> The Dazzlings 12 Days of Christmas > by Zenyattaluver677 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > First Day - Christmas Parade: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze & Sonata Dusk, formerly known as The Dazzlings, got out of Adagio's car, which was parked in the parking lot of one of the candy stores in their local town, since they couldn't park along the main street as it was blocked off for the Christmas parade they were going to. It was currently December 14th, and it was 12 days until Christmas morning and the girls had decided to do some sort of Christmas-related activity each day for the twelve days before Christmas. Adagio had to be convinced to do it by Aria though, since Aria'd promised Sonata, their younger sister they'd do it. Sonata had anxiety, and doing fun things kept her mind off of it. Aria cared very much for her younger sister, and was very protective over Sonata, always speaking up for and defending her if someone was being mean to her, it was very seldom that Aria told Sonata no, she only did if Sonata was doing something she wasn't supposed to or had something she wasn't supposed to or allowed to have. Adagio cared very little about Sonata and her anxiety and often teased her about her anxiety and didn't see the problem that Sonata had with it, she always thought Aria was just overprotective of Sonata for no reason and always looked over Sonata's anxiety. "This is going to be fun Ari." Sonata said as she held Aria's hand and followed behind her, skipping as she did. "Yeah. Are you excited?" Aria asked, glancing over her shoulder at her younger sister. "Yeah!" Sonata answered excitedly. "You two are lucky I was able to be talked into doing these things every day from now until Christmas, especially this one, I despise the cold." Adagio flatly stated as they walked to the sidewalk and walked down it, looking for a good place to stand for the parade, which started at 7:00, it was currently 6:54. "Oh come on, it's not that cold out here." Aria flatly retorted to her older sister, rolling her eyes at her. Adagio was wearing a dark jade green winter coat with the hood up, black sweatpants, a warm grey long-sleeve shirt, black winter boots, dark grey wool socks, a purple scarf, light purple winter gloves and dark pink earmuffs. Aria was wearing a dark purple winter coat, grey sweatpants, a warm white long-sleeve shirt, purple winter boots, light purple wool socks and dark purple winter gloves. Sonata was wearing a dark magenta winter coat, dark pink sweatpants, a light pink warm long-sleeve shirt, purple wool socks with pink polka-dots, pink winter boots with white trim, dark pink winter gloves, a minty green scarf and a grey hat with cat paws she could put her hands in. "What time does it start?" Sonata asked, looking down the street once they found a place to stand to see if the parade had started yet. "Seven." Aria softly answered, watching her younger sister. "I'm going to go and get some hot chocolate from over there ok." Adagio explained, pointing to the hot chocolate stand that was down the sidewalk a little ways. "Sure whatever." Aria flatly said, glancing over as Adagio walked away and then back out at the street, the parade would start in about four minutes. "Aria look at the thingys on the lamp posts." Sonata said as she pointed to the various shaped garlands on some of the lamp posts around them. "Yeah, those are pretty aren't they?" Aria softly asked, smiling at her younger sister, happy that she was happy. "Yeah. I like that one over there." Sonata answered, pointing to one across the street that looked like a candy cane. "Why does Dagi seem so mad?" Sonata asked, turning to look at her older and protective sister, pointing to their oldest sister who was currently getting her hot chocolate. "Because she'd sooner be at home in the warm house than here in the cold. But she knew she had to come because I forced her to." Aria explained, also looking over at Adagio. "Oh." Sonata replied, looking back down the street to see if the parade was coming. "Don't worry, I'd sooner be here with you than at home." Aria softly said, turning to look at her older sister again. "I know. Thanks Ari." Sonata sweetly replied, looking at her older sister and smiling at her. "You're welcome." Aria said, returning her sister's smile as Adagio walked back over and stood on her other side again, her hot chocolate in her hand. "How much longer until this thing starts?" Adagio flatly asked after taking a sip of her hot chocolate. "It should be starting anytime now, it's seven." Aria answered, pulling her phone out of her coat pocket to look at the time before she did. "Ari are you going to take pictures of the parade?" Sonata asked when she saw her older sister's phone in her hand. "I sure am." Aria replied, turning on her phone and going to the camera and switching the camera to the view where it was facing her and Sonata, "Come here, I'll take our picture right now." she added as she moved closer to her younger sister. "Ee!" Sonata excitedly exclaimed as she smiled for the picture and Aria took it. "There, I'll post that on Instagram when we get home." Aria explained, switching the camera back to the other view and then turning her phone off. "Ooh look. I see lights down there." Sonata said, pointing down the street to some lights that were approaching them. "I think I know what it is." Aria playfully replied, receiving a smile from her younger sister which she returned. Aria glanced over at Adagio when Sonata looked back down the street and focused her attention on the parade that was getting closer to them, Aria saw that Adagio wasn't paying attention and was looking at something on her phone. She nudged Adagio in the ribcage and pointed down the street at the parade when Adagio looked up at her with flat expression to see what she wanted, Adagio signed and then turned her phone off and put it back in her pocket. She rolled her eyes when Aria looked away but watched the parade with little amusement. "I like that one!" Sonata excitedly said when a float passed them that had a bunch of candy canes and snowmen on it. "I like that one to." Aria said, she was currently taking pictures of various floats from the parade to put on her Instagram. "Dagi which one do you like?" Sonata asked her oldest sister, turning to look at her. "Huh. Oh, I liked the one that went by that had the white and blue Christmas lights on it that the people who run the community hall had." Adagio answered after realising Sonata'd said something to her, she wasn't really paying attention to the parade, she just answered so Aria wouldn't lecture her for ignoring Sonata. "Oh yeah, I liked that one to." Sonata replied, looking back at the parade. Both she and Aria took note of their sister's forced answer. "You know you could try to at least act excited." Aria flatly whispered to Adagio. "Yeah, yeah whatever." Adagio flatly replied, shrugging off what Aria'd said when Aria looked away. *4 MINUTES LATER* "Alright, come on then, it's over, let's head home." Adagio said almost immediately after the last float went past. "Jeez, sometimes I swear you're fussier than Sonata." Aria sarcastically said, causing Sonata to giggle a little bit at what she'd said since Sonata knew it was addressed at Adagio and not her. "You think that's funny Sonata?" Adagio asked, stopping and abruptly turning to glare at her youngest sister. "Um, n-no." Sonata quietly answered, stepping behind Aria so she'd be safe, knowing Aria'd protect her. "Hey! She was just agreeing with what I said. If you have a problem with it you can talk to me about it when we get home after I put her to bed at ten." Aria defensively explained, glaring at Adagio while Sonata cautiously looked over her shoulder at Adagio. "Ugh whatever. Let's go." Adagio flatly replied before turning and beginning to walk back towards where she'd parked her car. Aria and Sonata followed her once Aria told Sonata it was ok. > Second Day - Movie Night: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was currently 6:00 at night and Aria was currently walking down the stairs to the basement to get Sonata so she could come upstairs for the movie night her and her sisters had planned to do that night. She stepped off the last step of the basement and then turned and walked across the basement towards her younger sister's playroom, which she saw that the door was open to, but she would still knock before entering when she got to it as she always did to let her sister know she was there and it was her. Upstairs, Adagio was putting the Apple TV they had in their living room on Netflix so they could watch some Christmas movies, she was also going to go upstairs to the storage closet and get a blanket she could use, since she knew she couldn't have the one that was on the couch because Aria and Sonata would probably be using it. "Nata." Aria softly said as she knocked on the door to her younger sister's playroom when she reached it. "Yeah?" Sonata asked, turning to look at her older sister. "Come on upstairs, we're going to watch the movies in a bit." Aria softly explained, gesturing for Sonata to come with her upstairs. "Ooh ok." Sonata excitedly said, getting up to follow her older sister back across the basement and up the stairs. Aria turned off the light in Sonata's playroom and gently shut the door once Sonata was standing next to her and then they both turned and walked back towards the stairs to head back up to the main floor of the house. "What movies are we going to watch Ari?" Sonata asked once they got to the basement stairs and began to walk up them. "Don't know yet, we're each going to pick a movie to watch." Aria softly answered, glancing over at her younger sister when they got to the top of the stairs and turned to walk down the hallway to the living room. As they walked, Aria turned out the hall light, since the Christmas lights that they had on the stair railing and banister were on, she'd turned out the basement light as well, and the living room lights were off except for the Christmas lights and the TV. The two of them entered the living room and walked over to the couch, Sonata watching as Aria grabbed the throw blanket and then sat down, patting the spot beside her