What if it was the other way around? And if instead of Luna turning Nightmare Moon and being banned, Celestia became Daybreaker and was banished? How would it be?
Princess Luna and Princess Celestia rule Equestria ; Luna brings the night and Celestia the day. But what if Celestia turned Daybreaker and was banished, instead of Luna?
Celestia and Luna went to the porch of the castle. Luna lit her horn and lowered the moon and made the stars disappear so her sister could raise the sun and bring the day. Celestia lit her horn and raised the sun, to the beginning of a new day for the ponies. Celestia made a point of making the sun look good and radiant so the ponies could enjoy the day she brought them. Satisfied with her work, she went to go and have breakfast.
When she arrived in the room, she saw that her sister was already at the table and was already eating. Princess Celestia sat down next to her sister and began to eat. Luna was eating a pancake on a plate and had a cup of tea, and Celestia, the same as her sister.
After both had eaten, Luna went to her bedroom to sleep, and Celestia was to do her real duties. Celestia entered the throne room and sat on her throne to begin court.
For a strange reason, no pony appeared in the court of the day, neither at the beginning nor at the end. She was sitting on the throne and no pony appeared. She didn’t understand why no ponies appeared in court. Then she thought they were busy with their chores for the day, and they could not come because of it.
After the court was over, Luna entered the room and went to her and said, “let’s go to the porch for you to lower the sun and I bring the night”
Celestia nodded and rose from the throne and followed her sister to the balcony.
Celestia lowered the sun and Luna raised the moon and placed the stars in the sky. After Luna have gone to her nightly court , Celestia decided to take a walk in the night sky, she knew she should sleep so she could wake up early to raise the sun, but a little walk in the moonlight would not hurt, right?
Then she spread her wings and flew to the sky.
‘Sister, you really made this very beautiful night for the ponies today’, thought Celestia with a smile on her face.
Then Celestia heard noises coming from a village, the noise was coming from Ponyville. She then went there, but didn’t land, but kept watching in the sky what was happening.
Celestia saw that many ponies were awake watching the moon and the stars with admiration. She didn’t know why, but seeing this, she felt hurt. Why were they awake and not sleeping? Then, she realized it and it shocked her to the core. They, their subjects were nocturnal. That is, they slept during the day and stayed up at night. No subject had appeared in her courtroom because they were asleep. She simply couldn’t understand.
‘Why would the ponies want to sleep on my beautiful, radiant day that I bring to them and stay awake at the night from my sister?’ thought Celestia sadly.
Then she heard a voice of a filly talking to her mother, “do you know what my favorite time period is?”
“I don’t know,” said the adult mare. " Which one?”
“The night. Because it is so calm and relaxing, unlike the day, we have many things to do. But also, because there are stars in the sky, which look pretty diamonds to the night sky, and the moon then we can look at it without being blind, unlike the sun”, replied the happy filly.
“I’m sure Princess Luna would love your compliment. After all, it’s her who brings the night to us”, said the mother of the filly.
“I known. She’s my favorite princess!” replied the foal happily while jumping.
Tears started coming out of her eyes ,Celestia couldn’t stand it any longer where she was standing,if she stayed longer, she would have an emotional attack in front of the ponies and theirs would see her crying. So she teleported to her room. She threw herself on the bed and began to cry and whine. She didn’t want to be crying, because after all, she was the older sister , she had to be able to control her emotions and be the most strongest emotionally ,but she couldn’t help it. Her subjects loved her younger sister’s night more than her day she brought them.
“Why? Why do they love my sister’s night more than my day?!” cried out Celestia while crying.
She just couldn’t understand what was wrong. Was it her fault? Was there something wrong with her? What made her sun and the day she brought to be overshadowed? Why didn’t they like the sun and the day that it brought to them?
She didn’t know why ponies would want to be nocturnal and go to sleep during the day. After all, the day is so that the ponies could enjoy, have fun, talk to the other ponies, make their commitments that they had to do. At night, the ponies should go to their homes and go to sleep so they could wake up and enjoy a new day that would lie ahead. Why could not they stay awake during the day she brought it? At least for one day ...
If they stayed awaked during the day, at least once, she knew that they would be giving value to what she does.
‘why can not they love my day that I bring to them?Do they even knonw that I exist?’
She didn’t even know if they knew she existed, because they just kept talking about her sister and her night.
‘Why would they want to sleep during my beautiful and radiant day and stay awake during the dark, darkeningand and scary night my sister brings?’
So she thought of something and said something she would never think think to say, “Sister, did you make the ponies against me?” said Celestia distrustful with a slightly angry tone in her voice, with tears streaming down her face.
