's the problem, love?" She asked softly. The batpony took a deep breath. "I'm so nervous. Brownie got a filly and I don't know if she's going to like me." Spitfire gave her fillyfriend an encouraging nuzzle. "She haven't even met you yet. I'm sure she'll like you." Blue nodded and with enough courage she open the door, making the bell ring. Blue paused and took a deep breath, finding the scent of baked goods comforting. Loads of cookies and brownies were in dishes in the front on display. The sweets was also in packages, were on the shelves surrounding the interior with the same logo as the store. A tall lanky tan unicorn stallion with pale yellow and white mane and hazel eyes was up at front near the cash register. He got macadamia nuts as his cutie mark. He look up and smile. "You must be Brownie's sister. She told me all about you." He greeted. "Honey! Looks who's here!" He shouted towards the back. A brown batpony mare with long, wavy, darker brown mane and brown eyes walked out. She got a bowl of brownie batter as her cutie mark. She was wearing a white apron with batter splattered all over it. Her eyes sparkled with delight. "Blue!" She flew forward and tackled the black batpony. Blue giggled and hugged her back. "It's good to see you too, Brownie." Pinkie giggled and joined in on the tackle hug. Brownie look at the pink mare with shock. "Is that Pinkie Pie !?" She hopped off Blue and gave her a hoofshake. "Big fan!" Pinkie grinned as wide as unponyly possible. "I got a fan!" She squealed in delight. The rest of her friends laughed in amusement. "Also Spitfire the Wonderbolt's captain, Princess Twilight, and the other Elements. Blue where do you even find these ponies!" Brownie asked, flabbergasted. Blue just smiled. "Oh, I have my ways. Also Spitfire is now my marefriend." Brownie hugged her tightly. "I am so happy for you, Blue. And I see you've met my husband, Macadamia Nut." She said as the unicorn walk up towards her. Blue dipped her head in greetings towards the stallion. "It's so nice to meet you." "Like wise." Macadamia said with a smile. Brownie walk towards the door and flip the "Open" sign to "Closed". "I'm closing up anyways." Said Brownie. "Now who wants to see our little girl?" She went behind the cash register and got out a bag of cookies. They follow the couple upstairs to a three bedroom apartment. "Snickerdoodle! We got guests!" Shouted Brownie. They heard hoofsteps coming from one of the rooms and the door opened. An adorable batpony filly walked out. She got a tan coat and cinnamon colored wavy mane and tail. Her wings are also that color. What stand out was her golden eyes. They were glazed over. Blue gasped and lifted her hoof to her mouth. "She's blind?" Brownie nodded sadly. "She was born that way, unfortunately. But that doesn't mean we love her any less." Blue took a breath and walk towards her. "Hi there, little one. You can call me Blue." She introduced as she crouch to her level. Snickerdoodle smiled. "I know. Mama told me all about you. And you seem to brought friends" "I can sense that you are afraid I wouldn't like you. But don't worry Auntie Blue, I can see your aura and I can tell you are good pony. I like you!" She continued as she hugged Blue's leg. Applejack was looking confused. "Ah thought she was blind. How can she 'see' auras?" She asked. The batfilly turn her attention to the farm pony. "I am blind. I can't see objects, but I can see auras. They are also known as feelings." Her father shrugged. "Her foal docter didn't understand either. I'm guessing that's her special gift. " Twilight looked intrigued. "That sounds intresting and amazing at the same time. It's like her gift makes up for her lost sight." Pinkie Pie rushed forward. "Hi Snickers! Can I call you Snickers? Snickerdoodle sounds like a long name! Anyway's I'm Pinkie Pie, one of Equestria's best party pony!" She rambled. Snickerdoodle was taken back by the pink pony's energetic nature. She backed away a little. "Sure. I don't mind." She said. "Is she always like this?" She whispered to Blue. The black batpony rolled her eyes. "Plenty of times. I guess that's what happens if you eat to much sugar." Snickerdoodle sniffed the air. "Do I smell snickerdoodle cookies?" She asked. With a squeal of excitement she ran up to her mother. "Give me! Give me!" She chanted. Brownie dropped the bag and pulled it out of her reach for a few seconds. "Now none of that." She scolded. "What's the magic word?" The filly groan. "Please?" Brownie smiled and pushed the bag towards her daughter. "That's my girl. Can I have a kiss on the cheek too?" Snickerdoodle blushed. "But mama, there's other ponies watching." She complained. But she gave in and fluttered up and kissed her mother's brown cheek. "Awe!" Cooed all the other ponies in the room. She landed back on the ground and grabbed a cookie from the bag. She began to gobbled up quickly when her mother stopped her. "Slow down, Doodles. You're going to choke." She chided her. Snickerdoodle nodded and