> Christmas With Trixie > by FourShadow > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Christmas With Trixie > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- December 24th, Christmas Eve School was out. Everyone was out on Christmas break. Everyone was all at home, having dinner with family and enjoying nothing but each other's company and the warmth of the nice fires from the fireplaces. Some people went outside of Canterlot to visit families, some just stayed in Canterlot where home was. Others spent holidays with other families as massive get-togethers. The Dazzlings were off on their own get-togethers as well. They made a decree that all of them would spend the night with others and their families and then for Christmas Day, all reconvene back to their penthouse and celebrate together as a family. Adagio took this chance to spend Christmas Eve with the love of her life, Trixie Lulamoon. A cute, silly, sweet little dork who was a bit of a shy wallflower, but that never bothered Adagio. She found her shyness so adorable, and she was always there when she needed her. Both Trixie and Adagio sat on a bench, covered by the roof above their heads, waiting for the arrival of their train. It was a lonely stop with just the exception of a few people, but Adagio and Trixie were happy to have a bench close to themselves. Their handbags and Christmas presents stayed close by. "I can't believe it. It's going to be our first Christmas Eve together as a couple," Adagio cooed, nuzzling her girlfriend's cheek. Trixie nuzzled her back. "I never thought this would ever happen." "Why not?" "Well... you know, because, I'm me, and... well, you're just amazing." Adagio smiled and stroked her cheek. "Trixie, you're a lovely girl. I'm sure even if you didn't meet me, you would still find someone." "I guess so. But honestly right now, I'm just happy I'm spending it with you," Trixie smiled, holding Adagio's hand. Just then, they saw their train approach the station. Both of them got up, both their bags and gifts clutched in their hands. The train doors slid open, allowing passengers to get on board. Adagio and Trixie got on, and found some seats available for them to sit in. Once all the passengers climbed on board, the train was set off. Now they were on their way to Trixie's relative's house. Adagio patted the seat next to her, inviting Trixie to sit down next to her. Trixie blushed and sat next to her with a cute smile. Adagio's hand wrapped around Trixie's side, allowing Trixie to lay her head on Adagio's shoulder and hold her close. Trixie couldn't help but relax in Adagio's embrace, She nuzzled Adagio's cheek, who nuzzled her back. "I love you so much, Trixie..." Adagio cooed. Trixie looked up with a tender smile and moved a hand up, brushing Adagio's cheek. The way she leaned into her hand was just adorable. Adagio let out a soft purr, much like a cat would to a human's hand giving it affection. But Adagio snapped right out of the purring almost in a second. "Actually... Trixie. Before we arrive, I want you to open this." Adagio moved the gift that rested in her lap and pushed it onto Trixie's. "But shouldn't we wait til we get there?" "I know, but... but I want you to open this one here." Trixie wanted to say no, but dang it, Adagio was giving her the cutsie eyes! The minute she locked onto those eyes she just couldn't say no! How could she? It was like locking on sight to a cute puppy in a pet store, it wasn't something she could just say no to! With some hesitation, she unwrapped the colorful wrapping paper. Some of the bits and pieces fell onto the floor, and some on the seat. But with the final piece, she managed to uncover the gift inside. Inside was a small box, and when she opened it up, there was a small jewel of sapphire, on top of a golden ring. Trixie was shocked. "Dagi... you... you shouldn't have..." "Well, I know you're not much of a jewelry person," Adagio started. "But I want you to have this. In all my times of hunting for treasures, there was something special about that one that I... I didn't feel like I should have it. But when I met you... I think it was meant for you. You made my life so much more amazing, that I... I wanted you to have something that lets you know how much I love you." Trixie's eyes met Adagio's sparkling eyes. "Oh, Dagi..." Adagio's hand cupped Trixie's face, brushing her cheek and making her blush. She gave a single peck on her cheek and pulled the sapphire out of the box. "May I?" Trixie's palm slowly opened, and Adagio carefully slid the ring down on her ring finger, gently. It was a perfect size. Trixie looked down at it, watching the sparkle. Her eyes twinkled as soon as she looked back at Adagio, staring deep into the abyss that was her beautiful magenta eyes. "Next stop, Astral Town!" When Adagio and Trixie arrived at the station, they were picked up by a relative of Trixie's who was waiting. She greeted them both, giving them cheerful smiles under that scarf and shivering teeth. A quick walk to their car and they were already straight on their way to the house. They stepped to the front porch of the house, ringing the doorbell. On the other side of the door was one of Trixie's younger cousins who went to answer. "Trixie! Hey!" Trixie smiled. "Hey, Vesper. Adagio, this is one of my cousin's, Vesper." Adagio smiled and shook hands with Trixie's cousin. "Pleased to meet you." "Are you her girlfriend?" "Yes, yes I am." "Oh, nice to meet you! You're being nice to Trixie, right?" Vesper asked with a little bit of some doubt. "Absolutely. Besides, this beautiful girl has been keeping me out of