This kind hearted Changeling name Inky, is the owner of a diary. He writes about experiences with friends and places he’s been. Some days are good, some days are bad, but most days are full of weirdness. Not every Changeling experiences this kind of stuff.
Dear Diary, Some may say that I look weird. It’s true, I DO look weird. I live in a world full of ponies, while I’m a Changeling. The thing is, I’m a renegade Changeling, who left The Hive. One things for sure, I don’t wanna feel like a threat to these ponies. So all my personal thoughts are right in here, so I welcome you, into my daily life. ————————————— Ponyville. 5:15 For me, it’s pretty normal to have ponies look at me weird. But I try to, at least, ignore it. I do have a few friends. But I’ll talk about them later. I mean, a Changeling in a world of ponies? You can’t expect somepony to not give you a weird glance. Either way, this place is more colorful and calm. I actually like to visit Twilight Sparkle. She’s a pretty great friend. Oh! Speaking of friends, I’m friends with The Mane 6 (Though Rainbow Dash gives me a hard time), King Thorax, Spike, and even the Princesses of the Sun, Moon, and Love think me as kinda a friend. But I don’t know why. ——————————- Twilight’s castle. 5:15 Back to my day! So I was just sitting on Twilight’s bed (I think it’s comfy). But for some reason I hear a large boom from down the hall. Now, ponies would come running down. But me, I peeked out of Twilight’s bedroom door and trotted to wherever the noise came from. Now let me tell you, this castle is HUGE! I mean, it looks small from outside, but NOPE! It’s LARGE!! Anyway, I see some white dust on the floor, and then I start to get worried.
“Guys?” I called, last I remember, Pinkie and Rainbow we’re gonna make a cake. But I don’t think it turned out so well.
“Guys, are you in there?” I called again. I got more and more worried. I walked to the door and use my magic to open the door. To my relief, they were fine, but to my surprise...
What is Queen’s name happened here!?” I yelled. There was cake batter everywhere, and eggs and sugar and flour and...all of that. But my real question was.. well.. HOW IN QUEEN’S NAME DID THEY MESS UP THAT BAD!!!??? I stood there in disbelief.
“Guys...no joke, HOW DID YOU MESS UP THIS BADLY!” I shouted in confusion. Pinkie was the first one to speak up.
“Well, we were making a cake for Twilight!” She tried to explain, but didn’t satisfy me.
“Yeah! So we were making a cake, and....Uh...umuh....” Rainbow tried to cover up
“ A SQUIRREL! Yeah! A squirrel came in and gained super strength and trashed the place!” Rainbow lied, with Pinkie agreeing. But there immature lies couldn’t hide from me. I let out a long sigh. I felt like I was a kid, being lied to and supposed to believe the parents. But I’m smarter than they think.
“...you guys screwed up yourselves, didn’t you..” I said plainly with a “not buying it” look. Rainbow and Pinkie sighed and gave in. “How are we supposed to clean this up?” I asked. They both had a expression exchange, and Pinkie asked “When is Twilight coming home?” Using my soul magic, I pinpointed Twilight’s soul, which pinpointed me to her location, accordingly at the market, which means I can tell what time she’ll get back by looking at her timespan of being at her location, and...wow, I didn’t realize how weird and confusing my magic is. Anyway, I checked her returning time and how much time RD and Pinkie have left until she comes back.
“So, she’ll be back at 5:25.” I answered.
“And how long will that take?” Rainbow asking nervously.
“According to the time, she’ll be back in 10 minutes.” I replied. Then RD and Pinkie started rushing to get the kitchen clean. As I stand there, just watching. After 2 minutes, an alarm startled me. I check Twilight’s return time, ONLY TO FIGURE OUT SHE JUST TELEPORTED BACK!
“Hey guys!” Twilight called. I stared in shock. I didn’t know what to do. I just stared at her. Then, I just moved out of the way.