and her lap, saying Sonata could choose where she wanted to sit. "Are we going to cuddle?" Sonata asked as she walked over and sat down on the couch next to Aria and then moved to sit on Aria's lap. "We sure are you little munchkin." Aria playfully replied as she put the blanket over top of both of them once Sonata was situated. "Oh good, you two are back." Adagio said when she entered the living room with a blanket in her hand. "Yeah, we are." Aria replied, looking over at her older sister while Sonata played with a couple strands of her hair. "Alright who wants to pick a movie first then?" Adagio asked as she walked over and sat down in her reclining chair, she was more convincing to get to watch Christmas movies because it didn't involve leaving the house and going out in the cold. "I do!" Sonata excitedly said, this made Aria smile. "Ok, what do you want then?" Adagio flatly asked again, picking the remote up once she was situated and switching through the Christmas movies slowly so Sonata could pick one. "Uh, that one." Sonata said when Adagio stopped on a movie called "How The Grinch Stole Christmas". "Ah, I like that one to." Aria said after seeing the movie Sonata wanted. "Alright, we'll watch this first then." Adagio said as she put the movie on and then set the remote down on the side table beside her reclining chair and they began to watch the movie. Sonata rested the left side of her head on Aria's right shoulder while they watched the movie and had her arms gently wrapped around Aria's waist. Aria gently had her right arm wrapped over Sonata and the blanket was over top of them, Aria looking down every few minutes as she often did to check on Sonata and kissed her forehead every few times she looked down. *1 HOUR & 34 MINUTES LATER* "I liked that movie." Sonata said as Adagio switched off the movie once it ended so they could go to another one, it was now 7:34 at night. "I did to. Who's picking now?" Aria said, asking who was picking the next movie. "You can, I really don't care." Adagio answered, glancing over at her younger sisters who were still cuddling on the couch. "Ok, how about we watch The Polar Express." Aria replied, looking down and smiling at Sonata once she did. "Alright then. There we go." Adagio said once she put The Polar Express on the TV. The three of them then began to watch the movie again, Sonata watched the movie with a bit more focus than the first movie and Aria was happy that Sonata was interested in the movie and seemed to be trying to understand the concept of it, which if she didn't, Aria would tell her. Aria gently pulled the blanket over both of them more and then gently took the ponytail out of her sister's hair and put the elastic around her wrist so she'd remember to put it in Sonata's container when she put Sonata to bed. *1 HOUR & 40 MINUTES LATER* "Ok, this one's over. Now, before I pick, I'm going to grab something from the kitchen to snack on." Adagio explained as she got up out of her reclining chair and walked towards the doorway that led from the living room to the kitchen. It was now 9:04pm, Sonata would go to bed in about an hour. "Did you like that movie Nata?" Aria softy asked once Adagio left. "Yeah, I really liked the ending." Sonata answered, looking up at her older sister. "Me to." Aria softly replied, gently leaning down and kissing Sonata's forehead, "I love you Nata." she added once she finished kissing her sister. "I love you to Ari." Sonata sweetly replied, smiling at her older sister after Aria kissed her. "Ok, I'm back." Adagio said as she walked back into the living room and went and sat back down in her recliner and put the blanket she was using back over herself, "Now, the movie I'm picking is A Christmas Prince." she added before flipping to the movie she wanted and they began watching it after she clicked it on. "Ooh, ninety two minute runtime, she might fall asleep." Aria said, letting Adagio know Sonata might fall asleep as the movie would go past her bedtime. "Ok, that's fine I guess." Adagio replied, annoyed that Sonata might fall asleep but knew it was something her youngest sister often did when she didn't go to bed at her bedtime, which was 10:00pm. *1 HOUR LATER* It was now 10:06pm, Aria looked down at Sonata and saw that her younger sister had fallen asleep, the movie only had thirty two minutes left on it and Aria didn't know for sure when Sonata'd fallen asleep but she'd been awake for most of the movie. Aria gently pulled the portion of the blanket that was on Sonata up so it was covering the base of Sonata's neck and then gently moved Sonata's head to rest it on the base of her own neck with her left hand. "Did she fall asleep?" Adagio asked Aria, saying it quieter than normal in case Sonata was asleep, so Aria wouldn't get mad at her. "Yeah she did." Aria answered, looking back at the TV once she knew Sonata was comfortable enough to sleep where she was until the movie ended. "Ah, I see." Adagio replied, also looking back at the TV. *32 MINUTES LATER* "That was a good movie." Adagio said once the movie ended. "Yeah, I'm going to take her to bed." Aria replied, slowly moving the blanket and getting off the couch to take Sonata upstairs to bed. "Ok, have fun." Adagio said, watching as Aria left the living room with Sonata. Aria quietly walked down the hall and then up the stairs to Sonata's room so she could get her sister to put on her pajamas, brush her teeth, take her anxiety medication and then go to bed, as it was already past her bedtime. > Third Day - Paper Snowflakes: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ok Aria, you can go and get Sonata to come down here, we have everything we need." Adagio said to Aria once they finished setting up everything for that day's Christmas activity, which was making paper snowflakes. "Alright, I'll go get her." Aria said before leaving the kitchen to go and get Sonata, who was currently playing in her bedroom with some of her toys. Aria walked across the hall after leaving the kitchen and then turned to go upstairs, when she reached the top of the stairs, she walked down the hall to her sister's bedroom, which the door was slightly open to. When she reached the bedroom, she gently knocked on the door to let Sonata know it was her and she was there. "Hi Ari." Sonata said, turning to look at her older and protective sister. "Hi, want to come downstairs and we can start making the paper snowflakes?" Aria asked, smiling at her younger sister. "Sure." Sonata answered, returning her sister's smile as she stood up and walked over and out of her room to stand beside her. "Ok, let's go." Aria replied once she shut Sonata's bedroom door once Sonata was standing beside her. Sonata followed Aria to and down the stairs and into the kitchen where Adagio was currently sitting at the table and looking on her phone for a design she could use for her snowflake, Aria and Sonata sat down in their normal spots at the kitchen table. Once they sat down, Aria turned on her phone and went to the Internet so she could look for a design to do on her own snowflake, Sonata was going to use the laptop that stayed downstairs to look for her design. "Ok, Sonata, what you're going to do is find a design on Google Images that you like and then follow the instructions and at the end it should look like the design you picked." Aria softly explained one she had Google Images on her phone. "Oh, ok that's easy." Sonata said before turning to the laptop screen to look for a design for her snowflake. The three of them busied themselves with their snowflakes, Adagio finding a design she liked rather quickly and setting her phone down on the table so she could follow the instructions on the design and make her snowflake. The design Adagio picked was a design where the inner points on the snowflake would be quartz-shaped and the outer points would have triangular shapes. Aria glanced over at Sonata a couple minutes later after picking out her own design to see if her younger sister'd picked out a pattern for her snowflake yet and just to check on her and see how she was doing. "Did you find one you like?" Aria softly asked her younger sister after seeing her click on a couple different patterns. "Um, yeah I did, I like this one." Sonata answered as she clicked on a pattern and showed her older sister. "I like it to." Aria replied, grabbing her phone. "I'm doing this one." she added as she showed her sister the design she was doing. "Ooh, it looks nice." Sonata said after seeing the snowflake pattern on her sister's phone screen. The two turned back to their papers and began to follow the instructions on the patterns they'd picked, after a few more minutes went by, Sonata looked over at her older sisters, seeing they were both working on drawing out the design on their folded piece of paper. She was currently having a bit of trouble trying to get the last fold on her paper to fold properly, she didn't want to bug Aria, but she also wanted to see if she'd help her make the fold properly. "Ari." Sonata quietly said as she reached over and gently tapped her older sister's right arm to get her attention. "What?" Aria softly asked as she turned to see what her younger sister wanted. "Can you help me with this fold? I can't get it." Sonata asked, pointing to the current fold she was trying to do so her sister would know which one she needed help with. "Yeah, I think I can do that." Aria playfully answered as she gently grabbed her younger sister's snowflake to help her with the fold she was having problems with. "Thank you." Sonata replied as she watched her older sister fold the snowflake. "Ok there you go, you're welcome." Aria said as she handed her sister back the paper snowflake once she finished the fold. *15 MINUTES LATER* "Are we all done?" Adagio asked as she set her now finished paper snowflake down on the table after unfolding it. "Yeah we are." Aria answered, both her and Sonata did the same. "Ok, let's go put them on the window in the living room then." Adagio explained as she gestured for her sisters to follow as she got up from the kitchen table and grabbed her snowflake. Aria and Sonata followed Adagio into the living room and they all put their snowflakes on the window using some scotch tape so they'd stay on