> A Game of Truth or Dare > by Sunset Awesomness17 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > I Dare You To...... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "That was sooooooo AWESOME!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. She was practically vibrating with so much energy, you would have thought she was Pinkie Pie for a moment. The rainbow-haired athlete made it known just how cool the event that just took place not even two hours ago was. The group had just finished vanquishing the Dazzling with their singing and were cleaning up the stage from all the food and stuff that was thrown on stage when the Sirens where defeated, in which the students of Cantorlot High used as bullets to hit them with. Now, they putting away the instruments and the equipment for the night. "Dugh! We know Dash!" Applejack said back, already annoyed by Rainbows constant reminder every few minutes. "we get it!" She pulled a rope, closing the curtains on the stage. Rainbow just stood there on stage watching the others clean up. "It was!" "Darling, I must agree with Rainbow here. That was quite the ending." Rarity chimed in, as she and Fluttery finished moping the floor. She put the mop away and turned back to her friends. "You all just looked fabulous in those outfits I made! And I---" She was interrupted by a loud scream from Pinkie Pie. "This calls for a party! Slumber party at my house!" She jumped from seemingly out of nowhere, somehow managing to not break a leg. "Indeed!" "Awesome!" "Woowee!" Sunset Shimmer joined them as well, her guitar strapped over her shoulder and went to stand by Fluttershy. She had her biker's helmet held in the same hand. She extended her other hand to Fluttershy and handed her something small. "Hey Fluttershy, I found your barrette on the ground." "O-oh. Thank you." She smiled at Sunset and took the barrette from her. She placed back in her hair. Sunset was about to say something in return but had her wind knocked right out of her as Pinkie Pie trapped her in the biggest bone-crushing hug she has ever had. “Yay Sunny! We’re going to have a slumber party at my house, and you just have to come!” Pinkie said. Sunset’s eyes went wide as she felt her back pop loudly. She winced as she felt the pain that came afterwards, but then let out a sigh of relief for although it did hurt like hell, she needed it anyways. “Pinkie Pie, darling I think she needs to breathe, don’t you?” Rarity said. “Oops!” Pinkie released Sunset, who put down her guitar and helmet and stretched out her back to let out another satisfying, audible pop. “Don’t worry about it, I needed that popped for a while now anyways, thank you.” Sunset smiled back at her as she picked her stuff back up. “No problem, Sunny! So are you coming?!” Pinkie questioned, she gave a smile, but the look in her eyes she was giving Sunset was ‘DONT YOU DARE SAY NO’. Sunset gave a nervous laugh. She was planning on taking a relaxing evening at the spa, by herself for the night, but she wasn’t about to voice that. She thought about something funny to make herself smile. She thought about how Rainbow lost to Applejack on a video game, and managed to give a genuine smile. “Sure, I’ll come.” She said with ease. Pinkie squealed at that and pulled Sunset back into another tight hug. She let go and looked at the others. “Let’s party!!! Meet you guys at my place in an hour!” Then she disappeared off to the direction of her house, which wasn’t far from the school. Sunset looked at the others who shrugged. “Well, I’ll race you guys to Pinkie’s! I just got to tell Dad I won’t be home tonight. See ya!” Rainbow said as she raced of the stairs, phone already pressed against her ear. Applejack rolled her eyes and looked at the remaining girls. “Anyone need a ride?” The question was genuine, but her eyes went towards Fluttershy. “Oh.....um, I’m going with Sunset.” Fluttershy replies. All of the girls eyes went wide, including Sunset’s. “W-What?” She said under her breathe, it was not meant to sound rude or anything, but she was a little shocked herself. “I-if that’s okay with you, that is.” Fluttershy told her. Sunset recovered from her shock. “Oh, no I don’t mind. Just wasn’t expecting it.” She giggled. Then she adopted a more serious look. “But are you sure?” Fluttershy looked at the ground for a moment, then back at Sunset. “Mhm.” She nodded. Sunset nodded at that and shifted her guitar to her other shoulder, she held her helmet on the other hand and walked back behind the certain to grab her bag (her backpack). “Alright then, let’s go!” She smiled. Fluttershy actually squealed excitedly, surprising Applejack and Rarity who were looking at her with surprise still on their faces. Sunset giggled at the shy girl’s reaction and started off the stage. “A-are you sure, Darling?” Rarity asked Fluttershy as she started to follow Sunset. “Yeah, don’t those things scare yah?” Applejack said. Fluttershy turned to face them and smiled. “Oh, um.....well....yeah.” She admitted. “But it seems fun, so....” She looked back to Sunset who was waiting for her at the bottom of the stage. “Yeah...I’m sure.” She smiled and hurried up to her. Rarity and Applejack both looked at each other with wide eyes, they had never seen the girl so excited for anything. They shrugged and went off on their separate ways to meet at Pinkie’s place. As they climbed down the stage, they heard a motorcycle passing by. They looked up to see Sunset and Fluttershy zooming off on her motorcycle, ‘Black Beauty’ as Sunset called it. Their jaws dropped as they heard Fluttershy shout a loud but quiet, “Woohoo!” as she clinged onto Sunset’s midsection. They caught a glimps of her huge smile before the motorcycle slowed down a little, and proceeded onto the highway in a normal speed. _____________________________________________ As Sunset waited for Fluttershy to get off the stage, she smiled to herself, thinking of how she would have thought Fluttershy to be the last to want a ride on a motorcycle, let alone with her. Not that she wasn’t a good driver, but considering her past deeds and the type of person she is, and let’s not forget the fact that she has that bad girl vibe on her, which she vowed to not admit the fact that she loves to be a little reckless to her friends, but it just was not something she ever thought would be a possibility. At least not now. She saw Fluttershy exchange a few words to Rarity and Applejack that she couldn’t catch, but the look on their faces was all that she needed to know what kind of chat they were having. They could not believe it either, which made her end up having to hide another laugh under her hand as Fluttershy half walked, half ran to up her. “Ready to go?” Sunset inquired. “Oh, um, yes.” Fluttershy said. A nervous smile appeared for a few moments as if she was starting to rethink her choice, but she shook her head and smiled back up at Sunset with a determined glint in her eyes. Sunset nodded and continued down to the parking lot where her motorcycle was. “Alright then, let’s go.” Sunset was glad that she kept her old helmet with her at all times. She had planned to give it to the goodwill or something, but she couldn’t really find it in her heart to part from the thing. She looked at Fluttershy. “I have another helmet, but it’s in my locker. Mind waiting here while I go get it? The doors are still open since Luna had to come back for some paperwork and the janitor is still out.” She said as she pointed her eyes to the janitor’s vehicle. Fluttershy’s eyes widen. “Uh, I’ll go with you.” She said as she looked around as if to be sure no one else was around. “Please.” “Oh, um, okay sure.” Sunset smiled at her and headed towards the school. They got to her locker, she dug into her box of stuff and pulled out the helmet. It was a black with a magenta stripe on the side of it, and flames around the edges of it. She handed it to Fluttershy. They walked down the hall and passed by the janitor. He was an interestingly weird old man, but no one really questioned much about him. He was tall and never really spoke much. He took a liking to Sunset however and waved when he saw her before he continued on with his work. Both girls exchanged looks and continued on their way back to the motorcycle. When they got to the bike, Sunset swung her leg over and looked back to Fluttershy. “Just make sure to keep your arms secured around my waist, kay?” Sunset asked. Fluttershy followed Sunset’s lead and swung her leg over the bike and sat behind Sunset. “Okay.” Fluttershy replied. She put her arms around Sunset’s waist. But then Sunset got off of the bike and took her guitar case and her leather jacket off. She handed Fluttershy the jacket and put the guitar case over Fluttershy’s shoulder. “It’s cold tonight, so you’ll need that. And I can’t have my guitar over my shoulder, so you have to hold it for me.” "Oh, um okay." Fluttershy responded. Sunset got back on the motorcycle and wrapped Fluttershy’s arms around her waist. She looked over her