slowed down her bites. Blue was watching her with adoration in her eyes. Spitfire smiled and put her wing over her. "Cute kid, eh?" Blue nodded and laid her head on her shoulder. "Definitely, love." She reached forward and kissed her. Snickerdoodle paused from her treat and smiled at them. She then smirked. "If you d'awwed at me, you should do the same to them. Their love for each other is so strong." It was Spitfire and Blue's turn to blush. Spitfire smirked back at her. "Cocky little thing, are ya?" Snickerdoodle shook her head. "I'm five and I don't know what that word means." The adults laughed. "She's smart for five." Commented Fluttershy. > Ch.15:The Way The Cookie Crumbles Pt2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spitfire smiled as she watch Blue play with Snickerdoodle on the floor. They were both rolling a red ball on towards each other. "Can I call you Auntie Blue?' Asked Snickerdoodle as she rolled the ball back towards her. "Sure! I may not be your mother's real sister, but she's like a sister to me. She, Ace, and I are the only child in each of our families so it feels natural." Snickerdoodle's golden eyes lit up in recognition. "Aunt Ace! Mom told me about her." Blue smiled. "Yeah, I met up with her a month ago." "Anyways," Blue begin changing the topic. "Nightmare Night is coming up. What are you going to do?" Brownie chimed in. "Her special needs school is planning a party that night." Snickerdoodle hopped up and down. "I'm gonna dress up as red rideing hood. I love that story, even though I don't know what she looks like!" The ponies in the room giggled in amusement. Snickerdoodle stopped and yawn. "Looks like somepony's tired" commented Brownie. Snickerdoodle turn to her mother in protest. "No I'm not!" "You should go to bed, Doodles. It's late and I'm sure Blue and her friends are tired as well." Snickerdoodle's ears drooped a little. "But, Mamma.." Browniee covered her lips before the filly try to protest anymore. "No buts." she said sternly. "Okay." Snickerdoodle sighed in defeat. Then her ears perked up again. "Can Auntie Blue tuck me in?" She asked hopefully. the brown batpony shared a glance with Blue. "Sure. If she wants to" Snickerdoodle turned her unseeing gaze towards Blue, watching her hopefully. Blue smiled. "I'd loved to." Snickerdoodle lifted herself off the ground, flapping her wings joyfully. "Yay!" She flew over and grabbed her hoof, dragging the poor mare towards her room. Blue turn back to her marefriend helplessly. Spitfire just smirked at her. Spitfire stand up after a few minutes. "I'm gonna go and make sure she's alright." She trotted towards Snickerdoodle's room and paused when she heard a soft tune of a lullaby. She cracked open the the door and watched as her lover tucked in the filly while singing a soft tune. Spitfire watched in awe as she leaned against the door way. She would make a good mother. She imagine what it would be like if they adopt their own filly or colt in the near future. As she watched Snickerdoodle sleep, she felt a maternal connection towards the blind bat filly. Blue slowly walked away and and eyed Spitfire at the door. She look back at the sleeping filly. She knows that look. Spitfire was thinking about adopting a foal with her in the near future. But as she look back when she had that dream, of her falling from a gorge, she know that wouldn't happen. Adopting a foal wasn't Blue's destiny. She knew the sparkling lake dream is coming soon and she didn't know when. Her dream about Wisp had already came soon. Without saying anything she walked up to Spitfire and pressed her nose against her neck. She remember that night in Las Pegasus when Spitfire told her of nightmare and begged her not to leave her like that. Blue shouldn't have made that promise. She only did so to never hear her crying. She hated hearing that fearless captain crying her heart out like that. Spitfire smiled and nuzzled the mare's cheek. They both stepped out of the room and into the living room. Blue saw her friends gossiping with Brownie and her husband. Brown turn to Blue when she heard her walk towards her. "Oh, there you are. We were talking about were you guys be staying. Blue, you and your marefriend can get the extra bedroom, while the others can sleep in here." She said. Pinkie took out a suitcase and opened it up and got out some sleeping bags for her and the rest of the girls. "That's sound good to me, Brownie." Blue said in agreement. She glanced at her adopted sister. She wonders what going to happen to them when her last of her dream came true. Sure, Blue don't know what's going to happen after that, but surviving what she had seen is very unlikely. Brownie gave her a plate of freshly baked strawberry filled brownies. The wiff of it made her mouth water, taking her mind off of her dream. "Thanks." She said gratefully. Brownie smiled. "You're welcome! I know they are your favorite. Macadamia and I are gonna turn in for tonight. So see ya!" She said as she followed her husband