> Twilight's Gift > by Nagato > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Unexpected guests” Ponyville Golden Oak Library Walking through the deserted streets of Ponyville, Twilight Sparkle, the element of magic, was making her way home. She looked completely tired and restless, and wanted nothing more than to go to bed. The source of her tiredness was her recent birthday party held at Canterlot. It had been a really good party too. She had had a lot of fun with her friends; and all that dancing and singing really had taken her a tool on her, but she definitively had had a fun time with the other ponies. Plus, she got to meet new ponies! That gentlecolt Fancy Pants was really kind with them, and he complimented her dress! Twilight felt her cheeks flush; it wasn’t often that anyone but her friends and spike said good things about her, and since she wasn’t the most social of mares, more often than not she was ignored “I guess Pinkie and Rarity are right though, I do need to get out more often…” Her eyes went upward, gazing at the starry sky brought by Princess Luna “I suppose I could ask the girls for some advice about social interactions…all of them seems to be pretty social, even Fluttershy…” Her almost closed eyes were filled with uncertainty, her mind wondering how even her shy friend seemed to have more friends than herself. Suddenly, she lifted her head, her snout pointing straight ahead. A glint in her eyes indicated that she had a new idea in her mind. “…Or, I could look for a book about social interactions between ponies, learn everything in it, and then ask for advice! Just in case the book doesn’t work” The last part was murmured through her teeth. She kept her pace, her expression slowly changing. She was smiling, coyly, at her own silly idea causing her to blush. Her tiredness was really affecting her head. “I really need to hang out with the girls more often. I should have just taken the chance to interact with ponies back in my party…” she was looking at her own hooves, her expression was a sad one “…although I did pretty good talking with them, I’ve never really been a social pony” And even though she wished it had been a more private affair, she still had enjoyed herself and ended up making a few new friends. And to Twilight Sparkle, making new friends always was something worth remembering. She just needed to learn how to better communicate! After all, she was Celestia’s student, and her teacher was the most sociable pony on all of Equestria; she didn’t even need to talk to make new friends! Now that was a goal worth of being achieved. How could it be to be friend with everyone? To bond with other ponies, she thought. It would be wonderful. Her own mind said. The purple mare thought of bonds with all her friends, but especially the rest of the elements and Spike. To be so close to somepony, close enough to even share your deepest secrets, your fears…it truly was something beautiful, and every day Twilight tried to make the most of her time, to spend it with all the girls, to make Spike laugh, to share smiles with all of them. Making new friends was amazing, and sometimes Twilight wondered if her cutie mark should be related with making friends instead of magic. Maybe if that was the case I wouldn’t have any problems talking to other ponies... But then again, Twilight loved her cutie mark; it was such a wonderful thing. To learn all about magic, being able to immerse her own self in the knowledge of all of the ponies that came before her. Those who worked hard to decipher the secrets of magic…it was such an interesting thing, and just for that Twilight didn’t mind having to work a little harder than other ponies to make friends. And she had so much to discover! The amount of new things popping up every day was astonishing. New discoveries appeared every other day, sometimes old theories were proven right after being called nothing but madness when there wasn’t as much knowledge as now. Other times, it was popular studies that were prove to be wrong and subsequently discarded, not without trying to investigate if there wasn’t anything worth saving in it. Also, being the student of the supreme ruler of the country had its perks, although she more often than not chose to not abuse it. However, she did use that influence a few times, especially when she was younger and didn’t have the patience to wait for the new books for her collection to arrive. Of course, she eventually snapped out of it, mostly because of a talk with her teacher; Celestia wasn’t harsh on her, but her words did transmit that she was disappointed of her student showing such attitude. And just like that, the then purple filly decided to stop and learn patience. And it worked out quite nicely. Her patience was one of her most positive traits, not even Fluttershy had her ability to wait so much. Now that she thought of it, most of her friends were quite reckless sometimes, even Fluttershy. “Me too, though. I can be completely insufferable sometimes…heh…” She chuckled at her memories. I should quick my pace, at this rate I’ll never get home… Sighing loudly and with a tired smile in her face, she started to walk a little faster. Humming to herself, she suddenly remembered that Spike wasn’t in their home; the little dragon had gone with the Crusaders on a sleepover. She was thankful for that, she didn’t want Spike to be alone when she wasn’t around, and honestly, she felt that with him around them those little fillies might hold back a bit their need to go ‘’crusading’’. Giggling at the memories of their antics, the unicorn mare kept walking. “…everything it’s so calm and peaceful…what a difference with Canterlot huh…” Her eyes darted over all the houses that were in the way to her own. She then started to imagine, all the ponies out, selling their stuff, interacting with each other, smiling, helping. Sharing the magic of friendship with others. I love it. Soon enough, she could see the silhouette of her tree at the distance. Letting a breath escape her mouth, she moved forward. Slowly but surely, her home was getting closer, and knowing that, her body was pretty much screaming at her to just get over it and enter the house and go to sleep. As she approached the old library, she noticed something. Her house was glowing. As if it was a beacon on the middle of the darkness. Quickening her pace, she found out that it wasn’t her entire house that was glowing. It was her room. Immediately thoughts about a new threat or enemy filled her mind. With a worried gaze at her surroundings, she was thankful that everypony was sleeping or else they would be swallowed by collective panic. It may even be some kind of harmless glow! She thought to herself. When she reached the house, she opened the door; entering the house in a dash, she slammed the door behind herself. With big eyes, the purple mare’s gaze fell over each single book on her shelves, taking note on anything that could be considered as out of place. Once she realized that her books hadn’t been touched or messed with, she left out a relieved sigh. But then, if it wasn’t for her books, why was somepony in her house? She didn’t really have anything worth stealing besides some of her personal collections, so the idea that whoever was there didn’t want her books was confusing. Maybe the pony wanted some of her pillows? As silly as it sounded, she remembered that there was a Pillow thief in Canterlot back when she was a filly. “I guess I won’t need to call my friends…the girls are probably all tired too, especially Rarity, all that fancy talk must had been tiresome” She half smiled at that, reaching the stairs to her room. Starting to walk, she went upstairs, her pace neither fast nor slow. “The thief may even be reasonable! We could talk this out and then…ugh, I just want to go sleep” She murmured to herself, a frown making way into her face. The moment she reached the end of the stairs, the door to her room was there, the glow from the other side escaping from the bottom of the door. Taking a long breath, she went forward and opened it. The full brightness of the glow hit her right into her eyes, making her yelp in surprise and then fell in the floor. Gritting her teeth, she waited until she felt her sight back, and after several seconds she opened them slowly, the light still bothering, but not enough to blind her. Her gaze went right into her bed, from where the glow was coming. She raised a brow in confusion. There was a pair of creatures lying there, seemingly sleeping, completely oblivious of what they were doing. “How…? What? What are these?” She made the way to her bed walking slowly, making sure she didn’t wake them up. Immediately, her academic-self took over and mixed with her curious side and so she started to examine her guests. “Four limbs, like a pony but not quite the same, no. Completely different structure, arranged in a different way…hmmm, bipedal probably-“She stopped for a moment, looking at the one with blonde hair that was giving her its back “-no tail to balance itself…how does it walk?” Feeling her curiosity reaching new heights, she put a hoof on her chin, trying to find a way to such a development in a creature. A sparkle appeared in her eyes, and she quickly started to recite her new hypothesis. “Maybe they don’t need a tail, because they use magic!" A wide smile plastered in her face, the unicorn was going back and forth in front of the bed. She was ecstatic. They certainly weren’t the first species to use magic to facilitate their movement, even ponies did that. But they were a completely new species, with unique features from what little she had gathered by only looking at them. Nodding to herself, she continued. “They seem small, like, really small…maybe they’re infants…it could be it, but then, how did they managed to get into my house? And why? “ Taking a closer look, she was examining their faces, noticing their chubbiness. Along with the surprising lack of fur in their bodies. All but their heads were hairless, each one sporting a color that made them more striking to the sight. Blonde and black. And then another thing dawned on her. They were dressed. “From where did they get clothes?” Now she was truly confused, why were they using clothes? And just a moment after that thought, a second one came into her mind, answering her question immediately. They didn’t have any fur except for the one in their heads it seemed. So maybe they needed to use clothes so they wouldn’t feel the cold air? “That makes sense” she whispered to herself. Besides, what they were wearing seemed really comfy too. And thankfully winter wasn’t there yet, so the cold of the night would not affect them as hard. She looked at her floor for a moment, before looking back at her guests. “But they could be using them for something else too; there could be some kind of cultural significance to it… I need to know more, and if they are infants, I’d be able to take care of them until Fluttershy comes here or I can talk about it with the girls. Maybe their species are in one of my books? I doubt it, but I won’t be overconfident with this one” They are kinda cute though. She thought. “I need to examine them further; books can wait a few minutes…” Twilight wasn’t aware of it, but in her excitement she had activated her magic, and the horn on top of her head was covered in power, buzzling as if it was alive. The purple glow emanating from her horn was mixing with the almost white glow present in the whole room, and suddenly she felt the need to take an even closer look at them. As if a voice was urging her to do it. With her head approaching them, she took notice of the difference in size between the two and herself; they were really small, even for pony standards. Cooing a little she noticed the blonde one had whiskers-like marks in its cheeks, and the black haired one had a really chubby face. It was a cuteness overload. If there was something that ponies love more than making friends and be happy, would be cute things. And these babies were like nothing she had seen before. She couldn’t help but try to cuddle them, to hug and hold them in her hoofs. She could feel her body vibrating with excitement. And then, it happened. Once her horn was close enough, the white glow that came from both of them turned into a golden and purple one, quickly expanding and swallowing her body, and with a yelp she felt it, the foreign power coming from them getting into her horn, into herself, and then a sudden pain filled her skull. Twilight fell to the ground, twitching and with white eyes, her horn pulsing with power. Everything was in silence for a