A Reminder Of Hope Part 1| Prologue
By, serenityx

"It’s clear to see that time hasn’t changed a thing. So, just what do you think could ever take you off my mind?"

Drip, drop, drip.

It was raining. It was raining and Sunset Shimmer was making her way to the parking lot. She was humming a quite beautiful tune as well.

Time to get home and see Twilight. My favorite part of the day.

She opened the door to her car and started the engine. She made her way out of the parking lot and onto the street.

Beep Beep Her phone had just received a notification.

Sunset whistled to the music on the radio. Nothing like some music to brighten the mood.

If Pinkie Pie were here, she would make this into some type of party for sure. Sunset laughed at the remark of her old friend.

When you and your friends graduate High school and you all go off to different schools, it's hard to stay in touch. It was the year after college had ended and everyone was off doing their own things.

If you haven't caught on by now, everyone except Sunset and Twilight. They became a couple at the beginning of college freshman year and have been getting closer ever since. They live together in a decent house. It’s in a good neighborhood which is sort of close to both of their jobs. So it's technically perfect.

Are they married? No. Do they act like it? Yes.

Those two are inseparable. Their each others soulmates. Not only have they been through thick and thin together, but they know and understand each other like nobody else.

In fact, the person Sunset keeps the most in contact with besides Twilight is Rarity. About every three months she calls and checks in. That girl has always loved to gossip. Anyway, Sunset believes Rarity's just waiting for that Instagram post saying 'we're engaged!' so she can start working on their outfits.

Sunset rolled her eyes just thinking about it. However she was thinking about proposing early in spring. It's currently autumn at the moment.

Beep Beep Sunset's phone vibrated again.

It always occurred that it never had to be her that proposes. Though, Sunset has gotten use to taking charge in the relationship. Planning dates and stuff like that. Twilight does it time to time but it’s Sunset prefer. She just loves to see the smile on her girlfriends face when she surprises her. It's like the cutest thing ever to her.

Sunset and Twilight do a lot of things together when their not working. Basic couple things... basic nerd things...

What? They're still geniuses! They've won the science fair how many times? Hm.

One thing they both hate: seeing the other upset. Thankfully they do end up cheering the other up in the end anyway. That'll never change.

Am I right or am I right?

Beep Beep and again.

Eyes on the road Sunset.

One thing they both love: Each others affection! Cuddling is always the answer with this couple.

You know Sunset Shimmer right? Smart, pretty, brave, outgoing, fun, nice, compassionate? Yeah, it's pretty much the same in their relationship. She's like the teaser and leader.

Smart, pretty, stubborn, dorky, laughable, nice? Twilight Sparkle? You know what I'm talking about. She's more of the gentle person in the relationship.

Get the gist? Kay.

Beep Beep

They could stare into each others eyes for hours.

Beep Beep

They'd make-out right in public if they wanted to.

Beep Beep

"For crying out loud! Would you shut up stupid phone?!" Sunset kept one hand on the steering wheel and reached down for her phone which was laying on the passenger seat.

What's that rule? The uh, no texting while driving rule?

She successfully grabs her device, turns silent mode on, and looks back up at the road. She groaned while she turned her window wipers on. The rain was getting her front window mildly foggy.

Sunset attained focus back on the road and adjusted her foot on the gas. Easy as cake.

Zzzzztttt Zzzzztttt A minute later her phone made a different noise. It could be because it was on vibrate or she was getting a call.

"Ugh, I swear if this is my boss," Sunset picked up the phone.

She pressed the green answer button and adjusted to her work voice, "Hello, this is Sunset Shimmer speaking."

"...Sunset, It's just me."

"Twilight? Sorry, I couldn’t check the name."

"It's alright. Hey where are you?" She asked.

"I'm on the road, stuck in traffic."

"Right, okay. I was-"

"Baby, can I call you back? Sorry, there's just bad traffic and it's raining out," Sunset said.

"Sure."

"Okay because I don't want to get into a—" Sunset's words were cut off when she felt the car swerve. She tried to gain control back of the steering wheel but it was spinning all over. Not only that but the squeaking of the tires were unbearable on the wet street.

Sunset hit the brakes hard! Soon to realize that she accidentally hit the gas instead. Before she knew it, her vehicle drove straight into the car in front of her, damaging the whole hood. It was a chain reaction and the truck behind her came slamming into the back of hers. Sunset jumped and the whole back window shattered as her head was knocked into the steering wheel.

Sunset was out cold.

When the car finally stopped moving the air bags reacted too little too late. She should of probably got them checked. Sunset's forehead was bleeding and there was glass all in her car. Traffic had stopped and there were multiple people dialing 911. The other drivers were hurt but nothing seemed to be wrong with them. Besides that they were furious about their damaged cars. This is why people get insurance!

This could be total deja vu or just plain luck but Sunset's phone was still on the line with Twilight's.

"Sunset? Sunset, can you hear me? Talk to me! Please!"

Soon, all you could hear was crying on the other end...

There were lights. Bright white and yellow lights.

Was this what dying felt like?

Beep

Oh for the love a god! Again with the beeping? I guess this isn't heaven.

It felt as if she was moving of some sort. Like being pushed in a baby stroller.

Sunset's eyes began to slowly close again.

***

"Will she be okay? What happened to her!"

"Ma'am, I understand your scared but you need to let Ms. Shimmer rest," The nurse insisted.

Twilight balled her fists up. "Don't you ma'am me! I'm staying and I want to know now what's wrong with her and who's responsible for this!"

She shook her head. "Are you two related in anyway?" The nurse asked

Twilight loosens her fists. "No..."

"You may stay with your girlfriend Ms. Sparkle. When she wakes up, she can decide if she wants me to share these with you," The nurse said. She then made her way towards the exit

Twilight rolled her eyes. "Ugh," she turned to face Sunset, who was sleeping on the hospital bed.

There were some stitches where the cut had been but had been covered in a bandage. Twilight's eyes started to water and she sat on the edge of the bed.

"Please wake up Sunset. Y-you can't leave me," Her watery eyes had now turned into a waterfall of tears.

If only we weren't talking on the phone, this would've never happened...

Twilight put her hand on Sunset's cheek "Babe... i'm so sorry."

"I love you."

There was now hope in the room. Sunset could hear Twilight's cries out to her.

I love you. she repeated to herself, eyes still closed. I-I don't...

Sunset's fingers wiggled showing she had some control. Twilight gasped at the movement.

"Sunset? Are you waking up?" Twilight whispered with a tear stained face.

Sunset's eyes opened up one by one. Her vision was coming into focus again.

"Oh my gosh! Yes! You don't know how happy I am right now," Twilight flung forward and hugged her girlfriend. Sunset started coughed rapidly.

"Sorry sorry!" Twilight apologized.

"...Twilight Sparkle? Is that you?" Sunset asked finished coughing.

Twilight smiled. "The one and only. Welcome back babe."

Babe? When did Twi start calling me that? Oh, girls call their friends babe sometimes I suppose...

"Uh hey," She finally replied back.

Twilight took Sunset's hand in hers. "Do you remember what happened?"

Sunset didn't know why Twilight was embracing her like this. Though, it felt right somehow.

"What do you mean?" Sunset blinked.

"You got into a car accident. That's all I know," Twilight explained.

"But... I don't have a car..." Sunset said confused.

Now Twilight was confused. "Yes you do."

"No I don't."

"Yes."

"Nuh uh."

"I’m not buying this. You were just driving it!" Twilight yelled.

Sunset tilted her head. "You must of saw somebody that looked like me. Now answer me this, am I in a hospital? How'd I get here?"

"You were in a car accident like I said before. We were talking on the phone on your way home from work when suddenly I heard loud crashes and bangs. You almost gave me a heart attack!" She told her, raising her voice.

"...From the Sushi place?" Sunset recalled her old job.

Twilight stared at her. "Huh?"

"Nevermind. When was this?" She asked.

"Yesterday afternoon. It's now the next morning."

Sunset's eyes widened. "Yesterday? I need to start packing! I can't believe I got into a car crash on the day of all days. Was I driving your car or Fluttershy's? I'll pay for the damage, I just need to get outta here!"

What a minute, Sushi place? Sunset's old job back in... highschool?

Twilight let go of Sunset's hand. "Sunset... what day do you think it is?"

Sunset had to think before answering, "We just graduated High school yes? It's the end of summer break," Sunset said.

Oh no no no no no no!

"And, You know who I am right?"

"Twilight Sparkle? My best friend since freshman year. Duh."

NO!

"Agh! That's not right Sunset! After your car accident I'm assuming from those bandages you had to come back and get stitches on your forehead. So that means you would've had to hit your head. Which means..."

"No Sunset that was four years ago! We just graduated from college!" Twilight said.

"What? You're joking. Are you saying I have some kind of amnesia?" Sunset cried out.

Before Twilight could answer Nurse Redheart came into the room.

"Good morning Sunset Shimmer. I see you have woken up. Has Twilight filled you in on everything?" She asked.

"Yes ma'am. I think so," Sunset answered.

The nurse nodded. "Great. I'd like to check up on a few things to determinate if your free to go."

Nurse Redheart took normal things like Sunset's temperature and blood pressure then recorded it on her papers.

"Are you feeling dizzy? Do you remember the other drivers you hit?" Redheart asked.

Sunset put her hand on her head "I have a bad headache. I can't remember anything ma'am."

Twilight could swear she was about to cry again. The nurse's eyes grew wide.

"What's the last thing you remember?"

"Uh going to sleep I think. I remember graduating and sleeping over at a girls house. She had pink curly hair," Sunset recalled.

"You mean the graduation party at Pinkie Pie's?" Twilight asked.

"...Yes! Pinkie Pie's." Sunset remembered.

The nurse sighed. "Oh dear."

"Twilight says we both graduated college this year. Is that true?" Sunset asked her.

"It appears so. Sunset you're 23 years old today." The nurse affirmed.

Sunset's eyes started to water "I-I don't remember anything that has happened to me! Your saying I got into a car crash and fine I believe you. But how do you expect me to know what I need to be doing or where I live?"

She looked around. "Where's my phone? I need to call Flash."

Flash? This is just peachy! Twilight thought.

The nurse clicked her tongue on the roof of her mouth. "Your girlfriend will fill you in on that I believe." She pointed to Twilight.

Girlfriend!? Sunset screamed in her head.

"What are you talking about?" Sunset shot right up only to feel a deep pain in her head. "Ow."

The nurse laid her back down and unscrewed the bottle of painkillers. "Take this."

Twilight handed Sunset the paper cup of water and went over to the nurse. "Can I talk to you for a moment?" she whispered.

Twilight and Redheart went out into the hallway.

"She doesn't remember me! Correction, she remembers me but not as her girlfriend! I bet she wanted to call Flash because they were dating back in High school. She doesn't even remember breaking up with him the last day of summer," Twilight started crying again.

Nurse Redheart could tell she was hurting. She put her hand on Twilight's shoulder and spoke again, "I'm so sorry Twilight. Sunset doesn't seem to recall anything in the last four years. However her memories can return in due time. With your help, anything can trigger it."

Twilight sniffed. "Should I even tell her we're dating? Won't it cause confusion?"

"You should tell Sunset absolutely everything that has to do with you two. Most importantly because you live together," she answered.

"Okay. How long do you think before her memories are restored?"

"It can be anywhere from days, months, to years."

"Years!?" Twilight said shocked.

"Yes."

"I can't wait that long! I love her!" Twilight yelled.

"I know you do. I know Sunset deep down still loves you too. Feelings don't just go away," The nurse exclaimed.

"What do I do when she wants to speak to Flash? HUH? They were both completely heartbroken when they had to break up. She loved him back then and that's where she is now!" Twilight blabbered.

"I think if she asks, you should let her call him. Like I said, anything can trigger Sunset's memory," She reminded her.

There was no use in arguing anymore. This wasn’t the nurses fault.

Twilight sighed. "Thanks I guess. For taking care of my girlfriend."

"It's my job," the nurse smiled. "Look, I just have to fill a prescription for Sunset and then I'll get her release papers. Stay put and I'll be back."

Redheart turned and left while Twilight took a deep breath before going back into the room. When she entered, Sunset saw tears running down her face.

Sunset fake smiled. "So, uh, we're dating?"

Twilight came and sat on the edge of the bed again shocked. "Yes. You believe me?"

"How serious is it?" She asked, dodging that particular question.

Twilight took Sunset's hand and squeezed it. Sunset didn't pull away. "Very serious."

Sunset frowned. She doesn't know how to feel right now. "Wait, I'm sorry, are you saying I'm in love with you?"

She nodded. "We're an us Sunset," Twilight's cry turned into waterfalls again. She was sobbing and hiccuping every once in awhile.

Sunset never doesn't like seeing her friends girlfriend cry. Obviously she met a lot to Twilight. Many things can happen in four years. "Hey... don't cry."

Twilight looked over. Sunset's sweet voice has always comforted her. Though she didn't want her pity, she wanted her back.

"If we did really fall in love with each other, I'm not surprised. I've always felt connected to you Twi. I thought it was just the fact that you were my best friend. I guess it was more than that..." Sunset smiled not knowing where she was going with this.