Luna went to the door of her sister’s room to warn her to go to the balcony for her to raise the sun, “sister, wake up, we have to go to the balcony for you to raise the sun”
“I’m am going, ‘sister’”, said Celestia inside the room.
Luna thought it strange, because her Celestia said ‘sister’ in a bitter way, as if she was irritated?
Princess Celestia opened the door to her room, she had a sullen face.
“Are you okay, sister?” asked Luna worriedly.
“Yes I am”, replied Celestia still looking wild for your younger sister.
“Are you sure?” asked Luna worried. “Because your expression says otherwise”
“Yes I am! Let’s go,” Celestia said almost screaming with anger.
After Luna had lowered the moon and made the stars disappear from the sky and his sun raised, they went to have breakfast.
Luna hadn’t even touched her food because her eyes were staring at her older sister who had not started eating, but she was touching the food with her fork as if she were playing with food and didn’t want to eat.
Luna was still worried about how her sister was acting today. She wasn’t smiling, she wasn’t calm. She found it really strange, because she isn’t to be in a bad mood or irritated, she always had a calm smile and a quiet vibe in the mornings.
“sister, please, tell me what’s making you angry so I can help you”, begged Luna
Celestia stopped fiddling with her fork and looked at her sister, still looking wild, “you made the ponies love your night and they loved you to the point of becoming nocturnal. You put a spell on them so they would turn up at night so they would ignore my sun and me!” exclaimed Celestia irritably.
“I would never put our subjects in a spell so they would become nocturnal! They chose their schedules,” Luna explained to her irritated sister. " I didn’t force them”
“They chose because you bring the night while I am dazzled by the light of your moon and stars!” Yelled Celestia at her sister.
“Sister! Please calm down!” almost screamed Luna.
" Calm down?! You don’t understand what it is when everyone ignores what you do and when you are dazzled by somepony ! shouted Celestia almost with the real voice of Canterlot.
“Sister ...” began Luna.
“I’m very angry today to eat and to talk to you! BYE!” Celestia interrupted and yelled in a very angry tone as she walked towards the door.
Celestia slammed the door behind her to show how angry she was with her sister. The beat was so loud that it was loud enough for everypony who was in the castle to listen.
She went to her room, locked the door magically so her sister wouldn’t come in and couldn’t get in, so she could be alone.
She threw herself on her bed and began to cry. She will never understand her subjects. Why did they ignore their day, but enjoyed the night their sister brought?
“Do they hate me? Do they hate the day I bring them?” asked Celestia sadly.
She didn’t understand, why would they ignore her? She never did and would never do anything bad to them.
Then, she knew the answer!
“It’s all my sister’s fault! It’s her fault that no pony appreciates my work and doesn’t notice me!” said Celestia bitterly.
She was angry and irritated with her younger sister, but now she had a huge hatred of her sister in her heart.
“If the day could last a little longer, I’m sure the ponies would enjoy the day and notice me,” said Celestia with a little happiness and hope in her tone.
“But, of course,Lulu, would not let this to happen! Because if she left, she would stop being worshiped and her night would not be appreciated!” said Celestia returning with her tone of anger, especially at her sister’s nickname.
Then she heard a knock at the door.
“Sister, I don’t want to talk to you!” shouted Celestia angrily to the door of her room. Why did her sister come and talk to her? Didn’t she understand that she didn’t want to talk to her at the moment?
“I’m sorry,your majesty. But I just came to tell you that the day’s court is about to start”, said a royal guard at the door of her bedroom.
“Oh, of course. I’ll sit on that throne and no ponies will come because everypony will be sleeping. I’ll be sitting on the throne doing nothing all day ! I bet that in the night court of my ’sister’, comes a lot of ponies!” thought Celestia with anger.
“I will not be able to attend the court of the day today!” Celestia shouted at the door lightly for the guard outside the room.
The guard thought it was strange. Why will not she be able to participate in the court of the day? But he decided to trust her words and walked away from the door of the princess of the sun to warn the others.
After the footsteps could no longer be heard, she picked up a cushion who was in your bed and threw it into her face.
“ARGH! It’s all your fault, sister!!” screamed Celestia with pure hatred in her voice with the cushion in her face.
“If I could do something so that the moon would not rise higher again and the sun would always be in the sky,then all the ponies would have to stay awake in my day ”, said Celestia irritably.
Then she took the cushion away from her face as she realized what she just said. “Hmm. That doesn’t sound like a bad idea.” Celestia said while she grinned an evil grin while fangs appeared in her mouth as her pupils dilated into the eyes of a dragon.
Princess Luna entered in the throne room. Her sister had asked her in a letter to meet her here, but she didn’t know why her sister had asked her to be here. She was curious, to be honest. What her sister wanted to talk to her . She was approaching where the thrones were until she heard a voice:
“Not another step,” Celestia said seriously behind her sister’s throne before leaving behind him and revealing herself.