shoulder, “Ready?” Fluttershy thought for a moment, and gave an audible gulp. She looked at the motorcycle then back at Sunset. “I-It is safe right?” Sunset smiled at her. “I wouldn’t let you ride it if I didn’t think it was safe Fluttershy.” She assured her. Fluttershy relaxed at that and gave her a small smile. “Okay.” She nodded. Sunset then started up her bike and slowly eased out of the parking space. She felt Fluttershy’s grip tighten around her as she picked up a little bit of speed and they were off. As they almost off to the highway, she felt Fluttershy relax her grip a little. “Woohoo!” She shouted in a loud but somehow quiet voice. Sunset laughed. She continued down the road, the two girls enjoying the cool winds that whipped against their faces as they disappear into the night. _________________________ They soon arrived at Pinkie’s house. As Sunset slowed to park near the house, she saw Rainbow, Rarity, and Applejack were already there. Rainbow’s mouth fell open when she saw Fluttershy behind Sunset. “Fluttershy?!” She almost shouted. She looked to Sunset then back at Fluttershy. Fluttershy turned to face her. “O-oh, h-h-hi Rainbow.” She tightened her grip around Sunset. Sunset looked at Fluttershy and then got off of the bike. Fluttershy let go of her long enough to get off of the bike and then she threw herself onto Sunset. “Th-Thank you so much!” She said to Sunset in a loud whisper that could only be heard by her. They walked over to where the others were on the front porch. Sunset knocked on the door, without any second thought as she looked at Fluttershy and smiled. “I’m glad you enjoyed it.” Rainbow opened her mouth, but then Pinkie Pie opened the to her house. Sunset turned just in time to get a face full of confetti as it shot out of the door. “Ah!” She gave a loud shreak as she closed her eyes and attempted to bat the tiny pieces of paper out of her face. She somehow managed to get some inside her mouth and she immediately spat them out right into Pinkie’s face. “Oh! Oh my gosh! I am so Sorry, Pinkie Pie.” She slapped a hand to her mouth, her eyes wide, a light blush spreading across her cheeks. She dug for a clean handkerchief that was in her jacket that Fluttershy still had on, and gave it to Pinkie. She then faced away from the group and continued to spit out a few more pieces papers. Rainbow laughed her head off as Pinkie wipes her face and smiled at Sunset, unaffected by what just happened. “It’s okay! Come on in!” She grabbed Sunset’s arm as she stood back up from her little episode, and yanked her inside. The others followed in behind. There was candy, soda, chips, and dips on the kitchen table, and the smell of cupcakes in the oven could be smelt as the girls walked into the living room. “So whose ready for some Truth or Dare?!” Pinkie asked her friends as they got themselves comfortable. A wicked smile spread across her face. Rarity sat in a love seat on the far side of the room. Applejack and Rainbow sat on the floor and Fluttershy and Sunset took the couch. Fluttershy took off Sunset’s jacket and gave it to Sunset who got up and set it over a chair in the kitchen. Her friends all groaned. All except Rainbow Dash. “Ah yeah!” She said rubbing her hands together. There was a ding that went off, and Pinkie rushed and pulled out a batch of fresh cookies out of the oven. She looked at her friends. “Who wants pizza?” There was a chorus of agreements and Pinkie grabbed her phone and ordered three pizzas. “Okay, while we wait for that to get here..... Who wants to go first?!” The girls looked at each other not wanting to go first. But before anyone could say anything, Rainbow stood up. “Me! I’ll go!” She said, as she grinned widely. She looked at Applejack then back at Pinkie. “Also, Pink, throw me a Sprite will ya?” Pinkie got a cold soda from the fridge and tossed it to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow’s smiled grew as she caught the can of soda. “Okay, truth or dare, AJ?” She asked. “Truth.” Applejack replies. “Ugh! That’s so lame!” “Ah said truth.” “Fine.” Her smiled returned. “Is it true that you kissed your cousin?” All eyes shot towards Applejack as she she blushed. “Wat?! Ah did not!” Applejack glared at Rainbow. Rainbow laughed. “That’s not what the students at school say.” “Well it ain’t true!” Rarity and Sunset giggled as they watch Applejack glare at Rainbow. “Haha! Okay, okay I’ll go next!” Pinkie said. She looked at Fluttershy. “Fluttershyyyyy, truth or dare?” Fluttershy’s eyes went wide as she looked back at Pinkie. She took a deep breath and scooted closer to Sunset. “U-uh, um, truth?” It was in the form of a question but it didn’t matter. Pinkie took a sip of her root beer and smiled at Fluttershy. “Are you Fluttershee? Heehee!” Pinkie giggled. Fluttershy glared at Pinkie Pie. “Um, no. What? Why?” She made a ticking sound with her lips. “Ugh, no. I don’t know why Siri calls me that! I keep telling her, ITS FLUTTERSHY! Not FLUTTERSHEE!” She said, raising her voice as she did. Everyone looked at her with wide eyes before bursting out laughing. “W-Well, um she does!” Fluttershy said boldly. “BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” Rainbow rolled on the floor holding her stomach, while AJ tried to hide her laugh behind her hand. “Yeah why.....haha.....does sheeehehehe.....call...... you that?” Rainbow asked between laughs. “Um, well, I don’t know.” Fluttershy said quietly. Then she stood up, looked to the ceiling. “I AM NOT FLUTTERSHEE!” She grabbed her phone and turned it on. “Siri, um......w-what’s my name?” “Are you asking me? Fluttershee?” The device responded. Fluttershy glared at the phone. “Uh! Um, No. Siri, my name is Fluttershy! Not Fluttershee! “I do not understand Fluttershee” “What? Um, okay. Siri, What do you not understand?” Fluttershy asked the device. “I do not know what you mean.” It pauses and then,” Fluttershee.” Everyone kept on laughing, AJ joining Rainbow rolling on the floor. Pinkie was holding her sides, Rarity was trying hard not to snort (because a lady does not snort according to her.) and Sunset, was actually snorting so hard, she couldn’t help it. “Ugh! Siri, we’ve talked about this!” Fluttershy said to the device. “I don’t know what you mean, Fluttershee.” “You-you know what? I’m not going to argue with you. I’m just going to ignore you.” Fluttershy said. She went to turn it off but then.... “Okay, Fluttershee.” Fluttershy glared at the phone in her hand and turned it off. She huffed as she sat onto the coffee table next to the couch. Pinkie wiped tears from her eyes. “Aha! Aha! Hahahahaaaa! Okay, Fluttershy......heehee......it’s your turn ask someone......truth or dare! Ahahaha!” Pinkie laughed. Fluttershy looked at all of her friends and her eyes landed on Sunset. “O-okay. Um.........okay, Sunset, uh truth or dare?” She said in a quiet voice. Sunset fanned herself as she was still laughing. When she got a hold of herself she finally answered her in a breathless tone. “Dare.” Fluttershy nodded, and thought before she smiled back at Sunset. “Um, okay, I dare you to....um.....let Rainbow Dash text Flash Sentry.” Sunset’s smile dropped and her eyes went wide. “And she can’t tell him that it’s her.” Sunset looked at her phone on the charger. “It’s.....dead.” She lied. Her friends gave her unconvinced looks, Rainbow and Rarity were looking at her with amusement. Pinkie went over to her phone. “Nope, it’s almost full battery here.” Sunset facepalmed. But she was not about to lose a dare. “Fine.” She said through gritted teeth. She got up, unlocked her phone, she hugged it to her chest so that they couldn’t see her wallpaper, tapped on it for a few moments and then gave it to Rainbow. Rainbow grinned but then frowned when she saw that the chat was blank. “Wait a minute, why is it blank?” Sunset laughed. “Oh no reason. Just thought it’d be good to have a clean message box.” She crossed her arms and glared at Rainbow. Rainbow groaned. “Oh you’re no fun!” But then a wicked grin quickly formed on her face as she looked up at Sunset. Then she took the phone and started to tap rapidly onto the device. Sunset looked back at her, worry naming at her stomach as she heard the send button sound go off. Rainbow handed her the phone back which Sunset snatched away from her as soon as she had the chance. She looked down and gasped at the message. Hey Booger bear, want to go out? Sunset’s cheeks burned as she read the message over and over. Panick was going through her body. She did not like Flash in that way anymore and she even hated him. “Well, what does it say darling?” Rarity asked. Sunset gulped and read out loud. “Hey.....” She faked gagged on as she got to the next word. “B-booger bear, Ugh!” She stick her tongue out in disgust before she continued, “want to go out tonight?” The girls snickered at her reaction. Then Sunset felt a vibration and the song, ‘I don’t Fuck With You’, her ringtone for Flash went off. Her blush darkened as her friends all stopped laughing and looked up at her with wide