trouble," Adagio nuzzled Trixie again, making her face go red. "Dagi..." Trixie blushed deeply, feeling the sweet kiss from Adagio's lips, and her cousin's giggling. "You're so adorable," Adagio giggled. "You know, the last time I saw you, you couldn't even talk to me. But now you're showing up with a girlfriend?" Vesper asked with a confused but still smiling face. "Well, um..." Trixie stuttered. "I-Its kind of a long story, really." "One that I think you should tell inside and not out here in the blistering cold," Adagio suggested. "Oh right, sorry!" Vesper rubbed her head. "Please, come in, come in!" The couple walked inside, wiping their boots on the frizzy carpet. "Trixie, glad you two made it," a new voice said. This time it came from a middle-aged man, almost the same age as Trixie's own father. "Uncle Hat Trick!" Trixie said, hugging her uncle. "It's so good to see you," her uncle reciprocated. "Who's this young lady? I can't say I've seen you." "Oh, right! Uncle, this is my girlfriend, Adagio Dazzle. Adagio, this is my Uncle Hat Trick." "Pleasant to meet you, sir," Adagio opened a hand to shake. Uncle Hat Trick shook hands with her. "Nice to meet you, Adagio. Trixie's said very wonderful things about you," Hat Trick said. "Oh did she?" Adagio asked, glancing to Trixie with a saucy grin. Trixie's face went red again. "Said mostly you were a sweet girl, very confident, and you helped stood up to some bullies at her school. Even some of your own, apparently." Adagio was a bit surprised. She thought Trixie might have told her uncle, or at the very least, some of her relatives a lot of their little adventures and times together back at CHS. But regardless, it didn't matter. Adagio was just happy that Trixie's family was accepting of her, and her relationship with Trixie at all. "Why, yes," Adagio said, snapping out of her trance. Hat Trick chuckled. "I think you'll fit right in, Adagio." "Oh, um, Uncle Hat Trick? Is there anything going on right now, or... are we having dinner soon, or...?" Trixie asked. "Right now, everyone's just getting settled and talking. Some of us are exchanging gifts a bit early, mostly small gifts. So if you've got a gift you want someone to open now, or someone wants you to open one, you're more than welcome to. But right now, you can just relax, talk to family, whatever you want." "Okay," Trixie said before her uncle walked away to go chat with the other family members. "Um, Dagi?" "Yes?" "T-There should be a fireplace room just down the hall. I-If you want, I-I can meet you there, and... w-we can snuggle?" Adagio smiled with a happy squeak. "I would very much love to do so. Don't be too long," Adagio winked, before going down the hallway that Trixie suggested. "Sooo... is Adagio a good kisser?" Vesper teased. "W-What?" Trixie blushed. "W-What kind of question is that?" "Some girls at school told me that some of their boyfriends are bad kissers. I didn't know if that meant the same going on with you. Or are you the bad kisser?" Trixie blinked. "What kind of people do you hang out with?" "I hang out with a lot of weird people," Vesper admitted. Trixie blinked again. "Well... um. Okay. I'm just gonna... see how my girlfriend is doing, and... I guess see you when dinner comes around?" "Okay," Vesper giggled, walking away to talk to her sisters. While the rest of the family continued to chat in the other room, Trixie and Adagio continued to snuggle close together. The burning red and orange fire in the fireplace lit the room, making it feel warm. Adagio couldn't keep her hands off of Trixie, she couldn't imagine letting go of that girl she fell in love with. "This night can't get any better," Adagio cooed. "Actually Adagio, " Trixie said. "I know something that can." Adagio blinked. "What do you mean?" "I have a gift for you, and I want you to open it." "But, Trixie, shouldn't I--" Trixie put her finger on her lips. She smiled to her girlfriend, actually looking confident. "Please. You asked me to open a gift early, and I think you should too. I think you might like it." Trixie picked up the gift and placed it over her girlfriend's lap. Adagio waited for a few seconds, and then she dug her fingers into the wrapping paper, tearing it to pieces. When she got the paper completely unwrapped, there was a fuzzy orange blanket before her. "Sweetie... what is this?" Trixie smiled. "I wasn't sure but... I know how much you like to snuggle with me on cold nights, sooo... I got some help from my grandmother, and she taught me how to crochet a blanket. I thought even if I didn't have something special like jewelry, I... I thought--" Trixie didn't finish. Adagio cupped her face and held her in a sweet and tender embrace, kissing her lips. Her lips tasted like candy. Pulling out of the kiss, Adagio looked at Trixie with watery eyes, but a joyful smile. "I love it..." Adagio whispered. Trixie blushed. "You do?" "I love it!" Adagio squeaked. "And oh my goodness, you actually made my emblem on the blanket, that's so sweet!" "Heh," Trixie blushed even harder. Adagio wrapped her arms around Trixie, purring again. She nuzzled Trixie's cheek, to wit, Trixie nuzzled back with happy squeaks. Adagio cupped her girlfriend's face again and gave her another kiss. "Thank you," Adagio whispered, laying her head on Trixie's shoulder. Trixie just smiled and stroked Adagio's cheek. She reached for the blanket, carefully draping it over herself and Adagio, moving a bit so she could cuddle closer. Both of them, snuggling close to the warm fire. And everything was quiet and peaceful; just as Adagio and Trixie wanted it to be. "Merry Christmas, Adagio."