few moments. The only sound was that of the mare’s twitching body. And then it exploded. A light so bright that it could have been confused with the sun exploded out of her body, bathing the entirety of Ponyville in a lightshow. And just like that it banished. Right before something even greater happened. Twilight Sparkle, Element of magic, Princess Celestia’s student and resident of Ponyville couldn’t see it, but once she passed out, a wave of pure energy escaped her house, quickly covering Ponyville and the surroundings in a faint glow, a glow that turned into a brightness fury that like a fire, expanded to every direction. All of the animals living in Ponyville were suddenly waken up by a sudden urge to run around, to spend all the energy that had just got into their bodies. Dogs howled, cats started to call each other in the middle of the night and the birds around the little town flew out of it. In mere minutes, this new energy was travelling all over the sea, quickly crossing it and reaching new places, bathing them in its power. Nobody but those with an extreme magical ability could feel it, but this energy was rapidly covering the entire world. As if it was a blanket covering a body, the energy did the same with the planet. And everywhere, it was absorbed by the planet itself, accepted into the world, into Equus. All over the globe, this unknown power planted its own seeds; for these seeds, nine of them, was reserved most of the power. And like any seed, they were put in the earth, waiting for the moment to awaken. And that they would do, in the right moment, and when they finally did, everyone in Equus will feel it. In the middle of the night in the starry sky, Princess Luna, the younger sister of Princess Celestia, was flying. She was enjoying of her time of the day to rule, making sure that everypony slept well. At first she felt kind of offended by it. Before, most ponies would just go to sleep and let her alone; but things had changed. Now there was as much activity during the night as in the day. Ponies were going out to party, to spend time with their friends and enjoy the night. Her night. The one thing she commanded. It felt so good, to know that in this new era the ponies liked to enjoy the gift she gave them. It filled her heart with warm, and made her feel wanted and loved. It was as Celestia said. The times had changed. And she loved it. Sure it was quite hard to get accustomed to it after so much time in loneliness, but with the help of her new friend she had managed to do it. Luna was certainly grateful, and she intended to make the most out of her time to rule. So with a smile in her face, she flew over Manehattan, letting her magic reach everypony in the city. Immediately, the dreams of thousands of ponies filled her mind, and with a smile, she set out to go into their dreams looking for any nightmare that could terrorize their rest. Or she was about to, because suddenly and without any warning, a wave of raw energy hit her, almost knocking her out of the sky, the only reason she did not fall being her pure will to not fall. Huffing, she looked to where the wave came from…which was everywhere. With worried eyes, she looked as waves came from east and west, colliding with those from south and north, and creating new waves that quickly travelled to new destinations. Her breath was taken away; she was completely speechless for a few moments. “I…Celestia must know about this…such power…” She hadn’t ever felt something quite like that. As Nightmare Moon she was powerful, but it wasn’t the same. What hit her was unaltered and pure power, almost natural, as if the world suddenly developed its own brand of energy. Her gaze went upwards, focusing on her symbol, the shining moon. “I shall part now…sorry my little ponies, today I won’t be able to assist you all in your dreams…” And with a pitiful look, she gave her back to the city, launching herself soaring through the skies right into Canterlot. I’m really sorry… > Naruto & Sasuke > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1: “Naruto & Sasuke” As the sun made its way through the windows of the Golden Oak Library, the purple pony that owned the place was sleeping peacefully, that is until the sunrays reached her face, and with a scowl in her face the mare slowly wake up and tried to move out of the light’s way. But immediately she regretted her decision and let out a whimper; the pain that was running through her body, especially her horn, was unbearable. It made her let out a few tears that fell to the ground. Her eyes were clenched tight, both because of the pain and to block out the sun’s light. Slowly, she tried to get up and took notice of how horrible her entire body felt. Her quivering legs almost gave up under her own weight, and the mare let out a little smile when she finally stood on her four limbs. Her eyes were still trying to get used to the light that shone in her room, but she could finally see. Letting a few breaths out, the mare’s gaze fell on the creatures on her bed. The bed that now was on the other side of the room. What…? At first she thought that it was her bed that had been moved, but actually it was her that somehow ended on the other end of the room. “How did I end up here…? Last thing I remember was approaching them to get a closer look and then…ugh my head “She put a hoof on her forehead right below her horn. Her entire head felt as if it could explode at any moment. The source of all of that pain, her horn, felt as if it had been burned to its core. And that pain was clouding her mind, preventing the unicorn to function as usual. Sighing after acknowledging to herself that the pain wasn’t going away anytime soon, Twilight made her way to the bed. The mare glanced at both of her guests, using the sunlight to take on every detail she might have missed last night. As she had noted before, both of them were using clothes, but it was now that she noticed the details on those garments. The one with black hair, the chubbier of the two, wore a blue overall that enveloped its body almost completely, the exception being its head. There were black and purple lines went through the entire overall. Her eyes drifted to its face, noticing that the skin was overly pale, almost too pale she thought. Frowning a little, she inspected the little creature a bit more. After a minute or two, her eyes moved onto the second baby, the blonde creature wearing an orange overall. She smiled at the sight of its whiskers, and traced a hoof over its face, finding the skin really soft and smooth. The orange garment had lines going all over it too, the difference being that instead of black and purple it was black and golden. Unlike its companion, the skin wasn’t as pale, instead having a healthy tan on it. Letting out a sigh, her gaze hopped from one to the other, taking on as many details as she could and comparing each one to the other. They were roughly the same size and obviously both belonged to the same species. Once she felt there wasn't anything else she could get from them without taking their clothes off them, she started to mumble to herself. “They are mammals, the fur on their heads adds up with their warm blood. Their species seems to be bipedal; however whatever method they use to move still eludes me. They don’t seem to have a tail to balance them out, and as of now my only hypothesis is that they use magic to move and not fall, but if so, how did their species develop in such a way…?” Her head was on the bed, her cheeks resting on one of her hooves. Her eyes looked dreamy and distant as she lost herself in her own thoughts. They were so distant indeed that they didn’t notice a pair of blue eyes looking at her. Not until a tiny limb reached out and touched her muzzle. A yelp escaped her mouth as she fell to the ground. As the pain was now running through her body at full force, Twilight slowly got up, her eyes meeting those of one of her guests. Blue met violet as both creatures locked their eyes on each other’s. And just a few seconds after that, the blonde creature smiled before letting out a giggle that quickly turned into loud chuckles that woke up its companion. The black haired one looked disoriented and confused, until the moment he saw his orange clad counterpart, in which moment he started to giggle too. Twilight was dumbfounded, unable to speak as their giggles filled the room; but soon enough she found herself grinning to them, their adorable smiles getting to her. Although she didn’t notice it, the pain in her head had slowly retreated back, almost disappearing completely. Using one of her hooves to pet the blonde’s head, Twilight talked to them. “Hi! My name is Twilight Sparkle, I’m princess Celestia’s student, and…huh, dumb twilight…” She had started her introduction striking a heroic pose, but after a few words she notice how neither of them were paying her any attention. One was sucking his hand while the other had rolled over and was looking at the ceiling. And of course they would do that, she told herself. They were babies, and if the rest of the living being in equestrian were any indication, they just weren’t smart enough to even understand her and their attention span was almost nonexistent. “Hey there little one, how are you?” She approached the black haired baby, her muzzle nudging its side. The creature let out a giggle and his hand quickly reached Twilight’s face, grabbing a handful of her mane and putting it into its mouth. She yelped in surprise, and then panic leaked through her voice. “W-What?! No! Please, stop!” She tried to be as careful as possible, to use her hoof to get him away, but as the seconds went on the baby’s grasp on her mane was getting stronger. Thinking quickly, she conjured a few toys that she had kept from when Spike had just hatched from his egg. The items appeared right over the baby’s head just for Twilight to put them in the bed right after. And as soon as the objects fell on the bed, the baby’s attention left her and focused on a particular toy, an stuffed raven that spike used to slept with. Without even looking at her again, the baby let her mane go and hugged the stuffed toy with his eyes closed. Letting a sigh filled with relief, her gaze moved onto the blonde baby sucking his fist. He didn’t seem to care about the toys, his eyes locked on one particular photo in her nightstand. Following his line of sight, she smiled at the picture. The one she had taken after the failed Gala a few months ago. In it she was hugging princess Celestia, who occupied almost the entire frame with her immaculate white body. The princess, in one of the few moments in which she wasn’t being regal, was smiling at the camera, her mouth stuffed with chocolate cake, and right beside her a purple pony smiled while hugging the Solar ruler. Looking back at the baby, Celestia’s student felt a smile make its way into her face. The baby seemed hypnotized by it, its saliva falling from his fist and in her bed, his big blue eyes filled with something that seemed like…longing? She then approached him, and started nuzzling his head. “Wow…you have a really nice mane…but your skin is so soft…you are simply adorable, you know that?” Her muzzle was caressing his forehead, and the baby seemed pleased with the development. She kept caressing him, but her gaze went to the other baby, who seemed completely oblivious of them. He was now sitting on the stuffed raven, while putting one of Spike’s old action figures on his mouth. Smiling, she looked back at the blond baby, only to notice that he was still looking at the photo. She moved a litte, getting comfortable in the bed, and then she started softly talking to him “Hey little buddy, are you okay? It seems like you really like her, huh? Look-“She levitated the photo, bringing it closer to him and then pointing to Celestia “That’s my mentor, she’s the princess of all of Equestria and she’s really kind and loving and wonderful and… you know what? Here” She gave the baby the photo, Its little claw was touching it and then it quickly moved to the side until it was touching Celestia’s cutie mark, the sun “Oh, you like her sun? Then you’ll love to know that she’s the one that every morning raises it up to the sky!” Her enthusiastic tone put a smile in the baby’s face, who for the first time in a while was giving her his complete attention. Soon enough he was touching her face, his soft claws were traveling through all of her face, and she just let out a chuckle. Her laugh seemed to have an effect on the baby, because he started to giggle too. The unicorn cooed at him, he was simply adorable! After a few moments, he