Midnight decides to take matters into her own hooves....hands...

Midnight Affection started reading the WEBTOON comic Lore Olympus and came across a particular triggering moment in one chapter. As she continues reading, she sees nothing is being done about it. So she decides to enter the world of the comic and take matters into her own hooves - erm - hands.

(Kinda inspired by the latest chapter of Lore Olympus....if you aren’t reading, I - gently -suggest you read it to get a full picture. Also, I did it to relieve a little anger myself)

If you want something done, do it your self

The day in the ethereal realm started off like any other day. Peaceful. Six doors lined the walls, three on either side. Each containing a mare and had their own respective custom spaces and was enjoying their day in one form or another. Just another calm day. Well, for all except one alabaster unicorn.

“I can’t believe this! How is no one doing anything about this?!” Midnight paced around, phone hovering in her magic. She was reading the latest chapter of Lore Olympus. “Hera come on!! You know something is wrong! It’s literally in front of your face!!”

The scene on the screen depicted a golden-skinned woman wandering a gallery while thinking to herself. Considering what may have happened to a certain adorable pink girl.

“Middy? What are you ranting about now?” Lotus asked, idly standing in the doorway.

“Lotus, did you read today’s chapter?” Midnight asked, still pacing

“Yeah, Middy, I did.” Lotus sighed and walked into the room. “and you getting yourself all worked up won’t change anything. Just quit pacing, calm yourself, sit down and just finish reading the chapter. It gets cuter.”

“Sit down?! Calm down?! Lotus how can I do that? You know very well you were practically screaming at your phone when reading this too” Midnight pointed a hoof at Lotus.

Lotus rolled her eyes and took Midnight’s hoof, leading her back to a seat. “Look, Middy. I’m as mad as you are that it’s taking so long for things to be resolved. And as much as I love Perse being around that lovable hunky blue dork...and wanna slap him for choosing that red bimbo, you gotta let things take their course. The author knows how they want the story to unfold. I’m sure they’re reading our comments and I’m pretty sure there’s a joke tally being marked up by someone as to who will serve just punishment to that purple asshole for what he did. Just gotta be patient.”

“But Hera is literally staring at his picture! She’s literally got the vibe something is wrong yet it’s like getting close to prey and letting it get away!” Midnight snorted.

“Look we all want either Mama Hera or Rage Galaxy Hades to deal with Apollo...and do things that should possibly kill him. But now my money is on Persephone putting him in his place. I mean we’ve seen her get angry, snippy, sarcastic, and more. Our precious cinnamon roll can handle herself.” Lotus chuckled “now just read the rest of the chapter and relax. Enjoy the cute moment between Hades and Persephone. We are simply the audience for this story we have no influence over it. Not like we can just go into the story and kick Apollo’s ass ourselves” Lotus trotted to the door. “Maybe read Siren’s Lament or Eggnoid after to calm you down more once you’re done with Lore.”

As soon as Lotus was gone, her words began to resonate with Midnight. “Not like we can just go into the story and kick Apollo’s ass ourselves.” No truer words could have been spoken. But then again, when you’ve got magic, Anything is possible. Right? With her phone still in her magical grasp, Midnight searched through her books for a spell that could transfer herself into the story to do what needed to be done. She found the spell and begun to cast it.

Midnight strode with purpose as she walked through Olympus. Her alabaster cost changed to a skin tone similar to polished ivory, her black and blue curls were free and bouncing with each step, her Sakura pink eyes burned with a purpose behind her glasses, and she wore modern appropriate clothes. A silver shoulder less cowl neck top, black jeans, and comfortable sneakers.

Despite her revenge-fueled mind, she did attract some attention from her beauty alone. She was approached by a few guys, but it wasn’t until after the fifth guy that she realized she had no idea where to even look for her target. Sure she wanted nothing more than to rip the guy’s head off and use it for a new ball for Cerberus to play with, but first, she needed to find him, Apollo. When the next guy approached her, Midnight turned on the charm.

“Hey, there cutie, what’s your name?” The guy asked.

“My name isn’t too important. I mean I’m just a little nymph who’s looking for someone.” She said, twirling a curl around her finger.

“Well, maybe I can help. Tell me who you’re looking for and maybe we can find them together.” He offered.

“Thanks. I was wondering if you knew where Apollo was...right this moment.” She smiled brightly. “I have something to give him.”

Apollo was apparently out for a drive. Perfect opportunity. When he arrived at wherever Midnight was at and took one look at her, he immediately went to charm her.

“Hey, cutie. I heard you were looking for me” Apollo said, a smug smile dripping with confidence plastered on his beatable purple face.

‘This guy...he doesn’t even feel remorse for what he did. Scum like him never do. I’ll remedy that.’ Midnight thought, keeping a charming expression. “Why yes. I have something I wanted to give you. But can we go somewhere private?”

