> Chapter 1: The Drake's Home

Spike yawned as he looked around his home, It has been 4 years of peace since Twilight’s ascension. As soon as he stopped living in Golden Oaks Library about a year ago he had an instantaneous growth spurt, he was now easily twice the height of the average pony and with a pair of strong wings not mention his body was covered in muscle. 

Due to Twilight’s increased duties as a Princess and her constant visits to Canterlot he was now the Librarian of the Golden Oaks Library. When he wasn’t working out he delved into books like nothing else as he believed a Librarian should be knowledgeable about what they have in their Library. 

Spike’s house which was constructed by Discord to grow with him as his body grew bigger. Discord told Spike he was only doing it because it would get the “Princesses off his back about making friends” as he put it. It had an in built lava bath as well as a standard shower, Spike’s bed had an obsidian base with a light fluffy white mattress and had several bookshelves next to his bed. 

Spike got up and yawned as he stomped along the carpeted stone floor of his home. He entered the bathroom the only non-stone room in his home. He quickly brushed his teeth, grabbed his bag put a few books he finished then he left for work. As he walked away from his cave house a butterscotch mare with a pink mane trotted beside him “How you going Spike?”

Spike replied “Fluttershy everything is fine except I am a bit lonely. I miss having Twilight around but with her Princess duties growing heavier I didn't want to worry her. I’m glad Discord helped me set up the place.” 

Fluttershy smiled “I’m glad your giving him a chance.” 

Spike smiled back “Well he did help me, anyway I have to get to work. I’ll see you on the way home.”  

Fluttershy nodded “Of course.” She then mumbled “I hope he’s alright even I have my animal friends.” 

Spike opened the library door with his key. He smiled as he saw Twilight frantically running around “I have a talk on transformation magic tomorrow, I can’t find it.” 

Spike smiled as he tossed “Twilight catch” he grinned as she fumbled the book in her hooves for a few moments before grabbing it with her magic “I was brushing up on it last night so I could help, I still miss being you assistant sometimes.” 

Twilight frowned “Don’t throw books around.”

Spike smiled as he began putting the books he brought into their respective positions “I knew you’d catch it and besides you need to loosen up slightly, even Celestia and Luna need a break every now and then I’m sure.” 

Twilight smiled “You have done well with the Library, all the books are where they should be.” 

Spike asked “Have you spent time with our friends of late?”

Twilight grinned nervously “Um no I’ve been flat out for the last month.” 

Spike shoulders slumped “Twilight you need to take some time for yourself.” 

Twilight shook her head “But I have to help the Princesses, it’s my duty.” 

Spike scowled “You are also the Princess of Friendship, you should find time to spend with you friends!” 

Twilight shrunk away “But…” 

Spike sighed “I understand Twilight, but you are a Princess right now, you are equal to both Celestia and Luna, you need to start doing things yourself and being able to say no to them. Just think about it, for the sake of your friendships.” 

Spike then helped her with her report when he was not working with somepony looking for a book, there was probably only 3 or 4 ponies who came regularly. As Spike was going over the checklists one final time, he heard a knock on the door, he groaned “It's that time of day again.” 

Twilight asked “What time of day?”

Spike frowned as he walked over to the door “It’s not important.” 

He opened the door and Rarity trotted in with a smile “How’s my favourite Drake?”

He sighed “Good, Rarity what is it you would like?” 

Rarity smiled “I just wanted to see my favourite Drake.” 

Spike frowned “Rarity please I am not interested, this flirting is meaningless, how many times do I have to tell you?” 

Rarity smiled “Come on Spike you used to adore me.”

Spike sighed “I was a young foolish drake, but I’m not like that any more.”

Rarity grinned “Don’t worry Spikey Wikey I’ll make you mine one way or the other.” Just after she left Spike slammed his hoof into the wall causing the tree to shake. 

Twilight galloped out “What’s wrong?!”

Spike growled “Rarity doesn’t get that I ain’t interested in her anymore yet she turns up every day and pesters me. She doesn’t know how to be endearing and that comes from a drake who spent the back half of his life trying to be endearing to her, show how much she really cares.” 

Twilight frowned “I’ll talk to her about ti the next chance I get. In the meantime you should head home, you are clearly quite stressed you could do with a break for the day.” 

Spike sighed “Your right, I don’t want create a Golden Oaks Pyre.” He left the building as he headed for home.” 

Applejack galloped from behind him “Rarity giving you trouble again.” I nodded Applejack sighed “She doesn’t listen to any of us.” 

She sighed “I just hope Twilight will get around to talking to her, I could use the relief.”Spike got home and ate a few gems before her crashed on his bed which and the he descended into the realm of dreams. 

He opened his eyes to see Rarity standing there, she hounded him “Spike you can’t escape me, you are mine forever.” He began to run only for her to teleport in front of him “There is no escape Spike.”

Spike heard a voice boom “Begone foul Apparition and leave him to his slumber!”

As the nightmare vanished Spike stared at Princess Luna the warden of dreams. She frowned “Why does Rarity trouble you so?”

Spike frowned “She doesn't get I’m not interested in her.”

Luna said “You need to find a partner than, a mare who actually respects you. You need to become unavailable, it is unhealthy for the both of you.” 

Spike sighed “Who would want to go out with a nerdy Drake?” Luna shook her head as the dream realm began to fade. He woke and was just about to start his morning routine when he heard a loud scream from outside.
> Chapter 2: The Magical Houseguest

Trixie was a mess, her mane was filled with twigs and mud. Her coat was covered in mud and she had several cuts across her body. She also had several fierce scars all over her body including a deep gash over right eye. Not to mention she was being chased by Timberwolves. She scowled as she looked around with her left eye “Come on I have been running through this damn forest for hours, where is the damn exit.” 

Her horn was bright red and smoking from overuse, she scowled “Why does this always happen to me?” She finally saw light and burst of the Dark Everfree Forest. Unfortunately the Timberwolves followed her out, one of them burst forward and tore into her back leg, Trixie screamed out in pain as she skidded along the ground. She glared at the Timberwolves that surrounded her “Fine, just make it quick.” 

Then much to her shock she felt a huge wave of wind as something burst past her from the air. She looked up to see a well muscled purple dragon standing there, he grabbed one of the Timberwolves and incinerated it with his fire. Trixie's vision started to blur.  

Trixie woke in a bed and she was in a bed she looked up to see the dragon who saved her frowning “Trixie, why are you here?” Trixie shrunk before him, he sighed “I won’t hurt you I just need to know why.”

Trixie smiled nervously “Um I have just wandering aimlessly for months after Manehatten, nopony wants me around.” She then asked “Um who are you and why did you save me?”

The dragon said “I’m Spike, adopted brother of Princess Twilight and I helped you because I learned from her it’s important for help other regardless of who you are.” 

Trixie's eyes widened “I’m near Ponyville…” she tried to scrambled out of bed only to grimace as pain shot through her body.

Spike scowled “Don’t move, you’re hurt really badly.” 

Trixie grimaced “I’ve been through worse. Now I need to get out of here before you tell Twilight I’m here, and she lock me in a cell.” 

Spike sighed “I will not tell Twilight you were here until are you are well enough to leave this place, you have to recover first.” 

Trixie whimpered “But..”

Spike shook his head “No buts Trixie, still I would like to know where you got all those scars, I mean your right eye is milky white, that ain’t something hat happens from normal injuries.”

Trixie sighed “I do owe you for saving me, very well I’ll tell you it began like this…”


***6 months ago***


 

Trixie was trotting through Manehatten, a green eyed filly with a orange coat approached her amaranth mane sitting firmly on head. The filly asked “Are you Trixie Lulamoon?” 

Trixie raised an eyebrow “Yes I am The Great and Powerful Trixie.” The filly scowled and smashed a rock on Trixie's head causing her to drop to the ground. 

When she woke she was in a pitch black room, she was tied up in a chair and the filly from earlier. The filly was holding a knife, she cut it though Trixie's leg. Trixie screamed in pain as blood began to flow from the wound, Trixie asked “Why are you doing this, I have done nothing to you.” 

The filly frowned “Ya hurt mah cousin Applejack and we of the Apple Family take family very seriously.” She cut wound after wound in Trixie’s body as the unicorn screamed in pain, she then cut a a sharp gash across her right eye. She then untied the bleeding Unicorn and chucked her onto the street. 

Trixie groaned as the young filly trotted past her, Trixie gritted her teeth and lifted herself up from the ground. It had been hours and it was dark, Trixie limped across Manehatten until she arrived at the local hospital, she crashed through the door and collapsed, a doctor shouted “Emergency we have a really badly injured pony in need of medical attention!” Trixie woke 4 weeks later with her body covered in bandages.



***Present Day***


 

Spike frowned “A relative of Applejack attacked you. Hmm I will need to ask about this after your recovery. I will have to go to the library and close it for a couple for weeks while you recover.” 

Spike grabbed his bag and then flew towards the library. He put a sign on the door saying closed and then walked into town to grab some supplies for a guest staying in his home. He walked into Ponyville Proper and arrived at Applejack’s stall, Applejack smiled “Ah don’t see ya often how the new home going?” 

Spike smiled as he tested a few of her apples “Good, I have a guest in my home and I need to gather some supplies, for her to eat.”

Applejack grinned wickedly “You brought a lady home huh.”

Spike frowned “She was attacked by Timberwolves and needs rest and time to recover.” 

Applejack frowned“You have done a good thing for her then, Ah will get you some of mah best apples.” 

Spike smiled back as he took out some bits “Thanks Applejack, this will be a great help.”

Applejack shook her head with a smile as she put apples in a bag “Don’t worry about Spike, take care of yourself.” 

Spike replied as he bits on the table and left “I will, thanks Applejack.” He gathered extra foodstuffs and walked home. 

He put the groceries in the fridge and went to check on Trixie. Trixie immediately asked “Why are you caring for me, I did a lot of bad things to your friends?” 

Spike shook his head “You were hurt and I decided to help you, Twilight taught me the importance of forgiveness. Besides the really bad stuff was because of an evil amulet, don’t worry about it. Anyway I’ll go and make dinner, I’ll be back soon.” 

Trixie looked around the stone walled room, she was bored, she hated sitting still but she knew she had to recover. About 40 minutes later Spike walked in and she squeaked as he lifted her up with both arms, she blushed slightly as he carried her to the dinner table. He sat her down in front of a simple but beautifully prepared salad of tomato, lettuce and beetroot.

