> Not Our Sunset > by YellowHornIsAGirl > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Moving To Canterlot City > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I approached the door to my mother's house. I had just moved here from Manhattan after my dad was convicted of thirteen counts of robbery and three counts of murder. I took a breath before knocking three times. Exactly five seconds later, a woman who looked around forty answered the door. She stared at me for a few seconds before letting me in. "Welcome," She smiled, "You must be my daughter. It's nice to finally meet you, come in." “Yeah, yeah,” I mumbled, “Where do I sleep? It’s been a long ride.” “The door without a mark on it,” She smiled, “Do you need anything to eat?” “I’m fine,” I replied, “I just feel like sitting alone with my music.” “Oh, okay,” She smiled, “If you need anything, just ask me.” “Thanks,” I smiled back before heading through the house to a bare white door in a row of three. The other two each had a sun and a moon on it. I opened up the door and walked in, noticing how bare it was. Other than a few… wait. These are Marshmello pillows. I had a feeling she knew about my love for EDM. Surprising, since she never cared for me before now. I shrugged it off and pulled my phone out and putting my earbuds in. I scrolled for a bit before stumbling on ‘Friends.’ I clicked on it and laid back, closing my eyes. What felt like a few minutes later, but was probably more due to the fact that we were somewhere in ‘Joytime II.’ I woke up to a knocking on the door. The door opened slightly, revealing a blue woman, who looked younger than my mother by a few years. “My sister wishes to see you,” She told me, “I’d advise that you listen to her.” “What makes you think I wouldn’t?” I asked, offended. “You haven’t the best history,” She deadpanned, “Running away, ten counts of assault and caught with drugs more than once.” “Fair point,” I replied, “Alright, I’ll be out in a minute.” “Thank you,” She smiled, “I’d hate to see my sister on another rampage.” “Another?” I raised my eyebrow. She looked at me and giggled before stepping out. I picked up my jacket, which I had thrown on the floor before lying down. I threw it over my shoulder and stepped out the room. I took a right turn, heading down the hall to the living room. The house was nicely sized, having three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The living room was directly connected to every room, not including bedrooms. I stepped into the living room. My mother was sitting on a white couch next to the woman who had entered my room. My mother motioned towards a chair sitting next to a window, only about two feet from the couch. I sat down, instantly being absorbed by it. “So,” My mother said, “I would like to say that we’ve already enrolled at Canterlot High. Oh, and don’t think about skipping, I know every inch of the school, being the principal and all.” “WHAT?!” I exclaimed in shock. They did what? “Yes,” The blue female said, “You will be going to Canterlot High. We’ve examined all of your previous classes and made a schedule for you. Here is a copy. Tell us if you would like to change anything.” She handed me a sheet of paper, which I examined. I had Astronomy first period, then English III followed by Spanish III, Calculus, Show Band, History, Show Choir and finally Technology. “It’s fine” I told them. My mother nodded approvingly, giving a faint smile. The rest of the day was pretty basic. I had gone back to my room and set up my laptop, which I had bought  couple years back. A BigMacBook Air. It ran pretty well for being from 2015. I opened Pony-S Streaming and started a stream. I opened my most commonly streamed game, Team Fortress 2. It loaded up and viewers came rolling in. I entered a competitive game full of noobs as usual. I mained spy, making the game so much more easier for me. Then, the wfi crashed. “Fuck!” I shouted, slamming my laptop shut. I should’ve known we ran off of cheap wifi. I pulled out my phone and made a tweet about it before attempting to call my best friend, Adagio Dazzle. After a few seconds she answered. “Sunny Bunny!” She smiled cheerily, her face popping up on the screen. I smiled and waved. “What’s up Dagi?” I asked. “Oh, nothing,” She said, “Just Sony and Ari finally kissed!” “Those two finally fell in love?” I giggled, “I’m surprised.” “Screw you Sunset!” A voice yelled from across Dagi’s apartment. This voice was Aria Blaze, or Ari as we called her. I heard a giggle from close to Ari. “Sunny!” A bright blue blur jumped next to Dagi. This was Sonata, or Sony. Aria sat on the other side of Adagio who sighed and