Fluttershy giggles softly. “Just remember to feed every creature, and chop up Angel’s carrots into really small pieces,” Fluttershy explains, mostly to herself as her friend was rolling her eyes and not listening. “Yeah, yeah, like I said, I’ve got this,” Rainbow Dash repeats. Fluttershy politely opens her cottage door with a small, shy, smile. “R-Right, just in case you forget anything, I've written everything down and left it on the kitchen counter,” she says softly. Rainbow smirks, walking into the cottage. “I’m sure I won’t need it but thanks,” she says confidently, beginning to shut the door. Fluttershy squeaks and tries to push out a sentence before the door is all the way shut.   “Rainbow Dash wait I-” she is cut off as the door slams shut, causing her to wince and sigh, “what am I saying? Rainbow can handle herself!” Fluttershy smiles quietly to herself as she trots away from the cottage, on route to her planned dinner with her friend, Tree Hugger. Rainbow Dash stretches herself out onto Fluttershy’s couch, a Daring Do book in hoof. She purrs as her wings relax and quiet falls over the cottage aside from the soft skitters of Fluttershy’s small animals. Rainbow nods, enjoying the thought of alone time. Her magenta eyes skim over the words on the pages, a smile on her face as her imagination pieced them together in an action scene that played in her mind. About half-way through the main fight, a knock at the door strikes her out of it, Rainbow giving a grumpy huff as her thoughts scatter. She pushes herself up and sets her book onto the couch before trotting over to the door. Opening it, she doesn’t bother to look up from the ground as she greets who she thought to be Fluttershy. “Fluttershy, I told you, I have it all under contr-” she is cut off by the voice of a stallion. “Oh come on Dashie, do you really think I look like my grumpy big sis?” he remarks, offended. Rainbow’s eyes shoot up to meet the unexpected guest with a look of pure dread. “Zephyr?!” Rainbow hisses. Zephyr Breeze, Fluttershy’s younger brother, invites himself in by pushing Rainbow rudely. “Oh, didn’t my big sis tell you that you were going to be blessed by the Breeze today?” Zephyr smirks. Rainbow’s ears slick back against her head as she snorts and shuts the door. “No, no she didn’t” Rainbow growls. Zephyr tossed his duffel bag aside and grips her cheeks with his hooves. “Aren’t you glad she didn’t my little Dashie!?” he purrs,” I was always the best surprise!” “I’m sure your parents would say different-,” Rainbow growls under her breath, smacking his hooves away, “don’t touch me, and stop calling me that!” “Ugh, you are killing my mood Dashie!” he groans dramatically. Rainbow rolls her eyes and heads into the kitchen, now just wanting to finish Fluttershy’s tasks and get out of here. She trots over to the list settled neatly onto the counter as creaks of the floorboards signaled that Zephyr was moving furniture. She sighs dreadfully and tries to read over the list, finding it hard with all that was going on in the living room. She gives up and goes from memory, pulling out a bag of carrots and starting to chop them into small pieces. Zephyr realizes she isn’t out there with him anymore and peeks in to see what she was doing. “Oh, a mare that knows how to cook me supper,” Zephyr grins and wraps his arm around her shoulders, “I like that.” Rainbow’s ears flatten against her head as she ignores him to the best of her ability, focusing on cutting the carrot instead of her deepening rage. Once she was finished cutting them up, she swats Zephyr’s hooves away again and dumps them into Angel’s small dinner bowl. She grits her teeth as the rabbit made his way to the dish, sniffing it. Rainbow knew he could be picky about his dinner from experience, and right now, that was the last thing she wanted to deal with. Zephyr blabbles on behind her, talking about his work and how much he knew she loved him. Loved to hate more like, Rainbow thought with a slight huff, pushing her way back into the living area. She looks around, remembering the small little tree creatures Fluttershy had acquired in her living space. Yanking the bag of seed and nuts from behind the couch, she pours a large amount into the bowls placed neatly around Fluttershy’s living area. Once it seemed every creature had gathered and started to eat, Rainbow sighs and pushes her way back onto the couch, pushing her attention back to her abandoned book. Zephyr