> Element Gang Equestria Girls: Friendship Games Shorts: Date Night > by Power of Six > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Sunset Shimmer and Husk Noir's Date > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- At my house, I was pacing around nervously in my room, trying to figure out what to for my date with Sunset tonight. Azulo and Will were there as they watched me. “Oh, man! What was I thinking?” I said, freaking out. “What do I say? What the heck do I do?” Azulo and Will were enjoying my reaction as Azulo chirped. “Yep, that’s just like Evening when he finally asked out Trixie.” Will smirked until Azulo chirped again pointing to him. “What? No, I did not act that way on my first date.” But Azulo rolls his eyes saying he didn't believe that. “What’s going on?” My mom asked, walking down the hall. “Your son is having first date jitters, Chord.” Will said. “Alright, you two aren’t gonna be much help in this department.” My mom said as she pushed them away and walked in. “Everything alright, Husk?” “Huh? Oh, hey, Mom.” I said. “Listen, now’s not really a good time.” “Husk, it’s fine to be nervous.” My mom smirked. “But, seriously, I thought Evening and Will gave you tips on how to deal with girls.” “Yeah, crazed fan girls. Not this.” I said. “Oh, boy.” My mom rolled her eyes and gestured for me to sit down next to her. “Listen, Husk, I dealt with your brother when he was in the exact same situation with his own girl and I’m gonna tell you the same advice I told him. Just be yourself and have fun. Also take some deep breaths, you look like you’re about to pass out.” I paused to breathe for a few minutes before I eventually calmed down. “Thanks, Mom.” I said to her with a smile. “You’re welcome, Husk.” My mom said. “Now go have some fun, but be back by midnight.” “Alright.” I nods as I grabbed my wallet and walked out of the room. “See, boys? That’s how it's done.” I heard my mom say to Azulo and Will with a smirk and her hands crossed. Azulo undoubtedly looked to Will as he just said with a shrug “Cord's Charcoal’s wife. It makes sense she loves to brag.” At the mall, I was sitting by the fountain waiting for Sunset. “Uh…hey, Husk.” Hearing her voice, I looked up to see Sunset wearing her leather jacket, but also a blue blouse and jeans. I couldn't help but think she looked…amazing. “Wow.” I said as I couldn’t stop thinking how amazing she looked. “Sorry. Was this a little too much?” Sunset nervously said. “I mean, I've never worn anything like this before.” “N-No.” I said. “I-I mean, you look great. Really.” “Oh, thank you.” Sunset said as she blushed. “So where are we going first?” “Well, I thought we could have some fun.” I said. With that, it wasn’t long until me and Sunset were in a game of Laser Tag, shooting the opposing team. “This is the best!” Sunset cheered as she blasted a member on the opposing team. “I didn’t think this would be so fun.” “Compared to shooting a Slug, this must be pretty easy.” I said as I smirked, blasting someone who tried coming up behind me. “What the…? How did you…?” He asked. “You’re not very quiet.” I said, turning around. “Well, you two are out of luck because Maven’s on our team.” he said, before running off. Looking around, we saw members of our team getting blasted out of the game. Looking around we noticed a girl with brown skin and pink hair wearing green specs standing on a platform blasting our teammates away with ease. I had to guess this was Maven. “Whoa, that girl’s good.” Sunset said impressed. “We can take her.” I said. Making our way toward her, Maven looked at the scoreboard and saw that the three of us were the only ones left in the game. When I looked at her, she aimed down and was ready to shoot. But, strangely, when she noticed the Star logo on my jacket, her eyes widen for a second. The way she looked at it looked like she knew what the logo was. I could’ve sworn I heard her say “No way.” Maven snapped out of that gaze and started blasting us. As she fired at us, me and Sunset ran behind a wall to avoid her blasts. “Well, Slugger, any ideas?” Sunset asked me. “I got one.” I said as I leaned in and whispered, causing her to grin. “Smart.” Sunset said as she got up. “If this works, victory sodas are on me.” “You're on.” I said as she ran out one direction and started firing at Maven. Jumping down, Maven retaliated but she didn't notice me climbing up the platform and, just as she was about to blast Sunset, her armor beeped, signifying she lost. “What the…?” Maven said as she turned around and saw me standing behind her. “How did you…?” “Sorry. Better luck next time.” I said. “Blue team wins.” A voice on the PA said. After the game, me and Sunset were laughing as the waiter brought our food and sodas over. “That was awesome! How did you know that would work?” Sunset asks. “I used that trick on Cord by having Pronto run out.” I said. “I blasted him easily while he was distracted.” “So, tell me a little bit about Slugterra.” Sunset said. “What was it like living there?” “Well, after being down there for a few months, I already got the jest for it.” I said, explaining what I knew about the world below. “For starters there were Slugs in every cavern, long days for relaxing in the grass, clear waters in the deepest oceans. Each one had something amazing in it that made them special.” “Sounds amazing.” Sunset said. “I bet you have some pretty amazing stuff back in Equestria.” I said. “Well, the capital city of Canterlot was where I spent