drooped her head. “Well,” Dagi smiled, “How’s it on your end.” “Shitty WiFi,” I replied, “Mother chose all my classes, mother is principal and so much more shit. But other than that, fine.” “Damn,” Ari laughed, “Must suck. Out here we totally have top speed WiFi and stream sub counts of over ten thousand.” “Screw off,” I replied, giggling, “It’s nice to talk to you all. You should come visit Canterlot sometime.” “Ooh!” Sony said, jumping in front of the camera , “We totally should!” “I think that would be wonderful…” Dagi replied, shoving her away, “But how would we? You know how my mother is. She still gets tense whenever Ari and Sony come over.” “You’re mom sucks” I told her. “No duh,” Dagi replied, “I mea-” My phone died. Of all the fucking things, my phone died. I threw my phone against the wall before lying down on the Marshmello pillow. This was gonna be a long week. And it didn’t help that I hated my mom more than anything on this planet. > First Day > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My eyes fluttered open to the sound of wood being dragged against carpet. The source of the noise was a forty year old woman with a bright smile on her face. “Morning,” She smiled warmly, “We have to be to work in half an hour, so it’s time you get up.” “Fuck,” I moaned, “Why can't it wait until tomorrow?” “First off, watch your mouth,” Her smile dropped, “Second off, because I told you too. And as your mother, I require you to go to school.” “Fine,” I replied, “Just let me change into somethin’ else. This shirt is sweaty and smell like dirty socks.” “Like I said, “ She smiled, “Thirty minutes. Oh, and I would recommend the yellow t-shirt with the black leather jacket. Oh, and the blue skinny jeans.” “Wait, what?” I asked, confused at what she meant. “It’s in the closet” She pointed towards the door to the left before leaving my room. I opened the closet. “Woah” I stared. It was a full walk in closet. There were dresses, skirts, jackets and pants everywhere. It even included a fine selection of boots. “This must be heaven” I stared even longer. I couldn’t help it, everything in here was amazing. I stopped staring and looked for the clothing my mother had mentioned. It wasn’t too hard to find, as it had been hung up together, including the pants. “She planned it” I moaned. I took the clothes I was wearing off, revealing a nicely curved body. I gave myself a flashy grin before throwing on the shirt and pants. I giggled and threw the jacket over my shoulder before stepping out of the closet. I picked my phone up and headed out my bedroom. As soon as I stepped out, I smelled something faint as if something were burning. Like, pancakes. “LUNA!” Oh, that’s why. I walked into the kitchen to find Luna and my mother arguing over burnt pancakes. “You rushed my pancakes, sister!” Luna yelled. “You shouldn’t have been making them twenty minutes before work!” Mother fired back. “They don’t take that long to cook!”  Luna yelled back. The continued this for a few more minutes before I butted in. “Hey, you two!” I caught their attention, “Don’t we have somewhere to go? I mean, I don’t wanna go to school, but I also don't want to hear you argue.” “She’s right, Luna,” Celestia took a breath, “We should get going, even if you burnt the most simple thing in the world to cook.” “I’m sorry you were rushing me!” Luna, still upset about her pancakes continued to yell. I sighed as the argument continued. This is gonna be a really long day. After we arrived five minutes late, my mother decided she would dragged me to my first class. “Now, Sunset,” She looked me in the eyes, “I understand you don’t like school and have a bad record of skipping. So I’m going to warn you this; I find out you skipped, and I will find out, you will hate me for the rest of your life.” Already done, I thought. I nodded before she walked off. After a few moments I walked into the classroom. The entire class looked up and stared at me like they were looking into my soul. Except one girl who was sill jotting down notes. Either that or drawing. She had lavender skin and blueish hair with a pink stripe through it. She even had a weird jewel around her neck baring a strange symbol. “Ah, class,” The teacher, a male with a long gray beard smiled, “This is our new student. Would you care to introduce yourself?” “My name is Sunset,” I told them, “Sunset Shimmer.” The girl looked up before going back to her note book. What a nerd. But cute. Bad Sunset! I thought, she probably isn’t even into girls! “Take a seat next to Twilight,” He told me, “The lavender one.” I nodded and did as I was told. As I sat down she gave me a crumpled piece of paper. I