the window. Once that was done, they all went back to do what they'd been doing before, after the cleared the table off. > Fourth Day - Ice Skating: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Ok Sonata, let’s sit down on the bench here and we can put our skates on.” Aria explained softly to her younger sister as her, Sonata and Adagio walked over to the outdoor skating rink that was in their local town. “Can you help me put mine on Ari?” Sonata asked as she sat down on the bench, handing her skates to her older sister. “Sure.” Aria softly replied as she grabbed her sister’s skates, untied the knot that was holding the two together and then gently grabbed Sonata’s right foot to put on her skate and tie it for her. Adagio and Aria’d gone skating a few times before and knew how to do it, but Sonata’d never gone before, this was her first time skating and her anxiety was making her nervous about it. She was worried she’d fall and hurt herself while skating, and she didn’t want to get laughed at by anyone else on the ice that she didn’t know if she fell or for not knowing how to skate. Aria’d told her that she’d make sure Sonata wouldn’t hurt herself and that she knew Aria would defend her if someone laughed or pointed fingers at her for not knowing how to skate or for falling. “You ready to have fun Sonata?” Aria softly asked as she continued to tie Sonata’s skate on her right foot. “Um, yeah.” Sonata quietly answered, watching her older sister tie her skate. “She doesn’t sound to enthusiastic about this Aria.” Adagio stated while tying her own skates, she was sitting on the opposite edge of the bench. “Well she’s scared, she’s never done this before.” Aria explained softly as she finished tying Sonata’s right skate and then moved to tie her left one. “Ok, I’m done tying my skates, when you both are ready, you can set your blade guards for your skates next to mine, we’re only going to be here for an hour.” Adagio explained as she took her blade guards off her skates and set them down where she’d been sitting on the bench once she stood up. “Ok.” Aria flatly replied, she didn’t look up as she was busy with Sonata’s skate. “Blade guards? What’s that Ari?” Sonata asked her older and protective sister once Adagio skated off. “It’s the thing on the bottom of our skates, they just protect the blade from cement, wood, metal and rocks so the blades don’t get dull or rusty.” Aria softly explained as she finished tying Sonata’s left skate. “These feel weirder than shoes Ari.” Sonata said as she noticed how the skates felt on her feet. “Yeah they will at first Nata. Those should be tight enough.” Aria softly replied, looking up and smiling at her younger sister while she tested the tightness of her skates. She was able to stick two fingers between both legs and toplines of the skates but not a third. “I want to take the blade thingy off.” Sonata said when saw Aria reach down to take off the blade guards. “Oh ok, just be careful. The blades are sharp so try not to cut your hand or fingers.” Aria explained as she stood up and sat down on the bench to tie her own skates. “Ok Ari.” Sonata replied before turning and carefully taking off her blade guards as Aria tied her own skates. *2 MINUTES LATER* “Alright, are you ready?” Aria said as she stood up off the bench and set hers and Sonata’s blade guards down by Adagio’s. “Um, I don’t know. No one’s going to laugh at me right?” Sonata replied, asking if she’d get laughed at, she was moving her blades back and forth on the ice, not really liking how easily they moved and how thin they were. “Nope. If they do, I’ll say something, you know that.” Aria softly answered, smiling at her sister to reassure her it was ok as she held her right hand out for Sonata to grab. “Ok.” Sonata said as she took her sister’s hand and slowly stood up, wobbling a little bit on her feet while she did, Aria gently took her other hand and then gently held her by her hips to make sure she wouldn’t fall when she tried to skate. “There, now all I’m going to do is hold you and we can skate towards the other side of the rink, I’ll just say either left or right and that’s the skate you use ok, you’ll have to alternate though.” Aria softly and slowly explained to her younger sister once she figured out her center or gravity and got her balance on her skates. “Ok Ari.” Sonata said, willing to do whatever as long as Aria helped her and didn’t let her hurt herself. Aria and Sonata slowly began to skate across the ice rink with Aria softly telling Sonata which foot to use so Sonata’d learn how to skate, Sonata caught her pick on the ice a couple times and stumbled but Aria was there to catch her everytime so she wouldn’t fall. They eventually made it to the other side of the rink and once they did, Sonata grabbed the wall to stabilize herself and turned to look at Aria. “Good job, you made it all the way over here.” Aria softly praised, smiling at her younger sister, letting her know she was proud of her for what she’d just done. “Thanks Ari.” Sonata replied, returning her older and protective sister’s smile. “You’re welcome. Now, we can go that way, towards where Adagio is, you can either hold the wall with one arm and try by yourself or we can do what we did before and I’ll hold you and skate behind you.” Aria explained, pointing to their older sister who was standing at the far edge of the rink, watching them. “I want to hold the wall and just try by myself, but, what happens if I fall?” Sonata asked, saying she wanted to try herself. “If you feel like you’re going to fall or you accidentally catch your pick on the ice and fall, just bend your knees and squat. Then just put your hands in your lap and lean forward and fall sideways, once you fall, roll onto your hands and knees and get back up by putting one foot at a time between you're knees and push yourself back up.” Aria slowly explained so Sonata would understand better. “Ok. I get it.” Sonata replied once she contemplated what Aria’d said to her for a minute. “Alright come on, I’ll let you go first and then I’ll just skate beside you at the pace you set ok.” Aria softly explained again, skating a little closer to her younger sister. Sonata nodded and slowly began to skate on her own, holding onto the edge of the arena with her right arm, doing what Aria’d said earlier, alternating between her left and right foot as she skated forward. Aria skated beside her and told her she was doing a good job every few seconds and to keep going, at the far end of the arena, Adagio continued to watch them, as she’d figured out they were coming towards her. She skated forwards a little ways so they wouldn’t have to go as far, moving off the wall so they’d have room to stop beside her. Aria and Sonata were about half way to Adagio when one of the picks on Sonata’s left skate caught in the ice and she felt herself falling, Aria stopped and watched as Sonata’d done as she’d said and fell the proper way. Once Sonata was sitting on her knees, Aria skated over to her. “You ok?” Aria softly asked. “Yeah. Did anyone notice?” Sonata replied, asking if someone had noticed her fall besides Aria. “Well Adagio probably did but she knows you’ve never done this before so she most likely won’t laugh, if she does, she’ll just have to talk to me about it.” Aria softly answered, looking around to see if anyone else had noticed Sonata fall. “Oh ok.” Sonata said as she slowly got up the way Aria’d told her to, grabbing the wall again once she was on her feet. “There, good job, now let’s keep going. We’re almost to where Adagio is.” Aria softly said once Sonata was steady on her feet again. “Ok.” Sonata replied, smiling at her sister’s praise, starting off skating again. “She’s doing pretty good I see.” Adagio said when Aria and Sonata reached her and stopped, Sonata stopped by grabbing the wall with her other arm. “Yeah, she’s doing really good.” Aria replied, looking over and smiling at Sonata. “Dagi, this is fun.” Sonata said to her oldest sister. “Yeah, I know it is.” Adagio replied, since she didn’t ever play along with things Sonata said like Aria did. “Ari come on, I want to go that way.” Sonata explained, pointing to somewhere near where the bench that had their stuff was. “Ok come on then, let’s go.” Aria said before she and Sonata skated away from Adagio, who skated in the opposite direction. > Fifth Day - Game Night: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Ari.” Sonata said as she walked into the kitchen through the doorway that separated the living room and kitchen. “What?” Aria asked, turning to look at Sonata while her and Adagio set up things for that night’s Christmas activity, which was basically just a game night, they were going to be playing a couple board games. “Can we start yet?” Sonata asked, walking over to her older sister, “I’m bored.” she added when she reached Aria. “Yeah we can start now. Right Adagio?” Aria answered, looking to Adagio to make sure they had everything. “Yep, everything’s ready.” Adagio replied as she sat down in her usual spot, the chair at the head of the table that was closer to the counter. “Yay!” Sonata excitedly said as her and Aria walked around and sat down at their usual spots at the kitchen table, with Aria sitting between her sisters. “Here, read this, it basically just sums up how to play for you in a simpler way, I wrote it down for you earlier.” Aria explained, handing Sonata her phone which currently had notes on it. “Ok.” Sonata replied before quietly beginning to read how to play the game and the rules of the game. While Sonata read the rules and how to play the game, Aria and Adagio set up the board and placed everything where it was supposed to go on the board, they put each of the eight red top secrel tiles face down in each room and then the eight booby trap tiles face down on top of reach top secret tile. Aria shuffled the tool cards while Adagio put the little dog and guard game tokens in their respected places on the board and then got out three agent game tokens, the purple, blue and orange agents. “This sounds easy.” Sonata said after she finished reading, handing Aria’s phone back to her older sister. “It is, it’s really fun to.” Aria replied as she finished shuffling the cards and passed four out to each of