All Twilight wanted was to feel Sunset's soft lips on hers. She wanted to grab her girlfriend and kiss her passionately. Twilight couldn't bring herself to do that... not like this.

"Maybe you can help me remember. I would at least like to try to remember what brought us together. I'm pretty much a good listener. So just fill me in on everything, then I can put the pieces together. Did I mention that I'm really good at puzzles too?"

Twilight giggled shaking her head. "I'm trying to be serious here."

"Too early for sarcasm? Tell you what, on the ride home, everytime I make a: not funny to you kind of sarcastic joke, you can flick me," She said, wiping a tear off Twilight's face.

She nodded.

Twilight drove Sunset all the way home basically explaining to her the story of how they got together. Sunset laughed at some of the awkward moments but on the bright side: she never got flicked once.

"No offense, but that was the cringiest first date I've ever heard about."

"You said it was the cutest first date you could of ever been on!" Twilight told her.

"I did? I'm so sappy at age twenty three," Sunset commented.

Twilight groaned. "Says the one who threw a fit when she got pizza sauce on her shirt that night."

Sunset dropped her jaw ."Okay, spill it. You didn't bother to mention that part because?"

"Fine. You thinking the night was ruined, I grabbed a napkin and poured some of my water on it to wipe your shirt off. But when I reached across the table the cup spilled on me and I ended up getting soaked," Twilight admitted.

Sunset bursted into a fit of giggles. "Alright alright, note to self: pizza is a bad first date."

"You're going to regret making fun of this later," She sighed.

"Yeah... you're probably right. Do you seriously expect me to believe we spent the rest our first date conjugating verbs though?"

Twilight rolled her eyes. "It technically wasn't part of the date. We got home and realized we forgot about the test that was on Monday so we stayed up all night testing each other."

"We are total ner—" Twilight shot a quick glare at Sunset, making her unable to finish that sentence "I mean... that was so cute!"

"Yeah, you better stick with that," Twilight couldn't help but laugh on her own. Sunset soon joined her.

When they made it to the house, Sunset was finally finished acting like a child and decided to take everything in.

"So this is where we live?" She asked.

"Uh huh," Twilight answered opening the front door.

Sunset walked in, "Wow. It's nice."

"Yeah. We picked it out together. It always felt like home."

"You're right. It does feel like home," Sunset said breathing in the air.

Twilight took of her coat and set her bag down. "Would you like anything to eat?"

Sunset thought Am I hungry? "Yes, I could eat. Thanks."

"You don't have to thank me Sunset," Twilight made her way into the kitchen.

Sunset not knowing what to do now went and sat herself on the couch. All this was new to her, besides the fact that it wasn't.

Me and Twilight are together.

We live in this house.

And we’re in love.

Many things were going through her head right now. She was trying to process but it was like a big gray cloud flew over her brain and wouldn't go away.

"When did I fall in love?" Sunset asked herself. "Ugh."

About five minutes later Twilight came in with two hot sandwiches.

"Cheese and tomato for you. Cheese and ham for me," Twilight placed the plates on the mini table in front of the couch.

"My favorite!" Sunset said happily taking the grilled cheese off the plate.

Twilight giggled. "I know."

After Sunset took a bite, she spoke again. "Have you always been this good to me?"

"Uh... yes?" Twilight replied.

"Thanks- I mean I appreciate it," Sunset smiled.

Twilight nodded and dug into her own sandwich.

***

By the time night came around, both Twilight and Sunset were very tired. They had just watched TV and ordered Chinese for dinner.

"So this is our bed?" Sunset asked making it into the bedroom.

Twilight sighed. "Yes. If you want I could sleep on the couch if you're not comfortable."

Sunset didn't want that. "No uh it's okay. We're fine."

"Okay..." Twilight felt very awkward. "I'm going to change. Make yourself at home," She left going into the bathroom.

Sunset looked around the room. She couldn't help thinking that this was where she had been sleeping for the past years. Shaking her head she made her way over to bed taking a seat. It wasn't long before Twilight came out of the bathroom in a long nightgown and her hair tied up. When she spotted Sunset on the bed something struck her.

Oh god... She felt tears running down her face again

"Twilight? What's wrong, are you okay?" Sunset asked.

"I'm sorry, t-this is stupid," Twilight sniffed.

Sunset felt concerned. "What is?"

"It's just that... uh..." Twilight eyed the bed. The memory of her and Sunset making love for the first time popped into her head. It was on the very bed they slept in and knowing that Sunset didn't remember made her start hurting again.

Sunset looked down on the bed confused. Then it hit her and she jumped off of it. "I'm so sorry! Is this uh, sacred ground?"

She squeaked "Yes! ...I mean no!" Twilight sighed.

Twilight sat on the bed where Sunset once was then sighed. "It's our sacred ground."

"...Oh" Sunset sat next to Twilight and put her hand on her shoulder "I understand why your sensitive to that. If I'm telling the truth, I'm a bit shocked and weirded out myself."

Twilight swung her arms over Sunset and embraced her in a tight hug. "I don't think I can handle this!" she said still crying.

Sunset could only sit there letting Twilight sob into her. "I-I know."

Twilight released her arms "No you don't know! You don't know because you can't remember! We've been through so much together Sunset! When I heard that you crashed on the phone last night, I almost had a panic attack. Then when I saw you in the hospital like that- I was so scared you weren't going to wake up. Then you awakened and all I wanted to do was grab and kiss you Sunset. But I can't! You left me alone! I'm all alone and I can't."

Sunset stared blankly at her not knowing what to say. Her friend has gone through so much today and it was all her fault.

It's all my fault.

If what Twilight was saying is true, then Sunset believes her. She's always trusted Twilight. Together or not, her feelings mattered to her. She wasn't going to let Twilight suffer just because she couldn't remember.

"You're not alone. You still have me," Sunset said.

"Do I really? The doctor said it could be anywhere from days to years before your memories restore. What are we suppose to do until then? Start over?" Twilight asked.

"I guess... I guess so," Sunset agreed.

Twilight shook her head in disbelief "You're joking right?"

Sunset rested her head in her right hand "No. You're right Twilight, I can't remember. I know 'starting over' isn't exactly what you want right now but if it can help me realize I'm in love with you, then I think it's what we should do."

Twilight looked at her.

"I never- I mean I don't like seeing you cry," She corrected. "So please smile for me Twi."

Twilight released her breath. The one she didn't know she was holding and smiled at Sunset. In fact, she gleamed at her knowing that there was still hope for their relationship.

Sunset poked Twilight's side and teased "There it is! I knew it was in there somewhere."

The girls both laughed at Sunset's teasing. The road they were taking was going to be rocky. Hopefully they planned for a few bumps along the way.

"Sorry for all the bad remarks and jokes too. I guess I wasn't taking it as seriously as you wanted me to," Sunset said.

"No I get it. You couldn't help yourself. I'm just glad to kind of have to back," Twilight smiled.

It was the next morning in the Shimmer and Sparkle house and Sunset was looking at herself in the mirror. She didn't expect herself to be... so grown. It was only four years she didn't remember, but it felt so much longer. It was hard to wrap her head around everything that has happened. She broke up with Flash and moved on with Twilight, their other friends have moved on, she graduated from college, and she's working!

Thankfully, with the doctors help, Sunset has a temporary pause with her job to see if her memories would come back anytime soon. She couldn't work if she didn't know what she was doing. Twilight however, took off work again to stay home with Sunset.

"Are you just going to admire yourself all day?" a voice said to her. Sunset turned and saw Twilight stood there with her arms crossed.

"Sorry," Sunset rubbed her arm.

"Only kidding," Twilight said coming up to her.

"So uh don't mind me asking but what do we usually do together?"

Twilight had to think about this question before giving a reply, "I guess it's just erratic."

Sunset nodded. "Oh okay," she said before placing herself of the couch.

Twilight went back to the bedroom and grabbed her shoes. She then went back to the living room and slid on her coat. "Come on."

Sunset lifted an eyebrow. "Where?"

"You, me, going out," She answered. Sunset blinked. "Ugh just grab your jacket and let's go," She groaned

Sunset had been quite the whole car ride. Actually that's a lie. She spent most of it humming to some new tunes on the radio. The key word: new. New to Sunset that is, but old to the world. When the car stopped Sunset noticed they were parked in front of some cafe'.

"This is our favorite place to go and relax. The food here is quite tasty for its price. Not only that, but it's cozy and sometimes they have music playing." Twilight explained before stepping out of the vehicle.

Sunset took off after Twilight making sure to not lose her. When they entered, a happy looking women with sunny yellow skin and snow white hair greeted them in.

"Hello Twilight! Good to see you Sunset!" she spoke.

Sunset tilted her head. "Do I know you?"

"Sunset, this is Lemon Hearts. I'm guessing she doesn't ring a bell?" Sunset shook her head no and Twilight turned back to Lemon.

"She uh... recently got into a car accident and she's stuck with amnesia for a little while."

"Oh dear! That's just terrible!" Lemon exclaimed.

"Yep, just my luck," Sunset said sarcastically.

"We're getting there, just taking it one step at a time. Sunset wanted to get out of the house so I thought, why not bring her here," Twilight said.

Lemon Hearts nodded. "Well, you two do come here often."

"I was hoping it would job some memory but I guess it was a lost cause," Twilight sighed.

"No Twi, this is great. You're trying your best and that's all that matters," Sunset hugged her, making Twilight jump in surprise.

"Aww you two are just adorable! I remember when you had one of your first many kisses right here," Lemon gushed.

The couple blushed in response then released their hug. Kissing Twilight did seem like something Sunset wouldn't mind doing. She always found her attractive.

Lemon Hearts snapped her fingers and a timber skinned teenager with short purple hair rushed over. "Yes ma'am?"

"Take these two to their seats," She ordered and turned back to Twilight. "I'll be back with your food after you order."

"Thanks Lemon. It's always good to see you," Twilight smiled.

"Likewise, and the pleasure is all mine! Wishing you the best of luck Sunset Shimmer."

Sunset gave her a thumbs up in response before she walked away. She reminds me of Pinkie Pie. I bet they would get along great too.

"Follow me ladies," the waitress said bring them to a booth of the left side of the cafe'. When they had a seat she spoke again, "You can call me Ginger Snap. I'll be serving you today! Can I get you started on any drinks or would you like to order?"

"We'll take the usual please. Lemon will know what we mean," Twilight answered with Ginger writing it down. Sunset wondered what she had ordered but shrugged it off knowing she'd find out later."

"Any drinks?"

"Can I have a pomegranate iced tea?" Sunset ordered. Twilight was taken aback by Sunset's unusual request but stated her drink anyway.

"I'll take a water."

Ginger Snap nodded and left the booth with everything written down.

Sunset tapped her fingers on the table, "So... we come here a lot huh?"

"Yes. We really like the atmosphere here," She replied.

Sunset looked down. Why am I so nervous? It's not like this is a date or anything. Was it? They were surely a couple, but was going out to their usual cafe' to hang out considered a date?

I do feel a connection with this place. She thought.

"It was over there."

Sunset was brought back into reality. "Pardon?"

Twilight pointed to the couch by the window in the back of the cafe. "That kiss Lemon Hearts was talking about. It was right there."

Sunset stared at the couch. She tried to remember the moment but that gray cloud still hung over brain. She really wanted- no she needed to remember. However fate apparently didn't want the same.

"I'm sorry, I don't-"

"I didn't expect you to remember it. I just thought you should know," Twilight interrupted.

Sunset smiled. "Thanks, Twilight."

A little bit later there drinks had came along with their food which Sunset had found out was a share of spaghetti bolognese with a side of mozzarella sticks. Sunset admitted, it was a bit weird sharing a meal at first but she was getting use to it. Then she brought up something Twilight didn't expect but then again knew was coming.

"Twilight can I ask you something?"

"...Of course you can. Anytime," Twilight replied worried.

Sunset gulped before asking. "What happened between me and Flash? Why did we break up?"

Twilight didn't say anything. Sunset never brought up Flash up since they left for college. Hearing his name made her her heart ache.

"It's just that, I remember us being so happy. No offense or anything. To be honest, you out-level Flash any day. I just have to know because... I just do ya know?" She explained.

Twilight nodded. "It was mutual. We were all growing up and it was time to move on. It wasn't easy for you two at first and you face-timed like everyday for about two weeks after it. I'm not gonna lie, you were heartbroken over the whole thing. Then one day you just woke up and all that sadness seemed to have vanished. You said you weren't going to spend the rest of your life sulking and this was the new you."

Sunset took a sip of her tea and processed. That seemed like something she would say. "That must've been hard. I appreciate you telling me."

"Like I said Sunset: anytime," Twilight smiled.

By the time night had fell around, Twilight and Sunset were in their bedroom watching a movie. Still in their clothes, they were sitting on opposite sides of the bed not too far away. Sunset seemed to enjoy the film. It's not everyday when you get to rewatch one of your favorite movies with the same suspense you had the very first time you saw it. Yet, Twilight seemed to have something else on her mind.

"Sunset..." she said suddenly.

Sunset flinched then looked up at Twilight. "Yes?"

'You- You know I love you right?"