most of my time.” Sunset said. “But, let me tell you, the city was so full of life and every pony was so happy.” “Sounds magical.” I said. “It really was.” Sunset said as she then frowned in depression. “Makes me wonder why I even left in the first place.” “Well, I’m glad you came here.” I said, causing her to smile. “Thanks, Husk. I’m really glad you came here too.” Sunset said as she briefly moved her hand and touched mine. I was surprised by it at first. But, when I looked into Sunset’s beautiful eyes, I couldn’t help but get lost in them. Maven’s POV After that Laser Tag game, I went home. Well, it wasn’t actually my home. It was someplace the only friends I have in this city let me stay at. “Guys, I’m home.” I called out when one of my Arachnet Slugs came out of the umbrella stand and hopped onto my shoulder. “Hey, buddy. You know where my friends are?” The slug pointed down to the basement, so I walked down there to find the boy and the girl who let me stay working on some sort of invention, both wearing their lab coats. The boy with the blue skin and brown hair and eyes wearing the fedora and square glasses was Dusk Noir. The girl next to him with the multicolor purple hair tied into a bun and purple skin wearing regular glasses was Twilight Sparkle, Dusk's girlfriend. “Maven, you’re back.” Dusk said as he and Twi continued working. “What’s up? Did you enjoy you’re night out?” “Kinda. Got beat in Laser Tag though.” I said, making him chuckle a bit. “Strangest thing: the guy who beat me looked like you, Dusk.” When I said that, both him and Twilight stopped working. “Are you sure?” Dusk asked me as he and Twi looked at me. “Can’t really forget that mug of yours. Brown hair and all. The only thing that was missing were the glasses and your uniform.” I said as he tried to take in all of it. “You think that’s shocking, I saw he had the same logo you saw at that showcase you saw, the Star Logo.” With that, Dusk looked at me with a look that told me he knew this guy. “You know him, don’t you?” I asked him. “Yeah.” He answered. “That guy you met is my twin brother, Husk.” “Hold up, ‘twin?’” I said as he and Twilight didn’t tell me about this. “You’ve got a twin brother?” “Yeah.” He said. “I didn’t tell you because I haven’t seen him in years.” “Guess he must’ve spent his time down in Slugterra.” I said. “He must’ve been the slinger we saw at Canterlot High.” Twilight said. “That would explain how he got that logo.” Dusk said. “But I’m still wondering where he got that Infurnus Slug.” “Wait, your brother has an Infurnus?” I asked. “Yeah, but it’s different.” He answered. “It’s got this strange blue color and had an entirely new transformation. I think it could be a whole new species.” “So he’s a powerful slinger, huh?” I said before I walked over to the trunk I brought up here. “That explains how he beat me at Laser Tag. If he’s as good a slinger like you, then doing that would be easy. Though I think he might’ve had a hard time keeping up with Evening.” “Yeah. I still can’t believe he’s part of a slinger team like that and has an Infurnus.” Dusk said. “I get he’s part of that team if he was in Slugterra, but there’s supposed to be only one Infurnus down there. How could he get another Slug like that?” “Well, you and Twi got those Elemental Slugs, don’t you?” I said as I then opened the trunk and got out that Shadow Clan device I got back in the days. “What’s to say that he couldn’t get one like you two?” “She does have a point, Dusk.” Twilight said as I heard her Elemental Galaxy chirp in agreement. “Yeah, I suppose so.” Dusk said as I also heard his Elemental Nova chirp too and before he spoke to me. “Bet you want to duel him, huh?” “Well, I never thought I would see anyone from the Star Gang again.” Dana said. “Especially up here. Better see what he’s got.” “Well, if you want to face him, you’ll have plenty of time at the Friendship Games.” Dusk said as he held up one of those prototype Shadow Walkers he and Twilight had been working on. “Especially now we can use these.” “Finally got working Shadow Walkers, huh?” I said to him. “Of course.” Twilight said. “How else are we gonna be able to figure out those strange energy readings?” “Speaking of which, have you made that spectra-whatever you guys need for it?” I asked Twilight. “Spectrometer.” Twilight said, correcting me. “And no. We still need to gather more data to make sure it’s there. Don’t want to make a mistake like we did with recreating your Shadow Walker.” “Right.” I said before I started walking back upstairs. “Well, I'll leave you two braincase to it. I’m gonna hit the sack. Night, Dusk. Night, Twi.” “Goodnight, Mave.” Dusk said. “Goodnight.” Twilight said to me as she and Dusk went back to work. After walking back up those stairs, I looked over to the hook where my Crystal Prep jacket hung on the wall with my old wrist blasters. “Husk Noir, the twin brother of Dusk Noir. Well, things just got interesting.” I said. “You’d better be ready, Husk. ʹCause you’re now gonna meet the best thief in all of Slugterra: me, Maven Scallion.” In case you’re wondering, Maven Scallion is the MLP version of Dana Por from Slugterra. She met Dusk and Twilight a few weeks after arriving on the surface and, after she helped them with a certain battle and making up for trying to rob them, they allowed her to stay with them. Now, with the three aware of Husk’s presence on the surface, what will happen next? Find out in Element Gang Equestria Girls: Friendship Games!