“Uh...okay?” She said confused. I just buzzed away, only to hear the scream of “PINKIE! RAINBOW!”
I actually told the local business colt. He told us that our electricity bill was high. Supportingly in the kitchen.
“Well, you see sir I-“ Twilight was about to tell him. But I went ahead and did it for her. I just thought it be faster.
“Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie wanted to make a cake for Twilight, but ended up exploding the cake batter and it got everywhere. So I went to check and when I did it was a mess. I told them when Twilight was getting back and they rushed to cleaning. Then Twilight came back and had a looooooong lecture to not mess up her kitchen.” I explained. I actually had to catch my breath.
“I see, well, here is your electricity bill.” The business colt handed Twilight the bill. She took it, and guess what the pay was....... IT WAS 1,000 BIT’S! Apparently, whatever the did costed 1,000 bit’s. I was just dumbfounded. Twilight was irritated.
“Excuse me for a moment” Twilight excused herself. I knew exactly what she was gonna do. She was gonna blow up at Rainbow and Pinkie.
“I’ll pay” I sighed. I gave him the bit’s and he left. After he left, I got startled by Twilight’ scream. I snickered
“Knew it”. I said. You know. King Thorax called me a couple minutes ago to see I was doing.
“I’m doing good. But, I did have to pay for a electricity bill so..” All I heard on the other line was a gasp.
“What? Why?” Thorax asked. I told him the whole story. That’s all I could really do. I’m not a good lier. Anyways, we got a good laugh out of it, and we can never forget about it. THAT’S how funny it was. Now I gotta go before Starlight forces me to the meeting Twilight has with the Mane 6. So, I’ll see you later. Bye!
Dear Diary, I woke up bright and early today. Even though I didn’t want getting up. I actually wanted to see how Rainbow was doing in the Wonderbolts. It’s actually in the sky in Cloudsale.
“Wait....” I thought. What if I can’t stand on the clouds? Well, that question we’ll be solved when I get to them. ———————————— Cloudsale.10:24 I CAN ACTUALLY STAND ON CLOUDS!! It’s so cool!!! And soooo soft. I actually decided to lay on my back with my hooves in the air. I’m sorry! It’s amazingly soft! But I got embarrassed by Rainbow Dash.
“Uh...What the hay are you doing, Inky?” I stared in embarrassment. I jumped up and blushed a lot.
“Um...ehehe?” I nervously laughed. Rainbow ignored it, and asked “Why are you here? I have a Wonderbolts session.”
“Well, I just wanted to see how you were doing with it.” I replied. Rainbow nodded. She understood. But then I heard a voice.
“Hey! Dash! Come on!” The voice called. I looked and there was a pony with a orange and yellow mane which was spiked up.
“Oh! Comin’! See you later, Inks.” Rainbow said before she left. So I was left to explore. But for some reason, my ears started ringing. “Owww! What the-“ I thought. Then I realized that a loud whistle just blown. Well, it was loud alright. That hurt my ears.
“Hey...what are they doing?” I thought. All I heard was that whistle and that pony again with more ponies. I flew over there to see what was happening. Apparently, they were having a little spin test. I watched from behind because I didn’t wanna get noticed.
“Hey Changeling?” A new voice called my name, I turned and I saw a white pony with swifted white and blue hair. She looked young. She said her name was Vapor Trail.
“Are you waiting for the spin test? Are you even a Wonderbolt?” She asked. Of course, I had to answer.
“W-Well...um...I was just watching.” I replied. She believed me, and I moved over so she could get in line. I was amazed when I saw the first Pegasus go on the spin test thing. It was cool! So, they started to spin, then they got launched and they were supposed to fly back. It looked fun. But I wasn’t a Wonderbolt.
“Hey Rainbow Dash! That looks cool!” I told her. She looked surprised.
“Well, some Pegasi think it’s nauseating” she told me back. I was dumbfounded, but I understood after a second.
“Hey...while I have a break....wanna race?” Rainbow competitionly asked. I did think that would be fun, but tiring. But I wanted too anyway.