She was looking serious at her sister without saying anything.
“Sister? Why did you ask me to come here? What’s going on?” Asked Luna now confused.
“Did you really think I would sit idly by while everypony delighted in your precious darkness ?!” She asked with anger, and rancor present in her voice to Luna.
“Tia?” Luna asked more confused yet. What was she talking about? Did she do something that made Celestia mad?
“There can be only one princess in Equestria. And that princess, will be ME!!”Celestia finished with Canterlot’s real voice while her eyes gleamed white and her mouth wide open showing her teeth.
Her scream was so loud that it made a wall behind her shatter and she could see the moon and the stars in the sky. Celestia raised her front paws as her horn shone, causing the moon to descend, the stars to fade and the sun rise. But the sun was sending terrible waves of heat. Black shadows began to spin at hers thickening until she was no longer seen. The black ball soon exploded into a fireball, inside it came a shadow of a alicorn. The mane and syrup of the alicorn were now rippling waves of fire . The alicorn’s eyes were orange-colored and dilated in dragon’s eyes, her teeth turned to fangs, While while the alicorn maniacally laughed until her hooves landed on the ground, still laughing, like a crazy mare.
Luna was shocked and paralyzed for a while in the same place, until the alicorn stop laughing madly and go to Luna, walked to her soothing. Luna and the mysterious alicorn stared at each other without speaking and doing nothing.
Until Luna decided to speak to break the silence:
“Celestia?” She asked to the misterious alicorn in front of her. Was that her sister? Or was she seeing things?
“Celestia? I am...” The alicorn paused before revealing her name. " ...Daybreaker!” Finished the alicorn revealing her name.
“Sister, I will not fight you! You must lower the sun. It is your duty!” Luna told Daybreaker, refusing to fight with her own sister.
" Never! The day will last forever! And I have one duty now ...” Daybreaker made another dramatic pause before continuing: “...TO DESTROY YOU !!”
Daybreaker launched fire magic to hit Luna, but Luna swerved and fled. She open a hole in the ceiling in the castle with her magic to flee away from her evil sister.
Daybreaker stood still, watching her sister run away and asked smiling evil before she stepped behind her:
“And where you think you’re going?”
Luna was near the sun as she watched Daybreaker approach and launch another fire magic, but Luna swerved.
Daybreaker kept chasing and trying to hit Luna,but she was missing everytime, the only thing she was hitting was the castle,which was suffering damage. Util, she finally hit Luna with her fire magic.
“AAHH!” Luna shouted before falling into the same spot where she and Daybreaker were before.
Daybreaker saw her fall and began to laugh maniacally:
“ MWHÁHÁHÁHÁHÁHÁHÁHÁHÁ!”
Meanwhile downstairs, Luna was still lying there with her eyes closed, not moving or saying anything, but she soon recovered and stood looking and staring at her sister sadly and not believing what she was witnessing . She could not believe that her sister was really trying to destroy her. Her sister was no longer the sister she knew before: Friendly, kind, happy, calm and generous. Now she was: evil, mad, cruel, and selfish. She knew what she must do to protect her subjects from her now evil sister, and it filled her heart with sorrow.
“Oh, dear sister. I’m so sorry. But you would not let me choose, except to use them, “ Luna said before of opening a square hole that had a sculpture where it had the elements placed, it then picks up the elements of harmony with its magic and makes the elements spin around it, until it causing a very strong bright shine. Strong and shiny enough for any pony that was close, to close and tap the eyes
With that, Luna flew to the sky again. Daybreaker saw her and stared at her for a moment before carrying and preparing an attacking magic. So did Luna, with tears in her eyes, she stared at her before carrying and preparing the magic of the elements of harmony to cast at her corrupted sister.
Daybreaker’s magic and the magic of the elements of harmony collided and came into a conflict with each other. Daybreaker used all the strength she had to succeed and win, but it was futile. The magic of the elements was stronger than hers. Daybreaker opened her eyes, her pupils dilated in fear as the magic of the elements overpowered her own and picked her up in its grip, causing her to scream loud.
“NNOOOOO!!!”
The magic went to the sun before it exploded. After the explosion disappeared, the silhouette of a mare remained in the sun.
Luna landed in the castle ground and stared at the sun, sadly, with tears in her eyes before shouting at the sun , as if her sister could hear her :
“I’m so sorry, sister! I really sorry! I didn’t wanted to do this, but you didn’t leave me no other choice! Please, forgive me!”
Luna was crying and whining for a long time before she the sun went down and the moon rising and making stars appear again as it had been before.
When Luna looked at the elements she had used in your corrupted sister, she saw that they had all turned to stone.