eyes. Rainbow Dash busted out laughing again. “Bwaaahahahahaaa! Damn, Sunset.” Sunset just rolled her eyes at her. “Well? Answer it, Sunny! Put it on speaker!” Pinkie said. Oblivious to Sunset’s irritation or to everything else for that matter. She looked down, she did not want to, but she really had no other choice so she answered the phone. “Hey......” She looked up as she said the next word, as she forced it out of her mouth. “...Flaaash.” “Hey baby, you decided to come running back to me huh?” “What? No.” Sunset replyed, rolling her eyes again. Flash laughed. “Hehe, really? That’s not what your text says. You don’t need to be so shy. I know that I’m irresistible and I know how you love to.......horse around.” He said. “Oh! You’re a fucking ass!” Sunset growled. “Yeah, bet you’d like to get some.” He laughed. Sunset's face went red, Alright, he wants to play that game? Fine, I can play that too. She thought as a horrible, evil grin crossed her features. She licked her lips and bit her bottom lip. “Oh?” She laughed. “Maybe so, but not from you.” The line was silent for a moment. Then there was laughter. “Hahaha, you have always been such a kidder, Sunset. You can deny it all you want but I know you. You’re so fucking desperate that you want to come over.” “Pfft! Oh that? Ah, yeah that was a dare.” She rolled her eyes. “What makes you think I’d come running back to you? Youre nothing but a fuck boy.” “Mhm, whatever. That’s what you say.” He replies. “Alright well, I got to go, but it was nice talking to you.” She said in a heavy sarcastic tone that was dripping with fake sweetness. “Oh! And, uh, by the way, I sent it.” “What? What are you.....?” There was a silence before he responded. “Fuck you, bitch!” “Thank you, but no thanks!” She hung up the phone and looked up to see her friends looking at her with a variety of shock and amusement. “Well that was quite interesting.” Rarity commented. Rainbow snickered, “Yeah.” Before they could say any more, she spoke fist. “Okay, whose turn is it?” She asked in a irritable tone. She plugged her phone back in and layed on the floor and stretched herself out. She let out a sigh of content as she relaxed with her arms and legs spread wide, closing her eyes. “Oh, It’s your turn to ask, Sunny!” Pinkie said. Sunset stretched again before she moved to her side and rested her face on her first. She looked to Pinkie Pie. “Truth or Dare Pinkie?” “Dare.” Pinkie replied confidently. Sunset thought. Then she smiled. “Okay Pinkie. I dare you to eat a cupcake.” Pinkie gave her a look that said ‘what?’ Before Sunset proceeded. “Without frosting.” Pinkie gasped. Her eyes practically bulging out of their sockets. “I don’t have any cupcakes not frosted though.” She said. Sunset smiled at her. “Oh?” She looked up at the cupcakes on the table. She then got up and went over to the sink to wash her hands. She dried them off and then picked up a cupcake and used her finger to scrap off the frosting. She tried to lick it off her finger at first, but then thought better of it and wiped it off with a napkin. When she finally made the pastry bare, she walked over to Pinkie Pie and handed it to her. “Here you go.” Pinkie eyed the cupcake and glared at it, sticking her tongue out at it in disgust. “Please! Don’t make me do it!” She begged. “It’s so.......plain.” She shuddered. As the mere thought made her sick. Sunset laughed at that. “Sorry Pinkie, you chose dare, you have to do it. Pinkie pursed her lips, and then took the cupcake. She looked at it, then at Sunset, then back at the unfrosted pastry. She looked back at Sunset one last time whimpering as she brought the cupcake to her mouth. She kept her eyes on Sunset, not daring herself to even look at the cupcake. Then she shoved it into her mouth in one fluid movement and chewed. She immediately wanted to spit it out but she forced it in as she chewed. Her eyes never left Sunset’s, and she made sure to chew with her mouth open and to make it as unpleasant for Sunset as it was for her. She smiled in satisfaction when she saw Sunset try to look away in desgust, but she quickly moved in front of her, forcing her to watch Pinkie eat with her mouth open. Sunset’s eyes water as she tried to hold in her breakfast. She was glad that she skipped lunch. She fought hard to keep from puking as she watched Pinkie complete her dare, regretting even giving her the dare. She closed her eyes for a moment to control herself. When she opened them, she saw Pinkie up in her face. Pinkie burped right into her face just as Sunset took in a breath of air. Sunset’s eyes went wide as she moved away from Pinkie and slapped a hand to her mouth. Her cheeks bulged for a moment before she forced her contents back down again. “Awww, what’s the matter, Sunny? Are you okay?” Pinkie asked in a wicked smile. Sunset looked back at her. “Okay, I get it, no more unfrosted treats!” Pinkie giggle and then burped again, fanning it to Sunset. “Ever.” Sunset added, turning away as she got another whiff of the putrid smell. Her friends laughed at the display of the two. Especially Sunset’s reaction to it all. “Oh! My turn ladies!” Rarity said, flipping her hair with her hand. She looked at Rainbow. “Truth or dare darling?” Rainbow sat up straight. “Dare!” She said without hesitation. Rarity smiled. “Alright then.” She picked up her purse and pulled out a makeup kit. “I dare you to let me put on some make up on you.” Rainbow gasped. “What?!” “You heard me. Now get over here!” Rarity said sternly. Rainbow Dash put her hands up as she glared at Rarity. “Uh-uhn! No way!” Rarity laughed as she got up and pulled Rainbow over to the love seat. “Come on now, Darling.” She told her before she whipped out a brush, brushed it against some powder and started dusting Rainbows face with it. “Sit still.” “Wait noooooooo!” Rainbow groaned as Rarity continued to powder her face. The girls around her giggled as they watched the scene before them. Rainbow tried to push Rarity away. “Rarityyyyy!” She whined again. Rarity laughed, “Now hold still Rainbow Dash. You’re worst the Sweetie Belle!” Rainbow gave up trying to push Rarity and looked at the others for help. “Fluttershy?” She asked. Fluttershy looked at anything but at Rainbow. She then looked at Applejack. “AJ? Help me!” Rainbow said to the farm girl. “Aw, lighten up Dash. It’s just a little powder.” She laughed. Rainbow glared at her. “You’re one to talk.” Applejack only laughed harder. “Sorry Rainbow, Ah can’t help ya.” “Honestly darling, I don’t know why you’re making such a fuss about this.” Rarity said to her. Rainbow ignored her and looked at Pinkie Pie. “Pinkie?” Pinkie smiled at her and shook her head. “Sorry Dashie.” Rainbow then looked at Sunset who was back on the floor with her eyes closed with her hands behind her head. Rainbow was about to ask her the same thing when she spoke up. “If you going to ask me the same thing, I would, like I really would but like, I’m a little comfy over here and I don’t wish to move anytime soon.” She paused and then added. “Also, think of this as payback.” “Aw come on, Sunset. It was a dare.” “Exactly it’s just a dare.” Sunset smiled, her eyes still closed. Rainbow frowned at that but then a thought came to her. “I’ll give 20 bucks.” Sunset opened an eye at that and raised an eyebrow. “Are you bribing me?” Rainbow nodded. She then gave Sunset her best puppy dog eyes, pleading her. Sunset closed her eye, but Rainbow could tell she was thinking about it. “Hold still, Rainbow!” Rarity commanded her. “And stop pouting. It’s honestly not even that bad!” She chuckled. Rainbow looked at Rarity then back sat Sunset. “Please, Sunny!” Sunset kept her eyes closed. “Pleeeeeease!” She saw Sunset scruntch up her face. “Pretty pleeeeeeeease!” She begged. Applejack laughed as Rainbow continued to pry on Sunset. Rainbow saw Sunset almost open her eyes, but then she clenched them close. Rainbow looked back at Rarity was about to apply fake lashes on her. That she REALLY hated those fake lashes. “Pretty please, Sunny.” Rainbow thought. Sunset finally open her eyes and lifted herself up to look Rainbow in the eye. “Ugh! Rainbow it is a dare. I can’t help you. Besides it is only make up, it is not that bad.” “Ugh!” Rainbow slumped in the seat and gave in to the make up. “I hate you guys!” That got a laugh out of everyone as Rarity continued to paint Rainbow’s face. After a few moments, Rarity backed up, took a sip from her hot tea, gave out a dramatic sigh and went back to work. After another couple of minutes she finished and put a mirror in Rainbow’s face for her to see. Rainbow gasped as she looked at herself. Rainbow actually looked pretty good, she had some mascara, fake lashes, silver eyeshadow, but she had a heavy blush, and some dark red lip gloss. Rainbow smiled, admiring her look but then remembered where she was. “Well it isn’t bad.....can I wash it off now?” Rarity rolled her eyes and smiled. “Nah-Uh, darling. You must keep it on for a whole five minutes.” Then she got her phone and took a few shots and then looked back at Rainbow. “Then you can take it of.” Rainbow groaned as the getting some more snickers from the others. There was a sound of a party cannon going off and the room suddenly was filled with confetti. “Pinkie Pie!” The group complained. “Oh! Pizza’s here!” Pinkie exclaimed as she rushed over to the door, oblivious to her friends reactions. The girls just looked at each other and just laughed it off. “That’s Pinkie for ya.” Applejack chuckled. Rarity brushed some papers out of her hair. “Yes, indeed.” They smiled at each other, then they followed their pink friend into the kitchen. Sunset watched them leave. She stayed behind for a moment. Thinking about what she just saw, and the new memories she just shared with these girls. Hehe, yeah this is great. She looked out the window and up into the sky. She saw a full moon was in the sky tonight and the stars twinkled around the big object in the sky. She had always took comfort in the night, especially a full moon night. Then she felt her stomach rumble. She rolled her eyes, took a deep breath and proceeded to follow the others into the other room for some pizza. > Is it true... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Sunset finally joined the others in the kitchen, she was greeted with an interesting scene. Everyone had already gotten their fair share of pizza, while Applejack and Rainbow Dash were having a contest to see who could eat the most pizza in three minutes. Sunset had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. “I bet I can eat twice as much as you!” Rainbow boasted, stuffing a slice of pizza into her mouth. She immediately made a face. “Yyyyuck! This needs ranch!” She grabbed the nearest bottle of ranch and poured it on her pizza and stuffed it back into her mouth. “Hah! Ya wish! I bet ah can eat five times more!” Applejack told her before shoving her face back down on the table to continue her slice. Rarity glared at the two girls. “Hugh! How revolting!” She looked up at the ceiling. “Must you have to do this now while the rest of us are eating?!” “Blagh Iagh Sowwagh, Rarahhty, blaugh huagh.” Rainbow’s words were nothing but a bunch of muffled sounds. At this point Sunset couldn’t hold herself any longer, she bursted out laughing. It started out small, but it quickly grew into full blown laughter. That’s when her friends finally noticed that she was there. “Hey, Sunghny!” Rainbow said through her mouth full. She passed her a plate of pizza before she continued to shove more pizza into her mouth. But Sunset did not bother to grab the plate for she was still too busy laughing. At this point she was snorting. “Hahahahahaha! Oh, oh, my /snort/! Hahahahaha-/snort/! Gahahahahash!” She knelt down on the floor as she fought to be able to breathe. While she was busy trying to contain her laughter, Rainbow and Applejack were still busy stuffing their faces in pizza. Sunset looked up in time to see Rainbow was trying to fit four slices of pizza down her throat all at once, while Applejack didn’t even bother to pick hers up. She had several slices in a pile and she was eating them with her face pressed down, Like how a dog or maybe even a pig would eat. Her was face covered in pizza sauce, pieces of sausage, bell pepper, and pepperoni. Her staton hat had managed to stay on her head, barely. It was slowly sliding off, though AJ never really noticed, too busy stuffing her face. Next to her, Rainbow had tried to reach for another slice on the other side of the cowgirl. She had almost reached for it when she accidentally bumped into Applejack’s shoulder, knocking the girl’s hat off her head and right into Rarity’s other uneaten slice of pizza. Both Applejack and Rainbow’s eyes went wide, their mouths full, and their cheeks messy, well their whole face covered in pizza sauce in the case of Applejack. Rarity let out a surprised yelp. Her eyes wide, her hand on her mouth, but soon she recovered and her features were soon replaced with a mix of disgust and anger. “Ugh! Really Applejack, you couldn’t even keep your hat on your head? Like I know it was not on purpose but this would not have happened if you two hadn’t been so set on seeing who can eat the most in less than—-“ She was interrupted by the sound of an alarm going off. They all looked across the table, well except Sunset who was still laughing, at Pinkie’s phone. Pinkie picked up her phone and turned it off. She then grabbed a piece of paper next to, looked at it and then looked up and Rainbow and AJ. “Its a tie!” She declares while stuffing a cupcake into her mouth. “What!” “Wa!” Both girls looked at each other. Applejack quickly finished her mouth full, swallowing in one gulp. “Ah can’t believe it!” Rainbow did the same, licking her lips as she spoke. “Yeah! There has to be a mistake!” “Honestly, darlings, I’d say you two both did great.” Rarity chimed in. “No matter how disgusting the competition was. She added under her breath. “Um, uh if-if it helps, I really thought you were going to win Applejack.” Fluttershy said behind her hair as she voiced her thoughts. “WHAT?!” Rainbow exclaimed. “Hah!” Applejack laughed at Rainbow smugly. All this went on while Sunset was still busy laughing. She was now rolling on the floor, her laugh were more of silent wheezing, unable to breathe her face turning red. Her friends noticed that she was no longer on her table. “Sunset? Where’d you go?” Rainbow asked looking around the table. The others looked to where they last saw Sunset on the table and started to look around when they saw that she wasn’t in her seat. “Oh, I think she’s down there!” Pinkie said as she remembered Sunset falling off of the chair earlier. She looked down, and sure enough there was Sunset still laughing. “Sunset? What are you down there darling?” Rarity asked from across the table. “I.....heeheeehahaha...I..heeheehee!” Sunset tried to respond but all came out were a bunch of giggles. That is until she felt something on her arm, she turned and saw a black hairy spider on her arm. She immediately shot up with a loud shriek, she automatically slapped her other hand where the spider was and she flung it back down towards the floor, which it ended up landing on the top of her foot. “AAAAAAAAAAH!!!” She kicked her foot and jumped up again. She then turned and climbed onto the nearest chair. She scanned the ground, not seeing it she then looked down to her feet and saw it still on her foot. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!” She then brought a hand down and flicked it off. As soon as she was certain that it was gone she let out a huge breath of relief, leaning back on the chair as she dropped her shoulders and laid her head back on the chair. She grabbed the bottle of germ-X that was on the table and pumped three squirts into her hand. She stared at the ground searching for the spider. “Um, S-Sunset?” Fluttershy tried to get her attention. Sunset kept scanning the ground. “Uh, Sunset”Applejack tried. “SUNSET!!!” Rainbow called out. That seemed to get Sunset’s attention as her eyes went wide and she looked across the table where the sound of the voice came from. Fear was evident in her eyes for only a split second until she shook her head, closing her eyes and she looked back at Rainbow with an unreadable expression. “Um...” Her voice was nothing but a squeaky high pitch, sound. She cleared her throat and spoke in a much more maintained voice as her cheeks grew warm. “Yeah?” Are you alright darling?” Rarity asked. “Oh I’m fine.” Sunset waved the question off with a flick of her wrist. “J-just.....a....um” Her face grew redder as she realized why she panicked a few moments ago. She looked back at her friends with an embarrassed giggle. “A um.......uh...s-spider.” Her voice grew quiet as she got to the end of her sentence. She looked around the table at the faces of her friends who were giving her a mixture of concerned and amused looks. But something tickled at her insides, for she found herself giggling at herself for the embarrassing little freak out. Her friends looked at each other and started to giggle as well. Well except for Rainbow. “Bwaaaaahahahahahaaaa!!!” Rainbow laughed. “You-eheh-you..... You?! Heheheha! You’re scared of -hehehahah-spiders?!” She managed between laughs. She took a deep breath and continued. “The big bad Sunset Shimmer is scared of a little spider? Ahahahaha!” She dissolved into another fit of laughter. “Rainbow!” Rarity scolded. “What?! Ahahah” Rainbow tried to hide her laugh. Sunset blushed even harder, “Well, yeah. Heh, just they’re so....”She glanced at Fluttershy and searched for a nice word to place her disgust. When she couldn’t find one she stuck her tongue out. “I’m sorry Fluttershy.” She said before she pretended to gag. “They are just not the greatest things to look at AND after being dared to eat one...” There were immediate sounds of disgusted groans from her friends, even Fluttershy gave an audible ‘iiugh!’