She levitated a fork and took her first bite she smiled ‘Wow, this is the best salad I’ve ever had.”

Spike chuckled “Twilight is good at a lot of things but cooking isn’t one of them. Believe or not she once burnt a sandwich I don’t know how she did it, she was just cutting it in half and it set on fire. The worst part is she isn’t the worst cook in Ponyville, she can at least make juice without setting it on fire.” 

Trixie blinked in amazement she had no idea how to respond to that. Spike waved a claw in front of Trixie “Are you okay?”

Trixie shook her head as her brain finally fixed the short circuit “Oh yeah I’m fine, just surprised that’s all.”

Spike smiled “You may one day get used to the town’s crazy antics.”

Trixie sighed “If they don’t try and murder me first.” 

Spike smiled as an idea came to him “Maybe after you recover, you be my assistant Librarian under an illusion spell, that way you may gain some of their trust.” 

Trixie smiled “Maybe I’ll give a try.” She thought (He is very nice, I am glad to have somepony or in this case I guess drake who is being kind to me for reasons other than fame.) 

The pair finished their meal in silence. Spike said “I’m just going to change you bandages.” He went and grabbed the first aid kit, Trixie winced as Spike gently removed the bandages, she saw the bloodied wounds that were certainly going add to her scar count, she started to think she had more scars than fur. Spike then carefully put clean bandages on her.

She smiled “Thanks Spike, I have never had anypony treat me like this before.” 

Spike smiled “Your welcome Trixie, now have a good rest.” 

Trixie smiled “I will, you too.” Trixie smiled as she descended into the realm of dreams.
> Chapter 3: Flight Day

It was Saturday one of the days Spike had off, it was the day he went flying with Rainbow Dash. Trixie had just woke up and he had made some pancakes and put them next to her bed, Spike smiled “I must admit you have been quite pleasant company so far, I’ve noticed your third pony speech has gone.” 

Trixie sighed “I had that ego issue for a while ye, let’s just say it’s hard to keep it up after you have been tortured. I miss being able to see with both eyes.” 

Spike frowned as he saw her right eye, he knew she was lucky she didn’t lose it. Spike said “I have to go for a flight with Rainbow Dash.” 

Trixie smiled “I don’t want to disturb your schedule.” He nodded as he got ready and then took off into the air. Trixie frowned “Why is he so kind? I hurt his friends, it makes no sense.” 

Spike meanwhile was flying through the air, his wings were much larger than a Pegasi almost the length of his body when fully extended. He did enjoy his weekend flies, Rainbow Dash rushed past him “Hey Spike.” 

Spike grinned “Hey Dash, you ready to fly?”

Rainbow Dash grinned “I’m always ready, let’s stop talking and fly.” Spike chuckled and they both took off. Spike decided to start big and lit himself on fire bursting through the air leaving behind a flaming trail which formed a huge flaming dragon skull. Rainbow Dash counted as she burst through the air at full speed leaving a rainbow lighting bolt image behind. 

Spike grinned “Always the show-off.”

Rainbow Dash grinned back “That’s rich coming from mister flaming dragon.” 

Spike smirked “Well I bet I can beat you in a hoof wrestle.”

Rainbow Dash shouted “You’re on!” 

They landed on the ground, Spike wrapped his claw around Rainbow Dash’s hoof. They both gritted their teeth as they began to push, Rainbow began to sweat she continued to push. After about an hour Spike slammed her hoof down, Rainbow Dash groaned “How come you keep beating me?”

Spike chuckled “Stamina, I am a dragon after all.” 

Rainbow growled “I have been doing intensive stamina training but I can’t match you.”

Spike grinned “You also need to improve you muscles mass, you focus on building lean muscle but you need to bulk a little more.” 

Rainbow frowned “But then I will be slower, I pride myself on being fast.” 

Spike shook his head “Speed and strength, you can only be so fast if you want to be strong and you can only be so strong if you want to be fast unless you are of tremendous size. I mean If I was a really large dragon I would have speed and strength but lack manoeuvrability which means I would be unable to perform such tricks as you do.”  

Rainbow asked “So I am best to stick to what I do best?”

Spike nodded “Exactly speed is your thing, strength is mine. You can fly circles around me if you really wanted too.”

Rainbow smiled “Thanks Spike, I was so worried about matching you I forgot was was important.” 

Spike frowned “I may need to cut our day short, I worried about my guest I hope she hasn’t hurt herself.” 

Rainbow grinned “Finally you’ve found yourself a mare.”

Spike blushed “It’s not like that, she’s just a friend.” 

Rainbow smiled “Go and talk to your ‘friend’ then.” Rainbow flew off with a goofy grin on her face, Spike sighed before flying home.

He arrived to see Trixie trying to make herself some food. He saw she was standing on 3 legs. Spike frowned “Trixie, stop.”

Trixie sighed “I’m sick of feeling useless, especially when I have hurt you before.” 

Spike raised an eyebrow “Why do you find my kindness weird?” 

Trixie frowned “All my life I have been treated with disrespect, nopony liked me. I was abandoned at an orphanage and told by everypony I was useless. That I would never amount to anything, I developed an inferiority complex, that I had to prove myself to be superior to everypony around me. After the incident with the amulet I tried to keep doing what I did best, after Manehatten I stopped caring, I gave up on myself.” 

Spike frowned “You are not a bad mare, just bad things have happened to you, accursed amulets, Ursa minors, hecklers and even torture. You have been rather pleasant company once I saw the mare behind the ego.” 

Trixie blushed “I have never received such praise, nopony ever had praised the real me before. The great and powerful Trixie got all the praise, a facade I made to make myself feel better but after the Alicorn amulet incident it couldn’t protect me anymore, so it died.” 

Spike smiled “Don’t worry, I will make sure the real you can flourish where the facade could not.” 

Trixie hugged him as she began crying “Thank you Spike, just thank you.”Spike wrapped her in his arms around her. Trixie fell asleep in his arms, he carried her to bed and let her rest for the night. 

A portal opened up in the room and a version of Discord stepped through, he began healing her wounds, he smiled “Make him happy as your counterpart did me.” He then moved back through the portal without leaving a trace of himself behind.
> Chapter 4: Healing
> --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trixie groaned as she woke up, she looked around. She lifted herself of the bed, she thought she had heard a voice during the night. She shook her head and sat up, she felt no pain as she looked down at her body, she gasped as she realised her bandages had vanished and her wounds had healed leaving scars.

She stood up and decided to make herself breakfast, she cautiously lowered her hoof down and when no pain came she smiled and trotted into the kitchen. Her stomach growled which made her realise she didn’t eat last night. She opened up the fridge in the stone kitchen and grabbed out some lettuce and tomato, and quickly made a simple salad for herself. 

She head the sound of Spike upstairs. Spike frowned as he saw her “Your still recovering, why are you not in bed?” She lifted a leg and he gasped “Your healed, how?”

Trixie frowned “I don’t know, I heard a whisper in my dreams ‘Make him happy as your counterpart did me,’ I have no idea what that means.” 

Spike smiled “Well should we meet him we should offer him our thanks.” 

Trixie smiled “Of course we will if he ever turns up again.” 

Spike smiled “Well, I should open the Library, a lot of ponies need books on various topics so I only have one day off a week.” 

Trixie smiled “Well I’ll help you, I will just create a simple illusion for myself.” She cast a simple spell and her coat changed to a bright red, her mane was a brilliant sky blue and her eyes were like dazzling emeralds, a purple book rested on your flank, she smiled “Say hello to Emerald Books.” 

Spike grinned “Well Emerald we should get going.” The pair grabbed their saddlebags and headed into town, Spike smiled “I will get us some apples.” 

He smiled “Applejack, I could use a couple of apples. I have an assistant for the library, she is a friend.” 

Applejack grinned as she grabbed two apples and put them in a bag “Are ya sure it ain’t anything more?” 

Spike frowned as he put some bits on the table “Why does everypony think that?”

Applejack grinned “Ah just joking with ya, now go and get to work.” Spike nodded and smiled.

Trixie sighed “I will apologise to her later once I am comfortable being the real me in town.” 

The pair entered the Library, Trixie asked “Where is Twilight?”

Spike sighed “She is in Canterlot doing Princess duties again, she has been very busy lately.” 

Trixie asked “Are you okay?”

Spike sighed “I miss her sometimes.” 

Trixie sighed “I’m sorry.”

Spike shook his head “It’s not your fault, now let’s get to work.” 

He passed her a small checklist, Trixie smiled “I think I can handle doing this.” Spike chuckled, Trixie frowned “What’s so funny?”

Spike smiled as he began rearranging the books “Twilight had 50 checklists for running this place, I summarised them on that piece of paper.” Trixie’s jaw dropped, Spike chuckled “Are you just going to stand there or are you going to help?”

Trixie shook her head “Sorry.” 

Spike laughed “It’s alright Trixie, most ponies are surprised by Twilight’s checklists. It is very complicated.” The pair quickly reorganised the Library. 

The sound of knocking came from the door, Spike groaned as he walked towards the door. Trixie followed him and asked “What’s wrong?”

Spike grumbled “Nothing!” 

He opened the door only and Rarity smiled “How’s my favourite stallion.” 

Spike frowned “Rarity stop, I’m not interested.

Rarity rubbed herself against him “Come on I know you want some.” 

Trixie scowled “Leave him alone.” 

Rarity glared at the disguised Trixie “Who is this mare and why is she?” 

Spike said “She is my assistant.” 

Rarity frowned “Than she should keep her flank out of our personal business.” 

Trixie growled “Is it not my personal business that my friend is clearly uncomfortable with you! He has said no multiple times and if you truly loved him you would leave him be!” 

Rarity growled “I do care about him” Spike’s eyes widened as her horn glowed as she lifted Trixie into the air before slamming her into the floor. 

Rarity cowered as Spike roared “RARITY, I HAVE HAD IT WITH YOU, I HAVE TOLD YOU NO MANY TIMES BUT YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR. IF I NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN IT WILL BE TOO SOON!” 

Rarity galloped out of the building in tears. Trixie gritted her teeth as she got up. Spike asked “Are you alright?” 

Trixie grimaced “I’m fine.” 

Spike asked “Why did you stand up for me?”

Trixie smiled “Because your a good friend, you have taken care of me when you didn’t have too. I’m sure you’ll find a pretty mare some day.”

Spike blushed “Maybe, a lot of ponies are scared of me being a dragon.”