“Sure, let’s do it!” I agreed. But I wasn’t ready for how fast she was gonna count.
“Ok!123GO!” She said fastly. She flew off. Then I took off. She was far ahead, but I was catching up. But, I heard someone yelling “SAVE RAINBOW DASH FORM THR CHANGELING!” Me and Rainbow stopped.
“Um...who was that?” I nervously asked. She looked around and went “Oh no...Spitfire..”
“Wait...Who?” I asked. Then I saw a Pegasi flying toward us. I think she was charging at me!
“Spitfire! Stop!” Rainbow yelled to her. I was so relieved that Spitfire didn’t hit me, but confused why Rainbow Dash blocked me. They had a little argument, while I flew down to the ground. I decided to call Twilight to tell her, but hung up before she could answer. It just felt childish.
“Nevermind..” I quietly said to myself. Rainbow came down and said we could continue are race. I said OK. So we went on for a while. Rainbow won 4 rounds, and I won 2. I didn’t care though, it was fun. Anyway, Rainbow went back to her Wonderbolt session. But then Thorax called me. He said to meet me at Twilight’s Castle. I was gonna come back tomorrow. ————————————— Back at Cloudsale. 10:46 Today was a Wonderbolt show. Everyone was there. The mane 6, except Rainbow, because she was performing. Starlight came, Spike came, and even Thorax made the time to come, you know...being the king and all. This was gonna be exciting. But, for some reason, one of the Wonderbolts were gone. They needed every Wonderbolt for the show. They needed a replacement.
“Oh Sweet Celestia!” Rarity said. Twilight thought there was only a few people in the group. There weren’t too many Pegasi. So there were only a few options. “Fluttershy, Twilight, Thorax, Me, of any other Pegasi there.”
“Hmmm....You two.” Spitfire pointed at Thorax and Me. Even though one Wonderbolt was gone, she picked us both. I thought this was gonna be interesting.
“Well...okay? Come on.” Thorax and I got up and flew toward the Wonderbolts. I was so glad I raced Rainbow so I had some practice. Thorax, on the other hoof, was just doing his job as king. I don’t know how well he’ll do. This is honestly kinda uncomfortable, but we had too. I mean, this is the Wonderbolt show, we gotta impress the audience.
“You ready?” Thorax whispered. I nodded. After a couple seconds, we started to fly. This was a lot of exercise, but it was fun. Especially when we went really fast. My wings never buzzed so fast in my life. I did a little spin while I was flying. Thorax was just looking straight ahead, super focused.
“Woo!” I was having a lot of fun! This was extremely tiring though, but worth it. After a couple tricks, the show ended. Everyone was cheering. Me and Thorax went track to the others.
“Well, that was fun.” Thorax said. I nodded, not out of breath. Without me knowing, Rainbow Dash pounced on me!
“Ow! What the hay!” I said in surprise. Rainbow was more happy than normal.
“You were amazing, even for Changelings.” She applauded, clapping her hooves.
“Thank you, Rainbow Dash.” Thorax thanked. As we went back home. I glanced back to the Wonderbolts. I buzzed over to them.
“Hey, um... thanks for letting me and Thorax help the Wonderbolts.” I thanked. Spitfire nodded.
“Well, I did a lot of that buzzing.” Spitfire said. I nodding, giggling a bit. I flew back to the others. I think this was a amazing, yet eventful day. Well, gotta go. Bye!
Dear Diary, To be honest, I am so confused. Why? Well, it all started when Twilight gave a little necklace that had my soul on it. Now you probably don’t know this, but my soul contains seven colors. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, L.Blue, Blue, and Purple. They all mean certain things. But I never got to figure out how it worked. But, I guess this necklace is allowing my experience to it, and to be honest..I’m kinda nervous. ————————————- Fluttershy’s Cottage.11:54
“So, why did you come here?” Fluttershy asked. I had my head down.