. “I did not eat it! I swear! I almost did though, it was so disgusting, but yes spiders just so happen to be on of my, um, fears.” She looked back down the floor to see if the spider was still there. When she looked back up her gaze landed on Pinkie Pie. “So, whose turn is it for truth or dare?” Pinkie brightened at the question. “Oh! It’s Applejack’s turn!” Applejack smiled. “Hooowee!” She looked around the table and stopped at Rarity. “Truth or Dare, Rares?” Rarity looked at her. “Truth.” Applejack smiled. “Have ya ever...hehehe....passed gas in public?” “Huh!!!” Rarity gasped. “Of course not! A lady would never!” Rainbow rolled her eyes. “Yeah right!” She laughed. Applejack frowned, “Tell da truth Rarity.” Rarity glared at her. “I have not done anything of the sort!” Rainbow chuckled. “If you say so, but I don’t believe you.” Applejack nodded. Then she smiled. “Be careful what you say Rarity, you might just regret that.” She then went over to Rainbow and whispered into her ear. Rainbow’s face grew into a wicked smile and she started to giggle when AJ finished. “And just what are you planning?” Rarity said with a glare. “Oh noth’n” Applejack laughed. “My turn!” Rainbow looked at Rarity, then at Applejack who shook her head. Rainbow nodded and then scanned her other friends. Her eyes landed on Sunset. “Truth or Dare?” Sunset thought for a moment and decided to go easy at the moment. “Truth.” Rainbow nodded, thinking. Then she smiled, “Have you ever been slapped you on the butt in public?” “What?” Sunset said. She was about to say no when she realized that she had to tell the truth. Well, she didn’t have to say it, but if she lied it might be harder to handle. She wasn’t exactly that good of a liar anyways. She blushed as she nodded. “Yyyeah...” Her friends all looked at her. Rainbow’s smile grew. “Really?” Sunset nodded again. “Did you like it?” Sunset blushed harder as she thought about the question. She realized what Rainbow was implying and looked to the side. ”That wasn’t the question.” Rainbow laughed. “Well, did you?” “Next person!” Sunset said, desperately trying to get the attention away from her. It didn’t matter how it felt it was down right embarrassing. Her friends giggled as Rarity raised her hand. “I am darling.” She looked at Sunset. “Truth or dare?” “What?! Why me?” Sunset looked at the others and back at Rarity. “Why not do them?” Rarity tethered,” No one said we had to ask everyone the question. Just ask long as everyone had a chance to do one and that they get a chance to ask or to dare someone. Never said anyone had to follow the rules, darling.” Rarity had that mischievous look about her. Sunset looked at her nervously. She wasn’t really sure what she should choose. She had just chosen truth, she did a dare last time. No one said she had to do them in order. She could do truth again, but she was not a pussy. If she chose truth again, it could be social suicide. If she chose dare, it may not be so bad....right? At least that’s what she hoped as she gathered her thoughts in to form the words through her lips, taking the risk of what was to come next. “Dare.” Rarity smiled widely at her, making Sunset’s inside do a little tumble as her hopes fell down. “Mmm, I dare you to....tell us who is was that slapped you in public.” Sunset’s eyes went big. “Ugh! We’re still on that? I said dare not truth!” Rarity frowned,” It is a dare, I said I dare you to tell us who it was.” Sunset thought about it, she realized that this wasn’t a truth question. She could lie. “It was a stranger.” She thought really hard about how yummy the pizza was and concentrated hard on the smell while she looked at Rarity. Rarity looked at her with a disappointed look. She searched her face for a moment. Then she smiled again,” Oh! You’re lying!” She chuckled. “You’re good at hiding your emotions Sunset, but I believe those cheeks of yours just got a little bit more red.” Sunset’s faces grew even hotter as she knew that she was caught. She slumped in her chair and laid her head against the table. She opened her mouth and said something incoherent. “I’m sorry, what was that, darling?” Rarity asked. Sunset repeated her words, but they once again went unheard. “One more time.” Rarity prompt. Sunset groaned. “Flash! Okay! It was Flash freaking Sentry!” She crosses her arms on the table and buried her face into them. “Whose turn is it now?” She mumbled through her skin. “Um...........well..........u-um.”She heard Fluttershy spoke up. “It’s uh, my turn.” She smiled and looked at Pinkie Pie. So, uh truth or dare, Miss Pie?” She asked. “Uh, truth.” Pinkie told her. Fluttershy nodded, adopting a smirk. “Is it true that you cooked a...” She looked at the Rainbow and Applejack, then to Rarity. She looked at Sunset then back at Pinkie Pie. “...that you cooked a raw birthday cake?” Pinkie Pie gasped, “I-It was an accident!” Everyone gasped at that. “Whoa, whoa, whoa!” Rainbow looked at Pinkie with wide eyes. “You baked a raw cake?! I don’t believe it!” “Yeah, me nither.” Applejack agreed. Pinkie got a little bit of a darker pink on her cheeks,” W-Well, the oven was going out. I didn’t know! It was the worst!” Sunset raises her head, and rested her chin on her arm. She looked at Fluttershy.”How’d you know that?” Fluttershy gave a little chuckle, “Because when it came out of the oven, she was, um, she came rushing to the kitchen when she bumped into me. And it, um fell right into Vice Principal Luna’s face.” Realization came to Sunset’s face as she remembered that day. She had been on the other side of the room baking with Vinyl Scratch as her partner. That was the day that Pinkie Pie had requested to use that class hour to bake a cake for Mrs. Cheerilee. She wasn’t there for the whole thing because she was called into the office, but when she came back she saw Luna covered in cake and some other gooey stuff. She had meant to ask what happened but she got so busy in helping her partner on making their cake that she forgot to ask. Remembering the day, made her start to giggle again. “Ooh!!! So that’s what happened? Oh my gosh!” Fluttershy nodded. Pinkie looked at them, but then her pout turned into a smile as she laughed it off too. “Heehee! Yeah, where were you, Sunny?” Sunset waves the question with her hand. “Oh, I had to go see Celestia for a moment.” “Oh, um, well now you know what happened.” Fluttershy giggled. The others just looked at each other and shrugged. “My turn!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed. “Truth or Dare, Dashie?” “Pinkie! Not in front of our friends!” Rainbow scolded Pinkie, glaring at her. Sunset giggled. “Dashie?” Rainbow looked at her. “Yeah, it’s kinda like Sunny.” She smiled at Sunset, raising an eye-brow. Sunset blushed at that and smiled,” Heh, right. Just didn’t know anyone called you that. Well, besides your dad.” It was Rainbow’s turn to blush. “Hehe, yeah...” “Well? Truth or dare?” Pinkie repeated her question. Rainbow rolled her eyes, then she shot Pinkie Pie a cocky smile. “Dare.” Pinkie Pie gave her a wide shark like grin. “I dare you to prank call.” “Oh that’s all?” Rainbow scoffed. “No problem.” She grabbed her soda and started chugging it. “Vice-Principal Luna.” Rainbow’s eyes show up, she turned and spat out the soda into Applejack’s face. Applejack glared at her and went to clear up her face as Rainbow gave Pinkie a look of disbelief. “WHAT?!” “Mhm! Do it. And you have to make it sound like a pizza delivery guy.” Pinkie giggled. “Um, uh...” Rainbow gulped and looked at Pinkie. “Give me your phone.” “Uh-uh, you have to use your own phone.” “But she has my phone number in the student phone book!” “Yeah, well she can’t know your number by heart! Right? She couldn’t possibly know! And even so, it doesn’t matter.” Pinkie said. “It’s a dare. Unless.....” She looked at Rainbow. “You’re too scared.” Rainbow put her hand over to her chest and glared at the pink party girl. “I am not scared!” “Then do the dare, Dash.” Applejack chimed in, giving Rainbow a smug look. Rainbow looked down at her phone in hand, then back at Pinkie. She glanced at Applejack’s smug look, then back at her phone. She took a deep breathe and without a second thought she opened her phone, went to her contacts, then a realization came to her. “But I don’t have her number.” Pinkie looked at Sunset, then at Rainbow. “I bet she does.” She looked at Sunset as she reached for Sunset’s phone that was sitting on the counter. She went to unlock it with her frosted filled fingers. “Right, Sunny?” Sunset immediately leaped across and snatched her phone out of Pinkie’s grasp. “Yes! And ask first before you put your fingers all over my screen!” She wiped her phone with her shirt, leading it of the smeared frosting that came from Pinkie’s sticky fingers. She opened her phone up to her contacts and then showed the screen to Rainbow. “Why do you have Luna’s number?” Rainbow asked. “None of your business. I just happen to start talking to her after the fall formal.” “What for?” Rarity asked. Sunset looked at her. Then she rolled her eyes. “No reason.” She