"Anything you want." He escorted her to his car and let her get in before getting in himself and speeding off. "So where to?"

"Oh, I don't know, somewhere with a nice view maybe?"

"Little romantic seclusion? I can do that." He said. Midnight could hear the smirk in his voice and practically feel his eyes scanning her. It made her skin crawl a bit as the drive continued. Apollo tried getting to know Midnight, but she gave him short or vague answers that were all lies. That she was a nymph who aspired to be of service to any god but knew to not cross certain lines.

"Well, you're quite the cutie. Maybe I can give you a job to do. A permanent one, if you want." Apollo said, voice dripping with alternate intentions.

"Oh, I already have a job. A very short one." Midnight mumbled. The drive continued until they reach an adequate destination. Midnight got out of the car and stared at the view of Olympus from atop a secluded cliff. Her enjoyment of the view was interrupted by Apollo wrapping his arms around her and kissing her cheek. "What do you think you're doing?"

"Don't be coy. This set up couldn't be more perfect. You wanted to talk privately and what could be more private than this? Plus...I do hear certain nymphs don't mind doing anything for a job." He purred, using his teeth to lightly tug at the string keeping her top up. Apollo slowly ran his hands across Midnight's body, confident in himself and his sexual prowess. All of this suddenly stops and what's heard is Apollo wheezing and coughing in the grass. "Wh-What in the name of the Underworld did you do that for?"

"...because you hurt the very personification of a precious cinnamon roll." Midnight mumbled.

"I don't get what you're talking abo-" Apollo was cut off again, the result of a kick to the stomach that sent him flying back a bit.

"You hurt Persephone and you'll answer for that crime."

Apollo glanced up at her through slight teary eyes. "She wanted me. Besides, a naive girl like her was pretty easy. I quite enjoyed her. Just like I'll enjoy you." Apollo laughed and lunged at Midnight before he suddenly froze. "What...the...I can't move!"

"Paralysis spell. Very handy for a mare like myself. Though I prefer not to show my magical skills and just be a pleasant, sweet pony. Though at this point, being little miss nice mare won't get me anywhere." Midnight said, smiling. "Pretty boys like you think you can get away with anything. And considering the rather complex family dynamic your world is comprised of, I think things will work out quite nicely when I'm done here.

"What are you talking about?" Apollo snapped, clearly confused. Midnight came over and grabbed a handful of his hair, forcing him to look her eye to eye.

"I'm the justice Persephone rightly deserves after what you did to her. I'm also your punishment for your disguising, pompous, arrogant behavior. Now I recommend you keep your mouth shut...or you could bite your tongue."

What followed were the sounds of slaps, hard blows, someone hitting the ground and maybe a few whines. Midnight panted heavily as she looked down at Apollo's slightly bruised but heavily beaten up body. She wiped her forehead and picked up his phone, sending out a text to his sister, Artemis, and his Aunt Hera detailing how he severely scarred Persephone and continuously intimidates her. Afterward, she tosses Apollo into the backseat of his car, hopped in the front seat, and drove to Artemis' home. Once there, she sets him in the front seat with a note attached to his chest that read A Fury of Vengence Kicked My Ass. With the set up complete, she honked the horn and hid as the enraged Artemis came out of her home and gave her brother a second ass kicking. With her job complete, Midnight opened a rift and sent herself back to Equestria.

"You did WHAT?!" Lotus shrieks, Midnight covering her ears. Midnight had just gotten back home and finished telling Lotus about her little revenge adventure.

"You don't have to shriek you know." Midnight mumbled.

"Midnight do you understand what you've done?! You...You...You pretty much broke - no - shattered the 4th wall! You attacked a character in someone else's work!" Lotus paced around frantically. "This could change the entire story!!"

"Actually, I didn't. The story is still intact and my actions changed nothing since I simply don't exist in it." Midnight said, matter a factly and lazily flopping onto her baby blue chaise.

Lotus stopped pacing and glanced at Midnight. "What are you talking about?"

"After beating the hell out of Apollo, I made a swift exit. But before that, using my memory of the story so far, I reset it so that the events of my actions never happened. I now know waiting for a more satisfying outcome is the best option, but I simply couldn't and needed to let off some steam." Midnight scrolled through her phone, reading Strawberry Seafoam.

Lotus blinked at her, processing everything she had heard. She didn't realize how much Midnight had thought her plan through. It was honestly astounding that her calmer, shy side could have a tactical streak. Satisfied that her favorite WEBTOON hadn't been ruined, Lotus began walking out of the room.

"One more question, Middy."

"Hm?"

Lotus glanced back. "Was you revenge satisfying?"

In the mirror that faced the chaise and door to Midnight's room, Lotus saw a sly smile creep on Midnight's face. "Very...maybe next I'll deal with that irritating red eyesore, Minthe. She's interfering with a perfect blossoming relationship."