Trixie smiled “Well I think you’re great, you are kind, caring and quite handsome.” She blushed as she realised why she said and Spike’s face was as red as a tomato. 

Spike smiled sheepishly “Well um.”

Trixie grinned awkwardly “Yeah.” The pair went back to their work when the pair awkwardly cast glances at the other before quickly turning away. Later that night the pair sat at the table eating together. Trixie asked as she tapped her hooves together “So about earlier?” 

Spike blushed “Yeah.” 

Trixie asked a small blush spread over her cheeks “Um could we um go out next week?”

Spike smiled “Sure.” The two peacefully finished their meal and quickly descended into slumber an hour later, both thinking of what happened that day.
> Chapter 5: Spying on the Spy

2 days had past since Spike and Trixie agreed to go out. Rarity not knowing this was watching the library intently, she saw the Spike and his assistant sorting through the books. She was thinking of schemes to make him hers, three bushes had been intently observing her for an hour, each bush turning to the other for a moment before looking back.

Sweetie Belle frowned “Do you think she’s come up with anything?” 

Scootaloo rolled her eyes in her own bush “No I don’t, she is just being creepy.” 

Apple Bloom asked “Why is ya sister doing this?”

Sweetie Belle stomped her hoof with a fierce scowl “I don’t know!”

Applejack was just trotting through town, she was just about to pass by the Library when a yellow hoof pulled her in. Applejack frowned “Apple Bloom what are you doing here, aren’t ya a little old to be playing hide and seek?” Apple Bloom pointed with a hoof in Rarity’s direction, Applejack looked and scowled “Ah’m going to put an end to this.” 

Apple Bloom scowled “No, we need to figure out what she planning next and stop it. Ya will not intervene me, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle have been watching her closely.” 

Sweetie Belle asked “Who’s with you?”

Apple Bloom replied “Applejack.”

Applejack frowned “Who’s speaking?” 

Apple Bloom rolled her eyes “Sweetie Belle is quite a proficient mage, she cast spells that allow us to hear each other, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle can hear everything Ah’m saying and Ah can hear everything they’re saying.”

Apple Bloom and Applejack poked they're heads out to hear Rarity groan “There has to be some way to get them away from each other.” 

A voice growled “Rarity.” Rarity turned around only for a light blue blur slam into the ground behind her, It was Rainbow Dash. Rainbow scowled “Rarity I thought I made myself very clear not to do this kind of thing, Spike is not your pet.” 

Applejack got out of the bush and approached the pair, she said “How about we discuss this somewhere more private?” Rarity nodded nervously Applejack took the lead with Rainbow at the back making sure Rarity didn’t run off, they didn’t realise however that 3 bushes were following them all the way. 

Applejack grimaced as they entered an empty orchid in Sweet Apple Acres, Applejack frowned “Rarity I thought we told ya to leave Spike alone multiple times, why do ya keep doing this?”

Rarity pouted “Because I like him alright, his attractive and I want him badly. He used to be all over me and I want that back.”

Rainbow growled “That doesn't matter because that is not your choice not make, that is his! You just can’t handle the fact that he has moved on.”

Rarity turned away “I don’t need to listen to this.” She left, Applejack began shouting at Rainbow who began to shout back while three more bushes. 

Later that night Spike and Trixie in her disguise were leaving the library. Spike smiled as they approached a fancy restaurant a black bag hanging on his shoulder. A green earth pony mare with a dark brown mane wearing a fine suit smiled at the pair “I assume you two have a reservation?”

Trixie nodded with a smile “We should be under Emerald Books and Spike.”

The mare smiled as looked down the list “Ah yes, here table twenty on the balcony is ready.” The pair were escorted onto the balcony, the two sat down on a pair of plush seats as the moonlight shone down upon them.

Spike smiled “So what was you life like before you arrived in Ponyville?”

Trixie frowned “My parents were quite capable magicians in Canterlot but I didn’t inherit as much of their magical talent as they hoped, it doesn’t mean I was unsuccessful. I’m sure you heard of the Eagle Sight, Wolf Claw and Flame spells?

Spike nodded “Yes, Twilight told me that they were a poor mimicry of the Griffon Sight, Timberwolf Claw and Fireball spells.”

Trixie grimaced “Of course she would, being the top shot mage she forgets that not everypony can fling off every spell in the book. I designed those spells myself along with countless others so that even a below average unicorn could cast them multiple times without running out of magic, they might not be quite as effective as their much more expensive counterparts.”

Spike’s eyes widened “That’s quite impressive, Twilight is smart but doesn’t put much effort to creating new spells.”

Trixie nodded “Yes making spells of massive power are difficult if you approach it in that manner and beside what good is a spell if only a few ponies could use it. It’s why the Alicorns don’t make spells very often as they aren’t very useful if only four ponies can use them.”

Spike smiled “So what’s the best spell you have created?”

Trixie nodded “I created a spell that the average unicorn could use to create a controlled singularity, basically a object that nothing not even light could escape but you could choose what it sucks in so it only sucks in certain objects.”

Spike blinked “Twilight was really impressed with that one, she said it was a work of a master spell crafter.”

Trixie frowned “Not really, just most unicorns who make spells have really large magic pools and forsake efficiency for power” she then changed the topic “So what do you like doing?”

Spike smiled “I am quite the avid reader, and I do like flying.”

Trixie smiled “Do you think you could show me some time? I always wanted to see the Wonderbolts perform but we were never in the same places.”

Spike smiled “You watch me and Dash when we go on our flight next weekend.”

A unicorn waiter approached with a warm smile “I am ready to take your orders?” 

The pair quickly ordered, Spike asked for an exotic fish dish it much to his shock Trixie asked for the same. Trixie smiled “Fish is something I have grown quite fond of over my years of travel.”

Little did they know Rarity was watching the pair of them from a bush, she was grinning as she held an explosive rune in her magic. One that Twilight had provided her years back after the Changeling invasion “Let’s see if you can stop this?” 

She threw it towards the pair, Trixie saw the rune ignite just before it created a massive explosion only for said explosion to be sucked into a massive pitch black singularity the size of Spike. Several members of the restaurant ran up in shock, Rarity was hopped back into her bush angry that her plan didn’t work. 

A bush then came up behind her bush and pulled in the other bush before scurrying away. Rarity by the time she had time to think was in the Boutique with an angry looking Sweetie Belle glaring at her “What do you think you were doing, that was a grade C explosive rune?!”

Rarity blinked “What does that mean?”

Sweetie Belle facehooved “That means it is a capable of levelling a building!”

Sweetie Belle frowned “I’m staying with Apple Bloom, in the meantime you will stay in this building until I return tomorrow!” Sweetie Belle left, Rarity growled as she opened the door only to bump into an invisible wall. Sweetie Belle l had put a magical barrier around the boutique so Rarity wouldn’t cause a bother.
> Chapter 6: Twilight Returns

Twilight sighed as she had just returned from Canterlot, she hated dealing with politics. She entered the Library only to see Spike with a bright red unicorn mare, she smiled “Who is this?”

Spike was about to answer when the red unicorn frowned as she whispered in his ear, Spike frowned “Alright, we’ll tell you everything come upstairs.”

Twilight was uncertain as she followed the two, she placed a soundproofing spell around the room. The mare’s horn glowed and Twilight’s eyes widened as the red unicorn was replaced with a familiar blue unicorn “Trixie!”

Spike nodded “She was attacked by timberwolves in the Everfree and I helped her, she was injured.”

Twilight smiled “Well that was rather kind of you but she is healed now” she turned to Trixie “What are you plans for staying here?’

Trixie frowned “Well I’m Spike’s assistant in the Library, I’m really sorry about the amulet incident I really am. I only keep up the disguise because I’m afraid somepony is going to attack me, it doesn’t help someone already did with a grade C explosive rune.”

Twilight frowned “Where were you two? There are only five such runes in Ponyville so one of our friends has a lot to answer for”

Spike rubbed his head sheepishly “I was treating her to dinner at the Glittering Goose.”

Twilight smiled “You went on a date didn’t you?”

They both blushed “We didn’t think of it like that but…” he then scowled “Rarity, she must have used her rune.”

Twilight growled “I am going to have some serious words with her!”

Spike frowned “Let me handle this, she needs to learn a lesson. She will listen to me but she won’t listen to you.” Spike leaves the Library and takes off, he lands in front of Carousel Boutique. He walks in to see Sweetie Belle sitting next to Rarity. 

Sweetie Belle frowned “I will leave you two alone, I have a feeling Spike has something to tell you.”

Spike walked over taking seat across the table, Rarity was about to speak but Spike cut her off with a nightmarish glare “I know what you did, that was a Class C explosive rune! Don’t give me that shocked look, I was there when Twilight gave it to you and it’s certainly not something that just any random civilian would own. Even once I grew up I still thought of you as a friend but now … I don’t know if I can call you that anymore.”

Rarity sobbed “B-but…”

Spike sighed “If you want my friendship back you have to earn it, not through bribes but through being a reasonable individual. As one last favour to you I will keep this incident secret but please don’t do it again.”

Rarity sobbed as Spike left only to see Trixie undisguised beside Twilight, Twilight smiled “I have a speech to give in front of the the town hall, I have a feeling you’d want to come.” Spike nodded with a smile, his smile turned to a frown as all of Ponyville’s ponies glare at Trixie.

Twilight steps up onto the podium “I don’t like to use my authority but here I am making an exception” she pulls out a very official looking scroll “as the events happened prior to my ascension I was not able to do this but I pardon Miss Trixie Lulamoon for the events surrounded the Alicorn Amulet due to be under the influence of a dark artefact.”

Lyra shouted “What about the incident with Ursa Minor!” 

Twilight shook her head “As you remember Snips and Snail brought in the Ursa Minor, it is fallacy to blame her for their foolishness.” she then growled “Anyone who physically assaults will be punished under the full force of the law! That is all!”

Spike and Trixie followed Twilight who sighed “I didn’t want to do that but I’m no fool. After how this town treated Zecora they could do worse to you without some ramifications for their actions.”

Spike frowned “I remember that, I understand completely.”

Trixie smiled “Thank you Twilight.”

Twilight smiled “That’s fine just treat Spike right or else I will make what the town will do you seem like nothing.”

Spike stepped in front of her “Twilight why are you saying that!” 