opened and read it: Look for me during lunch. I’ll be sitting with five other girls. I nodded and crumpled the note back up. I wonder what she wants, I thought, Maybe she wants to rob me. Or beat me up. Or maybe she’s nice and wants a friendly chat during lunch. Either way, I might show up. And that was the last thought for a while. That was, until lunch. Lunch was just some slop the lunch lady put together, which I expected. After taking my tray, I looked around for that girl from earlier. I eventually found her sitting at a small table in the back. I began my stride towards her, but as soon as I turned a corner I ran head first into some loser who, like me hadn’t been paying attention. He had spiked blue hair and wore a crappy leather jacket. “Hey!” I stumbled down, spilling my tray of food all over his t-shirt. “No!” He cried, “My new t-shir- Wait, Sunset? Didn’t you go back to Eque-” His mouth was covered by a lavender hand which belonged to the same girl I had just seen across the cafeteria. “Hi Flash!” She fake smiled, obviously hiding something, “Why don’t you go clean your shirt! I’m going to take her over to the girls, okay?” “Sure, but-” He was cut off when Twilight dragged me all the way over to the same table I had just seen her sitting at.There were five girls sitting there. One was pink with pink hair, one was blue with rainbow hair, another was white with purple hair, a fourth had orange skin and wore a stetson fedora over her blonde hair and the last one was pale yellow and was hiding behind her light pink hair. “So, who are all of you?’ I asked, curious to why this girl would drag me all the way over here. “Ah’m Applejack,” The one with the fedora said, “And this is Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy an’ the one who brought you here is Twilight.” “Ahd we need to discuss something with you,” Twilight let go of my arm. “Alright, throw it at me” I was curious. “Well you see-” Rainbow was cut off by Pinkie who put her finger against her mouth. “You see, we met your doppelganger from another dimension where everybody is a pony. Recently, she went back home and the portal to her home is now closed, meaning all of our magic powers that were held in these crystals around our necks are gone. But Twilight here has a theory that if we found the other Sunset Shimmer we could reopen the portal to Equestria, giving us our powers and best friend back!” Pinkie smiled. “This school is weird.” > An Eventful Afternoon > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “So, wait you were serious?!” I was dumbfounded by the video they had shown me. It had them literally growing wings and using magic! “Now, now sugarcube,” Applejack put her hands up, “Ain’ no reason to freak out. Ah mean, look at us six. We’ve each fought our own villian. But that don’ mean you gotta fight one.” “Ain’t no reason to freak out?!” I was freaking out, “Literal fucking magic! Are you insane! You don’t know how groundbreaking this could be!” “And no one can know,” Rainbow stepped in, “If anybody from out of CHS finds out, we’ll have government agents all over!” “The school will get shut down!” Rarity told me, “And we can’t have that. Especially if we get the portal fixed because then we’ll have the government invading Equestria.” “Just, please,” Twilight put her hand on my shoulder, “We want our friend back. We want Sunset back.” “I don’t care about your Sunset!” I smacked her hand off, “I don’t need some doppelganger going around this school! I just wanna live a normal life!” “Just ple-” I shoved her to the ground, running off. I didn’t need nor want this. God damn, why did my stupid mother have to be alive! Why couldn’t she have been dead like my dad said. This neve would’ve happened if my dad hadn’t ommited those stupid crimes! “Hey!” A cracky female voice yelled. “What do you want, Rainbow Dash?” I asked, turning to her.She was clearly angry about me pushing Twilight over. “Listen,” She grabbed me by the nek of my shirt, “I don’t like you at all. Especially after that, but we need you.Our best friend is gone, can you please help us?” She let my shirt go and looked at me in the eyes. Her friends appeared behind, all except Twilight and Rarity. “I-is she okay?” I asked them. Applejacked stared at me dead in the eyes and said, “Migh’ jus’ be a minor cuncussion, sugarcube. Ah’m sure she’ll be fine. Rarity took her to the nurse. But you on the other hand need to tell us whether or not ya wanna help us.” “Listen,” I looked at them, “I never wanted to move to Canterlot City. I was fine in Manhattan until my dad was arrested. Now I’ll never see him again. But if it’ll get you six off my back then