The Night Comes Alive
The sun sets over the Williams’ farmhouse. Inside, Megan packs up her backpack. Soon her mother comes in.
“Megan,” Mrs. Williams said, “have you packed your new pajamas?”
“I sure have.” Megan answered as she closed up her backpack. “But, why do you want me to go away for the night?”
Megan’s mother gives her the answer. “There’s going to be a lot of farm machines plowing fields near here at night. Me and your father can sleep through it. But, we’re afraid you can’t”
“Is that why Danny and Molly are spending the night with relatives?”
“Yes. I don’t think they could sleep through it either.”
Megan grabbed her backpack, and headed outside. She looks at the sky with a bit of worry on her face. Mrs. Williams walks by to cheer her up.
“Mom,” Megan nervously stated, “is this a good idea?”
“Calm down, honey.” Mrs. Williams replied. “I thought you’d like to spend the night in Ponyville.”
“It’s a good idea. But, how would Twilight and company react to it?”
Just then, they both something in the sky coming their way. It was a deep blue alicorn with a glittery mane and tail. Mrs. Williams recognizes the alicorn. “Thanks for coming, Princess Luna.”
“It is my pleasure, Madam.” Luna replied. “Rest assured that your daughter will get a good night’s sleep.”
Nervous and unsure, Megan slowly climbs on Luna’s back. Luna’s wings expand as she prepares to take off. “Hang on, Megan. Here we go!”
Luna takes of into the sky with Megan holding on. Mrs. Williams watches from the ground.
“See you tomorrow, honey.” She said quietly.
Going through clouds, Megan and Luna glide into the sky. Luna looks below and gets Megan’s attention. “Ponyville below!”
Soon, Luna lands. Then, Megan gets off.
“Thanks for the ride, Luna.” Megan said with relief.
“My pleasure, friend.” Luna replied. The alicorn flies off to Canterlot Castle.
Megan soon sees where she was taken to. “Oh my. Twilight Sparkle’s castle. Well, here I go.”
Megan walks to the castle when she got tackled by something big and pink. It turned out to be Pinkie Pie.
“Hi, Megan!” Pinkie cheered. “Welcome to Ponyville!”
Megan shook the cobwebs off and saw her welcoming committee. “Pinkie Pie! You sure know how to greet a visitor.”
“I sure do!”
Rarity came out to see what’s going on.
“Pinkie,” Rarity exclaimed, “is your cheering necessary?”
“I have a good reason.” Pinkie explained. “Look who’s here.”
Rarity soon saw Megan brushing herself off, and is pleased. “Hello, Megan.”
“Hello, Rarity.” Megan answered. “I hope you don’t mind an overnight visitor.”
“Not at all, darling. We were all expecting you.”
Inside the meeting room, Megan sits very nervously. Twilight notices this. “Are you okay, Megan?”
“I feel a little uneasy.” Megan answered. “I understand why my mother wants me to stay here tonight. But, I’m not sure if I’ll ever get any sleep.”
“That is a problem.”
“You seen more shaky than the tail of a rattlesnake.” Applejack figured.
“I’m afraid you’re right, Applejack.” Megan muttered.
Rainbow Dash walks up to the nervous farm girl. “Don’t worry, Megster. You’ll be okay.”
Later that night, Megan is in a guest room wearing a pair of magenta and blue striped pajamas. Long sleeve shirt and capri style sleep pants. Looking at the bed, she wondered if she’ll get any sleep.
She hears a knock at the door. “Who’s that?”
The voice of Fluttershy answers Megan. “It’s me, Megan.”
“Come in, Fluttershy. I’m decent.”
Fluttershy enters the room and greets Megan.
“What brings you here, Fluttershy?” Megan wondered.
“Somepony wants to see you.” Fluttershy answered.
“Right now? Just when I’m ready for bed?”
“Don’t worry, Megan. This will be worth your while.”
Megan thought about it. And, decides to go along with her. “Okay, Fluttershy. Just let me put on my slippers.”
A minute later, Megan walks outside the castle to see Luna standing proudly in the night.
“Luna?” Megan yelped. “What brings you here?”
“I know a way to help you relax.” Luna andwered. “I was just on my way to my favorite place to relax. This time, I’d like to take you with me.”
“Me? Really?”
“Hop aboard. And, you’ll be amazed.”
Megan climbs on Luna. Soon, they fly off. Luna took Megan to a location outside of Ponyville. Inside a forest of trees, Luna lands. Megan got off and wonders about where they are.
“What it is place?” Megan asked.
“Someplace very special.” Luna answered. “Follow me.”
Luna and Megan walk through the forest. It was very quiet. Megan looks around and is amazed.
“This place is pretty good.” Megan said as she removed her slippers and carried them.
“I’m glad you like this forest.” Luna replied. “But, you’ll really be impressed with where we going next.”
The two travelers made their way out of the forest. Megan’s eyes really widened from what she saw.
They arrived at a majestic valley. There was a beautiful pond, a lovely waterfall in the distance, and fireflies flying about.
“Wow!” Megan gasped. “I never knew a place like this exists. It’s beautiful.”
“I come here sometimes when I want to relax.” Luna explained. “Admiring the view relaxes me. As well as listening to the waterfall and crickets and frogs that come along.”
Megan soon heard the chirping of crickets and the ribbiting of frogs. “You’re right, Luna. It feels so magical here. Especially with those fireflies around here.”
Luna sees the fireflies as well. “I agree with you, my friend. They are a pleasant sight at night.”
Megan sits cross legged on the grass enjoying this quiet moment.
“There’s something here you’ll also appreciate.” Luna informed as she looks up to the night sky. “This.”
Megan looks up, and sees what Luna is talking about. “Wow. The full moon and this starry sky.”
“That’s correct, Megan.”
The two friends enjoy the valley, as well as each other.
“This is beautiful, Luna.” Megan praised. “Thank you for bringing me here.”
Luna gives a warm smile to Megan. “You’re welcome, my friend.”
Megan and Luna both enjoy the beauty of this quiet valley. Later, after returning to Ponyville, Megan lays down the bed of the guest room. And, is very relaxed. Pulling the blanket over herself, Megan settles down for bedtime.
“Good call, mom.” Megan said quietly to herself. Soon, she falls asleep. The next morning, the sun rises. Megan is still sleeping when Applejack comes in.
“Rise and shine, Megan!” Applejack called out loudly.
Megan opened her eyes quickly, then sat up.
“Morning already?” Megan said groggily. “I slept like a baby last night.”
Applejack was happy to hear that. “I guess that trip you and Princess Luna took helped you relax. Didn’t it?”
“Sure did. My mother knew what she was doing when she sent me here.”
“I guess so. Time to get dressed. Pancakes will be served in ten minutes.”
Applejack left as Megan got out of bed.
“Last night was one of the most amazing nights I ever spent in Ponyville.” Megan said to herself. “Or anywhere in Equestria for that matter.”