Twilight grinned “I raised you since you were a hatchling, I’m just making sure your future girlfriend doesn’t hurt you. While you were at Rarity’s I booked you a reservation at the Mystical Majesty in Canterlot, I believe it would a good dating spot.”

Spike and Trixie blushed “Thanks Twilight.”

Twilight laughed “You’re welcome” she then flew over to Spike’s ear “Remember to use protection.” Spike’s face set on fire as Twilight flew off.

Trixie smiled “Well we better head to Canterlot.”

Spike frowned “How will we get here, it is a long trip?”

Trixie grinned as her horn glowed opening a large portal “Behold one of my favourite spells for travelling, Dimension Door.” Spike’s eyes widened as the two entered Canterlot. Trixie shrugged “It’s not teleportation but it takes a lot less magic for a greater distance.”

Spike smiled “You are really amazing, you know that right.”

Trixie blushed “Thanks Spike.”

The two approached the restaurant, the stallion at the front stuck his muzzle up “Who are you two?”

Trixie smiled “I believe we have a reservation under Trixie and Spike.”

The stallion frowned as he looked over the list, he looked in slight shock “Forgive me, I never expected to see a dragon invited to such a place. I must admit dragon have been a bit of a problem for my family, I misjudged you.”

The two nodded as he guided them to a table and provided them a menu, Trixie grimaced “I remember this place, my parents used to take me here often.” 

A light blue unicorn mare with a dark green approached, her husband having a mane similar to Trixie's with a red coat. The mare wrapped Trixie in a hug “Your back, I was worried you were going to continue that sill notion of being a showmare.”

Trixie nodded “Yes mum I have given that up but I am not saying long, I’ll be heading back to Ponyville with Spike here after our meal.”

The stallion growled “Why are you spending time with this beast!” 

Trixie growled “He’s a good friend, I may not be alive if weren’t for him. In fact we are on a date!”

Her father looked at her in shock, he scowled as he swung his hoof a her only for a dragon claw to catch it “I suggest you back off!” 

Trixie frowned “I am not feeling this anymore, let’s go.” Her horn glowed as she opened a portal leading back to Ponyville, before anypony could react she pulled them through the portal. Meanwhile in Manehatten a red centaur was skulking around.
> Chapter 7: Showmare's Surprise

Trixie frowned she was sitting in the Library helping Spike sort out books “I’m sorry about my parents, they want the best for me. Their opinions towards are more because they believe you will hold me back from being an important noble but don’t understand I don’t want to be one.”

Spike nodded “I can understand that” he looked outside “hmm it’s getting late Twilight should be home.” 

Twilight landed with a sheepish smile “I just had something I needed to do, I’ll see the two of you tomorrow.”

Trixie raised an eyebrow “Okay that was odd, do you think something’s up?” 

Spike frowned “Maybe but if it was serious Twilight would tell us. For now we should close up the Library”

Trixie gave him a peck on the cheek “Maybe tomorrow we could have a proper date, our date in Canterlot got ruined so let’s have a proper one tomorrow.”

Spike smiled as the two left the Golden Oaks Library “I’d like that.” The two arrived at Spike’s home, Spike smiled “I’ll get on dinner right away.”

Trixie smiled “I’ll be in my room.” She entered the small guest room that she currently resided in, it had a small blue box of trinkets leftover that Trixie used to use for her shows. She sighed as she sat on a small vanity, she looked up with a frown as her horn glowed slightly. The illusion over her eyes vanished revealing two black sclera, one eye was missing any colour while the other had a large vivid red iris “I hope I never have to rely on you but you give me bad feeling when something is wrong.”

Trixie restored her illusion and began reading a few books on magical theory, a few hours later Spike called out “Dinner’s ready!” Trixie nodded as she bookmarked her current book and left it on the vanity, she then trotted out to see a simple fish past on the table.

Trixie smiled as she took a bite “This is quite good.”

Spike smiled “Thanks, I’m glad to hear you say that. I usually on make food for Twilight and her friends, I sometimes worry they only say they like my food to be polite.”

Trixie shook her head “That is not good, Spike you should say something.”

Spike looked away “It’s not something I need to bother them with, I have learned that worrying about nothing only causes problems. This is not major enough for me to bother them with.”

Trixie frowned but dropped the topic as they ate, Trixie sighed as they got ready for bed “I have a bad feeling about tomorrow.”

Spike shrugged “Don’t worry about it, I’m sure everything will be fine.” Those words only driven home the feeling of dread Trixie was feeling, she had to force herself to sleep with a spell that night.

The next morning after Spike and Trixie have breakfast they entered the Library only for Twilight to dart out of the Library without a word, Trixie grimaced “Okay that is not normal.”

They frowned as Rainbow Dash flew over “Twilight told me everyone is to stay in their homes!” 

Spike and Trixie frowned “What’s going on Rainbow?!” 

Rainbow sighed “Twilight told me nothing, look you two stay in the Library for now. Twilight will come back and help us.”

They enter the Library but after a few minutes Trixie pokes her head out to see Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie being drained of their magic by a huge red centaur. Trixie growled as she turned to Spike “I need to help them, your friends just had their magic drained and they are in trouble.”

Spike poked his head out to see Discord get drained as well “How can you beat that?” 

He turned around to see one red eye gazing upon him, Trixie grimaced “The Alicorn Amulet left some side effects, it bound itself to me and started feeding me magic. I learned how to use it so I wouldn’t lose control and then hid with an illusion, it give me a bad feeling before something bad happens, but it is suppressed by my illusion.” 

Before Spike could say another word Trixie vanished, the huge red centaur meanwhile was laughing at Discord “You were so easy to play Discord.”

Discord glared at him weakly “Tirek you…” 

Discord blinked as Tirek was surrounded in a glowing red aura was hurtled into the air, then heard a voice “Die!” He watched as hundreds of red blades flew into the massive centaur before he was sent hurtling back into the ground.

Tirek looked up at the blue unicorn, he saw the red eye glaring at him : and growled “How dare you attack me, I’m Lord Tirek and I..”

Trixie roared “That sentence ends with ‘am going to die!’ Tirek eyes widened as  massive red sword swung at him, he remained completely silent as his vision split in  two as his body fell onto the ground before shrinking as his magic flew off in every direction.

Discord now having his magic restored clicked his claws as the cage around the non-Alicorn Bearers of Harmony was removed, Rainbow flew over to Trixie “That was awesome!”

Applejack pulled her back by the tail as she noticed the former showmare’s expression of discomfort “Ah don’t think Trixie likes that power, in fact that power reminds of when she used the amulet.”

Trixie grimaced “It never truly left, just took a while to start affecting me again.”

Spike flew over “Are you okay, Trixie?” 

Trixie slumped over “I’m worried, what will Twilight say when she sees what happened here I killed him with no remorse or pity.” 

Discord walked over and sat next to them “I screwed up, he made me think he was my friend” he looked toward Fluttershy “when I had real friends all this time.’

Trixie took a deep breath and turned to him “We all make mistakes, you can’t change the past but you can learn from it. Speaking of which where are the Princesses?”

Discord grimaced “I better get them out of Tartarus” a few moments later Celestia, Luna and Cadence arrived with Discord next to them. Cadence frowned “I’m glad to be out but where is Tirek?!”

Trixie grimaced as she trotted over to them “I left him there.” 

Luna’s eyes widened “You killed him, how?!”

Trixie grimaced “I bought the Alicorn Amulet not knowing what it was and it corrupted me. Even after I now longer possess it, it still has an effect on me.”

Celestia turned to her eyes to Trixie when griffon claw blocked her, Spike then put himself in front “I will not allow her to be harmed.”

Just then Twilight they saw a pony fly towards Ponyville, Twilight looked around “Where’s Tirek, is he here?!”

Discord frowned “Tirek is dead, he betrayed me and took my magic. Trixie ended him.”

Twilight shouted “What, we didn’t have to do that! Ponies don’t kill, it’s not our way!”

Celestia shook her head “That is not exactly true, it’s not my way and Equestria followed that for a long time but had my sister ruled it would have much more violent.”

Luna turned to Twilight “Not everyone, some creatures need to face the end of the blade. It’s why me and Celestia ruled together. She was the diplomat and I was the soldier, where her diplomacy failed my blade followed.”

Celestia nodded “Anyway we need to celebrate Equestria’s newest hero.”

Trixie frowned “No, I want this to fade into obscurity. Tell them the one who defeated Tirek vanished before you could congratulate them, this must be kept quiet.” 

Luna nodded “Very well, note if you we ever need help we will contact you as well.” Trixie nodded as she and Spike returned home for their date that night.
> Chapter 8: Second Date

Trixie and Spike were sitting on the balcony of the restaurant they went to on their first date, Trixie sighed her red eye looking at the stars “Spike, I don’t know what to do with myself. I am cursed with this power, some nights I hear the amulet whisper to me.”

Spike frowned “Do you need my help, me and Twilight could find a way to block it out.”

Trixie took a deep breath “It’s fine Spike, I am in control of myself it just likes to insult me sometimes.”

Spike moved his seat over to her and wrapped a wing around her “If you ever need a shoulder to lean on I am here. No voice will keep us apart no matter they say.”

Trixie gave him a small peck “Thanks Spike.” 

Rarity was sitting there in the park her eyes closed. In her own mindscape she saw a furious old and twisted version of herself screaming, it’s red glowing eyes glaring at her “Spike’s ours he belongs to us, we should be up there in that stuck up showmare’s place!” 

Rarity glared at the darker part of herself “I listened to you because you are my anger, my rage control me. I didn’t realise what I had done until I saw her fight Tirek, and I saw something that I hadn’t seen in myself in a long time. I have been greedy and cruel, I don’t deserve to be the Bearer of Generosity anymore. I have to let him go.”

Another younger version of her with a weak golden glow stood beside her “You have made the right decision.” 

Rarity slumped “I know.” She opened her eyes as she returned to the world, she saw Spike up there and turned away “I will see you in the future when I’ve overcome my own jealousy.”

Spike and Trixie had got their food, Spike frowned “Trixie do you plan on going back to being a showmare at any point?’

Trixie shook her head “No, that life didn’t work out for me. I’m happy to settle in Ponyville it’s a quaint little town but interesting stuff happens often enough to keep me entertained .”

Spike smiled “Good, in fact I think it might be good to spend some time around the ponies in this town.”

Trixie sighed “I think I should spend some time with Twilight and the others first, I don’t much about them and I want to learn more as well as formally apologise for everything that I had done.”