I’ll hel-” “SUNSET SHIMMER TO MY OFFICE NOW!” My mother’s voice rang across the entire school. “Ya might wanna go, sugarcube,” Applejack put her hand on my shoulder, “I’d hate to make her angry.” “Too late for that” looked down at the ground before walking off. Her office wasn’t too far from the cafeteria, but since I didn’t really know my way around the school, it took me a bit. I stopped in front of her office before opening the door and walking in. She was sitting there, in an unamused position. “First day and already in my office,” She spoke up, “Sit down, we need to talk.” “I know I screwed up,” I looked down at my feet, “And honestly, I don’t care.” “What?” She looked at me with a fierce intensity in her eyes, “So you shove down a student and feel no remorse? I’ll have you know that her parents could sue me and the school in an instant! Her brother is a cop and could be on you in seconds, and you still feel no remorse?” “Nope!” I took and defiant step forward, “And you know why? Because where I grew up, no one cared! So why should I? That’s how I was raised, and that’s how it’ll always be! So why don’t you sit the fuck down and leave me alone! You think I wanted to move here?! No! So fuck off you dumb bitch! You left me with my shitty dad in Manhattan to pursue a career in education!” “Sunset, I-” I ran off before she could continue. I stopped and sat against a wall, tearing up. I noticed someone sitting down next to me. “Hey” It was Twilight. “What do you want?” I asked. “I want to know what’s wrong,” She lifted my chin, looking into my eyes, “C’mon Sunset, I’m great at listening.” “J-just go,” I put my head back into my knees, “It’s not important.” “Tell me Sunset,” She picked my chin up again, “I kinda feel like a jerk for making you feel like we were using you in the first place. We should’ve phrased it more clearly. We want to get to know you and become friends, but we also want to see the Sunset Shimmer from the other world.” “R-really?” She nodded, “You’re the first person that has ever cared in my life. Thank you.” “Of course,” She smiled, “Now mind telling me what’s wrong?” “My mother, when I was five had decided to leave,” I began, clearing my throat, “She and my father got into a fight because she wanted to continue a career in education, but the best place she could go was here. She left me to my dad, who raised me. I only saw my mother for the first time in 10-11 years yesterday.” “Your mother is a teacher?” She asked. “No,” I replied, “She’s the Principal.” > The Dazzlings > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight had invited me and our friends over to her house to go over the notes she had drawn up. The notes were surprisingly simple. All we had to do was use our instruments and voices to generate enough power to jumpstart this amulet thing. But there were two things missing. One was a vocal range of baritone to soprano. That and a magical object and a creature from that world. That’s what we were missing now. “Where are we gonna get that?” Rainbow asked. “Honestly I do- Wait!” Rarity exclaimed, “The Dazzlings! If we could get them to help us, we could maybe jumpstart the machine!” “You mean Adagio Dazzle, Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze?” I asked, “What do you mean, magical beings? I’ve known them my entire life. Trust me, they’re humans.” “You must be talking about this world’s version of them,” Twilight said, “But that’s actually really useful information. Maybe we could have them all meet up with each other and do an-” “Not happening, Twi” I cut her off. She was not doing an experiment on my friends. “But wait, those three ran off a while ago,” Rarity said, “Where would they have gone?” “I may or may not have followed them home after investigating that band competition of yours,” Twilight said, “They went into this abandoned apartment building on the corner of Canterlot and White.” “Hey,” Applejack said, “Ain’ that where Pony Sunset used ta live?” “That place was wretched,” Rarity said. “What scared of spiders?” Rainbow teased. “No, they're just icky,” Rarity said, “Besides, weren’t you the one who made Applejack kill a spider because you were scared?” “You promised not to talk about it!” Rainbow whined. “Okay, like shut up,” I moaned, “You’re starting to piss me off.” “Ah’d just let ‘em be,” AJ put her hand on my shoulder, “They fight like this all the time. I reckon Rainbow will try to get Pinkie to back her up and Pinkie will just stop ‘em.” “Hey, Pinks!” Rainbow called, “Come help me prove a point.” “Actually, Rainbow,” Pinkie put her hand on her shoulder, “I think you should stop and try talking to someone like I don’t