finally stopped. And there was a peaceful silence between the two, both the mare and the unknown baby smiling. “Bwa” Twilight’s eyes got bigger at that. “You want to talk too…?” She felt so confused. The academic on her wanted to keep taking notes, but the pony side wanted to cuddle the baby forever. And it was the pony side that was winning at that moment. “Bwa” Getting her face closer to him, she watched as the baby babbled about. He started to make gestures, and a few more sounds before falling back in the bed and smile at her. She felt a brow rise. What was all of that about? Did he really try to communicate? Of course he did not, Twi. All babies, no matter the species are like this at the same point in time. A pony baby will babble too. But…babies do try to communicate though…uhg…I need my breakfast. The mare would have kept talking to herself, but then she felt a tug on her mane; looking down she saw the baby reaching into its clothes through the collar of his overall. After a few moments he finally put his claw out. And in its chubby hand there were a pair of necklaces. Huh. She thought. The blonde baby smiled just before handling the items to her. With curious eyes, Twilight inspected the objects, lifting them with her aura. One was a simple thing, the only remarkably aspect of it was the green gem that seemed to be wrapped in some kind of mystical aura, in the mare’s opinion. The second one was made of metal; the most noticeable featurette was the metal plate that had some kind of inscription, in a completely foreign language! She gasped. A new language wasn’t something to joke about. It meant that there was a civilization that they didn’t know about! And as someone who prided herself for being good at learning new things, she felt a surge of excitement travel all over her body. Eyeing the alien letters, the unicorn mare tried to find any kind of meaning to it. It truly was foreign. The soft lines, the delicate way each letter flowed into the next, in her opinion only the work of a real talented unicorn could match such wonderful calligraphy. Looking down, she noticed the baby staring at her with something akin to expectation in his face. Frowning, she looked at the plate again. Nothing changed. She let out a hump in frustration. Though she didn’t mind it, she felt how the baby’s body leaned into hers, sharing his warmness with her. And just like that, Twilight found out that…she could read it. Naruto. “What?” Now she was truly surprised. What did just happen? I’m not a mare with a talent for languages and I’ve certainly never seen anything like this… But Twilight did know a little about other languages, especially the ones for the dragons of the north, all of which had a completely different way to speech than the rest of the dragons that inhabited Equus. However, that didn’t mean that she was able to learn a completely new and foreign language on the fly. And then the question started to pop out in her head. How could she do that? Was there any meaning to it? Why did it happen? Calm down Twi. Calm down. Now, let’s recap. To begin with, even at first glance it was obvious that it isn’t like any language in Equus, at least not any that I know about. Unfortunately I’m not an expert on this matter, so whatever. But second and most important, how could I read it? I know a lot of magic, but this…doesn’t seem like magic though. What happened then? What did trigger this reaction? Her eyes went all over the room, and then to both babies, first to the black haired one, who was peacefully staring at the ceiling, and then to the blonde one, who was hugging her b... “That’s it!” She said out loud. He was the catalyst for the sudden ability to read that language. But still, how did it happen anyway? He didn’t seem to be able to talk yet, so communication through vocal means was out for sure. But what if he was able to convey ideas through contact with others? Now that was a truly breakthrough discovery if true. She could learn so much from it, maybe even write a book. However, she decided to investigate about it later, choosing to try and read the metal plate again. “Ne-roo-toe?” She regarded the baby at her side, which looked back at her with some kind of disapproval in its eyes. She then tried to read it again “Na-ru-to…Naruto! Is that your name, little one?” Her face was in front of the blonde’s who just smiled at her with happiness. Immediately he started to babble, his upper limbs doing strong motions and his face filled with joy as the sounds escaped his little mouth. She kept looking at him for a few moments, but after that her gaze moved onto the other baby. “What about you?” She then asked him. He just looked at her without blinking, his chin resting on the stuffed toy she had gave him. Sighing, Twilight used her magic to pull out another metal plate from the clothes. This one had a different inscription, and like before she just tried to read it. “Saaa…saa-soo-key?” She grimaced, her mind telling her that it wasn’t that, and the look on the baby’s face also communicating that idea “uhm…ok, I think I got it, Sasuke?” her hopeful tone was rewarded with a smile from the infant. While not as energetic as his counterpart, he too started to babble, but his incoherent ‘words’ were directed at her with a smile. He tried to get closer, but fell back in the pillows that surrounded him, the toy he held almost falling to the side if not for her magic catching it. A chuckle escaped his mouth as he lifted his head and looked at her right in the eyes. You sure are cute too. Bringing her head closer to the range of his chubby arms, she let out a coo after the baby started to caress her face; a mere moment after that, he had both of his limbs around her neck and pulled her closer to him, hugging her upper body while cuddling her face. “Haha, oh, you definitively are adorable, I’m sure fluttershy will lik-…the girls!” She quickly pulled out, the boy falling with his face on the bed, but Twilight didn’t see that, she was already looking through her window to Ponyville. “Huh, how am I going to tell them about this?” Her gaze moved from the window to the two babies again; the orange clad creature was sucking one of her old Celestia stuffed toys, on the other hoof, the infant she had been hugging a few moments ago was rolling in her bed, and was about to fall when she caught him in her magic. Letting a relieved sigh, she put him back in the soft surface. Approaching the bed and looking at them with a frown, she was trying to come with a way to tell the girls about them without either Pinkie or Dash scaring them and without word of them getting out to Ponyville. She didn’t want another Zecora situation. She looked back at both plates, and frowned. She could not read it. She tried to force the knowledge she had mere minutes ago to work again. But nothing changed. Maybe I need to be touching them for it to work? Well, let’s put that in the list of things to investigate about later. A sound caught her attention, and she noticed that the blonde boy was trying to reach to her. Lifting the baby with her magic, she brought him to her face, waiting for whatever he wanted to say. The only sound that escaped his body was that of his stomach announcing that he was hungry, and just a few moments after that his companion followed suit. Twilight let out a nervous chuckle. Running from one spot to another, Twilight was busy making breakfast, her magic working as fast as it could, her mind was filled with thoughts about how much she could write about her new little friends. “Sasuke…Naruto…” Those names had some kind of ring to them that she just liked. Humming as she moved some fried hay for herself and a few flowers, the purple mare eyed what she had prepared for them; two bowls of oats; she also had prepared a pair of feeding bottles filled with milk. That at least should satisfy them for a while. It was the only thing that she knew everypony in Equus could eat, even dragons. And neither of them had teeth yet, so it was better to give them something not so solid. Besides, it was one of the few things that she could prepare in such a short notice. She still wanted to know how in Tartarus they had arrived in her house. She also needed to figure out the way they were able to grant her the ability to read their language, if only temporary. She had been thinking of them as males, but once those names got into her head, she pretty much had a confirmation for it. Now though… But that could wait. Right now she needed to provide food for the babies and herself, so with a quick motion she turned back to the stairs that lead to her room, the food she had prepared enveloped in her magic. Trotting to her room, once entered she found the two babies lying in her floor, their attention immediately fell on her once she made her presence known. Their eyes filled with expectation, they kept looking at her until she had taken her place right in front of them. Smiling at the babies, she sat down and used her magic to draw the bowls near them, while the bottles stayed behind her back. With expectant eyes, she watched as they eyed the content in their bowls, the right claw of Naruto touching the food before smiling, with a nod to his companion, both looked at her …right before sinking their faces in the bowls, ignoring the spoons at their sides. Huh, I should have thought about that, she thought. Of course neither of them would have known how to properly eat at all; they hardly could even talk to her. Letting out a tired sigh, Twilight’s magic enveloped the bowls and floated them over their heads; both children looked at her with eyes filled with apprehension, food falling from their quivering mouths. Smiling softly, the purple pony talked to both. “I’m not going to take your food; however, I don’t think Rarity would ever forgive me if I let you two develop such ‘uncivilized’ manners-“She levitated the two spoons the brought before, sinking them in the mixture “-I guess I can’t expect from the two of you to understand everything I already know as an adult pony, so for the time being it’s on me to teach you two how to behave…and how to eat” She let out a giggle at the last part. Using the spoons to feed them, she spent the next half an hour talking to the babies, trying to explain various concepts to them, although she was certain that by the looks on their faces and their subsequent behavior after she finished with her little ‘lesson’ nothing of what she had said did stick in their heads. Shaking her head with amusement, Celestia’s student looked at her clock, it was already nine in the morning, and after taking a few minutes to prepare herself, she decided that it would be most beneficial to let the girls know about this new situation, especially Fluttershy. Although shy, the yellow Pegasus was really knowledgeable about almost any creature that existed in Equestria and she would surely aid Twilight in taking care of these babies until either they could find their parents or work out a better solution. Once she finished cleaning their faces, she started to prepare for the little journey ahead. Twilight decided that would be easier to take them inside her saddlebags than floating them with her magic. With the former she would have the advantage of carrying them at her sides and well secured, while with the later she’d have to concentrate in using her magic and watching where she went just in case there were something in the way. Floating one of her old saddlebags she cleared it from any dust it had, Twilight then looked upwards and quickly climbed the stairs to her room and a few moments after brought the two babies with her to the library. Putting them in the floor for a moment, she levitated the saddlebag and started to put it on, she was so lost in her task, that she didn’t hear the door of her house opening. Only when the voice of her always serviceable assistant reached her she snapped out of it. “Hey, Twilight? Huh, what am I exactly looking at?” The confused voice of Spike asked as the pony quickly turned to face him, a nervous look on her face before a sigh escaped her mouth. “Well, you see…” Twilight, Spike and the two babies were sitting near a bookshelf, the Equestrian and the dragon looking at the infants play with each other. Leaning against the shelf, Spike moved his gaze to his sister. “So, after you guys had a crazy party in Canterlot- To which not a single one of you invite me to-“Spike tone was somewhat bitter at that part, he then continued “-you came back to our home and it was glowing like crazy, and then you found these babies here?” he gestured to the creatures that were now wrestling