> Because of You > by Taku45k > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter I > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A short young teenager was walking about a school like she didn't know what to do. Her footsteps sounded softly as she had no where to go. Her purple skin was beautiful, yet the marks on her skin was from hidden from sight. Her hair was dark purple with pink highlight. Her hair was in a bun. Her clothes were purple and pink sleepwear. She had her brain-smarts and yet, her brain-smarts couldn't help with answering her question. Why does everyone bully me? Twilight honestly did not know why she was bullied by the other students. She was cute, but she wasn't popular with the other students. Is it because I'm nerdy? Twilight wondered. A sigh had escaped through her lips and she regretted it immediately. She started to run to the empty hallway that had her locker with her hand over her mouth. Despite what the other students thought, Twilight was truly frightened of Principal Cinch. Principal Cinch was stronger and older than her and whatever she say goes, right? Twilight was used to being degraded by her peers, but seeing Principal Cinch made her stomach twist and turn so violently that Twilight always suffers from bile in her throat just by being near Principal Cinch. Twilight nursed her arm after her last encounter with the woman. She has no reason being a principal! Twilight thought, fearfully. The fingerprints on her arm that she kept hidden with her hand would be believed to be something from another person, so Twilight always wear long sleeves because of Principal Cinch's abuse. Twilight didn't understand why Principal Cinch abuses her and only her. Was she really that weak? Twilight felt tears welling up in her eyes. She stopped bringing Spike with her to school because of her and Principal Cinch's increased "interactions", but now, she wished that she had brought the cute and sweet purple puppy with her. Spike could always calm her down during her extreme stressed out situations. Twilight was only 16 years old and yet, dealing with Principal Cinch makes her seem much younger than she actually was. She felt like she was a weak, defenseless child when in Principal Cinch's over towering shadow. Principal Cinch enjoyed power a bit too much and Twilight could see that, especially when Principal Cinch takes glee in the fact that Twilight is too shy to even stop her. As much as Twilight wanted to hate Principal Cinch, she couldn't. Instead, she hated herself. All of the sudden, blood came out like a small trickle. Twilight had cut herself with a sharp art tool, but she didn't use the box-cutter, she used the retractable razor that she had "borrowed" after a incident with Principal Cinch. Twilight had cut her arm a little, however, she stopped the bleeding because she didn't want the new cut to get infected. She cleaned her injury up and she curled up into a ball into the science lab that was given to her. It was nighttime that the moment. Twilight rarely goes home because she always had to do work for her teachers, but really, she had to finish other students' homework. She doesn't know why the other students can just ask their friends for help, but no, they come to her and demand that she "get it done or else". Despite the fact that students' threats don't scare her as badly as they did before, she is always reminded of Principal Cinch's look of glee before hurting her. Twilight shook her head to try to clear her head of any negative thoughts so she could sleep without nightmares. Her plan failed as she had a very long nightmare about Principal Cinch hurting her even worse than before. The next morning, Twilight woke up to see Principal Cinch. She gave a start and then it was revealed that it was actually Dean Cadance. "Twilight, it's me. It's me." She reassures Twilight. Twilight leaped into her waiting arms and the Dean hugged her. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Dean Cadance was floored by Twilight's apologies. She had nothing to apologize about! She was only a child! Dean Cadance couldn't believe her eyes when she had first seen Twilight close herself up "Don't you dare apologize! It's not your fault!" She tells Twilight. Twilight was openly sobbing by now. She felt pathetic and weak. Twilight stayed in the Dean's soft and gentle hold. Dean Cadance secretly wanted to send Twilight to Canterlot High School because that school is sure a hell of a lot better choice for Twilight and Twilight really looked liked she needs the escape. "What should I do? No one enjoys my company except you." Twilight tells Dean Cadance. The Dean gazed over at Twilight. All she needs is one, good, reliable listener. She thought. "What you need to do is find a person that would listen to you without adding their input without asking. You need a friend, Twilight." Dean Cadance tells Twilight. Twilight panicked at that. She doesn't even know how to attract people