them, giving herself the robot card, as she figured she’d be going last as Sonata would most likely want the blue agent game token, and the one with the blue went first. “Here, give her the blue one, since you usually use the purple one and I use the orange one.” Adagio said, giving Aria the blue and purple agent game tokens. “Ok.” Aria flatly replied as she took the agent game tokens and handed the blue one to Sonata. Once everything was ready and they all had their cards in front of them, Adagio started the timer for twenty two minutes and they began to play the game. *22 MINUTES LATER* “Yay! We did it.” Sonata said when they stopped the timer on the game before it went off. “We sure did.” Aria replied, looking over and smiling at her younger sister. “That was fun.” Adagio said, collecting everything so she could put it back in the box. While Adagio put the game away, Aria entertained Sonata with something on her phone, something that caused Sonata to giggle. Adagio wanted to see what they were looking at but knew Aria didn’t let Adagio look on her phone, so she wouldn’t bother asking, since she knew the answer would be no. Once she had Break The Safe put away in its box, she grabbed the deck of playing cards they’d pulled out and opened the box and took the cards out of the box and then took the jokers out of the deck. “Ooh. What are we playing now?” Sonata asked when she noticed the cards in Adagio’s hands as Adagio shuffled them. “Go Fish.” Adagio answered without looking up, as she was distracted with shuffling the cards. “You know how to play this game right Sonata?” Aria softly asked, turning her phone off and setting it beside her on the table. “Um, no. If I do then I don’t remember how.” Sonata answered, looking at her older sister with a confused look on her face. “Ok, so it’s a really easy card game. All you do is set down any matching pairs you have on the table and ask someone else for a number on a card or a card that you have that you think they have so you can make a matching pair. The person with the most matches at the end wins.” Aria slowly explained so Sonata would be able to understand. “Wait, matching pairs? Is that the numbers, the shapes or the colors?” Sonata asked, still slightly confused on what she had to match. “Just numbers.” Aria answered as Adagio dealt out seven cards to each of them and then set the deck in the middle of the table so they could reach it. “Oh ok, that’s easy.” Sonata replied as she and her sisters picked up their cards and set out any matching pairs they had. *15 MINUTES LATER* “Alright, count your pairs you two, we’ll see who wins.” Adagio said as she began to count up the pairs of matches she had. Her sisters began to do the same. “Alright, I’ve got seventeen.” Aria said after she finished counting. “Eighteen.” Adagio replied before they both looked to Sonata to see how many pairs she had, seeing she was having trouble keeping track of which ones she’d counted and which ones she hadn’t counted. “Here, let me help you.” Aria softly said, reaching to help Sonata count her card pairs. “Ok, can you hold the ones I’ve already counted?” Sonata asked, looking up at Aria, realising she was taking forever to count. “Sure.” Aria answered, helping Sonata count her cards. “How many do you have Sonata?” Adagio asked Sonata once she finished counting her cards. “Seventeen.” Sonata answered. “Alright, that means Adagio wins.” Aria said as she handed Adagio hers and Sonata’s pile of cards so she could put them back in the box with the rest of the cards. “Well, that was fun.” Adagio said as she put the cards back in their box. “Yeah. Can’t wait for what we’re doing tomorrow.” Aria replied as she and Sonata got up from the table. Aria and Sonata disappeared into the living room to relax on the couch until supper time and Adagio put the board game and card deck away before she went to look for something to make for supper. > Sixth Day - Community Christmas Concert: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Ari, there’s a lot of people here.” Sonata quietly said as she followed her older sisters into the town hall for the christmas concert their local town held annually. “I know, you’re alright.” Aria softly replied, turning to look at her younger sister as they entered the small boot hall area of the town hall. “Did you bring me anything I could play with before it starts?” Sonata quietly asked as they took their boots off. “I did, I brought three of your little toy horses for you.” Aria answered, waiting for Sonata to put her shoes beside hers and Adagio’s and then they walked into the slightly larger area where coats could go. “Dagi, this is going to be fun.” Sonata said while all three of them took their coats and gloves off. “I know, don’t be bad.” Adagio flatly replied, turning and pointing her index finger at Sonata to tell her not to be bad. “She won’t be. She’ll be shy and probably stay around me the whole time.” Aria defensively said as they handed their coats and gloves to the people who were hanging them up in the small coat room. “Whatever. Let’s go find somewhere to sit.” Adagio explained, shrugging off what Aria’d said about Sonata, as she often did. “Come on Sonata.” Aria softly said, gently taking Sonata’s left hand in her right hand and then they followed Adagio. The three of them walked into the main hall area and looked around at the decorations and the set up at the hall, in the corner to their right, was a table set up with baked goods and hot chocolate. In the front right corner of the hall next to the stage was a huge Christmas tree, and there were Christmas lights strung around the windows of the hall and on the front of and around the stage. The girls walked over to one of the tables on the right side of the room and sat down at the one behind the last bench, Sonata immediately crawling onto and sitting on Aria’s lap, since she was scared and shy of being around strange people and being in a strange place. Once they were situated, Adagio walked over to the goods table to get some hot chocolate for herself and Aria. “Did you see the Christmas tree Nata?” Aria quietly whispered to her younger sister, pointing to the Christmas tree. “Yeah, why is it so big?” Sonata asked, looking at how big the Christmas tree was. “I don’t know, most likely because it’s a real tree.” Aria softly answered, gently brushing a strand of hair behind Sonata’s ear that had escaped the ponytail her hair was in. “Here.” Adagio said when she returned to the table, handing Aria her hot chocolate. “Thanks.” Aria replied as she took her hot chocolate from Adagio’s hand and took a quick sip of it before turning her attention back to Sonata. “Do you want your toy horses?” Aria asked her as she set her hot chocolate down on the table in front of her. “Yeah.” Sonata replied, looking up at her older and protective sister. “Ok, there you go.” Aria said once she grabbed the toy horses from the small bag they’d brought to put their things in, like their phones, wallets and car keys. “When does this thing start?” Adagio asked as she grabbed her phone out of the bag to check the time, seeing it was 6:52. “I think seven o'clock.” Aria answered before taking another sip of her hot chocolate while Sonata played with her toy horses on the table. “So about eight minutes then.” Adagio replied, setting her phone down on the table and grabbing her hot chocolate and taking a sip of it. *8 MINUTES LATER* “Ok, it’s going to start.” Aria softly whispered to Sonata as the lights of the hall were all turned out except for the Christmas and stage lights and everyone grabbed a seat and looked to the stage. “Ooh, it looks pretty.” Sonata said, handing her toy horses to her sister so Aria could put them back in the bag. “Yeah.” Aria replied, smiling that her younger sister was now happy and interested in what was going on. She leaned back on her chair slowly, so Sonata would know she was doing it. “This is going to be fun.” Sonata said as she leaned back on Aria after Aria leaned back on her chair. “It sure is.” Aria softly said, gently moving her right hand to rub Sonata’s right shoulder gently. *55 MINUTES LATER* “Is it over?” Sonata asked when the lights in the hall were turned back on and the kids began to run around again. “Yeah, it’s over.” Aria answered, gently getting Sonata to move so she could stand up to go throw her long emptied hot chocolate cup in the garbage at the back of the hall. “Watch her for a few seconds.” Aria said to Adagio before walking away to put her cup in the trash. “Yeah, sure. Whatever.” Adagio replied, although slightly distracted by something on her phone, since the town hall had wifi. “Dagi.” Sonata said, wanting to talk to her oldest sister about the concert. Adagio didn’t answer or look up, she just continued to look at something on her phone. “Dagi.” Sonata said again, gently tapping her oldest sister’s shoulder this time to get her attention. “What do you want Sonata?” Adagio flatly asked, looking up at her sister from her phone screen now. “Did you like the concert?” Sonata asked her, slightly backing away from Adagio as she did. “Oh, yeah I did.” Adagio answered before turning back to look at her phone. Sonata looked over at the table behind them with all the goods on it and seen there was some cookies and cupcakes on it, knowing she wasn’t allowed to have any because they made her anxiety bad. Aria walked back over to the table and saw Sonata watching something and followed her gaze to the goods table, guessing she probably wanted something from it, and Aria did let her have one once in a while, only if her anxiety wasn’t bothering her, or if it was a special occasion, which this was. “Come on Sonata, you can pick out something.” Aria softly explained, gesturing for Sonata to come over to her. “Really?” Sonata asked as she walked over to Aria. “Yeah, it’s a special occasion and you’re anxiety’s not bothering you.” Aria answered, leading Sonata over to the table so she could pick a cookie. Sonata looked over her options and Aria allowed her to take her time, since Sonata wasn’t normally allowed cookies. The options were sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, some little cookies with M & M’s in them, gingerbread cookies and cupcakes. “I want one of those