then looked at Rainbow. Then she grabbed Rainbow’s phone from her hand and quickly tapped on it for a little bit then she handed it back o Rainbow. “Here you go. Now, call her!” Sunset have her a smirk and a wink and then went back to her seat with her phone in her hand. Rainbow looked at Sunset then back at her phone she gave an audible gulp and pressed the little phone icon. She pressed her phone up against her ear. “No, no! Put it on speaker!” Pinkie Pie told her. Rainbow rolled her eyes, but did as she was told. There was a beep and then there was someone on the line. “Hello?” Rainbow took a deep breath and did the best guy voice that she could muster and spoke. “Hi! Did you ordered a box of pizza ma’am?” The girls in the room all started giggling while they watch the display play out in front of them. Luna gave slight chuckle. “Oh you must be calling for the address. Yes, my sister’s house is on Avenue M.” Rainbow sputtered before she said,” Of-of course! Be there right away.” Luna laughed. “Haha! I know it’s you, Rainbow Dash.” Rainbow’s eyes went wide. “Eh-what?!” “Yes, you’ve used that voice when you look into the mirror during gym or when you warm up for a big game.” Luna explained while Rainbow felt her cheeks grow warm. Her friends bursted out laughing. “Have a good night, Dash. Oh and you have detention when come to school Monday.” “WHAT?!” Rainbow exclaimed. “Well yes, you think I wouldn’t get you for calling me in the middle of one of my gaming sessions?” Rainbow didn’t respond. “You shouldn’t feel so bad. You won’t be alone, Sunset will be there too. Goodnight, Dash.” Then the line went dead, but not before they heard Luna shout, “OUT OF MY WAY YOU LITTLE—-“ Everyone looked at each other before bursting out laughing. When they finally managed to get a hold of themselves, Sunset let out a long, drawn out yawn. “Ooh. I am sleepy. I think I’m gonna hit the hey.” She was about to get up when her friends started laughing again. “What?” “Hit the hey?” Rainbow asked before busting out laughing again. Sunset rolled her eyes. “Har, har.” She smiled as she got up. “Well, goodnight. Applejack yawned as Sunset got up. “Me too, Sugarcube.” She got up too. “Me too.” Fluttershy nodded. Rarity and Rainbow agreed. They all got up and moved to Pinkie’s room. Her sisters where out and so where her parents so, the house was quiet. They all set out their sleeping bags and settled in for bed. Pinkie looked at her friends as she sat on the bar watching them get ready for bed. “But I’m not sleepyyy.” “We can continue the game another time, dear.” Rarity told her before putting her sleep mask over her eyes. “Oh! That’s a great idea! We can do this again tomorrow! It’s Saturday tomorrow! We can totally hav—“ Sunset looked up to see Pinkie Pie already knocked out. She looked at her friends and then shrugged it off as Pinkie being, well Pinkie Pie. She grabbed her journal and a pen from her backpack and wrote a quick message in it. ══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════ Dear Twilight: It has been good so far. I know that you couldn’t stay any longer to come spend the night with us, and I hope everything goes well for you in Equestria. I know you must be pretty busy as a princess, but I got to say that I had fun. Heh, I don’t know, but I think maybe, just maybe things might get better for me. She looked up to see her friends already fast asleep and smiled at them. She glanced out the window next to her and looked at the moon. She took a deep calm, relaxing breath and looked back at the page she was writing in. I think I have finally found something worthy. Something I can hold close to my heart once again. Thank you. Your friend Sunset Shimmer ══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════ Sunset closed the book and put it away. She looked back up at the moon. She thought about the events that went on that day. About seeing the Sirens, getting trapped under the stage. Who knew there was even such a thing as a trap door on stage with a twelve feet drop. She’d be lying if she said that her legs weren’t a little sore from the fall. She was lucky she didn’t get anymore than a few bruises on her legs. They all were. Then she recalled the final battle and how she, for the first time in her life she stood, confidently for the right thing, in all the right ways, in the right moment. At least, it felt right in her heart. She had never experienced such feelings, such warmth, love, and well, such pure goodness in her body. The feeling of the magic that went through her body. It wasn’t hash, it wasn’t forbidden or dark this time. No, it was as if it was hers. Magic that she could finally call upon once again, something that she could claim as her own once more. But this time it wasn’t borrowed, or stolen for that matter. No, this magic felt like it was meant for her and she felt so powerful. Not in the hungry, greedy way like before, no like confidence and...and self worth. Like, she felt like nothing could ever hurt her again, like she was free of the hurt, free of the pain, and the suffering from both worlds that she lived in. She felt whole, like she had finally tapped into a new, part of herself. A new her. She felt....for lack of better words, shimmeringly amazing. Then to come out of that beautiful embrace from the magic, and joining her friends to this slumber party. It was like leaving, a nice warm, comforting hug, and going into the arms of another. Yes, right now she felt like nothing she had ever felt before. Happiness. True happiness. She breathed out another deep breath as she looked back at her friends. Then she finally got comfortable in her sleeping bag and with the last thoughts of happiness and her friends still on her mind, and as a small smile appeared on her face, she slowly drifted off into the very first peaceful, dreamless sleep she’d had in a long time. > Moments like this... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A cool breeze made its way through the warm, cozy air. It’s harsh cold tongue licked the bare exposed skin of her legs, of which she had somehow removed out of her sleeping bag sometime in her slumbers. A light shiver ran down her spine. Opening her eyes, Sunset awoke from her peaceful sleep to find that she was not in her usual place. She blinked a few times to focus her eyes a little more. When they did, they rested upon the still sleeping forms of her friends. Seeing such a peaceful sight from none other those of her new friends caused her to form a soft smile on her lips. She then looked out towards the window. She could tell that sunrise wasn’t too far, as she saw the dark night sky slowly fading into that of a pretty purplish pink. She let out a sleepy yawn, as she stretched out her limbs. Then her eyes shot open when she realized that she still had time to go see the sunrise. She had always enjoyed going out in the mornings and today wouldn’t be any different. As quietly as she could she got up, and got her change of cloths. She thought about going to change in the bathroom but she had on sweats already, so she just moved to a dark corner just in case, and quickly changed her top. Then she came out of the corner to put on her boots. Shrugging on her leather biker jacket, she quietly proceeded outside. Once she was outside she took in a deep breath and exhaled. Not even bothering to look back, she walked off the porch, went around the corner and walked to the edge of the property and looked out. The sun was still behind the mountains tops. As she looked on, another idea sparked in her mind. Acting quickly, she rushed back to the house, sneaked in to the kitchen just to grab her helmet and then walked back out towards her bike. When she reached her bike she quickly hoped onto her seat, did a quick safety scan and then started up the motor. Just as she was about to move she felt a tap on her shoulder. She gave a little surprised yelp, but then she looked over her shoulders to see Fluttershy standing there with her eyes downcast. “Uh, um, what are you doing, Sunset?” She asked? Sunset quickly glanced at the sun, which was surprisingly still behind he mountains. Looking back at her friend, she decided to just fuck it and bring her along too. “Get on.” “Wh-What?” Sunset patted the seat behind her. “Get on.” She repeated, giving her shy friend a warm, but urgent smile. Fluttershy wanted to ask why, but the urgency in Sunset’s eyes made her change her mind. She could always ask her later anyways. She nodded and then got onto the bike. Sunset turned to her and gave her the helmet,” Here, put this on.” Fluttershy looked at the helmet, then back at Sunset. “Don’t you need that.” Sunset didn’t even answer the question, instead she turned around and put the helmet on Fluttershy’s head, she gently adjusted the strap and made sure that it was secure. “I’ll be fine without it.” She returned back to her seat, wrapping her fingers on the motorcycle’s handle bars, she added “For now anyways.” The red head looked back over her shoulder. “Ready?” She