Sunset heard Twilight say that at the hospital. Was she willing to accept it? Hesitating she reached over and took Twilight's hand in hers. "Truly."

Twilight squeezed her hand in comfort. "I will never give up on you Sunset."

"That means a lot. Honestly," Sunset blushed.

"You don't know how happy that makes me to hear you say that," Twilight proclaimed.

"I think I can make a pretty good guess."

Twilight smiled, and not thinking twice she leaned towards Sunset. Sunset knew where this was going. Should she let it happen? Then, she saw Twilight closing her eyes. It was like everything was in slow motion. Sunset breathed in deep from her nose and slowly closed her eyes too. She felt her body move forward and before you know it, her lips were gently pressed against Twilight's.

It felt warm and sincere. She was liking it, but was her heart in it? Sunset and Twilight continued their kiss and not too many moments later, it became more passionate. Twilight was starting to go full force. They found themselves shifting positions on the bed to face each other. Twilight's hands were on Sunset's cheeks and hers were rested on Twilight's shoulders. It went from one kiss, to two, to five, to full make-out session! The smacks between each kiss echoed throughout the room.

Is this real? Twilight was thinking.

It was very certain what Twilight wanted here. Sunset wanted the same yes? Soon, the two were both panting like dogs. Twilight willingly started to lift up Sunset shirt. Sunset gasped taken by surprise with Twilight's actions. She was... letting it happen.

Sunset's shirt was completely off her only leaving her with her bra and jeans. Twilight moved to Sunset's neck giving her wet kisses all around. Sunset moaned like crazy. They kissed some more before moving on. Sunset's hands made their way to Twilight's top and started to tug at it about to take it off. Withal, before Twilight's stomach got bare, she squeaked and pushed Sunset away.

"Stop! S-stop," Twilight breathed.

Sunset coughed trying to regain her breathing. Talk about awkward...

"I thought- didn't you?- I didn't mean!- sorry," Sunset rambled.

Twilight and Sunset's faces were both deep red of embarrassment.

It didn't happen... Sunset thought.

"What are we doing!?" Twilight yelled. She grabbed a pillow and screamed into it. "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"

"...Twi, calm down," Sunset said.

"Calm down? I am calm. You need to calm down!"

Sunset grabbed Twilight by the shoulders. "Snap out of it!"

Twilight bit her lip and nodded. She got up off the bed and started pacing around the room moving her hand in a technique she uses to calm herself. She did this for about a minute before Sunset spoke again.

"Feeling any better?" She asked.

Twilight took her seat back on the bed. "Not really. I mean, look at you."

Sunset looked herself down then noticed unlike her, Twilight managed to take her shirt off. Not to mention the red marks. "I uh..."

Her girlfriend shook her head. "That's not what I'm worried about. It's nothing I haven't seen before."

Sunset sighed. "Well gee, that makes me feel so much better."

"It's why I did it that's bothering me," Twilight confessed. "I totally just invaded your body. I shouldn't have thrown myself on you like that. Especially knowing the situation were in." She grabbed the pillow again. "I'm pathetic!"

"You are the opposite of pathetic Twilight. I should be the one apologizing, not you," Sunset admitted.

Now Twilight was confused. "You? Why?"

"I'm dumb for taking advantage of you like I did. My heart wasn't in it like yours was, and for that... I'm sorry. Think about it, you said we've done this before correct? You kissed me because of your feelings towards me and I didn't. I don't know I guess I thought it was what you wanted. If anyone's pathetic it's me."

"No Sunset you're wrong. The Sunset I know, even back in High school, wouldn't have kissed me back if there wasn't any part of you that felt like it was right. You're the most sincere loyal person I know. Deep down your memories and love for me are there. We just have to keep digging to find them," Twilight said.

"I'm not sure. I still feel guilty. Part of me is thinking I was just being greedy," Sunset replied with worry.

"Greedy or not, I don't care. All couples are greedy once in awhile, counting myself. You can't remember but we are dedicated to each other Sunset. You're allowed to do that with me you know," She smiled.

Sunset laughed. "Good to know."

Twilight continued. "However, let's avoid intimacy for now. It still felt wrong of me to do that knowing the stakes were in. Until you really feel like you love or even like me again, were on pause."

"Agreed," Sunset nodded.

Twilight coughed. "We can still hug and hold hands though..."

Sunset smiled and rolled her eyes. "Sure. Anything for you Twi."

Twilight brightened up. "I feel better. Let's change into our Pj's and get some sleep."

"Good idea," Sunset yawned. "Best idea you've had all day."

***

Sunset was now in her pajamas sat on the bed. Sighing at the fact she wouldn't be able to finish the movie, she paused it so she could resume it later. She flicked off the TV just in time for Twilight to come in. Twilight in her usual nightgown laid down on the bed covering herself in the blanket. Of course, Sunset followed suit getting herself comfortable.

"Have a good night Twilight," she spoke.

"You too Sunset. Love you."

Sunset opened her mouth to say something but Twilight put her finger up signaling her to shush.

"You don't have to respond to that," Twilight said.

Sunset snickered feeling relieved and started to close her eyes. Yet, a minute later her eyes shot open to the sound of Twilight's quiet snoring. It was so 'adorkable'!

Sunset smiled at her, I wish my memories come back soon.

Then the girls, the women, the couple, the lovers, were both fast asleep.

"I’ll never forget you; and you’ll always be by my side."

Twilight was surprised to wake up alone this morning. Sunset was nowhere to be seen. Unusual, Sunset was always fast asleep by the time Twilight woke up. Although, it has been a scarce two days. Maybe Sunset couldn't bare sleeping in the room with her and decided to retreat to the couch.

Maybe...

Only one way to find out. Twilight raised from the bed to look for her girlfriend. After sliding on her slippers she exited the room. She made her way over to the living room.

Couch, but no Sunset. She established

Twilight couldn't help smelling some aroma that seemed was coming from the kitchen.

"No way." She mumbled to herself. Twilight went into the kitchen only to find Sunset standing at the stove.

"Sunset?" She called

She turned "Oh hi Twi."

Twilight scratched her arm "What are you doing?"

"...Making breakfast?" Sunset raised an eyebrow

"But- you never make breakfast!"

Sunset turned back around for a second and flipped a pancake over. She faced Twilight again. "Since when?"

"Since college! You said it didn't matter since you could just grab a quick snack on campus." She remarked and thought for a second "Oh."

Sunset laughed at her realization "I see. Yet, that was college. Why not now?"

"You like to sleep in late. So, I'm usually the one who makes breakfast. Or you grab a bowl of cereal." Twilight answered

"That doesn't seem very fair." Sunset said

Twilight shrugged "It was- is how we do things around here."

Sunset bit her lip then payed attention back to her pancakes taking them off the griddle. "Want a pancake?"

"Okay, sure." Twilight answered. She walked over to get a plate from the cupboard.

Sunset looked over and realized what Twilight was doing. Shaking her head she took the plate from her.

"Hey!"

"Hays for horses." Sunset giggled (See what I did there?)

"Seriously Sunset. What gives?" She asked

Sunset gestured over to the table "Have a seat and let me serve you dork."

Twilight huffed then sat at the table like Sunset asked. Fine by me.

Sunset came over three minutes later with a plate of two pancakes, fruit, and two stripes of bacon.

"Wow! This looks amazing Sunny!" Twilight gaped

She set the plate down "Sunny? When was that established?"

"Uh..."

Sunset rolled her eyes "Never mind, I'd rather not know but your welcome."

She went back over to the kitchen and made her plate before returning to the table with Twilight. "I'm still a vegetarian right?"

Twilight looked up from her food "Yes."

"Uggggggghhhhhh."

Twilight blinked and look over from her computer at Sunset who was sprawled out on the couch "Something wrong babe?"

There's that word again. "Don't worry about it. There's no need to worry you with my thoughts."

"Okay. Well I'm just going-"

"Well if you insist!" Sunset interrupted her getting off the couch. Twilight sighed.

"I'm bored." Sunset admitted

Twilight frowned "Sunset. Grow up."

"I am grown up! I'm twenty three!" Sunset exclaimed

"That may be so but your acting like a seventeen year old who just lost her Hulu free trial subscription." Twilight joked

"Ha ha very funny. Come on let's do something!" She begged

Twilight rolled her eyes "I'm working."

"You have your whole life to work." Sunset crossed her arms

"Okay fine. Let me save this."

Sunset jumped "Great! A trip to the mall!"

***

"Out of all the places; the mall?" Twilight said walking down the isle of many stores.

Sunset nudged Twilights arm with her elbow. "The mall Twilight. The mall." The couple made their way into one of the clothing stores.

"This looks promising." Twilight's turn getting excited.

Sunset shrugged "Not really my style. Though, you rock business casual."

Twilight faced her "Really?"

"Well from what I've seen of course. Like that blouse your wearing," She pointed "it looks cute on you."

Her girlfriends face turned pink "Thanks Sunset..."

Sunset smiled in return. Maybe I'm getting the hang of this 'couple' thing. She thought

The ladies searched around the store until something finally caught Twilight's eye. She raced towards it taking it off the rack. She looked it over a bit then turned it around to show Sunset. Sunset examined the dress to Twilight's nervousness. Soon she give Twilight a thumbs up and smiled. Twilight and her made there way to the changing rooms. Twilight picked a stall while Sunset waited outside.

"Miss?" She heard someone say. She turned to find a lady who was working here. "Are you waiting for a changing room?"

Sunset shook her head "Nope. Just waiting for my girlfriend." Girlfriend... She felt weird saying that.

The lady nodded "Fabulous. Just let me know if I can help you."

"Thank you." She replied. Before the worker could leave, Twilight came out of the room.

Sunset was stunned. She was wearing a navy blue off the shoulder long sleeve dress. It figured her nicely showing off her hips and excellent curves. In the middle it had a small black leather belt that finished it off.

"Wow!" The lady said still here. "I don't know what your girlfriend thinks, but that dress looks incredible on you!" She said to Twilight

"Oh uh thanks ma'am." Twilight accepted her comment.

It took awhile before Sunset snapped out of her awe. "Twilight, you look drop dead gorgeous!" she beamed. It was no lie or flattery, Sunset met it with everything she had. She was really starting to realize how she manage to fall in love with this girl.

Sunset and Twilight were red as cherries "Sunset, I uh, thank you!"

"So are you going to buy it?" The worker asked

"Yes!" Both girls said in sync

Many shops later...

"That was so... fun!" Twilight walked and talked

"See? We can do have fun shopping." Sunset said

Twilight giggled. Then just as before, a good smelling aroma hit her nose. It looked like it hit Sunset's too but she was searching around intrigued. Then she spotted it.

Sunset grabbed Twilight's hand "Let's go!"

When they finally stopped, she looked up. Mr Pretzels Twilight read

"Nothing better than getting hot pretzels after a trip to the mall." Sunset spoke

Twilight looked through the display glass. "They do look pretty good."

"What do you want?" Sunset asked her

Twilight shook her head pulling out her wallet "I'll buy."

"Are you standing up an offer of someone buying you food?" Sunset cocked her eyebrow. "You're too much."

"You made me breakfast and paid for my dress. It's only fair." She argued

"Fairness? That's what it about? Twilight put your money away, I got it." Sunset started to pull out her card.

"Come on Sunset. There's no need for this."

"Exactly. Now tell me what you want before I pass out from starvation." Sunset smirked

Twilight crossed her arms "I'm not letting you pay for me again. It's weird all things considering."

"What are you talking about?" She asked confused

"We both have our own money. Why would you pay for something I want? It doesn't benefit you in anyway." Twilight explained

"Because it's what girlfriends do..." Sunset answered "and it does so benefit me. Seeing you smile and getting to see you enjoy it is what makes it worth it."

Twilight smiled "That's really sweet of you Sunset. However we've never done that before today."

"Seriously? Why the heck not?" Sunset was surprised

"I basically told you why not."

"But-but!" Sunset stuttered. She wasn't confused anymore. She was perplexed.

"One cinnamon and one toffee pretzel please." Twilight said handing her money to the cashier.

Sunset crossed her arms "You're slick I see." She said annoyed

The cashier put their order into a blue paper bag and handed them to Twilight. "You'll understand when your memories return."

Sunset mumbled "We'll see about that."

Sunset couldn't help but think, was their relationship all caught up as she thought it would be? So far, unlike other couples, she and Twilight seem to do things completely different. That doesn't matter though right? As long as it's love, they she shouldn't care.

They had a seat in the court yard and set their arms full of bags under the table. Twilight took out the pretzels and gave Sunset the toffee one. They talked and enjoyed their snack with Sunset surprised that her toffee tasted so good. Finishing up, they threw the bag and napkins in the trash then picked up their shopping spree.

"I had a great time." Sunset said

Twilight smiled "Me too. It was nice to get out of the house."

"To feel the sunlight on your skin and the cool breeze whistling through our hair." Sunset quoted

"Yeah... I suppose so." Twilight replied

Sunset giggled "I'm only messing with you. Come on, let's head home."

"Shit!" Twilight yelled

Sunset jerked her head up from her phone "Y-You cursed?"