to her and yet, she would have to befriend someone. "It's not that easy. I'm a bookworm. Who will listen to me?" Twilight asked Dean Cadance. Dean Cadance placed her hand on Twilight's cheek and she smiled down at her. "I'm sure you will find the one friend that will listen to you." She gave her positive quarter for the day and Twilight smiled shyly at her. "I will hold you to your words." Twilight tells Dean Cadance. Dean Cadance grins at Twilight. "Go to Canterlot High School after school. They have many friendly students there." She tells Twilight. Twilight nodded her head and she decided to face the day with no determination. Twilight was prepared to have someone throw things at her, but even that didn't seem to please her other peers at the moment. Twilight was shocked by the fact that no one was throwing things at her. > Chapter II > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After Twilight survived the school day, she went to find Canterlot High School. When she had finally arrived there, she had seen a lot of students walking with each other, talking together and playing and laughing together. Twilight knew that she was out of her element and so, she prepared to walk away. Until someone had called out to her. "Hey!" Another girl had called out to Twilight. Twilight turned and she saw a girl with blonde hair and crossed eyes. Twilight didn't mind the girl talking to her, but she wondered if the girl would mind talking to her. "Hello." Twilight answered back shyly. The cross-eyed girl smiled at Twilight and she noticed that her uniform of from Crystal Prep. "You go to Crystal Prep." The girl was making a statement, Twilight noticed. "I do, but I don't really enjoy it." Twilight revealed to the girl. The girl was even more shocked that Twilight would just tell her that. "I'm sorry." Twilight apologized as a habit. The girl then realized that she had paused and she grinned at Twilight. "No, no. I'm sorry. I should have never paused like that. I'm Derpy." Derpy had decided to introduce herself to Twilight. Twilight smiled shyly. "I'm Twilight S-Sparkle." Twilight stuttered. Derpy grinned at Twilight. She was on the way to making a brand-new friend. "What brings you around here, if you don't mind me asking?" Derpy asked Twilight. The shy girl actually thought about not telling her the truth, but she decided that the truth was more important when she realized that making friends meant telling the truth. "No at all. At Crystal Prep, my principal abuses me." Twilight tells Derpy, who gasped in horror. Never in her life have Derpy had ever heard that before! "Why? You're the sweetest thing I've ever met besides other people that I know." Derpy tells Twilight, who smiled at her. It felt nice to be told that she was sweet. "Well, I honestly don't why she abuses me. I'm weak, so that's probably why." Twilight answered Derpy's question. Derpy was shocked at this. Her principal abuses her because she thinks that she is weak? Derpy felt sick to her stomach and she had the urge to vomit. "She's vile." Derpy mumbled, but Twilight had heard her and she hugged herself. "I know." Twilight agrees with her. Derpy gazed at Twilight. "Does anyone else know about her...deeds?" Derpy questioned carefully. Twilight was really thrown into a hole now. "I'll tell you, but please don't tell anyone else, please." Twilight pleaded with Derpy. Derpy understood the seriousness of the situation and she promised to not tell anyone else about what Twilight is going to tell her. "The truth is, one knows excepts for my family and now you. The woman is vile and she knows how to be secretive about things that she doesn't want to go public." Twilight tells Derpy. Derpy gasped and she felt uncharacteristic anger running through her body. "She...doesn't deserve to be a principal." Twilight could hear the anger in Derpy's voice and she knew that she had made a very, very big mistake in telling her the entire truth of why Twilight never told anyone other than her family, minus Cadance. "That woman wouldn't last one day against Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna." Derpy tells Twilight, who panicked at the motion of getting other adults involved. Even though, she knew that it would be safe for her, in the long run, it would kill her for having other people involved in the large mess. "No, Derpy, you can't tell anyone about this." Twilight tells Derpy. Derpy frowned at this and Twilight gave her a weak smile. "I don't want you getting hurt. You're my friend." Twilight tells Derpy, who smiled at the statement that Twilight had said. She called me her friend! I'm so happy! Derpy thought, excitedly. Derpy turned serious. "Please promise me that you will be careful." Derpy tells Twilight. Twilight giggled at Derpy's worry for her. "I promise I will be careful." Twilight swore to Derpy. Derpy smiled at Twilight and she checked the time. "Oh no, I'm going to late deliver newspapers!" Derpy panicked. Twilight