got a “Mhm” from the shy girl as she wrapped her arms around her waist, and they were off. As they rode up the road, Sunset drove on, watching as the light behind the mountains started to intensify. She quickly looked both ways, looked ahead, and behind. “HOLD ON TIGHT!” She shouted as she sped up. She felt Fluttershy squeak and tighten a viselike grip around her waist. It took the breath out of Sunset, but Sunset did her best to ignore it as she reach her destination on the side of the rode. There were picnic tables there and a nature trail the led out to a better view of the sunrise in the area. As soon as she came to a stop, putting down the stick and jumped down. She helped Fluttershy down and then dragged her down the trail towards a little open area of logs and trees. Then she let go of Fluttershy and walked all the way to the edge of the hill and stopped to stair out to the sunrise. “Sunset! What-wha....” Fluttershy began but then she trailed off as she realized what the redhead came to do. She was surprised that out of all her friends, the only one that even was slightly interested in this kind of nature stuff was Applejack, and not even she was this anxious to see the sunrise. “Oh...I didn’t know you....um....you” she trailed off again when she realized that Sunset wasn’t even listening to her anymore. As Sunset let go of Fluttershy’s hand, she walked over to the edge of the hill and stared out into the beautifully hot pink sky. She exhaled the cool, crisp morning air, spreading her arms as if to embrace the sunrise. And as the sky was turning into a deep shade of red and even some dark orange, she saw the sun start peak out from behind the mountain tops and watched as it slowly rose over the vast land to shine its beautiful, delicate, yet powerful golden light down upon the still sleeping town. She took another deep calming breath and it was at that moment that she forgot everything around her, even the fact that she wasn’t alone. She basked in the sun’s beautiful morning glory. She felt its light, how it seemed to gently hug her body, starting from the tips of her feet, through the tough leather of her boots, up to her upper body, all the way up to her face, which was a little red from the cool air. She close her eyes as she felt the sun’s heat rest on them, she felt a tear run down her face. Whether it was from the cold morning breeze or the pure joy of the sunlight she didn’t know. Nor did she really care right now. The light morning breeze blew at her face, make her hair whip out in the light wind, and she took in another deep breath and let it out. Then she remembered that she was not alone. She turned to see Fluttershy too, was enjoying the beautiful scene right next to her. She wrapped an arm around her friend’s shoulders and pulled her closer as she looked back out towards the sun. Sunset felt Fluttershy give a little start at the sudden movement, but then she eased into the touch. “I, um... I thought I was the only one who loved nature this much.” Sunset turned to find her friend giving her an unusual teasing smirk. Sunset giggled, “Heh, look I know I don’t seem the type for a lot of things. But in all fairness, there’s a lot that we don’t know about either other. “ Fluttershy adopted a warm smile. “Oh, right. Change can be good though.” Sunset glanced back at the sunrise. “Yeah. It sure can.” Then she gave one final deep breath before heading back toward her bike, but she did not climb back on. Instead she looked to her friend, who had followed her. “But yes, I enjoy the outside world more than I’d like to admit. Both worlds for that matter.” She then gave Fluttershy a light glare. “ If you dare tell anyone of this little detail about me, I’ll deny any of it.” Fluttershy giggled, “You’re secrets safe with me.” Then she got that unusual wild smile on her face. “But even if I did, who do you think they’d believe?” Sunset thought for a moment. “All things considering, I honestly have no idea, but knowing them. Even if they didn’t believe it, they’d use it to get at me.” Fluttershy was about to protest when Sunset lifted a finger and gave her a look that said ‘you can’t be serious!’ Fluttershy rethought her action and then realized that Sunset probably had a point. Sunset nodded. Then she moved to mount back onto the motorcycle. Fluttershy followed suite, making sure that the helmet she still had on was on right. Then she put her arms back around Sunset. Sunset looked over her shoulder with a warm smile. “Ready?” Her friend gave her a small smile and gave her a thumbs up. Sunset nodded and then went off back towards Pinkie’s place. __________________________________ When the two friends got back to Pinkie’s house, they both got off together. Fluttershy looked at her. “You know, if I had known I may be beast friends with the other five, but none of them appreciate nature like you and I do.” She looked to the side. “So, um, maybe we could do this again?” Sunset smile at her, “Of course, in fact I like to see the sun go down sometimes too. I was planning on doing it this weekend, you want to come with me today?” Fluttershy’s smile brightened. “Oh! That’d, that’d be....” a thought came to her mind as she realized what time of day that would be, looking at the girl whose name is that exact beautiful sight that she’ll get to see later on today, she couldn’t help but say the last words. “It would be shimmeringly beautiful.” As the words left her lips, Fluttershy got the reaction that she wanted out of Sunset. The other girl blinked at her as Sunset’s cheeks redden. She giggled. “Hmm, you’re not as shy as people make you out to be.” Not even waiting for the shy girl to respond, she walked towards the house. As she followed the former unicorn to the house, Fluttershy felt happiness in her heart that she found a friend out of the school’s Queen B, something of which she never would have thought possible. “Sunset?” The red head stopped and looked back at her. “Yeah?” Fluttershy smiled at her. “Thank you for showing me.” Sunset thought for a moment and then seemed to understand what she meant. She nodded and continued on towards the house. Fluttershy giggled as she ran to catch up to Sunset. Even though she didn’t get much a response from the other girl, Fluttershy knew that being the tough girl she was, she wouldn’t get much anyways. As her arm accidentally moved up against Sunset’s side as she moved to move the hair out of her face, she heard the girl let out a surprised giggle. She then saw slight shiver visibly go through the girl’s body. Fluttershy gave her an odd look. Then she looked to where she had made contact with the girl, and that’s when finally understood. A wide smirk spread across her face. “Um, Sunny, are you....um...ticklish?” The other girl gave her an unreadable expression. “Uh, no.” Fluttershy didn’t have to be the element of honesty to know that it was a lie. Her smile grew wider. Becoming bold, she reached out a hand to Sunset’s ribs and held it just before she touched the girl’s side. “Oh, really? Then...I guess this wouldn’t effect you, huh?” Then without waiting for a response, Fluttershy proceeded to attack the girl at her sides. Sunset’s eyes went wide when she saw the shy girl lift up her hand to her side, but before she could even react, she felt a mad tickling on her side. She tried hard not to laugh, but she couldn’t hold it in for long. She started giggling at the contact. She doubled over with laughter, as she tried unsuccessfully to push the other girl away. “Oh.....ahahahaha......okay......hahahahahaha...oh no! Stahaha...ssstop...hahahaha...p-please...hahahahahaha...no.....hahahaha...m-more!!!” Fluttershy kept with her tickling for a moment longer and then stopped. When she did, Sunset fell to the ground still gigging, hugging her sides trying to get her laughter under control. When she finally did, she rose back up and looked at Fluttershy and blushed. “Okay, so I am. You, hahahaha, you better not tell the others.” “Oh, there no need for that, darling. We already know.” Rarity’s voice was heard from somewhere near them. The two girls looked up to see their friends standing out on the porch watching them. Sunset’s blush quickly flash a deep red as she realized that they had just witnessed the whole scene. Fluttershy giggled at her friend’s reaction. “Well, looks like you can hide that little secret anymore. Hehe!” “Heeeheeee, nope!” Pinkie piped up. Rainbow, who was the closes to the two, raised her hands in a cat claw-like mode. “Come here, Sunny.” Sunset’s eyes went wide with fear. Then she felt her jacket slide off her shoulders. She turned her wide eyes to Fluttershy and she saw her friend taking her jacket in her hands. She gave a little squeak as she looked back in time to see Rainbow and Pinkie Pie in front of her with wicked smiles on their faces. “Oh there’s nowhere to run, Sunny! Hehe, get her!” Pinkie Pie said before her, Rainbow, and Fluttershy descended their relentless attack on Sunset. The red head let out a tiny