Spike frowned “I’m pretty sure they’ve forgiven you know, you saved most of them from Tirek.” 

Trixie nodded “I know but this is for me as well. I need to formally apologise so I can move on as well. I need to move on if I’m going to live here.”

Spike nodded “I understand, maybe it would be good for you to do it tomorrow.”

Trixie nodded “I agree.” The pair continued to eat calmly, Spike gave her a kiss as they headed home. Trixie was leaning on Spike as they entered the building, Trixie smiled as she gave him a kiss “Love you.”

Spike returned the smile “I love you too.” Trixie curled up on the bed, Spike curled up around her covering her with one of his massive wings as they descended into slumber. The pair awoke to the the ground shaking, their eyes widened as they saw a massive crystal castle shooting up from the ground.

Trixie blinked “What the fuck is that!”

Spike flapped his wings while Trixie’s body glowed red, the two took off flying towards the Crystal Castle. Trixie looked down to see the Bearers of Harmony approaching the Castle. Spike frowned as he landed “Where did this castle come from?”

Twilight turned to them “Well Discord gave me the last key to reaffirm our friendship and when we put all of them in the chest it flew here and this castle appeared, we don’t know why.”

Trixie frowned “Okay I’m probably missing some infuriation but Spike can fill me later. As for this castle well Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have Canterlot Castle, Princess Cadence has a castle in the Crystal Empire so I assume this castle is your Twilight.”

Applejack nodded “That does seem to make sense, Ah mean you’re a Princess and all.”

Spike raised an eyebrow as Rarity tried to look anywhere else but at him, Pinkie gave Rarity a quizzical look “Are you alright?”

Rarity took a deep breath as she trotted over to Spike and Trixie “I’m sorry to both of you, I’ve bee horrible to the both of you” she turned to Spike “I believe we need to be away from each other for a time.”

Spike nodded as he was about to speak only for Trixie to put a hoof around Rarity with a weak smile “I’ll forgive you as long as you can forgive me for all the harm I caused to you.”

Rarity shook her head weakly “There is nothing to forgive, it’s water under the bridge.”

Trixie turned to the group to speak only for Applejack to shake her head “There’s nothing to apologised, your actions against Tirek were enough.”

Rainbow grinned “Yeah, you were totally awesome out there!” 

Fluttershy smiled shyly “Thank you for helping.”

Pinkie bounced up down with a widened grin“I need to throw a forgiveness party! I’ll be right back!”

Twilight took a deep breath as the Pink Pony moved at almost incredible speeds  before smiling at Trixie “I already forgave you Trixie, it’s in the past.”

Trixie smiled “Thanks.”

Spike turned to Trixie “I believe you should spend some time with the girls, I have to open the Library.” He gave her a kiss “Have a good day.” He flared his wings out and took off with a mighty flap.

Rainbow began getting inpatient “Come on, I want to see the inside of the castle!”

Applejack rolled her eyes at the rainbow pegasus “We’ll get there, just give us a minute.” The group of six headed in to see a pair of grand crystal stairs leading up to a pair of glistening doors, the group enter a room to see six chairs around a circular mark on the floor.

While the other were stunned at the massive castle, the cogs in Trixie’s mind were turning. She approached the large crystal windows with a frown, she then approached the doors. Twilight snapping out of her reverie raised an eyebrow “Trixie, may inquire as to what you’re doing?”

Trixie frowned “I’m thinking were guards should be placed.”

Twilight blinked “Why would you think I need guards…”

Trixie turned around with an incredulous looks on her face “Twilight, do you know how important having castle staff is?” Twilight shook her head, Trixie grimaced “The fact is if you don’t have castle staff it sends the message that both you as well as the other Princesses don’t your the fact you’re a princess seriously. You got away with it before because you lived in a library but know that you have you own castle you must take these things into consideration.”

Rarity nodded “Unfortunately, Trixie is right. It would cause a political uproar if you don’t acquire staff for the castle.” 

Applejack frowned “I would love to stick around but I have chores that need doing” she then turned to Rainbow “Don’t you have a shift today.” 

Rainbow’s eyes widened, she shattered a window as she flew out accelerating quickly. Applejack following after. Trixie raised an eyebrow seeing Fluttershy leaving with Applejack. She cast a simple restoration spell on the window “Is Rainbow Dash always like that?”

Twilight sighed “More often than not.”

Rarity frowned “Where’s Fluttershy?”

Trixie frowned “She left with Applejack said something about her animals. Anyway we should explore the castle so we can design it accordingly and make sure the future castle staff don’t get lost.”

As they set about that, Applejack who had just returned to the farm was struck by an excited Apple Bloom “Babs is visiting us! Applejack smiled as she and her excited sister headed back to orchards unaware of the drama that would come about during this visit.
> Chapter 9: Babs

Apple Bloom was waiting at the train station, she smiled as a train pulled up and several ponies exited. She frowned as she didn’t see Babs anywhere “Babs, where are ya?”

She felt a poke on her side, she turned to see Babs smiling at her “Hey cuz, how’s everything been.”

Apple Bloom smiled “Everything’s been good Babs, how have ya been?”

Babs grimaced “It’s complicated, Ah just need a place to hide for a few days.”

Apple Bloom frowned as she beckoned Babs to follow her “What’s wrong, Ah’m ya family ya can tell me.”

Babs sighed as she caught up to her cousin and raised her right leg, revealing a massive scar. Before Apple Bloom could say a word, a orange hoof was shoved in her mouth “Ah’ve been on the run for a few months now, a strange filly by the name of Illusia attacked me and has been on the hunt for others like me who possess a trait.”

Apple Bloom blinked “Trait?”

Babs nodded as she focused a glowing yellow orb appearing in front of them “This is mah soul trait, Justice. It allows me to…” Babs instantly pushed Apple Bloom out of the way of a pink blast which slammed her into a wall.

A blue filly with a silver mane grinned her pink eyes glowing “Hello Babs, are you ready to die!” 

Babs spat out blood as she glared at the filly “Illusia, do your worst just leave mah cousin alone!”

Illusia laughed “I can't do that, I need to capture her in order to draw in her sister and thus render the Elements of Harmony, one of the only weapons that can harm me useless.” 

Babs closed her eyes as the pink blast flew towards her, Illusia laughed "I’ve got…” Her eyes widened as she saw a strange body appendage similar to a minotaurs with a hole in the middle filled with green energy “Who dares?!”

Trixie lowered herself from the sky surrounded by six other hands, she turned to Babs “Fancy meeting you here. Now tell me who is this bitch who thinks she fuck with my new home?”

Illusia growled as her pink soul in the shape of a glowing pink orb “I’m Illusia, the Goddess of Fear and I will rule all…” One of the hands glowed red blasting the filly away.

Trixie grimaced “I was practising my ablities when I sensed a huge influx of power, I’m guessing that was her?”

Babs nodded “Illusia is powerful, that attack of yours wouldn’t have killed her. She can regenerate and feed off of fear to grow stronger, there is a limit to it though. She can also created forcefields and has countless other ablities.”

Trixie teleported as a pink spear flew at her and then exploded as it hit the ground, Trixie rolled her eyes as Illusia glared at her “I eliminate all who oppose me and bring this world to ruin, starting with you!”

Trixie rolled her eyes a hundred of pink fireballs flew towards her “I’ll show you power of my hands.” The seven hands flew forward turning red firing a massive blast of red energy that Illusia barely dodged, Illusia then summoned a rainbow machine that fired a huge rainbow laser.

A purple hand flew in front absorbing the attack and firing it back, Illusia was about to dodge but she was wrapped in four light blue strong attached to a light blue hand. Illusia screamed as she was hit by a rainbow blast, she recovered only to see Trixie in front of her “I have never used this before, let’s if it works.”

Illusia pink soul turned blue as she slammed into the ground, her eyes widened as multiple as a massive red blast slammed into her sending her flying. Illusia grimaced her torso was severed her intestines laying there as blood poured out of her body, she glared at Trixie. Her body regenerated itself rapidly, but her soul having regained it’s pink colour was almost completely cracked. She growled at Trixie “I’ll make you pay for this, mark my words!”

Illusia teleported away with a pink flash. Trixie turned to Babs “Okay, in the name of Harmony how did you encounter such a powerful being? Seriously even if there was an army of Tireks at full power they would have lost to that.”

Babs’ eyes widened “Really, then how do we stop her?”

Trixie frowned “I’ll discuss it with the Princesses.” She then smiled “In the meantime you should spend some time with Apple Bloom and her friends, you are safe here.”

Apple Bloom trotted over with a smile “It’s fine, Babs Ah’m more than will to let the adults handle this.”

Babs looked at Trixie in shock “How can you forgive me for what Ah’ve done to you?!” She then turned to Apple Bloom “Illusia almost killed you, how can you just keep going like nothing happens?!”

Trixie shrugged “I did something terrible to your family, besides I have been forgiven for what I did. It would be hypocritical of me to deny you that.”

Apple Bloom rolled her eyes “Do you have an idea how many dangerous near death thing Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Ah do to get our Cutie Marks? Besides Ponyville is weird, it attracts crazy all the time this is just another day for this town.”

Trixie laughed “Indeed, in fact that little bitch gave me some ideas for some new techniques. Don’t worry I will take her out one way or the other.”

Apple Bloom dragged Babs away as Trixie flew off, after a while the two started trotting towards the clubhouse in silence. Scootaloo frowned as the two entered “What took you so long?”

Apple Bloom shrugged “Some crazy filly tried to kill us and…”

Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo grabbed a pair of paddles and in unison smacked heron the flank, she squealed “OW!”

Sweetie Belle frowned “That’s for almost getting killed without us, we know almost getting killed is something we should do together.”

Babs looked at them with a mix shock, and confusion “What do you mean that almost dying is a thing you do together?! It shouldn’t happen at all!”

Apple Bloom frowned “We live next to the Everfree Forest, and quite a few of our escapades end up with thus in there facing down one terrifying creature or another.”

Scootaloo frowned as she looked the list “Aren’t we supposed to foraging for potion ingredients today?”

The trio shouted loudly “CUTIE MARK CRUSADER INGREDIENT COLLECTERS YAY!” By the time Babs recovered from the shouting she was being pulled along in a cart by Scootaloo with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom in the cart. 
After she regained her bearing, Babs frowned as she looked at Apple Bloom “Speaking of which cuz, why didn’t your sister and the rest of her friends appear to blast that creature with their harmony power.”