into their room. Spitfire and Blue said goodnight as well and went into the spare room. They both hopped onto the bed as Blue set the plate of brownies between them. Spitfire grabbed one and took a bite. Her eyes widened as she taste the mixture of creamy choclate and luscious strawberries together. "Wow, you are right. These are amazing." Blue smiled and kissed her on the nose. "Exactly, dear." She grabbed one as well. She smiled as she savored strawberry filled treats, enjoying the sweet strawberry jam that made up the filling as well as the fresh strawberry slices that's in it. Blue sat the now empty plate on the nightstand beside them and climbed under the blankets as the chilly autumn air hit her wings. Spitfire did the same thing and pulled Blue closer to her to share her warmth. She wrapped her wing around her and buried her nose into her mane. She flicked an ear in boredom. "Ugh, I can't sleep now." She grumbled as she stared into Blue's eyes. "Can you sing to me?" Blue rolled her eyes. "Of course, you big baby." She teased, kissing her lips. She starts to sing the same lullaby she sang to Snickerdoodle. Spitfire wrapped both hooves around her, pressing her head against hers, feeling entranced by the soothijg song. Her eyes drift open and closed as she slowly drifted off to sleep. Blue stopped singing and nuzzled the now sleeping mare. "Goodnight, my love." She whispered in her ears. She fell asleep as well. Blue heared a growl behind her as she ran across the field. She look behind her as a pack of timber wolves is on her tail. She had to lure them away from the team. She heard a roar of water up ahead. Her heart lurched as she spotted the love of her life pinned against a paw of the pack leader. "Trust your destiny!" She heared a regal voice in her head. She leap on top of the woodened canine. It fell, not before taking her with her. > Ch.16:Overworked > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blue, Spitfire, and Blue's friends were at the Manehatten train station to wait for the train to take them home. Brownie Batter and her daughter, Snickerdoodle was there to send them off. Blue hugged Brownie. "Thanks for having us over. I promise to write to you for every chance that I get." Brownie hugged her back. She giggled. "You better." Blue turn to Snickerdoodle as they parted from the hug. "And you, little one. Have a fun Nightmare Night, okay?" The tan batfilly smiled and hugged her. "I will, Auntie Blue. I'm gonna miss you." She said as Blue hugged her back. The train soon appear and halted to a stop. The conducter hopped out. "Train to Ponyville! All aboared!" He hollered. Blue and her friends started to get on the train. Blue paused and waved at the batpony mother and daughter and hopped on as well. Blue and Spitfire took a seat as Blue look out the window and watched as the large city dwindled away in the distance. She then turn to her marefriend, who was watching her with a loving smile. Spitfire wrapped her wing around her and kissed her cheek. Blue grinned and leaned against her as they watched the world outside the train. ***** Sunday has gone by fast as Blue woke up from her own bed. She sighed. Another nightmare about her father. She can't even remember the last time she slept without dreaming about him. And if it isn't that dream, it's the other one with the gorge and the wolves made out of timber. She got out of bed and streached and walked towards her bathroom, pausing to give a sleeping Wisp a nuzzle as she walked by. She got into the shower and turned on the warm water. She sighed in content as the warm water run down her back. After her shower, she opened her window and hopped out, deciding to take a long flight through town to take her mind off things. After flying for awhile, Blue spotted a cloud and deciding to sat on it and watch the town below. Her ears perked as she heard a sound of a distressed filly. "Help!" She took off in an instant and followed the sound until she spotted a pink earth pony filly, wearing a tiara on her head, stuck in a tree. Another filly on the ground below her, silver in color and wearing glasses look on in horror. Blue recognised the two fillys; Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. The pink filly was reaching out for a black cat above her. She paused and glared down at Silver. "Silvie, I told you! There's nothing to worry about! I need to get Blackie down!" She shouted as she continued to reach for her cat. "Besides, what's the worst that could happen? The branch breaking and causing me to fall?" Diamond scoffed. As soon as she said that, the branch did what she said, causing her to fall. Blue caught her before she hit the ground. Blue lowered her next to her friend and flew up to grab the cat. She paused as the cat hissed at her. Blue ignored him and grabbed him anyways, causing the angry black cat to claw her cheek. "Ow! I'm trying to help you here!" She snapped. She gave the cat back to her owner. Diamond beemed. "Thanks miss!" She winced as the filly