panicked for her new friend when she saw Principal Cinch walking in the street. No doubt she is looking for me. Twilight thought. Hoping Derpy will forgive her, Twilight gags Derpy with her hand and she pulled her into the bushes. This made Derpy squeaked in fear. "I'm sorry, Derpy." Twilight tells Derpy, who started to calm down. Tears had grew in her eyes due to the shock. "Please calm down, I don't want Principal Cinch to see you." Twilight tells Derpy, who obeyed Twilight's gentle order to keep quiet. She's here? But, she's the principal of Crystal Prep! Derpy thought. However, this was Twilight's thought as well. Fortunately, Principal Cinch had quickly left as soon as she arrived. Twilight sighed in relief and she drops her hand from Derpy's mouth. "I'm sorry, but what the living heck was that?" Derpy asked very politely. Twilight grinned sheepishly at Derpy, a smile that Derpy found infectious and she smiled too. "Like I said, I'm sorry. Principal Cinch likes me to stay within the city's borders." Twilight reveals to Derpy. "She can't force you to stay in the city! She's not your parent."Derpy tells Twilight. Twilight knew this as plain as day, however, Twilight also knew that her mother was really wanting to punch Principal Cinch because she tells her everything that the woman does to her. "True, but she has her ways." Twilight tells Derpy, who whimpered in the hug that Twilight had given her. "I know you don't like it, but I will stay safe. I promise." Twilight tells Derpy. "Wait, before you leave, can I have your number?" Derpy asked Twilight. Twilight smiled softly. "Of course, Derpy. I'll see you tomorrow." Twilight tells Derpy after exchanging numbers. Twilight began her trail home. When she arrived home, she quickly hid in the bushes as she had seen Principal Cinch just walking out of her home with her father leading the woman out of the house. Twilight founded herself really pissed off. What the fuck is she trying to convince my parents of? Twilight wondered in pure rage. Her father saw her and he beckoned her in when Principal Cinch had left. Twilight held in her anger and she pretended that she didn't feel anything. "So, Dad, why was she here?" Twilight's father, Night Light and her mother, Twilight Velvet, noticed the secret anger that Twilight was hiding very well and it frightened them. Twilight Velvet decided to answer her mentally raging daughter. "Don't worry, Twilight, we don't believe anything that she has told us." She tells Twilight, who visibly started to grow relaxed. "Yes, we know that you won't do anything to provoke Principal Cinch unintentionally." Night Light finishes for his wife, making Twilight totally lose her rage for the night. "That's good for me." Twilight answers her parents and they nodded their heads. It was time for Twilight to be herself when she entered the house. When they shut the door, Twilight let loose. "What was she thinking?!" Twilight shouted. Because her parents knew that she wasn't really shouting at them and that she was just letting out steam, they smiled at her. "We honestly don't know what she was thinking, but she had better be glad that Cadance wasn't here and had she known about the issue..." Twilight Velvet shuddered at Cadance's pure disdain for the woman and she had stopped speaking. "I think the bit-I mean, creepy lady, was stalking me earlier." Twilight changed her words after her mother sent her a glare. "Why would you think that?" Her father questioned her. "Would this have anything to do with you just coming home?" Her mother asked. "Yes. I went to Canterlot High at Cadance's prudent thoughts for me wanting a friend. When I got there, I've made a new friend named Derpy." Twilight tells her parents, who were glad that their only daughter made a brand-new friend. "Is she sweet?" Her mother asked. "Extremely." Twilight answered. Twilight told her parents the whole scenario where she had met Derpy and when she had got done telling her story, her parents hugged her. "Congratulations for your very first friend, Twilight!" Shining Amor had tell Twilight. Twilight was shocked to see her older brother back so early. Cadance was right behind him, a scowl on her face. But, when she sees Twilight, the scowl disappears and a smile replaces the scowl on Cadance's face. "You were right, honey. Seeing Twilight happy does makes Cadance happy." Night Light tells his wife, who grins at him. "Of course, I was right. Afterall, Cadance did babysat Twilight." She reminds Night Light. After getting over slight embarrassment at the fact that the Dean was her babysitter, Twilight retold the story about meeting Derpy. "Canterlot High, huh? They'll more friendly than Crystal Prep students. No offense." Twilight Velvet tells her children and Cadance, who all attended Crystal Prep. They didn't mind as they knew that it was true. Canterlot High School students were a whole lot nicer than Crystal Prep students and Twilight most certainly know that as a fact.