Apple Bloom frowned “The weird table/map thing in the castle called them away to solve a friendship problem so they are not here. In fact Trixie is the only being protecting this town right now.”

Before Babs could reply they arrived in front of the Everfree Forest and left the cart by a tree. Babs raised an eyebrow at the cart, Scootaloo shrugged “Ponies don’t steal from each other here and it’s sure to get ruined in the Everfree.”

Babs frowned “Why are we going in the Everfree, why are you getting potion ingredients?”

Apple Bloom frowned “Two reasons, one I have been meaning to practice some potions ingredients and two we may get Cutie Marks for collecting the ingredients.” Babs frowned at her blank flank before following the trio.

The group stayed silent so they would not draw attention, Apple Bloom jumped as she heard a howl. Sweetie Belle screamed “Timber Wolves!”

Babs eyes glowed yellow as she summoned a massive yellow hammer that batted the Timberwolves away. The massive wooden constructs got the message, Babs growled “We’re going back to Ponyville!” Her three friends follow her back to Ponyville head low.
> Chapter 10: Informing the Princesses

It had been two weeks since Trixie fought Illusia, Trixie frowned as she sat in throne room of Canterlot Castle next to Spike and Babs. Celestia frowned “Are sure of this? Such a powerful being is beyond any of our comprehension save yourself.”

Trixie frowned “Yes I’m sure, I fought her and we have no idea what she plans.”

Twilight nodded “I trust you Trixie, you would not lie about this. The fact Babs collaborates your story confirms it for me.”

Luna frowned “What should we do about her though, she is so powerful that it would risky to track her down.’

Spike frowned “I believe we need to wait, in truth we don’t have any idea of her motivations. We can’t afford to brash about all of this.’

A serpentine figure appeared in front of them “I agree with young Spike, the power that she emits is terrifying. I have felt such power since the soul experiments done many millennia ago when pony kind was still in it’s infancy and Alicorns ruled the world.”

Trixie grimaced “Discord tell me about these soul experiments, they must have something to do with this.”

Discord frowned “I don’t like discussing these but fine. There were two types of experiments done by the Alicorns, they…”

Luna growled “How dare you insult our ancestors, they would never do such horrid…” Trixie and Twilight cut her off with fierce glares before beckoning the Draconequus to continue.

Discord grimaced “AS I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, the Alicorns did two types of experiments one was live testing, they forced an increased amount of a soul trait into a pony of one of the three ‘lesser tribes’ in order to test the effects. The other was forging artefact based on soul power, they forged seven major artefacts of each trait and multiple minor ones. The problem with the major artefact was they were so powerful they could even drive an Alicorn insane if they used to for long enough.”

Twilight raised an eyebrow “If such artefacts are so powerful what happened to them?”

Discord frowned “Well they were all sealed away in ancient temples, older than even Grogar himself. One, the Curse of Determination however ended up in the hooves of a certain showmare.”

Spike eyes widened “Wait you mean The Alicorn Amulet.” 

Babs frowned “That doesn’t explain what we’re going to do about Illusia. She is out there and she wants my head.”

Trixie frowned at her “It’s because she realised your soul power was a threat but now that I am here she will focus on me. Still it would be good for you to say with the Apple Family. As for what we’re going to do, well it would be best for us to wait until she strikes again.”

Babs shouted “Are you crazy, she need to be stopped! What if she strikes again, she could kills us all.”

Discord frowned “Look, you don’t understand anything.Celestia, Luna and I have years more experience then you. We all agree that this is something not to be rushed into and to be assessed carefully.”

Celestia nodded “Indeed, we can’t rush into this.”

Twilight frowned “I believe we should return to Ponyville, I’ll inform the girls about our meeting but no-one else. We must keep this quiet, we don’t want a panic.”

Trixie frowned “Indeed, I’ll return the four of us back to Ponyville.” Twilight, Babs, and Spike stood around Trixie. The three appeared back in Ponyville, Trixie frowned as she summoned her green hand to block a pink blast.

Illusia was floating there pointed a hoof at Trixie “You know I wanted to take over Equestria but now the only thing I wish for is to beat you.”

Trixie shrugged as she took off towards the Everfree, Illusia followed eagerly. Illusia laughed “So this is where you wished to fight me, very well.” 

Her eyes began leaking out black ooze, she fired a barrage of pink and pitch black blasts. Trixie shrugged as she her red hand fired a huge red beam at obliterating the smaller blasts, Illusia growled as she created a pink poleaxe in one hand and a pink trident in the other an teleported behind Trixie only to slash into a wooden log she then looked around as she saw multiple white dots which turned orange and exploded.

Trixie raised an eyebrow as the injured Illusia “Why are you doing all this?”

Illusia growled “Because I was used as an experiment by the Alicorns, they made me into this monster! Everyone treated me like a monster!” she took a deep breath “I thought that maybe if I took over Equestria I may earn some respect but after meeting you, you are strong and maybe if I beat you I will gain some respect.”

Trixie frowned “I could kill you now but I won’t, the next time we fight I expect you to learn some new tricks.” Trixie disappeared in a flash of light.

Trixie returned to Spike’s home, Spike grabbed her “Are you alright?!”

Trixie nodded “I’m fine but I would like you to assist me, I could use your help as it seem Illusia wishes to be my rival. T o beat me and that means I need to keep ahead of the game so to speak.”

Spike sighed “Well I’m glad that you’re safe” he then smiled “So you want to go out for dinner tomorrow.”

Trixie grinned “Sure, now mind if you can give some ideas for training.”

Spike smiled “Not exactly but I have a feeling Discord could help you train, it sound right up his ally.” Trixie restrained a gulp as she realised that she would have more than a few bruises at the end of the day.
> Chapter 11: Proposal

Six months had passed, Spike and Trixie’s relationship had been going strong. Trixie awoke with Spike laying next to her, Trixie gave Spike a kiss “I have go out and check if she is here again.”

Trixie exited the building only to see Illusia sitting there with a frown “Are you ready for this?”

Trixie nodded “I am, so let’s go to the Everfree and really throw down.” The two flew over the Everfree and both grinned as seven hands circled Trixie. Soon a massive red beam clashed with an equally massive pink beam before created a massive explosion shaking the very fabric of reality.

Illusia gasped as two blue razor blades began homing in on her, only for a light blue string to pull her into one of them. She gritted her teeth a huge red blast sent her flying, she frowned “You win again, I can never close the gap can I?!”

Trixie shrugged pulling her up “Maybe you can, maybe you can’t but I admire the effort. I’ll see you again next week.” Illusia nodded before flying off. Trixie began to wander around the town, she smiled as ponies who once would have scorned her smiled and waved as if she was just another pony.

Trixie walked to the Golden Oaks Library she smiled as she entered “Spike.” 

Spike turned around with a smile as he began placing books on a shelf “Trixie, I’m guessing you beat her again.”

Trixie growled “The fact that Alicorns experimented on her as if she was some kind of tool makes me so made! How could one do such a thing to a foal?!”

Spike grimaced as he climbed down “Quite a few things arrogance, greed or simply a sense of superiority. It’s just like the nobles in Canterlot, all trying to seek power not caring who gets hurt in the process. In fact she needs you, you are helping her heal from the long years of pain and loneliness.”

Trixie raised an eyebrow “By blowing her up repeatedly with lasers, I’m not sure how that helps.”

Spike chuckled “She can heal from that” he then got serious “She has been alone for a long time from what I can tell and you are the only friendly interaction she’s gotten from anypony.”

Trixie frowned “That must be harsh.”

Spike nodded “Exactly but you are helping her heal slowly.” He took a deep breath as he walked over to the table and grabbed a small black box, he smiled a she approached her “I know this may be a bit soon but I can’t think of a better time” he got down on one knee as he opened a small black box to reveal a simple gold ring with a glowing violet gem on it “Will you marry me?”

Trixie eyes widened before squealed as she pushed him over “Of course I do!” He grinned as she gave him a big kiss, he carefully placed the ring on her horn.

Trixie smiled as she got off her fiance with a smile “So, should we start planning?”

Spike frowned “I’ve got to finish up work today but we can plan when I get home.”

Trixie nodded “Fair enough” she then smiled “I better visit Rarity, she may want to make my wedding dress.”

Spike sighed “Tell her I said hi, and inform her that I wish to speak with her again. I’m sick of her hiding from me, we were friends once and I want that back.”

Trixie frowned “I understand I’ll mention it as well.” Trixie left with a slight bounce to her step as she headed towards the Carousel Boutique, she entered the building to see Rarity sowing a dress.

Rarity smiled weakly “Trixie, what are you doing here?”

Trixie cheered exictedly “Me and Spike are engaged, I was hoping you would make my wedding dress!”

Rarity smiled “Actually there is something I want to show you.” Trixie followed Rarity into the back room to see a beautiful blue dress covered in shimmering white stars “I have been working on this for a few months now, this is your wedding dress. Do you like it?”

Trixie gave Rarity a massive hug “I love it, thank you so much. I’m just curious have you got anything for Spike, he want you to be his friend again.”

Rarity sighed “I’ll have something ready for him, I just hope he can forgive me for being such a terrible pony.”

Trixie lightened her grip softly “Spike will forgive you, he forgave me and I did far worse trust me.” Rarity began to sob on Trixie’s shoulder, Trixie lightly patted on the back with a hoof “Let it out, it will be alright.”

After a couple of hours of comforting the unicorn, Trixie and Rarity let go of each other. Rarity smiled weakly “I’m sorry I kept you so long.”

Trixie shook her head before giving Rarity a warm smile “It’s fine, that’s what friends are for. If you ever need to get something off you chest just ask me. I must get going wish you a good night.”

Trixie left with a smile, she returned to Spike’s home to see him sitting there with dinner. Trixie sat down “So, Spike do you know who is to your best stallion?”

Spike frowned “Well I don’t know many stallions, I might go with Discord actually.”

Trixie nodded “I don’t mind. I was thinking Rarity should be my best mare, she needs something right now and I think it would help her. Besides we have been getting to know each other quite well.”

Spike after swallowing his food asked “So who should be the flower filly?’

Trixie smiled “Illusia should take that role, she really needs more support than what she has currently.” Spike nodded with a smile as they continued discussing their wedding plans over dinner.
> Chapter 12: Wedding Plans

Trixie and Spike entered the Friendship Castle with a smile on their faces. Twilight raised an eyebrow as the two entered the room “Spike, Trixie may I inquire as to why you came in so early in the morning?”