please.” Sonata said, pointing to the tray of chocolate chip cookies. “Ok. There you go.” Aria said as she picked up a cookie and handed it to her younger sister. “Thanks Ari.” Sonata replied, turning and following Aria back over to the table where Adagio was still sitting. “You’re welcome.” Aria answered. “Are you two ready to go?” Adagio asked when they reached the table. “Sure, if you want to we can go I guess.” Aria answered, quickly checking to make sure they had everything. “Ok good, come on. I want to go home and relax.” Adagio explained, getting up from the table. The three of them then proceeded to get their coats, gloves and boots on and then left the hall and got into Adagio’s car to head home. > Seventh Day - Christmas Shopping: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Ok Nata. Let’s go find some things for Adagio.” Aria explained as her and Sonata entered one of the three malls in their local town to look for presents for Adagio. “Ok. Wait, isn’t she in town today to?” Sonata said, asking if Adagio was also in town. “She is, I think she’s doing her Christmas shopping, but I’m not sure.” Aria answered as they began to walk through the mall, looking for stores to go into for Adagio. They walked for a little bit before they got to a jewelry store on the first floor of the mall, they decided they might as well go in and look around to see if they found something for Adagio, since Adagio liked jewelry. The two of them walked in and began to look at various types of jewelry in the store, hoping they’d find something. “Ok, I’m going to go look over there, if you want you can stay here and look and if you find something you want to get Adagio just come and get me and I’ll buy it for you.” Aria softly explained to her younger sister, showing her where she was going to go look in the store. “Ok Ari.” Sonata replied before going back to looking at the necklaces on the stand that was beside them. Aria walked over to the middle of the store and began to look at the tables that had some bracelets, rings and some pins displayed on them, looking for something she felt Adagio would like and didn’t already have. Meanwhile, across town in one of the local toy stores, Adagio was looking for something to get Sonata, since she’d already done most of her Christmas shopping for Aria. She’d asked Aria what Aria’d gotten Sonata earlier that morning before they’d left, so she’d know not to get Sonata something Aria’d already gotten for her. Adagio walked over to the shelf with all the toy animals on it and looked around at them, debating what to get her sister, trying to refrain from toy horses, as she already had a ton and Aria’d gotten her a bunch. “Hmm, I don’t really know what other animals she likes besides horses. She mainly just talks about horses all day.” Adagio mumbled to herself as she looked at the shelf. Deciding to text Aria to see what other animals Sonata liked besides horses, Adagio grabbed her phone out of her side purse, turned it on and unlocked it. Once it was unlocked, Adagio went to her messages app and clicked on Aria’s contact and typed in her message, which read: ‘Hey Aria. Quick question, what other types of animals does Sonata like besides horses?’ Adagio sent the text and then went back to looking around at the toy animals while she waited for Aria to text her back. It took a couple minutes before she felt her phone vibrate in her hand and looked down at it, seeing Aria’d texted her back, the text read: ‘Hey. She likes dogs, cats, cows, tigers, wolves and giraffes.’ ‘Ok thanks. I just didn’t want to get her horses, since I figured that’s what you got her’ Adagio texted back. ‘Yeah. That’s what I got her mostly.’ Aria replied through text immediately. ‘Alright well I’ll let you get back to whatever you’re doing. Thanks.’ Adagio texted back before putting her phone back in her side purse. Back at the mall, Aria put her own phone away in her side purse after reading Adagio’s reply and continued to look for something she could get Adagio. On the other side of the store, Sonata found a necklace she though Adagio would like, the necklace was silver and had a little gold deer head with antlers on it. “Ari.” Sonata said, calling to her older sister who was now on the other side of the store looking at things. “What is it?” Aria asked as she walked across the store to her sister, to see what she wanted. “I want to get this for Dagi.” Sonata replied, showing Aria the necklace she’d found that she thought Adagio would like. “Ok. I’ll hold onto it then and I’ll pay for it when we’re ready to leave. I still have to find something for her.” Aria explained as she took the necklace Sonata’d pointed to off the rack it was on and held onto it. “Ooh, I’ll help you look. What were you going to get her?” Sonata asked, offering to help her older sister look for a present she could get for their oldest sister. “Probably earrings. I didn’t really find any necklaces or bracelets I’d thought she’d like.” Aria explained softly, leading her sister over to the rack of earrings she’d been looking at. “Ok.” Sonata said before helping her sister look for a pair of earrings for their oldest sister. Meanwhile, back at the toy store, Adagio’d picked out five things to get Sonata, they were all little toy animals but she knew Sonata would be happy with it. She was just leaving the store to get back in her car to go get some other things for her sisters from different stores. She’d gotten Sonata two little toy dogs, a toy cat and two toy wolves as that’s what Aria’d said Sonata liked. *10 MINUTES LATER* “Alright, let’s go to a different store and look for things for Adagio.” Aria explained to Sonata as they left the jewelry store, the bag with what they were getting Adagio in their hand. “Let’s go to the phone store you always go to, maybe we can find something in there for her.” Sonata said, taking Aria’s hand and following her older sister. “Sure. Why not, I want to get her a new case for her phone anyways.” Aria replied, gently walking down the mall in the direction of the phone store. “I want to get her a phone case to.” Sonata explained, walking beside her older sister. “Ok, we’re both getting her a phone case then.” Aria softly replied, looking over and smiling at her younger sister. “Yay!” Sonata excitedly said, returning her older sister’s smile. The two of them walked down the mall and entered the phone store when they got to it and then walked over to the rack that had the phone cases on it. “Ok, look for iPhone six s phone cases, since that’s the type of phone Adagio has.” Aria explained as she began to look through the phone cases. “Oh, ok. I thought she had the same phone as you Ari.” Sonata replied, also looking through the phone cases. “Nope, she’s got a different one.” Aria replied as they looked through the phone cases. *1 HOUR LATER* “Ok there we go. We got most of everything we were going to get for Adagio. Let’s go home now.” Aria replied as her and Sonata got back into her truck and she started it as they put on their seatbelts. “We got a lot of stuff Ari.” Sonata said, looking in the back at all the bags that were on the floor and backseat. “Yeah. Hopefully we get home before Adagio does so we can get this stuff in the house so she doesn’t see it.” Aria replied as she pulled out of the parking lot and began to drive down the road. “That was fun. But, can I have something to eat when we get home?” Sonata asked, stating she was hungry. “Sure. You can have anything you’d like.” Aria answered softly, driving along the road into town, she had to turn down a couple other ones before she’d be on the road that led out of town in the direction of their house. > Eighth Day - Horse Sleigh Ride: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Alright, we’re here.” Aria said as she parked her truck in the parking lot of a farm that was located half an hour from their house and her and her sisters got out of her truck. “What are we going to do here Ari?” Sonata asked, looking around the place, confused why they were there. “You’ll see, and you’ll love it to.” Aria explained softly, locking her truck and then walking around to stand with her sisters. The week before, Aria’d booked a sleigh ride at the farm, since the farm gave sleigh rides in the winter time. She’d booked it because they’d never done something like it before and Sonata really, really liked horses, so Aria knew it would be something she would enjoy because horses were involved. Once the three of them were ready, they all walked towards where they were to meet the owner of the farm for the sleigh ride, the owner probably already had everything ready for the sleigh ride, as they’re sleigh ride was scheduled to start at 6:15, and it was currently 6:10. “What do you see Sonata?” Aria softly asked her younger sister when the sleigh with the two horses hooked to the front of it came into view. “Horseys!” Sonata excitedly answered, pointing to the two horses hooked to the sleigh, the owner of the farm was waiting next to them and the sleigh. “Gosh Aria, you really know how to make her happy don’t you.” Adagio said from the other side of Aria. “Of course I do.” Aria replied, looking over at Adagio and then back at Sonata. “Hey girls.” the owner of the farm said once they reached him. “Hi.” Adagio and Aria said in unison, Sonata just turned to Aria and gestured that she wanted up, since she was shy around people she didn’t know. “C-Can I pet the horseys?” Sonata quietly asked once Aria’d picked her up. “Sure.” the owner answered, giving Sonata permission to pet the horses. “What are their names?” Sonata quietly asked again once she’d petted both horses. “The black one is Xavier and the brown one is Lincoln.” the owner answered, pointing to each horse as he did. “They’re pretty.” Sonata replied, looking at the two horses again. “Alright, are you three ready?” the owner asked, he was ready to start when the girls were. “We sure are.” Aria answered, they walked to the back of the sleigh so they could get in, the sleigh was really just a hay wagon. “Ok. Everyone in and then we’ll get going.” the owner explained as he climbed up to the driver’s seat. The girls got in and sat down in the hay wagon, once they were situated, the owner of the horses asked Xavier and