much to the dragon’s amusement and the pony’s disapproval. “Yes, pretty much” She said, using her magic to separate the little pouting babies. “And what are you going to do about them?” his tone was serious, and then he grinned at her “I’d love to keep them you know? They seem adorable…and apparently the blonde one knows how to fight…” “I thought you’d be jealous to be honest” She was originally worried that he would feel like when she brought Owlowiscious, although unlike that time she wasn’t planning on keeping these babies. Letting a sigh out, the unicorn used her magic to separate both babies from each other. “Nah, I learnt something important back then and I won’t ever let those kind of feelings affect me ever again!” He exclaimed while striking a heroic pose. Chuckling at his antics, Twilight looked again at the clock, which now informed her that another hour had passed. Stretching her body, she grunted as she slowly got up. “Well, if you don’t really mind them, what do you say about coming with me to see the girls? Maybe you’ll have a chance to talk to Rarity~ “The mare giggled as her dragon friend puffed his cheeks and looked the other way “Well then, let’s go!” Hopping on her hooves, Twilight levitated the babies into her saddlebags, and with a nod to Spike, both went out of the house and in their way to find the rest of the elements of Harmony. Hopefully, everything would turn out okay. > Friendly meeting > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2 Friendly meeting Five pairs of eyes looked curiously at the little human babies, wondering from where had Twilight get those creatures. The elements of Harmony had been gathered by their purple friend and her dragon companion under the promise of meeting Twilight's newest friends; of course, each mare had a vaguely idea of what these newest friends were by looking at Twilight saddlebags, where a pair of completely unknown creatures were carried by their friend, both of them looking with big eyes at their surroundings. The first to meet the academic mare was Pinkie Pie, who immediately took notice of such creatures on her friend's possession and quickly approached, taking in every detail she could; once she was sure neither of them were scared of her, she started to play with the infants, making faces and sounds that they evidently liked, if their chuckles were of any indication. After that both mares decided to go to Rarity's Boutique, hoping to get to the seamstress before any client could take her time. Once they were in the Boutique's entrance, they were about to knock, but the door opened suddenly and a little filly quickly went past them, shouting her apologies for such an abrupt escape, Sweetie Bell ran through the streets of Ponyville, probably in search for her partners in crime. Twilight looked at Spike, who just was staring to where the filly had run to. With a smile, Twilight talked to him. "If you want to go, you can do it. I won't be mad you know. Besides, you are a kid, and kids need to have fun. Go, Pinkie here will help me, right?" She looked at Pinkie, who nodded eagerly. Spike seemed about to argue with her, but a simple stare from Twilight was enough for him to be gone in a few moments. She looked at him with a smile until the little dragon couldn’t be seen in the distance. Letting a sigh out, Twilight headed into her friend's place, immediately finding an angry Rarity who seemed to be looking for her sister, her anger immediately vanishing once she saw her friends, and her gaze fell on the two guests Twilight was carrying. Before she could even talk, Twilight spoke. "I know, I know, I promise I'll explain everything later, but for now, can you help me find the rest of the girls? Pinkie here is going to look for Rainbow, can you tell Applejack to go to my house? I'll go looking for Fluttershy, please~” The white mare only had time to nod before being carried away by Pinkie. Letting a sigh out, Twilight headed to Fluttershy's Cottage. Once she arrived there, her eyes moved to the children she was carrying. Both were looking around curiously, watching the birds and animals that inhabited the place moving around. Knocking the door, Twilight waited for a few moments until her shy friend finally appeared, and when she did, the squeak that escaped her mouth was adorable. Her attention was immediately focused on the creatures on Twilight's saddlebags, and if Twilight hadn't been holding them she was sure Fluttershy would have thrown her away. The yellow Pegasus was cooing at the babies, and the two of them looked at her curiously. The yellow mare started to throw all type of questions to Twilight, who at the end told her that if she wanted to know, she would have to go with her back to the library. Nodding excitedly, the shy mare flew behind Twilight, playing with the babies while the other mare just rolled her eyes. When her tree appeared in her line of sight Twilight could see that the rest of her friends were there; so when she arrived at the door and all of them kept looking at the babies, Twilight let out a nervous giggle and asked them to go inside. And with that, the Elements of Harmony had officially met the Sun and the Moon. “These‘re the strangest looking critters ah’ve ever seen, Twi…” Applejack face was on Sasuke’s belly, the little boy laughing softly. The orange mare smiled sweetly at the boy, then she moved away and faced Twilight “And ya say that they just appeared in yer house?” The purple mare nodded with a reflective look on her eyes. Her gaze then moved to the blonde child in front of Rarity. “Oh, aren’t you a little charmer? You are a little baby full of charm! Yes you are!” Rarity was using her magic to caress Naruto’s body, who was smiling at her lovingly. Twilight looked back at Applejack and finally answered her. “I honestly don’t really know how they arrived here, and that frightens me. A certain part of me wants to know how did this all happen, but the rest of me wants to take care of them until they don’t need me anymore…it’s strange. And being honest, I haven’t ever felt like this, you know?” Applejack nodded, letting Fluttershy take Naruto with her. The yellow Pegasus took Naruto by the collar of his overall and flew to the couch where a few toys were lying. Facing her orange friend again, Twilight opened herself. “I’m afraid of this whole thing, Applejack. I’ve known these creatures for only a day, and I feel as if I ever lost them I’d die…what’s going on?” Her voice was filled with worry. The apple mare didn’t really know what to say in such a situation. It wasn’t as if babies from a different species fell from the sky every other day. No, she didn’t know what to say about her friend’s situation, but she decided to be honest. “Look, Twi…Ya ‘re afraid, and I understand that. Ah can’t say Ah know what’s goin’ on, but Ah can assure ya that we, the girls and me, will be with ya in every step of the way. Whatever ya need, just stomp my door and ah’ll be there for you…” Twilight looked completely moved from her friend words, and immediately hugged her with such strength that even the apple mare was surprised. “…Thank you…” She whispered. The orange earth pony just hugged her back, before breaking the contact to look around. “Where’s Pinkie?” She was truly curious, since the pink mare seemed smitten with the boys. And right after she said that, the voice of the hyperactive mare came from outside. “Guuuuurlsssss!” Her squeaky voice was high enough to make the whole library tremble “I’ve brought some food~” Looking back at Applejack, Twilight smiled a little and headed outside, where the party pony was standing surrounded by a few carts filled with sweets and cakes. The element of laughter was shaking with uncontained excitement. Her mane seemed even puffier than before, and the smile on her face was a little too big for Twilight’s taste. “Hey Pinkie, you brought…a lot of food” Twilight didn’t exactly know what to say, so she sputtered the first thing that crossed her mind. “Of co-ur-se! Babies need to eat ya know?” Her face suddenly was in front of Twilight’s” Help me a little here, please?” She said motioning to the carts. “O-Okay, thanks Pinkie, for all of this” The purple mare was being truly honest with her friend. Pinkie only nodded happily before getting inside the tree. With a smile, Twilight floated everything Pinkie had brought, and headed inside. There she found Rarity kissing the top of Naruto's head; the boy had closed his eyes, and was smiling softly. Celestia's student could only smile at the sight. Looking for the rest of her friends, she saw both of her pegasi friends playing with Sasuke. She then cleared her throat, catching her friends' attention. "Do any of you want to eat? Pinkie here brought a lot of food “she said motioning to the element of laughter, who only waved to the other elements with a wide smile "Then we could...huh...play a game?" Her suggestion was received with energetic nods from both Rainbow and Pinkie, and the calm agreements of her remaining friends. "Then come, it's time to eat..." Canterlot, Equestria Royal Castle To say that Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria and master of the sun was having a good day, would be an understatement. Last night, she suddenly felt a pang of pain drilling her head, and as she sensed a completely foreign power extend its tendrils through the entire world, and her kingdom, her entire brain was shot down and the next thing she knew was that her sister had arrived at one point in the night and had been worriedly trying to wake her up. The moment her mind finally started to work properly, the ivory mare was aware of the flows of energy that now were circulating through the entire place overflowing it with power. She could feel it in the air itself, the very ground where her castle had been built was buzzing with energy. It was wild, ever so changing and moving from one place to another. But to Celestia, the most frightening thing was that it felt alive. The entire world felt alive, and not in the same way as before. The ponies, the dragons, the changelings and every creature in Equus were what make the planet feel alive in the past, but now, it was the world itself that riffed with life. And that made Celestia uneasy, because she didn't know that to make out of it. The very idea of some kind of foreign energy could fill the waters and air that kept the inhabitants of the planet alive worried her deeply. And once her sister told what had happened while she was unconscious only served to increase the worries in her mind. Right now, she was walking back and forth in front of her throne, where her sister was recovering her breath after she had coming so fast to inform her about the recent events. Putting a hoof on her forehead, she just let a sigh out. “And you say that this power was seemingly coming from everywhere?” Her serious tone was enough to even put the bravest of stallions to sweat, but her little sister was no stallion, and her own tone was an exact replica of that of her older sister. "Yes, sister. Never in my entire life have I ever feel so...little, so insignificant. To be in front of such colossal power...I'm glad that apparently none of our little ponies could feel it, otherwise I fear they could have been drove to madness. And what's even more worrying is that it was powerful enough to knock you down, for hours if what you had told me is true...." The princess of the night closed her eyes and hung her head down Her sister closed her own eyes, a tired sigh escaping her mouth. "I find myself without any kind of insight on what is going on. But if my experience with magic, with magic in this scale, is of any indication, then our first move must be to find from where this power came from, and the moment we figure that out, we'll be able to find more clues leading us to the truth." The white Alicorn walked to one of her stained glass, which depicted the elements of harmony, led by her faithful student, defeating her sister's worst enemy, Nightmare Moon. Her gaze then moved to other, in which, again, her student along with the rest of the elements were show dealing with Discord, the chaos incarnate. "Somehow, I have this feeling that Twilight will soon know about this, and the moment she involves herself in, she'll figure out what is happening..." The solar diarch said with a smile, one that quickly faded away when she looked at her sister's eyes "However, this does not mean that we will be at the sidelines waiting for the elements to solve this problem, we have to act, and quickly. We'll need to contact the rest of the races in Equus, and inform them about