“I mean, I just thought I took relax here for a while before I head to Zecora.” I replied. She nodded. I really just felt tired.
“It that your necklace?” She pointed to it. I covered it with my hoof.
“Well..Uh..yeah.” I mumbled. Fluttershy started to think of something. But then, she had a idea.
“How about you go to Rarity, she’s in to gems, she could probably-“ She was about finish. But I gave her a quizzical look.
“-help you with...Uh...your necklace problem.” She gave a nervous smile. Maybe she could help, but she’s about fashion. But, I gave a shot anyway. ————————— Rarity’s Shop. 11:58 She was selling her products, as always. After one of her customers. She turned to me.
“So, this necklace...is it bothering you?” She asked. I nodded.
“I keep seeing these....things. It’s been creeping me out.” I replied. She nodded and put the heart piece on her hoof. It made me feel uncomfortable.
“I will admit, this looks quite nice. It wouldn’t bother you if I..” She tried taking it off me. I slapped her hoof to get her hoof away.
“Ok! I won’t touch.” She kinda moves back.
“Sorry... you see what I mean. I would normally be fine with you taking it off, but I felt like you can’t take it off.” I said. She gave me a look. Then another customer came in and yelled “Changeling!”
“Don’t worry about him, he doesn’t know you well like me and your other friends.” She reassured. I nodded and flew off.
“Bye Rarity!” I left. So far, no help. Maybe Rainbow could take a look. ——————————— Cloudsale. 12:03
“Hmmmm.... are you sure you’ve been seeing creepo’s spirits?” She questioned. I nodded.
“Maybe just some tick and puberty.” She answered.
“Here, let me take a look at this.” She held the heart piece. It, once again, made me feel uncomfortable.
“Dude...I have a idea!” She got an idea.
“Well, what’s your idea?” I asked.
“Well, maybe if I take that off, you’ll be normal. So, let me take this off.” That made me freak out. I slapped her hoof and hissed. For some reason, I felt like this was mine. But I really wanted it off, but something...no..somePONY wouldn’t let me.
“Woah, chill! Just let me-“ I hissed again. This time, getting up and standing in attack position.
“Just let me-“ I hissed one last time, then I felt some sorta magic. A Orange boxing glove appeared beside me and flew at Rainbow, hitting her. I gasped, and just like that, the glove disappeared.
“O-oh dear Queen, I-I’m so sorry!” I apologized. Her face had a bruise on it. I felt so bad.
“Nah, it’s fine, but that was cool!” She said, I thought she was gonna be mad. But, she was fine.
“Dude, you should do that to-“ She saying something, but I flew off, feeling bad. ————————————— Twilight’s Castle. 12:16
“You gotta help him!” I knew that was Thorax’s voice. Spike was trying to calm him down.
“Woah, woah, WOAH! Calm down, buddy!” Spike tried, but it didn’t work.
“Calm down? How am I supposed to when Inky isn’t acting like himself!? Explain that!!” Thorax didn’t sound to happy. Twilight was trying too.
“He got hissy when Pharynx tried making him...you know what...it was a child thing for me.” He didn’t wanna talk about.
“Let me guess, he was trying to get him to hit himself?” Spike snickered. Thorax didn’t think that funny. I sat right by them. As I thought things couldn’t get weirder. I heard a voices.
”Hey, Inky!”it said. I turned to see a yellow spirit. Making eye contact. It creeped me out.
”You haven’t met us, and besides, being scared is kinda, you know, rude to us.”The green spirit said. I was fascinated. But nervous. Are they gonna hurt me? But, the rest of our talk. They never seemed like a threat
“You know, I’m getting used to you guys.” I said looking at all off them.
”Yeah, we are pretty cool.” I laughed at that. Thorax, Spike, and Twilight were still talking.
”Are they done yet?”The purple spirit asked. I shook my head, meaning no.
“Wait...I don’t know what your names are. Yeah, you know my name,but what are your names?” I asked, feeling kinda rude. So, let me give you a list, Diary.