Lincoln to walk forward and the sleigh ride began. Sonata looked at various things on the gentleman’s farm as they passed them, pointing out certain things to Aria, which made Aria happy because Sonata was obviously enjoying herself. “Dagi isn’t this fun?” Sonata asked Adagio, turning to look at her, Adagio was sitting on the other side of Adagio. “Yeah, it is.” Adagio answered, looking over at Sonata. “I know Sonata’s favorite part about this whole thing.” Aria playfully said, shooting her younger sister a smile as she looked over at her. “The horseys.” Sonata replied, looking back at the two horses, watching them pull the hay wagon. “Yeah.” Aria said, following Sonata’s gaze and also watching the horses. The three of them continued to watch the landscape go by them as the sleigh ride continued, Sonata giggling and pointing to certain things that she saw that interested her. When they passed a small pasture with other horses in it, she pointed to them and showed Aria, and tried to show Adagio, but Adagio either didn’t hear her or had just ignored her. It was fine though, because Aria got Adagio’s attention by elbowing her ribs and gesturing to the horses in the field that Sonata’d tried to show her. “I love you Ari.” Sonata whispered into Aria’s ear after turning back to look at her. “I love you to Sonata.” Aria whispered back, softly kissing her younger sister’s forehead. Sonata smiled and gently wrapped her arms around Aria’s waist to hug her older sister, Aria gently returned the hug and they hugged each other for about a minute before Sonata pushed away, since she’d grown uncomfortable with the small space the hug created. Once they were done hugging, Sonata looked past Aria at Adagio, who was looking out the other side of the hay wagon, not paying attention to the two of them. “I don’t think Dagi likes it.” Sonata quietly said to Aria, pointing to their oldest sister. “She does like it Sonata, she just doesn’t like being outside when it’s cold.” Aria softly explained after looking at Adagio. “You sure?” Sonata asked, looking up at her older sister with questioning eyes. “I can ask her if you want, but I’m fairly certain that she likes it.” Aria softly answered, gently brushing a strand of hair out of Sonata’s eyes. “Please.” Sonata replied, wanting Aria to ask Adagio if she liked the hay wagon ride. Aria nodded and then turned to face Adagio to talk to her, she gently got her attention by tapping her shoulder. “Adagio.” Aria said after tapping her shoulder. “What?” Adagio flatly asked, turning to look at Adagio. “Sonata wants to know if you like this, she thinks you don’t because of the way you’re acting.” Aria explained, gesturing to Sonata who was watching the horses again while they talked. “Aria, I already told her I liked it and that this was fun. If she’s not going to understand that then I’m not going to explain it to her again.” Adagio flatly replied, readjusting the scarf on her neck as she did. “That’s the thing Adagio. You told her you liked it and that this was fun but you’re not showing or acting like you do. That’s why she’s confused.” Aria explained again, growing annoyed with Adagio’s attitude towards Sonata. “Whatever.” Adagio said before turning back to looking where she had been before, indicating Aria wasn’t going to get anymore of an answer from her. “What’d she say?” Sonata asked when Aria turned back to her. “She said she liked it, but, don’t get upset that she’s not acting like she is, it’s just the way she is, you know that.” Aria softly answered, leaning against the side of the wagon. “You like it though right?” Sonata asked, wanting to make sure Aria liked it and would show it. “Of course I do. This is really fun and relaxing.” Aria answered, hugging Sonata gently again once Sonata allowed her to. *10 MINUTES LATER* “Alright, thanks for coming girls. I hope you had fun.” the owner said as the three of them got out of the wagon once the sleigh ride was over. “We sure did. Thanks for having us.” Aria replied as she gently lifted Sonata from the wagon and held her in her right arm while she talked to the owner. “Bye girls. Merry Christmas.” the owner said once the girls began to walk away. “Bye.” Adagio and Aria said together as they walked back towards Aria’s truck to get in and head home. “That was fun.” Sonata said happily, playing with a strand of hair from Aria’s right pigtail. “It sure was. Right Adagio?” Aria said, turning to Adagio and asking if she’d had fun, just to see what she’d say. “Yeah it was. I said I liked it three times already.” Adagio replied before walking ahead of her sisters. “Just ignore her Sonata. You and I had fun and that’s all that matters.” Aria explained to Sonata when Sonata watched Adagio leave with a hurt expression on her face. “Ok Ari.” Sonata replied, turning and resting her head on Aria’s right shoulder while Aria walked towards her truck. > Ninth Day - Making a Gingerbread House: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Aria, Sonata. Come on, let’s start the gingerbread house before I change my mind.” Adagio called to her younger sisters from the kitchen as she finished setting everything up they needed to make the gingerbread house. Aria and Sonata appeared in the kitchen a couple minutes and walked over to the table and sat down in their usual spots, joining Adagio, who was already sitting at the table, currently looking at something on her phone. “Ok, we’re ready Adagio.” Aria flatly said when Adagio didn’t set her phone down when she and Sonata sat down at the table. “Oh, there you are. I thought you’d still be a while coming downstairs.” Adagio flatly replied, setting her phone down on the table after turning off. “Why would you think that? I’m excited for this.” Sonata asked, saying she was excited about making the gingerbread house. “Well good for you then. I thought that because you two have been upstairs doing your own things since ten o’clock this morning.” Adagio flatly retaliated, staring at Sonata, who looked away from her. “Adagio! Watch it. We were upstairs wrapping presents.” Aria defensively said, explaining what she and Sonata’d been doing upstairs. She then turned to comfort Sonata. “Whatever. Anyways, let’s start this.” Adagio replied, grabbing the instructions for the gingerbread house and looking at them briefly before Sonata tried to reach across the table and grab them. “Hey! Wait your turn young lady!” Adagio spat, pulling the instructions away from Sonata’s reach. “But I want to see them!” Sonata exclaimed loudly, still leaning over the table. “Sonata, you’ll get to see them. Just let Adagio look first please.” Aria softly explained, getting Sonata’s attention. “Ok.” Sonata replied, sitting back down in her chair. Once Adagio finished reading the instructions, she handed them to Sonata so Sonata could read them and once Sonata finished reading them, they began to build the walls of the gingerbread house. Following the instructions as they did. *30 MINUTES LATER* “Ok there. Now we have to let it sit for about two to three hours before we can decorate it.” Aria explained after they got the roof on the top of the gingerbread house. “Alright, I’m going to go downstairs and play with my toys for a while then.” Sonata said, getting up and then leaving the kitchen after Aria nodded. “What was that about earlier Adagio?” Aria asked once Sonata’d left the room. “What?” Adagio asked, confused as what Aria meant. “When you got mad at Sonata for saying she was excited. There was no need for that.” Aria explained, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall beside the doorway that led to the hallway. “Well I knew she was excited and she didn’t need to say it. I just wanted to get this done because once it’s done I need to start supper.” Adagio flatly explained, grabbing her phone off the table as she stood up. “You didn’t need to yell at her either.” Aria flatly stated. “Whatever.” Adagio said before turning and beginning to walk towards the doorway that led to the living room. Aria rolled her eyes at Adagio and her attitude and then turned and left the kitchen to go back upstairs and continue wrapping presents, she could wrap some of Sonata’s now because Sonata wasn’t in her room with her. They’d both been wrapping their presents for Adagio earlier before they’d started the gingerbread house. *2 HOURS LATER* “Ok. Aria, Sonata, we can start decorating the gingerbread house now.” Adagio called to her sisters as she got some candies and the icing they were using to put them onto the gingerbread house. Almost as soon as she’d said that, she heard footsteps running down the hall and then enter the kitchen and stop, she looked up and saw Sonata coming through the doorway and sitting back down in her normal spot at the table. Aria came in a couple minutes later and sat down in her spot at the table, her and Sonata smiling at each other once she sat down at the table. “Ok. What do we want to put on the gingerbread house?” Adagio asked her sisters, showing them all the candies they had to put on the gingerbread house. “Let’s put those things on it.” Sonata said, pointing to the candy canes that were on the table. “What else?” Adagio asked after setting the candy canes aside. “How about some gumdrops and peppermints.” Aria said, pushing the two bowls towards Adagio. “Ok, I think that’s enough.” Adagio replied, moving all the other bowls of candy to the side so they could decorate the gingerbread house. “Yay!” Sonata excitedly exclaimed before they began to decorate the gingerbread house. *45 MINUTES LATER* “Alright, we’re done.” Adagio said once they’d put the last candy on the gingerbread house. “It looks pretty.” Sonata said, looking at the now completely finished gingerbread house. “It does.” Aria replied, looking over and smiling at Sonata. “Ok. I’m going to put this over on the counter and start supper. I suppose you two are going to go back to what you were doing before.” Adagio explained as she carefully grabbed the gingerbread house and walked over to the counter to set it down. “Yeah, we certainly are.” Aria replied, both her and Sonata getting up from their chairs to go do what they’d each been doing before. > Tenth Day - Wrapping Christmas Presents: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was