surprised yelp before falling into an angry fit of laughter. A moment later she managed to open her eyes long enough to spot Rarity and Applejack joining in on the attack. Sunset tried to get away, but each time she turned, she’d get another flurry of tickles onto her newly exposed area. Tears ran down her face as she continued to laugh, wheezing and snorting as her friends kept on the attack. She somehow found herself on the ground rolling side to side, laughing so hard, it was hard to breathe. Finally, her friends stopped their attack and fell down on the ground next to her laughing. Faced down, Sunset felt a hard smack on her exposed bottom. She let out another yelp and immediately flipped herself over to see Pinkie Pie giving her a shark like smirk. “That’s for making me eat that despicable unfrosted sweet last night.” “Yep, never doing that again.” Sunset responded with a sheepish smile at Pinkie. Her friends all evolved into giggles once more as a light blush washed over Sunset's face. When their laughter seized again, Pinkie bounced up. “Oh! Oh! Oh! Let’s play truth or dare out here!” Her friends looked at her. Rarity looked at her, “OUT HERE?!” Applejack chuckled at her, “ Oh hush! You’re already on the ground anyways.” Rarity looked down at where she payed. “Oh....right.” Rainbow Dash looked at Pinkie. “Yeah! I’m with Pinkie Pie, let’s continue the game here.” Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy gave their nods of approval. Then all eyes were on Sunset. “Well Sunny? What do you say?” Pinkie Pie asked her. Sunset looked at all of her friends, even if she didn’t want to, she knew they’d make her. It was five against one. She let out a long sigh. “Ugh, fine! I’m in.” Her friends smiled at her. “Yay! Sunny’s in!” Pinkie Pie enthuses. She looked to Rarity. “You’re first.” Rarity nodded and scanned the group. Her eyes landed on Fluttershy. “Oh, Fluttershy, darling, truth or dare?” Fluttershy blinked, but she was feeling bold after her tickling attack on Sunset so she took a gulp and took a breath before she voiced her decision. “D-dare.” Rarity’s eyes went wide. “Dare?! Are you sure darling?” Fluttershy immediately backed down into the ground and hid behind her hair, and nodded her head. Rarity stared at the girl for a moment. “Alright then.” She tapped a finger on her lap as she thought up a dare. Then she smiled. “I dare you to make Rainbow kiss your feet. Both Fluttershy and Rainbow’s eyes went wide. “What?!” Rainbow exclaimed. “No way!” Rarity looked at her then at Fluttershy. “It’s what she gets for stepping all over my makeup bag. Now, DO IT ALREADY!” Rarity emphasized. Fluttershy took a gulp, and blushed as she looked at Rainbow. Then she took off her shoe and lift her foot up to Rainbow’s face. She then turned her head, facing the ground. “K-kiss it.” A moment later she felt a quick peck on her foot. She glanced at Rainbow who was also blushing and was looking anywhere but Fluttershy. Rarity giggled at the action, while Fluttershy kept her eyes fixed on the ground as she lowered her leg back down. “Okay next!” Pinkie said getting everyone’s attention back in her. She faced Applejack. “Your turn, Applejack! Applejack nodded. She winked at Rainbow Dash, then looked around only to stop at Rarity. “Truth or dare, Rares?” Rarity looked at her. “Truth.” Applejack nodded and smiled. “Have ya ever manipulated someone into doing da dirty with ya? Rarity looked at her with a raised eye brow. “Whatever do you mean, Applejack?” “Oh, ya know.” She made a circle with one hand and made a motion with a finger on the other hand. Rarity’s eyes went wide. She scoffed, “I would never! I am a proper lady!” Applejack laughed, “If ya say so.” “Of course! What kind of lady do you think I am?!” “Oh nothin’.” At that moment, Rainbow got up from her spot and ran into the house. “Be right back!” Rarity looked to where the athletic girl went off to, and then glared at Applejack But she didn’t question the cowgirl. “Aw! It was her turn!” Pinkie Pie complained, her happy demeanor changing slightly. “I’m back!” Rainbow said. She was shaking a can of sprite in her hand. “Truth or Dare, AJ?” Not even looking at anyone well she asked the question. “Dare.” Applejack told her. “Open this can.” Rainbow instructed her giving her the shaken can. Applejack looked at the can and grabbed it. “Alright then.” She opened the shaken can of soda with a wide smile, the opening facing Rarity. As she opened it, the thing exploded all over Rarity. Rainbow and Applejack both busted out laughing the moment the can was open. But as Rarity was able to wipe off enough sprite out of her face, she glared up at the two girls just in time to see the can , which evidently had so much pressure built up inside that it shot back towards Applejack and smacked her hard in the face causing the farm girl to gasp in surprise. Now it was Rarity’s turn to burst out laughing along with the other girls. Well except Sunset, who got face full of sprite as well when the can hit Applejack, which somehow it ended up spraying her too before it hit the ground, causing the red head to turn the other way with a shriek at the sudden contact. Her friends only laughed harder at the action, and soon both Applejack and Sunset joined in the others with giggling. “Your turn, Fluttershy! Heehee!” Pinkie Pie giggled. Fluttershy nodded as she got a control over her own laughter. “Okay, um truth or dare, Pinkie?” The pink party planner smiled, “Dare, duh!” Fluttershy chuckled lightly at her friend’s response. “Um, okay. Uh........” She looked around. “I dare you to....” She leaned into Pinkie Pie and whispered into her ear. Pinkie’s eyes went big as her smile grew into a dark, wicked one. She nodded. Pinkie Pie bounced up and disappeared seemingly out of nowhere. As Sunset stared at the spot where Pinkie Pie was, wandering to herself how the girl could be capable of something that was supposed to be impossible, well at least logically. She felt something grab her shoulder and she literally jumped three feet in the air with a loud, high pitched yelp. She turned around in split second, her hair slapping whatever was behind her, as she lifted her hand up in a defensive pose. When she saw what was behind her, she was not expecting to find Pinkie Pie right in front of her causing her to stop in mid swing and take a step back with gasp. She relaxed when she realized that it was only Pinkie Pie. JSheesh! Chill Sunset! You’re not gonna get jumped for shits sakes! She scolded herself. “Pinkie! Don’t do that! I could have clobbered you!” Her friends chuckled at her reaction. “Hehe, you’re priceless, Shimmer!” Rainbow said. “Relax.” Sunset smirked at her. “Relax? Ha! Tell me that when guys aren’t such ass holes anymore.” That cause her friends to laugh even harder. “True.” Rainbow laughed. “But where’s you learn how to fight?” Sunset blinked. “Well....” Her cheeks grew warm. “I did took some defense classes...” Her friends all stared wide eyed at her. “Really?!” Rainbow asked her. She nodded. “AWESOME!!!” She got up from the ground. Sunset smile and was about to respond when she was interrupted by the loud rumble of her stomach. She blushed and she gave her friends a sheepish smile. “Um....maybe we should have some breakfast?” Her friends giggled and looked at Pinkie Pie. “Yep! Let’s go, I’m hungry too!” Then her friends all proceeded to go inside. Sunset followed, but then she stepped back a little bit. Looking at her friends, she could not believe that she, of all people was finally able to get something that she never would have thought, that she’d ever achieve to get a few weeks ago. Looking at the happy smiles of her friends, she was reminded of her lucky she was to have friends like theses girls. There wasn’t another group of girls like them and she loved them that way. “Are you coming, Sunny?” Pinkie asked as she popped back outside. Sunset shook her head from her inner thoughts and nodded. “Yes, yes I am.” Pinkie smiled at her, and then she said something that was unusual of her to say given whom she was. “We’re lucky to have a friend like you, Sunny. I know that we did not have the greatest beginning, and that sucks. But, that’s behind us now, right now we wouldn’t trade you for the world. We have something that no one else will ever have and that’s you. You are our Sunset. The one and only, and we love you for that. We love you for who you are.” Sunset let her words sink in as she smiled back at her friend. “Thanks, Pinkie. That means a lot.” Then she climbed up the stairs. Pinkie giggled. “Now come on! Those blueberry pancakes aren’t going to eat themselves!” Sunset’s eyes brightened as her stomach grumbles again. Blushing once more from the embarrassment, she giggled. “Oh! Well we sure can’t have that now can we?” “Nope!” And together, the two friends walked back inside the house, their arms around each other, with happy smiles plastered on the faces as they went to join the others around the table. It was, at least for Sunset, a perfect moment.