She rolled her eyes "It began in sophmore year when the teacher wouldn't accept my flipping research paper because it was thirteen seconds late. Thirteen seconds! It's not my fault he gave us so much homework. I was too busy working on that Personal Finance seminare when I realized it."

"That's quite a story." Sunset clicked her tongue

"What did you expect me to do? Get on my knees and beg?" Twilight suggested

"Beg for what? Mercy? To take your paper? Please that wouldn't have worked. What you did was a-okay in my book."

"atrocious verbal language is hardly the answer Sunset." Twilight said

"Meh." Sunset shrugged "Anyway what's going on?"

"I forgot my parents wanted you over for dinner next weekend. I just got the remind text from my mom. Not only that but It's a two hour drive there." She explained

"Well besides the drive, it sounds fun. I love your parents. What's the big deal Twi?"

"If you haven't forgotten, we're together. So dinner's with each others parents are always awkward."

Sunset put her head in her right hand "Oh. We'll it still shouldn't be so bad."

"Now that you say that, when I told you this weeks ago you said you were interested in talking with them again. Though since you can't remember a thing, I guess whatever it was has to wait for another time."

"True." Sunset sighed "That really sucks for... me..."

"Yuh huh. You don't say." Twilight smirked then laughed.

A tune coming from Sunset's hands interrupted her laughing. Sunset looked down at her ringing phone checking the caller ID.

"It's... Rarity?" Sunset read

"Don't answer-!"

"Hello?" Sunset rudely interrupted Twilight's plead.

"Sunset! Hello! It's Rarity. How are things holding up?" She asked

"G-Good." Sunset replied cautiously

"Oh! is Twilight there?"

Sunset glanced over making sure she still remained "Yes."

"Put me on speakerphone darling. I want to hear both of my friends lovely voices."

Sunset bit her lip and put her phone on speaker.

"Twilight! Are you there?" The voice beamed through the phone

Twilight rubbed the back of her head "Uh yeah. Hi Rarity."

"It's so good to hear from you two again!"

"Rarity, you call about every month." Twilight said

"Pfft, still."

Sunset remained silent while they talked about basic bits and bats. That is until, the conversation went back to her.

"So how are you Sunset? With Twilight." Rarity asked

Sunset jumped at the question. "F-fine."

"Lying are we?"

Shoot... "What? No I'm not! Honestly were one hundred percent healthy." Sunset said

And... bad choice of words. Healthy? Seriously?

"That's fantastic darlings. I was hoping for something more-" There was a pause before she could finish.

"Exciting?" Twilight finished her off.

"Yes! You girls have been together for awhile now. I Just keep wondering when you were going to tie the knot Sunset."

That stung and Sunset's face went red in embarrassment. Oh please no.

"I- well you see- I can't- It's not!- ...sorry." Sunset stuttered

Twilight cocked her eyebrow "You seriously gotta quit that."

Sunset sighed "I know. Tell that to my tounge Twilight."

There was a laugh on the other end. "Making you gush is just the best! I would've loved to see your face just then."

Twilight rolled her eyes so dramatically they could of popped out of her face.

"Oh dear, I have to go. It was nice catching up Twilight! Sunset, we will finish this conversation later. Toodles!"

There was now silence.

"Heh, that went well." Sunset bombed

"Depends on your definition of well." Twilight replied

"...So about this dinner..." She started

"Don't worry about it. I'll just call and cancel. Again." Twilight said

Sunset smiled deciding not to argue. There was no point in doing so expecting she wouldn't win anyway. Then she also felt guilty about lying to Rarity. Yet, she is fine. Healthy though? Besides head trauma. Twilight? Sunset couldn't help but think Twilight isn't fine. She's still pretty beaten up about the whole car accident thing. She needed to stop blaming herself for it.

"Hey, you alright?" Twilight said suddenly. Sunset blinked and turned to Twilight.

"Huh?"

"You spaced out for a bit." Twilight answered

Sunset tugged on a piece of her hair "Oh, I guess."

"You guess? Are you having another headache? I can get you some medicine. Do you need me to go out for you?" Twilight said worriedly

Sunset shook her head "No Twi, I'm good." That's really kind of her...

Twilight nodded and took Sunset's hand then gave it a small squeeze "Okay. Just... let me know?"

"Of course." Sunset smiled

Twilight let go of her girlfriends hand much to Sunset's disappointment. It just always felt right when she got all 'touchy' with her. With the warmth of Twilight's hand gone and only herself in the room; Sunset took the remote and turnt on the television.

Why not.

"Good morning Twilight."

Twilight looked over from the couch to see Sunset coming from the bedroom.

"Morning Sunset." She smiled.

Sunset took a seat next to her girlfriend. "I was surprised to wake up alone this morning. You have something on your mind?"

Twilight fiddled her thumbs. "No..."

"No?" Sunset raised her eyebrow. "You and me both know that's not true."

"Please, it's nothing." Twilight spoke.

Sunset took Twilight's hands in her own. "I don't bite you know. You can talk to me."

Twilight sighed.

Sunset tilted her head playfully. "Or is it something I'm not allowed to know?"

Twilight looked up at Sunset and saw her playful grin. She couldn't help by smile and shake her head in response.

"I was just thinking that's all. About us." She said.

Sunset nodded. "I think about us a lot too. The best way to get over thinking about something, is to share whatever it is with someone close to you."

"You'd want to talk about our relationship?" Twilight asked.

"Why wouldn't I?" Sunset responded.

"Well... It's just... we've always pushed it back before." She shrugged.

Sunset kissed Twilight forehead and squeezed her hands. Twilight blushed and put on a goofy grin.

"We can go forward whenever you're ready Twi. Besides, It's not like I haven't seen you naked before." She winked.

Twilight rolled her eyes and pushed her girlfriends chest. "Ugh you ruined it."

Sunset giggled. "Sorry sorry."

Twilight snorted. "Anyways, that's really kind of you Sunset but we should decide together when we are ready."

"I'm ready when you're ready." Sunset booped Twilight's nose.

Argh, Sunset and her empathy... Twilight thought.

Sunset saw Twilight look down sadly. This was clearly something that was bothering her. Sunset sighed.

"Babe, one day we'll get married, have a beautiful honeymoon, and start a real life with each other. We will love and grow old together to death do us part." Sunset said assuringly.

Twilight looked back up. "Promise?"

Sunset took Twilight and pulled her into a emotionally passionate kiss. When they broke they smiled and looked at one another. There was true love in their eyes.

"I promise."

Twilight woke up crying. She hasn't dreamed of her and Sunset since the accident... it was like the universe was trying to punish her with more pain.

Sunset awoke to the sound of Twilight's sniffles. She glanced over at the crying woman. Sunset frowned and pushed herself up.

"Twilight?" Sunset said trying to get her attention.

Twilight flinched to her name. She looked up at Sunset who was now up looking at her with concern in her eyes.

"I'm sorry." Twilight's tears hitting the blanket as she talked.

Sunset scooted a little closer and wrapped her arms around Twilight. Twilight threw her arms around Sunset neck and sobbed over her shoulder. Sunset let Twilight cry in arms as she caressed her back.

"Shh, it’s okay. I’m here." Sunset said patting her.

They stayed like that for a few minutes. Sunset really had no other idea what to do. Twilight's always been a bit... emotional. When the waterworks slowly died down, Twilight went and released her arms and looked at Sunset. Sunset stared back wiping the remainder of tears on her face.

"You want to talk about it?" she broke the silence.

Twilight shook her head. "No."

"Okay." Sunset smiled.

Twilight picked herself off the bed. "I need some coffee." She said exiting the room.

Sunset sighed. She didn't like seeing her friend girlfriend cry at all! Who knew she could cause so much dismay. One stupid mistake. She hated herself for that one stupid mistake. How could she be so foolish to pick up the phone while driving? Especially when it's raining out!

"I hate the rain." Sunset mumbled to herself.

She then got herself up off the bed and headed out the room. She found Twilight sitting at the kitchen table holding a mug in her two hands. She looked down in her cup rubbing the hot edges. Without saying a word, Sunset went into the kitchen and made her own cup. She took a seat across from Twilight and smiled at her. Twilight smiled back as the two woman sat in silence enjoying their cups of coffee.

A Reminder Of Hope Part 4
By, serenityx

"From the day that I met you; I knew that I would love you 'til the day I die."

What a great summer day! Sunset Shimmer thought staring out the window. Well, there's only one thing to do on a day like this. She smiled to herself.

Sunset retracted from the window and glanced back at Twilight who was still in bed sleeping. She shook her head sighing and went over to the sleeping woman.

"Twilight? TIME TO GET UP!" she yelled loudly hoping it would wake her.

"Eek!" Twilight rose off the bed and tried to free herself from the covers hastily. It failed miserable and the blankets ended up getting caught in between Twilight's legs. She rolled over and fell off the bed, blanket included, with a loud thud. She covered her mouth embarrassed and glared at Sunset.

"Haha! Oh my gosh, that was priceless!" Sunset laughed. She wasn't expecting that to happen.

Twilight groaned and got off the floor. "Sunset Shimmer! Please, don't that again."

Sunset only giggled some more before reaching for the covers on the ground. "I didn't mean to scare you that badly! Are you okay?"

"That depends." She crossed her arms. "Are you done laughing yet?"

Sunset smiled and rolled her eyes playfully. She spread the blanket back on top of the sheets tucking the sides in. Good as new.

"I suppose. You can't disagree that wasn't at least a bit funny though?"

Twilight shrugged and sat on the made bed. "I guess it was a little funny." She snickered.

"Alright that's done." Sunset said placing the last pillow. "I woke you up for a reason ya know."

"Oh?"

Sunset nodded. "It's 88 degrees outside Twilight."

Twilight stared at her. "And?"

"Which means, it's perfect beach weather!" she gleamed.

Twilight tilted her head. "You want to go to the beach?"

"Of course! It's hot enough that you have the motivation to get in the water but not too hot where you bake too quickly." Sunset explained.

Twilight only blinked.

"Come on!" she begged. "I want to feel the sand in my toes already!"

"Sunny, what are we suppose to do at the beach? Do you not have anything else to do?"

Sunset thought for a moment. "Not that I'm aware of; Why? Have we not gone to the beach anytime during our relationship?"

Twilight opened her mouth to speak but stopped and shook her head instead. Right, memory loss. She recalled to herself.

Sunset shook her head. "Oh. I didn't know I could stay away from the outdoors for so long." She fiddled with her thumbs.

"You don't. You happen to go on occasion walks here and then."

Sunset weakly smiled. "Right..."

"That doesn't mean we don't go outside at all Sunset. We biked together once and sometimes we go to the community center for some exercise." Twilight responded.

Sunset didn't reply after that. She just looked around the room. She's been stuck with memory problems for five days and she's still pointing out unusual stuff.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go to the beach!" Twilight spoke hoping to cheer her girlfriend up.

Sunset faced Twilight again until she realization hit her in the face. "Oh!" with that, Sunset scurried to the big closet to look for some beach wear. However a few seconds later she came walking back into the room again.

Twilight raised an eyebrow. "Third drawer to the left."

Sunset smiled brightly with teeth and rushed back inside.

It was now ten in the morning when Sunset found herself and Twilight in the car. They'd been driving for about twenty minutes in silence. Probably because neither knew of what to talk about. It's been like that for the past few days but Sunset didn't blame Twilight. I mean, they've been dating for two whole years and she doesn't remember any of it. Or any of their friendship before that in college. She wanted to be with her so badly! I mean with her with her. Everytime she gets close to Twilight she feels the sudden urge to embrace her; and not in the bestfriend kind of way.

Those feelings and memories are still in her brain, she just needs a push to get them out. How? She's already crossed getting into another car accident off the list. If Twilight found out Sunset purposely got another injury, she'd really get a heart attack this time. Twilight has shown Sunset pictures, taken her to their favorite places, even called some of their old friends excluding Rarity. Nothing seemed to be working and Twilight was beginning to lose hope.

I wish I could remind her what she means to me; give her that hope back. Sunset thought staring out the car window.

Sunset had a feeling what she meant to Twilight and what Twilight meant to her. Maybe from the constant crying she heard from her in the middle of the night or maybe it was from the proposal ring Sunset found yesterday. I think she has a pretty good idea what she wanted to talk to Twilight's parents about now...

It was too funny. Sunset was just rummaging through some her old stuff. Well, I suppose they were old stuff because most of it was in the far back of the walk-in closet. She found one of her old bags; the one with her sun birthmark on it. She looked inside hoping there would be something, anything, that could help her. Instead, she found a little black box and inside was a gold and diamond ring. It was engraved.

Forever & Always My Love. -SS

There was no doubt what Sunset found was a proposal ring. She now knew more than ever to get her memories back!

"Sunset?"

She flinched being called back from her train of thoughts. "What?" she blinked. "I mean, yes?"

Twilight pointed out the front window. "We're here."

"Great!" Sunset said smiling.

The couple got out the car and took a bag out of the trunk which included their snacks, refreshers, towels, umbrella, and sunscreen. They walked and found a clearing to set up their things. Sunset was right, it was perfect beach weather and there were a lot of people crowding the paradise today. Twilight laid their towels and set up their umbrella when Sunset spoke again.

"Mermaid time!" she exclaimed.