know me?” “But Pinkie-” “She’s right, darling,” Rarity slumped, “We should relax. It was pretty immature for us to argue like that.” “Told ya,” I slumped. We approached the old apartment buildings. Pinkie had a wide grin across her face as she bounced towards the building. He had just finished telling us how she and Sonata had been friends for a while now. It had started after the battle of the bands. And, obviously, Rainbow was jealous. “So you’re trying to tell me you’re going out with her?” Rainbow questioned her. “No!” Pinkie bounced, “I would never cheat on you!” “Cheat?” I mused. “Pinkie and RD have been in a relationship for two months now,” Rarity said, “Honestly darling, you’re so bad at relationships. I mean, look at you. You can’t even ask out the girl you like.” My face lit up, “What?! I do not know what you are talking about.” “You’re lying, darling,” She said, “You blushed and you divided conjunctions. So tell me who it is. Is it Applejack? Me? Derpy? Oh, it’s Twilight, isn’t it?” My face grew even brighter. “Knew it,” Rarity giggled, “Honestly, you are bad at this. Just tell her how you feel, it’s not like she’s going to hate you.” “You sure?” I asked. “Definitely” She smiled. We shut our mouths after that. We had eventually stopped outside the old building. “Sony!” Pinkie called, “Are you in there!” “Coming!” A voice replied. After a couple minutes, a blue girl appeared. She was dressed in a black sweater and blue jeans. Is this really Sonata? “Pinkie didn’t we agree-” She was shoved to the side by an orange haired girl. This was Adagio. I could tell by the hair. Even my Adagio had that hairstyle. Holy shit. “Sunset Shimmer!” She ran up to me and grabbed me by the throat, “Are you here to finish what you started? If so, I will stop you now.” “Wait, Dagi!” Pinkie grabbed her arm, “That’s not the same Sunset! She’s from this world!” She let go, “Sorry.” “Pony Sunset must’ve really screwed you over,” I told her. “You have no idea,” Adagio smirked, “So what brings you out here.” “We need your help,” Pinkie told her. “What is it?” Adagio groaned. “In exchange for helping us,” Rainbow said, “You’ll have free access back to Equestria. What we need you to do is bring us the pieces of the jewels. That and we need you to sing.” “Okay," Adagio shrugged. No arguing. Nothing. This place is nuts. > Bland Practice > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- “So here’s the plan,” Twi said, “If we can power it with just enough friendship and electricity we should be able to power the machine. Either that or explode and kill us all.” “Fantastic,” I said, sarcastically, “So not only are we opening a portal across dimensions, we could die in the process!” “We’ve faced worse,” Rainbow smirked, “Plus we have three girls who understand this now.” “So we’re putting our lives on the line,” I smirked, “Alright Cutie Twi, work your magic.” Shit, “What did you call me?” “N-nothing!” I blushed, “Let’s just do this.” “Hold on!” Pinkie said, “I think my hi-hat is set to snare.” She gave it a light tap, and it wasn’t. It sounded exactly like a hi-hat. Why did she buy the electric kit? “C’mon Pinkie!” Rainbow moaned. “It’s a new electric set,” Pinkie gave Rainbow her “meanie-pants” face, “What did you think was gonna happen? I was going to be used to it right away?” “Y’know,” Adagio said, “I’m getting tired of this, can we just play? I’m getting bored.” “Shut the fuck up!” Twi snapped, “All of you! Stop it!” “FIne!” Rainbow raised her pick, “One, two, three!”  We've just got the day to get ready And there's only so much time to lose Because tonight, Yeah, we're here to party So let's think of something fun to do We don't know What's gonna happen We just know It's gonna feel right All our friends are here And it's time to ignite the lights! The gems and Twi’s bag both glowed, but only for a sec. “It kinda worked!” She ran over to her bag and pulled out a weird book. “Sunset wrote back!” She jumped, “It reads:  Dear girls, I’m happy to announce that I’m getting married. I know you probably won’t ever see this, but me and Princess Twilight are getting married. I’m happier than ever before and so is she. If you do see this, then write me back. Oh, and if you can re-open the portal, don’t. I feel as i the portal closed for a reason. Maybe our world’s aren’t meant to be connected. Oh, and before I go, thank you all. Maybe one day the portal will reopen itself. You’re all the best friends I could have ever asked for. Goodbye, Sunset Shimmer.” “That’s it?!” Rainbow punched a wall, ‘That’s all we could fucking get!” Twilight fell to her knees. I could see tears dripping down her face as she did. I dropped