this, although I'm sure that some of them already know of about this fine mess we're in..." Luna, eyes filled with determination, stood up, walking down until her face was in front of her sister's. "We need to mobilize our forces, of course we'll have to be quiet about it, and we don't want to alarm our ponies. I'll gather a scouts group to start looking for the epicenter of this..." Her eyes moved onto her sister's sun, its light bathing the entire city, then she looked at her sister with tired eyes "However, I find myself really tired at this moment, would you mind if I take some rest for a few hours, Celestia?" The white mare smiled kindly to her sister, nodding to the dark Alicorn. "Of course I would not mind, sister. Please, go to rest. I'll gather your scouting group, I imagine that you want to lead this investigation, do you not? You always were the adventurous one..." Giggled the white Alicorn. Blushing ever so slightly, Luna hung her head down. Right before heading for the gates in the Throne room. "Ugh...I really love you, Sister..." The last thing she heard were her sister's chuckles, which echoed through the entire room. Once Luna was gone, Celestia let out a few more laughs, and after a moment she looked at the stained glass in which her student defeated Nightmare Moon. "I wonder, which kind of entity can release such power, to alter the world in this way...it must be a formidable being..." Golden Oaks Library, Ponyville Afternoon Twilight Sparkle's eyes were big and her mane looked completely messy; she was panting, her eyes looking right at the scene in front of her. Rainbow Dash, element of Loyalty was carrying little Naruto through the air, holding him from the hoodie of his overall. The small human could only laugh at the situation; his mind didn't even register the danger of him hanging like that in the air. Right now, the only thing in his mind was how pretty the blue flying dog looked. On the other side of the house Pinkie was carrying sasuke in her back. Without anything for him to hold onto. Of course, unlike Rainbow she was just walking through the room, the little black haired baby kissing her mane and hugging her from the back. "Pinkie Pie! Rainbow Dash! You two will stop this right at this moment! You'll hurt them…hugh, stop!" Twilight shouted, her eyes starting to get watery. Rainbow just let a few giggles through her teeth before descending to the floor and carefully putting Naruto back on Twilight's reach. After that, Pinkie sat down on the floor, her barrel against the wood surface, and then Sasuke got off her back; once both children were safely in the ground Twilight snatched them with her magic, bringing them closer to her face and then started to caress them. Rainbow looked at her friend for a few moments before talking. "Hey Twi, are you okay? You seem to be...really sensitive about this whole thing..." She approached the purple unicorn, hugging her with one of her wings” "I…oh my Celestia…I…" She put a hoof on her head. She didn't really know what was going on. Like she had told Applejack before, she didn't know what was actually happening in her head, but if something was completely obvious it was that whatever effect that light that had surrounded the children had on her, the most obvious was her sudden need to be near them, and for them to be safe. She walked away from Rainbow, who was right behind her, looking back, the Pegasus mare could see her pink friend stuffing her mouth with chocolate cake and resting in the floor. Twilight put both babies in the ground and then sat next to them. Both were trying to climb her body, which caused the mare to let out a few laughs. "I talked to Applejack. I told her about this sudden need of...of protecting them, of being sure they are safe and that nothing bad happens. I've never, ever, felt like this before Rainbow. Are these feelings artificial? Is this some kind of spell?" Her voice cracked a little at the end"I don't want it to be like that...just thinking about it makes my heart feel so heavy...But if it is true and nothing is real, then what does this mean for me? And what about them? I..." She couldn't even finish, tears falling from her face. When she felt a tiny hand touching her snout she smiled softly at Sasuke. Rainbow kept looking at Twilight for a few moments, and then smiled at her friend. "Well, you'll be glad to know that what you feel isn't false. I've seen these past few hours how you look at them. The way you smile when they laugh, and the way they look at you when you are in front of them...it's really cool ya know?" The blue pegasus smiled "You're like a...like a goddess to them, there's no way for you or them, to be faking this. Maybe something did happen to you that made you feel protective about them, but everything I've seen here so far is really genuine" She then moved her eyes to the children "Besides, you can make those feeling genuine, the more time you spend with them the more natural it'll be. Anyways...whatever you do, I'll be there egghead..." The purple mare's eyes were big and red, her mouth agape and she could only stare at her energetic friend after such words. Without saying anything Twilight hugged Rainbow tightly and let out a few whimpers before using her magic to wipe out her tears. Rainbow beamed at her friend. "See? I can too be of help when I want. This should teach Rarity that I'm not some uncivilized troglodyte..." She only mumbled the last part looking at the floor. Then she looked at Twilight. "Well, now that you feel better, why don't we...ugh, what's that smell?" Twilight also noticed what Rainbow was talking about, and her gaze fell on the two babies that were looking at her with expectant eyes. She smiled with humor as her friend gagged. "Well, this was bound to happen; after all, you two did eat a lot of ice-cream ...c'mon, I'm gonna bathe you two..." She levitated the both of them "I'll have to ask Rarity for some new clothes though...shut up Rainbow, this is normal for babies..." As she headed to her room, Twilight couldn’t help but smile. A few hours had passed since the girls and the babies had been playing. Right now, her friends were preparing the children to give them a bath, Twilight wanted to get them clean after having changed their diapers (From where did they get them, though?). Rarity had already taken on herself to make them some new clothes, even before the purple mare had the chance to ask her. And Twilight was glad for that, she didn't know where she could get any kind of clothes that would fit them. The mare was currently looking for some towels in her room, and after a few moments she finally found them. Smiling to herself she headed to the bathroom. She was thinking about how the children would look once they developed completely, and to her it was such an exciting subject! Would they be like dragons, who took so much time? Or more like ponies? Could they even grow at all? She kept thinking and thinking, new ideas forming every second in her mind. She didn't notice it, but she was already back in the bathroom. Trying to get her head back to the matter at hand, Twilight didn’t notice all of her friend giving her their backs. Suddenly, Fluttershy's voice caught her attention. Her friend's tone filled with worry. "Uhm...Twilight? Did you see this? I don't think this is normal..." Once the purple mare looked back to her friend, she could see that the rest of the elements were gathered around the babies, worried looks on their faces. Frowning slightly, she approached them. "What do you mean, Fluttershy?" Once she was next to the Pegasus, she looked at the shy mare in the eyes "If you mean their lack of fur, I think that's normal for...oh..." Her gaze finally fell on what had caught her friends' attention. Both babies were lying on the bathtub, and while yes, neither of them had fur, what actually had surprised them were their limbs. Naruto's right arm and Sasuke's left arm were completely different from the rest of their bodies. If Twilight had been worried about Sasuke being pale before, now that she was able see their arms she was truly worried. Their limbs were of a chalk white tone, and all along their arms there were strange black rods sticking out of the skin, as if they had been pierced. Somepony had pierced babies. Twilight could feel herself gritting her teeth furiously. And once she looked around she could see that her friends had reached the same conclusion. Every mare there was frowning, and in the case of both unicorns they were red, their faces filled with indignation for one, and fury for the other. However, neither of the babies seemed to care about it, in fact, both of them kept playing in the water. Their chubby forms floating in the water-filled tub. For a long while no mare there spoke a word. The only sound in the room was that of both babies playing with each other. But eventually, Rarity was the first one to talk out of the six mares there. "Who would do something so...so...so savage to a baby?!" Her tone was a reflection of her face, pure indignation. Her stance screamed of indignation, mixed with anger and the little sparks of resentment. Neither of the other mares said anything, they just kept staring with worried eyes at the laughing babies in the bathtub. Twilight felt a single tear fell from her eye. Las Pegasus, Equestria Las Pegasus’s Desert The heat of the sun hammering down on the sands of the desert was simply unbearable. For most creatures, it would be downright a suicide to go out to the dessert for a walk, but Ditto wasn’t like most creatures; she was a Changeling, a proud member of the race of shapeshifter insect-like ponies. However, she was feeling the heat, for some reason the last two days had been truly hot for some reason. She wondered if Celestia had something to do with it. Of course she does, doh, she is the goddess of the sun. She kept mussing on her thoughts for a few moments, before gazing up to the blue sky, and then to the almost infinite sea of sand; letting out a sigh, she kept walking, changing directions a few times so she could reach the path that lead to her hive’s outpost near Las Pegasus. Her mother and leader, Queen Monarch, had sent her to the ponies’ city to gather information and look for potential sources of love. Right now she was going back to give her report to her mother, hoping to get some kind of appraisal, which honestly wasn’t really hard, since her Queen was a really kind creature. She was so distracted by her thoughts about her home and ruler that she didn’t notice the strange form emerging from the sands. She didn’t notice it until a ball made of that material hit her right in the snout. Falling to the side, she coughed some sand, hopping quickly to her hooves, she shook her head. And just like that, a second sand ball almost hit her in the face again. “What?!” Her head immediately moved to look for her attacker, which she quickly found, since it shouldn’t be difficult for anyone to notice…whatever the hay that thing was. The first thing she noted was that it seemed to be covered completely in sand, purple markings going through its body as if it were veins. And it was huge. Easily three times her size. Its body was built like bear. A bear fused with a dog and sand. And it also… It was laughing. Loudly. Her brow furrowed when she noticed that, and she started to approach it, her face red with embarrassment, fury and the heat of the sun. “Who in the hay do you think you are, huh?” She stomped a hoof in the ground, exhaling violently from her snout “If you think you can come out of nowhere and-“ “Shut yer little mouth ye bug” It didn’t even moved its mouth, but the voice was clearly from the creature in front of her. How was that possible? “Ya remind me of some of those green slimy insects I once met, ya know? Always bugging around…get it? Bugging around? And you are a bug! Hahaha!” Her jaw was wide open, mostly because of the shock of it interrupting her that way than for it talking. Her right eye was twitching with annoyance; the big bear like creature hadn’t stopped laughing. Looking around to see if there was anyone near, she was glad to see that she still was alone in the desert, well, not alone really. Although she knew nopony would be out with such heat, even less in the middle of the dessert. After a few moments spent to prepare herself, she was ready to give it a piece of her mind. “Hear me here, you little-“ “Nah, I’m bored, bye” And just by saying that, It simply gave her its back, and started to walk to the east, to the direction from where she had come, and a few moments later, its entire body blended with the sand, disappearing