I Clicked An Ad

I clicked an ad. Why did I do that? I honestly don't know why. It was a stupid mistake on my part, but I did it anyway because I missed the the little 'X'. As soon as I did that my computer restarted. My immediate thought was hacking, but when my computer started up again, everything seemed normal. My project was still saved so at least I didn't have to start over with my design. I went back to working until...

"Hi there!"

"Shit!" I screamed and fell out of my chair. When I got up again, I looked at my computer suspiciously. I was met with a large blue face on the screen. It had what I could only assume was a rainbow colored hairdo. The fuscha eyes were practically mesmerizing.

"Hey, dude, you alright?" it asked, concern written all over its face. I sat back down in the chair and looked at her.

"Must be some weird advertisement video." I mumbled to myself as I looked for a way to exit out of it.

"A what?" she asked. Wait...

"You...you can hear me?" I asked curiously.

She laughed and waved an appendage, "No duh. Of course I can hear you. I'm here aren't I?" Is this some sort of new AI? I'll have to test it out.

"What are you?" I asked.

"I'm a Pegasus, obviously." she said while displaying her wings, "Call me Rainbow Dash."

"Okay. Um... do you know where you are?" I asked. To this she deflated ever so slightly into confusion. After some thought she glanced away from me sadly.

"Honestly, no. I... don't actually have any other memories except for Equestria."

I raised an eyebrow, "Equestria?"

"Yeah, it's where I'm from. it's just uh..." she rubbed a hoof on her temple, "It's hard to explain but I remember Equestria but I don't remember myself in it. It's weird. Here's a picture." with that she ran away from the screen until she was about inch big and a bit more pixelated. She ran over to my wifi button and stepped on it loading up the options. She kicked the connect button with her back hooves and then closed the options again. Then she flew over Chrome and clicked it with her hooves. When google appeared she stepped on the search option and passed searches made suggestions. She used these letters to type in 'Equestria'. It was honestly quite adorable the way she did it. She clicked images and pictures appeared.

"This is Equestria." She said pointing to one of the pictures. It was a cartoonish map of said world she was talking about, "It's where I'm from...or at least where I think I'm from."

I rubbed my chin, "How do you know how to do all this?"

At this she looked confused again, "I...don't really know. I just...know how. I don't have any experience or shit like that but...I know how."

I thought for a second before trying something. "One moment" I warned her. I enter 'Rainbow Dash' into the search bar and waited. A moment later, all sorts of versions of the Pegasus on my screen appeared. Rainbow stepped over to an image of her with five other ponies, all different colors. She looked so sad. I couldn't think of how to comfort her. We're practically from other worlds. I can't put a hand over her shoulder. Oh God, she's tearing up. I don't know what to do.

Suddenly an idea comes to me. First I need to experiment with something. I drag my mouse over on to rainbow and click. At first she's surprised but she doesn't fight. I lift her and put her on the bottom of the screen out of the way. I then search 'Equestria Scenery'. Random images of Equestria come up. I save one into my pictures. I go into the folder and select the photo. It enlarges up on my screen and I pick up Rainbow again. I drop her in the image and... she falls into the photo and I flip out a little.

"Rainbow! Are you alright?!" I practically shout at the screen. A millisecond letter she comes rocketing up into view. She looks ecstatic as she waves and starts flying all over the place. After a few minutes I decide to leave her be and return to my project. Luckily she's able to coexist in her little world.

Just before I get a chance to start working again, she jumps out of my files window runs up to the screen. Without warning she licks the screen and just stares at me as if she'd just done something normal. I stare back at her in shock for a few seconds. I decided to roll with it and lick my finger before smearing it lightly over my screen. She prances in place for a second before running back to my files and hopping in. I'm left to my own thoughts.

I'm sure she's a file somewhere on this computer, but nothing has slowed down so it's safe to assume that she doesn't take up a lot of space. It's entirely possible that she's part of hack and that someone is currently taking away all my information but...

I'm not alone now. I'm not by myself while working. She might even be able to help me in some cases. I flip back to the image to see her doing flips. She seems content enough. I'd feel like a murderer if I deleted her. I guess...I'll keep her.

THREE MONTHS LATER

I sit down in my seat and turn on my computer. I have a comission to do and time is of the essence. However, I don't see Rainbow.

"Rainbow? You there?" I tap the screen. She isn't there. I search the pictures but don't see her anywhere. Is she okay? Did the computer block her or try to uninstall her?

Before I get a chance to officially have a conniption, I notice a file that says 'OPEN THIS'. I open the file and see an png. It appears to be blurred out. I open it and Rainbow pops out of it.

"Rainbow! You scared me. I thought you were...you were..." I didn't want to say it. She smiles at me but lowers her ears sorrowfully.

"Sorry 'bout that, but I wanted to surprise you."

I raised an eyebrow, "A surprise?"

Rainbow giggles and reaches down into the image she was in. She lifts up the blur and I see giant 3D image. It was a CGI version of me and Rainbow together. the design and detailing was incredible. It looked as good as my work.

"Rainbow! This is awesome. You're amazing at this. When did you...?"

"I've been working on it for about two months now. I thought it might be a good Birthday gift." She found out my birthday? Oh, wait, full access to my computer. Right. "I hope you don't mind."

"Mind? Of course not. I should hire you to work with me."

Dash is close to the screen again as I look at her. She's blushing a little. She's so adorable when she blushes. I enjoy every second of my life with her. I've never had much luck with women, Rainbow is much more accepting of my nerdy behavior, even if she does call me 'egghead' from time to time. Still, I can't get enough of her.

Then, I speak before thinking, "I love you Rainbow."

Dammit man! What in the hell are you thinking! You don't just say that. Rainbows face shows that she's having similar thoughts. But then she smiles at me.

"I... I love you too, Dave...I guess." she stutters out. She licks the screen looks at me expectantly. I lick my thumb and smear it across the screen. I'll wash it later but... I don't care right now.

I looked up how to date AI's on my phone the next day. God, I'm weird as hell.