Twilight faced her and made a weird face. "Mermaids... don't exist Sunset."

Sunset snorted. "I know that, but that doesn't mean we can't make one." She sat on the sand on her knees and signaled Twilight over. "Come on babe, lay down in front of me." Where'd that language come from?

Twilight blushed and sat in front of Sunset. "You're not turning me into a beach mermaid Sunny."

"Twi, come on, you'll be the most beautiful beach mermaid I ever did see."

Twilight blushed even harder. "You're too much."

"Am I from stating the obvious?" she tilted her head.

Twi rolled her eyes, "Fine." then laid down.

"Yes!"

After ten and who knows how many other minutes after that of barring her girlfriend in sand, Mer-Twi was done. Sunset stood up admiring her accomplishment. Twilight was covered in beach sand excluding her face. The bottom of her had a flowing tail going towards the right and her chest had an accurately shaped coconut bra. Sunset then did a winky face and held up a thumbs up to Twilight.

"Yay... can I get out now?"

Sunset shook her head. "Not until your picture." She took out her phone. "Smile!" Twilight did as she was told not wanting to waste another second in the hot sand. "Yep. Most beautiful."

Twilight got herself off the sand brushing herself off. "Now you're just being cocky."

"Am not." She retorted.

"Are too."

"Am not."

"Are too."

Am not!"

"Are-" Before she could finish her part of the argument she gasped at the sight behind Sunset. She started running across the beach with her hand tightly attached to her partners.

"Woah, hey! Twi, slow down!"

When Twilight finally stopped, Sunset had her left hand on her knee panting from the exhaust. "So... w-what's up?"

Twilight looked at Sunset and released their hands. "Sorry!"

"No problem." She steaded herself back up normally. "Where's the fire?"

Her girlfriend laughed. "No fire, just a 'Fish N Chips' stand!" she faced back in front of her.

"Ah. Nothing like a good fish and chips at the boardwalk huh?" Sunset looked at the stand and the line they were in.

"Yeah... sorry I got carried away. Want some? I'll pay."

Just when Sunset was about to retort, Twilight quickly added. "Not because you paid last time, because it's a nice thing to do." Sunset just ended up smiling and nodding instead.

Great to see she learned that lesson. She remembered their trip to the mall.

When it got to their turn to order, Twilight ordered fried salmon with crinkle cut fries while Sunset ordered fried trout with seasoned fries. The aroma made their mouths water as they waited for the food. When it was ready, the couple made their way back to their spot on the beach and sat on the towels.

"Happy Twilight?" Sunset laughed picking up one of her fries.

"Mhm." Twilight mumbled in return already taking a bite of her fish.

Sunset gave off a playful smirk which made Twilight flush with embarrassment.

"What happens at the beach stays at the beach." She ordered.

"Whatever you say." Sunny smiled.

Sunset loved spending time with Twilight on her own. Back in high school, there was hardly a moment where the group was separated. Most of the time they'd go places as a group, split up, but always come back towards the end. However, that rarely happened. Sunset although always felt closer to Twilight in general. It's obvious that they were the two that got together in the end. Sunset just never... expected it.

Sunset chewed her fish as she thought. Twilight always made her world brighter. She has always managed to bring a smile to her face. Sunset decided then and there that she never wants to leave Twilight. Ever. She made a commitment to herself: even if she never get's her memory back, she would still propose to Twilight sooner or later. Afterall, it's what 23- year old Sunset would want.

Sunset was pulled back into reality when her girlfriend started to speak again. They started to have a nice conversation with one another. They talked about some of their college days and what they miss about their friends. Twilight told her that a month ago they all agreed to meet up next summer some time. Sunset gleamed at that. It would be great to see them all again. Even though it just felt like a week to her.

"Hey, want to swim?" Sunset asked her.

"...Sure." Twilight hesitated trying to recall that last time she'd been in water.

That was all that was exchanged before they went towards the sea. They stayed close to the sand mostly just splashing and relaxing in the water. Twilight even dared Sunset to go a bit farther out a get hit by the next wave that came by. Of course, she agreed and regretted it straight afterwards. She complained on how much salt water hit her tongue meanwhile Twilight laughed her head off.

They sat on the edge of sand kicking their feet in the water. Sunset still had a pouty face on; Twilight leaned over to give her a kiss on the cheek. Sunset flinched but saw that Twi was wide-eyed realizing what she just did. So instead on saying anything, Sunset took and squeezed Twilight's hand in comfort showing she didn't mind. Which... was supposedly true. The couple enjoyed the rest of their time at the beach.

When four o'clock hit, both decided it was time to pack up and head home. They now sat in Twilight's car exhausted from all the excitement. That's almost always a side-effect from going to the beach. Twilight drove, and Sunny was staring out the window again. Best day ever. She thought.

"What a day." Sunset spoke taking off her sandals in the bedroom.

"Yeah." Twilight replied setting the beach bag next to the closet.

"Can you lend me a hand with the strings." Sunset gestured to her swim top.

"Sure." Twilight made her way over to Sunset's back to undo her strings. "Sunny... I just wanted to say I had a lot of fun today. In fact, it was the most fun I had in awhile. So, thank you."

"You're welcome Twi. I figured you could use a stress reliever."

Twilight finished untying the strings. "So it was about me then?"

Sunset slipped her swim top over her head revealing cleavage that Twilight didn't even need to react to anymore. "Technically yes; but it was for me too. I wasn't lying about wanting to go myself."

Twilight nodded as Sunset took her t-shirt from the bed and slipping it on. "I'm going to go change." Twilight said going to the bathroom.

Sunset cocked her eyebrow at the now closed bathroom door. Maybe I shouldn't of changed in front of her...

It's not like it was her fault or anything. She just felt comfortable doing it. I guess losing her memory didn't affect everything that Sunset was used to doing. She shrugged and put on some loose shorts now paying attention to the TV.

When night time fell in the Sparkle & Shimmer house, the couple were sleeping on their opposite sides on the bed. Well... one was sleeping. The other was sat straight up legs pulled to her chest and head in her knees. Oh, and crying. Yeah Twilight was having her regular middle of the night cry session where she thinks of all the bad things in her life and sobs for about thirty minutes. She hasn't always done this; just recently since the accident.

Sunset Shimmer's eyes sprang open when she heard the hiccups and sniffs. She glanced over at the crying woman for the fourth time this week. Okay Sunset. Time to be a good girlfriend. She praised herself lifting up.

"Twilight." She said flatly.

Twilight brought her head up off her knees to look over at her now-awake girlfriend. "Oh... sorry Sunset."

Sunset scooted closer which made Twilight look away again. "Don't be. Come on, look at me." She brought a finger to Twilight's cheek making her eyes centered with her own. "Why are you crying Twi?"

"It's nothing." Another sniff.

"We both know that's a lie. You've done this four times already! I've constantly been woken up by your sobs at one in the morning."

"Is this your way of comforting?"

Sunset blinked. "Sorry, that come out wrong. Geez I'm not good at this..."

Twilight smiled. "Yes you are."

Sunset weakly smiled back and put her hand on Twilight's shoulder. "Okay... what's wrong?"

"Just thinking... about us."

Sunset bit her tongue. "That's... oddly familiar."

Twilight gasped. "You remember?!"

"Cool your jets Twi. I'm thinking of what to say here." She put her head in her right hand ignoring her question. Twilight just tilted her head curious. It was almost a minute before Sunset raised her head again and Twilight's tears have been slowly coming to a stop.

"Alright," She started. "Twilight I know you're scared. I'm scared too actually. Yet, it's going to be okay. The only thing that matters is that were together right now. Right now, I'm happy just being around you. Even though our relationship is on pause doesn't mean it can't start up again. Memory or no memory I still... like you. We can go as slow or as fast as you want. I'm always going to be here for you Twilight. I need you to know that you mean a lot to me. I mean a lot a lot. Our affection for each other is unlimited. It's not going to end anytime soon. Now, I need you to clear those tears okay?"

Twilight wiped her face smiling. "You've always been good at that."

"SunLight for life?" Sunset attempted. Twilight just pinched her in response. "Ow! Okay, that technically wasn't a joke."

"Maybe not," She laughed. "but you deserved it."

"I can accept that..."

Twilight hugged Sunset for thanks and Sunset hugged back. They pulled apart and Sunset booped her girlfriends nose. Twilight rolled her eyes playfully at her and started to get under the covers. Sunset followed suit doing the same.

"Night, I love you." Twi said.

"... thanks." Still don't know how to respond to that...

Twilight giggled turning over in the bed. Sunset blushed and started closing her own eyes.

A Reminder Of Hope Part 5
By, serenityx

"And I will never want much more; and in my heart I will always be sure."

Sunset Shimmer nodded to herself before putting her item into the shopping cart. Today was again, Monday, and the couple we all know and love were down at Mare-Mart doing their shopping. Nothing like stocking up the fridge and cupboards with fresh grocery. Living alone, Twilight would always insist on going to the store every two to three weeks. Falling behind would be disastrous; quoted Twilight. Luckily, Sunset said she didn't mind tagging along. So they're just their usual shopping trip. Well, It would be their usual shopping trip if Sunset would stop grabbing the unneeded necessities.

"...Sunset."

"Yes Twilight?" Sunset turnt her attention from the lemon oreos to her girlfriend.

"I'm only going to ask once. Why is their a can of root beer in the shopping cart?"

Sunset bit her lip as they walked down aisle. "Um, I'm thirsty?"

Twilight sighed, "They're a pack of water bottles right here." she pointed inside the cart.

"I meant, I'm thirsty for some flavor!" Sunset exclaimed.

"Ahem," Twilight retorted and started to lift something up out of the cart. "I present to you... flavored water!"

Sunset just groaned and slapped her face.

Twilight's lip curved. "Too much?"

Sunset nodded.

"Fine, you can get the can. Just no more of these surprise items."

"Deal."

The women were just about done with their shopping list. Luckily, Mare-Mart wasn't that packed today since of school and work hours. Afterall, Monday is the busiest day of the week! At least that's what the superstition is. Opinions tell, that Friday is also one of the busiest days. Just it's more relaxed because people are excited for the weekend. Anyway, Sunset and Twilight were making their way down one of the home-supply aisles as we know it.

"Hey, are you sure we have enough money for all this?" Sunset asked staring down at the half-full shopping cart.

"I'm sure. Though we're aren't working at the moment, I still have enough currency to last about half a year," Twilight explained to her.

Sunset raised a brow, "And just what do you do again?"

"I'm the president for my own company."

Sunset blinked. "Cool; for?"

"Scientific Analysis and Innovation," She answered with ease. Twilight took some laundry soap from one of the shelves and plopped it into the cart before returning her attention back to Sunset.

"What do I do?"

She hesitated at first before speaking. "...You're a development technician."

"Am I the president?" Sunset says.

"...No."

"Oh stars, out of all the jobs why'd I study technology?" Sunset asked in curiosity.

Twilight was starting to hate these questions. "Uhm, you really took an interest in it."

"So, like what? I do graphic design?"

"No," She answered hastily. "You develop and provide upgrade to new products and perform appropriate tests. More specifically, you design drafts for all work instructions documents and products, install and analyze all test equipments for qualification, and perform and implement various tests on new products. Oh and assist project managers and engineers to perform all jobs. Though, you've mentioned on multiple occasions you hate your boss so I suppose you don't do very much of that," Twilight elucidated.

"Ah, I see... I think," Sunset replied unsure.

Twilight sighed. "Can we put a pin on this topic and come back to it later? They're just two more things on the list."

"Actually Twilight, I wanted to talk about this for awhile and I want to finish it while the questions are burning a hole in my brain," Sunset mentioned.

Twilight rolled her eyes at the personification. "Alright then. Let's grab these last two things, pay, and head to the car."

"So?" Twilight started with a question as she placed herself in the driver seat.

Sunset closed her side door before beginning to speak. "Yeah, so the reason you've been able to stay home with me is because you run your own company?"

"I guess so. I have a very kind assistant and a responsible co-president who does all of the outside work for me. So right now, she's in charge. Most of the time I'm in my main office debating on decisions and signing papers. However, I'm the one who comes up with the ideas to begin with. I was the founder of SAIP in the first place afterall."

"S.A.I.P?" Sunset spelled out.

"Again, Scientific Analysis and Innovation Projects," Twilight said.

"Okay. So you do all the boring 'boss stuff' while also coming up with the main ideas but, to only toss off to your employees?"

"Yes. Also, I do happen time to time to get my own hands dirty. There's a reason I love science; nothing like going with the old scientific method while added my own proper steps in my lab."

Sunset laughed. "Same Twilight, just more professional... right?"

"Right," She smiled.

"So going back to my work. After thinking about it, I can see myself as a development technologist."

"Technician," Twilight corrected. "there's a difference."

Sunset rotated her hand. "Okay... so if i'm not my own boss, where am I?"

"The computer."

"You've got to be kidding me? You get to be a boss and I'm at a computer desk? What kind of bull is that!?" Sunset complained.

"Sunset, mostly everybody is at the computer. It is a tech company. Besides your boss, you happen to love your job. You're actually really good at what you do and I remember you telling me how excited you were to get brought up to the phone. Furthermore, it's excellent pay and I bet you could build your own business if you put your mind to it," Twilight said.

