"Hello readers, I am the Narrator of these stories, and that is who I want to call me, at least for now." The mysterious voice said
"What stories you may ask? Well the stories of Gods and Monsters of course. I'm sure all of you horror fans remember this famous line said by Dr. Pretorius in the film "Bride of Frankenstein". Sure in your world monsters are nothing, but fiction and are used for entertainment. But during these stories that you are about to read you may begin to question what is real and what is fake. You're wonder why I'm telling you this why it's because in this reality those monsters that you call "Universal Monsters" are very real and very different than the way that they were depicted on screen. Sure there will be some things that the movies may get right about them, but there are more differences than there are similarities. I'm afraid I can't tell you what those differences will be, but I can assure you that you will be highly entertain by these stories."
"As i said before you will begin to question what is real and what is fake. As Professor Abraham Van Helsing once said "I may be able to bring you proof, that the superstition of yesterday can become the scientific reality of today". So the way that I'm going to show you how these monsters may very well exist in your own world is by retelling the classic monster movies that you all love and telling them in a way that will keep you up at night questioning your knowledge about the world you live in. One more thing during these stories there will be three intermissions where I will tell you documented stories of these monsters. Some of the stories will be old and some more recent that you think."
"There is a two things that you must know before reading. One is that we will delve deeper into the quote "Of Gods and Monsters" and see what that really means. The other thing is that you must be able to read this with an open mind and be able to question everything in these stories. Every line, every word, and of course the mythology that will be expanded upon each story that I tell."
"There is another thing that you must understand about these stories and this series. There will be no references to other monsters or events in each story unless it's important to the story. And there will be no "post credits scenes" or bonus chapters for these stories as are pointless and will contribute nothing to these stories as far as advancing the story or it's characters."
"There is one more thing that I must tell you before we begin, once you start reading there is no turning back, right here is the last chance you have to walk away from this story. Because once we start there is no escape and the more stories we get into the more you will question reality."

"I feel sorry for those who didn't think their mind wasn't strong enough to question reality. But for you readers who's minds are strong enough I welcome you. And now for your first story and I'm sure you can guess what it is based off of this old poem:
"Even a man who is pure in heart And says his prayers by night May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms And the autumn moon is bright"
"That's right the first story that will be told will be based off of The Wolf Man. The role was originally portrayed by Lon Chaney, Jr. The poem that was used above may have been used in the Wolf Man movies a lot and seemed like a throwaway line in those movies, but in this story it will mean something. Now in the films the Wolf Man was exactly that a male, but in this story the pony the gets the curse is female. Who is it you may wonder, well you're just gonna have to read to find out. Ladies and gentlemen I give you:
"Welcome readers to the first of many stories." the mysterious voice said "As you know we are about to delve into the story of The Wolf Mare. Now a few things before we get into which pony will be in the staring role. First this story will be completely different from the 1941 movie. One of the differences is that we will delve more into the mythology of the werewolves and how exactly the curse is transferred from one to another. At the same time the story will keep some of the things that made the original movie so special."
"So, I am proud to tell you that there will be one returning character that played a major role in the Wolf Man films. This character will be ponified in order be exist in this world. And that character is Maleva the Gypsy. I am happy to say that Maleva the Gypsy will have a more important role in this story than she did in the films. Because we will explore her backstory more including how she came upon so much knowledge on the cruse of the werewolves."
"Now finally it's time to reveal the pony who will be playing the part of the Wolf Mare, and that pony is
"That's right Starlight Glimmer will be playing the role of The Wolf Mare. In this story Starlight will portray the role of The Wolf Mare differently than how Lon Chaney Jr. portrayed The Wolf Man. Without spoiling anything, all I will say is that the wolf inside her will bring out her darker side."

In the year 2019, 22 year old Starlight Glimmer just graduated from Canterlot College and was about to start her first post college summer by going to visit her father and rediscovering the town she grew up in. Unknown to Starlight, her trip home will come with many surprises such as supernatural beliefs and a mare who seems to have captured her heart. THE WOLF MARE
Starring: Starlight Glimmer Coloratura Maleva the Gyspy Firelight Sunburst Wind Rider Chancellor Neighsay --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Sire's Hollow Train Station One Week Later)
Starlight stepped off of the train and began the long walk to her father's house. After an hour of walking and remembering her childhood that she spent here. She walked up to the house and knocked on the door. The door opened and she saw her father, Firelight, standing there with a smile on his face.
"Welcome home, Starlight." Firelight said as he hugged his daughter.
"I'm glad to be home dad." Starlight said as she hugged him back.