currently 1:15 in the afternoon on December 23rd, Sonata and Aria were currently in Aria’s room finishing up wrapping presents, and Adagio was in her room wrapping presents for her sisters. Sonata was sitting on Aria’s bedroom floor wrapping presents for her oldest sister, and Aria was wrapping presents on her bed for both her sisters, since she was able to wrap Sonata’s presents since Sonata was currently distracted. Every few minutes, Aria looked up to check on her younger sister and see how she was doing and if she needed any help with wrapping her presents. “Ari.” Sonata said after looking at the small things she had for Adagio, wondering what to do with them. “What?” Aria softly asked, looking up at her younger sister to see what she wanted. “What am I going to do with all these small things that I got for Dagi?” Sonata asked, pointing to the pile of smaller things beside her. “You’ll just put them in her stocking, I’m going to do the same thing with the small things I got her.” Aria softly explained as she finished wrapping one of Sonata’s presents and set the name thing on it and wrote who it was for and that it was from her. “What’s happening at one thirty today that I you and Dagi were talking about this morning at breakfast?” Sonata asked again, watching her older sister grab something she’d gotten for Adagio and set it on her bed so she could wrap it. “What’s happening is you’re going to go into Adagio’s room and wrap presents in there until two.” Aria softly answered as she began to wrap the present that was currently in front of her that was for Adagio. “Oh ok.” Sonata replied before turning back to finish wrapping the present she was currently wrapping. *15 MINUTES LATER* “Ok Aria, I’ll take her now.” Adagio said as she opened Aria’s bedroom door slightly and explained she was ready for Sonata to come with her now. “Alright, she’s grabbing what she was using to wrap presents” Aria replied, saying Sonata was coming shortly. Adagio waited outside Aria’s bedroom for Sonata, who appeared in the hallway and shut Aria’s bedroom door behind her a couple minutes later. “Ok. Where did you put the stuff you bought for Aria?” Adagio asked once Sonata was standing in front of her and looking at her. “In my closet in my bedroom, since she doesn’t normally go in there.” Sonata answered, pointing down the hall in the direction of her bedroom. “Let’s go get that stuff then and we’ll bring it into my room and I’ll help you wrap it.” Adagio explained, beginning to walk towards Sonata’s bedroom which was back down the hall in the direction of the stairs. She only allowed Sonata in her room if she was in there with her and gave Sonata permission. “Ok.” Sonata replied, following Adagio down the hall to her bedroom. Adagio and Sonata entered Sonata’s room and walked over to the closet and opened it, Adagio proceeded to grab the bags full of stuff that Sonata’d bought Aria the week before. The two of them exited Sonata’s room, closed her bedroom door behind them and then walked back down the hall towards Adagio’s bedroom, which was across the hall from Aria’s. “Now remember. I have one rule when you’re in my room that you don’t have when you’re in Aria’s room.” Adagio explained as they stopped in front of her bedroom door, “no touching anything, just sit on the floor and wrap your presents.” she finished, turning to look at Sonata before she did. “Ok Dagi. Will you help me wrap her presents?” Sonata asked, saying she understood the major rule of Adagio’s room. “If you need help I’ll help you but I need to wrap the things I got Aria to.” Adagio answered as she opened her bedroom door and stepped inside. Sonata slowly walked into Adagio’s room and then shut the door behind her, she then walked over to where Adagio’d set her presents on the floor and sat down beside them so she could start wrapping them. Once Sonata was situated, Adagio walked back over to her bed to continue wrapping the presents she had for Aria, she’d finished Sonata’s already, they were sitting in her closet. “Dagi what do I do with the clothes I got her? And the new blanket I got Ari?” Sonata asked, looking up at Adagio a few minutes later. “Put the shirts in this box, the hoodies in this one and the blanket in this one. Then just tape the box and then wrap it and put Aria’s name on it.” Adagio explained without looking up at Sonata, she just passed her three small boxes she could put stuff for Aria in. “So, just use these three boxes for her shirts, hoodies and blanket?” Sonata asked, since she was slightly confused with how Adagio’s explained things to her. “Yes. That’s what you’re supposed to do.” Adagio replied, glancing over her shoulder at her youngest sister. “Ok.” Sonata said before busying herself with wrapping Aria’s presents. It was now 1:38 in the afternoon. *22 MINUTES LATER* “How’s it going in here?” Aria asked as she opened Adagio’s bedroom door and peeked her head in, she was now done wrapping all her presents. “Ari.” Sonata excitedly said when she looked up and saw her older sister. “Hey you. Are you done?” Aria replied, asking if Sonata was done wrapping her presents. “Yeah. I just have to take these back to my room.” Sonata explained, getting up and grabbing the presents on the floor in front of her to take them to her room. “Just put them under the tree Sonata. They’re done being wrapped.” Aria softly said, telling her sister where to put her presents. “Oh ok.” Sonata replied, carefully walking out of Adagio’s room and heading down the hall towards the stairs to take the presents down to the living room and put them under the tree. “I’ll wait here for you. Then we can either chill in my room or downstairs in the living room.” Aria said when Sonata walked past her. “Ok Ari.” Sonata said before continuing to walk. Aria closed Adagio’s bedroom door and leaned on the wall beside it while she waited for Sonata to come back upstairs, when Sonata came back a couple minutes later, she gently wrapped her arms around Aria’s shoulders and smiled at her older sister. Aria returned her smile and softly kissed her forehead, gently hugging her back. “Ok. Do you want to relax in my room or downstairs in the living room?” Aria softly asked after they finished hugging each other. “In your room.” Sonata answered, pointing across the hall to Aria’s bedroom door. “Alright, come on then.” Aria replied, walking across the hall to her bedroom, with Sonata following behind her. > Eleventh Day - Enjoying Christmas Eve: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was currently 12:15 in the afternoon on December 24th, it was Christmas eve, Adagio was currently in the living room vacuuming and Aria and Sonata were both upstairs. Aria was busy putting away the clothes she’d washed for Sonata earlier that day back in her dresser and Sonata was playing with some of the toys that were in her bedroom. Aria glanced over her shoulder every few minutes to check on her younger sister and then went back to putting away Sonata’s clothes when she saw how Sonata was doing. Sonata looked up at her older and protective sister and watched as she finished putting away her clothes, smiling at her older sister when Aria turned to face her after shutting the drawer that Sonata’s undergarments went in. “Ari can you come with me downstairs to the basement? I want to play with my toys.” Sonata asked, explaining she wanted to play with her toys. “Yeah I can come with you, just let me go grab my phone from my room and then we can go downstairs.” Aria softly answered, returning her younger sister’s smile before turning and walking over to her bedroom door. “I’m coming with you.” Sonata said, getting up and following Aria out of her bedroom, closing her door behind her. Aria and Sonata walked down the hall to Aria’s bedroom and into Aria’s room once Aria opened the door, they then walked into her room and Aria grabbed her phone off of her iHome, which it was currently sitting on because it was charging. After she’d grabbed her phone, she turned to face her sister, who smiled at her and then gestured that she wanted to be carried. “Ok, I’ll carry you down there.” Aria said, gently picking up her younger sister and walking out of her room once Sonata had her arms and legs wrapped around Aria’s shoulders and lower waist. Aria gently closed her bedroom door when she exited and then walked back down the hallway, past Sonata’s bedroom and to the stairs which she descended when she reached them. After reaching the main floor, she walked all the way down the hallway and then turned right and walked down the basement stairs into the basement. Once she was in the basement, Aria walked across the main area to the door that lead into Sonata’s playroom and opened it when she got to it. “Alright, here we are. Now, do you want me to sit in here or out in the main area?” Aria asked as she gently set Sonata down once they’d entered her playroom and she turned on the light. “Stay in here.” Sonata answered. “Ok. I can do that.” Aria replied before walking over and sitting down on the small two-person couch in Sonata’s playroom. Sonata walked over to where all of her toy bins were and grabbed the one that had all her toy horses in it and sat down on her playroom floor so she could play with her toy horses. Aria watched her for a couple minutes before kicking her feet up onto the couch and lounging on it as she turned on her phone and unlocked it. Once her home screen came on, she went to her Instagram to check it, looking over at Sonata every few minutes to check on her. *2 HOURS LATER* It was now 2:30 in the afternoon and all three girls were now sitting in the living room, Adagio in her recliner, Aria on the couch and Sonata sitting on Aria’s lap. Adagio glanced up at the clock on the TV from the fashion magazine she was reading to check the time and decided she might as well go look for something to make for dinner. She closed her magazine and set it down on the arm of her chair and pushed down the foot recliner on her chair and stood up, Sonata turned to watch her for a few seconds while Adagio stretched. The TV currently had one of the cartoon channels on it, as Sonata was watching her cartoons while Aria played on her phone, looking up at the TV every few minutes as she often did when Sonata watched