groans and rolls his eyes. “Come on Dashie, a once in hundreds of moons that you get to be in my presence and you don’t even look at me!?” he pouts, crossing his hooves,” how rude!” Rainbow Dash rolls her eyes and refuses to look up from her book, muttering something about how she wished it were thousands of moons. Zephyr begins to pace the room, pouting and groaning here and there before he stops and his eyes fall back onto the rainbow maned mare. He grins and trots over to her, prodding her cheek with a hoof. “How about a race Dashie?” he swoons. Rainbow cocks an eyebrow, looking up from the pages of her book, swatting his hoof away once again. “A race against what?” she asks. He puffs out his chest. “Against the best flyer in Equestria of course!” he huffs with a grin. She rolls her eyes. “Zephyr, I know i’m great but-” “Me!” Zephyr says with the confident stomp of a hoof, “i’ll give you the chance to beat me in a race my little Dashie” he smirks. Rainbow Dash spats, sucking in a breath to regain her patience. “What’s in it for me?” she asks, as calm as she can manage. “If you win, i’ll leave you to read your pesky little book in peace for the entire night,” he states, “and if I win, you have to kiss me and admit your in sweet sweet love with me once and for all!” Rainbow rises from the couch, flexing her wings and clicking her tongue. “Alright Zephyr, your on” she smirks. Zephyr pushes his way outside with a flick of his mane, Rainbow Dash tailing behind with a huff. Win against me? Who does he think he is! I've trained with the Wonderbolts for Celestia's sake! Rainbow thinks with a roll of her eyes. Zephyr stops at a few of Fluttershy's feeders. "Alright, where to darlin'?" he purrs. She ignores the swoon in his voice as she looks out into the darkening sky. "To Sugarcube Corner and back," Rainbow decides, flexing her wings. Zephyr runs a hoof through his mane and grins, pushing himself into a take off position beside her. "3...2...1..GO!" Rainbow shouts and takes off, leaving Zephyr behind in her rainbow flight trail. She grins, looking back momentarily before shooting off faster, weaving through the small streets of her hometown. "Rainbow!!" a familiar mare voice calls out to her, causing her to lurch to a halt. "Oh, hey Twilight," Rainbow smirks, landing next to her friend. Twilight smiles and chuckles. "You seem to be in a hurry?" she tilts her head curiously. Rainbow laughs. "Nah, just racing Zephyr for some peace," she explains. The purple alicorn nods. "Hm, guess you should be rushing off again then mm?" Twilight smirks,"don't want you to lose," she adds. Rainbow cracks into a loud laugh. "Oh please, I left him in my dust!" she announces proudly, slowly taking to the sky again, "But I want to see the look on his face once he realizes just how bad he lost!" Twilight waves a hoof as Rainbow shoots away again, laughing softly. Back on track again, Rainbow picks up the pace, wanting to be as far ahead of Zephyr as possible. Sugarcube Corner came into view, Rainbow slowing herself as she moves closer and closer. She comes to a screeching halt on the shop's stairs and fluffs her wings out in victory. "Ha! I win!" she announces proudly "Oh, is that so?" the voice of the stallion she so despised purred behind her. Rainbow's heart froze in frustration, whipping around angrily. "H-How!?" she gasps, "how did you beat me!?!" Zephyr swings a hoof around her shoulders and laughs. "Oh my little Dashie, don't tell me you don't know the shortcut from my sister's cottage!" he grins. She shakes her head, groaning and huffing. "Now Dashie," he purrs, resting his hoof under her chin and forcing her eyes up, "a deal is a deal." Rainbow felt her stomach knot, fury turning into disgust and shame. "F-Fine, make it quick!" she snaps. Zephyr rolls his eyes and leans in slowly, pulling her in by the chin as he did so. Despite her bodies protest, Rainbow Dash allowed it. She was a lot of things, but a deal breaker wasn't one of them. She squeezes her eyes shut as she felt his breath on her lips. As soon as it began, it ended, she kept herself tensed, even after it was over. "Gee Dashie, you seem a little tense, did the Breeze's kiss make you so shy?" he purrs. She smacks his hoof away, growling and stomping off. "Get the buck away from me," she snaps and zips off again. Zephyr purrs, grinning from ear to ear as he watches her shoot into the sky and leave. "Yep, she's sooo got the hots for me."