"Come in we have so much to talk about." Firelight said to his daughter
Starlight then entered her childhood home and took a look around the living room which was the same as she remembered it.
"Hasn't changed much, has it?" Starlight as she looked around the house
"Not in the 8 years that you've been gone, with the exception for a few rooms that have been redecorated. That reminds me do you remember your old friend Sunburst?" Firelight asked
"Yeah, of course I remember him." she said with a raised eyebrow
"Well he heard that you were coming home, so he may stop by and say hello." he said smiling
"Hopefully, that's all he's coming here for." she said while rolling her eyes.
"What do you mean?" her father asked curiously
"Well how do I put this he's hopelessly in love with me." Starlight with a deadpan look on her face
"What makes you think that." her father said as he looked at her curiously
"Because during my time at college he was consistently mailing me love letters and each time I rejected them." she said
"Why?" he asked
"Because I don't feel the same way about him that he does about me, besides I'm more into mares than stallions." she said
"Well, at least let him come to say hello." he said
"Fine." she said sighing
"Anyway I think you should take a look around town and reconnect with the ponies here." he said
"Alright, dad I'll go put my stuff away in room and head out." she said as she hugged her dad and headed to her room
Firelight stood there with a smile on his face glad that his little girl is home.
Later that day Starlight decided to take a look around town as she hasn't been around in years. During that time she noticed a family market and decided to take a look inside. As she opened the door into the shop the bell rang above the door.
"Hello anypony here." Starlight called out through the store
"Yes, I'll be right with you." A voice from the back room called out
"Hello" Starlight started to say, but she suddenly stopped as she got a full view of the mare.
At that moment time stopped for Starlight as she got a better look at the mare. The mare had a light gray coat, a black color for her mane and tail with blue highlights, and her cutie mark was a star with music notes surrounding the outside of the star. But what caught her attention the most was her opal color eyes. As she stared at her, Starlight heart started to beat very fast. She eventually came out of her frozen state when the mare at the counter started to talk to her.
"Good afternoon, ma'm I'm Coloratura, how may I help you today?" The mare said
"Hi I'm Starlight." Starlight said introducing herself to the mare
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Coloratura said to Starlight "May I be of any assistance to you?"
"Yes." Starlight said a little too quickly but continued on "I mean yes you may assist me."
"What can I help you with?" Coloratura asked her
"Well you see I just decided to stop by and see if you had any......umm jewelry." Starlight said quickly to fine any excuses if it means spending a little more time with this mare
"Well what kind of jewelry are you interested in?" Coloratura
"Umm."
Starlight was panicking to find something to say to the mare until she saw a rack of necklaces displayed behind the mare and said
"A necklace."
"Well then kind of necklace would you like?" Coloratura asked her
"Well let's see what you have." Starlight said smiling at her
Starlight began to browse around for a necklace that might appeal to her. But so far all the necklace she's been seeing were not to her liking. She was about to give up when suddenly she saw a necklace in the showroom glass container that really caught her attention. She walked up to the glass container to get a better look at it. The necklace had a some kind of silver mold of a dog on the front and behind the dog was a weirdly shaped golden star. The image was hanging by a silver chain.
"What can you tell me about this." Starlight
"It's one of the oldest one we have available. It was said to have been made back in the 15th century. I'm actually surprised its still in great condition all of these years later." Coloratura
"It appears that it has a mold of a dog on the front." Starlight
"No, that's a wolf." Coloratura said to her
"A wolf?" Starlight
"Mmm-hmm. " Coloratura said nodding her head
"A wolf and a star." Starlight said curiously
Are you interested in it?" Coloratura asked her
Starlight was about to answer, but continued to stare at the necklace, as she was getting a weird feeling from it almost like it's calling to her.
"Excuse me ma'am?"
Starlight then snapped out of the trance when she heard Coloratura calling out to her
"I'm sorry I guess I zoned out for a bit, what did you say." Starlight said to her sheepishly
"I asked you if you were interested in it, and by the way you were looking at it i can tell you are." Coloratura said with a little smile on her face
"Yes I am." Starlight said taking one last look at it before asking "How much?"
"Well then, that necklace is priced at eighty bits." Coloratura said, her smile getting a little bigger
"Eighty bits, why?" Starlight asked
"Well, that's a very rare piece, it shows the wolf and the pentagram, the sign of the werewolf." Coloratura
"Werewolf?" Starlight asked "What's that?"
"That's a pony who, at certain times of the year, changes into a wolf." Coloratura
"You mean, runs around on all fours and bites and snaps and bays at the moon?" Starlight said jokingly
"Even worse than that, sometimes, why do you think that people referred to the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood as a monster sometimes." Coloratura said with a serious look on her face
"So your telling me that Little Red Riding Hood was a werewolf story?" Starlight asked while rolling her eyes
"Of course, there have been many others. In fact there's an old poem about them that everypony in this town knows."