Sunset snorted. "Wow. Thanks for the boost of confidence I guess. Why don't you tell that to the Sunset without amnesia so she can go do that?"

Twilight frowned.

"Sorry," Sunset acknowledged and held out her arm preparing for another pinch. However Twilight just shook her head and pushed it away, surprising Sunset in response.

"It's fine. Anyway is there a point to all this?" Twilight insisted on closing this up.

"As a matter of fact, I want you to go back to work tomorrow," Sunset aforementioned.

"What? Sunset no, we've talked about this. I'm not leaving you by yourself and that's final." Twilight crossed her arms facing away from her girlfriend to stare out the front window.

"Argh, come on Twilight! I'm an adul-"

"Don't even finish that sentence," She interrupted.

Sunset rolled her eyes. "I am responsible enough to be left alone. I live- I mean I used to live alone since I was sixteen! You know the story about how I ran away from home in High School. You didn't seem to have a problem with it then!"

"That's different. We were just kids and besides, living by themselves is every teenagers dream. I still can't believe your parents agreed to it. How could they just let you do that?" Twilight spoke.

"My parents are selfish thick-heads that's why!" Sunset yelled. "Since when have they ever cared for me? They were willing to pay me to get out of their house! When I ran away they didn't notice I was gone until two days later. Even then, they only sent me a simple text. Do you remember what it said Twilight?"

"Uh, I think it wa-"

"Stay well; that's all it said! Tell me Twilight, have my parents even spoken to me in the last few years? Have I ever gone to even visit them?"

"No! No they haven't! We're getting off topic here Sunset and I don't feel like arguing with you about this right now."

Sunset sighed. "You're right. Back to the point: just because you have money now Twilight doesn't mean that it'll last. It's just going to run out when you least expect it! I don't want that for us or for you. Besides that, it's not good to leave your job for so long without at least checking in."

"I know that, okay?" She answered defensively. "Just- what if something happens? What if you have to go somewhere but don't remember how to get there? What if somebody calls your phone and you don't know how to answer to them? What if you trip and fall and can't get up? What if you cause a fire in the house and don't know where the fire extinguisher is? What if you accidently cut yourself and have to go to the hospital? Then on your way there you get into another car accident? You'd wake up and won't remember anything this time! I'd lose you Sunset! What if -"

"Hey hey slow down twi, I'm right here!" Sunset tried to tell her. Although Twilight didn't respond, her breathing just got heavier and tears were starting to stream down her face. "Twilight, slow down and breath." Sunset then, reaching towards the driver's seat, took her hands and placed them upon Twilight's shoulders.

Twilight weezed as her tears kept falling; she began to cough. Not again... no not now... "S-Suns-"

"Don't speak Twi. Listen and look at me. Can you do that?"

Twilight slowly nodded as the weezing got worse. This was by far the worst of her panic attacks.

"Okay, okay. Listen and look and me. Remember what we use to do? Blue skies in, gray skies out. Remember? Come on Twilight, I know you can do it." Sunset rubbed Twilight's shoulders as she told her the method hoping to help her relax.

Sunset's soothing voice was starting to help Twilight get through it. She did as she was told by closing her eyes and imagining her breathing in blue skies and letting out the gray ones. She used to have panic attacks all the time but she hasn't had one since High school because Sunset Shimmer was always there to make sure her stress never got that far. Ugh, she doesn't need to go to work. She doesn't want to go to work. What she wants is to stay right here with the person who she's been spending her life with! Luckily Twilight's breathing dialed down with the sobs, yet some tears still remained.

"Good, good." Sunset showed sympathy.

"I-I'm okay," Twilight finally managed to say.

"Alright Twi, come here." She held out her arms.

Twilight hopped over to Sunset's seat embracing her and barring her head in Sunset's chest. Sunset rubbed her girlfriends back just as she did the other day when she got back from the hospital.

"Thank you. I'm sorry...Twilight whispered.

"Why are you apologizing? Why does leaving me alone got you so worked up?" Sunset asked her starting to play with Twilight's hair.

Twilight head shot straight up from Sunset's chest, "Because I love you!" she yelled. Sunset just stared. "I'm just scared you'll get hurt again..."

Sunset smiled at her. "Twilight, I know we aren't in the best place right now. Literally since we're sitting in your car in the parking lot at Mare-Mart."

Twilight giggled and pushed Sunset's chest. "Shut up."

Sunset giggled a little herself. "Let me finish. Look, I'm sorry I haven't said it back before. I know it probably won't mean much since I've obviously said it multiple times before I got my memory's erased but, I've realized something now. This past week and few days when you would tell me stories about how we grew up to become a couple and list details about the new me and you; the way I've been experiencing what being in a relationship with you feels like really did something to me. No matter what happens we've always managed to get through it together; Including this. I couldn't see it before, but we really are soulmates. So what I'm trying to say is... I love you too."

Twilight gasped at Sunset's words and saw Sunset interlace their fingers. "I want to keep this going; but maybe taking it farther than what we have? Maybe you can accept me the way I am now? I'll learn everything there is to know. I'll even re-do college online if that's what you want; start my career over."

Twilight smiled brightly. Sunset was right, they are soulmates. This was all Twilight need to hear before leaning forward once more and locking her lips with Sunset's. Not passionately like that night; but with love, empathy, and commitment. They're together and that's all the matters. Sunset reacted back by putting her force into the kiss as well. Memory or no memory, Twilight would always be the one for Sunset. When they pulled back, they both had cheesy smiles on their faces looking at one another.

"I suppose that's a yes?" Sunset brought up.

"Yes silly, it's a yes."

Our love is forever. Sunset recalled from the proposal ring she found.

As Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer entered their home with joy, Sunset couldn't help but feel shallow. There was still something that was missing from their happy ending. That was because, it wasn't an ending at all; and It certainly wasn't happy. However, she felt happy. Was it sincere though? Maybe it's just her greed again. It wasn't an ending because Sunset still remained without her memories. It's like, half of her was still gone. Yes, she agreed to re-do college online. Yes, she got back together (Well I suppose, I mean technically they were never broken up.) with Twilight. Yes, she figured out what she so desperately wanted to talk to her girlfriends parents about. Then yes, she brought some pazzaz back into their relationship. Yet, there was still an ache. A dull ache she couldn't get rid of.

Sunset, every time she would get lovey-dovey with Twilight, also seemed to get a mild headache. Or when she would think too hard; about anything in fact! She knew these feelings she's been having Twi also felt the same. Afterall, years of their relationship went down the drain. Or more like stuck; stuck way down deep in the drain. It was going to take a lot to get back where they use to be. I think they were going to need a very long plunger.

Sunset is ready.

"Sunset are you ready?"

She squeaked. "H-Huh?"

"Are you ready?" she repeated and sat herself on a cushion. "For bed?"

"Bed! Oh, haha, right! Bed." Sunset gagged on her words. "Just let me change."

Twilight's lip curved.

"In the bathroom."

A minute or two later, back came in a pajamaged Sunset. Who placed herself on her side of the bed.

"So, we agreed then? You, work, tomorrow?"

"Wait just one second, since when did-" Twilight paused when she saw that Sunset gave her a very annoyed glare. She reacted quickly and changed her answer. "Mhm..." She nodded slowly.

"Good," Sunset smiled starting to tuck in.

"Sweet dreams Sunny." Twilight said turning off the lamp.

"Goodnight Twi."

"Love you."

"I love... you too."

Shimmer woke up alone that morning. Well, not completely alone. She picked up the note that sat in Twilight's placement on the bed.

Sunset,

Thank you; for everything. I'm willing to take our relationship a step at a time again. Starting with, going to work. Please, don't do anything stupid! I'll call you on my lunch break okay? If you don't answer I'll be forced to call the police. Also, I made oatmeal this morning, there's still some in the pot on the stove. Help yourself.

With love, Twilight

P.s. I hope you like my use of sarcasm ;)

Sunset chuckled. Yep, always the same Twilight.

***

"Miss Sparkle, welcome back," Someone spoke as Twilight entered the building.

Twilight looked over to the front desk and nodded. "Thank you Bright Idea, how are you today?"

"Very well it seems. How are you?" He questioned back.

"I'm great as well. I've finished my vacation and ready to get back to business. I happened to miss it and all of you," She lied.

Twilight has been keeping her relationship with Sunset Shimmer a secret from the press. Even her employee's don't know she's in a romantic relationship. The only ones who do know of them is her parents, their friends, and her co- president Moondancer. Oh and whoever Sunset has trusted enough to tell. However Twilight is going to tell them eventually. She just hasn't found the right time.

Bright smiled. "As have we. Furthermore, I'll need to see your ID." Twilight reached into her purse and pulled out her black ID card handing it to Bright Idea. Bright scanned it and poliety handed it back and smiled. "You may enter SAIP HQ Miss Sparkle. Please, have a good rest of your day."

Twilight put the card back into her purse and walked towards the elevator. "Thank you Bright, you as well."

When she reached the main floor people waved and smiled at her as she walked back. She truly did miss this place though; the hallways of white walls and different section rooms where different projects were going on. The people in lab coats, some at desks and some with goggles. She could hear a lot of noises as she passed by different rooms. She just needed to get to the stairs that lead up to her office.

"Good morning Miss Sparkle."

"Morning Micro Chips," She replied.

Someone waved at her who was currently working on the recent EM Spectrum in one of the lab rooms. "Hello Miss Sparkle. Surprised seeing you today."

Twilight chuckled. "Yes, I can see that. Have a good day Eight Bit," She said walking passed.

When she reached her office she witnessed Moondancer and an employee named Wiz Liz chatting. Well...

Moondancer had a finger pointed at Wiz Liz chest while speaking. "Lizzy those spectrometers should have been done two days ago! You're supposed to be the leader of the manufacturing assembly but we're falling way behind schedule here; and you know how much Twilight hates to be behind schedule. When she gets back here-"

"Is there a problem?" Twilight walked up to them crossing her arms.

"Oh! M-Miss Sparkle, I uh you're back?" Liz spoke chattering.

"Good morning Wiz Liz, good morning Moondancer, what seems to be the problem?" She asked.

"Miss Sparkle, I'm sorry to inform you but our manufacturing assembly is currently falling behind schedule on the Sparktron's you wanted done. Of course our innovation team finished the procedure's but we're having trouble copying the products," Liz explained.

"Yes, and unfortunately from the pace we're going at we won't have the first few ready for shipping until next week," Moondancer added on.

Twilight nodded. "I see. Well that's okay for the time being, however I want to be updated regularly on this. We can't afford another mishap with SAIP."

"Understood. I'll tell the team right away." With that, Wis Liz left the front of the office making her way down the stairs."

Twilight didn't respond after that and just opened the door to her office which seemed to be exactly the way she left it. She gestured Moondancer to come in who happily obliged.

"I'm pleased to see you have everything underwraps here Moony."

"Well yes, even though you took off doesn't mean I slack," She replied.

Twilight took a seat looking at all the papers she has stacked on the desk. "I thought I told you to take care of this as well?"

"Twilight, most things I can sign with my permission and access to the company but those papers there need your official mark of approval."

"Oh, of course." Twilight begun by taking out a pen.

"The Sparktrons are going to be our biggest accomplishment yet. If only we could get them done. We've been working four years on this project. The amount of problems we've had creating only one was torture enough," Moondancer said pulling up a chair of her own.

"Yes well, we did have the idea a long time ago. It was only that year we actually started to move on it," Twilight explained.

Moondancer laughed a bit. "I admit we both had our contributations. I did come up with the name afterall."

"I still can't believe I agreed with you on the name Sparktron. Really, I know using my name was smart but there just spectrometers," Twilight groaned while speaking.

"You liked it at the beginning! I'm quite clever at coming up with titles anyway. Besides, they're not just spectrometers Twilight. They're high tech quality interminabile vigorous prematicable spectrometers. Which I must add are going to be the biggest help for our decade, especially with the other mini projects we have in process at the moment."

"Yuh huh." Twilight finished reading one paper and started signing her name at the bottom. "Hey, I'm going to be doing this all day. Tell everyone if they have any questions to talk to you. If it's urgent you may send them to me."

"Sure thing," Moondancer answered and began walking out the office.

Twilight sighed to herself. This is going to be a long day.

Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer was soundly at home currently on the computer in the living room. She was sitting on the couch with documents spread out to her side.

"Alright Sunset. Let's do this," She told herself.

The documents beside her were old papers from college. One included her old application paper and another was her graduation certificate. Others were just some essays or copies of paperwork she had to fill out at the time. If she was going to do college online, she thought might as well sign up for the same one she graduated from. She hasn't resigned from her job yet either just in case. Although, if her memory doesn't come back by the end of the month she'd have no choice but to.

"I'm doing this for Twilight."

Sunset's a smart woman. She graduated High school with a high IQ, went to one of the smartest colleges in the region, graduated with a masters degree in arts, maths, and technology, and found a way to turn her best friend into a lover. How did she do it? A lot of hard work. Although Twilight still beats her by a landslide.

"I'm doing this for me."