down with her to try and comfort her. “You okay?” I asked. “M-married… N-No portal… Why?” She cried. I put my arm over her as she cried. Something told me I needed to comfort her. “Hey, Twi,” I grabbed her by the chin and looked in her eyes, “I haven’t known you guys for more than a day, and already I trust you more than anyone. I spent my entire life never trusting anyone. Not even my three best friends, and I think this is the closest I’ve ever had to a proper family. The closest I’ve ever had to a normal life.” “Go away!” She cried, pushing me away. But I came back to her. “I’m here for you,” I told her, “So tell me what hurts you so bad.” “Before she left I was finally going to ask her out,” Sh told me, “But then she left, and now she’s getting married to a princess.” “Hey,” Sunset said, “I used to believe that no matter what anyone says, do what you want. So why don’t we get up and jam out until that portal opens right in front of our very own eyes!” She looked at me and smiled, “Thank you Sunset, but I think that’s enough for today. You should all get home and go to bed.” “Alright then,” I said, “I’ll see you this weekend, I’m gonna spend some time with my mom.” “Bye Sunset!” They waved. I smiled and walked off. I had found friends. Or well, they found me. > Battling Your Emotions... Literally. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Come to me, Sunset, let your demons possess you…  I awoke, drenched in sweat. I rose out of bed, wiping off my forehead. I picked up my phone to check the time. 3:00. Fantastic. I noticed I had a few new messages, one from Twi. Twilight: Can you meet me by the pier. Now would be great! Sent 2:50 A.M.  Sent Now Sure, I’ll meet you there! :You (Sunset Shimmer) I put my phone down and picked up my bag. I was still in my PJ’s, but the walk was only ten minutes there, so it wasn’t too much of a hassle. I slipped on a pair of slippers and began my jog there. As I arrived, I saw Twilight standing there, alone. I approached her and leaned against the edge. “What’s up Sparks?” I asked. “I can’t open the portal” She looked up at me. Her eyes were baggy, and looked as if she had just finished crying.  “What? After all the trouble we went through?” I asked, “Are you sure?” “Yes and no,” She began to tear up again, “I’m not ready to see her. Plus, she’s happy now. She’s getting married to a princess! It’s just, I couldn’t take the pressure of seeing her again.” “If it makes it any better,” I said, “I’ve had that happen before as well. The person I like is in love with someone else.” “Are they dating the person they love?” Twi asked. “No,” I replied, “And I don’t thi they ever will.” “Then ask them,” Twi gave me a faint smile, “Don’t let your fear conquer your love like it did with mine.” “Okay then,” I took a deep breath, “Twilight.” “Yea?” “WIll you go out with me?” I asked. “Sunset…” She looked down, “I’m so sorry, but no. I can’t. I barely know you! I mean, if I could get to know you better, maybe. But, like I said, I barely know you.” “Yeah, I mean I guess it does make sense,” I told her, faking a smile, “Well I’m gonna go home.” God I’m such an idiot. I can’t do anything write can I? I’m such an embarrassment. I pulled out my phone and headphones, put ‘em in and began the trek home. -S- “Sunset Shimmer!” Shit. I was caught. My 6’8” mom was standing in the doorway,  tapping her foot. “H-Hi mom…” I chuckled awkwardly. “It’s 4 in the morning, where were you!” She questioned, “You shouldn’t be out at this time!” “Leave me alone,” I muttered. “What was that?” Her voice went cold. “I said,” I stepped close, “Leave. Me. ALONE!” Then I felt it. I felt her hand against my cheek and the burning sensation afterwards.  I stood there for a few seconds before I stepped right in her face and said, “You’re not my mom. My mom left a long time ago.”  I pushed her away and bolted out the door. I didn’t need her. My dad was barely home when I lived with him anyway. He was either out, high, or both. I didn’t need a parent. I think I ran for a good 20 minutes, tears in my eyes until I heard a voice coming from a nearby alleyway. “Sunset…” The voice sounded… demonic. “H-Hello?” I asked. All of a sudden, a giant being with red wings appeared in my vision. I screamed and turned around and ran. After about a minute, I looked back, noticing the being was gone. I turned my head back and everything went black. Twilight P.O.V I shouldn’t have let her walk off like that. I hope she’s okay. She looked pretty upset. I tried calling her cell, but she didn’t answer. I didn’t want to wake the other girls, but I was getting nervous. What if she was in danger? What if she got hurt? I