completely. “Wha…what?!” She shouted, a scowl in her face “If I ever see you again…ugh, damn equestrians, always so annoying…whenever it seems like I’ve seen anything they have to show, they just magically conjure some new thing…” Her mumbling was filled with annoyance. She kept looking to the direction in which the unknown creature had go for a while, but then she just sighed and kicked the sand under one of her hooves. “…whatever.” With that, she resumed her walk to the hive, planning on telling her mother about this new development. It surely wouldn’t hurt to know about possible new targets for her hive to plan around. Vanhoover, Equestria Vanhoover’s coast Cloud eleven was soaring through the sky happily, her cobalt blue fur and mane drifted along with the wind flow. The smile in her face was enough to know that she had had a good day. Cloud was slowly descending to the beach below her, planning on enjoying the waves of the blue sea, the movements of the water always filling her heart with joy; once her hooves touched the sand, she let a sigh out and a goofy smile took over her face. With great satisfaction, she sat down in one of the many rocks around the place; her eyes fell over the ever moving sea, and like many other times, her attention was completely focused in the waves. Of course, such attention was what made her notice when something came out of the water. And it didn’t seem like a something, it seemed more like a somepony. She let out a gasp, the strange looking creature a few dozens of meters away of her was looking around; she couldn’t help but stare, she had never seen a creature with such featurettes. At its basic, the unknown being was like a pony. But bigger. Way bigger. It had a white fur, and a mane of the same color. Most of its body was like that of a pony, but where the normally expressive face of a pony should be, there was a strange looking head. It vaguely seemed equine like, but barely. It reminded her of…a fish…a dolphin! It had the head of a dolphin, if you really added some featurettes on it, that is. Around its neck were some gills. Coming out from its head there were 2 horns. The last thing she noticed were the 3 tails swinging back and forth behind the creature. If Cloud had to be honest, it was a truly beautiful creature, its pristine white mane flowed with the wind, and the water drops from its fur made its body look as if it was made of crystal. The gills on its neck were constantly contracting and expanding, a weird thing to behold, if she had to be honest, since she never saw any marine creature doing that out of water. The strange pony looking fish-thingy moved its gaze to the mountains on the south, from where she had come, and subsequently the dolphin-pony saw her. She became still, her eyes as big as plates, sweat started to fall from her forehead as she locked eyes with the creature's eyes Pretty green eyes. Its head was tilted to the side, those green eyes looking at her with curiosity, and Cloud felt her jaw fall when the creature gave her a toothy smile. A smile filled with razor like teeth. Teeth from a carnivorous, she thought. Smiling back to it nervously, she slowly unfurled her wings, starting to get back before it could even get close to her. But of course, fate was cruel and in just a blink, the creature was suddenly in front of her face. Cloud let out a scream filled with fear, and fell on her butt. The dolphin-thingy tilted its head again, before giving a wide smile and lick Cloud’s head, and right after that, she could see the creature running right into the forest that would lead to the mountains, its powerful legs making it seem as if it was just a blur. Cloud Eleven could only stare at the path the creature had taken, a simple thought in her head. What. > Twilight's not so little problem-Part 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight's not so little problem Part 1 In the middle of the night, there was a single home in the entirety of Ponyville that had its lights up. It certainly was an odd sight, since the tree house that was home to the librarian of the town usually had all of its light off by midnight. Of course, no one really knew what was going on inside the old tree, except for the owner of it. And as of now, she wasn't really interested on what others would be thinking of her home. In front of her bed, Twilight's tired eyes were looking at the two crying babies in front of her, their cries being contained inside the house thanks to a handy spell she found, otherwise she would have a lot of annoyed neighbors in her door at that very moment. Sighing, the purple mare tried to think of another think to calm both infants. However, nothing came to her head, since she had pretty much tried everything she knew or could find in a book. She tried to give them milk, to sing to them, to change their diapers, to feed them, to play with them, and a whole array of things. But nothing did really work, and as the minutes passed and the moon on the sky moved more and more, she could feel the fatigue slowly taking over her body. To be honest, taking care of babies wasn't as easy as she had thought at first. I was really dumb, wasn't I? Her gaze moved slowly to the ticking clock in the wall, and the unicorn felt her shoulders fall in resignation; in the end it seemed like she would have to call either Pinkie or Fluttershy after all. And that was one thing she didn't want, to bother her friends, and show that she wasn't ready to take such undertaking. It wasn't a matter of pride, it was that she felt the need to take care of things herself rather than let others do it. She didn't know why, but it was like that. Whatever was that affected my mind; I hope it won't last at all... It was the third day on her new role of caretaker, and by far the worst. The other two days she had already encountered some problems, but she kind of went through them with some difficulty. This, however, wasn't something she could force herself through. It was obvious the babies needed something, but she just didn't know what. Sighing again, the mare approached sasuke, and with a soft tug, she moved Sasuke's arms to the side, and leaned on his belly, resting her head near his chest. Her big eyes were looking at him, his soft whimpers practically scratching her heart. "What is happening to you, Sas?" Her sweet voice seemed to finally have some kind of effect on him with her being so close now. He of course didn't answer her, but she still kept staring at him. For a while, she was silent, her hears catching the sound of both babies' cries. Her eyes were admiring the creature in front of her, but not with any kind of academic purpose, but rather a genuine appreciation. Looking at his chubby face she noticed how his featurettes however infantile they might be, had some kind of exotic beauty to them. It wasn't the beauty of a cute newborn only, but she recognized some kind of design on his face. The way his eyes were located in relation to his nose or how his little mouth fit in his face in a perfect way. Letting some air escape her nostrils, she then moved her gaze to his black hair, and how his bangs covered the side of his head and face. As her attention moved back to his face, and consequently to his cries, she couldn't help but coo at him, and with just that, one of her hooves moved upward, slowly caressing his little face. "Don't you worry, Sasuke. I'll be here for you. I can't know for sure what is happening to you, but I won't leave you..." Her hoof moved to his forehead "I promise" And then she poked him there. And just like that, he stopped crying. Not completely at once, but his whimpers slowly lowered until they simply vanished. She looked dumbfounded at him, his black eyes locked on hers, and he kept staring at the mare for a few moments, before blinking a few times, and then his eyes closed, completely ignoring his crying companion. The unicorn just sighed at the black haired baby, and then her gaze moved onto the blond one. Surprisingly enough, Naruto wasn't the louder of the two. Moving ever so slowly in the bed, she approached the whiskered baby and nudged his belly with her snout. His cries stopped for a few moments, before coming back a little louder. Unlike with Sasuke, she decided to get comfortable herself first, and once that was done, she used her magic to move Naruto right next to her belly. His head was resting on her left foreleg, and for the first time in a while his cries lowered a bit. She nudged his head softly with her muzzle, humming an old song to him. The blond baby seemed to want as much of her warm as he could get, his little claws were hugging her with some strength. Cuddling with him, she felt how the baby tried to suck her mane, and she could only chuckle at that. Putting her chin on the baby's head, she talked to him. About everything, her friends, her books, her family. But the things that seemed to grasp his attention the most were the bonds she had make with everypony she had meet. Talking about the way she related to her friends seemed to calm him, and so she kept talking. After a while, she felt the little baby finally asleep, and with a flick of her magic, she brought Sasuke right beside his brother. Looking back at the other side of the room, the mare raised a brow. Spike was still deep in sleep, as if he hadn't heard anything about the babies. Wow, she thought. He sure likes to sleep. I can't fault him though; he has been taking care of them as much as me. He deserves it... As do I. With a smile on her face, the mare slowly let herself be grabbed by the dreams, and just like that she went to Luna's dominion. Two weeks later, Canterlot Royal chambers "You should calm yourself, sister" Celestia's calm voice boomed through the place. Luna's pacing through the room only got quicker, with black mare frowning deeply. Thankfully, after a few moments to collect herself, the Alicorn let out a sigh and looked at her sister. "You know I can't Celestia. I haven't been able to find any kind of trace to the source of this madness. For two weeks more than a hundred of scouts had been looking for any clue through all of the northern zone of Equestria, and yet there's nothing the unicorns can do to find the origin of this problem..." She closed her eyes for a few moments, and then she continued "Everypony is starting to feel the changes, Tia. Multiple reports about groups of Pegasi and earth ponies asking unicorns if they feel anything different in the surroundings..." Celestia could only nod at that. And it was true, entire portions of the population started to notice something was off, the Pegasi could feel that the air was different when carrying out their duties, and the same could be said about the earth ponies, all of which were worried about the very land feeling strange. Thankfully, mass panic had no ensued yet, but they needed to find a solution, and fast. The changes, however little they may seem, were already showing. Some trees started to grow way faster than before and strong too. So strong in fact, that a few earth ponies had reported having problems cutting them down, which was a real oddity. The water felt different too, she had to admit. Not in a bad way, since apparently a lot of ponies were reporting feeling inexplicably exuberant and with a lot of energy. We don't know if it'd have some kind of lasting consequence though... But the most important thing to come with the recent global event was one that really bothered both Luna and herself. "Have you been able to...?” She didn't finish the sentence; the sour look on her sister's face was enough to stop the sun ruler. Huffing, Luna just shook her head. "No, I'm still having problems trying to find any of these new creatures that seem to appear whenever we are not looking for them..." Luna clicked her tongue "Whatever they are, it's obvious that they are related with this event, be it by being a byproduct of it, or the ones who caused it. Either way, I'd like to meet at least one; if only they didn't run each time my troops and I are close. It's not like I'm planning on killing them..." She just mumbled the last part, to which Celestia just smiled. "I'm not really surprised, didn't you go around screaming that you were going to trap them at the first chance you had? ’Thou dare to hide from me?! I, Princess Luna, shalt find and bring thee all with me!' That sure does not sound alluring at all" The white mare laughed, while her sister's face changed to a deep red while her ears pressed against her head. "T-that's not the point! I just want to talk to them, to know if they have anything to do with this less than desirable