Spike smiled “Well, I just proposed to Trixie and…” 

Twilight’s eyes widened before she pulled them both into a hug “Congratulations, do you have a date picked?!”

Trixie nodded “We decided a couple of months from now, I was actually wondering if you would like to be the one to give us the blessing at the altar?”

Twilight smiled “Of course I would! We can even hold the wedding in the castle if you would like?”

Spike took a deep breath “That would help, we were not sure where to host it. It was giving us trouble with the planning actually”

Trixie smiled “Well as much as I would love to stick around, I must inform the flower filly that I am getting married and the get her fitted for a dress at Rarity’s. Spike, I’m sure you can handle informing the caterers for the before and after-party right.”  

Spike smiled “I can.” They both waved to Twilight as they left. 

Trixie flew far into the distance, she arrived in a pitch black forest her red eye watching for danger. Illusia approached with frown her wings calmly sitting at either side “Trixie, may inquire as to what you were doing here?”

Trixie turned around with a smile “I actually have to ask you something, would you like to be the Flower Filly at my wedding. I just need to get you measured for a dress.”

Illusia’s eyes widened as tear began to drip from her eyes “I get a dress, I’ve never had a dress before. Why are you being so kind to me?”

Trixie gave her a light hug as if she was made of glass “It’s because you need it, it was something I always needed and never got. Not from my parents, not from anypony until I met a special drake.”Trixie lifted Illusia onto her back “Let’s go and get you measured for your dress.”

Illusia smiled as the two disappeared in a flash of light, the two arrived just outside of the Carousel Boutique. Trixie opened the door with a smile “Rarity, I need you help with something.”

Rarity came out with a smile “What is it?” 

Trixie levitated Illusia down to the floor “I need you to get some measurements for the Flower Filly so she can have a dress ready.”

Rarity smiled “I know I can do something, her silver mane and blue eyes are to die for.” 

Trixie frowned as he followed them, Illusia looked nervous. Trixie smiled as she placed a hoof on the filly’s shoulder “It will be fine, Illusia. Rarity is a friend of mine, she won’t hurt you.”

Illusia smiled as Rarity began measuring her, Rarity smiled as Trixie “When does it need to be finished?”

Trixie returned the smile “In a couple months.” She then turned to Illusia “I think we should get some food, Sugarcube Corner sells the best cakes you could ever get.” Trixie smiled as the pegasus filly cheered excitedly happy to be experiencing the life of a normal foal.

While Trixie was busy organising the dress for Illusia, Spike was heading towards Sweet Apple Acres. He arrived to see Applejack taking a short breather, he smiled “Applejack, I have something to ask you.”

Applejack beckoned “Go on.”

Spike twiddling his claws nervously “I was hoping you would do the catering for my in wedding in a couple of months.”

Applejack grinned “So ya are finally tying the knot with Trixie, good on ya” she then smiled ’”Ah’ll be happy to cater for the wedding, Ah’ll be there in the crowd. Ah promise on mah honour as an Apple.”

Spike smiled “Thanks Applejack, I have to go to Sugarcube Corner to inform Pinkie Pie. She probably would want to plan the after party and it would wrong not to include.”

Spike entered Sugarcube corner to see Pinkie loudly and animatedly interacted with Trixie who was smiling as Illusia happily slurped at her milkshake beside them. Pinkie was going on and on about different party related things as Spike coughed “Trixie, how is everything going?”

Trixie smiled “Pinkie and I have been going over the reception plans. I assume Applejack is proving catering right?”

Spike nodded “Yes, she is happy for us as well. I feel like everything is going to be fine.” 

Meanwhile somewhere else a pinkish unicorn with a tricoloured mane was growling “Those ponies destroyed my village, my ambition. I hate them, I HATE THEM!”

A black ooze began to slide over her as it‘s sinister voice filled her ears “I can help you, I can help you bring them all down and restore your village to glory.”

The unicorn grinned wickedly “I’m game!”

The darkness smiled “My name is Hatred, and I can grant you power beyond that of gods.”

The unicorn replied “My name is Starlight Glimmer and this is the beginning of our revenge!” Little did they know the effect their teamwork would cause for a single unicorn with a red eye.
> Chapter 13: The Wedding

Two months had past and they wedding of Trixie and Spike was about to begin. Trixie was standing there wearing her blue wedding dress covered in white stars Rarity was carefully brushing her mane “Relax, this is your wedding. Everyone has put their best efforts in for this, nothing will go wrong.”

Trixie was shaking “But what if it does, what if someone comes to ruin our wedding?”

Rarity frowned “That won’t happen, we won’t let it. Even Discord promised to be on his best behaviour, apparently someone had made it very clear that was to happen and they scared him.”

Meanwhile Spike was wearing a black suit jacket with a white undershirt, a black bowtie completing the look. Spike however was panicking, his eyes looking every direction “What if something goes wrong?”

Discord eyes rolled out of his skull “Spike, I am under orders to keep this wedding going smoothly. You have the bearers of Harmony, not to mention the Flower Filly and your Wife-to-be are the most powerful ponies in Equestria and of course yours truly.”

Spike took a deep breath “I’m ready.” Discord nodded as he clicked his claws and the two were at the altar standing in front of Twilight. Applejack and her family were sitting at the front. Babs was even there, Spike wondered if she knew who the Flower Filly was. 

Rainbow Dash looked incredible uncomfortable as she was forced to sit still by the unnervingly serious look Pinkie cast her way every few seconds. His thought were interrupted as he heard the sound of music playing, Illusia skipped down the isle in her dark blue dress throwing flowers across the isle.

Spike put all of his effort to keep his jaw closed as Trixie slowly came into view, her mane was done into a neat braid. He was in awe as her well muscled flanks moved in tandem with the sway of her dress, he was speechless as she approached. Twilight smiled “Ladies and Gentlecolts, today we are all here to witness the unification of two guardians of our community, Trixie Lulamoon and Spike Forblaze.” The crowd cheered, Twilight smiled “Now please give you vows.”

Spike gulped “Trixie, you came into my life when I was very young and we both were very different but you helped me finally confront an aspect of my past as well as give me love in a way that I never thought anypony could ever give me.”

Trixie smiled “Spike you came to me in my lowest moment and despite all the sins of my past, you not only saved from harm but gave me hope for a better future. You showed a way I thought had been long lost for me, so thank you for everything.”

Twilight smiled “Now before we continue does anyone have a reason why this shouldn’t be united in Eternal Harmony raised you hoof now or forever hold your peace” after about a minute of silence she turned to the two in front of her “I by the power harmony vested in me pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.” A huge rainbow explosion filled the air a Trixie and Spike kissed in front of Twilight, Rarity and Discord were hugging as they cried.

Applejack was smiling as were Apple Bloom and Big Mac, Babs was smiling until she noticed Illusia sitting next to her hooves dangling off similar to that strange mare that Apple Bloom told her was Lyra. Illusia turned to her with a sigh “I’m sorry about earlier, I hunted you for months because I thought you were a threat. I hope you can forgive me one day.”

Babs was abut comment when they heard hoofsteps, Illusia smiled “Want to get some food, the after party is starting.”

Babs shrugged “Ah guess, but this doesn’t mean Ah trust you.” 

Illusia nodded “That’s fair enough.” Illusia marched forward head up straight with Babs cautiously following behind unsure of how to deal with the pegasus in front of her.

They entered to see Trixie and Spike dancing in the middle while Fluttershy and Discord were doing the same. Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Apple Bloom were eating sweets at the table. Rainbow and Pinkie were discussing pranking ideas, Rarity and Applejack were discussing the importance of practicality in all aspects of life. 

Illusia trotted over to the sweets table, she took a slice of cake and after taking a single bite she began to cry “It’s so good.”

Babs blinked “Have you had cake before?” 

Illusia shook her head as she swallowed, she slumped “I was a test subject for so many years as they forced a trait into me and then tested it’s effects. I only escaped after Discord’s attacked the lab with a fierce fury, the full power he wields is far greater than anypony realises but he has sworn he would never use his full power unless something world ending arrives.”

Trixie then froze as she felt a malicious force coming towards them, she growled as a Starlight burst through the wall darkness dripping from her pupiless eyes. A huge beam to dark energy shot towards Twilight only for a green barrier powered by a green hand to block the attack.

Trixie frowned as the teleported out of her dress and passed it to Rarity “Take care of this for me.” Rarity nodded as Trixie glared at Starlight bringing all seven hands to fire a massive red blast at Starlight.

Trixie was about to turn away when the dust cleared revealing Starlight unharmed with a malicious grin on her face. Trixie’s jaw dropped in shock, nothing had resisted her attack so easily. She gasped as Starlight had grabbed with a hoof and lifted her up by the neck, Trixie beat her hooves against Starlight only for a blast of rainbow magic to fly towards them.

Starlight laughed as she swung Trixie in front of it, before tossing Trixie to the ground. Spike ran over to her with concern, she grinned as she stood up “I think that helped actually.” Her red eye had changed to a rainbow colour and several rainbow coloured hands blasted Starlight out of the building. Everyone in the building was stunned at the events not aware that a rare event was about to take place.
> Chapter 14: Harmony's Choice

Trixie landed in front of Starlight who had just healed “So are you ready for this?!”

Starlight growled “I am here for my vengeance, those ponies destroyed everything I have put years working towards. I hate them and I hate you for interfering.”

Trixie shook her head “Very well then” a look of fire burning in her rainbow eye “I’m going to bring you down one way or the oaten!” Starlight was about lunge forward until several rainbow blades tore into her from the floor. Starlight telported away before throwing several pitch blacks spears towards her enemy.

Trixie dodged all of them before a bunch of white orbs turned rainbow and exploded around Starlight. Starlight growled as she rushed towards Trixie in a furious rage, Trixie yawned as she dodged the multiple sword swings. 

Starlight’s soul turned blue as she sent flying only to pin herself to the ground with a spear before she flew into a wall of rainbow blades. She dodged a huge rainbow blast, only to wrapped in rainbow string followed by two rainbow disk tearing her in half. Only for a dark gooey substance to reconnect her body together, Starlight grimaced “What now!”

Hatred laughed “Don’t worry, that mare will tire out soon. Her body can’t handle that much harmonic magic for long, she doesn’t have enough power to finish us don’t worry.”

Trixie meanwhile was taking a breath, sweat was soaked into her fur “I can’t keep this up! Why out of all the days, on my bloody fucking wedding day I am fighting for my life!” 