gave her cheek a look. "I'm sorry that he scratched you. Blackie doesn't like other ponies but me." Blue grimaced as she placed her hoof on her scratched cheek. "I'm fine. But please get him trained. And next time, get an adult to help you out, okay?" The two rich fillies nodded and walked away. Blue turn around as she heard hoofsteps behind her. Applejack, Twilight, and Fluttershy was walking towards her. "Hey, Blue. Do you have a minute?" "Sure. What do you need?" She asked. She noticed there glowing flanks. "You three going on a Friendship mission?" Her three friends nodded. "That's why we need to talk to you." Twilight admitted. "You don't mind to help Spike and Starlight rearranged the books in the castle library don't you?" "And help around the farm?" Added Applejack. "I need help with my animal friends." Fluttershy said shyly. "If you don't mind, that is." Blue took a moment to think about it. They might be gone for a whole week and Blue also need to do her night guarding work too. She'll never have time to sleep. But on the bright side, she get to avoid her dreams. "Sure! I'll do it!" She said with determination. ***** Blue walk towards Fluttershy's cottage, deciding to check up on Fluttershy's animals first. The yellow pegasus told her she already fed them this morning, but she said she got an injured bear needing medications. Fluttershy said she was about to do it when the Map called her. She spotted the bear right away as reached the cottage. Blue paused to look at him. The bear is huge. He stared at her with curiosity. She walked up to him and notice a huge scratch on him. Blue figured he's been in a fight. Blue walk into the cottage to get the medication and walk out. She hovered over him and landed on his back. She slowly walk towards his shoulder and apply the medicane on the wound. The bear roared in pain and lifted himself on his hind legs, throwing Blue off. The bat pony landed hard on her back on the ground, stunning her for a minute. She groan as she rolled onto her legs and stand up. She opened her wings and hovered neared him, managing to banadge it before he took a swipe at her. Feeling like her work here is done, she decided to go to Sweet Apple Acres to help out on the farm. ***** After a long day of bucking apples and rearranging books, Blue trotted towards the museum for work. She hopped in her through her window, shut it, fed Wisp, got on her uniform and went into the main part of the building. She grabbed the keys and lock up the exibits. She then patrol the building, making sure there's no thefts walking about. Blue continued her patrols until midnight, even past midnight, until the first light of the next day. She look at the clock on the desk. 8:30? Should I get some shut eye? She shook her head in determination. No. I got other stuff I need to do. I don't have time to sleep. She walk towards her room and hopped out of the window, deciding to feed Fluttershy's animal friends. ***** It is now Friday and Blue already feel the affect of not sleeping the whole week. She spend every day and night, working hard. And her stomach is growling for not eating as much. As much as she needs to sleep, she can't. Her friends and the muesem needs her. She was about to finish another round of bucking apples when she heard the sound of hoofs landed beside her. "There you are Blue. Rainbow had told me you were working your tail off, so I decided to check up on you." Blue recognised the voice of her marefriend. Spitfire gasped in shock as she got a good look at her lover. Blue got bags under her eyes and look like she's about to collasped from exhaustion any minute. "Did you even sleep at all this week?" She asked in concern. Blue shook her head. "I can't. Way too busy." She said. She picked up the basket full of apples on her back and started to head towards the barn. But she collasped before she got there, dropping it. With eyes widened, Spitfire rushed to her side and find that she was sleeping. She crouched down and gently eased the sleeping bat pony onto her back. She then lifted her wings and flew through town. She landed at the muesem and hopped through the already opened basement window. Spitfire then gently lowered Blue onto her bed and curled up next to her. Spitfire lifted her hoof and gently caress her face. Blue started to stur and slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes met with a very stern Spitfire. "Blue. Why didn't you sleep at all this week?" She demanded with a hint of worry. Blue's ears pinned back against her head. "I'm sorry Spitty, it's just I had way to much time on my hoofs and I didn't have the time." She said as lowered her head in shame. "Why didn't you asked for help?" Spitfire asked. Blue blinked and yawned. "I didn't think of that." Spitfire sighed. "And now you are paying the price. Blue, please promise me to never do this again." Blue sighed and closed her eyes. "I promise. I learned my lesson." She said as she drift back to sleep. Spitfire giggled and kissed her forehead.