How does it go." Starlight asked now interested
Coloratura had a smile on her face as she said "It goes like this,
Even a pony who is pure in heart and says their prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright"
"Wow."
That was the only word that came out of Starlight's mouth as she was captivated by the poem.
"That's the reaction of most pony who hears the poem for the first time." Coloratura said amused by the reaction of Starlight
"But, I do have one more question regarding this necklace." Starlight said to her
"What's your question." Coloratura said curious as what question the mare was going to ask her
"What's this pentagram business?" Starlight asked curiously
"Oh that's easy." Coloratura said "Every werewolf is marked with that, and sees it at the bottom of their next victim's hoof."
"Look if you're trying to scare me out of here you're not getting very far, I'll take the necklace." Starlight said as she handed her the right amount of bits for it.
"I'm not trying to scare you I'm just trying to get you to admire it, just like how your admiring me." Coloratura said with a smirk on her face
"Wait, what?" Starlight asked nervously
"Oh, don't act stupid during your short time here I've seen the way you have been looking at me, and I've got to say It's kind of cute watching you blush every time I look your way." Coloratura said with a flirtatious look on her face
"Well I, um." Starlight started to mumble as she couldn't get her words out
Coloratura started laughing at the way Starlight was reacting to her.
"Well how about we get to know each other a little better." Starlight finally said
"Like a date?" Coloratura asked wide eyed
"Sure, if you want it to be." Starlight said smiling at her
"OK, but I get to choose where we go." Coloratura said smiling as well
"Where would you want to go for our date." Starlight said as she walked closer to her
"Well, there is one thing." Coloratura said getting closer to Starlight as well
"What is it?" Starlight asked smiling at her
"Well a group of gypsies are setting up camp tonight." Coloratura said to her
"Gypsies, huh?" Starlight asked tilting her head at her
"Yes, they're fortune-tellers, they pass through here every summer." Coloratura said "You know, I haven't had my fortune told in years and I really want to go." Coloratura
"Then why don't you go?" Starlight asked curiously
"Because I want to go with somepony who has captured my heart." Coloratura said whispering in Starlight's ear
At that moment Starlight heart starts beating very fast and she starts to get a very visible blush on here face as she continues to listen to her
"I've been searching for my special somepony for years, but I could never fine the right one. But now I believe I found her." Coloratura said
"An who is this luck mare?" Starlight asked flirty to her
"I'm talking to her right now." Coloratura said being flirty as well
"Well, your in luck because I'm single, but that might not be the case if you keep flirting with me." Starlight said jokingly
"Flirting who's flirting, I'm not flirting." Coloratura said innocently
Starlight was starting to like this mare more and more.
"Yes you are." Starlight said playing along
Coloratura laughed and said "Tell you what. We'll take a little walk tonight, see the gypsies, talk it over and if your a good girl then maybe you will fine yourself in my bed later."
Coloratura smiling as she said the last couple of words seductively to Starlight who in turn was smiling dreamy at her.
"OK, what time?" Starlight asked
"Time?" Coloratura asked not understanding what Starlight is asking
"What time do you want to meet up for our date." Starlight said making it clearer for Coloratura
"How about 6." Coloratura said
"OK then, see you at 6." Starlight said
As starlight turned to go she felt a tap on her shoulder she turned to face Coloratura who said
"You forgot two things, first your necklace." she said as she handed Starlight her necklace.
"And what's the other thing I forgot." Starlight said smiling as she took the necklace.
"This." Coloratura said
Then she pulled Starlight close to her as she closed her lips with her own. Starlight eyes widen but slowly closed as she wrapped she hooves around the mare who is currently kissing her. Then eventually separated and Coloratura, with a smile on her face, leaned in and whispered seductively into Starlight's ear
"You'll be getting a lot more then kisses later tonight."
Starlight smiled back at her and began walking towards the door as she looked by she saw Coloratura waving goodbye so she decided to do the same.
"Bye" Coloratura said as she waved goodbye
"Bye" Starlight said as she exited the store
As Starlight walk out of the store she felt like the luckiest mare ever. then she put the necklace she brought over her head and had it hanging on by her neck. Then she trotted home to prepare for her date tonight, unaware of the events that are about to take place that will change her life forever.
My apologies to my readers, but due to my college exams I am force to push part 2 of The Wolf Mare from the end of May to the end of June. This will also give me time to plan out the world that I am creating. Thanks for understanding and stay tune for updates.