situation we all are in. *cough* Thankfully, some of the ponies that have interacted with them were able to give us some interesting bits of information regarding their behavior and their appearances..." Using her magic to levitate a folder that was laying in the nearest table, Luna opened it and showed her sister its contents. Celestia raised a brow. The pictures her sister was showing her were certainly interesting. In them there were illustrations of completely unknown creatures. There were a total of three pictures, highly detailed drawings that were probably made with all of the details they had received over the past week. The first one showed a massive creature, by pony standards that towered over the pony in the picture to show the scale. It was physically similar to a bear, but his head seemed to be more akin to that of a dog, though its jaw was certainly something else. Its sandy fur was covered with some strange markings that travelled through the entire body. But what was probably its most striking featurette was its massive tail that seemed to be at least twice the size of its torso. Reading the text at the bottom of the picture, she couldn't help but chuckle. "Highly friendly, although caution is recommended, as the creature seems to like to smash the structures around it randomly. As of now, it has showed strength comparable to that of a healthy earth pony, but upper limits are unknown. Recent encounters indicate that it is a highly sociable creature, if a little bit violent..." Celestia read a little more of the description about the being, letting out a few laughs at some of the encounters and their outcomes. In one of them, the creature stole the contents of a jewel store, specifically all of the necklaces and rings made of gold, only to latter throw them back to the store...with enough force to break through the walls, though surprisingly enough the items weren't damaged. Nodding to herself, the white mare picked other illustration. In this one there was a creature akin to a pony, but its size was more in line with Celestia herself. Of course, there were glaring differences with a normal pony or even herself. To begin with, its head wasn't that of a equine. Looking at the reference pictures at the side, the being seemed like a mix between a pony and a dolphin, On its back there were two tails, both of which were at least as long as the torso of the creature. On its head there were a total of four horns protruding out of the skull. Going by the reports, this one creature seemed to be operating on the coast, and most of the sighting of it described the creature as friendly, if not a bit more reserved than the sand beast. The majority of the ponies that saw it seemed to think that the pony-like being was looking for something, always following some kind of pattern that was completely unknown to all ponies. "As of now, the being called Dolphny-" she let out a laugh at that, while Luna scoffed at her "-is reportedly amicable to contact with ponies, however most of the time the creature prefers to run away to the coast and submerge itself in the water. Only one incident reported..." Celestia eyes got big at what she was reading. "...during an storm caused by unknown forces that no Pegasi could stop, the 'Dolphny' used some kind of magic to stop a tidal wave big enough to drown a good part of Las Pegasu-...H-how did no one told me about this?!" Celestia's neck almost did a cracking sound when she looked up at her sister. "I didn't know either sister, but by the looks of it, this event happened only two days ago. And the notary needed some time to collect herself and prepare this report. By the looks of it, she didn't want to let anything important out." The white Alicorn let out a tired sigh, and looked down at the papers floating with her magic. "Do we know how this creature did such an undertaking? That accomplishment was nothing short of massive. If what says here is true, that wave was, at least, 300 feet tall. To block such a thing you would need a team of highly specialized unicorns, and maybe a second team only to make sure that the city doesn’t feel the impact of such thing." Shaking her head, Luna walked toward her sister, taking a sit in her own throne. "No, we don't. The few ponies that were there to witness it, said that the creature was glowing, and that for a moment, it grew as big as a house, and it suddenly used its tails to lash out at the sea. And just like that, not only the wave was pushed back, but the sky cleared too..." Luna's gaze went up to the ceiling, resting there for a few seconds while her sister was absorbing the news. "It's a worrying situation, this in which we find ourselves, sister. The pegasi weren't able to stop neither the storm nor the raging sea. In their own words, it felt as if the storm was alive, and it just wouldn't obey them. Every time they got near, the winds pushed them back, and they eventually had to get back, or they would have been injured. The effects of the energy are starting to show, and if this continues, who knows how violent it will get?" The black mare's voice was filled with worry, and her sister could only look at her. "You don't want to...you don't want this, your new life, to disappear, am I right?" At Celestia's words, Luna's ears twitched and fell against her head, while she nodded "I understand it, sister. You have finally found your place, and this new development is threatening that. But most importantly, you don't want our little ponies to be in harm's way" "Yes. I'd hate for them to be harmed. Now that my mind has been clear for months, I see what I couldn't before. I appreciate the gift of the night, because I know understand the importance of it. Your student and her friends, they showed me, they showed me how it feels to be accepted..." "Oh, yes. Twilight and her little band of mares have that ability. To show you completely new things, to teach you about yourself. They are good young mares. One day, they will show the entire world their power, not that of magic, but of friendship..." Celestia closed her eyes, a little smile on her face as she thought about her student. "And how's she doing? I haven't been able to go to her dreams for a while, and the other day I hear you complaining about the lack of...how did you say? 'Friendship reports'? Really, Tia?" Luna's smirk only grew bigger as her sister's face got to a scarlet tone. "Well, so just you know, she sent me a report three days ago. Apparently, she has been...hmn, busy. We are not the only ones who have suddenly found ourselves with a lot in our hooves. After the incident two weeks ago, Twilight says that she found a pair of babies in her house" Luna only rose a brow “With the descriptions she has given me, they don't really sound like anything I have ever heard of. Other than slightly resemble apes, they seem to be a completely new species. As per Twilight's description, they are, and I quote "The cutest thing you will ever see, Princess". And well, she seems to have taken a liking to them, if they way she talks about these babies is any indication..." Luna only nodded, and before talking again, she squint her eyes. "Don't you think that it is a little suspicious that those babies appeared to Twilight right after the event? Something is a little suspicious here, sister" At that, Celestia could only agree. "I think as you, sister. Their sudden appearance aligns with that of the beasts and the energy flowing in the world. It just seem all too strange to me" "We need to see them, sister, if nothing else, to make sure this energy is not affecting them" "Yes, I agree with you. And I think the perfect moment is coming, don't you agree, Luna?" At that, the black mare only looked in confusion at her counterpart. Using her magic to float a letter in one of the near tables, Celestia give her sister the glowing item. As she started to read it, a smile slowly made way into her face, and once she was finished, the black mare looked at her sister with understanding. "Our niece's wedding in near, and young Twilight will surely want to meet her brother after all these years, if what you told me about their relationship is true. Besides, such an event will be useful to ease our subject’s worries about all these changes, at least for us to keep trying to find a solution to this..." Celestia only nodded, seeing the value of her sister's idea. She was still recovering from what the event had done to her, and as such she was unable to use her magic to anything but her duty as the sun guardian. While she was getting better, she still couldn't risk using more magic than necessary, so helping her subjects in the search for the truth was out of the equation. And Luna, without Celestia's help, was unable to cast a spell big enough to cover the whole world to search for any kind of singularity regarding the strange magic. Keeping the population in the dark wasn't something Celestia liked, she felt that all of her little ponies deserved to know the truth, but at the same time, she had been taking care of them for enough time to know that they would not take well the news. So for now, she would hide the truth, though to be honest the white mare was hoping to find out what was going on soon. And I'm sure Twilight and her friends will help us with this. "Cadance is doing us a favor by holding her wedding in Canterlot. We have to make sure to make it as big as possible. Our ponies really need this. And I guess we can make the best out of this...I have a few ideas, but that's for later. As for now, I need you to keep looking for anything about those creatures; but please, don't overdo it, can you, Luna? You haven't been resting enough after each scouting. You are taking a bit more time to raise you moon, sister. I have noticed..." Shaking her head, the black mare smiled meekly. "I shall do as you say, sister. Right now, I'll go to bed. Tomorrow we can talk about this after I come back from the search...I love you, Tia, I promise everything will be fine, I'm sure of it" Both mares hugged each other, rubbing each other's faces. A few moments passed before the dark Alicorn decided that it was time to go. Giving her sister a kiss in her cheek, the younger mare walked away. Breathing slowly, Celestia smiled to where her sister was a moment ago. Letting a sigh out, the mare moved her gaze to the shining sun in the sky, and wished for everything to go back to what it was before. Queen Monarch's Hive Brood room The queen of the changelings' hive near Las Pegasus was an imposing figure. In comparison to the rest of her hive, she was thrice their size. All of her children just came to her elbows, so she would always be able to look them down whenever she wanted to scold them. The queen was a black mare with a greenish yellow mane. Unlike many other hives in Equus, she made sure that her hive was always well fed, so there was nopony with holes in their bodies within her domains. Her horn was similar to that of a unicorn, but longer and with a more pronounced end. Her eyes were a bright Blue that sometimes changed to green. Right now, Monarch was looking at the newest members of her hive. Thankfully, her children had been able to snatch enough equestrians to fulfill the hive for a few months. But she knew that it was a matter of time before they would need new victims again. Her gaze moved to the ones that were still inside their eggs, and she knew that those were the ones that would become part of her warrior caste. And for a single moment, her eyes moved onto a batch of eggs that were pulsating with energy, and she just got a reflective look on her eyes. After a few moments, she moved her gaze to where the larvae were lying, their peaceful forms sleeping without any care on the world. That brought a smile to her face. Nodding to herself, the queen was about to exit the room but was stopped when one of her scouts suddenly appeared before her, kneeling down and with her head touching the ground. Smiling to herself, the queen recognized the changeling as one of her eldest daughters, Ditto. "There's no need to do that my child, please, stand" She used her motherly tone to convince her daughter, who only nodded sheepishly "Now, what brings you to our lovely home, my dear? Your last report was only a few weeks ago, when you informed me about that peculiar creature you faced. So, did you find a suitable being to harvest for out hive?" The little changeling looked at her mother and queen in the eyes, and nodded, a serious look on her eyes. "Actually yes, my queen. I've found a subject to fulfill the purpose, but even better, I've found a group of ponies that will