She's so lucky everything turned out the way that it did. Her friends Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie as well. Sunset's scared of course, but like she told herself before: she's ready. Ready for school, ready for life, ready for love. Afterall, what's not worth fighting for?

"I'm doing this... for us."

***

"Ah ha! Finished!" Twilight stacked the last paper on the others and picked up the black phone from her desk. Not a real phone, more like a walkie-talkie. She pressed a button that called her assistants earpiece. "Star Catcher? Are you there?"

"Skst skst, Miss, skst, Sparkle?"

Twilight raised an eyebrow. "Where are you?"

"S-Sorry for the, skst, static. The radium waves here are out of con... skst... I'm going... skst... lab three......"

"Star Catcher? Hello?" Twilight spoke when the words stopped. She sighed when no response came and put the phone down. "Great."

Twilight took the stack of papers off her desk and headed out the door. She went and gave them to Periwinkle in the mail room before making her way to Lab 3. When she entered inside she found Eight Bit, Minuette, and Star Catcher fiddling with a current dexterous manipulation system.

"I'm working on it!" Minuette yelped as she used a screwdriver replacing one of the parts.

"We can't have this thing react to devices like it did. The whole thing just went haywire and- ugh my ears are still ringing. I can't believe you didn't check this Eight Bit," Star complained.

Eight sighed. "I'm sorry, I completely misinterpreted that. I'll look over the notes here."

"Having trouble?" Twilight finally spoke up.

"Uh yes, sorry about the call Miss Sparkle. I was just about to come to your office after my earpiece blew. However I couldn't help but notice the smoke in this lab and I never made my way," Star Catcher apologized.

"That's alright Star, it's not your fault. I just wanted to send some documents but I already gave them to Periwinkle on my way down," Twilight accepted.

"Heh... this is more complicated than it looks," Minuette said taking off her goggles.

"I never said it would be easy Minuette. Making a dexterous mani system takes a lot of patience. Nobody has successfully made one; If we can get it right then SAIP will seriously get high rise. We'll carry out into history!"

"Couldn't have said it better myself Miss Sparkle," Eight Bit mentioned.

"Hand me a pair of goggles will you? Let's get to work on this before lunch."

When evening rolled for Sunset, she was currently eating some microwaved mac n cheese at the kitchen table. When she checked the clock she realized how late it was.

Where's Twilight?

***

When evening rolled around for Twilight, she was going to be the last to leave; as usual. Besides Gear Shift, the guard. Even Bright Eyes, her secretary, left an hour ago. Twilight hung up her lab coat then grabbed her purse from her desk. Using her key, she locked up her office and headed down the stairs to the elevator. When she exited the elevator and the front lobby she used her card to close the doors.

"It was a long day," She said yawning. Hope Sunset's not too worried. I'll call her before I get on the road.

Out of nowhere there was mumbling. Twilight froze when she heard the noises. It sounded like there was some footsteps as well; and both noises were coming from the side of the building. She didn't know rather to run or check it out. Cautiously, she peeked her head around the edge of the building to see who was present.

"Shh! Do you want to get caught?" One figure spoke.

"Please, we already dug the whole and inserted the knockout gas. That guard is probably fast asleep by now. There's nobody else in the building," Another replied.

"I don't care. Let's just get to the vault room and get out."

Crap! Burglars! Twilight began to retreat so she could call the police, but before she could make it to the parking lot she stepped on a twig that snapped. "Well that's just great!" Oops... she covered her mouth with her hands. They definitely heard her now.

The two figures dressed in black, including their faces, stepped out from the side of building.

"Well, well, well, who do we have here? A little spy?"

Twilight gulped. There was nothing she could do now. Slowly, she turned around to face them.

"Oh! Twilight Sparkle? The founder and president of SAIP I see."

"It's Miss Sparkle to you." Twilight glared at them.

"Oops, my bad. Sorry Miss but we can't have you running off and calling the cops. So listen up, we do this the way or the hard way."

Twilight bit her lip. "What's the easy way?"

The other figure spoke up this time. "You can let us in, which on the bright side won't cause any damage to your doors and windows, then give us access to your vault in the basement. We'll take some money and be on our way."

She crossed her arms. "You can't be serious? First of all, you don't plan on taking some money, you plan on taking all of it. Second, even If I did agree, you would still kill me in the end so I wouldn't call the cops afterward."

"Wow, you certainly are smart Miss Sparkle. A plus for you!" One clapped it's hands. "So I'm guessing you don't accept?"

"No. That's entirely stupid." Twilight snarked.

"Alright, the hard way then." He snapped his fingers signaling the other one to bring out his gun and point it at Twilight. "Automatic death."

"No!"

"Too late Sparkle, bye bye!" The one with the gun said then pulled the trigger.

A Reminder Of Hope Part 6

"And you’ll always be by my side, 'til the day I die."

Sunset sighed as she placed her empty bowl in the sink. She checked her phone again, but still no reply. She called Twilight and texted her two times but she still hasn't answered. She was starting to get worried.

Sunset exited the kitchen and walked into the living room again. She made her way towards the window by the door and began to look outside. It was dark now but there was a full moon tonight which made it look bright. There was also millions of stars that could be seen. Not a cloud in sight.

"Wow," She admired.

Suddenly, Sunset felt her heart drop and her head start to pound.

"Not another migraine..." She rubbed her forehead still staring out the window.

Just then, a dark cloud, a feeling of cold and bitterness, felt like it settled in her heart. She sniffed. There was something eerie in the air. She could feel it; there was a horror that she just couldn't shake. "Twilight..."

Sunset grabbed her leather jacket then hesitating, she grabbed her car keys.

Twilight's eyes were squeezed shut. Here it comes, she was going to die. Why? What did she do to deserve this?

The pain never came. Twilight peeked open her right eye. She was still here, it's been about thirty seconds and she was still here. When she opened both eyes she could see the burglar struggling with the pistol he had in hand. He kept clicking down on the trigger but nothing was coming out.

"What's going on?" The other asked him.

"I don't know!"

This was her chance! Twilight speed past them quickly scanning her card and running into the building. She didn't bother turning on the lights or taking the elevator, she just started to climb the long staircase up to the next floor.

"You had the safety on you doofus! You let her get away!"

The two bugalers quickly ran inside the building after her smirking. It was foolish of her to not lock the doors. They took the elevator to the next floor to catch up to Twilight. The money could wait, they needed to get to her before she calls the police. Twilight was panting by the time she reached the floor. Unfortunately, when she heard the elevator doors open and spotted the men in black, she sprinted for one of the computer labs.

"Tsk tsk tsk, we can't have it your way Miss Sparkle. Shoot the gun!" He ordered the other.

"Uh... I left it behind."

The one in charge turnt to him and glared. "Can you do anything right?" He said annoyed. "Whatever, let's just tie her up." He took the rope from around his waist and entered the room Twilight went in. Twilight spotted them again and screamed.

"No!" Twilight tried to run but the other burglar caught her by the wrist before she could get out. "AH! Let me go right now!" She tried to wiggle free but he had a tight grip on her. He forcefully set her down in the corner of the room and took the rope from his partner about to tie Twilight up.

"We can't have you calling anybody." He took her purse as well and held up his thumb behind him. "All good."

"Great," He replied. "but let's tape her mouth as well." He pulled out a role of thick tape.

"No, no, no!" Twilight yelled again and started to cry. "SUNSET!" She screamed so loud the men had to cover their ears.

"Ugh! You brat! This is why you need the tape," He said taking off a strip.

"SUN-" Before she could finish another yell, the tape was already on her mouth.

"Sunset huh? Does Miss Sparkle have a girlfriend?"

Twilight looked down, her eyes still filled with rage.

"Hm, If she comes, we'll just have to take care of her as well."

Twilight looked up again trying to wiggle free of the rope.

"Sorry miss, we'd love to stay and chat, but we have a vault to find."

Both burglars left the room locking the door behind them. Twilight could only sit there and sob.

***

I'm on my way Twilight, don't worry.

Sunset, even though she has no idea what's going on, could feel that something was wrong. She's currently in the car on her way to Twilight's work. She was scared to get into the car at first, but Twilight was worth the risk. When she made it to SAIP HQ, she parked the car in the lot and exited.

"Twilight?" She called out and walked towards the building. She then noticed a gun rested on the ground and started to panic. "Twilight!" She ran to the doors and went inside. The doors were unlocked, that not good. She thought. Sunset continued on, however, she had no idea where she was going. She could only follow her gut.

She took the elevator to the first floor. When she made it she could already see it looked messy. There were muddy footprints all over the floor and there was a plant plot that now laid on the ground broken. Then some chairs were pushed outwards showing that someone was in a hurry.

"Twi?" She whisper called and walked passed some doors. One caught her interest; she could hear muffling noises through it. She looked at the words on the wall and saw that it read Computer Lab. She tried to open the door but it just wouldn't bulge. The muffling only got louder. "Twilight, are you in there? I'm going to try to get you out."

Sunset looked around for something she could use. I mean come on, this was a lab. There had to be explosives, or something. It wasn't a good idea, but she didn't have much choice here. She went to one of the desks in the middle of the hallway. Luckily she found a drill on one of them. Someone must of forgot to put it back.

Perfect, this will do. Sunset took the drill and went to the door again. She flipped the switch making it turn on and pressed the tip on the handle of the door. If she took off the door knob, she could pry the door open. After a minute of drilling, the knob started to get loose and soon fell off the door. Yes! Sunset stepped back a bit then kicked the door with all her might.

"It opened!" She cheered and went inside only to find Twilight on the floor tied up in a corner. "Twilight!" Sunset ran over to her and began untying the strings. "Who did this to you?" When the strings were off, she carefully pulled the tape of Twilights mouth.

When it was fully off, Twilight sprang on to Sunset wrapping her in a hug. "Sunset! I'm so glad you found me!" She cried.

Sunset wrapped her arms around Twilight as well. "Of course, I was worried about you."

"See boss? I knew I heard some noises in here.''

Sunset and Twilight gasped and pushed themselves off the floor looking at the men in black.

"You two did this? What's wrong with you!" Sunset clenched her fists.

"Hold on now lady, we're simply just stealing some money. No harm done," The other spoke.

"No harm done? No harm done!? You're committing theft, you obliterary trespassed, caused damage to her lab, and worst of all: you tied up my girlfriend and locked her in this room!" She yelled at them.

"Oh, I see what this is. I guess you're Sunset?"

She raised a brow. "Yes...? Sunset Shimmer."

"Hm, we heard of you. Anyway, you're too late Shimmy. We've already broke into the vault and started loading up some cash. We didn't collect nearly as much as we planned, but I suppose it's enough for now. All that's left to do is to tie up you and Sparky here again so we can be on our way. Don't try to resist, it'll make things easier for all of us."

"Never," She glared.

"Oh well." He shrugged. "Suit yourself."

Before he could grabbed the rope, Sunset flew forward kicking him in the stomach. "I don't think so."

"Bitch!" He clutched his stomach. "Get her!"

The other did as he was told and flew a punch towards the red head. Sunset dodged grabbing his fist and twisting his arm. She flung it downwards causing the man to fall to the ground. "Too easy."

The boss recovered from the last kick and managed to make his way to Sunset himself. He punched her stomach when she was distracted.

Sunset coughed and clicked the roof of her mouth with her tongue. "Big mistake. You see, I don't stand down until the people I care about are safe. I only fight nowadays when I'm doing the right thing; and right now, I'm protecting Twilight and her company. So, if you think I'm going to stand here and let you get away with it you're wrong!" She balled up her fist and straightly punched him in his face.

When he felt the impact, his nose started to bleed. "Argh! For a girl, you can fight."

Sunset smirked. "Flattery will get you nowhere."

He glared at her before looking at his partner who was laid on the floor. "Get up you fool!"

The one who was on the ground apparently heard him, but instead of getting up, he swerved his leg catching Sunset's. Sunset yelped and fell to the ground with a thud. Knowing what he accomplished, he picked himself off the ground returning to his boss.

"Sunset!" Twilight yelled terrified.

"Twilight, run," She told her.

"No Sunny. I'm not going to abandon you." Twilight said, and shakes her head.

"Haha! You're pathetic! Standing around while your lover does all the work. Why don't you help for once? Oh, or are you just that selfish?" One burglar laughed.

"What about you sun-girl? What are you; some gold-digger or something? I bet she wants the money for herself." The other laughed along.

Sunset gritted her teeth. Oh she was angry now. She picked herself off the ground only to feel light-headed. Sunset clutched her head with her hands breathing heavily. Her migraine was getting worse; It's like something was about to burst out of it.

"What happened, off your game?"

"Sunset, stop fighting before you get hurt!"

"Twilight, I'm f-fine."

"Get her!"

The one without the bloody nose went up to her now. Before Sunset could get back into her fighting stance, he uppercutted Sunset's jaw and shoved her backwards. She didn't have time to react, Sunset was pushed into one of the tables hitting her head on the side of it. She then collapsed to the floor.

"Sunny? Sunny!?" Twilight panicked.

Sunset was sweating and she squeaked before her life flashed before her eyes and went out cold. Twilight ran to her side crying. She shook Sunset, hard, but she just wouldn't bulge. No...