her cartoons. “I’m going to go look for something to make for supper.” Adagio said to her younger sisters once she finished stretching her arms. “Cool. Make sure it’s something she’ll eat and that she can eat.” Aria replied without looking up, gesturing to Sonata for the second part of her sentence. “Yeah I know.” Adagio said before turning and walking through the doorway that led from the living room to the kitchen, rolling her eyes as she did. “Ari.” Sonata said as she gently wrapped her arms around Aria’s shoulders and rested her head on Aria’s right shoulder while still watching her cartoons on the TV. “What?” Aria softly asking, looking down at her younger sister to see what she needed. “I love you.” Sonata sweetly replied, looking up and smiling at her older sister. “I love you to.” Aria softly said, gently kissing Sonata’s forehead after returning her smile. “What’s tomorrow Nata?” Aria asked a couple minutes later after Sonata’d looked back at the TV. “Christmas.” Sonata excitedly answered, looking back at Aria. “Yeah. Are you excited?” Aria softly asked again as she turned off her phone and set it on the side table beside the couch. “Yes. I can’t wait to see the presents under the tree.” Sonata replied, looking back at the TV to continue watching her cartoons. *5 HOURS LATER* It was now 7:35 in the evening and the girls were all sitting in the living room, in the same spots they had been earlier, Adagio was flipping through the TV channels looking for something to watch, while Aria and Sonata were looking at something on Aria’s phone. Sonata looked up and watched Adagio for a couple minutes and then turned to look at her oldest sister, deciding to try and talk to her. “Dagi.” Sonata said to get her oldest sister’s attention. “What?” Adagio asked flatly, turning to look at her youngest sister. “Are you excited for tomorrow?” Sonata asked, pointing to the Christmas tree to get her point across. “Oh, yeah I am.” Adagio answered before turning back to the TV and continuing to flip through the channels. “Ooh that’s pretty Ari.” Sonata said, pointing to the thing that was currently on her older sister’s phone screen. “Yeah. I don’t really know what it is but it’s pretty.” Aria replied, letting her Sonata look at what was on her phone screen for a couple minutes. “So, what’s the plan for tomorrow?” Aria asked a couple minutes later. “Um, wake up at seven and open everything, then just do our regular daily things and then maybe go into town for dinner.” Adagio explained, slightly glancing over at her younger sisters for a second and then back at the TV. “Eee! I’m excited!” Sonata excitedly exclaimed, turning and looking at her oldest sister. “Yeah, I figured that.” Adagio replied without looking over. “Ari can we watch something on your phone?” Sonata asked, turning back to look at her older sister. “Sure, do you want to watch it upstairs in my room?” Aria asked, going out of her Instagram and switching to her Netflix. “Yeah.” Sonata replied, getting up off of Aria’s lap so Aria could get up off of the couch. “Alright let’s go.” Aria said after she stood up and pushed in the small foot recliner on their side of the couch. Her and Sonata then headed upstairs to her bedroom. > Twelfth Day - Christmas Morning: > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Morning girls.” Adagio said, entering the living room, seeing that Aria and Sonata were already awake. “Hi Dagi!” Sonata excitedly said, she was currently sitting on Aria’s lap, looking up at Adagio and smiling at her. “Hi.” Adagio replied, she always found it a little weird that Sonata got so excited to see either her or Aria when she saw them all the time. “Do you want to grab the stockings off the wall while you’re standing there so we can start with them?” Aria asked her, setting her phone down on the side table as she pointed to the stockings hanging on the wall beside the Christmas tree. “Sure.” Adagio answered, walking over, grabbing the stockings and then walking over to the couch to give her younger sister’s stockings to them. “Here.” she added as she handed them to Aria and Sonata. “Thanks.” Sonata replied, taking her stocking from Adagio’s left hand. “Sonata, why don’t you sit right here. It’ll be easier for both of us to open our presents and stockings that way.” Aria softly explained, patting the couch cushion beside her, indicating for Sonata to sit there while Adagio walked over and sat down in her recliner. “Ok Ari.” Sonata said, doing as Aria’d said and moving to sit beside her. “Who wants to go first?” Adagio asked, even though she figured she probably already knew the answer. “I do.” Sonata instantly answered the second Adagio finished talking. “Go for it then.” Adagio flatly replied. Sonata nodded and then flipped her stocking upside down so she could dump what was in it out on her lap, what fell out of Sonata’s stocking were some new anxiety/stress reliever toys, 3 new toy horses, 3 new toy animals and some stickers that were from Aria and some colored pencils, some hair elastics, some hair ribbons and 3 more toy animals that Adagio’d gotten her. “Ooh! I like this stuff. Thanks Ari.” Sonata said, turning and hugging her older sister tightly once she saw everything that had been in her stocking. “You’re welcome, but Adagio got you some of it to, don’t forget that.” Aria softly whispered into Sonata’s ear, gently hugging her back. “Oh, right. Thanks Dagi.” Sonata said, turning to look at Adagio to thank her for the stuff she’d put in her stocking. “Yeah, you’re welcome.” Adagio replied without looking over, she was distracted by something underneath one of her nails on her hand. “Ok. Ari’s turn.” Sonata said, letting go of Aria so she could open her own stocking. “Alright, let’s see what’s in here.” Aria said as she emptied her stocking by pulling each thing out individually. What Aria pulled out of her own stocking were some new sketching pencils, a phone case, a ‘sisters’ bracelet and a box for it from Sonata and some hair clips, some bracelets, a phone case and an app card for her phone from Adagio. “Hmm, who got me this I wonder?” Aria teasingly asked Sonata, holding up the bracelet Sonata’d gotten her. “I did.” Sonata replied, smiling at her older sister. “Well, thank you. Same to you Adagio.” Aria said, saying thank you to her sisters as she put everything back in her stocking except the phone case from Sonata, which she put on her phone, it said “SECURITY - Little sister protection squad” on it. “Ok, Dagi’s turn.” Sonata excitedly said, turning to look at Adagio. “Yeah, yeah I’m going.” Adagio flatly replied, causing Sonata to scoot a little closer to Aria. “Calm down, she’s just excited.” Aria said defiantly, immediately defending Sonata. “Whatever.” Adagio said, rolling her eyes as she opened her stocking and took things out of it. She pulled out a phone case, two earring pairs, a bracelet and an app card that she found out were from Aria, and some chocolate coins, a phone case, some scented body spray and the necklace Sonata’d picked out earlier in the week for her at the jewelry store, all were from Sonata. “Huh, thanks you two.” Adagio said after looking over her stuff, more focused on the pieces of jewelry. “You’re welcome.” Sonata replied, watching as Adagio gently set things on the side table beside her recliner. “Alright now we can do presents. Sonata, go get one present from under the tree with each of our names’ on it.” Aria softly explained, pointing to the presents under the tree. “Aww, we only get to open one?” Sonata asked, slightly confused and upset if what she’d said was true. “No we’ll open them all, we’re just going to do one at a time so it’s easier.” Aria softly explained, from behind Sonata, Adagio rolled her eyes, since it took common sense to figure it out. “Oh ok.” Sonata replied happily as she got up and walked over to the tree to get presents. *45 MINUTES LATER* It was currently 7:56 in the morning and the girls had all the presents opened, Sonata was looking at all of the new boxes with toys in them that she’d gotten, Aria was looking over some of the shirts she’d gotten and Adagio was on her phone, checking her social media. “Ari can you open this?” Sonata asked, handing Aria one of the boxes of toy horses Aria’d given her. “Yeah, just wait here, I’ll go get some scissors to cut the tape on the side of the box.” Aria answered as she moved the stuff on her lap so she could get up. “Ok.” Sonata replied, watching Aria get up to leave and grab scissors. “Watch her really quick.” Aria said to Adagio as she walked past her recliner, towards the doorway to the kitchen. “Yeah, sure. Whatever.” Adagio flatly said without looking up from her phone. Aria walked through the doorway to go get some scissors from the kitchen, since they kept them in one of the drawers. While she was gone, Sonata looked at some of the other toys she’d gotten, picking up a box with two cows in it that Adagio’d gotten her, deciding she’d get Aria to open it as well when she came back. Aria came back about a minute later with a pair of scissors in her hand and walked over and sat back down on the couch. “Can you open this one to?” Sonata asked as Aria began to open the box of toys she wanted opened. “Yeah, I’m just going to open them all for you.” Aria softly answered, looking up briefly to see which box Sonata’d meant. “Thanks.” Sonata replied, watching her sister open the box for her so she could have her toys that were in it. “I’m going to go start breakfast.” Adagio announced as she stood up from her recliner and set her phone down on the arm of it. “Cool.” Aria nonchalantly said without looking up from what she was doing. “Dagi can you make waffles?” Sonata asked, turning to look at her oldest sister for a second. “Sure, if you want.” Adagio answered, saying she’d make waffles. “Yeah.” Sonata excitedly said, smiling at her oldest sister, even though she knew it wouldn’t get returned. “Ok.” Adagio said before walking through the doorway and into the kitchen. Aria got all of Sonata’s boxes of toys opened a few minutes later and gave all her sister’s toys to her so she could play with them, once she was done that, she grabbed her phone a quickly checked her SnapChat before going back to look at her stuff she’d just gotten that morning.