be able to feed us for months! And with the help of the others scouts we could get enough sustenance for even a year! "The scout was buzzing with excitement, her body seemed as if she wanted to jump and celebrate. The queen let a pleased hum, her eyes closed and a smile slowly creeping to her face. This was a most pleasant surprise, she admitted. She wondered how did her daughter find such promising targets, if what she said was true. "This is definitively good to hear, Ditto. How did you end up finding such treasure though? Last time it took you at least two months to find any suitable target...what did change?" The Matriarch's tone was "Not much, to be honest. While I was looking for new ponies I eventually encountered a group that simply leaked love. A group of friends it seems, a total of seven ponies, with two of them being couples. I came back to ask for some help to seduce them, your grace. Two of the remaining three are stallions; the other is a young mare. I believe that with the help of two of my sisters I'll be able to bring them here" With that the little changeling mare looked up to her mother. Humming to herself, the bigger mare moved a bit on where she was standing. She closed her eyes in thought, and to her daughter it seemed as if she suddenly was made of stone. Ditto's gaze was on her mother and queen, and she couldn't help but think about how powerful and regal she looked. It probably had a lot to do with the fact that Queen Monarch had make sure that the entirety of her hive would never feel hungry. The Queen never seemed to be pleased by the way the had to feed themselves, which led to her being the one that ended the lives of all of the creatures they brought when they finally couldn't give energy anymore. In her own words, it was her own way to pay them respect. And after seeing how other hives treated their captives, Ditto was proud of being part of her family. But after witnessing the state of Chrysalis' hive she was truly surprised to see how malnourished they were. They had holes everywhere, as if they haven't been eating anything for months. Which seemed wrong, since they were one of the hives that took the most hostages. Ditto was so lost in her own mind that she didn't notice Monarch moving behind her, which led to the changeling jumping away when her mother touched her side. "You shall take both Budd and Mantis with you, I'm sure this will give them some experience..." Nodding to her mother Ditto was about to walk away from the brood room when her Queen talked again "Tell me, daughter. Have you encountered any creature that isn't a pony again? I've received a few reports talking about sightings in other cities. Some hives feel that there's something off, and the ones hiding among Equestria's noble cast says that there's some rumors about the princesses being extremely worried about something..." Walking near all of the eggs again, the Queen's blue eyes glowed with power. "We have to be careful, dear Ditto. Things can change so fast that you would never notice. I know it myself since I had to become a Queen when my mother died. Sometimes, changes can be good, they can make you better. But sometimes, they can also harm you. And I feel like whatever is coming, it will be bad..." The younger mare only stared at her mother with big eyes, as if she had been given some kind of ancient knowledge. She took some moments to collect herself, and after nodding both to her mother and her siblings, Ditto left the room. Alone again, the Queen closed her eyes. "I fear what is to come. Oh, Chrysalis, why do you want to condemn us so bad? And these creatures...they are not natural. Whatever they are, they don't belong here..." I would have approached the princesses for help, but with how much Chrysalis has compromised Canterlot's population, I doubt anything I do will ever been seen as anything other than ill intentioned. I shall call for a reunion with the other Queens; we have to discuss our next course of action... Letting out a grunt, the Queen slowly walked towards the gate, not without looking a last time at the glowing batch of eggs on the corner of the room. "Goodbye, my babies. Tomorrow I'll come back..." Golden Oaks Library, Ponyville. Second Floor The little forms of both Naruto and Sasuke were crawling through the cushioned floor of Twilight's library. It had been like this for a while, the purple mare was still asleep, and so the two hyperactive babies took the chance to wander through the tree on their own. The blonde boy had a purple blanket around him, while the other baby only wore his dark blue hoodie. Had Twilight had the chance to see them go downstairs from her room, she would have been completely surprised with the way they went down. Sasuke had decided to use the railing on the stairs as a support and used his left arm to hold himself from it; once he was sure that his arm wasn't going to loosen from it, he slowly went down the stairs, and most important, he took his first steps using only his legs. Even if he couldn't understand it, there was some kind of feeling inside him that made him smile, as if he had done something truly important. On the other hand, Naruto did something that could've worried the purple mare immensely had she seen it. He just rolled down through the stairs; most of the brunt force was absorbed by the thick blanket he was enveloped with. Thankfully, the way down wasn't really long, so after a few steps he was in the second floor. The other baby was looking at him curiously, and without any warning he got close to the blonde and started to caress his face, as if he was looking for any injury his companion could have taken during his trip down the stairs; once he noticed that everything seemed normal, he let go of Naruto's face and went away, the blonde baby looking at his back with the same curiosity. After living together with Twilight for two weeks now, both babies had a somewhat vague understanding of the tree were they resided. Of course, there were places they remembered better than others, those being their guardian's room, the kitchen and the bathroom; the latter where more often than not they enjoyed a warm bath and played some games. But there was an specific place that Sasuke had wanted to visit on his own for a while. The kitchen, the place where the marvelous food was given to him by the Glorious and Great Purple. Although his mind wasn't developed enough so he could recognize what was going through his head, the pale baby had wanted what he saw inside one of the fridges for a while now. He had enjoyed what Twilight usually give him, but after a while eating the same thing over and over again got boring quite quickly. The black haired baby was crawling right into the kitchen in Twilight's house, and before he entered it, he decided to look at his brother. The other baby's eyes were completely focused on something, but Sasuke didn't really care about that, and so he kept crawling his way into the kitchen. in the middle of Twilight's second floor and where her personal collection of books resided, the whiskered baby was cooing at one of the shelves, as if it could magically hear him. The blonde baby's eyes were captivated by one of the biggest books in the mare's collection. Unfortunately, said book was too high in the shelves, and only someone with magic could actually take it; of course, Naruto didn't have magic. So he did the next best thing, and approached the bookcase and tried to climb it. However, that didn't seem to work, and after the sixth time he just stopped. A pout appeared in his face, his target seemed completely unreachable. He then tried to do the same as the Great Purple, using his mind to lift the book from its cage. However, he didn't seem to have such power, and with that, he sat down on the floor, some tears falling from his eyes. "buhuu..." His blue eyes were so focused in the book that he didn't noticed the purple dragon that appeared behind him. When a claw touched him in the head, the blonde baby looked at his side, where a purple Dragon was looking at him with a smile. "So you want Celestia's illustrated book? Honestly, I can't believe Twilight had the luck to find a pair of eggheads babies!" He ended with a smile; however he approached to the shelf and then climbed to the book and with a quick movement he took it out. "Here...woah! You sure wanted it huh?" He said as the baby quickly took the item from his claw. Spike watched with interest as the human baby opened the book and started to skim through its pages, until he reached a double-page that illustrated Celestia with a shining sun behind her; the baby seemed captivated by the appearance of the princess of the sun, his blue eyes were glued in the picture. Spike had to admit though; it was a really gorgeous depiction of the Princess. As he walked away from the blonde creature, he entered the kitchen, where he found himself looking dumbstruck at the other baby Twilight had pretty much adopted. Sasuke's mouth was filled with chocolate ice-cream, and the moment Spike made act of presence the baby looked at him with his big eyes, as if he was caught doing something he wasn't supposed to. The reptilian youngling let out a sigh and approached Sasuke, and carefully he wiped out the ice-cream from all over his face. The black haired baby giggled at his touch, but was still while Spike cleaned him; once he was done, the baby dragon looked at the surroundings and noted how there was food all over the floor. Wincing, spike looked again at the baby. "uhgh, Twilight's gonna kill you if she sees this...but we do not want that, do we?" He asked playfully, and like that he received a joyous smile "Come here, I gotta leave you with your bro, you two play while a clean this mess, 'kay?" Spike didn't know if the baby understood him, but he guessed that maybe he did, if the way he looked at him was any indication. Walking out of the kitchen, he put the baby right next to his blonde friend, who looked up from the book and babbled some nonsense to the dragon before looking away again; smiling, Spike went back to the kitchen and with a sigh, started to clean it. Opening her eyes with a grunt, Twilight felt as if she hadn't sleep for days. Her entire body was sore, and she could not help but hate the sun that right at that moment was shining through her window right into her face. Not for the first time, she cursed whatever the hay was the cause of her new dreams. It was taxing, and she could felt how not only her body, but her mind, were deteriorating. Recently, she hasn’t been able to function as normal. The easiest of task involving her magic felt more taxing than ever, and she had to rely on Spike to take care of the children. She felt horrible, and tried to remedy it. However, not a single one of her books said anything about dreams so strong to pass through shielding magic. She had casted a variety of spells on herself to sleep, but whatever the hay was happening, the dreams kept bypassing her shields, and every new day she would wake up feeling like crap. Moving to the other side of the bed, she shook her head, and with a titanic effort she set out to get up and start her day. She slowly got up, and once she was standing in the floor, stretched her body, letting out a satisfied grunt when her neck popped. The mare closed her eyes again, standing in the spot and for a few moments, she was asleep. Of course, it didn't last when she heard a crash and then cries, which immediately woke her up and made her jump in her place. Gazing everywhere, the unicorn mare searched for the source of the noise. Her bloodshot eyes then moved to the door that lead to the stairs. Immediately she realized that whatever it was, it must be downstairs. Quickly, she went down, already with her magic prepared for whatever the hay had caused such noise. However, the moment she arrived there, her magic deactivated, since the scene in front of her couldn't be more non-threatening. Spike was in the floor, laughing while both babies were on his back. Little Naruto was biting his tail, although the lack of teeth would mean that he was basically sucking it. Sasuke, on the other hoof, was hugging Spike's neck while sucking the side of his face; all the while the little dragon could only laugh, though she couldn't help but smile when she saw the babies expressions. Both seemed as fierce, as if they were some kind of predator attacking a prey. However, their lack of teeth, size or anything remotely threatening only made it adorable. Humming to herself, the young mare stared at the scene in front of her, and decided that it was a good enough way to start her day.