eventually gave up group called the other girls. “It’s 4:30! What do you want?!” I heard Rainbow whine. “I’m with Rainbow on this. Why'd ya call us this early in the mornin’?” Applejack added on. “I met up with Sunset and she ran off after I denied her love, and I think she might be hurt because I called her and she didn’t answer,” I told them. “I’m quite alright,” a demonic voice said from behind me. “Run!” They screamed. I dropped my phone and began sprinting. I had to high tail it out of there as fast as I could. She was gaining on me and quickly. “Stop!” I heard Sunset cry out, “Leave her alone!” The demon turned and looked at her. She stood there in pure grace and glory. But she looked angry or maybe even pissed.  “You thought you could knock me out and then use some weird magic to become physical?!” She stepped forward, “Well you got another thing coming if you think your gonna even touch her!” She came at the demon at full speed. The demon cackled, “Try me Shimmer! You’ll never win!” “I know…” Muttered Sunset, as she slid under the demon and grabbed me by the hand, “But we can!” I blushed. She was holding my hand quite tightly. I looked over at Sunset. Her face was beet red!  “T-That’s right!” I continued, “We’ll never give up, no matter what!” “So be it…” The demon cackled. Then Hell rained from the sky. Sunset P.O.V I waited for death, but it never came. I could still feel Twilight, but more than just her hand. I could feel her holding me. She was hugging me. And I couldn’t breathe. The fire let up and Twilight didn’t let go. “Um.. Twilight?” I blushed, harder than I already was. “Sorry!” She blushed even harder letting go. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say her nose was even bleeding a little.  “What?!” The demon screeched, “How are you even alive!” “We live on because of our friendship!” I stepped forward, “Because, even after a few days, I feel a connection with her. A connection stronger than evil!” “True friendship!” Twilight continued, “No! More than that! I feel something more. But even so, nothing can stop us, as long as we’re together!” “You fools think you can stop me!” She cackled, “I’d like to see you try!” “Oh really?” I smiled, “Then how about this!?” I kissed Twilight on the lips and dashed towards the demon, balling my fist. I made contact right with her gut, sending her flying back. I  threw another punch. Then another. One after the other, hitting the same spot. The demon fell to her knee. “Y-you won’t s-stop me,” She spat out, “Y-you c-could never s-stop me. I am invincible.” The demon attempted to hit me back, btu a purple hand stopped it. “That’s not happening…” Twilight kicked the demon in the face, “Now burn in hell.” “Together?” I smiled. “Together!” She confirmed. We rushed the demon, and together, landed one final blow. The demon fell, it’s body evaporating. “She will get her revenge…” Were the demon’s last words. We had won. The demon was gone. “Sunset!” Twilight took me by the hands. SHe looked deep into my eyes and then… smack! She slapped me across the face. “Ow…” I rubbed my face, “What was that for?!” “For scaring me! And this…” she kissed my lips, deeply, making me ask for more. When she pulled away, it felt like a part of me had left, “Is revenge for earlier!” “Yes!” Oh no. Not Pinkie. “Well that makes telling everyone easier,” Twilight giggled. I was happy. We were happy. Fin > Epilogue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Epilogue I walked up to my front door, nervously, I was afraid she was still mad. I took a deep breath before opening the door. I stepped in quietly. The kitchen was empty. I stepped into the living room. My mother was sitting on the couch with my Aunt Luna. She was bawling her eyes out. I’m such an idiot. “M-mom?” I spoke up. She looked up, and everything broke down. I rushed her, and she pulled me into her arms. “Oh my god, S-Sunset,” She cried out, “Don’t ever leave me again. I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t ha-” “Mom,” I let her go, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have acted the way I did, and I don’t blame you for how you left. I mean, I do, but I forgive you, because you’re here now and that’s what matters. Thank you for everything you’ve done ever since I moved here. I love you, mom, and I’m sorry.” “I love you so much, Sunset,” She pulled me back into a hug and we stayed there for a good while. FInally, everything was perfect. I had my mom, Twilight and my friends, and that’s all I need. Bring! I pulled out my phone. I had gotten a text from Twi. Twilight: Sunset’s back. And she’s at my house! Hurry here! Now! Sent 6:00 A.M. "Shit," I muttered.