"Awe, Miss Sparkle is without any help. Our offer still stands, take us to the vault and we won't defeat you like we did your poor Sunset here." The boss man spoke.

"No. Y-You monster." She stood up. "YOU'LL PAY!"

"Hm, Oh?"

Twilight ran over to one of the computer desk. She unplugged and grabbed one of the computer monitors. She then ran back to both burglars and threw the monitor on top of their heads. Both men in black also collapsed. Blood was gushing out of certain spots on their heads and they were soon unconscious too like Sunset. Twilight sobbed dropping the monitor from her hands making it hit the floor and break into pieces.

She took her purse from one of the tables and with shaking hands, she started taking out her phone. She dialed 911.

Why did this happen? Just when things were starting to go good again, this had to happen. Twilight never thought about having an advanced security system. She had Gear Shift as a guard, but he was supposedly not enough. Two men were smart enough to knock him out with gas. Yes, the burglars never got into the vault, but the main and first floor of SAIP HQ got completely wrecked. Not to mention her computer lab; those devices were expensive. She could buy and renovate a whole new computer lab but that would really cut down on her budget.

This incident that happened at SAIP HQ would have the whole place shut down for at least a week. Which means, Sparktron would be late to get approved and put into marketing. However, that wasn't Twilight's main concern right now. She's currently sitting in one of the rooms at Canterlot Hospital. She wasn't badly hurt. She had some rope burn, some scars, and she had a cut which she had to get stitches for, but nothing serious. Although, herself isn't what she was concerned for either. Right now, she cared about her girlfriend, who was currently unconscious in the hospital bed in front of her.

Twilight was frowning sitting in her cushioned chair. This is the second time this month she's been in this state. She never wanted to see another hospital again! She hoped those guys the police arrested yesterday would be in jail for life! This wasn't fair, Sunset was just trying to protect her. Something Sunset has always done and something Twilight has always admired her for.

What's going to happen now? Couples weren't suppose to go through things like this. Twilight cursed; did the universe hate them for some reason? Couldn't they ever have at least a year of happiness? She was tired of these growing pains.

Twilight sighed looking over at her girlfriend. Sunset was in a hospital robe covered in a white blanket. She had some stitches and a bandaid on her forehead covering them. She looked peaceful while sleeping. Her head was titled a little to the side and her hair was still as gorgeous as ever. Even though it was a bit messy. She had completely no makeup on, not that she wore that much makeup; just eyeliner, mascara, and some blush. Her breathing was steady and her eyelashes would flutter now and then. Twilight just wanted her to wake up, she missed her.

At least if Sunset's amnesia never cures, she would still have her as a girlfriend. If that doesn't even work out, Twilight would learn how to love her as a f-friend. She was just happy to have Sunset in her life at all. Like she said, they are soulmates; nothing can tear them apart. They'll get through whatever the universe throws at them. They'll eventually find hope-

A rustling on the bed snapped Twilight from her thoughts. She could she Sunset's hands moving, but her eyes remained closed.

"T-Twilight..."

A Reminder Of Hope Part 7 | Epilogue

"They say a person needs three things to be truly happy in this world; someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for."

Yet, what if actually, you had all three... but in one?

"T-Twilight..."

Twilight was above all things that moment. There she was, looking as beautiful and peaceful as ever. Twilight couldn't help but smile brightly at that she. Sunset was laid in the bed, head no longer towards the side excluding her hair. Her eyes remained closed but her eyelashes fluttered. Twilight picked herself off her cushioned chair and made her way over to Sunset. She rested her bottom on the side of the hospital bed and held her girlfriends arm.

"You're awake... you don't know how happy I am to see that you're awake."

"...I can only imagine," Sunset spoke before revealing her cyan eyes.

Twilight softly giggled before moving her hand to Sunset's left cheek. Sunset responded with a small smile and moving her own hand to cup Twilight's that rested on her face.

"Are you alright?" She asked suddenly remembering her own concern.

"I'm okay. Some bruises, but nothing troubling. I'm more worried about you Sunny," Twilight replied.

"Heh, well I am the one in the hospital bed..."

"Yeah, I think I'm done with hospitals for awhile." Twilight says. Then Sunset coughs slightly. Twilight reacts by removing her hand and reaching for the plastic cup of water. She carefully hands it to Sunset. "Here; hydrate."

She took the cup, "Thank you." and drank.

"Don't mention it. So, how are you feeling?"

"A little sore, no headache or anything."

"Good." Twilight smiled.

"So what happened if you don't mind me asking?" Sunset questioned.

Twilight's face becomes neutral again. "The men, the ones who tried to rob me, got arrested."

Sunset nodded. "They did? I remember I beat them up pretty badly. I suppose they got to me before I could finish them off. What happened after I, I'm guessing blacked out?"

Twilight sighed. "You did. Also, they tried to bribe me again afterwards. Obviously I refused and then they tried to attack me. I was so furious at the time I just grabbed one of the computer monitors from one of the desks and threw it on their thick heads."

Sunset started to laugh. "Smart thinking, wish I thought of that. Thanks for standing up for me babe."

Twilight playfully rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah. So when they went unconscious, I went for my purse and dialed the police. They came and took those burglars to jail."

"Right where they belong," Sunset said.

"-and as for SAIP HQ, our computer lab is is destructed, the whole first floor is damaged, the vault has been violated, and the lobby is just a mess. Luckily they didn't get into any of our project rooms, but it's going to take us awhile to fix everything up. Gear Shift, my only guard, was knocked out from sleeping gas so we have to have people come in to purify the air in places the gas could of sneaked into," Twilight explained.

"I'm so sorry Twilight. I should of left the house way earlier than I did to check in on you; but you said you'd call if something happened. It was then too late when I realized something felt wrong." Sunset frowned.

Twilight shook her head. "No, don't blame yourself Sunset. I was so caught up in my work I should've realized how late it was. When I saw those two men lurking in the corner, I should of just called the police then and there!"

Sunset reached and took Twilight's hand. "Hey, I know how you can get. I expected you to run a little late like usual. Besides, those crooks had you on the spot. There was nothing you could really do but run. I mean... you could've ran in the opposite direction from the building but whatever works ya know?"

Twilight groaned. "I panicked okay? I thought it would be safe inside but once again, my instincts were way off. Way to go me! Go inside the exact building the bad guys want to rob!" She slapped her face with her free hand. "Wait, how'd you know I would be late from work?" She asked suspiciously.

"Aren't you always?" Sunset tilted her head.

"Well yeah but..."

"You're changing the topic. Please, continue," She interrupted.

"Okay, so I guess it's not any of our faults besides the burglars. Although I am going to buy a better security system and hire some more guards," Twilight finished.

"Great idea. Better safe than sorry," Sunset said then chuckled into space. Twilight joined in after her.

When the laughs dialed down, Twilight softly sighed and started to look around the room still at her girlfriend's side.

"I guess this wasn't exactly how you want to restart our relationship huh?" Twilight brings up.

Sunset faced her again. "What do you mean?"

"It just seems we're already off to a rocky start. I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound mundane, but it was only two days ago we decided to stop stressing and just begin our relationship again from the top."

Sunset blinked. "Why would we need to do that?"

Twilight looked at her confused. "It was your idea! What, are you saying you don't want to try this anymore?" Twilight said with a bit of hurt in her voice.

"Well I'm just saying, why do we need to try if we already are in a good place?" Sunset mentioned.

Twilight shook her head. "That's the thing; we aren't."

"Oh... why?" She asked.

Twilight stared at her. "Uhm because, things, we- why are you making this difficult? You already know why."

Sunset shrugged. "Maybe, but I want to hear your perspective."

"Things have changed." Twilight exclaimed. She then realized her response and lowered her gaze.

"That's really your answer? ...Okay then." Sunset crosses her arms and closes her eyes once again. "Wake me up at dusk."

"...You just totally avoided using our names- wait a second. You can't do that Sunset! You asked me a question and I answered truthfully. Now you're just acting immature." Twilight snarked.

"Am I?" She opened her eyes again. "What changed Twilight? Just because someone loses their memory doesn't mean anything has changed."

"..."

"What's wrong now? Lost your vocabulary?"

"...Why are we fighting?" Twilight quietly spoke.

"Not fighting, discussing," Sunset corrects.

"Why are we discussing this? I thought we were fine." Twilight bit her lip.

"No, we are fine. I just want to know what gave you the obligation to say that."

"The obligation to say what?" Twilight asked in a demanding tone.

"The obligation to say 'try' and that 'things have changed'. What has changed exactly? I'm still Sunset Shimmer."

Twilight nodded. "You are, I'm sorry. You're the same woman that became my best friend, the same woman who has experienced with me, and the same woman I fell in love with. Nothings really changed, I guess I don't really know why I said that... you just had me on the spot and-"

Sunset took her girlfriend's hand again. "I forgive you."

Twilight squeezed Sunset's hand and smiled. "So, what now?"

"I dunno, what's your opinion on having children?" Sunset asked.

Twilight glared at her, face flushed a deep red. "S-Sunset... we aren't even engaged or anything..."

Sunset giggled. "I'm just messing with you Twi. Though, I could of sworn I..."

Twilight tilted her head. "You could of sworn you what? You just trailed off," She said.

"I..." Sunset felt confused. She rubbed her head and bit her lip.

"Sunny?" Twilight called out.

"Twilight I- I think-"

"What?" Twilight was really curious now.

Sunset opened her mouth to answer but nothing came out. Twilight looked over to her hand and felt Sunset's grip on her loosen. Scared, she faced Sunset again who's eyes were again closed. Her mouth was barely an inch open and her breathing was steady.

"Sunset!?" Twilight panicked. "No, not again. You can't keep fainting on me Sunny!"

When Sunset awoke again, she wasn't confused this time. In fact, she felt well rested and actually pretty great. It was kind of dim in the room; it must've been around dinner time. She looked around and saw her girlfriend who was sitting in the same chair she was in last time, but instead of on her phone, she was watching the TV. She felt a rush while she was staring at her. A good rush; her heart started to pound rapidly. Sunset sprung out of her laid position and sat straight up.

"Twilight!"

Twilight jumped when she heard Sunset. "Sunset?" She rushed over to the bed and sat on the side next to girlfriend. "You're awake again; you fell asleep when we were talking the last time and-"

Before she could let Twilight finish her sentence, Sunset pressed her lips against Twilights. Twilight was in shock and a little bit weirded out... but decided to deal with it. So, she melted into the kiss applying her own force. Sunset wrapped her arms around her girlfriends torso pulling her in closer. Twilight put her hands onto Sunset's shoulders and moaned. The kiss lasted a full minute before Sunset pulled away leaving a smack at the end. The pink on Twilight's cheeks showed that she was now enjoyed.

"Oh I've missed that..." Sunset happily sighed.

Twilight giggled. "Yeah, I've missed you too- wait, Sunset you...?"

Sunset only smiled at her.

Twilight went wide eyed and threw herself onto Sunset embracing her in a tight hug. Sunset almost fell backwards from the impact. She felt Twilight beginning to cry into her chest.

"Oh my goodness, oh my goodness..." Twilight repeated in between her squeaks.

Sunset put her right hand on the back of Twilight's head and started rubbing her hair. "I know, vent all you need to."

"I can't believe it... it's almost been a whole month... but it felt like years..." Twilight looked up and sniffed.

Sunset kissed the top of Twilight's forehead. "You never gave up."

She shook her head. "Of course not! I would have never given up on you Sunset!"

Sunset nodded and paused before saying anything else."I'm sorry," Sunset apologized.

Twilight blinked and finally ended the embrace. "For what?"

"Causing an accident, making you go through this pain, going unconscious multiple times..." Sunset went through the list.

"Don't apologize for that. You didn't mean for those to happen Sunset. Besides, we're okay and that's all that matters," Twilight told her.

"I guess that's true," Sunset softly laughed.

Twilight nodded. "So... everything?" She asked.

Sunset nodded back. "Yes, everything. I remember college, I remember work, I remember adulthood, and of course I remember you and me."

Twilight sighed. "Magnifique."

Sunset smiled and held both of Twilight's hands. "Je t'aime."

"Je t'aime aussi," Twilight smiled back.

"So... you want to get the doctor? I'm so ready to get out of here..."

"In a minute," Twilight said scotting to the back of the bed next to Sunset and laying down. "I want to cherish this moment a little longer."

Sunset laid herself down and rested her head on Twilight's shoulder. "Alright, I can- will wait."

"Shut up," Twilight said.

"Hey, fine." She sighed. "What's another moment right?" Sunset mentioned.

"Yeah, it gives us more to remember," Twilight replied.

"We can only hope..." Sunset said.

There was a pause. "No, don't say things like that."

"Why? It's true," Sunset stated.

"..."

"Twilight,"

"Mm?"

"It's hard to forget someone... who's given you so much to remember."

Twilight grinned brightly. She reached her head down and Sunset reached hers upwards as they shared another kiss. They locked their hands together and Sunset returned to resting her head on Twilight's shoulder.

So much had happened. The couple though, were happy. Love can be a fickle thing... but Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle always managed to make it work. Just like, well, like they do everything.

FIN~

So, that's their story. What's yours?