She jumped back as she growled at the Starlight. Starlight grinned “Getting tired are you? It’s not surprising, it turns out your body can’t handle that much power for very long.”

Trixie roared as she powered more power into the hands than ever before and fired it all off at once consuming Starlight in magic. Trixie took a deep breath “Did I do it” a spear piercing through her chest answered her question.

Starlight approached with a grin “You know what, you almost did but it wasn’t enough.” She was kicked onto the ground, she gasped as the spear was removed from her chest blood pooling under her.

She barely saw a pink blast fly past, she felt a claw lift her head up as her vision began to blur as she heard Spike’s voice shout “Trixie, don’t go!” 

She whispered as she clutched at the claw “I’m so sorry Spike, I got overconfident again and now I’m hurting you.” 

Her eyes closed only for a single unfamiliar voice to speak “This is not your end” she felt her body pulled away. She felt a hoof touching hers, she opened her eyes to see a strange realm filled with stars only to see a sparkling version of Twilight “I am the Tree of Harmony, I have been watching you for some time Miss Lulamoon.” The Tree frowned “I have seen what have done under the influence of the Alicorn amulet but I have also have seen the good you’ve done as well, how you defeated Tirek, hoe you defended a filly who wronged you and even more how you gave hope to another filly who was down on her luck.”

Trixie nodded “May inquire as to where I am exactly?”

The Tree nodded “Well this is a special realm, in truth I could have brought a few others here who could have taken this role but you were my choice. You are proof that anyone can change, no matter how dark the path they have been on and soon you will return to the world with more power than before” 

The tree took a deep breath “That mare needs help as she has given in a terrible entity, one known as Hatred created by the residual cruelty and malice of the Alicorns Discord killed in order to stop their experiments, even he had some form of a heart back then. Life is a game to him usually but causing harm like that was beyond even him. Starlight has suffered from a loss early in her life and I believe you can help her.”

Trixie nodded “Okay, I can do that but what am I supposed to do now?”

The Tree frowned as she pointed to a door with Trixie’s cutie mark on it “Go through there and find the truth of why you’re here for yourself.” 

Trixie nodded “Very well.” Trixie walked through the door only to pass countless images of her life the goo and the bad. She blinked a she reached the end when she felt magic envelop her.

Meanwhile Starlight was laughing as she levitated Spike and Illusia in the air above her “I admire you attempt but it was …” She blinked as she saw a flash of light to see Trixie but she was almost as tall as Luna, Starlight growled “How are you alive and where did you go?!” 

Trixie opened her eyes as a pair of massive wing flared out from her sides, Illusia blinked in shock “Those are Alicorn wings!” 

Trixie’s eye opened, it’s fierce red glow gazed upon Starlight. Starlight growled “I won’t lose to you, I will not be denied my vengeance!”

Trixie shook her head “I can’t let you do that, I’m sorry Starlight but your quest for vengeance ends here.” 

A light blue hand bound her in string, then Trixie forced her magic into Starlight’s body. Starlight screamed a small pile of black ooze jumped out of her body, Starlight collapsed to the ground as she begged the dark blob “Help me, Hatred please?!”

Hatred growled “You failed, I have no need for you anymore!” Hatred as about to scurry away on for a pair of pink eyes to glare at the shadowy blob before a pink blast obliterated it.

Spike frowned “So, Trix what should we do about Starlight?”

Trixie shook her head “The Tree of Harmony wants me to care for her, to the point it made me an Alicorn. Besides from what the Tree said it seems she is suffering from her own trauma, trust me Spike on this ponies are very friendshippy unless they are either A Canterlot Snobs or B very disturbed, judging by her behaviour I would guess the later.” Trixie placed Starlight on her back and the three flew back, two using magic and one using their wings.

Illusia frowned as she flew behind Spike and Trixie “So what now, you’re Alicorn. Doesn’t that mean you are a Princess now?’

Trixie frowned “No, at least I hope not. I have enough problems dealing with my  parents” she then turned to Illusia “how would you feel if I took you in?”

Illusia shook her head “I’m not sure, I have never had somepony care for me. Why are you even doing this for me?”

Spike gave her a weak smile “We want you to live the life of a normal filly. We will be your guardian giving you a home and shelter so you can enjoy a normal foalhood.”

Illusia frowned “How about this, I stay with you for a couple of weeks. Maybe after that I will make a decision?”

Trixie nodded “Very well, I think we can do that. In the meantime we need to deal with her.” 

Illusia and Spike frowned at the unconscious unicorn on Trixie’s back, Illusia frowned “I assume you want to give her a second chance, fair enough I guess. We can always stop her if the need came to it.”

The three of them landed in the castle room to see everyone concerned, Rarity galloped over first “Is everything alright… and why are you bigger?”

Trixie rolled her eyes “Not exactly, almost dying is not fun not mention that I’m bigger because of these.” Everyone gasped as she flared out her mighty Alicorn wings, she frowned at Rainbow Dash “You will teach me how to use these I hope?”

Rainbow Dash shook her and grinned “Of course, those wings must be able to do some really fast flying.”

Rarity frowned “Doesn’t this mean you’re a Princess?”

Spike frowned “Trixie doesn’t want to be a Princess, she has made that clear to all of us. Besides she bigger things to do such as care for this one.” Spike lifted Starlight off of Trixie’s back.

Rainbow growled "Why did you bring her back here? You should have obliterated her, she tired to kill us!”

Trixie’s red eye glowed deeply “It seems the Tree of Harmony disagrees with you Rainbow Dash, it gave me these wings and it wants me to care for Starlight here. I will respect Harmony for saving from death.”

Applejack nodded “Ah understand, but what do we do now.”

Trixie frowned “I’ll discuss some things with our attacker here and then I’ll come up with some answers” she then turned to Spike “Can you please take Illusia home and re-purpose the guest room to be Illusia’s room.”

Spike nodded “I can do that” he then smiled “Are you ready?”

Illusia’s eyes widened in shock “I get my own room, I’ve never had my own room! Let’s go!” Spike gasped as he took off following the excited filly through the skies. Illusia slammed in front of Spike’s home “I’m staying here.”

Spike blinked “You were so cautious were we first extended the offer, why are you so excited now?”

Illusia sighed “Because I thought it was too good to be true, I’ve betrayed by many ponies before. I had tried to make friends over the centuries but each and every one betrayed me within a few weeks. Still I couldn’t hold back my excitement at having something that I had longed for.”

Spike nodded “That does make sense, anyway let’s get you settled in.” Illusia nodded as she entered the building with a grin. The two entered a small room with a simple bed.

Illusia pounced on the bed with a smile “This is my bed, it’s so soft.” 

Spike chuckled “Well I’m glad your happy, tomorrow we’ll enrol you in the local school” he frowned “Just please don’t hurt anypony while you’re there, Cheerilee wouldn’t be happy about that.”

Illusia nodded “That’s fair, I am not a fool. I have not got this far with just exploding  everything that annoys me, I tried that once it went poorly.”

Spike blinked unsure whether that should comfort or terrify him, he shook his head “Well, I need to help re-purpose this room to you liking so…” He blinked as the bed was covered in pink blankets, he blinked as posters of random types began to cover the walls. Illusia then slid under the blankets and within seconds was snoring loudly.

Meanwhile Starlight groaned as he looked around “Where am I, Hatred where are you?”

Trixie stated “Illusia destroyed Hatred, it’s gone now” she frowned as Starlight’s eyes froze in headlights “I’m not going to hurt you but you are my responsibility, the Tree of Harmony ascended me to help ponies like you or at least that’s what I think.”

Starlight blinked in shock “You’re not going to kill me?”

Trixie frowned “No, I have a duty to you. Now you and I are going to discuss your problems one a time starting off with the Cutie Mark issue.” Starlight slumped knowing she had to explain everything to the Alicorn in front of her.
> Epilogue: New Beginnings

Illusia was humming to herself as she followed Trixie towards the Ponyville Schoolhouse. Trixie smiled “We are almost there, are you ready?”

Illusia nodded “I don’t believe I’ll have any trouble, I am quite old and petty words mean little to me.” 

Cheerilee smiled “Miss Lulamoon it’s a pleasure to see you on this fine day, what can I do for you?”

Trixie looked down at Illusia “I was hoping to enrol Illusia in your school so she can make some friends. She has had a rough life and I want her to experience the life of a normal foal.”

Cheerilee’s smile widened “Of course come this way. You’ll just have to fill out some quick paperwork.” 

After the paperwork, Trixie crouched down with a smile “Are you sure you’ll be okay on your own?” 

Illusia smiled “Of course and I if I get into trouble I have the communication crystal.” 

Trixie stood up “I would love to stick around but I have a mare who I need to talk to.” 

Illusia nodded as Trixie dissapeared in a flash of light, Cheerilee nodded with a smile “Illusia, I’m going to introduce you to your classmates.” Cheerilee then entered the room “Hello students, today we have a new student this is Illusia.”

Illusia entered with a smile “Hello everypony, I hope I can make some new friends.” Every student in the room cheered as Illusia took her seat. 

Meanwhile in Twilight‘s castle Starlight was nervously sitting with Twilight who was reading a book at the table. What probably was making her nervous was Rainbow’s fierce glare, as soon as Trixie entered the room she felt a presence huddling behind her. Trixie turned back quizzically for a few moments, she then turned around looking at each pony in the room before seeing Rainbow’s Dash’s glare.”

Rainbow Dash let out a shriek as she was suddenly pulled towards Trixie rapidly, Trixie's red eye looked over the pegasus “I made it pretty clear yesterday she is being given a second chance and I’m sure the Princess of Friendship agrees with my statement.”

Twilight looked up “What is going on?”

Applejack commented “Rainbow was giving Starlight the stink eye” Rainbow glared at her only for her to respond “I was being honest, you were.”

Before Rainbow could comment Fluttershy in an unusual display of bravado that she usually lacked frowned “I’ll take care of Rainbow.” She then grabbed Rainbow by the tail and took to the air dragging her brash friend out the window with ease.

Rarity frowned “So what now?”

Pinkie bounced up and down “We throw her a party!” 

Twilight raised an eyebrow “I’m not sure that’s a good…”

Trixie smiled “Pinkie, you do that. I believe if we are going to help readjust to pony society what better way to do that than with a party.” Trixie rolled her eyes knowing the future would be interesting for all of them.