Red-Determination Orange-Bravery Yellow-Justice Green-Kindness L.Blue-Patience Blue-Integrity Purple-Perseverance. They are basically my soul spirits. Well, that what I like to call them.
“Inky? Do you feel right?” Thorax asked, nervously. I nodded.
“Really? Let’s test” Spike was slowly coming over to take off my necklace. I didn’t slap his claw, nor did I hiss. I felt normal again! But, what if that mean’t I couldn’t see my soul spirits again? It was took off, and everyone was relieved I didn’t snap.
“I gotta go somewhere real fast.” I excused. In the kitchen, I called to Bravery. I was so happy to see him. I guess the necklace help me endure my abilities. I was happy that I could see all of my soul spirits again. They’re like my new and forever friends.
”Let’s not tell your friends that we’re in your head, ok?” Red said. I promised to not tell them. We all had our little chat and Spike gave my necklace back.
“Let’s go to the hive, ok Inky?” Thorax asked. I nodded. As we flew off, I looked at my soul spirits. I knew they were gonna be stuck with me for my entire life
Dear Diary, Rainbow has lost it. She keeps crashing into stuff. Once, she crashed into Twilight’s bookshelf and got the books all over Twilight. Then, she messed up Applejack’s barn roof. Never in history have I seen something like this. One time, I had a wing ache. I decided, she probably needs to go to the hospital. ——————————————- Hospital. 12:31
“Ms. Dash, have you been having flying issues?” The doctor asked. She nodded. I was starting to get worried. What if she didn’t get better?
”Is somethin’ wrong?”, Justice asked. I shook my head.
“I’m worried about Rainbow. She’s been having wing problems for 2 weeks!” I worry.
”Don’t worry, she’ll be fine”, Kindness said. But that didn’t help.
“Yeah, but...what if she won’t?” I asked. There was silence.
”Look, if she won’t be, we’ll fix her”, Justice reassured. I nodded.
“-Ahem-, Mr. Black?” The doctor was talking to me? Well, this was embarrassing.
“Oh, um... yeah?”
“Have you experienced this before?” He asked. I nodded. The doctor sighed.
“This is worse than I have thought.” He said, which made me worried.
“W-What...what’s wrong!?” I questioned. He turned to Rainbow, and to me.
“She has a broken wing, and it won’t heal until 2 weeks.” He replied. Rainbow gasped, and I stared with shock.
“S-s-She has a broken wing!? H-h-How? W-why-“ I stuttered. He shushed me.
“She has been doing to much extreme flying, is She in a certain program?”
“W-well..um...yeah. S-She’s a Wonderbolt.” I said. The doctor nodded.
“Well, until her wing is healed, she will not be able to participate in her Wonderbolt sessions or shows.” He said. That didn’t really nag me. It really, really nagged Rainbow though.
“Nooooooo!” She dramatically. This is gonna be a bad time. ______________________________________ Twilight’s School. 12:47 “Hmmm, Yona confused.” Yona said confused. Everyone was just staring at my misery. Gallus just patted my head. Smolder stared at me. I didn’t say anything.
“So...Rainbow has a broken wing, and she can’t participate in any flying activities. How can she teach us our parkour lesson. Some of us need to fly.” Ocellus questioned. I moaned in misery.
“I...I don’t know.” I moaned even more. I sat up and took a breath.
“Maybe...we need a substitute?” Silverstream suggested. Everyone thought that be pretty well. But WHO would be the substitute.
“Maybe, Twilight or Fluttershy or-“ Sandbar was suggesting. Gallus shut him up for a minute. He told him that they already have classes to teach.
“Well, we’ll have to figure it out.” Smolder said. I just looked down. Then, Gaster started to give me a talkdown.
”Rainbow Dash....the..competitive, annoying one, correct? Well, why do we care about her? She would only slow us down. She may be a element, but she would be useless to us and her friends, they just don’t see it. There’s only a matter of time before her friends get annoyed by her, and she would be replaced. We could even destroy her. She’d be THAT useless. We shouldn’t, or WOULDN’T care at all. Actually, we could get a head start of this. All we need to do is-. ” He was talking for too long. I slammed my hoof on the ground. Everyone was either shocked, or concerned. Ocellus was the first to speak up.
“Um...are you ok, you’ve been quiet for a while. Even when we tried to get your attention, you didn’t show any conscious.” She stated. I was in embarrassment and nervousness. I got up and flew away. ___________________________ 2 weeks later... Whatever Gaster said to me, stuck to me for a long time. But a good thing is, that Rainbow’s wing got better. I was happy, but Gaster’s saying was stuck to me and the only way to let go is to tell someone I could trust.
“Hey Inky. You ok?” Thorax said. Everyone was there to make sure Rainbow’s wing was actually healed. I looked around, nodding. He gave me a look of concern.
“Inky, We all know when you’re upset. If there’s anything you want to say-“ I stopped him.
“Actually, I wanted to say something to all of you.” I said. Everyone looked my way. I wanted to say never-mind, but I didn’t want the thing Gaster said to bug me anymore. So I took a deep breath, and confessed, but I didn’t mention Gaster. I promised not to mention any of the spirits I see.
“So, I..Uh...met someone..and they were talking about...Rainbow Dash.” I said. Everyone looked at Rainbow.
“This pony was..um...saying that Rainbow would get annoying to....her friends, and said she would be replaced. Saying that, with my powers, we could’ve...destroyed her.” I paused. Rainbow gave me a confused look. I continued.
“A-And that...we could a head start on it...but when they were gonna tell me, I told him to leave. H-He did, so there’s no point to find them. It’s been..Uh..bugging me and-“
“Wait! So, you’re saying that this pony that Rainbow Dash wouldn’t be important in the future and said you and the pony could destroy her, it bugged you, and you didn’t tell us sooner.” Thorax revised. I nodded, and looked down.
“I-I just thought, Y-You all wouldn’t believe me and turn on me! I-I didn’t want that, so I didn’t tell you. It stuck to me, and it grew stronger everyone second I didn’t tell you. I-I’m sorry. I-“ Thorax put his hoof on my head. He put his other hoof around me and pulled me toward him.
“Inky, I want you to know that everytime you hide something, it makes you feel guilty. You have me, and the others to talk to. Can you please, tell us something like that.” He said. Rainbow flew over and said, “Yeah, if they were still here, I’d totally prove him wrong.” I laughed at that. I thought for a second and giggled.
“So, uh...remember we were at Celestia’s castle and someone ate her cake?” I asked. Twilight nodded fast.
“She NEVER got over it yet.” She said.
“Well...it was my pet, Gasty.” I blushed. The mane 6 gasped. Thorax was surprised. I didn’t tell them because it was embarrassing.
“So...your PET ate it?! I got accused for NOTHING!?” Pinkie yelled.
“Hey! He had a taste for cake!” I defended.
“Wait-Ocellus told me something like that. She said that Iate it.” Thorax said. I started laughing. I kinda had a laugh like Chrysalis’s.
“Seriously? Ocellus went there one time and found Celestia writing in a scroll, it was going to you. She read it and must’ve thought it was YOU!” I laughed hard. Thorax looked offended.
“What-I-Well-I’d never Celestia’s cake! Sure, I went there one time and took a little nibble but-“ He was interrupted by my hard laughter. Thorax blushed and picked me up. I giggled a bit and said, “ahh, uh-huh?” Our faces came close.
“Don’t. Tell. Her.” He said, super serious. I still giggled a little, but I agreed.
“Oh! I also met to tell Twilight that Gasty ate your favorite book pages.” I said. She gasped.
“WHAT!?!?” She yelled. I started laughing again. I had a laughing fit, before I calmed down and fell asleep.
